RGV Chick: I'm assuming the upcoming Telenovela with Claudia Martin will be replacing "MUJER DE NADIE".
Steve Boudreaux
I would hope that Univision would go back to 4 novelas in Prime and put Rosa in daytime where it belongs.
I'm disappointed. I thought this would have more. I had high hopes for this, I thought it would have ~100.
So, we are already half way there. Ugh.
Steve, Tyler either knows something by now or he's one of the dumbest bunnies in Mexico.
SpanProf, yeah, as much as I like Gladys, and I very much do, this is not her best moment.
Nacho looks a little nervous. Is he afraid of Mario or Sofía? Ah! Definitely Sofía! We'll see if Sebastian's colleague can help. It's about time Sebastian did something decent.
What a lout Diego is! He forgot that it was his and Katya's one month anniversary! :-)
(I wonder if she counted from the day she got him fired from his prior job.)
René was really working poor Tyler, convincing him to talk him up to Andrea. Which Tyler did, much to Andrea's dismay, and mine.
So now both Andrea and Tyler are miserable, with no easy way out. But we have time.
Kind of depressing. I need more Chabela with her disapproving looks and her "Santa Virgen de los frijoles!"
:-)
Andy
Hi all, here's your recap:
Roxana calls Lucia and asks to meet with her, she tells her she has some information on Alejandra that Lucia has to know. Lucia agrees to meet with her but surprises Roxana by bringing Alejandra with her, Alejandra tells Roxana that Lucia knows everything about her past- including the fact that she was a prostitute. Roxana backs down and does not tell Lucia about Alejandra owning a brothel.
Alejandra later covers her tracks by telling Lucia that Roxana's marriage is going up in flames and that she has a prenup and Rafael is going to leave her with nothing, she says Roxana came to her asking for money and when she refused Roxana decided to spill the beans about her past as a way of getting back at her. Alejandra also tells Lucia that given her social position she's made a lot of enemies.
Ugh, do I really have to talk about Michelle and Alfredo? I hate them both. Anyways, the dumb bunny known as Michelle finds the engagement ring that Alfredo had bought for Lucia and assumes he bought it for her, he's furious at her for her snooping but in the end he had no way of explaining the ring and ends up proposing to her- but he asks her that she keep it a secret from everyone until they can plan a party to announce the engagement.
Fernando finds out that Carlos set him up to be robbed- he's upset and calls the police to turn Carlos in but he can't bring himself to do it.
Rafael and Lucia meet- they agree to continue to be friends and not allow what happened between Roxana and Fernando tarnish their friendship.
Isaura finds out that Pedro bought the stolen necklace and assumes he bought it for her.
Heriberto goes to see Gertrudis, he tells her Pedro is just using her and will ditch her when a younger woman comes along, he takes the chance to call Pedro a gold-digger and rips the divorce papers up. I'd totally divorce someone who shot me, but maybe that's just me.
So Gladys is stealing from Tyler SpanProf? Miss Goodie Two Shoes? There’s a twist.
I only saw the last few minutes and was wondering why Andrea looked so devastated. So Rene was behind whatever it was Andy.
Thanks for these details. I will keep them in mind when I’m able to start watching later this week.
Diana
Casilda reveals to Leonardo that he's been sleeping with her and not Silvia, Leonardo can't believe it and tells her that he's disgusted by her, he then leaves and fires Silvia. Casilda promises Silvia that she will get her her job back and goes to see Leonardo but he tells her that both she and Silvia played him for a fool and that Silvia won't be getting her job back, he also tells Casilda to never, ever speak to him again.
Fernando comes to see Lucia and he tells her what Carlos had done, Lucia says that Carlos needs to face consequences for what he did- Fernando gets a phone call from his mom who tells him Carlos came home drunk, Fernando and Lucia go to his house to deal with Carlos.
Lucia should not have gone, Fernando's mom really does not like her and then she has the bad luck of Michelle showing up, she tries to explain to Michelle that Alfredo is a rat bastard that is still trying to get with her but as we have established Michelle is too stupid to see that Lucia is telling her the truth.
