Guerrero Capítulo 8O - Part 1 of 3

Jesús stands slack-jawed - observing Patriluz in a lip lock. Mari, still not understanding that guys really can be honest/faithful/trustworthy, says she’s not feeling it. Our newly crowned King of Wishful Thinking says he felt a dash of hope in the kiss. He reminds her of their function with Villalba the next day and leaves. Conchita, who’s also been watching, wants all the details on her new beau. Jesús can’t believe she could love somebody else.

Emma continues her verbal assault on the elderly (Bri), but it all falls on deaf ears. Bri looks like she’s seriously considering how much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood! Bri can no longer be bothered (by the truth) and leaves.

Augi is meeting with Patricio atop his high horse - threatening to expose a fraudster for the scandal. He’s in full victim/politician mode, but Patricio doesn’t believe him. Why? Bam! He pulls up the photos of Augi & Bri kissing.

Emma is on social media (live) atop her high horse going on about marriage and fidelity. Ugh.

Augi’s lies in the next scene are astounding. He tells Patricio that his affair with Bri started after they’d broken up!. He tells Patricio that she seduced him!! He tells Patricio that he’s a human being!!! He’s sure a rival put her up to this. He tells Patricio he’s paying for his mistakes; his wife wants a divorce. He assures Patricio that he will clear things up.

Doménica (still missing ¼ of her shirt) explains to Emma that she needn’t worry about grown folks’ business (infidelity, divorce, reconciliation) and concentrate on herself. [Note: this was clumsily set up in yesterday’s episode: Emma heard the mechanics in the garage teasing Damián about the new painter in his life).] Now she tells Domis who reacts by saying she made the right decision in dumping him. Dom cries later.

Bri stalks Augusto at the political party office. He says they cannot be seen there. She reminds him that she recommended him to Patricio, and she won’t be treated like trash. She threatens to tell Patricio the WHOLE truth, and then flips and says she wants nobody else by her side but Augi. He puts on his elder abuse gloves and shakes her. He wants her out of his life. He won’t risk his political career for an arrogant woman like her. GET OUT & LEAVE ME ALONE. You can tell he’s serious because he tells a new crony (not Fede, Saúl, or Jesús) to take care of her No Witness style.

Doménica and Sam are in the garage. She’s not looking for Damián, and she’s not going to forgive him. She’s looking for Sam. She loves Sam. She wants a chance. He can’t. Damián loves her and will be hurt. She can’t trust Damián; she trusts Sam. He would never lie to her. “Kiss me,” she says. Sam says if he kisses her he will never let her go. They both go for the kiss…

DIRTY DOGS!!! They tricked me. It was a dream sequence. Sam wakes up and goes to check on Damián. He’s finishing his masterpiece, Doménica in a Hot Tub on Mars. Sam (voiceover) says he has to leave. He can’t stay. He’ll go with Bri. Far. Very far.
 

Guerrero Capítulo 8O - Part 2 of 3

Lupe and Vic have finished the bottle of booze they started yesterday. Vic slurs, “Did I tell you I was cheated on? You don’t know how much I cried. I deserve someone who keeps me in mind, appreciates me, lets me make decisions on my own….That doesn’t keep me like house furnishings except not like yours which are very ugly!” Lupe, drunk too, takes it all in stride. Next they are tuteando on the same love seat. Vic declares they are friends! Lupe says she always thought Vic lived a charmed and happy life in her palace with her little princesses. Vic says her marriage never worked. She kept it together afraid of what people would say. She never wanted to be divorced, and she loved Augi! She still does and Lupe should understand. Why? Per Vic, Lupe still loves him too!

Augi sits down for dinner at home with his daughters with a big glass of wine (despite the fact that Emma just came back from Beatriz Ford). Emma lectures him about consequences. Doménica gives him the cold (bare) shoulder and skips din din. What is Augi doing home? Didn’t he hear the messages about Vic squatting?!!

Bri is packing a suitcase when someone comes a-knocking. It’s Sam I am (“¡El Samuel soy yo!”). He’s there to tell her he will join her on her trip! They hug and kiss. NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

“Frida” turns in her painting in a wild getup. I’m surprised she didn’t perform Fleetwood Mac’s “Gypsy” next. She certainly dressed for it. Diego/Damián was waiting for her and strikes up a conversation. They have a cute chat which Doménica overhears. They talk innocently about their attraction. Viewerville knows it’s familial, but Domis thinks the worst.

