#53 – A Ray of Light – Parte 1 de 2

Oleg, Pablo, and Teresa continue moving rocks. [Kate gets to show off those muscles Teresa got in prison, but that Kate got from a serious personal trainer.] Uh oh. We hear a rumble, and lots of rocks fall. The three aren’t hurt by the falling rocks, but Teresa gets a bit of claustrophobia and feels like she’s back in prison.

Senator Jay García has come to a scary part of D.C. We see that Epi has been behind it, telling him to meet some guy named Tony. Epi lies, saying this is part of getting the goods on Kozar.

Gen. Arismendi comes to tell Epi about Garrido’s suicide. Danilo, shocked, is told by Delio to come up with a sad press release about Garrido.

In Ecuador Pablo has a bad headache. Oleg has to tell him that it may not be dehydration. It’s probably lack of oxygen.

We see Sen. García arrive at the place Epi arranged. There’s some suspense as he walks past prostitutes and meets with some guys who tell him to wait right there. Charlie tells some other guy in this plot that it won’t be surprising that a man here to hire a prostitute might get mugged and killed.

Whoa! Just when I’ve written García off, Ernie shows up and saves him. I suppose they already knew each other, but I don’t remember how. And later I get one of my favorite scenes: Charlie beside himself when he’s been thwarted.

Sr. Margie speaks to the second in command at her convent. She tells her that the top priority is protecting Ray. She tells the nun that all of them should go to another convent. She’s arranged it

There are more negotiations with that sharp businesswoman in Colombia. When she tells them all will be ready the next day, Batman loses it. He’s worried about Sheila and doesn’t want to wait until the next day. Faustino makes me laugh, telling the nun that Batman se rambotizó. [I think this means he got like Rambo.}

Fedor, Sheila, Sofia, and Mateo arrive in some town in Colombia. They’re led into a hostel by the driver who picked them up. Like nearly all wounds in telenovelas, Sofia’s goes in one day to grave, muy grave. Fedor is suspicious when he overhears their hosts talk about sending for someone. But for once Mateo’s trust is confirmed. They’ve brought a 2nd year medical student to treat Sofia. They have no money, but the people have a method they call hacer vaca that sounds a bit like South American Go Fund Me in order to pay for the antibiotics.

Ernie and Sen. García talk as they drive away from the po’ side of D.C. Ernie tells him about hacking Charlie’s cell and learning about the plot to kill them both. When Ernie wonders why García would trust Vargas, García in turn wonders why he’d trust Kozar. Then García has an idea about where they could go; but this isn’t revealed this episode.

Bebita tells Danilo and Susana that she believes that Garrido committed suicide because she talked with him right before it happened.

#53 – A Ray of Light – Parte 2 de 2

A letter has arrived for Epi that contains that photo we saw quite a while back with Garrido handing Montaño a briefcase so he could tie his shoe IIRC. The note asks for $50,000 to keep quiet. Epi still is not convinced about M’s treachery, but Lt. Romo says he searched Montaño’s house and found $80K sent by Garrido.

We see Montaño getting back to Mexico from Colombia. The driver makes up some tale about why they’re not going to the Presidential Palace.

In Ecuador Pablo is hallucinating about his father in Nicaragua. He’s losing it.

Paloma is using a drone and looking, I think, to see if it’s safe to approach Faustino’s old hideout. Faustino then hires some guys to help look for Sofia and the others.

Sofia has had antibiotics; but, in an un-telenovela-like moment, they have yet to work. The woman who owns the hostel tells them they can only stay two days more.

Epi meets Montaño in that weird secret place he has in the Presidential Palace. Montaño gives Epi the phone he found and apologizes for not completing his mission. Epi shows him the photo with Garrido and doesn’t believe his protestations of innocence. Montaño is beaten and then shot. [General Garrido got his revenge desde la más allá (from the great beyond)].

