Going through some stuff at work, so I wasn't really in the right state of mind for novela watching, but I did get the chance to watch today's episode and I will post something later (most likely you will get to read it by tomorrow morning.

Corazon Guerrero, Capitulo 57
Part 1 of 3

Carlota accuses Mari of having seduced Jesus, Mari says she needs to question him, not her. Carlota warns Mari that she will never get Jesus. Never!

Mica tells Lupe that Mari is back at work and she will come over as soon as she can. Then asks about her words from the other day: why did she say she should have taken Mari away from the patron? Is it what she suspects, is Augie Mari’s father? Lupe plays offended, Mica is hurt with the lack of trust from her unica amiga.

Augie wants to talk with Jesus about Carlota. Sure, he had asked him to stay away, but now he has decided to be supportive. Jesus would rather talk with Carlota about the whole thing, Augie likes this answer.

Domi daydreams about having a career… joking, it’s about Damian. Emma is checking some video online, it’s another influencer talking about makeovers and whatnot. And sure enough, she decides to do one of herself. Adrian is at school, apparently not doing great. He feels like he’s failing, his lady friends (name?) says it’s normal not to know, they are here to learn stuff. Even so, Adrian is bummed because he was the only one who didn’t have a clue. She suggest they start a study group (of two), he thinks it’s a great idea.
Enter Emma with her new “look” – a silly bun on top of her head, a suit jacket and some shirt. It’s like she didn’t even try.

Damian is checking Augie and Briana’s photos on his laptop when Domenica arrives. Oh, he’s just working on some invoices. She came to work, too, she even has the stylish overall to go with manual labor. She notices he is nervous, but she’s in no mood to chat, she just wants Sam to show up so they can leave.

Briana asks Valero and Sam to work on her car.

Augie can’t find some important files… when one of the bodyguards arrives to tell him he found a tracker on his car. Fede wants to throw it away, but Augie wants to keep it. Those malditos Sanchez! Let’s give them what they want.

Sam teaches the others to use tools, water hose hijinks ensue.

When Jesus tells his bros about his project to get married to Mari, Damian points out the obvious: what about their plaaaan? Jesus says he will keep his word to their father, Damian reminds him he couldn’t be with Domenica because of it, but oh, yes, he could, Jesus says…. Anyway, who’s keeping track anymore? Jesus is in love, he can’t let Mari go. Damian is pissed, Jesus says they have to change their plan, they need to go after Augie by exposing his many crimes. Seems like a good idea, maybe somebody should have thought of this on Capitulo 1.

Elisa proves that she’s one smart cookie when she starts thinking that maybe the Guerreros are his sons and they just changed their name to trick Augie. And that’s why they are working for him. Santi thinks the plan is too farfetched (you and me both, dude, but it is what it is). Elisa insists that there is something familiar about them, one of them has Octavio’s eyes, the same ages as his sons… she needs to be sure, her heart is telling her that the Guerreros could be her sons.

 

Corazon Guerrero, Capitulo 57
Part 2 of 3

Back home Domenica speaks to the rose, asking it if Damian is lying to her. Could it be another woman? The rose doesn’t answer back.
Briana comes to see Damian, they talk about Augie. Her relationship with him doesn’t have anything to do with Domenica, they just have fun when they see one another, she likes all handsome men. Damian assures her he won’t say a word, she offers to give him something in exchange for his silence. He says thanks, but no thanks! She gets the message (or does she?), is sure the car turned up OK.
When Briana leaves Sam arrives to ask what us going on, he realizes that Briana wants something with his bro. Damian says no way, trust him, get back to work.

Valero gives Briana the documents of her car repair, she’d like a private number of the work shop in case of emergency. When Valero is not looking she hides some black package behind a box on a shelf. What was it?

Mari tells mom and Abuela she is getting married. Yeeeey! No, wait, Lupe is not happy. Conchita is already in wedding planning mode, but Lupe wants to know what they plan to do about Carlota. Mari asks her not to doubt Jesus, he will fix everything. And he will even tell her his secrets after. Oh boy! Lupe goes into mama bear mode, she is afraid her daughter will get hurt. But Mari is certain Jesus is the best guy in the world and they will be so happy together. Before all this pleading Lupe can only say yes and give her blessing. Back to wedding planning!

Emma gets back home, feeling all sad and … well, Emma. Adrian keeps trying to call her, leaves a voice message to apologize.

