VENCER LA AUSENCIA #36 Part 1

Notes from the couch . . . Just the facts edition

Flashback: Margarita is trying to make Braulio tell Celeste "the truth" whatever that may be. He says that he needs time to find the right moment. Margarita reminds him that he has been telling her the same thing for YEARS. Braulio wonders what she would gain by hurting Celeste. Margarita thinks that sometimes the truth hurts more than one can imagine but it is better that being deceived. Braulio warns her that if she doesn't stop aggravating him and doesn't give him the time he needs, he is going to tell the WHOLE truth about her and if poor Rayo ends up getting hurt, they can say that knowing the truth is always better, right???


1. PRESENT BRAULIO is quick on his feet and tells CELESTE he never mentioned Margarita because, supposedly, he was trying to protect her because Margarita didn't have a very good reputation because she was after all of the guys. She also ended up being fired for taking money that wasn't her. He just tried to keep away from her. He worked in operations and she worked in the office as Homero's secretary so he didn't run into her much anyway. Celeste isn't buying it no matter what he says. When he finds out that Ester is the one who brought up that fact that Margarita worked at Funes, he tells Ester off at work. Ester says it was just a comment and that she didn't mean to cause a problem. He calls her a busybody and gossip.

2. CELESTE asks Ester to tell her everything she found about Margarita working at Funes. Rayo is eavesdropping. Later, Celeste tells Braulio that the date that Margarita left Funes coincided with when she got pregnant. Celeste adds that she believes that Braulio is Rayo's father and that is why he didn't want her around. Braulio cannot believe what she is accusing him.

3. MAX drags FLAVIA out of his office building. As she raves on and insists in wanting to know if Rayo is his with a DNA test. Max has been pushed over his limit and informs Flavia that , for her information, after Teo was born he had a vasectomy and he didn't tell her on purpose. Is she happy now???? That comment finally shuts her up.

4. SILVANO comes to see ANGEL one more time to try to give him a second chance. He is interested in buying the Funes company. Angel asks why he is obsessed with his company. Silvano insists it is only business. When Angel tells him he will NEVER be his partner or sell his company to him, Silvano tells him he better find a way to pay him back his money if he doesn't want to end up in jail.

5. ANA SOFí visits SILVANO at the office. She also doesn't understand why he is so insistent on taking the clearly inferior Funes company over. While she is there, Silvano gets phone call from somebody telling him that MISAEL has been found. Silvano tells them to get all of the info they can get out of that good for nothing. Ana Sofí asks if that Misael is the same one that Julia is married to. Santino has no idea. Misael is an employee they have in Tijuana. (Really??)

6. ANGEL tells BRAULIO that Santino threatened him. Braulio thinks it would have been a good idea to sell Santino a part of the company but he will back Angel no matter what he decides. Angel says the real question is WHY is Santino so interested in his company and vows to find out why. Also, will not marry Ana Sofí. He does not love her. Braulio says that he changed his feeling so quickly about Ana Sofí, he suspects there must be another woman he is in love with. Angel says nothing.

7. ANGEL tells HOMERO and MIRNA what is going on with Silvano. Angel is dedicated to saving the family bj=usiness It isa matter of pride. Mirna does not agrees. Angel says it doesn't matter if she doesn't want to help save the business but he does ask her not to say anything to Ana Sofí.


 

VENCER Part 2

8. ANGEL arrives at his apartment where a bonsai tree lies in a pile of broken pottery. He finds out soon enough that was done courtesy of Ana Sofí who is moving out. He denies having any relationship with Julia. He asks her why her father is so interested in taking over his company. She says to ask her father. He asks her if she got involved with him because of her father's interest in his company. Nope, she got involved with him because of love.

9. FLAVIA sits moaning and whining on the steps to the apartment complex. JERO sees her and offers to listen to her. She tells him the whole story about Max and Jero gives his point of view. She is so grateful and values his advice so much. She can trust him. He is the best partner she could ever have. (Her act is vomitable) Jero doesn't notice that she is making goo goo eyes at him. They go to the notary office and sign the documents making them partners. She is so pleased with the lovely friendship is starting between them. (Jero better think about he has heard about Flavia)

10. JULIA'S business is suffering a lot because of Ana Sofí's defamation attacks on her on her channel. Gina ends up taking Ana Sofí's side against her sister because she accuses her of getting involved with Ana Sofí's novio. Gina tells Rodolfo that Julia stole Ana Sofí's novio. Julia denies it and Rodolfo says he believes her. When they are alone, Rodolfo tells Julia that he suspects there is something going on between her and Angel. Julia says there is nothing although Angel did say he felt something for her. She feels nothing for Angel because of the situation with Misael. As Julia is talking about all of money she is losing Chepina reminds Julia of a brand that is looking for vendors (?) that she had showed her. Later, it seems that Julia has contacted that company online adonis pleased with what she found out. .

11. MIRNA is all for Mati being hired on a probationary basis. Luisa doesn't agree and is sure that Mati is not eighteen. Mati is all
excited about finding a place for Rayo in the house. Heck, if Rayo doesn't want to live there, maybe she will herself.

12. SERGIO is laying it on thick and MIRNA is enthralled. Homero is eager to meet him. Armando keeps trying to rekindle whatever he thinks they had.

13. ESTER asks JERO to retrieve a box of hers from LENAR'S house. When Jero talks glowingly about Ester, Lenar gets jealous. She "says" what bothers her is that he openly talks about his novia but was so critical when he found out about Donato. Jero agrees that he was wrong to judge him like he did. He is a good guy. He asks when they are getting married. She says they haven't chosen a date yet.

14. CELESTE is looking though some of Margarita's papers to find what Ester needs to get Rayo back in school. She finds Rayo's birth certificate. No father is listed. She tells Braulio that she is gong to bring them to Ester. He tells her she isn't. She says sh is going because SHE WANTS TO. She brings the papers to Ester. Julia is also there. Ester concludes that since Margarita never told them who Rayo's father was he must be somebody very close to them.
 

VENCER Part 3

15. FLAVIA (she of the loose screw) is into confronting Ester repeatedly in this episode. Ester hears the tap tap at her door and when she opens it is is Flavia who accuses her of telling Rayo that Max is her father. Ester has no idea of where Flavia got that from and closes the door in her face. Flavia knocks again. She tells Ester that before she and Max got a divorce, she and Max were involved. Ester closes the door a second time. Flavia knocks a third time. Ester tells her that if Max cheated on her, he will end up cheating on Flavia. Flavia insists that Max would never do that because she takes good care of her marriage. Ester laughs. Flavia knocks a fourth time to remind Ester that the apartment is not her house. She and Jero are renters. The lease was signed by Jero. She is sure that Ester is only living with him just so she doesn't have to leave the apartment.

16. JULIA explains to RAYO that she is going to start living with them and also at Ester's. There she will have her own room. Julia realizes that Rayo is stuck on finding out who her father is. She cannot help her with Max but she can buy a DNA test and by testing one of Danny's hairs, she can take Misael off of her list.

