Part 1 of 5
Alejandra told Leonardo that she was penalizing Claudia with a day off, knowing that she badly needed the money. He commented that this seemed drastic but she was determined to punish a lack of respect for their clients. Rafael arrived to give her good news but she also had some for him a lawyer (name escaped me) paid a visit to propose a deal involving foreign properties. Leonardo said nothing but remained alert.
Heriberto was outraged at having witnessed Gertrudis get her freak on with Pedro. [leaving us wondering why he is with a dried-up old prune when he could have a ripe, juicy peach]. She fired back that he did not deserve the respect he was demanding in view of how many women he had boinked [or raped] in that town. He countered with the sandal of her being with a cop “in my house!” Pedro reached for his pistol but she put up her hand to let him know that was not the right move. She reminded Heriberto that it was not his house and that her brother could refuse to cooperate with his future demands. He could end up in prison “...and we'll see what the town says.” He ordered Pedro to leave but Gertrudis said “No. Pedro will sleep with me.” “Don't try that,” Heriberto threatened. Gertrudis said nothing. She took Pedro's hand and led him away, presumably to her room. We are mercifully spared the sight of this.
Leonardo had delivered the bad news to Claudia who wanted to talk to Alejandra. He told her that this was for one day, but she apparently desperately needed a full week's pay.
Alejandra wanted Pilar to take care of something special but Pilar tried explaining that she didn't feel well. Alejandra – like any other toxic employer – was not ready to accept this. Claudia then entered her office to talk to her. She told the girl that she was suspended specifically because she needed the money she was going to lose. “That will teach you not to reject my clients.” She walked out. Claudia started after her but Pilar stopped her. She told her not to cry and said she would give her a day's pay but she was not to tell Alejandra. Claudia thanked her. Pilar told her then to inform her if any client becomes trouble.
Casilda tarted herself up again with a dominatrix theme and took selfies. She was about to send them to Leonardo when Lucia knocked on the door. Casilda threw on a robe before opening the door. She took the stuffed animal Lucia had and Lucia said “How pretty you look!”
Pilar greeted the client graciously in front of Alejandra and Rafael and Alejandra initiated the discussion regarding the properties, luxury apartments in other cities. It sounded like Alejandra and Rafael were looking to branch out. Pilar would take care of administration. A few moments later Pilar told the others she needed rest and politely excused herself. The man agreed to the deal.
Casilda begged Lucia not to tell Alejandra that she had ut on make-up. “She would kill me.” Lucia said this was normal and she would talk to Alejandra, but Casilda stopped her and said “Don't talk to her; don't tell her anything.” Lucia promised her silence if Casilda would explain why she was angry with her.

Rafael proposed a toast to the deal. Alejandra went through the motions as she was still annoyed at what she thought was hypochondria on Pilar's part. He was satisfied with the deal and asked what she
in exchange. She asked him about San Jacinto and he mentioned the shopping mall deal with Juventino. She said she wanted him made bankrupt. Rafael was hesitant. Alejandra also wanted Heriberto ruined and for him (Rafael) to stay away from Lucia. He asked why and she told him it was pathetic for him to fawn over her in view of his own wife having come out of her brothel.
Casilda answered Lucia's question by showing her the closed walls lined with photos of Leonardo. Lucia explained that Leonardo is an employee of Alejandra's, nothing else. She asked if Casilda liked him and got a nod. “Therefore, we can be sisters again,” Lucia said. “Yes, but secretly,” said Casilda, and Lucia agreed.
Paulina and Michelle sat on the couch drinking beer. Michelle desperately wanted to see Alfredo, but Paulina tried telling her not to waste her time or energy on him and to think of her family being worried about her. Michelle pointed out that Diego didn't treat Paulina well either. They drank to their common problems and Paulina told her she had been saving money to get her own place. Michelle suggested they live together [Is she even working?] and went on about being able to invite anyone they want to visit. [¡Paulina, cuidate!]
Rafael caught Roxana handling his cell phone. She demanded to know whom he sent flowers to. “A renter. It's a courtesy.” “Like when you were looking to conquer me?” she asked. He said he would give her all the flowers in the city if she demanded it. “If I catch you with my cell phone again, you will be sorry.” “You will hit me?” “Do you think I would stoop that low? I have other methods.”
Fernando checked up on Michelle, who refused to go back to their mother's. Again she refused to believe him when he told her that Lucia was a victim, just like her. She is still blaming Lucia for this situation, claiming she destroyed their family. [Mich, STFU. Fernando reminded her that she walked out on them of her own free will. He told her he loved her and that there were many men who could love her in a deserving way. She said she would forgive Alfredo. She called Alfredo's cell after Fernando left but got his voicemail.
Isaura failed to understand why Lucia was angry with Alfredo. Lucia tried explaining as Alejandra entered the room, having heard Alfredo's name. She asked why Isaura was defending “this predator.” Lucia started to explain what really happened but Alejandra mentioned Alfredo's construction being shut down. And the San Jacinto thing will go bust. Casilda came down in a good mood and Lucia said “How pretty you are when you smile” to which Isaura told her that she should not tell lies. Only the truth. Casilda looked at Isaura and told her “It's ugly to lie, isn't it?” Isaura got up, excused herself, and left the room. Casilda sat down and asked Lucia how things went with Fernando.
Michelle told Silvia she needed to get a job and Silvia obviously began selling her on the idea of work involving glamour. “It's a nightclub,” Silvia told her. Full of rich men and they are goddesses to them. Michelle seemed to know where this was going, but Silvia stopped her mid-word, saying that they cater to these men's fantasies. This didn't fool Michelle, who got up to leave, saying “That's the same thing.” Silvia closed the door and told her “Don't yell. The whole school doesn't have to know.” Michelle declined this and Silvia finally exited, calling herself an idiot for trying to recruit someone so stupid.

Part 3 of 5
Marta was upset at how Alfredo was deceiving two women at once, not understanding men who do this. Carlos had the gall to blame Lucia for all of it and Marta believed him, especially when Fernando's name came into this. Fernando came in and saw the “incriminating” photo on Carlos' phone. He knew that he was using it to gaslight their mother into thinking Lucia was an evil woman.
Nothing he said would convince Marta otherwise, with Carlos acting as Alfredo's accomplice. Fernando found it incredible that Carlos was defending him after he had hurt their sister. He left for work, saying he would prove everything to them.
Roxana had the gall to enter the talavera. Lucia told her that they weren't open to the public yet but would be soon. Lucia asked whether they knew each other because she looked familiar. Roxana told her that she was Rafael's wife. Lucia shook her hand and Roxana said “Tell me about yourself” then looked at the flowers. She admired them and naïve Lucia said they were from her husband who was very generous with free rent for the first month to give her a chance to make money first. Roxana said that he was a generous person. Lucia offered her coffee, she accepted and Lucia went to the kitchen area that was not yet fully set up. Roxana took the envelope and read the note as she told Lucia “without sugar.” She put it back.
Michelle had her car looked at and the mechanic said there was nothing wrong with it other than something minor about the clutch. She wasn't convinced. However, when he got closer to her some words were exchanged about her pretty friend and she kissed him out of the blue. He let her know he doesn't play those kinds of games, including her coming to see him under a false pretext. He walked away angry and she should have felt like a prize idiot.
The following morning Pedro left Gertrudis' house. When he was gone Heriberto (who had been watching) made a sarcastic comment about breakfast. She told him to pack his things or she would make him suffer for all his deceptions.
Lucia came out with the coffee, in cups that she might have made in the shop. Roxana started pumping her for information about herself under the heading of Starting Over. Lucia hesitated a little, only just enough as to not say anything before Rafael arrived. Roxana addressed him as “Mi amor” with an emphasized roll of the R and Lucia said something about Rafael's generosity. There was a tension between him and Roxana that we saw and Lucia didn't... at first. Roxana went on about how Rafael spoiled her when he was courting her and he was visibly annoyed. Lucia saw that.
When Rox and Raf exited he accused her of surveilling him. He was clearly peeved. She moved in to kiss him and bit his lip instead. She countered with not liking his current behavior. He didn't like her behaving like a jealous wife and she asked what it was; was he tired of her? He smoothly denied it, even kissed her hand, But told her to stay away from Lucia.
Lucia sent a text to Fernando, who happily said “I'll see you in an hour.”

Part 4 of 5
Leonardo entered the talavera to tell Lucia that her apartment would be ready in two weeks. She was happy until she realized she might not have enough money for the rent deposit. He told her not to worry; Alejandra would help her. Leonardo then suggested they celebrate by going out to dinner. She thought at first it would be a family thing but when Leonardo said it would just be the two of them she declined the offer. She told him to stop flirting with her and he asked if she had someone. Alfredo tried calling her but she did not answer. She did tell him that there was someone who likes him and he just had to open his eyes and pay attention.
Silvia entered the parlor in her usual skimpy attire and approached Diego. She knew who he was. He was looking for Claudia and she told him that Claudia had been suspended . He said he needed to talk to her and she told him they were forbidden to give out phone numbers. He asked where to look for her
She told him they were forbidden to entertain clients outside the club. Finally she told him that Claudia was in hospital.
Isaura was on a winning streak. Pedro was at her side. Heriberto entered and saw this. Then he was alerted to the arrival of Gertrudis and Juventino. When she saw Pedro with Isaura her mouth hung open like a newly-caught fish's.

Part 5 of 5
Diego found Claudia in a waiting room at the hospital. I didn't make out the reason she gave for being there but she was sufficiently annoyed with him to slap him when he tried to kiss her.
Michelle called Silvia while she was with a client. She had changed her mind. Silvia said “Very well, let me think about it.”
Casilda and Pilar were coming down the stairs when Pilar had a sudden pain in her left arm. Casilda told her she needed a doctor. Pilar went downstairs and Casilda began asking questions about her mother. She went silent and left when Alejandra appeared.
Fernando entered the talavera to find lit candles all over the place. Lucia appeared saying she prepared something for him. He asked what they were celebrating. She said that she would be taking a chance on love. Long kissing session. “Our story begins, Lucia,” he said.
Ouch! Andrea didn't use the "like a sister" bit, and Tyler didn't just shrug it off, but they didn't talk it out either. Just "we can't go there".
I enjoyed the cat fight between Viiyéri and Megan, and so did Brandon until Megan popped him one and made his nose bleed. Poor Brandon! :-)
Actually, Brandon was a bit of a wuss.
I'm impressed with the snow job that Brandon does on gullible Boni. And a little worried about Gonzalo's conversation with Helena. There are already too many men interested in Andrea. Ay, later he pretty much confirms his interest in Andrea while talking with Brandon. Pity.
I have been quite lenient with Andrea, but she continues to annoy and can be quite nasty. And why is she upset about René getting married? How many men is she interested in?
Sebastián is a jerk. Diego should just dump the guy and get used to Katya :-)
Poor Mario is in the dog house.
Andy
Terrific recap, Urban!
Michelle, Michelle, Michelle... Is there ANY room for redemption here?
Carlos is awful, he continues to team up with the man who cheated on his sister... Ugh. Poor Fer. He has awful siblings.
Couldn't care less about Roxana amd Rafael. They're starting to tire me.
Why do they keep using romantic stuff to end episodes? Boring...
The story that Ale said about Casilda's mom is most likely not true... I wonder what really happened...
Weirdo: I've wondered about STUPID Michelle. I do NOT see any redemption for her.
Something tells me the Body Count will increase in this Telenovela soon just saying!
