RICOS Episode 8 - Part 1

Events are not necessarily in order and in some events may be combined. I tried to note when I wasn’t certain what was said or what transpired. A huge thank you to Rgv Chick for providing crucial dialog.

We open with a repeat of Luis and Mariana chasing Pulgoso and being locked in a downstairs room. Marianna has claustrophobia and Luis is being very comforting. Mariana pounds on the door in vain. She frets but even the 1,000-watt Rulli smile barely calms her.

Britny and Santiago continue their very long taco lunch. She is helping him with his speech. She talks about her family, a long line of mechanics. The talk turns personal, and he asks if she has a boyfriend. Yes, she smiles - Polo. He hides a trace of disappointment and when asked, admits to not having a girlfriend as someone once broke his heart. They drive to the shop where Polo greets them, without a trace of a smile. She introduces Santiago as a friend of Marianna. Santiago puts out his hand and while Polo shakes it, he is stern and not friendly. As they walk arm in arm, Britney chastises him. Ack, later, Polo still calls Britney his future wife! And her father urges her to set a date for the wedding!! 😣

Mariana summons up some music on her phone and they while away the minutes dancing, Luis twirling her around rather expertly. They dance closer and closer, and their lips are inches apart as Mariana puts her hands on Luis’ shoulders and they both look enchanted. She pulls back and starts pounding on the door again. Luis grabs a bottle of wine, but Mariana doesn’t want to drink. Mariana is tense but Luis uses a bit of hand therapy to help. Mariana tells Luis about losing her godmother. When her father died, she went to live with her madrina, but when her madrina died, she was left all alone. She does have Britney and her family, but at that moment (when her madrina died) she stopped being a child…nobody’s child. Luis also tells his sad story that his father thinks he tried to kill him. Mariana shakes her head and knows it can’t be…he may be a lot of things, but he isn’t a bad person.

Meanwhile, Pugloso is barking away trying to tell a maid and Matilde something is wrong. It’s not normal the maid says. Matilde follows him down the stairs and opens the door. Mariana is thrilled to be reunited with Pugloso and thanks her. Matilde notices they are holding hands. Mariana ends up telling Luis he isn’t a bad person. Matilda is taking all this in and calls Sor to report.

RICOS Episode 8 - Part 2

The next morning, Mariana leaves the breakfast table and talks to Alberto about Luis. Luis is a good person she asserts. She asks Alberto if he really thinks Luis tried to kill him. After Alberto says he does, Mariana assures him that Luis is not capable of doing such a thing. Luis may be many things, but he would never do anything to hurt Alberto. She asks a favor – to please not argue with Luis. To treat Luis well, and with respect. Matilde takes her plate although she is still eating! Later, Mariana asks Luis to do the same.

Alberto and Elena meet at the mausoleum. She is in tears, and he is obviously distraught. They talk about how the children got along and recall a few happy memories. It was touching and sad. They arrive in the garage and Elena hugs him as frostbitten Daniela watches icily.

Patricia returns Sor’s money – thank you but no thanks. Sor is livid. After, Leon tells Sor he has good news. Patricia asked him for a raise, but he turned her down. Sor smiles, self-satisfied.

Victor meets with Javier, trying to buy his cannery. Javier complains about the low offer…his company is worth much more! As Victor walks away, Javier calls him back and seems to cave.

Osvaldo assures León that they left no loose ends; the men who placed the bomb are already out of the country.

RICOS Episode 8 - Part 3 (Last)

Alberto asks Mariana to be invited to the meeting he is having. I apologize but I did not understand most of this. I believe he asked Mariana to do a presentation (?) There were catty remarks by Elena and Sor and some kind of vote.

Sor asks if Luis is in his office and is told yes, with Mariana. Ahh, but they have left, taking the stairs. Mariana challenges Luis to go to a humble home to eat mole. He accepts and they roar off, Mariana adorning the back of Luis’ motorcycle. He gently places her hands around his waist. They have a nice time and Mariana’s friend mentions her health problems. Kind Luis offers to send her to his doctor. Luis then drops Mariana off at school and she introduces him to Britney. She admits to Britney she is in love but that nothing can happen as another woman is carrying his child.

Patricia’s hub gets a knock on the door and there is a refrigerator, compliments of the Salvatiera company.

