VENCER LA AUSENCIA #45 Part 1

Notes from the couch . . ." just the facts" edition

Second Flashback of the night:

Several months ago, Ester asks Iván what is wrong. She has noticed how he has been acting and his grades dropped recently. She reminds him that if he wants the scholarship for the exchange student program, he is going to have to get going and apply himself 100%. A somber Iván tells her that he would like to have a novia of his own. He has met this girl. Ester will not have it. He has the rest of his life to fall in love but now he has to concentrate on his studies. She makes him say that he agrees with her. ( Ester is tone deaf once again. )

Rayo is the narrator of a very interesting quote: Sometimes when we have a problem that hurts us and we don't know what to do, we step back and allow it to resolve itself on its own as if it were magic.

Ester tells Max that he is not going to move in with her. He tells her to think about it before she makes her final decision. She later tells Jero about Max's idea. He is shocked. She tells him not to worry because she will take care of it.

Jero tracks the address that Cinthia left behind to a drug house. He finds out from the guy who answers the door that she was a customer. He later looks at a bus schedule for buses going to Guanajuato. I guess this has something to do with Cinthia who is from there if I remember correctly. .He tells Ester about finding out that Cinthia was most likely an addict. Ester says good riddance. Jero doesn't think Cinthia is a monster but a person who made a mistake. He thinks they need to confirm if she is an addict and help her if she is. Ester would rather let things just as they are for the time being with her taking care of Denis.

Celeste expresses her concern about the Funes company and the stability of Braulioi's employment to Ester. She knows he has some money saved but she has no idea how much. Ester tells her everything is done on line these days so Celeste would need his password. Later, she asks Ester to do her a favor. I can only conclude it has something to do with this.

Flavia and Jero travel around their area of the city to see if they can find other places to park their truck. When they get back, Flavia says that Jero looks a bit upset and asks if it has something to do with Ester. She isn't being nosy. . . He isn't sharing.

Julia takes the phone call from Misael pretending it is the husband of a customer. Danny insists it was his father. Angel hears everything and looks like he does not believe Julia even though he doesn't say so. She continues giving Angel the cold shoulder.

Misael calls Julia later and tells her to find a room for him somewhere where he can hide out. He has been found and they are going to kill him. She finds him a room and takes him there. He thinks everything is going to be hunky dory again. She denies his romantic advances. She tells him she wants a divorce. He reminds her that they married to be together forever and adds that if she divorces him, not to expect him to just sit there and do nothing about it. Misael has his buddy act as a spy. After a bad photo, he talks to Teo and finds out that Julia is going out with Angel Funes.

Ana Sofí tells Mirna she got all of her social network accounts back, so she needs to increase her followers. Later, after talking to her father about how to get back at Julia and get Angel back, he suggests she deal with Julia herself. She asks why he is so interested in Misael. He tells her that the money that Misael was carrying that was a loan for Homero to save his company was his. Ana Sofí shows up at the apartment complex. She runs into Flavia who wonders what a classy woman like her is doing there. She explains that she is looking for Julia and if Flavia only knew what she did to her . . .
 

VENCER Part 2

Sergio is on his way trying to make himself indispensable to the Funes family. He tells Homero and Angel he is serious about Mirna. He, also, knows a woman who can be both a housekeeper and a geriatric nurse at the same time. Homero doesn't want to let Armando go but nobody seems to care about what he thinks. He tells Mirna that he is also open to helping Angel out at the Funes Company if they would allow him to . . . Mirna likes that idea.

Rayo is stuck in her room most of the time. It is difficult to get out for food. Mati encourages her to take more food into her room. Rayo evidently takes loads of fruit because at one point in the episode Armando asks Homero where all the fruit went. Homero says he ate it. He had one of his episodes. Sure . . .

Angel wonders if Silvano ever put any money in the Funes company and asks Braulio for old shipping documents to examine. Brauliio assures him that never happened. Braulio tells Angel that he is obsessed with Silvano. Angel says he knows there is a connection with him somewhere. Braulio tells him he is wasting time they do not have. He asks if something personal is going on with him. Angel explains that he thinks that Julia knows where Misael is hiding. Braulio also brings up that soon he will be able to give Angel the name of the "mystery" partner.

Jero parks the food truck with his sons in a questionable neighborhood while he goes off Investigating (?) His sons decide to make some money and start cooking and calling out for customers. They are quickly accosted by the neighborhood gang who make it clear that they need to leave. It is not their turf.

Julia takes Danny to school. Misael shows up.

CAMINO Ep 32 Part 1

Mac the Rat moans and groans that he doesn’t feel well; he thinks he has a fever. After Chema pleads that Amparo let him stay, Amparo agrees to let Max stay until he feels better. After Chema and Amparo leave, Max bites into an habanero chili pepper so that he can perspire.

Lupita goes to Sebas’s house early in the morning and is greeted by Eugenio and Karen. As Eugenio leaves, he asks Lupita to say hello to her mother for him; and he pointedly tells Sebas that he will see him at the construction company. Lupita tells Sebas that she wants him to go with her somewhere but she won’t reveal where. Sebas heartily agrees; he just needs to shower and get dressed…and he gives her a quick kiss on the cheek before going back upstairs.

Memo asserts to Falso that he would never accept any money from them, but Falso thinks that Memo is hiding some other motive behind his good intentions. Memo reiterates that the only thing he wants is that Isa knows that he is her real father. Falso still doesn’t believe him because he is sure that Memo must have taken off running when he found out that he was going to have a daughter. Memo assures him that Olivia never told him that she was pregnant. Falso retorts that is only what Memo says but the facts say otherwise. If Olivia had cancer and couldn’t take care of Isa, then why did she prefer to give up Isa for adoption? Falso then asks if Memo really wants Isa to know the truth—that he left her mother alone right after she gave birth and at the worst time of her life! Memo grabs Falso and counters that is not true!

Ursula struts over to Dani who is sitting in the gazebo. She barks that they need to talk!

At the park, Aaron is pointing his long barreled pistol at Memo but puts it away when a man passes by. Memo tells Falso that it doesn’t matter what he thinks! The only thing that matters is that Isa is HIS daughter and they can’t keep him away from her! When Falso tells Memo that he is not going to allow Memo to get close to Isa, Memo knows that they won’t be getting anywhere with the conversation and starts to walk away, but Falso has one more thing to say—HE is Isa’s father and Isa will never know that an ill-born like him is her father! After Memo leaves, Aaron approaches and Falso tells him that now he knows what Memo looks like and where to find him…but Aaron wants to negotiate first.

When Dani tells Ursula that they have nothing to talk about, Ursula asks, “Not even that Memo is Isabela’s real father? Dani quickly retorts, “Oh, so it’s true that you were the one who told Falso the truth…does (Memo) know that you betrayed him?
Mac continues his charade of being ill. He convinces Amparo that he has a fever; so she will call the doctor and make some chicken soup. As soon as Amparo leaves, Mac celebrates his good performance.

Ursula assures Dani that she loves Memo…and she was only trying to help. Memo couldn’t decide whether to tell the truth and the family was biting their nails knowing that time was running out. With only days left for the wedding, Ursula wants the truth to be known so that Memo would be calm, not nervous. Ursula then drops the bomb—she and Memo are more sure than ever that they want to marry especially now that she is expecting his child! Isa will have a little brother!

Aaron tells Falso that he wants what Falso promised to give him when they planned the accident where his parents died—he wants to be a shareholder in the company. Falso tells him that he will fulfill his promise once he gets his inheritance but Aaron scowls that he will not wait until Isa turns 18! When Falso hisses that Aaron should watch how he talks to him, Aaron counters that it is now Falso who should watch how he talks to him.

Lupita has taken Sebas to his mother's grave since JuanPa told her where it was; and since Sebas told her that he hadn't come because he had no one to come with, she wanted to bring in as a token of appreciation for all he has done for her. Sebas looks at his mother's grave and falters.
 

CAMINO Ep 32 Part 2

Aaron menacingly warns Falso that the trailero could investigate and find out what happened with Olivia. And if Memo finds out that Falso used Olivia and stole her baby, Memo will not stop until he destroys him. Falso assures him that he will keep his promise, but right now his hands are tied since Eugenio has total control of he company. Aaron explains that there is another way...Falso can clear the path for him with Karen...he wants to marry his mistress!

Sebas cries that no one has ever done something like this for him, but he wants to leave. Lupita tries to convince him to stay and talk to his mother, but Sebas insists on leaving.

Ursula twists the knife as she rubs her stomach and tells Dani that when she found out she was pregnant, she realized that she had to help Memo; now she knows the anguish Memo is feeling...and she also understands how Dani is feeling. Memo would have never abandoned his daughter is he had known she existed. Memo has a heart of gold...he is a good man. She and Fausto can be assured that Memo would never take Isa; all Memo wants is for Isa to know that he is her father. Dani argues that she doesn't think its a good time for Isa to find out. Ursula then tells her that it's best that they cooperate...or they will have her to answer to!

Before leaving, Aaron tells Falso that he knew exactly how he felt about Karen and he didn't tell him what was going on between them. And when he finally got her to go out with him, Falso forbade him from seeing her. When Falso tells him that Karen only went out with him to make him jealous, but Aaron cares nothing about Karen. Falso can continue seeing her; all Aaron wants is to make Karen his wife....marrying her will open the world's doors for him. Falso retorts that Karen will never accept him! Aaron tells him that if he doesn't help him, he will lose. Aaron is not going against Faslo but if something happens, all of Falso's secrets will be revealed...it's his life insurance. When Karen accepts him as a husband, then Memo will go POOF!

Gaby approaches Gaby; she just wants to talk to her. Karen comments how she noticed how uncomfortable Gaby was at the dinner...and how horrible it must be to work for Falso. Karen then tells Gaby that she can talk to her any time she wants for Gaby at the dinner.

Karen and Eugenio talk about Sebas who has not shown up to work. Karen comments that Sebas is only interested in his social life. When Eugenio comments that Sebas is trying to change and how good his relationship with Lupita has been for Sebas, Karen thinks that Sebas will drop Lupita once he gets what he wants...the only girl whom her brother has been interested in is Estefania. Eugenio hopes Karen is wrong...he will not allow Sebas to hurt Lupita.

Sebas talks to his mother has he holds her picture. He tells her that he drinks so as to drown the pain he has had since she left. He wishes she were there to hug him and tell him all will be well. He needs her...he loves her and he misses her.
 

CAMINO Ep 32 Part 3

Memo has told Ursula about his meeting with Falso...he didn't accept his offer...and he wanted to tear him into pieces. Memo felt humiliated...and doesn't know what to do. When Ursula insists that he get an lawyer, Memo vehemently refuses--he will not have his daughter surrounded by lawyers asking her a thousand questions!

Dani confronts Falso about Ursula telling him the truth about Isa...Karen told her. Falso tries to argue about Karen, but Dani wants to know why he didn't tell her that it was Ursula who told him. Falso makes some sorry excuse about Ursula making him promise that he would not rat on her. When Dani tells him that Ursula came to talk to her, Falso tells her that she should have run her off, but Dani needs to know what it is that Memo wants. Falso tells her that the trailero wants money....he met with Memo who pretended to be dignified but he is just holding out for more money. Dani thinks that things can get resolved differently...but Falso thinks that Dani doesn't realize how serious things are...so he is sending her and Isa out of the country!