In D.C., Kozar tells Charlie that García hasn’t shown up at his office yet. Charlie tells her that his house was empty. Then she asks about Palermo and hears that Ernie is also missing. Kozar orders him to call Epi. He calls on behalf of Kozar and asks if García has contacted Epi.

Epi wants Charlie to find Sofia and her friends. Kozar is more than happy to comply, but Charlie doesn’t want to go to Mexico. [Guess he thinks that, with Kozar, out of sight is out of mind.] She tells him that Vargas is right. That it’s not in their best interests that the daughter of Teresa Mendoza is walking around free. She wants him by Vargas’ side.

In Ecuador, things look bad in Higgins Hideaway. Pablo is on his last legs and Oleg as well. Teresa tells Oleg that she can’t be without him. Just then some more rocks fall, and we see an opening to the outside, presumably letting in some welcome oxygen.

Thanks VERY much, novelera, for this concise but complete and delightful recap. I loved your referring to "Sister Margie," and I enjoyed your saying, "And later I get one of my favorite scenes: Charlie beside himself when he’s been thwarted."

I also liked your pointing out that General Garrido got his revenge on Montaño desde la más allá.I do have one question about that. I was surprised that they uncovered a loose floorboard in Montaño's place and found $80,000 with several deposits from General Garrido's account. I remember how they got the seemingly incriminating photos of Montaño with Garrido, but where did the $80K come from, and especially how were there deposits from General Garrido's account?

I was actually glad to see that for once, Fedor was wrong. He thought the guy and his girlfriend were going to turn them in to the police, and that it was all Mateo's fault for being so open about their being wanted by the police. Instead, the neighborhood medic, with two years of med school behind him, comes to treat the seriously wounded Sofia. The actor playing Fedor did a good job of expressing annoyance and embarrassment as well as relief.

So Ernie's still in the game. He thwarts Charlie by saving Garcia. In this novela there are so many balls in the air at the same time. It's hard to imagine that the writers will tie up all the loose ends in just seven more days. Does that mean there will be a season 4? I'm not sure how I feel about that. Earlier today, dondi356 said about a possible season 4, "I just hope they don’t run the franchise into the ground." Amen to that. The last thing I'd want to see is "La Reina de los Depends"!

reina3

wow, thanks so much novelera !!!

Montaño's death was much to easy, but then he was always only following orders. I suspect General Garrido's helper/doer, helped set that up.

I would think Fedor would be the first to point out that the best way to connect with someone would be on the internet, why didn't they set something up, I have no idea how the Colombian team will come together.

everyone has memorized Tesa's number, right, but does she even have a phone, and Epi has Faustino's old phone, will she call that number?

speaking of phones, was that Charlie's phone flashing as he talked with Epi on Kozar's phone, why didn't he show that it must be bugged?

reina3

Gracias, Novelera. It didn’t dawn on me that that scary part of town was in DC. We’ve got rough patches here, but they’re more bleak and depressing to look at than glitzy and interesting. Thanks for explaining what Paloma was doing – I had no idea.

I'm expecting Fedor to hook up some thingamajigs so Team Colombia can gather info and contact Team Ecuador.

I can't tell what Charlie is thinking. Surely, it's crossed his mind that Ernie is out there foiling him.

Montaño was a good (evil) operative, carrying out Epi's orders with skill. Somehow a bullet in the head in a narrow hallway seemed anticlimatic.

reina3

Thanks for the recap, novelera, it was a fun read on the episode.

Tables are turning. Glad Ernie got to Sen. Garcia first. Not that I like Ernie, but I dislike Charlie a lot more.

So long, Montaño. Enjoyed his bewildered look before his execution.

I have tonight’s recap, which will be up sometime tomorrow.

reina3

Juanita: Thanks for mentioning that about the floorboard in Montaño's home. Usually people are framed by money being transferred into their accounts that they can't explain. But it is puzzling. How would Gen. Garrido, shown as honest to a fault, have enough resources to put $80K into Montaño's house? How the money got there went right by me. Since this was more or less a "quickie" I did not mention Fedor's (actually wiser) rage at Mateo for outing them as suspects. I also didn't mention Sofia's reaching out to prevent their punching each other. Amen on "La Reina de los Depends!"

deb: As usual you home in on something significant. I also expected Charlie to freak out at his flashing phone. Maybe tonight!.