Carlos is an uppity jackass!
Andy: Lucia just cannot seem to catch a break from the massive group of villains.
Carmen Aub is an awesome antagonist.
Steve Boudreaux
Thank you Urban for this excellent recap of all the madness! :)
Am I the only one who thought Mr. Car Mechanic was 1,000 times more interesting than our dear ol Alfie? That scene had more chemistry than anything we've seen from Michelle and Alfredo and I liked that guy's spunk. My guess is he won't be turning into a main character anytime soon but it did leave me with the impression that maybe things wouldn't have to go so badly for Michelle if she you find herself a real man...not that I expect redemption to come for her anytime soon but I think it's probably way too soon to guess if she is redeemable or not.
Claudia was in the hospital visiting her mom. I don't remember now what disease they said she had but probably cancer since it's the go-to. This is why Claudia took the job with Ale and why she needs her full pay - because she has to pay her mother's medical bills. Diego being actually concerned was unexpected. And didn't he give Silvia a wad of cash to get her to give him details on how to find Claudia? I don't remember for sure, but I am thinking he did.
Ale's treatment of Pilar was shocking to me! This woman is one icy cold bitch who is capable of treating even her best friend was callous distain. Makes you wonder why Pilar seems to be so genuinely fond of her.
I don't really care about Roxi but I did find it interesting and surprising that she is so jealous of Rafe!! She's in-love with Fernando (or so she says) but almost manically possessive of the husband she's cheating on.
They sure are setting up emotionally complex characters so far. There are very few two dimensional side characters and lots of emotionally fraught, vulnerable, and broken psyches. I wonder if they'll actually do anything to develop that further or honor it in anyway; or if they'll just torture everyone until they are dead, or in jail, or do an miraculous and unfathomable 180, or are the protags who somehow live happily ever after! LOL It'll be the second one no doubt.
I don't mind the romantic episode endings. Might as well have some happiness while we can. Both shoes are no doubt going to fall on innocent little Lucia's head sooner than later! Girl, enjoy your calm before the storm!!!
Halise sits with Kavruk and Zehra in the living room. She laments, I thought it was her. I thought that tonight Melek would sleep safe in her bed, but it wasn’t like that, Kavruk. I know anne, he answers, I’m very distressed, you can’t imagine how much. Be patient, I promise I am going to find her.
Halise reaches out an places her hand on Kavruk’s. Oğlum, how could I complain? I know how you have worked to find them from the moment they were lost. I know how you searched. If Sancar saw you, he would be proud. For that reason, don’t worry, Kavruk replies, they will free Efem soon. Inshallah. Halise says she’s going to bed, she’s exhausted. She gets up, pats Kavruk on the arm and bids them good night. [Notice that Zehra has been silent so far, and the newlyweds are sitting far apart on the couch.]
Kavruk tells Zehra he’s going to sleep. You look tired, he says, are you coming with me? I’m still not tired, she replies, go to sleep, I prefer to read a book. He asks, don’t fall asleep here and leave me alone. I’m used to falling asleep and waking up with you. When it’s dawn and I see you are not next to me, I get sad. Geez, she almost looks horrified by this, but manages to squeak out a “tamam”, okay. Kavruk goes and Zehra sits, looking troubled.
The ever present Yahya has brought Elvan and Gediz home. She thanks him. Of course, it’s no problem for him. He tells her, please, don’t always repeat the same thing. I am happy to help you. He asks, what time is you dentist appointment? Tomorrow afternoon, she replies, but don’t worry. Tomorrow is you brother’s hearing, and you should be there. I’ll take a taxi. But the hearing is early, Yahya says, we hope he will be freed. When I finish with that, I’ll come for you.
Elvan worries, you think they will free him? Are you sure? I’m not sure, Yahya replies, but I hope so. Inshallah, Elvan says, I hope that your brother can be free so he can go out and look for his daughter and wife. Allah, return them to Sancar Abi. Amen, Yayha replies. He says good night and tells her to call if she needs anything. Elvan’s phone rings. In her hurry to silence it, she drops the phone and Yahya picks it up. It’s Baristan Bey, Bora. Yahya is not happy.
Elvan is just happy that Gediz didn’t wake up. Yahya glares, hands the phone to Elvan and walks out. Elvan looks at her phone and sees it was Bora. I haven’t heard from you in months, she says to the phone. What happened now? We see Yahya listening by the door. Elvan continues, did you finally think about me? Or do you just want to keep playing? Guess what? I’m not that kind of woman. You never understood me, or you didn’t want to do it. She puts the phone down and sniffles. Yahya’s feeling a little better now.
Stupid Dudu drives to the olive grove office. She’s got the bugs. She’s met by a guard who asks why she has come. I came from the firm, I need documents for Sancar Bey’s case. He asks, does Zehra Hanım know about this? Look, I have to bring these documents to the lawyer asap. If you want to upset the family in the middle of the night, then you will say later it was your fault I was late. The guard lets her in.
They cut: Halise crying in Melek’s room and sniffing her clothes. Next, we see Kavruk sleeping and Zehra quietly enters the bedroom. She sits on the edge of the bed and watches him sleep. There is clearly something going on with Zehra. Next we see Sancar in his bunk and he looks at a selfie they took at Melek’s “wedding” ceremony. He cries silent tears. The son we hear is “Bir Fırtına Tuttu Bizi”, that we first heard in the rescue at sea eps.
Halise comes downstairs where Yahya is doing some paperwork. He asks, what are you doing here in the middle of the night? You ask me, she replies, but you are doing the same. It’s better you don’t ask, he answers. Halise gets worried, don’t tell me your brother will spend more time in prison. No, it’s not that, he says, I think they will free him. But I don’t have the courage to look at him.
Halise wonders why he’s saying this. You’ve worked day and night to help him. Your brother is proud of you. Yahya thinks not. I couldn’t keep the promise I made to him. I couldn’t find his -wife, I couldn't bring back his daughter. I don’t know where they are. I don’t even know if they are safe, I don’t have any clue. How can I explain that to him?
Halise understands and she feels terrible about that, too. Mavi appears in my dreams, she says, they are nightmares. I see her crying, desperate, asking for help. I had been cursing her for weeks, but perhaps they have been kidnapped by her ex-husband. I’m not sure, but it’s possible, Yahya replies, we know that Sedat is still missing. He disappeared as soon as he got out of the hospital.
Halise says maybe he sent his men to kidnap them and he wrote that letter himself. Yahya doesn’t think so. Sancar would have recognized if it wasn’t Mavi’s handwriting. Halise asks, so… where is that man? Why did he disappear? It’s a mystery, Yahya replies. I don’t think she left my brother. We knew that Mavi’s love was sincere. We all witnessed it. But then I remember even though I loved Elvan, I cheated on her. Unfortunately, we hurt the ones we love most.
This conversation is pointless, Halise says, we should go to sleep. But tomorrow, I will question the responsible person. Wait, Yahya asks, who? Don’t do anything without consulting me. Halise walks away. Wait, where are you going, he asks, I’m talking to you. He takes off after her.
Next morning, Guven arrives at the marina and there’s Halise, ready to confront him. Look at this, Halise exclaims, he doesn’t look like the grandfather of a girl who’s missing for months. What are you insinuating, he asks? I don’t have to insinuate anything, Halise answers, l can say it directly. Your granddaughter is missing, and you don’t look affected. Look at you and look at me. Which one of us suffers more?
You look like you always do, I can’t notice a change, Guven replies. You know where my granddaughter is, she accuses, you know but you won’t talk. If that psycho Sedat kidnapped Mavi and my granddaughter, it’s better you speak. Don’t torture me, please, or you will be responsible for my death.
Guven tells her to leave. I don’t want to have anything to do with you, not even your death. Anyone can see that I’m suffering as much as you. For that reason I beg you not to come here and accuse me of something that is not true. Stop humiliating yourself. Go to your son, because if anyone knows something about our granddaughter, it’s him.
You can’t say that about my son, Halise shoots back, he is innocent. I won’t allow you. He has spent months in prison. No one should suffer like that. They kidnapped his daughter and wife. I’m not blaming him in vain, Guven replies, don’t forget that. Don’t you dare mention my son, Halise says, don’t tell lies! You don’t have the right. He didn’t to that. I know him well. I’m his mother. [Turkish] if you even had a drop of conscience and for the sake of your granddaughter, you would have sent this Sedat from Mugla! Melek wouldn’t be missing now! He is responsible for everything!
Zehra comes outside and asks Halise to calm down. Guven is disgusted. This is no way to behave, he tells Halise, especially here. Zehra steps in. You can’t talk to my mother like this. But you are going to allow her to come and shout at me whenever she wants, he replies. Look, Zehra I know that you are bored with your marriage and that’s why you want to come to the marina that you never visited before or had any interest in. I haven’t said a word about it, but if you don’t know your place and speak to me like that in public, face the consequences. Wow! Guven leaves the ladies standing there.
Zehra turns to her mother. What are you doing? Why are you giving him reasons to upset us? Reasons to upset us, Halise asks, you think this is my fault? He’s right, you give the people reasons to talk. You’re a recently married woman. Why do you spend so much time at the company? Zehra responds, and I ask myself when you will meddle in my life again. What are you doing here? Why aren’t you at the hearing?
I came because I wanted to see you, Halise replies. Does it bother you? You didn’t dare go to court and you can’t stay home alone, Zehra says, I know that’s why you came. But you see it’s unpleasant here, too. Better you look for another place to pass the time. [how about an extended visit to Refika in Istanbul?] Zehra goes back into the building.
Sancar’s hearing. Yahya and Kavruk are present. Faruk makes his case: it’s clearly self defense. Sancar is freed pending the trial in three months. Yahya and Kavruk wait for him outside the courtroom. Geçmiş olsun. Let’s not make mom wait, Yahya says, she was sure you’d be freed today. She’s been preparing and cooked your favorite dishes. Sancar asks if Halise is still angry with Mavi. A hesitant yes, from Kavruk.
How could she not be angry, Yayha says, she took our Melek away. Mom misses her very much. I miss her, too, Sancar replies, I miss her so much. Kavruk says they are ashamed that they couldn’t find his daughter. We will find her soon, Sancar says, I have faith in that. Yahya adds, now that you’re out, it will be easier to find her. Let’s go see mom.
Sancar asks for his car keys and says he has things to do. Yahya questions, you haven’t kissed your mother’s hand yet, what can be the matter? Sancar promises he will be there for dinner and leaves. Kavruk says he hopes Sancar knows what he’s doing.
Yahya tells Kavruk, until the last moment I thought my brother had planned this all. That he knew where she was hiding and did it to protect them. But now it doesn’t seem so. My brother really looked worried. His eyes don’t shine anymore. My brave brother, how unlucky he is. He doesn’t have the same luck as you or me. I feel bad for what he’s had to go through. I wish he was happy like us.
We know what makes me smile, Kavruk says, but what is making you so excited? [Turkish] It just fell off my tongue, Yahya replies, it’s late, it’s time to go. Once you open your mouth, you don’t stop. You don’t shut up. Yahya walks and Kavruk smiles.
Guven’s got men tailing Sancar. They report he’s alone, no Yahya or Kavruk. Keep following, Guven orders, I’m sure he’s going to meet Mavi or a person that can contact her. Don’t lose sight of him.
Necdet comes into the kitchen wearing a hat and sunglasses. Good morning, fresh bread has arrived, my cookie! Gulsiye is busy and has her back turned. She tells him to put it on the table. He asks if there’s been any news about Sancar or Mavi. What are you doing, he asks? What do you think, she replies, I’m preparing the food. They freed Sancar and Halise called to tell me to get dinner ready.