After much back and forth between Fernando, his mom and Carlos, Carlos decides to turn himself in to the police, for some reason the mom blames Lucia for this? (like, bro, why is it her fault that your kids suck?) and demands that Lucia leave Fernando alone.
*side plot about Gabino's son offering Pilar a lot of money to stay away from his dad, he says that if his dad continues to see her he will end his relationship with his father. What a jerk*
See you all next week!
Princess Juju, thank you for the recap of all the crazy .
I am surprised that Roxy didn't tell Lucia that Ale is a madam .
Michelle is indeed a dumb bunny. I cannot stand the scenes of her and creepy , smarmy Guy.
Pedro and Gert scenes are also cringe worthy. I think the wardrobe department hates Gert as much as Heri hates her . Will gigolo Pedro give her the necklace ?
There are so many disgusting people in this show. I am mostly watching Fernando who is a good guy in the midst of evil all around him. ...his brother , sister, and partner. I am also fascinated with Rafael who looks like a lion circling his prey...slow , steady, creepy. His relationship with Roxy is odd.
If we are truly now at the hump it's time for the villains to start falling. Didn't Marta have a bad vibe about Alberto from the beginning? She is too willing to believe the lies about Lucia. The way she ordered her to leave Fernando alone was disgusting and completely wrong. I hope he gives her hell for that.
Some tech genius should invent a device that finds hidden cameras.
Amazing recap, Juju!
"Like, bro, why is it her fault that your kids suck?" had me laughing. So true.
Susanlynn, I am also surprised. Rox would have definitely told Lucía. Beanie tightening.
"Pedro and Gert scenes are also cringe worthy." Yep, definitely. Now that I think about it, almost EVERY scene with Pedro is cringeworthy. Just saying.
"I think the wardrobe department hates Gert as much as Heri hates her." LOLOLOL!
"If we are truly now at the hump it's time for the villains to start falling." Yes Urban, I'm sure they'll start falling soon. I also suspect Alfredo will be the one to fall first. I assume Heri will be the last and I think both Raf and Rox will be around till the Gran Final, unfortunately. We'll see.
Oops, forgot to write a few other things:
I'm tired of everyone blaming Lucía for everything. I'm sure that if an earthquake happens in Australia, it'll be Lucía's fault.
It was obvious that the whole Casi-Leo thing would end badly. At least it was funny.
I wonder if Gabino's kids know that Pilar works at the club? Not that that makes their behavior acceptable, but maybe that's why they're so negative? Or maybe they're just buttholes. Yeah, sure, that also works.
While I don't have many characters that I really like in this one, except from Fer and maybe Lucía (who still occasionally drives me mad because of her inability to see others' true colors, especially because she has already been betrayed), I really like the plot and the fact that there's always something happening. I also like the funny scenes. I just wanted it to have more capítulos! Maybe if they filmed more episodes the quality would drop though, so I won't complain much longer :)
I think Raphael married Roxana because he could use her particular skills to benefit his shady business deals. Also, she is a talented manipulator like himself. She trades sex for a better life either way.
I have said before that Fernand may be the only man who didn't treat her like a slut and she didn't want to give that up. I do not think she loves him any more than she loves Raphael or any of her past clients. It's more like he is good at the Venus Butterfly.
Diana, Gladys has not stolen anything yet, but... A while back doña Maty gave Tyler some sob story about always wanting a little house on the beach. So of course Tyler assures her that he will get her a very nice house on the beach. Since Mario is supposed to be in the real estate business Tyler tells him about it and asks him to see if there is something very nice available.
Mario is a bit distressed to learn Maty was trying to squeeze something out of Tyler and he mentions it to Gladys. Gladys goes off to ever so slightly reproach Maty for this, but she wouldn't mind getting into this herself. They would sell the house and pocket the proceeds 50/50. They more or less agree, though Maty says to herself after Gladys leaves, "over my dead body", or something like that. We shall see what we shall see.
As far as Andrea and René, René takes Tyler out for a "few" drinks and confesses that he is and has been in love with Andrea forever, but has been unable to tell her. He asks for Tyler's help, for Tyler to suggest to Andrea that she give René a chance. Tyler doesn't want to do this, but René and a few more drinks convince him.
