Memo thanks God for saving Martin as he hugs Dani. He tells Martin that he loves him .Dani whispers to Memo that she is sure that strength of love will save Martin. Memo tells Martin that they will fill his path with love and happiness.
Ursula is still in bed covered by a pure white (totally unlike her) sheet as she complains that she has to go back to the hospital and pretend that she cares about Martín. Fausto would really enjoy the kid’s death and have Memo suffer for losing his son, and that would only be the beginning. When Ursula asks what else he has planned for Memo, Fausto replies that he plans to keep Isabela away from Memo forever and that way, neither he or Dani will be happy. Ursula agrees that the worst blow would be that Memo and Dani don’t have their children with them.
Meanwhile, the snake of a wife is home calling Satan and wondering where the hell he is!! (Should be in hell, but not…)
Amparo is beyond belief that Eugenio gave up his company to save the truck stop. Eugenio shares that his fortune has no value when his son is fighting for his life. When Amparo expresses her hope that Sebas will one day wake up, Eugenio knows very well that he can’t buy good health, but he is doing everything he possibly can so that his son can overcome; and he appreciates having someone so special by his side…because she understood his pain and was very patient with him; that helps him renew his hope a little. Amparo thinks that love should bring peace, security and tranquility; and by his side, she feels all of that. Eugenio would like to live the rest of his life with her…he loves her so much! Kiss!!
Dani calls Isa to let her know her little brother is getting better and to ask how she is. After Isa tells her she convinced her uncle JP to do a puzzle with her, Ursula sneaks in behind Dani and eavesdrops as Dani tells Isa that she will stay at the hospital a while longer. Dani then asks to talk to JP and tells him things with Martín have gotten complicated…Ursula has been poisoning her baby! As Ursula holds up her jaw, Dani continues that hey know nothing of her but the police are already looking for her for attempted murder! Ursula runs out without being seen.
Karen questions Fausto—why did he arrive so late? Fausto lies telling her that he had a something important to do…with Toni. Karen reminds him of all the evidence she has against him. He replies with “Mi amor, you wouldn’t send the father of the baby you’re expecting to prison, would you?” Karen wicked smiles and advises that he not test her…and he’d better not think of betraying her.
Amparo and Eugenio are cooking together (looking cute with their cooking scarves). Amparo had never thought of putting garnishes on plates and wonders if her customers will notice. Eugenio explains that customers must fall in love with their dishes just as he has fallen in love with her (que sweet!)
(Skipped scene #1) Humberto is glad to have his grandson back home. Lola hopes that they can soon realize their dream of taking all his grandchildren on a road trip with them. Chema is more than ready! Memo tells the family that the doctor’s are surprised with Martín's improvement; they assured there would be no long term effects. Lola asks if Ursula has been found. “She’s still a fugitive,” replies Memo. Lola thinks that Ursula may escape man’s justice but she won’t escape God’s justice. Humberto thinks someone is helping Ursula hide…and he thinks it must be Mac! Just then Amparo brings out breakfast. Memo then hands her a letter that arrived for Lupita.
Ursula is laying in bed in one of Yolanda’s bedrooms when Mac enters and suggests that she get as much money out of Fausto as she can so she can go across the border, but Ursula thinks that he just doesn’t want the responsibility of looking after her. Ursula isn’t going anywhere until she has Memo back in her arms and seeing that woman completely miserable…and today, that maldita mujer’s calvary begins!
Amparo goes to see Sebas and to give Lupita the letter she received. Lupita excitedly tells her that she got the scholarship to go study in the States. Lupita’s smile fades since she will be having to leave too soon. When Lupita goes to Sebas, Amparo understands that she doesn’t want to leave Sebas, but this is something she has always wanted, her dreams! Lupita crumples the letter and throws bit in the bed, but while she hugs Sebas, Amparo discreetly gets the letter and puts it in her purse.
The lawyer?? (Finally shows his face!) enters Eugenio’s study and tells Eugenio, JP, Lupita and Amparo that the brake lines of the van were deliberately cut soon before the accident (hallelujah!!! Oh but wait, it’s been so long…how would they know they were cut “soon before”…oh well, on with the good news…). JP’s demeanor plummets as the lawyer continues that there is no doubt that someone messed with the van and that is what prevented Gaby from being able to brake. Amparo knew it!! And she adds that it was Ursula who severed the brakes, her daughter is innocent!!
Yo wants mo’ money since she now has to put up with Mac’s good for nothing niece. As Mac responds that he brought her some money and some other toys, there is a knock, almost banging, on the door. When Yo opens the door, Memo storms in grabbing Mac and demanding that he tell him where that disgraceful Ursula is!! And Ursula watches from the bedroom door…
Dani and Isa are home. Dani tells Isa to go change because they are going spend the afternoon with Martín and her dad. As Isa goes up the stairs, Satan and his goonies walk right in. Satan tells Isa to go get her things…he won custody of Isabela, HIS daughter stays with him! Isa cries that she doesn’t want to go with him…but Fausto could care less…it’s not a question of what she wants, it’s what the judge ordered! Dani doesn’t want to let her go…and cries as she asks Isa to forgive her for not being able to keep her from going with Fausto (did she even try? Another writer’s blunder?) Dani promises that she will soon be back with her; she won’t stop fighting until they are together again. Fausto pulls Isa out as Isa cries and reaches out for her mommy asking her not to let him take her (heart wrenching!)…and Dani’s cries for Isabela resonate.
At Yo’s refuge, Memo is still yelling at Mac asking where Ursula is until Yo manages to separate them. Memo asks how Mac can help his niece when she practically killed his son! Mac retorts that Memo knew how crazy Ursula is; he should have known better than to trust her with Martín! As Memo shouts that Ursula doesn’t know what’s coming to her, Ursula slowly closes the door and whispers “No, you’re not going to abandon me. You don’t know what awaits you and that maldita lizard. She will be dragging in pain; and you will be mine forever…mine or nobody’s!” Boom!
Amparo explains to the others how Ursula was able to sabotage the van; she is capable of anything, she even tried to kill her own child, she should be the one in prison! JP is visibly feeling guilty as Eugenio tells the lawyer to initiate the the request for Gaby’s release. After Eugenio walks the lawyer out, Lupita notices JP’s somber look. He sputters that what Gaby always said was true; she is not to blame for what happened...he was blind and he is very sorry. Lupita encourages JP--there will be plenty of time for him to talk to Gaby later; for now they need to help her.
Dani sobs as she tells Chuchita about Fausto taking Isabela…she can’t do anything because she has to respect the judge’s orders, but she will find a way to get Isabela back.
Memo is still trying to get Mac to tell him where Ursula is. He tells Mac that he should be on his side because he is sure that Ursula cut the brake lines on Dani’s van; she is responsible for the tragedies of the young men and for Gaby being in prison. Yo butts in and tells Memo that Mac already told him he didn’t know where Ursula is so he needs to get out, but Memo won’t leave until he ensures Ursula is not there! He is about to open the door where Ursula is hiding , but Dani calls to tell him about Isa, so he rushes out.
Fausto pushes Isa in to the apartment demanding that she stop crying. After Karen smiles wide as she sarcastically welcomes Isa to her new family, Isa cries that they are liars and she doesn’t want to be with them; she wants to go with her mama and daddy Memo! Fausto coldly and harshest snarls that she should stop her childishness; she will never see them again! When Isa yells that Fausto doesn’t love her and he is mean, Fausto sneers that he has never loved her; she’s a snotty little kid who had the luck to be adopted by him, it would have been better to throw her in the trash! (This is too hard to listen to much less write, so I’m going to FFW…) let me just say that Karen throws her own hurtful daggers...and Fausto tells Isa that he is gong to send her off to a boarding school.
Mac reproaches Ursula for cutting the brake lines. After Ursula coldly admits to it…and adds that it was worth it. Mac tells her she’d better get out of there. Ursula is willing, but they need to wait for the boss’s orders.
Memo arrives at Dani’s house. Memo wants to go after Isa, but Dani cries that Fausto had a judge’s order…and she couldn’t do anything!
Amparo shows Eugenio Lupita’s letter and tells him that it’s crumpled because Lupita threw it away; she is not going to accept it…she wants to stay by Sebas’s side. Eugenio appreciates Lupita’s love for Sebas…but she can’t give up on her dreams. Eugenio’s eyes get misty as he tells Amparo that though it hurts him terribly, he is considering disconnecting Sebas.
JP is visiting Sebas as Lupita sits by the bedside. He tells Lupita that he is very happy that she got the scholarship. When Lupita tells him that she won’t be accepting it because she will stay with Sebas until he awakens, JP points out that Sebas nay never wake up, but Lupita won’t lose hope. When one loves with all your heart, you don’t abandon the one you love (how hard did that rock hit you, JP?). She knows JP thinks differently that’s why he was so harsh with her sister. Lupita’s not holding back and reproaches that he was very cruel with Gaby and now that he knows that the brakes were altered, Gaby at least deserves an apology from him. JP agrees and feels badly about all the terrible things he said to Gaby; he thinks it maybe too late for Gaby to forgive him; and he doesn’t know if Gaby would love a mam like him…incomplete (but a complete jacka$$!). Lupita tells him that Gaby loves him and she will forgive him wholeheartedly.
(Skipped scene #2) Downstairs, Eugenio cries as he tells Amparo that thinking of disconnecting his son, breaks his heart, but every day that passes, he feels torn just seeing Sebas lay there. More than enough time has passed…and there has been no change. He remembers the doctor saying that Sebas could be like that for years…and it’s not fair to Lupita; it’s as if both of them are in a coma. Amparo cries that whatever decision he makes, she will be with him, supporting him. After Eugenio cries that he will need her more than ever, they hug consoling each other.
Dani’s lawyer meets with her and Memo. He tells them that Memo has very little chance of getting custody of Isabela because of his previous acts of violence which the judge will take quite seriously. When Dani asks if there is something she can do as Isa’s mother, the lawyer explains that it could help but it will take time…time that Isa will have to spend with Fausto until a decision is made. After Dani cries that she will die if she doesn’t have her daughter, Memo bolts up in a huff ready to go beat some sense into Fausto. Dani and the lawyer try to stop him…futilely.
At the prison, JP goes to see Gaby. He is there because he (has his tail between his legs) is very sorry and wants to offer his apology. Generous Gaby has nothing to forgive him, but JP knows otherwise—his resentment, the horrible things he said to her, how he treated her. He then tells her she was at fault for the accident; the brakes were sabotaged…and Ursula is the main suspect. Gaby’s eyes fill with hope…she’ll be getting out of there! JP maneuvers his wheelchair away from the table and toward Gaby as Gaby stands in front of him hopeful that they can finally be together again. JP smiles a “yes” and they kisssss!!
Memo is in Fausto’s office reproaching him for taking Isa from Dani who is such a good mother. After Fausto immediately calls for security, Memo gets in his face sneering that Fausto has an enemy forever (yeah, look at Fausto shaking…NOT!); Memo vows that he and Dani will get Isa back! Fausto shoots back that he and Dani can forget about Isa because as long as he lives, they will never see Isa again!! After Memo is escorted out, Fausto calls Mac and gives him some orders.
JP tells Gaby that he loves her but that doesn't mean they will be together. When she gets out, she needs to forget him. He doesn't want to condemn her to living with an incomplete man. As Gaby cries, JP wheels himself out of the visitor’s room.
At night, Memo gets off his truck. Mac is waiting for him and tells Memo that he has a message from Ursula; he asks Memo to follow him to another trailer that is parked on the other side of the road. Memo keeps asking where Ursula is and as Mac distracts him, there hoods run from behind Memo and grab him. Mac orders them to hold him tight then gives Memo the first hard punch in the stomach telling Memo that he had them saved up for him, then gives him two more hard strikes. After Memo falls to his knees, Mac points a gun at him and circles around Memo spewing his hate for Memo and all his family. Mac then hits Memo on his head with the gun rendering Memo unconscious.
Memo opens his eyes and sees that he is tied to a bed. When Ursula hears him pulling in the ropes, she purrs that they are together forever! She then gets on top of him forcing kisses on him as he struggles to avoid her kisses and get lose. When he sneers that he hates her, Ursula slaps him and tells him to be careful what he says because she is plenty crazy! He orders he to untie him. She asks why? So that he can split and leave her alone again? She cackles and tells him he will stay there. Memo hisses that he wishes he could hate her for all she’s done, but all he feels is a profound pity! Ursula insists that she will change his mind because they will be together.
Amparo and Dani worry about Memo. Dani relates that Memo went to see Fausto and has been calling him all afternoon, but he doesn’t answer. She explains that Memo went to see Fausto because he got custody of Isa; he took her daughter.
Memo reproaches Ursula for trying to kill her own son. Ursula blames Memo. When Memo growls that she is crazy and heartless, Ursula laughs and justifies that he stopped loving her; she did it so he could stay with her. Memo then tells her that the police are looking for her and when he adds that she sabotaged Dani’s van, Ursula admits she did, she wanted to kill her…finish off that maldita lagartija once and for all!
Amparo worries about Memo since the last time he confronted Fausto, he ended up in jail. She wonders if Memo was able to see Isa, but Dani doubts that Fausto would allow it.
Memo is frantically trying to get loose as Ursula laughs and tells him that the day he found out that snotty Isa was his daughter was the day he stopped loving her; that kid became the most important thing for him. Memo retorts that it was her fault; if she hadn’t deceived him …if she hadn’t been married to Cesar, things would have been different! He wanted to form a family with her and Isa. Ursula grits her teeth in anger as she barks that she hates Isa!! She wishes she could run over her with her wrecker and kill her!! But it all depends on him…if he would give her just a bit of attention and affection, that would settle all her demons. She again forces kisses on him as Memo struggles and turns away. Ursula then gets a syringe…and tells Memo that now even death won’t be able to separate them! After she injects him, she tells him to rest…and once he passes out, she adds that he should never forget that she loves him.
Fausto drives up to his favorite hotel where he has his illicit rendezvous…as Karen watches him!
Now inside, Fausto and Ursula are going at it and laughing about how they will make Memo and Dani suffer. They’re too busy to hear Karen open the door and walk in…until she surprises Fausto with “you’re disgraceful!!”
Memo is semi-passed out and hallucinates that Isa is crying out distressed and asking where he is.
As Fausto And Ursula dress, Karen admonishes Fausto for being capable of dong this to her…and they just got married! Fausto snidely tells her to calm down; Ursula means nothing to him! When he adds that it’s just an unimportant adventure, Karen SLAPS him as ahe snarls that he is not going to make a fool of her; how low he went in getting involved with this trash! Ursula takes offense and after she slaps Karen for insulting her, Karen returns the slap sneering that Ursula is just a dirty rag that Memo left and Fausto picked up! Ursula slaps her again (this is getting kinda a funny LOL) asking if Karen thinks she’s better than she is. When Karen retorts that Ursula is going to regret this and calls Ursula a “naca”, Ursula pushes her hard sending her to the floor where Karen hits her head against the wall and passes out. Ursula smiles in satisfaction as Fausto tells her to her out!! Once Ursula leaves, Fausto actually looks concerned as he strokes Karen’s hair and tries to wake her up.
Isa is in her new bedroom praying to the Virgen and asking that She take care of her mommy; Isa wants to go back to her and her papa Memo. She also asks that they not send her to a boarding school.
Fausto has taken Karen to the hospital. He asks the doctor how his wife is…and how is the baby! The doctor reports that they did an ultrasound…and his wife is NOT pregnant! (SORPRESA!! Gotta love Fausto’a look!!)
At the cabin in the boonies, Memo is wide awake and fiercely rubbing the rope against a slit of the headboard when Ursula enters humming the wedding march tune; she’s wearing her wedding veil and holding her wedding dress against her body as she walks toward Memo. She says good morning to her king of the road who wonders what she is up to. As she puts the wedding dress on top of Memo, Ursula tells him this is the beginning of new stage in their lives; they’ll be in a world where no one will be able to separate them. She chose the dress because this is a very special day for her; they will be United forever. She sashays out of the room humming and swaying her veil. …and Memo continues trying to break the rope.
Dani, Amparo, Humberto and Eugenio worry because they can’t reach Memo or Karen.
Karen and Fausto are at their apartment. Karen, in a fiery red jumpsuit to match her lipstick, boldly reminds Fausto that she has all the evidence that can destroy him and he still dared to betray her!! Fausto counters with a question—did she think that by marrying him she would change him? That he would be her slave just to avoid going to prison? When he adds that she doesn’t know him very well, she retorts that it is he who doesn’t know her. As Isa sits on the stairs quietly listening, Fausto threatens that he will kill her before she does anything against him. After she taunts that he would not hurt her while she is expecting his child, Fausto turns on her and grabs her by the throat growling that she should stop lying! The doctor told him she wasn’t pregnant! Isa cries quietly as Fausto continues choking Karen and hissing that she is of no value to him! Karen gasps for air as Fausto scrunches his hate-filled face!!
At the cabin of doom, Ursula carries in jugs of gasoline. Memo asks what she’s doing. She replies that this is the only path he left her. Her mother burned her father when she found out he had another woman. When Memo frantically asks what she’s doing, Ursula tells him not to worry; she doesn’t want to punish him, but she’s not going to give him up. Memo continues to yell and pull on the ropes as Ursula tells him that fire cleanses everything. If they can’t be together in this world…then they will be together in death!
Fausto continues to choke Karen and pushes her down on the couch. As Karen gasps and tells him to let her go, Isa runs out and tells him to let her go! Fausto shouts at Isa to go to her room, but Isa runs to them and tries to pry Fausto off of Karen! While Fausto grabs Isa and when he turns to quickly plop her down on the opposite couch, Karen grabs his gun for his back pocket and points it at him…looking at him directly with a look of hate and spite!
At the cabin, Memo is still desperately pulling on the ropes trying to get lose as Ursula lays beside him telling him to calm down…and gives a kiss of death! She then gets up and as Memo pleads that she not to something crazy, Ursula stands up on the bed relishing in the thought that they will be together for ever. She unzips her top and after she caresses the Memo tattoo on her chest, she croons that her love for him burns on her chest. She then takes matches out of her pants and as she lights the match, Memo repeatedly wails “Nooooo!” and pleads that she not do it!! But Ursula wicked smiles and after she says that not even death will separate them, she drops the match! Memo’s screams resonate and he gets more frantic in trying to get loose!!
FIN
My head is spinning with all the CRAZY stuff that the writers have thrown at us tonight. The scenes with Fausto and Karen saying such horrible things to Isa were very difficult to watch. Their anvils better be excruciatingly hurtful!
Rgv Chick, this was an extraordinary recap. Evil was pervasive tonight, permeating every foul word spoken and reprehensible deed committed. Yet your words wielded calm, cool logic to quell our distress. As Ursula fanned the flames of fire (literally and figuratively), your wisdom and wry wit combatted the heat. And the hurt.
This was impossible to watch, I can only imagine how very difficult it was to write. Every scene was torturous. But as always you handled the subject matter with sensitivity, kindness, caring and sympathy. We saw but your words made us feel.
Although there were so many terrible scenes, the worst (for me) was the one with Fausto, Karen and Isabela. “Fausto sneers that he has never loved her” was cruel enough but Karen calling Isabela a bas*** brought tears to my eyes. Yet, Isabela ran to Karen when she heard her struggling. A brave heart despite her shattered innocence. The second was Fausto literally ripping Isabela from Daniela’s arms. Just heartbreaking.
“The snake of a wife is home calling Satan and wondering where the hell he is!! (Should be in hell, but not…).” Oh my yes!! Only when Fausto is sentenced to an eternity of damnation will justice be done. And yes, "Their anvils better be excruciatingly hurtful!"
“Ursula is still in bed covered by a pure white (totally unlike her) sheet” made me smile. I hope Karen can never purge the image of Fausto and Ursula from her brain.
The thin line between love and hate was erased with Fausto trying to strangle Karen. They bared their fangs and are now totally unmasked. Demons, both.
If JuanPa had told Gaby he loved her before he heard the car brakes were cut, I would have (halfheartedly) supported him. But that didn’t happen. “When one loves with all your heart, you don’t abandon the one you love (how hard did that rock hit you, JP?)” was perfect Rgv Chick.
Eugenio and Amparo in their chef’s garb were so sweet; you can feel their love and staunch support. Martin is only starting to recover and Memo is already in grave peril. Daniela has lost Isabela. Again. How much more can she take?? The writers are taking far too long for Sebastian to “come to”.
Memo will survive somehow (it certainly looks dire, doesn’t it) and Isabela will surely find her way home. Surely, she, Daniela and Memo will form their much wished for family. As for the rest? I have no idea.
Thank you for so beautifully relating all of tonight’s extremely sad events.
Diana
Tonight was horrific.
Rgv Chick - you did an amazing job.
Each episode is more hurtful than the one before.
When will this torture end.
Seeing those flames around the bed w Memo, and hearing the words said to Isa — are really evil.
Like Diana said Eugenio & Amparo will continue on as lovable and supportive of each other.
There was just so much that was the ugliest of humans that for me it overshadows the few good hearted parts.
Even seeing that syringe - how coldly she injected Memo.
Hearing the punches Mac beat Memo with.
I am actually anxious for this to finally finish.
I think it has been mentally disturbing for me on so many levels.
Only a few nights to go.
Thank you for your service.
Dear Chickie, wow...thank you for bravely trudging through this darkness and cruelty . What in the world were the writers thinking ???? Did the writing team change at some point? Well, for me, they ruined in a good story . The actors continue to be excellent, but i have to wonder how they felt as the storylines just go off the rails. Is it a sign of the times that writers feel they have to ramp up the brutalty and violence in these shows? I have noticed that horror and superhero movies are most of what is being produced these days .
Luckily for me, I was recording this show while watching " The Voice. " Now I can fast forward through the horror filled scenes thanks to your excellent recap.
My mantra will have to be Judy's " Its only a story." And to quote Dr. Carlos.." Next!!!!"
I can't believe Karen still believed a marriage with Fausto was a good idea. I somehow didn't think he'd get a lover, though. But it seems any kind of commitment to him is like some kind of restraint and he wants to break free. How is Memo supposed to get out of there? I know it's a telenovela, but still.
RGV Chick, this was amazing. Just when we thought things could not get worse...
Anyway the Cabin of Doom scenes were as I predicted: right out of the old movie serials of the early 20th century. One or more of the writers on this novela must have studied those in film school. Remember also that most of them also worked on Mi Fortuna es Amarte. The last several episodes of that one were pretty over the top in the cruelty of the villains and in that case the character in the worst situation was little Benjamin, played by the same little boy playing Chema in this series.
Ursula is a demon. I can't decide between her and Karen which is the worse. Both have demons related to their mothers, but that is no excuse. Both also chose evil.
I'll try to get back later but now I have to jump on Perdona to get it done before much more time passes.
Thanks, Rgv Chick, a great recap of an extreme episode. I loved the scene where Dani and Memo were in the hospital with Martín. A loving family scene. Also enjoyed Amparo and Eugenio in the kitchen. They will have a happy life.
I have visions of the fire burning the ropes but not Memo! How else can he escape, no one’s even really looking for him. And Ursula will suffer a terrible death but never really have to face the consequences of her actions.
I really don’t want Karen to kill Fausto. I want them to suffer in prison for all the suffering they caused. At the very least Fausto needs to find out that Karen prevented Dani’s pregnancies from leading to babies.
Poor Isa, I wonder how child actors can face all that horror and still grow up happy and well adjusted. If we have to tell ourselves it’s just a story is it harder for a child who has the hatred directed at her. But since we had that glimpse of Fausto being carefree at her party I try and picture them all laughing and enjoying themselves between scenes.
Mac really went from a two-bit crook to a full fledged criminal in this. Hope he gets the same treatment as the rest of the evil ones. The only difference between them is that I think Mac did care for his kids.
Guess we have to see Sebastiana wake up and JP and Gaby reconcile. They sure are throwing a lot at us in the last few episodes!
Liz
UA: I 100% strongly agree with you on both Ursula & Karen both being super EVIL.
Bold Prediction: I wouldn't be shocked if Karen ends up DEAD!
I was disturbed by Ursula unzipping her top in front of Memo 🤔
RGV Chick: Your long detailed recaps are amazing in this Telenovela.
Steve Boudreaux
"There was just so much that was the ugliest of humans that for me it overshadows the few good hearted parts" was very well phrased Montana.
The patio's comments are all excellent and astute. We are all in agreement that Rgv Chick's recap was simply spectacular.
Yes, SO, SO frustrating that all is left to the last few episodes.
While Ursula and Karen have been especially heinous, I hope the writers don't forget justice for Fausto who was the core of evil from which much heartache sprung.
Diana
I am never good at predicting about these novelas, but unless the Mexican writers have been influenced by the Turkish dizis, I think that Memo will somehow free himself and escape because he is the galan. Being the good guy , he will even try to save awful , crazy Ursula, but he won't be able to. Ursula dealer her fate when she told Memo that fire cleanses.
I can't believe that Yo is allowing Mac to stay in her apartment after he was willing to kill her for Fausto.
Isa trying to help awful Karen when Fausto was choking her was terrible . Isa's life has been filled with trauma . I hope they get her counseling . Maybe it would be good for the two child actors to get counseling , too.
Who is going to come to save Isa from that horrific scene ? Memo and JP can't there . will Memo free himself and then go to find Isa?
I was kind of hoping that Mac would somehow redeem his amoral self and somehow finally think of someone other than himself , but he is all about his own selfish pleasure seeking ...gambling, sex, alcohol, food. How did goodhearted Ampara ever fall for this guy? I guess back when they were young , he turned on his smarmy charm . People can wear a mask for a long time before the true self is revealed .
Judyb once pointed out that these shows are actually morality plays with good pitted against evil. I am weary of evil....real and fictionalized.
I have watched behind the scenes videos of the cast , and Memo seemed very loving and close to the actress playing Isa. I didn't see the actor playing Fausto interacting with her or anyone else. I worry about these very young children being exposed to these dreadful storylines . It is hard for young children to differentiate between reality and fiction .
Good Morning and mil gracias to everyone for our kind and generous words of praise and your very insightful and extraordinary comments!
This episode had me cringing and wanting to cover my ears, but I had to catch every horrendous, hurtful word. Diana and Montana hit the mark with their remarks" Evil was pervasive tonight, permeating every foul word spoken and reprehensible deed committed. (Diana) There was just so much that was the ugliest of humans that for me it overshadows the few good hearted parts. (Montana) So ture! So true! I do recall a few tender, enjoyable scenes (Humberto holding Martin, Lola being so optimistic, Amparo and Eugenio cooking together), but all the evil just devoured them and saturated my mind.
Susanlynn, "the storylines just go off the rails. Is it a sign of the times that writers feel they have to ramp up the brutalty and violence in these shows?" THank you for that!! I keep wondering the same thing. HOw sad that writers are resorting to so much evil, just to get good ratings. If Id idn;t have to recap, I think I'd skip the last couple of episodes and maybe half of the gran final--that's when things get really "off the wall".
Urban, "Ursula is a demon. I can't decide between her and Karen which is the worse." I don;t know which is worse either, but Ursula tends to nauseate me more than Karen...and that says a lot about the Sara C's performance--she has mastered "evil and crazy."
Liz, "Poor Isa, I wonder how child actors can face all that horror and still grow up happy and well adjusted." Once again, I wonder the same thing. Not only do they have to hace the horrors, they also have to "get in character" and evoke all the painful emotions. I to hope they get some type of counseling thorughout and after the TNs end.
Steve, "I wouldn't be shocked if Karen ends up DEAD!" If she does, I hope it's a horrific, painful death. And I hope the same for Fausto, Ursula and Mac.