Niecie: I doubt that red light district was really in Washington, D.C. This season, like some others, seems to show skylines of various cities where probably no filming was actually done. Did they mention that Fedor couldn't get any wi-fi in this village? Can't remember.

dondi: I kept thinking: What? Are they really going to assassinate a U.S. Senator on this show? Bold move. But I really hadn't guessed Ernie would save him until he actually showed up. Whew! I can hardly wait to see where García plans for them to hide out and what revenge Ernie has in store for Charlie.

reina3 #54 part 1

Lots of Telenovela transport magic in this one. I also had some TV reception issues and Telemundo hasn’t posted the ep so I can’t check. Please correct or add anything I’ve missed.

Ave Maria…Teresa wakes up in a bed, alone and confused. She wanders down a long hallway, into a room where she finds Oleg and Pablo. If I’m dreaming don’t wake me, she asks, because I’ll never forgive you. You’re not dreaming, Oleg answers, we got out, but that’s all we know. Pablo adds, and the money is accounted for. What’s going on? Senator Jay Garcia enters the room.

CDMX. Charlie and his new partner, Andres Arena, arrive at the presidential palace. Andres is nervous about meeting Epi. Andres also lets Charlie know his phone was bugged. Charlie knows it was that MF Ernie! And he probably had something to do with Garcia’s disappearance. Charlie tells Andres not to say anything about this and have the phone destroyed immediately.

They meet with Epi. Epi is glad to see Charlie and says he comes with good references for his work on Teresa Mendoza. Epi says he’s heard a lot about Ernie Palermo, too—he messed with Teresa and he got Vanessa to turn on me. Epi reflects on Vanessa, which really is a reflection on his own character. He misses her especially when it’s cold—she was a smokin’ hot bitch. Epi asks what happened to Ernie. Charlie tactfully replies that there were irreconcilable differences between Ernie and Kozar and he no longer works for the DEA.

Charlie shifts the subject and wants to get to work right away. He asks for all the info on the people they need to find. Epi says he can’t because these people gave his director of security the slip. Well, my ex-director of security, Epi explains, he had irreconcilable differences with the president of Mexico. All they have is the phone Montaño found and he hands it over to Charlie, who hands it over to Andres to inspect.

Carchi, Ecuador. Garcia explains the rescue. You were taken to a nursing home about one hour away from where you were found. It was the only discreet place they could quickly find. It was a group of mercenaries that got you out and brought you here.

Garcia gives us more backstory. He sent Epi “the picture”—the one that started this adventure to find the horsemen. Higgins had given it to him. Yes, he knew Higgins. He tried to sell Garcia the evidence once he realized his blackmail against Kozar would be unsuccessful.

Pablo asks, why did he come to you? Kozar and I have very different politics, Garcia replies. Unfortunately, Higgins was killed before we could reach an agreement. But he had enough time to send this photo and tell me about a certain informant: The Black Horseman. He didn’t mention any others.

Teresa doesn’t understand what Epifanio has to do with all this. Garcia says he needed someone who wanted to destroy Kozar as much as he did. Garcia admits, I never imagined he would team up with her. Teresa is surprised at this unlikely alliance. Garcia responds, a business offer was made to him. What you presented to him only whet his appetite.

Teresa exclaims, that SOB knows no limits! [this should not be a surprise to anyone after 3 seasons] Garcia answers, he’s (Epi) not loyal to anyone. He betrayed me like he did all of you. He told Kozar I was the informant and she ordered me killed.

reina3 #54 part 2

Pablo asks how he knew they were still alive. Garcia says he didn’t know. He thought they were dead. He came to Ecuador hoping to find evidence. Something that Epi might have overlooked. Did he tell you where the evidence was, Oleg asks. Garcia replies it was a partial location and after that it wasn’t hard to find them. He says the villagers heard the explosion. He was shocked to find them. He gives his condolences on Anton and says he arranged a burial. Teresa thanks Garcia.

