Novelera: When will Kate del Castillo's Super Series "La Reina" come back for 3rd Season ?

SO FRUSTRATING! I wrote a brief recap. But I was on Caray yesterday from work. Google randomly recognizes me when I am on a different computer and randomly does not. I went down the rabbit hole of changing it again, getting "codes" to my cell phone, yada yada. And nothing worked.
It wasn't really a recap, just some thoughts. I may try again later.
I wonder if Dondi has watched this one .
I saw at the very end of the episode that it was a re-make of a program that aired on the BBC in the past. So I guess it's made from either a series or a movie that was originallly in English, re-written into Turkish, and then dubbed into Spanish. Talk about globalism!
Anyway, the protagonist is Asya and her husband is Volkan. It began with a dramatic scene and then went back to how this all happened.
Asya and her husband are at a dining table with a group of people, men and women. Asya announces that her husband has had a lover for years. This lover, a younger woman, is also at this dining table and rises up with angry denials. Asya goes on to say that this young woman is pregnant with Volkan's child.
Then we go back to a normal morning in this household, affectionate married couple, cute 12 or 13 year old son, named Ali. Asya's neck is bothering her. Volkan massages her neck. Then just before she leaves he puts a scarf around her neck to keep it warm during her drive to work.
When she gets to work she finds some blonde hairs on the scarf. I don't think I would have jumped to another woman quite that quickly. But this woman does so. She's, I think, the managing physician of a practice of around 7 doctors. They showed a plaque on the wall with their pictures.
She has some contacts with women she knows, either blondes always or having recently colored their hair blonde. I think she ruled at least one of them out and then remained suspicious of others.
She finds out that his assistant she didn't know he had is blonde. This woman tells her she loves her job because Volkan closes up shop at 5 PM on the dot. Of course Volkan never arrives home until 8 PM.
The irritating thing is that she's obsessing the whole day about this and doesn't give several patients she sees adequate care. She hardly notices what they say. One of these women looks very sad and is asking for medication to help her sleep. Asya kind of blows her off. Later we see that she's a victim of abuse by some man. Had Asya listened she might have gotten information to help her.
Anyway, it was fairly easy to follow for me. My reaction is "meh". Probably watch this week, but I don't really want to spend time on something I find mediocre.
Thanks, novelera . I watched and noticed Asya checking out blonde hairs and various blonde women , so I figured she suspected her hub of cheating. I also saw she found a lipstick and then saw a woman using that same kind of lipstick . I wasn't impressed by this actress when I surfed in and out the tragic "Madre." She seemed to have one expression .....the same one she has in this show . I will call the expression "meh."
I like " Embajador" and "Amor Val." I am also hanging on as "Mi Fortuna es Amarte" on Univision fumbles and stumbles to the finale.
Thank you novelera for the synopsis. I won’t be watching this one either. Even if the “meh” improves, I’ll just be watching Amor Val for now………
One thing I appreciate is that they got the same voice actress from Madre to dub the lines for Cansu Dere in this novela. I think the trailers had a different voice for her, and it was throwing me off.
I'll give this show a chance since I'm not crazy about the Vicente Fernandez biopic
As much as I like the friendship between Suhan and Sirin, Sirin is annoying, to say the least. She can be pretty silly, as well as offering both her opinion and too much information regarding Suhan and Cesar’s relationship. Suhan was trying to feign “disinterest” as Sirin read Cesur’s brief note, but her expression certainly told a different story. Suhan is really a stunning woman and looked awesome in that red dress! She’s got some dance moves too! The eye locking between her and Cesur as he descended the steps at the New Year’s Eve party was “all consuming” until Banu ruined that beautiful moment, but they made up for it with the poem he gave her, and the kiss in the garden. It was very sweet of Cesur to return Suhan’s horse too! But yet again, a lovely moment was ruined by the arrival of the cops to arrest Cesur.