16. CLAUDIA tells ESTER that she is suspicious of the relationship that she and Jero supposedly have. Jero is clearly in love but she knows that Ester isn't. Is Flavia right in that she is just using Jero to stay in the apartment? Jero overhears the conversation and comes clean. He admits that he rented the apartment so Flavia wouldn't throw Ester out and because he needed a place to live. It was his idea to pretend being a couple. Claudia says they are both old enough to be responsible for their actions.

17. ESTER thanks JERO for his support and says he can ignore what her mother said about him being in love. Jero says her mother might be right. He is starting to feel MANY THINGS for Ester. (Uh oh)

CAMINO Ep. 23 Part 1

Ursula demands her payment for everything she has brought the man. He tells her that they need to wait, but when she insists and threatens to take the merchandise elsewhere, the man agrees to pay up.

Sebas finally admits that he is head over heels over Lupita...his philandering days are over! Gaby overhears when Sebas mentions that they had a bet that he could seduce Lupita. Gaby storms in and chides JuanPa for being part of the bet. She calls him a liar and can't believe he would keep quiet about something like that.


Amparo finds money and demands that Mac tell her where he got the money. Mac LIES big time and tells her he has been saving the money so he could pay her what he owed her...and to help with anything else that may come up. Amparo will keep the money and save it. She tells him that it's moments like these that remind her of why she married him!!

Gaby continues her rant asking for an explanation. When he admits that he did know, Gaby wonders if he is the just like Sebas. JuanPa swears that he loves her, but Gaby realizes that Sebas pretended to be JuanPa when they first started to chat. Sebas defends JuanPa and pleads with Gaby not to be angry with JuanPa. Gaby retreats into the restroom and cries wondering why all men are LIARS!

Mac explains to the inspector that Mac gave him his money, but his wife found it and he had to let her keep it so as not to reveal where he actually got it.

Ursula pays the doc for her fake pregnancy test results.

Memo cries as he remembers precious moments with Isa. He prays asking how he will be able to be close to his daughter. Meanwhile Dani cries as she prays and asks to be able to understand what is happening to her.

Memo tells Leo that Dani fired him. He never knew exactly when he fell in love with Dai...and now he is losing Isa...he will go crazy if he can't see her. Ursula comes in and asks why Memo is so upset. After Leo tells her that Dani fired Memo and leaves, Memo tells her that he found out he has a daughter...ISA. Ursula feigns surprise.

Dani tells Falso that she is crying because things just got overwhelming for her. Falso know she will be okay and he will be there for her....he doesn't want to lose her. He adds that she has nothing to be sorry for...it was his fault for not being around enough...and he promises to spend ore time with her and Isa. Dani silently thinks that Falso is fighting for their marriage while she is confused about Memo.

Memo explains who Isa's mother is and adds that she didn't tell him that she was pregnant...she gave Isa up for adoption.

Falso and Dani are with Isa. Dani is helping Isa with her school work, but Isa is tired and wants Chema to come play with her. When Falso recalls that Chema is Amparo's son, he connivingly agrees to let Chema come play with Isa.

Dani calls Amparo who agrees to allow Chema to go play with Isa.

Ursula asks Memo to forget all the things she accused him of when she thought he had something going on with Memo. Ursula pretends to be glad that Memo has a daughter and encourages him to tell Dani that Isa is his daughter.

Amparo and Chema arrive at Dani's house and Isa is so happy she does cartwheels. Falso approaches and when Dani offers Amparo something to drink, Falso suggests vodka or whiskey, but Amparo doesn't drink (alcoholic bevs).
 

CAMINO Ep 23 Part 2

Gaby tells Lupita about Sebas's bet and Lupita cries that Sebas broke her heart but she will pick up every piece. Lupita speaks up for JuanPa telling Gaby that JuanPa is a good guy and is sincere, but Gaby is set on not seeing JuanPa anymore.

Isa and Chema play and use the telescope Memo gave her. Meanwhile, two-faced Falso works on Amparo pretending to care about the closure of her restaurant. When Amparo asks for Memo, Dani tells her that Memo no longer works for her.

Mac the Rat looks for the money; and the girls surprise him asking if he lost something. Mac mumbles out lies. When Lupita doubts and questions his excuses, Gaby defends her father....and that is why she is daddy's favorite.

Cute little ghosts walk around the house and Falso pretends to be scared. After Amparo and Chema leave, Isa asks Dani when they will adopt her sibling.

Ursula pretends to be light headed and nauseous. (overkill on pregnancy symptoms, dontcha think?)

Amparo arrives and Memo tells her that Ursula already knows about Isa. Memo asks Amparo that when she takes Chema to play with Isa that she tell him everything about Isa.

Leo gives Chuchita flowers that he cut from Dani's garden. They go to Chuchita's roo, and watch... a telenovela!

Dani tells Falso that she let Memo go. Falso thinks it's best for everyone...and will get Dani a good assistant.

Dani finds Chuchita and Leo in bed...asleep and fully clothed!

Memo and Ursula are in bed. Ursula comments that "this" (non-functioning) had never happened to Memo before. Memo apologizes...he has too many things going through his mind. Ursula has also been thinking...that Memo should get a good lawyer and fight for custody of Isa so that they can raise her together!

Rgv Chick, thank you for your superb outlining of everything that transpired. You captured the essence of every word and action and enlightened us delightfully.

Thankfully, there was enough sweet to counteract the sour.

“Ursula pretends to be lightheaded and nauseous. (Overkill on pregnancy symptoms, dontcha think?)” Absolutely! Her audition continued from earlier pretending to be wide eyed sympathetic and empathetic about Isabella. All was nauseating (as in genuine nausea not her fake a**ed version) ☹

While Memo was honest in that he does indeed have much on his mind, that was only a partial truth. His inability to perform was not a surprise. You need only have looked at his face during his earlier scenes with Ursula. She was being so supportive but his face mirrored every emotion that flitted through his head including he no longer loves her.

“Conniving” is a perfect word for Macario. His smarmy charm would have worn off long ago for me, and Amparo’s continued belief of his lies is beyond me. At least Lupita is aware her father is not quite the honest charmer he pretends to be.

Lupita and Sebas can’t even seem to get out of the gate. If Sebastian would only take the vow of silence for a few days!

The best scenes were Isabella and Chema. Was Isa’s cartwheel and split planned? Dani squealing with delight seemed so genuine and sweet. I was smiling broadly myself. And the ghosts? The exaggerated and halting “ghostly noises” was so much fun.

I laughed out loud at “(Her act is vomitable)” and “FLAVIA (she of the loose screw)”. Perfect!

We are no closer to learning why Silvano is obsessed with owning Funes.

Speaking of obsessed…I have to think Flavia was telling Ester the truth that Max cheated with her. Cold. (I did like Ester’s retort that he would likely cheat on Flavia). Max, who seemed quite nice initially, is starting to lose some of his luster. Imagine getting a vasectomy and not telling your wife.