Mari made a reservation for tonight, Jesus plans to propose and asked her to get them a table (how modern of them, maybe Mari should be the one buying a ring, too). Lupe still has doubts, maybe they should wait for Jesus to talk to Carlota first. But nope, Mari says they are IN LOOOVE.

Jesus is with Carlota, who is all lovey dovey with him. He tries to get serious, needs to tell her something, but no, she wants to go first! She needs to show him something – a pregnancy test – a positive pregnancy test. They are going to have a baby!
Jesus can’t believe this is happening, asks to go see a doctor. Carlota talks about her morning sickness and the night it all happened – in the bungalow. Jesus kind of remembers some of that night… but he’s mostly lost for words. Carlota understands his shock, she felt the same way, but she’s had some time to get used to the idea of having a baby together. Now they have to make plans.
Jesus wants a serious confirmation of the pregnancy, there is a lab not far away, they need to know for sure.

Mari is at home, searching for a dress to wear tonight, remembering her moments with Jesus in bed.

Elisa in disguise (I mean, wearing a headscarf) is getting some last minute advice from Santi. She promises to be careful, if these men are her sons her nightmare is over. She thanks him for all the help he’s given her all these many years. And off she goes…

Adrian is sending yet another message to Emma and runs into Elisa. He introduces himself as Adrian Guerrero, pointing out they are four.
Elisa is very disappointed, she gets back to the car, thinking she was all wrong. Her desire to find her sons is so big, she fooled herself.

 

Corazon Guerrero, Capitulo 57
Part 3 of 3

Jesus is waiting for Carlota to come downstairs, when Augie and Fede walk in, talking about a very important investigation. Jesus doesn’t hear much more, Carlota arrives and together they leave the house.

In the office Fede and Augie talk about his political career. I care so little about this side story, but Augie cares a lot, because he’s afraid the Sanchez brothers could ruin everything. He plans to use their tracker to get them to the warehouse and set a trap for them

Briana and Domenica talk about the mechanics next door. They all look so fiiiine, even if they are so rustic. Domenica agrees, she is head over heels in love with one of them. It’s Damian, but now they are on a break.

Sam is still questioning Damian about Briana, so he is now showing him the photos. They both know Domenica will suffer when she realizes the truth about her father. Damian is happy that Jesus is breaking up with Carlota, the woman gives him the creeps.

For whatever reason, Mari is telling Conchita how she plans to declare her love for Jesus in English. When there is a knock at the door, it’s not Jesus, it’s Bertie. He comes with flowers, waiting for Lupe.
Mari goes to the room to fetch her mother, who is still worried about Jesus. But nope, Mari is all about rainbows and roses now, the man at the door is Bertie. Surely, he came for his answer. Mari and Conchita even imagine a double wedding.

At the lab, apparently the test has already been done and they are now getting the results. How efficient! Jesus can’t bring himself to read them, Carlota does. And the test is positive! Jesus looks like he’s the one having morning sickness now, says that this was not part of his plans, doesn’t know how to go about it. Carlota only wants to know if he will stand by his child. Jesus says that he will most definitely do that, but he needs some time to get used to the idea. Carlota is happy to hear this, she hugs Jesus, he is definitely about to throw up.

Thank you Adriana for this wonderful witty recap despite your challenges at work! I think I comment the same thing on all your recaps but I just love your wry humor and wit! I was multi-tasking (or trying) when I watched yesterday and your recap confirms to me that I wasn't doing as good a job as I thought! LOL I hope your work situation gets better quickly!

I was thinking about Elisa's plight with the four sons instead of three - and although we know Adrian is a cousin, it seems pretty premature of the Elisa who had already guessed that her son's could be lying about their last name to hide from Augi, to just assume it couldn't be them because there is a Guerrero #4. I guess we'll have to continue to wait and see how this shakes out, SpanProf is right, it's too soon for the reconciliation.

Jesus is definitely in a pickle now! I'm still not interested but I might be in Mari started to feel morning sickness in the next couple of days and Jesus ended up finding himself trapped between two pregnant women and a hard place...I doubt they'd go that way, but it would certainly dial up the drama.

I still find it all kinds of distracting that Domenica looks like she's early twenties and her BFF Briana appears to be at least 38!! I did have a very close friend when I was in my early twenties who was much older than me, so I guess it's not that strange really it just looks off. I looked it up out of curiosity and Oka Ginger (Domi) is 30 and Tania Vazquez (Briana) is 45! It feels like an odd casting choice.