What stumps me, well two things, is why Mean daddy would visit Cesur in prison, and why in the world is the police station named after Mean daddy!?!? Like even in Turkey isn’t the police dept a city or state owned thing? How can a private citizen own a police dept?!?! Money aside???? Seems like a real conflict of interest! This is the first time that Cesur really lost his cool, but even then, his anger is not overdone. The look on Suhan’s face to her father as he left Cesur’s cell, spoke volumes! The seed of doubt is firmly planted, yet somehow, Mean daddy will work this to his advantage. That’s what he does, thug that he is. At least the due process and kangaroo court was quickly over. Banu is a good attorney. I just hope she continues to be a good friend to Cesur after Sirin’s comments………Sirin really needs to mind her own beeswax……..
Carmella, I forgot to turn the show on at 9 , so I missed the beginning. I arrived in time for the kiss. Wow. Check off another galan requirement ..good kisser. And then , get out your bingo cards...galan goes to hospital check....galan goes directly to jail , did not pass go, did not collect $200 check . Wow, Thor caged and kicking the bars. Hey, Angrybangs, that is how you do angryfierce . When Bad Dad came to visit , it looked like Cesar was trying to put his face through the bars .Was he going to bite him ? And the one eyed stink eye that Suhan gave Baddad was impressive .
"NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises announced today the expansion of its production footprint with the opening of a new production unit in Mexico City operating as Telemundo Global Studios Mexico."
"The new Mexico-based production unit is currently in pre-production of its first project for the network, the eighth season of the international ratings success “El Senor de los Cielos."
Carmella, I may be wrong, but I have the impression that the town is named Korludag, after Mean daddy. And if the town is Korludag, the police station would be the Korludag Police Station.
I'm not completely sure, Carmella, but I think that's the case. I've been known to be wrong :-)
Thanks, Carmella, for your excellent comment. And, Juanita, for your clarification of the town being named after Mean Daddy. How did he pull that off? I had the impression that most things in Turkey were pretty old. Was the town maybe named Happy Valley in Turkish until Tahsin took everything over?
An interesting thing that happened last night was that we saw that Sahil, his enforcer these days, was once a farmer/landowner whose land Tahsin somehow stole. He basically told him: get on board with this or you'll die, IIRC.
Tahsin came to the jail to gloat, Carmella. Why Cesur was in there in the first place was unclear to me. They showed the slimy Balent watching Cesur look something up in a binder and, IIRC, that was the basis for the arrest.
Things were more or less explained in the "trial". What I understood was that the land Cesur bought from Korhan while Tahsin was away was registered in that binder. [No computers in this town?] What Banu convinced the judge of was that the registration of the property that was on record was a forgery. Banu presented the original that made Cesur's purchase legal.
What confused me was I thought they were going to say he bought it under a false name since his name is Karahasanoglu not what he's been using since he arrived in town.
And Cesur got through to Mean Daddy. He jumped back when Cesur jumped forward, almost putting his head through the bars. And what he said about Tahsin being guilty of three deaths, his grandmother, his grandfather, and his father made an impression. Tahsin now knows he's got an enemy that he cannot dominate, like Mihribar.
I loved when the judge told Tahsin he'd "sanction" him if he didn't shut up in court.
Still not into it. But Asya last night managed to get into Volkan's car's trunk and find his "other" cell phone with pictures of who his lover is. I was wondering how she figured out it was the young woman.
Thanks very much, novelera, for explaining what the issues were that led up to Cesur's arrest and what happened during the trial. I was almost totally confused. Also, I found it interesting, though puzzling, that when the imprisoned Cesur yells at Tahsin that he will make him pay for what he did to his grandfather, grandmother, and father, Suhan somehow overheard him.
Here are a couple of additional things about last night's episode:
At the start, we see Mihriban and Cahide in Mihriban's car. She has just heard someone report to her that the paintings belonged to the Karahasandoglu family. Cahide remembers what Cesur's mother had said about the paintings, and her mentioning the name Karahasandoglu. Cahide asks Mihriban who the Karahasandoglus are. Mihriban replies, "I have no idea." [I'm pretty sure she is lying.]
Cesur arrives rather late at the New Year's party. Though I think he and Suhan spot each other when he enters, he loses sight of her and asks where she is. He's told that Suhan always welcomes in the New Year by visiting her mother's grave. We then see her at the grave and then seeing Tímida. Cesur comes outside, sees Suhan, and tells her that he has brought Tímida back to her. He also tells her, "I'm in love with you," to which Suhan replies, "Get out of my life." He tells her that he can't forgive himself for hurting her, and he gives her a copy of a poem by Louis Aragon that his father gave to his mother. It begins, "There is no love without sadness" and ends "There is no happy love." Though that definitely doesn't turn me on, apparently it works for Cesur and Suhan. They kiss. And k-i-s-s.