Gulsiye turns around and sees Necdet’s hat and glasses. What happened to you, she asks, why the glasses? I didn’t take them off, thinking I’d go right back out, he replies. Look at me, Gulsiye says and asks him to take off the glasses. She removes his hat and sees his bruised forehead.
Why do you have bruises on your face, Gulsiye asks, what happened? Did you fight? She removes his glasses. Don’t worry, Necdet responds, you should have seen them. Those guys ended up on the floor. I did nothing but defend myself. Gulsiye is concerned. Look at how they hurt you. Does it hurt? She touches his face. It hurts. She tells him to sit and she will get a rag with vinegar.
Does this mean you worry about me, he asks? She just tells him to sit. Necdet notices the torn pieces of Mavi’s letter in a little pot on the table. Gulsiye says that Zehra couldn’t throw it out and starts to explain what was in the letter.
Necdet interrupts, don’t speak, don’t tell me, I don’t want to know. It’s not a secret, Gulsiye replies. No matter, he says and gets up, the walls here have ears. Someone could hear us and I don’t want problems. What if it slips out of my mouth? I prefer not to know. As you want, Gulsiye says and gives him the rag. Necdet smiles at her and says, [Turkish] I am ready to die for your kind heart. I would never hurt you. He says he has things to do, thanks Gulsiye and takes off. Who knows what you got yourself into, Gulsiye says, nothing will change.
Sancar’s driving and he realizes he’s being followed. He manages to lose the tail. The goons report back and Guven chews them out.
Sancar shows up at the deserted beach house. He looks around outside then he enters the house. Flashback to being reunited with Melek after Mavi helped her escape from Guven. Flashback to Mavi explaining how she managed to get Melek away from Guven. Sancar makes comments about Mavi wearing short shorts and Melek teases him about being jealous. He hears Mavi ask, how was your day? Melek says, mom and I made your favorite dishes. He walks into his bedroom. Flashback to waking up with Mavi in the morning. In Melek’s room, he picks up a doll. Sancar’s tears fall.
Johnny on the spot Yahya [do you know that Yahya translates to John?] is there waiting for Elvan as she comes out to go to her dental appointment. Yayha greets Gediz, [Turkish] look at Yahya Amca’s lion! So handsome and your mother dressed you so nice, too.
Elvan congratulates him now that Sancar is free. How is he, she asks, is he okay? I think so for now, Yahya replies. Why for now, Elvan asks. We are having dinner tonight [Turkish] and my mother is like walking gunpowder, looking for a place to explode. I hope she doesn’t do it with my poor brother who just got out of prison. It’s possible, Elvan says, we know her. She’s capable of anything.
Are you comfortable in your new house, Yahya asks, you don’t miss my mother? I can’t lie, Elvan replies, I’m very happy. My son and I are peaceful here and I’m grateful. You made the right decision, he tells her, I don’t want to be there either, but tonight I feel committed to doing it. You should come, he says, my brother misses you a lot, too. They want to see the baby, they ask for him.
Elvan says, if you think it will soften your mother’s heart, I’m sorry but I don’t agree. What moves us, never touches her heart. Yahya declares, who couldn’t be moved before this tenderness? He’s irresistible, adorable. He says, look at these cheeks, and pinches the baby. I’m about to eat them with kisses. Elvan speaks to Gediz, did you hear that? Your Yahya Amca wants to eat your cheeks.
Yahya asks Elvan again to come. [Turkish] Don’t tear us apart, I’m already used to the little one. When we are apart, I miss him very much. Elvan gives in.
Sancar is in his truck and it looks like he’s waiting for someone. It looks like a woman has come but we don’t see her face. You said it was urgent, Sancar says, I’m listening.
Kavruk waits outside the marina. Zehra walks out with an employee and compliments her on her work. Kavruk waves, I’m here. Zehra doesn’t look to thrilled to see him. Zehra explains to the employee that Sancar was freed, dinner has been prepared and she has to go. The employee thanks Zehra and tells her, I’ll go, don’t let your driver wait. Uh, oh.
Kavruk asks, how was your day? A lot of work, as usual, Zehra replies. Who was that woman, he asks, I think she’s new, I’ve never seen her. Do you want to give her a ride? She has a car, Zehra flatly replies, it’s not necessary. Zehra starts walking. He calls her back. Are you upset because I came without notifying you? Don’t imagine things, she responds, I’m not mad at you. [but she sure seems bothered.] Zehra gets in the car and Kavruk stands there baffled for a moment before getting in.
Next stop for Sancar, the olive grove office. Faruk and another man are waiting for him. It’s nice to see you, Sancar says, but I’m not happy. In fact, I’m disappointed. Five months have passed and there’s not a single clue! Answer Faruk! I told you to travel the world if necessary! We are looking, Faruk replies, the police abroad are helping. But there’s no trace. It doesn’t seem Mavi has left the country.
You think she’s here, Sancar asks? We’ve looked in each town… Sancar interrupts, I understand, you can’t find them. He sighs. Faruk says that Guven is also looking with no results. There’s no clue, no trace. We have an undercover man that keeps us informed. There’s nothing more we can do to find your wife. Sancar asks, my wife? Call her my ex-wife, understand? As soon as we find her, get the divorce ready. We must be prepared. That’s all for now.
We see that Guven has been listening via the bugs that Dudu planted. How interesting, Guven says, [Turkish] it really seems he’s been abandoned. Kahretsin… so they planted a spy, how wonderful. I have to find him, as if I had nothing else to do. I hate you, Sancar, I curse you every day.
Dudu enters and Guven calls her over. It was very good you planted those bugs. Sancar placed a spy among us, I heard them talking. You need to be very careful. Think about people we’ve recently hired. Regardless of the department, fire them all. I don’t want to risk it. As you order, Dudu replies.
Guven asks her opinion, do you really think Sancar is looking for them? Or is this part of his game? I don’t think someone could play for such a long time, she replies, and if someone had heard, they would have informed us. You would know. Guven says, it could have been like that before, but now I can hear them. And it’s all thanks to you. They laugh. Before she leaves, Guven has one more thing. The situation will get serious when Sedat returns, don’t act embarrassed. Okay, Dudu replies and leaves.
Sancar arrives at the mansion. Everyone is there, waiting. Lol, Elvan applauds. A very emotional reunion. One by one Sancar is welcomed home. Sancar kisses his mother’s hand. She cries and hugs her son. Don’t cry, he says, I am finally home. Are you alright, she asks? I will be, I promise, he replies.
Sancar asks about baby Gediz. Did you bring him? Elvan says he’s upstairs, sleeping. He reminds them he asked them to give out lokma in memory of Ceylan. They did so. Sancar tells Elvan he doesn’t know whether to give congratulations or condolences. When Yahya told me, I couldn’t believe it.
I didn’t expect it either, Elvan replies, although you know I really didn’t like Kahraman. But after I found out he was my brother… I felt differently. I was taken aback by the news. She looks around and says, better to remove those faces, fate wanted us to live this. May they rest in peace. They left this world, but… they gave me the best gift I received. May you live happily with your son, Sancar tells her. Amen.
And Elvan says she also has a wish for Sancar. I hope that you will be able to hug your daughter very soon. I wish that Melek quickly returns home. [Turkish] My prayers are with you, with Melek. As you are, so are we, abi. I know, Sancar replies, inshallah, inshallah.
Yahya asks Sancar, what do you say? Are you hungry? We have to go to the table. Mom and the girls cooked for you all day. Come on. Sancar says he will go change his clothes and come right back.
They cut: Elvan worries. She tells Yahya maybe she shouldn’t have come. It might not be good for Sancar to see the baby. Yahya doesn’t agree with that. He says Sancar would want her here. Don’t think like that, come to the table.
More cut: Necdet in the kitchen. He’s looking at messages on his phone from Guven: I’m running out of patience. If you avoid me, you know what I’ll do to you. Necdet sits and worries, what do I do now? On one hand, my beloved, on the other hand, the one I love as my own family. Allah help me.
Gulsiye rushes into the kitchen, Necdet help me with the plates! She asks if he’s feeling better, did the vinegar help? I’m fine thanks, my cookie, he replies with a smile. Gulsiye says, this is great, Sancar is free. Soon he will find Melek and Mavi. I trust everything will work out.
In the Turkish: Inshallah, Necdet replies. He asks, Gulsiye, if something happens to me, would you be upset? Of course, I would be upset, Gulsiye answers then qualifies it, a person can be worried about another. They beat you, but it’s in the past now. Necdet says, let me be beat or killed, I will not betray you. Gulsiye questions, what betrayal? Why would you die? What’s happening?
Necdet admits it was Guven who had him beaten so he would get info from her. Let him do what he wants, I cannot betray you! Gulsiye is stunned. And if he does something to you? Necdet replies, he won’t do anything, I’m not afraid. As long as nothing happens to you, don’t worry about me.
Halise calls out from the dining room. Why didn’t you bring the soup?! It will get cold! She tells Necdet she has to bring the soup now. It looks delicious as always my cookie, he tells her with a smile. She smiles back and heads to the dining room.
Necdet sits again and laments, what did I get into now? What will I do? I have to think of how to free myself from this, I don’t want to die. He looks upward, this had to happen when I find happiness?
And we are out.
Thanks, Dondi, I’m really enjoying this show. And thanks to your recaps I understand everything that’s going on.
I thought Sancar was at the Marina when the woman got in the car. And I thought it might be Dudu. Otherwise it would have to be a new character.
Zehra seems very unhappy. Hopefully not with Karruk, but it sure seems like that’s who she’s annoyed with.
I was surprised that Necdet told Gulsiye that it was Guven’s hoods that beat him.
I wonder if Sancar knows the bug was planted. I really don’t think he wants a divorce!
Elvan should have answered her phone, or called Bora back. Yaya is being very nice but he’s still Yaya!
Liz
Thanks, faithful patio! I love reading your very interesting speculations on Sancar, Mavi and Melek. And what’s going on with Zehra? How about the woman who met with Sancar in the truck? I know all the answers, but I’m not telling.
Gulsiye has turned a corner regarding Necdet. They are very amusing together, especially in Turkish!
Darcy, yes they needed that time jump, not a lot of time left in the story! Lol: the new improved Halise lasting for 3 minutes!
Lol, Beth S., when Sancar was arrested in Switzerland, Kavruk made the crack that Sancar’s been in every police station and jail in the region and now he’s been arrested abroad.
I’ve been team Bora ever since he showed up. Why don’t you answer his calls, Elvan?
I agree with you Niecie every time I hear the name Gediz I feel a twinge.
OT for Tuba fans
Her new Netflix series, Another Self, Turkish title, Zeytin Ağacı (Olive Tree), is set for release on July 28.
Dondi - you have a great memory - re: Kavruk's remark about Sancar and jails. After your mention, my brain circuits woke up and I recalled that scene. I loved Kavruk's sly humor!
He's a wonderful
Continuing my remark to Dondi...
Kavruk is a wonderful character, shy yet very observant of the world and people. Not much gets by him.