Luis shows up at Sor’s and wants to take her somewhere. She grins and grabs her bag.

Surprise! Luis has brought her to his doctor! Sor is impactada! And there we end...

Gracias Diana. Your description of "frostbitten Daniela" was right on the money.

SorLoser and Leon gloating over what they are doing to Patricia was disgusting. I am sure that the fridge and the laptop were Luis' doing.

The meeting Alberto invited Mariana to was about the form and labeling of the mole product. It sounded like he was looking to update both and wanted Mariana's opinion because she was in a position to talk about who buys it and what they thought of the product. SorLoser was looking to get her friend a job as the model on the labels which I think means that Daniela no longer would be on the labels (photos taken 11 years ago when she met Alberto).

It would be a good thing if SorLoser's fake pregnancy plan gets foiled by this doctor.

Diana, thank you corvette recap. I like your writing style . Reading Your recaps is like reading a good book youcant put down.

I really enjoy this show . I watched last night but have up and went to bed fifteen minutes before the end .

Rulli is a smooth dancer. I would love to see him dance with his wife Angelique because she is an excellent dancer. She competed in a Mexica dance competition called "Bailando por la Boda de Suenos. " You .ca see it on YouTube .

Who knows about Pat's pregnancy ?

Clever of Luis to take Sore to his Dr as acsurprise. Ha

Thanks, Diana, that was a great recap. Luis and Mariana have the chemistry that was missing in the last couple of telenovelas I’ve seen. I really like both of them.

Alberto is such a nice man but a lousy father. The scene with him and Elena was so sad and touching. They would both be very different if they’d never lost their son.

I thought claustrophobia was in small places. That was a good sized room. I guess it’s being locked in, or not being able to leave, too.

I wonder who else knew Patricia needed the refrigerator. It seems like only Luis and Alberto would have the right to send it from the company. (and the heart!)

I feel like Sore will not get caught yet. This might just be meeting the doctor, doing weight and blood pressure. Before pregnancy tests you didn’t know you were pregnant for a couple of months. You could suspect, especially if you had morning sickness.

I liked Polo at first and didn’t want to see Santi and Britney together. Now I hope they become a couple!

Sore looks angry all the time . Cold. Calculating .

Leon's hairstyle makes him look like a middle aged Ken doll. Sometimes his hair looks almost pale blue.

I like Santiago more and more . I wonder what he will discover working in that plant .

Daniela is not going to like her image taken off those labels .

I would also love it if Sor's pregnancy hoax was discovered right away. But I have my doubts.

Yes, I think that feeling you can't escape is a part of claustrophobia. Mariana was so afraid and Luis so calming.

Also, the chemistry between Luis and Mariana does seem far more real than most TN couples of late.

I fear Sor is going to get out of a full exam somehow. But I loved that Luis took such proactive steps immediately to try and find out the truth!

It did cross my mind that Sor might have sent the gifts to sweeten the pot so to speak. She knows that money is tight. I liked Urban's theory that it (hopefully) was Luis but I'm not sure how he would know she is in need.

Does anyone else have a theory?? :)

I, too, was wondering how Luis would know that Pat is pregnant . I thought only Sore and Bore ( Leon) knew.

Losing a child either brings a couple closer or tears them apart. Alberto blaming Luis and treating him so cruelly is awful.

The chemistry between the leads is good.

I am not crazy about Britney , but it sure looks like she will end up with Santi. ...and her bff Mar with Luis. It's great when you like your bff's guy. Those are the best double dates.
 

Mexicana. Nacho is very generous with Sofi now that he's moving in with her. His insistence that he pay all the rent and other expenses frees her from her dependence on her overbearing father. Brandon is selfish, spoiled and not particularly bright. Chio, otoh, as others have mentioned, is a true hero. I hope she's rewarded with a huge university scholarship.

"Brandon is selfish, spoiled and not particularly bright" is so true. I might add "cruel" to that list, his behavior toward Helena has been monstrous.

RICOS Ep 8

Good (late) Morning...or early afternoon for some!

Diana, you are a marvel; thank you for such a satisfying read!