He invites her for a drink (tea/beer). He wants to know her better. Colmo. Doménica stomps away, and it made me laugh because neither mother nor son turned to see who was making all that noise. The clever writers have Damián asking what’s the problem. Is it that he could be her son? Hardy har har. She says she doesn’t drink beer with students. He reminds her that he offers tea as well. She shoots him down. Key words: “this time.”

Conchita wants to know from Mari what’s the hold-up with Patty-Cake! He’s all that (I paraphrase). Mark says she doesn’t love him and Conchita should know why. Uh oh. It’s the J-word. Conchifa forbids that word be spoken in the house. She prays and asks for forgiveness from the other Jesùs. LOL

Jesús arrives at home and finds Carloca completely zonked out. He takes his laptop out and hits RE3NCUENTROS.

Mari vows not to speak to Mr. Unmentionable. They go ear hustle on Vic & Lupe, but what they hear sounds like the adults on Peanuts. Nothing is being broken so that’s a good sign.

Vic & Lupe are drunkenly commiserating about “Algusto.” LOL. Lupe lists a string of adjectives to describe him. None are nice. Vic says she knows why Lupe is so upset with him. They had much more than a little romance and Lupe knows it. Vic knows the truth! What Lupe and Augi had was FOR LIFE! …and it has a name. It’s name is…

Just then Augi comes a-knocking. Vic yells, “We’re not here!” LOL. Lupe wants to confront him and stumbles to the door. He asks to speak to Victoriana alone. Lupe and Vic are hugging each other on the love seat (priceless). Lupe tries to leave, and Vic tells her “sister, mamacita, friend” to STAY! Anything he has to say to Vic he can say to BOTH. He wants her to go home; she’s going nowhere. Like typical drunks, Lupe repeats everything Vic says for emphasis. They laugh at their own jokes and then inform him that THEY want a divorce.

Jesús reaches into a duffel bag and retrieves a few items (not shown on camera). He sends a message on RE3NCUENTROS. Catfish season is OPEN! Mari is excited. Lisardo has fixed his camera. She’s finally going to see him.

On camera, Lisardo is sporting some funky dreads, John Lennon sunglasses, and a beard that would make ZZ Top proud. She is shocked but tries to stay polite. She says he reminds her of someone else! Is he…

Vic goes on a long “how could you do this?” tirade to Augi’s face! She’s always known he had affairs, but now it’s public record. The whole world knows. She wants him out of “our house (LOL),” and he shan’t return unless he’s delivering the signed divorce papers.

Doménica is in her room. She takes all Damián’s sketches and throws them out the window. Litterbug! She flops on the bed and sulks.

Sam and Bri are in bed. Boo! She wants to know if he’s been to the Caribbean. Europe. He tells her she can stop naming places because he’s only been to Tata’s. Has she ever been to Bautista’s Ranch. She’s still selling her Travel with a Ho program. He wants to know if it’s expensive. She tells him not to worry. He is all she has left, and she’ll make him forget about Dom and that other savage (Selena). He still wants to take his own money. She’s happy. He’s happy.

Lisardo & Mariluz chat. It’s creepy. He lies about why he’s so far away (“work”) and wants to know if she’s single, married, separated, with kids, etc. She says she’s in love, but he’s no longer with her. She calls out the relieved look on his face. He says it’s a sign.

Valero & Sam (YAY!) are visiting Palazzo at the wrestling joint. Palazzo wants to know if he’s ready for his next fight. They tell him it will be Sam’s last fight as he’s about to take a trip. Palazzo says for a moneymaking goodbye fight, he’ll have to think of something to bring the crowds. What if Sam wrestles the champion? Valero is dead set against this. Sam wants to wrestle and win so he can pay his way with Bri. Palazzo says they have a fight…against the champion’s champion: Mamút Gonzales.

Mari & Lisardo are chatting away when he slips and tells her to “trust Jesús.” She says, “What did you say?” and he blasphemes/lies that he was talking about the Lord. He has a new pet name for her: “Mi Luz.” Now he says he’s a missionary and travels the world doing God’s work. Carloca is stirring. He says he needs to go as it’s almost 5 in the morning in France. She sends him a kiss and they sign off without incident.

I wish I could post pictures because his “Lisardo” costume is comedy gold!!! Carloca wakes up and screams when she sees it. When she realizes it’s him, she wants to know why he’s disguised and with whom was he talking.

Help! Blogger ate Part 3!
 

Wow O.S.! You are working Overtime this week!!! Thank you so much for doing all the heavy lifting this week!!! I am at the airport now headed home. I did get to watch a little bit yesterday but it wasn’t the whole episode. I will definitely catch up today when I get home.

What I saw was enough to know that my suspicion was right and Vicky and Loopy were hilarious as ‘amigas’ I bet that friendship ends with the hangover but the ‘we want a divorce’ and get out of our house were too funny!!!