As Cesur was arrested, I think there was what seemed to be a flashback to an earlier arrest of Cesur when he was somewhat younger. I have no idea what that's all about.
At some point, after Banu gave the judge what was apparently the original document that made Cesur's purchase legal, we see Salih swear to Tahsin that he saw the documents destroyed. Tahsin responds by hitting Salih.
I too loved it when the judge threatened to sanction Tahsin if he didn't shut up. I'm surprised that there are any judges willing to take on Tahsin.
The judge declares that due to lack of evidence, the accused [Cesur] is released.
Thank you novelera and Juanita for clearing up both why Cesur was arrested, and Miriban’s conversation with Cahide about the paintings. Mirhiban was clearly taking photos of the picture during the party and made some comment to Suhan about the real one and a forgery. Not quite sure what Mirhiban is after besides taking Mean daddy down at all costs……..
Yup, EXCELLENT rage expressed by Cesur to Mean daddy, and lol’d when the judge reprimanded Taksin…….
My favorite part was Bad dad arriving at the New Year's Eve party wearing a Santa hat ...just a guy who likes to party.
Carmella ...Mummers Parade ?
Hahaha Susalynn! Nothing like a good dance session after killing people…..great stress reliever I’m sure!
OMG! I love Cesur! Controlled anger to the MAX! Bulent is way out of his league! Such a punani boy! Funny thing is, I really like Mirhiban, but her son is son not the kind of man I thought a woman like her would raise. Maybe her hatred for Mean daddy affected her to the point where she forgot that she had a son who was watching and needed to be raised, not left to draw his own conclusions and become such a backstabbing wussy.
Glad to see that Salih does seem to have a conscience. Mean daddy has ruined the man that he once was. Also glad that Suhan and Korhan didn’t let Mean daddy have his way with the company too. Mean daddy was definitely in damage control mode, and though that they would buy anything he tried to sell them. Cahide though! What a butt sucker she is! I know it comes from greed, but shouldn’t she be supporting Korhan at all times!! Like really!
Suhan sure put Adalat in her place, lol……..
It is so weird that Korhans was such a psycho in the beginning and now we see him as the poor damaged kid from is mean Dad.
I know this is weird but I swear young Tahsin reminds me of Kevin Spacey and no not in that way. Just appearance wise.
Bulent what a wanker. Loser. Jeez Suhan should Thank God daily that Cesur showed up otherwise she would have gone along with the family and married him.
Salih is telling the truth, Tahsin killed his grandparents but not his Pa. Adalet did that.
Fev
Thanks very much, Carmella and Fev, for your helpful comments about last night's episode. Carmella, I agree that Bulent doesn't seem to be the sort of son Mihriban would have raised. As you say, it's possible that her awful experiences and resultant obsession re Mean Daddy affected her treatment of Bulent. And I too was happy to see Salih rebel, and also that Suhan and Korhan remained firm about the company.
Fev, I too keep thinking how fortunate it is that Cesur came along to squash Suhan's relationship with Bulent. And yes, it's clear from the earlier flashbacks that Salih is telling the truth about Mean Daddy's not killing Cesur's father. We saw Adalet pull the trigger.
Here are a few more things I found interesting about last night's episode:
Korhan clearly knows more about Mean Daddy's past than he's telling Suhan. We see how startled he is when she mentions the name Karahasanoglu, and especially when she says that Cesur is Cesur K, not Cesur A. I was afraid the shaken Korhan was going to drive off the road or into another car.
I enjoyed the scene where Cahide and Hulya are shopping for false bellies. According to the sales clerk, the store has them in sizes for every month of the pregnancy.
Turan seems more and more to be a good guy. He tells Banu that he thinks even though Hulya used him, he thinks she too was used, and that the man (Cesur) was sent to that location on purpose.
Banu tells Cesur that Tahsin wanted to get rid of him (Cesur) and knew that Cesur would sacrifice himself to save Suhan. Cesur replies that he doesn't think Tahsin was behind this, and she should look elsewhere. Rifat asks "Bulent?" Cesur doesn't say anything but seems to slightly shake his head Yes.