Let me start by explaining about the company meetings--regarding canning of the mole (pronounced mô lě). At the beginning of this series, there was the meeting where Alberto got very upset because Luis was proposing that they change the packaging of the mole from aluminum cans to a flexible type of pouch/package. Alberto nixed the idea saying there was no need to change what was already selling well. Later, when Alberto was convalescing, Leon talked Luis into having another meeting and Luis got the vote to change the package and get a contract with Leon's recommended packager. When Alberto found out that they had "dismissed" Javier's canning company, ALberto brought him back (this is why all the bad stuff happened to Javier...compliments of Leon). In the meeting last night, they continued the discussion about changing the can to a package...and that's when Alberto called in Mariana for reasons that Urban stated quite well. Mariana favored the package to the can; thus appeasing and supporting Luis's recommendation. And Sore took advantage and proposed that since the can was going to change, then the label (model for the label) should also change...to her friend, Sofia.

Luis does not know anything about Pati's financial woes or her pregnancy. When Leon met with Sor and told her about Pati asking for a raise, he also mentioned that Pati had told him about needing a refrigerator..and other needs. SO I'm pretty sure the fridge and lapatop are coming from Sor.

Susanlynn, "Elena likes pushing Daniela's buttons." Yes she does! She was almost salivating when Mariana agreed that the label and model should change and Daniela stormed out! Mariana apologized to Daniela before telling her that Dani didn't seem like the type to make mole. LOL Oh and that led to Mariana challenging Luis to go to a humble home to eat mole.

It was actually nice to see Alberto and Elena smile when they talked about Luis dressing up as a clown (when he was a child) and Mateo becoming so excited that he wanted Luis to dress up all the time...and Luis obliged whenever he could.

Oh and I enjoyed the conversation between Mariana and Luis before he took her over to her school. Mariana mentioned that Luis didn't seem too happy about Sor's pregnancy. Luis replied that he had always dreamed of being madly in love with the mother of his (future) children...and admitted he is not in love with Sor. He also added that he really enjoyed spending time with Mariana, so Mariana suggested that they could still be friends.

There was also a scene (not sure of the sequence) where Mariana assured Luis that she knew he couldn't have tried to kill his father; then added that if it wasn't Luis then there was someone out there who might try killing Alberto again. Luis told her that he was going to do his own investigation.

What a fun wedding! At least I thought so, but Andrea and company didn't look that thrilled with things.

OK, so Katya's fake father crashed the party (how?) and Erika did manage to show up so Gladys and Mario had to flee, and Sebastián was a real wet blanket, as usual, but all in all, a really fun wedding! (And, for once, Sebastián was right.)

One minor point: Tyler, who is American, could have worn a tie since he was accompanying the bride. Oh, well, not that big a deal.

And how clever it was to have a marching band start up just when the judge named the bride out loud so that nobody heard her real surname.

How Andrea arranged for a sudden rainstorm to bring the wedding to a swift conclusion, I can't imagine, but she's one clever lady   :-)

A few notes which may or may not be accurate 😊 Andy, you just posted and I've quoted a few of your clever comments.

Guests are seated on the lawn, Dona Maty enjoying some pre-wedding cocktails; Vilyeri and Marcia looking very pretty. Sofia and Ignacio arrive, bearing cartons of liquor. Daggers between Gladys and Sofia. Rene is a roving photographer. Mario is caught looking at Sofia. Gonzalo also looks annoyedly at Marcia across the lawn. Ignacio is keeping Santiago and Diego away from Sofia and stops her from going to say hello. Sketchy behavior for certain.

Luis, Boni and Brandon are hootin’ and hollerin’ (watching the TV Brandon absconded from home) to the point Isis pulls the plug! The guys eventually pull her in and all are having a cool one watching futbol!

Tyler accompanies Katya down the aisle in her too short dress and limp hair. Vilyeri looks on shaking her head. Santiago is the best man. The papers are signed when a male voice screaming “Andrea” is followed by Katya’s fake father, Sabino. Rene and Andrea leave with him. Katya lies he is her father. Chabela and Diego comfort her. I couldn’t tell what their conversation was. Gonzalo questions the paternity to Chabela who coolly holds her ground.

Erica makes it to the ceremony (as Gladys grabs Mario’s hand and makes a hasty retreat). When we see Paulina, it appears her leg is broken. She wants to go home.