I actually don’t like the whole Emma yelling at Bri thing, or the blaming of the other woman and saying SHE ruined their family. I absolutely believe all people should stay away from all married people (unless it’s the person you are married to) but at the end of the day it’s Augi that had a commitment to their family and it’s Augi who violated that commitment. He ‘ruined’ their family not Bri. I feel the same way when they say the messenger is breaking up the family when they tell the husband/wife about the affair. It’s ridiculous to me, the responsibility lies with the person who committed the betrayal not someone else they deflect it on to.

I can just picture Sam asking if Bri had been to Bautista’s ranch and it cracks me up! But I DO NOT want him traveling with Brianna!!!!

As for Jesus and Mari you said it perfectly!! Yuck!! Gas lighting season - so funny and sadly accurate!
 

Guerrero. Another superb, snarky and occasionally hilarious recap, O.S.! We are now 2/3s through with this novela. "still not understanding that guys can be honest/faithful/trustworthy"--Love it! Also "king of wishful thinking." Yep, Augi is incredibly full of chutzpah in his conversation with Patricio. Hmm. I wonder if Augi will manage to do Bri in. I guess that would cancel Sam's world tour. I think the drunk scene with Vic and Lupe is kind of ridiculous but occasionally very funny. The comment from Damian that he could be Elisa's son is what is called dramatic irony. Viewerville knows he's her son. Jesus's disguise is hilariously stupid. And he says he's a missionary? This Lisardo is obviously not Mari's type. Oh oh! Sam will be wrestling above his ability! That's a recipe for something terrible to happen. But what if he wins?

How am I supposed to want Mari and Jesus to end up together when we have Patriluz? It's funny that since I don't like this pairing, Jesus' behaviour pisses me off even more. The weiters shouldn't have given us such a good secondary galan if they wanted the viewers to even care about...what is the name of that other pairing?Jeluz? And what's going on with Sam and Briana?Someone should have reviewed the scenario before they started filming because this part is stupid.
I would have respected Briana more (I can't believe I'm saying this because she is annoying) if she hadn't started going on about how she wanted no one else by her side. Woman, do whatever you want, but never ever beg.
O.S. thanks for translating drunk MD's speech because I was wondering what she was saying at one point.
Does anyone know what song plays when Sam is thinking about Domenica? Also, what is the songj that plays when Lupe and Vic talk about Augusto and Lupe's romance? I couldn't find either.

Jesús explains his costume to Carloca as s way of helping her dad(!).

Fede realizes the cold, hard truth. Even If he sells his Liberace jewelry collection, he’s still screwed. Then he realizes he has Iker’s cell phone.

Jesús LIES - telling Carloca he’s wearing the dreadlocks to investigate fraud for Augi. Master stroke: he tells Carloca if Augi’s nephew Fede could betray him, anyone could; hence the drastic measures.

Odd editing: Fede comes across a security guard negotiating with two men. He hides.

Carloca tries her damndest to seduce Jesús, but he masterfully plays the OBGYN card: no intimacy for the baby’s sake. Jesus agrees to spoon.

Hangover Time: Vic is cruda and back to her old self: formal and expecting to be waited on hand and foot. She wants her Tina. Nobody knows that that is. She wants to know if Augi came over last night. She’s confused. He did. They ran him off (how quickly we forget).

Patricio is coaching Augi that if he wants to be the next candidate, his impending divorce cannot come up. Augi assured him everything is under control. Awkward: Villalba and Mariluz join the gathering. Villalba & Patricio sing Mari’s praises.

Vic & Conchita square off over morning coffee.

PSA: Emma, Doménica. Adrián, Gus, et. al, are picking up trash to save the planet.

Vic, en route to bathe, reveals that she (herself) stinks, something cooking on the stove stinks, she can’t imagine how funky the bathroom will be. She decides not risk fungus/Athletes’ Foot and just douse herself with perfume. She also has to pee. LOL

Carloca comes by for a visit. Lupe tells her “Vicky” is bathing (despite the lack of “tina”). Carloca will wait. Lupe has to work @ the Pozolería and takes leave. Carloca snoops around and finds Mari’s laptop. She’s about to open it when Conchifa shuts her down. She seizes the laptop and declares Carloca is just bad as her “mother.’

Mari tells Patty Cake she’s surprised Augi is down with the project. Patricio would like to know more about her employment with Augi, specifically why she quit. Flashback to Carloca’s antics. Mari’d rather not talk about it.

