Part 1 of 5

As Alejandra said “I am your mother” Lucia got to the bottom of the stairs normally and put down her suitcase. “I am your mother and I don't want to lose you again.” Lucia would not believe it. Alejandra cried and became incomprehensible. Isaura came down the stairs, saying she knew nothing of this. Lucia asked whether in all these 25 years (now we know how old Lucia is) did she never think about her. Alejandra said they should talk privately, but Lucia was most unwilling. She told her that what she did should not have God's forgiveness. Alejandra called her “hija” and Lucia demanded she not do so. “You never had a daughter and I never had a mother” she tearfully continued. She took her suitcase and headed for the door. Isaura tried to stop her but Lucia said “You want me to stay and listen to the lies of this (?). There is nothing for me to do here. Maybe you, too.” She left.

Casilda asked Alejandra if she could make her some tea. Alejandra came down the stairs, gave Isaura a deadly look, then wordlessly left the room. Isaura caught her breath, wiped her crocodile tears, and said she would see if Alejandra needed her. She left the room, leaving Casilda confused.

Things were tense between Rafael and Roxana as she attempted to set up a night of sex. However, Rafael threw the champagne bucket aside and threw her dalliance with Fernando into her face, saying he would not tolerate it. She tried to deny it but he pushed her back against the balcony rail, his right hand at her throat. She grabbed onto it with her left hand and put her right hand against the rail. She must have been trembling... and he was enjoying her fear. She continued to deny it. He backed off and paused long enough to ask “Lies? Lies?” Then he showed the photo sent to his cell phone. “What does this mean? Did he kiss you back or was it just you?” [Not sure about that line.] The look on her face tells us she knew she was trapped.

“If you think you can continue to live in my house after what you did you are demented,” Alejandra told Isaura.
“I didn't know anything but I am grateful for this argument because the truth is out The daughter thinks you really terrible because you abandoned her.”
Alejandra ordered her to leave but said that this was also Lucia's house. “You think she wants to see me in the streets? No, because I was more of a mother to her than you.” She taunted her again with what Lucia would think if she knew what this house really was. Finally threatening to tell Lucia everything if Alejandra threw her out. As she left the room saying she would be silent Alejandra told her she was going to regret this.

Lucia went to Fernando's place and told him what happened. She was shocked, certain her entire life that her father had never lied to her. He told her she had to get the truth out of Alejandra, but she was sure all she would get would be more lies. She went on about how many times she wished she had had a mother who loved her and was there for her and began crying again. Fernando embraced her.

Part 2 of 5

Roxana tried to tell Rafael that Fernando “obligated” her into this but he didn't buy it. He demanded to know how long this had been going on behind his back. He threatened to shoot her in the head if she lied any more, finishing with “You don't have the right to deceive me.”

She lied anyway, saying “Only a few times and I swear I didn't enjoy it.” He did not believe her. She begged his forgiveness, kneeling on the floor in front of him. Nothing she said moved him to do anything else except telling her that she was an ingrate and that he was washing his hands of her. He then almost left the room. He told her he was done with her except that because she wants Fernando and he wants Lucia they needed to work together. Finally he said that the only words he ever wanted to hear from her was obedience to his orders. [These two sickos deserve each other. Current prediction: They will kill each other in the finale.]

Alejandra arrived at Fernando's apartment demanding to see Lucia. Fernando kept the door ajar and told her that Lucia was resting and now was not the time. Fernando told Alejandra that this was his home and he determines who enters and who doesn't. She would not take no for an answer , finally shouting Lucia's name and demanding she come out. Lucia remained in the kitchen doorway and did not even look out toward the door. Alejandra finally gave up and left. Fernando locked the door and embraced Lucia.

Pilar avoided Gabino, who had to almost chase her throughout the house. She feared he was going to bring her bad news of her test results. Finally he told her she was perfectly alright. They embraced and might have had a nice evening if Casilda had not been calling. When Pilar told her she was busy Casilda told her what had just happened. Pilar was stunned into a few seconds of silence which cause Casilda to suspect that Pilar had known this secret all along. She asked, but Pilar did not reveal that she had. She asked about Alejandra. Casilda told her she was in a bad way. Pilar told her she would change and come over.