Sabino now standing with Andrea and Rene (?). As they come to the vows , just as Katya is about to say yes, there is an interruption. "And how clever it was to have a marching band start up just when the judge named the bride out loud so that nobody heard her real surname." Thank you Andy, I didn't realize that was the reason but that was smart and sly. After being pronounded man and wife (for realz!), Katya lays a huge liplock on Diego as Sebastian and Vilyeri look on apprehensively. Then the skies open and a fierce rainstorm ensure. "How Andrea arranged for a sudden rainstorm to bring the wedding to a swift conclusion, I can't imagine, but she's one clever lady :-)" And how Andy! And how!!

Tyler appears to give Sabino a “talking to”. Andrea later threatens him with a knife! Rene knocks him in a room which perhaps is not a good idea as he ransacks the draws and finds a fortune under the mattress (must be Maty’s room).

Mario is very short with Gladys. Trouble in paradise - such as it was. Seb stops Diego to talk as Katya and he try to leave. Ignacio glares.

Diego makes it known the marriage is at an end (correct me if I’m wrong). I didn’t understand the rest. Santiago frets. Andrea and Rene talk about ?

Diana, you have a great eye for detail which is enormously helpful for those of us, mostly me I guess, who are easily distracted by a little cleavage. Or, in Sofía's case, quite a lot. Hmmm.
I did miss more than a couple of the things you mentioned, so thank you very much.

It really was a great wedding. Perhaps not the sort anyone would actually want for their own wedding, but for telenovela viewers it was a real treat.

My close friend and helper, Srta Closed Captioning, tells me the doctor told Paulina that she had suffered a second degree ankle sprain. Not fun, but not very serious if she takes proper care of it.

René did lock Sabino in doña Maty's room. Sabino made me laugh. Low life that he is, he almost immediately started going through Maty's jewelry, etc., but not much there for him. He went through the drawers of the dresser and found some photos and realized it was an older person's room.
Then he said to himself, "These old farts like to hide their money under the mattress!"
This made me laugh out loud, and I'm paraphrasing a bit, of course. But he was right and he found Maty's money.

"Trouble in paradise - such as it was." Yeah, I'm not happy to see that. I think we all consider the effect a divorce can have on children, Melody in this case. But Sofía and Mario were not a happy or cooperative couple, and I suspect that Sofía doesn't really have that much affection for Mario, she just doesn't want to be "bested" by another woman. I'm on Team Gladys, despite Sofía's obvious and lovely "advantages."

Ignacio is basically a very good guy, a bit goofy at times, but a good guy. His prejudice is a shame.

Diego did not actually want to go with Katya to the marital suite, it was just a fake wedding after all and, well, you know. But they went, and they did have a little heart to heart talk and Diego told her he wants to quit his role next week. Katya was dismayed. I am worried about Katya, I think she is more than just obsessed with Diego, she is a bit looney tunes.

Ahhh, it was seeing Maty's pic that made Sabino suspect her bank of choice was in that very room. Clever. Rene thinks he is SO smooth.

I think you are right in that Sofia always wants the upper hand. She is definitely resentful of and jealous of Gladys, but I did start to believe that she might love Mario after all. I do think Mario definitely would go back with Spfia, with the slightest encouragement. All this does not bode well for poor Gladys. I so respect your objectivity and integrity that you are "Team Gladys", "despite Sofía's obvious and lovely "advantages". 😊

And finally, Katya. Yes, she is over the edge. I wonder how she will break the news to Diego. Enough is enough. Will she agree to a quickie divorce?

Thank you for (so nicely) slipping in what I miss and what I misinterpret. I really appreciate it.

RICOS Ep. 9 Part 1

Bare bones again…no frills :-)

Repeat of Luis and Sor at the doctor’s office. Sor hesitantly agrees, but asks to go to the restroom…she feigns fainting and asks what happened. The doc assures her that the gynecologist will soon be there but Sor insists that she only wants to see her own gynecologist. Luis caves :-(

Daniela thinks Elena was the one who had the idea of replacing her on the label. She and Alberto argue since Dani thinks that Alberto isn’t giving her the rightful place in the company.

Luis is surprised that Elena knows about the pregnancy. Elena assures him that she was the one who pressured Sor into telling her. Elena tells Luis that the baby will ensure that he gets control of more stocks in the company. Luis then tells her that he owes money so he used some of his stocks as collateral. Elena offers to give him the money so he can pay what he owes.

