Camino – Episode 25 – part 1 of 4

We return to the phone call between Isa and Memo. She begs him to come see her and he promises he would if he could, but he can’t! Isa decides that means he doesn’t love her and yells: ‘no me quieres’ over and over again while running away from the phone. Chuchita tells Memo that Isa has been so upset she’s even refusing to eat. Memo asks her to please let Isa call him whenever she wants to.

Memo hangs up the phone and lets Ursa know that Isa is upset because she wants to see him. Ursa wants to know what he’s going to do about it.

Mac tries to talk to Lupita but she yells at him to go away and leave her alone. He tries to beg, tries to insist, gets onto her for being rude, and finally tries to demand respect as her father; but nothing doing! He finally gives in to Lupita’s insistence and leaves.

Memo says he’s going to see Isa but Ursa thinks he should stop and think and be smart about it. If Falso sees him there he may react badly, Memo should wait for Karen to come through. He needs to be careful it’s a very complicated situation, he said so himself. Memo thinks the complications can be damned, his daughter needs him!

JuanPa and Gaby make it back to the office and JuanPa comments that she seems quiet and sad and Gaby is never like that. Gaby asks him to wait five minutes while she settles something, he says he’d wait his whole life for her! They kiss and Sebas comes up and sees them. He celebrates their reconciliation and they tell him they know he’s the one who wrote the card. Gaby says everyone deserves a second chance, even Sebas. He’s not as bad as she thought. Gaby goes off to take care of what she came for and Sebas continues to celebrate with JuanPa. He figures since he helped his buddy get Gaby back, now JuanPa will help him with Lupita… Nope, hold it right there! No way, JuanPa let’s Sebas know what he’s learned from this is not to get involved. If Sebas wants to win Lupita back, he’s going to have to do it alone! Sebas deflates, but only slightly.

Chuchita leads Isa in with her eyes covered and she’s thrilled to see Memo. These two hug and kiss and are happily reunited. And it’s adorable, Chita and Ursa just watch and smile at the genuine affection these two share.

Gaby has come to the office to talk to Eugenio. She’s nervous and upset and doesn’t know where to start. Eugenio says it’s usually easiest to start from the beginning. Gaby admits she wants a loan or advance to help Amparo get the restaurant back up and running, she can’t ask Falso because he wants to buy the lands. Eugenio agrees and gives Gaby the money.

Isa is so happy Memo is there but upset to hear he can only stay for a minute. Ursa has an idea though, the perfect excuse for them to be there AND to stay awhile; because Chuchita is making her wedding dress! Isa is super excited to hear it, Chita makes all her dolls clothes and they are super cool! Ursa is happy to please Isa and it’s hugs and kisses between them too as Ursa plays the doting future step-mother role to perfection!

Gaby is ready to go and Sebas offers to drive them. Gaby isn’t fooled and says he just wants to go as an excuse to see Lupita, undeterred Sebas is just like, ding point for Gaby! (LOL). Sebas swears he wants a serious relationship with Lupita and Gaby reluctantly goes along.

Is there anyone who can’t lie easily to Amparo?? She comes to demand to know what’s up between Lupita and Dad and even threatens to stay until Lupita coughs it up. Lupe lies about being upset over a grade and Amparo says if that’s the case, there’s no reason to take it out on Mac. She reads her the riot act about respecting Mac and demands Lupe apologize to daddy immediately. Lupita tries to demur but the best she can do is buy time by getting mom to agree to let her finish studying before going to apologize to daddy.

 

Camino – Episode 25 – part 2 of 4

Isa is eating now since Memo is there and they have a conversation about how she has to eat even if she doesn’t want to! Memo tells her a story about him getting sick as a child after refusing to eat. They make a friend promise that Isa will eat well no matter what.

Dani is planning the beach house landscape with Claudia when her new assistant arrives and Claudia is upset to realize Memo no longer works with Dani. She goes on and on about how great Memo is and Dani agrees he is very special. Claudia wonders if they got into an argument but Dani says no; they had a scheduling conflict they couldn’t work out (I think). Claudia says it’s too bad, they were a great team. Dani sadly agrees, yes, we were a great team.

The newly hired Chuchita is measuring Ursa for her wedding dress as Memo and Isa watch. It’s ten days til the wedding… count them 10! I’m sure Ursa isn’t the first bride, no wait, scratch that she probably is, Ursa is the first bride to wait until 10 days before the wedding day to hire a seamstress to make her a wedding dress! Isa is sure the dress will be very beautiful and Ursa agrees she’s going to be the most beautiful bride. Isa wants to go to the wedding.

Lupita is staring at her parents wedding photo when Gaby arrives home with JuanPa and Sebas! Sebas is all ready to make his appeal but Lupita is so distraught she just asks him to take her away from here. She doesn’t want to talk or explain just leave! She runs out and Sebas follows. JuanPa says he better go too and kisses Gaby goodbye.

It's time to go and Memo and Ursa or saying goodbye. Isa asks Memo to say one second more and he bends down and hugs her close! At that moment, Falso arrives home and demands to know what Memo is doing in his house!

Gaby comes to see grandpa and gives him the money she got from Eugenio. Grandpa agrees again that he will give Mac one last chance for Gaby’s sake but he’s going to give him the money himself and he’s going to tell him exactly what’s what! Gaby gratefully agrees.

Ursa tris the wedding dress excuse, but Falso isn’t appeased. Isa finally admits she asked Memo to come. Memo says he came because Isa was very sad. Falso says he will take care of HIS daughter, and Ursa has to all but drag Memo out.

Mac goes to chat with Humberto who gives him another lecture about home and family. He talks about how he and his wife worked hard to construct their home. Mac cries and whines and pretends he’s repentant. He says he wants to construct his own future. Humberto gives him the money Gaby borrowed from Eugenio and tells him what Gaby did to get the money and says it’s time to decide….are you going to do things right this time or are you going to gamble your last chance away?

The nicer and more charming Falso is long gone and he screams at Chuchita for helping Isa to see Memo and swears that if she ever goes it again, she’ll be gone! He doesn’t care if she’s known Dani all her life!!!

To Mac’s very little credit, he tries to not take the money – for like one minute – but then grabs it up. Humberto warns he’s watching him. He better give the money to Salinas and not gamble with it. And when he does give the money over, he better tell the rat inspector to drop the farce and get the restaurant open. Mac says he’ll try, but Humberto says trying isn’t good enough; you’ll do it! If the restaurant issue isn’t resolved tomorrow Humberto will go to the authorities and tell them exactly what happened – no matter who goes down for it!