Part 1 of 5
Silvia and Lamberto got back to her home at the crack of dawn, knowing that Andres could be sentenced without a trial if they could not find evidence of his innocence. Both wondered how Angela could be so evil.
Elsa had not packed. She was crying when Flor entered. She told her that she and Andres were supposed to have escaped hours ago but he never showed up. She wondered what horrible thing could have happened, such as him not loving her. Flor could not believe that. Elsa suggested them going to his home but that was too risky.
Gerardo did not go down to breakfast. He ended up arguing with Elena because he was fed up with how badly Elena treated Elsa. Elena replied that all Elsa does is create problems in the family. [No, Elena; only you have the real problem with her because you want all the love in the house without giving it back to any of them except your father.] Gerardo was under the impression that she was being taken back to the Magdalene house and rhetorically asked Elena if she knew what those places were really like but Elena said that if she was going to get pregnant she had to know there would be consequences. He told her that neither she nor her father had the right to judge others. He walked out of the room and she rolled her eyes.
Antonia and Silvia talked about the situation. Lamberto had gotten a lawyer. However Silvia was not sure this would be enough. Both mother and daughter knew that Aurora would not tell the truth or her mother would end up in prison.
Flor and Elsa finished packing. Armando sent Flor out of the room to talk to Elsa alone. He said that everything he does is for her own good. She answered that she was tired of this lecture. That every time he says that every time. He's now sending her away so nobody can see her. “I'm doing this to protect you.” He said. “To protect me? Or you? All you want is for people not to talk.” Why can't you behave properly? It's better that you leave.” She got more than a little irritated with this. “Forgive me, forgive me,” she said sarcastically “that I can't be the model daughter you were expecting. You know what? You aren't the father I expected to have. A bit more loving would have been the least I wanted. You aren't. Not even a little.” “You're going to have your baby, as you wanted. Isn't that what you wanted?” “Of course, how nice. So what are you going to do with us us after we're back?” :We'll see, we'll see.” That wasn't good enough and they were shouting at each other within seconds. If you had been decent and not fooled around with that worthless – Women of your class don't have children without getting married!” “So, let me marry Andres. Let me marry Andres. I swear I wouldn't fool around with his best like Angela, for example.” She caught him for a second or two before he said “Never will I let you marry a nobody.” “So you shouted ou have blue blood in your veins, no? You're hitting low. You weren't born in a golden crib and look – ” “Don't ever compare me to that Muerto de hambre” “Why not?” “Because we are not equals!” “Of course not. He is a good person and you are not!” “You are disrespectful.” Elsa began to laugh. “You call me disrespectful after what I saw yesterday? What nerve, my God.” He laughed shortly then said “You better thank God you are my daughter. You have five minutes to get ready.”

