VENCER LA AUSENCIA #53 Part 1

Notes from the couch


THE MAIN EVENT

HOME INVASION

Mati talks to Chilo (gang guy) to set up the robbery. Mati says she can make sure the house is open. There will only be three people at home: Rayo, the old man and his daughter. Chilo says he can live with that. She asks if there will be firearms.He says they don't operate that way. They schedule the event for tomorrow night. Mati informs Rayo that she will be going to the house tomorrow night. Does she get it?? Rayo says she will open the door for her.Mati promises her that this is the las time that they will take anything from the house. She swears it is. Rayo is also planning on leaving the house tomorrow. She writes the Funes family a letter abut living in their house. She apologizes but she had nowhere else to go. She tells them not to fight and to take care of don Homero. She thanks them for everything. The next day arrives and Mati leaves Chilo a message that everything is ready to go. Mati texts Rayo that she is almost at the house. Rayo says she is getting her stuff together but cannot find her mother's recipe book. Rayo meets Mati at the door of the house. Chilo is there with another guy and a girl. Before Rayo knows what is going on, they are entering the house. When Mati tries to follow along, Chilo puts her in her place. He is the boss here. He tells her to stay outside and be the lookout. She is to alert them if there is a problem. As soon as the thieves get in the house, they put stockings over their heads to hide their faces. Chilo forces Rayo at gunpoint to take him to the old man's room where the expensive stuff is. Mati is outside texting with Teo about him wanting to have sex with her. She barely notices Mirna walking right into the house where one of the gang grabs her and covers her mouth. While they search his room for valuables, Homero wakes up. Rayo stands in front of him begging Chilo not to do anything to him. Chilo tells her to move out of the way as he points his gun at her. Homero tells Chilo "Don't do anything to Margarita!" Rayo turns shocked and stares at him.



 

VENCER Part 2

HOMERO

PSA: Angel shows Mirna an article about euthanasia that Homero has been reading. They are concerned that he is considering taking his own life. Doris offers valuable information about euthanasia/assisted suicide and about how it is legal in some countries but not in Mexico. It is used by people who want to stop suffering. Homero nods his head in agreement. She further explains that in Mexico there is a law that a patient or a member of a patient's family can refuse any treatment that would lengthen that patient's life. It is a way of respecting the naturall process of death. (It sounds like an advance directive) Homero again nods in agreement. Homero explains that the last thing that he wants is to be dead in this life and not know who he is. Mirna calls him selfish (really?) She is opposed to the idea. Angel tells her that their father has the final word on what he wants. He also tells Mirna that maybe if they spend more time with their father they can help change his mind. Mirna refuses to be stuck being a caregiver when she has just started to enjoy life with Sergio. Angel decides to move back to his father's house. Homero tells him that the door is always open for him.

Later, Angel asks Ester who brought in the tablet. She says that the person at the front desk said it was a boy who appeared to be about 15. Angel finds the whole situation very strange. Angel meets with Braulio and tells him about the predicament with his father. Braulio understands Homero's wish to have a good death. He says some are found by death like Silvano while some look for it like his father. Angel wonders if Silvano's death was really an accident. Braulio says that is what the police ruled it as. He thinks that Angel is so upset that he is seeing conspiracies and threats everywhere. He thinks that Angel deserves to take some time off and be with his dad. Braulio volunteers to take care of the business. He also tells Angel that things are looking up. He has good news. Somebody called Arnaldo Bermejo is likely to become their partner. Braulio knows him very well and he is great Latin American businessman. Braulio goes home and talks to Celeste. He tells her that Angel will be taking some time off and he will be filling in for him. Things will be rough for a while. Being the junior Funes, it was real easy for Angel to just up and take a break because he felt like it. Celeste hopes they give Braulio a raise of the extra work he will be doing. Braulio says the Funes have never paid him adequately for how hard he has worked for them.
 

VENCER Part 3

JULIA AND MISAEL

Julia and Misael are miserable with each other scene after scene. Misael comes home. He tells Julia that he didn't find job he liked but he will keep looking. He did talk to his lawyer who briefed him on how his defense will be handled and the evidence he needs to present to the judge in Matehuala. Julia says if he cannot find a full term job maybe he can pick up some part time work to help out. They have a ton of expenses. Misael is also waiting for the Funes company to compensate him since it was their fault that he finds himself in this situation. Misael agrees to get some side jobs to help out at home and whatever is left over he will use for something else. Julia asks what?? He is going to start performing again. By restarting his singing career he is sure he will make better money and they will have a better chance to get ahead. Julia think he is jumping the gun. First, he needs to be found innocent. She doubts that is going to happen. Then there could be jail and paying damages for pain and suffering. Misael disagrees. Julia reminds him that whatever happens, she still will be divorcing him. Misael gets angry so when Danny comes out to leave for the park with him, he tells Danny that he was talking about divorce with his mother because she doesn't love him anymore. Julia cannot believe he would say that to his son. Danny asks why she wants to break up the family. Misael says she doesn't care about either of them. Julia tells Danny not to worry. He can trust that his mother and father will make the best decision for him. The conversation continues later when Julia cannot sleep because of the idiotic things Misael said to their son about their separation. He thinks that children should know the truth as in this case where Julia wants to separate because she wants to have a chance with another guy. Julia clarifies that she wants a divorce because she doesn't want to be with him. His blackmail will not work. She starts to question Misael about his kdinapping asking for details. He asks why would he tells her???

ANGEL AND ANA SOFI

Ana Sofí shows up hysterical at Angel's place. She misses her father so much. She wants to stay with Angel . She needs him. Angel says she can always count on him but they will not be sleeping together. He offers her his place since he is going to move in with his father for awhile. Ana Sofi wants them to live together like before. Angel says NO. His father needs him.
 

VENCER Part 4

JULIA AND ANGEL

Angel calls Julia. He wants to meet with her because he needs to talk to somebody. She agrees because before anything else, they are friends. When they meet, he fill sJulia in on what is going on with his dad. He tells her about the mystery of the tablet finding its way to his office. He says that his father still remembers her with great affection. She asks how the girl who was supposed to help out around the house turned out. He says he had to fire her because she was a minor. She thought that the girl was a cousin of Rayo who is the daughter of her friend Margarita who died in the accident. Angel doesn't remember so she takes out Rayo's latest photo. Angels recognizes that the photo was taken in his living room.Now Julia knows why it looked familiar to her. Julia says Rayo said she was living at a friend's house. Julia wonders if she is hiding in Angel's house. Angel says he has heard of people doing that, living hidden in large houses (Did he not see the movie "Parasite"(2019)???) He texts Mirna who is not at the house but on her way. Angel asks Julia to come home with him in case they do find Rayo. He doesn't want her to feel intimidated. They kiss but it is a short one since they are holding up traffic.

EVERYTHING ELSE

Julia visits Celeste. They agree that the accident changed everything between the friends. It is as if there were walls erected in-between them. They need to get their friendships back. Both Julia and Celeste feel guilty about not paying more attention toRayo.

Jero moves out of Ester's as polite and distant as ever. His sons tell her that they wish that she had had a real relationship with their father. Max moves in. He reminds her she really needs to get legal custody of Denis. She says she will get on it. She is convinced that she will get custody. She also tells Max that when Denis gets older there probably will not be room for the three of them in the house.

Celeste still cannot believe that Braulio would do anything illegal .

Flavia tells Teo that from now on since Teo wants to be so independent, he will be doing his own cooking, cleaning and washing his own clothes.

Erik tries to motivate Gina to go to school and study so she can become independent like he is. Now is the time when she has a place to live and food on the table. He uses himself as an example. She thinks that Ana Sofí help]ed him out a lot. He says she did a the beginning but that was all. She brings up Ana Sofí helping him out again and Erik asks her if she is jealous???

Jero moves into Flavia's but makes it clear he will be there only as long as it takes him to find another place.

Ester confronts Misael as he is on the street enjoying a brewski with a buddy. He tells her that he is not about to stop living and enjoying his life because of what happened. Ester says she is bitter because she lost he son and she does have a question for him. How did her son's backpack end up in the Funes car when supposedly Misael had returned the car before he met up with Iván and Margarita. She says that something isn't right in that scenario and asks him what he is hiding.

