La herencia #39 #40 Wednesday "Lock him up and throw away the key"

Capitulo 39

Dante is sure Pedro will be the one to fall, because he keeps thinking that he’s smarter than everyone else. But he will end up in jail. As for taking the President seat, Sara wants it, too. So what is it going to be? Pedro tells Dante he got it all wrong; he will be the one to get that seat for Sara.

Tadeo comes searching for his dad, who forgot about therapy. And he has homework to do. Sara offers to help. Dante comes asking for Juan.

In the study, Juan asks Simon if he was the one who sent him messages threatening to kill Sara. Simon calls Juan loco, he never sent any messages. But he won’t stop fighting Sara until the day one of them dies. He’s also sure she and her mom planned the attack on him – he will find the evidence and this way Juan will finally see the truth about Sara.

To make Juan better understand his disproportionate hatred, Simon explains that he’s despised Sara and Deb ever since he was a kid, when his mom asked him to keep Sara a secret, he couldn’t even tell Juan. He adds that their mom was the one protecting them, while Severiano hurt them with his lies. Juan understands why Simon is feeling this way, he had to carry this burden all alone for a long time. Simon says mom trusted him because he witnessed the confrontations between her and Deb, so Juan asks him to do as their mom, keep quiet to try to avoid further conflict, for the family’s sake.

Amado is threatened by the guys who go around town attacking the Del Montes, apparently he has a debt with them. They will go after his brother, the rich boy, if Amado doesn’t comply. Amado tries to hide Lucas’ existence, but he doesn’t succeed – they give him a week to pay them back.

Brandon asks Augustin if he knows where his father went… Somewhere in the US, Augie says, Mississippi. Brandon starts searching for the place on google maps.

Sara and Tadeo are doing homework together, he has a hard time reading, so she encourages him. She guesses that he’s very good at math, just like she is. All he has to do is practice. Later she tells Tadeo that she’s his aunt.

When Simon walks out of the study and stares at them while walking away Tadeo says he’s scared of him and of Deb. Juan comes out asking about Pedro, Sara shouldn’t be doing his job taking care of Tadeo. But Sara doesn’t mind. Juan asks about Dante, Tadeo helps out saying he’s arrived.

Corni admits to Amado that he told the bad guys he is Lucas’ brother, so Amado jumps on him with a good punch. YES! Corni tells Sal the guys are Amado’s friends, who almost killed him. Amado calls him a liar, Corni asks Sal to fire him.

Modesto and Juan talk about the portrait, but Juan will hang it back later. He tells Modesto about the last threatening packet he got, Modesto thinks Juan needs to keep Sara close if he wants to protect her, not far away in her apartment. Juan seems to be giving this some thought.

In the study Juan asks Dante if he was able to find out who is sending him the messages. Dante couldn’t track the caller ID, so Juan asks him to use all the company resources if necessary. Dante is impressed with how many sacrifices Juan is doing, even more than Sev ever did. Juan is aware of his father’s many infidelities, but he and mom had an understanding that made things work. Dante doesn’t want to go into it with Juan because he knows he dislikes the subject. Juan admits he never agreed to his father’s infidelities, but he never judged him, either. When he asks Dante if he knew Simon was aware of Sara’s existence, Dante says no (but it looks like he did know), but understands Simon’s hate better. Juan says he suspected Simon of sending the messages, but he denied having any involvement.

Pedro walks in and Juan tells him about the messages, too, and about thinking it could have been Simon. He asks Pedro discretion, he will find out who is behind this, but he trusts Simon didn’t have anything to do with it.

When Juan leaves, Dante explains to Pedro his brother is not as stupid as Pedro think he is. He was the one to ask him to search for the person who was sending those messages and that’s how he found out it was him. Pedro needs to keep him as an ally, he can continue to help him.

Rosa is fussing over Juli, when Deb suggests she go check the dinner Menu, make sure it’s worthy of her presence; she should even be the one to choose the food, as the grandmother of a future Del Monte. Rosa leaves, but Juli knows what she was up to and says they are the same, both living in Santa Catalina. Deb admits Juli proved to be smarter than she gave her credit for. When Juli accuses her of sleeping with Prospi, Deb encourages her to tell Rosa, but Juli says they are over now. All of a sudden Juli feels bad, but Deb is not moved – she does want the baby to be born, though, see who it looks like.