Eugenio arrives hom and chides Sebas for not showing up to work. Sebas cries that he was at the cemetery at his mother's grave...where she is because of Eugenio! His mother is under the earth and not with him. Eugenio grabs and hugs him, but Sebas cries that he is drowning in pain...because he needs her. Eugenio won't let go of Sebas even though Sebas yells to let him go! Sebas tells his father that he lost his mother and it was his fault. Part of him left with his mother, the best part of his life and he (Eugenio) killed her! Eugenio asks that Sebas forgive him. When Sebas yells that his mother cared about him, Eugenio knows and again pleads that Sebas forgive him…because he cannot forgive himself. Sebas agonizingly yells out in anguish and pain.

Ursula continues to try to convince Memo to fight for his daughter, but Memo refuses to get anyone else involved in this and definitely not a lawyer! When Ursula insists that a lawyer could help him resolve this, Memo retorts that it would be like declaring war against Daniela. Ursula argues that then all is this is not because because of Isa, it’s because of that lizard that Memo is stopping himself (from getting an attorney)! Memo thinks that doing things peacefully is best, but Ursula points out that a mother will get fiercely for her child…and he will lose his daughter! They are probably already planning to blast him.

Dani refuses to run away like a criminal...she is not gong to take Isa out of school. She does worry about Isa...she will take care of her daughter...and they don't need to leave. When Falso asks what she will do if Memo takes Isa and tells her the truth, Dani doesn't think Memo would do that. Memo could have taken Isa at any moment and he never showed that intention. Falso thinks that they are wasting time; and hopes that Dani will be able to handle it if Memo does take their daughter.

Eugenio takes Sebas some coffee and asks if he is feeling better. Sebas apologizes to his father but Eugenio thinks he is the one who should apologize. He sometimes forgets how sensitive they can be, but alcohol is not the answer, it won’t help him get rid of the pain. Sebas reflects that sometimes the pain is so great and intense that he wishes he could just switch it off. Eugenio advises that the best way to deal with the pain is to focus on the positive things in his life. When he adds that Lupita is good for him, Sebas agrees then apologizes for the things he said...he is ashamed of himself. Eugenio assure him that all is forgotten and adds that should stay home, but Sebas wants to go in to work…he needs to be responsible, but he needs Eugenio’s help. Eugenio assures him that he can count on him.
 

CAMINO Ep 32 Part 4

Memo and Leo are talking when Dani enters the restaurant and wants to talk to Memo..in private.

Gaby is at work and fumbling with some blueprints as Falso yells at her to go to his office. When she takes a few seconds, Falso comes and yells at her...he doesn't want explanations...he wants her in his office NOW!! Once in his office, Falso cruelly insults her calling her incompetent and lazy...he is not firing her, but he will be on her, watching her and catching all her mistakes. He then gives her a long list of things that he wants...before she leaves for the day! When Gaby leaves in tears, Falso hisses that the war is just beginning and his (Memo's) niece will pay for it.

Karne and Sebas ask Gaby what happened since they could hear all the yelling. Sebas wants to go talk to Falso but Gaby thinks it will only make things worse. As Karen tells Sebas to help Gaby do everything Falso asked for, Aaron passes by and tells Karen to stop playing him.

Karen follows Aaron to his office and asks what is wrong with him. Aaron reveals that he knows about her and Falso; she is wasting time with Falso who will never leave his wife. When Karen tells him that he seems to know a lot of personal things about his boss, Aaron tells her that he knows more that she thinks...he knows all of Falso's secrets...even the darkest ones. He knows things that would leave her frozen; knowledge is power!

Dani asks Memo what his intentions are…why is he doing this, why didn’t he tell her the truth since the start. Memo wonders what she expected him to do—knock on her door and tell he that he is Isa’s father I want to know her?? Dani didn’t expect that but She didn’t have to pretend that he was looking for a job! He used her and he made her think that she could trust him and she opens her heart to him! Memo explains that when he got to her house he had no intention of getting a job there, but there was a misunderstanding and it was an opportunity for him to get to know his daughter. And if he didn’t tell her he was Isa’s father, it was because he had to confirm it first. He then tells he that he never lied about his feelings; every special moment was real and true. Dani has difficulty believing him. Memo knows he messed up badly and apologizes, but he swears on his mother's memory that right now he is speaking with the truth! When she asks if the DNA test was a lie, Memo assures her it was valid but he is willing to go right now and have the test redone. Dani doesn’t know what to think anymore and cries. Memo then shows her the letter that Olivia wrote before dying.

Rgv Chick, your insightfully crafted summary was superb. I did not understand so much that transpired and am so appreciative of the light you shed on all the unsettling events tonight. Your clever writing lends such descriptive vibrancy. “Ursula twists the knife as she rubs her stomach and tells Dani that when she found out she was pregnant, she realized that she had to help Memo; now she knows the anguish Memo is feeling...and she also understands how Dani is feeling” was raw and powerful.

“Ursula struts over to Dani who is sitting in the gazebo. She barks that they need to talk!” made me smile and was also ne of my favorites.

The few bright moments were Macario eating the hot pepper; using the old school trick of putting the thermometer on a light bulb; and moaning to Amparo how he was suffering! Then, the second she left the room, he kicks off the covers, and watches a fight on TV, nice and comfy!

I also smiled at Karen making little fluttering hearts motions to Sebastian behind Lupita’s back. Who would have guessed she has some personality??

My heart went out to Daniela. She’s been lied to, cheated on and victimized by Fausto and sickeningly, also by Ursula. She not only feels Memo has betrayed her but is not further heartbroken as she thinks Ursula is pregnant! And to make the situation even worse, she unknowingly has been used and abused by Karen, her lifelong friend and confidant.

Fausto wanting to send Daniela and Isa out of the country was laughable.

Fausto’s monster has come to life. Although I agree with Fausto on nothing else, I think he is right when he says Karen will never accept Aaron. Aaron may think he has everything figured out but he is underestimating his opponents. Especially Karen. So now we know Fausto was responsible for his parents’ accident. I wonder what else will come to light

I hope Sebastian can put the past behind him and that the reconciliation with Eugenio lasts. Btw, who is Estefania? If we’ve heard of her before, I don’t remember.

Jarifa, your summary was excellent. Your care and attention was crucial in providing additional insight into our characters, what they know and also, what they don’t. It was revelatory, but for some, not at all flattering.

I can’t quite fault Ester for not being kinder to Ivan when he spoke about meeting “a girl”. It would have been nice if she had encouraged him and drew him out on how he was feeling. But her attitude toward Cinthia of “good riddance” and that she ”would rather let things just as they are for the time being with her taking care of Denis” was stone cold. Cinthia is the mother of her grandson; didn’t she warrant the least bit of concern?

Celeste seemingly has no idea about her husband’s finances. Braulio continues to sit back as Angel sinks deeper into debt and trouble. “Braulio tells him he is wasting time they do not have” taunting his big reveal is coming shortly. Could he possibly be the “mystery partner?”.

Misael professes people are going to kill him but instead of hiding, shows up at Dani’s school. Julia’s lies grow in number as she shields Misael’s return to the growing dismay of Angel.

“Homero doesn't want to let Armando go but nobody seems to care about what he thinks” was a shame. Rayo is still roaming the house, undetected save for Homero as the women continue to go about their lives rather than determining to see where Rayo is and who is with her.

Sergio is “trying to make himself indispensable” was perfect Jarifa! Moving at lightning speed to conquer vain, gullible Mirna and then trying to insert himself into the family business was sheer gaul. “Mirna likes that idea”. Of course she does, no shock there.

Diana, I, too, was not pleased with Ester’s cold attitude towards Cinthia. Her attachment to her grandson is clearly not healthy. Jero’s comments on the Cinthia/Denis situation are the only logical and healthy ones she is getting.

It looks like Jero is still playing detective out there in reference to Cinthia. I wonder if he will track her down.

Could Sergio be Santino’s plant? At first, I didn't think so but then last night he started offering his services to the Funes comoany.

Okay, so Silvano was the source of the loan money. No surprise there.

Misael was downright creepy. If only Julia would decisively act and inform the police of his location and file for divorce. I don’t want to hear the “Danny” excuse. At least, Angel saw the writing on the wall. Julia is a bad liar.

Will Celeste find out how much is in Sergio’s bank account? If it isn’t joint, she should be wondering if it has a beneficiary. Celeste is still so passive even though that seems be changing little by little.

"Misael was downright creepy". Wasn't he? I know I'm repeating myself but really, what did Julia EVER see in him? And yes, Danny is no longer an excuse. I don't think Misael will be safe anywhere but Julia needs to remove herself, her son and her family from danger.

Similarly, Braulio is cringeworthy as well. What a weasel. "Celeste is still so passive even though that seems be changing little by little" is exactly right!

So much to be sorted out.

Thank you Rgv Chick for providing all the details! I missed so much watching distracted as usual! I didn’t see Macario eat the pepper I bet that was funny!

I hate everything about Falso, the man is just repulsive! It occurs to me that it must be excellent acting but it’s hard to appreciate it when you just want to mute the TV every time he appears! He is just such a manipulative little troll and now he’s going to torment Gabby next??? Yuck

Speaking of excellent acting, the scene where Sebas breaks down over his mom was so well done and powerful!

I actually laughed out loud when Dani said she and Karen have no secrets!!! Lol so sad

I need something more uplifting, we all do; please writers don’t make us languish here in this space for too many more episodes!! It’s too bleak! Luckily I have the downright silliness of Corazón Guerrero to balance it. All kinds of goofy going on over there!

Well, I guess that’s all for now. I am too sleepy today can’t think of anything else to say! Lol

Mac is such a scumbag, it’s almost funny. And Amparo falls for his lies every time! So aggravating!

From what I recall, Estafania is the girl that broke Sebas’s heart.

I wonder how long it’s been since Sebas’s mother passed. His pain seems so fresh. And we reall t need more back story on how/why she died. Why is Eugenio blaming himself. I too hope that Sebas can find some peace and acceptance and that the reconciliation lasts.

Thanks, Jarifa. I'm always amazed how you cover the action so quickly.

I'm wondering if Ivan was referring to another girl, not Cinthia, in the flashback. He and Cinthia had party sex one time, but not even a budding relationship.

We don't know about Jero's upbringing and life before he married Lenar, but it seems he's experienced a lot. Ester is naíve to think that if Cinthia is an addict this wouldn't jeopardize Dennis. Diana, ITA about Ester's "stone cold" reaction. This girl is the mother of her grandson and is sick if she's an addict. She could at least try to help.

Ana Sofi and Mirna were good for a laugh. I chuckled as Ana Sofi blabbed on about her issues, completely ignoring Mirna's blah-blah-blah about Sergio.

Julia, you just got proof again that trusting anything about Misael is a mistake.

Darcy, I second your motion that the writers not languish in this space. Too much sadness last night.

On the good front, Dani realized Ursula betrayed Memo and she's not listening to Falso.

Aaron's proposition was a shocker. How in blazes can he/Falso/anyone get Karen to marry him? There's nothing in it for Karen, accept sticking it to Falso.

..."Sebas’s... pain seems so fresh". Yes it does Rgv Chick. Sebas is far more sensitive than we might have thought when this began. Some children are never able to overcome their grief for a beloved parent. I'm relieved though that Eugenio wouldn't leave him and stayed to comfort him.

Darcy, I share your disgust with Fausto but loved "manipulative little troll." We need more happy Isa, Chema and anyone who will make us laugh - even a smile. we are desperate!

Niecie, yes, Aaron seems to have given the idea that Karen would ever consider marrying him insufficient thought to say the least. WTH???

I am anxious to see how long and what it will take for Memo and Daniela to reunite. I hope it's soon.

Niecie, great point about Jero. Maybe we will get more of his backstory that will show what made him the man he is. Looking at the cast of characters, he is one of the few that seems to be pretty normal.