I haven't read the recap yet, I'm about to but I wanted to make this comment before I read and forget in the midst of everything else I want to say! LOL
I agree Liz, it was Dudu in the car with Sancar! At first, I thought it was Zehra, and it still could have been, but then when the subsequent scene happened in the office with Sancar declaring he wants a divorce I changed my mind. Sancar said to the woman in the car 'why did you need to meet urgently' Dudu called Sancar to tell him about the bugs in his office and then he used that info to intentionally go on that office rant and make Guven believe he wants a divorce....at least that's my theory! I haven't watched Thursday's episode yet either though, so I am going to first reap Dondi's awesome recap, then comment again, then go watch last night's episode and probably find out I'm already proven wrong! LOL
Dondi, your recap was absolutely fantastic as predicted! You're a talented and dedicated story teller and we appreciate it!!
I still think Zehra knows the truth and it's that secret that is making her uncomfortable, especially with Kavruk. I don't remember who said yesterday that they didn't know why Mavi would tell Zehra and not Kavruk, but it doesn't necessarily have to have been Mavi who told Zehra, Sancar might have. It was said that Zehra has been Sancar's mouthpiece while he was in jail and that he was keeping her super busy with all the work he had for her. He may have also been giving her instructions on helping to hide Mavi and Melek.
I also suspect Elvan might know something, just because everyone tells Elvan things. Including Nare when she first came and Mavi - everyone seems to naturally navigate to Elvan and she's very discrete. I can readily imagine she has been confided in. If so, it occurred to me that Bora may not be as out of the picture as it seems. When Yaya saw the name on the phone and then left the apartment but didn't quite shut the door, Elvan definitely noticed he noticed and noticed the door wasn't immediately shut. She might have said all that stuff 'to Bora' for Yaya's benefit to make him believe they aren't in contact.... I don't know, less convinced of this as I am of Zehra being in on the secret but it's a possibility.
Yaya telling Kavruk he talks too much was hilarious! :)
This episode was well done! I am still 100% convinced Sancar knows exactly where Mavi and Melek are, but this episode did a good job of planting doubts. The scenes with Sancar heartbroken at the abandoned beach house were very beautifully done.
Gracias, Daisy. I had forgotten why Claudia went down this path.
I suppose that Michelle has to be redeemed, as she has not yet done anything the law can punish her for. It would also be very cruel of the writers to leave Marta with only Fernando at the end. However, let's not forget who the producer is. I have recapped five previous series by her and only one had anything close to a happy ending.
Dear Dondi, you are so dedicated to bringing us these detailed , amazing recaps, and I am so grateful . I had a rough day today and had to do some sad things, so i was grateful to have some relaxing moments when I got home and could read this recap and the great comments and then watch last night's episode .
I think the writers have done an outstanding job this season , and it seems that they have decided to completely transform and redeem both Ya and Necdet . I like good guys , and I am tired of all the antiheroes so prevalent in movies and movies and tv shows These days. Give me heroes . I have, been surrounded by good guys my whole life, so I want to see them reflected on the screen. The actors are all talented .
My guess is that Ya and Du will end up together . Ya has changed so much . He has taken on many of his big brother's traits as we see their bond strengthen , whereas before Gediz and Kavruk were more like brothers to San than Ya.
I hope Elvan will bring sweet, positive, easygoing Bora into the family, but maybe the writers didn't want to give everybody a HEA. I say why not . Or as our Judyb liked to tell us " Nobody gets a happy ending , but if you are lucky , you get a happy middle . " And in the end love is stringer na ban death when you truly love someone . Life has to end, but love doesn't . True love goes on .
I wonder if we will get any closure about what happened to Nare or if the writers decided to let her evaporate .
SpanProf, I'm sorry to hear that the Spam Monster is now giving you a hard time. It too often eats my comments and really annoys me.

About Andrea, I absolutely agree that she was nasty and downright vicious with Érika, and unnecessarily. She had gotten what she wanted, there was no need to rub salt in Érika's wounds.
One further thing that was unkind, and also a bit startling, was that when Andrea was leaving she stopped to make a hand sign to Érika. Last three fingers curled, she pointed her index finger up, with her thumb perpendicular, to the side, forming an "L" for "Loser".
When did that stuff arrive in Mexico???
All in all, very disappointing behavior from Andrea. Especially upsetting as I liked her despite some character defects; I will admit that I do tend to give attractive women the benefit of the doubt :-)
Speaking of annoying (but male) eye candy, I think that the scene with Brandon out of the shower, wet and just wearing a bath towel, was for the women what likes that sorta stuff :-)
But also tacky and silly. That was his mother he was talking to and, aside from that, and call me fussy if you will, I prefer to actually dry myself before I get dressed. He just started pulling clothes on.

Susanlynn, hmm....that is really weird because I remember reading your comment early today so it WAS published but now it's gone....blogger is playing with us today!
Sancar is distressed. They push food on him, but he doesn’t eat. Yahya notes he hasn’t said a word. What’s wrong? We are family, he tells his brother, if something makes you uncomfortable, say it. No one here will be offended. You’re right, Sancar replies, I’m not myself and I’ve been quiet because I didn’t want to upset anyone. The difficult days will pass, Yahya tells him, I promise I will bring my “yeğenler” back (gender neutral - nieces, nephews). Trust me. Sancar pats his brother on the back. It’s not necessary to say it, Sancar responds, you’re my brother and I have faith in you.
Halise comments, oh my sons, this is what I like, that you are supporting one another. But next time pay attention to your mother. You have to trust what I tell you. Mom… Yahya shoots Halise a look to stop her. Don’t look at me like that, she replies, you won’t make me stop. Everyone in the mansion knows what I think about Mavi and I’m right. Don’t you see? It’s not enough she took the baby, she also took Melek with her.
Sancar puts his hand over his eyes and tries to keep silent. Halise continues, [Turkish] from the beginning it was clear that she only needed a child. That woman tricked you, she stole your heart. After, she kidnapped your children and ran away. She was never interested in you.
Thank goodness Yahya finally speaks up. Mother, you surprise me with the ease with which you change your opinion. Yesterday you were worried about Mavi. Yes, I was worried, Halise admits, but when I saw Sancar’s eyes I changed my opinion. The light has disappeared from his eyes. He’s like the living dead. I hope Mavi gets what she deserves.
Don’t wish her harm, Sancar says. Halise asks Sancar, you shut your mother up to defend that woman? Mother, please, he says, this is between Mavi and me. I ask you not to interfere. I understand your words, but I’m going to find her and when that happens, I’m going to divorce her. Subtle look of pleasure on Halise’s face. I think everyone but Halise has lost their appetites.
Sancar is out on the porch. Kavruk comes. Sancar keeps his back turned to him. They do nothing but question me, Sancar says, go ahead, I’m listening. What do you want to know? I won’t do it, Kavruk replies, but you know what bothers me? Sancar turns around. What is it enişte? You can tell me, I’m listening to you.
Kavruk starts, Efem, Mavi doesn’t seem like a woman who runs away from difficulties. She’s brave and she loves you. I don’t think she changed so suddenly. I don’t understand how she could go and do this to you. [Turkish] or am I misunderstanding love? Maybe it changes a person so much. Or love, like life, is a completely unreliable thing.
Sancar has an answer, we still have a very long way to go in understanding love. He asks Kavruk, better you tell me, are there problems? Is my mother bothering you? Are you alright with Zehra?
No, Halise anne had not accepted me, Kavruk replies, but after you went to prison and Melek was gone, your mother began to love me, care for me, she’s good to me. Like a son. Sancar is very pleased to hear this. Zehra must be happy, he says. She will be, Kavruk answers, when we find Melek. [Turkish] The main thing is that everything is fine with you, Efem.
Sancar says he’s going to sleep. I have things to do tomorrow. Kavruk calls, wait. Efem, may Allah give you peace. But if you need me, let me know and I’ll be here. Sancar gives him an enigmatic look and goes. Kavruk looks unsettled by his problems.
Sancar is up in Grandpa’s room. He gazes out the window. Flashback to when he and Mavi saw the shooting star and Sancar made his obvious wish. Sancar is smiling at the memory and keeps gazing at the stars. That is until Halise knocks and enters.
Is everything alright, he asks? Yes, Halise replies, but I came to see if you needed anything. I’m okay, thanks. Good night and she’s about to leave but… Listen to me, she says, I want… I want you to know that I can’t live apart from you, my son. Especially when we are angry at each other, I feel bad, I don’t have a minute of peace. In the past five months, I thought of all my doings. I did a lot of bad things that that hurt you and I regret it. Can you forgive me? [for the millionth time]
It’s all in the past, Sancar says, it doesn’t matter. He’s teary. [Turkish] My lamb, my only one, Halise says, if I could only ease the pain in your eyes. You miss Melek very much, I do too. Nothing is the same without my granddaughter. Mother, I need my daughter, he says, she’s my only reason to keep living. Halise asks a question, do you also miss that woman?
Sancar hesitates and takes a breath. Do you really want to know my answer, mother? Yep, she sure does. I don’t miss Mavi, he answers, because she’s dead to me. In the last five months I buried all of the memories I had with her. [does anyone really believe him?] Mavi was everything to me.
[In the Turkish, he said quite the opposite. He missed her because he loved her. He counted every second and minute of the five months that passed without her. The time went slowly. She became his life. You pick which version you want]
Remember I would die for you, Halise tell him [and I wish she would], I would sacrifice myself so you would not cry or suffer again. My unlucky, my dark eyed only one. I love you very much. I adore you. She hugs him. My son. We will be okay, he says, you will see.
Next morning Sancar is ready to go to the olive grove. Halise wants him to have breakfast first. He says he already had something, and she goes. He makes a call. We see Guven listening. Sancar says, I’ll be at the pier in a half hour, okay? See you. Dudu is with Guven, he tells her, see this is part of his game. He will reach Mavi by sea. Guven calls for a goon. Tell the others to get ready, we are going to leave soon.
Yahya comes downstairs and silently stands with Sancar. Sancar says nothing and hands his brother his coat.
Guven is thrilled. He tells Dudu, I know I’m going to bring you good news and he leaves. Dudu sends a text: Guven swallowed the bait. He left.
Zehra and Kavruk get ready for the day. He says if she’s ready, he will take her to the office. No thank you, she replies, my brother might need you. Kavruk says, I called him. He doesn’t need me. Let’s go I can take you. I want to go alone, Kavruk, she answers, why do you always insist? I want to spend more time with you, he tells her, I’m sorry for insisting. She’s sorry and says that she hasn’t felt well lately. [Turkish] Melek’s absence has a profound effect on me. If we could only find her.
I understand, Kavruk says, this is because of Melek. You worry about her, but you are cold with me. You are nice to all the world but not like that with your husband. I seem like your enemy. Was there something I did that hurt you? Please, Zehra, you only have to tell me. I told you no, she replies with some irritation, why do have to exaggerate and make everything more difficult?
What should I do, Kavruk asks? You don’t even look at my eyes, you don’t take my hand. You walk away every opportunity you get. Listen, Zehra, it’s obvious, you are bored with our love.
Zehra puts her bag down and sighs. I think love is easy, but marriage isn’t, Kavruk. I’m trying to get used to it. I am your wife, and you are my husband. Give me time because I have to get used to the idea. Don’t pressure me.
Poor Kavruk says he understands. But one thing is sure, it’s me, I’m still the same, the old Kavruk is in front of you. This is my voice, my scent, my knowledge and my ignorance, if all this makes you unhappy, then you can leave me when you want. I will give you a divorce if you ask. Kavruk leaves, Zehra’s all shook up. [you don’t deserve him, Zehra!]