Sara comes to see Julieta, check up on her. Juli thinks Sara is happy she is feeling bad, but things are about to change. Sara says they already have, but this is not about Juan. Juli tells her they will get married soon. Sara pretends not to care, thinks Juli is worthy of Juan.

When she leaves Juli’s room, Sara removes her mask of indifference and starts crying.

Rosa is tasting Adela’s food, then putting everything back in the pots. Gross! Juli will eat in her room. Rosa asks Adela how come Bryan doesn’t know how to use a napkin. He’s not worthy of her daughter, they need to get a divorce. Adela won’t allow Rosa to destroy her son, too! Back in the day, she was the one who went lying to Catalina, accusing her of stealing, so she couldn’t tell the truth about her. But that was then, now Adela is willing to protect her son.

Deb arrives in mid argument, asking what is going on. Is it true Rosa accused Adela of stealing because she was jealous? Adela starts saying something, Rosa stops her, Deb asks if Rosa truly was Sev’s woman, too and Modesto walks in just then.

Rosa tries to change the subject, starts talking about the food. Auggie arrives bringing some cheese like the one Don Seve used to like. Deb doesn’t know about cheese, but Sev sure had exotic taste in women. Modesto says he’s going to search for Juan and Rosa goes to ask Julieta if she’s hungry.

Deb wants to talk to Adela, but Adela is in a hurry to finish work and go home. When she walks out, Deb starts chatting with Augustin. Among the rambling, Deb manages to ask about Rosa and Sev being lovers. Augie confirms it.

Modesto is going up the stairs, remembering a moment years ago, when he caught Rosa coming out of the study, while fixing her clothes. Catalina walked in, too, and the two women were obviously friends. Cata thought Rosa was inside asking for a loan, and sure enough, Sev agreed to help Prospi. As the two women hugged, Modesto looked on, equally pained and disgusted by the situation.

Sara and Juan meet on the stair, too (the new hot spot of the house, right behind the dinner table). He wants to go up, but she stops him; they almost touch, he asks if she’s OK, then Pedro comes to intervene, with Dante behind. Pedro asks Juan to stay away, Sara says she doesn’t need defending. Pedro insists Juan is no longer involved with Sara and she deserves to be happy with someone like him, who is willing to make her happy. Sara looks heart broken, but tells Juan that she only thought she was happy with him, but both she and Pedro are single, they can do whatever they want. Tadeo comes down and holds Sara and Pedro’s hands, while Pedro says they will be dining as a family.

Dante has been carefully observing the whole confrontation and now tells Juan that he’s leaving. Juan is left alone on the stair.

Outside Mateo takes a sip of wine (?). Then another one and another one, until he finishes the whole plastic bottle that he’d managed to sneak out. He starts crying, asking God for forgiveness, promising never to drink again; but everything that is happening is too much for him, what is he supposed to do? He’s crawling on the ground, takes another sip, and then stumbles up the small stairs.

He manages to get to Brandon’s house, he and Dulce help him sit, while Mateo remembers Juli saying she is pregnant with Juan’s baby. He doesn’t want the kids to call Juan.

At the dinner table with Sara and Pedro, Tadeo is having milk and cereal. Pedro asks Adela why he is not eating the same as the rest of them, so Sara explains their food is too heavy for a child. When Tadeo mentions that Pedro forgot to buy him underwear or pajamas, Pedro covers quickly by promising to go the next day. Maybe Sara could go with them. Tadeo takes Sara’s hand and Pedro takes advantage to grab them both.

Modesto comes to fetch Juan for dinner, but Juan is not hungry. Modesto wants to apologize about Sara and Deb, he found out about their existence when Deb came to tell Cata she had a daughter with Sev. Juan was very young and Simon a child. He never said anything because he wanted to protect them, but destiny united them, nothing could have avoided them falling in love. He made sacrifices, too, chose to keep quiet for the family’s sake, turned his back on Cornelio even. Juan might be upset with him now, but he will prove he can count on him. He wants to leave, but Juan stops him. They hug, both are crying, Juan understands how hard it has been for him keeping this secret. He also understands his sacrifice.

Later Modesto encourages Juan to go down and eat, never leave Sara and Pedro alone, all is fair in love and war.