Doth Braulio protest too much?? It seems likely Rayo’s father worked at Funes. If it isn’t Braulio, the only possible suspect (we know of) could be Homero. Or I could be completely out of my mind so 😊

“Armando keeps trying to rekindle whatever he thinks they had” was also great. As Carlos used to say “Next!”

Claudia commented Jero loves Ester. I’m not seeing it. Perhaps I need to polish my crystal ball a bit.

I believe the MVP tonight was Comedy. Mac
the Rat getting busted, lying pathologically, screaming into a pillow (twice), and getting the business from the inspector was priceless.

Falso también had many a funny moment. Offering a mother (and chauffeur) very stiff drinks for a play date was wildly inappropriate, unexpected, criminally masterful (for business negotiations), and completely over the top. His feigning freight at the two ghosts was adorable, but before you can say, “Awwww!” he is THIS close to making the kids cry with spooky tales of head lice!!! Who does that?!?

These two characters win no patio popularity polls, but even at their most dastardly, they are fun to watch. Karen is a joyless witch with nary a redeeming quality. Mac & Falso maintain the ability to make me wince and laugh usually within the same scene(s).

I lost count of how many B.P. Looks (©️Darcy) Úrsula deserved after her mega-disgusting performances tonight.

I cant help but love Chuchita and Leo, theyre my favorite next to Dani and Memo. I really like how Leo is respectful of Chuchita, doesnt cross her boundaries and is happy just to watch her novela with her. I really thought Dani overreacted about them sleeping together though. I understand its her house and Chuchita is her employee..but nothing happened. Is Chuchita supposed to stay single and married to the house?? She's young and a good girl, she deserves a little novela of her own.
I also dont like how Dani and Memo are still holding on to their dead relationships. I get that theyre trying to forget each other etc etc but at least in the case of Memo.. there is nothing holding him to Ursula. He could easily end it all. Theyre not married yet, they dont have kids.. and he doesnt have feelings. WHY go through with a wedding and babies when youre already not into it???? This is very bothersome. Hopefully we dont get a wedding.
Dani I get.. she has a child and she's been married for many years. Though for her as well, a divorce isnt something out of reach. Shes been unhappy for the longest of times.
Gaby gets on my nerves. All men are liars.. except for daddy dearest! pfft

Oh btw I really love the entrada song. I have not really listened to this type of music before but it fits the story well and for some odd reason I cant help but sing along everytime the chorus hits as Dani and Memo think of each other. For me the song is another win on this novela.

So ironic he finally comes clean just in time to get caught and mess up everything for everyone! But now we have an open honest even slate to build something on, I can't wait to see the guys try to win the girls back now!

Falso almost seemed like a normal human being last night, it was very offputting, lol. I agree with you O.S. that at least Mac and Falso are entertaining where others are not. It is nice to see Mac at his wit's end instead of just winning all the time! (well except when he gambles) I hope he doesn't find the money!! I thought it was funny to see Lupita go off on dad, and he deserved it!

Gina must be either star struck or not to bright. Definitely not loyal. How can she believe AnaSophia over her own sister. When she was messing on her phone while AnaSofia was talking to her I was sure she was going to quit or tell her off. But no, she remained loyal to her boss. Is she even getting payed yet? I think she was hired on a trial basis with no pay until AnaSofia decided on her.

Even AnaSofia wonders why her dad wants the company. Maybe she’ll end up helping solve that mystery. I’m not sure what Sanfino’s business is but I feel he wants the business to use the trucks to transport something illegal, probably drugs.

Diana, I have been thinking Homero might be her father. Sixteen years ago he was probably a handsome, charming older man. And maybe a widower. Maybe Braulio found out and hustled Margarita out of the company and Homero never found out. If this is true, Homero might see Rayo with Mati and recognize her. I figure Mati will get the job just to bring Angel’s family closer to the “action”. I’m not sure how long Braulio and Celeste have been married. But I feel if it was his child he would have wanted to do something. Just because he’s so possessive of Celeste.

I had to laugh at Flavia continuously knocking on Ester’s door. Then saying she takes good care of her marriage. That was laughable, Max has moved out! And her scene at his office will probably keep him out! It was really low of her to reveal she’d been having an affair while Max was still married to Ester. But maybe Ester knew that already.

Julia and Angel are both such good people. I love that she’s going to help Rayo find out if Misael is her dad.

The best in this episode was the kids playing together. Seeing them enjoy themselves put a smile on my face

The worse was Ursula, from getting her money to talk of adoption. She seemed almost criminal when getting her money, then paying the doctor. Seems like there’s lots of crooked telenovela doctors! But the fake surprise at hearing about Isa was the most sickening. And why would she decide they should uproot Isa. I can’t imagine any court deciding she’d be a better mother than Dani. I’m not sure what her motive was in suggesting it. I thought her plan was to give Memo kids so he ‘d forget about Isa.

So glad Amparo found the money, but hate that she believed his lies. I hope she hid it well!

Looking forward to the guys trying to win back the sisters!

If Max is telling the truth about the vasectomy, we can take him off the daddy suspect list . However, he could have lied just to shut up the increasing!y annoying Flavia , who seems to have now set her cap for Jer since she believes he likes Ester and Flavia always wants whatever Ester has. This is a tale as old as time.

I am amazed that Celeste keeps standing up to her domineering husband. The writers are making it appear that Braulio is the mostly likely man to be Rayo's dad. ...but is he ?

Mati as Homero's caregiver is ridiculous , but Mirna just doesn't care who his caregiver is as long as it isn't her . Love!y person .

Gina seems to be following the mean girls, but I think she will redeem herself.

Thank you, everyone, for for the wise and witty comments...and for your very kind and generous thank yous. I really wanted to elaborate on some of the scenes, but I didn't want to stay up later than usual and I knew someone would provide more detail.

I'm going to have to get some of those disposable barf bags and have them at arms reach! EWWWWW!

Para/Lurker from the other side of the world, welcome once again! "I get that theyre trying to forget each other etc etc but at least in the case of Memo.. there is nothing holding him to Ursula." It's that old-fashioned, honorable thing to do when a promise is made...you go through with it. Memo has said more than once that he is a man of his word, so he will probably marry Ursula; and oh my, when Ursula tells him about the (fake) pregnancy, it's a done deal! I think the only thing that will keep him from marrying her is if Dani gives him a sliver of hope or if he finds out Ursula is a thief and a liar.

Darcy regarding the young guys n gals, "So ironic he finally comes clean just in time to get caught and mess up everything for everyone! I actually think Lupita will be easier to win over than Gaby, but then Gaby is so volatile (or shall we call that passionate? LOL) that anything can happen.

What Flavia was up to in this story qualifies as harassment in the US. She deserves a spanking on her bare tuchas in front of the whole neighborhood for this. So does Ana Sofie for defaming Julia the way she did. How does anyone with as little class as she has have followers?