Guven arrives at the marina and sees Sancar’s truck. He calls for binoculars. Guven spots a man standing on a small boat quickly heading away from shore. It’s Sancar, he exclaims, I’m sure he’s meeting them. We have to follow him, do something, fast! The goons approach a man on his boat. We need a boat, we will pay well. The man prepares to go. Guven shouts, I want you to follow, don’t lose sight of him. Keep me informed! Hurry! Guven looks through the binoculars again. I knew it Sancar, you would take my granddaughter as soon as you left prison.
We get a brief overhead shot of a house off another shore. We also get a quick look at the back of the man with the black coat who is being tailed by the goons. He’s got his hood up. Looks like Sancar’s coat. Is it Sancar? The man in the coat is almost to the shore. Guven calls a goon for an update. Goon says, we are about to arrive at Sessizkoy. They could be hidden there. It’s a silent and lonely place.
The man in the coat has landed and is seen running from the shore.
Guven enters the marina building. Dudu is there Why are you still here, Guven asks? I told you to take the rest of the day off. I stayed to work on the sales report, she replies, I didn’t want to leave without finishing it. Can I ask you something, taking advantage of your being here? He says let’s go to the meeting room.
The goons have landed and take off after the man in the coat. We see the man in the coat watching them. It’s not Sancar, it’s Yahya!
Yahya heads back to his boat. Lol, he’s even walking like Sancar! Yahya leaves. And so does the other boat. The goons come running back to the beach. They realize they have been tricked.
Dudu and Guven are discussing the report. Guven gets a call and excuses Dudu so he can take it. She leaves but leaves the door ajar and listens. The goons give Guven the bad news. We followed the wrong man. It was Sancar’s brother. They knew we were following them. It isn’t true, Guven says in disbelief. Dudu smiles. The goon adds that the fisherman on their boat was in on it and now they are stranded. Guven explodes. Idiots! You are useless! It will be better if you don’t return here! Guven throws the phone at the door. Dudu makes a quick getaway.
Dudu calls Yahya. From Guven’s reaction, I can tell it worked, she says. I suppose Guven is very angry, Yahya replies. He threw his phone against the door, she says. Yahya thanks her and says, I won’t forget this. You don’t have to thank me, she answers, I didn’t do it for you, I did it for Sancar.
Flashback to Sancar waiting and a woman gets in his truck. It was Dudu. First she congratulates him on being freed. He knows that’s not the reason she wanted to meet. No, I have to tell you something important. Dudu takes a breath. She hesitates. Sancar says, if Guven and Sedat threatened you, you have no reason to be afraid. Tell me.
You’re wrong, she says, this isn’t about me, Dudu says, they are after you. They are using me. They asked me to place microphones at the olive grove so they can listen to you. And now they are pressuring me to place them in the mansion. Look, Sancar, you have helped me so much and Yahya has too. I don’t feel calm. I don’t want to betray you or your brother.
Sancar thanks her for informing him. You didn’t have to do it (meaning tell him), he asks, why did you decide to admit it? Guven and Sedat are very bad people, she replies. They don’t want you and Mavi together. In this story, I want nothing more than to be happy, but I also want you to be happy, too. He thanks Dudu.
Tell me what you want me to do, she says, I’ll tell you where the microphones are so you can destroy them. After that, I’ll quit my job. No, Sancar replies, we will keep the ones you put in the olive grove. Go and tell them you will put the other one in the house. You can visit Gulsiye as an excuse. I’m going to tell you where to place the microphone.
We get another flashback. At the mansion, Sancar hands Yahya his coat. Are you going to meet Mavi, Yahya asks? Sancar doesn’t answer. Okay, Yahya replies, I won’t ask. Sancar fixes the coat on Yahya and Yahya pulls up the sleeves a la Sancar. They leave. End flashes.
We see Sancar somewhere, getting into a pickup truck. New look for him, he’s wearing a baseball cap. Next we see Sancar walking along a deserted beach. Overhead shot of a house. [too bad, they cut Sancar hopping the gate] Sancar walks up to the house, looking around to see if anyone is following.
Sancar opens curtains at the entrance of the house. It looks like no one is there. He looks around and picks up a doll. A door opens and Sancar smiles wide. It’s Mavi. They embrace. Finally, she says, you don’t know how much I missed you. I missed you too, he replies, I missed you so much.
Let me look at you, she says then kisses him. She thinks he’s lost weight and looks tired. These were difficult months, she asks, how have you been? It was very difficult, he replies, too much. [Turkish] Not receiving news from you was most difficult.
Sancar kneels down and puts his hands on Mavi’s stomach. How is the baby, he asks? He presses his ear to her belly and says, how are you my son? [He did say “oğlum” in the Turkish] The baby is doing great, Mavi tells him, the midwife came, we listened to his heartbeat, but we didn’t see him on the screen. We will go together, Sancar says, we will go and do it together, you’ll see. I am back and I won’t leave you. They kiss. We missed you very much, Mavi says, don’t leave us again. They hold each other tight.
Flashback. We see Sancar and Mavi run through the woods. They stop and he tells her, I won’t be able to escape, this time I will turn surrender. She nods, that will be best. But I don’t want to leave you alone, he replies, that bastard didn’t die. He won’t stop until he hurts you and my children. He will ally with Guven and hurt us. Sancar, I will leave here, she says. I’m going to go away. I will get out of your life.
A cut to Mavi with Melek in the woods. Why are we here, Melek asks, who are we running from? Why are you so sad? We see Sancar pacing. Mavi tells Melek, we aren’t running from anyone, everything will be fine, don’t worry. okay? Give me a minute to talk with your father.
Mavi asks Sancar, why did you bring Melek here? How will she get back? She won’t go back, Sancar replies, she will go with you. What? How can she come with me, Mavi responds, are you sure? Sancar explains, when I give myself up, Guven will take custody of Melek. I will not let that happen. If Melek goes with you, she will be safe and I’ll turn myself in. Then what do we do, Mavi asks, where will we go? I can’t take her out of the country.
If we are not under the same sky, I will go crazy, Sancar tells her. I took care of everything. You will stay in a secret place. Later I will take you to a safe house. After that, I’ll turn myself in.
Cut to the family of three making their way to the safe house. Melek complains she’s tired. Sancar tells her to hold on, just a little bit more. They make it to the house. Sancar says no one will find them there. Melek thinks the house is beautiful. Mavi sends her inside.
You asked me to write a letter, she tells Sancar, here it is. What does it say, he asks? I wrote I couldn’t stand that you had a weapon. That I will go with Melek to a place that’s safer for both of us and that I wasn’t going to forgive you. I know your mom will be very angry, but anger is better than all the suffering.
Sancar thanks her and says, sooner or later I will be free. We will overcome the obstacles. She asks how. You said Sedat is still alive, Guven will help him more than ever. He takes her face in his hands. Don’t lose hope, he tells her, no one will overshadow our happiness. We will have peace soon.
Mavi takes off her “E” necklace and gives it to Sancar. Take it. But this is very precious for you, Sancar notes, this is Ekim’s. That’s why I’m giving it to you, Mavi replies, if you take it, you have to come back and return it to me. You won’t get into trouble again. You won’t lose your temper and no one will drive you crazy. Because you have to come back to us. I promise I will return, Sancar says, and I’m going to be alright.
Melek comes out and says, it’s very beautiful here. Sancar tells her that she will spend time here together with Mavi. I’ll come back when I’ve fixed my business. Enjoy this time. When will you be back, Melek asks? Sancar looks at Mavi and then he answers Melek, be patient, my love, I don’t know yet. But I will never leave you, neither you nor your brother. You know that, right? She nods. Please forgive me, Sancar asks. We will be together again. You believe me, right? She replies, I trust you, dad. He kisses her. He gives Mavi a hug. They hold tight. He sniffs her hair. He turns and goes and doesn’t look back.
We go right into another flashback. Sancar enters the beach house and leaves the door ajar. He knows he’s being followed. He picks up a letter from the table and starts to read. just as the cops and Guven come through the door. Sancar Efeoglu, we have a warrant for your arrest. End flashbacks.
Sancar takes something out of his pocket. It’s a bracelet he made in prison. This is for you, he says, and he slips it on her wrist. It’s beautiful, she replies. A thank you kiss. He takes something else from his pocket, it’s the “E” necklace. He closes it in Mavi’s hand. [Turkish] It’s what you have entrusted to me. And he kisses her hand.
Melek enters the house. Dad? My daughter?! She runs to him, and he squeezes her tight. I love you, Melek. Let me look at you. He kisses her. She kisses him. Mavi joins for a family hug. Lots of kisses.
This was the end of Turkish ep 50 out of 52 and we are out!
Dondi, this was such an empactful episode that I was both shocked and not surprised at all! LOl You covered every second of it as you always do,, and I was left wondering:
Did Yaya know EVERYTHING, or just enough to know Sancar was headed to Mavi.
Did Kavruk know anything or nothing at all? I still believe Zehra knew all the entire time...
Dudu was team Sancar as I suspected previously but will this earn her Yaya points?
WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT?
What do Zehra and Elvan actually know and what effect will that have on Kavruk, Yaya, and Borah??? How will this tale finally end???
Sebastián is an ass, and Diego should be happy to be rid of him, but he probably won't be.
Poor Katya can't get a break where her father is concerned. Just when she really needed a father, she encountered the man she thinks is her father and he rebuffed her a second time. Pobrecita!
It was a bad day for Andrea: She did not get her way about the credit card, and she looks upset and jealous about René's upcoming wedding with Zulema. I always figured that Andrea and Tráiler would get together by the end, but maybe not. She unexplainably has a thing for René.
Then the 'Men are No Good!' mother/daughter conversation. Yeah, but honey, let me tell you a few things about women if you have a few weeks to listen.
Luis and Boni's plan seems to be working to the extent that Marcia thinks that Luis is now a sophisticated man about town. Luis?? Is she crazy??
It really hurt poor Marciuca at the watering hole, when the server asked what Gladys's mother wanted. That server is not very good at his job if he could do that, but for this point in the novela it serves a purpose. Marcia is another sweetheart, and I'm delighted that this novela has so many sweethearts. I want to see Marcia's spirits lifted soon. A new suitor for her would be nice, she and Luis would be both playing the same game, but Luis would go over the Craziness Borderline again.
Still, if things go right both Marcia and Luis will learn a few things and be better people and a better couple. (Marcia should run far, far away from Luis, but I don't think that's going to happen.)
At first I wasn't impressed with the actor playing Luis, but I have come to see that he's actually quite good, as are most or all of the actors in this show.
Doña Maty did look beautiful in the wedding dress, and she's having a great time.
What new evil lurks in the heart of Andrea? We'll see Monday.
Andy
Dondi, thank you for every detail and your side comments . The writers were playing with us, but I guess viewerville knows Sanjar pretty well by now and figured he knew exactly where Mavi and Melek were because he is a true galan to the core and protecting his loved ones is his highest priority.
After making a !ot of mistakes in seasons one and two, Ya is turning into a good guy galan in training . Halise ....still a selfish tyrant who thinks she is the queen of her family.
Kavruk looks so much younger without his mustache , but he has returned to his submissive , slouching shoulders look. How ironic that Values is now suddenly embracing him as a son while his beloved Zebra has turned cold . What is up with Zehra's abrupt change of character ? Doesn't she like being married ...for whatever reason ????
This show seems to be putting forth the idea that tigers can change their stripes ...Necdet, Ya, Du, Zehra. Are we convinced?
Well, Bora seems to have vanished into the mist as several characters have ...Gediz, Kman, Ceylan, Nare, Meanie .
