La herencia #58/59 Friday 9/23/22 A Very Unhappy Wedding--OR--"Deliverance" Revisited

GREAT NEWS!   This week we are back to single episodes at  8:00 Eastern.

With so much action and especially info, these episodes knocked me off my couch and into a regular recap.  Here we go!

#58

1. Sara tells Pedro that she wants him to continue being the VP.

2. Modesto tells Adela that he didn't think that woman knew Dante. Is she sure that they were communicating with each other? Adela ends up doubting what she saw and says now she doesn't know. Modesto explains that during the time that Sev and Catalina rescued Juan and Pedro, Dante hardly came by the hacienda. They must have met somewhere else because Dante didn't spend any time with the boys until they came to live at the hacienda. Modesto is left wondering.

3. Deb visits Dante in his hotel room.  He greets her with a gun thinking it might be Pedro. Things have gone from bad to worse. Deb says that Pedro asked her of they were lovers a while back. Dante says that now he knows that he killed Henry. She is quick to blame that damn gossipy brat.  She is sorry she could't have solved that problem today. He reminds her that he told her not to do anything to the boy.  She tells him how Sara caught him and how she hit her head. He is concerned about Sara and she tells him that it was nothing serious. Deb wants to know why Pedro beat him up. He fills Deb in how Pedro wanted to frame Juan for embezzlement at the company when the real person who had committed that crime was Pedro himself. Juan knew all about it already and that the real criminal was Pedro.

4. All of the brothers meet in the home office. Juan asks Pedro if he is sure he wants to resign.  Pedro apologizes to them all especially Juan saying that he did what he did because he thought he was defending the company. Mateo wants Juan and Pedro to hug and leave their absurd rivalry behind.  They hug but for Pedro it is all part of the act. The brothers all want him back as VP.  Pedro will come back if Juan agrees. Juan says he never accepted his resignation.

5. Deb wonders if Sara knew about Pedro was the real brother committing the fraud. Dante warns her not today a word about this. Juan is a very smart guy. He dares say ben smarter than his father. Dante has never known a man like him. He has protected everyone including that ingrate Pedro. Deb doesn't like hearing what else he has to say. He wants to retire. He is sick of being away from his family living in a hotel room always on call for the Del Monte's.  He is satisfied with the millions they will get from Lucas and Mateo's share of the inheritance.   She asks what to do about Pedro and Aurora. Dante hopes they kill each other. Deb tells him he is being very sensitive today and that he needs to sleep on it. They will talk more tomorrow. He invites her to stay the night.  They kiss and probably more even with his bruised ribs.

6. The next morning, Juli has stopped by Rosa's house. She is going to go into work for a bit and then the two of them are going wedding dress shopping. Rosa seems resigned to that fact that it is only going to be a civil ceremony. What else do you need in the eyes of the law? Rosa wants a BOTOX breakfast but Berta can only give her a DETOX breakfast.

7. Prosi comes into the living room and Juli doesn't see him when she gets a call from Pedro. Pedro wants to know if he can see her this afternoon. She says she will let him know and teasingly asks him how he is going to dress for his bride Sara. Is he going to dress in true cowboy style or in a tux with tails? He thinks it is too early for such stupidity and reminds her not to celebrate her victory so soon because anything can still happen.  Juli laughs and hangs up. Prospi wants to know who she was talking to.

8. Bea comes to visit Sara with Tadeo and his robot he made. He thanks Sara for having saved him. He is going to take care of her a lot in return. Bea says Tadeo told her everything. She doesn't know how to thank her. Bea invites Sara to come see her and Paloma sing at Sal's cantina.

9. Simón sees Brandon selling flowers in the park and chooses a bouquet for Paloma. In the meantime,  he sees Deb standing in the street preoccupied on her phone. He hurriedly takes the bouquet and gets into his SUV.

10. Juli is light and breezy as she explains to her father that she was talking to Pedro about marrying his brother Juan tomorrow. She says everything was in jest. She has no idea if Pedro and Sara are getting married. Prospi never knew that they got along so well as to joke with each other like that.

11. As Deb is lost in her digital world, Simón starts his vehicle and drives in Deb's direction. Brandon yells for Deb to watch out. She looks up and Simón slams on the brakes just touching her. Brandon shouts out that he almost flattened Deb leaving her like a cow pattie.

12. Pedro is sitting in the home office thinking back on his conversation with his mother. He told her that she never gave him what he needed. He didn't want to see her ever again. Pedro just wishes he cold get her out of his head once and for all.

13. Mateo comes in and asks if he is okay. Pedro says he is and leaves. Mateo rummages through the desk looking for Juli's DNA paternity test results.  He finds them,  looks at them and returns them.  Lucas catches him and reminds him if he needs something,  it would be better if he asked Juan rather than go looking  through his desk.  Mateo finally comes clean and tells Lucas that he was looking for Juli's DNA paternity test results because the baby she is expecting is hers, not Juan's.

14. Simón umps out of the car and puts on a public spectacle of good will saying that he didn't see Deb. As a crowd gathers, Deb accuses him of wanting to kill her. Simón denies that. She insists she knows his true intentions.  Deb won't accept his excuses and will be filing a complaint against him for attempted murder. Quietly Simón says that he hopes that she wants to continue to play this "fright game", because this is just the start. Simón makes a show of asking she is okay.  He publicly asks if she wants to go to the hospital or maybe have Berta give her a massage. Very quietly, he advises Deb that she needs to watch her back  because any one of her steps could be her last.  Deb looks shaken as she leaves. Simón shouts out for  her to be careful as she leaves.

15. Juan passes by the fabric store and wants to talk to Aurora. He has a surprise when she asks if Pedro told her that she was working there.  He asks if she is talking to Pedro.

16. Sara tells Bea that her period is late.  After hearing about the dizziness and nausea, Bea asks her if she could be pregnant.  Sara scoffs at that idea but maybe . . .

17. Aurora explains that Pedro ran into her by chance yesterday. He looked really bad like something happened to him.  John tells her not to pretend she is interested in him when she never was. She insists that she does not want to fight only to talk about everything that happened. Juan thinks it is a little late for that. He is not interested in hearing what she has to say. He only wants her to get out of town. She doesn't see how she can leave when she only just arrived and why haven't resolved things long themselves. Juan wants her t stay away from him and especially from Pedro. He doesn't want her near the hacienda or his family. He reminds her tan Catalina gave them the love and affection that she denied them.  Aurora insists she is no animal but the woman that gave him life. Juan says that is why he is there to make her an offer. How much does she want to go away and leave them in peace? She wants what he loves the most: his inheritance from Catalina: the Santa Catalina Refuge.