VENCER

There were signs of hope last night for both Angel and Julia!!!! Angel did not give in to Ana Sofí when she came to his place trying to manipulate him with her tears. Julia did not give in to Misael in spite of his using Dany to try to pressure her. I, also, remain hopeful for Misael who treated Ester much like an acquaintance and didn’t fall for her weak attempts to get back at least the friendship they had. The writers’ last twist of the knife of regret was his sons telling her that they had wished she had a relationship with their dad.

As for Braulio and his backstabbing of Angel to Celeste, he has to be the snake in the grass. I wonder if this magical partner who supposedly is going to ride in and save the day even exists.

The home invasion was disgusting. I hope nobody like Homero or Rayo ends up dead or injured and that Julia and Angel spend enough time smooching in traffic so the robbers are long gone by the time they arrive.

Camino #41 Part 1

A few hazy notes after the fact. I cannot vouch for the veracity of what appears below 😊

As Fausto, Dani and Karen continue their lunch Fausto brings ginormous flower bouquets for both. He is very amorous, kissing Karen’s arm and whispering in her ear. I am drawn to them as a couple thinking how good they would be together, if not for the murdering of course. They go off to be together. Aaron seems all in, Karen not so much. Sebastian comes up and smiles at his sister, giving her a hard time.

The new but not so blushing bride and Memo arrive at the restaurant and are greeted warmly by Humberto and Amparo.

Ahhh, it’s Eugenio, a breath of fresh air. He has brought the newly minted cookbook with Amparo’s pretty picture gracing the cover. Amparo is delighted and they hug warmly as Macario peers evilly around the corner, muttering to himself. Is it just me or is the beginning of a blooming love that has taken years from Eugenio’s face? When he sees Macario, he calls to him, smiling and tells him to sit. Macario barely glances at the book and throws it down on the table.

Leo and Chuchita were all hearts and smiles and then something happens/is said, I was lost here. Please fill in if you can.

Fausto and Daniela meet with Memo at a restaurant. A loose interpretation of the discussion is that Dani says Isabela needs to know her father. She needs to know Memo is her birth father. The same old song. Fausto refuses to capitulate and yells that the conversation is finished. Memo stares helplessly. They are leaving Fausto declares, telling Daniela to come. I would never use that tone of voice with my beloved fur daughter let alone someone I purportedly love!

When they get home, Fausto screams at Daniela as JuanPa appears, coming to the aid of his sister. Fausto insults Gaby and yells that he is the man of the house. It is MY house Dani yells. The situation escalates and Fausto calls JuanPa insolent. He will never allow Isabela to know her real father. JuanPa tells Daniela he can no longer stay there.

Cesar grabs Ursula but she pulls him off. I believe it is at this point that he tells her about Yolanda.

Gaby, Lupita, Chema and Leo are so proud of Amparo and are effusing over the cookbook. Macario hovers in the corner like the dark cloud he is and there are kind words said about Eugenio. He walks outside where Cesar is lurking.

Thanks, Jarifa, you bring every detail to me and I’m so appreciative of that!

The bad guys seem to be getting more open, letting us all know what side they are on. Meaning good versus evil as we really still don’t know who’s working for who! Misael was horrible when he spoke to Danny. Who says that stuff to a child! Oh, Braulio also is awful to children.

The robbery has me on the edge of my seat. I can’t wait until tonight! I was so pleased when Homero called Rayo Margarita. Hope the parentage will be resolved quickly, but I doubt it. And I hope Rayo is cleared in the robbery.

So Braulio insists Angel take time off, leaving him in charge, and then complains about it to Celeste. And he feels he doesn’t get paid enough. I bet he’s helping himself to the money. Ester needs to watch him at work.

Mati wasn’t a very good lookout. And was really stupid to believe those punks about the no guns. I hope she gets arrested but I bet she’s taken off by now.

Julie and Angel are so good together. And by making Misael such a creep we can cheer on the breaking up of a family.

Angel stood up to Ana Sofia! Yes! I think she is probably sad about her dad but also using that to try to get Angel back.

Big question-what happened to the recipe book?!

I don’t remember Ana Sofia helping Erik. And I already feel sorry for Jero. He’s moved in with a shrew. As nice as he is can he have a good influence on her? I doubt it.

Camino #41 Part 2

Uh oh, the next thing you know, Yolanda has shown up at Ursula’s! Macario walks in, eyes downcast eating and when he sees her, he drops his gruel bowl, his eyes reflecting his fury. Ursula is lapping up every drop of his discomfort, eyes darting from Yolanda to Macario. Macario throws Yolanda out and reminds Ursula she is pregnant from her “other" man.

As JuanPa has gathered his belongings prepared to leave, Dani begs him to stay. He is going to Sebastian’s. Suddenly, Isabela and Chuchita appear. When Fausto arrives, Dani hurries them up the stairs. Fauto continues his bullying verbal tirade.

Back at the newlyweds, Memo is opening up wedding presents and oh look it’s a blender!

Ursula verbally trashes Dani…

Fausto confronts Daniela surmising that it is Karen who is influencing her. She says it is she herself. I am distracted as I see her necklace. At first I saw “Memo” but knowing that couldn’t possibly be right, think it says “Mama”. Back to the escalating fight, I believe Daniela brings up the “d” word – divorce!!! He tells her he would never permit a divorce.

JuanPa is at Sebastian’s telling him what happened. Roomies they declare!

Daniela and Chuchita share chocolate ice cream. And tears.

Leo is moondogging about Chuchita as he talks to Memo. It ends on something regarding Ursula, but I cannot say what.

Oh Jarifa, what an episode! Not only was your recap sensational but the way, the manner, and the order in which you laid the interlocking puzzle pieces out was perfect.

” Homero tells Chilo "Don't do anything to Margarita!" Rayo turns shocked and stares at him” was pivotal. And the gunshot – oh dear, is anyone hurt? My heart leapt into my chest. What a cliffhanger!

So many sad, touching moments. “Homero explains that the last thing that he wants is to be dead in this life and not know who he is”. I cannot even imagine. Tragic for the victim but equally the family struggling with how to deal with and help the person they love who is slipping away forever. And Braulio’s “some are found by death like Silvano while some look for it like his father” was very insightful.

“Braulio says the Funes have never paid him adequately for how hard he has worked for them”. Those diamonds Celeste is sporting didn’t come directly from the mines; the money had to have come from somewhere.

“Jero moves out of Ester's as polite and distant as ever” could not have been better stated. Ester reaped what she sowed. That said, I hope they do find their way back to each other. I wonder how Cinthia is going to fit into all this. Max moving in with Ester makes no sense.

Misael performing again! What a selfish loser. Like you, I’m so glad Julia held firm with him.

How creepy is Chilo!

Liz, as for Ana Sofí helping Erik that was my mistake. It should have been his ex Fabiola who helped him out. Erik knows of what he speaks as he tries to career counsel Gina. I do not know if you saw “Vencer el pasado” but there he basically lived off of his parents who were being supported by his sister as he went from one job to another. He was always after the easy money/fast buck. He wanted to be a physical trainer but was too lazy to get the necessary education. He became a male stripper just short of being a gigolo. Then, he took a step up as a chauffeur. When he and Fabiola (rich executive at genetic research company her family owned) finally got together, she was supposed to help him get an education if I remember correctly. It looks like he has finally turned the corner. Loved that he basically asked la la Gina if she could support herself.

That is a big question about the recipe book. Writers don’t mention things unless there a reason. You and me both want to see Mati arrested. She is a great instigator but just is always on the outskirs of the action. She was surprised when Chilo told HER what to do.

Diana, thanks. I tried to include the important stuff even though it was late. Yes, that was some cliffhanger! I cannot wait until tonight. I think that Jero’s treatment of Ester is going to be a good lesson for her. Jero will not be manipulated if they decide to have a relationship later. I liked Braulio’s quote about death. Too bad that the character is as smart as he is. I wonder how he will trip up? The gun was no surprise with Chilo and that crew. I always love how they work the PSA’s into the plots. Anyway, got to get the day going and get out of here!

