CAMINO Ep 86 Part 1

Eugenio tells Karen that whether Amparo likes it or not, he is getting a lawyer for Gaby so that she can have a fair trial; and he warns that she better not interfere. Karen mocks that the cook (Amparo sheds a few crocodile tears and he pits himself against his children. When she adds that Amparo and her daughter destroyed their family, Eugenio retorts that she is not one to be talking about destroying families after what she did! He asks what she will do to repair the damage she did to Dani. As Karen rebuts that Dani also had a lover, Eugenio grabs her laptop and realizes it is Fausto’s project. Karen explains that Fausto already acquired half of the property and they will start the first stage; Fausto even has partner (Este’s Toni??) Eugenio throws out a “No puede ser!” and storms out.

Dani is in a taxi as she is on the phone with Yo telling her that her offer is final; she won’t give another peso! Yo is not satisfied with the offer and points out that she knows Dani and her husband have mucho dinero. When Yo twists the knife telling Dani that Isa is so sad and misses her mother so much, Dani stands her ground and tells Yo that they have no deal…and she threatens to call Fausto to tell him what kind of baby sitter he hired for her child. Yo quickly calls Mac as Isa keeps eyeing her suspiciously. Yo tells Mac they have a big problem!

Eugenio goes to Fausto’s office claiming he can’t build the commercial center because he isn’t the owner of the land. Fausto asks him to calm down and shows him the contract Mac signed. And uh-oh! the sitting ducks realize that a Mac signed the same contract with both of them!

Dani arrives home and is greeted by none other than Mac the Rat. What are you doing in my house, asks Dani. As Mac stands, he responds that he came to personally tell her that Fausto no longer has her daughter, now he has her!

Sebas lies in his bed (I could have sworn I saw him move!) as Este holds his hand and cries. Lupita enters quietly and Este asks her to take good care of Sebas. She knows she hurt Lupita…both of them, but she never stopped loving him. Lupita notices her ring and Este confirms that she is getting married…he’s not the man of her dreams but he has money. After Lupita shares that Sebas asked her to marry him…Este acknowledges that their love was stronger than all her schemes. Sebas loves her like no other. Lupita knows, and she knows that love will help him recuperate.

Dani asks how Mac has his daughter. Mac assures that this is not a kidnapping because that sounds bad (as of he cared). This is a favor…a service. She lost her daughter, he found her and will return her. Dani asks how much money he wants. When Mac replies that he wants double what Yo asked for, Dani realizes that they are working together. Mac sarcastically explains that they are just two good people trying to bring together a mother and her daughter. He then gets huffy and tells her he wants the money in cash NOW!!

Eugenio tells Fausto that he gave Mac a hefty advance for the property. Fausto claims he has just about paid for all the property. They can’t believe Mac swindled them
both! When Eugenio mentions that he has a appointment to notarize the sale, Fausto tells him to cancel it because he already had his notarized.

Dani has the money for Mac but will not hand it over until her daughter is with her. On cue, the door bell rings…and it’s Yo with Isabela!! Isa runs to her mother’s arms and after they watch as Mac and Yo leave, they hug each other tightly shedding tears of joy.

CAMINO Ep 86 Part 2

Eugenio thinks Fausto is lying; it’s too soon for him to have gone to the notary, but when Fausto argues that he was working on this DEA since before Mac got his divorce, Eugenio concedes though he has promised Amparo he would return the land to her. Snarling, Fausto asks Eugenio is going to continue protecting that family even after his son is practically dead because of that family! Eugenio leaves after telling Fausto that he will not intermix the two things, but he will sue Mac! Fausto then quickly calls someone demanding that he needs to meet with the notary ASAP because he needs to sign the deeds today and he will take Mac with him!

Dani asks if the woman who brought Isa is the woman who was taking care of her. Isa replies that yes, she is the novia of Chema’s father (hmmm, wonder why she didn’t mention that to Fausto, but glad she didn't!). Then as Isa's voice turns angry and full of reproachment, Isa adds, “Just like you became papa Memo’s novia without telling me anything!” Isa runs up to her room as Dani is left speechless and perturbed.

Gaby walks into the visitors room crying and runs to hug her mother who is also crying as she tells Gaby that she has been praying so much for Gaby’s release. Gaby tells Amparo that being there is horrible, but she is okay; the important thing is that JP and Sebas be well. When she asks for JP and Sebas, Amparo replies that Sebas is the same and Lupita hasn’t stopped taking care of him. JP is okay, at his home. When Gaby asks if Amparo has seen JP, Amparo cries that he is very confused and upset. Gaby thinks he must be hating her and he has every reason.

Chuchita takes JP his meds and tries to encourage him to go to the garden, he needs to try (to overcome. JP reflects on his goals and how he disciplined himself to exercise and be in good shape…and for what? To end up in a bed! Chuchita advises that HEB needs to find another purpose in life, but down-in-the-dumps JP doesn’t feel up to it…and why should he work…so he can lose everything again?! Chuchita gets a bit frustrated and asks how he knows he will lose everything…he needs to keep his faith, but JP scowls that this is stronger than he is!

Dani and Isa are now in the garden sitting on a bench. Dani asks Isa to listen to her and try to understand. Isa reproaches that she stopped loving her papito and they are getting a divorce! Dani assures that she did love Fausto for many years. She married him loving him very much. When Isa asks what happened to all that love, Dani will explain the way she has explained so many other things—with plants and flowers. Love is like a plant; you have to care for it and water it every day so it can grow beautifully. Love is the same; you have to conserve it with acts of kindness and love, dedicating time to your partner and always looking for time to be together. When you stop watering a plant, it withers. The same happens with love; if you stop nourishing it, it ends. Isa thinks that is very sad and asks if her father stopped watering the plant of love. Dani explains that Fausto distanced himself from her; they hardly talked, didn’t go out and stopped spending time together; even here at home, they hardly talked and though she had Isa…she felt very sad. So the plant of love…dried up.

Ursula goes to see her King Memo. Memo is desperate to get out of there…his son is so little and he is locked up there. Ursula assures that she doesn’t leave Martín alone (like that is supposed to make Memo feel better!); she has taken good care of him and he won’t get sick again. Memo reservedly tells her he is glad she is close to him; after all she is his mother, isn’t she? Ursula ignores the question and tells Memo she leaving. She reaches out for his hand, but Memo just tells her, “We’ll see each other later.”

CAMINO Ep 86 Part 3

Dani continues to explain to Isa and she is doing a darned good job! She reminds Isa that when they met Memo, neither of them imagined that he was her bio-dad, but Isa quickly considered him a friend and started to love him. Isa remembers that she loved him very much and she didn’t know he was her papa. Dani continues that Memo entered her heart little by little with many acts of kindness. The day Isa met him, he gave her her favorite plant and when he found out she like the stars…he lent her his telescope. Isa smiles as she recalls how he helped her study and he didn’t even know how to speak English. Dani then reminds Isa that, despite all the work he had, Memo always found time to play with her. The same happened with her (Dani); she felt very lonely, very sad; and when Memo came into their lives, she smiled again. Isa agrees that is true; she saw that when they were with Memo, Dani always smiled. Dani explains that happens when a person finds someone whom they can talk to and share things and laugh. Memo is someone who understands her; and without knowing it, she fell in love with him. And Memo also fell in love with her.

Ursula calls Fausto who is at the restaurant looking for Mac but can’t find him anywhere: he feels like killing him! Ursula smiles; she will gladly tell him where Mac is, but she called him because she convinced Memo to talk to him. Fausto can make any demands he wants and Memo will agree just to have the charges dropped. Memo is so desperate that he will do anything to get out and help his family. Fausto has something more urgent to resolve and asks where he can find Mac.

Isa asks why Dani never told her anything. Dani apologizes for not talking to her before. She and Memo were waiting for the right moment to talk to her about it. They both want to make it clear that they were never what Isa was told they were…that which hurt her so much. When Isa remarks that Fausto and Karen told her that what they were doing was a sin, Dani cries that it doesn’t matter what they told her, what she and Memo have is not a sin…it’s the most beautiful blessing because she and Memo fell in love! They waited a long time to be together so that things were a certain way so that he wasn’t with Ursula and she wasn't with Fausto. And that way they could be together…and they have a dream that some day, Martín, Isa, Memo and she would be a family and live together. When she asks if Isa would like that, Isa smiles and says, “Yes!” That would mean that she could be always be with her papa Memo and her little brother! But Isa feels very sad that her papa Fausto will be all alone (oh if she only knew!) Dani assures that Isa can see Fausto however many times she wants…and Fausto will never stop being her father. Dani then asks if Isa forgives her for not telling her anything. Of course, Mamita! exclaims Isa! Dani cries that she missed Isa so much as she picks up Isa and sits her on her lap to hug her tightly.

Eugenio sits by Sebas’s bedside stroking his hair as he tells Sebas that when he was young he was mischievous…with so many of his ideas, but little by little he turned into a good man. Eugenio cries that he when he was the most proud of him, life turned on them. It’s not too late to tell him he loves him; and he needs him…Lupita and all those who love him need him. Eugenio is sure that God will grant them the miracle of letting them see him smile again. Eugenio sobs “Hold on to life, son! Please hold on!”

CAMINO Ep 86 Part 4

Chuchita sits in her room with a baby bib on the table as she talks to Leo whose tour with Monica is close to the end; he hopes she will be very proud of him. And he hopes his father understands that the name change is only a strategy because he is very proud of his Santos name. Chuchita is already proud of him and wishes he were already there with her. After he tells he that he will dedicate every song to her, she tells him not to get into any trouble. Even though Monica explained everything to her, she still doesn’t trust her. As he responds, Chuchita gets nauseous and drops her phone to go puke leaving Leo wondering what happened.

Gaby tells her cellmate that her mother’s visit did her good, but she wishes she could be with all the family, although she wishes she could also be with JP…taking care of him. When she shares that she has always looked after her family even as a child, her cellmate suggests that she request to be assigned to the clinic; Gaby can’t change what has happened, but she can change what WILL happen…and she can study to be a nurse!

Memo asks the prison director why he was brought to his office. The director explains that he has a very special visitor who can only see him there. Memo has his back to the door when Dani and Isa enter; and when Isa cries out “papa!” Memo turns and with eyes beaming, picks up Isabela and hugs her tightly as Dani watches impassionedly.

Mac has gathered his things in his Versace luggage (not! LOL). He hurries Yo as he carries the boxes to the door. There’s a knock on the door, and when Mac opens the door, Fausto barges in cursing Mac for having made a fool of him. Yo watches from the bedroom as Mac reminds Fausto that he also set him up, and Fausto barks that Aaron also betrayed him and he is dead! Mac looks for an out reminding Fausto that they have always been able to talk about and resolve things. Mac wants Fausto to calm down but instead Fausto pulls out his gun and orders Mac to go with him to the notary and sign the deeds. Mac starts to walk out but when Fausto hits him on the back, Yo-stupid runs out and asks Fausto to stop. Surprised, Fausto asks what she is doing there. She is supposed to be taking care of Isa, so Fausto demands to know where Isa is! When Yo-stupid replies that Isa is with her mother, Fausto turns the gun on her, then as he looks back and forth between Mac the Rat and Yo-stupid, he once again points the gun at Fausto.

The prison director leaves the reunited family alone so they can talk. After Memo asks his ladies to sit down, Isa asks why he is in jail. Memo explains that he did something stoopid…err that he shouldn’t have done. Isa figured it’s because he hit her father; so Memo confirms it adding that it was not the right thing to do. Memo asks that Isa forgive him, but she agrees with a condition—that he apologize to her papa Fausto. After Memo promises, Isa thinks that once he does, he will be released. Dani explains that it’s not that easy…because Fausto needs to retract the accusations he made against Memo. Isa will ask Fausto to do that and she sure Fausto will do as she asks because he is also good (poor illusive kid!).