18. Bea and Sara imagine how great it would be if Sara were pregnant but Sara says this wouldn't be the best time.  Again Sara says she is is sure she is not pregnant. Sara tells Bea the baby would be Juan's. Bea says being a there is the best thing that could happen to her. Sad swears her to secrecy about the issue.

19. Juan is surprised Aurora would even know about Refuge. Has she been investigating them? She reminds him that she worked at the hacienda so she knows it perfectly.  She explains that she asked him for the Refuge because she is sure that he will not give it to her. She wanted to prove that she didn't come to get anything from them. Juan tells her not to insult his intelligence. Neither he nor Pedro deserve a mother like her. How much does she want?  She insists she doesn't want anything. She cannot believe how insensitive he is to the woman who gave birth to him.  Juan thinks a mother is not somebody who just gives birth to you.  She asks "her son" not to judge her. Juan corrects her. He  is  JUAN DEL MONTE. Thanks to his parents he has more happy than sad memories of his childhood. Unlike Pedro, he does not wish she were dead, he just doesn't want tone bothered by her anymore.  She insists that she has repented. He doesn't care. Juan wants to know her price  and then for her to disappear. He can watch people, too. He knows everything about her.  She insists she loves him and Pedro and wants t prove she is sorry. he say shears his telephone number. He just needs the amount and that is it. He warns her not to step a foot even close to the hacienda.

20. Deb runs into the fabric store ending their conversation informing Juan that Simón wants to kill her. He is crazy!

21. Mateo asks Lucas to keep his secret. Lucas agrees. Mateo confesses that he made love to Juli right before Juan asked for her hand in marriage. Lucas asks how could he?? Mateo says he now knows that he did the wrong thing and feels horrible. That is why he wanted to see the DNA paternity test that Juan and Juli had done. Mateo says regardless of what the test says, the child could be his that is why he needs a blood sample from Juli. Lucas tells him he is playing with fire and needs to calm down. Mateo says he needs to be sure that the baby that Juli is expecting is not his.

22. Rosa is all excited and ready to go dress shopping with Juli. Prospi tells them to not spend too much. Juli says no worries because it is Juan's responsibility to pay for her dress.

23. Prospi asks how Brayan is feeling. Brayan says he is feeling so-so and is going to quit his job. Jessica goes bonkers hearing that. What about their house with a pool?

24. Pedro, Sara and Tadeo are out in the park. Pedro is glad she is feeling better. he would just die if something happened to her, just like he would if something happened to Tadeo. He is grateful to Sara for saving Tadeo's life. He thanks her for believing him about the fraud. He swears he knew nothing about what was really going on. Sara believes him.

25. Simón is quick getting over to the cantina with Brandon as his witness to explain about the "accident" to Paloma before anyone else can. He explains that he saw Brandon. He bought the flowers. He got into the SUV and started up just as Deb was crossing the street.  Brandon agrees that is what happened. Paloma says she believes him but doesn't want any trouble with Deb.  Simón says he has a feeling that Deb won't be at the hacienda much longer. Paloma looks concerned. Simón notices and asks her if she is worried about something.

26. Paloma suggests that she and Simón eat supper at the cantina because she is going to sing with Beatriz at the cantina tonight. Simón makes it clear that he doesn't want her doing something like that. She says she is only doing into have fun.  She starts to cajole him so he will say yes. (BARF)

27. Jessica is having a major meltdown with Brayan. She is are he wants to leave the hacienda because he is involved with one of the women who works there. It is the usual blah, blah, blah.

28. Juan sees Sara, Pedro and Tadeo in the park  and looks sad as he walks by.

29. Everyone and anyone is at Sal's cantina for the performance. Brayan comes to work a few hours waiting tables. Jessica is embarrassed and wants him to leave. Prospi has to explain to her that what he is doing is nothing bad. She cannot see him leaving the ranch to work at something like this.

30. Bea has named her duo with Paloma "Las adoloridas" after Sal's cantina.  They sing a song about "adoloridos" (those who have been hurt) knowing how to start over. It is dedicated to Sara.

31. Adela notices MATI'S backpack. Brandon manages to snatch it away from her just as she is going to open it. He explains he is taking care of it for Mati. Adela is too tired to argue with him.

32. As Berta gives Rosa a facial, they discuss how they are going to get into Deb's room tomorrow at the hacienda during the wedding celebration to find  Rosa's letters to Severiano.  Rosa already has a master plan in mind.

33. There is more music a the cantina and Lucas gets everyone to dance. Alondra is going to the bathroom and asks Juli to come with her leaving Juan on his own. He asks Sara to dance.  Simón is being his jealous self and tells Lucas that Paloma will not be singing again. He will not have guys whistling at her and harassing her. Lucas cannot believe he is acting like that being a psychologist and all. Lucas dances with Alondra and Juli is left watching Juana and Sara dance. Prospi jumps up to save the day. Jessica wants Brayan to take her home (DUH! he is working) Pedro sees Brayan and smiles at him. He pats him on the shoulder and asks him how things are going. Is everything okay? Brayan is terrorized once again.

34. As Juan and Sara dance, Juan says this is the last time he will ever have her this close. Sara hopes he is happy at Juli's side. He doesn't think that will ever happen for as long as he loves her.  She thinks bur doesn't say that she will have to put up a good front tomorrow because she will be losing him forever.  She looks sad and holds him  closer. Pedro wants to break them up but Lucas stops him from making a scene. Juan is getting married tomorrow.

35. Later that night, Sara is in the kitchen making herself a cup of tea. Who should appear but Juan who couldn't sleep. She asks him how he feels about tomorrow being his big day. He answers that he hasn't stopped thinking about their dance. Juan adits what he feels for her doesn't fit within him.  She tells him she doesn't want him making this harder than it is. He made his decision. He wants her to say that she doesn't feel the same way about him. She asks him to stop and not to do this to her. He feels like he is hopelessly in love with her. He goes to kiss her. She refuses because he is going to get MARRIED. (DUH!)  She refuses to ruin his family like hers was. He has it in his power to do things the right way. Their love is a part of the past. They need to look forward to their futures. It is up to her to find her own happiness. She wipes his tears and leaves.

36. The morning of the wedding Juan is in his office. He remembers his father telling him that he needs more than a companion for a wife. It should be someone that he still loves when he draws his last breath just like he loved Juan's mother Catalina. The best legacy that he can leave to his children is the love that they will have to share with those who love them.

37. Everyone is getting ready for the wedding at Rosa's house. Juli appears and her parents think she is the prettiest bride ever. She thanks them for being with her at this moment when she is the happiest woman in the world.