Diego told Paulina he was leaving the business. He had disagreed with Fernando and there was no toing back from there. He expected her to leave with him. She asked what he and Fernando fought about but he would not tell her.

Alejandra finished telling Pilar about the argument, saying that this revelation happened at the worst time and in the worst way possible because it ended with Lucia hating her. Pilar – who looked like she had removed all her cosmetics before going there – told her she had to give Lucia time. Alejandra went on about how Lucia refused to forgive her and Pilar told her that Lucia had to find out eventually. Lucia is a good an noble person but wounds like this need their time to heal. Isaura was on the stairs and heard at least the tail end of this.

Part 3 of 5

The next morning Rafael refused to accept Diego's resignation. He preferred to deal with him than with Fernando. He gave him an excellent con man speech about how he was the soul of the company, not Fernando and that the two of them – Diego and Rafael – could make big money together.

Tonia tried to persuade Lucia to go to San Jacinto with her; they could be partners. She gleefully told her that Heriberto now walks with a cane. Lucia laughed a little until Pilar arrived. She told Tonia she would think about it and Tonia left. Pilar apologized and asked Lucia how she was. Lucia's reply was that she felt sick and lacking something. What bothered her most was the lie that held for all those years and the discovery that she had cried over an empty grave. And that this “aunt” was only a few kilometers away. This was incredibly painful. Pilar said that she could not be in her shoes but thought that she needed to hear Alejandra out. Lucia refused. Pilar tried once more with her version of “the truth shall set you free.”

Gabino arrived – he may have driven Pilar to the talavera and complimented it. Lucia thanked him and asked when the wedding would take place. He said “very soon” and Pilar said something about their not having talked about this yet. He told her anything she wanted he would give her. He even mentioned to Lucia that Pilar had met his children [omitting, of course, that his son is a jerk and an alcoholic]. He was aware of some difficulties and told Lucia they were there for her. They took their leave.

Leonardo arrived at the brothel during breakfast. Only Isaura and Casilda were in the dining room. He asked Casilda if they could speak alone and she exited into the garden. Isaura watched him follow her but did not get up from the table. Once outside he admitted he had been brusque with her but she had taken him by surprise. Casilda said not to worry; she understood that he was enchanted by Sylvia but repulsed by herself and said not to worry; the phrase “ugly and despicable” would not fit across her forehead. Her taking Sylvia's place was a poor substitute. He left saying “You said that; I didn't.”

Diego entered the conference room and shook hands with Fernando. Paulina entered saying it was good to see them make up. Diego left and Fernando said that Diego was right. The business was doing badly and Roxana had caused too many problems. Paulina said that none of them saw the crazy on the way. Fernando agreed and said he would have to talk to Rafael ASAP.

Michelle entered Carlos' room without knocking; he was doing push-ups. He got on her case about the missing money. She demanded to know where he had gotten that money. He called out that she had stolen it from him so how dare she ask such questions. He ordered her out of his room, telling her to get her own shit together.

Part 4 of 5

Alejandra called Lucia, who tried to ignore her phone. She finally answered and asked Alejandra what she wanted. When she said she wanted to talk to her Lucia asked why she doesn't just forget about her.
Alejandra replied that this was impossible. Lucia told her that if she could abandon her for 25 years what was one day more or less? She refused to meet with her and the call ended on that note.

Carlos went to the office hoping all would be well there. Fernando appears not to know about the money. Roxana called to get back the money she lent him and she needed it back ayer. He said he would get it to her as soon as he could but that was not good enough. She said Rafael was on a biz trip and she had to have it before he got back. As soon as he ended the all he started to call Rafael when an employee came in to talk to him about a personnel issue. He put the phone on the table.

Rafael and Alejandra met. He noticed that something was wrong and said so but she didn't tell him. He then told her that he was separating from Roxana. She asked what was wrong and he said “Nothing, just life changes.” Two sentences later he said “I can't deceive you, but I can't stop thinking about Lucia. I need your help to conquer her.”
“Not only will I not help you, I order you to get her out of your mind immediately.”
“Why? When I wanted Roxana you helped – ”
“Don't compare. Roxana was a prostitute in my brothel. Do not interfere with Lucia.”
“Calm down. I assure you I have good intentions.” When Alejandra did not say anything to that he got up. “As you wish. If you're not going to help me, I will do everything to conquer her.”
“I am not interested in your intentions about Lucia, do not interfere.”
“You get very determined about what you want. I have the right –”
“To nothing! Lucia is not an employee of my brothel. Lucia is my daughter.”
Rafael looked shocked. “What?”
“You try to get involved with my daughter you will see the worst version of me.”