I don't quite get Misael. He never really wanted this marriage and now he is like 'you're not leaving unless I say so'. It's like he wants to get back at her for being miserable? Or is it that he thinks she's his property. But the whole 'it's because I'm a man' speech is a bit funny because it's so stupid. It's both funny and sad that marriage is stillconsidered to be some kind of 'achievement' even if you end up with a fool like that. I wonder what situation is like in Mexico now.But doesn't Misael want to be rid of Julia?
Ester is just as obsessively controling as hear mummy dearest. I'm a bit suprised she thought Ivan would tell her everything just because she is his mother and because she kept such a tight hold on him. She doesn't much like Gero's opinion when it's not the same as hers I believe. I find her very unlikable even in those flashbacks. Geronimo isn't very luck when it comes to women he falls in love with. The same goes for Maximo.
Mirna's desperation is hard to watch. It's one of those character traits that makes any woman very unattractive. Sergioknows how to use it- just disappear for a bit and she starts to miss you.
Rodolfo with his 'Misael is his father' line was annoying. The older characters in these shows are so determined to see everyone stay in their marriages and always say the 'he is your father' bit. In a way it's funny coming from Rodolfo, given that he apparently didn't like Misael. So lets put his granson in danger just so his dear papa could see him.

waterlily, I agree with everything you said about our cast of characters but I will add that Max is no great prize either. He sees to be operating in his own universe thinking that he and Ester can be "just roommates" so he can be close to his grandson. I wonder if Ester will ever realize that she is just like her mother: rigid to the core. Iván had to feel so alone in his dilemma with her for a mother.

I wonder how long Macario will have to beg before Amparo takes him back. It annoys me she isn't quite sure she wants him out of her life. Her father's insistence that all marriages have problems doesn't help as this just makes it seem that even this isn't enough to end things. How would anyone believe Ursula's nonsense? 'wanted Memo to be calm'... She should have come up with something better. But then betrayal rarely has a good excuse so... Every time Macario is in a scene with one of his women, I get an urge to strangle him. I hope Amparo soon learns of his other woman because I just don't think I could take it if Amparo decided to forgive him. Then Daniela and Amparo could start a club called 'free women's society' or something.

Waterlily, yes Macario is definitely strangleworthy!! :)

It would be nice if Amparo would just wake up one day and decide to leave Macario. But he manages to crawl his way back in, every time.

However, I HAVE to believe that once Amparo learns Macario is cheating on her and worse has been cheating on her for decades and has fathered someone else's child, that will be the straw that finally breaks her back. I hope she leaves him sooner but if not, I am fairly sure this will be the final betrayal.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Holiday travel is finally complete, and our story keeps on rollin’! I hope the patio had a wonderful holiday time!

Thanks Rgv Chick for capturing all the action. All the patio comments and analyses keep the show fun even though things are really bleak.

It appears they are tying to give Karen a little personality lately. Last week she was almost human - teasing Eugenio about Amparo, and last night her needling of Sebaspatán (still a keeper) with the fluttering heart motions was sweet. She was even empathetic with Gaby. Nevertheless, this is hardly enough to stop the huge anvil she has coming. A marriage to Aarón, while totally unbelievable, would be a nice start to her suffering.

While she gains personality, Falso has lost all likability and is operating like a humorless tyrant. I hope the writers take us back to fun times. Mark Tacher & Alberto Estrella are both capable of making despicable behavior entertaining. Enough with the dreary and teary; bring back the cheery!!!

Sebas & Eugenio really outdid themselves last night. The scream of anguish was haunting, and I may be convinced that Leonardo Daniel is finally playing a good guy. Fingers crossed. Then again, he didn’t defend himself or correct Sebas’ murder accusations. This is the second mention (at least) of Estefania. Will she show up or stay off camera like the enigmatic Corcueras?!!

Amparo has been consistently blind to Mac’s most vile machinations, but the beanie is getting real snug. While entertaining, she really fell for the chili sweats & lamp’s temperature and thinks chicken caldo will cure this creep?!! I wanted her to snatch that hot thermometer and make him squeal.

O.S. your "punishment" for Karen that "A marriage to Aarón, while totally unbelievable, would be a nice start to her suffering" had me smiling. But of course Karen is irredeemable and even that is too light a sentence.

I had the feeling Eugenio felt it was best to let Sebastian vent this time rather than contradicting him that he really was not culpable for his wife's death. Leonardo plays bad well but I'm enjoying him in "good" role here, rather cast against type.

"Enough with the dreary and teary; bring back the cheery!!!" Excactly! Let the laughter begin.

VENCER #46 Part 1

Notes from the couch . . .

1. At the start, we have a preview which will be completed in scene #34. Angel confronts Julia as she leaves Misael's place. He asks her what she is doing with Misael in there. When she says nothing but looks guilty, Angel says that her silence has told him all he needs to know. She asks if he has been following her.

2. Julia: "There are situations that are so predictable that we, from the beginning, know how they are going to end no matter how we try to deny it."

3. Julia doesn't know how Misael could have taken the risk of coming to the school. People could know him. It is too dangerous., Danny wants to go with his dad. Ana Sofí is making her way down the sidewalk as Julia tells Misael to get out of there with Danny.

4. Braulio advises Angel to find out the truth if he has suspicions about Julia. He makes a point that no matter what happens, Misael will always be Danny's father and family. Angel admits he gave up on investigating Misael because of Julia. He is having a hard time believing that Julia is not being honest with him.

5. Jero comes to the aid of his sons telling the gang member that they are not there to do business. He is only there looking for a person. They tell him and his sons are in the wrong place. They have drawn their knives and also have tire irons and bats.

6. Ester is getting some reports off of Braulio's desk for Angel when she finds Braulio's bank statement and quickly puts it in a folder. Braulio and Angel arrive. She gives some reports to Angel. Ester is grateful that Angel is allowing her to bring Danny to work until she can get daycare settled for him. When Angel leaves, Braulio warns her that she is taking advantage of Angel and he is going to soon tire of her.

7. Ana Sofí tells Julia she is there to ask her to stay away from Angel so they can her pleasant about it all. She asks if she is in love with Angel. Well, that would make her an adulterer since she is married to someone who is alive, dead or maybe back in town. Misael makes small talk with Danny as he watches the women from across the street. Misael tells his son that he and his mother have always been the best team. Danny says there is one more person on the team: Angel. He adds that his mother, him and Angel became a team to find him.
 

VENCER 8. As the situation with Jero and his sons is about to turn into a deadly assault, Cinthia runs in to save the day. She says that Jero is her uncle. The gang leaves. Jero tells Cinthia he has to talk to her.

9. Julia tells Danny to go into his classes. He wants to stay with his father. Misael says this isn't exactly university. Danny whines. Julia gives in just this once. They are going to the park. Julia says they need to talk about their son. Misael wants to know why Angel's novia is talking to her.

10. Ester calls Celeste and tells her she has the bank statement. Should she bring it to her or return it to Braulio's office? Celeste feels like seeing that statement could mark another era in her relationship with Braulio, so she wants to see it in person.

11. Angel tells Ester that he has never heard of a Mexican Denis. She explains that his mother picked the name but she is thinking changing it. (REALLY???? talk about somebody out of touch and obliterating a person's identity)

12. Rayo slips out of the house as Homero complains to Mirna and Sergio that he is the one being taken care of, so he should be the one who gets to make the final decision on his caretaker. He understands that they think he is unable to do that. Armando says no worries, he can always come visit him. Mirna tells Armando that he will have to clear that with her first. Homero complains that when he is in his right mind he has the right to have an opinion. Sergio tries to tell him that they are only looking out for him. Homero tells Armando that he has become a friend and he will miss him. Armando will miss him , too, but he thinks this is for the best. Mirna agrees.

13. At the park, Misael demands to know why Ana Sofí was looking for Julia. Does it have something to do with her novio Angel? He found out a lot when he worked at Funes. She says Ana Sofí is an influencer and she wants to get into virtual clothing sales so she asked her to help her. Misael wants to know about the "team" thing. She says she already told him. She was working with Angel trying to find him. Angel remembered all the money that disappeared with him. Misael blames the Funes for his situation.

14. Jero talks to Cinthia telling her that leaving her son with Ester is not the answer. She tells him that Denis will be much better off with Ester. She has more important things going on than to be a mother. Jero says she could use some professional help. Angrily, Cinthia says that she likes the life she leads and needs no help. She tells him not to come looking for her. Jero insists she take his phone number if she ever needs help one day.

15. Ana Sofí says that she couldn't find out any info out about Misael from Julia. She did find a woman that lives in the complex who could be an ally and let her know what is going on with Julia and the family.
 

VENCER Part 3

16. Angel tells Ester that she and Julia have a lot in common with both of them having a young child to support. He asks Ester how close Julia was with Misael. Would she hide him? She has no idea. Angel would like to think not but . . . Armando interrupts them to let Angel know that Mirna fired him. He came by to say goodbye. Angel is not pleased.

17. As Mirna spins a fantasy of her and Sergio, Homero asks if she might not be moving a bit fast with Sergio. Mirna says after you are thirty, nothing is too fast.

18. Rayo visits with Mati and her minion. She hands over some jewelry. Mati likes it. Rayo says she is not going to be robbing anymore. Mati shushes her. Teo texts Mati to get together.

19. Angel tells Armando he wanted to tell him himself but Mirna beat him to it. Armando understands and says they treated him very well in the house. Angel assures him that he will pay him every last cent he owes him. Zac comes barging in right past Ester. Zac thinks it is fortunate to hear that money is being discussed because he is there for his. Angel tells him he cannot just stop on by to threaten him any time he feels like it. Armando thinks it is better he leave. Zac asks him what he is doing there. Angel asks if Zac and Armando know each other. Armando says Zac must be mistaken and leaves. Angel doesn't believe him and asks Zac where he knows Armando from. Zac says he doesn't and wants to know where his money is.

20. Back at his place, Misael tells Danny that he must be sure that he tells nobody that he has come back. Danny asks not even Angel. No, not even Angel.

21. Zac threatens Angel and his whole family if he doesn't get his money. He leaves and Braulio arrives. Braulio reminds him if they got that money that Misael had they wouldn't be in this mess. Angel doesn't need to be reminded of that. He should've followed Julia but it didn't seem right. He starts to tell Braulio about Zac and Armando maybe knowing each other but then stops.

22. Ester gives Celeste the folder with the bank statement hoping for the best. Celeste says no matter what, it was her decision. Ester hopes that this is the beginning of Celeste waking up because Braulio always has controlled her. Ester leaves and Celeste picks up the folder.
 

VENCER Part 4

23. Ana Sofí sees what Julia has on line for the Illusion clothing brand. Ana Sofí says they can agree about how great the brand is but she is going to beat Julia at her own game with more style and more followers! She starts with streaming herself in her new workout outfit from Illusion! She is even wearing their underwear!

24. Gina sees the stream and calls Ana Sofí a copycat. She goes to send her a message but stops.

25. Mati meets Teo for their "date". He is way out of his depth. She pats him on his face like a dog. He wants to take her to the movies but she says she only does that with her novio; so maybe some day but today. She does need her money so she can buy what she wants. He hands over the money and gets a kiss on the cheek. Teo is mesmerized.

24. Angel tracks down Julia at the apartment complex and confronts her. He wants to know why she is doing everything to not have a conversation with him. He asks if she is doing okay. She says she is and he need not worry. He is worried because she is important to him. Julia repeats what she said the other day. She is having family problems, nothing else. He pins her down saying since she is referring to "family" she must be talking about Misael. She lies saying it has nothing to do with him. It is other things that she doesn't want to get into. She tells him to calm down because everything is okay. Angel apologizes for bothering her and coming to question her but he cannot go on without knowing how she is doing. He goes to kiss her but she asks him not to kiss her there. He thanks her for talking to him and she finally thanks him for worrying about her. She looks sad again as he leaves.