#59

38. The wedding ceremony is taking place outside at the hacienda. Everyone is there. The justice of the peace talks about marriage. Rosa starts off the rude behavior by remarking loudly how pretty it all sounds. Then it is time to sign the marriage certificate. Juan is given the pen and he turns to lookout Sara who is visibly upset. What he doesn't know is that Sara took a pregnancy test that morning and it was positive. He steels himself and turns back around.  At Modesto's urging, he signs the certificate. He gives the pen to Juli who remembers telling Pedro that her baby was Mateo's and not Juan's. He though  that was going to cost her. She reminded him that it was to his benefit for Juan to thing that the chid was his. All she was asking was for Pedro to get the family doctor to falsify the results of the  DNA paternity test. Juli looks around as her mother urges her to sing. She looks at Mateo. Then Pedro gives her a "go-ahead" nod. She smiles at Sara, turns around and signs the certificate.  They are pronounced man and wife. Everyone applauds. Rosa gets up shouting of them to kiss.  Deb calls her ridiculous. Rosa shouts back calling her the mother of a freeloader.  Berta tries to quiet Rosa down.

39. Pedro seems to see a woman (Aurora?) entering the house as Juli and Juan say their very short personal vows to each other. They finally kiss ( but are the unhappiest looking married couple ever.).

40. Sara decides to leave. Lucas tells  Pedro that he is going to see about her. Alondra is aggravated that her date is AWOL with Sara.

41. Lucas finds Sara and guesses that she is pregnant. He promises to support her all the way as her buddy and to  not tell a soul about her condition. She Ioves her bro and hugs him. Alondra has followed them and has spied on them. She is not happy.

42. The "no-fun"  reception has begun. Modesto tells Juan he was a real man for what he did today living up tons responsibilities. Julieta asks Mateo if this okay. He asks why wouldn't he be??  Deb asks Juan waits wrong?? Did he lose Sara? He says no and tells her to enjoy the party. Dante  excuses Debarking that alcoholic a bad advisor. Deb will not be quieted and announces to everyone at the party that this marriage is all a big farce. Rosa tells her not to start anything. They continue to insult each other as they drink more and have to be split-up. Pedro wishes Juan and Juli all the happiness in the world. They serve it!! He then proceeds to get everyone out on the dance floor.  Juan is finally pushed into dancing with Juli.

43. Sara tells Lucas that she will tell Juan about the baby but not now. All she can think of is getting  away from this event.  Lucas warns her to not make any rash decisions ab talks her into going back to eh reception.

44. Berta makes her way into the house and Deb's room and starts searching for Rosa's letters but finds nothing.

45. Sal tells Paloma so many things  have happened so that he is there. She thinks you have to let go of the past and think of the future because you cannot change the past. Simón got son to philosophize about the role the past can have in the present when it comes to closing cycles, etc. Sal tells Simón that he was very close friends with his father Severiano but his great confident was Modesto. Also, Severiano and Prospi used to love to go the cantina. They would get drunk there. As a matter of fact,  that is where Severiano ran into Mateo and his mother who appeared one December dying from the cold. Simón only knows part of the story and wants to hear more.  Paloma decides she would rather dance instead and takes Simón out to the dance floor.

46. Modesto finds Berta in Deb's room and  she explains FINALLY what she is up to. If Prospi were to ever see the letters, it would just kill him.  Where are they???

47. Rosa is drunk and acting the fool while Juan and Juli look pained to be sitting together at the main table.  Juan notices Sara coming back with Lucas.  Juli asks him if he can't even stop looking at Sara. He tells her he wasn't looking at her "like that." Rosa and Deb are at each others' throats. When they are finally separated again, Brandon bings some humor to the situation introducing them as wrestlers. "In one corner you have "Doña Rosa La Poderosa" (Rosa the powerful one) and in the other corner "Doña Débora La Voladora" (Deb the flying one).  Agustín shuts him up. As son as Brayan sees Pedro he rightfully gets creeped out and Jessica notices his change in mood. He tells her that there is nothing wrong.  From her seat, Juli has to tell Rosa to act like the lady she is but that doesn't stop the  sniping between her and Deb. Pedro gets everyone back dancing.

48. Juli has the need to confront Sara as they both get some water to drink. She reminds her that Juan is her husband now and she will not put up with Sara  being a home wrecker like her mother is. She wants her to stay away from him. Sara assures her that she wishes her no ill will but hopes that she realizes  that she just got married to man she doesn't love. Juli tells her that she lost and wants her out of Santa Catalina.  Sara says Juli is the only one that has lost because by the time she realizes that this is not a competition, it will probably be too late.

49. Julieta puts her cards on the table and calls out Mateo on his pretending that everything is fine. She asks him if he still loves Juli. When he doesn't answer, she takes it as an answer. She thinks that Juli loves him, too, but not in a healthy way. Juli told her the other day that Mateo belonged to her. Julieta says she is a grown woman and  doesn't like feeling like she is the consolation prize in his life. He says that isn't true but she says she knows that it is. She knows that Juli only got married out of spite and is a destructive woman. People like her  can't be fixed by love. Her destiny is to be alone and she could even go mad.

50. Rosa's family bring her home because she is drunk like skunk but she is happy! When Prospi starts getting upset with her about her behavior at the wedding,  Brayan tells him to leave her alone because she is so much more fun when she is drunk. Berta agrees that she has never seen her so happy.

51. Deb is still drinking and comes into visit with Sara.  She noticed that the wedding put Sara in a very bad mood.  Sara criticizes her for getting drunk and ruining the party.  Deb says she just couldn't let Juli get her way so she had to make her suffer a bit.  Sara asks her mother if she felt different when she found out that she was pregnant.  Debs says she was worried that she wouldn't be a good mother.  The first time she held Sara in her arms, she was so afraid. How was she going to take care of something so small but she knew she had to be strong. . With Sara by her side, nothing was going to stop her. Sara says she did a great job raising her. Deb wonders why Sara is asking these questions? Sara says because she feels like her time at the hacienda is over.

52. Juan comes into his bedroom where Juli is waiting for him in bed. He is getting his clothes for tomorrow out of the closet early so he will not disturb her.  It sounds like he is sleeping some place else. Suddenly, she is attacking him for the way he looks at Sara. She knows he is dying of jealousy when he sees her with Pedro. She cannot take that he is thinking of another woman on her wedding night. He doesn't want to deal with this. He says he is tired. She thinks he would not say that if she were SOMEBODY ELSE. After Juan has to remind her ONE MORE TIME about how he told her exactly what his feelings were for her, she apologizes. She blames her emotional state on her pregnancy.