If Braulio is the sperm donor of Rayo -- it sure looks that way -- he clearly doesn't care. AA has portrayed some seriously cold customers in the past so this isn't surprising me at all. And if Braulio isn't the guilty party who would now owe 15 years' worth of child support he knows who is. He has some bloody nerve accusing Ester of being a buttinsky because she is only doing this out of concern for Rayo.

Silvano needs to realize that his daughter is a spoiled brat who will always be financially dependent on him. I hope we see the day when he understands that Angel had more than adequate reason to have fallen out of love with her, Julia notwithstanding.

Claudia realizes that Ester and Jeronimo are "old enough to be responsible for their actions"? Good, so she should pack her stuff and go home!

Memo is a bit too rigid about his 'keeping my word' thing. I get it but at the same time, does his faithfulness matter more than his happiness? Its a novela but still, this logic irks me.

I also really hope that Amparo leaves Macario by the end of the novela and they dont try to redeem him. He is such a scumbag.

Fausto is the worst hypocrite of all time. I would be shocked if Amparo takes 10 episodes to figure that out, but then again, she is still taken in by Macario who does not deserve her.

I can't believe that any doctor would compromise his career to provide false test results no matter the dinero.

My guess is that Ursula will trick Guillermo into marriage with the fake test results but that Cesar will show up at the wedding with proof that he and Ursula are still married.

Does anyone else get vertigo at the closing shot of the opening credits?

Diana, Liz, I agree with both of you that Homero could easily be Rayo’s father. All of the facts fit that possibility so far.

Diana, after hearing about the secret vasectomy, it seems that things weren’t even good between Max and Flavia 15 years ago! What would anyone find attractive in her??

Liz, I could not believe that Gina would believe Ana Sofí over her own sister. Idol worship? But probably she is not too smart as you noted.

Susanlynn, “Mirna just doesn’t care who his caregiver is as long as it isn’t her.” THAT says it all. It sure seems like her anvil might come early in the form of Sergio. I can dream right?

Urban, Claudia has overstayed her welcome be WAAAY too long with her “excuse” of having a doctor appointment that never seems to happen. She, like several of the characters, needs to get a life

I can't decide who's worse, Mirna or Gina. Both side with Ana Sofia against their siblings. Angel is a hardworking, responsible brother. If he no longer wants Ana Sofia, that's his business. Julia is a hardworking, responsible sister, who even got her doofus sister a job with Ariel. So glad I don't know any sisters like this.

Seems like Rayo will lose in the dad department no matter who matches her DNA. None of these guys is a prize.

O.S., ITA about Falso and Macario last night.

I'm guessing Dani will be less shocked about catching Chuchita and Leo fully clothed tonight. At least, I hope so.

I'm enjoying Ursula, I'm still trying to check out all her tatoos. I think one on an upper arm is Rosie the Riveter. I'm surprised she suggested they fight for custody of Isa, but then this surely would break up Dani and Memo. Ursula is right about one thing, Memo needs to get a lawyer to establish his father rights.

Gaby is going to have a big fall when her Mac's lies are revealed.

Ursula may have a problem with the pregnancy tale. If Memo continues to have performance problem, Ursula will never get pregnant from Memo. I think Memo will be dumb enough to carry her once she tells him about her "pregnancy" but she may have to invoke a miscarriage to cover the fake pregnancy. And, as Urban has pointed out, Caesar will try to sabotage the' pregnancy story' and prevent the bigamous marriage. Unsure how the writers will solve this problem.
 

VENCER LA AUSENCIA #36 Part 1

Notes from the couch . . . the never ending recap edition . . .

FLASHBACK: It show how out of tune Ester and Max were. He was ready to romantically celebrate their anniversary and she had forgotten all about it. In the next scene, Max is trying to be romantic while ester is cleaning and she rejects him again.

Ester is the narrator:

"Being a couple involves both people so if their interests do not coincide with the investment of time or effort, one of them ends up doing it all. "

In the last scene, Ester is all dressed up ready to go out. Julia is coming to look after Iván. Max has forgotten all about it and wants to stay at home. Ester is in no mood for that. She goes out by herself.

"And that is how the beginning of the end starts."

PRESENT

ESTER

Jero tells Ester how he is beginning to feel things for her. She apologizes but she is not ready nor has she the time to think about love dealing with the death of her son. He tells her to forget it so their friendship is not affected. She says all is forgotten and she NEVER wants to talk about that topic again. He says no worries. It won't happen again. Claudia overhears the conversation and shakes her head in disappointment.

Max wants to talk to Ester. She guesses it is because Flavia thought he was Rayo's father. He is surprised she knew. Ester says Flavia never misses a chance to tell her something to bother her. She also told her that he and she were in a relationship while they were still married. Max will not deny that. It's true. Their relationship was in a bad place. Ester tells him that NOTHING ever could justify not being faithful. Max plays the martyr. She didn't take care of him. He felt so very alone with her. They end up talking about how they both miss their son. Ester says the difference is while she was dedicated to her son, he felt alone and went looking for love somewhere else.

Braulio asks Ester why she ever put that stupid idea in Celeste's head that he was Rayo's father. She says that he only thing she told her was that Margarita worked at Funes years ago. Braulio says Margarita worked at the same job that Ester has now. She worked for Homero. That is where he met her but he never went out with her. Why would he tie himself to the terrible reputation that she had? Ester tells him not to talk about Margarita like that. He insists that is how Margarita was. If she and Julia think that they are going to end his marriage, they have another thing coming. He warns her to watch out.
 

VENCER Part 2

CELESTE

Celeste tells Braulio that she thinks that the reason that Margarita never told them the identity of Rayo's father is because he has to be somebody close to them. Come to think of it, Margarita and he always AVOIDED each other. Braulio is angry and doesn't know where she has gotten these ideas from. Celeste says she can come to her own conclusions and doesn't need anyone to tell her what she can or cannot think. She demands that she tells her the truth. Braulio asks Celeste to tell him what she wants to hear because evidently what he is saying isn't doing it. He swears on the life of their child that he is not Rayo's father. What can he do to prove it to her? He agrees to a DNA test but not without trying to make Celeste feel guilty that she does not trust him to tell her the truth.

Celeste texts Ester and Julia that she has something to tell them.

Braulio decides that he is not going to be staying at the apartment with Celeste. He is basically insulted that he has to take a paternity test because she doesn't trust him. She asks what problem he has if he isn't the father. He will do it but only because she is asking him to.

Celeste meets with Julia and Ester at her place. Julia is shocked that Rayo would think that Braulio could be her father. Ester is still outraged that Margarita could keep the name of Rayo's father from them. Celeste is almost sure that Braulio is Rayo's father. That is why he wanted to keep her away from him. He didn't want to take a DNA test and felt so indignant he didn't want to stay there. Julia thinks that Misael is Rayo's father.It wouldn't be strange because he was such ladies' man. Ester finds it odd that Margarita would have a relationship with either Misael or Brauliio. Julia affirms that Braulio and Margarita hated each other. As for Braulio, Julia finds it hard to believe that Braulio would have anything to do with Margarita who she knew since prep school.