So Tyler does so and Andrea is shocked. Do you no longer love me, Tyler?
Tyler confesses he still does, but she is his sister, so their love can never be, and René really does love her. Maybe giving René a chance would be best for all concerned.
So now Andrea and Tyler are miserable and René is doing a happy dance, literally.
Of course, scoundrel Andrea knows she and Tyler are not siblings, but if she tells him she blows her cover and Tyler might just want nothing to do with her.
Oh, misery!
Andy
Casilda is a nut job and a rapist, her obsession with Leonardo is scary, what did she expect from him when she tricked him into sleeping with her, honestly he went way too easy on her.
I absolutely agree about Casilda. She is a nut case and should be seeing a shrink at least 3x/weekly. She also appears to not know the difference between right and wrong, which would get her off the hook legally,
Leonardo needs a new job or at least a new client whose fees exceed what Alejandra is paying him.
Urban, Leo needs to run fast and far, far away from Casilda, who knows what else this lunatic is capable of doing.
Andy, thank you so much for your insightful explanation.
I imagine as the premise of this is so convoluted, the subsequent actions need to follow suit.
Gladys and Maty seem unlikely conspirators. I surmise Maty has been in the grifting life for some time and Gladys seems well, let's just say far less experienced. Why on earth would Maty want to let Gladys in on her carefully planned fleecing? While it's not exactly a crime - yet, Gladys has already baited the trap so...
Not surprised Rene wants what he wants and has no intention of letting Andrea go.
"So now Andrea and Tyler are miserable and René is doing a happy dance, literally" was excellent. What a tangled web we weave...well, you know... Sigh.
Things are really heating up!
Diana
Diana, my apologies! I thought you knew some things that perhaps you don't.
Andrea is a grifter, long time now. Her daughter Katya helps. René has a legitimate business and makes real money and finances some of Andrea's scams, such as this one.
So Andrea, Katya, René, and Chabela know that this is a grift. The rest of the crew or cast do not!
When they were hired by Andrea, the boss of the show, they were told that very eccentric multi-millionaire Tyler wanted to experience life with a real Mexican family, that he lost out on when he was given up for adoption and then lived in Idaho.
But Tyler actually thinks that this is his real family.
So most of the people think that they are humoring a very rich eccentric, for which they are being paid handsomely. But they have been warned not to ruin the fantasy by admitting they are anything but his actual relatives. If they break character and acknowledge the truth in front of him they lose everything... and they were all chosen because they are in very difficult financial straits, all of them.
Maty, for instance, has a gambling problem and went from living in luxury for a while after her husband died, to living in a homeless shelter. (Or something like this.)
Our doña Maty is not really a grifter, but she does not always remember that Tyler is not actually her son, and quite aside from that, she seems to think that it is only natural for hot women, such as herself, to take advantage of men with resources.
Gonzalo is in debt to a loan shark because of expenses for Helena's cancer treatments. The others all have their financial crises to deal with.
They all need the money so they continue to act as Tyler's relatives, even though it sometimes seems ridiculous.
But they do not know that Andrea intends to fleece Tyler.
Please forgive me if I misinterpreted your comments.
I hope your brother's visit is going well.
Andy
Andy, I am so grateful for your insightful and oh so helpful clarification.
Watching so little, my knowledge is indeed limited. I did understand a few things - Tyler thinking this assembly of characters is his family and Andrea being a grifter (along with Katya). I had a basic idea the rest of the "family" was playing along with the charade, out of financial necessity, although not Gonzalo's specific reason. I didn't think they were intentionally trying to hurt Tyler but I wasn't sure what they were told initially but you've explained they don't understand what Andrea's true motives are and she has lied to them as well.
I have only seen one or two scenes with Maty and did misinterpret her character/motivation. I assumed the worst.
Andrea is very complicated and contradictory and her past is painful. I honestly don't know most of the details about her and Rene's relationship but it seems rather poisonous and there seems to be jealousy on both sides.
My visit with my brother is going well - thank you for asking!