Meanwhile…Fausto pushes Mac back and beside Yo asking how much money he took from Daniela. Mac replies just a little. Fausto knew he couldn’t trust a rat like him. Mac then smiles as he tells Fausto that he has always wanted to work for him…he’d be stupid(er) not to know that someone as powerful as Fausto needs someone to do his dirty deeds, and he doesn’t mind getting his hands dirty as long as he gets good money. Fausto doesn’t think Mac has the guts to be his assistant and he is not the type of assistant he’s looking for. Mac then tells him that when he hired Cesar to kill Memo, he helped him for money; and if Fausto had hired him, Memo wouldn’t be stealing oxygen.

CAMINO Ep 86 Part 5

Memo tells Isa that he knows that her mother explained how their love grew, but he wants her to listen to him too. He starts that what grew between her mother and him was not something he was looking for, he never imagined it. Love decides whose roads will cross, it comes as a surprise…maybe in the beauty of a flower or being up in a trailer loaded with good feelings. When Isa asks if he really fell in love with her mother, Memo assures he knew there would be many obstacles, but even then he fell in love with all his heart. As he holds Isa’s hands, he tells her that what he knows for sure is that her mommy is the woman of his life. Isa tells him that her godmother and papa Fausto told her that what they are doing is bad; so Memo tells her that love is never bad. He continues that her mother and he tried to tear their love out of their hearts because they didn’t want to hurt anyone, not her father, or Ursula, and much less her. The sky with all its stars blessed them by uniting them on a road which their love for her led them to. Memo then tells Isa that if she doesn’t want them to be together, though it will hurt him, he will respect her wishes and just try to be the best father for her and Martín. Isa looks at her mother who has lost her smile and looks crestfallen.

Fausto decides to give Max a chance but on one condition—he has to follow all his orders. Mac juts his chest as he tells Fausto to give him a test. Yo puts in her two cents that Mac is the meanest of all; Fausto won’t find another like him, but he has to pay him very well! Fausto wants to see if what Mac says it’s true and tells Mac to take the gun. Once Mac takes the gun and holds it confidently, Fausto tells him to point it at Yo-stupid and kill her in front of him!! (Bet that made Yo’s heart skip a beat or ten!) Mac looks at Yo who steps back looking muy scared! He then turns to Fausto looking totally torn as he vacillates.

Dani agrees with Memo; if Isa prefers that she and Memo be apart, she is willing so Isa can be at peace. Isa starts to respond but Memo wants to say one more thing—if she accepts the relationship between her mother and him, he promises that they will form the most marvelous home in the world…full of love and laughter; they will be the family he has always dreamed of. Isa comments that her mommy smiles a lot when he is with her; and she doesn’t want what happened to her friend to happen to her. Sofi doesn’t like her new mama, but she loves her two papas, and especially Martín. She does want them to be happy and she wants them to be a happy family. Dani and Memo smile in relief and happiness as they hug Isa and each other.

Fausto taunts Mac asking what’s wrong; does he not have the courage to shoot Yo? Mac replies that it’s not easy, but when Fausto reminds him that he just said he would follow all his orders, Mac doesn’t think they should involve Yo in this. Fausto hisses that Yo entered his home pretending to be a babysitter…and she took his daughter out of there to hand her to Daniela. Mac tries to explain, but Fausto barks that is doesn’t matter! He doesn’t have to explain his orders and if he wants him to kill her, he should do it! Yo-stupid should have worn her Depends because Mac turns slowly toward her breathing heavily, points the gun at her as she cries and asks what he is doing!

(Skipped scene) Loreta is sitting with Eugenio who appreciates her support…but he doesn’t want any misunderstandings; the only thing between them is a beautiful friendship (hehehee, balloon 1 busted!) She knows how much he loved his wife, but when he met Amparo, he was surprised that he could love again. Loreta thinks he was very fortunate. Eugenio agrees and adds that Amparo is now the love of his life. They decided to break up because of all that is happening, but that doesn’t mean he is looking to have a relationship with another woman; that will never happen (balloon 2 busted!). Loreta can’t say much except that she is there only as a friend.

CAMINO Ep 86 Part 6

Fausto is testing how dare Mac will go…as Yo-stupid stutters and cries to Mac that he promised they would marry…and the idiot still tells him she loves him! After she shrieks in anguish, Mac is sorry but they will see each other in the next world…and he pulls the trigger!! But the gun wasn’t loaded. Yo continues her wailing as Fausto takes the gun from a frozen s***less Mac and tells him they need to leave.

Karen is with Sandra and can’t believe she doesn’t know where to find the information! Sandra complains that Karen is pressuring her too much…she already has a headache! After Karen sneers that this is a matter of life and death, Sandra reiterates that she doesn’t know how Aaron was going to send her the information; she just wants to end this…her brother’s death is hurting her and asks for some time. After Sandra assures that she will call Karen as soon as she finds something, Karen agrees to leave since she is wasting her time there. After Karen leaves, Sandra calls someone and tells them that she’s going to pick up what her brother left her! (Good call, Sandra!)

(Skipped scene #2) Memo is told that he needs to go back to his cell. Isa doesn’t want him to go but he explains that he has to follow rules. It pains him not to be able to leave with them, but he will soon be out of there. I’m the meantime, he doesn’t want them to forget that he loves them with all his heart.

Now home, Dani is tucking Isa in bed as Isa asks if she can go to school the next day. After Dani agrees, Isa remarks that she misses her friends, especially Chema. Isa then shares that she misses her uncle JuanPa and wonders what time he will arrive home. Dani tries to hide her tears, but Isa knows something is wrong. Dani explains that her uncle is not well…he had an accident and they will have to be very affectionate toward him and be supportive of him…because he lost a leg. They console each other with a hug.

Sandra sits at the table watching the video Aaron made. He tells her that if she is watching this, that means already killed him and surely Karen has gone to look for her…they have been lovers for many years. Karen needs to receive the USB and Memo needs to get the tablet where all the evidence regarding Fausto’s crimes can be found...hehopes Fausto rots in jail.

(Skipped scene #3) Gaby sits on her bunk with a book (about nursing). She smiles as she says that now she knows where she is going.

Loreta and the (un)happy couple are having dinner together. Loreta has an idea—Toni should buy her apartment… Toni mocks that first she sold him Stefi, now she wants to sell him her apartment…he feels like he’s at the outlet mall getting all the good deals! Stefi doesn’t appreciate his comment and ask her mother if she’s serious. Loreta’s new plan is to leave Mexico since her attempt with Eugenio failed. She has nothing more to do there.

Fausto shows up at Dani’s house; he is there for his daughter!

Mac returns to a somber, dark apartment where Yo sits reclined and scowling that he pulled the trigger; he was going to kill her!

Ursula says good night to her son and Chema when Sandra rushes in looking for Memo. Looking her up and down, Ursula asks who she is and why is she looking for Memo.

Dani demands that Fausto give her the house keys since he no longer lives there. Fausto doesn’t plan on staying too long and calls out for Isabela. He tries to go upstairs but Dani harps that he is not taking Isa! Fausto hisses that what she paid Mac is worthless, Isa will not stay there one minute longer! Dani starts yelling that he has to kill her before taking her daughter! Fausto tells her to calm down because he has a judge’s order giving him temporary custody until a decision is made. Dani shouts at the top of her lungs, “I don’t care what you do! Isabela stays here!!” They are interrupted by Isa who also shouts at them to stop yelling at each other! She is going with her papa Fausto!!

FIN!!

Thank you Rgv Chick! You captured every moment of this eventful episode and brought both fun and humor to every moment!!!

Yo-stupid indeed!!! She made every idiotic move there was to make tonight and now I wonder if she's reached her limit finally or if she'll forgive Mac of even this? Karen and Yo are alike in one thing, they are both hopelessly obsessed with men who have absolutely zero likability!!! I just can't fathom it...

Dani got Isa back! At least for part of an episode and I agree she really did a great job of explaining to Isa exactly what happened between her and Memo. A part of me balks at the idea that Dani owes her seven year old daughter any explanation, but with all the psychological abuse Isa has received from both Falso and Karen, I think it's probably good for her to have a mother like Dani who can explain things to her so plainly!

Sandra escaped Karen for at least the moment, and it gives me hope that she might live through this tale after all! Her end is probably prison given her involvement in Isa's illegal adoption but she might just live.

Speaking of prison, it's nice to see Gaby making the best out of this horrible situation and finding a way to feel useful. If it leads to her finally finding her path in life all the better!

I really thought Sebas was a goner but I think it was you who said the writers probably wouldn't have let him leave this long just to kill him off so I'm starting to think he may just 'hold on to life' like daddy is begging him to!

Loreta isn't evil enough to compete with the likes of Ursa and Karen but I'd still like to throw her in a hole!!! She sold her daughter exactly like Tony said, and now that her plans with Eugenio failed she has nothing else to do here so she wants to sell the apartment for spending money and leave the country??? Este is obviously very uncomfortable and unhappy in this situation that mommy forced her into and Loreta doesn't give a damn! She has not one ounce of concern or compassion for her daughter! She did accomplish something I didn't think would be possible though, she's made me feel extreme sympathy for Este!!! At this point, I even hope Este finds some redemption, she seems to have found peace with Lupe.

Rgv Chick, your exquisitely written overarching summary warmed the heart and soul.

You beautifully conveyed Memo and Daniela’s explanation of the genesis, care and nurturing of their love. Despite all they have endured, theirs remains a pure, simple love that fuels and strengthens every fiber in their being. A love to live for, a love they would die for.

I always eagerly look forward to your golden nuggets and there were many tonight including “the sitting ducks”, “Mac the Rat” and ‘Yo-stupid.” “Mac has gathered his things in his Versace luggage (not! LOL)” had me smiling away.

“Sebas lies in his bed (I could have sworn I saw him move!)” Yes, I did too! ☹ I wondered if that was intentional or just the camera catching him a moment or two before he was ready. When I saw the frilly blouse sleeve, for whatever reason, I knew it was Este. She seemed to be fairly contrite and I think her being “sold” into a loveless marriage will mete out more than her punishment.

“Eugenio sobs “Hold on to life, son! Please hold on!” was heartbreaking.

Once again Fausto barges into the house to spirit Isa away. Why hadn’t Dani changed the locks? I’d hazard a guess there are no judge’s orders because it’s an out and out lie (just like every drop of poison that drips from his mouth!).

I thought Macario would turn the gun on Fausto. Nopis. A coward and a murdering one at that.

It took prison for Gaby to find out what she wants to do. At least she has a good cell mate otherwise her life would be even grimmer. JuanPa is still wrapped in his cocoon of self-pity. Sandra has survived longer than I’d thought but at least she appears to realize Karen may not be the devoted confidante she purports to be.

“Karen needs to receive the USB and Memo needs to get the tablet where all the evidence regarding Fausto’s crimes can be found”. I hope Aaron made arrangements for Memo to get the information directly rather than going through Karen. I still have no idea whether she will betray Fausto in the end.

Will Grace return??

Rgv Chick, another stellar outing – thank you!

Diana

Thanks, Rgv Chick, what a wonderful story you told! The scenes that were left were kind of important. I wondered why Loreta was wanting to sell her apartment and leave.

Dani and Memo both did a beautiful job explaining about love. Their expressions are always so fitting, or well done. That’s talent!

I can’t believe Yo-stupid(love that!)is still there. I would have left with the money from Dani. Mac was going to follow orders and kill her! Dani needs to explain love to her!

So glad Gabi found her calling. I think this one will stay with her. But when is she going to mention “no brakes”. I guess if I wrote these telenovelas they’d be a lot shorter!