Celeste has missed her friends. It has been hard times for her, too. She is finally going to have a baby. Braulio split her and Rayo up. Then there is Margarita and her lies. She also has MS.


RAYO

Julia tells Rayo that she is going to do the Misael paternity test not only because she owes her mother but she is especially going to do it for her. Rayo is grateful.

Rayo gets a message from Mati. She wants to see her before she goes to he appointment at Homero's house.

Ester meets with Julia and Rayo. They might be able to get her a scholarship to a private school. Ester says she just has to take some tests. Rayo isn't confident since she has't studied in so long. Julia and Ester try to encourage her.

Mati tells Rayo that she got the job on probation at the old man's house due to her acting skills playing the good girl. She got that huge house for both of them even though Rayo will be hidden. Rayo tells her how her life has turned around. She is going to have her own room and is going back to high school. Mati is not impressed. The guys understand what Mati is getting at. She will be like a ghost, a parasite. That is what she wants: to live in a nice place for free and never have to pay. Of course, they do not know that Flavia is eavesdropping on them.
 

VENCER Part 3

Braulio confronts Rayo about conspiring against him saying that he is her father. She denies it. He says they don't look like each other at all. He is nothing like her nor would he be with somebody like Margarita. Rayo asks what he means by that. Brulio says she is old enough to know the truth. Her mother was a one of the worst women ever and was worth nothing. She would go off with any guy who talked to her. Rayo defends her mother. He insists he is only telling the truth. He knew her years ago and that was the kind of woman she was. She can ask the men who knew her and they will tell her the same thing. He almost calls her mother a whore (puta) (his lips are ready to pronounce a P) but stops himself. He remarks how shameful it must be being Margarita's daughter. He makes fun out of her being upset. He tells her that she is going to be a slut just like her mother. She has no future or possibilities of being anything else. She is only an orphan that people pity. Nobody cares about her. They SAY "Poor Rayito" but when push comes to shove, she means NOTHING to them. Rayo is shaking and in tears. He continues telling her she is going to come to a bad end if not in an orphanage , in a reformatory. The police are coming to arrest those who vandalized Flavia's truck and she certainly was involved. She says she wasn't involved. He tells her that her friends will get off but she wont't because who will defend an orphan?? Rayo wonders why he is so mean to her. He says that hasn't been mean. He thinks he is doing her a favor so she knows the truth and can accept that nobody is going to do anything for her. He emphasizes that neither Ester, nor Julia nor Celeste care anything about her. They only feel sorry for her right now but when that passes, they will not be worried about her at all. She is alone and will be alone her whole life. Braulio (the bastard) turns and leaves a devastated Rayo.

Mati is at Homero's house where Luisa is telling her all about her duties. Mati is taking notes. Luisa doesn't seem to have much confidence in her. Mirna comes in and is not really interested in finding out about Mati. She lets her know to call her "señorita" and not "señora." Luisa explains who Armando is and how he is there part time to care for Homero. Mati asks who takes care of Homero when Armando is not here. Luisa says it is her. Even though it is technically not a part of her job, everyone in the house helps out Homero. Angel usually doesn't help out because he doesn't spend much time in the house. Luisa says they are a good family and treat the help well. If they are so good, Mina asks why Luisa is leaving. She says she has to go home to her town. Mati asks what is behind the closed doors she sees.. Luisa says not to think of going in there. They keep the belongings of the late lady of the house in there.
 

VENCER Part 4

Rayo tells Mati about the horrible things that Braulio said to her. Mati says they are going to teach him a lesson. She wants to go vandalize his car. Rayo tells her no, that won't fix things at all. Mati reminds her that he treated her worse than a dog in the street. Mati says for her to trust her. Tomorrow she will be the maid at the house and she will get things ready for her. Rayo is not sure. Mati tells her to not be so fearful and to think about living there.

Jero lets Rayo wait for Ester at the apartment. Claudia discovers her waiting. Claudia says she understands that she will be staying in Iván's room. Claudia thinks that might not be a good idea. Claudia says it has nothing to do with her; it is just that Ester is obsessed with her son's death. Rayo goes to see Iván's room while Claudia makes her a sandwich. Rayo sees Ester's bulletin board where one of the questions posted is if Iván and Margarita had a love relationship.; while another is about Margarita's past. She sees others about the accident and the possibility of a robbery. Rayo sees more than she should. Claudia says she never should have seen it at all. Ester created it. That is what Claudia meant about Ester being "obsessed." Clearly, Rayo would do better staying at Julia's than there. Rayo leaves in hurry. Mati calls. Rayo cannot wait to tell he hat she discovered. Mati alerts her that the police are looking for them for having vandalized Flavia's truck. They picked up the two guys. Then they let one go because his father is a policeman. They better hide or they will end up in jail. Rayo says she didn't do anything. Mati says that doesn't matter to the police. They will pick her up anyway. The patrol left but she is sure they will be back for them. They need to hide. Mati hope that Rayo is not afraid of mice. Tonight they will stay under a bridge and tomorrow they will start a new life in a new house.

JULIA

Rodolfo is surprised that Julia is taking the possibility that Misael could be Rayo's father so calmly. Julia explains that she doses't feel anything for him anymore but if he ends up being Rayo's father she would feel betrayed by Margarita.

Julia is starting her new business with catalogue sales. Chepina offers to help out. Gina makes it clear that she doesn't want to be involved. Rayo would like to help. Julia says better to get her settled back into school. She will be going to stay with Ester in a few days.

Danny tells his mother to remind Angel about the school festival because if Angel doesn't show up, he isn't going either.

Rodolfo takes Danny to school and somebody is watching them from across the street.

Ester wants Julia and her to both go and talk to the police about where Misael could be. Julia tells her that she thinks that Misael is on Padre Island, Texas. They call the police in Matehuala and Julia tells the detective about the communications with sin fiitros. She knew that Misael always wanted to go to Padre Island. The detective says he will investigate but he is not promising anything which angers Ester. Ester tells Julia that her mother is gong home tomorrow so Rayo should be able to come live with her soon.

Rodolfo tells Julia that he does not like Danny being so obsessed with somebody who is not part of the family. Julia explains that Danny needs a father figure like Angel. Rodolfo says that is what he is there for.

Julia calls Angel to remind him of Danny's festival. He would not forget because it is so important to Danny.
 

VENCER Part 5

JERO

JERO is on the couch when Claudia comes rumbling through to get a glass of water. He was not sleeping but thinking about his conversation with Ester. Claudia is sure that he is awake due to what her daughter said about not being up for falling in love. He asks if Ester told her. Nope She could not avoid hearing the whole thing with the apartment being so small and her worrying about her daughter. She knows that Ester isn't ready right now for a relationship and she is like she is but she is a good woman. Ester deserves to be loved. Jero knows all that and that is how he knows what he is feeling for her is real.