Mariana apologizes to Dani. She isn’t used to important people asking her opinion and she feels she hurt Dani. Dani remains frosty. After Mariana leaves, Alberto reproaches her for not accepting Mariana’s apology

Luis has stayed with Sor all afternoon and Sor hopes he stays the night. They talk about being scared to be parents. Luis hopes he doesn’t make the same mistakes his father made. Sor assures him that he will not be like his father…he will never make his child suffer.

Next day—

Sor calls Pati who is leaving her house and summons her to her car. Sor admits that she sent the new things to Pati’s house. Sor wants to be friends (yeah right!) Sor tells Pati that she is afraid of losing Alberto…ever since Mariana arrived.

Dani humbly confesses to Mariana about thinking that she could be Alberto’s daughter. Mariana doesn’t want to cause problems for Dani and Alberto and thinks she should leave the mansion. Dani and Alberto convince her to stay. Mariana is very thankful and HUGS Dani!

Sor convinces Pati to go along with her lie despite Pati feeling bad about doing something like his to Luis. UGHHH!

 

RICOS Ep 9 Part 2

Luis goes to visit his Nana and tells her his news…he is going to be a father. Nana knows he doesn’t love Sor but thinks that once the baby arrives, he will change his attitude.

Sofia assures Sor that the woman she is going to get will ensure that Sor will appear to be pregnant…and Sofia wants to be compensated.

Luis asks Mariana to search the internet for a heated pad…to be sent to an address he will give her (for his Nana).

Luis shows León that he has the money to get his shares back. León is not happy!! So he calls Victor and tells him that he needs to get Luis to lose the money (gambling) before he can get his shares back.

Mariana tells Luis that she found the heated pad and wonders who it’s for. Sor arrives and takes Luis away. Coco notes that Mariana looks sad so Mariana asks if she has ever felt angry at herself for having feelings she shouldn’t have.

Sor takes Luis to her bogus doctor.

Father Guillermo goes to see Alberto. They look at a pic of Alberto, Guillermo and Rafael (Sir’s father). Father G asks if Alberto could sponsor the church’s fútbol team. Alberto agrees. Mariana then laughs as she tells Father G that Dani thought she could be Alberto’s daughter.

The bogus doctor shows Luis an ultrasound.

The bogus doc asks to talk to Sor alone. Sor hands her the compensation. Later Sor wonders when they will tell everyone about the baby. Luis wants to take it a step at a time. Luis gets a call from Osvaldo who dangles the gambling carrot…and convinces him to participate in a closed poker game.

Sor is getting Sofia ready for the photo shoot, but Dani arrives with Alberto who tells Sor that Dani will continue being the model.

Pati tells Felipe that Sor sent the things but she will be paying the company back for the things Sor sent. Felipe knows something is up because Sor doesn’t do things like that without a reason. Pati finally admits that she is pregnant. Felipe is ecstatic!!

Luis gambles away the money Elena gave him to pay his debt and get his shares back.

One of the casino guys approaches Luis and tells him he has info about who set the bomb….and of course he wants LOTS of money for the info.


 

RICOS Ep 9 Part 3

Luis tells Becerra about the guy who offered the info about the bomb. Becerra is suspicious and thinks the man just wants money. Becerra wants to inform Alberto but Luis doesn’t want Alberto to know.

Mariana takes the heated pad to Luis. Luis takes her with him to his Nana’s house and gives Nana the pad. While Mariana goes to the restroom, Nana tells Luis that she now understands…he is in love.

Luis goes to see Sor. He wants to be sincere…he needs to borrow money; and he tells her why he wants it…to pay a man for info about the bomb. She questions him and clueless Luis tells all! Luis assures Sor that once he gets back from delivering the money, they can announce the pregnancy.

At the factory, Santi eats with his coworkers. He learns that one has two kids and the other one, Emilio, works to support his mother. When they ask Santi about himself, Santintells him he lives near the church. His lie backfires when his new friends want to go to his place.

Sor questions León about the bomb. She tells him about the man who offered Luis info about the bomb. León them calls Osvaldo who assures him there is nothing to worry about…as he gets his gun.