 

Camino – Episode 25 – part 3 of 4

Falso next spreads sunshine to Isa, and although I reluctantly agree that Isa is being rude and disrespectful this time, it was kind of funny to see her shaking her finger at Falso telling him off for how he treated Memo and Chuchita! Falso didn’t think it was funny though and he tells Isa she needs to respect her parents even if she doesn’t like their decisions. Isa says he’s malo and she doesn’t want to talk to him, and Falso gets mad and takes her telescope! (I hate it when Isa cries, both because it’s sad and because I can’t understand her when she’s crying) Falso says she’s become very rude since meeting Memo and his family; she will stay in her room until she learns to behave, so now I guess she’s grounded from her telescope and grounded to her room. Isa continues to cry and it’s heartbreaking.

I thought Falso was only taking the telescope away but he breaks it and throws it away!! Poor Dani comes home at precisely that moment and she gets yelled out next. Falso insists people need to start respecting him in his house! He blames Dani for everything and says he’s reached his limit! Isa is under punishment until he says otherwise and he took the telescope away. Dani tries to explain the telescope belongs to Memo and is only borrowed but Falso couldn’t care less. He continues to rant and even goes so far as to call Isa an orphan who should be grateful to him for taking her in – I stopped listening, the jackass is back!

Lupita is now at Sebas’s and he tries to get through to her but she’s still withdrawn. She wishes he had taken her somewhere else but Sebas says this is the most peaceful place in the world – when his toxic sister isn’t around! LOL Sebas tries to get closer and Lupita begs him to stop. Can’t he drop the Romeo act for one day? She has enough problems without having to defend herself from his advances too. Sebas agrees and goes to sit on the other seat. He asks again what is wrong? It’s obvious it’s something serious. Lupita has said nothing and next Gaby starts texting. Lupita doesn’t want to talk, doesn’t want to think! Can’t they just watch a movie or TV show or something? Sebas agrees and even offers her popcorn.

Isa is now crying to Dani. Dad has never treated her like that. Dani says Falso was wrong to act the way he did but Isa shouldn’t have been rude to him. Isa says she just wanted to see Memo. Dad is malo (can’t argue there) and come to think of it, Mom is the one who sent Memo away so she’s mala too! Isa doesn’t want to talk to anyone! She goes to hug her teddy bear! (I really hope the writers don’t go too far with this rude and spoiled streak. Isa has been sweet since day 1 I wouldn’t want to see her change)

Mac meets with Salinas and hands over the money. He has to count it and tells Mac he’s not trustworthy! LOL Mac tries to threaten Salinas to get the restaurant opened back up… he clearly never heard of the you can catch more flies with honey approach. It doesn’t go well and Salinas leaves. Humberto calls and Mac has to tell him he failed. Humberto hangs up and calls his son-in-law an idiot. He warned him. He calls the police chief to make an appointment to talk to him ASAP. He knows him well.

Now Isa is crying to Karen and Karen pretends that she cares. She promises she will help Isa convince Dani and Memo to work together again. They pinky promise to keep it a secret between them and Isa is now happy because she thinks Memo will soon be back.

 

Camino – Episode 25 – part 4 of 4

Karen goes downstairs and Dani is upset with Memo for coming. Karen says not to be hard on him, it’s obvious he and Isa have a special connection. Dani is sure Isa will get over it, people lose friends, it’s part of life. And loves, Karen asks. Like Dani herself says, it’s the millionth time Karen has tried to get Dani to admit she loves Memo and encourage her to bring him back. Karen asks how Falso is doing and then decides that since he’s having a horrible day she’d love to make it worse! Dani says she never changes and Karen goes off to Falso’s office.

I didn’t listen closely because these two make me sick, but the gist of Karen’s argument with Falso is this, if he doesn’t advocate for Memo’s reinstatement Karen will tell Dani all about their affair! Heck, she’ll even show Dani a copy of Falso’s dad’s will so she’ll know exactly what her marriage is about. Falso tries to intimidate Karen but she isn’t backing down. In fact, she goes to call Dani and asks her to join them in the office. Dani enters and Karen nervously says she has something very delicate to tell her.

Memo and Ursa argue about hiring a lawyer again and even though I don’t like Ursa’s motivates or intentions, I agree that Memo could use a lawyer. Not to fight for custody but to learn the legalities of the situation and protect whatever rights he might have.

Dani is worried and Karen starts talking circles around how what she’s about to say will change their friendship forever. She just hopes Dani can forgive her. Karen keeps talking until Falso predictably interrupts and says some nonsense about Karen wanting to fire him…yada yada yada. Karen was worried Dani would hate her. Yada, yada, stupid, dumb, dumb. Dani once again leaves these two alone to reconcile their differences.

Chuchita is drawing a dress for Ursa and Dani thinks it’s very pretty but isn’t the skirt too short? Chita says it fits Ursa’s style and she has the body to pull it off. Dani comments that Ursa and Memo are so different and Chita says sometimes love is like that, you fall for the person you’d least expect.

Ugh. Karen and Falso reconcile. No shock there, but yuck anyway. Falso is all happy and kisses and talking about how he needs her. Karen is all clingy and needy and talking about ‘make an excuse to leave, I need you tonight!’ But if Falso thought this reconciliation would save him from Memo he’s sorely disappointed, the ultimatum is still in play. This time Karen twists the request by making Falso believe the real reason she needs Memo back is because he threatened to expose their relationship if she didn’t help him get his job back! She tells him that Memo has a copy of the kiss video, he made a copy before Falso deleted it!

(If Falso had half a brain he’d realize it makes no sense that Karen would threaten to expose their secret, to blackmail him into hiring Memo back; just to keep Memo from exposing their secret… but Falso doesn’t seem that bright so it will probably never occur to him)

 

Camino

Darcy, this was sensational! A summary does not fashion itself. It was you who threaded the needle, envisioned the pattern, and wove a wonderful, intricate tapestry of words, emotions and actions.

So much was “Yada, yada, stupid, dumb, dumb” – you are exactly right. Very clever.
There are veiled threats, but thus far, not one in this story! Here, threats are made overtly and directly. Some are made at wits end, to right a wrong Humberto to Macario and Macario to Salinas. Others are ominous, made solely to serve one’s own malicious and cruel desires; Karen forcing Fausto to allow Memo to return. And lastly, some, to correct a perceived slight; Amparo to Lupita about “disrespecting” Memo. All met with varying degrees of success.

Isa has been a ray of sunshine; a dear, sweet child. And that is the way we want to see her and need to see her. We already have several demanding divas, no need for a miniature version!

Poisons can generally be flushed from one’s system in ten to seventy-three hours. Interesting. Fausto has tried for years to rid himself of Karen, yet her particular strain of poison still courses through his veins.

“Ursa isn’t the first bride, no wait, scratch that she probably is, Ursa is the first bride to wait until 10 days before the wedding day to hire a seamstress to make her a wedding dress!” I thought the same thing. Chuchita was taking some interesting measurements including Ursula’s upper thigh. Will there be shorts of some type under the skirt? Inquiring minds wander and wonder.