25. Ester tells Jero that she will be taking Denis to childcare tomorrow. It is going to be hard. Jero thinks that Denis will surely love his teachers. Anyway, she is convinced that Denis is in the best possible place with her. Jero agrees but adds it is "for the moment." Jero wonders if it might not be a good idea to contact Cinthia's parents and let them know what is going on. Ester tells him to forget about that. This is her decision and she has made it. He needs to respect that.

26. In the presence of Homero, Angel tells Mirna that the Armando decision was not hers to make. It should have been made between all of them . She says that Sergio found one employee to replace two. Who did Angel find??? Angel makes it clear that he is not against her or Sergio but his father was used to Armando and now he has to get used to another person one more time. Homero tells them both to cut it out. They talk about him as if he were not there. Mirna makes fun of him. Homero has had it. They make decisions that affect him without consulting him. Angel informs Mirna that their father has a point and she reacts like a whiny dog.

27. Rayo texts Mati. She is worried that the new employee in the house could catch her. Mati says that is a chance. Maybe they need to start looking for another house. Rayo looks sad. Teo excitedly texts Rayo about being out with Mati and maybe they will be novios!
 

VENCER Part 5

28. The next morning as Julia takes Danny to school, Flavia appears to remind her that she needs her payment. Misael calls her and she ignores the call. Danny wonders if it is his dad. Flavia also tells Julia that this guy Compaye was asking Teo for information about her and some Angel Funes. Julia says there is no time for gossip and tries to get moving when Angel arrives. Danny runs into his arms. Angel offers to go with them to school. Julia says no, they can go other own. They leave and Flavia turns to Angel identifying him as the "famous Angel." She says he is so nice and adds that she thinks Julia is covering for her husband. She explains that Julia's phone just rang and Danny asked if it was his dad. Then there was one of Misael's friends who was coming around and asking about him. (Angel)

29. Max comes to see Jero and Ester about wanting to move into the apartment . Jero says he heard about it but he does not agree. He and Ester are a couple. Max says to Jero that he still could be a couple even if he weren't living there and starts a fight about him and Ester. Ester shocks Jero when she tells Max the truth about them not being a couple. As long as she can stay in the apartment with Denis, there is no reason to lie about their relationship. Jero looks like he has been hit in the head by a 2X4.

30. Julia asks why Misael keeps calling her. He is making her his accomplice. She doesn't want to have to lie to the people she cares about. As he is drinkng a beer, he supposes that means Angel. She says yes, him, her friends, her family and then there is their son. He agrees and asks her to come by so they can decide what to do. He wants her to come now. She wasn't planning on it . He says that she needs to put herself in his place. She agrees to go. What she doesn't know is that Angel is following her.

31. Celeste goes to the bank to arrange that her bank statements are sent to her phone. She says that the account is in her and Braulio's name. The banker tells her there are two accounts in Braulio's name.

32. Ester explains why she and Jero decided to pose as a couple. It was too outfox Flavia and prevent her from throwing her out of the apartment. Ester tells Max and Jero that it was time to be honest all the way around. Jero agrees and announces that he will be moving. She apologizes to Jero that things ended up like this but what is done is done. Flavia comes knocking at the door with food truck business. Jero answers the door and she sees Ester and Max. She wonders why everyone looks so serious. Jero announces he is moving out because Max is moving in. Jero leaves. Flavia goes after him.

33. At Misael's, he is telling Julia that he seeks her out because he misses her. She is his life. She tries to tell him that there is nothing more between them. She only wants a divorce and to be over with it all. He tells her that their son is going to suffer. They could have such a nice family. They could start fresh somewhere else far away. She says life isn't that easy. He needs to answer for what happened. He blames it all on the damn Funes family.

34. Julia leaves and we are at the BEGINNING OF THE EPISODE. Yes, Angel admits to have followed her. He did it to prove that she was lying to him and she never trusted him. She tries to defend herself but he is in no mood to listen. She made a fool out of him. He leaves and she runs after him.

35. Since everyone is being honest and they are partners, Jero tells Flavia the truth about him and Ester, too. She looks surprised.

36. Celeste visits Braulio at work. She is angry. How is it that he has an account that she knew nothing about? She also found out that he also put a down payment down on a house just days ago.


 

VENCER Part 6

37. Julia catches up to Angel but he has had it. He honestly doesn't want to hear anything from her. He acknowledges he made a mistake when he idealized her. If only he had never gone out with her or come back to run the Funes company. He tells her it is best that what barely started between them ends right there.

"Even if at the beginning of something, we have the idea that it might not last, we always have the hope it can work."

That is it. Please feel free to add anything I left out.
 

VENCER

What an episode!

I couldn't believe how cavalierly Ester treated Jero having to move out now that she could get to live in HER apartment with her grandson when he did her such a big favor allowing her to live there with him so she wouldn't have to leave the apartment. Jero needs to find some other woman who will treat him decently. Ester is almost worse than Flavia because Flavia makes no bones about who she is. What you see is what you get.

Julia was another female acting badly. I was so happy when Angel called her on her lying about Misael and wouldn't listen to her excuses. Misael needs to be questioned about Angel's missing money.

At least Celeste followed through on her and Braulio's finances.

More mañana.
 

Camino #33 Part 1

A distraught Daniela confronts Memo asking a series of rhetorical “why” questions. Why did he do everything he did; why didn’t he tell her the truth at the beginning. Memo asks what she expected him to do; knock on the door and say, hi, I’m Isabela’s father? He vehemently denied he was looking for a job, he merely seized the opportunity when it presented itself so he could get to know his daughter. He didn’t tell Daniela about Isa initially as he hadn’t received the DNA results yet. He is willing to get tested again, Daniela needs only to say the word. He swears on his late mother’s memory, passionately and honestly that everything he told her, everything he felt was the truth. Tears cascade down both of their cheeks as he offers Olivia’s letter to her to read. After, she apologizes to Memo; she had no idea. When he asks if she believes him now, she has to admit, she is so confused! Dani replied that she will have trouble believing in him The only thing transparently clear to her is that whatever could have been between them has ended. Memo adds that, sadly, it ended before it began. Dani thinks none of this should ever have happened. She asks if his wedding is still on and admits she knows Ursula is pregnant and offers sad congratulations. Memo confirms the wedding is going to proceed. Dani then tells him that Fausto is completely against telling Isabela that Memo is her father. Memo gently tells Dani that Fausto offered him money to forget about Isa; but Dani is not surprised. Memo tells her that he doesn’t care what Fausto thinks, he only cares what Dani thinks…is she willing that Isabela be told he is her father?

Karen makes a round of brief office appearances. First, it’s Aaron’s. Aaron strokes Karen’s hand as she tries to get him to confide in her and spill one of Fausto’s secrets. But Aaron is locked up tighter than a safe, he would be risking his life if he revealed any secrets. Fausto trusts him and won’t betray him (fool!) Karen tries to put on her best come hither look purring she wants to get to know Aaron better. She invites him to call her so they can go out for a drink and “talk”. Aaron doesn’t take the unspoken “bait”, he has too much work. With that Karen makes a kissy face, leaves and strides off purposefully into Fausto’s office.

Karen wants to know why Fausto told Aaron about them. Fausto smirks that it’s her own fault because she was the one who sent him the picture of them kissing. He forbade Aaron from seeing her and had to explain why. Karen tells him she will go out with Aaron as many times as she wants. Fausto thinks it’s a good idea she goes out with Aaron…but she’s better not sleep with him because you are mine, he declares…slimy kissing and clutching ensue.

Dani tells Memo that she doesn’t want Isa to suffer. Memo can wait until Isa is older…he doesn’t want to hurt her either. Ursula comes in during all of this and asks if she is interrupting, knowing full well she is. Dani stands up, gathering her hurt as she tries to make her expression impassive and tells her no. Memo says they haven’t finished talking but Dani disagrees, telling him yes, they were done. Daniela leaves with all the dignity she can muster.

A livid Ursula asks why “that woman” was there! Memo replies that Dani wanted him to confirm that what he said was true.

Isa watches Chuchita work on Ursula’s (frilly) wedding dress. Isa smiles and wants Chuchita to make her dress when she gets married!

Camino #33 Part 2

Macario is still lounging in bed, reading but when Amparo suddenly enters, he hides the magazine under the covers and pulls the blankets tightly around him (what a faker!) Amparo feels his head for signs of a fever as he takes her finger and traces it along his face. The mood is broken as Amparo snaps she wants him to get better – so he can leave!

Outside, Ursula asks Dani if she ratted her out. Dani denies it. She doesn’t want to cause problems for Ursula; she needs to be calm during her pregnancy…the first three months are the most difficult.

Leo asks Dani how Isa is and Dani responds (rather stiffly) that she is fine. Amparo kindly tells Dani this is not easy but wants her to know she and her niece will always be welcome there; they are family. Dani looks grateful and hugs her with a smile through her tears. Adios.

Karen hopes Fausto is in a less foul mood…so he can treat Gaby better. Fausto tells her that Gaby is as big a liar as her uncle; those filthy commoners are all the same and they will never take his daughter. Karen taunts that if Isa likes Memo now, she will be even closer to him when she finds out he is her father. Fausto tells her to shut up.

Fausto tells Aaron that he will help him get Karen and that he can kill Memo on his own. Aaron is not scared of death but he is afraid of Fausto because he is evil but he is no murderer. He warns that if something happens to Memo, he will reveal all his secrets.

Chaos at the front desk ensues. Fausto not only does not let up, he unleashes a verbal torrent of torment on a tearful Gaby, reaming her out, demanding she finish everything and leave it on his desk. Ahh, but the cavalry, in the form of JuanPa, Lupita and Sebastian arrive and just in the nick of time!

Amparo tells Memo things are not as bad as they assumed since Dani came here…she must be looking for a peaceful way to resolve things. Memo fervently hopes they can reach an agreement. Amparo tells him not to insist on seeing Isa because they may take drastic measures…even going so far as to leave the country! (Viewerville applauds Amparo’s shrewdness). Amparo then tells Memo Ursula is showing her wedding dress pictures. Memo contacts Chuchita who texts him, assuring that all is well at the house.

Camino #33 Part 3

Fausto slithers to Karen’s; he is desperate and doesn’t know what to do! Why did she tell Daniela about Ursula being in his office? Why is she working against him? He thought he could count on her and he needs to know if he still can. Karen smoothly purrs that she has been in love with him all her life. He is everything she murmurs as she takes his jacket off and starts kissing him. In the meantime, Sebastian has brought the party home. When Fausto realizes his jacket is missing, Karen goes down for it. Sebas has it and holds it just out of her reach, asking if she has someone with her. She denies it and lies that the jacket belongs to a client who left it in her car. She grabs it and leaves, returning to her bedroom where she and Fausto get horizontal ON the bed! 😊

Fausto needs Karen’s help in keeping the trailero from his family, especially Dani. She needs to stop talking well about Memo and convince Dani that Memo is only after money and is capable of kidnapping their daughter!

Before the unholy coupling goes any further, another guest arrives. Surprise! It’s Daniela, asking for Karen. Sebas welcomes her saying Karen is upstairs but warns Dani that Karen may be with someone. Soon, there is a knock on the door and we hear Dani’s voice announcing herself and asking if she is interrupting anything! Yes, the patio answers loudly and your timing couldn’t have been better! Alas, the characters do not hear us and Fausto furiously motions to Karen to be quiet. After Karen pulls herself and her wardrobe together, Fausto rolls under and hides under the bed.