53. Pedro is in the home office remembering seeing Aurora walk into the house. He remembers being a kid and her telling him that life was a mess. She was doing him a favor, She asked which instinct was stronger: eating or living as she put rat poison on a piece of bread. She threw it at him. He grabbed it. Juan snatched it away and threw it away from them. He told Pedro that he would find him something to eat  and not to cry.

54. Deb tells Sara her time in the house will be over when she has all that is hers. Sara asks her if she does not realize that Juan has just married Juli and that she (Deb) is on the outs with everybody. Deb only has Dante left and Sara wonders about that being only a friendship. Deb says Dante isn' ther type. Debs says that Sara can still be happy with Pedro. Also, with contesting the will, she'll be in for more money. Sara tells her mother that she has changed her mind and will no longer contest the will.

55. Simón comes to bed and Paloma sees on his laptop that he is researching the possible secondary effects and precautions related to something. She asks him if he is going to be taking some kind of medication. He says no. It was just a medical article he was reading out of curiosity. Paloma tells Simón that he knows that she trusts him but she wants to know if he is sure that he didn't try to hit Deb on purpose.

56. Lucas brings Alondra into the house at the hacienda. She thinks it is strange that everyone is asleep. He starts to kiss her clearly wanting to take advantage of the situation. She breaks free and tells him how she didn't  like him spending all that time with Sara. He tries to explain that Sara is his sister. Alondra says that is the problem. Sara isn't his sister. She asks if he likes Sara.

57. Juli is so sad and still trying to convince Juan to stay with her. She is confident  that she will win back his heart.

58.  Deb is confused by the way Sara is acting. She asks her what is wrong. As Sara tries to avoid answering, Pedro conveniently appears. Deb happily leaves.

59. Pedro wants to kiss Sara but she has to pull away because she feels nauseous. She tells him this has been happening ever since she hit her head.  He suggests she go see a doctor tomorrow. This is not normal. She starts to throw up and asks him to get some wipes out of her dresser drawer but is too slow in telling him which drawer. He opens the "wrong" drawer and sees the positive pregnancy test stick.

60. Lucas tries to convince Alondra that he treats Sara as if she were a sister related by blood. He loves them both.  He and Sara have formed sort of a "brother/sisterhood" of secrets. Alondra wants to know what secrets. Lucas makes it clear that he only has eyes for Alondra and they kiss.

61. Pedro finds the wipes in the other drawer and wipes up the floor by the bed. He says that tomorrow he can take her to the doctor if she wants.  Now she just needs to rest. He kisses her on the forehead and leaves.

62. When Pedro leaves, Sara jumps up and looks for the test stick. She finds it in the drawer  and is convinced that he didn't see it.

63. Juli has pulled Juan to sit on the bed. All she is asking is that he sleep by her side tonight and hold her. Juan doesn't want her to be any more confused than she is. She asks him to do it for the baby and not to reject her on their wedding night. All Juan  can think about is Sara coming into the wedding on Pedro's arm.

64. Andrea and Lucas have been kissing and have moved over to the couch for some more activity when Lucas has a flashback of his rape. I will not say more about the rape scene because it was really too disgusting to describe. He jumps up saying that  he can't, he just can't. Alondra tries to console him.

65. Pedro is incensed that Sara is pregnant. It just cannot be!

66. Simón is having a nightmare where he is back in the crashed SUV with his father. It is upside down. Severiano keeps asking Simón to help him. Simón finally manages to free himself and kicks out the window. Severiano is begging Simón not to leave him. Simón manages to get out of the wreck and runs down the road. He then sees a vision of Agustín telling him that he knows the whole truth. He saw everything that he did to his dad. Simón wakes up in a sweat crying.

67. Rosa has a hangover the day after the wedding. Prospi is going to see Paloma about the store. Rosa will go with. He also says she will have to  apologize to Juli for how she was at the reception. Rosa doesn't remember what she did. Prospi asks Jessica where  she and her husband are moving to. Jessica is upset  he would ask her that and looks to Rosa for help. Rosa says sorry but she is backing up Prospi.

68. Sal is at the cantina when Cornelio comes in and has a seat at the bar. He says he has noticed that since Amado left, Cornelio is hanging around with Brayan. He warns him to to get him involved in anything because if he does he will have to deal with him (Cornelio). Cornelio tells him he is not about to get his "stepson" into anything. Sal asks about the scar on his face. Cornelio admits that Deb did into him.

69. Sara arrives at Avocado Central to find that her new office has been completed.   Simón comes to get Sara because several of their clients have cancelled  their contracts. They walk in on Juan dealing with another client that wants to cancel.   There is a new company in town that is offering better prices. The name of the company is Campo Verde.

70. Sal thinks that Deb has gone too far. Cornelio is worried she will go even farther. Sal says that Sara has no idea of the mother she ended with. Sal warns him that Deb is very dangerous. Her reminds Cornelio how she even threatened Paloma. Cornelio feels let down because Deb only used him. Now, he is only interested in being free of her. Sal reminds him we all have the chance to change. Now he has to do the best he can for Tadeo who is still his son. Sal advises him to see Tadeo when he is with Bea and see if get can get the restraining order cancelled so he and Bea  can look out for Tadeo's future together. (Ugh, anyone thinking about Bea???) Cornelio asks if the girls are still going to be singing again at the cantina. Sal says Bea probably will but not Paloma because her husband didn't like it.

71. Adela comes  to see Sal before work. Sal wants to talk to her later. Adela asks why the serious faces but presumes it must be because they found out how Deb pushed Tadeo down the stairs. Simón goes ballistic.

72. Juan thinks that their stock will be impacted by losing these accounts. Simón give Sara credit for closing the deal with the Russians which will greatly help them in this crisis. Sara says everyone was involved and deserves credit. Juan wants her to investigate this new company and find out all she can. He asks if Pedro has arrived. Simón says no and adds that he needs to be there to know everything that is going on. They all agree that they have to come up with a strategy to handle this problem and put a stop to it. Juan tries calling Pedro but he is incommunicado. They need to know what kind of offers Campo Verde is making so they can come up with a proposal to keep their clients. Sara is confident that they will come out of  this as the leader of the industry today and forever.

73. Juan shows Sara her new office. From today on, they will be closer. (He really is acting like Severiano's son)

Jarifa, you beautifully narrated these pivotal episodes. You gave us quantity and quality – no detail was omitted, no conversation not fully fleshed out. I missed much but you laid everything out with great clarity.

