What are Cahide and Huyla up to now?? Obviously Cahide is orchestrating a trist of some sort between her husband and Huyla, but why?? Does she want to break up with Korhan so that she can leave and he can never see her fake pregnancy come into fruition?? So that when all is said and done, she can just return home with a baby? Or is she intent on his “supposed” affair with Huyla to cause her to have a miscarriage?? Whatever Fric and Frac are up to, it’s no good……are they drugging him too??? Poor Korhan….such a pawn in the life of everyone in his family except for Suhan. She appears to truly love her brother. Korhan is, and has been traumatized since the time he was a child, and his drinking and meltdowns are a clear sign of that! I hope the best for him….he really is a likable guy who deserves so much better than Cahide……

Sirin is ANNOYING as hell! Her husband is a saint for putting up with her being such a busybody! She’s a newlywed for goodness sakes, and shouldn’t be thinking of anything else but her husband! And getting pregnant, lol. That should keep her busy enough!

So, Mean daddy, in all his contrived “ I want peace” mode, has hatched a plan to make Cesur think that his father committed suicide? I even saw small wheels turning in Suhan’s head when the so called evidence was presented by crooked cop. Suhan, and I don’t blame her, wants to believe in her father so much. She’s been his princess all her life, and she loves him in spite of what happened with her mother. She also keeps saying that she doesn't trust Cesur, yet like a moth to a flame, she can’t stay away——well neither can he, lol, but you can see it in her eyes that she wants to trust and believe him. Her father taught her well though, she questions and investigates, but is also more easily manipulated by Mean daddy. “ Love or Lies,” that’s her dilemna……..

Loved Suhan and Cesur spending time together. Between their playful banter, and all out arguments, it’s definitely a rocky road ahead for them! Yet they still can’t deny their connection, and I hope when that point comes where she’s as willing to fight for him, as he is for her, it will be worth it! They are really a dynamic pair! Beautiful scenery! Turkey must be a country of extremes if the weather is any indication? I saw sunny weather, snow and rain all in a matter of a few scenes!

Thanks VERY much, Carmella, for your great comments about last night's episode. I especially liked your speculating on what Cahide is planning, either with or without Hulya's conscious help. It was clear that Korhan was terribly shaken by the recurrence of the nightmare where, when he was a boy, he was present and saw some of what happened the night Hasan K. (Cesur's father) was killed. He wakes up but the room is dark, and when Hulya comes over and starts comforting him, he assumes she is Cahide. Then Cahide comes in and screams at him for being unfaithful. She goes on for quite a while like this. I wasn't sure whether she really believed he had betrayed her or was putting on a good show for reasons known only to her (or, perhaps, to her and Hulya). So I found your discussion of what Cahide's motives may have been very insightful and plausible.

I was really surprised last night at Salih. I thought he truly was furious with Tahsin and was not going to do his bidding any longer. But it turned out that Tahsin had called him and threatened to tell the police about all the people Salih had killed unless Salih returns and continues to work for Tahsin. So after the conversation with Cesur near the start, where Salih assures Cesur that he now hates Tahsin, he calls Tahsin as soon as Cesur leaves to assure Tahsin that he has done what Tahsin wished. I guess that included arrranging for the brake fluid in Cesur's car to slowly drip out.

It's thus not surprising that in the final scene in the episode, we see Salih be asked to pick up Suhan's car keys. He does so, and learns to his horror that Suhan had gone off in Cesur's car. The episode ends on his horrified realization that she is in a car whose brakes are about to fail.

Amor Val

Thank you Juanita! I didn’t put two and two together with Salih’s ending scene until you just now mentioned it! That’s why he had that “fear of God” look in his eyes! What stumps me, again, is that Salih has all the dirt on Mean daddy too! If Salih has to go down, take Mean daddy right along with you! You both have to pay for your crimes——-deservedly so!