Part 5 of 5

Just as Rafael was out the gate Fernando called to request a meeting with him. Rafael asked what it was about and Fernando said it would be better in person. Rafael agreed and said he would be right over.

Just as Fernando ended that call Lucia came to his office to tell him she would be with Tonia for a couple of days. She needed time away from what was happening so she could think. There was a cab outside. He then told her that he was going to tell Rafael the truth about his relationship with Roxana. He was on his way. Fernando was tired of the situation and wanted to clear the air. Lucia thought that was a good thing. They kissed, te amo'd, and she left his office.

Marta was peeking through the hedge in front of her house. Michelle asked her why she was spying on the neighbors. She said it wasn't the neighbors; it was the SUV that was parked outside all day. Michelle looked through the hedge and got nervous. Marta wanted to call the police but Michelle said not to. She then went inside.

Rafael arrived at Fernando's office and commented on the lateness of the hour. “I would normally be home with my beloved wife,” he said. Fernando motioned for him to sit down.
“It's something very sensitive, but it's important. I don't know where to begin.”
“Go ahead. We're partners; talk like a friend.”
“Well, I met Roxana a long while back and had no idea she was married.”
“Wait a moment; what are you trying to say? Why are you talking about my wife? You didn't know she was married? Why are you saying this?”
“Roxana and I had a relationship.”

Caught up   :-)

We got some more of Andrea's history. And a very sad story it was, her mother waiting for some well-to-do politico who was stringing her along, until his wife threw Andrea and her mother out of their home. We already saw that her mom eventually committed suicide. Very sad, terribly sad, and not the right thing for her mother to do when she would leave behind a dependent minor child.

But we do see a bit why Andrea can be hard and even bitter sometimes. And why she's obsessed with taking care of her daughter.

Poor Zulema! The other women did everything but stone her. And then later Erika shows up to ask about her and Tyler after bad, bad Andrea fills her head with stories of Tyler the ladies' man. Erika leaves convinced that Tyler is a rogue.

More fun were Gladys and Paulina. Paulina was a bit shocked, Gladys wants to be a mom and Mario is her choice for baby daddy. No need for him divorce Sofía, just get Gladys pregnant. Well, maybe, but I'm not so sure.

Erika arrives at Campo amor to diss Tyler and deliver him a nice cachetada. That actor who did the early Vix commercials was right, telenovela women love face slapping the galanes   :-)

But Andrea was saddened and frustrated to the point of tearing up ever so slightly when Erika and Tyler worked it out and made up. Poor Andrea, complicated and conflicted, and with a very sad backstory.
Later Andrea actually sobbed.

Wowser! Helena did a makeover to impress Gonzalo, and she looks great! This should curl his toes!

"MUJER DE NADIE":

UA: I 100% agree with you that Rafael & Roxana will kill each other by the Gran Final.

Mexicana

"Poor Andrea, complicated and conflicted, and with a very sad backstory" was perfectly stated Andy. I can't imagine you ever recover from a loved one's suicide, let alone your own mother.

I saw Gonzalo and Helena's sweet dance. Nora Salinas is stunning and I want her to tell me where she found her fountain of youth and perfect skin. I wish he'd been a bit more romantic and complimentary. Him saying she is the mother of his children is true, but how about how lovey she is and how much he loves her.

I like Ignacioo but can't see him with Sophia. I gather she can be a beyotch but in truth, I much prefer her with Mario. So, Gladys has already picked out her future baby daddy. She seemed a bit bland, a bit vanilla but obviously I was wrong.

I learned a lot from your post Andy, thank you so much.

Posting the highlights of episode #20 here too, I don't think many people saw them in the previous post:

Didn't watch, but I found some information from a website:

• Lucía opens her mother's grave and finds it empty.
• Casilda admits to Leonardo that he had intimate moments with her, not Silvia.
• Carlos realizes that somebody stole his money.
• Lucía wants to leave her aunt's house. Ale doesn't want her to leave and she admits that she's her real mother, just like we predicted!