I thought they scrapped the whole revenge plan and decided to make it simply about going after Augi like 20 episodes ago but it's a novela so they probably did, and now they are doing it again!

This cracked me up: 'Elisa in disguise (I mean, wearing a headscarf)' This is a true Comedy-drama and I love that they throw in odd non-disguises like Fede and his if I wear all black they won't see me, and when they hid I forget who behind a tour of tires and walked him out to the street as if that isn't conspicuous.

Why oh why couldn't they have thought of something more original? I know it's a telenovela, but still.All those scenes with Mari Luz were such a struggle because of how stupid she seems. Blind faith is annoying to watch. And now we'll have how many episodes of her bemoaning her fate and declaring she'll never fall in love again? Will there be another guy who is all nice and not chained to a crazy lady as well?
The best part was Valero saying to Briana he'll send her memes, and spicy ones if I understood it correctly.
Why is Domenica friends with Briana? Briana said something about a man's financial position being the most important thing to her, didn't she? Can't Domenica find someone better? Is Briana a nymphomaniac or does she just hate her 'friend'? What did she think was going to happen when she came to see Damian? 'that I'm her father'smistress has nothing to do with us being friends'. What an argument.
 

Guerrero. Excellent recap, Adriana! I hope everything goes well at work. Now is Carlota pregnant or isn't she? Shouldn't that visit to the lab settle things or is it important that Jesus didn't look at the results? Will Carlota miscarry, given all the medications she takes? And too bad they can't do a (safe) DNA test until the baby is born (and poor thing, to have Carlota as a mother). Briana is so annoying! Oh oh! Will the tracker really help Augi catch "los Sanchez"? Very funny, Adriana--yep, the boys should have thought of just exposing Augi's crimes in Capitulo 1--But then this would either be a very short or a very different novela. Indeed, we aren't even halfway through the novela and it is too early for Elisa to find out for sure that the Guerreros are her sons, as her encounter with Adrian shows us. Of course, both Jesus and Damian now know. Jesus with morning sickness. Hilarious!

Guerrero - Capítulo 58 Part 1 of 3

We start with Carloca reassuring Jesús that everything will be fine.

Bri calls the garage. Sam answers. She wants to speak with Damián. She’s left her sunglasses case behind. Damián locates the frames (far from casually left behind). She asks that he return them to her hotel.

Sir Talks-A-Lot talks a lot. Scene goes nowhere.

Damián agrees to return the sunglasses case to Bri’s hotel. Sam’s not buying it (he sees through the BS of this set up).

Emma Emmas on - admitting to Mica that she did her own makeover out of jealousy. Meanwhile Adrián and Laura are attempting to study. Adrián admits he can’t focus. Laura, voice of reason, thinks they should STIUDY. He outright declares his love for Emma.

Sir Talks-A-Lot talks more. Lupe barely gets a word in edgewise.

Doménica shows up at the garage ready for work and expecting Damián. Sam says Damián is not there, and it’s best if he not say anything. Pressed for more details he says he doesn’t know, doesn’t know, doesn’t know anything. She calls him a bad liar and says she’s not moving until he tells her the truth.

Damián shows up at Motel 6 with Bri’s sunglasses only to find her all hugged up with Patricio.

Laura and Adrian are in the throes of legalese and. Emma slinks in. Laura sees her and grabs Adrian for a smooch. Emma runs off. Their little theme song plays. Adrián cannot catch her. Perhaps she should switch her focus to track and field.

Mommy Dearest is pouring herself a drink when Emma comes in and throws herself on the floor. Ever sympathetic , MD is repulsed that Emma looks like a beggar. Emma spouts a load of self pity. “Have you ever been dumped?” MD immediately asks if Augi is with someone else. LOL. When MD learns it’s about Emma herself, she orders her to stop whining and mocks her weakness. Emma continues her pity party and MD says don’t ever change for anyone except for MD (LOL). When MD finds out this hissy fit is for the mechanic, she slaps her.

Adrian demands to know why Laura can’t keep her lips to herself. She thought they had something between them. He thinks it best that she leave. Cue dramatic power chord.