Carloca is raring to celebrate the impending divorce with Vic. She’s brought a bottle of Augii’s finest champagne and real glasses since poor folks probably just have plastic. After all the years Vic spent trying to get rid of Carloca, now it will be Vic’s turn to vacate. She pours 2 glasses to toast. Vic knocks a glass out of Carloca’s hand. The former responds it only took 1 night for Vic to get naca. In the meantime, per Carloca, it won’t take Augi long (approx. 5 minutes) to find Vic’s replacement.

Lupe and Conchita have a discussion. PSA: Sometimes money buys you everything and nothing. Conchita says it even better: Vic never knew how to build or value anything.

Adrián is impressed by Emma’s turnout and attitude. Emma says she has to respect her parents’ decision one way another.

Augi wants Vic to (1) forget about Bri, (2) pack her suitcases, and (3) come on back home.
1. Vic doesn’t pack suitcases.
2. Obedient Vic is GONE, and she’s not moving until he returns her inheritance and everything that belongs to her.
3. She is going to fight like crazy to regain every cent her father left her and won’t rest until Augi is left in the streets!

Augi points out the only thing she has (in her name) is Lupe’s house. Her father gave him power of attorney because he didn’t trust her. He knew she wasn’t capable of anything(!) so Augi managed the money, made investments, and now everything is in his name. Now her fortune is protected because in her hands, nothing would be left. She can have her own account in her name “for about 1O mil” if she stops the madness, returns home on his side like his beloved and dedicated wife. The offer is limited time only. She has until the morning. $1OM or she moves to Lupe’s house indefinitely and lives off charity. He blows her a kiss and leaves.

Belén & Sergio welcome Emma & Adrian to their humble abode. Sergio feels they deserve more; Belén is proud of their home and freedom. Oracle Emma says they may not have much, but they have each other - as opposed to her house which has everything except unity. Belén says they are always welcome. Oops. They have no water. Whomp. Whomp.

Guadaloops is thinking about Augi. If Vic suffers so much, imagine how it would have been for her (excellent point). She’s lucky she got far away from him. They may not have much, but they have love. Ok. Why do the writers insist on assaulting those poor dead horses?!! Conchita insists Lupe may still find happiness with Villalba. Eek! Villalba is working out with a completely unbuttoned shirt. We get belly button and ~49 meandering words. Lupe knows he’s crazy about her, but she feels nothing for him…
A ha! It’s a vicious cycle. Here Las García (2nd & 3rd generation) have decent men with good intentions, and they simply cannot be bothered.

Carloca tells Augi he cannot get divorced as the scandal would rock his candidacy. Jesús walks in unnoticed and eavesdrops. Carloca wonders who uploaded the photos. Augi says the uploader will be sorry. dun. Dun. DUN.
 

Guerrero Capítulo 81 - Part 3 of 3

Los Guerrero are having a summit at the garage. Vic wants a D-I-V-O-R-C-E. Augi is furious and wants to know who uploaded the photos. Everything (plan) is coming up roses. Damián suggest they slow it down for safety reasons. Samu announces he’s going to travel with an old goat.

Augi asks Saúl when it’s going to happen. Saúl says “Tomorrow. She’s leaving for a trip and we have the taxi that’s picking her up.”

Samu says he’s sure he wants to leave…not for Dom but to be happy. What about school? Jesús has found the perfect place for him to learn. Samu says Bri says he can learn a lot from traveling. Valero offers to take him to multiple places where he can learn multiple things. Jesus says fine. NO! If he wants to travel, he should travel. NO! They won’t be mad: he has their full support. NO! If that’s what his heart needs to heal, he should do it. NO! They’ll be waiting for him. NO!

Adrián & Emma are outdoors when some ne’er-do-well drives by on a moped(!) and snatches Emma’s phone. Oracle Emma preaches that the streets just aren’t safe anymore.

Sam & Valero (YAY!) are training for the big bout with Mamút. Hilarity ensues. Adrián comes in with a flyer and invites them to the wrestling matches. Valero says they aren’t interested in such things and have too much work (LOL). Moreover, Adrian should be studying and not going out. Adrián is hyped for the death match! Neither Capt. Justicia or Sam (LOL) stand a chance against Mamút. One previous opponent was taken from a fight via ambulance. Mamút crushes. Valero points out that Capt. Justicia beat Crazy Tarzan. Adrian says that was child’s play. This will be a massacre.

Fede is drinking/drunk in Selena’s studio when she arrives. She has no news. He threatens her and her brother (Abraham) again. She tells him Sam is now with Bri. He wants her to find out everything about that relationship. His anvil sure is taking its sweet time.