Tadeo asks where he’s supposed to sleep, and Sara suggests Pedro’s bed. Tadeo wants a story before bed, like papa Cornelio used to do. Pedro doesn’t really know any stories, just the one Catalina used to tell him.

Deb arrives to eat and notices the table almost empty. And where is Rosa? Eating with Julieta? She thinks Sara and Pedro make a nice couple.

Juan has taken Modesto’s advice and is down for dinner. He talks with Pedro about Modesto, Pedro tells Sara Modesto is a traitor for keeping silence. Juan thinks Tadeo should be sleeping by now, but the child needs to go to the bathroom, so Pedro takes him.

Bryan is home, so Alondra asks him if he can drive Lucas home. Jess doesn’t agree, he spends too much time working.

When Juan and Sara are alone, she informs him she is hiring Bea. He agrees; then he stands to come to her side of the table, to grab the sugar, just as Sara wants to have some. They touch hands, she helps herself, there is a bit of smiling… I gotta say I’m starting to see some chemistry, finally!!

Capitulo 40

Rosa wants to spend the night with Julieta. She remembers the scene inside the study (before she went outside and thanked Catalina for being such a good friend). Sev gave her money to help Prospi with his problems. She wished Prospi were more like him, Sev thought Prospi was a great husband, Rosa said he was the one who was great. Sev kisseed her hand… and the rest is history, I believe. Back to the present, Rosa kisses Juli, her biggest treasure.

Prospi is alone in his bed, unable to sleep. He stands, check himself out in the mirror, and decides it’s time for that makeover the Patio has been waiting for. He takes off his pajamas and of course he is very well built, because he is Julian Gill. He starts going through his clothes, putting away things he no longer likes.

Pedro is in the kitchen, fighting with Modesto, who says he was only trying to protect them. Pedro accuses him of abandoning his son, Augie tries to defend Modesto. Pedro gets into it with Augie, too, he’s only here because Sara wanted him here. And he threatens them all they should prepare to be fired.

Lucas is alone in town when he is attacked by some masked men.

Mateo is back home, drunk and screaming for Julieta; Sara and Juan come from the dining room and Mateo tells Juan he came for Juli because her baby is his, not Juan’s. But he’s so drunk, Juan doesn’t believe him. Sara is also upset Mateo drank again, he failed them, she won’t allow this. Juan says he’s not a failure, he’s sick, they will pull through together. Mateo pushes Juan away and starts screaming so loud, Juli and Rosa wake up. They don’t understand what he’s saying, though.

Juan thanks Brandon for bringing Mateo and he and Modesto help Mateo up the stairs. Sara calls Dante to ask him the details of the last clinic Mateo was in.

Augie tells Adela that she should stop working at the ranch, try to get her shop back, before Pedro throws them out.

Simon finds Lucas badly beaten in the street and takes him to his car. At home Alondra is worried about Lucas; Jess asks Bryan for a drink, but Bryan is busy studying, so he and Jess start fighting again. Bertha arrives to say good night, but she’s not happy with all the quarrelling. Jess asks Bertha for her drink, but Bertha says they will be talking tomorrow the two of them, now she’s going to sleep.

There is a knock on the door, it’s Juan wanting to talk to Julieta. Rosa leaves, so Juan asks about the baby’s paternity. Juli says Mateo is obsessed with her, but Juan demands a DNA proof. She agrees, even if she is offended. Juan reminds her he is a very responsible man, but if she lies, she’s out of his life forever.

Juan wants to know if she was involved with Mateo recently, but she says they were together in the past. They decide to meet at a clinic the next day for the DNA test.

In the hallway, Juan tells Sara that Juli is saying Mateo lied. Sara wants to take Mateo to detox the next day and Juan thanks her for helping. She is only helping her brother, she wants him to be happy.

In Pedro’s room, Tadeo takes a t-shirt to sleep and calls Pedro papa. Pedro is happy, Tadeo says he loves Corni more, but he also loves him. Pedro is sure his love will become bigger with time.

Later, after he tucks him in, Pedro tells Tadeo there is no problem if Tadeo doesn’t brush his teeth for tonight, they will go buy him a tooth brush the next day with Sara. Then he remembers Catalina telling him the story of Refugio Santa Catalina when he was a child, a place so magical it came to life at night. Back in the present, he is telling Tadeo the same story.