Things To Talk About: Dialogue as Needed Edition
Part 2 of 5
Lamberto's lawyer asked Fuentes if Angela brought the rape charge after Andres reported the attempt on his life. He answered Yes. He had previously been arrested on theft charges and the judge would take that into consideration. Lamberto said proof was needed and there had been none when Armando had Andres arrested for a theft he didn't commit because he didn't want him in a relationship with his daughter. Fuentes interpreted that as preying upon girls from “good” families.. Lamberto explained Aurora lied to protect her mother, who stabbed Andres with a letter opener. Fuentes passed the buck to the judge. His tone implied that consanguinity would be a major factor in this. He got them to leave, then dropped the file he was holding onto his desk.
Armando's younger children asked why he was up so early because it was vacation time. He told them that Elsa's school is on a different schedule. They were concerned about what if their mother came home and Elsa wasn't there. He said that she wouldn't worry because this was best for Elsa. Who came down the stairs crying. She told her younger siblings she would miss them all. Miguel helped Elena and Flor take out the suitcases. They said their goodbyes, Elsa promising to return.
Lamberto and his lawyer (we still don't know her name) talked about the difficulty of the case. She said that the best option would be for Aurora to admit she lied. Lamberto told her he had tried but Aurora showed no sign of changing her mind about this. Thanks to Angela Aurora hated Andres, so they would have to find another way. The lawyer suggested getting a psychological evaluation. Lamberto nodded.
Angela went to her room sipping a drink which she dropped upon opening the door and finding Fuentes on her bed. She asked what he was doing there and he said that “after so many years of dealing with criminals you learn a few things.” She called for a servant and Fuentes said “He isn't here. We're alone.” She yelled at him to leave and he wouldn't, saying they had many things to talk about. He would not be ordered out. “Your testimony against Andres Martinez is a lie. He never tried to rape your daughter and your daughter lied to protect you. Therefore we can accuse her of giving false testimony, obstructing justice... we do have a lot of things to talk about..” She started to talk but he stopped her. “Don't worry about it, there is a solution for everything. Except death. I can say nothing, and put Andres Martinez in prison. But there is a price. I want to spend another night with you.” Angela looked like she was going to cry. [She does deserve worse.]
Antonia went to the Quiroga house to see Gerardo. They met outside. She told him about Andres' arrest and that Aurora lied and could he do something about it. He didn't believe that Andres was capable of such a crime any more than she did but had no success to date in getting either his mother or Aurora, but he said he would try anyway. She thanked him and hugged him. Elena caught them. She began accusing Gerardo of cheating on her and hurling more vitriol at Antonia. Antonia apologized and left. [Antonia, if you get this guy at the end, I hope his mother is dead by then.]

Part 3 of 5
Angela told him he was crazy and he held her and Aurora's perjuries over her head. He would tell the judge of the inconsistencies in their statements. If she didn't have sex with him he would send her and Aurora to prison. She started crying. Rocio arrived and asked whether she needed anything. She looked at Fuentes and said something about not having seen him come in. Angela made something up and asked her to escort him out. Fuentes couldn't fight this and allowed Rocio to show hi to the door.
As before, Renzo was at the airport to make sure Elsa and Flor boarded the plane.
Gerardo and Elena argued again. She accused Antonia of being a man-stealer. He told her why Antonia came to see him and she had the gall to tell him “No, no, no; you are not doing any favors for that one!” He reminded her that Andres is his half-brother just he is to Antonia and Elena called that a convenient excuse for them to see each other. She went so far as to accuse him of being just like his mother. This got into another argument about classism which ended when Gerardo said “I'm going to work and I hope I can remember why I married you.”
Armando called Padre Reynaldo from the airport to tell him that Elsa was on her way to Sonora. He expected him to come up with a family to adopt the baby. The padre said he will prioritize that immediately. Armando reminded him that they had to live as far away from San Juan as possible.
The padre said not to worry, they will. Also that he was not proud of what they were about to do. Armando said just to do his job. After the padre hung up Guillermina came in and the padre chewed her out for eavesdropping again. She denied having done so and he told her off for ratting out Elsa's pregnancy to her father because he tried to force her to have an abortion. She crossed herself and wa sweating as Padre Reynaldo chewed her out for interfering in everyone's lives.
Antonia visited Andres who asked her to speak to Elsa to tell her what happened. She knew that was risky and was afraid to. Elsa would find out because of how gossip spreads. She told him about her conversation with Gerardo. She did not see Fuentes behind her and then he said that if Angela and her daughter did not change their statements he will be considered guilty. In the interim he would be in the Reclusorio de San Miguel. Andres protested his innocence, Fuentes didn't care and just told him to get ready. Visiting time over, Antonia had to leave.
Armando went to the office where his Anonymous secretary told him there was a business matter that needed an ASAP return call and Angela – in her usual indiscreet mode – went right up to him and told him that Fuentes came after her at her house. He said “Let's go into my office” and as soon as he closed the door and sat on the couch with her he scolded her for her indiscretion. She apologized and told him what happened and what Fuentes wanted. He became angry and looked lie he was in pain. He told her to calm down and he would think of something.
Lamberto told Silvia that the only thing that could save Andres now is a psych evaluation of Aurora.
Armando called Fuentes to meet him at his cottage. They agreed on a time. Fuentes did remember where it was as it was a place he had fantasies about. When Armando ended the call Angela asked him what he was going to do. Armando said “Trust me.” He then told Angela to go home and rest.

Part 4 of 5
Horacio told his tennis buddy he was going back to Mexico City to deal with Love Lost.
At the Quiroga house Sofia was not hungry and would not eat. Elena tried scolding her and things got sticky when Estela and Elsa were mentioned. The boys became afraid that neither of them would return Armando told them that in the absence of their mother they were to obey Elena. Sofia got up to answer the door and it was her Aunt Irene, who had not seen her since she was a very small child. They went into the dining room; it was evident that Armando was not alerted to her visit. The younger kids wee happy to see her but when she exchanged greetings with Elena there was no feeling from either side. When asked why she came to San Juan she said she was worried about Estela and was under the impression that she had disappeared.
Gerardo confronted Angela about her perjury. She resisted, as expected. He tried to appeal to her (non-existent) conscience and finally asked what she was hiding and she claimed “Nothing.” and he told her that her conscience will eventually bother her about this. She played the victim with her crocodile tears and asked what he suggest she do. He told her to retract her statement and tell the truth. She got even more upset told him to leave. He did.
Armando gave Irene his official version of events regarding Estela's “mental crisis.” Elena followed his lead. Armando wanted to speak privately with Irene and the younger kids did not want to leave te dining room. Elena ordered them to obey. Miguel helped Domingo out. Irene started questioning Armando as to why she was not notified and why he didn't seem to be making any effort to find Estela. He told her he did everything possible and what could she do in Paris? He said he wasn't as calm as she thought [Master of Disguise, eh?]. “You were in France and coming here to look for your sister? Why didn't you call me?” He then gave her a pile of lies that Estela had disappeared a few days ago despite excellent treatment by Leonidas, etc. and the prospect of coming home. Irene was no fool, as she asked why Estela “escaped,” asking if she was there against her will. He did suspect that she had help because her treatment left her weak and she could not have gotten out of there by herself. The police in that area and Dr Leonidas were in charge of the search. He also said that she hadn't been the same person since the accident.
Elena was getting better, as she told Hector. She was almost prepared to confront Armando and would do that for her children. He admired her for this. She told him he had done the same when his wife died. She asked if he had a girlfriend at last. He said she was right when she said that they do everything for the good of their children.
Sofia was convinced that their father had been lying to them. She and the boys talked about their mother and Elsa and Martin decided they needed to look for their mother. Next they overheard Armando and Elena talking with Irene who told them she was staying with friends. Armando offered Elsa's room because it is currently unoccupied, but she said she was alright. She then left; she had a car waiting outside. [This lady definitely smells danger and knows when to take a sharp curve.] Elena pointed out the strangeness of the visit and Armando called his chauffeur to give him orders.
As soon as she was out the door Armando”s chauffeur got into a car behind her.

Things To Talk About: Dialogue as Needed Edition
Part 5 of 5
It looks like Guillermina shares an ugly secret with Armando. A baby conceived by her before he married Estela. She cried about it.
Sofia and her brothers needed a computer to get started but Armando had punished Domingo by confiscating his tablet due to excessive use. They couldn't get to Armando's laptop so they looked for Elena's. Sofia took it out of the nightstand drawer.
Irene checked into Hector's hotel. Antonia booked her into room 308, very near Estela's. She put in the relevant information, returned her credit card, and Irene was on her way up. The chauffeur called Armando to report this. He told him not to move until he got there. As he ended the call he told Elena he was sure Estela was hiding there.
Irene knocked on Estela's door and got in. Hector had contacted her to tell her where to find Estela.
Guillermina went to see the padre saying “I can't take it anymore. I need to confess.”
Irene had seen Armando at the airport seeing Elsa off. Estela was confused at this as she knew that Elsa and Andres had an escape plan. She was relieved that Flor was with her. She told Irene about the accident and everything else that had happened that night. Irene declared that Armando was a monster. Estela told her about the cuckoo's nest and the electroshock “treatments.” Finally that if Hector hadn't gotten her out of there she would have been murdered. Irene promised to help. They hugged.
I didn't proof this except for spelling so it wouldn't be too late.
More dirty secrets to come!
Urban, another outstanding recap with very important dialog. Your well-written summary conveyed all of the action, drama and one huge surprise.
“I'm going to work and I hope I can remember why I married you.” I bet Gerardo hasn’t been able to think of one reason.
“He tried to appeal to her (non-existent) conscience.” While I think Aurora will be redeemable, I don’t think she understands the gravity of what she has done. Worse, she doesn’t want to.
Thank heavens for Irene! Hector is a true friend and ally, but Estela needs someone in her inner circle to help her and as Elsa’s being banished, there is no one else. The children are smart and realize something is very wrong.
My intense dislike for Elena grows. Cold, unfeeling, devoid of empathy and compassion.
Lamberto and Silvia face an uphill battle. Antonia seems to be one of Andres’ few supporters.
Angela is getting more desperate as not only is she powerless against Fuentes, Armando seems to not be able to thwart him either.
“Guillermina shares an ugly secret with Armando. A baby conceived by her before he married Estela”. This came out of the blue and was confusing, especially as she was hell bent on telling Armando about Elsa.
Diana
Thank you so much ,Urban, for another detailed account of all the drama.
If Gerardo "remembers " why he married Elena, I hope he lets us know because I cannot figure out how a smart, good person decided to marry someone like Elena.
More later...have to hustle now.
So now we know why Guill keeps tattling to Armando . She had a baby with him before he married Estela. Did the baby survive ? If so, will we meet him\her ?
Did the padre contact Irene about Estela's situation ?
I can't decide who is more depraved ...Armando or Fuentes . Fuentes is obsessed with Angela . I wonder how long he has observed Armando and Angela together and lusted after Angela .... yuck to all three. Does Armando plan to kill Icky Fuentes when they meet at the cottage ?
It will be interesting to see the new place that Flor and Elsa are going to. Is Clemencia Armando's sister ?
I need more good guy scenes ...Gerardo and Hector ( whose voice is like honey). Why isn't the actor playing Gerardo getting galan roles ?
Rgv Chick, yet again you took one for the team, rendering a sterling recap of last night's horrors. Loved all your snark and commentary, especially "a man like him [JP]…incomplete (but a complete jacka$$!)"
I hope the Isa and Chema actors' next TN is a comedy.
I ignored the signs but I have to admit the writers did portend that Ursa would try to burn Memo to death like her mom did her dad. Of course Memo will be saved. But how?
Just no reasons at all for Fausto and Karen to say such cruel things to Isa. Gratuitous overkill. Now the poor child needs therapy.
Diana, I had a thought just as I posted the recap: Is it possible that Elena was that baby?
She is nothing like her siblings in terms of temperament. Beyond Guillermina she is the biggest metiche in town and is especially vicious toward Elsa. By telling Armando about Elsa Guillermina is getting back at him for having abandoned her 20+ years ago.
The one thing about this that wouldn't make sense is how would he have explained baby Elena to Estela? Could there have been a baby switch? If so who would have done it and why {I don't think it would have been Armando)? Did Estela have a stillborn child that was switched because some nurse took pity on Guillermina (as in Vencer el Pasado)? I hope it doesn't take too long to find this out.
Of course Elena doesn't know this and with the way she weaponizes the B word it would be karmic for her to turn out to be one.
Susanlynn, I think Clemencia is Estela's aunt. I have heard sobrino politico used to mean "nephew-in-law."
It was Hector who contacted Irene.
It would be foolish for Armando to kill Fuentes at this stage of the story. He would be a prime suspect.
Niecie, overkill is a good term to describe the way These writers decided to end this show. Geez . Dial it back. Is this a new trend . Leave the viewers squirming to the very end ?
Susalynn: As much as I hate it, it sure looks possible we'll be seeing trends like this in future Telenovelas going forward. In some cases, we rarely see no happy endings (see "Cuna De Lobos"), where Catalina Creel got away with all of her disgusting heinous crimes.
Gracias, Urban. All the deets I needed. I much enjoyed Elsa's comebacks to Armando, so I appreciate all their dialogue.
I'm guessing that Guillermina is still carrying a torch for Armando and that for him the relationship was strictly transactional. She likely delivered the gossip on the town's bigwigs, and he used it to get a leg up.
Armando told the kids Flor would escort Elsa to the airport and then Flor would be going to stay with her (Flor's) ailing mother. I wonder if this is true because I'm thinking Flor will stay with Elsa on the ranch.
Hoorah for Irene. She's got Armando's number. Hoorah for the younger kids forming a Scooby Gang to figure out what's going on. Kids, please be a thorn in Elena's side.
Thanks, Urban. I so enjoyed your comments like: "Antonia, if you get this guy at the end, I hope his mother is dead by then."
Some thoughts on the run. Busy day today.
Angela gets no sympathy from me. You gotta pay to play . . .
Since Clemencia is Elsa's aunt, she must be Armando's sister. That just creeps me out more.
Had to laugh that Armando told Irene that Estela would never be the same. Yeah, he hoped she never would be the same. She will never be the same because now she is going to be out ruin him.
Gerardo had no idea at all that Elena was like she was before he married her. Hard to believe.
Can't wait for tonight!!!
"Is it possible that Elena was that baby?
She is nothing like her siblings in terms of temperament. Beyond Guillermina she is the biggest metiche in town and is especially vicious toward Elsa. By telling Armando about Elsa Guillermina is getting back at him for having abandoned her 20+ years ago".
Urban, what you have noted seems entirely possible!! There must be more to this story other that that it initially seemed thrown against the wall to see if it would stick. It's SO cray cray there must be something to it!
Susanlynn, Gerardo and Elena does not compute, does it? As Jarifa noted, he had to have some idea of what she is like! She isn't lovely in any sense of the word so he can't claim to be blinded by her inner beauty because of course she has none. No sweetness or light whatsover.
Diana
Clemencia described Armando as sobrino politico, which makes her Estela's aunt. I really hate these similar name things and can't understand why people do this.
Thanks, Urban. I think my comment went to netherland, so I'll try again. I appreciate all the dialogue.
I'm guessing Armando used Guillermina back in the day for the gossip she'd bring him, to get a leg up in high society. I'm also guessing she's still carrying a torch for him.
Hoorah, Irene has Armando's number. Whoopee, the younger kids have formed a Scooby Gang to figure out what's going on.
Thanks for the info, Urban. So, where do Clemencia's loyalities lie? If they be with Armando, that is another big WHY???
We don't know anything else about Guillermina's backstory. Nobody has mentioned anything about her family or what she does for a F/T living. If she were related to Padre Reynaldo we would know that by now. She may be related to Clemencia in some way; we have yet to hear their surnames.
Or it could be that the writers had not decided this as of this episode.
Jarifa, we've already seen two families divided by attitudes regarding social class. Clemencia may be just as inflexible as Armando and since we don't know her surname or whether she was ever married we also don't know if she is the sibling of Estela's parent or married to one. But I think we will soon find that out.
Thanks Urban. That was great! I missed that Guillermina and Armando had a baby. I would say it must be someone we know. But I sure never thought it was Elena, but that does make sense as they both always have a sour look about them. Trying to imagine Guillermina passionate is difficult!
Ángela deserves many nights with Fuentes but I think Armando will at least try to kill him. Although Fuentes is no dummy and will surely be prepared.
I hate that Elsa is afraid Andres no longer loves her. And it will be a while before she learns the truth. Meanwhile she has no idea of her father’s plans for the baby. Let’s hope Padre Reynaldo has a plan!
Glad Irene showed up. She and Estela will be a good team. But Armando now has a good idea of where Estela is. I feel like she should have stayed at the house to keep up with Armando’s comings and goings. But now the kids are suspicious too! Too early for the good guys to win but will make Armando’s life a little more difficult.
It’s almost as if Geraldo and Elena had an arranged marriage. He had no idea of her true personality. Although I seem to remember her saying something about someone’s social class(probably Andres’)before the wedding. Hoping he does leave her for Antonia!
Liz
I am way late to the party! So late that today’s episode just started but I wanted to say thank you Rgv Chick! Your recap was stellar! And you really did have all the evil and horror to deal with.
Pretty much everything I would have said has been said but I wanted to add my agreement about Sara C’s performance! As horrific as the cabin scenes were last night I kept finding myself thinking how convincing her performance was! She really did a fantastic job on this show!!
Diana: I also openly despise Elena! Those Karma anvils better be good when the time comes!