Becerra and Luis wait for the man…(who never arrives.) As they wait, León calls Luis and tells him he has his shares, so Luis needs to bring the money.

Luis enters León’s office as León’s secret red phone rings. Luis answers and Osvaldo calls out León’s name.

Emilio invites Santi to go for some beers. Santi begs off because he would rather go to his place. Emilio says “no problem, we can have the beers at your place!” As Emilio walks off, Santi quickly calls Britney since he needs HELP!!

Luis questions León about the phone and why Osvaldo is calling him. Ta-ta-ta-TUM!!

Thank you for the excellent recap Rgv Chick! You painted each scene perfectly.

Mariana seemed to sense she was pushing Alberto away and reconsidered her annoying tactics. I was surprised she apologized to Marianna. Beyond that, I was shocked she seemed truly touched when she returned Mariana’s happy and grateful hug. Alberto was similarly astonished, mouth agape.

Luis is robbing many Peters but isn’t paying any Pauls. He is gambling money faster than he can borrow it. He has already borrowed from Sor and Elena. What other money trees can he shake?

Felipe is shrewd and knew things were amiss. At the least, it prompted Patricia to finally tell him she is pregnant. His overjoyed reaction was wonderful to watch. Patricia really lucked out.

Likeable Santi has already made some solid friends. Too bad everything he says is a lie. In scrambling to find a “home” it looks like Britny’s family will have a new member. Ahhh, won’t Polo and her father be delighted! 😊

“Luis enters León’s office as León’s secret red phone rings. Luis answers and Osvaldo calls out León’s name”. Now the cards truly are in Luis’ hands. Let’s hope he plays them right. For once.

Chickie, thank you so much for the speedy quick recap. I only saw the begining, and then I was too tired to stay up to watch the rest , so I went to bed , but I recorded it. Now , when I watch, I will know what is happening.

I was watching Cantu ( Alberto) and thinking how amazing he is. Whatever role he plays, good or bad, he makes me believe he is that character.

I was surprised at Dani suddenly changing her attitude toward Mariana. What is up with that ? They keep bringing up Dani's suspicions about Alberto being Mar's father and showing that photo of Alberto and his two friends when they were young . Is one of his friends Mar's father ? The priest or the other guy ?

Sussanlynn, hmmmm. The picture shows Fr. Guillermo AND Soraya's father. As implausible as it might sound, could there be a blood relationship between Soraya and Marianna??? One need look no further than La Herencia for another possible connection, right?

Diana, that's what I was thinking ....will it turn out that Mar and Sore are sisters ? The telenovela writers love this trope. It's getting old for me.

However, I still don't know why the idea of Alberto being Mar's father popped into Dani's head.


What is up with Sore's annoying pose with Luis of stooping her shoulders with her head down and looking up at him? Is it a pose showing weakness to elicite his sympathy and protection?

Thanks, RGV Chick, for the excellent recap. I couldn’t believe the change of attitude in Dani. But she had looked at the DNA again. Did she think it was going to change in her nightstand!

I feel like there was cheating in Luis’ card game. He seemed to be winning and then bets all! I’m glad he is trying to find the people behind the bomb. Too bad he told Sori!

I hope Santi can pull off his impersonation of a regular working guy. At least for a little while!

I loved the reaction of Patti’s husband! So enthusiastic and excited for a new baby. Quite a difference from Luis! Although Luis did seem moved at the ultrasound!

This is early in the series for Luis to discover Leon’s secret, but guess it’s only one of many.

I am watching the episode now. Wow, so many easily corrupted doctors in these novelas. This corrupt doctor looked familiar . I think she has had much bigger parts in other shows.

And another pretend pregnancy . In the recent Turkish dizi" Amor Valient" on Telemundo, a character faking a pregnancy bought a bunch of fake bellies . Then she got pregnant for real. If Sore plans to wear fake bellies, she will have to make up a lot of excuses to keep Luis from touching or seeing them. Being evil is so complicated and takes so much planning and plotting !
 