Loved “Sebas deflates, but only slightly”.

I’m curious as to how Fausto is going to lure Memo back after he evicted him so scathingly. Will he crawl on his belly for forgiveness like the snake he is? Now that I would relish!

¡Hola, Camineros!

Thank you Darcy and Diane for the rapid recap and quotable notables.

First things first: Isa’s antics are wearing very thin. The actress is doing great, but the character has gotten away with way too much without any sort of consequences or respect for anyone. Yes, she’s having to make uncomfortable adjustments, but that does not give anyone at any age the right to be a jerk. The writers need to reign this bad behavior in STAT.

I’m glad JuanPa & Gaby are back on track. Sebaspatán, the keeper, is choogling right along on the Redemption Track.

I shouted “Yes!” at my screen when Gaby went to meet with Eugenio. I better not publish what I shouted when she asked for a loan. I wanted her to spill the whole cántaro of tea/olla of beans.

Amparo should start a master class on How to Deal With Disrespectful Hijas. Loved the picture of Amparo & Mac as newlyweds. Nice detail.

Kudos to the writers (and actor). I had no idea if Mac was going to (a) refuse the money, (b) head straight back to the races or (c) finally do the right thing. I yelled, “Yes!” when Humberto gave Mac a deadline for getting the restaurant reopened. I better not publish what I yelled when Humberto called the Chief! Wow.

I’ve mentioned I love a good poker game. I was intrigued by Karen and Fausto’s bluffs. Kudos to Karen for playing Fausto like a fiddle, i.e., Memo’s phantom recovered video and threats. This all better signal the returns of Memo’s chamba & a likable, articulate Isabela.

VENCER LA AUSENCIA #38 Part 1

Notes from the couch . . . "Just the Facts" edition


RAYO

Egged on by Mati, Rayo takes spray paint and a baseball bat to Braulio's car. She adds a message : "Te odio" (I hate you) spray-painted on the windshield. Mati is overjoyed to be free but Rayo is not as excited about it. They spend the night under a bridge. The next day, Mati dresses for her new job in a public restroom. Rayo tries to adopt Mati's nihilistic attitude since she belongs nowhere or to anyone.

Julia gets a message from Rayo that she is going to go live with a friend. Rayo calls her and explains she is afraid of being arrested for something she didn't do. She is safe and Julia has to trust her.

Mati confers with Luisa about the requirements of her new job. Luisa shows her where she can find the keys. She explains them all noting that a certain one is for the room where the late lady of the house's belongings are kept. It is to be cleaned once a month.

It looks like Mati is trying to open that door to that room as a place for Rayo to hide when Homero approaches them and asks who is there.


MIRNA

Sergio wins the fight with Armando. Angel arrives on the scene. Sergio lies and blames the way he looks post-fight on a car that almost hit him! Mirna keeps quiet. Over some coffee, Sergio tells Angel he has serious intentions when it comes to Miranda. They are novios. Angel encourages Mirna to study a profession besides planning on being a wife and a mother. She can do both. It doesn't look like she is interested.


CELESTE

Celeste gets a lot of support from Julia and Ester. Braulio spoils the moment barging in blaming them and their gossip all for his current dilemma. The friends leave. Braulio tells Celeste that will be staying in the house. He worries too much about her to be away. He will get the DNA test done if Celeste can provide him with some of Rayo's hair. He is sure that Rayo vandalized his car but he will let things be as long as her favorite brat isn't around. Celeste tells him that if she wants to see Rayo, that will be her decision, not his.


ESTER

Jero tells Claudia that he has noticed that she and Ester don't get along very well. Claudia says it is because they are too much alike.

Ester finds out from Claudia that Rayo was in Ivan's room and saw and read everything on her bulletin board. She blames her mother for allowing Rayo to be there. She accuses her mother for never having any respect for her or her things. As they continue arguing, Claudia has a pain in her left arm. Jero and Ester take her to the hospital. She has no heart problems but rather she is suffering from a herniated cervical disc aggravated by stress and anxiety.

Jero takes Claudia for her medical checkup. Claudia says she can go home in peace knowing that Jero is with Ester. He is the only person who seems to have a calming effect on Ester in the midst of her mourning the death of her son. Flavia disrupts the moment needing to remind Jero that they have to get together to discuss business. After she leaves, Claudia warns Jero that he needs to be very careful around Flavia because she can tell by the way Flavia looked at him that she has her sights set on him. Jero doesn't think so. Claudia tells him again to watch out for Flavia!!

Ester thinks back to her mother telling her that she wants her to have it better and not end up like her. That thought spurs Ester into action. She sends out a message to all of Iván's friends and acquaintances that she wants to create an homage to her son. She asks them to send her their memories or thoughts of him. In that way they can all say goodbye to him in a way that he deserves and then his ashes can be placed where they should be. She receives many heartfelt messages and memories. Then she receives a different kind of message. It says that Iván was not who she thought he was. If she wants to learn more, she needs to make a deposit and she will be told everything.


 

VENCER Part 2

ANGEL

Angel meets with Brauliio about the financial state of the company. Angel says he is hopeful. Braulio tells him the there is not enough money to pay Silvano back in the next few months. Angel wants to ask his father about turning the company into a cooperative again. Braulio thinks that is a ridiculous idea. Angel is not insulted but want to hear Braulio's reasoning. Braulio sees the company as his family's heritage and it shouldn't be lost turning it into a cooperative.


JULIA

Julia tells Angel that he needs to dress in yellow for the festival because that is Danny's color and the people coming to support him have to wear the same color. She later shows up in his office with a yellow t-shirt for him. Angel is all happy and excited abut going to support Danny. Braulio has to spoil another moment by saying how sad it is that Danny's father can't be there with his son.

After leaving Angel and Julia, he tells Ester that now he knows why Julia and Margarita were friends, they act the same way with men.

Julia tells Angel that she and Ester gave the police the info on where she thinks Misael might be. She tells him that she feels nothing for Misael. It is over. Angel says he is done with Ana Sofi. She informs him about how Ana Sofí has launched this campaign against her on line. He had no idea.

They both are all smiles and almost kiss.


JERO

Jero and Flavia are loading equipment into the food truck. Jero is pleased that she looks happy. Flavia talks about the fear and panic she has of feeling alone like her mother did after her father left. He tells her to take it easy and that it doesn't have to be the same way.


GINA

Ana Sofí wants Gina to post her breakup video the next day. The next day, Gina is noticing a big increase in traffic on her own site. It runs out that Gina made a mistake and paste the video to her account instead of Ana Sofí's account. Ana Sofí is less than pleased that everyone thinks it is Gina's video.