She wants them to know that Fausto Beltran is the worst man of all; that’s why she’s so scared; he’s not going to stop until he kills her…he’s a murderer; he killed her brother! Memo shares the contents of the letter Aaron left him saying he killed himself because he felt so guilty about what he did to Olivia. Sandra sputters that is a lie! The man who deceived Olivia and took her baby was Fausto! Dani and Memo look at each other, astonishment etched in both of their expressions.
Daniela, still in disbelief, asks exactly what Sandra is trying to say. (Viewerville thought it was quite clear but…) Sandra replies that it’s what she has remained quiet about for many years, what has tormented her. Fausto is a monster (sing it sister!) Fausto hired her to take care of Olivia when she was pregnant. Memo exclaims that sorry excuse of a man had it all planned out as Dani ruminates as to what kind of miserable man she was married to. Memo recounts how Olivia rejected him because he was just a trucker, she wanted someone with money. Sandra tells them that Olivia never suspected that what Fausto wanted was to steal her baby…because that baby was his guarantee to get his inheritance. He made her sign a document that made her look guilty and then he had her put in prison….so she wouldn’t interfere with his plans. Dani cries that Fausto is a miserable man who has no limits! Sandra shares that the doctor who delivered Isabela was willing to tell the truth and report Fausto, but Fausto had him killed. And he has tried to quiet her too! Further, Aaron did not commit suicide; Fausto killed him to avoid having all his dirty secrets come to light!
Tears streaming down his cheeks, Eugenio tells Amparo that he has already talked to Lupita about disconnecting Sebastian…she took it badly begging him not to do it. She still has hopes that Sebastian will wake up one day, but his son doesn’t deserve to live this agony. Lupita has to go on with her life, to study abroad. His heart breaks with what he must do; he would give anything for Sebastian to go on with his life, but life keeps telling him that’s not going to happen. Eugenio cries since he has suffered so much; life took his wife and his best friend, and now this; destiny has no mercy for him. Before Amparo can reply, Daniela and Memo enter, followed by Sandra.
Diana
Fausto vows to finish everyone off! (We vow only that you be finished off!)
Memo tells Sandra that the police are coming to arrest her. Sandra says she is sorry and knows full well she must pay for what she did; she is willing to tell the police everything she knows. (Poor, delusional) Eugenio is dismayed that his daughter married a criminal; he needs to warn her and she needs to get away from Fausto! Sandra quietly asks if he is Karen’s father. Eugenio replies in the affirmative, asking if she knows Karen. Hesitantly, Sandra mutters that Karen is Fausto’s accomplice; she protects him. Because of her, all the evidence against Fausto was destroyed; she supports everything he does. Karen didn’t even care that Fausto caused her mother’s death! Eugenio gasps and asks what she’s talking about! Sandra explains that Fausto ordered her brother to sabotage the helicopter. Eugenio, turning redder and more distraught by the moment, cannot believe it! “No, no” he mutters, Karen cannot be capable of helping that beast! Memo adds that not only is Karen Fausto’s accomplice, but she also tried to kill Daniela when she pushed her down the stairs. Daniela confirms this as the truth and lip trembling, relates Karen coldheartedly caused her miscarriages. Eugenio collapses on Amparo’s shoulder as Daniela cries heartbrokenly.
At the prison, the nurse tells Gaby she is the best assistant she ever had. While she regrets losing her, she is happy Gaby will be getting out and for all she has ahead of her. Gaby appreciates all her advice and all that she has learned from her. Gaby promises not to stop until she gets her degree in physiotherapy.
Daniela wants to go look for her daughter who is with a murderer! Memo stops her saying Fausto could hurt her. Memo will find their daughter and make Fausto pay for all the harm he has caused them! He tells her to leave everything to him; she should stay with Martín.
Lupita whispers to Sebastian that she can’t imagine life without him. She tearfully reminds him he promised they would grow old together. His life can’t end like this! She cries, pleading with him to wake up. Este enters and tells Lupita how much she admires her; she wishes she could be like her and have her valor. Este sobs and admits she can’t confront all the pain she is experiencing. When Lupita asks what’s wrong, Este breaks down and cries that she can’t take it anymore. Lupita looks on caringly and concernedly.
Memo storms into Fausto’s work, calling him out. The receptionist tells Memo that Fausto hasn’t been there all day. Memo demands that they not protect that sorry excuse of a man; Fausto has his daughter and she is in grave danger; he needs to know where Fausto is! The receptionist doesn’t know and one of the guards tells him he is forbidden from entering. The receptionist promises that as soon as she knows anything about Fausto she will call Don Eugenio who is also looking for him.
Diana
A stone-faced Eugenio calls Karen. Putting all pleasantries aside, Eugenio states he never thought the day would come when he would hate her. What was she thinking when she married that criminal?! How could she protect him when she knew he killed her mother?! Karen claims that Fausto hid his dark side from her; Aaron helped her discover his secrets a little at a time. Eugenio tells her that for years, Fausto blamed him for the accident; how could she be silent and stand by the side of a monster?! Karen tells him that she knows exactly who Fausto is; he’s not only responsible for her mother’s death, he’s also been embezzling from the company for years…and he is also responsible for Sebastian being the living dead. When Eugenio demands that she tell him where he is, Karen warns that he shouldn’t confront him, Fausto is dangerous, he could kill him. Eugenio retorts “just like you killed Daniela’s babies?” Karen is surprised that he is so well informed. Eugenio again demands that she tell him where Fausto is, but Karen tells him to leave it in her hands…because what she feels for him now is a profound hate. She wants to see him destroyed, living in misery. When Eugenio snarls that Fausto belongs in prison just like her, Karen tells him not to worry; she will help him so that Fausto ends up in prison. Further, he will never see her locked up! Eugenio doesn’t know her any longer; from now on, he will no longer be her father! He doesn’t want to know anything about her! She truly does look stricken and collapses on her knees as a split screen shows Eugenio riddled with pain, rubbing his arms.
Lupita asks Este what’s going on, how can she help her. Este tells her unfortunately she can’t help. She admits that she followed in her mother’s footsteps; all she cared about was luxuries, trips and having a good time. When she met Sebastian, she fell completely in love with him, but she left him to go follow a stranger who promised her the world, but then abandoned her. Even after that, she still didn’t learn her lesson. She returned to win Sebastian back, but she was too late because Lupita had already won his heart. Lupita didn’t realize how much Este loved Sebastian. Este ruefully replies she had no idea either and now, she is paying for her mistake. She shares that her mother literally sold her to Toni and made her marry him for his money. Este accepted because she had no other recourse; she doesn’t know how to do anything; she has no skills. Toni has dedicated himself to humiliating her; he treats her cruelly. When Este hesitates, Lupita tells Este she wants to help her and asks her to confide in her. Este tearfully admits Toni abuses her; he forces her to be with him and hits her. Lupita asks Este to trust her and assures her that she will help her report Toni.
Daniela hopes Memo finds Isabela. A frustrated Juan Pa feels useless in the wheelchair; he can’t even help search for Isabela. Daniela reassures him that his staunch support is invaluable; she doesn’t lose hope that he will walk one day. After Daniela asks him not to miss any of his therapy, JP shares that today he decided to pursue physical rehab.
Diana
Lupita tells Este not to be afraid to report Toni for spousal abuse; it’s the only way she can stop his atrocities. Este cries that Lupita has no idea the hell she is living in. Lupita encourages her to trust the police because that is the only way Este can be protected. Este cries that she is scared so Lupita tells her that the sooner Este reports him the better, and she needs to get a restraining order too.
Memo asks Yolanda for Fausto’s address. Yolanda refuses to give it to him; she doesn’t want any problems with Fausto. When Memo tells her that Fausto is a murderer, Yolanda agrees, telling him that is exactly why she won’t get involved and promptly shuts the door in his face. Yolanda calls Macario and explains Memo is looking for Fausto…and she thinks Fausto’s time has come since Memo already knows that Fausto is a criminal.
Macario tells Fausto that he went to the cabin where Ursula took Memo and it was burned to the ground. He thinks Ursula is responsible as she’s missing some screws. Knowing his niece as he does, he feels Ursula would prefer she and Memo die together before she would let him go. Fausto is glad that he is finally rid of that trailero, but Macario warns him, not so fast! Memo is alive and looking everywhere for him. Fausto needs to be careful because it’s already been discovered that Fausto ordered Ursula to sabotage Daniela’s car. Macario advises Fausto to look for somewhere to hide because this will not end well. Fausto orders Macario to find him a secure hidey hole.
Lupita accompanies Este to file the complaint where she tells the detective Este is there to report her husband. Este still worries since she doesn’t know how to do anything; so Lupita tells her of available resources, organizations dedicated to help woman who are abused. There are many and varied services offered to women in Este’s position. Este cries putting her head on Lupita’s shoulder.
Karen tells Isabela to come because they are going to talk to her mamita. Isabela urges Karen to please call her mother; she wants to talk to her. Karen murmurs that this will be the last time she will see her face.
Back at their former house, at first glance, all seems rather serene, Juan Pa lovingly holding Martin, Chuchita fussing in the background. Memo is going to drop Chema off at school and ask if anyone knows anything about Isabela. When Dani reminds him that they can’t do anything without evidence, Memo assures her that they will find Isabela. Chema will ask all his classmates to pray for Isabela.
Diana
After Memo leaves, Karen calls Daniela, telling her she has Isabela. Karen warns Daniela not to let anyone know she is talking with her and orders her to go somewhere she can talk. Daniela grabs her phone and immediately steps outside. Karen tells Daniela that she took Isabela from Fausto. She hands the phone to Isabela who cries, telling her mommy that she is very scared; her papa Fausto doesn’t love her and he told her he should have thrown her in the trash. Eyes aghast, Daniela asks where she is so she can go get her but Isabela doesn’t know. Karen then tells Daniela that if she wants to see her daughter, she will have to do exactly as she says. Daniela will do whatever Karen wants; she just needs to know where her daughter is. Karen tells her that they should meet alone and swears that if Daniela tells anyone, she will never see her daughter again! Dani swears and again asks where she is. After Daniela listens, she says she knows where the place is; she’s on her way!
Yolanda, replete with bucket and broom, reluctantly seems prepared to clean what we assume is the new snake pit for Fausto. She complains that is why Macario brought her there (check), Fausto is his boss not hers she grouses. Macario tells her to stop nagging as she will be well paid as he flashes a pile of bills in her face. Also, Macario doesn’t think Fausto will last long there. Yolanda wonders what Macario is up to since he was so willing to kill her to get in Fausto’s “good” graces. Macario tells her that it’s one thing for Fausto to mess with her, but it’s a totally different thing when he messes with his Gaby Chula. When Yolanda admonishes him that he always preferred Gaby over Grace, Macario chides her for comparing Gaby to Grace…Grace is a thievin’ rat! In a huff, she counts her bills.
Chuchita asks for Danila but Amparo thought she was with Chuchita. No, Chuchita has been looking for her. Amparo asks Memo if he found out anything. Nothing he admits saying he came to speak with Daniela. Alas, Memo is told that Daniela is not there. They do not know what we do; that Karen has lured Daniela into a trap…
In the last scene of the evening, we see Daniela taking a few tentative steps in a warehouse. Daniela is calling out for Karen, asking where Isabela is. Next, we see a split screen with Karen striking her weaver stance, training her gun on Daniela.
Diana
The all encompassing, beautifully captured dialog is Rgv Chick's. Her generosity along with one of the greatest gifts of all, time, is gratefully appreciated. And very much valued.
The drama continues unabated.
I was hoping the writers might throw us a bone. Sebastian's eyelid fluttering, a small movement of Sebastian's hand? Nopis. Nothing. Nada.
Well, time is running out. With only two episodes left, the time has come to wrap this up. Hopefully, we will have more than a few minutes to celebrate and savor some happiness! :)
Diana
Diana: AWESOME job on the recap of last night's episode. Very long but thoroughly detailed & I am waiting to see what the Karma anvil for Karen looks like.
Steve Boudreaux
Thank you Diana!! Your recap is beautiful, and such a pleasure to read as always. You weaved poetry into the retelling of chaotic events and paint a beautiful picture!
I am in a rush this morning so I can’t say much but I wanted to post real quick as I doubt I will have time to later.
If the writers put us through all this waiting just to kill Sebas off with a dramatic plug pulling, I will be so disappointed! They had that beautiful Sebas celebrating episode the day of the accident that would have served better as a death episode if they were going to do that! Now that you’ve let him live this long, let him live!!!
What will it take to get Yo to truly kick Mac to the curb???
Gracias, Diana, great work.
It must take some serious self-hatred to commit suicide by fire. How old was Ursula when her mother burned her father and then when her mother died? Why did nobody get her any help?
Another issue I'm having is where did Karen's mental illness come from? Eugenio wasn't anything like Lisandro of Vencer el Pasado who was pressuring his daughter to marry and become a SATM. Eugenio didn't seem to mind Karen being single and child-free and I doubt he would have objected to her marrying for love. What he had failed to see -- because she concealed it well -- is that she is incapable of love.
We can probably attribute Fausto's madness to his father's control freakiness and Fausto's own stubbornness to not really learn how to adult.
I think this explains both of their hatred of the Santos family whose members all respect and love each other. They are envying them for what they have that money can't buy.
Need to get to writing as I wait for FedEx to deliver. See you guys later.
Thanks, Diana, it’s a treat to wake up to your beautiful writing.
Things are slowly getting resolved and we have one less crazy person to worry about. Memo seemed regretful as he heard her screams. I felt it was a just punishment for all the evil she did.
Eugenio has had so many different emotions. What a great job he’s doing. I can’t believe we still don’t know Sebastian’s fate. I hope he lives but am worried.
Dani should never have gone to meet Karen alone. I don’t know how she’ll escape, but we know she will.
Hard to believe Yolanda is still doing Mac’s bidding. And why is Mac helping Fausto. I guess the money. Both his daughters are suffering because of Fausto so I find it hard to believe he’s helping him hide.
The writers are doing a good job of revealing things little by little. They started with JuanPa finding out Grace made up that night. I wonder if we’ll see her again. I like everything wrapped up and tied with a bow! No loose ends!
Liz
Steve, good to see your post!
Thanks very much.
Every successive night has been turning into its own short story.
So much to capture!
Diana
Thank you for your lovely words Darcy, all of your support and kindness has been greatly appreciated.
I honestly did think Sebastian was going to wake last night, especially when Lupita was shaking him, begging he open his eyes. I am still holding onto hope though. It would be utterly cruel of the writers to not let him live after all this. Despite Amparo and her family, after what happened with Karen, Eugenio would be inconsolable.
Best of luck for the remainder of your very busy week!
Diana
Urban, thank you so much!
"It must take some serious self-hatred to commit suicide by fire". Yes, that and a demented mind...surely one of the most hideous deaths imaginable. And you raised a good point in that no one got help for Ursula. She did have other family, Macario (such as he is), but perhaps intervention might have helped? We will never know.
Karen "is incapable of love". Yes! That appears to be an overarching theme as I also feel the same about Ursula and Fausto.
Their jealousy and resentment of the Santos family is just as you phrased it- excellent.
Diana
Dear Diana, thank you for an excellent recounting of all the darkness and danger . This show is a study in people coping with evil . We hold hands as we hope to see good triumph over evil . ...please.
Karen, Fausto, and Ursula are perhaps metaphors for the awful events that people have to withstand .
It will be interesting to see how the writers decided to deal with Karen and Faust on who have no regrets for the damage they have done to so many people. Pure ,unrelenting evil.
Liz, thank you for your sweet words.
Like you, I have fear and anxiety on several fronts.
"Dani should never have gone to meet Karen alone". No, and it upsets me that after all the cruelties, all these years, Karen is still manipulating and hurting Dani. Here, trying to lure her to her death.
Eugenio is an amazing human being. Despite his heartache, it is he who is holding the families together with his strength. The Santos family has been blessed with wonderful children, an amazing mother and two devoted sons. Nothing and no one can break their bond. That said Eugenio is clearly a stronger and slightly kinder father figure than Humberto.
Liz, one thing I am always concerned about when someone dies is to confirm that by seeing the dead body. Will Ursula's charred remains be found?? Or will she rise like Phoenix from the ashes??
I thought that Grace might reappear as well. She was an integral piece of the puzzle for quite some time.
Diana
"Pure unrelenting evil" indeed Susanlynn! And, thank you so much...
I'm not big on revenge but I am willing to make exceptions. Fausto deserves nothing less than death. So many monstrous crimes but what he did to Olivia and little Isabela stands out as particularly heinous.
I know we are all holding our collective breaths to see how these fractured storylines are resolved. At the very least, I am hoping for a wedding! Please writers, throw us (and Daniela and Memo) a bone. And if they want to make it a double, Eugenio and Amparo would be marvelous!
Diana
Thank you so much, Diana, for such a wonderful brightspot of my day! You brilliantly sprinkled gold dust throughout the recap to give it an amazingly lustrous shine. Your talent for depiciting all the emotions and sordid events with such flair, eloquence and compassion is super-duper bedazzling :-)
I'm late to the party and don't have much to add to all the insightful and interesting comments everyone has already made.
I do want to agree wiht you, Diana, in that " one thing I am always concerned about when someone dies is to confirm that by seeing the dead body." On top of that, I took note of Memo saying that he "THINKS" Ursula is dead. It wouldn't surprise me if Ursula did indeed "rise like Phoenix from the ashes" but I hope NOT!!
Gracias, Diana and Rgv Chick. Such a pleasure to read your vivid descriptions and dialogue. The recap started with a blast, "Enveloped in the steely grip of insanity, Ursu..." and kept going full throttle. Super job.
Karen's long-held desire to be married to Fausto ended with her having, maybe, five minutes tops of wedded bliss with him. And the idiot doesn't grasp she wasted her time and ruined her life. Still barreling away to hurt him and Dani.
I sure hope Dani has some sort of plan. I know she would sacrifice herself to save Isa, but Karen is sick sick sick. You can't negotiate with her.
Too much Este last night. I don't care about her, but I do get the "don't put up with abuse" PSA.
Lupita is sweet and very strong to remain by Sebas's side, but would Sebas want to live like this? Are there signs that his brain is functioning? If they want to do this storyline, they should give Viewerville some facts.
Rgv Chick, thank you for your lovely and heartening comments. You gave every scene life and vibrancy through your brilliant dialog. I could not have done this without you. Your kindness and generosity are boundless.
Yes, I fear Ursula is still among the living (as much as the daughter of darkness can be of course). Thank you for reminding us that Memo did say he "thinks" she is dead, keeping his wits about him even though he was understandably traumatized by his ordeal. Due to the fact the fire was a raging inferno, I would be surprised if Ursula escaped unscathed but we shall see.
Looks like a Daniela/Karen showdown tonight. Will this be Karen's swan song? We can but hope!
Diana