But I guess it’s still too early for that, lol

I meant to add to my previous comment that, as usual, there were things I didn't understand about the episode. One is Turan's telling Banu that he lied to her. Interestingly, at one point Cesur proposes that he and Suhan work together to find out the truth about his father's death and her father's role or non-role in it. Cesur says they should start with Turan. And then we see Turan tell Banu that he lied. Huh? What did he say that was a lie? And why had he lied?

I was glad that we saw more flashbacks of Korhan as a child on the night Hasan K. was murdered. We saw some of them before, but either we're now shown more or I simply can understand them better. What struck me last night was Cesur's saying "We just need one witness," followed by a flashback showing that Korhan was indeed a witness to important aspects of what happened. He saw Hasan alive (Hasan spoke to him) and then, soon after that, he heard gunshots, followed by people carrying Hasan's body to his car. He apparently also hears someone say "Put him in the driver's seat and let him fall off the cliff." So it looks as if Korhan may wind up playing a key role in unravelling the mystery of what happened to Hasan.

Carmella, I too wondered why Tahsin is not just as vulnerable as Salih, since he ordered much of Salih's dirty work. I guess the point is that Tahsin is a very powerful man and has the means and the muscle to get what he wants. If it comes to a question of whose accusations will be believed, the odds favor Tahsin. But if there is evidence, or a witness....

Amor Val

I remember the guard telling Turhan that “the boss” told him to relay to Turhan to “keep his mouth shut.” So that’s why Turhan changed his story, and the guard was standing there as they exchanged looks. So who is the boss??? My first guess was maybe Mean daddy, but not only is that too easy, it doesn’t make sense. That being said, all roads seem to lead to Tahsin……..

Sometimes, it seems to me, that Cesur is grasping at straws, any lead he can find. Also, why did Firhat ( is that his name) say to Cesur that maybe he should give up, after telling him that he’s certain that Cesur’s father did not commit suicide? Did I miss something there??

I agree with you…Korhan may well be the key here. He may not trust Cesur, but he certainly empathize’s with him. I can see the two of them becoming friends——-even if only out of Korhan’s guilt…….

Amor Val

Carmella and Juanita, thanks for explaining things to me . I was mainly looking at Cesar and also Suhan' s coat and making up dialogue in my head. The picnic by the sea was a nice getaway from the crazy.

Carmella, like you, I was thinking that as a newlywed, Sir should be thinking mostly about Kemel , who sees like a sweet , easygoing guy.

I have no idea what Hulya and Cahide are up to either together or separately . Cahide has that cabinet full of fake bellies . Poor Korhan is tortured by his nightmares about being present the night Hassan wss killed . is this something new or has he been suffering with these memories his whole life.

OT

Hope to catch up tonight. I had theater tickets for a local theater company's performance of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. It was not very good, only two really accomplished performances in the whole cast. But I agreed to go with a friend, who bought the tickets before I knew the Golden State Warriors would be playing their 6th game that same night.

So, this being a theater crowd and Shakespeare lovers at that, there was not too much risk of someone telling me the score at the intermission. And that was the case. The audience was noticeable for lots and lots of grey hair, including my own. I also managed to have my back to a television behind the bar at the restaurant where we dined before the performance.

So I had the game on my DVR when I got home at 11:00 PM and was none the wiser. Skipping over beer commercials, it still kept me up pretty late. But I got the see the GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS WIN THE WHOLE THING. This is their 4th championship 8 years!

Thanks very much, Carmella, for the info about the guard's telling Turan that the boss said to keep his mouth shut, and the guard was standing there. That does make Turan's changing his story much more understandable. Like you, I'm not sure who the "boss" is. I guess we'll eventually find out. Or not. :-)

Susanlynn, I was under the impression that Cahide hid her "bellies" in a cabinet she thought Korhan would never open. But it sure looked like the cabinet that Korhan went to to get a blanket and pillow. I kept waiting for him to come upon the bellies, but he didn't. Sigh.

Then again, when Cesur and Suhan were in the country and suddenly heard gunshots, Cesur immediately pushed Suhan to the ground and fell on top of her, presumably to, um, protect her. But shortly before that, we had another glimpse of the dripping brake fluid. I kept expecting/hoping that since Cesur was now down on the ground, he might notice something dripping from underneath his car. But no. Foiled again.