Homero's quest to commit suicide was disturbing to watch. I can understand his wish not to be a burden to his adult children but if I had a daughter like Mirna who doesn't show any evidence of caring I would probably also want to check out.

Angel realizing that Rayo was in his house will lead to yet another discovery. Whoever first said that Homero could be Rayo's bio-dad probably called it. When he yelled "don't hurt Margarita" is the clue. If he is he might change his mind about ending it all. But if he dies Mirna will try to exclude Rayo from inheriting anything.

I totally agree about the home invasion. It was horrible and the note Rayo left for Angel will likely be used against her... unless good-hearted Angel destroys it.

I'm glad that Julia and Angel figured out what was up with Rayo, and Rayo wrote the note, before the home invasion. Will Rayo see once and for all that Mati is not a friend?

Kudos to all of you who suspected Homero saw Margarita in Rayo.

I sure wish Homero could think clearly about Braulio's history. Where did the trust in Braulio come from? Braulio has surely been bilking the company for ages.

Julia (Ariadne Díaz) looked lovely and natural with her hair pulled back in a ponytail. She should wear it like that more often.

Ester has her issues, but I do love her aggressive attitude with that bum Misael.

Thank you Diana, for providing your wonderful notes from last night! I watched totally distracted and interrupted by messages from family so I can't fill in much but I can tell you what happened with Chuchita and Leo.

Chuchita had the idea that because they slept together it meant they would get married. It looks like Chucha has very traditional views on relationships. When Leo balked at the idea of getting married right away, Chucha decided that meant Leo didn't truly love her and was only playing with her to get what he wanted - ie. sex. Leo tried to tell her that he did love her and he was serious about their relationship. He even wanted to marry her but not right now, because right now he had nothing to offer her. Chucha couldn't hear it though because she was too caught up in her own emotion and disappointment.

Thanks again for all you've done this week! I hope Rgv Chick is feeling better!

Darcy, thanks for Leo and Chuchita. Leo is certainly sincere, but if he has nothing to offer her right now he better get cracking. Get that music going, like uploading it on social media.

Karen leaned on Aaron to tell her Fausto's dark secret(s). Silly girl thinks mere kissing will get Aaron to spill the beans. Aaron says he's holding out for marriage before he'll talk.

Cesar joked about Mac having two wives and Ursula two husbands. Between Mac, Ursula, and Cesar, something's got to give.

Fausto humiliated JuanPa, calling him a freeloader. How can Dani stomach Fausto after he made JuanPa decide to leave?

Diana, what a trooper you are and your recaps are as enjoyable as ever! I'm feeling better now and hopefully will be recapping again next week.

Sly Karen was using all her tactics to get Aaron to spill all of Fausto's secrets, but Aaron won't sing to a woman who is just his novia...but he will to the woman who is his wife!! Anyone hear Karen's brakes? LOL

Darcy thanks for summarizing the Leo and Chuchi conversation. Poor Chuchi, her assumption really caught Leo off guard. I am glad that she confided in Dani about it; and Leo shared his troubles with Memo who did a good job in explaining what Chuchi must be feeling.

I was really surprised that Cesar told Ursula about Yolanda..and they seemed so chummy, that was ODD!

Ursula is quite persistent in trying to pit Memo against Dani. She was trying to convince Memo that Dani had an ulterior motive for setting up the meeting between Fausto and Memo...and Dani just wanted to look like the "good guy."

And yes, Dani did use the "d" word! She told Fausto that just a few days ago, she was going to ask him for a divorce and changed her mind, but now she will seriously think about it. After his horrible, abusive reaction, divorce shouldn't be just a consideration...it should be done!

The episode ended after Leo told Memo that he had just married Ursula and (Memo) looks even more "achicopalado" (colloquial for "sad").

Darcy, thank you! I could not for the life of me understand what happened with Chuchita! I can respect and appreciate her wanting marriage to be part of their sleeping together but she needed to make it clear then. I think Leo is going to need to fast track his plans.

I don't believe there is really an "associate." I think Braulio will probably use his ill-gotten money to fake the unknown associate so he can take over the business. Could he have been Silvano's spy but got greedy?

It looked like Cesar spilled the beans about Yolanda by accident. When he and Ursula were arguing he said something about "you're just like your uncle, you have two husbands and he has two wives." He immediately got this "Oops!" look on his face but it was too late. Ursula picked up on it immediately.

I almost didn’t watch this one as I thought I would be too lost. Thanks, also, for the background on Erik. So glad I was told here that it wouldn’t really be a part 4. I have really enjoyed this one- might end up as one of my favorites!

Thanks, Diana, I just finished watching this episode. It’s kind of bad when friends invite you over and you then start thinking how early you can leave, or how late you can stay up, in order to watch the telenovelas. I didn’t rush home, and decided sleep was needed after watching Vencer!

The two husbands in this could really turn someone away from marriage! Fausto yelling at Dani was awful. I’m glad JuanPa witnessed it and stood up for her. But I wish he hadn’t gone so far as to move out. Dani needs him there! Macario was awful, the way he tossed the book on the table. I was a teacher and have librarians in the family so we’ve always treated books with care! He did manage to be kind of polite to Eugenio. But he looked pitiful listening in on his family. But I didn’t feel sorry for him

Ursula is something else. She finds out her uncle has another woman so invites her over for a manicure. Kind of brazen. And then good old Macario yells and manhandles her to get her out. Too many people know the secrets in this. But I think it will be Grace that spills the beans-probably to Gabby in a fit of jealous anger.

Misael is a misery and has no respect for anyone . As we all say, what ever attracted Julia to this caveman?

Rayo is surely Homero's daughter.When this fact is finally revealed , it will be good for both of them.

I agree that Braulio has invented this new partner . He is going to take over Funes.

Esther is abrasive , but she is trying to show the truth about their husbands to both Celeste and Julia. Go, Esther .

Anacandy is pathetic .Why would someone ever want someone who doesn't want them?

So true! Also, I now find I'm making plans to go out for lunch rather than dinner so I can't miss the shows!

Macario is careful never to speak to Amparo the way Fausto speaks to Daniela. I'm sure the close proximity of her father and brothers is a huge deterrent. Also, he doesn't want to do or say anything to jeopardize his relationship with Amparo. And her land/money. Further, I don't think Amparo would put up with anything close to what Daniela has. I am not criticizing Dani though. She has no protection; Memo is gone and now with JP's departure she is completely alone.

Ahhh, so Ursula invited Yolanda over for a manicure! Thank you Liz, I wondered why she had her makeup bag with her.

Urban, I join you and the others in giving a big congrats to whoever it was who suggested that Homero was Rayo’s biodad. I wonder how long it will be until it comes out.

Ursula is more than brazen; I wish I had her chutzpah. However, there is so much shit to hit the fan later. Like her and Cesar trying to steal Daniela's car.

Chuchita is very naive; I hope she didn't get pregnant, but since there was no talk about contraception... We know how the rest of the family would react.

Daniela needs to file for divorce ASAP. She can call witnesses to Fausto's public verbal abuse. I wish she knew the contents of his father's will. She and Isabella will need protection. JuanPa, where is your red cape?

Who else thinks the last few episodes will be very tense?

Eugenio and Daniela have little interaction, at least from what we've seen. If he saw the way Fausto treated her, he might think twice in honoring his friends' wishes...I hope she moves forward with the divorce but she really has no one to lean on except her duplicitous best friend...

I think things will get very tense!

Camino – Capitulo 42 – Part 1 of 4

Dani and Chuchita talk about her experience with her first time. It was romantic and all but now she has doubts because Leo doesn’t want to get married like she thought. Dani tells her that doesn’t mean he doesn’t love you! She says it’s obvious that Leo is crazy about Chuchita. Maybe it’s just not the right time to get married. Leo probably wants to make money and get established so he’ll have something to offer. Chuchita says she doesn’t care about that but Dani points out that Leo does. Dani asks about the potential Chucha could get pregnant but she says they used protection. Still Dani thinks Chucha needs to see a gynecologist and get birth control and also be able to ask any questions she has; Dani will take her himself.