SILVANO

Silvano is upset by something that somebody has told him on the phone when Ana Sofí comes asking for her allowance to be deposited earlier. He tells her he has no time for her nonsense. Ana Sofí makes it clear that she is not happy with him treating her that way and he readily apologizes and give her a hug.

Please feel free to add anything I left out.
 

VENCER

I have been thinking about Braulio's visceral hatred of Margarita. It is always centered on her sexuality. Could it be that she spurned him or embarrassed him sexually somehow?

Jero better have eyes in the back of his head with Flavia.

Oh great, somebody wants Ester to pay for information on her son. Sounds like a scam to me but that probably would be too simple.
 

Vencer

Jarifa, your recaps are never “just the facts” but carefully considered events, related perfectly, that always add to the rich texture of this story.

“Rayo tries to adopt Mati's nihilistic attitude since she belongs nowhere or to anyone” was beyond.

Although well intentioned, neither Julia, Celeste nor lastly Ester have been able to get through to Rayo that she is wanted, she is loved. They care but all are wrapped up in their own lives, their own problems, I always have the feeling she is just not the priority she needs to be. She is a child alone. My heart sank watching her settle in for what surely would be a frightening night, out in the elements.

Rayo and Homero finally meet face to face. I can’t wait to see what transpires.

Ester finally channels her energy into doing something constructive and hopefully healing to remember Ivan. From the flashbacks, it doesn’t appear that Ivan was anything but a loving son and good friend to others. I fear the call is not a complete hoax and hope nothing turns up to spoil our and Ester’s illusions.

I like Jero but it’s frustrating he has blinders as far as Flavia is concerned. Good heavens man, the woman looks like she wants to devour you whole. Wake up!

Jarifa, "visceral hatred" was a perfect descriptor. I think either is a viable option. I would vote that she rejected him. He is contemptible.

Thanks, Darcy, an excellent retelling of a busy episode.

I hate how Fausto looks down on other people like he does. He’s a real user too.

I was sure Mac was going to gamble the money. But I guess he is a little scared of what his father-in-law can do to his life! But I worry about Humberto’s heart. They’ve been teasing us with the pain and I hope he survives to talk to the authorities.

Ten days until the wedding. It takes longer than that to get it fitted after you buy the dress! And Dani finally questioned what Memo sees in Ursula. I’ve been asking that since day one!

The real Fausto is back! I guess he could only put on his charming act for a little bit!

The sisters need to get together and realize they both know about their father. I hope Amparo finds out soon! But I feel that the writers will keep her in the dark for a while. Gaby was smart enough to know not to go to Fausto for help. The girls might be the first to catch on to everything. And Mac hasn’t talked to his girlfriend lately. I wonder when she’ll appear!

Were you reading my mind?? :) I definitely thought he was drooling at the prospect of gambling it away!! I guess he finally realized this was his last shot and he better do what needs to be done.

But this story is still rather in its infancy so I suspect there will be many other opportunities for Macario to screw things up!

Jarifa, many thanks for you notes from the couch! It fills in all the gaps I have in the dialogue.

Braulio is definitely one of those men that has no respect for woman. He’s always so rude to them and looking down on them. I hope, for the baby’s sake, that it’s a boy!

It does seem like Flavia has her sights set on Jero. Is it just because she thinks he’s Ester’s? Probably!

So Sergio lied and blamed a car for his bruises. Nothing like meeting your may be future brother-in-law and starting out with a lie. Wouldn’t Armando have some bruises. And not sure why he felt the need to attack. Mirna is right when she said they never had anything between them. Guess he’s worried about Silvano.

I wondered why Gina was getting all those likes! This might be the end of her dream job!

Mati supposedly lived with her dad. I wonder if this was a lie and she’s homeless. Then her whole relationship with Rayo would be that she didn’t want to be on the streets alone and set out to have Rayo give everything up. She is definitely not a good friend. She egged Rayo on in messing up the car and now Rayo is afraid of being arrested.

The road is wide open for Julia and Angel. I love the scenes when they’re together!

Darcy, you rocked on this one (as with all the others :-) and I love your sides! Thank you!

I was really hoping Lupita would confront Mac and tell him what she overheard, but then we would have had the super ugly crying and groveling all over again. Loved, "Is there anyone who can’t lie easily to Amparo??" Great question! Most of the time, Amparo is so smart, assertive and stands her ground. How can such a person be so easily fooled????

I loved seeing Isa smile again, but it was short-lived. Yeah, a bit over the top with the spoiled little brat bit and disrespectfulness, but I kept thinking of the "call of the blood." But in Isa's case it is (literally) a shout/cry for the blood.

I had the same reaction about the wedding dress being made within 10 days of the wedding. QUE? QUE? But then if it's as short as Dani made it seem to be, that may be more than enough time.

Diana, I am always awestruck with your eloquent comments. "Poisons can generally be flushed from one’s system in ten to seventy-three hours. Interesting. Fausto has tried for years to rid himself of Karen, yet her particular strain of poison still courses through his veins." Beautiful and insightful!

O.S. "I had no idea if Mac was going to (a) refuse the money, (b) head straight back to the races or (c) finally do the right thing." Me neither! The only reason it made sense that he "did the right thing" was because the inspector threatened to tell all if Mac didn't pay up.

And YAY! for Humberto who is sticking to his guns! Liz, "But I worry about Humberto’s heart. They’ve been teasing us with the pain and I hope he survives to talk to the authorities." I too worry about him, and I hope he makes it, not only to talk to the authorities, but the end of the show!

Ordering a wedding dress only 10 days before the ceremony? I can see bridezillas doing that and this she-bear is determined to get Memo shackled ASAP. We can hope Cesar will come in singing "Here I come to save the day!"

Ursula looks like she wants to outdo Niurka Marcos?

It will probably take Humberto, Gaby, and Lupe together to show Amparo what her husband is. Even then I'm not sure that will be adequate.

It was fun to see Karen checkmating Fausto; she is much smarter than he is. However, not smart enough to realize she could do much better than Fausto.

Ursa is happy to please Isa and it’s hugs and kisses between them too as Ursa plays the doting future step-mother role to perfection!

Ursula is wrong to try to hang onto a man that she knows doesn't love her (in truth, Memo wasn't in love with Ursula even before he fell for Dani), but it looks like, at least for now, she doesn't resent Isa, only Dani.

I too worry for Humberto. I wish he'd tell Memo and Leo what's happening with Macario.

Looking forward to the dress Cuchita dreams up for Ursula. As Cuchita pointed out to Dani, who barely hid her longing for Memo, Ursula is a wild thang so she's designing a wild thang gown.

Diana, Great warning for Jero: “. . . the woman looks like she wants to devour you whole.” I fear that his always wanting to give everyone the benefit of the doubt will come back and bite him. As for Braulio, whatever hatred he has for Margarita, it is surely personal.