Part 1 of 5
Padre Reynaldo prepped Guillermina for her confession. She blamed herself for what Armando did to Elsa. It made her recall things she had wanted to forget and of which she was ashamed. She had fallen in love with him at first sight.
Renzo escorted Flor and Elsa to Sonora. They were at the bus station near the airport. He said that according to his brother they would be on the bus for three hours. There was no other way and he couldn't call him because his brother didn't have a phone. He went to look for the appropriate departure gate. Elsa desperately wanted to get to a phone to call Carlos to make sure Andres was alright.
Armando arrived at the hotel. His chauffeur was waiting outside. Nobody had left, but he was unable to find out Irene's room number.
Guillermina confessed she had fallen in love with Armando. She was not sure that he knew. She was sure that the love was a sin because Armando was married. He eventually told her that he felt nothing for her, but she continued to love him. She had not been sure whether he knew before that. She had become servile and became an unquestioning accomplice.
The kids looked up the manicomio. Martin researched what it would cost him to get there.
Silvia and Antonia were talking about Andres' situation when Armando got inside and demanded to know Irene's room number. He was told they could not tell him this but they could tell her that he was there to see her. He came behind the counter and shoved Silvia aside to look at the registry. Antonia tried to stop him going to the stairs.
Horacio told his dad he wanted to go back to Mexico City. Although he loved being with his family he said his life was there. Hector said he needed him, more so now because Carlos is married and wanting to spend time with his wife and if he (himself) gets elected he'd have less time for the hotel. Silvia ran into his office to tell him that Armando bullied his way past the desk to look up Irene's room number. Hector and Horacio got up and ran to deal with this. Armando hit him when he tried to restrain him
Irene was in Estela's room. They heard Armando pounding on the door to Irene's room and him telling her to let him in. Also Hector telling him to stop and not create a scandal. She opened the door and came out in her robe while Estela hid in the bathroom. Hector greeted her and apologized for the disturbance. She asked Armando what the urgency was as she had been at his place earlier that day. He asked her why she told him she was staying with friends when she was at the hotel. She answered that Hector is a life-long friend. He accused her of staying with Estela. She answered that she was there specifically to look for her. Armando had the gall to enter Estela's room to look. Before he could open the bathroom door Irene said “I'm alone here.” Armando questioned why she was in that room that was leased for 300 days and she said she didn't like the view from the other. Hector, thoroughly fed up with this, finally made Armando leave. The women thanked Hector and all breathed a sigh of relief. Armando paid his chauffeur extra on his way out as this was not in his usual duties.
Renzo slept on the bus on the way to Clemencia's place. Elsa took his phone out and tried to call Silvia, but it did not connect. She was worried that Andres would not be able to find her.

Part 2 of 5
Irene advised Estela not to give in to these impulses and to be careful before returning to her own room. One wrong step and she could lose the ground she had gained.
The bus arrived at the destination. Clemencia sent her godson, Manuel, to pick them up. He took the ladies' luggage to the car. [This is likely to be the only courtesy shown to them].
Lamberto went to see Andres with documents to sign accepting Lamberto's last name. Lamberto told him that Silvia didn't know about this. Andres answered that this was not a decision to make lightly. Lamberto told him to take all the time he needs.
Armando went home, loosened his tie, and sat on the couch. He was short of breath. Elena came down the stairs and asked him if he was alright. He told Elena he had seen Irene and that she as staying at Hector's hotel. Elena said she lied and Armando sarcastically told her that Irene said they were friends. She told him to stop dealing with these things because she was concerned for his health. She said she would die if anything happened to him. He touched her face saying not to worry; nothing bad was going to happen.
Manuel drove them to the ranch in an ancient VW Bug. This would take another hour [Nt sure what else he said, but it might be something about not being able to afford a new car]. Upon arrival Elsa and Flor were acknowledged but not welcomed. When Flor made a comment about the distance Clemencia tch-tched her, saying she didn't ask her opinion. Elsa said not to talk to her like that and Clemencia said she addresses employees as she pleases. Elsa defended Flor, saying she was family. Clemencia addressed Elsa as though she were a stupid child Flor told Clemencia she didn't care what she thought of her; she was there by orders of Don Armando to take care of Elsa. As Clemencia was about to strike with her riding crop Elsa reached to grab it. Clemencia ordered her to go to the kitchen. Elsa handed a note from her father; Clemencia said she would read it later. Elsa asked about Nora and Clemencia said something about “Who knows what that girl is up to.” Then – almost ominously – “Let's go.”
As they went inside Renzo told Manuel he had to get back. Manuel said that it would have to be tomorrow because it was late due to the bus schedule. They went inside.
Nora was in the stable fooling around with her lover. She said she had to get back to the house. She asked if he feared her mother and he said No, that he respected her. Their conversation centered around her mother whom she neither respected nor feared. He said he liked this and they continued their roll in the hay.
Armando called Padre Reynaldo to ask if he could find a temporary replacement for Flor. The padre said he knew someone and he would call him back.

Part 3 of 5
Nora came in and greeted Elsa sincerely with “Welcome to the end of the world.” Elsa explained she was not there by choice. Her father had sent her there because she is pregnant and he didn't want anyone to know. Clemencia looked up and asked why her father didn't tell her. Elsa answered that she didn't know; she thought he had. Nora asked how far along and Elsa told her four months. Clemencia said to Nora “Don't ask; be discreet.” Clemencia said this was not dinner-table conversation and asked where she had been. She said she was feeding the horses. Her lover entered and – no sorpresa – it turns out that the man she was fooling around with – Ivan – is actually her stepfather. Clemencia introduced them and Elsa said “I didn't know you were married.” Clemencia answered “It was just a little while ago.” He sat down at the table and put his hand on Nora's shoulder. “How's my little girl?” [This would shock Elena into a coma. Too bad she isn't seeing this.]
Flor was not at the table and Elsa asked why. Clemencia said she was eating in the kitchen with the other employees, as was proper. Elsa got up, refusing to eat at the table if Flor was not allowed. Clemencia slapped her hard and told her that pregnancy doesn't get her any privileges. “You can be a spoiled brat in your own home but not here.” and demanded that she resume her seat. Nora was clearly embarrassed by this and whispered to Elsa to sit down.
Silvia and Antonia talked about the hotel incident, then about Andres Silvia called Fuentes who gave her the bum's rush. Antonia suggested she call the new mayor to put the man in his place.
Elsa was told she had to share Nora's room while Flor was being banished to the servants' quarters. Clemencia told her the mealtimes and the correct way to address her. So far she has made the Monster Superior look like The Singing Nun. There was a subtle sarcastic note in Elsa's compliance. Clemencia said “You have the insolent demeanor of your mother.”
[I thought I was hallucinating] Elena in a silk peignoir seduced Gerardo? She entered their bedroom asking “Do you have time for me?” He was happy, saying he had almost given up hope. She took off the outer part and he took off his shirt with her help. “ I don't want you to go off with thte first woman who flirts with you.” He eventually had to say that Antonia had embraced him out of gratitude, nothing else. She said she would die without him. However the look on her face showed she was not into it. The following morning when he tried to get amorous again she rejected him with all the usual accusations, including Antonia. Finally she accused him of wanting sex at all hours finishing with “I'm not one of those women. This does not signify that you love me with all your heart. Now excuse me because I'm gong to take a shower.” The look on his face said that he was coming to the feeling that this was an insult.
Irene went to meet Fuentes. She told him she was reporting Estela's disappearance. He knew where Estela was supposed to be and she told hi that her sister had escaped. She accused Armando of having done nothing. He said that he had no authority in the jurisdiction but said he would make an exception for the wife of Armando Quiroga. He sent her to the Ministerio Publico to file her report. He then took his keys and left the station.
Sofia counted out the money she and her brothers had and Martin said he had better take the bus. He led Elena to believe he was going to fútbol practice.

Part 4 of 5
Fuentes met Armando at the cottage. Armando told him he would not get another roll in the sheets with Angela. Fuentes told him that Angela and Aurora could do a minimum of eight years for perjury and Angela ten more for the attempted homicide while Andres would go free. He told Armando to imagine such a beautiful woman doing serious time in prison. “You have no limits,” Armando said. “We're the same that way,” Fuentes replied. “The whole world knows that in San Juan everyone does as you say, like the other day. Nothing personal, just business. Nothing more. Now, if you aren't going to do anything I'll leave.” Armando told him to wait. He would try to convince Angela to trade her flesh again. Fuentes then bargained for another cash payment. Armando agreed to this if and only if Fuentes could guarantee that Andres was incarcerated and the charge he made against Angela disappears. Fuentes agreed, said “It's a pleasure doing business with you” and they shook hands. Armando's expression said that he didn't trust Fuentes one bit.
Padre Reynaldo got a woman named Lily to take the job at the Quiroga household. She knew something of Armando's reputation but agreed to do this. She will become the padre's spy, especially after Estela appeared.
Armando told Angela about his meeting with Fuentes. He told her she would not have to boink him again. She could not get Armando into bed at this point; he said he had many things to do. [He looked tired and unlikely to have had the energy necessary for this.]
Martin went to the reception desk at the manicomio but could not get any information out the receptionist, who said that Leonidas was not in.
Irene and Estela talked. There had been a missing person's report but it had disappeared. Now there is a new one. We find out that the family business is textiles and Armando quadrupled the business since he took over operations. However, Estela still owns the company and Irene holds enough shares to overrule Armando if necessary. He will be in for a nasty surprise if he tries anything serious.
An orderly at the manicomio told Martin that his mother had escaped. Someone had to have helped her. The medications Leonidas prescribed kept her tired and she became weak. He advised Martin to leave and told him he hopes he will find his mother.
Lamberto told Silvia about his meeting with Andres. She worried about this.
Martin made it back home just barely in time for dinner. He prepped himself to look as though he had just been working out. An argument was beginning as Estela called the house. Sofia answered and only she heard Estela's voice. Elena grabbed the phone from Sofie and Estela hung up at the sound of her voice. Elena accused Sofie of lying, holding to Armando's lie about Estela being in hospital. Elena also accused Irene of being crazy. Sofia and Martin accused Elena of lying. They then left the dining room, taking Domingo with them. This led to another argument between Elena and Gerardo which went from her resenting having to run the household and back to the same argument about sex.