Sounds like a strong episode! I'm sorry I didn't watch. But I'm currently busy as I can be, so no time to watch :(

Mujer de Nadie #21

Thanks a lot, Urban, for the splendid recap! Lots of things happened!

I reall like the idea of Rox and Raf killing each other in the Gran Final!

Honestly, the woman who didn't give Lucía's father his pills, almost gave their entire fortune to Heri because of her gambling addiction and didn't tell Lucía what her messed up boyfriend did so she can get money shouldn't taunt Alejandra about her parenting skills. Not that I am defending Ale, but Isaura really pissed me off.

What is up with Toña? One day she's giving Heriberto information about Lucía and the next is happy because he has a cane. I definitely did NOT like Lucía's "forgive and forget" attitude when it came to her.

I honestly don't feel Casi(lda) with Leo. Their story is just messed up. They only had a thing because he thought she was someone else. Talk about awkward.

WHY, WHY, WHY, WHY, WHY did Alejandra tell Rafael about Lucía? When Juventino asked, she told him she's her niece, but now she's casually telling Raf about something THAT important? I have a bad feeling about this... The less Raf knows, the better.

Fer telling Raf about his relationship with Roxana was expected, but kind of weirdly placed in the timezone of the events. Wouldn't it make more sense to make Fer say it BEFORE Raf fpund out? Fer doesn't know that, but the writers do. It just felt odd considering that Raf already knew. Also, why did he act perfectly normal for two days and THEN attack Roxana? Weird writer's logic again.

I don't think Alejandra is thinking too straight at the moment. She had never anticipated this situation so she hadn't planned anything about it. Under what circumstances would she have willingly told Lucia the truth? Since she isn't stupid she had to know that there would be a domino effect. What are her plans for Lucia?

Is it possible that she never intended Lucia to find out about this until her death? Maybe, but considering how nearby she was that wasn't realistic. There is an explanation that may or may not make any sense and we might have to wait 10 more capitulos for it. As for why she told Rafael, she knows him probably better than anyone else and knows he is manipulative and dangerous. She is likely to want to protect Lucia and/or herself. She also has been doing some kind of shady business with him for some period of time and his current intentions would put the kibosh on this.

Azela Robinson is a complex actress and we could now be seeing a previously hidden side of Alejandra. I eagerly anticipate the next few episodes to see where this goes.

How long before Lucia knows what really goes on in this fleshpot house? I can't see that secret lasting much longer.

Mexicana

Diana, I was busy yesterday and didn't get to comment until just before last night's show.

"I can't imagine you ever recover from a loved one's suicide, let alone your own mother."

True, and it warped Andrea a bit. A very smart young girl, she was doing extremely well in school, but she and her mother were living in poor conditions already. We don't know how she survived, if she had other family, etc. But it certainly did embitter her a bit. She somehow managed and as a teen had a romance with Gonzalo, who later dumped her, not knowing she was pregnant. So, some of her cynicism is warranted and it's not surprising that she has a jaundiced view of men.

"I saw Gonzalo and Helena's sweet dance. ... Him saying she is the mother of his children is true, but how about how lovey she is and how much he loves her."

I completely agree. Gonzalo was my favorite male character early in this novela, but lately he has been very disappointing, and in a number of ways. I'm hoping for better behavior soon.

I like Ignacio, but he is basically a goofball, and I'm very surprised at all the interest hot stuff Sofía has shown him. Laura Vignatti has always looked good and now her "grown up" look in this novela really favors her.

Mario is a good guy who loves his daughter very much, loves his wife perhaps a bit less, and may be falling for Gladys. Gladys has been in love with him since they met and was perfectly willing to get physical with him, her "husband", in what they think is a fantasy for Tyler's benefit, not Andrea's.

At the beginning Mario, a married man, slept on the floor rather than in bed with Gladys. Over time they have become a lot like a married couple, except for sex, and I keep expecting that to change too.