Dani enters a bit hesitatingly and immediately notices the two glasses of red wine. She looks at Karen questioningly and makes the number 2 with her fingers, Dani doesn’t know if Karen is seeing someone. Karen tells her that she is seeing Aaron again…he does have something that she likes. Dani tells Karen that she went to talk to Memo

Gaby comments that Fausto treated her badly and JuanPa assures her he will talk with him. Gaby says that is why she loves him – he supports her unconditionally.

Macario is ready to bite into an(other) torta the size of his head but Amparo comes in and takes it away. She chides him for pretending to be sick just so he can stay there. She hasn’t forgotten his betrayal but Mac thinks to himself that sooner or later he will cave!

Camino #33 Part 4

The four friends are dancing and having fun. Lupita apologizes to Sebas for taking him to the cemetery; she may have overstepped. Sebas admits to not being ready to go but he understands why she did it and does appreciate it. Lupita says she really doesn’t know him; she only knows the part of him that is fun and superficial. For example, he has never told her about the girl who broke his heart. Lupita thinks she and Gaby should leave.

Dani confides that she is going crazy… she has so many doubts and doesn’t know what to think about Memo or her husband. She needs to focus on the most important thing - her daughter. Dani tells her that when Fausto told her about Memo being Isa’s father, she was about to ask him for a divorce. Karen cautions Dani that she needs to think of her family. Karen advises Dani that what she needs to do right now is rest; things will be clearer in the morning. Dani doesn’t know how life became so complicated for her. Karen feigns a sudden headache so Dani leaves. Karen evil smirks as Fausto smiles.

Memo is slumped on his couch recalling when he told Dani he was in love with her and how happy they were planning to be a family. Ursula arrives, snapping him back to reality. She thinks he is thinking of Isa so asks he not worry and assures him things will work out.

Karen tells Fausto that she didn’t know Dani was going to ask him for a divorce. He tells her that after she talks to Dani, she needs to tell him everything. Call me cynical but I have my doubts!

Chuchita has noticed that Dani has been down. They haven’t talked in a long time. They share a hug as Dani tells her she need to rest…they can talk later.

Camino #33 Part 5 (Last)

Dani goes to her sleeping daughter, whispering that Isa is her light and without her she would have no reason to go on. She wants Isa to be happy and have a happy, harmonious family. She wonders why the roads to love are so complicated. Isa wakes and murmurs “mami?” Yes, it’s me Dani assures her. I love you, Isa says. Dani kisses her face and cries.

Fausto and Dani get ready for bed as he tells her they should be more united than ever. Dani tells him she went to see Memo to be sure that the DNA test was valid. Fausto insists that Memo could have made that up. Dani explains that Memo showed her Olivia’s letter and she relays what the letter said. Fausto thinks the letter is also fake…it could have been written by Memo’s brother. He screams that HE is Isabel’s father. Dani looks distraught.

Memo tells Amparo that he was studying for a test. Amparo shared that Chema’s teacher sent her a note that Chema is doing very well.

The next morning, Isa wants to wait until Memo arrives so she can say hello but Dani tells her Memo won’t arrive till noon. Isa is nonplussed and JuanPa magically appears to divert her.

Fausto greets JuanPa who asks why Fausto yelled at Gaby…admonishing him that’s not the way to treat staff. Fausto mocks him and reminds him he is living in Fausto’s house and shouldn’t tell him how to run his company. JuanPa declares that Gaby is the woman of his life. She isn’t alone, she has him to defend her! Fausto spits out that Gaby is a liar – just like her uncle. JuanPa, struggling to keep his even keel asks him why he is talking like that. Fausto’s words cut like a razor as he reveals Memo is Isa’s father…didn’t the woman of his life tell him that?

Having Ursa come in all 'What's THAT woman doing here?' was so out of place. Given the circumstances and where they are with Isa, they should all be hoping for Dani to show up and resolve things! Now, Ursa doesn't hope that of course, but up til now she's played the part well and she wants to continue to play the part so it's weird that she would choose jealous acquisition in that moment. One thing when Ursa and Dani were talking in the hall, Dani revealed to Ursa that she had had 3 previous miscarriages and warned Ursa to be careful in the beginning of her pregnancy because losing a baby was horrible. Ursa actually looked like she might have had a moment of genuine empathy for Dani when she heard that - but I'm sure it will be short lived.

I have been thinking since last night, and I have decided Gabby should deck Falso!! Fight back girl! Yes, she'll get fired, but that job isn't ever going to be anything but toxic anyway, and Falso deserves it!!! And, I think just about everyone including Karen would be secretly amused to see it! I am not a fan of violence in real life, but this is just a story and I am sure it won't happen but I can't think of anything I'd rather see at this point than Gabby punching Falso so hard she knocks him out cold! Her hand wouldn't even have to hurt later cuz this is a novela! :)

Thank you so much for relating what Dani told Ursula about her miscarriages. I did think Ursu was showing a bit of her human side but did not understand what Dani had revealed. Yes, Ursu's empathy and sympathy is in very short supply. Karen is truly heinous for so much but especially ensuring Dani miscarried.

Fausto's reprehensible behavior is continuing unabated. I live in hope that Fausto is going to "get his" and cannot wait for that to happen.

It seems there are few scenes in which something critical is not said or done. Recapping continues to be a challenge (as you are well aware) so I apppreciate your always positive comments amiga!

Jarifa, you captured a frustrating episode with illuminating insight and wisdom. The entire show was fraught with unhappiness.

“Angel tells Ester that he has never heard of a Mexican Denis. She explains that his mother picked the name but she is thinking changing it” was shocking although given some of Ester’s recent behavior and comments, it shouldn’t have been As you sagely noted “(REALLY???? talk about somebody out of touch and obliterating a person's identity).” Color me flummoxed.

“Ester shocks Jero when she tells Max the truth about them not being a couple…Jero looks like he has been hit in the head by a 2X4”. Ester is showing her true colors which seems to be a murky shade of gray. Her non empathetic thoughtless words and actions reveal she is not who she might have seemed to be initially. Run Jero run.

“Misael tells Danny that he must be sure that he tells nobody that he has come back”. Yet, there he stands in broad daylight, a large, looming figure that can never blend into a crowd, giving no thought to Julia or Danny’s safety.

And finally, Angel and Julia. “He tells her it is best that what barely started between them ends right there”. Julia could have, should have trusted him more and asked that he please give her time and trust her.

Homero losing Armando, the one person who cared for and took good care of him, despite his “spy” moniker. Celeste’s eyes being opened; Rayo, forced to continue to be invisible, sneaking around; Max being his usually annoying self; silly Teo and Mati. So many tides needing to turn here.

Jarifa, thank you for bringing all this so vividly to light every single night!

Thanks, Jarifa, for a great recap of an episode that moved at lightning speed! So much went on.

So Braulio took Celeste’s name off their account. And he has two accounts and made a down payment on a house. I hope she now realizes that her friends are right. Ester told her more than once that Braulio controlled her.

But I’m really disappointed in Ester. Truth be told, I’m usually disappointed in her. But I don’t think Max knows he signed over control of the apartment to Flavia. I don’t see Flavia letting Ester stay in the apartment now. I don’t see her letting Max have it either.

I have really liked Armando and Homero’s relationship. I hope he ends up back at the house somehow. We have Sergio and Braulio up to no good. But who are they working for and why? I guess we don’t know about Sergio for sure, maybe he is in love with Mirna.

So Mati now has two people supplying her with money, or jewels. She’s definitely just out for herself.

Julia needs to tell Angel the truth. I hope we don’t have to wait too long!

Flavia was such a busybody and gossip. And it looks like she’ll be Ana Sofia’s spy!

Misael just creeps me out. What on earth attracted Julia to him!

Can’t wait until tonight!

Thanks, Diana, that was a great read! I am so ready for Dani to catch her husband in his lies, or with Karen, and throw him out! Love isn’t confusing if you open your eyes and see Fausto for what he really is!

Do we know when the letter was written. I thought Olivia had just recently written it as she was about to die. But then I read she died at the birth. So I’m confused!

Fausto was awful to Gaby. No job is worth going through that. And then Fausto wasn’t very nice to JuanPa. But telling JuanPa that Gaby is a lier, like her uncle. Then telling JuanPa Memo is Isa’s dad. I’m pretty sure Gaby doesn’t know that. I hope that backfires on Fausto! As more and more people learn this it’s going to be pretty much out in the open. That was really not smart of Fausto. Neither was showing up at Karen’s! And nobody saw his car!

I have a feeling Aaron’s life is now in danger. If Fausto can hire someone to kill Memo he can do the same for Aaron, who has threatened to reveal all his secrets!

The scenes with Macario are so frustrating! I hope Amparo catches on to him. Eating a big sandwich when you’re supposedly so sick!

I’m ready for tides to turn and some good news to come our way, as in one of our bad guys gets discovered! But a bright note was Amparo and Dani!

Gracias, amigas. Great job. Univision didn't post 32 until this morning.

Fausto has almost become a buffoon but his cruelty toward Gaby is inexcusable. Kudos to JuanPa for standing up for her. Here's hoping he gets a heroic moment later on.

Eugenia is quite unusual in his empathy for people not in his normal orbit. Is he old money or new-ish? Was he a scholarship student who worked his way up and married the boss's daughter?

Aaron is interesting a hit man who could enter a drawing room. He must have a lot of dirt on Fausto and Karen will pay generously for that. I hope we get a good look at their afternoon delights.

BTW, this was the actor ayong the ranch foreman Susanna Gonzales got it on with in LQNPA.

I haven't finished reading , but I had to comment that I was stopped in My tracks as I read that Cynthia came to " rescue " Jero and his sons from the hoodlums . Never expected Cynthia to come to aid Jer. perhaps this PSA is that everyone has some good in them .

Ester isnt improving . Her raison d'etre used to be Ivan, but she has found a new one in Denis. I actually knew someone who changed her son's name when he was two. His name was Christopher Steven , but when She married a guy named Chris, she started calling him Steven . I thought that was an odd thing to do and confusing for the little boy.

One thing Ester is good at is helping Celeste uncover weasly Braulio 's many secrets . No wonder Braulio hates that Angel hired her .She knows his to use the computer to find things out. Ha ha Ester is not easy to intimidate . She stands up to Braulio,Flavia, Max, Her mother,

The good guys are helping each other in some ways, but everyone is do wrapped up in their own problems that nobody seems to notice Rayp has disappeared .

Liz, thank you - "Eating a big sandwich when you’re supposedly so sick!" had me laughing out loud. Macario can only complain and mope so much. He doesn't seem to want to go along with the symptoms of his supposed ills, including a loss of appetite.

Someone with a better memory than I will hopefully chime in on your question. I think Olivia wrote the letter to Memo nearing the end of her pregnancy. I think the baby was taken from her after the birth and she was completely distraught.

"Aaron is interesting a hit man who could enter a drawing room" was a great observation Urban. He is an excellent villain, his most chilling role was Rigoberto in Al diablo con los guapos, where he ended up murdering Florencia (Ariadne Diaz). I had forgotten his role in LQNPA.

We definitely need an infusion of some happiness!!

Agree with everyone regarding Fausto's behavior toward Gaby. Yeah, Gaby needs to deck Fausto and hightail it out of there. But I would make a bit of change--kick and maim him where it hurts!

Liz, the letter was written right before Olivia died--not too long ago. Fausto made up the lie that "the woman" (Olivia) died during childbirth.

Aaron is watching and taking care of his back. If Memo is killed by someone else's hand or if he (Aaron) dies, Fausto's lies will be exposed. Aaron made a good point, Fausto doesn't have the cajones to do his own dirty work; yet Aaron is still scared of Fausto because Fausto has no scruples or morals.