I can’t believe Isa is going with Fausto. She was so excited about getting back to school, and so bored with her dad.

I hope Sandra doesn’t give Ursula the USB. Why don’t people to the right thing and go to the police!

Dear Chickie, thank you for bringing us every soul squeezing detail as the villains continue to try to carry out their agendas and the little fish continue to try to shake down the big bads to get what they want .Hopefully , these nasty folks will eventually do each other in .

I can't believe that Isa wants to return to evil , conniving Faust after all the wheeling and dealing to get Isa back to Dani.

Are we supposed to believe that it is always darkest before the dawn? Are we going to get a dawn as most traditional telenovelas used to give us ?

CAMIMO

Thank you, Darcy, Diana, and Liz! Your generosity and kindness always make my day, and your insight always impressive!

Darcy, regarding Yo-stupid, "I wonder if she's reached her limit finally or if she'll forgive Mac of even this?" well you would think she's reached her limit finally! If this was not an eye opener for her, I don't know what would be. I'm glad Mac mentioned his involvement in Memo's attempted murder and hope that Yo does turn on him and RAT out the Rat big time!

I agree with everyone about Dani's and Memo's explanation about their relationship--so beautiful I had to include it all! I think Isa was more than ready to accept an explanation--she missed her mommy's sincere words and love.

Diana, "It took prison for Gaby to find out what she wants to do. At least she has a good cell mate otherwise her life would be even grimmer." It's not often that we see a "nice" cellmate; in fact I can't remember nay main/supporting character going to prison without getting harassed and/or beaten. This change was really nice. I don't know why Gaby had never thoguth to study nursing; how many times did we hear Humberto praise her for always being so attentive and caring for his needs and that of others. Prison is not the best way to find your calling though LOL

There must be a reason why Aaron has a USB for Karen and the tablet for Memo...they must have different types of information, though I'm sure Karen's has to have info about the helicopter "accident." And just to clarify, Sandra is to give the tablet to Memo; she's only supposed to give the USB to Karen.

Este looks totally miserable; I think her anvil is pretty clear. I was a bit surprised that she made peace with Lupita...signs of redemption!

CAMINO

Susanlynn, you're very welcome!

"I can’t believe Isa is going with Fausto." I can't either! You just never know what a child will do or think, but Isa knows that her Mommy has Memo and several people who love her and are with her. Isa THINKS Fausto is all alone...poor guy... NOT!

We Have to Talk: Dialogue as Needed Edition
Part 1 of 5

Gerardo excused himself to attend to an emergency; Armando questioned this. Elsa entered and apologized for lateness; in answer to her father she said she had been in the kitchen making the salad. Armando then addressed the family, saying it was the custom to honor the New Year by stating the good that had happened through the previous year. Martin looked doubtful Armando then said something about the bad that had been dealt with. Elsa spoke first, saying that it was a bad thing for their mother to be absent. Armando then reminded Elsa that this has not ended. He then wanted to mention a memory of Estela. The younger kids all said they wanted their mother home. Armando said that would be up to the doctor. Elsa said this was not entirely the doctor's decision. Just as she tried to question Armando Elena put up the roadblock, giving Armando the opening to say how much they all miss Estela and want her home soon. Sofia said she prayed every night for that. When Elsa said that wasn't all there was to it, Armando said to stop this and to eat.

Padre Reynaldo chased Guillermina and she stopped to avoid being hit by a car. He told her not to repeat any of this to Don Armando. She said “He needs to know she is expecting a baby. This was no small thing.” The padre told her to give Elsa the opportunity to tell him and told her it was a festive night and insisted she dine with him. She refused. “I have nothing to celebrate and I know my duty.”
“Your duty is not to interfere in other's lives. Least of all with them; it will only cause problems.” “I don't understand why shouldn't he know he is about to become a grandfather.” He told her it was not her place to deliver this news, but it was to no avail. She walked over to the curb and got into a cab.

Hector drank to the new year and to accomplishing all their goals. Carlos drank to “the love of my life who will be my wife” and Aurora looked like she'd rather be anywhere else. After clinking glasses with Hector Aurora began to cry. She excused herself from the table.

Just as the padre feared, Guillermina went to the Quiroga house. Both Armando and Elena looked at their watches as in “Who could that be at this hour?” She charged into the house as Flor opened the front door. She excused herself but she had something urgent to tell Armando. Armando sarcastically asked how urgent could this be that she interrupted a family dinner. She did not want to have this conversation publicly and asked to speak to him in private. Armando got up, annoyed, and said “Let's go into the study.”

Two sentences later she ratted Elsa out. Two seconds later he asked how she found out and she told him that she heard Elsa talking to the padre who tried to talk her out of telling him “but I felt it was my duty to tell you this.” He sat down, thanking her. She could brown-nose with the best of them, saying that such an exemplary father like him deserves this information.

Padre Reynaldo arrived. Sofia let him in as Elsa got up to talk to him. He asked whether Guillermina was there and Elsa told him she was in the study with her father. The padre said he wanted to talk to her father just as Elena got up from the table to ask what Guillermina heard. Elsa said “Nothing” but Elena would not back down. She then asked the padre why Guilermina “is here at this hour. What is she telling my father?” Guillermina and Armando came out of the study and when she saw the padre she couldn't get out of the house fast enough. As Gerardo rose from the table Armando greeted the padre as though nothing was wrong. Gerardo came back with two bottles of bubbly, greeted the padre, and asked whether he'd like to have a toast to the new year. Armando started saying that the padre had many calls to make but was artfully contradicted by him.

Carlos ran after Aurora who asked why he was so good to her. There was too much not said. They didn't break up but it looked like they should have. They went back downstairs. Montage of toasting and hugs in all quarters: The Morales family, Estela and Angela alone in their rooms, and the Quirogas. Padre Reynaldo managed to tell Elsa what Guillermina had done. That was immediately followed by Armando cornering Elsa in his study. He gave an Oscar-worthy performance of grief, listing the other bad things that happened (Estela sick and Domingo's accident, then this). She said that Andres was the love of her life and he shouted at her to shut up. He paused for a moment then asked how she could do this. She said that she was happy to be having Andres' child. He considered this a disgrace, finally saying that “with him you will never be happy.” She protested again, saying that neither he nor anyone else will separate then again. “Basta! My patience is at an end. This is over.” He slammed the door and locked it on his way out.

Aurora saw her father talking with Silvia and got bent out of shape. Carlos askked her what she expected to do and suggested she forget about them and concentrate on their future life together. She broke the kiss due to What Others Might Say. He was not overly concerned about that. Horacio was not very happy at this sight.

Hector hugged his daughter who had a little too much bubbly. She wanted a boyfriend. She waws the only one of her family who had nobody. He tried to say he was alone but she said “No; you are protecting somebody” and finally said “I don't want a step-mother who would make a Cinderella out of me.” He laughed.

The younger Quiroga kids described the gifts their father had given them. Padre Reynaldo started to ask about Elsa when Armando came back downstairs, saying that Elsa was in her room because she ate something that didn't agree with her. The padre started addressing him and Armando replied they had nothing to talk about. Padre Reynaldo told him he knew what this was about sotto voce with Armando trying to shush him because of the kids. He started to say that the baby is a blessing to the family and Armando interrupted him to say “this one is not. You are not to say so in front of my children.” The padre went on about this being a shock and unexpected; that this was understandable. But soon he would see that this new life is a gift from God. Armando told him he didn't need his superstitions. Aloud he said he would see him to the door. The padre wished the kids a happy new year as Armando showed him the door.

Carlos led Aurora up to his room, saying he wanted to spend the night with her. During the kiss she asked if they shouldn't wait until the honeymoon and he said why should they? They embraced and began kissing again.

Hector went to Estela's room and they talked about how next New Year's will be better. He told her not to worry, that she was safe. She told him that Armando would never let go of her even if he was in love with Angela. [It looks like she doesn't really know Armando]. If I divorce him he's see that I end up in the streets.” Hector was under the impression that upon divorce Estela would get her inheritance back. She said that would take time. He said he would help her in all things. She stood up and they embraced.

Part 2 of 5

Gerardo poured more bubbly for himself and Elena, spilling a drop on her skirt in the process. She was irritated. He then asked Armando if he'd like some more. Armando said he was tired and was going to bed.

Elsa took her cell out of the nightstand and called Andres. He did not answer so she left him a voicemail to text her as soon as he could. He was downstairs opening champagne. Silvia and Antonio came home and the padre arrived almost at the same moment. They drank a toast and the padre said they had to talk. Urgently.

Elena went up to Armando's room, wanting to know what was up. He told her he had invited Guillermina to join them because she is a solterona. As to the padre he is a busybody always looking for a free meal. Elena knew he was lying. He said this was vigilance, like keeping an eye on Flor so she doesn't help another family. Elena said he could count on her and left him alone.

Andres knew this was about Elsa and the padre told him everything. Including that when Armando came back downstairs from Elsa's room she was not with him. He warned him to be careful. Andres said he was not going to hide from him.

Armando called Renzo to order him to go to Andres' house immediately with the three thugs. Renzo told him he was at his aunt's house but Armando threatened unemployment if he didn't immediately obey.

Elsa tried calling Andres again but had no better luck.

Renzo along with the thugs we have seen before went to Andres' home telling him that their boss wanted to see him. Andres said he would meet with him in the morning. Padre Reynaldo wanted to go along. Renzo refused to allow this. Antonia said that if their boss wanted to talk with Andres he could come there [She just put a target on her own back.] The padre said “If anything happens, I will have witnessed your actions.” >[I guess victim status demands company.]

Estela nightmared about Armando doing the electroshock torture on her.

Sofia and Martin were playing Twister and were told it was bedtime. Flor took Domingo to the kitchen to take his meds. Martin wanted to join the Morales' party but Elena said “No; that is not for children.” Gerardo suggested to Elena that they go out but the doorbell rang. Renzo, thugs, and Andres entered. Elena seemed to know that Armando was waiting for them in the study. She shrugged and told Gerardo that this must have something to do with Elsa, adding that this was related to the two earlier visits.

Armando accused Andres of being a fortune hunter. Andres denied this, saying that he loved Elsa and they were going to have a family, “Never. Never,” Armando said to his face. Andres asked what he was meaning to do by this. “You should show her you love her and the only thing to look for is to make her happy. “ Armando sarcastically made fun of those romantic notions saying “I've known people like you. I recognize social climbers.” Andres only asked to show that he was not such a person and he would take care of her and the baby. Armando said that no way this would happen. He was never to see Elsa again or the baby. “Neither of them will be in your life, do you understand?” He opened the door. “Neither you nor anyone else will get between me and my child. Let's make that clear.”

Armando closed the door, sat down, and loosened his tie. He appeared to be short of breath.

Part 3 of 5

Horacio and three friends continued to drink wine into the wee hours.

Padre Reynaldo sat up with Silvia and Antonia trying to keep their spirits up. Silvia aid that Andres was stubborn about all this. He then came home and told them what happened. He emphasized that he refused to be a coward and was not going to allow anyone to keep him away from his child. All three pledged their help and support.

The next morning Aurora got dressed and said she had to visit her mother. Carlos told her that this was the best night of his life. He kissed her hand and she looked equally happy. He wanted to go with her but she didn't want anyone else to know that last night had happened. He didn't feel the same way and they were going to be married. But he caved and kissed her again, She left at 6AM in the evening dress of the night before and he got back into bed.

Horacio and the other guys were still sitting at the same table. He looked up and saw Aurora leaving the hotel. He didn't quite believe it and said “No; this can't be” and tried to excuse himself. The others would not let him leave.