Andy

Mexicana. Great comments, Andy and Diana. I loved how Tyler quoted the Bible (with a slight change) to the gravel carrying ladies: Let she who is without sin throw the first stone. Of course they all dropped them. I thought Brandon was surprisingly decent in trying to reconcile his parents by slightly distorting the relation between Gonzalo and Andrea. Of course, Gonzalo had slightly distorted it to him and he had also been warned off by Andrea. Btw, Chio has a part-time job. Maybe Brandon should think of getting one too.

Mexicana

Andy, I just read your comment from yesterday - thank you for eplaining why Zulema and Rene were engaged. However briefly :)

As Gonzalo is your favorite character, I know you have good reason for making that assertion. I'm trying to figure him out. He jilts Andrea for Helena but he doesn't seem terribly attentive and worse, is pining for Andrea. I haven't seen much that impresses me, but I will look harder. Hopefully, your wish for his character growth will come true.

I thought Mario and Gladys had been intimate. I'm glad they haven't as I'm still hoping he reconciles with Sophia (yes, Laura is a marvelous actress finally looking as stunning as she is in real life). Ignacio seems like a good guy but not a match for Sophia. Gladys doesn't seem to have much of a personality and leaves me cold, which perhaps is cold of me to say.

SpanProf, I saw part of the scene with Brandon but had no idea what was going on as I hadn't seen his character in any scenes. Thank you for explaining. Now I know he is Gonzalo and Helena's son.

Was it last night Andrea was in a snit and sniping at Katya?

Thanks Andy and SpanProf for letting me chime in. I hope my questions aren't too annoying - I appreciate your catching me up.

Urban, thank you for this excellent recap that didn't miss a detail. This show is heating up.

So...now,Lucia knows that Ale is really her mother . How long before she finds out that her mom is a madam ? Isa is A despicable grifter and only cares about herself and mooching off anyone she can ..Lucia's dad, Ale . Perhaps, she has bitten off more than she can chew with Ale.

And Rafe...yikes. This guy is smooth , silent, smarmy evil in a nice suit, whereas Heriberto is a clumsy, clueless dolt.." Me want her."

Rafe and Roxy are quite the pair . He married her because he wanted her his own private ramera. Now, he has uttered his plan. He wants Roxy to seduce Fernando so that he can have Lucia . Ale told him that Lucia was her daughter to let him know in no uncertain terms that she was off limits. This actor looks so familiar to me , but I can't figure out where I saw him before .

Mexicana

"Thanks Andy and SpanProf for letting me chime in. I hope my questions aren't too annoying - I appreciate your catching me up."

Diana, thank you for your comment, and your questions are not in the least annoying. I, and I think most of us here, enjoy comments and questions. And sometimes questions make me scratch my head and come up with nothing. For instance, I do not remember exactly what happened to cause René to claim to be engaged to Zulema. Zulema herself was more than happy to go along with it because it's what she wanted in the first place.
But "stuff happens" in this novela, and often it involves some quick, though not brilliant, thinking by René or Andrea to placate Tyler. I'm pretty sure it was such a scene that prompted René's engagement to Zulema.

This novela started when MFEA was still running and at first I wasn't sure I wanted to watch it. The very first episode I thought was not great, and I just recorded the later Mexicana episodes without watching them right away.

The only person commenting on Mexicana was SpanProf and when I started actually watching I had a lot of catching up to do and found SpanProf's comments very helpful. Then there were all of two of us commenting. Quite a crowd   :-)

Now there are two of us plus one (you!) who catches little bits of the show. But tomorrow, The World!   :-)

Or... quality over quantity   :-)

:-) again

Rafael will tell Rox that Lucia is Ale's daughter. Roxana will then go lord it over Lucia that she has a madam for a mother and that's how Lucia will find out about her mother's real business. Well, that's what I think, anyway, but my conclusions are usually wrong. Lol

Mujer #21

That makes sense. His motive for telling Roxie is that she will spill it to Fernando; he doesn't know that Fernando knows unless he doesn't know that Alejandra is a madame. Not sure whether he knows or not.

However, I don't think he is the sort of man who would hold that against Lucia. She has been the victim of lies about her morals as it has been and he knows that those were lies. Daughters of hookers don't necessarily follow in mama's footsteps.