Liz, if only it were the end of Gina’s dream job. That might help resolve the rift between her and Julia. ITA that Flavia is going after Jero because she thinks he is with Ester. Something isn’t right in that noggin of hers.

I'm sure Ivan was a fine young man with flaws like all of us. I sure hope Ester doesn't get scammed. Why would the person need money to come clean? Ester, tell Jero.

Claudia and Jero were welcome calm together. Claudia knows good yerno material when she sees it. I've no doubt that Jero will be immune to Flavia's charms, but that woman will lie lie lie to try to fake out Ester and bust them up.

Rayo and Mati - I fear both of them will wind up doing time.
 

Niecie, I wonder if Ester can see that her son had flaws now that he is dead. Whether the call is a hoax or not, just considering that she didn’t know EVERYTHING about Iván could be problematic. Since the writers never waste words, I cannot wait to see where the $$$ seeking message leads us.

It hadn’t occurred to me to worry about Humberto, I was just glad someone was taking action and getting results! Let’s hope he is strong enough to deal with this mess.

I really don’t like everyone covering for Mac so I hope Amparo finds out soon. Maybe if Humberto goes to the captain he will have to investigate and Amparo will find out…

VENCER LA AUSENCIA #39 Part 1

Notes from the couch . . . the once I started writing, I couldn't stop edition!

FLASHBACK

Iván is happily planning his exchange studies on Amibuk when he gets a message from a girl. She says he probably doesn't remember her but they have something very important to talk about. He sees a photo of a landscape with a girl in it and recognizes her as CINTHIA. He looks puzzled.

PRESENT

ESTER

Ester responds to the message telling the person that she knows very well who her son was and that they will not be getting one red cent from her. That does not stop her from wondering if that person really does know something.

Ester tells Jero about the mystery message. On the profile page there was a landscape. She suspects it is a fraud or blackmail attempt but she cannot keep from thinking that this CINTHIA knows something important about her son. Jero says there are many criminals that are on the look out for situations like hers. Jero adds they are only looking for money and could leave the situation even worse than before. He tells her it is best to forget all about it. Ester agrees with him but the more she thinks about her son's death the more doubts she has. What if this woman knows something about her son???

Ester and Jero are glad to be sitting in the park where they met the first time and reminisce about what was going on in their lives. He says she never stopped helping him. He grabs he hand and says that is why he now wants to support her in everything. He suspects the "CINTHIA" profile is not real and somebody could want to take advantage of her. She grabs his hand and drops it saying that he is probably right but she wonders if behind that profile she might find a clue, something. Jero asks her to let it go already. He is worried she is going to fail into somebody's trap that is all set up to cheat her. He thinks she should think about how to say goodbye to her son and where she wants to place his ashes.

Claudia finds Ester cleaning out Iván's closet deciding which clothes to donate. She is pleased to see Ester letting go. Ester says she knew it was going to be hard but she had no idea of how hard. Ester says it is hard not knowing if Iván left something undone. Claudia says they will never know that. The best is to let him go. Ester shows her mother the shirt that Iván wore the first day at the university. He said it was his lucky shirt. She decides to keep it.

Claudia is finally going home and thanks Jero for his hospitality, kindness and for being such a good person with her and especially Ester. It has been a pleasure getting to know him. He thanks her saying he feels the same. Claudia tells Ester that even if they do not get along very well or are in contact very often, they do love each other lot. Ester smiles and agrees repeating "a lot". They FINALLY hug as Claudia gingerly pats her back.

Claudia wants to give Ester some money before she leaves. Ester says she doesn't want it. Claudia insists and insists. Ester takes it and thanks her. Claudia asks if she came for a medical checkup. Claudia says yes but she really came to meet Jero. She wanted to see what kind of person he was and what was going on between them. Ester says there is nothing going on. Claudia says there is nothing because Ester will not let it happen. Jero is not confused. He is in love with her. She needs to realize it is time to love and not to be alone. She is telling her that because she only wants the best for her, her daughter. They hug again; a real hug this time.
 

VENCER Part 2

Ester cannot help herself and answers the text. She wants to know what CINTHIA knows about Iván. If it is something really important, she is ready to negotiate. She is asked for a deposit and then she will be told something that Iván never got to tell her. Ester asks if it had to do with Margarita. CINTHIA will not talk unless there is a payment. She is not in Mexico but she will send her an account number for the deposit. Ester looks at the envelope of money and thinks of what to do next.

RAYO

Mati introduces herself to Homero as Luisa's replacement. As Rayo tries to open the locked room, Mati offers to fix Homero something to eat and tries to hurry him to the kitchen. He wants something tasty; something that is worthwhile eating. He wants some stuffed and breaded chiles, something with lots of bacon. Mati keeps turning his head so he cannot see Rayo from the second floor. Luisa tells her that he is not allowed to eat bacon. Finally, Rayo makes her way into the locked room.

Celeste sends Rayo a message. She knows that Braulio was hard on her but she has always wanted her to be a part of her family. She asks her to please answer her. Rayo is not impressed.

Mati brings her water and a sandwich. She also managed to leave get the keys to the house copied.

Julia texts Rayo. She won't block her like Mati suggests. Rayo decides to answer her and send her a photo of her in "her" room so that she will look like she is okay. Julia says she won't be happy until she introduces her to her friend and can visit her in the house where she is living. In the meantime, she needs her to stop by because she has the paternity DNA test. Mati tells her she is no longer interested in finding out who her father is. Julia says it is up to her.Rayo eventually says that she'll take the test and they agree to talk later about a time to meet. Rayo explains to Mati that she doesn't care anymore but she wants to do it for Julia so she knows. Mati doesn't understand why she would care about her.

Mati checks in with Rayo. There is really nobody around who is paying attention. Rayo can live like a ghost because nobody is going to see her. Ray's beginning to see how she could live there her whole life. She is only afraid that her mother's friends will find her. Mati tells her to block them already.
 

VENCER Part 3

Rayo meet with Julia in the park. She gives her a plastic bag containing some of her hair. Rayo is ready to leave but Julia wants to come and see where she is living. Rayo says that her friend is not there and her mom always said you have to plan things. She wouldn't want to bother her friend's mother. Julia will not be dissuaded until there is a call from Chepina. She washed the t-shirt for Danny and it is no longer yellow. Julia has to go buy another one but makes Rayo promise she will take her to the house where she is living another time.

Rayo and Mati text each other. It looks like Mati is at her house(?) or in the servant's quarters??? They agree that if they are discovered they will just find another place where they can live for nothing. Rayo asks if her father is worried about her . Mati says her father doesn't care what she does just like in her family where nobody cares about her. They are the same the rejected ones!