Carlos was also getting dressed with his pseudo wife asking where he was going. When he told her he was going to check on his mother she was miffed. Her father always insisted that they eat together on New Year's Day. “I am not going to run my life on what pleases or doesn't please your father.” he said. “You have to learn that, too.” “As long as we live in his house we have to show respect for him,” she answered. Gerardo reminded her that they were there by Armando's request until her mother came back from the hospital. She said they were staying as long as her father needed her. [I feel like I've typed that out at least three times before.] “You are a married woman. I should be your priority, not your father. Why can't you be more like Elsa? She defends who she loves.” [Gerardo, you just stepped on a land mine.] “Don't compare me to her. All she knows how to do is cause problems for my father.” “I demand that you respect her. Why do you attack her?” “I don't believe what you'te saying.” “We'll see each other tonight.” He left.

Meche and Carlos made breakfast and Hector was pleased. Horacio came home and loved the sight of the chile relleños. They were all about to sit down when Armando arrived saying “We have to talk.”
Hector was more than a little annoyed but gave Armando the same treatment he had dished out to Guillermina the previous evening. When Armando pushed his own blood pressure to the limit he demanded to know where Estela was. This got ugly very quickly but when Armando got seriously insulting Horacio had had it and told him to leave if he could not be more civilized. He finally said “You are not going to take my wife away” before leaving.

After Armando's departure the Morales family finally were able to eat. Hector did not confide in his children that he had taken Estela out of the madhouse. Meche asked whether he had been in love with Estela before marrying her mother. Hector told her that he had been very much in love with her mother when they were married. Horacio said that since Armando had never supported Hector he took things out on him. Hector explained that he was horrified at Estela was in such a place and he hoped that Armando never finds her. Then he told them all that this was never to leave that table.

Part 4 of 5

Martin and Sofia discovered that Elsa was locked in her room. Martin went for the keys but did not find them. Elena had them and she sent the two younger siblings downstairs to breakfast. She got into Elsa's room and gleefully told her that by their father's orders she was to stay locked in her room. She claimed not to know the duration. Flor was in the kitchen and forbidden to see her. “So I am in charge of you,” she said. Elsa said “You wear the jailer role well, Sister dear. Don't worry; you'll do your job completely.” Elena warned her not to pound the door; she had never seen their father so angry before. Elena left her alone.

Estela called room service for coffee and fruit for two. Antonia took the order.

Armando entered Elsa's room. Without looking up from her book Elsa said she had been told she as to be incarcerated. Armando asked “Did you expect anything else? After what you did I can't trust you.” “Don't worry; I am not thinking of escaping.” This led into the same argument as usual with the exception that Elsa had another act to vilify. Flor came in with a breakfast tray and deliberately walked in between them to place it on the table. Armando got on it immediately telling her that she was forbidden to enter that room. Elena would be in charge.

Once outside the room she said she wasn't aware she was not allowed in Elsa's room. Armando demanded to know how long she had known about this. Flor did not answer. “You will talk. One more time and you're finished.”

Padre Reynaldo saw Guillermina in the street and had to shout her name multiple times to get her attention. He told her what had happened the night before and that if anything happened to Andres it would be on her conscience. She must have none at all because she told him she only did what was “good and right.” He told her off, telling her that Elsa had every right to love Andres and be with him. He finished with “I hope God can forgive you, but I don't.”

Part 5 of 5

Nor would the padre forgive Armando's next action. He called Renzo to ask if he knew an abortionist. He replied that he didn't but his aunt probably knew someone. Armando told him that this was to be handled with the utmost discretion. He was not to make the call about this but to keep him informed.

Silvia delivered the room service tray and left it outside Estela's door. She had been put next door to Lamberto. As she and Lamberto talked Estela pulled the cart into her room and Silvia saw her.

Renzo arrived at a destination in a less than upscale neighborhood. A woman came out of the building and he introduced himself. The woman went inside and another – Doñoa Olivia – came out. Renzo presented the situation in vague terms and she said she didn't do such things. She went back inside and closed the door.

A doctor at the hospital discharged Angela, saying she needed a lot of rest. Aurora said that the next day was her wedding and the doctor said that Angela could attend. The doctor handed the file to Gerardo along with a prescription for three days' medications. The good mood was short-lived. Fuentes arrived with an arrest warrant for Angela for her attack on Andres.

Chickie, after thinking about it, I think Isa said she would go with Fausto just to stop the yelling. Children feel terrible when their parents constantly argue in front of them.

Let' hope this is the darkness before dawn. We need good to triumph over bad.

Mindfulness. Gratitude. Kindness.

Sorry this took so long and another taboo has been broken just as another secret is threatened. Can't wait for your comments.

Urban, thanks for an excellent recap as the pot bubbles and boils.

Armando is a joyless, unscrupulous tyrant .

What is wrong with Guillermina? Is she in love with Armando and trying to gain his attention ? Elena is his other enabler . How did Gerardo not see how messed up Elena is?

I am surprised that Aurora slept with Carlos since she seems smitten by Horacio.

Armando needs to control everyone . Now he wants Elsa to have an abortion .

I hope Estela can remain hidden.

Perdona #19

Visually, Guillermina reminds me of the Wicked Witch of the West. The reality is that she is a vampire. She loves sucking the life out of others who have what she does not. She is so joyless that she preys upon others' miseries.

Elena is just like her. How did that happen?

Loved seeing Fuentes with the arrest warrant in Angela's hospital room.

What concerns me now is that Estela still isn't safe. Hector needs to find a better place for her and if Armando has his thugs follow him around that will be next to impossible.

Camino

Thanks, Rgv Chick. Terrific job. Things are so intense day after day now, but you lay out everything with such clarity and wit. Always a treat.

Isa surely prefers to be with Dani and Memo, so I've got to see why in her young head she chose Fausto. She feels sorry for him?

Come on, Yo. Turn against Macario. Silly me thought his cheating on Yo would be her wakeup call, but finding out Mac would be willing to kill her is so much better.

My favorite scenes was Aaron on screen giving his sister instructions. Fingers-crossed that Sharon will do what he says -- and keep mum with Karen.

PERDONA

Thanks, Urban, for another great recap of another very grim episode.

A few thoughts:

1. YES! Elena does own the company. Let us see if she has what it takes to turn the screws on Armando and take him out.

2. Father Reynado should have fired Guillermina on the spot after seeing what she did. He should have told her she had committed the sin of HUBRIS.. PRIDE.

3. Why does Guillermina have such loyalty to Armando?

4. Gerard was lucky getting to leave the New Year Day festivities.

5. Elsa’s refusal to disappoint daddy dearest and taking over for him imprisoning Elsa was despicable and twisted. I continue believing that there is an inappropriate enmeshment for some kind between the two of them. She will be there as long as daddy dearest needs her?

6. I hope that Héctor didn’t make a mistake telling his kids about Elsa.

7. Flor needs to start looking for a new job.

8.Since Father Reynaldo seemed to know of Guillermina’s penchant for eavesdropping, why was he not more careful when talking to Elsa?

9. One more woman locked in a room and still none has broken out the windows or called the police? Really?

10.Carlos looked even more stupid than usual (that beard does the actor no favors—I cannot wait until the beard fad is over) with that crazy hat on his head.

11. Why would Andrés answer the “summons” to Armando’s house?

12. Could Silvia keep her mouth shut about seeing Estela? Looks like she couldn’t and had to tell Lamberto.

12. Looks like Armando wants an abortion for Elsa on the schedule for the New Year. I wonder if his minion’s auntie will find anyone willing to do it.

"CAMINO" Episode#86:

RGV Chick: AWESOME job on the recap of last night's episode.

Niecie: 6 more episodes before the Happy Ending.

Perdona

Thanks so much Urban, that was great even as our good people seem to have more troubles than ever.

I hope the Padre will fire Guillermina. She’s not at all trustworthy and seems to delight in causing problems. Same as Elena, but I think Elena is jealous of her sister. She does seem to get great joy when Daddy Dearest is mad at Elsa. Elena has a twisted love for her dad.

I was surprised that Aurora spent the night with Carlos. There’s much more passion when she’s kissing his brother.

I don’t think we can trust Lamberto to keep Estela’s whereabouts a secret. He considers Armando his best friend. Hector should have warned any staff dealing with rooms that the guest in the one room was in danger, and to keep it a secret. I was surprised Silvia told. I guess she trusts Lamberto.

Padre should hire Flor to replace Guillermina. Then Guillermina can go take Flor’s job.

I did not realize Gerardo compared Elena to Elsa! I sure wish I had understood what he was saying.

Elsa will never have an abortion willingly. And Geraldo will be gone all day.

The very bruised Fuentes seemed to enjoy arresting Angela. But now Andres will probably be arrested!

Liz

Perdona

Gracias, Urban. Super recap.

I want to slap Guillermina. Yes, she should be fired and then some. Such an idiot. She didn't even notice Armando's rudeness to her before she spilled the beans.

I cannot believe all this is going on and Elsa hasn't been able to connect with Andres on the phone.

When Elena unlocked Elsa's room and entered, I was hoping Elsa would smack the crap out of Elena and run out of there.

I have to give Horacio props for standing up to Armando for talking smack to his pops.

Perdona

Urban, another nail biting episode which you handled perfectly.

"The padre said “If anything happens, I will have witnessed your actions.” >[I guess victim status demands company.]" and "She broke the kiss due to What Others Might Say" were among many favorites.

Yes, I don't know why Elsa didn't call the police. Fuentes and Armando are certainly not on good terms but Fuentes is equally as heinous as Armando so...

"Armando closed the door, sat down, and loosened his tie. He appeared to be short of breath". The man is a medical miracle. He's already had one heart attack and is likely doing long term and (hopefully) irreversible damage to his heart.

Coming between brothers is never a good thing. Aurora best make up her mind. In spite of Carlos' strange beard (which I think was done to make him rather unappealing), he seems to be a good guy. I do not like Horacio.

Elena is preening at her new title of "jailer" and I'm sure finding Elsa's phone will be next. How much will it take for Gerardo to leave her???

Jarifa, so disappointed to see Silvias loose lips and her telling Lamberto means word will spread like wildfire.

Last but not least, can someone please get Estela a pair of pajamas???

Diana

Perdona #19

Great list, Jarifa! Let's see...

3. We don't have any backstory on Guillermina, but is there any possibility that they were poor and in school together? It takes a lot of intelligence and chutzpah to go from poverty to where Armando now is. She may think it will benefit her to kiss up to him.

5. Elena's attitude toward Elsa may always have been this way. I've said before that if Elena was born a year after Armando and Estela were married she would be 5 years older than Elsa. That could make for much resentment toward her because she had to share her parents with her. If Martin had been the second child that may not be the case. Also, Elsa seemed to have ben preparing for a career. Elena doesn't have one. The other unsavory option does not exclude either of these.

7. I don't think she will. Juliet's nurse never would quit.

8. This time they were outdoors. He should have fired her the previous time.

9. Angela would have been the window-breaker but let's not count Elsa out yet.

11. Those three thugs would have beaten Andres to within an inch of his life. Besides, he wasn't alone when they came for him.

12. Lamberto seems to be a safe person.

13. Good question, but why is this written this way when abortion is now legal in Mexico? The original version of this story was set in the 1950s but the 50s didn't have computers and cell phones.

Diana, I have been worried about that cell phone for a long time. If Elena is the only person she is going to see Elsa needs to keep it on Airplane Mode.

PERDONA

Urban, thanks for the eye-opening info that this novela’s original version was set in the 1950’s. Maybe they should have done this one as a “novela de época” if they didn’t want to take the time update certain things like locking up women, abortion issue, etc.