Found the major things that happened on Capítulo 14 on Univisión's official site:
• Alejandra tells Pilar that Casilda shouldn't find out who her mother is.
• Lucía and Fer spend a romantic night together.
• Roxana finds out that Lucía is Alejandra's niece.
• Lucía is kidnapped by Heri!
I didn't really pay much attention last night. The only thing I remember happening that was impactful was that Michelle is actually considering becoming a prostitute to MAKE MONEY FOR ALFREDO!!!! Can this girl get stupider???
Oh and the kidnapping! Lol of course, Hero had Lucia cornered but Gerti and her boy toy showed up to intervene. The episode ended with a gun shot and we don't know yet who (if anyone) was shot. Lucia or Heri
After my last post, I realized that I hadn't connected with my friend at Televisa in a LONG time and I would be lying if I were to say that a LITTLE part of my intentions and desire at doing so sooner rather than later was also so that I could find out the dirt for you guys as to what's going on (bad, aren't I?)
So, we had a nice 2 hour WhatsApp conversation and I got the digs on upcoming features in the works for you all. :-)
I think everybody already knows about the sequel to "Corona de Lagrimas" but for those who didn't- there is one. Same producer, same cast (minus Adriana Louvier as 'Olga'... Geraldine Bazan- the wife of Gabriel Soto before Irina Baeva came along- is taking her place). Ana Belena (of DTA) is also in this one.
I think you also are all aware of 'Vencer la ausencia', too. It just had it's big "Presentation to the Media'' that all novelas have, and thankfully someone decided to make a video of JUST the actual TRAILER itself (as opposed to the other 1 hour and 50 minutes of interviews of interviews and questions, wherein all of the actors just talk about how terrific it is, and how much they love everything and everyone, which is standard...) I'm just going to copy and paste the link to it, for anyone that is interested. Here it is:
https://youtu.be/okVU3Ah0QcM
The protagonists are Mayrin Villanueva, Alejandra Barros, and Some Little Girl (the actress Mariana Garza's daughter, actually. Mariana Garza is also in this one, playing her own daughter's mother, which is kind-of precious...). The male leads are David Zepeda (for Mayrin), Alexis Ayala (for La Barros), and Danilo Carrera (for Ariadne). Andres Garcia (Pepe Pepe from MFEA) is Mayrin's son, and Nailea Norvind and Laura Carmine are the antagonists.
Carlos Moreno (ENDA, CME, most recently 'Fuego Ardiente') is also back as a producer. He is doing a remake of 'Ha llegado una intrusa', which was remade in the early 90's as 'Vida Robada' The story is about a girl with no family who has always lived and studied at a private school, even though she has never known who her mysterious benefactor is. Her best friend is a rich girl who has also lived and studied at the same school, who decides to make a break for it and who we find out is actually a horrible person. We find this out because our young heroine takes her place in the Bestie's household and if you think it sounds a lot like ''La Usurpadora''... it isn't, really. Because things at the house are not at all what they seem to be. Sr. Moreno is going out on a limb here in doing a novela whose leads mandate that they all be, well, YOUNG... in that he can not cast for strength with the sure-fire 'name-draws' (i.e.- Boyer, Rulli, Soto, etc., etc....). His leads are Macarena Garcia (who was the lead in the loathesome and mostly-unwatched "Like") as our young heroine, and Isadora Vives (SND) as her "best friend". The male leads are Diego Klein's body (with Diego Klein), and Andres Baida ('Betito'' in the recent remake of LRTL). Magda Guzman's grandson Chris Pascal (most recently in DTA) is an antagonist, and the cast also features the return of Karyme Lozano (not seen since 'Quiero Amarte'), the always terrific Arturo Peniche, an actress that was VERY popular back in the 80's and 90's- Alma Delfina, Luis Felipe Tovar (MFEA), Laura Vignatti, Kuno Becker, Ana Layevska and, in the important role of ''villana madura''- Claudia Ramirez. And if she can be anything like the magnificent villain that she was in ''El color de la pasion'', then I will be a happy boy. :-)
Casting in this one is complete. The main leads are Barbara de Regil in her first production with Televisa, and Matias Novoa (currently the lead in 'La Herencia'), and Diego Amozurrutia (most recently in the 'Cuna de lobos' remake) and Eva Cedeno as the villains. Rebecca Jones stars in the role Daniela Romo had in 'Sortilegio', and we also have Mar Contreras, Christian de la Campa, Felicia Mercado, Raul Coronado, Lourdes Munguia, Ricardo Franco, and Roberto Ballesteros.
This is what is in the works, anyway, at Televisa. God knows what you all will get, Univision way (Salvador Mejia's 'Corazon Guerrero', starring Gonzalo Garcia Vivanco, is almost finished in Mexico, and both Ignacio Sada's 'Contigo si' (with Alejandra Robles Gil, Danilo Carrera, and Brandon Peniche) and Angelli Nesma Medina's 'Amor Dividido', with Gabriel Soto and Eva Cedeno both finished a little while ago, but the odds are unlikely that Univision will air any of the three of them due to mediocre ratings (they were 'daytime' telenovelas, which Univision usually eschews...), but I hope that you all found this hopeful.
One OTHER thing that my friend told me about, is that the Network is curious as to the 2023 premiere of a Telemundo telenovela, called 'El Conde- amor y honor', which is going to be remake of "The Count of Monte Cristo', and this is primarily because it is a Telemundo presentation that stars, basically ALL major Televisa actors are no longer under an exclusive contract with the network.
And what a line-up it is! Fernando Colunga (at 56 years of age) is the hero, Ana Brenda Contreras is the heroine, and in the supporting cast we have Sergio Sendel, Chantal Andere, and Marjorie de Sousa as the villains, alongside Helena Rojo, Omar Fierro, Alejandro Avila, Victor Gonzalez, Jessica Coch, and Leticia Perdigon! If that isn't a knock-out Televisa cast, then I don't know what is!!!
Anyway, it is nice to be back with you all. I hope that you all found this interesting and useful, and send you my best wishes from here in Turkey. :-)
Thanks, Darcy, for adding info about last night's episode!
Stevey, thanks a lot for the information about the new telenovelas by Televisa. Hello from Greece!
Thanks Stevey for all the info on the up and coming!!
I really hope you are wrong about Corazon Guerrero not coming to Uni! I have been waiting for that!! And hoping :) I actually watched the first several episodes of the Televisa broadcast and I was LOVING it!!! I stopped watching because life got complicated and I went to spend time with my mother who is ill. My family doesn't watch Spanish language TV shows so I couldn't keep up but I was LOVING that show! I would guess if they had ratings issues it would probably be because the basic plot of the novela is a little over done and people could feel like they seen this story a few hundred times...but I really liked the cast and the characters were quirky in ways you don't see done over and over again. It was a very watchable show.
Slight rewind. Sancar returns the “E” necklace to Mavi. Sancar and Melek are reunited. Family hugs and kisses.
Sancar looks at Melek and notes how much she has grown in his absence. Yes, dad, Melek says, I missed you so much and she kisses him. I missed you so much, too, he tells his daughter. He asks her forgiveness for putting her through this. Don’t say that, Melek replies, it’s not your fault. It was the bad people. You are the best father. I love you very much. [Turkish] Oh my smart, beautiful, and merciful daughter, Sancar says, I love you very much, too.
Mavi asks Melek if she wants to show something to her dad. Yes, Melek answers. She tells her father, look at what mom, my brother and I did. She brings him over to a wall. Sancar smiles and wipes his face.
Nihat brings Guven a new telephone. Lol. Guven issues an insult. Why do I continue to hire men so stupid to be fooled? Why can’t I find someone more efficient? Nihat apologizes, I assure you that this won’t happen again. I hope so, Guven replies, if it happens again, it will be better if you don’t return.
Guven asks if there’s any news from Sedat. Nothing. Guven is put out. As if I’m not busy enough, I have to explain this to him now. Guven sees that Sedat has called him many times. Hello Sedat? I have good news. You were right. Sedat is driving. He asks, did you find Mavi? Guven says it’s complicated. Unfortunately, Sancar evaded my men. But I am sure he met with Mavi and that means she is hiding nearby. It won’t be long to find her.
You’re joking with me, right, Sedat replies, I already knew this! And you want me to think this makes you less incompetent? Guven answers, I’m going to ask that you don’t talk to me this way. If you won’t say anything nice, then don’t speak. Look Guven, I’m very upset, Sedat warns, I will send you a location. Come meet me. Guven says he’s sorry but he’s very busy now and he’s not going to come. Sedat issues a threat. Either you come right now, or I will go talk to the police.
Wait, Guven asks, why would you do that? What the hell will you tell them? For example, Sedat says, [Turkish] I’ll tell them about laundering money you’ve sent abroad. I think they will be interested. Guven is surprised, how did you know about this? Does it matter, Sedat replies, I’m going to send the location. Sedat hangs up. Guven asks Nihat to get the car ready.
Back to the safe house and the special wall. Melek points out to Sancar that this was for his birthday. We see picture of a cake “iyi ki doğdun babacım” – glad you were born dear father. She explains you weren’t here, but we celebrated anyway. Sancar beams. Melek says, mom baked a cake and my brother and I blew out the candles. What do you think?
Sancar looks at the board, it’s filled with photos and drawings and a calendar of months he was away. Mavi says this is what we invented, “Sancar saati” - Sancar hour. Melek nods. Sancar hour? Mavi explains, at two o’clock, Melek told me about her memories with you and I told her mine. We tried to guess what you would be doing at that moment. Melek adds, most importantly, we dreamed. We would go on vacation to Italy, France and Spain. We will travel and my brother will accompany us. Melek and Sancar rub Mavi’s baby bump.
How beautiful the both of you are, Sancar says. He places his hands on Mavi’s face, you are my life, you are my everything. There wasn’t a moment when we didn’t think of you, Mavi replies, I wanted you to know. Sancar looks at the photos. Melek took them, Mavi says. Sancar’s wiping happy tears.
Melek has one more thing to show her dad. Look, I wrote in this diary for you. How my brother was growing, how my mom took care of me. Everything we played and drew. Sancar looks overwhelmed. Mavi tells him, five months is time we can’t get back. He nods. She adds, but we can make more memories. She wipes his tears. We didn’t do this to make you sad, she says, we did it to show you how much we love you.
I know, Sancar replies, the is the best gift you have given me. Besides, I promise you, we will never go through this again. Mavi asks him if he’s hungry. Sancar says they can prepare a meal together. Wait, Melek says, why don’t you two go outside so you can be together. I’ll take charge here. Wow, Sancar says, I think you are already an adult. Mavi agrees and says, you should have seen her. Melek says go, what are you waiting for? I’ll talk to you when the meal is over. Now you know how to cook, Sancar asks? Then I’ll go spend some time with my wife. I’m dying to try what you prepare.
Elvan and Gediz are in the store. And guess who stops in? Yahya. Look how mom and son are so happy, he exclaims. Mashallah, may it be so forever. She tells him to come in. He’s all smiles and she notices his good mood. I’m going to tell you something, he says, but I’d like you to keep it a secret. She immediately guesses that Sancar has found Mavi and Melek. Yahya is surprised. He asks, how did you know?
Elvan is overjoyed. She asks, where have they been all this time? I have no idea, he replies. But from what I understood, they are fine. My brother arranged it all and went this morning. He is finally reunited with them. Why didn’t he say anything, Elvan wonders, we were upset all this time. Yahya explains that Sancar didn’t tell anyone. Only he and his wife knew. He kept it a secret. But he needed my help to visit them, Yahya recounts proudly, so he sort of told me.