Liz, "The scenes with Macario are so frustrating!" I second that wholeheartedly!! I know he's probably supposed to be a sort of comic relief, but he's totally disgusting; and Amparo being so patient with him is irritating.

It must be a terrible strain for Fausto to even pretend to be pleasant. It seems he wants to clench his teeth every time he needs to be civil. JuanPa has seemed to have started to realize Fausto isn't who he seems but I'm surprised he didn't catch on earlier. How big is that house?? :)

Jero helped Ester by getting the apartment and letting her stay there.Instead of being grateful, she throws him under the bus and out of the apartment . So...perhaps now Flavia, who is the neighborhood busybody, will find out speedyquick that Ester has jettisoned Jer and will make Jer an offer he can't refuse... to live with her. Lenar will have a hissyfit. Then , Max and Ester will be together . These folks are playing musical chairs with apartments .

Mati is A teenage grifter. She is happily flimflaming innocent Teo and Rayo. Teo...despierta . You don't pay people for a date .

VENCER LA AUSENCIA #47 Part 1

Notes from the couch . . .

PRESENT: Julia texts Celeste, Rayo and Ester. They need to meet because she has something important to tell them about the accident. This plot line is concluded in the Julia section.

ANGEL + JULIA

A DAY BEFORE: We return to the conversation between Angel and Julia. After Julia professes her love for him, Angel says that a person in love doesn't hurt or betray the other person. He is angry with himself that he lead with his heart and not with his head. There were so many red flags when it came to her. He thought that she would change his life for the better but she only changed it for the worse. She accepts that she should have told him about Misael. She was late in doing so. (Unbelievable. She still would not have told him if he had not caught her) As she tries to defend herself, Angel tells her goodbye and leaves.

CELESTE

Braulio wants to know how Ester knew about the house. What was she up to? We see Celeste "playing" Braulio's secretary and calling the gated community asking if Braulio has completed his deal with the real estate company. She hears some information that makes her look surprised but not in a good way. Braulio starts to attack her for acting like an insecure woman. She tells him that she is not going to be a naive woman unaware of what her husband is doing. He says he kept it from her because of her health. She is sick of that excuse. She tells him to be honest with her. She wants to know where he got the money from. He uses the same old excuses of wanting to protect her and the baby but then adds that it is HIS (implied not HERS) responsibility as the MAN to provide . He loves her. Whatever he does is to care for both of them. Celeste asks him where he got that much money to put down as a down payment on a house??? Braulio insists that the money is not from his job at Funes. It is a loan. It doesn't make sense to her. He wants to take her to live somewhere else so she can get away from those people, that tragedy with Margarita and everything that has followed. He wants to start over giving them all the best he can including their baby. Celeste still doesn't look like she is a believer.

JERO

Jero tells Flavia it was best to let Ester live with Max and their grandchild. Now he has to find a place to live. Flavia says he can rent a room in her apartment. He will think it over. She smiles like a spider looking at the fly.

Ester gives Jero the cold shoulder when he tries to be friendly.

The business is good at the food truck.

Adair tells Ebe that Ester was real cold towards his dad. Jero hears them and tells them the truth about him and Ester. The boys tells Lenar later that their father and Ester never were an item. Donato looks worried.

Jero confronts Ester about the cold way she is treating him. She thinks it is just best to put distance between them. Jero asks why? She says things are changing. He is moving out and Max is moving in. Jero thinks it is great that Denis will grow up with his grandparents. Ester's cold attitude doesn't change.

Flavia tells Jero that her whole life is in ruins because of Ester. She has always been like a shadow in her life, like a bird of ill omen. Jero doesn't believe her. Ester is a good woman. Furthermore, Jero will not hear her badmouth Ester as he would not not listen to anyone do that to her. She insists that he doesn't know Ester and they are partners (implying he should be on her side). Jero tells her not to mix what is personal with work. She asks what he thinks of her. He thinks she has it all. She asks if she can have him, too, and kisses him good and hard.



 

VENCER Part 2

ANGEL

Angel tells Braulio that he found out that Misael came back and Julia was in contact with him. Braulio is sorry that Julia played with his feelings but he told him so. You could never trust Julia but love got control of him. It happens to everyone. No, Angel never saw Misael. What to do??? Braulio explains it is not the moment to make an accusation against Misael because he could always accuse them of asking him to transport illegal money. They need to wait until the right moment arrives. Braulio emphasizes how important is is to think calmly about what their next step will be. Angel feels overwhelmed between his love and business problems. Brauliio says that is life but there is always a way to fix things. Braulio is there to support him and very soon there will be an investment partner who will be able to improve things a great deal at the company. Angel says as long as it wasn't going to be Silvano. They haven't heard anything from him in long time. Angel cannot get neither him or Zac out of his mind. He tells Braulio how Zac knew Armando and how Armando denied it. Ana Sofí recommended Armando. Angel thinks that Zac and Silvano are connected somehow.

Armando comes to see Angel to tell him that he turned everything over to the new nurse who seems experienced but he has a bad feeling about her. Angel says he felt the same way about him when he first arrived but quickly he gained everyone's trust. Armando says it was a pleasure to work for them. Angel is sorry to see him go but presumes that the Ordax will find another job for him. Armando doesn't think it will be that easy with his criminal record. Angel says if he hears of a job for him, he will give him a call.

Ana Sofí invites Angel out for coffee. He accepts. He tells her that he was surprised to hear that Armando had a criminal record and they allowed him into the house but he also understands how people with a criminal record suffer from a certain prejudice against them. (PSA) He and his father had no complaints about Armando. Ana Sofí says if her father recommended him, he had to be a good guy. She doesn't want to talk about an employee but rather about them. She just doesn't want them to be fighting about Julia or anything anymore. She wants them to be good with each other because of the love they once had. She wants him to be happy but he doesn't look like he is. Is something wrong?? He says he is just stressed out.

Angel asks Homero how he came to get the loan from Zac. Homero cannot remember until prompted with Misael's name. Angel suspects Misael wanted take advantage of him because of the state of his health. Homero remembers hat Misael put him in contact with a criminal lawyer and he introduced him to Zac but he remembers nothing else. Angel continues to pressure him until Homero has another episode and doesn't know where he is.

Angel realizes that his father doesn't remember anything more and that he is going to have to investigate everything on his own. He does an internet search on Armando. He finds out what prison he was held in. He then tries find out who his lawyer was. He finds the lawyer: Camilo Adrete. He also defended Santino in several cases as well as Zac. .

HOMERO

Homero is introduced by Sergio to the new housekeeper/nurse Doris as Armando and Mirna look on.

Sergio asks Homero how his business is doing. Homero says that Angel is now the head of the company and has to straighten things out because of some administrative mistakes he made that could lead them very soon into bankruptcy. He is sure if they can get out of this pit, they will be making very good earnings like in behold days. Sergio agrees.
 

VENCER Part 3

JULIA

Julia tells Chepina how bad she feels about having disappointed Angel. Chepina hopes she is not going to start to cry like Victoria Rufo in "Corona de lágrimas." Julia is in no mood for telenovela jokes. (Well, I am rather than having to hear Julia bemoan the fact that she didn't know what to do. WAH!) SURPRISE (and a welcome one) : Chepina lets her have it for ruining things with Angel all by herself when she went running to cover for Misael as if he deserved it. She needs to talk to Angel. Julia says he never wants to see her again. Chepina thinks the poor guy needs some time and space. Julia has no hope.

Julia visits Misael so they can come to an agreement. Misael thanks she has changed her mind about getting divorce and cannot keep his hands off of her. She tells him no and to leave her alone. He says if she thinks he is going to turn himself in to the police, she can forget it. Danny won't have a father anymore. She knows that and she hurts for her son but he cannot keep playing the victim with her. Like it or not, he was driving the truck and has to take responsibility for that. He insists that he will be railroaded by the Funes to take the fall. Julia says Angel would never do that to him. Misael says he doesn't know him and what he would do. Misael gets dramatic and to prove his love for her says he will go and turn himself in right now no matter the consequences. She says they need to do something first. That will determine what happens next. She texts Rayo, Celeste and Ester to met her in the park and we are back in the PRESENT.

Rayo, Celeste and Ester have the shock of their lives when Julia shows up with Misael.

SANTINO AND ALL HIS MINIONS

Santino asks one of his minions if he is sure that the notice of his law suit was given to the Funes company. The minion has a receipt. Santino sees it was Braulio.

Zac informs Armando that it wasn't good that he showed up in Angel's office. Armando says he is the one who almost let the cat out of the bag. Zac tells him to watch himself. He could tell Silvano that Armando is still living at Homero's house. Armando explains that he really did fall in love with Mirna and he cares about the old man. Armando tells him to keep his mouth shut. Nobody needs to be talking about anything. Zac says he will be quiet like a cadaver buried three meters down. Armando says he better.

Sergio wants to talk to Armando outside of Homero's house. He has nothing against Armando but he won with Mirna. A gentleman who ends up losing has to know how to withdraw. Armando ask what if he doesn't withdraw and, by the way, he isn't a gentleman. Sergio asks him not to be ridiculous and lose the last bit of dignity that he has which is very little since he is no gentleman.Armando says "understood." Sergio advises him to stay away from Mirna and wishes him good luck.

Zac tells Santino that he found out that Misael was hospitalized and just got released a few days ago. A female cousin or relative came by to pick him up. Santino says he doesn't have a female cousin. It must have been his wife. Santino wants her followed night and day. He has to find Misael.
 

VENCER Part 4

RAYO

Mirna gives Doris a tour of the house. When she goes to show her late mother's room, she finds it is locked and doesn't; have the key with her. Rayo hears Mirna tell Doris the room has to be cleaned once a month.

Rayo tells Mati about Doris. She also tells Mati not to hurt Teo with what she is doing to him. Mati thanks she is boring. Better they go and find a place to sell the things she stole from the house. Mati is arguing about the amount of money one of her buyers wants to give her for the stolen goods. Rayo talks Mati out of acting the fool and drawing the police into the matter and takes what the buyer is offering. As they continue walking in the park, they are approached by another guy (he is the guy who was following Mati a couple of episodes ago) who tells them that he can take them to a person who will pay them more for their jewelry. Mati pauses but Rayo tells the guy they are not interested. She pulls Mati along with her.

ESTER

Flavia confronts Ester and tells her she was right all along. Ester was staying with Jero to remain in her apartment and now is going to do with same thing with Max. Ester informs her that she and Max are not going to live as a couple. Ester tells her it was all Flavia's fault from the start because she wanted to evict her for no good reason. She did it because she is cruel person. Flavia lets her know that Jero is now going to live with her. Ester doesn't look happy.

MIRNA

Mirna is dreaming of a wedding ring.

TEO

Teo gets on his knees to beg Mati be his novio so they can go to the movies. She says they do not know each other well enough yet. She suggests that he take her out to breakfast. He is up for that.

GINA

Gina goes out with Erik and Ariel to the movies. The moment is ruined when she sees that Erik has gotten a call from FABIOLA. Erik doesn't answer and says the only girl he is interested in is her. Gina smiles.

LENAR

Lenar tells Donato that she would like to ask him a favor. She would like Jero to be able to come and live back home until he finds another place of his own. Donato is indignant (as he should be) and asks where does he fit in this picture. Ester tells him that she has already made the decision and asks him if that is clear? Donato looks like a kicked dog.

Camino #34 Part 1

Fausto and JuanPa’s tense conversation culminates in Fausto’s accusatory reveal, piercing JuanPa’s heart and consciousness; Memo is Isabela’s father. He taunts him further - didn’t the woman of his life tell him that?