Amor Val

Juanita, yes, when Cesar was " protecting" Suhan, I thought that he would notice the dripping from his car, but he was focused on Suhan.

amor-val

Past clips show Salih examining the brake fluid on the ground and then giving a thumbs-up to another guy, who probably was the one who damaged the hose in Cesur's car. Immediately after this, Salih calls Tahsin to tell him that all has been taken care off.

After the past clips, the episode starts with Rifat telling Banu that Cesur is only interested in Suhan to hurt Tahsin. I'm not sure why he says this--perhaps to make sure that Banu doesn't mess with Cesur's plans?

Banu comes to Cesur's house to use his computer. Sirin says she doesn't know the password. Banu tells her she can manage (and she does).

Tahsin is livid. He asks Salih "How is it possible that Suhan is in Cesur's car?"

Korhan is still at Hulya's. Hulya tells him she has never met a man so kind [she should have added, "so clueless"]. She goes to the kitchen, where she puts a pill into the drink she's about to give to Clueless Korhan. The pill seems to work quite quickly. She kisses his hand. He wants to leave but can't seem to get up. Not long afterward, Cahide gets out of the car and goes to see what is keeping Korhan. She walks in to find Hulya in her underwear and Korhan shirtless. Cahide curses Korhan and says she's getting a divorce.

Tahsin, meanwhile, is frantic. He orders Salih to find Suhan before something happens. We then see the car hit an embankment and go up in the air (in slow motion, of course), landing on its side. The front part of the car is on fire. Cesur manages to get Suhan out of the car and far enough away just before the car explodes.

Banu has been watching video footage from the garage. Nosy Sirin comes in and sees Cesur say he wants to hurt Tahsin through his most dear treasure, Suhan. Sirin is shocked and upset. She says that Suhan was right not to trust Cesur, and that God has sent her, Sirin, to hear this so she can save Suhan. [Arrgh]

The police arrive at Tahsin's to say there has been an accident--to Korhan's car! Then Cahide arrives to say she wants a divorce. [I'm still not sure whether Cahide and Hulya are in cahoots or they're acting separately for separate reasons.]

At the "accident" scene, someone from the police, I think, says he's sure this wasn't an accident. Suhan says she's sure her father couldn't have had anything to do with this. Cesur tells her to call her father, let him know she and Cesur are together in his car, and see how he responds. She does so. At first, Tahsin tells her in an urgent voice not to get in the car. Once she makes it clear she's already in the car and they're driving somewhere, Tahsin yells "Get out of the car right away!!" Suhan admits that Cesur was right. Her father is always lying.
Cesur proposes that they go to a hotel to rest.

The police arrive to inform Tahsin that there's been another accident. The car exploded. Tahsin is devastated. He also realizes, "She knows what I did!"

Tahsin and Salih go to the scene of the "accident." Tahsin collapses. Salih summons an ambulance, which takes Tahsin to the hospital.

Suhan to Cesur: "First the fire, then you were shot, now this!" Cesur replies: "Don't worry. I have 6 more lives."

At the hotel, they get separate rooms. Rifat turns up. He gives something to Cesur saying, "You can record with this." Rifat hides when Suhan comes by. After she leaves, he asks Cesur whether he's sure he wants to do this. Yes. Cesur then gives Rifat Suhan's ID card. Huh?? Rifat says he's afraid Cesur will be hurt. Cesur: "I have no choice." End of episode. [No end to my confusion]

Juanita, thank you so much. I am completely confused as to what Cahide and Huyla are doing to Korhan either together or separate!y . I also wonder what Cesar plans to do with Suhan's ID.

We have another fan...Jardinera who has been at caray a long time like me. is bingeing this show on demand , I think . I think she said it is also on Netflix . She said the actor playing Cesar is in a sci-fi show on Netflix .

Excellent overall recap Juanita! Confusion seems to be the name of the game in this dizi, and because we seem to find out everything “after the fact,” I makes the present that much more confusing, lol.