So many sparkling lines but my favorites include: “Rosa wants a BOTOX breakfast but Berta can only give her a DETOX breakfast” and “no fun reception.” Also, thank you for explaining "adoloridos" (those who have been hurt).

“What he doesn't know is that Sara took a pregnancy test that morning and it was positive. He steels himself and turns back around.” How ironic that it is Pedro having “read between the lines” who now knows the truth.

Aurora feeding Pedro the bread with the rat poisoning was disturbing and heartbreaking. I was sure it was Alondra descending the stairs in the background, poised to make a grand entrance. Juan doesn’t seem interested in having any personal conversation with Alondra although he’s so stoic it’s hard to tell. At least he is focused on getting her to leave no matter the cost.

The atrocities inflicted on Lucas (as you noted) were gruesome and “disgusting.” The much-preferred Julie, version #2 sees the truth for what it is - Mateo still loves Julie Stepford who is completely out of her gourd. If Prospi’s description of the depths of Julie’s madness is true (do we doubt it??), she is better off out of the picture.

I did enjoy Berta searching for Rosa’s letters and I’m not convinced she came up empty handed. Rosa and Deb were comic relief and there were several times other actors had to turn away from Rosa in order not to laugh. At least they took some of the focus off of the obviously despondent groom.

Sara suffers in silence.

Jarifa, thank you, thank you. Doing one hour recaps is hard enough but recapping two hours seems impossible. Much appreciation for you and Adriana slogging through these dialogue laden, action packed and marvelous episodes.

Diana

Thank you so much, Jarifa, for the amazing recaps. A big thank you to both Jarifa and Adriana for recapping double episodes. ¡Mil gracias!

I liked the "no-fun reception".

I laughed at Doña Rosa la Poderosa and Doña Débora la Voladora.

Will there ever be a planned pregnancy in a telenovela?

Jessica is very irritating. If both her and Bryan worked, she would have gotten her damn pool in some time. "She is are he wants to leave the hacienda because he is involved with one of the women who works there." ... No comments. "She cannot see him leaving the ranch to work at something like this." It's better than not working at all. Hmm, who could be doing that? Oh, I know! Jess!

"Simón makes it clear that he doesn't want her doing something like that." Is Paloma allowed to breath, Simón, or does she have to ask your permission for that too?

"Her destiny is to be alone and she could even go mad." Foreshadowing?

"Debs says she was worried that she wouldn't be a good mother." Debs was right.

"she put rat poison on a piece of bread" WTF????

"Ugh, anyone thinking about Bea???" Nope, no one. It's like she doesn't exist.

"Sal says Bea probably will but not Paloma because her husband didn't like it." Do I even need to comment on that?

Thanks again, Jarifa. I loved the recaps.

Looks like Juan is all set to be a real Severiano Jr. He marries Juli but won’t let Sara go.

Paloma knows that Simón was lying. It was pathetic how she had to cajole him to get to sing at the cantina. He is making no secret he is a control freak because he thinks it is all about him. Time to file her own divorce.

Julieta was one smart cookie telling Mateo she wasn’t buying his game and doing a quickie diagnosis of Juli.

I like how Pedro has that vacant far away look in his eyes as of late. Good touch.

The wedding was a hoot as well as the singing/dancing scenes at the cantina.

Looks like Deb’s plans are falling apart on both of her fronts with Dante AND Sara. What to do?

I was disappointed Adela didn’t have the energy to pursue the backpack issue.

Rat poison on bread? Really? That was another disgusting scene along with the rape scene.

Can’t wait until Monday!

Diana, glad you enjoyed the recaps. I agree that Deb and Rosa were very much the comic relief we needed. It was bizarre that Juan didn't even put up the pretense of being happy at the wedding. He seated so far apart from Juli at the wedding table with them each looking fed up said it all. I wonder where Alondra will pop up next, too. Good point about Berta maybe not having come up empty-handed. Guess we will not know until Monday.

Weirdo, yes, Brayan deserves somebody much better than Jessica who is a lazy waste of skin at this point. I did appreciate Prospi asking where they were moving to, . . just to keep her on track. That was a good one! I couldn't believe that Sal was advising Cornelio to try to get the order of protection rescinded. So many if the men in this thing are losers. I still do not know enough about Modesto to make a ruling on him. A planned pregnancy in a novela is a novel idea, evidently. Your comment made me laugh.

One more thing. Simón in the car crash had just a second when he looked at the trapped Severiano begging for help very strangely and very coldly. Hmmm . . . We know he is nuts after what he did toDeb. Maybe Agustín was right about him even if it just was by chance. We need to see more of that accident.

Jarifa, one of the biggest mysteries remains exactly what happened in the aftermath of the accident. "We know he is nuts after what he did to Deb." Exactly. He is like a tightly wrapped coil, ready to spring at any given moment.

I'm really starting to believe there will be no happy ending for at least two of the Del Monte boys.

Diana

Thank you for your recap, Jarifa! You got everything in these two action-packed episodes.

Aurora trying to poison little-boy Pedro with rat poison in the bread she handed him was despicable. What a monster. Good thing Juan stopped him from eating it. The woman has shown no remorse since she has returned, either, and is not to be trusted. At all.

Yikes. Pedro now knows Sara is embarazada. He can’t be happy about that. What next? Once Debora finds out, she will be impossible.

I have to (hate to) admit that Julieta's wedding dress was very nice and she looked pretty. Maybe it was because she actually smiled a few times?

Drunk Deb and Rosa at the no-fun wedding reception were so embarrassing. Yeesh. That whole wedding played out like a bad reality TV show.

Too bad Simon didn’t run over Deborah and take her out, totally.
The dream he had is exactly what Augstin saw!!! Ack! And yes, Jarifa, he did sort of look at Sev like he was thinking about just letting him die. He was still angry over Sev naming Juan as president of Avocados'R'Us.

Now that Lucas and Mateo have renounced their shares of the inheritance, how do Dante and Deb plan to get their hands on it? They sure act like it's a done deal. Wouldn't the unclaimed inheritances all go back into the larger pot to be divided up equally between whichever heirs are left? Am I thinking too much? Where is my telenovela beanie hat?

Only Dante knows that Campo Verdo is Pedro's company, right?

One hour episodes next week? Hooray!

Late to the party . I finally had a chance to watch Friday's episodes . yikes ... Jarifa, thank you for going above and beyond to give us every terrifying detail of two episodes .