Camino #87 Part 1

Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul, and sings the tunes without the words, and never stops at all – Emily Dickinson

Fausto crows at Daniela (like the vain peacock he is), that she heard it herself, Isabela goes with him! Daniela turns to Isabela and asks if she is sure and the dear child replies yes, she doesn’t want her daddy to be sad or lonely! When Fausto orders Isa to get her things, Daniela refuses to let her go. She was already in bed and needs to sleep so she can go to school tomorrow. As he rushes her along, he says he’ll take Isa to school. Isa stops and her angelic little face tilts toward Fausto and she tells him before she goes with him, he must promise to get her papa Memo out of jail!

Her stare piercing and overtly curious, Ursula gets in Sandra’s face, asking why she is looking for Memo. She asks where she knows him from as she hasn’t seen her around before. Sandra stares emotionlessly and states she only needs to talk to Mr. Santos. Ursula tells her he’s not there and suggests Sandra leave her message with her. Sandra states she will return another day but does tell Ursula to tell Memo that she is ready to answer his questions.

Fausto sneers, errr, assures Isabela that he’ll take care of it tomorrow. Isabela tells him her papa Memo is very regretful for having beat him up. Fausto thinks Daniela told her that but Isabela tells him Memo told her; he promised he would apologize to him. Daniela reminds him that Memo is Isa’s biological father; she adores him and Fausto can’t separate her from Memo. Further, he also can’t keep her away from her daughter. Isabela agrees and tells Fausto he also has to promise that she can see her mommy and papa Memo however many times she wants. Fausto mocks that they finally convinced Isabela to accept what’s going on between them. Dani clarifies that they only explained things to Isa because her daughter has a very wrong impression of her relationship with Memo; it would be best if he also had a talk with Isa.

Her face mirroring her hurt and betrayal, Yolanda tells Macario that Grace always told her he never really loved her; she refused to believe it but he shot to kill her! Macario tells her that the gun was not loaded, but Yolanda points out the bitter truth that neither of them knew that. He pointed the gun at her heart, shooting it and left it in pieces. Macario stupidly insists that he knew the gun wasn’t loaded, but Yolanda scoffs that she’s not dumb enough to believe that. When Macario defends what he did, Yolanda asks the million-dollar question. Had it had been one of his other children or Amparo, would he have pulled the trigger? Max quickly says yes because it behooves them that he works for Fausto…this will change their lives! He grabs her and she steps back, glaring.

Fausto tells Daniela that he will talk to Isa, but later. Daniela then says “no” and tells Isabela to go back to bed; she isn’t going with her father tonight. Fausto concedes and tells Isabela to go. Once Isabela leaves, Daniela tells Fausto that her daughter is doing this because she is very noble and she doesn’t want her father to be alone and sad. Fausto disregards the reasons; he will stay with Isabela. Daniela hopes he tells her the whole truth, though she knows he’s a coward!

Diana

Camino #87 Part 2

Yolanda hisses that even Amparo warned her Macario was a nobody; he doesn’t have a wife, his kids, he destroyed his family! He lost it all and all he cares about is dinero! Macario scathingly reminds her that she likes money too…she is no saint. He spits out (the truth) that she didn’t even care that her daughter left; all she cared about was that Grace took the money. Yolanda wanted to do the same—take the money Daniela gave them, but she didn’t…because she has waited for him ALL her life! She has put up with everything because of her stupid dream to be his wife! Macario tells her he will marry her. Tears streaming down her face, he grabs her but she pushes him on the floor. Yolanda tells him he will pay her back!

Daniela reproaches Fausto for pitting Isabela against them when his relationship with Karen is far worse. When Fausto assures her he will fight for and get custody of Isabela, Danila reminds him she will soon be the executor of Isabela’s fortune. She doesn’t care about the money, but she knows he does! Fausto mocks that she is trying to intimidate him and tells her he WILL get what belongs to him. All viewerville fervently wants is for Fausto to get what’s coming to him…

Danila checks on Isabela who is downcast and admittedly sad. She wonders if her two fathers will be friends one day (when worlds collide we whisper) and confesses that she prefers to live with her. Before going to sleep, Danila reminds Isabela that she needs to pray, and she does, like an angel, then blessing herself. Daniela tucks her in, telling her to be calm and nestles next to her.

Fausto tells Karen that Daniela declared war…and Karen needs to give him a child! It is the only way he can get his inheritance. Karen coos “muy pronto” as she starts undressing him. We avert our eyes to avoid the burn.

Chema tells Isabela she was very much missed!

Skipped Scene #1 (courtesy of Rgv Chick) Amparo takes Memo some food for the heart (tamales) and books for the soul so he won’t get behind. Memo asks about Humberto and Amparo assures him he is coming along. She then tells him she asked for the hospital bill and it is sky high. It’s money she doesn’t have and she also needs money to help Gaby. Memo mentions that Leo was going to send her money. Amparo knows that Leo will send some, but he already told her it wouldn’t be much. Clearly beside herself, Amparo admits she doesn’t know what to do! Kind, generous Memo offers to sell his truck. When Amparo reminds him he has two children to support, Memo tells her that assets are meant to address the debts.

Chema is surprised that Daniela and Memo are novios. He doesn’t know much because his mommy tells him he is too young, but he knows something is going on because Nelida takes care of him all day long. Isa thinks she knows what’s going on and will now tell Chema.

Diana

Camino #87 Part 3

Eugenio is glad Isabela is back with Daniela. Daniela is as well but worries about Amparo who is going through a very difficult time. Macario has had another woman for many years and they had a daughter. As a woman, she knows what a devastating impact that will have. Then, Eugenio’s phone rings and he tells the caller (the canary ready to sing) that he is very interested in knowing where Macario is!

Fausto arrives at the restaurant to make Amparo an offer for the property. Since she has having so many problems, she should at least hear his offer.

At the jail, Ursula tells Memo that she would like to take care of Martín by herself. Memo quickly shatters that illusion with a flat “no”; that will not happen until he is sure his son won’t be in danger. Ursula concedes…she just wants to do what’s best for everyone (yeah, sure). Almost as an afterthought, she then tells him Sandra was looking for him and he runs forward to the front of the cell asking what she said. Ursula shrugs and mutters all she said was that she needed to talk to him. As she leaves, he shakes the bars in frustration.

Fausto tells Amparo it’s a good offer…and he just wants to help them because after all they are Isabela’s family and she would appreciate him helping them. Amparo thoughtfully wonders if that is why he locked up Memo. Fausto tells her that his daughter convinced him to drop the charges…and if he leaves content, he will immediately make sure Memo is released. Privacy is a non-issue apparently as he knows how much she owes the hospital. As soon as she signs, he will transfer the money. A seemingly vanquished Amparo tells him he wins…she can’t stand seeing her loved ones in this situation. She brokenly cries that she will sell the land where she has seen her children grow up. Fausto is unmoved, mocking that she is going to make him cry. Amparo tells Fausto that he doesn’t know what she is talking about because he never valued his family. For the love she has for her family, she will sign the filthy paper! He leaves as Amparo’s face crumples in agony.

Eugenio arrives at Yolanda’s, thanking her for telling him where Macario is. Sitting in a chair stuffing his face, Macario is not happy to see him!

Fausto tells Memo that Isabela convinced him to come; she told him Memo would apologize. Fausto wants Memo to convince him that he is sorry for stealing from him and beating him…that’s the only way he will drop the charges! Memo’s eyes are steely, his face impassive.

Fausto stares, waiting. Memo swallows his bile and sincerely apologizes for hitting him because his daughter saw him do it; he offers the apology in the name of the love he has for his daughter. Fausto isn’t sorry…he owes it to Memo. Because of that, now he can convince the judge not to give Memo custody of Isabela. He accepts the apology…and by the way, he had already dropped the charges and Memo will soon be out of there. As he leaves, we see Memo behind the bars, standing like a statue.

Camino #87 Part 4

Eugenio berates Macario for swindling him and selling the same property to both Fausto and him. He wants every peso of the advance or he will send him to prison for fraud! Eugenio asks if it’s true that he already signed over the deed. Max stutters yes. Yolanda, standing behind Eugenio during the entire exchange, snarls that she called Eugenio so that this shameless one can pay everything he owes!

A secretary tells Karen that the auditor is there…and she received an (unaddressed) envelope for Karen. Karen asks Quesasa if he finished the audit. Quesada tells Karen that things are worse than they thought…and he needs more time to double check some things. Karen asks how much more time because this is urgent. Several hours Quesada replies. Karen reminds him that he is not to mention anything about this to her father. She sets the envelope aside.

Eugenio tells Macario that he is not going to act against him. For now. The rationale is that he doesn’t want to cause Amparo’s girls any more pain. When Macario asks what happened to them, Eugenio can’t believe Macario has no knowledge of what has transpired! He then tells Macario about the car accident and Gaby’s bruising injuries. Gaby was driving and was held accountable so she is in jail!

Humberto and Lola hug warmly. He is happy he is going home and Lola is happy for him. She reminds him that once home, he can’t overexert himself and he must follow his doctor‘s orders to the letter…no working or over worrying. Humberto agrees. Amparo arrives and smilingly tells him she is happy that he is leaving the hospital; everyone has missed him. When Humberto asks how she paid the medical costs, she tells him not to worry about that; the important thing is that he’s better and they can take him home.

Karen is in Sebastian’s room, torturing and mocking him. She taunts him he loves nature so much and now look at him - he’s like a plant! Lupita comes in and Karen digs the knife in deeper, telling Lupita that she has no idea how happy she is that her sister is in prison for having killed her brother. Lupita argues that Gaby didn’t kill anyone, Sebastian is alive! Karen retorts that is not true; her brother is no longer in that useless body that breathes only hooked up to a respirator! If she were Lupita, she’d start saying her goodbyes. She should let him go because sooner or later her father will realize that the best thing to do is disconnect him. Lupita cries “Come back, my love. I can’t live without you; don’t leave me.” She cries and puts her head on his chest grasping his arm in tears.

Macario admonishes Yolanda for having called Mr. Uptight. She wanted him to know how terrible it feels to have the person who loves you the most want to kill you. What she did is nothing compared to what he did. Macario snarls that he is capable of sending her to the other world. Yolanda retorts that he should remember that they are alike, but he snidely yells she doesn’t even come close to him (true enough). After he tells her that she is dumb, she sneers that this dummy is going to send him to the streets! Largate! She is fired up and warns him that if he comes back, she’ll call the police and tell them everything he has done. He grabs her and roughly throws her on the ground, telling her she was never enough for him; that is why he preferred Amparo who is a true filly. You are disgraceful she spits out. Ain’t love grand??

Camino #87 Part 5

Amparo visits Gaby, mother and daughter holding hands. She tells Gaby that her grandfather is home and she has gotten money to hire a good lawyer who can get her released. Lupita will also help using the knowledge she has amassed. Gaby tells her it will be too costly but Amparo doesn’t care; all she wants is Gaby out of there. Gaby assures her that she isn’t doing too badly; she’s even working in the clinic. She is studying nursing and when she gets out she wants to pursue a degree in rehabilitation. She’s looking for a way to help JuanPa; if she destroyed his dreams then she wants to help him find a new life.

Ursula tells Fausto that “Sandra” came around looking for Memo. Fausto’s hackles are up and barks “what did she say?” Ursula replies “nothing” but she thought it was odd because the woman looked desperate to talk to Memo. She asks if Fausto knows her, but Fausto only wants to know if Sandra left any information to indicate where she can be found. “No” replies Ursula, she only said she would be back later. Fausto orders Ursula to not allow that woman to talk to Memo and if she returns and she should call him immediately! He throws down some bills and stalks off.