I'm enjoying the snippets I've seen (didn't see tonight's show) and your conversations with SpanProf (with comments from dear Susanlynn and others from time to time). I'm just trying to join in the fun although sort of maneuvering my way blindfolded most of the time so to speak.
Gracias amigo.
Diana
Marta is still screaming at Lucía and says that she doesn't want her near her son. Michelle says "Don't you see what you put my mom through?" and drags Marta away. Fer apologizes to Lucía, his mom isn't normally like this. Lucía tells him that she understands and that he has to be with her. They kiss.
Alejandra asks Rafael if he can conrol his wife (BRUH) and Raf says that it's not easy to control Roxana, why, what happened? Ale tells him about Rox's blackmail (that she would tell Lucía about the club) and that Raf has to do something about her, she's starting to bother her. Raf can't believe Rox did this and Ale adds that she also ____ (gave?) her money to inform her of all (not sure if Ale said tus or sus) steps. (She's probably talking about that scene from last night's episode, but my subtitles suck.) She says that he has no idea what kind of a woman Roxana is and that's a problem. Raf gets up, kisses her on the cheek, tells her that he'll take care of Rox and leaves.
Ale doesn't get any minutes to herself, though; Isaura gets in the room like she owns the place and says that she came to ask for a favor; she wants the day off, she has to go to San Jacinto and has no idea how long it will last. She also says that Casilda is a bit off lately, maybe she should check it out? Ale doesn't have time and says that she can't treat Casi like she's five years old. Isaura tells her to inform her if she figures something out and leaves.
Ale decides to go to Casi's room. She's knitting something and crying. Ale asks her what's wrong, at first Casi doesn't tell her anything but then says that she had her heart broken and now she's suffering.
Ale asks her who was it but Casi says "that doesn't matter" and tells Ale to not fire Silvia from the club, she really needs the job. Ale is confused and asks "what does Silvia have to do with this? What did that girl do to you?" Casi says that she didn't do anything to her, in fact, she helped her. Now Ale except from confused, she's pissed too, because she says that if Casi doesn't tell her what happened, she'll learn on her own and it'll be worse. The moment she hears this, Casi jumps up and closes the door. She sits back down and tells her that Silvia helped her to sleep with Leonardo. The look on Ale's face was PRICELESS.
The family in which every member refuses to talk to one another, goes home and surprise, surprise, none of them (Fer, Michelle and Marta) talk. Fer breaks the awkward silence and asks Marta something about her blood pressure and her medication. Michelle brings her a glass of water and they basically say that she has to rest. For the ones that haven't watched yet, FF--> this.
Casi tells Ale that Leonardo is the love of her life and explains the plan she came up with. Ale asks her if Leo realized it was her and Casi says no. Guessing from Ale's expression, she's torn between crying and laughing. Casi gets up and tells her that Leo would have never been with her otherwise, (she starts walking) he hates her because she's ugly, (Ale looks like she really wants to laugh, Casi is now at the balcony) because she's HORRIBLEEE (she screams it, LOLOLOL!)
She comes back to where she was previously and says, again, that Silvia shouldn't lose her job. Ale tells her that she hopes she learned her lesson ("no matter how you cover a lie, the truth always comes out") and that she failed her(!). Casi feels like Ale doesn't understand her and says that Lucía did, but she left. Ale says that nothing is Casi's fault, the Patio starts wondering if there's room for redemption, but then she ruins every possibility of redemption by saying "You didn't ask to be born"(!) She then says that she was an unwanted pregnancy, that she's ugly blah blah blah. She even goes that far and says that if she was her, she wouldn't want to live, because she wouldn't have anything and why live when you have nothing? She half-smiles(!!!) and leaves. Casilda cries even more.
Lucía is working and her friend Toña is also inside of the talavera. Lucía tries to make excuses for Marta, but Toña tells her to stop. Lucía says that Michelle is still in love with Alfredo when a customer (with a hotel order) gets in. He's upset because he hasn't received news from her, Lucía said she had personal problems but everything will be delivered on time and the customer hopes so, otherwise he'll ask for his money back. He leaves. Toña says that if he cancells them, the boys/Lucía's friends that gave them money will stop? I don't know, didn't really catch that part and Lucía says they're going to work twice as much, but they're not getting cancelled.