Ursa and Cesar in bed again. She says he’s like a drug, she can’t quit him no matter how she tries. He wants her to give up the lie and go back to her real life. She wants to give him money so he’ll leave once and for all.

Gaby and JuanPa talk. He tells her he moved out because he couldn’t stand his brother-in-law anymore and she’s proud of him for sticking up for himself. She tells him she’s going to quit her job tomorrow; she can’t stand looking at Falso everyday! JuanPa looks concerned.

Lupita lectures Sebas about drinking too much. Sebas says it’s a wedding what do you expect? Lupita says you’re right, we’re not together I have no reason to scold you. Sebas isn’t having the distance this time and tells her not to say that. He has done so much for her, so much to win her over. He’s never done this much for any other girl!! Lupita says if he wants to change, he should do it for himself not her. Sebas can’t take anymore, he tells Lupita, I like you, I am fascinated with you; I wanted to do this in a more romantic environment but oh well, will you be my girlfriend? Lupita is lovely when shocked! LOL

JuanPa doesn’t think Gaby should quit because she doesn’t have another job. Better she should talk to Eugenio and see if he will move her to another area of the company. Gaby says it isn’t a bad idea. She can’t stand looking at Falso. She also tells JuanPa that Sebas now knows Isa is Memo’s daughter.

Lupita asks if Sebas is drunk and he denies it. She says she doesn’t believe him but Sebas says he’s never been more serious about anything. He wants to be with her not just now but forever! He’s not proposing now but he’s serious he wants to be with her. Lupita’s face looks delighted but her mouth keeps saying no. She got her hopes up once and Sebas hurt her really badly. Sebas makes his pleas a mile a minute and at one point Lupita does say ‘si’ which makes him nearly dance in celebration but she was talking to the man behind him who wanted his check. Sebas keeps begging and Lupita keeps saying I don’t know until the impatient man asks again and Lupita goes off to get his check. Sebas is left with a maybe, lol. His look of disappointment is hilarious.

Ursa is thinking back to Cesar’s plan to take the baby when Memo comes in and offers to help change the sheets! LOL He says Ursa looks nervous and she says she’s lonely because she just got married and she’s more alone then ever! She doesn’t get the tiniest bit of attention from him. He doesn’t care about her or the baby, all he thinks about is Isa and Dani. She stalks off and locks herself in the bathroom.

Cesar IS planning to sell his own son/daughter on the black market!!! Mac overhears his conversation as he tries to figure out how much he can sell for! Mac confronts Cesar and he tries to suggest Mac heard wrong but Mac isn’t buying that. He plays righteously indigent for a minute but then he gets down to it, he wants IN!!!! (Just when you thought Mac couldn’t get any lower)

 

Camino – Capitulo 42 – Part 2 of 4

Memo tries to get Ursa to come out of the bedroom by telling her how excited he is with the baby on the way. He describes all the things he wants to do with the baby and how he wants to take care of her too! She finally opens the door and tells him she loves him. Ursa is crying and hugging Memo, she doesn’t seem to notice he didn’t return the ‘te amo’.

Mac and Cesar make an unholy deal and toast to it.

Dani is still confiding to Karen. Karen says Falso is so horrible you are the only one who can stand him. Dani says he’s so bad since he found out Memo is Isa’s bio-dad. He yells constantly! Karen says she thinks he’s probably the same as always and Dani is just know noticing! LOL She tells Dani about how Falso laid into Gaby at the office the other day and had the poor girl in tears. Come to think of it, that’s probably why JuanPa is mad at him. Dani thinks JuanPa has good reason, Gaby doesn’t deserve that! Karen says it must be hard for Falso to even look at Gaby knowing she’s Memo’s niece.

JuanPa and Sebas talk about the Isa news and Sebas assures him mi case es tu casa. Sebas keeps looking at Lupita the whole time but she doesn’t turn. He says he’ll wait outside and then says ‘Bye Lupita’ which she turns and gives him a reluctant bye as well. JuanPa gets up and says bye to Gaby. The boys leave the Gaby says to Lupita it’s obvious something is up, what happened?

Falso and Aaron talk about Karen. Falso asks if Aaron really thinks he can get Karen to marry him and Aaron thinks so. Falso says Karen is putting ideas in Dani’s head and that’s betrayal. Aaron is clearly enjoying Falso’s discomfort and he says Karen is a dangerous woman and that’s one of the things he likes so much about her! Falso says he’ll support Aaron’s marriage to Karen, but he wants him to kill that trucker NOW!

Dani asks Karen about her relationship with Aaron and she says it’s good but Aaron is in a hurry, he’s already talking marriage! Karen wants to go slow though. Dani advises her not to do the same as always and Karen says Aaron is not the man of her dreams! Dani asks, who is the man of your dreams? Does he even exist? Or is he a fantasy? Karen thinks Dani is getting a little rude but Dani reminds her that she was the one to say a real friend tells you what they think not just what you want to hear. Karen says Dani is right, and she’ll have to think about it. Dani should think about it too. Dani says she’s a married woman, and now Memo is married too! Time to concentrate on Isa but Karen is single and should take advantage. Karen says she’s not in love but maybe in time. Dani leaves to see Isa before bed and tells Karen to take care of her brother.

Falso promises Aaron that Karen is his but Aaron doesn’t believe him. Falso promised shares in the company for killing his parents, Aaron killed them and he has no company shares. Aaron isn’t interested in words, he wants actions. He’s tired of losing. Falso promises he’ll talk to Karen the very next day, they toast.

Gaby and Lupita talk about how Sebas wants to change and be a better man for Lupita. She tells Gaby that Sebas asked him to be his girlfriend! Gaby is excited thinking Lupe said yes, but she says she didn’t. Gaby thinks Lupita is crazy, it’s obvious Sebas is crazy about her, but Lupita is scared that he will hurt her again.

Dani leaves the room after Falso is in bed, he asks where she’s going? To sleep with Isabella! Memo plays asleep when Ursa gets into bed. Dani whispers to sleeping Isa that she loves her and will protect her forever.

 

Camino – Capitulo 42 – Part 3 of 4

Next morning, Falso tries to kiss up to Dani by complimenting the garden. He actually says their marriage is perfect! LOLOLOLOL. Dani wants to have a serious conversation but Falso keeps interrupting. He claims he loves her and Isa so much and can’t live without them so he goes crazy when he thinks he could lose them!!! Dani is tired of the same old song; she wants a separation. She wants some time alone to think before deciding that divorce is their only option. She asks Falso to leave the house.

Memo and Ursa have the same conversation when Ursa knows Memo doesn’t love her or want her and Memo tries to convince her that he loves her and the baby and wants to be with them, even though he can’t bring himself to make love to her. He just needs time. Ursa wants Memo to tell her that he still loves her and he says he does and a lot! But he’s saying te quiero and not te amo.

Falso denies reality again and again and tries to argue they are a perfect couple and Memo is their only problem. Dani tries to point out all the real problems in their marriage but it falls on deaf ears. Falso asks point blank if Dani stopped loving him and she admits it!!!! She tells him she doesn’t love him anymore and she’s not going to lie, what she felt for him has left the house!!! (Go Dani Go!!!) Falso asks if she’s in love with another man, like Memo?

Yolando is giving Mac advice on how to manipulate Amparo into letting him stay in the house. They discuss how to prove whether Amparo still loves him and Yo says if she doesn’t let you stay, don’t you dare come here! You have to stay on the property because if it comes to divorce you can’t look like you abandoned the home. Stay and get everything!!! They cackle and plan, I stopped listening to this mess.

Speaking of people who I don’t want to listen to, Falso is now grilling Dani about whether or not she’s in love with Memo. Dani doesn’t bite and says this is between them and not anyone outside of their marriage! It doesn’t work though and Falso goes on a rant of how long have you been lovers?? Dani smacks him but not hard enough!!! More arguing, more of Dani trying to talk about reality and Falso hiding behind Memo is the only problem. He promises if Dani is in love with Memo he’s going to find out!!! He stalks off and I hope he never comes back!