JULIA

Rodolfo calls Julia to tell her that he cannot pick up Danny. She says he doesn't sound like himself. She asks what is going on. Rodolfo is busy with work.

Julia tells Chepina bout her father acting strangely. Chepina says she hasn't noticed.

Celeste comes to see Rayo Julia explains that Rayo left and went to live at a friend's home. Celeste blames Julia for letting her go. Julia tells her she never said anything to them and decided leave other own. Celeste reminds her that Rayo is a child. Julia says it wasn't like they let her go like Celeste did. Julia says that she is okay because she saw her a little while ago. She brought her some hair for a DNA test. Celeste runs home a get a few of Braulio's hairs so they can have the DNA tests done together.

Rodolfo tells Julia that he might not be able to go to the festival because he has to work a lot again. Julia still thinks he is acting strangely and asks him what mystery is he keeping a secret. He insists it is just work. Chepina still has no idea what is going on with Rodolfo.

Julia and Gina are still not talking. Chepina has had it with them and wants them to make up. She has no luck.

It is the day of the festival and Danny is waiting for Angel to arrive. Julia says they have ten minutes to go. She gets a text from Rodolfo telling her he will not be able to make it to the festival. Angel arrives with a yellow jacket to wear over his yellow shirt. He reminds Danny that he said he would come. Julia thanks him for coming. They go in together.

After the festival, Angel tells Danny that he did an incredible job. he was the best of them all. Danny wanted to do well for his mother and him. Julia loved it and is so proud of him. Angel invites them out to eat. They have a great time. Julia thanks him for being so good with Danny. He did lots of things with his father when he was younger but in more recent times, Misael was way too busy to spend much time with him. Julia tells Angel how she hasn't had that good of a day in a long time. Angel asks if that could be because she is falling in love with him. He is dying to know the answer. She kisses him.

SANTINO

(It turns out that Santino owns a transportation company, too, just like Homero. I saw the name of his company towards the end of the episode. )

Santino wants Zac to tell him know how Misael could have escaped. He says his men were tired and fell asleep. Zac tells him that Misael isn't important and he doesn't know why he is so interested in him anyway. Santino makes it clear he wants Misael whatever the cost. Zac says that they are surveilling his wife Julia's house. Santino says that Misael is never going home. Where is Misael???
 

VENCER Part 4

The next day (?) , Santino tells Ana Sofí to forget her jealousy and to tell him what she knows about Julia Miranda. She can only describe her in insults. All he wants to know is how to pressure Misael her husband. Ana Sofí doesn't understand him being so interested in that guy but then makes the connection from their earlier conversation. Ana Sofí doesn't like when her father lies and wants the truth if she is going to help him out. He says now the most important thing is that he has located him. Ana Sofí asks so what???

GINA

Ana Sofí calls Gina stupid and yells at a her for posting the breakup video on her account. What to do? Gina says they could set Ana Sofí up as being the victim and then her followers will want to support her and send her their love!A na Sofí likes that.

Ana Sofí is critical of Gina's work for her so far. She tells her to get going. Lots of girls would die to have her job. Ana Sofí tells her she may have to take drastic measures if things do not change.

Gina tells Ariel how angry Ana Sofí is with Julia and she doesn't know what to do. If she leaves this job, what kind a chance will she ever have of bring an influencer herself.? Erik comes in calling attention to himself as usual. He offers Gina his shoulder to rest her head on so he can support her. She rests her head on his shoulder.

JERO

Jero suggests to Flavia that due to the size of the truck, that they limit themselves to cooking Mexican fast food like sopes, flautas, burritos, tostadas, etc. She loves the idea. He is so creative, such an entrepreneur and a hard worker like she is!!!! He is the best partner!!! He says they need two workers to lend a hand. He is thinking of his two sons. Flavia says she will agree to whatever he says.

Jero studies with Adair. Ebe comes in. Jero would like the three of them to work on the food truck. Lenar wonders why he wants to turn her sons into his "help" on the truck. Didn't he want them to study? Jero nods.

Jero is working on the food truck as Flavia sits. He tells her that his ex is allowing his sons to be there to lend him a hand even though she is not in favor of it. Flavia says he could convince anyone. Flavia is worried that his novia Ester is going to get jealous because of all the time he is going to be spending son the business. He smiles saying that Ester knows that he is now all Flavia's. She smiles back.

ANGEL

Angel tells Braulio that he cannot schedule a meeting for tomorrow because he has an important commitment to go to Danny's festival. He tells Braulio a secret. He he likes Julia. He is in love with her.

Angel tells his father how excited he is to go to Julia's son's festival. Homero asks if he is excited to see the boy or his mother. Angel admits that he has hopes of starting a relationship with Julia. Mirna overhears but Armando catches her eavesdropping. Angel hears them on the stairs and goes to look. Homero asks who it was. Angel says it wasn't anyone.

Mirna tells them that Luisa's substitute is working out fine. Homero says she is a little girl. Angel hopes she hired somebody who is 18. Mirna lies and says she is very very sure!

FLAVIA

Flavia goes looking for her partner Jero at his apartment. Claudia answers the door and says he is not there but went out to do what novios do. Flavia sarcastically says "novios". Well, she needs to talk to him about their business. Claudia asks her if she hasn't been coming around a bit too much to talk to Jero. Well, Claudia thinks that she has. Claudia asks her if she is doing it for her business or for something else . . . Flavia is done with the interrogation. She will come back later.

Flavia asks Max for a divorce.


 

VENCER Part 5

MIRNA

Sergio contacts Mirna from Monterey where his boss' meetings are going very well. Soon they will be opening up point of sale franchises in Monterrey. He is in charge of the security component so he cannot give her many details right now. All he can say is that the company he works for is very powerful and has to do with coffee. She wants to know what he exactly does. He cannot tell her anymore. He says maybe he could get her a job at the company since she has studied administration.. . . (sure she has) He is sure that she is very talented and her resume must be spectacular. Mirna is at a lost for words. They miss each other so very much! After she hangs up, it looks like the bloom might be off the rose when she realizes that he could want her to work. HER!

Homero tells Mirna that he is starting to hear strange noises in the house. She writes him off since he is taking his meds. She leaves.

CELESTE

Celeste is at home looking for her professional/work records. She cannot find them and calls Braulio. He is put out because he is at work doing his job. He asks what she would want those useless papers for anyway. He has no idea. She knows he has a lot to do so she decided to help him out and she did the DNA test. Braulio is angry reminding her that he said that he was going to take care of it but as usual she does whatever she feels like.She asks if he is afraid of the result or does he want to see the results first? He has no time for the questions of an insecure woman! He hangs up.

VENVER

A new character: Cinthia. I can only guess what kind of surprise she might have.