Later the boy is asleep, but Pedro has a hard time sharing his bed with a child, who takes so much space (because… well, that’s how kids sleep).

Bea and Paloma are having coffee with Adela, who is relieved she finally has some peace, because the ranch is a mess. Pedro is so bad with them, he might fire them. Paloma is also afraid to go live there, Bea thinks she and Simon should have their own home, but Paloma says he insists they live there. Bea is worried about Tadeo.

Paloma asks Adela if she likes Sal. Adela admits it, but Sal can’t know, what if Irma gets upset? Paloma says her mother has no right to interfere, her dad deserves to be happy, he is her love legacy.

Simon brings Lucas home. Modesto is shocked to see Lucas, insists Juan needs to know, thinks it could be the same people who attacked Sara and Pedro. He offers to prepare some soup, but Lucas only wants to sleep.

Sara is reading articles on alcoholism online, remembering Mateo’s accusation that Juli is lying about her baby’s paternity. Then she remembers her last talk with Lucas and goes to his room. She start apologizing to him but then she sees he’s all beaten up. He tries to say it’s no big deal, but asks for a hug from his sister. He cries in her arms.

The next day Tadeo comes down the stairs still wearing Pedro’s t-shirt. He jumps on the furniture, plays the horse, disturbs Deb’s breakfast. Pedro comes to ask him to go back to his room, where he has a surprise for him. He meets Sara, and they talk about Mateo who needs help. He’d like her to come to his room, too, see the surprise for Tadeo.

Juan and Mateo talk about his addiction. Mateo no longer trusts he can fight it alone, he feels so bad for how he behaved, but he’s not sorry for having said Juli is waiting for his baby. Juan promises he will help him, but he will have to go to detox. Mateo thinks he is a bother to them and storms out of the study, just in time to run into Julieta and Rosa coming down the stairs.

Julieta accuses Mateo of lying, they never slept together, he’s just a drunk. Juan defends Mateo, but Mateo wants her to keep talking, take out all that hate that she feels for him. He would have done anything for her, but she’s not worth it. He leaves and Juli asks Juan to go have the DNA test done. But Juan goes to follow Mateo.

Amado tells Corni he thinks the people who shot him were supposed to kill him. But he’s not sure. And now they have bigger problems, because of what he told those bad guys about Lucas. What if the Del Montes find out he was the one who ordered the attack on Simon? Corni almost punches Amado.

In his room, Lucas is in a very bad mood, refuses Modesto’s soup, knocks the tray over. He’s had it with all of them and with Santa Catalina, he’s leaving for good!

In Pedro’s room, he gives Tadeo the short Catalina gave him when he first arrived at the ranch. Sara helps Tadeo get dressed, Pedro gets very close, almost kisses her.

Mateo asks Juan to give him a few days before he has to go to detox, he’d like to go to the capital, get together with someone he met in Toluca. Juli and Rosa are on the couch listening, Juli is visibly bothered when Rosa says Mateo should know other women. But Juan doesn’t allow him, he is going to detox now! Mateo starts screaming, breaks a glass, Simon arrives to stop him from punching Juan, while he keeps rambling about loving Julieta. The doctors who arrived have to sedate him.

Juan tells Mateo he loves him, he knows he can fight against this. Averyone is moved, except for Dante and Deb who smile viciously. Julieta looks at Mateo with tears in her eyes, I hope she’s happy.

Sara hears the ambulance noise and runs downstairs with Pedro. Simon explains Mateo had a crisis, Dante tells Juan he needs to sign a letter for Mateo’s internal hospitalization. Juan asks Dante to come with hime, they are going with Mateo at the clinic.

Mateo is taken away in an ambulance, tied to a gurney, while Pedro, Simon, Sara, Lucas and Julieta look on horrified.

Deb is in a good mood, singing while at the table. Rosa comes to sit, Deb makes fun of the situation. Deb asks where did Rosa hire Bertha, her answer is very vague and a good proof of her cluelessness.

Back in the house, Simon thanks Sara !!! (yes, that’s what I wrote) for having called an ambulance for Mateo. Sara says he is her brother, too, she couldn’t allow him to get destroyed like this. Simon leaves and Sara confronts Juli: Mateo loves her, if she is lying about the baby… They start quarrelling about Sara’s interest in the family and how she goes from one brother to the other, kind of like Julieta does, when Pedro interrupts to say they need to get that DNA test done. But Sara thinks Mateo is the priority now and leaves.