Teresa asks if he’s seen everything on the disk. I didn’t quite get exactly what Garcia said but there was nothing found. Teresa is dismayed but Garcia tells her there is still one thing that can be done. He wants to make them an offer. I guess he will want to team up to take down Epi and Kozar.

Back to Colombia. Faustino’s group makes its way back to Mario’s mom [sorry, I don’t remember her name] Batman starts complaining that they’ve not done much to find Sheila and the others. Faustino begs to differ. They searched, they used drones. The argument escalates and almost comes to blows. Sister M and Paloma try to calm them. Mario’s mom comes in quashes the argument. She also has news that Padre G has been arrested. And she adds that they will have to pay her extra if any of the neighbors leave because of the racket they are making.

Teresa wonders how they will be able to get Epi without any evidence. Garcia is not sure either but he knows that they all have plenty of motivation to do it. Oleg asks the senator for his real motivation. Kozar represents the worst of my country, Garica answers, not all of us are like that. [how about that, there are a few decent Americans in gov’t after all.] He admits taking her down is practically impossible. She and her allies are very powerful. He says there are others on his side but they don’t have as many resources as Kozar. But there is enough for a battle.

Oleg asks what will happen if they don’t accept Garcia’s offer. Nothing, Garcia replies, you’re free to go if you want. You can even take the money Epifanio gave you. No one is under threat or being extorted and I’m not making false promises. Pablo says this is absurd. Kozar and Vargas are invincible.

A voice comes from out of a corner of the room. Nobody….. is invincible. Teresa has a flashback to her capture. Teresa knows that voice, it’s Ernie! She jumps to her feet. What is this SOB!!!..... He pulls his gun. Back off!!! Garcia holds Teresa back. We see more flashbacks… Teresa in prison… Ernie killing Jonathan. She shouts at Garcia, this bastard killed our people! This mf put me away for four years!

Garcia diffuses the situation and asks if they can have a civilized convo. He explains that Ernie saved his life and by that, theirs too. Teresa is incredulous. Should I thank him?! Ernie says to relax, no thanks necessary and btw, he doesn’t work for Kozar or the DEA anymore. Nobody changes sides just like that, Oleg opines. Ernie quickly responds, a certain Russian did. And I wouldn’t have if circumstances hadn’t forced me.

Garcia resumes, Kozar ordered my killing and she also wanted Ernie killed. And you believe him, Pablo asks. Ernie says that’s enough. I don’t have to convince anyone. And honestly, it was the senator’s idea to get you out of the cave. I would have left you there to rot. Teresa gets in Garcia’s face—if that POS stays, there’s no deal. He tells her if they want to destroy Kozar and Vargas, they must join forces. Ernie has valuable info. He wants both Ernie and Teresa on the team.

reina3 #54 part 3

Ernie tells Teresa he has info on Sofia. He informs her on the attack Vargas ordered but they escaped. How do you know, she asks. He tells her he’s been eavesdropping on convos between Kozar and Vargas. In the last one, Vargas asked Kozar’s help in finding your daughter and the others.

Sheila and the woman at the hostel (Viviana) are in the kitchen. The woman is preparing something that’s more water than soup to have enough for everyone. I didn’t realize this before, but Viviana is pregnant. Her baby is due any minute. She asks Sheila if she has any children. Sheila shakes her head no. Viviana says she never thought she would be pregnant again. I had reception blips during this scene, but I think she said she had a child who died. And she didn’t want to be pregnant again. I didn’t catch what changed her mind. Maybe she did it for her husband? Hopefully someone can add details. Anyway, this clearly affects Sheila.