CAMINO Ep 26 Part 1

Amparo and Gaby discuss Lupita's odd behavior. Gaby shares how Lupita seemed very upset and left. Amparo wonders what is goin on with Lupita; she thinks Sebas is a distraction and tha is what is affecting Lupita's performance in school. Amparo then asks how things are going at work...with Fausto. When Gaby replies that things are going well, Amparo comments how she thought Fausto was planning something underhanded to get the property. Gaby lies as she assures that Fausto doesn't ask anything about family.

Sebas takes an appreciative Lupita home. When Sebas tells her that he always has a good time when he is with her, Lupita tells him no to get his hopes up, but Sebas has alot of time and patience. Lupita smiles after Sebas gives her a quick goodbye kiss.

Karen calls Memo and chides him for going over to Falso's house. She tells him that if he wants his job back, he'd better listen to her and do exactly as she says.

Falso makes up a sorry excuse to get out of the house.

Gaby questions Lupita about her odd behavior, but Lupita refuses to talk.

Falso and Karen meet. The forked tongues collide.

Dani thinks about kissing Memo. Meanwhile, Memo dreams that he tells Isa that he is her father. In his dream, Isa is very happy but the sweet dream turns into a nightmare when Fausto appears and takes Isa away.

Segismundo and Chuchita are talking in the kitchen as Karen eavesdrops. Karen finally makes herself known and asks Chuchita to go tell Dani that she is there.

Dani is with Isa who pleads with Dani to let Memo return. When Chuchita arrives with breakfast, Isa refuses to eat, but when Chuchita reminds her of her promise to Memo, Isa agrees to eat.

Karen flirts with Segis and kisses him. When Karen hears Dani approach, she pushes Segis away and chides him for what he did. After she tells Dani that Segis tried to assault her, Dani runs Segis off.

Amparo and Leo watch the news about the inspector's arrest.

Chuchita enters the kitchen and is glad Dani ran off Segis because he was putting the moves her too.

Falso goes to see Memo...and asks him to return to work for Dani!

Mac goes to see Lupita and asks what is going on with her. Lupita finally blurts out that she couldn't sleep all night thinking of how he betrayed her mother and the family. As they argue, Amparo overhears Lupita tell Mac that he needs to tell her mother. When Amparo questions what Mac needs to tell her, Lupita once again blurts out that Mac knew the inspector was corrupt because he helped Mac close down the restaurant. CARA IMPACTADA followed by YOU??!!

Memo tells Falso that Karen told him Falso would be coming to ask him to return but he didn't believe her. Falso retorts that Karen told him how Memo had threatened her with a copy of the kiss. When Memo asks what Dani thought about him returning to work, Falso explains that Dani doesn't even know tha he is there; so Memo refuses to go back to work...he will only return if Dani asks him to return.

Amparo tears into Mac and I am enjoying it! Mac pleads that they talk, but Amparo doesn't even want to look at him!!

Falso and Memo exchange insults...and Memo is adamant that he won't return to work unless
Dani asks him to.

Lupita explains that she didn't know what to do because she didn't want to see Amparo crying, but she couldn't keep quiet and lie to her. Mac enters telling Lupita to leave them alone to talk, but Amparo tells Lupita not to leave. When Mac gets huffy, Amparo SLAPS him! and calls him a traitor!

Leo tells Memo and Ursula about he inspector getting arrested. As Memo tells them how Fausto came to ask him to return to work, Lupita runs in asking them to go with her because her parents are fighting!

 

CAMINO Ep 26 Part 2

Amparo continues to lambast Mac who is on his knees. When he tells her that he did it for the family and so that Lupita could go study in the US, Amparo forbids him from using the family as an excuse. They continue fighting and when Amparo walks away, Mac grabs her and has her in a bear hold when Memo and the others approach and tell him to LET HER GO!! After Mac tries to tell them that this is between him and his wife, Amparo blurts out that Mac was in cahoots with the inspector to close down the restaurant!

Aaron returns from his trip and sees Gaby. He insinuates that Falso tends to hire the prettiest girls, Gaby asks him to stop his inappropriate comments. Aaron assures her that he was only complimenting her and leaves. Sebas then approaches and Gaby tries to avoid him, but Sebas tells her that he is worried about Lupita who was very upset and wouldn't tell him anything. Gaby agrees that something is very wrong with Lupita...and now realizes that Sebas really does care about Lupita. Sebas assures her that he really does like Lupita.

The arguing continues at the Santos household. After Memo asks why Mac did this, mac replies that he did it for all the family, but Amparo knows that Mac only wanted the money. Amparo can't listen to the hogwash anymore and leaves to go to the mayor's office!

Leo and Ursula are talking about Mac when Humberto walks in and explains how he know what Mc did and decided to give him a chance. Leo thinks the traitor doesn't deserve anything and should no longer be part of the family!

Mac continues his excuses, but Memo doesn't want to here anymore. Mac tells him that once he marries and has his own family he will understand. Mac pleads that they stop crucifying him, he is regretful...and doesn't want to lose Amparo.

Karen tries to convince Dani to call Memo, but Dani refuses...she will find another assistant. Falso arrives and tells Dani that it would be best that Memo return to work for her.

Leo approaches Mac with a "TRAITOR" sign. Mac grabs it and tears it up. Leo assures him that they may forgive those who betray them, but they won't forget!

Falso continues is dog and pony show to convince Dani to bring back Memo...he is also doing it for Isa. As he talks, Aaron calls to tell him that he was able to get he contracts he wanted. Aaron then tells Falso that the inspector was arrested.

Karen continues her crusade to get Dani to call back Memo. Isa approaches and also pleads that Dani bring back Memo.

The Santos men and Ursula are talking bout Mac hen Amparo arrives back from the mayor's office. She tells them that Mac lied about paying the license, but with the money she had, she was able to pay it and now they can open the restaurant.

Aaron and Falso go visit the inspector at the jail. The inspector assures that he won't talk, but just to make sure, Falso and Aaron give him a beating. the inspector tells them that it's Mac whom they should worry about.

Gaby and Sebas are excited that the restaurant when Falso comes in and wonders what all the hullabaloo is about; so Sebas tells them about the restaurant. After Falso leaves, Gaby explains that she got nervous because Falso will now want to buy the property again. Sebas then suggests that they call JuanPa so they can go celebrate.

Amparo and Humberto have a solemn talk about Mac who needs to prove himself. Amparo doesn't know if she can forgive Mac. Humberto comments about the ups and downs of marriages...and he will always support her in whatever decisions she makes.

Dani goes to the restaurant and as she approaches, she sees Memo and Ursula kissing. She starts to walk away, but when Leo comes out and calls to her, Memo turns and tells Dani that he is happy to see her there. Dani is happy to see him too and she needs to talk to him.

I am so happy Lupita told Amparo the truth, and not by accident but actually made the choice to tell mom the truth! Good for her! And now the restaurant is opening again!!