A few thoughts on tonight’s episode, and events as stated may or may not be actually what occurred 😊

Helena looked solemn after her night with Gonzalo. There was no smile or any afterglow to be seen. It appeared the earth didn’t move – at least the terra firma under her feet (or bed as it turns out).

When Gonzalo talked with Andrea much later, he inappropriately grabbed her arm and seemed to ask for another chance!? Andrea seemed outraged, as well she might. He seemed immediately contrite, berating himself though if it was for what he said or what he did, or both, I couldn’t tell.

Andrea had a bad day. Her sadness looking at her memory box, showing at least a few of the contents to Katya. And of course walking in on Luis and Zulema was another low point.

Andrea’s perfect mimicking of Luis had me smiling away. I was distracted by Andrea’s tiny wrists as her watch buckle was in the second hole (the second hole!!) resulting in the band wildly flapping whenever she moved her wrist.

The vineyard scenes were lovely and looked so picturesque and relaxing. I gather Mario was called as Sofia was nowhere to be found. Sofia seemed to put the moves on a surprised Ignacio. Don’t do it!

I don’t know the redhead Brandon was with, but she certainly didn’t seem too into him. Dude seems to have a very high opinion of himself!

I watched the entire show and was happy I did. I learned a few more character’s names and a bit more about what’s going on.

My brother will be here next week so I won’t be watching any TNs but hope to read the comments.

I can’t wait to hear what you have to say Andy and SpanProf (and of course anyone else wishing to comment).

Andy, I have surfed into this novela , but I just can't get into all the crazy characters and scenes . I know you love it . I am enjoying three shows right now !!! Amor Valiente on Telemundo . Mujer De Nadie and Herencia on Univision . I think you would enjoy the last one.

Mexicana. I too loved the vineyard scenes, Diana. Of course, I grew up in Napa. The vines seemed a little dry, but I guess they are in Napa now as well, because of the drought. They were pretty detailed about the wine production, sampling. I was kind of glad that Tyler invested in the company, but some people might find the name of "his" wine, The Mexican Gringo a bit offensive. We keep learning more and more about Andrea's sad childhood and family background--I think it's good that she's sharing that with Katya. The redhead is Megan, Brandon's "official" girlfriend. She's a bit of a spoiled princess and lately has been breaking up and then getting back together with Brandon several times. Chio punched her for kidnapping and almost causing the death of Pua, her hedgehog. Too bad that Gonzalo's and Helena's physical relationship is so unsatisfying, and she is absolutely right that he is thinking of another woman (Andrea) when they have sex. Rene is acting like a total jerk as usual, and it looks as if Sebastian is still interested in Diego.

Can someone paste highlights of Friday's episode, please? Didn't watch and can't find them anywhere. Thanks.

Mexicana. The way her late father's wife knocked down the primary school-aged Andrea and had her thrown out of the Catholic school. I'm surprised that the nuns put up with it.

SpanProf, growing up in Napa must have given you quite an education. What a lovely setting. All that wine sampling would have gone to my head all too quickly (the participants clearly enjoyed it as well they should). Ahhh, so the proposed wine name is Mexican Gringo. I wondered what that was all about. If the taste in naming the wine is questionable (which it most certainly is), will the product itself follow suit??

Appreciate your noting who Megan is. I'm not impressed.

"Too bad that Gonzalo's and Helena's physical relationship is so unsatisfying, and she is absolutely right that he is thinking of another woman (Andrea) when they have sex" was perfectly stated. Sadly, that confirmed my suspicions. Why can people never be happy with who they are with? Did they never hear the Stephen Sills song??? Seriously, this is a very sad situation and Gonzalo better get his head on straight and quickly.

Mario barely dodged Melody's bullet!!

And thank you for explaining the scene where young Andrea was cruelly pushed down. What a horrid childhood poor Andrea had. I'm not only understanding her more but am sort of marveling how she manages to be kind and compassionate. At least most of the time.