I watched the meeting with the priest, Alberto, and Mar in Alberto's office , and my mind is working . The priest has known Mar for a long time, and he is the one who asked Alberto to help her . Do he and Alberto both know that her father is their dead friend? There has to be a reason that Dani keeps focusing on Al being Mar's father and they keep showing us the photo of the three friends in the past. The priest brought Mar and Alberto together for a reason . If Mar and Luis are end game as they seem to be soulmates, they cant be siblings. If Al is Mar's father, he can't be Luis's fathe, so maybe the friend was her dad and at least the priest knows this and wants her under Alberto's protection. Telenovelas are always full of secrets , mysteries ,and red herrings .

Liz, yes, the Sketchy guy standing behind Luis ( who talked to him outside after the game ) and the dealer exchanged tricky looks after Luis lost to that girl. They set him up.

I hope that Luis wakes up and gives up gambling and starts his hero's journey upward And onward soon. It is painful to see him being his own worst enemy . He has a good heart. He only looks happy and relaxed when he is with the beaming , ever hopeful and positive Mariana.

Becera seems to me to be a good, honest guy, and I am hoping he will become an ally to Luis. Also , Santi is a good guy and may discover things that are going on while working in the factory . Hopefully , the good guts will eventually uncover what weasly Leon and scheming SorLoser are up to. Leon and Sore are juggling a lot of evil things.

Beyond that, I was shocked she seemed truly touched when she returned Mariana’s happy and grateful hug. Alberto was similarly astonished, mouth agape. LOL I think we all had a "mouth agape" at this 180 for Daniela!

The drawback in taking notes while watching is that you miss a lot of visuals; so Susanlynn, thank you for pointing out Sor's droopy shoulders! She may be trying to get Luis's sympathy,but shehas struck out several times already. HA!

Liz and Susanlynn, sadly, it doesn't seem as though Luis has any idea he's being fleeced. The only way for him to escape most of his troubles is to stop gambling. Easier said than done (as with any addiction). At this moment, sadly, I don't think he is prepared to do any such thing.

I am hoping that Mariana can be the support Luis needs to wake up and see what is happening around him . He had an interesting look on his face when he answered Leon's phone. Did he recognize the voice ? He gave Leon a weird look , and Leon looked worried. I hope this may and that Luis starts paying attention to what is going on around him . Maybe clever Mariana will start noticing things, too.

Is Dani really softening toward Mariana or just trying to appease Alberto?

Watch Sore, Sometimes when she is talking to someone , she lowers her head and looks up at them with a very dangerous look on her ferel face. She reminds me of a tiger ready to pounce on its victim.

By the way, Sore's shorty short , tight dresses are an engineering miracle . How does she sit down without a desk in front of her ?

I am already really tired of her endless mi amor mi amor mi amor as she grabs Luis . There's one of these women in every telenovela.

But who doesn't love futbol? I agree about the clever use of music (and some fireworks?) to disguise the use of Katya's real surname in the ceremony. Wow! So right, Andy! Did Sabino ever luck out! Thanks to his theft of Maty's savings, his financial problems are now solved. I wonder if the police will ever catch him or if he will use his knowledge (at least partial) of Andrea's scam to keep from being reported. Katya and Diego should not have a divorce but an annulment, based on (1) Diego was lied to; (2) No consummation of the marriage. I have a sister-in-law whose first marriage was annulled based on her first husband's neglecting to mention that he was employed by the Mafia.

Katya getting him drunk. I can’t believe she set him up thinking they’d slept together and her histrionics. I am so glad he left her panicking…

Ignacio read the letter but as Sebastian pointed out, it wasn’t written to him. I’m glad in a way I didn’t understand what Ignacio said but I gather he has written Sebastian off? I think he said something about Sebastian’s “girlfriend” that pushed him into grabbing him in anger. I couldn’t tell what Sofia’ reaction was other than surprise.

Rene was really beat up! Too quick to anger and failure to devise a workable plan.

I agree with your wise reasoning. But after this afternoon's episode, poor Diego thinks the worst! And your example of your SIL's reason for annulment (my condolences) was fascinating. Of course it merits the annulment but I'd not heard of that reason before which is come to think of it, likely more common than one would think.

Mexicana. Wow! So Sabino has minions too. I almost felt sorry for Rene. He was so badly beaten up! And no way do I believe that Katya and Diego had sex, no matter how much champagne he consumed. The sooner that relationship ends the better. I think that Sebastian would be better off without both Nacho and his own parents. If they can't accept him for who he is, something that is his inherent nature, then he is better off without them.