Cahide should really be ashamed for putting her husband through this! It’s wicked enough to lie to him in the first place, but to continue to gaslight him is just plain cruel! Funny though, how Mean daddy didn’t give a flying pig’s foot about Cahide’s self orchestrated dilemma! Lol! But I do feel bad, again, for Korhan. Mean daddy treats him like an unwanted stepchild….,

I just want to smack the crap outta Sirin and her NOSEY self! What newlywed do you know is all into her friend’s love life when she has a new, hot husband herself!?!? And to top it off, she’s blatant in her nosiness! She doesn’t even try to hide the fact that she is! So very, very annoying!!

You can betcha bottom dollar that Mean daddy will get out of this somehow. In the meantime, I hope Suhan and Cesur have the most pleasant time! I hope they can leave their problems right where they left them for a short time, and commence to some romancing, lol….

And what of Miriban??? What was that reaction to Mean Daddy’s hospital visit?! Is her hate also carrying a torch too?? Is there a chance for them two as in Azize and Nasuh???? Hmmmm……

Thanks again Juanita! Working this weekend, and it’s hard for me to get to the patio, but I’m really digging this dizi, lol!

amor-val

MANY thanks, Susanlynn and carmella, for your supportive and very interesting comments. I can't tell you how relieved I am to see that both of you, too, find this dizi confusing.

Susanlynn, like you, I'm wondering what the business was with Suhan's ID card. I guess we'll have to wait until the coming week to find out. And I'm delighted to hear that Jardinera is also getting up to speed on this dizi. I hope she joins us with her comments.

Carmella, I used to think you were a bit hard on Sirin, but each day convinces me further that you're absolutely right. She is a very annoying PITA. I'm beginning to wince when she appears. And yes, I left out Mihriban's seeing the ambulance pull up at the hospital and Tahsin get carried out on a stretcher. It does seem clear that she still has strong feelings for him, positive as well as negative. And it may be that those feelings are reciprocated. I was surprised when the unconscious Tahsin twice muttered Mihriban's name, even though by then it was Adalet sitting at his bedside. I found it interesting that you offered Azize and Nasuh as examples. I would have said I can't forgive and forget all the harm that Tahsin has caused, but surely he's no worse than Azize was. And Nasuh was no angel, either.

Juanita and Carmella, thanks SO very much for putting up excellent comments about what's going on with "Thor" (thanks, Susanlynn).

I caught up last night. There are three characters that I unconditionally like right about now: Cesur, Rifat, and Kemal. Everyone else is either an outright villain or pretty unlikeable (looking at you Sirin).

Yes, Turan was definitely going to blow things wide open working with Banu. Hulya would have been exposed and probably Bulent as well. I expect the money Hulya gave Thug #2 was either from the "big boss" or from Bulent. I could be wrong, but I don't think Turan's big boss is Tahsin. I sort of think what's going on here is that Hulya, who's shady to the max, was involved in something crooked with Turan's gang. He is the father of the baby, but her plans for a cozy life at the Kordulag house would have been undone if she hadn't been able to put him in prison with some lies. Banu is a good lawyer and the trial would have been explosive. When the guard handed over some money, IIRC, and told him to keep it zipped, he knew he wouldn't survive if he told the truth.

I'm pretty sure Banu knew that Sirin was snooping and even listening at the door. She left the computer on purpose so Sirin would see Cesar say he was only after Suhan to revenge himself on Mean Daddy. Banu is all in on the punish Tahsin scheme, but she wants Cesur for herself.

I'm 99% sure that Hulya and Cahide have planned this whole thing about the "infidelity". I'd guess that what I've wondered all along - how you can sleep with a man with a rubber belly and have him believe it - was the reason they cooked up this plan to keep Korhan away. Tahsin is not likely to touch or suspect the fake bellies. I almost remember something about Cahide saying she wants a divorce, but Korhan is the one who has to leave.