Putting rat poison on a piece of bread and giving it to a hungry little boy is unbelievable Stone cold cruelty. How does Aurora have the nerve to show up and confront Pedro? She is totally responsible for damaging him beyond repair . I don't know what she wants , but I hope she gets nothing...no forgiveness , no money..even though I am a big believer in Forgiveness. I just hope that Pedro doesn't kill her because has enough sin on his soul.

What was Simon looking up online ? MCP beyond belief. Are there still guys like this around in this day ? I haven't had much experience with these types . ..except in work situations .

What is up with women leaving pregnancy tests lying around for people to find? In "La Hija", the heroine throws hers into the waste basket , and her wicked mother in law finds it and puts it into her purse !!! In " Ricos" , a character puts it into her desk drawer and her boss steals it to fake a pregnancy . Pedro looked shocked and angry when he found Sara's test . I guess he was thinking " San Juan wins again. "

Great work, Jarifa. At least we're back to single episodes tomorrow. This is exhausting.

Aurora deserves the worst Karmageddon of all the characters in this story. What could be worse than a woman killing her own children and then having the gall to expect forgiveness from them? If Pedro killed her i would acquit him on grounds of justifiable homicide.

It would be good to have a flashback to how Severiano got the boys. Aurora worked at the hacienda? When was that and why did she leave the del Montes' employ? Was she terminated or did she get pregnant by anyone there, perhaps Severiano himself? That would mean Juan is a del Monte by DNA. Since her hostility was aimed at Pedro because of his father that means that they are half-brothers, so who sired Pedro?

With 20 episodes left we are still getting more questions.

That was the most pathetic wedding ever. Juan is definitely not happy and will suffer until Juli Stepford gets what's coming to her.

Rosa and Deborah definitely showed how much class they lack.

More when I get home. I don't like how my phone behaves then I have to make corrections.

Urban, Aurora says she worked at the hacienda, and Juan was Sev's fav,so perhaps Sev is Juan's bio father. That would explain Several always favoring Juan.

Ha...thanks autocorrect for changing Sev to Several. Hey, it's not wrong . We have learned that Old dog Sev had several amantes and maybe several bio children. Can't wait for all the mysteries to be uncovered.

Gracias, Jarifa. Super job. Wow, so much action that you had to leave the couch! ;> Any way you choose to dish it is always fabulous.

I'm really enjoying this TN. You never know what's going to happen next and, so far, it's never out of left field and is believable that the character would act in that way. Kudos to the writers.

Can't help it. I laughed at Deb being scared s***less by Simon. But he's gone too far and is sinking deep. On the laptop, Simon was looking at a page on secondary effects of anti-depressants.

Lucas needs time, of course, but also another shrink, somebody with lots more experience.

I don't think there's a statute of limitations on child abuse. Aurora needs to be in prison.

ITA in the accident "dream," Simon look anguished and then wicked. They are doing a great job slowly unraveling this mystery.

The only thing I think I'm sure of now is that Juan and Sara will be together. How is he going to stomach Julieta for the long haul if he can't tolerate her for one night?

Thank you Jarifa! Another fantastic recap and back to one hour episodes tomorrow!! Yay!!

Urban, 'Aurora worked at the hacienda? When was that and why did she leave the del Montes' employ? Was she terminated or did she get pregnant by anyone there, perhaps Severiano himself? That would mean Juan is a del Monte by DNA. Since her hostility was aimed at Pedro because of his father that means that they are half-brothers, so who sired Pedro?' I thought the same thing!!! As soon as she said she used to work at the hacienda, I was like Juan is Sev's!!!!

I like Simon scaring Deb! :) It's actually the first thing he's done that I've liked. Because someone needs to up the ante on Deb, and even though nearly running her over seems crazy, he actually did the near accident in a very controlled, well planned and well played sort of way, which is actually a departure from his usual hot headed out of control crazy. Making me think that maybe, just maybe Simon was actually cool headed when deciding to play Deb's game instead of just getting nuttier.

Modesto congratulating Juan on being a 'real man' was a gag moment. I still don't understand why Sara is keeping her pregnancy a secret!!! She too has some sort of misguided martyr complex.

I really enjoyed Mateo chanting 'beso beso beso' at Juan and Pedro when he was trying to get them to make up at the beginning of the episode. It was hilarious!

Juli baby is smart to bow out! I would run far far away from that mess!!!

Sara should keep her pregnancy a secret for as long as possible, because one it is known, Juli will become even more BSC, make Sara's life a living hell, and she might even try to push Sara down the escalera of doom.

doris, I have been wearing my telenovela so much fir this one, I have to wash it weekly!

Susanlynn, the rat poison on the bread was so unexpected and so disturbing. The writers are sure pulling out all stops with this one.

Urban, we definitely need to see how involved Aurora was with Severiano and his wife while working at the hacienda.

Niecie, thanks for filling us in that Simón was looking at a page referring to an anti-depressant. I didn’t think I would enjoy this one as much as I have. Yes, the writers have done a good job.

Darcy, ITA about Julieta Baby. ITA that Modesto congratulating Juan was a real “gag” moment, too, especially after Juan had just been thinking about his father telling him not to marry somebody as a companion but rather to marry the love of his life.

Darcy, I hope you're right about Simon. It was so much fun seeing Deb totally flummoxed.

Thank you Jarifa for the heroic work doing the two hour recaps for the week; at least we have only1 hour beanie time next week.
I thought it was telenovela amazing that Juli was slim the day before the wedding but her wedding dress had the requisite bump. Will she bring Mateo's baby to term?

The villains ..Dante, Pedro, Deb , and Aurora are doing a dangerous dance as each struggles to get what he\she wants. I am suspecting that Pedro will bring them all down, including himself . The minor bad guys Rosa and Juli will have to pay some kind of price . I think Juli will lose the baby .

It occurred to me that if Juli Stepford is Severiano's child he would have strongly objected to Juan marrying her if Juan is his blood son unless.... he didn't know about one or the other. Or maybe it's Pedro.

And didn't Rosa look to conceal Juli's pregnancy at the wedding (unless her credit card has a limit)?

Sara should keep her pregnancy a secret for as long as she can. This disclosure could unleash homicidal tendencies in Juli Stepford.

I'm sorry to be this late with a comment, but I had a very busy weekend with celebrating my daughter's birthday. It was less drama than a Del Monte party, but it was also less fun for me.

Thank you for pulling double duty again, Jarifa, I'm soooo happy we're going to regular programming this week. I only watched bits and pieces unfortunatelly, so your recap helped out a lot and filled in some important blanks.

If Juan is Sev's child (he just might), and Juli, too (even if Sev didn't know about it), this actually means that half siblings have been dating for several years and could have even gotten married. I hope the show doesn't go there.
Urban, like you, I thought about Pedro being his child, because that would be the more heartbreaking way to go about it - the son who always thought he was less then, to be the actual blood heir.