At the dinner table, the man at the hostel (I think he’s Rafa?) explains that most of the guests there are street performers like they are. They live from one day to the next. Fedor thought they only managed the hostel. Viviana says, I wish. The owner lets them live there in exchange for running the place. The rest of their expenses are covered by what they make on their shows… street juggling. It was both of them until Viv became too big. Viv apologizes for the meager meal but adds it was made with lots of love.

Mateo thinks. He asks, do you need a magician? Someone who can make you money while Sofia recuperates for a few days. Rafa asks where will you find a magician? Mateo jumps up, announces, and gestures towards his fellow traveler— Fedor… straight from Russia! Fedor is stunned.

Faustino meets Batman outside, where he’s drinking beer. They admit their faults and make peace. Faustino thinks with all respect, that Batman should try to be more positive. It makes things easier. Batman regrets how he treated Sheila. He made her life impossible because of his obsession with having kids. He gets emotional and says, she’s the only thing I have in this life. Faustino is sure she knows that. Batman’s not sure, he never told her. He laments, how will we find her?

Faustino overhears a radio and asks a guy about it. He says it’s request hour. Call the station and they play what you want. This gives Faustino an idea. That’s how they will find the others.

Teresa listens to the message left by Faustino that includes, this is a new number. It’s a secure line, it’s fine. Call us. Uh oh… Epi has that phone.

Charlie asks Epi if he’s heard from Garcia. Nope, not for a while. Epi is curious how Garcia got away from Charlie and he hopes they can figure it out quickly. Charlie assures Epi that Garcia has no evidence against Kozar and he’s certain he has nothing on Epi.

Epi says even if Garcia doesn’t have evidence, he knows what’s going on. He could make a lot of noise and get us in trouble. They bleep the words, but the captions say, “you ---- the bed” to blame Charlie for letting Garcia get away. Charlie forgets who he’s talking to and answers, maybe it was you when the meeting was brought up. Epi cuts Charlie off and shuts him down. You’re talking to the president of Mexico! Charlie apologizes.

Epi asks Andres to show some respect and get off his phone. Except that’s not Andres’ phone. It’s Faustino’s. And what do you know? Teresa calls the phone! She leaves the message: We were attacked. We know you were attacked, too. Call us as soon as you can. We need to find out what everyone is doing. I’m guessing you know that Epifanio betrayed us. It’s a miracle we are alive. We’ll talk in person. Call as soon as you can. End message. Pablo thinks positive. I’m sure your children and everyone else are safe, he says.

reina3 #54 part 4

Epi listens to Teresa’s message and the expletives explode. He can’t believe that Teresa survived. Charlie looks sick. Panic sets in. Can the call be traced? Andres says she would have to call back and talk to someone. Epi says Teresa will realize something is up if no one returns the call. Charlie replies, what if someone does return the call, Mr. President? He has some special equipment and wants to try something.

Meanwhile back in Colombia, Faustino and co try to come up with a way of sending a message out to find the others. They talk about the radio and Paloma has the idea to post flyers. Now to come up with something that only the others will understand. Batman says he and Sheila have special words, but they are dirty. Faustino remembers “la hora gris”.

Rafa is performing. He’s juggling while riding a unicycle. As he finishes his act, Mateo ducks into a van and asks Fedor if he’s ready to perform. Fedor memorizes a deck of cards. Rafa announces an act straight from the frozen steppes of Russia… the magician Fedoroski. Fedor-what? Fedor shakes his head.

Fedor steps out to applause as Mateo takes over the MC’ing. He explains what the Great Fedoroski will attempt. He unwraps a brand new deck of cards and asks someone to shuffle them. Then he asks for a volunteer. A man steps forward. Mateo tells him to place a bet and pick a card. If Fedoroski guesses correctly, you lose. But if he doesn’t, Mateo guarantees, I will double what you bet. The crowd applauds. Calls for Tripling the bet… quadrupling it. The man bets 5,000.