Elvan gets it. What if someone accidentally slipped with the information. Yahya says when they join forces, no one can stop them. They make the best team. Not many people can experience being such a good team with their partner, right? [A pointed remark, if ever.]
Gediz starts to fuss. Yahya talks to him and goes to pick him up. Come to Yayha Amca. We hear a very clear baby voice: “baba…. baba” Elvan and Yahya are stunned. What did he say, Yahya asks? He said dad. Yahya picks the baby up. He gets emotional. I can’t believe it, my boy called me dad. Hello, my love, you called me dad. I love you so much. He called me dad.
Guven and Sedat meet at some vacant house somewhere. Guven starts to explain, when Sancar said he was going to the pier, we followed him. But he sent Yahya dressed like him to mislead us. What’s worse, is it worked. Sancar is much smarter than you, Sedat replies. You failed again!
Guven tries to defend. He fooled all my men, what can I say? But now I know that Mavi and Sancar have met today. I’m sure of it, there’s not the slightest doubt. You made an effort for months without finding her. And in one day, I found out that Sancar was hiding them and that they are here. I know that Sancar will make a mistake very soon. I am losing my patience, Sedat warns. He explodes, do you understand? I don’t have patience! I’m not going to wait for Sancar to make a mistake! I will force him to make the mistake! Enough! Sedat throws a chair.
Guven tries to calm the beast. Not gonna happen. I’m sure that Sancar has a spy among us, Sedat shouts. Guven calls him paranoid. A spy? How could you think that? You’re a smart man, Sedat replies, think. If he didn’t have a spy, how did he know we had microphones? How did he evade you? You said he went to the pier. If that idiot didn’t know we were listening to him, how could he fool us?!
Sedat continues to rant, who knows what else the spy told him?! That’s how Sancar knows each step we take! Damn it! He kicks some furniture and is about to smash a glass door. Sedat! Guven stops him. Guven is thinking, wtf did I get into with this lunatic?
Mavi and Sancar sit and cuddle outside for their alone time. This isn’t enough for Sancar. He asks, do you have a secret room in this house? Have I changed much, she asks? When you are shut in a place and you are pregnant, you have many cravings. I ate a lot. He smiles, you ate a lot? He grabs her face. Your cheeks are full, but it suits you well. You look even more beautiful than when I left.
[I make a note here for KPA fans. Mavi said in Turkish that she ate a lot of sweets. That’s what Elif craved when she was anxious.]
She covers her face. Stop, Sancar. Maybe you should always be pregnant, Sancar comments. [Turkish] First we will take this baby in our arms, Mavi says, and then we will see. Inshallah, there will be many children, he replies. Three… five… as many as Allah will give us. She asks, did you say five? We will be a big family, he tells her, this suits the grandson of Mehmet Efe. She laughs. I thought I wouldn’t have one, and look at me now. Let our son be born healthy first. Then I’m ready for anything with you.
Sancar asks, Mavi? Do you still think this is a boy? But what if it’s a daughter? She clicks her tongue, it isn’t. I know. The midwife even told me that the shape of the belly signals it’s a boy. They say the shape is wide if it’s a girl, and if it’s elongated, it’s a boy. This is all new info for Sancar, lol. Mavi says, besides, he kicks very hard. So he is like his father, Sancar says. Of course, Mavi replies, let him be like his father. Let him be as good a person as you. [or as she said in Spanish, “he will be a very attractive man.” How about both?]
Sancar tells Mavi he came to take her to the mansion. You can’t stay here, it’s far from the hospital. The baby is going to be born soon. Besides, I am not a fugitive anymore and I can protect you. If anyone sees Sedat, they will arrest him. Mavi doesn’t look sure about that. You say you’ll take me to the mansion, but what about Melek? Melek must stay here, Sancar replies, I will bring my mother. Guven has custody and he can take her out of the country. I can’t protect Melek for now. I’m not going, Mavi tells him, I won’t leave Melek.
Back to the store. Yahya tries to get Gediz to call him dad again while Elvan works. Elvan finally asks him to shut up. Don’t keep asking him to call you dad. I’m fed up. Okay, he replies, but you heard he called me dad. Yes, Elvan says, but he’s a baby and he’s been watching you all day. It’s obvious he got used to you. It will be better if you don’t get used to it. Why not, Yahya asks, what’s wrong with it? She reminds him, didn’t you say it would be enough to be his uncle? This is not going to work.
Yes that’s right, I said that, Yahya admits, but what can I do if I feel like his father? We have lived like this for months. It hurts me when I see him sad. And we are both happy to see him smiling. You love him very much and became his mother. And so, I became his father. He sees me as if I am. And you say I don’t deserve it? Please, Elvan, give me a chance. Let me be a father to him, and you… She interrupts, shut up, Yahya. Don’t comment. You still love that man, Yayha asks? Elvan glares at him and is about to unload, but a customer enters, an elderly woman. Yahya quickly leaves.
They cut: Elvan prepares the woman’s order. The woman asks, did you have a fight? Elvan admits there was a quarrel. The woman offers advice. There is a child here. He can bring distance or closeness. Have a little patience. As soon as he starts walking and talking, it will be better. He is a very sweet child! Mashallah! Like his mother! Elvan thanks her but she’s rattled and goes to pack the wrong herbs. Oops. The woman leavesElvan with something to think about.
Back to the safe house. Sancar explains that they are under pressure with the custody. The lawyers worked months on this, but they don’t know what else to do. Look I’m free, but the case continues, and it won’t be over for months. I can’t protect my daughter for now. I don’t want to risk losing her.
I won’t leave Melek, Mavi repeats, she will feel you abandoned her, and she won’t see her brother born. Melek and I have been waiting for this for months. We will make it, don’t worry. Sancar says he understands. But we have to be near a hospital, it’s dangerous. Mavi says that giving birth is a natural process. My mother gave birth to me at home. We are two months away. I’m sure by then the custody issue will be resolved. If it isn’t, I can give birth here. I have a midwife. She will make sure we are okay. You are with us now. You, the baby, Melek and I, don’t separate us again, please.
Sancar is very concerned. [Turkish] One cannot doubt the will of Allah, but why does he send us such trials? We had such a beautiful life and we still would if it wasn’t for those psychos. You’re right, he tells Mavi, I will find a way to correct this. We will be alright. What are you thinking, she asks? He smiles, you are with me, my children, too. Let’s ignore what’s happening out there today and enjoy ourselves now as a family. Mavi likes that idea. Let’s do it.
Sedat is calmer now. Nihat brings a bag which Guven hands to Sedat—medicine. [should be anti-psychotics] Sedat tosses the bag aside. Guven says, you’ve been through many things, you almost died twice. [third time the charm?] Sedat laughs, I won’t die until Mavi pays, don’t worry. This is exactly what I refer to, Guven responds, do you realize what this obsession has done to you so far? You haven’t been able to recuperate. You’re out of control.
That which you call obsession is my reason to live, Sedat replies. Guven tries to talk sense. Mavi is not going to go with you, you know that, right? It’s easier for her to kill herself than go with you. And the worst is that you also know it. Then we will both die together, I really don’t care, Sedat answers. Maybe we can try something else, Guven proposes. I can send you abroad, to Greece by boat, and you could go wherever you want. What do you say?
Sedat says, [Turkish] so you don’t need me anymore. Don’t forget that thanks to me, you got custody. I didn’t forget, Guven replies, I have custody of my granddaughter. Nevertheless, I haven’t been able to see her because…. Sedat finishes that sentence: because they are afraid of me. They are hiding because I can hurt Mavi and the baby she carries. And that’s why you are looking to send me far away, right?
Guven says he’s only asking this to allow Sedat to get some rest. Besides, this could be good for the both of us. You know you can’t beat Sancar in your current state. Sedat blows up, I won’t give up, Guven! Understand?! I will crush anyone who comes between me and Mavi! I don’t care if it’s my enemy or my ally. Sedat places his hand on Guven’s shoulder and cautions, you should not interfere in this, otherwise you will force me to tell the police about your scams at the marina. Sedat starts walking. Guven asks, where are you going? To find Mavi. Guven tells Nihat to get someone to tail Sedat.
Nihat reminds Guven that a doctor is waiting for him at the marina. Guven forgot about that because of Sedat. Let’s go he says.
They cut most of the happy family scenes. What a shame. But we see the family of three, soon to be four, enjoying a meal out on the beach. Did you notice Sancar feed Melek?
Guven meets with his doctor, and he asks, you were able to contact my acquaintances abroad, right? Look, if there is anything that can change the results, please do it. The doctor says he spoke with everyone. I contacted everyone on your list. We must talk about the process instead of the results. Guven gives a pained sigh. The doctor tells him that planning will be helpful. I no longer recommend thinking about the result. Guven places his head in his hands. Sounds like bad news for the ambassador.
Dudu is in her office and she gets a call from Yahya. He asks if she wrote the letter. She’s writing it now. [Turkish] You told me about all the excitement that happened, he says, you didn’t work long. Why didn’t you leave here? I talked to my brother, we would send you wherever you want. We would give you all you needed. You wouldn’t have a problem. Why did you stay here?
If I disappear, it will call more attention, Dudu replies, I prefer to stay in Bodrum, I don’t want to leave my house. Okay, he says, let me know when you quit. I’ll have my phone with me if you need anything. Call or send a message. I promise I’ll come immediately. Don’t worry, Dudu says with a smile. [does she still think she has a chance?] He tells her, if I don’t hear from you within a period of time, I will come to the marina.
Kavruk is in the living room with the ladies of the mansion. He relates what Yahya told him about Mavi & Melek. It’s not much. Halise is upset with Sancar, he didn’t tell her anything once again. Ay, I unjustly accused that poor woman, Mavi. Zehra is not paying attention to any of this, she’s working on her laptop. Halise continues, I can’t believe I said such horrible things to him. [we believe it] She raises her hands and looks up, Ah Allah, what did I say? Allah, please do not accept my curses. Do not fulfill them. And my granddaughter, Melek, has been away from home for months, I’m sure she misses me like I miss her.
We had no way of knowing, Gulsiye says, you have no reason to torture yourself with this. It’s good that now you know, and you repented. Besides, Mavi is a very strong woman and she can take care of Melek and the baby. Halise asks Zehra if Yahya said anything else. Do they have someone to help? Zehra is only focused on her laptop. Uh, oh, she’s looking at real estate listings. Halise calls, Zehra!
Zehra startles and immediately closes her laptop. Leave that computer, Halise orders. Kavruk’s not looking happy either. Zehra babbles she has no idea if anyone is helping because Yahya doesn’t know either. Kavruk stares at Zehra, who looks mighty uncomfortable.
Dudu is stopped from seeing Guven because he’s in a meeting. But doctor is on his way out and Dudu slips by. Dudu places her resignation letter on the table and thanks him for the opportunity he gave her. She tells him she feels she lacks enough experience and doesn’t want to let him down. Guven stops her there. He accepts her decision. You’re free to do whatever you want. Tell them to give you the rest of your salary plus an extra month. Thanks for everything. Dudu didn’t expect it to be this easy, she thanks him and tells him to take care. Guven is obviously trying to process the news from the doctor.