Powder Keg: Dialogue as Needed Edition
Part 5 of 5
Armando was with Angela and she was trying to look sexy in her bed. He looked as though he had exerted himself a bit too much and was dressed to leave. She tried to get him to stay as he was not expected home. She asked if Fuentes returned. He said that the next night with Fuentes would not happen. He told her not to insist. He didn't like what was going on in his house.
Sofie and her brothers talked about finding out who helped their mother escape. They all missed her.
Fuentes called Armando to tell him that Andres would be in the San Miguel facility by tomorrow night. He assumed Armando would comply with his part of the bargain. Armando said that it was a deal when Fuentes provides proof.
Elsa asked Ivan and Clemencia how they met. Clemencia said it was when he came to help with destruction caused by a fire. Elsa asked whether her father knew and Clemencia said she had not had time to tell him but she will when he calls to check up on her. Ivan made a stupid joke about the conversations they had about her father in which Clemencia referred to him as “my rich nephew.” She kicked him under the table. Nora tried to excuse herself and leave the table, but her mother was not having it. She got up and ordered Nora to return to the table. She did not; she went outside. Elsa watched, cautiously.
The following morning at breakfast Armando obviously was not feeling well. He loosened his tie and declined to eat. The kids began arguing and Elena panicked and ran to her father. Gerardo put his fingertips at the jugular vein and knew something was very wrong.
Niecie, thank you for your kind comments.
You are such a careful reader and it always makes me happy to see the particular lines that you've enjoyed.
Karen's (new and too long delayed) hatred of Fausto is understandable and I hoped she would focus all her rage and revenge on him! But nopis. She is bound and determined to annihilate Daniela. Niecie, I fear Daniela doesn't have any game plan at all! As the heroine I know she will survive but I shudder to think of what is ahead...
You asked excellent questions regarding Sebastian. I will hazard a guess that his brain is functioning and that his vitals are stable. I can't say what he would want but suspect that he might want a fighting chance to recover. Eugenio did the right thing by keeping him intubated and is now doing the same by questioning if his beloved son will indeed return. What a terrible burden.
Diana
Thanks, Urban, for another outstanding recap!
This was a very enjoyable episode.
The good:
Elsa AND her sister own the textile business that Armando runs.
It looks like Armando is having a heart attack.
Irene has reported Elsa missing to Fuentes.
Lili will be a spy for Héctor.
Armando seems to be open to serving up Angela to Fuentes if he has to.
Gerardo is insisting on marriage counseling.
The situation with Iván double timing his wife with his step-daughter can blow up at any time, enhancing Elsa's opportunity for her escape.
The bad:
Estela just having to call home and talking to Sofí. That was a real Duh! moment.
Thanks, Urban, for an outstanding recap. Lots happened and it’s mostly good.
Elsa will have a friend in her cousin. But I hope she can get to see Flor some.
So everyone in the household knows Estela escaped except Elena. If it doesn’t align with her thinking it’s a lie. And boy did she look bored while having sex. I wonder if she walked in on her dad and some random woman when she was young and It traumatized her.
Our Padre is pretty smart. He now has a spy in the house. And Guillermina feels guilt, as she deserves.
I fear Andres will be in prison by tonight. I hope it’s not for too long. At least it sounds like Angela will have to spend another night with creepy Fuentes. That pleases me. Maybe it will become a regular thing.
So the company belongs to the sisters, or to Estela with Irene as a major shareholder. He must realize that and I’m sure he’d like to get rid of both sisters.
It would be nice if Renzo got stuck on the ranch for a while. He didn’t eat with them, I wonder if he’s considered a servant too.
I hope the younger kids get to see their mom soon but I don’t think they’d be able to keep it secret. It should be fun watching them play detective. I think the ranch may be fun too, with mother and daughter sharing the same guy!
Liz
Thanks, Urban. "So far she [Clemencia] has made the Monster Superior look like The Singing Nun. -- Yes, indeed!
I still wouldn't put it past Guillermina to do Armando's bidding. At her age and with what she went through with Armando, why is she such a snoop and blabbermouth?
When Armando stormed into Irene's hotel room, I loved when she feigned innocence saying something to Armando like "What's the urgency? Did you find Estela?"
Andres, keep your given name. Lamberto means well, but who would want to be joined by name to Angela and Aurora? Besides, I can see the prosecution using a name change to try to demonstrate Andres envied the Lambertos and that's why he attacked Aurora.
I was gobsmacked that the man Nora had been making out with was her mom's husband. It was driving me crazy where I'd seen Nora before, so I googled. She was the loco sister in "Ringo."
I dont think Ursula survivee. I figured Memo would free himself because he is a galan, and galans arent usually rescued because they are the heroes who rescue people including themselves . I think Ursula perished in the flames because she said " Fire cleanses" ,and fire would cleanse her tormented soul and cleanse her from the lives of Memo, Dani, and her children.
Regarding Seb, I am wondering if this storyline is advocating plugging or unplugging a loved one from life support. I have never had to make that decision despite losing many loved ones. The decision must be tortuous for this e who have to make it .
I hope we get several HEAs. As birth used to say nobody actually gets a happy ending ,but you may get a happy middle.
Urban, another fantastic recap!
Elena tells Armando “she said she would die if anything happened to him” and in the next breath tells Gerardo “she would die without him”. I completely believe her words to Armando but think she must have meant to tell her husband “she would rather die than be with him! “ 😊
“He sat down at the table and put his hand on Nora's shoulder. “How's my little girl?” skeeved me out. No. Just no.
Guess Elsa was in purgatory before as she surely is in hell now.
Will there be anything Silvia and Lamberto can do to help Andres??
So, no one tells the kids that mom is no longer in the manicomio? Has it not occurred to Armando the youngsters weren’t going to be put off forever?
I really thought Estela was going to get caught. I like Irene who handled herself so well under Armando’s withering eye.
Armando sells out Angela. Again. Something has got to give here…
‘Gerardo put his fingertips at the jugular vein and knew something was very wrong”. If only it were fatal…Ack.
Thank you Urban!
Diana
Niecie, that one didn't surprise me all that much. The isolation and the resentment Nora has for her mother can lead to such things.
Armando can't die yet: Jorge Salinas is the reason for most of the viewers!
Guillermina likely has nothing better to do. Padre Reynaldo needs to work on her guilt and find out about her pregnancy.
Now I'm thinking that this will end with Elena committing suicide. She will still not go to a marriage counselor.
Armando doesn’t have to die but could end up like Hector Salamanca in Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul calling the shots from his wheelchair.
Previously--Dani arrives at the warehouse calling out for Karen and asking where Isabela is. Karen comes out from behind a column pointing her gun at Daniela...
Dani tries to keep calm as she asks where her daughter is. Karen replies that she is very close; anxious to hug her. When Dani shouts out for Isa, Karen barks “Shut up! Don’t yell; the little bastard won’t hear you. And if she could, it wouldn’t do any good!” Dani cries as she asks what Karen did to her. Karen deflects and tells Dani that because of her, she was never able to be happy and Dani has to pay for that. Dani pleads that Karen can do whatever she wants to her, but not to involve her daughter in this. As she pleads, Dani's phone rings. Karen snarls that if she wants to see her little bastard, she’d better turn off her phone. Dani gets her phone and sees that it’s Amparo. She hesitates and, instead of turning it off, she slides the “SOS” button! Clueless Karen then tells Dani to throw the phone as far as she can!
At the restaurant, everyone’s phones start chiming…and they know Dani is in trouble! Memo hopes that she wasn’t crazy enough to go confront Fausto alone and runs out to save his damsel in distress!
Dani asks Karen to lower the gun (yeah? Right!); they should end this. Dani again asks where her daughter is, but Karen’s mind is only on seeing Dani dead. Dani pleads that the only thing she wants to do is hug Isabela. Karen hisses that she already lost the last one she had left; her father hates her (and rightly so) just as much as she hates Dani. Dani had the life she dreamed of, the man she loved; Dani stole her happiness! Karen was only Dani’s shadow; she was only Fausto’s lover, and becoming his wife was useless. Dani tries to convince Karen to return her daughter to her and assures that Karen still has time to find a purpose for her life, but Karen only gets more upset and sneers that there's nothing now that can keep her from finishing off Dani…and her maldita squincla (brat)! Dani cries in desperation and fear pleading for their lives.
Fausto sees the place Mac has for him…and no way will he stay there! Mac doesn’t think Fausto can find a better place—it’s far from the city and the roads are intricate. Mac doesn’t care since it’s Fausto who has to hide. Fausto needs a gun, ASAP; and Mac warns it won’t be cheap!
Yo opens the door and sees a policeman who asks if she is Graciela’s mother. After Yo complains thinking that Grace has gotten herself in trouble, the cop laments that he has to inform her that her daughter was found dead as a result of an overdose! Yo’s eyes surprisingly fill with tears as she cries “No puede ser!” (and I'm saying the same thing!) She then thinks of and visualizes Grace as she sobs inconsolably.
Karen has led Dani to another place in the warehouse; she wants to enjoy watching Dani as she sees her daughter die! Dani continues to cry and plead; she even gets on her knees begging Karen to kill her if she wants, but not to hurt her daughter. Karen is extremely pleased seeing Dani kneeling before her, but it does no good because Karen will have the same amount of compassion as Dani had for her when she married Fausto! As Dani cries that she didn’t know, Memo comes running in and calls out for Karen asking her to stop.
Yo looks at a picture of Grace crying that she did wrong by Grace…she was not a good mother (ya think!). She holds the picture tightly crying “my baby.” (yo too late, Yo!)
Memo tells Karen to put the gun down as they hear the blaring sirens approach. When Karen looks away, Memo hits her hand sending the gun to he floor but it fires! Karen runs away and Memo quickly goes to Dani asking if she’s okay; then they hear Isabela cry out and they run to her. Meanwhile the SWAT team enters the warehouse, pointing their guns as they raid the place. Memo and Dani have run to Isabela who is tied to a column, but Karen is with her and tells them not to get close! After she tells Dani that if she wants her daughter, she should come for her, Isa cries out for her mother as a cop tells Karen that she is surrounded and has no where to run; she needs to give herself up. Karen responds that she will not go to prison and again tells Dani that if she wants her daughter, she should come for her! Memo asks Dani not to go, but Dani knows Karen and walks slowly toward her as she asks the cops not to shoot!! Dani tries to remain calm as she gets close and asks Karen to hand over her daughter; if she does, everything will be ok.” Karen nods and smiles as she GRABS Dani! And she pulls Dani with her toward the edge of the open building yelling that Dani is going to die with her!! Karen falls back but Dani yells and tries to get her balance!! Memo yells out and runs to her, but Daniela is falling !! Memo jumps and reaches out and as Daniela falls, he grabs her hand catching her hand an holding her as she hangs on the side of the building. Meanwhile, Karen shrieeeeks as she falls and lands on top of a car shattering the windows and rendering her lifeless with her eyes wide open and blood trickling from her mouth! Memo cries out for help!! The cops help him pull Dani up and Memo hugs her repeatedly asking if she is okay.
Mac enters Yo’s apartment and noticing how depressed she looks, ask what’s wrong. Yo sadly and slowly tells him that their daughter died. Mac falters and has to hold on to the wall, visibly affected. When he asks what happened, Yo cries that a policeman came to tell her that Grace overdosed; and now she has to go identify the body, but she is not capable of seeing her baby like that. Mac plays with his infamous dice as he solemnly states that one can escape the lightning bolt, but not the line. Yo admits that Grace always felt alone; she must have fallen into bad company as she looked for affection and she probably got hooked just to feel accompanied. Yo couldn’t even hug her…she wasn’t there to hold her hand in Grace’s last minutes. With misty eyes, but still being true to himself, Mac spews that Grace got what she deserved! She stole from them…and enough! When he adds that they got rid of a problem, Yo SLAPS him!
At the warehouse, Memo and Dani run to Isabela and untie her. Memo picks her up to carry her and Dani hugs her as Isa sobs that she is very scared. Memo promises that no one will ever separate them again! (how many times has Isa been promised that??) …and Memo and Dani smother her with kisses and all their love. …while Karen still lies dead on the crushed hood of the car.
Yo reproaches Mac for always preferring his other children; he didn't even giving Grace his last name. She barks that he was to blame for her daughter not being happy…he killed her!! Mac huffs back “No! Don’t blame me. You weren’t the exemplary mother.” Yo acknowledges the hurtful truth as she continues to cry. She made a grave mistake; she always put him before her and she will never be able to ask Grace to forgive her for that. Mac half-smirks as she adds that she won’t be able to tell Grace that she loves her. He tells her not to exaggerate. Yo then grits her teeth as she hisses, “Lárgate! (Leave) I don’t want to ever see you again. Listen carefully, I swear on Grace’s memory that you will have regrets. Lárgate!!” And so he does…
Now in Isabela’s bedroom, Memo and Dani watch as the doctor checks Isabela. He tells them that Isa is in perfect (physical) health; there’s nothing to fear. They should let Isa rest for the rest of the day and continue with the therapy with her psychologist. After the doctor leaves, Memo sits on one side of Isa and Dani on the other as they caress and kiss her.
The family and special friends are gathered outside the prison. Lupita excitedly tells Amparo, "She’s coming!" All eyes are on Gaby as she walks out of the prison with a smile. Amparo and Lupita are the first to hug Gaby as they praise God. After everyone else hugs Gaby, they form a circle and Humberto leads them in praying a Hail Mary.
The Santos family is now seated at their table in the restaurant and everyone is glad to have Gaby back. Gaby shares that the experience was very harsh, but she matured. She realized that there are many women locked up unjustly and will need a good lawyer like Lupita. Lupita confides that she has been thinking that when she becomes a lawyer, she wants to dedicate herself to helping women who suffer abuse and injustice. Amparo takes the opportunity to urge her to go study in the States since she already got the scholarship. Gaby understands why Lupita doesn’t want to leave—because of her love for Sebas…whatever decision Lupita makes, Gaby will support her.
Eugenio is home crying and sitting crouched over the urn that holds Karen’s ashes. He remembers when she was born; he wanted to give her only the best and tried to make sure she was happy, but he couldn’t do it, he didn’t know how to help her. He cries as he asks her to forgive him; despite what she did, he will always love her.
The family is still at the table when Leo enters with Chuchita and asks if he can come in. Everyone just about gets whiplash as they turn to see Humberto’s reaction! He stands and tells his son, “Welcome! This has always been your home!” Everyone claps as Humberto and Leo hug. Leo didn’t expect such a welcome. Humberto acknowledges that all these years he belittled Leo’s dreams, but Leo has shown that he did succeed in achieving a goal that he had since he was little. Humberto is very proud of him and asks Leo to forgive him. Leo though, has nothing to forgive (I beg to differ!). He is there because his family has always come first and Chuchita has something very important to tell them. Chuchita stands in front of Leo as she shares that she had always been alone but now she feels she is a part of their family…and the Santos family is about to grow because Leo and she will be parents! Hugs and cheers all around! Chuchita then tells Gaby that someone is waiting for her outside.
Gaby runs out and smiles wide when she sees her pezecito. JP stutters as he tells her he is very happy to see that she is free.
Eugenio lumbers into the company looking sad and torn. After the receptionist gives her condolences, she hands him an envelope that Karen left for him. After he looks at the envelope, he recalls Karen assuring that she would help him make sure Fausto ended up behind bars. Once in his office and having heard Aaron list all the crimes he committed under Fausto’s orders, he buzzes Berenice and tells her to call his lawyers.
SKIPPPED At the restaurant, Humberto gives his thoughts on how love will lead to the road of prosperity. Amparo suggests that from now on, their goal as a family is to be happy. Dani wants to thank God for the privilege of being a part of the family and for letting them be together again. And then while all hold hands, they proudly say the “Santos” mantra.
Outside, Gaby sits in front of him as she tells him she could spend hours looking into his eyes and rediscovering their love. JPooper thinks love is not enough to change reality…his life is different now and maybe they can’t do what they had dreamed . His physical capacity is not the same and she can look for someone else to be happy. Gaby asks who said she could be happy being away from him. While in prison, she found that when she is not with him, she feels lost. She was able to withstand being locked up because she would think of him and know that someday they would be together again. She only wants to be with him; and her love is so pure and sincere, that she wants them to walk together. After he strokes her face, JP smiles; he listens to her and she seems like a different person. Gaby assures she is the same, just more conscientious and mature. And that is why she knows that he is the best man in the world (hmmm…I still have my reservations). She is sure that he will overcome any obstacle; and he’d better not think of leaving her. Ok we got the idea let’s move on…they kiss…
Eugenio has come to the restaurant to share some news that may help them feel better and be more at peace. He tells them about the evidence Karen left him before dying. His attorneys are already working on reporting Fausto and hopes that they can soon have an arrest warrant for him. Dani hopes this nightmare will end so Isa won’t have to get near that man!
Lupita goes to see Sebas and apologizes for not being there all day…she went to welcome Gaby who is now out of prison. She continues talking to him about her plans to defend women in need as Eugenio walks in quietly and comments that Sebas must be very proud of her for wanting to help those most in need, but to do that, she must graduate…accept her scholarship and complete the internship. When Lupita refuses, Eugenio’s tears fall as he asks her to honor Sebas by fulfilling her dreams. Wherever Sebas will be, he will be at her side. Eugenio then asks Lupita to let Sebas go…let him rest. He hugs her as he finishes that the time has come. He will contact the doctor so he can start the preparations.
Dani tucks Isa and Chema in bed as Memo checks on Martin to. Once together, Memo warns that they can’t let their guard down; as long as Fausto is free, they are in danger. After Dani remarks that sooner or later, Fausto will get what he deserves, Memo assures her that he will make sure Fausto will never get close to her or the children. He hugs her tightly as she havens herself in her arms.
Gaby is with JP while he is in rehab. JP tells her that he hasn’t missed a day, yet he can’t take more than a couple of steps without falling down. She reminds him that what matters is not falling, but getting up again. She then guides him as he tries to take some steps…and encourages him as he walks! They kiss in celebration of his success.
Eugenio thanks Amparo for coming. He just lost his daughter and now he has to say goodbye to his son…the pain is killing him! Amparo is so sorry...and can only say that she is there for him. After her tells her that the doctor should arrive soon, she asks if he is sure of his decision. Eugenio doesn’t want to see his son die; part of him tells him to hold on to the hope that Sebas will one day wake up, but the other part tells him that he can’t let Sebas continue suffering, he just wants his son to rest.
In Sebas’s room, Lupita cries as she says her good-bye to Sebas…she will always remember him. She discovered love with him...and he will always be in her heart as the greatest love of her life. She cries as she puts her head on his chest (and I’m shouting NOW! Flinch! Open your eyes! But nopis…ARGHHH!)
In some rinky dink food place, Mac is gambling, holding a hand of 3 tens. He thinks he has a good hand so he bets high. With the money he thinks he’s going to win, he plans to go far away. But he loses (no surprise). Mac gets up and tells himself that he has to find a way not to lose everything; so he has to look to his enemy for help…AMPARO!
Lupita, Gaby and JP gather around Sebas’s bed. JP who is standing sits down by Sebas’s bed telling him that they were always a team. He cries that it will hurt him not being able to see him; they shared so much and he learned so much from him. JP promises that he will always be his legacy. Gaby speaks next—she is truly sorry for what happened; their lives changed. She wishes he could get up and organize one of the parties he liked so much. She thanks him for being such a good friend and for being the prince her sister had always waited for. The girls and JP hug each other as JP shouts “Fly high, bro!”
At the restaurant, all is happiness…for now. Memo tells Isa that he has to go on a job but will be back soon. He walks to his truck and is approached by a (pretentious) repentant Mac who whines that he has lost everything; Yo left him and then he found out Ursula died…and then his “beloved” daughter dies too. After Memo asks what he wants, Mac replies that he wants forgiveness, he wants to ask Amparo to pardon him…because he never valued what he had with them…a real home. That is why he wants to come back to his children, he wants to be close to them, to enjoy them. And to have all that, they need to give him another chance. Memo grabs him and gritting his teeth scowls that Mac has no shame, after all he did, the Calvary he caused for Amparo; he stopped being a part of the family a long time ago! Mac insists that he is regretful and to prove it, he has come to help Memo; he came to tell him where Fausto is hiding.
And there we end...hasta el final del final...tomorrow!
Rgv Chick, as a consummate writer, you relayed tonight’s triumphs and tragedies with clarity and heart. The battering and bruising continued but was unable to dampen or deter your resilience in crafting a beautifully expressed and emotionally impactful summary. You wrote from your mind and heart and your insight and wisdom were evident at every turn.
“Meanwhile, Karen shrieeeeks as she falls and lands on top of a car shattering the windows and rendering her lifeless with her eyes wide open and blood trickling from her mouth!” A fitting end to a heartless harridan whose blood thirst for revenge and cruelty knew no bounds.
Daniela and Memo are finally reunited and she and Memo can begin to form their family. Once Fausto is dead of course which sadly did not occur tonight.
In light of everything that transpired, nothing should surprise but I admit I was floored that Grace died. I kept thinking we would hear or see something, perhaps a surprise return, a letter, a cameo…but death? We had wondered if Grace ever really had a chance, and it seems as though she never did. “Yo’s eyes surprisingly fill with tears as she cries “No puede ser!” (and I'm saying the same thing!)” was exactly right. Yolanda will rue her treatment of her daughter for the rest of her life. How sad that it took her daughter’s death to free her from Macario. Macario shed a few tears but after blaming the victim, coldheartedly immediately moved on
If they had shown just one more shot of a still comatose Sebastian, I swear I was going to scream! Eugenio has just buried one child; would they really take Sebastian as well? There’s been so much emphasis on Lupita leaving to study, I’m starting to wonder.
Leo (whose storyline was pretty much dropped) and Chuchita return to the fold and shared their good news. One happy moment to savor. I feel a bit bitter, errr, better about Gaby and JuanPa but still am not excited.
I didn’t think anything could make me smile but “JPooper” did just that. We needed that!
Thank you for your intriguing, riveting recap Rgv Chick. As Fausto still needs to be dealt with, I am hoping we are able to have more than a moment for the happily ever afters we are all seeking.
Diana
First of all - thank you Rgv Chick. You have really been relaying it all with wit, humor, and some pretty cool phrases all along.
I surely hope as Diana does, that Sebas pulls through.
My own brother was in this state - maybe worse - for 84 days before his fiancé decided to disconnect his life support and it took him 7 more days to actually die.
It was heartbreaking for my family.
I was so relieved that I as his next of kin - I did not have to make the decision. The state gave that power to his girlfriend. It was one of the worst experiences of my life.
Seeing Eugenio struggling with this decision is what I went through too - because depending on the Hospital, they moved my brother 3 times & each time the Power of Attorney went back to me & then it ended in his girlfriend’s hands.
I prayed to not let me make that decision.
So there are a lot of triggers for me in these episodes.
As to Camino - I’m not sure who said that the stories are more of a reflection on world events these days. I totally agree. There is a lot of danger and evil.
It brought me to tears to see Yolanda cry for Grace. It’s true. She did put Mac first and poor Grace did what she could for attention. She learned bad things from her parents.
I’m sad that she died from an overdose, but perhaps she wanted to get away from the feelings of self hatred she might have had since everyone rejected her. Gaby & Lupita did not - but Grace was already doing wrong by them when she sought that job to destroy them. She was fueled by a life of rejection. It’s very sad.
Seeing Karen die — truthfully, did nothing for me. I wished they could have either put her in a pit with Scorpions or some creepy crawly things and watch her realize a slow death was upon her.
Este - might have actually come to her senses with Lupita’s tender heart.
We will see what tmrw will bring.
So glad I found this room.
I am very grateful for you all.
Thank you Rgv chick for another riveting recap! You captured every bit of the suspense, hope and sorrow!!!
I truly hate that they killed Grace off!!! She didn’t deserve to die! I liked the images of the actress smiling in Yo’s mind as a send off though, it was sweet! Still I would have loved to see them give her a clean safe exit. We need more hope and less bleak around here!
Diana put it perfectly, ‘I feel a bit bitter, errr, better about Gaby and JuanPa but still am not excited.’ JP doesn’t deserve Gaby!!!
I still feel like they let Sebas live too long to kill him off now but I wasn’t expecting Grace to die either so…..I hope we get some HAPPY in the HEA tonight!!!
As I said before, Televisa is making a remake of Telemundo's La Patrona (I think it will be called "La Minera").
The protagonist was going to be Ariadne Díaz, but she rejected it last minute, so they're searching for someone else.
The galán is going to be Osvaldo de León and the antagonist is going to be Cynthia Klitbo. (Tbh, I don't think anyone can be better than Christian Bach as Antonia Guerra. Just saying.)
I have mixed feelings about this remake. I'm happy, but I don't really think it's needed. What do you guys say?
Gracias, Top job with all the angst and the relief that the witch is dead.
I guess Grace didn't stand a chance. However, since she didn't leave a note maybe she was overdosed by somebody who knew about the briefcase full of cash. It would be good if the cops found that out although it probably wouldn't make Yolanda feel any better.
It mystifies me that she didn't think better of herself to find a better man.
I don't remember how old JP is supposed to be but he was too out of line with Gaby after the accident for me to feel much good about their reconciliation. Further, if I were Gaby I would feel cheated out of the chance to punch Ursula's lights out.
As for keeping Sebas in a coma for all this time, I don't see this as realistic. There have been cases of people surviving comas after years but not usually without some loss of executive function. Since Sebas is in his 20s he will probably be alright if he wakes up.
Be back after I do the recap for Perdona, which will have a double episode tomorrow night. Yikes.
Thanks, Rgv Chick, you made the retell as exciting as the episode. And I didn’t understand why everyone’s phone started pinging. I didn’t know about the sos thing.
Grace overdosing was a shock. Did they just not know how to tie up that loose end?
I too kept waiting for Sebastian to flicker his eyes or move a finger. I really think he’ll die too. A bit too much. They all said beautiful goodbyes to prepare us. I figure there’s a 5% chance he’ll survive.
Mac is really a coward. He can’t get rid of Fausto or Memo so he’ll set them up to fight it out. He was always better at using the women in his life to get what he wanted.
Montaña, I’m so sorry you had to go through that. I can’t imagine how difficult that would be.
Liz
RGV Chick: Just as I predicted from the get-go. Karen went biddity, bopbidity SPLAT 😎
PS: Monika Sanchez is still sexier & beautiful.
Steve Boudreaux
Montana, my heart goes out to you. What a terrible ordeal you had to endure...I cannot imagine. Bless you. You've already added so much to the discussion.
Whatever happens with Sebastian, I feel the writers have us dangling over a cliff, will he or won't he?
Diana
Jarifa, I agree that they should stop with the remakes. Sometimes, it works out well, but especially for La Patrona, it's unnecessary. It's also only 10 years old.
I got a bit happy because La Patrona was the first telenovela I watched, so nostalgia I guess. But I don't really think it'll work out well.
And you know something's not going well when there are more remakes than original stories.
Dear Chickie, ....uff...thank you...that was....a lot ...a lot. I was spellbound as you carefully reconstructed each chilling turn of events. Love your writing style.
Karen went out in a blaze of crazy as she made her final declaration of bitterness and jealousy to Dani. I thought it was interesting the way the SWAT guys just stood there as the two women faced off. However, they were there to help Memo pull Dani to safety. No matter what bizarre storyline the writers throw at Susana, she is up for the challenge and helps you adjust your wellworn beanie and suspend your disbelief. Thank you, Dani.
In contrast to Karen's speedy exit, we have to witness Seb lying motionless in bed and Lupita in agony at his sidE episode after episode . I am pretty sure that Eugenio is going to go through with removing life support . I will fast forward if they decide to show it.
I think that Grace's death was Yo's anvil . She will suffer for the rest of her life for putting smarmy, callous, amoral tigre Mac in front of loving and caring for her daughter. That is a harsh punishment.
What can I say about JPoop? The writers wanted to ramp up the drama of his sudden turnaround . Whatever. ......Gaby, on the other hand , has become a golden soul.
I liked the strong, unfailing love shown between sisters in this show . We move through life in a caravan , and as we lose people we love along the way due to death, divorce, and distance , sometimes the ones who remain with us are our siblings.
Now, lets see what anvil they give pompous, smirking Fausto. Coyotes?
OT...I saw Gabe in a promo for something called " MI Famous y yo" or something like that.
Good Morning, Patio Peeps!! You all are really so generous and kind; you are the adrenaline of my recapping soul. Thank you for your very astute and sage comments.
Diana, I always look forward to your cleverly written comments, I especially liked "A fitting end to a heartless harridan whose blood thirst for revenge and cruelty knew no bounds." regarding Karen." I so admire your eloquence for writing!
I too was floored with how the writers did away with Grace...not very graceful! I think that Urban's idea of someone causing her overdose would have gone over a bit better for me. I had been hoping that she would somehow be redeemed, but then when I think that she is Mac's spawn and was following in his footsteps, maybe it is better that she be completely gone--no chance for her return to make Gaby's and Lupita's lives miserable. Yes, Susanlynn. I'm sure Grace's death must have been Yo's anvil. I always doubted her love for Grace; too bad it took Grace's death to bring out whatever love she did have for her.
Montana, "Seeing Karen die — truthfully, did nothing for me. I wished they could have either put her in a pit with Scorpions or some creepy crawly things and watch her realize a slow death was upon her." I too would have been more satisfied with a pit of scorpions, snakes or some other creepy crawly things! :-)
Darcy, "I still feel like they let Sebas live too long to kill him off now" I'm at that table too...no way can they kill him off after all the crying and drama...I can hope!
Urban, "I don't remember how old JP is supposed to be but he was too out of line with Gaby after the accident for me to feel much good about their reconciliation." Yeah, it didn't do much for me either. The old, less mature Gaby wouldn't have forgiven him...so easily. She should have given him a bit of his own medicine.
Liz, "Mac is really a coward." A coward, a rat and totally useless! He'll use anyone and anything and live off of them unitl he needs them no more!
Susanlynn, "I am pretty sure that Eugenio is going to go through with removing life support." It sure seems that way, doesn't it? What a horrible predicament to be in that situation. And, "I liked the strong, unfailing love shown between sisters in this show" Thank you for tha astute observation! Seeing Lupita and Gaby support each other unfailingly was a nice change from other TNs where one sister is usually jealous of the other and makes their lives miserable...just watch "Cabo"! I catch the first few minutes and one sister may not loathe the other, but she does ANYTHING, even hurt her own sister, for money.
Montana, I am so sorry for the loss of your brother. I cannot imagine how hard it was for you just to think of having to make that decision. {{HUGS}}
Weirdo, thanks for your post. I did read about the remake of "La Patrona". I didn't watch the one on Telemundo, so I might watch this one.
Also, for those of you who commented on Karla Esquivel's (Gaby) exceptional performance and thought she deserved a future protagonist role--you got your wish!! She will be joining Brandon Peniche in a TN being directed by Ignacio Saga, tentative title is Nadie Como Tu
#25 will be a little later than usual due to playback issues.
A major issue with this story is the number of different lies about the same thing being told to different people while others are kept fully in the dark. This is why catching the dialogue is so important.
I am dreading tomorrow's double header.
RGVChick, I really liked the Telemundo version. I think the cast was perfect, especially Christian Bach as Antonia Guerra. Nobody can be better than her in that role. Aracely Arámbula was the protagonist and Jorge Luis Pila the galán.
I guess I'll check out the first episode, but I don't think the Telemundo version can be beaten.
Urban, you are playing my song! That is similar to “Vencer la ausencia.” You never knew who was being told what when and how much they were being told or even it was the same thing. Double episode? Bummer! I do not even like watching double episodes!
The comments today were so wise and insightful.
"Este - might have actually come to her senses with Lupita’s tender heart" was lovely Montana. I'm sure this will be followed up on tonight.
Darcy, "We need more hope and less bleak". YES!! Hopefully, tonight will deliver a healthy dose of happiness.
Urban, Yolanda staying with Macario all this time is unfathomable. But so was the fact Amparo stayed married to him all those years. His smarmy charm completely eluded me. But as you noted Liz he did have one "talent" - "he was always better at using the women in his life to get what he wanted".
"I too was floored with how the writers did away with Grace...not very graceful!" Excellent point Rgv Chick, and I'm still sort of in shock.
"What can I say about JPoop? The writers wanted to ramp up the drama of his sudden turnaround . Whatever. ......Gaby, on the other hand , has become a golden soul". Laughed at the first part Susanlynn and totally agree on the second.
Only a few more hours and then we should have our answers.
Diana
Mac needs his Karma anvil too like PRISON.
Jarifa: Busted out laughing watching Karen's fall: She went bippidity, bobipidity SPLAT!
Weirdo: Telemundo will likely NEVER be beaten anytime soon.
why oh why did they kill off Grace? It's really such a tragedy. Also, what happened to Monica? I don't get this plot line. Leo saying he had nothing to forgive was also unfair.
Gracias, Rgv Chick. As always, I'm totally captivated while reading your recap. Excellent coverage of Karen's Last Stand. Everything has been so grim, so I look for the light. I loved "Everyone just about gets whiplash as they turn to see Humberto’s reaction!" and "JPooper".
I thought we'd get to see a makeover for Grace. She never killed anyone, so I figured she'd find redemption or at least success at something other than stealing.
Oh well, Gaby is happy with JP so I accept it. JP is handsome without a doubt, but now I see flaws in his pretty face, which means I no longer like him.
Montana, I'm sorry about your brother. My heart goes out to you.
Waterlily, we haven't seen Monica lately...Leo's storyline just sort of dropped to make way for others. Maybe we will see something tonight.
Niecie, "I figured she'd find redemption or at least success at something other than stealing" would have been a better ending than what poor Grace got. I hope there aren't any further bad surprises in store tonight...