Lucía's phone rings and it's Ale. She picks it up and says that she's going there. She tells Toña to ask their compañeros de trabajo how is it going with the guy's order and leaves.
Fer is talking to a lawyer about Carlo's case. It's a difficult and serious case, but if the employees testify against (two names I didn't catch, subtitles lagged), they have hope. Fer says that it's going to be hard because of Rafael. The lawyer leaves. Paulina gets in and asks "what did he say?" Fer repeats that it's difficult. Raf and Diego get in too and Diego tells Paulina to leave(!) She doesn't want to at first, but leaves anyway.
Raf tells that he talked with Diego and they're going to conduct an investigation in the company, they basically think that Fer may be Carlos's accomplice!!! Fer looks at Diego and says my thoughts exactly, "You agree with this?" Diego says "your brother robbed us and you didn't tell us anything" and Fer says that he just found out. He tells them to investigate, he's clean anyway. When Raf asks him "Oh really? Then why do I see you so nervous?" Fer tells them to get out. They don't and Fer repeats it, enraged. They leave, Raf is smiling.
Lucía goes to Ale's. She shows her a ___ of pills (packet? bottle? anyway) and tells her that Casi was going to take a handful of these; she tried to commit suicide (thanks to Ale, of course). She adds that she "fortunately" arrived on time this time, but imagine if she hadn't(!!!) When Lucía asks her why, she blames Leonardo. Lucía wants to talk to him but Ale says that she'll do it and permits her to see Casi, but tells her not to mention the pills(?) because the doctor said it would be counterproductive. The doctor comes down the stairs and tells them Casi is much more calm and she'll be a lot better in a few days. Lucía goes upstairs and Ale thanks him again.
(Small Theory Time: Casi never actually tried to commit suicide, it was Ale's plan to make Leonardo feel guilty and "force" him to be with her and lure Lucía to live to her house again. Otherwise, why would she tell Lucía not to mention the pills? She doesn't care about Casi's wellbeing. Also, part 2 of the source I watch was labelled "Alejandra helps Casi be with Leonardo"... AND the "doctor", which I doubt is a real doctor, insisted that Casi needs company. All of these just so happened to happen right after Casi told Ale about Leo and how much Lucía understood her... Oh, Ale is EVIL!)
Casi is still crying when Lucía knocks on the door multiple times and enters. Casi says that Leo rejected her again. Lucía hugs her and tries to calm her down, calls her "hermanita" (haha, little did she know if our theory is correct). Casi says she needs her, Lucía says she's here. Ale comes in and says that the doctor insisted that she needs company. Casi wants Lucía to stay with her and Lucía accepts. They hug again.
Pilar and Silvia are in the club. Pilar says that that's Silvia's last opportunity and Silvia thanks her. She goes somewhere. Gabino rushes in and asks Pilar what happened. Pilar says she wanted some time to think and Gab says "think about what?" Pilar wants them to break up. Gab doesn't understand why, she shouldn't listen to what Ale says, what happened all of a sudden? Pilar insists that she wants to break up, it's her decision. She leaves. Gab is still shocked. Leo comes and asks him if they can talk. (?) He says yes and they both go to a different room.
Lucía is on her way to bring Casi some food and she runs into Ale, who basically tells her that what's important for Casi is that she's here. (My theory starts to make more sense.) Lucía asks her something (subtitles vanished), but before Ale could respond, Lucía's phone rang. It's Toña. Ale tells her that she'll being Casi the food and grabs the tray.
Lucía asks Toña if she talked with the boys/compañeros de trabajo. We don't hear what she says, but it mustn't be very good.
Meanwhile, Ale brings Casi her food. Casi immediately starts to eat (relatable, lol) and Ale asks her if she talked to Lucía about Silvia. She hasn't. Ale tells her that she's happy Lucía is with them, so happy that she's going to help her with Leonardo. Casi can't believe it and asks her "how?" Ale doesn't tell her (OH NO). Lucía gets in the room. Casi says that Lucía is like her sister and that Ale is like her mom. Ale is shocked, but Casi drags them all into a team hug. (There are WAY too many references to Casi and Lucía being sisters and now we get a reference to Ale being Casi's mom? Suspicious...)