Susanlynn, calling Sev Several is actually pretty clever, made me laugh out loud.

Sara is now in an impossible situation, having a baby in her situation is not exactly a blessing. Between the constant fighting with some of her siblings, living with her baby daddy and his wife under the same roof, and the repetitive attacks on the Del Monte family, I would probably go mad.

Doris, the inheritence that Lucas and Mateo gave up goes to the charities that Dante controls. That's why this has been his plan all along.

My guess is that Pedro will somehow convince Sara to say that she is pregnant with his baby. Juan did see him come out of her room one night, so from his point of view, it woudl be totally believable. This new company gaining power could also be a sign of bif problems for the avocado company. The type of problems that will make Juan and Sara work long hours side by side.

OK, I went back and checked the wedding epsiode with more attention to details.
Who would have thought that Pedro would end up being the life of the party, am I right? LOL How Sara can't see through this is beyond me (she wasn't there, but she's seen him act like this before). After seeing that flashback with the rat poison I have to believe this will come into play later on, why else be so specific about a details in the boys' life? We already know their mom is a monster.

Juan and Juli after the signing od the marriage contract were quiet a sight... both gloomy, not a smile on their faces... and while the rest of teh party guests seemed to be having some fun, they looked so out of place at the newlyweds table. Thank God for Rosa and Deb, for spicing things up a bit (with help from DJ Brandon).

Simon checking side effects of some medication might be a sign that he realizes he's not acting normal. This and the fact that he seems to ease up on Sara, makes me think that his redemption arc is starting. I do hope he checks with another teraphist before he takes anything, though, self medication, even if you are a doctor, is never good.
On the other hand, if he has a hard time with Paloma working as a LAWYER, he will NEVER agree to her being a bar singer, even if it's for her father's business.

Sara contemplating leaving it all behind is truly the smartest thing for her to do, considering her circumstances. I'm sure she will not do it, especially now with teh company being under attack by the competition.

Ah, Rosa and Bryan being friendly was a hoot, too. I bet these people were having the time of their lives filming this novela, I read some onterviews of teh Del Monte siblings saying how much they enjoyed doing the show. I bet it was the same for the rest of the cast.

Hmmm. Have Pedro and Sara had sex yet? I hope not because I think it would push me over the edge if he started insisting Sara’s baby was his. :0

Oh, yeah. Dante is set because he is the charities. Love it.

ITA that this must have been great fun to film since the plot is so over the top.

Even the way it was filmed with the shots of lips, eyes, shoes walking harken back to old time melodramas to me anyway. What a hoot! It is hard to take it seriously at times but it is so much fun to watch. It is hard to find things this entertaining.

Yes, this show has certainly been a thrill ride with lots of speculation. We started by believing that Sara was the only bio child of Sev and that the sons were all adopted . Then, we began Considering that Sara might actually be Dante's child. Next, we began wondering if randy, wandering Sev cheated on Catalina with someone other than conniving Deb . We kept adding names to the possible amante list...Rosa, Irma, Aurora , Adela...anyone who didn't move fast enough. Since randy old Sev is gone , how will we ever find out if one or more of the young folks in this show is his child \children? Who would be able to confirm it ? Silent Modesto? Have we put Brayan on the list of possible Sev offspring ? Should we place our bets ?

OT..Adriana,I am sure that you hosted a lovely birthday party for your daughter and that everybody was happier than grim, distracted Juan and pouty, disappointed Juli.

Thanks. I had forgotten about Dante's .... "charities."

Sara and Pedro have not knocked boots. I'm not sure they've even truly kissed. She looks a little nauseous every time he tries.

Did anyone else notice the dark color jacket Sara had on near the end of the 2-hr show? The sleeves looked like one of those garments that had been slashed by bears. LOL. The openings only showed when she moved her arms.

I like the speculation here that Pedro could be Sev's bio-son. That would be a very interesting twist.

The Comcast onscreen guide shows 2-hr episodes for Ricos this week. Ugh....pobrecito de recappers for that!

I wish double episodes on nobody whether they be recappers or viewers. There can be way too much of a good thing that ends up making it a boring or even a tedious thing.

Doris, yes , I noticed the slashes on Sara's sleeve jacket. I anyways notice the fashions . It seems that the ripped up jeans fad has traveled to slashes on other clothes.

Jarifa...and don't forget the avocados and all those avocado portraits at both the office building and hacienda. I was quite fascinated to see those avocado trees and the way that the avocados hang from those long stems. I will never look at the avocados in my local grocery store in the same way. Avocados R Us. We ❤ avocados.

Everyone's insightful comments really have me thinking.

Urban, on Aurora: "...did she get pregnant by anyone there, perhaps Severiano himself? That would mean Juan is a del Monte by DNA. Since her hostility was aimed at Pedro because of his father that means that they are half-brothers, so who sired Pedro?"

Something I'd never consdiered. From the impossible to improbable to the possible. It would be ironic if Pedro were Sev's son considering he had the car sabatoged and was actually responsible for his death.

Dante has copies of all the birth certificates and I'm sure he, and likely Deb have evidence to exactly who sired all of the children. These twists and turns always keep me on the edge of my seat.

Diana

The actor playing Severiano had near-black hair in his youth. Pedro and Lucas looks more like him than any other of the other three del Monte boys. Pedro, Lucas, and Juan have more decisive faces than Simon and Mateo.

So... Pedro being Severiano's bio-son makes the most sense due to the aforementioned irony and Sev's misguided attempt at toughening him up when the boys were young and his anger at discovering his financial shenanigans. Still, with him being dead and cremated how is anyone going to prove the paternity of any of that generation once the putative fathers are excluded? Only the women he left behind can identify their own children unless... there was a baby switch some time ago. Where did they all give birth and when? We don't know the exact ages of any of them.

Rosa, Irma, and Deborah likely gave birth in hospitals while Aurora and Adele may have done so at home. Since Severiano was mostly boinking women in his wife's social circle it would not seem likely that he boinked Aurora or Adele, the latter of whom doesn't cringe when his name is mentioned.

Oops, Diana; I had a problem posting and didn't hit Preview.

Birth certificates don't always correctly identify fathers. We are all suspicious of the possibility that Sara is Dante's daughter and that would not be on her birth certificate in view of Deborah's and Dante's plans to steal the inheritance by any means necessary. That would have been a rooky mistake.