At the restaurant, Amparo sees Mac ready/pretending to leave and asks him why he’s leaving, he’s not recovered yet. He claims he’s leaving now, it’s time; Amparo looks pained.

Gaby asks Sebas how JuanPa looks when he sleeps! LoL Sebas assures her he doesn’t sleep with him. Gaby tells him Lupita told her he declared his feelings. He says and she said no. Gaby says, don’t worry, she said no, but she’s dying to say yes. Gaby tells Sebas she’s just scared she’s dreamed her whole life of finding love and she’s crazy about him, Sebas has hope again.

More of Mac manipulating Amparo they fight over him leaving and Amparo finally tells him to stay but just when he gets his hopes up, she clarifies, she wants him to stay until Chema gets home from school so he can tell him himself that he is leaving!!! Hehehe

Leo is helping Dani bring veggies in and runs into Chuchita of course. Dani tells Chucha to take the opportunity and talk things out with Leo, Chucha agrees.

Karen greets the devil with hugs and kisses, she gets cold anger and yelling in exchange. Falso claims Karen is behind ALL of Dani’s decisions. She’s a lying Viper and she’s trash! He isn’t going to let her get away it! He swears!

 

Camino – Capitulo 42 – Part 4 of 4

Leo tells Chuchita that he loves her with all his heart, he just thinks they should wait because he has nothing to offer her now. Chucha doesn’t care but Leo does because he wants to give her the life she deserves! He’s going to work so hard for her and their future kids. Chucha promises to help and support him. Leo swears that they will get married in one year!! Chucha is jump up and down exited to have a timeline!

Lupita is at school when Sebas shows up on a horse!!! LOL He took Gaby’s advice literally and is dressed to the nines. Lupita just says ‘Sebastain’.

More of Falso claiming Karen put the ideas of divorce in Dani’s head. He nearly chokes her as he warns he won’t lose all that money because of her. Falso has one question: Are Daniela and that damn trucker lovers?

Back to Sebas’s prince in shining amor proposal of noviasco! This time he does it by calling her princess and saying all the sweet nothings but with a crowd cheering behind him! Lupita says yes and sweet kisses ensue.

Karen denies that Dani and Memo are lovers and claims she has nothing to do with Dani asking for a divorce. She too tries to tell Falso the truth about how horrible he is to Dani but Falso has a mental block around the idea that he is anything but perfect. He says her arguments are almost convincing but she won’t fool him. She’s a tarantula….yada yada yada. Again, WHY does this woman love this jackass!!!

Chema asks why daddy is leaving and he says ‘I’ll be good! They tell him it’s not him. Next, Chema says it’s mom’s fault, she kicked him out! But even Mac denies it’s true. He says it was his decision. He needs to leave for a while so he and mom can work some things out. Chema is inconsolable and he wants to leave with daddy, Mac holds him close.

Dani tries to tell Isa too about her upcoming separation but I don’t think Falso will leave like she asked. Isa’s first concern is it’s about Memo and Dani assures her that’s not it. It’s hard to drag Isa’s attention away from Memo long enough to tell her what’s really up, but when Dani does, Isa’s reaction is ‘WHAT?’

Falso is now convinced that Karen and Memo are now aligned behind his back. Falso says Karen is stupid if she thinks he will run to her if he loses his fortune and Dani leaves him. Karen again says that he would have everything at her side, much more than the inheritance he stands to gain from his parents. Falso tells her again that he will NEVER be a kept man!!!

 

VENCER LA AUSENCIA #54 Page 1

Notes from the couch . . .

1. After Homero sits up and shouts out not to hurt Margarita, Rayo turns to look at him and Doris' arrival draws the attention of Chilo the gunman.

2. Ester continues to demand that Misael tell her why her son didn't have his backpack. She insists that Iván never would have let it out of his sight or behind. Misael's explanations makes no sense to her. Misael asks her if she hasn't had enough already. If he was speeding in the truck, it was to SAVE Iván and Margarita. Now he is the one who has to face justice. He has had enough. She walks away.

3. The robbers take Mirna, Homero and Doris to the dining room, tie them up and gag them. (I have to admit it was great seeing Mirna get gagged) The chaos continues as Homero keeps trying to talk and Chilo continues to threaten him with the gun. Rayo tries to draw the attention to her. Chilo tells her and all of them to be quiet if they don't want to see Homero shot.

4. Braulio asks Celeste why she is so down. She blames it on her pregnancy. He thinks it is something else and reminds her that he is there to take care of her. He tells her how enthralled he is with the tie she gave him. She says it is nothing to compare with the bracelet he gave her. He won't give up where he got it or what he paid for it. He says it was something sentimental for him. He had a jeweler make it and it turned out to be more economical.

6. Mati texts Chilo asking him what is going on. It is taking too long.

7. Angel and Julia pull up and get out of his car. Mati sees them and takes off. Julia thinks she is the same girl that was recommended to work there. Julia suggests they better call the police. Angel agrees. He also starts calling his father and sister. Nobody answers. One of the robbers sees the calls coming in on the phones he is stealing.

8. Teo is texting Mati asking her how it is going. Flavia is eating supper and smiling. She asks who he is texting. He says a pal from school. It is about homework. She wonders why she asks since she knows that he is a full fledged man knowing exactly what he is doing. She hopes he knows enough to get good grades because if he doesn't she will pull him from school and send him to work. She comments that she is done with her supper and if he is hungry, he can make his own. It is part of being grown up. He starts to complain but Flavia is not budging. Jero walks in asking what is going on.
 

VENCER Part 2

9. Lenar complains to the boys that it is as if Donato has disappeared. He won't answer any of her calls. She doesn't want to hear any of their suggestions. They still think that Donato is a great guy. She asks if their father found place to Iive. Adair says he is renting a room from Flavia.

10. Angel decides to go inside the house because his father and Mirna could be in trouble. Julia tries to dissuade him because police are on the way. She cannot stop him and he tells her to wait outside.

11. Angel enters the house and assesses the situation. He starts going upstairs.

12. In the dining room, Rayo is standing and eyeing the gun on the other end of the table where the Funes are tied up. She tries to move closer to it but is stared down and into retreat when Chilo notices. He puts the gun in his waistband. Chilo continues packing up what he is stealing as Angel carefully enters the dining room. Chilo notices and pulls his gun on Angel. Rayo jumps on Chilo's back as Angel rushes him. There is a fight for the gun and it goes off.

13. Julia hears the gunshot. All of the robbers pack up and hurry to leave the premises. As Julia wonders where the police are, she gets knocked down by the exiting robbers. Chilo is then the last one out pointing the gun at her. She runs into the house.

14. Jero offers to talk to Teo if he needs somebody to hear him. Teo says he doesn't need a stranger to do that, he has his dad. Flavia is horrified by his reaction. Jero says to leave him alone. He knows her son is at a difficult age. That is why he won't be staying long at her place. He doesn't want to make things harder than they are. She is in the middle of a divorce and Max thinks there is something going on between them. She doesn't care. Her divorce will be final in a month. She wants to chat. He needs to go sleep. He has to be up early.

15. Rayo is screaming from pain. Angel wraps her arm saying it is only a graze wound. He then frees his family members. Julia checks with Rayo and calls for an ambulance. Homero has retreated into his own world.

16. Ester is telling Max how Misael's story about the backpack makes no sense. Iván never left it out of its sight. Max says it would be just better to let it go. She isn't going to stop investigating . He wants to concentrate on Denis. She says she can do both.
 

VENCER Part 3

17. Rodolfo and Chepina wonder where Julia is. Misael comes in asking where Julia is. Chepina says she is making deliveries. He asks at this time???? He wants to know who is taking care of his son. Chepina says it should be him, right? He is the boy's father. Better he be looking after him than packing away the beers. Her Julia isn't out partying like "others". She is making a living. He starts to complain about her "working" hours when Rodolfo informs him if anybody is giving him a chance to live here with his daughter it is him. He warns him to not start getting involved in any his "adventures." Misael says he had to go relax because of all of his problems. Rodolfo tells him that he is not the only one who has problems. Misael swears he won't be going out partying. He is going to work so his Julie doesn't have to. Rodolfo hopes that is true and gives him the look as he takes another drink of coffee.