Lucas is packing a bag, too, that beating must have destroyed the neurons in charge of his common sense.

Simon comes to ask him to calm down, he and Modesto can’t understand what is going on with him; Simon wants to help, asks a tea from Modesto. Lucas tells Simon his bio mom is alive and needs him.

Sara wants to take care of Mateo but Pedro thinks she’s done all she could for now. He takes her to breakfast, where Rosa whines nobody is there to fix them some food. Sara asks her to go to her own home then. She is very hurt because of what is going on with Mateo. Pedro tells her he’s been in pain for a long time, he could have never gotten better without professional help. Juan wanted to keep him close, but Mateo can’t deal with this on his own. Sara asks about his last hospitalization, Pedro explains it was about 4 years ago. When he first saw him like this he felt very bad, but then realized this is a problem many families confront, no matter the money they have. If this is the only way to help Mateo, they have to do it. Sara hugs Pedro, thanking him for understanding her pain. Juli sees them and smiles.

Next in La herencia: Prospi’s transformation! (sorry, I couldn’t help myself!

Adriana, thanks for the recaps, both of which top-quality.

"the new hot spot of the house, right behind the dinner table" made me laugh. I'm hoping somebody falls down, another bingo square will be filled. An escaleracide would be great, I haven't seen one of those in a while.

Speaking of bingo, does the punch in Capítulo 39 count as a "Fistfight?" Technically it was one punch, so I guess not.

Simón THANKED Sara? Honestly, if I saw aliens dancing in my balcony I would be way LESS shocked!

More later or tomorrow. Thanks again, Adriana!

Thanks, Adriana. These were excellent. Busy day. I hope to comment later.

Cher Adriana, merci for providing us with an excellent Recap of two episodes. Wow. You are a warrior. These people are spinning out of control as they all jockey for position to get what they want.

I am trying to understand what happened in the past with Don Juan Sev and all these women. So, Rosa asked him for a loan, but did she also have an affair with him ? She was Cata's friend ,and she told Cata that Adela was a thief. Why?

Now that Aug told Brandon that his father was in Mississippi are we going to meet him? Just what we need ...another character.

Well, Mateo looked like he was getting himself together for a minute.. .but no. That scene of him being taken away in the ambulance was sad.

Juan wants to prove that Pedro cannot be a good father to Tadeo, and he has proven that he is right. Pedro has no idea what a child needs. He used Tadeo to get close to Sara. The scene of Pedro losing patience With Tadeo restless in bed was funny. Yes, Pedro. That's what it is like to sleep with a kid . ..no personal space.

In case we forgot that Deb and Pedro were demons, they both were dressed head to toe in black. Prospi on the otherhand, is rethinking his wardrobe.

Adriana - thank you for another great recap (And snark). Two hours....I've recapped one-hour episodes, as have many others on the herencia Patio, and we all know firsthand how much time and work goes into this.

"Simón THANKED Sara? Honestly, if I saw aliens dancing in my balcony I would be way LESS shocked!"
LOL. Weirdo. Well said!

And now we are seeing just how much Pedro is neglecting his newest possession a/k/a Tadeo. No bed to sleep in. No physical therapy, no homework assistance, but I don't agree with Sara that cold cereal is really the best dinner for a growing child. (It wasn't in our house). It would not be surprising if everyone else ends up parenting this dear child.

Thank heavens Mateo spoke up about the baby!!! Including the next day! Juli seems very calm and sure of herself about the ADN test.

I have great doubt that Mateo will achieve and stay sober. He'll need regular AA meetings etc. and I just don't see that happening.

At most alcohol (all?) rehab centers in the U.S., the patient is free to leave whenever they want; they are not incarcerated. We don't know if "la clinica" Mateo was hauled off to is a psych ward, or what it is. Who knows how things work in telenovelalandia?!

If Rosa got money from Sev after "doing" him in the office, was that a reward to Sev for the "loan" or a notch on Rosa's belt? (ew). I liked her younger daze hair better than the current style.

It is appalling how all these "higher social class" (ha!) people abuse the servidumbre as if they're animals. Throwing trays of food, making up complaints about how their clothes are ironed, demanding a meal, etc.etc.etc. and the help just takes it and cleans up the messes. Apparently there are not better jobs in that little town, because I would love to see them all just quit and walk out, leaving Los Del Monte to fend for themselves.