The next morning Jero apologizes for his "confession" the night before. They have a good laugh as she feigns to now know what he is talking about. Being a priest?? He is going to see Flavia now that their association papers have been signed to make some decisions about how to operate the food truck. She reminds him that she doesn't trust Flavia so he needs to be careful.

Jero and Flavia start debating a name for the business . She likes "Las delicias de Flavia" "Flavia's delights" or "FyJ" Their initials!! He is thinking of something less personal like "Sabores mexicanos" "Mexican Flavors" or "Sabores de mi tierra" "Flavors From My Land". She thinks it is better not to rush into that but rather dedicate their time to creating a menu. He is going to make a list of things that can easily be prepared in a food truck. She wishes she had Margaritas recipe book, too. With his recipes and Margarita's they would be a success! Flavia has another suggestion "Nuestra sazón" "Our Flavor". Jero seems to like that.



FLAVIA

At breakfast, Teo tells his mother that at school they were talking about sexuality, family planning, and the responsibility of having a child. Flavia tells him that he knows that his father refused to give him a little brother. Teo says he had a brother Iván even though she never liked them to spend time together. Flavia says the reason was that he had the same bad habits as his mother and she didn't want him to be influenced by them. Teo doesn't agree and thinks that she was the selfish one. Flavia gets a phone call and tells the party that is the best news she has had in a long time!

Braulio sees Flavia watching Rayo and Mati and the group. She calls them dangerous. She should find out in a few days who trashed her truck. She still thinks it was them. He says to let the police do their job. Well, Flavia knows that one of their fathers is a policeman so she is worried that he might want to protect his kid.

ANGEL

Angel checks with Mirna about a replacement for Sofía. She says she has a candidate for the job who will be working on probation. Angel wants her to make sure she is a good person and that their father is not ignored because she is out. They argue about who should be looking after their father one more time. Homero is tired of them arguing about taking care of him everyday.

Angel asks Homero why Silvano would have so much interest in their company. Silvano says years ago he wanted to become a partner but Homero never really took his proposal seriously. He never told Angel because he didn't think it was important. Angel asks if it was Silvano or somebody close to him that suggested using Zac as a lender. Homero doesn't remember.
 

VENCER Part 6

TEO

Teo tells his father that he doesn't have to pick him up. He can go to school on his own. His father knows that but he likes to take him. Rayo's paternity comes up. Teo wants to know why Max didn't tell anyone about his vasectomy. Max says because it is something personal and he and his mother had decided not to have any more children. He did it for his mother because birth control pills can have some side effects when they are used for a long time. That is news to Teo. Max didn't tell her because they would have gotten into a fight because of how she is. Teo says he knows how she is but he also knows how he is.

MIRNA

Mirna is still going hot and heavy with Sergio. They are at a restaurant.,He tells her he has to go on a work trip for a few days to Monterrey. They can talk on the phone everyday!!! They will miss each other!!! They kiss as Armando spies on them. Armando asks her if she wants to be his novia. She says yes. They kiss. He goes to leave and Armando confronts her. She explains they never had anything. Sergio returns ready to take on Armando. A fist fight erupts. Mirna screams for help.

BRAULIO

Braulio is walking all by himself down the street only to discover that his car has been vandalized. All he can mutter is "Damn it!"

"Although there are things that we think only happen between two people, when thing go bad there are others who pay the consequences."

Camino #24 Part 1

Ursula urges Memo (in a vulnerable position) that he needs to obtain a lawyer so he can get Isabella back. She is a Santos she hisses, trying to make her point. She strokes his face, her fingers painted (unattractively) with different colored polish but he certainly does not seem convinced.

Dani discovered Chuchita and Leo in her room. Although both were completely dressed, Daniela wants Leo gone. Like last night. Chuchita’s curiosity gets the better of her and she asks Dani if she fired Memo and if so, why. Dani deflects demurring she doesn’t need to give her any explanation. Dani runs into Fausto in the hall, and he feigns delight in seeing her. He kisses her as her face looks passive and unmoved.

Gaby walks into work and is greeted by a parcel of “Perdoname” red balloons which JuanPa parts as he appears. Although she smiles, Gaby tells him she still feels that she was part of the bet as well. JuanPa fiercely denies this, but Gaby is relentless! She continues to accuse him and finally, JuanPa has had enough. He tells her he is very disappointed, and she is being unfair. She thinks only of herself! In what seems to be the closest this calm and controlled young man has come to being angry, JuanPa declares they will never make it together! He gathers the balloons and takes his leave, much to Gaby’s consternation.

Amparo urges Chema to drink his milk as his papa arrives, wearing a heavy insulated vest with no shirt. Chema asks to see Isabella, but Amparo tells him that he needs to wait to be invited. Macario asks for a favor…he needs (shocker) a bit of money. He suggests that he can win more money, but Amparo wants to recoup the restaurant by honest means. Amparo blesses Chema as he and Macario banter a bit. Macario puts bananas in Chema’s backpack and carries him out sideways as Amparo and Chema laugh as do I, wondering if that was improvised.

Memo refuses to talk to a lawyer…it would hurt Isa and he won’t take Isa from her parents using underhanded methods. Ursula tries unsuccessfully to convince him…Isa is his son, and she would be a good mother to Isa. She warns Memo that if he tells Dani and Fausto on his own, they will probably do all they can to keep Isa.

Karen rears her ugly head, now visiting with Dani. Chuchita leads Fausto’s hand selected replacement for Memo toward them. Chuchita comments that they replaced a high-quality filet with a sour one. Karen gives the stink eye and I for one cannot blame her! The new hire is squinty eyed and chomping on a toothpick, clearly lacking manners, personality, and charisma. Isa is upset (mirroring the patio’s thoughts) and asks about Memo. She doesn’t want Memo to leave…he is her friend! She cries that she so doesn’t want anyone else…Memo always plays with her and saved her life. Memo always takes care of them, and Dani always laughs when she is with him.

Camino #24 Part 2

Gaby cries to Lupita that she and JuanPa are over. Lupita kindly urges her sister not to let JuanPa go. If she does, she will regret it!

Back to the Memo/Ursula merry-go-round where Memo is apologizing. He doesn’t like it when they fight. Ursula gives another side show performance of feeling sick. She puts her head on his knee and evil smiles.

Sebastian comes up to the desk and hands Gaby a blue envelope, explaining it is from JuanPa. After seeing the envelope, viewerville is expecting a lovely card and a Hallmark moment. To our surprise, we see a rather inelegant handwritten note. Hmmm. We get a close up of Gaby (sporting heavy yellow and purple eye liner) as she reads it. JuanPa apologizes and wants them to get back together.

Fausto calls Gaby in, telling her to shut the door. Did she talk to her mother? Yes, but she didn’t get anywhere as her mother doesn’t listen to her. Fausto urges her to talk to her again. He calls her stupid as soon as she leaves the room.