18. There is still mayhem at Angel's house as they try to take care of Homero. Rayo starts screaming again when Julia tries to put some medication on her graze wound. Mirna doesn't understand how Rayo got wounded if she was one of them. Rayo insists that she wasn't one of them. The ambulance arrives as Mirna wonders if Rayo was a part of the crime or not.

19. Gina is all self-absorbed deciding which photo of herself to post as Erik is along of the ride. He knows that her social media is a big deal for her but he frankly doesn't care for it. She puts the phone away and let him know she is ready to have sex responsibly. They start to kiss when Erik pulls away. He tells her that he wants to do this the right way. She says there is nothing bad about sex. They are a couple. Erik isn't too sure because he and his ex started out like this with sex and he doesn't want her . . Gina is frustrated and tells him that she isn't his ex and that their relationship is not the one he had with his ex. He just doesn't know. She angrily tells him to let her know when he does. She says to just drop the topic if he is going to say he doesn't feel like it or that he is tired. That won't work. She doesn't want to make him uncomfortable. They will see each other another time.

20. Mati is upset as she sees Chilo and company running with bags filled with their steal. She wants to know about Mati. Chilo tells her that she and Rayo are stupid. Mati was supposed to have warned them. Mati apologizes but is desperate to know where Rayo is. He tells her she had better pray for her friend. They had to use the gun because of Mati's stupidity and her friend got hit and could be bleeding out and meeting St. Peter right now. Maybe that would be the best way to keep her mouth shut.
 

VENCER Part 4

21. Rayo tells her whole story to Angel, Mirna and the police about how she came to live in their home. She had a copy of the key to the house. Julia is there to support her. The officer asks if there is anything else to add to her statement. Rayo starts to cry. She is so sorry but she didn't know where to go. She was so afraid of having to to live on the street even if that is no justification. She gets hysterical telling them she will pay them back for all of the food she ate. Mirna has no pity for her. She thinks Rayo needs to be arrested. Angel asks her to have a little compassion. Rayo is a victim, too. Mirna isn't convinced. Julia stops them from arguing. She knows that Rayo didn't do the right thing but Rayo is a good girl. Her mother died just awhile ago and she is all alone. She lost everything. Can they try to understand her? Rayo swears she had nothing to do with the guys that came in and robbed them. She didn't approve of what they were doing. The police officer says they cannot arrest her for robbery because there is no evidence. It is all up to the owners of the house. They could accuse her of home invasion and she would be sent to a reform school. Rayo begs them not to do that. Angel tells Mirna that they are not going to file any charges against Rayo. Mirna does not agree. The officer says that Rayo needs to be taken to a hospital so she can be attended to.22. Mati talks to her minion. She is afraid of Rayo being wounded or even dead. He says he warned her about Chilo and the terrible things he did. What is worse is that she got Rayo involved. She needs his help because Chilo warned her about keeping her mouth shut. He says if Rayo talks, she will be asking for a bullet, too. She is going to get some money from Teo and disappear for a while, maybe in the house she had an eye on for Rayo.

23. Max reminds Ester that she has to go about getting custody legally. She knows. She is trying to locate Cinthia's family. He will supply her with the forms she is going to need. Ester gets a text about Rayo.

24. Celeste gets a text about Rayo. She decides to go see her at the hospital against Braulio's wishes. He can either drive her or she will go alone. He ends up taking her.

25. The doctor has come to see Homero. He says Homero is suffering from shock. He has given him some medication so he wakes up feeling much better tomorrow. Julia calls Angel to tell him that Rayo is at the hospital being treated. He tells Julia to keep him updated on Rayo. Mirna is incensed when she hears that.

26. Sergio shows up to be with Mirna. She tells him all about the girl who was living in their house.
 

VENCER Part 5

27 .Ester, Celeste and Julia are at the hospital with Rayo. Rayo thanks them for being there. They want to know what happened to her. They all agree that they were too involved in their own issues but Rayo wasn't being totally honest with them either. They know that her mother taught her right from wrong. Rayo agrees and is so embarrassed. She dissolves in tears and the friends all hug her. Rayo is happy to see them back together again even if it is to scold her. She misses her mother but she also missed the friendship they all had. They all end up laughing.

28. Mirna is grateful that Sergio came by to calm her down. He wishes he could have done more. Mirna say it was like horror movie and does poor imitation from "Psycho". Sergio understands that her brother doesn't want to file charges against the girl. He doesn't agree, neither does Doris or Mirna.

29. Homero is happy that Angel is there. He had a bad dream where some guys wanted to steal from him. There was "her" ghost there, too. Angel thinks he is referring to the girl who was hiding in the house. Homero disagrees. It was "her" ghost. Angel explains who Rayo is. Homero doesn't understand. How did he think that he had dreamed her.

30. Rayo knows she did wrong but she talks about the Funes family and how Homero caught her a few times but he would just stare at her and not do a thing. He never told anyone. She says the weirdest thing was when the thieves came into the house, Homero called her by her mother's name. Ester tells her that she might not know it but her mother worked at the Funes company. Rayo's mother never told her. Julia thinks Homero's reaction could be due to his senility. Celeste thinks it happened because Rayo and her mother look so much alike. Rayo thinks it would be odd that he would remember her mother's name out of all the employees who work at his company. They decide it is time to leave.

31. Julia comes in and Misael is on her case for coming home so late. She tells him to change his tone. She told her father that she was coming home late. Misael says that she should have told him because he is her husband. She tells him to take it down a notch. She was at the hospital with Rayo. She reminds him that he never let anyone know what happened when he disappeared. He reminds her that he was kidnapped. He wants to know how she got tangled up with Rayo's business. She gets up and tells him she will tell him tomorrow. He grabs her by the arm again (REALLY??? ) She tells him to let her go and they argue. Danny comes out asking them not to fight. Misael doesn't miss the opportunity to blame Julia.

32. Flavia tells Jero he is everything that anyone could ever want in a man. He doesn't think so. She wonders why Ester didn't fall in love with him. He leaves for work.
 

VENCER Part 6

33. Danny tells his mother that today is Sunday so he would love for all three of them to go for a walk and a picnic. Misael thinks it is a great idea. He admits that he went too far last night. He is asking for a chance to make it up to her. Julia likes the idea but they are going to go in a big group. They are going to invite Gina, Chepina, Rayo Celeste,. . . Misael looks defeated. Danny is happy that everyone is going.

34. Angel brings Homero his breakfast in bed. Homero hasn't stopped thinking about yesterday. Angel tells his father he can forget about it.They got the locks changed. They filed a complaint against the robbers. Now if only the police can catch them! Homero doesn't want any charges to be made against the girl who he thought was a ghost. Angel tells him that the girl has a name. Her name is Rayo and she s one of Julia's neighbors. Homero says she looks just like Margarita. Angel is curious as to which Margarita his father is talking about. Homero changes the topic to his breakfast. They will talk later.

35. Ester tells Rayo the friends are taking her on an outing to La Marquesa (park in Mexico City) . It is to show her that all of the friends care about her. It is not to approve of what she did. Rayo says she is so very sorry and dying from the shame of it all. Ester says it is good that she knows that she made a mistake. It speaks well of her and it could help her deal with the consequences the Funes might want to impose. Rayo gets that. She feels just terrible thinking about don Homero and his family. The doorbell rings. It is Flavia.

36. Flavia is looking for her payment from Ester. Flavia cannot believe that juvenile delinquent is in Ester's house. Ester will not allow her to bring her scandals into her home or to offend Rayo. If Flavia is looking for her payment she can wait or she can file charges against her. She can do whatever she wants. Ester is not about to put up with her. Flavia wants to complain about Rayo. Ester tells her she doesn't want to hear anything else from her. Finally, Flavia slithers out.