Leonardo tells Gabino that his son, Pablo, offered Pilar money to go somewhere far away from him. Gab can't believe it. They talk a bit more and Leo leaves.
Isaura is at the gambling club in San Jacinto and tells Pedro (on the phone) to come. She hangs up when a woman comes in and Isaura tells her to give her the money from the necklace, but she doesn't have it. They mentioned Pedro and the gift Isaura thought he would give to her and now she doesn't want to play. She gets up and tells her that they'll go searching for Pedro. The other woman doesn't want to, so Isaura goes on her own.
Fer is with Lucía and he apologizes again for what his mom did. His phone rings, it's Michelle aka La Estupida. She tells him that their mom had a crisis and they're taking her to the hospital. Fer says he's coming, Lucía will come with him too (that's NOT a good idea...)
Paulina is screaming at Diego for not trusting Fer. Diego says that he thought he knew Fer, but he doesn't. Paulina tells him that every time, he's worse than before (ROASTED!) and leaves.
Pilar is sad because she and Gabino broke up and Ale tries to make her feel better, I guess? She says that this relationship wasn't going anywhere and that they are "señoras de nadie"; missed the opportunity to say "mujeres de nadie". Pilar gets up and goes to check on Silvia or something. Ale asks her if she knew of the Casi-Silvia switch and Pilar says no.
Fer and La Estupida hold their mother's hands as she's talking to them. She wants to know about Carlos. We can see Lucía in the background for a bit, then Alfredo. The kids still try to calm Marta down.
Alfredo sees Lucía and is like "qUe BuEnO vErTe, LuCía." He tells her that he can't forget her and he's sure she can't too. (...) Lucía says that his girlfriend is over there with her mom, ¿que te pasa?
Unfortunately for everyone, La Estupida sees them and goes outside of the room and asks "what's going on here?" Alfredo tries to make excuses, but Lucía tries to tell La Estupida what really happened. Fer goes where everybody is and hits Alfredo. Lucía and La Estupida try to get him to stop hitting Alfredo. They succeed and Fer says that what they need right now is Alfie to leave! (ROASTED!) La Estupida contiues being una estupida and takes Alfie's side, insults Lucía, blah blah blah.
When Lucía and Fer go somewhere else, La Estupida tells Alfie "ya no puedo más con todo esto". Alfie and La Estupida fight a bit (sorry, but I can't write their ridiculous fight), the only important thing that happened is that when Alfie told her "you'll never trust me" she didn't say anything. I'm pretty sure she's still going to be La Estupida we know and hate, unfortunately, but oh well. Alfie pretends to be the victim and leaves.
Lucía tries to calm Fer down as he's telling her all his problems; his mom's at hospital, his brother's in prison and he's being investigated in the company by Rafael. Lucía manages to calm him down, he thanks her and a moment later he gets a message from the lawyer, I assume; they have set a price for Carlos' release, but it's a lot of money.
[I absolutely HATE the intro song.]
Gertrudis is talking with her brother. He is scared that if she continues with the divorce, Heri will do something against her, but Gert thinks it's pathetic that the man with the most power in the whole town is scared. She says that she'll have Heri killed. (Lol, why would she say that while she's OUTSIDE?) Isaura comes and sees the necklace that she thought Pedro would gift her and comments that it's very pretty, but it's hers and wants Gert to give it to her. She is shocked and Isaura says to tell Pedro to stop hiding in her sheets. Gert ignores her and goes to get in her car, when Isaura semi-attacks her, violently trying to get her necklace. (Lol, I wish she accidentally strangles Gert.) Juventino helps Gert and tells Isaura to stop or he'll lock her up in prison. He also gets in the car and Isaura is left there alone.