"Prospi on the otherhand, is rethinking his wardrobe."
Yes, finally! Getting rid of the Raj Koothrapolli sweater vests is a good start, too! Hopefully he will transform into a hottie.

Susan, from what I gather, Catalina and Rosa were friends, so when the Millan family started having money problems she suggested Rosa ask financial help from Sev, her husband (per Modesto flashback). Rosa did ask for money and she and Sev had a normal interaction up until thevpoint she started saying how great he is. Horn dog that he is, Sev couldn't say no to her feeble attempt at seduction (per Rosa's flashback). Maybe they didn't have sex that first time, as Cata was in the house, too, but Rosa was a bit rattled when she left the study, so that must have been the first time she and Seve "connected". And if my suspicions that Juli is his daughter are true, it means their affair happened long before the Del Montes strated adopting kids, as the age differen e beween Juli and Juan, who is the oldest, can't be bigger than 6 to 8 years I believe. She and Sara shiuld be about the same age, which means Sev was a very busy man..

Weirdo, that was one quick thank you. Simon likes to hear himself talk so much, he could have come ip with something better, me thinks.

Does anyone think Dante will allow Sara to get "involved" with Pedro?

Weirdo - I just now checked my Bingo cards and "FISTFIGHT"has already been checked off, so no worries about last night's episode.

LH

Adriana, you earned the triple crown of excellence this week. Another outstanding summary.

“He takes off his pajamas and of course he is very well built, because he is Julian Gill” brought back the bright spot of last night – those amazing pecs. Sigh.

“When she leaves Juli’s room, Sara removes her mask of indifference and starts crying” was perfectly reflective of that sad scene. Thank God she insisted Mateo get the help he needs before it is too late.

Susanlynn, I was confused about Sev and Rosa thinking any relationship it was a figment of her imagination. But since other characters (and our Adriana) confirmed the liaison, I stand corrected.

While admittedly Pedro does have warm and fuzzy feelings for his son, he has no idea how to “dad”. Most would kill for Tadeo’s sweet hugs that he unfeelingly shrugged off.

“Does anyone think Dante will allow Sara to get "involved" with Pedro?” was a great question doris. I don’t think he will.

Where is lil Lucas going to run off to?

Weirdo “Simón THANKED Sara? Honestly, if I saw aliens dancing in my balcony I would be way LESS shocked!” was just great.

Things were stewin’, brewin’ and cookin’ in the kitchen tonight, courtesy of perpetual pot stirrer Deb! As poor Mateo is bound and taken away in the ambulance, deb is singin’ and smilin’. Ice. Cold.

And now, the night’s burning question - who is going to clean up all the broken glass and dishes? 😊

Adriana thank you for carving out time you surely don’t have to create these excellent summaries!

Diana

Doris, that's great! I actually started to check things off since episode #32, after Adriana said that she thinks if someone started checking things off from that point on would still get a bingo. Since I started fresh and there wasn't a fistfight from episode 32, I didn't know whether I should check it off or not. I won't, because it was only one punch, but thanks for the answer!

Gracias, Adriana. Two days in a row of double episodes. I know how this feels.

Rosa only thinks of herself and Deborah as upper class because neither of them have the education to actually be upper class. Education and demeanor is the real dividing line, not how much money you have in the bank. Both of them are bullies and there is nothing more declassee than that. The only difference between the two of them is that Deborah has better taste in clothes.

Mateo needs to be in a clinic; we have known this from the moment we found out he is an alcoholic. There is no way he could beat this on his own, even with Modesto and Juan getting all the alcohol out of the house. Deborah goads him into drinking even without it being there.

Pedro doesn't have the tiniest clue on how to be a parent. Sara doesn't either, but is that any surprise? I shudder at what Deborah must have been like when Sara was a child.

A couple of episodes ago Sara addressed Deborah by her name twice. Could this have been a carry-over from when Sara became a teen and was told to call her by her name in public? Deborah is more than vain enough to not want her age to be obvious by having to acknowledge a teen or adult daughter as her daughter.

Lucas is certainly in no shape now to donate a kidney and Mateo was right in that this would have presented risks even to a healthy person.