37. Teo tells his dad that he doesn't need any money for clothes. Better that he give him money so he can save for his tennis shoes. Max wants to know if he really wants the money for his tennis shoes or is it because he is interested in a girl. Teo wants to know how he knew. Max remembers what is it to be that age. Teo knows he is new at all of this but he feels like he has fallen in love. He explains that he wants money so he can have relations with her at a great place. Max is so happy that he has confided in him. He wants to talk to him about some things that he might not even know yet. Teo says he know it all. His father agrees and they both laugh.
 

VENCER Part 7

38. Lenar tells Jero that she doesn't understand why he is living with his partner. Is he having something to do with her? Jero says that Lenar is the same as everyone else. They do not believe that a man and woman can have a friendship and nothing more. He suggests that she and he could be friends. Lenar says no. She doesn't want that. She wants him to give her another chance. She is open to doing whatever it takes to get him back.

39. Julia is getting the whole group together to go to the park. Ester has brought Rayo so she knows she isn't alone. Rayo loves them a bunch. Rodolfo, Danny and Misael come to join the group and they prepare to leave. Ester talks about Margarita's great guacamole. Rayo says the recipe was in her mother's recipe book that she lost at the Funes house. They are leaving when they are confronted by social service workers. They are looking for Rayo. Rayo identifies herself. They need her to go with them to clarify how and where she is living due to the fact she is an orphan. Also, she has to answer to the charge of robbery that was filed against her by Mirna Funes.

40. Homero is in his bedroom with a smile on his face as he reads recipes from Margarita's recipe book. Angel asks what he is reading. Homero says it is an old book; memories. Angel asks him why he doesn't want to tell him. Homero laughs. He puts the book away and tells Angel that maybe the time has come to tell Angel something. Now that he is 100% with it, he would like to tell him. If he mentioned Margarita before, it is because the girl in the house reminded him a lot of her. Angel says the fact of the matter is that Rayo is Margarita's daughter. Angel wants to know who Margarita is for his father. Homero says it isn't easy for him, but they will talk it out. He asks Angel if he remembers the time he found him in his office with another woman. . . Angel concludes that the woman was Margarita.

Darcy, your words threaded the needle, your wry wit and razor-sharp intuition wove an intricate tapestry embroidered with every conceivable human emotion including love, hate, envy, avarice, jealousy, and cruelty. Truly exceptional.

“Falso says Karen is stupid if she thinks he will run to her if he loses his fortune and Dani leaves him” leaves no room for misinterpretation. It is painfully crystal clear. Yet “Karen again says that he would have everything at her side, much more than the inheritance he stands to gain from his parents”. Despite Karen’s obsession with Fausto, the lengths she has gone (including murder for causing Daniela to miscarry), Fausto has now debased and demeaned Karen in every possible way. Surely this point-blank rejection is seeping into her consciousness?

Ursula makes a deal with Satan to sell her child in order to marry someone who doesn’t love her. Satan (Cesar) is willing to sell his own child and Macario (the devil) is willing to sell his niece’s child. Evil is pervasive here.

Daniela finally comes to her senses and tells Fausto the truth; she no longer loves him. But like others here, he will not accept it and turns the tables accusatorily. Memo will not tell Ursula the truth but she sees and feels what is unspoken; he does not love her and his heart is with Dani and Isa.

For the best of or the worst of intentions, to decimate feelings or to spare them, decisions are being made with far-reaching consequences.

Chuchita and Leo are hopefully on the road to their happy ending. Sebastian’s horseback riding mission of love was so sweet. I loved his outfit and her wide, shining eyes when he saw her.

Jarifa, every amazing recap you’ve written is a sterling, standalone chapter comprising this intriguing, engrossing story.

The invasion/robbery had me on the edge of my seat and was gripping and all too lifelike. Mercifully, it was not overly drawn out although there were several very tense moments.

“Homero has retreated into his own world” completely drew me in. His past, his present and his cloudy future is hopeful, hurtful and heartbreaking. Will he and Rayo have what should be a joyous reunion and if so, will there be any time to savor it? I loved that it was Homero who had Margarita’s recipe book and I enjoyed his smile and obvious enjoyment while reading it.

How sad that it took Rayo being shot to finally bring the women back together and realize they have not taken care of her as they should have. Mirna was a huge annoyance (as she always is) without the slightest bit of empathy. I’ve said this before but who IS Sergio? Is he a good warlock or a bad warlock? Enquiring minds must know.

It didn’t seem as though anyone bothered to tell Teo that Rayo had been shot. Am I wrong about that? Mati does seem contrite (although she likely doesn’t know yet exactly what happened). I hope Rayo severs their ties and that Teo realizes who it is he truly cares for.

Angel handled himself very well. He didn’t panic and took care of Rayo while being supportive and non-judgmental. He clearly loves his father and is a kind and caring son and a good brother. I have to say I was sidetracked by Danilo Carrera’s eyelashes which are thick and full. A very handsome man. Sorry, I digress..

I had to smile that for someone who has been dropped by more women than anyone else here, Jero is certainly a hot commodity. Now, Ester, Flavia and Lenar all want him! I wondered if Jero had told Ester that he helped Cinthia. If not, as she is suing for custody, I wonder if this might be another sticking point.

“Gina is all self-absorbed deciding which photo of herself to post as Erik is along of the ride. He knows that her social media is a big deal for her but he frankly doesn't care for it” was very insightful. I’m not feeling this pairing at all; Erik should go back to Fabiola and Gina should spend some time with Ebe.

Misael is a bully and an abuser. I’m tired of his glowering and the way he treats Julia is despicable. And please, button up.

Gracias, Darcy. I missed watching a lot of the epi last night, but thanks to your excellent writing I can "see" all the anguish, joy (Sebas and Lupita), and subterfuge that was popping last night.

I'll admit I have gotten a kick out of Cesar, who is no damn good but does have a sense a humor and likes toying with deception. But now that he's serious about selling his own baby, I'm appalled. He seems too sentimental about his feelings for Ursula to do something so low, but what do I know?

Yay! Amparo will not take Macario back. But now I'm on pins and needles wondering how low Macario will go to get his hands on her land. Yolando is beyond annoying talking so confidently about taking Amparo's land.

Karen was my favorite, laying it on the line with Dani: "Karen says she thinks he’s [Fausto's] probably the same as always and Dani is just now noticing!" -- LOL!

Could Fausto be so nasty to Karen at the end to goad her into marrying Aaron?

I'm confused about the age of Lupita. I thought she was college age, but maybe she's still in high school?

Thanks, Darcy, a great recap. Thank goodness for the romance of the younger generations, as there’s not much, or any, love in the middle aged ones!

I like the relationship Dani has with Chuchita. More like a caring older sister to younger than employer to employee. And Dani was right on with what she said about Leo.

Ursula and Cesar really belong together. They have more in common and the chemistry is there. They can’t stay away from each other! I can’t wait until they’re caught! She goes on and on to Memo about his one kiss with Dani while she seems to spend her nights with Cesar. It would be good to know how some of these characters really feel. Is Mac really just with Amparo for the money or does he love her and just leading Yolanda on. Does Ursula really love Memo or is she looking at the money too. I wonder if she would allow Cesar to sell their child? She’s been good with the kids but does she want one of her own to love, not just to trap Memo! Inquiring minds want to know! Mac is less and less likable in every episode. As is Fausto. He did seem to treat Dani better at the beginning.

Sebastian was great when he rode up on horseback! And he gave good advice to Gabby.

The robbery scenes were exciting. Especially when we heard the shot. I do hate that the robbers got away. Hope they get caught with all the goods so the family can get their stuff back.


Finally Homero knows who Rayo is and that she’s real. How long before a DNA test. Angel will take the news well. Mirna will have a cow! I can’t wait. How rotten of Mirna to basically have her locked up. I feel Sergio agreed with her just to win points with her. He has to be up to something! Right now he’s much too nice for Mirna. Who I think less of each time I see her. She really makes her dad out to be an inconvenience. I hope Angel gets Rayo out!

At least Mati seems a little concerned about Rayo. Although since she’s planning to get Teo’s money and leave town she’s not to worried about her friend.