Part 1 of 4
The younger kids asked their father for permission for something and he refused. All three got into it and Armando kept saying not. Elena scolded her younger siblings, then Armando slumped forward. Gerardo ran to him and sent Elena for his medical bag. He made Armando take a pill and had her call for an ambulance. Irene arrived during this. Gerardo told her Armando was having a heart attack.
Silvia went to Angela to tell her that Lamberto was giving his surname to Andres. Angela was her usual nasty self about class she herself doesn't have, saying that Andres would never be worthy of the name Montero.
Elena went into the ambulance to accompany her father to the hospital. Irene did her best to calm down the children. Padre Reynaldo arrived.
Elsa unpacked her suitcase and Nora admired her clothes. Elsa gave her the dress she admired most. Nora asked her about Andres. Nora asked about the father of her baby. Elsa described Andres and told her everything including that he was happy at the news and would be a great father. She described her father's reaction, his concern about “what people would say.” Nora said that a love as great as Elsa's and Andres' should not be an “amor prohibido. Elsa asked Nora if she had an amor prohibido and she said “Yes, but it's not about social class. We'll talk about that another time” and thanked her for the dress.
Andres sat on the floor of his cell and thought about Elsa, flashing back to an afternoon at the lake and another occasion when he fell into it. He pulled her in after him and they kissed. He then began to cry.
Carlos ran into an old classmate – Mariel – at the pool. She was still single and worked in the travel industry. Aurora heard, then saw them talking, assumed she was an old girlfriend, and the green-eyed monster in her woke up. Especially when he mentioned that his father might want to see her.
Elsa and Flor talked sotto voce in the dining room. Flor described how the younger servants secretly make fun of strict and demanding Clemencia for marrying a man so much younger than herself and he barely had a centavo to his name when they married. Flor found out that Armando had been supporting Clemencia for years. [Why? So she could run a penal colony for him?] The ranch had not been making any money.
Irene went back to the hotel. She told Estela about Armando's heart attack and everything else she found out. Estela was surprised, as Armando had never had heart issues before this. Irene told her that everything possible is being done for him, but Estela was far more concerned about her children being alone. Irene told her that the padre was there at the moment and she would do what she could.
The younger kids speculated on what could happen. They feared ending up in foster care if Estela didn't come home.