Carlos has the cajones to ask Fer to get him out(!!!) Fer tells him not to worry, they're going to get him out (I wouldn't, if I were Fer. The only reason to get out Carlos that is reasonable is to make Marta feel better, or at least not worse.) He tells him about the price they set and that it's a lot of money. Carlos freaks out and tells Fer that they'll kill him if he goes to prison. Fer tries to reassure him that they'll get him out. Carlos asks about their mom and Fer only tells him that she's worried, not that she had a crisis and she's at hospital.
Claudia goes to see her mom. The nurse tells her that a relative (?) came to see her. It's not a relative; it's Diego. Claudia smiles as Diego is talking to her mother and laughing. That must be the only time Diego didn't behave like a butthole.
Lucía goes to see Rafael, who is pleased to see her. She tells him she's here to advocate for Fer. He's totally innocent, he's an honest guy, there's no way he was Carlos' accomplice. Raf thinks that he sent her here (dude, both the woman and the guy have self-respect), but she says that he'll never forgive her if he found out she was here (why do I think that Raf won't shut up about it?) He says that he lost his trust when he found out he slept with his wife. Lucía tells him that he made a mistake, but apologized to him, plus he didn't know Roxana was married. Raf says that she's right. Lucía asks him not to investigate Fer, there's no way he was involved.
Roxana starts to overhear their conversation, but she sucks at overhearing, because her tacones made more noise than all the noises you can hear at a construction site combined. But the telenovela gods made the rest partially deaf for some seconds, because how is Roxana going to cause drama if she doesn't overhear anything? Raf says how fiercely she defends Fernando and that, fine, he won't continue with the investigation. But he's doing it for her, not because he trusts Fer. Rox looks upset. Lucía thanks Raf, but Raf thanks her because she made him "realize his mistake". If Lucía STILL hasn't realized what's going on, her name's off the "people with brains in this telenovela" list. Fer is the only person in the list, so now we don't even have a list of smart people. Great.
Roxana and her tacones get out of their hiding spot. Raf tells her that she doesn't stand a chance next to Lucía, because she's faithful e.t.c. He adds "you know what you have to do" and leaves Rox (and her tacones) alone.
Casi is somewhere outside, when Leonardo comes and apologizes for absolutely no reason. He then says that it's better to forget everything, but Casi doesn't want to (and can't) forget. The whole conversation is basically Casi saying that she loves him and to give them an opportunity and Leo saying that he's not the guy for her. He leaves. Again, FF--> if you haven't already.
Isaura says a few suéltame's because Padro is dragging her. She wants the necklace back and they quickly accuse each other of theft. Isaura says that she inherited the necklace from her tía (I can just picture her nose growing longer), but when Pedro tells her that he's going to conduct an investigation, she shuts up. Pedro is being awful to her and then says that they never had anything. (Honestly, Isaura, how did you think it would end?) Isaura screams a few ojalá's about Gert and the necklace and leaves.
After she leaves, some guys that look like they solemnly swear they're up to no good (got the Harry Potter reference? Lol) approach Pedro and say the bring him a message (I heard something that sounded suspiciously like "regalo", but subtitles said "message"... Anyway, we'll see.)
Lucía is talking to Casi as she's working and checking on everyone. They talk about Leo, Casi is whining because he doesn't love her and Lucía says that she has to love herself first. Then she tells Casi about her problems, she has to finish the delivery of the order and help Fer pay for his brother's release. Casi says that maybe she should ask money from Alejandra, but Lucía says no; she won't be staying with Ale much longer, she'll go back to Toña's and says that it's very weird her dad sold the house.
Casi says that she heard something about that house recently and of course Lucía asks her "what did you hear?". We see Casi's flashback; Isaura is talking to the phone with Heri and tells him "thanks to that, you kept Jacobo's house". She must have told Lucía, because Lucía asks her if she's sure and Casi says yes. For the first time in my life, I actually liked Casi.
Now Lucía is with Isaura. Lucía mentions Jacobo's house but she pretends she doesn't understand why he sold it to Heriberto. She even says that he (Jacobo) might have had a mistress(!) or something! What??? Her nose is growing longer again... Lucía is getting angrier and angrier by the second and finally snaps and asks her what did she do with her father's house? Isaura has a VERY guilty face.