Wow, Hulya is a piece of work! It looked to me as if she was trying to seduce Korhan with her "massage." I kept expecting Cahide to come upon them in a seemingly compromising position, and I wondered whether that was Hulya's intention.
Suhan tells Cesur to stop talking about her father. "He can't be an assassin," she says. He tells her he is going to fight for her. She replies, "Our story ended before it began, Cesur Alemdaroglu." He replies, "You don't want to hear my story?" "No," she answers, "I'm not brave like you."
I have no idea what the $400,000 (or was that Turkish money?) was that someone offered some man to do something. The man had already done another nasty job, apparently. I don't remember anything specific, just that the guy was offered $400,000. Can someone explain this scene?
Okay I am watching this one. I am confused big time on this one yet I like it. Looks like all those people at jackass Volken party know what's up and the dumb young girl. Wow really? Anyway Volken coming home drunker than a frat boy on hazing night. I am sure he had to be driven or he would have been trying to get into some unknown person's house cause no way he could have found his own house.
I guess the scene the first nite was just in her head where she stabbed him in the heart. I say she had to be suspicious to start out because she didn't do the normal not my husband.
So I be watch this because most of these people seem pretty despicable and that always appeals.
Fev...I want to see Volken punishment and exposed
Fev, I surfed in for a minute . The drunk guy at the party is in Kurulus playing a fierce warrior.

Juanita,,thank you for the recap of last night's episode.
Are there really stores that sell fake bellies ? Really ? Why? Who would buy store them...other than someone faking a pregnancy ??
Yes, Hulya was definitely putting the moves on Korhan with that touchy feely chest massage . QTH? She is creepy.
Interesting scene in the gym with Cesar sneaking up on Pipsqueak Bulent taking out his feelings of inadequacy out on the punching bag. What was Cesar saying to him as he held the punching bag ?
ITA with the comments about Cesur's encounter with Bulent. Bulent is clearly suffering from avocados envy. And we saw more anti-Miran behavior last night. He just overpowered Bulent without making a big deal out of it.
Looks like Salih may be hedging his bets. He told the truth about Tahsin not killing Cesur's father, but didn't say it was Adalet, at least not yet. He swore on his daughter's life.
Said daughter, Sirin, is SO annoying lately. Glad you agree, Carmella. She gets that high-pitched cooing voice when she wants to be right in the middle of Cesur and Suhan's relationship.
The flashback to young Korhan was interesting. He heard shots coming from somewhere, expressed anxiety, and then saw Cesur's father (Do we know his name? If I ever did it's gone from the cerebral cortex) dragged away and put into a car. As I recall, two people died that night. Someone was shot in the woods and someone "died in a car crash".
Yes, Cahide is intolerable. Even after Korhan told her to butt out at the dinner table, she kept trying to keep Daddy All-the-bucks placated.
I am also not sure about the money Hulya forked over. It could be to off Turan or Cesur. I know she definitely wants Turan quieted, especially after Bulent went ballistic over the phone. He's terrified his involvement with Cesur being shot will come to light. Also, someone mentioned last night that the plot wouldn't have worked without the text from Suhan. IIRC there were a couple of guilty looks after that was said.
Hulya is just awful. She has no moral compass at all. It wouldn't surprise me if she's trying to seduce Korhan and then would try to say that the bun in her oven is his, cutting out Cahide. Korhan, bless his heart, is only into his deceitful wife, getting very uncomfortable with her overtures.
Wow, Suhan's face when she dropped a bomb on Adalet was pure Jr. Mean Daddy.
The money is a big question mark for me too! I’m sure Tuyla and Cahide want Turan out the way. He can spoil all their plans. Plus with Bulent, Turhan thinks that he’s’ Tuyla’s baby daddy, so that’s also a good reason why Bulent wants him out of the way. Even though it’s false, Bulent would have a lot of “splainin” to do if anything related to the fake pregnancy comes out. But Bulent is the only one who wants Cesur out of the way, so I’m at a loss here…..
“pure Jr. Mean Daddy,” hahaha! Could not’ve said it no better!