Mateo places the deck before Fedor and with some slight of hand, Fedor exchanges the deck for the one he’s memorized. The man picks his card. Fedor concentrates. He lifts the card for all to see and proclaims, ten of spades. But it’s not correct. It’s the five of diamonds. No, wait…. with a flick, the card changes to the ten of spades. Amazing!

Charlie explains that they have Faustino’s voice recorded on a computer. They got that recording from the phone Teresa lost at Teatro Colon. The plan is to clone it and somehow use it to have a brief conversation with Teresa. At first it sounds robotic, but Andres explains that the program will continue to analyze the recording and it will improve. Now to figure out the questions, answers and phrases that will come up in the convo.

Teresa, Oleg and Pablo discuss teaming up with Garcia. Pablo thinks they don’t need him. They’ve got Epi’s money and can do what they want. Teresa says it’s not that easy. It’s an opportunity to emerge clean, which is what I wanted. Not only for that, someone like Kozar can’t go unpunished.

Pablo continues, we have enough work with trying to save ourselves. You can’t save the whole world, too. It's not about saving the world, she replies, it’s getting rid of those two, Kozar and Vargas. Pablo asks, you got into this for you and your daughter, didn’t you? Yes, Teresa says, but I’m sorry. After everything we’ve seen, I can’t sit and do nothing. The only thing I can’t figure out is that bastard Palermo. Oleg agrees with that but he notes that Garcia was clear to make Ernie a part of this. Alright, Pablo says, let’s say we play superheroes. My father comes first. Both Teresa and Oleg agree. Oleg adds, but in this instance, it suits us to be on Garcia’s side.

reina3 #54 part 5

Teresa gets a call from Faustino’s phone. It sounds good. Teresa says that Epi attacked them but unfortunately, Anton died. I think Charlie does something to interfere with the call so he doesn’t have to respond to that unexpected news. “Faustino” apologizes for not hearing everything she said. He asks, where are you now? In Ecuador, Teresa replies and asks for Sofia. Charlie is prepared for that—“She’s not around at the moment, but she’s fine and sends you a kiss”. Faustino tells her they are in Bogota and to come if she wants. Teresa says that won’t happen for a few more days. They have unfinished business in Nicaragua. They are going to get Pablo’s father. Epi signals for Charlie to end the call. They have what they need.

Charlie calls Kozar. We don’t hear the call but Charlie informs Epi that the ambassador in Managua isn’t one of her people and the DEA in Nicaragua is under his jurisdiction. If they do anything it’s not legally authorized. Epi wants to send Romo and his group to Nicaragua. Delio worries that the Nicaraguan army will get upset.

Epi says they will get over it now that Mexico and our sister republic, Nicaragua, have an unbreakable treaty. He hands papers to Delio who asks, what’s this? Something that Managua sent a few months ago, Epi replies. Take it to the ambassador and give him the good news. Our Latin American brotherhood is still in effect.

Teresa presents their only condition to Garcia and Ernie. They want to go to Nicaragua asap to rescue Pablo’s father. Then they will join up in Bogota. Ernie says entering Nicaragua is certain death. What the f do you care, Teresa shoots back. He looks at Garcia and says, first we should concentrate on Kozar and Vargas. Then they can do what they want. Oleg interjects and Ernie shouts back. Garcia stops it right there.

Teresa says they will need transportation, some men (?), and they will handle other expenses. Pablo says they are going to Indio Maiz Reserve, in a small town near the border. Garcia thinks that will make things easier, he’s got good relationships with officials in Costa Rica. Does that mean you agree, Teresa asks. Ernie says nothing. Garcia says he has no choice. He wants everything done as fast as they do.

We see flyers posted and handed out all around town.

Pablo explains the plan. They will land in an airfield that hasn’t been used since 1982.

Epi and the ambassador sign the agreement.

Sofia is up and walking around.

Fedor is bringing in the bucks with his card trick.