I don't think that Dante would want Sara to be with Pedro. Sara does not have a criminal nature and I suspect Dante would not want her to despite his own.

If Julieta is Severiano's daughter she would probably consider suicide if she found out.

"Education and demeanor is the real dividing line, not how much money you have in the bank." What a great quote, Urban. Love it!

Gracias Adriana! Your second double episode of the week and you didn’t miss a thing! Excellent as always!

What responsible adult would send Brandon back out alone late at night? Oh that’s right, there are no responsible adults in that house! They should have sent him into the kitchen so he could go home with his mom and grandma!

I hope Juli is Sev’s, then Simon can run around saying ‘I hate Julieta’ for a change! Or he could just you know, grow up!

As unrealistic as it is, I hope rehab does magically cure Mateo. Somebody around here needs to grow the hell up and be a rational reasonable adult I am tired of being ‘surrounded’ by whinny children with endless anger issues!! Pedro and Juli are obviously going to be relentless villains, Deb and Dante too; the rest of the cast should straighten up and balance out the crazy

"I hope Juli is Sev’s, then Simon can run around saying ‘I hate Julieta’ for a change!"
This made me laugh out loud, Darcy.
I can almost see Simon chase Juli around the house, and Juli moving like a duck while holding onto her pregnant belly (no offense to pregnant women, but that's how I used to walk when I was pregnant).

"Does anyone think Dante will allow Sara to get "involved" with Pedro?"
The million dollar question! Dante is walking a fine line trying to keep Juan happy and convinced he is working for him, while juggling with Pedro's volatility, Sara's increased trust in him and Deb's plotting, who could get out of hand if he doesn't pay enoug attention. The guy is quite amazing in a criminal sort of way - the mastermind behind it all if we think about it. I'm sure if Sara ever says yes to Pedro Dante will find a way for this Del Monte brother to suffer an attack, too.

"Things were stewin’, brewin’ and cookin’ in the kitchen tonight, courtesy of perpetual pot stirrer Deb! As poor Mateo is bound and taken away in the ambulance, deb is singin’ and smilin’. Ice. Cold."
Perfect description of Deborah, Diana! I know I should, but I just can't bring myself to hate her completely. I love the way she puts the others in their places, she always has a good reply or a good putdown, her one liners are hilarious and her descriptions of the brothers are always spot on. She is, overall, more entertaining than despicable in my eyes, the rare character who is alowed to say what most of the viewers are thinking.

"If Julieta is Severiano's daughter she would probably consider suicide if she found out"
But would she? Really? Or would she try to get a portion of ... La Herencia?

She might, but since she had a fit when Juan became interested in Sara due to her being his sister (despite no tie of blood) she would be a total hypocrite to not walk away from him if she turned out to have the same blood tie to Severiano that Sara seems to.

Gracias, Adriana. Fantastic recap of double episodes. I'm enjoying the plot moving faster with two hours -- but gee whiz! -- I know this is a lot more effort for you.

Good job by Mauricio Henao (Mateo). His breakdown was tough to watch, it seemed too real.

Simon thanked Sara? Wow!

Prospi was a hoot flexing his pecs and puffing out his stomach. I guessing he was hurt that Rosa didn't even bother to tell him she would stay at the Del Montes, like he doesn't matter at all. So bring on the makeover.

Will Tadeo soften up Pedro? Nice to see the flashback of Catalina telling little Pedro a bedtime story. I don't blame Pedro for not being prepared at all for Tadeo. No doubt he's never even baby-sitted before and thought kids automatically come with change of clothes and need no supervision. He seems willing to learn, using fatherhood to reel in Sara.

On the DNA test, I'm guessing Pedro and Julieta will work together to doctor the results.

Deb is right. Kids and drunks tell the truth.

Urban, ha...We all know that Juli is , indeed, a total hypocrite . Shallow , shallow, shallow. I think that if Sev is her bio dad and she finds out , she would be yelling and fighting to grab her share of the inheritance. Julie's stone face matches her stone cold heart. She always seems so cranky and joyless as she relentlessly chases after Ju an. I never understand these novela women who pursue the who don't want them . If she doesn't lose that baby, she seems the type who would hate being pregnant , especially at the point when you can't tie your own shoelaces or get out of bed without help.

"Deb is right. Kids and drunks tell the truth." True, Nicie.