Memo is free! He arrives home and takes Martin (now with a full head of hair bless him) in his arms. Nelida thanks God that Memo is home and Memo tells his son how happy he is to have him in his arms. He thanks her for taking such good care of Martin. She is happy to help as she considers herself part of the family. When he asks for Ursula, Nelida casts her eyes downward (leaving no doubt of her feelings), and says she has no idea. She leaves without caring how the baby is. When Memo asks how Martín is, Nelida thinks he sleeps too much though he has been better these last few days. She has noticed that when Ursula is near, the baby tends to get sick, maybe he feels his mother’s rejection. Memo assures Martín that all will be well; as long as Memo has him in his arms, nothing bad will happen. Viewerville shares a collective shiver.

Skipped scene (courtesy of Rgv Chick) While working in the infirmary, Carol (an inmate) complains that her amputated leg hurts a great deal. Gaby states she has been studying and understands people who lose a limb tend to experience “ghost pain.” Gaby continues to explain exactly how it is that Carol can still feel pain. The nurse compliments Gaby and tells her she has never had such a good assistant. Gaby explains why she wants to pursue nursing. She wants to help JuanPa. She says he must be feeling the same type of pain that Carol is feeling.

JuanPa is dressed but still in bed! The doctor gives JuanPa a prescription for meds in case he experiences pain. Later the doctor will let him know how often he will need to go to therapy. She will also provide some info on prosthetics. JuanPa coldly tells Ana Maria that if she wants to help him, she should leave him alone. After she gives him some encouraging advice, he doesn’t think anything or anyone can make him feel better. She tells him she will see him at her office; and he will also meet with his physical therapist. JP doesn’t want to go so Ana Maria tells him it will be his decision. He wipes away a tear or two.

Camino #87 Part 6

The non-incarcerated members of the Santos family gather to celebrate Memo’s return. Memo lovingly tells his family that he appreciates all they have done while he was gone. Problems are part of life needing to be confronted and what better way to do it than with family. He thanks Amparo for everything she has done…she has looked after everyone and she is the perfect example of a woman who gives all for her family. Amparo silently thinks to herself that if they only knew what she did to have the family sitting here today. Daniela, dressed head to toe in bright orange, thanks everyone for allowing her and Isabela to be part of their family. Humberto gives a toast and they clink glasses and end with a rousing chant of Santos!

Gaby has a visitor. It’s Macario, invitation to the family gathering obviously lost in the mail. Gaby stares stupefied.

Memo and Daniela huddle together, their happiness to be in each other’s presence obvious to all. He tells Daniela about Sandra going to look for him, but she didn’t leave any information as to where they might find her. Then, an attorney shows up with a folder and tells Daniela she is officially divorced. Daniela jumps for joy and she and Memo lovingly embrace.

Macario tells Gaby that it pains him to see her there; life is so unfair. When Gaby wonders if he really cares, Macario assures her that he does. Gaby tells him that he has no idea how ashamed she is to have a father like him. He always lied to them and had another family; how could he do that to them? His “preciosa” falls flat as tears stream down her cheeks.

Daniela and Memo excitedly talk about the future, their future. Daniela is thrilled she is finally free! Memo tells her that now, they can get married! Daniela cannot wait to be his wife and form the family they have wanted together. They laugh, cry and kiss enveloping each other in a loving, tight embrace. They are blissfully unaware of what is transpiring around them and do not see Ursula’s angry countenance glaring at them through the kitchen window.

Lupita is giving Sebastian’s chest a sponge bath, telling her penguinito how much she loves him. The nurse encourages her to talk to him, she believes the patients hear them and can feel the physical contact. Lupita tells him she knows she is listening as she writes an imaginary “Te amo” in fluorescent pink letters. Eugenio silently takes this in, watching from the doorway.

Camino #87 Part 7 (Last)

Karen is shocked that millions of dollars have been stolen! Quesada explains that everything is in Aaron’s name, but now everything will go to someone else…he suspects Fausto! Karen reiterates that he is to say nothing to anyone. Karen then hisses that now, she has Fausto’s fate in her hands. If he betrays her, she will ruin him! She hides the report and then picks up and opens the unaddressed envelope revealing a usb.

Our collective hearts plummet as we see Ursula with Martin’s bottle. She has the bottle dropper and liberally adds far too many drops into the bottle. She says that Martin will have to pay the price; she will use him to get what she wants. As long as Martin is sick, his father will never abandon them. He will be so worried that he will even forget his plans to marry the lizard! And with that, the evil harridan reconsiders and adds even more drops into the formula! She puts the cap on and shakes the bottle.

Karen inserts the usb and Aaron is sending her a message. He says that if Karen is watching this, someone ended his life. He wants to take the blindfold from her eyes; she is obsessed with Fausto and he doesn’t deserve her. Fausto has hurt her and she doesn’t know it. Fausto ordered him to “fix” the helicopter resulting in the death of Fausto’s parents and her mother!

Karen confronts Fausto with the truth that he tampered with her father’s helicopter; he killed his parents and her mother. He is a murderer!

Thank you Diana for this wonderful recap and for all your hard work and compassionately written recaps throughout. You capture the heart and soul of the manner in everything that you write and it's always a treat to read! I wish I had more time to write this morning but the Wednesday mornings are always a rush since I have to actually do into the office instead of just work from home. Today the boss and the boss's boss are in town so I even have to get dressed professionally and look presentable. lol

I am ready for some winning and tired of the losing so the bright spots are: Dani manages to keep Isa at least for the moment, and Yo finally kicked Mac to the curb - too bad he kicked back!!! BOO!

I hope Amparo's 'I got you a really good lawyer' means they are actually going to check the car for malfunctioning breaks because it worries me that they haven't been talking about it!!! This is novelaland so I know it's possible to be tried and convicting without any sort of actual investigation but this is ultimate capitulos so surely they will check?? Right??? Yeah, I'm doubting it too....

As for Ursa and Karen, I've run out of ways to say how awful they are I just can't wait to watch as their anvils fall hard on their heads!!! Horrid, but the acting is fantastic!!!

Well, off to work. Hope everyone has a fantastic day!

Camino #87

Gracias, amigas, for this and all the work you've done providing these excellent recaps.

We're in a very dark place and I fear for Memo's children. With regard to Ursula can anyone recall a novela in which a mother killed her own child? The only one I can think of is Cuna de Lobos but the plane crash was intended to kill the stepson. Still supremely evil.

It's time for Sebastian to wake up.

Sandra has to live long enough to deliver that tablet to Memo.

How is Amparo going to get her property back?

Humberto needs the wake-up call about Leonardo.

Whatever money is missing from the company is in Aaron's house. That looks more like a mansion than the houses of at least two of the rich families in Perdona.

Camino

Thank you for your (always) uplifting, kind words...

"Dani manages to keep Isa at least for the moment, and Yo finally kicked Mac to the curb - too bad he kicked back!!! BOO!" had me smiling away! Who knew rats had as many lives as cats??

We can only hope that someone, anyone is going to check the breaks on the car. Well, we don't have long to wait...

I have great pity for those who are truly mentally ill. The lines blur though when evil is also present. This is the case for Ursula who has both demons swirling in her head. But yes there is nothing more evil than a mother seeking deliberate harm to her child. And what makes this so heinous is that it is a baby, utterly defenseless.

Good luck at work! I remember those days all too well :)

Diana

Camino

Thank you so much Urban!

Fortunately, I can't think of any TN where a mother killed her child. I am certain thankfully that won't happen here.

I'm hoping tonight will be the night that Prince Sebastian is awoken from his slumber by Princess Lupita.

Although Karen called Fausto a murderer, was she condemning, just processing or perhaps, uncaring?? We will find out tonight.

Diana

Camino

Thanks, Diana, for this and all your wonderful recaps. And thanks to Rgv Chick for filling in those missing scenes. I can’t wait for our Fearsome Four to get what’s coming to them.

We have a few more episodes and they add a new twist. Aaron and Fausto have been stealing from the company.

I’m sure Amparo will get her land back but it was heartbreaking to see her sign over the land to Fausto. Her words didn’t even register with him, he’s never known true love, where you sacrifice for your family. Karen is another cold blooded one. I couldn’t believe what she said to Sebastian, not a very loving sister. So her anger at Gaby was just an act to get her thrown in jail. I hope Sebastian wakes up and remembers what she said. He may be the one who will remember the brakes.

I guess Yolanda had her wake up call but I wonder if we’ll ever see Grace again? Eugenio should have had Macario put in jail. He doesn’t realize how bad he really is.

That baby is going to be another one in a coma. Does that make 4? Ursula is criminally insane. At least this should catch up with her. Whatever drug she’s using should be discovered by doctors

And we end with Karen knowing Fausto killed her parents. She showed more anger toward her father over her mother’s death.

Thanks again, Diana. I have so enjoyed your recaps.

Liz

Camino

Thank you for your kind words Liz.

Yes, the "Fearsome Four" will soon face justice though I'm still not sure of what form that will take other than Fausto dying.

Good point about the possibility Sebastian might remember what Karen said. Get a bucket of cold water - whatever it takes, just wake him up! :)

I think Grace will return and perhaps (hopefully) somehow help salvage this mess. I can't see her NOT knowing what happened, especially to JuanPa!

I am praying somehow Ursula's latest plan is thwarted! I can't standing crimes against children...

And yes Karen "showed more anger toward her father over her mother’s death". Will it make any difference to her???

Off to do some errands, the sun is (sort of) shining.

Diana, I cannot thank you enough for all the hard work and dedication you generously give to keep the conversations going and provide such exquisite recaps--each one filled with eloquence, compassion for the good and (deserved) contempt for the bad. I am the one who is in awe of your ability to describe emotions, expressions, and actions with such finesse; you always find the perfect words to convey all that transpires; your command of language is outstanding.

Darcy, after all the evil schemes and seeing our good guys suffer the consequences, I too am more than ready for those tables to start turning. And it frustrates the heck out of me that no one recalls Gaby saying that the brakes didn't work! We've never seen Gaby meet with a lawyer, but surely she has talked to one...even a public defender which the courts should have assigned by now.

Urban, nopis, can't think of any novela where a mother has killed her own baby. But then, there a lot of "firsts" for me with this story. I've never seen so many evil antagonists working against the main couple; and I had never seen children manipulated and used as part of evil schemes as much as I have seen here.

Liz, "And we end with Karen knowing Fausto killed her parents. She showed more anger toward her father over her mother’s death." Great observation! It's hard to say how she will react; I have the same question as Diana, "was she condemning, just processing or perhaps, uncaring??"

There is so much yet to be resolved. The next and last episodes will whiz by so buckle your seat(couch) belts, tighten those beanies and get ready for more tears, anger, frustration, and hopeofully, after all of that, some HEAs!

Camino #87

What doesn't make sense about Karen is the notion that she loved her mother. We now know that the helicopter crash happened about five years ago so Karen didn't lack for a mother during the "formative" years. How can she love her mother and hate her little brother?

The only reason I can think of for Grace to return is if she wins the lottery and can throw that into Macario's face or if Macario dies so she can spit on his corpse.

We don't know what that drug is that Ursula is putting into the bottle. Some drugs don't just show up spontaneously and have to be searched for. I hope these writers know that.

Only five episodes left and nothing has been said about the brakes. That is what I'm most angry about.

Perdona Fans: This recap is taking a long time because of the police interrogation scene. Have no fear; it should be up within the hour.

Camino

Dear Diana, thank you for this last excellent recap and for all the other recaps you gave us . I hope that you know how much I looked forward to them and how much I appreciated your time, talent, and effort.

It seems that Yo has finally seen the real Rat Mac. Finally .

What is Mac doing visiting Gaby in prison ? Could he really care about her ? Hard to believe .

Ursula is caught in insanity and evil intent. This is the first telenovela i watched that put a tiny baby in jeopardy at the hands of his own mother .