MD continues her gold medal parenting by telling Emma she’s very glad she got dumped and that it’s best another brat took her man. Now maybe she’ll get over this whim. You know what MD would like? She’d like it if Adrián’s new squeeze got pregnant. Then maybe she’d finally get over herself. MD exits stage left. Emma sobs and then grabs the aforementioned drink.
 

Guerrero - Capítulo 58 Part 2 of 3

Carloca announces to Augi & MD that Augi will be a grandpa. He is gobsmacked; Jesús is nowhere to be found. MD is ecstatic and hugs her. Augi calls it hasty and wants to know where Jesús is.

Jesús is by himself asking himself what has he done. Flashback to Carloca’s revelation. Flashback to the hotel tryst with Mari. How’s he going to break the news to Mari without breaking her heart? Why is this happening? All of a sudden he kicks a defenseless tree. It’s not fair (says the tree)!!!

Carloca says they just found out and Jesús will be by soon. She doesn’t want to hear any complaints just well-wishes for their happiness. Augi says no (LOL). MD says what’s done is done and Carloca needs support. She can count on MD to plan her wedding to Jesús. Carloca says she thinks she’ll be having the son Augi’s always wanted. His first grandchild!!! They hug.

Sir Talks-A-Lot is still talking! Lupe thinks it best if they keep things the same, i.e., Friend Zone. He is a gentleman, the best man she knows, and she is not ready to ramp up their relationship. She returns the ring. It takes over 17 sentences for him to indicate he will maintain hope and always be there for her family.

Damián enters the hotel lobby and returns the glasses. Patricio is gone and Bri compliments his speed, touches his chest, and invites him to a thank-you drink. He tells her Doménica loves her a lot. She says she knows there was something between them. He says there IS (something between them) and it’s real important. BYE! He leaves the Motel 6.

Cuteness overload: Sam is teaching a little boy how to garden. Doménica brings them water. He tells her how quickly the kids learn. She still wants to talk about Damián. He tells her Damián loves her a lot and nothing more. He leaves her and starts working with Gus.

The scene switches to her bedroom. She emerges from the shower. Damián and a rose are waiting. She wants to know where he’s been. He wants her to trust him. She’s trying, but with so many secrets it’s getting harder and harder. She asks him to leave and shows him out (the window!). He takes his sweet time leaving and says he loves her. Don’t forget it.

Elisa and Opera Man are in some undisclosed room. She’s going through the same I Miss My Three Sons song and dance. They get a message on the cellphone. A male voice (Augi?) says the truce has ended. Elisa and the patio ask, “What does this mean?”

Jesús is approaching the door of Las García. Conchita just knows Carlota is behind his tardiness. Lupe frets about losing their reservation. Mari is so nervous; she hugs them both. Jesús finally rings the doorbell. She opens the door and kisses him passionately.

Carloca is cooking again! Adrián sneaks by the kitchen unnoticed. Emma is upstairs having a stare contest with an empty wine glass. She bolts downstairs to the liquor cabinet. MD catches her (with bottle in hand, mind you) and asks what she is doing. Is she still whining about that orphan?!! This is MD’s breaking point. She basically disowns her and asks God what she’s done to deserve this. Is it a punishment? She can’t. She leaves. Emma snags the bottle and an empty glass and bolts back upstairs. I’m telling you, Track & Field, Sister!!!

Carloca beckons Mica to finish her baking and let her know when it’s ready. She leaves and Mica sulks. Adrian runs by and Mica stops him in his tracks (right in front of Carloca’s giant mess). She helps him sneak upstairs to Emma’s.

Las García are all dressed up and ready to go. Conchita hugs Jesús and tells her how happy they all are. Ugh. This is hard to watch. This is the first time anyone has properly asked for a García’s hand in marriage. What’s beautiful couple. Jesús is crying. Lupe apologizes to Jesús for being so overprotective. Mari just wants to make it to their reservation. Jesús has cancelled the reservation. What is up, Mari asks. He apologizes to all three and asks to speak to Mari alone.
 

Guerrero - Capítulo 58 Part 3 of 3

Adrián is now in Emma’s bedroom. She and her bottle want him out of there. He begs her to listen. She accuses him of lies and kisses and goes to chug-a-lug. He grabs the bottle away from her. She overpowers him and pushes him out of her bedroom. For a minute I thought she might throw him down the stairs (a move made famous by Carloca). Instead she collapses which is becoming a pattern. Doménica and Mica appear and ask him to leave.