At the wrestling arena, Valero is adjusting Captain Justicia’s cape. He tells CJ to give his all. If anything happens to CJ, his brothers and Mica will kill Valero - LOL). Sam is confident. Valero says he feels like Piojo Herrera. This is a real person (manager, head coach) and the best nickname we’ve heard since Peste. Oh no. Valero’s pep talk is not a good omen. He wants him to win and have that money for his travels. He is the best person Valero knows. He’s proud to be his fried and coach. Valero cries (but blames the dust. LOL). They hug.

Valero allows a couple of fans to take a picture with CJ for free (Palazzo would have charged them). Palazzo comes in next followed by Selena. Next comes Bri! She tells Selena that Sam is going with her. She won!

Damián comes to Doménica’s window and says they need to talk. She doesn’t want to. He’s found her litter (his drawings she threw out yesterday). He understands she’s upset but they can’t go on like this (weren’t they on a break?). She throws Frida in his face. She’s jealous. He’s intrigued she followed him. She’s catty about the looks they exchanged and tells him to deny it. She runs him off. He asks her to take care of the litter because he made those drawings with lots of love.

Jesús is talking in his sleep. Mariluz sits up in her bed. Carloca is responding to his sleep talk clearly not listening closely. He says, “Don’t leave me, Mariluz.” She smacks him with a pillow and wakes him up. He has no idea what’s wrong with her.

Drunk Fede has Augi’s briefcase (from the raid earlier this season). He’s obsessively trying to open it.

The announcer introduces both wrestlers. Mamùt enters the ring with some pretty flashy gymnastics. Selena is worried about the death match. Valero is worried about Los Guerrero. CJ gets his licks in first and then gets beat down. While he’s on his back he sees Doménica urging him to get up. He does and starts to open a can of whoop ass on Mamút.

Thank you O.S. for another fabulous recap!!! You outdid yourself this week and I so appreciate it!!! :) I am back now and will go back to the recapping schedule. I can still only commit to full recaps on Mon/Tues but now that Camino is over I have more time and can make more lengthy comments/mini-caps on Weds/Thurs to contribute to the discussion. Thank you again for stepping in so completely this week and keeping the discussion flowing with humor, wit, and all the WTH moments!

I knew the Loopy/Vicky friendship couldn't last but they were fun together. Or maybe it's just nice to see something different because as you pointed out our writers do like dead horses around here. All novelas suffer from the 'repeat yourself-itis' but this one is over the top.

I don't want Sam to get hurt ever but it did occur to me when Adrian was hyping it up that if Sam had to go to the hospital he would be saved from leaving with Briana. If Augi plans to get Bri in a taxi and Sam is planning to also be in that taxi I'm worried. I suppose I should be worried about Bri too and hoping Sam can rescue her from Augi's thugs but I don't care about Bri and I want Sam safe - plus safely away from Briana.

Speaking of, it's creepy how Selena is at the mercy of Fede 24/7. I don't like that. Augi should take Fede back, they deserve each other.

It's a bad sign that Jesus comes up with convincing lies so easily. Let's go back to the what happened in Jesus's past he never talks about and why does he seem to know everyone (ie. bomb squad guys) and abandon completely the tired 'Mariluz don't leave me' angle!!!! I want to know if Jesus has a shady past, or maybe he just grew up to be a cop and that's how he knows as much as he knows about Augi and now he took advantage of finally finding his brother to go undercover and bring that bastard down!!! LOL So he has excuses and back stories at the ready?? probably not, but that would be more interesting than the next star crossed lover angst moment the writers likely have cued up!

Will Vic go home for $10M? I am not rooting for her because she's awful so I don't care, but if I was rooting for her I'd say to do it! Augi is not likely to live through the next 40 episodes so if she 'stands by her man' for a few more months and becomes his widow, she can re-inherit her money, right?
 

Although I kind of hope Augi lives so he can root in jail...he is the death is too good for him type of Vilian.

Guerrero. Excellent recap, O.S., and great comments, Darcy, and totally agree on the need for more backstory on Jesus. Btw, welcome back! So it looks as if Fede may not be off the hook with the gamblers. Are those the men the security guard is talking to, or are they Augi's employees? Oh good! Vicki decides Guadalupe's place is too low class (or "dirty"!) for her to stay there. I'm assuming that something will happen to disrupt Sam and Bri's trip (I hope not Sam's being in the hospital, Darcy), courtesy of Augi no doubt. Oh, oh! Way to offer encouragement, Adrian! Of course he doesn't realize Sam IS Captain Justicia. Will Sam win the wrestling match despite the odds? Seems unlikely, but he's doing amazingly well.