Misael is awful. Grabbing Julia. And I hate how he tells Danny it’s his mother doing. If her dad would witness this stuff he would surely throw the bum out.

Loved the “Flavia slithers out”. She does seem to slither around getting on my nerves anyway. I wonder how long before Jero decides living anywhere is better than with her. Teo should not have to cook his own meals, she’s going a little to far with him. Since she’s committed no crimes her best ending would be for Teo to live with his dad somewhere.

Can’t wait to see what Monday brings us.

I'm so glad the friends have rallied around Rayo and the poor girl hasn't wound up in jail.

That said, I do understand Mirna thinking that Rayo was in on the home invasion. If the police connect Chilo and Mati and Rayo, it won't look good for her.

At least Mati did care about Rayo possibly being shot. We know Rayo's background and what led her to freeload in Homer's home and steal, but Mati has a background too that's led her to be this outcast leader. I'd like to know what it is and wonder why we never see her so-called father. I'm glad Mati's friend chided her for dealing with Chilo. Will this be a wakeup call for Mati too? Probably not.

Homer enjoying going through Margarita's cookbook is so sweet. Looking forward to him telling all to Angel.

Liz, great question about whether or not Ursula loves Memo. I think she loves the idea of him. He is a good and honest person, has a wonderful family, is gainfully employed and handsome to boot. The land may also be a lure although is it all Amparo's? I'm not clear on that point.

Thank goodness the women are finally snapping out of if and noticing that Rayo has been alone and struggling to survive . yay. On the other hand, Flav and Mirna have absolutely NO empathy ...none .

Everybody wants Jero, but we know that he is destined for Esther after she solves the mystery of exactly why the accident happened and she simmers down about Denis . I am sure that she will have an epiphany about Cinthia , too. ....followed by a HEA.

Flav is now determined to snare Jer while Lenar suddenly wants him back now that other mujers are interested in him . Jer has become a hot commodity.

And teen sex seems to be a major theme in this show. What a change from the old telenovelas in which even the leads remained chaste until marriage. Sign of the times ??? I don't think the pendulum will ever swing back.

Diana, I’m just guessing but the land should belong to the dad, Huberto. I think it was his wife’s restaurant. So all three siblings should some day get equal shares. But everyone seems to be trying to get Amparo to sell.
Which doesn’t make sense to me. But why would only one sibling own it when they all live there.

Liz, yes, usually parents pass their belongings to their children equally. When Fausto wanted to buy the land, it was Amparo that he asked. My impression is that it seems to be her decision. As you noted, all three siblings live there and while it would make sense that the land will pass to all three, she does seem to have the final say...

I don’t think the land came from the mother. If that were the case, it would probably still be Humberto’s since he is still alive. Given the way their marriage is painted as perfect and loving it seems unlikely they would have had unshared property or that she would have left hers to the children instead of her husband while he was still living. It also does appear that the land belongs to Amparo alone. Although I am not sure at all, I seem to remember something about it being grandma’s land?? Amparo is the oldest I believe, maybe grandma died after Amparo was born but before Memo or Leo so she left her property to her (at the time) only grandchild?

I'm a bit late to the party, but have been enjoying the discussion since the get-go. First and foremost, thank you, Darcy! What an episode! There was a bit of everything and anything, but you covered it amazingly!

I don't have much to add to the discussion. I too was appalled that Cesar intends to sell a baby that he believes to be his own...and Mac tagging along is distubing as well; I never thought they would stoop so low.

In regards to the restaurant, I have no idea why Amparo is the sole decision-maker; and I don't recall anything mentioned about the grandmother. But I do have a different theory. Martina had the restaurant and rentals (along with the land) as a business; and Humberto has the trucking business. It could be that they decided that the restaurant would go to Amparo and the trucking business would go to the sons. It's somewhat sexist, but given what we know about Humberto's values, it wouldn't surprise me that he would expect the "female" to take over the restaurant.

I think both Lupita and Gaby are out of high school with Lupita being the older one and the only one interested in furthering her education.

Ursula is the biggest mystery so far regarding our set of villains. On the one hand she appears to be her uncle's accomplice in trying to steal the value of Amparo's lands, hence she went after hot Guillermo to enter the family. However, I don't think she has the same chemistry with him as she does with Cesar.

I also started wondering what Ursula would feel if she knew what Cesar was planning for the baby. Would she care at all or would she be flooded with all those maternal hormones and fight Cesar tooth and nail? Character names often mean something and hers means "she-bear." Mama bears are among the most dangerous when their offspring are threatened. Since this novela doesn't have the atmosphere of La Madrastra or Cuna de Lobos we could be looking at a woman who will be protecting her child no matter who is the sperm donor. In which case we need to watch her other actions to determine how the writers are likely to deal with her.

We don't know when Martina died or what from. I think she lived long enough to teach Amparo how to cook as well as she does which means that she died when Amparo was a teen. Amparo would have been about 20 when she married Macario as I doubt that he would have had Martina's approval. Memo would have been a young teen by then and Leo probably 9 or 10. Gaby is at least 19 or 20 years old now and Lupita isn't much younger, since they seem to hang with the same crowd. As to the family's financial data, I think Martina had the restaurant and the majority of the land on which it sits. It has enough room for a parking lot and for Humberto to have started the trucking business. He would have been trustee until Amparo turned 18 (which probably wasn't long thereafter) and established herself as a more than competent business owner. Humberto's will as it currently stands probably leaves the trucking business to his sons. Hence, Amparo owns the lands because they had previously been owned by earlier generations of her maternal family. This may be statistically unusual but not contrary to Mexican inheritance law.

The revelation that Aaron killed Fausto's parents reveals yet more evil. As a True Crime buff I always wonder about motives for this sort of murder. This one may be a combination of greed and control. Rudolfo's will reveals that he was something of a control freak but he may have had a valid reason. If so, he did it quite cleverly by insuring that Fausto only had monthly allowances and that everything would go to Isabella when she becomes an adult. Of course, he didn't seem to have even a thought that Fausto would attempt to steal that inheritance. However, if it stated that Fausto had to remain married for him to get anything at all that should not fly.

Other than the possibility that Karen and Fausto have some kind of bizarre sex thing going on we have no idea what the attraction is. Is it possible that Aaron has a bigger and better game for her? He looks good in a suit and definitely looks better shirtless.

Since Daniela's parents had dinero I am guessing that Chuchita was probably the daughter of a servant in their house. I hope Daniela kept any inheritance she got under her own name only.

Sebastien had better live up to that horseback display.

She would probably freak if she heard about the plan while she's still pregnant. This is why I think there might need to be a time jump to the birth when somebody might have to foil the attempt or chase Macario and Cesar.

Interesting discussion. It was great that Leo and Memo (even if they don't have rights themselves to the land) let Amparo know they would support any decision she made, putting no pressure on her either way.

I agree, so far Ursula has some good traits. She's shown no animosity toward Isabela, only toward Dani. When the show opened, Ursula didn't know about the land and was in love with Memo. She only found out about the land's value after Fausto made Amparo the offer and Macario told her about his scheming. The thing about her is she's been pretending to be a better person than she is with Memo, but with Cesar she can be herself and let it all hang out.

Maybe the upcoming police experience will be enough to get her to make a break with Mati. My question is which one of the three friends is going to step up and take responsibility for her or will they let her flounder with the authorities on her own? This group of friends keeps talking about what they should have done/should do but I have yet to see if their support is long term.

Susanlynn, I am happy you are enjoying the recaps. I sure hope that Ester has “an epiphany about Cinthia”. You are so right about the teen sex theme. It was so interesting that Erik was the one who was putting the brakes on sex with Gina. Sounds like he learned his lesson with his Fabiola.

Excellent recaps and I agree with most of the character comments. I have nothing to add except that there is no better description of Misael as "caveman." He fits that perfectly in both appearance and attitude.

I think that this program genre is long overdue to finally deal with teen sex in a realistic way. It will happen whether parents like it or not. Contraception is legal and now abortion is finally legal so that no girl has to suffer like Mariluz in Amor Bravio. I think we will see more examples like the ones in these novelas of teens and college students taking precautions.