Dani and Karen dine outside. Dani shares the tale of Memo finding out Isabela is his daughter; she laments how difficult it has been for him. Karen feigns empathy purring she can only imagine how hard it was. Dani earnestly conveys Memo’s apologies for his poor behavior toward her. When Karen questions Memo’s sincerity, Dani assures her that he was. She admits the mesmerizing effect he has on her; when she is with him, she is not herself. When she looks into his eyes she is transfixed, believing every word he utters. Karen smiles that of course she does, she is in love! Dani bemoans that while she thought the possibility of her being with Memo was complicated initially, it is even more so now. She cannot believe she was going to ask Fausto for a divorce. When Dani reminds Karen that she urged her to fight for her family last night, Karen explains she was referring to the warm and loving family Dani dreams of; the one she deserves, that with Memo and Isabela. Karen insinuates she is certain Memo will leave everything for her and for Isa. All she needs to do is ask! Dani looks longingly but retorts that is impossible, Ursula is having Memo’s child and they are marrying. Dani stiffens her demeanor reminding herself it is Isa who matters. She must focus solely on Isa, not on any man, even Memo!

When JuanPa sputters that there must be some mistake, Fausto grimaces that the mistake was in trusting “those” people. Memo purposefully entered Fausto’s house, working hard to ingratiate himself while gaining their trust, even as he lied and manipulated. Memo’s sole intention was to take Isabela from them! He is sure Memo investigated everything beforehand and knew exactly who he was dealing with. JuanPa still insists …no puede ser! Fausto continues his (baseless) accusations…Memo recruited and involved his entire family in his scheme. When Fausto delineates his version of the events, JuanPa tells him to leave Gaby out of it! Fausto jabs his finger in JuanPa’s chest sneering that Gaby made him fall so much in love with her that it was easy to persuade him to get a job at the company! The poison Fausto is spewing is permeating JuanPa’s consciousness as he begins to believe him.

Memo is taking a test. For what we have no idea. Whatever he is studying is a mystery. At least for now.

Karen tries to make her arguments utilizing a tactic she has never dared to use previously. The truth! She asks Dani if Memo is sure that the baby is his. She (rightly) points out Ursula already betrayed Memo by telling Fausto that he is Isa’s father…and who’s to say that she didn’t make up the pregnancy. But does Dani even consider these possibilities?? Nopis!! Sadly, Dani defends Ursula…she told Fausto to help Memo. Karen insists that Ursula doesn’t fool her. She knows Daniela always tries to see the best in people, but she is sure that Ursula has other intentions. Dani states that she has to forget about Memo; and when she tells Karen that she has to tell Fausto everything that she is feeling, Karen (and Viewerville) think she is crazy.

Chema and Isa indulge in sweet FaceTime, greeting each other with wide, genuine smiles. Isa wants to go to Monoman’s house but she has no one to take her. Isa then wants to show Chema Ursula’s dress but Chuchita tells them that the dress is not quite finished. When Isa tells Chema that she’s going to ask her mother to buy her a dress for Memo’s wedding, Chuchita tells her she has a surprise for her. She asks Isa to close her eyes. When she opens them, she sees a beautiful sea blue frothy concoction, a creation adorned with flowers on the shoulders, bodice and hem. The bodice has a latticed design and the puffy sleeves consist of frothy layers of ruffles. A dress fit for a princess.

Camino #34 Part 2

Gaby is meeting JuanPa and happily skips over and gives him a kiss. He stares stonily and Gaby asks him what is wrong. He asks her if she knew that Isa is Memo’s daughter! She stares uncomprehendingly, obviously upset.

Isa happily tries on her gown and goes downstairs to show her parents the Princess dress she will wear to Memo’s wedding! Fausto’s face falls as his face fills with anger.

Humberto tells Memo that he spoke with a lawyer. He told him that Memo could fight for Isa as he is her biological father. Memo just needs to say the word and Humberto’s acquaintance will represent him. Memo appreciates what Humberto is trying to do but he does not want to take Daniela’s and Fausto’s daughter from them…Isa adores her parents and Dani is an excellent mother! Humberto argues that they need to make it crystal clear that if Memo had known about the baby from the beginning, he would have never allowed Olivia to put her up for adoption! Memo agrees but he is adamant he does not want attorneys involved. When Humberto adds that Memo is about to get married and Ursula would make a good mother, an astute memo realizes that Ursula talked to him and it was she who asked him to talk to an attorney.

Fausto tells Isa that she is too young to attend the wedding. When Isa pleads, Dani tells her that she and her father will think about it. It ends up there is no discussion as Fausto dictates there is no way Isa is going to the wedding!!.

Humberto defends Ursula who is only trying to help Memo; he also reminds him he has a family that supports him. Memo is grateful he can count on his family but hopes they won’t question his decisions. Humberto insists that the DNA test proves Memo is Isa’s father and if the adoptive parents refuse to tell Isa that Memo is her father, he can fight for custody. Memo reiterates he doesn’t want to fight with Dani and Fausto. Time is ticking;’ Humberto warns him that he only has a window of 140 days to file a legal action.

Gaby thinks JuanPa probably drank too much pool water (loved that expression!), but JuanPa retorts that Fausto told him Memo is Isa’s father. Staring icily, JuanPa tells her that she and her uncle are good actors…Memo went to their house with lies telling her he needed work…and she lied, enticing him to become interested in her; all to take Isa from them. How quickly he drank the Kool Aid I mutter. Gaby is in tears and gets up, only to have JuanPa ask why she is running away. Gaby says it hurts he doesn’t trust her thinking she went after him with harmful intentions. JuanPa continues to accuse her of lying and even using Sebastian to get close to him. He stands up, throws money down on the table and leaves. Gaby calls after him but he never even turns around.

Camino #34 Part 3

Nina Estrella (Isa) and Monoman (Chema) talk on the phone again. Chema urges Isa to convince her parent sto let her go to the wedding.

An angry Fausto confronts Chuchita ordering her to stop involving his daughter in her adventures with the family of the trailero! Chuchita looks (understandably) upset and confused, asking if something has happened with Memo. Dani puts her hand on Chuchita’s arm and tells her it would be best if Chuchita not ask questions. Out of sight, Dani upbraids Fausto for talking with Chuchita like that She knows nothing of what is going on with Memo and he shouldn’t be so hard on her! Fausto sneers that Isa will not go to the wedding that will be a zoo!

Gaby cries; she has no missed calls and JuanPa doesn’t answer the phone. Back at work, Sebastian sees a distraught Gaby and sits down next to her asking why she is upset and giving her a comforting hug.

Memo goes to see Ursula who quickly hides her beer under the table. He reproaches Ursula for talking to his father but she is defiant and continues to diss and dismiss Fausto and Dani. Memo tells her he will consider what his father told him, but he will only follow his advice as a last resort if everyone conspires to keep Isa from him.

Dani gently tells Isa that they haven’t been invited to the wedding. Isa is drawing but doesn’t want to show it to Dani. Dani looks at the picture which shows two figures side by side. Dani thinks it is her and Fausto but Isa corrects her; it is Memo and Ursula. As she writes their names, she draws a huge heart around them. Dani is deeply affected and stares as though her heart is broken.

In an attempt to play coy (which fails miserably), Aaron asks if Karen is thinking about him or how to ruin Fausto’s marriage. Karen flirts a bit and asks if Fausto is in his office. Aaron says no Fausto is working from home…to be close to his family. Ouch! Next, Aaron drops a tasty little carrot mentioning that he knows what really happened with Isa’s adoption. Karen reminds him about the invite for a drink.

Aaron passes by a sobbing Gaby being comforted by Sebas. She and her raccoon eyes avoid his questions. Gaby denies that she is crying because of JuanPa; she is crying because of all the stress at work. Gaby grabs her bag and they leave.

Camino #34 Part 4

Gaby and Sebastian arrive at the restaurant where Lupita and Amparo are discussing Macario, still claiming (lying) to being ill. Amparo teases Lupita about her big smile after she saw Sebas. They see how upset Gaby is and wonder what happened. Sebas tells Lupita that Gaby wouldn’t tell him anything and he kisses her on the cheek and he leaves.

Fausto tells Dani to fire Memo, but Dani thinks it’s best to keep Memo on…with him there, they can watch him and see what he is up to. Fausto agrees!

Gaby confronts Memo asking if it’s true…is Isabela his daughter? He takes her hands and tells her that he is. He explains this is a very sensitive matter and wants as few people to know as possible. Gaby cries that JuanPa told her and he thinks she knew and was lying to him. After Memo explains what happened he asks that she try to understand…and under no circumstances should Isa find out.

In the one lighthearted scene of the evening, Chema sports a red cape and is engaging his “sick” father in conversation. They play back and forth and it’s a cute scene. Chema red cape on his back is bothering his father. Macario plays back and it’s a cute scene. What a shame the only light scene of the night featured Macario.

Gaby tells Lupita about Isabela. JuanPa won’t answer her calls; she shares he thinks she knew all along and was lying to him. Gaby is the first person she has truly fallen in love with and doesn’t want to lose him.

Ahhh, it’s the not so wonderful knight in not so shining armor. Cesar arrives at the restaurant and Amparo engages him in conversation. Amparo is surprised he knew that they were thinking of selling the restaurant. Cesar tells her that Macario told him.

Macario tells Chema to get him the remote control oh, and some tamales as well! Chema doesn’t want to because his mother sets the law. Macario tells him he is feeling better…and the tamales will help him more. Chema then flies into the kitchen, pilfering the remote and telling his mother he is hungry. He takes off with two huge tamales to go!

Camino #34 Part 5 (Last)

Amparo finds Gaby crying. She confides why JuanPa is angry with her…it hurts her that JuanPa doesn’t believe her. Amparo assures her daughter that the truth always comes out.

Dani is grateful for JuanPa’s support as the two share a hug. They discuss Memo; JuanPa can’t believe Memo lied. When he accuses Gaby, Dani tells him not to confuse things but JuanPa stubbornly insists that Gaby was an accomplice.

Amparo explains why she hadn’t told the girls about Isa. Bringing the conversation around to her own present predicament, Gaby asks Amparo if she had problems with her father when they were young. Amparo tells her problems are unavoidable…everyone thinks that happy couples don’t have problems but that is not so. True couples recognize they make mistakes and believe in forgiveness.

Memo opens his door to reveal Karen. She looks around rather condescendingly as she drops a bag on the counter, a present, a yellow baby outfit. She tells Memo that she is worried about Dani who confided everything that he and Dani said to each other about being in love. She states the obvious, that everything was ruined because Memo failed to tell her that Isa is his daughter. She reveals it was his novia who took it upon herself to share that news! Ursula went to the company and told Fausto. When Memo retorts that Ursula wouldn’t do that, Karen tells him that a jealous woman is capable of that and much more! If Ursula suspected how he felt about Dani, what better way to separate them than to reveal his secret. He shouldn’t trust Ursula, and further, it is very possible that Ursula is not even pregnant! His stare reflects that he neither likes her nor believes her. And yet, there is a flicker …

The pace of the dialog was merciless tonight. I swear there was no opportunity to take a breath! I was overwhelmed almost immediately and knew trying to keep up would be a sheer impossibility.

The recap was possible only due to the incomparable, the ingenious Rgv Chick. Her determination, her superior language skills and her generosity of time and spirit came to the rescue once again! I am so, so grateful.

Diana, you bring beauty to what is definitely less than beautiful. I much prefer reading your telling of it than actually watching the episode! Your compassion and empathy lend a humanity to most of the characters - Falso isn't human so he doesn't count!