Part 2 of 4
Silvia and Lamberto talked about Angela and Andres. Angela showed up and there was the usual rudeness toward Silvia who protested that she does honorable work. Angela went on talking about Andres leaving the world through a gunshot as though he were a criminal. Amberto ordered her to leave. Angela accused Silvia of coming to her house to provoke her, bravery only because she had Lamberto's help, etc. [This is nauseating.] Finally she left, saying “I have your son in my hands” [Real cowardice is exiting on a line like that.]
Fuentes left a message for Silvia at the hotel.
Although Mariel intended to keep her current job, Aurora got up and went inside. Aurora argued with Carlos about Mariel. He protested that she was only a friend and she accused him of flirting with her. He told Aurora that he loved her and only wanted to be with her. She said he ruined the whole day. [She's now as bad as her mother.]
Elsa thought of the last conversation with Andres in the confessional booth.
Armando woke up in the hospital in Alcocere. The nurse got his cell phone for him and he tried to call Leonidas. Meanwhile in the corridor Elena was almost panicking, saying she could not live without him. Gerardo tried to reassure her that everything was being done that was needed to be done. She had to wait for test results.
Padre Reynaldo talked with Irene who said she was doing whatever she could to find Estela. The padre had been at the Quiroga house the day before when Armendo didn't look as ill as this implied. When they arrived in the same room as Elena and Gerardo. Elena was saying that she (Irene) was doing nothing for her father and should not be told anything. She accused Irene of lying the night before about her accommodations. Irene confronted her saying Hector is her friend. “Then why did you hide that?” Irene gave it back again about “What are you trying to hide? What would your mother think to hear you talking to me like that?” “My mother isn't here and as long as she isn't I will make the decisions. It would be better if you left.” [Incredible.] Leonidas arrived just as Irene made a graceful exit. Gerardo questioned his presence, as he was a psychiatrist and not a cardiologist. “Since he called me I will take charge of him.” The nurse came out to tell the padre that Armando wanted to see him.
Montage of Martin and Sofie searching for news of their mother.
Armando talked about his will with the padre. “We have an agreement.” If anything were to happen to himself the padre was to follow through about Elsa's baby. The padre told him he should concentrate on getting better. Armando tried to dismiss this as nothing but the padre said he had gotten to the house just as the ambulance arrived; that can't be trivial. He had come over to tell him he found a housekeeper for him. Elena and Gerardo entered. Armando told Elena he had only been dizzy. Gerardo corrected him, saying he had a heart attack and the cardiologist wanted to examine him. Armando objected, calling all doctors alarmists, including him. Gerardo tried to make him see reason but Armando wold not listen. Padre Reynaldo took his leave and Gerardo followed him out. They talked about how stubborn Armando was and Gerardo told the padre that this was actually quite serious. Elena came out of her father's room, saying he wanted to be alone.

Part 3 of 4
Angela showed up. Elena fled. Angela insisted upon seeing Armando but although he tried Gerardo could not prevent her entering Armando's room.
Hector made some arrangements when Meche came in telling him she decided to become a teacher. Irene came in to give him the news about Armando. Meche commented about so many horrible things happening to that family, then said she would call Elena to offer to help with the children.
Armando tried to dismiss his diagnosis, but Angela wasn't buying it. He wouldn't be in a hospital if it weren't serious. He said he felt fine but she could see he didn't look it. She said she needed him healthy. Angela – selfish nympho that she is – could only think about sex. She kissed his lips, but he did not kiss back.
Irene told Hector about her visit to the police. At least they would now be looking for Estela. She is also concerned about Elena running the household. She was willing to help with the children but Elena was running her off. Armando gave her all the power in the household.
Antonia and Silvia waited for Fuentes who called them to come by the station to say goodbye to Andres.
Martin and Sofie had no luck and came home to no news of their father either. He and Sofie planned on seeing the police the next day.
Ivan did not want Nora to be near the other guys. [Red flag alert; this storyline is already too cringeworthy.]
Antonia and Silvia were let into Andres' cell. They told him he was going to be transferred. He said he was innocent and that Angela bribed her way to this. Silvia slipped a gold cross into his hand and he was dragged out kicking and protesting just as Lamberto arrived. On the steps Silvia asked whether this could be delayed a day so she could bring Andres clothes and a blanket. He told her that he would be issued a blanket and a uniform. She could bring him things on visiting day.
Lamberto arrived and said Andres should be allowed to see his lawyer. Fuentes said this was by a judge's order. A uniformed cop would not allow anyone near Andres. Fuentes allowed Silvia to embrace her son, who told her not to cry. When Fuentes said “This is enough” and Silvia stepped away Andres accused him of corruption. Fuentes merely told the cops to take him away. Lamberto said they will prove Andres' innocence. Fuentes said “Do what you have to. I'm just doing my job.”
Elsa asked Nora if any of the guys is her novio. Nora said “Later.”
Carlos and Aurora went outside for lunch and Mariel showed up. Aurora got annoyed at Carlos inviting her to join them.

Part 4 of 4
Lamberto called his lawyer who had not been informed that Andres would be transferred. She told him that she will be going over the statements of Angela and Aurora. She was also going to look into getting Angela's medical records. She wanted that this could be a long process.
Renzo went to work without knowing what was going on. He called Armando's cell but got no answer. Angela was not there either so something must have happened.
Aurora was angry that Mariel was crashing her honeymoon. She accused Carlos of preferring Mariel to her. He said he was trying to get a 3-way conversation going but she didn't leave an opportunity for that. They argued more and she stormed out.
Nora saw that Elsa was worried about Andres. Elsa told her some more and then Nora said “Your father is like a devil.” She invited Elsa to a public party in the nearest town but Elsa was not up to it. Nora than said she would stay home with her.
Andres was taken to the prison where he got the usual hazing welcome.
The more I hear the classist nonsense coming out of Angela's mouth the more I wonder how many guys she boinked before marrying Lamberto. I strongly doubt that she was To the Manor Born.
Nora is blowing my mind. I hope she can escape to a place where she can become more than Clemencia wants to make of her.
Carlos and Gerardo need to compare notes.
We need to hear more about Guillermina.
Clemencia so far is a female Jekyll and Hyde. The nightmare is just getting under way.
Urban, thank you for the fantastic recap.
“Angela – selfish nympho that she is…” had me smiling away. I also enjoyed “Angela was her usual nasty self about class she herself doesn't have…”, among others.
Aurora is selfish, self-centered, unempathetic and much more. But I can’t believe she will keep silent now that Andres has been transferred. She doesn’t want Carlos but doesn’t want anyone else to either; although I suspect some of this might be for show so she can pull it out of her pity pocket at a later date.
“Elena was almost panicking, saying she could not live without him…” Again?? Her new mantra.
At least Estela is still safe. That said, it is of little consolation with Armando likely to make a miraculous recovery and out of the hospital within 24 hours.
I like how Irene stands up to Elena.
“Ivan did not want Nora to be near the other guys. [Red flag alert; this storyline is already too cringeworthy.]” you echoed exactly what I was thinking. Ack.
The poor kids thinking they’d go into foster care if their mother didn’t come home. Says a lot about how safe and secure they feel with their father.
Diana
Thanks, Urban. All the details I needed.
I predict Armando's next heart attack will take place in Angela's bed. She can't leave him alone for a second.
Elena had so much guff for Irene, but when Angela shows up at the hospital Elena is silent.
Boohoo, Aurora is upset that Carlos has a life outside of spoiling her. She didn't even try to be gracious to his friend.
Thanks so much Urban. You’re carrying a heavy load with this telenovela, and double duty tomorrow!
I think Andres’ imprisonment is going to be hard on him. The other men seemed to be hardened criminals.
Poor Carlos. He and Gerardo will both be regretting their marriages. They did not choose wisely. How silly of Aurora to get so jealous instead of trying to be friendly.
And Elena is really rude to Irene. I don’t really remember how she treated her mother but I bet she wasn’t nice to her either. Only Daddy brings out her nurturing.
So Armando is in the hospital after a heart attack and his prime concern is that Padre make sure he gets the baby far away from Elsa!
Ángela insisting on seeing Armando should make her son realize they are an item.
Thanks for the news about the ranch. So Armando is supporting them. That surprises me. I wonder what the story behind that is. I wonder when Elsa will discover who Nora loves.
Guess we’ll have a lot going on Friday-two hours worth!
Liz
Urban, I've tried twice to post my comment but was unsuccessful.
I will ask Rgv Chick to fish it out when she has a moment.
This was excellent!
Diana
Thanks, Urban.
Niecie, "I predict Armando's next heart attack will take place in Angela's bed. She can't leave him alone for a second." If, only!!!!
Liz, "So Armando is in the hospital after a heart attack and his prime concern is that Padre make sure he gets the baby far away from Elsa! " That was unbelievable.
Weak: Silvia going to see Angela to inform her of the possible name change.
Interesting: After dealing with snotty Elena, Auntie Irene tells her she has always been that way. So, Elena has always been a brat.
Question: Is Aurora really jealous or just angry that she is stuck with Carlos and is taking her bad decision to marry him out on him ?
Less than two hours to show time!!!
Jarifa, "Is Aurora really jealous or just angry that she is stuck with Carlos and is taking her bad decision to marry him out on him ?"
The latter...I don't think she is jealous in the least, she is just annoyed not being the center of attention...
Diana
Jarifa: Wake me up when Bratty Elena gets her KARMA ANVIL. Until then, I'll wait for the Body Count to escalate.
Rgv Chick, thank you for restoring my missing comment from this afternoon.
You are the best!
Diana
I agree with so many of your comments so far.
Elena has always been a brat. That was somebody's rookie mistake. A child becomes demanding when the parent(s) aren't paying attention to him/her, then parents pay attention to make child shut up and that becomes a pattern over time. Elena is at least 4 years older than Elsa and that must have gotten worse after she was born.
Is Aurora really jealous or just angry that she is stuck with Carlos and is taking her bad decision to marry him out on him? I agree with Diana. Just like that nasty mother of hers.
Silvia going to tell Angela about Andres' name change was not well thought-out. Angela can't do anything about it from a legal perspective but it could -- and likely has -- ramped up her hatred. I'd love to know what skeletons are in Angela's closet.
Why does Clemencia hate Estela? Was she lusting after Armando back in the day?