Tahsin was destroyed, thinking Suhan had been blown up. But then Mehmet (crooked police chief) "reassured" him that the explosion they heard about was 30 minutes ago and Tahsin spoke to Suhan over the phone after that. Tahsin, no fool, realizes immediately that the call was to get him to be terrified and yell at her to get out of the car. He knows that she knows.

But then, at the hotel, Suhan seemed to again say her father couldn't have done it (arrange for the brake fluid to drain away). So she's not at the top of my list of faves, at least not yet. She seems programmed by her father and can't quite break free of his hold on her.

Yes, Mihriban rushing to Tahsin's side and apparently still loving him was pretty disgusting. And Adalet got to hear that it was Mihriban he wanted at his bedside.

I'm with Carmella - completely over Sirin. She's willing to divorce the fantastic Kemal because he wants to hear Cesur's side of the story about her having heard Cesur was only after Suhan to hurt her father. And, of course this is dubbed, but that squeaky voice drives me nuts.

amor-val

One more thing. Once the fake "Salih turning on Tahsin and Tahsin firing him scheme" was over, Tahsin immediately roared that Salih's wife, the cook, was to return. And she did. I think serfdom may not be over in Turkey. The tyrant was beside himself when it got to be 9PM and his dinner wasn't ready.

Amor Val

Thanks novelera! Once again you’ve also cleared up some blurry areas for me. Mean daddy always has a plan A-B and C, but he never entertained the thought that Suhan would be with Cesur——-and why would he???? No matter who Cesur is, what he’s done, or in this case hasn’t done, he did save Mean daddy’s fake and lying filled life. How convenient that Tahsin has forgotten this…..

I really have to wonder now about Mean daddy and Mirhiban. It’s pretty probable that he did truly love her, cause she obviously didn’t have the wealth that Korhan and Suhan’s mother had. I wonder if he eventually came to his senses, realized he loved Mirhiban, but she’d already married Bulent’s father. He’s also pretty nice—- nasty thug, crooked con man that he is——to Bulent. I mean why would he want Bulent to marry Suhan and be in-laws with Mirhiban for the rest of his life?? Doesn’t make sense unless he just wants to keep her close….

I’m also with you in solidarity with Cesur, Rifat and Kemal. All three are level headed, and don’t jump to conclusions at the drop of a dime. I have to put on my objective hat when it comes to Suhan. She’s only known love from Mean daddy, so it’s going to be very difficult for her to see him any other way……..sigh……….

Amor Val

Was anyone else amazed that Suhan and Cesar walked away without a scratch after that car flipped over a couple times?

amor-val

Thanks very much, novelera, for your astute account. I'm especially glad you mentioned Mehmet's pointing out to Tahsin that the explosion occurred before Suhan's phone call. I'd missed that. Now Tahsin's despair about Suhan's knowing what he did makes a lot more sense.

Susanlynn, I too expected Cesur and Suhan to show more signs of having been in a nasty accident, but I guess it's somewhat believable that there are no visible wounds. Both of them were wearing seat belts, which prevented them from hitting the dashboard or the windshield, and the car's body didn't seem to be crushed (though I find that hard to believe). Suhan was apparently knocked unconscious, though by what isn't clear to me. Then again, perhaps the company making the dizi just ran out of fake blood and other wound indicators.

Amor Val

Juanita, yes the y had seatbelts so maybe that saved them . I had a accident when I was 16 and was thrown out of car and survived with minor injuries . I was wearing a big winter coat . No seatbelts in those days .

Well, Cesar and Suhan are magical dizi beings anyway.

AMOR VAL

Well that was a bit of classic brakes shot down a perilous hill. Yes my husband and I were mocking the slo-mo crash scene.

Also my husband wants to know why Sirin can't STFU? And trust me he does thru most of these.

And FYI for Korhan; Dude accept no food or drink from either your beloved or crazy Hulya. Anytime you are dealing with possible mystical people, the uncanny or straight up psychos it doesn't work out well.

FEV

amor-val

Thanks for the belly laugh, FEV. We ALL wish Sirin would STFU.