How disappointing that JuanPa drank the cool aid! Just the other day it seemed he was seeing Falso for who he is but then he buys this hook, line and sinker and not even Dani can reason with him! But then love reeks havoc with reasons and emotions. I guess just that thought that the person he loves could have been playing with him and lying to him all the whole is too much for him to overcome - at least for the moment. Hopefully Amparo is right and with time he'll calm down and see the truth. Interesting that Dani is able to believe the truth already.

I don't disagree with Humberto consulting a lawyer, I've said since day 1 it's a good idea; but I do disagree with his whole fight for custody stance. How any loving grandparent could believe that what is best of the child is to rip her suddenly out of her home and away from the only parents she's ever known - well at least Dani taking her from Falso would be fine - is beyond me! That's not love, it's selfishness! Humberto should be smarter than to advocate that. That Ursa influenced him to see a lawyer doesn't really bug me, but again that the good part of the advice and throw out the crazy.

I'm actually starting to like Karen, which is scary. I'll have to remind myself she caused Dani's miscarriages. However, at the moment she's being quite helpful. Yes, she's doing it all simply for her own selfish gain but still...Yay! She told Memo that Ursa was the one who told Falso and Yay! She planted the fake pregnancy seed.

Welcome back Cesar! Maybe he can do something useful too??

Thanks, Jarifa, for you detailed notes from the couch. The ending, at the park bench, was a real shock for me! They sure do a good job with cliffhangers! I feel like if Misael and Angel could sit and talk they might be able to figure things out.

Celeste is finding out that Braulio is keeping a lot hidden from her. Hopefully she is wising up!

I guess I went into this thinking Ester was the main female character. But she is rarely likable. She’s being awful to Jero, who only wants to help her. And poor Jero, he’d be better off with his wife than with Flavia. So I hope he does move back with Lenar. Flavia is much worse. And telling Jero Ester ruined her life, seems like it was the reverse!

I hope Rayo is finished with her stealing, she really needs to be finished with Mati. But I am hoping Flavia discovers her son is giving his money to her-and loves her! She’ll be begging Rayo to come back.

Sergio must realize that Braulio is working against Angel. I wonder what he’ll do. And even though Armando is no longer working there I hope he’ll stick around.

If Sergio doesn’t have the money I’m starting to think Braulio does. Since Celeste is questioning the big down payment he’s the one with mucho dinero!

Your wit and perception hit home particularly "But then love reeks havoc with reasons and emotions". While Dani wrestles with her emotional demons, her vision is still relatively clear yet she must struggle with her sense of fairness. Memo is but an unattainable dream as she feels responsibility to keep her vows as Memo prepares to take his.

JuanPa's buttoned up self righteousness was sad, particularly for one so young. Without trust, there is no hope.

Humberto is doing what he feels is best, which is of course wrong. As you sagely noted "That's not love, it's selfishness!" A child is not a possession and Humberto is no Solomon. I have to trust that somehow all of this will sort itself out although the dark continues to descend...

And I have to agree, Karen has finally told a truth! Granted it was for her own selfish, self serving purpose but I will take it!

I was so disappointed in JuanPa. He had just been seeing his uncle as a not so nice guy. And then he believes every word the guy tells him. I think Sebastian will help him see the truth, but I hope Gaby doesn’t forgive too easily. And I hope she gets a new job!

Karen has Ursula’s number, not really surprising, as they both go after what they want any way they can.

I was disappointed that Humberto was pushing the lawyer on Memo. Saying she was his granddaughter and family. Glad Memo got the connection to Ursula. And I think I heard her mumble something about causing trouble between the two. So she’s not pushing a lawyer to help Memo. I never could figure why she was so insistent on the lawyer, but that would be the end of Memo for Dani.

That was a cute scene with Macario and Chema. I don’t think Macario’s going anywhere anytime soon.

Isa and Chema are about the only two that don’t know about Memo. Not a good move on Fausto’s part!

Like you, Diana, the only scenes I enjoyed were the ones with Chema and Isa...que triste!

Darcy, I agree with yor entire commentary! I feel the same way you do about Karen. She is doing everything she can to get Dani and Memo together; and though she is only doing it for selfish reasons, I'm ok with it because she will end up with Fausto...or alone.

And I agree about JuanPa who ended up eating up everything Fausto spewed; and he spewed it right back out at Gaby! What a moron!

Ursula sure knows how to manipulate Humberto. And it irks me how Memo let's her get away with everything she does. I doubt he will do anything even if he does get convinced that she ratted out his secret. Another moron! And yes, the advice Humberto gave is good but only to a certain point; it would be devastating to Isa and Dani if Memo took Isa abruptly to live with him.

Jarifa, I consistently marvel at your razor sharp insight into this disparate and confounding cast of characters.

Few (if any) of these characters should be put on a pedestal yet when they fall from grace, they fall hard. And fast. Julia, risking everything to “cover for Misael as if he deserved it”. At the least, Angel deserved the truth or at least some version of it. But your “(Unbelievable. She still would not have told him if he had not caught her)” was exactly right. She has no one to blame but herself.

So Misael is again out in the open. A sitting target. Let’s hope none of the women are in the spies sights.

Liz, “she is rarely likable” regarding Ester nailed it. Her impassive expression is inscrutable and her emotions are buried far beneath the surface. She rejects, she retreats. If the writers are able to bring Ester and Jero together as a believable romantic couple, that will be an astonishing feat.

Things are rising to an explosice crescendo. There are so many possibilities, so many variables, all part of a combustible mix.

The wedding is imminent. Still, I have to have faith something or someone will stand in the way. Cesar, I'm putting my money on you.

Just finished the excellent recap .Wow, this story has so many moving parts and mysteries .

It seems that Armando really cares about Homero and loves Mirna (why????) My tablet keeps changing " Mirna" to "Horns." It's not wrong.

Rayo and Teo need to open their eyes to Mati , who is nothing but trouble and bad advice . Kids from good families can fall in with a bad crowd. Teens are influenced more by their peers than their families.

I am trying to remember why Celeste is estranged from her brother . Did Braulio tell her that her brother took their mother's house , but Braulio actually took it and sold it ? Could that be where be got all this money. He has been controlling and manipulating Celeste for a long time . Perhaps he feared Rayo might figure this out if she came to live with them.

I'm with everyone else about JuanPa. I just had to remind myself that despite his great looks he is young enough to still be impressionable about women and that he didn't witness the intense and unjustified cruelty against Gaby in the office. He got there after Fausto left the area.

Honestly, the way some characters jump to conclusions about stuff like this shows them to be incapable of rational thought. It makes perfect sense for Memo to not have said anything until he was sure about paternity. It makes further sense for him to not tell anyone right away.

Fausto rants on what he wants other people to believe. Everything he does at this point is toward his very greedy goal of stealing Isabella's inheritance the second she turns 18 which isn't for another 12 years. He doesn't even care whom else he hurts en route. Would he even have the energy to keep this up that long? He should die of a stroke long before then. Or get fired by Eugenio because of what the rest of the company could tell him about Fausto's behavior and how it is a corporate liability.

I would be all in favor of Memo seeing a lawyer about his rights. That would open up an investigation into the adoption which could possibly prove that it was illegal. Fausto likely had more than adequate cash assets -- perhaps with some from Daniela -- to pay off anyone involved with this and there may be a deficiency of the appropriate legal filings. The main difficulty here could be dead bodies other than the doctor who delivered Isabella. This would be the only way that Fausto could have covered his tracks.

Of course, Ursula would have suggested lawyers to make Daniela hate Memo enough to keep him away from her. However, Humberto isn't thinking ahead about what a nightmare this whole thing would be for everyone involved, especially Isabella.

Of all our story's villains Karen is the most intelligent but she is also mentally ill. She knows how to plan ahead but she is subject to tantrums which she manages to hide very efficiently. However, she is blind to the fact that she gains nothing if she gets Fausto, but I guess she thinks she can control him. That is no guarantee because of how he abuses Daniela and how he will eventually abuse Isabella. She hasn't seen him in that kind of action... yet.

If Cesar doesn't save the day on what should be a boda interrumpida, do any government officials check records that reveal the truth? With everything computerized now that should happen but would not be as interesting as the furor that could ensue from such a public revelation.

Finally, how is it that a male villain like Macario provokes laughter when faking an illness while toxic mothers who do this provoke anger? Enquiring minds want to know.

I am not looking forward to Esther and Maximo living together again. That apartment only has two bedrooms, so who will be sleeping on the couch?

Misael is trash. I can't believe a word he is saying and he barely sees Julia as a person. Every time he touches her or tries to I cringe. Same deal with Flavia and Jeronimo.

Silvano is crooked but we don't know the details yet. When that finally is revealed Ana Sofi's goose will be cooked.

Braulio buying a house behind Celeste's back is obvious evidence of potential isolation. It's good that she seems to realize this but she really needs to know where the money really came from.

Ratings on this series were lower than for the other two prime novelas in December.

Traditionally the 10PM time slot doesn't do all that well here without a ratings-magnet male lead like Fernando Colunga or Jorge Salinas. Andres Palacios has potential, but this wasn't going to be it. There were more headline actors in the 2005 version.

This series -- which ends tonight -- has 50 episodes vs 120 for the previous version. I don't recall watching the entire 120 because I find Victoria Ruffo annoying so I can't tell you what is missing or seriously different other than the subplot involving Demetrio. Two actresses in the current version were in the previous version.

The 2005 version is now available on Vix.com.

Televisa and Univision merged last year.

While I shiver at the thought of that being even a bit imagineable, my answer to the emotional component is yes. Fausto is a stone cold killer (I don't care that Aaron does it, he orders it). As you noted, he has no sympathy or empathy and is completely unaffected by the grief he causes.

Speaking solely for myself, in this particular instance, I laugh only as it is the marvelous Alberto Estrella who seems to have a perpetual twinkle in his eye as he feigns his illness and fails to get one bite of torta! :) I am cringing, certainly not smiling at his other actions and words. I'm curious as to who what toxic mothers you are referring to?

What can Misael possibly say that will appease the women? Mujeres, call the police. I do think Misael has been a victim of Santino like everyone else, but he lies so much and manipulates that he's useless to them for getting to the truth. He's only interested in covering his own a$$.

I hope Angel can get Armando to fess up the deal with Santino.

Where will Jero go? The plus with moving back to is old house is his sons live there. The plus with moving to Flavia's apartment is absolutely nada.
 

Vencer I'm a bit surprised Ivan seemed to be such a nice teenager because his mother really isn't nice, even to Geronimo, who has done nothing wrong. I don't think her 'do as I say' will ever go away and no one likes this. I seem to remember someone saying Geronimo could handle it and I just don't think the guy deserves to go through something like that. What does Leenar actually want? Does she even love anyone? She complained she was on her own for so long, then she wasn't happy Gero got a 'girlfriend', now hse says 'he's moving back in and I'm not discussing this with anyone.' This makes it seem she is just unhappy in general but I want to know something more about her because it's the only way she mightstop irritating me.
So when was Julia planning to tell Angel the truth?

Sebas gave me a laugh. When he first offered to take Gaby home, she insisted on staying at work. Then Sebas had her pull out a mirror and see the mess her tears made of her makeup. Nuff said.

I'm torn about Karen too. Causing Dani's miscarriages means no redemption for her, but Dani and Memo do need her (selfish) moves with Fausto and Ursula.

I laughed when Ursula gulped a swig of beer before answering the door for Memo and he didn't detect alcohol on her breath. In an earlier epi, she didn't even know how many months/weeks she has. She will definitely slip up.

Yay, Cesar is back. I hope he screws up both Ursula and Macario.