I think that what is overwhelming me is the number of evildoers in this show and that the writers keep throwing more evil into this boiling pot of angst and woe.

Well, at !east Memo is out of jail . Now we need someone to realize what Ursula is doing to Martin .
?
Gaby is using her time in prison in a positive way . Thankfully she has a kind cell mate and is not being harassed. I am sure that she will be a big help to bitter JP when she is released and he will forgive her. I think they will get a HEA as she helps him to rehabilitate.

I am sure that the Santos family will somehow cling together and survive . Life is about picking up broken pieces and going onward as best we can.

Seb has to wake up, and he and the faithful Lupita must get a HEA.

I am ready for the villains to start eliminating each other. I wonder what spark will start a chain reaction to unleash the anvils. Ursula and Mac are both loose canons , but Ursula is the one who is completely unhinged , wheras Mac is just about his greed For easy money.

OT...I am looking forward to " El Amor Invencible ." I watched a video of a press conference with all the actors . Seeing tiny Angela Boyer seated between Daniel and Danilo makes me think that these three will be interesting to watch interact.

Some Truth and More Lies: Dialogue as Needed Edition
Part 1 of 5

Aurora protested Angela's summons, Gerardo said she needed rest, but Fuentes won and took her to the Ministerio Publico. Alone.

Lamberto told Silvia not to go back to the nearby room where she thought she saw Estela, whom he was sure was still in the cuckoo's nest. Silvia knocked on the door but Estela didn't open it or say anything. Lamberto told Silvia she must be confused.

Fuentes implied that Angela could count on him as he put his hand on her thigh. She flinched. He had drugged her on the one night he had demanded of her. This led to her being in the hospital. He implied that she had no recourse for that, emphasizing the statement by play-stabbing her with his car key.

Silvia went to Hector to ask about Estela. He admitted it and explained what was done to her in the manicomio. He emphasized that absolute secrecy was necessary as Estela's life was in danger. When Lamberto came into the room he did not share any of this with him.

Fuentes took Angela to the Ministerio Publico. Gerardo and Aurora arrived separately and were waiting. While waiting to be called Angela told Aurora to tell the police that Andres tried to rape her. Gerardo told her that this is a felony and lying is also a crime. Angela said she is sick of her family not believing her [This is truly beyond the pale]. Fuentes called Angela in first.

Renzo told Armando about his meeting with Doña Olivia, adding that she had refused to do as asked. He said he would look for someone else, maybe from Alcocer. Armando said no to this and asked for the woman's address so he could talk to her personally. Renzo gave it to him.

Aurora called Lamberto who told her to tell the truth, as perjury is a serious crime. He told her he was coming.

Elena went into Elsa's room with a laundry basket of clean clothes. Elsa mockingly thanked her. Of course it wasn't Elena who actually did the laundry. As Elena fingered the keys the cell phone buzzed. Elena took it out of the door and mocked Elsa again. She demanded to know where Elsa got it; Elsa told her she had bought it. “Do you think I'm a fool? You have this to communicate with Andres.” Elena asked. Elsa protested and tried to get it back, but Elena held it back behind her head. “Of course not. I am not your accomplice and I never will be. You will never speak with Andres again.” “Why don't you understand? [Next line unintelligible]'” “Don't try to involve Gerardo in this...stupidity,” said Elena with disgust. “Elena, we're sisters. Why do you hate me so much? What did I do to you?” “You exist,” Elena said. [This may be her most honest statement so far.] Elsa asked for the phone back and Elena said “The most I can do for you is not tell my father where I found this. You'd be locked up for life.” She then pocketed the phone and flung the contents of the laundry basket toward the rear wall before leaving with a smirk.

After speaking with Lamberto called Andres to get him to come over to the hotel; it was urgent. Silvia warned Andres that Angela was at the Ministerio Publico, possibly lying about what happened. The disagreed over this, as usual.

Of course Angela lied with a bonus of crocodile tears. Fuentes then asked “Were you absolutely sure that Andres Martinez intended to rape your daughter?” Two seconds later Angela said Andres was trying to rip Aurora's clothes off. “I was out of control, only thinking of my daughter.” She looked down, not seeing Fuentes' face which indicated he was suspicious.

Fuentes then questioned Aurora, also in the presence of the Ministerio. She was crying and he told her she can't remain silent. She told them that Andres came to the house to talk to Lamberto. They got into an argument. “Why did you argue?”

Lamberto was questioned next. “I came home to find Andres with a chest wound lying on the living room carpet. Angela was standing in front of him.” “What was Aurora doing?” “Aurora was nearby in shock, nervous.” “What did Andres say?” “Andres said Angela stabbed him. Angela began screaming he had looked for him.” Fuentes looked genuinely confused when he asked “No more than that?” “Yes. I asked Aurora to get towels to help stop the bleeding and she did so.” “What did you do after that?” “I intended to call an ambulance but Angela objected. [Next line unclear] I called my son to take care of this. Andres lost consciousness.”

Gerardo said “My father called me to come over to his house for an emergency. When I got there he told me what happened. We took Andres to my sister's room. Fortunately the wound wasn't as serious and I treated Andres.” “Your mother was there?” “Briefly, then she left the room.” “They said nothing?” “Not at that moment but later she said she stabbed him because he tried to rape Aurora.” “Did your sister confirm that?” “At that moment she said nothing.”

Lamberto said that he knew Andres since he was a baby. “He's a good guy. He's incapable of hurting Aurora.” “Knowing someone since infancy is no guarantee that he's incapable of something like this.” “Andres is my son.” Fuentes looked shocked. He then questioned Angela again. “So Andres Martinez is the half-brother to Aurora?” “Lamentably, yes.” “In view of that why would he try to hurt her?” “I don't know. Maybe because he was never recognized. I don't know. That's how poor people are. Because Andres is nothing more than a bastard trying to sully the honor of the family that he couldn't have.” She got up. “Do your job any put him in prison. I didn't want to stab him.”

Fuentes went back to questioning Aurora. “Your testimony is crucial. Do you understand?” She nodded. “What was Andres Martinez doing that night when your mother stabbed him? Answer!” She hesitated as she continued to cry. “I need to know the truth. It's urgent. When you talk look me in thh eyes!” She looked up and he repeated the question. She said “He got me into a submissive position and ordered me to take off my clothes.” She cried harder.

Armando went to see Olivia Sanchez. She refused his offer. She did not want his money and suggested he not waste his time. He said that what he didn't have was time. He did not argue and left. Olivia's daughter asked why she refused this opportunity. “That's Armando Quiroga, the richest man in San Juan!” “That's why. His soul is sick; he is not a good person.”

Andres tried calling Elsa and Elena answered. He ended the call immediately and then his phone rang. It was Fuentes telling him to come to the MP. Silvia said she would go , too.

Hector tried to calm Estela down. She was losing her mind being restricted to her room. Hector pointed out that Silvia and Lamberto were there and Andres was also having problems caused by Armando. She was there, she had him, and she was there to recover. She had only to ask. She asked him write a letter to her sister so she would know what was happening. Elsa had promised to see her and thus far had not. She was worried. She wrote down her sister's email address. He said he would take care of it. He would help her. [I would recommend he start by getting her some clothes, a computer, and the internet.]

Part 3 of 5

Lamberto found out that Aurora lied and got on Angela's case about it. Silvia and Andres arrived and it got uglier. Angela ranting that Andres would pay and grinning at the prospect of him going to prison.

Flor brought Elsa's lunch to her room, saying that Armando was taking Domingo to therapy. Elsa quickly told her about Elena finding the phone. Elsa made Flor leave and lock the door behind herself.

Armando called Renzo and sent him back to Olivia Sanchez. He told him that the daughter's attitude differed. He was to bring them to his place. Renzo agreed.

Andres told Fuentes what he had told the Ministerio Publico. Events were exactly as it happened He told Fuentes about his history with the Monteros. It had all gone south when Lamberto revealed that he was Andres' sperm donor.

He did walk out with Silvia. Both were confident that Fuentes and the MP were doing their jobs.

Gerardo took his mother and sister home He told his mother that he needed to rest and should not be much on her feet. In her usual manner she blamed everything on Andres and Silvia. “How does he hae the nerve to denounce me?” [That's rich.] She called Silvia an ingrate. [Talk about entitlement]. Gerardo told her to rest and asked Aurora to pick up her meds. Aurora said that tomorrow was her wedding day and she still had things to do. She declined Gerardo's offer of help and suggested that Rocio could go to the pharmacy and do other stuff. Angela didn't want that “She's a servant and you're my daughter. I need you!” Aurora told her “I need to think of myself and it pleases me that for one minute you can shine!” Angela pulled the Poor Little Me act saying “Don't tell me that. Why do you want to make me feel bad?” [Maybe because you are?] She went on but Aurora didn't let her get far. She didn't want to be in the house among all those problems and she took off.

Angela tried calling her back and Gerardo said “What do you expect? You obligated her to lie. That could be on her conscience for the rest of her life! I don't know how you can go on living because Andres could go to prison for who knows how many years.” “That's the least he deserves. He deserves more.” “For what? For being my father's son?” He was mentally shaking his head. “I will send Rocio to the pharmacy. You go upstairs and rest and no alcohol!” He walked away. She looked miserable.

Renzo told Olivia that Armando never hears the word No. Further, that he would pay well. Olivia shrugged.

Aurora went to the hotel and found Carlos drinking with his friends. He and his friends were going out for his bachelor party. She told him to behave and no other women. “I only have eyes for you” he said. Horacio volunteered to help Aurora get her things to her room. [Carlos, watch out here!]

Horacio carried Aurora's suitcase to her room and asked if she passed the night with Carlos. She told him she didn't have to answer because it was none of his business. He thought it was because of what happened between them the other night. “What game are you playing?” She said “Nothing. What happened then was the product of alcohol and it will never be repeated. Okay?” He answered “Okay,” but he didn't look like he took this seriously. “And what happens to those feelings we had? They wo't go away so fast. What do we do?” “Nothing. It would be better to forget about this because tomorrow I am marrying your brother.” Horacio was not giving up no matter what else she said.

Andres went to the Quiroga house to see Elsa. Flor explained that she was locked in her room and tried to get him to leave. Elena had heard the doorbell. She entered and told him no one was allowed to see Elsa, especially him. She ordered him to leave through the servants' door. He refused to leave without seeing Elsa. “My father ordered that she remain locked up,” Elena said. She grinned while saying “You will never see her again.” The grin deflated when Andres told her that Elsa was pregnant. “...and you are married to my half-brother.” “And do you think that matters to me?” she asked. “That changes nothing. It would be better for you to get out of here before I call the police,” One question later she said “Your child will never be my nephew. Understand that Elsa doesn't belong in your world. If you want to take advantage of this again look for someone else because your engagement to her has run out of time.” He shouted for Elsa and Elena stopped him leaving the foyer. “If you don't leave my father will know you were here. And you will pay the consequences worse than Elsa.” She smirked. He looked at Flor who nodded with a sad expression. She closed the door behind him when he left. Elena asked why she let him in and Flor answered that she couldn't prevent him.

Elsa pounded on the door and Elena came in to taunt her again, reminding her that if she had not been involved with Andres none of this would be happening. She smirked, saying she could not believe that Elsa would have sex with him. Or that she was going to have his baby. When Elsa asked why she was so cruel she said “Don't play the victim. ¡Por favor!” and left the room.

Elena went straight into Armando's study to find him at his computer. [Note that he never scolds her for entering his study without knocking.] She told him about Andres' attempt to see Elsa and mentioned the pregnancy. “Why didn't you tell me, Daddy? You don't trust me?” Armando looked momentarily at a loss for words. He finally said that it was a “delicate matter”. She looked disappointed when she conceded and again said that if he needed her help to ask. He thanked her and she left his study. He looked weary at this point.