Dudu walks down the street and checks in with Yahya. She lets him know it went very well. She asks him about Sancar. He’s fine, Yahya replies, he won’t come today but tomorrow I’ll see him at the olive grove. Come if you want. He can thank you for what you did, and we can talk. We can discuss your job. Dudu is good with that. Yahya thanks her for her friendship. Don’t thank me, she replies, I will always support you and your family. Thank you. Dudu hangs up the phone and giggles and sighs.
Uh, oh. Sedat stops his car. Hi Dudu! Oh, did I scare you? [be afraid, Dudu, be very afraid] Not at all, she replies, I was distracted, sorry. How have you been he asks? She hesitates. He asks, aren’t you happy to see me? She quickly recovers, what? No, sure, I’m happy to see you again. He notes that she’s addressing him in the formal.
He gets out of his car. He says, [Turkish] is it that the one whom the eyes don’t see, is no longer loved by the heart? Not at all, she says, I was thinking about where I had to go. I’m sorry, Sedat, it’s better I go. Now you are running away from me, he asks? What, she replies, why would I run from you? That’s what I’m saying, he tells her, why would you do that?
We haven’t seen each other in so long. He asks, if you don’t have anything to do, let’s go to dinner together, what do you say? [just say no, Dudu] Dudu tries to make an excuse, she has something important to do. [Turkish] What a shame, he replies, if someone saw us, they’d think this girl has a reason to run from this man. I just offered to have dinner and you came up with excuses. You’re right she says, I always made excuses for you. But I can’t stay long, I must do something important. Sedat opens the car door for her, and dopey Dudu gets in.
It’s dark out now and Sedat is still driving. Dudu looks alarmed. Uh, we’re going so far. She asks, couldn’t we go to a closer place? Somewhere in the city? [Turkish] He replies, are you the kind of woman you can take to a café? Tonight’s dinner is something special. Dudu has a look of silent panic. Sedat tells her he knows she quit the marina. [Turkish] I thought now that you and I don’t have a business relationship, we can more openly confess our feelings to each other. Dudu says nothing.
Sedat tells her she is going to love this place. I arranged everything for you. It’s beautiful. He puts his hand on hers. Sedat stops the car. It looks like they are in a very secluded spot outdoors on the water. There is a table set for two and two servers. [hey, are those the same lights Bora had in his campsite?] They are welcomed and make their way to the table. The gentleman psycho holds the chair for Dudu.
You arranged all this for me, Dudu asks? I told you how much I missed you, he replies. He places a shawl around her, and he asks the servers to start. Dudu smiles and we get a glimpse of Sedat’s psycho look.
Gediz has a fever and Elvan is feverishly trying to help him. The door bell rings. Who else could it be? It’s Yahya. He asks, what happened? He’s ticked. If I hadn’t called, you wouldn’t have told me. Elvan says she’s going to use cold compresses. Yahya touches the baby. His fever is high. He fell asleep a while ago after crying so much, Elvan says. I gave him something for the fever. Yahya wants to bring him to the hospital. It’s nearby. Prepare his things, hurry, let’s go.
Will they help, Elvan asks, what if something happens? [well then wouldn’t the hospital be the best place to be? unless it’s that deathtrap that killed big Gediz] Yahya assures Elvan nothing will happen. He is a strong boy. Let’s go. Elvan is a wreck and Yahya stays calm and tells her what to do.
Dinner with Dudu. Sedat asks, tell me, what are your plans? For work, or what, she asks in reply. In life, he says, I thought about returning to Istanbul. I spoke to Guven and we’re going to open an office there. And if you want, you could work there with me.
Dudu thanks him, she appreciates it, but she plans to stay in Bodrum. I’m used to it here, she says, I don’t want to go. Then why did you quit, he asks, you aren’t happy with us? No, she replies, it’s nothing like that. Working in the port was a very good experience for me. Especially as a manager. But now I think I want to start my own business.
What would you do, he asks, how would you do it? Have you thought about it? I’m still thinking about it, she replies, I’m going to ask for a loan. [Turkish] Once it’s authorized, I want to open a shipping business. Who knows? Maybe we could work together. She laughs.
Inshallah, Sedat responds. What about your ex-fiancé… Yahya Efeoglu? What part will he have in this business? Dudu is surprised by this question. Nothing, she says, he won’t be involved in this. He knows nothing about this. We don’t see each other. [Turkish] We parted very badly. He hates me.
Sedat starts laughing. What did you do, he asks? Tell me. Are you a naughty woman? Dudu feels very uncomfortable. She looks around. Sedat laughs again. He tells her the servers are gone and he will serve her now. He pours her water. We are alone now. He leans in, did I tell you that you are very beautiful today? Seriously, you are.
Totally creepy. How will she get out of this?
And we are out.
Thanks, Dondi, that was excellent. Dudu should have gone with her gut feeling and kept walking. I feel like she quit too soon anyway. It would just arouse suspicion. I guess if Guven hadn’t been so concerned about the doctor he might have questioned her decision.
I feel like too many people know that Sancar had hidden his family away. They will be discovered before the HEA conclusion. But at least Halise knows and will be a little nicer.
Yaya got on my nerves with his going on about the baby calling him Papa. Where is Bora? Is he gone for good?
Yes, I bet Guven is sorry he got mixed up with crazy Sedat. Although he’s pretty obsessed too
Liz
Well see what happens when you do the right thing.
Yeah Yahya is a bit irritating but jeez Elven take the kid to the hospital.
Ok how did Melek and Mavi survive for five months? Where did the food and so forth come from? You can see houses right by there. I thought Guven, the police and Karuck had explored every habitation. Did Mavi crochet that pregnancy outfit? I am so confused.
I am head butt Fev.
Thank you Dondi! Your tireless dedication in bringing us this spectacular recaps as been so amazing!! I appreciate it so much!
I really didn't like this episode at all! It felt....weird and pointless. It was so out of place, so many so good so careful episodes and then you get this....and I ask you, why go to all the trouble to hide Mavi and Melek from EVERYONE, lie to EVERYONE about it for months, if you are just going to announce to the whole household the very day you're reconciled that you have reconciled and it was all a lie?? If the danger was over I could see it, but since Guven has custody of Melek and Sadat is still breathing that's weird...and pointless.
Having Dudu resign three minutes after Sancar reconciled with Mavi was just plain sloppy and so out of sync with that was just a carefully crafted ruse yesterday....and yeah that poor girl is in big trouble now.
Suddenly Elvan is a bumbling helpless mother who doesn't know what to do and Yaya is the baby whisperer that knows exactly what to do, exactly which treatments will and won't work and when it's time to go to the hospital???? And he did go on and on and on about the baby calling him Papa, it was annoying! It was cute though when it first happened, that kid looked angry and Yaya's face was the picture of joy and happiness it cracked me up!
I guess Zehra didn't know the secret was WTH is her issue? It's weird. She was so in love and now she's a caged animal. Does she feel guilty? Like it's her fault this all happened to Sancar? Because that's silly, as you reminded us the other day Sancar gets arrested all the time! He was going to end up behind bars and away from his family again sooner or later.....lol
Grr...the whole thing just frustrated me so much. I was so enjoying all these develops and so excited to see what they would do next and now I feel like they just dropped the ball but considering how close we are to El Fin, Mavi and Melek had to be discovered sooner than later somehow.
Dondi, thank you for another wonderful account of this story racing to its end .
The reunited family scenes were lovely , but we know that with evil crazy Sedat fuming and fussing , they will be found soon and Uh n jeopardy get again . Did anyone know that San has hidden Mavi and Mele K away, or was it a secret from everyone ?
Yikes, what does Sedat plan to do with Dudu? She finally stepped up and did the right thing.
Guven seemed to have health issues , and he seems to finally be realizing that he cannot control Sedat . (My tablet always changes his name to "sweat." )
Ya is a lot. He seems to have truly become a better man, but he is ..a lot.
And what is up with Zehra? Why is she so cold to poor, cringing Kavruk nkw that they are finally married and haughty Halise has accepted him into the family (as shattered as it is right now)
I am hoping for at least a few HEAs.
OT..Dondi, I just watched " Ask Sana Benzer" starring Burak Ozcivit on YouTube . Have you seen it ?
When my youngest nephew was a baby he called every woman in our family that he was close to mama. Mama was mama of course, grandma was mama, I was mama; I wouldn't get my hopes up too high Yaya, Gediz might call Nedec papa next! :)
Darcy, you're not wrong . Babies throw around the" mamas and dadas...or in Turkish babas.
The writers are really teasing us about who Elvan will end up with. Hey, maybe she will be a single mother ...not easy but she could do it . Yahya is very sweet with the baby and seems to have good dad instincts . Would the writers be cruel enough to let him grow so close to Baby Gediz and then not let him reunite with Elvan to form a family unit ?
I will be disappointed if Guven just gets to die of some health issue. I think he's the worst villain in this show. He's actually the worst villain I can remember seeing in quite a while. Sedat is more dangerous and psychotic (as was Akin) but that's just it, they are crazy, absolutely irrational and just unhinged. Guven is a completely lucid, stone cold, heartless monster! The type of man that would try to give his daughter to her rapist without so much as batting an eye!!
Thank you, everyone! We are headed into the final week!
Somehow M & M managed to stay hidden for 5 months. Fev, if they don’t edit, we will get “beanie” explanations for that. Trade your cowhide beanie for a beachy beanie.
Think back to those scenes where people told Sancar they were looking his family or when Zehra told him they “found” Melek. And Guven was 100% convinced Sancar hid them. That look on Sancar’s face was panic that they would be found.
Sancar realized he needed help to reunite with M & M. Yahya had to be the one and Yahya has a big mouth. Too bad Sancar couldn’t use Kavruk. I am sure he would keep a secret if Efe asked, but physically he couldn’t be a stand in for Sancar. I was surprised they had Kavruk tell the ladies, it seemed out of character. He can usually read Efe’s mind and know the right thing to do.
Guven told Sedat he was waiting for Sancar to make a mistake. While I wouldn’t say flat out Sancar made a mistake, there’s an opening for Guven and Sedat.
Darcy, you’re right, Dudu quitting 3 mins. later was odd, especially since she said she didn’t want to arouse suspicion. Liz, you’re right, Guven was so distracted by the Dr. visit that he didn’t care about Dudu. But Sedat cares, and he’s way more dangerous than Guven.
I also hated that they made Elvan stupid to make Yahya look good. I don’t care if Yahya is a “baby whisperer” (lol, Darcy!), he’s an irritating idiot.
Why bother to edit a very short scene of the family day? Fans posted the complete scene on Twitter.
I officially hate Zehra. And the actress who plays her is awful.
Susanlynn, I had to smile at your comment about writers being “cruel enough”. There are many examples of their cruelty in the dizi and film world. On that note, I have seen Aşk Sana Benzer with Mr. & Mrs. Burak. Ugh.
Just saw your comment, Darcy, and ITA. Some characters don't deserve forgiveness or redemption. I would put Guven AND Halise in that category. I can't say more about this without spoiling.
I hope we have a good ending with lots of HEAs . Life is cruel enough . I at least want happy fiction .
OT..regarding " Ask Sana Benzer"...was your "ugh" for the show or for Mr. And Mrs. The scenery was beautiful. I have become a fan of Mr. After seeing him in 5 shows.
The "ugh" is for the very Turkish ending. I love Burak Özçivit! I've also watched Kardeşim Benim 1 & 2 (comedies) and Can Feda (war movie) I need to find time to start watching Osman. Maybe after Embajador ends. I'm not watching any summer rom-coms this year.
BTW - Mr. & Mrs. Burak are expecting their second child.