Away from all this, MD is enjoying a glass of wine. Carloca has been summoned. MD wants to know all about her fake pregnancy. She knows she’s never had relations with the mechanic. She remembers her desperation and failed Love Potion #9. She knows nothing happened at the farm. So what chapter is she missing? Carloca tells her their first time was magic and that’s all it took. MD knows she’s lying. She knows her too well. Carloca whips out proof (the lab results). MD’s eyes widen and she’s full of joy. They have to speed up the wedding. Now Carloca must take care of her baby because we all know how hard they are to come by.

Jesús continues his Walk of Shame. The wedding is off. He’s failed and hurt her. She begs for answers. Carloca is having his baby.

Carloca (alone) is patting herself on the back, talking to her baby, and promising to keep Iker out of the picture. She’s so lucky he’s dead. Now he can’t say anything, or send messages, or bother her, or anything. Her baby’s daddy is Jesús Guerrero.

Jesús tells Mari he didn’t know. He thought Carloca was lying, but she has proof. Mari remembers her symptoms at the farm. He begs for forgiveness? Why? For choosing his daughter (how does Mari already know the sex of Iker’s baby)? He knows what it’s like to grow up without family blah blah blah. She too grew up without a daddy so she wishes him well and says goodbye. He says bye; sorry.

PSA: Drinking is not a solution. Thanks, Doménica…but it’s the only thing to help Emma forget what Adrián has done. [For the record Adrián’s smooch drove her to drink. All MD’s verbal abuse be damned.]. Why can’t anybody be honest with Honest Emma? Doménica exits stage left with the bottle. Emma cries.

Augi tells Fede it’s time to meet up with Elisa and Sons! Adrián is somehow still on the premises and overhears this blustering. Elisa & Opera Man watch Augi’s movements (via tracker) and spring into action.

Now dressed in black, Augi, Fede, Saul, and henchmen are setting a trap. Guns are cocked. The three brothers are perched and magically just a few feet from all the action. Elisa drives up. Things get real Mission Impossible here.

Fede approaches Elisa and demands they get out of the car. Elsewhere, Jesús drops in on Augi and puts on a Zorro(!) mask. If I’m not mistaken Jesús throws the kitchen sink at Augi and disarms him. Back at Elisa’s car all guns are drawn. With hands up, our dynamic duo are waiting for the sons to appear. Damián recognizes his mamá from afar. He fires a shot in the air bewildering Fede’s crew. Elisa yells, “My sons!” and Opera Man zooms past the mob. Elisa throws Augi’s burner phone at him. Fede’s inept crew fire many shots. Nothing lands. Augi commands them to go after Los Sánchez. Zorro/Chucho starts a fire underground and escapes via rope. Augi reads a note from Elisa on the phone: You will not win this war. You will never beat a Guerrero Heart.

Thank you O.S. for this hilariously witty recap! You had me giggling throughout!

I did a much better job paying attention while multitasking but I didn't realize it was Patricio at the hotel!!! I must have just assumed it was Augi and not looked closely. Briana is certainly busy and the fact that she's determined to flirt with Damian must mean she's jealous of Domi for some reason.

It's so hard to watch MD be so hateful and awful to Emma. Someone should throw some water on her so she can melt and go away! That said, that kiss between Laura and Adrian was the most obviously staged kiss I'm seen in a long time!! I would have laughed at Laura's lame attempt at being shady the same way Laura laughed at Emma's lame makeover if I was Em. She is definitely overreacting by like 5000%. But then MD is a drama queen and a half, she can only do what she knows I suppose.

Then you have Jesus doing the 'noble' thing and choosing to be miserable for the sake of his daughter (according to Mariluz), this is the stupidest thing! I grew up with divorced parents and I didn't grow up without my dad, I saw him all the time! Jesus isn't the dad, but even if he was, he lives across the street!!!! Give me a break, he can easily see the child all the time without being married to Carloca who he doesn't love and modeling for his child that it's necessary to be miserable in order to do the 'responsible' thing.

 

Guerrero. Excellent recap, O.S. Oh dear! Emma is so insecure about Adrian, but as observed by both O.S. and Darcy, I believe, with a mother like Vicki, we can understand why. Mariluz is incredibly understanding about Jesus's apparent obligation to the pregnant Carlota. Btw, good observation on that front, Darcy. And Carlota thinks it's good that Iker was killed. Yuck!