Outside the restaurant, Macario is accosted by the inspector. The inspector gets handsy and grabs him. Macario tells him to calm down but to no avail. At that moment, Humberto leaves the restaurant and sees them. He listens, hidden. As words fly between the inspector and Macario, it is obvious that the inspector aided and abetted Macario to close the restaurant.

Karen is still spewing her craziness and while Dani feels badly about Isa, she refuses to ask Memo to return.

Juanpa is at diving practice when Gaby arrives. JuanPa is surprised but happy to see her. Gaby forgives him and doesn’t want any more secrets between them. They kiss as catcalls commence.

Macario is performing another fruitless treasure hunt, searching the couches and cushions when Humberto bursts into the room. He confronts him as Lupita hides around the corner. He heard everything – the money and the fact the inspector helped him close the restaurant. How could he hurt his family and put them in such a bad situation?

Camino #24 Part 3

Memo reluctantly meets with Karen. At first, he stands not even wanting to sit with her (can you blame him??) What does she want? She tells him to sit. She offers to help Memo so that he can return to work with Dani. She plays on his emotions by telling him how Isa cried when she found out he wouldn’t be returning. Memo, rightfully suspicious, asks why she is helping him. She lies that she is doing it for her goddaughter. She swears this has nothing to do with Fausto, she just wants Isa to smile again. I can’t even…Memo doubts Dani will hire him back, but Karen tells him to trust her. Viewerville sighs collectively.

JuanPa and Gaby are still kissing when the coach tells him to get back to work. When she mentions the letter, JuanPa asks “what letter?” She gives JuanPa the note and to Gaby’s surprise tells her he didn’t write it. In unison they both yell “Sebastian.” As we suspected, it has Sebastian’s name all over it, well in a manner of speaking 😊

Humberto is still upbraiding Macario as Lupita listens, beside herself, seeming to hyperventilate. Macario asks for a chance to explain.

Memo shares what Karen told him and her offer to help him but Ursula thinks there’s a cat in the bag. Ursula gets jealous but Memo tells her he will do whatever he can to be close to his daughter and asks that she support him. She agrees but it bothers her because she insists Dani likes him.

Gaby comes home and Amparo questions her. She assures her all is OK.

Macario and Humberto are still “talking”, Macario trying to convince Humberto that everything he is doing, he is doing for the family. What about the happiness of my daughter and her children Humberto yells? Humberto goes to hit him and grabs his arm in pain but pushes Macario away. Gaby overhears that Macario is responsible for the closing of the restaurant. She appears, distraught, saying this is their home! Macario cries super ugly (credit Rgv Chick) and begs Gaby’s forgiveness, kneeling in front of her crying crocodile tears, entwining her fingers in his, hugging her. They don’t deserve a father like him! He should leave and go far away (go, go we urge). He continues to plead for another chance and promises to get the restaurant open again.

Camino #24 Part 4 (Last)

Isa doesn’t want to eat as she tearfully talks about Memo. Dani strokes her hair and kisses her princessa but there is no smile or return kiss. Even Chuchita can’t cheer her up. She wants Memo and is refusing to eat until Memo returns.

Humberto is sorry that Gaby overheard what Macario did. He fears telling Amparo but thinks sooner or later she will find out. He knows Amparo loves Macario and has hope that Macario will change (that makes one of us). Gaby tries to convince Humberto to forgive Mac. She tells him how she forgave JuanPa and how she realized that Sebastian is really a good guy…everyone messes up and deserves a second chance. If her mother finds out, they will get into a big fight. Humberto agrees to give Macario another chance. It will be our secret they promise as they pinky swear.

Dani doesn’t think all the plants will fit in the truck. Her new assistant is convinced they will. As she sees who she is now tasked with working with, she fantasizes about Memo and his big red truck.

Poor Lupita, who has now seen and heard all is alone in her grief. She is with Amparo when Macario comes in and asks for coffee. She tells him off and kicks a bucket as Amparo tells her to respect her father! Hmmm, I see no respect in Lupita’s eyes as she stomps away.

Isa talks about Memo to Chuchita. Chuchita provides her phone so she can call him. She smiles brightly as she asks him to return! Memo’s eyes are similarly lit as he smiles and says “Isabella” delightedly!

Rgv Chick graciously helped me with the fast and furious dialog. I am especially appreciative of her kindness, as I know this is an especially busy week for her.

As soon as I saw the pretty blue envelope and saw a scrawled handwritten note instead of a beautiful Hallmark card, I knew Sebas had written it. Too funny!

Looking forward to Memo returning!

I missed the Mac carrying Chema out sideways, I must have been distracted.

I'm surprised Gaby did a full 180 on JuanPa AND Sebas overnight!! I mean I'm glad she forgave JuanPa but it feels a little odd to have her be mad for 1 whole day and then go the other way. They might as well have made her skipped the anger arch altogether. Or at least had her forgive one and not the other so quickly. Oh well... I am bummed that she's angling for don't tell mom and that Humberto would agree!!! NO, NO, NO, NO, NO!!! Dani is miserable, Isa is miserable, Memo is miserable, Ursa is going to make Memo more miserable, what a mess we have! And ironically, Falso takes a likable turn right as the rest get the humdrums. I mean I know he's acting, and underneath he's the same repulsive person he's always been but all we see on the screen the last few days is charm and laughter - well at home at least, not with Gaby! With her he was manipulative and cruel, Jerk!

I dont like Gaby, she is too much of a daddys girl to see how Macario really is. Tbh I dont like anyone who likes Macario and forgives him. So Amparo.. youre going out of my liked characters list! She needs to get a backbone and leave his miserable ass. And Humberto is acting righteous and trying to 'save' the family when there is no more saving! I dont get constantly forgiving someone who shows that they cannot change and will not change.
Lets just say I have had issues with my own father and actually letting go of him was the best thing I ever did. He never changed his ways, instead he passed away because of them.
Anywho I like that Karen is trying to get Memo back in the house. Shes despicable but at least shes helping us by brining Dani and Memo closer together. One point for team Karen.

Karen has finally done something rather than brooding. For once!!

He helped no one by lying. I'm with Darcy in hoping that Lupita spills the tea. I appreciate you shared a personal story. There have been many characters and situations we identify with and have shared our thoughts and experiences. We are a suppotive, caring community where one always has a safe place to land.

Jarifa, this was a masterful short story in and of itself. It was enthralling, all encompassing and beautifully written. You have always set the bar so high, but this was truly one of your best.

I don’t know where to begin, there is so much to absorb, to ponder and to wonder.

"And that is how the beginning of the end starts." Jarifa, I thought the opening scenes and the way they were filmed was a highlight of the series thus far. Ester and Max were out of sync, out of tune and out of love. It seemed so raw and so real.

“She says all is forgotten and she NEVER wants to talk about that topic again”. Had we not seen the opening montage, I would say Ester overall has become a joyless person. But she was not happy way back when either was she? She lit up a room when she was with Ivan or when she remembers him now (especially with Adair) . Now, she just has a harder shell, understandable because of Ivan.