From Wikipedia with more detail added in Italics:

-- Fernando reveals to Rafael that he was Roxana's lover.
-- Rafael tells Roxana that Fernando has already told him the whole truth. We did not hear the entire story, so we do not know whether Rafael is lying or not, as he did not go into detail.
-- Casilda is sure that Isaura stole Alejandra's necklace.
-- Michelle tells Paulina that she found a gun and a ski mask in Carlos' room.
-- Alejandra confesses to Lucía that she had to work as a prostitute in order to return to town for her; however, when Jacobo found out what she did for a living, he decided to take her away. She talked about poverty and made the Bingo square quote about "When money goes out the door love goes out the window." The whole encouter was awkward.
-- Michelle believes that Silvia sent the video to her brother and threatens to reveal her secret at school.
-- Diego tells Claudia that he loves her, but she assures him that nothing can exist since she is a prostitute.
-- Roxana looks for Alejandra to ask her for money, but she refuses. She is looking to pay back Rafael before he does something he should regret, but I don't recall her telling Alejandra that.
-- Michelle finds an engagement ring in Alfredo's house and believes it is for her.
-- Casilda takes off her mask in front of Leonardo. His facial expression indicated that hw was both confused and creeped out.
-- Lucía returns to Alejandra's house, but receives a call from Roxana who is willing to reveal her mother's secret.
-- Fernando discovers that his brother betrayed him. I believe Paulina was present.

Mujer de Nadie

Urban, muchísimas gracias for the highlights!

The Lucía - Alejandra discussion is screaming awkward.

Michelle now started blackmailing people? I guess making everyone in the telenovela upset and/or worried and consistently making the viewers angry got pretty boring for her after a while.

Claudia deserves better than controlling, sister-obsessed Diego. Earlier on I wished they didn't end up together, but that's where it's headed, sadly.

Roxana should get a life. Carlos should stop being... Carlos. Heriberto should stop existing.

Mexicana

Diana, SpanProf, Susanlynn, I got busy again, more stupid "Real Life" stuff that just interferes with my telenovela life   :-)

I have not been able to watch Friday's episode as yet, but I will today, hopefully.

Susanlynn, THREE telenovelas??? OMG! I find I can't really handle even two at the same time, and have pretty much resolved to watch one, max. If there is none that appeals, so be it, a break from telenovelas.

Diana, great that you will spend some "quality time" with your brother though we will miss you.

SpanProf, interesting about Napa and those vineyards; I expected something of the sort when I saw the helicopter Thursday. I'm probably becoming a bit telenovela cynical, but I'll bet it turns out much like Cupcake's visits to farms growing tomatoes and such for the company which underwrote part of the production for La que no podía amar.

Who wudda thunk it? Telenovela fantasies making me cynical   :-)

Mexicana. Of course, for many of the years i lived in Napa I wasn't old enough to drink wine. When I was older, I did take some of my college and grad school friends on winery tours. I'm from the town of Napa, and also for most of my childhood the vineyards were "upvalley," near St. Helena and Calistoga. We looked down on up valley people a bit, because unlike ourselves, they weren't really part of the Bay Area.

Mujer

Urban, thank you for the recap . We have a lot of evil , messed up people in this show. Lucia and Fernando are definitely swimming against the current as they cling onto as those around them trying to pull them apart. Will Ale be able to protect Lucia from Rafe and Roxy? Has horrible Heri given up on her?

Mujer

I doubt that Heriberto will give up, at least until he finds out that Alejandra is her egg donor. She is one to be feared.

Fernando should also look out because she is also against their relationship. She will do her beat to protect Lucia from Rafael, but she really doesn't like the idea of Lucia being in love. I don't know whether the reason for this is envy or the wish that Lucia be exactly like herself.

Mexicana

That looked like a fun helicopter ride! Sofía was definitely enjoying it; more fun than arguing with Mario, I suppose.

SpanProf, I really have no idea what vineyards should look like, but I agree that things did look rather dry and the soil sandy. But maybe that's good, I wouldn't know. "Mexican Gringo" sounds tacky to me for what should be a fine wine. I have no idea just what a fine wine is though. I don't drink wine other than sangría at Spanish restaurants and an occasional sherry after dinner otherwise.

Definitely some heartache in this episode, first Helena, realizing things were not as she had hoped, and then Andrea going back to a hurtful time via her memory box. Thanks, Diana, a new term for me, memory box.

René finally put his foot down with Andrea. René obviously cares about her, and she cares about him, but...

What gives with Univisión bleeping words? Sheesh, how are we going to learn them?

I'm looking forward to tonight's episode.