Marta is out of the hospital. Fer and La Estupida ask her if she wants something to eat, drink e.t.c. The bell rings or someone knocks on the door, can't remember which. Fer opens the door and it's Roxana! Of course we have the usual "¿Qué haces aquí?". Carlos, yes CARLOS, also comes in! Marta and La Estupida hug him and ask him who paid to get him out. Carlos responds that it was Roxana!
And with a big surprise and Fer's sceptical look, we have the Fin del Capítulo.
Gracias, Weirdo. Good job.
OK, how did Gertrudis get that necklace? How would Pedro have enough dinero to buy it? What shady crap is he up to that Gertrudis doesn't know about? How can he boink her without vomiting?
Alejandra obviously hinted to the very vulnerable Casilda that she should off herself and set this up so that Lucia would come back, miss work, and lose her contract and her business and be forced to return to the brothel. As far as Alejandra is concerned Casilda is disposable.
Is Casilda her daughter, too? I really think so. Who is her sperm donor? Good question.
Marta got on my last nerve in these last two episodes. If Lucia and Fernando will be endgame she may have to end up in a nursing home or worse.
Let us also not forget -- now that we are in Ultimas Semanas -- that this producer has not provided many happy endings.
Weirdo, thank you for that excellent , very detailed recap.
Why is Ale so horrible to Casilde? She says such cruel and hurtful things to her , yet she fawns over Lucia. I wonder if Casi is pregnant. .
The only person I really like in this show is long suffering Fernando. My favorite moment was when he jumped on Alfredo and punched him. Yay. That guy deserves a lot of punches.
The Gert Pedro Isaura triangle is despicable tines three .
I wonder who sent those guys to Pedro . Heri?
I love the beautiful blue pottery .
Roxy saves Carlos. Uff.
SpanProf, the party wasn't all that bad, but people were tipsy. Megan asked Diego to dance and they did and enjoyed it. It really ticked off Katya, though, Megan commandeering her boyfriend, and Brandon was upset too. Brandon wanted to start a fight with Diego but Diego just knocked him down. Nobody hurt.
After the party Katya cooled down a bit and had a nice surprise for Diego. She was driving them home, but made a detour and stopped at a motel; she wanted to ratchet up their relationship a bit with a little friskiness between the sheets. After all, it was their one month anniversary :-)
Diego, as we might have expected, was having none of it. So Katya drove off leaving him outside the motel. How he got home, I don't know.
The next morning Marcia gets an early call from Dr Sebastián, he wants her to get more exercise before surgery, and he reminds her of their deal. She is to keep him informed of every detail of Diego's life at Campo amor, and she assures him that she will.
That morning Katya unburdens herself on Viiyéri, who thinks Diego must be one of those guys who like women who are hard to get, maybe Katya should try ignoring him for a while.
A little later she asks Chabela for advice on winning Diego.
Later yet Katya pumps Marcia for information and advice about Diego.
Marcia! First Sebastián wouldn't attend her because she was recommended by Diego and he wanted nothing to do with anybody connected to Diego. Now he has changed his mind in exchange for her giving him every single detail of Diego's life now. Marcia, get a clue here!
Could Katya be asking the wrong people for advice? But she did get a lot of hugs and sympathy from all her women friends.
A happy Gladys tells Tyler that her test results show she should have no problem conceiving a baby. This just as Andrea arrives with the false, and expensive, results showing she is infertile. Uh, oh. This is going to cost Gladys. Later, Tyler the medical detective wonders if Gladys is fertile, yet she and Mario could not conceive, must not the problem be with Mario? So then who is Melody's real father?
Meanwhile, doña Maty is with her swain*, Jaime, suggesting that she put the casita that Tyler is buying for her in Jaime's name. Protection from Gladys' wanting half, maybe?
* swain is perhaps misused a bit here, but this is for our JudyB, who enjoys catching me using obsolete words. Hey, Judy, they were quite common when I was a kid back in the Nineteenth Century!
Sometimes I have to wonder if the writers knew what a great novela they were putting together or if it just "happened" :-)