If there were a reliable police character in this tale -- like the sheriff in Amor Bravio -- he would get all the younger adults' DNA for comparison. If Juli Stepford's paternal DNA doesn't match Jessica's and Alondra's that would be a beginning. Berta finding the unsent love letters would lead this to Severiano... maybe. We know nothing of his family of origin and nobody has said anything about where his parents or any siblings are buried... or whether he was adopted.

Diana, do we know for sure that Pedro sabotaged the car? I am starting to get very confused about all the crockpot theories that have been swirling around on the patio. I just don't know how we are ever going to find out if Sev had biochildren. It seems we all suspect Dante is Sara's dad because of his Immediate reaction after Henry had her attacked. I hope we get answers to our speculations .

We have the flashbacks that Sal has had about Sev telling him that Sev is Paloma's father along with her mother Irma telling Pal that she looks like her dad. Paloma is , therefore, the surest bet as being Sev's offspring . If so, Simon is out of the running to be Sev's bio son since they married and These shows stay clear of incest.

As for Lucas , how would Sev have met his poor mother ? Since Aurora has revealed that she worked at the hacienda , she would have been available for randy Sev, so either Juan or Pedro could be Sev's. Several definitely treated Juan as the golden child , so my bet is the Juan is his bio son. Maybe Pedro is Dante's son since they are both BSC and violent.

Thinking about avocado portraits (and yes, the number of those is laughable)....

Pedro has that big portrait of himself wearing a cowboy hat on his bedroom wall. QTH? That's a telenovela "tell", IMO, because many (most?) telenovela baddies often have portraits of themselves on the wall of their home or bedroom.

Rosa, Irma, Aurora , Adela...anyone who didn't move fast enough.

Susanlynn, too funny!

Aurora was such a foul, low-rent hooker doing tricks right in front of her sons who were cowering in a corner peeking at her. I can't see Sev doing it with her, or letting Juan and Pedro live in that squalor for so long before he rescued them. If he did Aurora, he definitely had a sex addiction.

I'm guessing Viewerville will not be satisfied if/when we find out who, in any one, is blood kin to Sev. There are so many inconsistencies for things to add up right. Like, why was Sev worried about Simon being with Paloma but not about Juan being with Julieta?

Sex addiction... that's the first time anyone has raised this issue.

Yes; if Severiano is the bio-father of either Juan or Pedro and knew it he would never have allowed Aurora to have custody of either of them in that squalid environment. He had at least that much conscience.

Both he and Pedro wear black in all their portraits and photos. Sara looks nothing like him. She doesn't look like Deborah either.

Both Paloma and Juli Stepford have dark to black hair. If he sired them Deborah will have a conniption and homicidal urges. Not that it even would take that much.

It may not matter if Severiano sired Pedro (since Tadeo is still a child), but it will matter in a big way if Sara isn't his. The only way to prove that is to get a DNA comparison with Dante, since somebody will eventually overhear something about how long he has been involved with Deborah.

Interesting comments, everyone.

The only thing that's sure is that at the end of this show, we'll need a new family tree.

I'll write my thoughts on the possibilities:
Sara: I think, just like you guys, that she's Dante's kid.
Juan: It would make a lot of sense for Sev to be Juan's dad. I'll stick with this theory.
Pedro: Pedro being Dante's kid would definitely be interesting. I really like this theory. If both he and Sara are Dante's children, then they would be half-siblings. Pedro will go nuts when he finds out if the theories are true.
Juli: I'm not sure about Juli. I have her on the "maybe" list.
Paloma: I still think that she's Sal's kid but Irma thinks she's Sev's.

I might add more people to the list later.

I feel sad for Modesto because he deserves a good kid. He may have no biological tie to Tadeo but is being a good abuelo to him. I don't consider it likely. It it would be nice for him and Berta to defy the odds.

Salvador still loves Paloma despite the possibility that she isn't his biological child.

Just had a chance to read the new comments . All these theories are percolatung. It will be disappointing if we get no answer to our predictions.

Wow.. time to make a flow chart of all the possible results of Sev's wandering....eye. How awful that Sev had zero scruples about sleeping with his wife's friends. Ugh . Toxic masculinity thy name is Sev.

What do Modesto and Dante know ?

"Aurora was such a foul, low-rent hooker doing tricks right in front of her sons who were cowering in a corner peeking at her. I can't see Sev doing it with her, or letting Juan and Pedro live in that squalor for so long before he rescued them."

That makes perfect sense (and well said) Niecie. TBut learning Aurora working at the hacienda was a total shock to me. Could she have been having an affair with Sev right under Catalina's roof?? Everyone else was...The first time we saw Juan and Pedro they were young boys and we don't know what happened between her leaving the hacienda and then. If she did become pregnant by Sev, wouldn't she have confronted him for money??

Susanlynn, I change my mind every five minutes about the accident and the aftermath, but someone tampered with the brakes and my money is on Pedro. I'm now thinking Simon wasn't involved. At least in that.

I'm still thinking Cornelio was Sev's son. But Modesto seemed to have loved his wife and we haven't seen any flashbacks.

doris, yeah, loved the self "portrait" on Pedro's wall :)

Diana

“If she did become pregnant by Sev, wouldn't she have confronted him for money??“
Good point, Diana. Debora wasted no time cashing in with Sev supporting Sara.

So now I doubt either of Aurora’s sons are Sev’s.

Doris, yes, that self portrait of Pedro is telling . Pedro was slowly simmered in Aurora 's hate and cruelty. He has no self worth . People like Pedro often exhibit bravado and egotism. They brag and pose to convince others of their power , but it is really them trying to convince themselves . Truly confident men don't have the need to convince anyone else of their worth . Juan stopped Pedro from eating that piece of bread with rat poison on it , but Juan couldn't stop Pedro from being poisoned by Aurora psychologically. Tragic. I think Juan survived with less damage because as a very young boy he had something to ficus on despite the horrible abuse and neglect ...Protecting and caring for Pedro.

Good point. If Aurora had gotten knocked up by Severiano why didn't she demand money? If another employee knew, could s/he have blackmailed her with the threat of ratting her out to Catalina?

We may be overthinking this.

I completely agree about Juan's emotional survival. He had a little brother to protect and defend. That can move mountains.

Diana, maybe Dante had a minion fiddle with the brakes because he was anxious to steal that inheritance .

As the saying goes, you need something to do, someone to love, and something to hope for. Sometimes you keep going for the sole purpose of keeping someone you love going.

“…maybe Dante had a minion fiddle with the brakes because he was anxious to steal that inheritance .”
Susanlynn - good theory! Dante said to Debora just an episode or two ago that he has been away from his family for too long.