I hope Mac the Rat doesn't just climb right back out of this one. I really wanted to see Leo go after him, I was disappointed Memo held him back!! That would have been funny I think to watch.

Good for Memo for refusing to come back unless Dani said so, he could have easily jumped at the chance to be close to Isa again, even at Dani's expense; but he did the right thing. That's real dignity of course, despite with Falso says, what does he know about dignity anyway?

Braulio becomes more despicable every day. He had to have tossed Celeste's work records, resumes, pay stubs, etc., to insure that she would have the worst time looking for work. As if her medical condition isn't enough. Not yet sure what fate I would choose for him, but it will be serious.

If anything goes wrong in the Funes household you know that Mati will leave Rayo holding the bag.

Claudia has Flavia's number. This is the one good trait she has and the one thing she has in common with Ester. Jeronimo looks clueless about this but Ester and her friends will see this once they find out that she just told Maximo she wanted a divorce.

Sergio is definitely in some shady business or other and Mirna is an idiot to fall for him.

I'd like to see them tangle long enough for Daniela to catch them in flagrante delicto. They seem to like living dangerously.

While Macario has not thus far physically abused Amparo or their children he doesn't deserve any of them. I was hoping in that scene between Amparo and Humberto we would find out why she didn't hold out for a better choice of husband, but I guess we might still find that out.

Karen has a strong stomach and no scruples at all. She could do so much better than Fausto even if he were single but there must be some rare kink involved for her to not look elsewhere. And/or she is into the one-up(wo)manship games that some vain women like to play against others, including ones they call friends. She will probably end up with the worst karma in this tale.

I'm sure the call Humberto made to the police chief helped in the arrest. I can imaging the police department being fans of Amparo's home cooking.

Rgv Chick, thank you so much for filling in for me after I lost power. Your storytelling is marvelous, and the recap was exceptional. I was able to envision everything in my mind’s eye.

“Falso and Karen meet. The forked tongues collide” had me grinning away. “Amparo knows that Mac only wanted the money. Amparo can't listen to the hogwash anymore” was among my favorites.

While Gaby and Humberto wanted to shield Amparo from Macario’s machinations, it was a bad decision. My heart went out to Lupita whose tender heart couldn’t bear the cruel betrayal of her mother. All credit to her. It sounds as though everyone’s ire is now directed at Macario, as well it should. Sounds like Leo was really fired up! Good!

And yes Darcy, thanfully, the restaurant will reopen!

Fausto despises Memo and I can’t help but wonder how he will tolerate his presence. Ursula is surely going to be angry at having to tolerate Memo’s absence. The clock must be ticking down on the wedding date, right?

So the big question seems to be when Amparo will forgive Macario. I say “when” as I fear it’s still too early in the story for him to be evicted. I hope she makes him crawl through a raging fire first!

So Karen kissed Segis and then made it seem like he made the advances? God, she’s good.

We had no power last night but thanks to your marvelous recap, I felt I missed nothing. You are the master of relating everything in crystalline fashion. This was excellent.

My favorite of many was “it looks like the bloom might be off the rose when she realizes that he could want her to work. HER!” Oh my. Mirna working?? Quelle horreur!!

I had always hoped that Claudia and Ester’s strained relationship would take a turn for the better. “Claudia tells Ester that even if they do not get along very well or are in contact very often, they do love each other lot” and “they hug again; a real hug this time” gave me hope. A true Christmas miracle.

The gifted writers have made a seemingly secondary character critical and crucial to the heart of this storyline. Who is Mati? She is no saint, nor is she likely a (complete) sinner. It is she who is manipulating Rayo, the wizard behind the curtain. “Rayo can live like a ghost because nobody is going to see her” and “They are the same the rejected ones!” confuse me. What is her motivation? What does she want??

“Celeste runs home a get a few of Braulio's hairs so they can have the DNA tests done together”. Yes, nothing cements friendship more than having your husbands’ paternity tests done for the same child.

“Santino says that Misael is never going home”. Did we ever doubt it??

“He smiles saying that Ester knows that he is now all Flavia's. She smiles back”. Jero better smarten up, especially as Flavia is now shedding her husband for what she perceives is someone far worthier.

My highlights were brief and do not reflect how much I enjoyed watching Mac squirm...but he never ceased with the theatrics. I'm so glad Amparo refused to listen to him because he normally gets her to suck in all his lies. Darcy, "I really wanted to see Leo go after him, I was disappointed Memo held him back!! That would have been funny I think to watch." That would have been the cherry on the ice cream!

Urban, "I was hoping in that scene between Amparo and Humberto we would find out why she didn't hold out for a better choice of husband..." I think that Amparo was actually in love with the Rat when they married. She has made several comments to indicate so...she was completely BLIND (and most of the time still is)!

Diana, "Fausto despises Memo and I can’t help but wonder how he will tolerate his presence." It's not going to be pretty, I'm sure! I can see Falso taking every opportunity to harass and belittle Memo...and Memo will put up with it just so he can stay close to Isa.

Thanks for the recap-tivating recap and all the expert analysis.

I was surprised to learn Segismundo was hitting on Chuchita before falling into Karen’s clever trap! What a creep! …and Segismundo is no prize either.

The scene was really quick, but what’s this about Falso always hiring pretty girls? Ugh. He and Aarón deserve each other.

The rat’s out of the bag! Lupita’s reveal is just what our story needed. I’m so glad they didn’t drag this out any further.

Mac deserved every slap and reproach that came his way. If I’m not mistaken, there’s a patio table that cheers when Leo’s hat takes leave. I thought about them as Leo’s head (and rage) were uncovered and on full display.

Despite finally getting some comeuppance, Mac still managed to crack me up when he dramatically tore up Leo’s scarlet letter sign.

With the weight off her shoulders, I hope Lupe forgives and joins Sebaspatán (keeper), JuanPa, and Gabi for a celebration.

Amparo has a tricky road to naviagate. She can’t eliminate Mac completely (for Chema’s sake), and she’s got Eugenio on deck who may finally provide the loyalty and companionship she so greatly deserves.

Yay, Celeste is doing Braulio's DNA test herself. Diana, yep, nothing like two friends together DNA testing their husbands for fooling around ;> -- and I hope you power is back on by now.

Mirna's new beau expects her to work? Ha! But she'll probably give it a try for him, something she wouldn't do for her own family.

When I saw Ivan's flashback, I wondered if he'd had a one-night stand and got this Cynthia pregnant. I'm as bad as Ester jumping to conclusions without proof.

Squee, early Christmas present. I thought we'd have to wait until ultimas semanas. ITA Mac will likely slink his way back in with Amparo, but at least her eyes are wide open. They married young, so I'm guessing Mac had a lot of promise back in the day.