Batman brings the flyer to a radio station. He says, I’m here to promote an event we’re having. I’m not clear on this. The flyer has a drawing of a cat. “Totsy, El Gato” will be at the event. [“Tozzi” was Sofia’s cat in season two. Hopefully he’s still living a good life in Australia.]

Next we see Pablo drive up to building. Must be the prison. He takes out binoculars and spots armed guards. He says, I’m going to get you out, dad.

And with that, Pablo takes us out of the episode. We’re heading into la última semana!

I'm so very very glad, dondi356, that you're the one writing Friday's recap! You always do an amazing job of getting all the details and making sense of them, often with a touch of snark, and all that is true once again this time. I found last night's episode quite confusing in parts, and I had a hard time putting it all together. I found your recap invaluable! ¡Muchísimas gracias!

I very much enjoyed your snarky response to Teresa's remark about Epifanio, "that SOB knows no limits!" You noted:" [this should not be a surprise to anyone after 3 seasons]"

I was surprised when Teresa was told there was nothing on the disk she had saved. Really?? Do I believe this?

I was also amused by Ernie's response when Oleg says "Nobody changes sides just like that." Ernie retorts: "a certain Russian did."

Mateo's offering Fedor's services as a "magician" without consulting him first seemed a bit annoying. My guess is that Fedor agreed primarily because Mateo presented this as "making money while Sofia recuperates for a few days."

I was very nervous when Fedor started doing his card "magic," especially when he seemed at first to get it wrong. I still don't understand how the card suddenly turned into the right one.

Thanks very much for making the significance of "Totsy" clear. I hadn't remembered that "Tozzi" was the name of Sofia's cat in Season 2.

Yes, we're entering the last week. I suspect things will get worse before they get better. At least, I HOPE they get better!

Again, MANY MANY THANKS!!

reina3

extra special thanks on this one Dondi, opening scene was a, whaaaat???? and the following ones flew by while I was getting orientated. You sure tell a nice story, not only with the details, but with lots of color.

Montaño had killer mercenaries hunting Sofia's crew, Faustino hired some to search for them, and now Garcia has gun cleaning ones to pull Tesa and company out, is this like a regular service of the unemployment office in south america?

so Garcia got the disc Tesa held back and there was nothing of use on it, I totally missed this part, thanks.

that voice cloning was interesting, but I wish Tesa being alive hadn't been revealed so fast.

so will Charlie go to Nicaragua or Bogota?

reina3

Terrific recap, as always, dondi! Thanks so much for filling in the blanks as some of the happenings in this key episode raced by me. I also enjoyed your remark about Our Team not really surprised after 3 seasons of Epifanio Vargas.

I enjoyed Fedor's magic act. And the $ definitely made up for Rafa and Viviana's having put them up and having saved Sofia. I also appreciated the fact that Fedor changed the decks. I didn't realize they'd begun with a new deck he hadn't memorized.

I enjoyed the brief scene of Sofia testing her bad leg and smiling. And there was a big smile from the town medic as well.

I felt like screaming when Charlie's trick worked, i.e., letting the villains know that Teresa will be in Nicaragua.

I'm a bit baffled about how these flyers and "la hora gris" are going to connect Faustino with Sofia and the others.

I hope Charlie is taken out in Nicaragua. I am SO tired of seeing his face. Did they say that Ernie is going to Nicaragua also? I thought it was just Oleg, Pablo and Teresa. So Ernie and Charlie bumping each other off there might not happen.

reina3

Gracias, Dondi. Your detailed recap is a gem. Such a treat reading it this afternoon. "Telenovela transport magic" - lol. Loved all your commentary. Ah!, it would be great to see Tozzi again.

Any scene with Batman and Faustino together is fun.

Hiss! Boo! Hiss! I hate hate hate Our Team having to work with Ernie.

"Charlie looks sick. Panic sets in." -- Squee, loved it. But then they come up with cloning Teresa's voice. Yuck!

I just don't believe that disk is of no use.

reina3

and Bebita has a gun...