Perhaps it was a blessing I didn’t understand what Braulio was saying to Rayo. The demeaning tone, his cruel icy stare was evident and made me cringe in and of themselves. “He almost calls her mother a whore (puta) (his lips are ready to pronounce a P) but stops himself” was vicious but “She is alone and will be alone her whole life. Braulio (the bastard) turns and leaves a devastated Rayo” was beyond understanding. And yet Rayo sustains another cruel blow.

Whatever is Mati thinking of? Rayo has never been more vulnerable and needs someone to step up and let her know she is loved and cherished. Exactly why is she leaving Julia’s for joyless Ester’s? She is not an object to be moved among friends, she is a living breathing child that needs stability. And love.

“Julia explains that she doesn't feel anything for him anymore but if he ends up being Rayo's father she would feel betrayed by Margarita”. So Misael is off the hook but not her poor DEAD friend who has been damned relentlessly by everyone??

“Teo says he knows how she is but he also knows how he is”. Smart kid. We, and Rayo need much more of Teo.

Jarifa, a million thanks for this fantastic, detailed account of last nights episode . It was like reading a good novel ( which I am .but it is about Nova Scotia and England after WWI). I saw each scene okay out completely and in full color in my mind .

Braulio is a vicious, unfeeling brut. The things he said to Rayo were horribly hurtful and damaging . There has to be a reason fur his outright hate for an innocent , vulnerable young girl . Did Margarita reject him ? Is he Rayo's father , or is be angry that he isn't ? I hope this brute has a huge anvil .

Flavia is now trying to draw Jer into her web as Max and Teo break free of it .

Seems this show is giving a lot of PSAs about birth control pills, vasectomies, and DNA testing .

Dear Diana and Chickie, thank you for every detail of tbe good, the bad, and the ugly . I saw everything play out in my imagination , including irksome Ursula's colorful talons . The contrast between her look and vibe and Dani's classic style is obvious.

Well, at least Humberto and the girls did some eavesdropping and know what Mac , the smarmy charmer , is up to.

It seems the writers want to give tbe viewers lots of scenes of Juanpa at the pool.

I was shocked at what Braulio was saying to Rayo. I can’t imagine why he would be that cruel to her. Does he consider her a threat? He’s removed Celeste’s brother and her friends from her life. I wonder if he’s jealous of her feelings for Rayo. But that was beyond redemption. I hope he suffers in the end! And then telling her she will be arrested. There will be nothing for her to do but fall in with Mati’s plans.

Jero must see that softer side of Ester that she keeps hidden! Maybe talking into the night was the key! I’m glad mommy dearest is leaving. She didn’t give Rayo much hope either.

Angel just gets nicer and nicer. He has Danny’s school event on his calendar. But Silverno has been wanting that company for a long time! I wonder if Braulio is working for him.

I think the friends are getting closer. And Celeste is standing up for herself with Braulio. Of course he seems to have taken his anger out on Rayo. I think if, or when, she disappears, the three friends will really join forces.

Two men fighting over Mirna! That was a little unbelievable!

I guess the producers are hoping that young female viewers will go nuts over Rodrigo Brand (JuanPa) and why not? He's got that Clark Kent / Superman thing going on. Future leading man I think.

Ursula and Daniela couldn't be more different from each other. Memo needs to ditch the she-bear with or without a future with Daniela.

Thanks, Diana. I originally thought it was going to be a short recap yesterday until I found #37 was packed again with important scenes like that with Braulio. I have seen Alexis Ayala in a couple of novelas and thought that he was a very good actor but his nuanced portrayal of Braulio has been beyond outstanding. ITA with your comment about Rayo. All of her mother’s friends SAY that they KNOW what she needs but NOBODY is really stepping up to give her the daily, hourly, stability that she needs. In that way, Braulio is right. Julia, Ester and Celeste are all too busy with their own challenges to take on Rayo’s. They talk the talk but don’t do the walk. That is why I have always wondered if maybe she would better off in an orphanage where her physical needs at least would be met, she would be safe and maybe would find her enough structure to get her head together. Too bad Chepina didn’t take her under her wing.

Susanlynn, I am glad you enjoyed the recap. ITA abut Flavia’s intentions with Jero. when I saw Flavia putting herself on full display sitting and moaning on the concrete steps in #36, it was clear to me she was going to try to hook Jero. Why not? Maybe she could move Ester out that way? Let us hope he isn’t gullible enough to be drawn in.

Liz, I am glad you are enjoying this show as much as I am. This has 80 episodes which for me is a perfect novela length. So, we are approaching the halfway mark. Yes, Angel is a real keeper. It was touching with him having Danny’s festival date on his calendar. I, also,fear that Braulio will push Rayo right into Mati’s little gang and her bizarre plans she has for them. What is a 15 year old without resources supposed to do to survive?? Braulio needs a particularly nasty anvil when this is over.

Thanks, Diana, I enjoyed your retelling of the episode. Especially the (that makes one of us) regarding Macario changing. I was so worried Humberto was going to have a heart attack and take the info about Macario to his grave! Glad the girls know but disappointed that Gabby bought those crocodile tears of her dad.

I agree that Gaby seemed to forgive Sebastian and JuanPa very quickly. Maybe that’s her nature and would explain forgiving her dad. Although you always want to think your parents are flawless.

So glad Memo and Isa got to talk on the phone. And still don’t think Ursula really wants custody of Isa. Not sure what her motive is in pushing this. But I would bet money she’s going to spill the beans about Isa and Memo to Fausto.

I understand Danny being over the moon about Angel, but that little boy hurt his grandpa's feelings wanting Angel, not Rodolfo, to go with him to the school festival. Rodolfo has been more dad than granddad.

I hope that Celeste gets that even if Braulio is not the father (and Celeste should've taken some hairs and had the DNA test done on her own, to be sure it's not tampered with), this cruel monster is not worth staying married to. If Braulio truly isn't the father, I'm pretty sure he thinks he "could" be.

He knows Amparo loves Macario and has hope that Macario will change (that makes one of us).

My word, during his crying, there was even spittle, or a piece of food, hanging on Macario's bottom lip.

I didn't expect Macario to get busted so soon and by both daughters. I figured Homero was onto it, but he's got that heart condition... In an early epi, Homero told Amparo he would support her if she wanted to divorce Macario, but she went on about loving the children Macario gave her, the family, etc. The girls or Homero telling her what Mac did won't work. Amparo has got to witness Macario's dirt with her own eyes.

Karen, do your stuff. Get Memo back. Memo, you need a plan.

Niecie, Danny has been cute but his insistence on Angel’s presence and dismissal of Rodolfo was bordering on bratty, IMO. It could have been a good teaching moment. Too bad that Celeste is pregnant. If she weren’t, she could leave and be rid of Braulio for good.

I was surprised that both Lupita and Gaby found out what Macario did. Well, some of it anyway...Her children are Amparo's soft spot and Amparo is her father's. Macario is fully aware of this and uses this knowledge to his full advantage. Creep!