Carlos and Horacio were out drinking with their compadres. Horacio didn't look happy at all.

Armando told Renzo to leave the room, then talked with Olivia in the kitchen. He threw a stack of bills on the table, the half payment. She would receive the rest after finishing the job. She asked how far along Elsa was; Armando did not know but “It can't have been long.” [He has five children shouldn't he know to ask about things like this?} Olivia asked if Elsa was in agreement. He said that was the least important thing. She asked to see Elsa and he said Yes, but to remember that once this was over she was to forget him and his daughter and that ended with an implied threat for non-compliance. She pocketed the money and he directed her to follow him. Flor eavesdropped from outside and kept hiding. Armando brought Olivia up to Elsa's room.

Some Truth and More Lies: Dialogue as Needed Edition
Part 5 of 5

Elsa asked who this woman was and Armando told her. Elsa protested, telling Olivia she wanted her baby. She said she was only going to examine her. Olivia said to Armando she could not do anything since the girl didn't want this. Armando communicated to Elsa that if she wanted the consequences of her actions he would throw her out. [That's the opportunity of a lifetime, Elsa!] She continued to protest as Olivia approached the bed with Armando watching.

Angela drank from her flask and was caught by the maid. She would not stop. Rociio left the dinner tray. After she left the room Angela looked out the window and saw Fuentes in his car staring at the window. She shouted for Rocio and told her to lock all the doors and windows and close all the curtains. She had her look out the window to confirm that someone was watching.

Olivia told Armando it was done. She had given Elsa a drug that would work by early morning. She had not drunk anything. This should be over by one [not sure about that line. He said alright and called for Flor to escort Olivia out [Through the servants' door por supuesto] just as Angela called him to tell him about Fuentes. She was panicking, saying that Fuentes was obsessed with her. Armando said he would send his men over. She asked if he would come and he told her No in no uncertain terms. She started to say something when Rocio came into her room to tell her that the car was no longer there. She looked out the window again and Fuentes was gone. He told her to get some rest and ended the call.

Flor knocked and he said to enter. She asked what he was going to do with Elsa. He said “Nothing. I solved the problem she made.” Flor almost begged him to be compassionate because “Elsa is expecting your first grandchild.” In the manner of all the other classists he said “No, no, no. A child of Andres Martinez won't be my grandchild. Ever.” He warned her again about spilling the beans and finished with “This child will never be born.”

Perdona #20

This was a tough one because the original broadcast was speeded up. I guess commercial breaks are shorter in Mexico.

Giving credit where it's due Fuentes is an excellent interrogator. He watches suspects and witnesses looking for weakness and has a good memory. I am also thinking that his actions toward Angela this time might be more about getting her for the attempted murder than getting her back into the sack. Necrophilia fetishes are a subject that I can't recall any previous novela taking on.

Aurora is definitely looking at a jailbreak marriage. Is this going to be a boda interrumpida?

Correct me if I was wrong about the abortion scenes. Based on past dialogue I have the impression that Elsa is in her fourth month. From 14 to 16 weeks the standard procedure is dilation and evacuation, which Olivia doesn't possess the equipment for. We did not see what happened after Armando left her alone with Elsa, but if she did nothing or if an oral abortifacient doesn't work we will find out soon enough.

Angela will probably end up in hospital because of the alcohol and meds combination.

I am humbled but so appreciative of your lovely words Rgv Chick. One's voice may want to soar but cannot sing without words. This is what you, in your infinite generosity, have given me.

"We've never seen Gaby meet with a lawyer, but surely she has talked to one...even a public defender which the courts should have assigned by now". Yes!! I am heartened though that Gaby is getting a practicum (such as it is) in jail...She seems glad to have found her way and now she just needs to find her way out.

"The next and last episodes will whiz by so buckle your seat(couch) belts, tighten those beanies and get ready for more tears, anger, frustration, and hopeofully, after all of that, some HEAs!" I'm in!! Especially for the HEAs. I'm a sucker for happy endings.

Thank you sweet Susanlynn. I am so happy you enjoyed all of our recaps. You are always a bright (and wise) light.

"What is Mac doing visiting Gaby in prison ? Could he really care about her ? Hard to believe ." It is and I think Macario might care, but only as much as he is capable of which is frankly, very little. Trying to sell Ursula's baby proves he is a monster, granted in a bumbling package and a non-devoted father to three loving, wonderful children.

I am not much of a JuanPa fan. All these months, stewing and feeling sorry for himself? I don't ever see him releasing all of his resentment against Gaby, even when everything (hopefully) comes out. But, I'm sure, together they will be.

"Life is about picking up broken pieces and going onward as best we can". And so it is, so it is.

Urban, thank you for another great retelling of everything that happened as this story grinds onward.

Hector is a hero for freeing Estela from that awful place and those terrifying shock treatments , but , hey, she needs clothing and at least a tablet and something to read !!!

I think Elsa somehow did not actually drink what was given to her, or perhaps the woman just lied to Armando whom she obviously thinks is a bad person . Elsa needs to get out of that room .

Does Angela always wear pajamas, or do all her clothes just look like easy, breezy pjs? She is a hot mess who has met her match with creepy, unkempt Fuentes. Being in the middle of these two awful men is going to be her undoing if the alcohol doesn't get her first. Sucks to be you, Ang.

PERDONA

Thank you, Urban. I so enjoyed the recap and your comments,

You know, I feel like I repeat myself so much in my comments but sometimes there is no where else to go. So, today I will say that “Perdona” reminds me of “La herencia.” Both are tacky tales that are at the same level of a trashy beach novel and as are such so mesmerizing in the worst possible but entertaining ways. I can't wait until tonight!

Urban, I agree that Elsa did miss “the opportunity if a lifetime” of being thrown out of the house.

I have a feeling that Olivia is at the same level as the abortionist in “Vencer el desamor” that Gemma ultimately rejected after being offered some herbal concoction to help with the pain. It was made clear that Olivia had not done abortions in a while so I wouldn’t expect any modern or safe method of doing it from her. Women have been doing abortions for millennia the “old fashioned way.” Lotsa’ luck with that.

I loved Fuentes’ driving Angela crazy.

Susanlynn, good comment about Angela and her pj look.

PERDONA

ONE MORE THING: Estela has sister!!!!! Maybe Estela will have an ally that Armando cannot control !

Perdona #20

I think the booze might do her in. Like most alcoholics she doesn't want to stop drinking. It is horrible that her children are being affected by this. If Aurora isn't careful she could end up going down the same long and winding road.

Angela probably only cares about how she looks in public. What I find surprising is the lack of servants' gossip.

If Elsa didn't drink whatever Olivia spiked that wouldn't surprise me. She is pretty smart. Too bad she didn't put the phone on airplane mode. Elena finding it was inevitable.

Elena is a monster. I wish Elsa could have caught that scene on her cell. Gerardo has to get out of that marriage which is hardly a marriage. Maybe it's just as well that Elena hates sex; people like her shouldn't breed.

Perdona

Jarifa, yes, I can't wait to meet Estela's sister . I hope she is a good force who can help fight Armanda and not another evil person.

PERDONA

“. . . people like her shouldn’t breed.” ITA

Thanks, Urban, that was great! I can’t believe the things I don’t get. I thought Olivia had just checked her and was coming back in the morning to do it. This whole episode was a disappointment in things that happened. Armando making a woman abort the baby Elsa wanted is beyond cruel, and has got to be against the law!

You did an excellent job on the interrogation scenes I revisited them all over again. You have to wonder what Fuentes thinks as Angela talks about Andres being poor and a bastard. I would say he’s in the same class as an honest cop, which puts him at a higher level and Fuentes.

Elena is definitely following in her father’s footsteps. To be so cruel to Elsa just because she exists. And she delights in Elsa’s troubles.

I agree that Estela needs some clothes and something to do. Part of me thinks Lamberto could be a help, especially since he lives in the hotel. And we know he’s capable of keeping secrets.
I had hoped Aurora would be truthful but that was not to be. Her brother and father both know she’s lying but seem to be going along with it.

Anxious for tonight!

Great job, Diana. These last episodes of heartache and the evil guys winning have been tough to watch, but your recaps always shine. They're a joy to read. Things are grim, but yet again you made me laugh, with "The non-incarcerated members of the Santos family gather..."

Loved seeing Chema and Isa happy together again, but oh my Chema needs to turn down the volume.

Karen is taking delight in being cruel to Lupita. If somewhere in his consciousness Sebas can hear Karen, he must be hurt to know his sister is a piece of %$#*@.

I'm guessing Fausto ordering a hit on his own dad and Karen's mom getting killed as collateral damage are not a deal breaker for Karen. I think Fausto's evil is a turn-on for this sicko.

Somebody please get that Ursula-tampered bottle away from the baby. Viewerville has taken all it can of this storyline.

Camino

Thanks so much Niecie!! I am happiest when I hear that I've made someone laugh. Or smile.

I'm guessing Sebastian is hearing just what he should. Karen is such a horrible human being and agree with you that I don't think she will be put off by Fausto murdering her mother. I still cannot figure out her end game...

"Ursula tampered bottle" Love it.

Well, it least it didn't happen when I posted the recap...little things to be grateful for.

Thanks, Urban. ITA Fuentes is a good interrogator. Too bad he turned out to be a sicko. I can't tell what he will do with Angela. Will he try to bargain with her, with Andres winding up on the losing end?

I'm sure Elsa did not cooperate with whatever Olivia Sanchez tried to do. Susanlynn, I agree Olivia is likely lying to Armando.

"His soul [Armando's] is sick; he is not a good person.”

Interesting that Olivia knows this. I'm wondering how much we'll find out about Armando's past.

Urban, the action is occurring at breakneck speed yet you managed to capture everything. An excellent recap of a very, very depressing episode.

"Armando communicated to Elsa that if she wanted the consequences of her actions he would throw her out. [That's the opportunity of a lifetime, Elsa!]" said it all.

Thank you for adding "We did not see what happened after Armando left her alone with Elsa, but if she did nothing or if an oral abortifacient doesn't work we will find out soon enough". I am now wondering if Olivia lied to Armando?? As you noted, we will shortly see.

Aurora doesn't seem to care about either brother - the one she's marrying or the one she's flirting with. I think they both should show her the door. Regardless, I don't know how she managed to lie about Andres. Her mother is a heartless shrew who doesn't care about her at all. Why is she protecting her?

Is Hector going to move Estela? She is no longer safe there.

Elena is frigid and has no soul. How can you hate a sister who has never done anything to you?

Diana

Niecie, ha.....I agree about Chema's voice . I actually did have to turn down the volume while he was speaking to Isa.

Perdona #20

We already know that Armando himself originally came from poverty. His mother worked in the home of Hector's cousins. She may also be alive based on a question Hector asked. That happened in a conversation before episode 10.

I've written my analysis of Armando's past at least twice. I don't think he has a criminal record -- at least not in that town -- or Fuentes would know it and use it against him.

Aurora is less emotionally mature than Meche or Elsa. Angela is a highly manipulative narcissist. That is a recipe for disaster. Aurora might fear the loss of any love from her if she does anything Angela doesn't like. It doesn't get any more extreme than this.

My analysis of Elena is confirmed in this episode: She did not like sharing her parents with Elsa. I have no doubt that Estela loves her children equally but that was never enough for Elena. She wanted it all, as though parental love is a zero-sum game. In addition to being a boy, Martin looks younger enough to not be a threat. Elena loves being an authority figure over him, Sofie, and Domingo. I really don't think she loves any of them.

Or Gerardo.

Hector needs to find another place for Estela to hide and very trustworthy security guards disguised as servants. Estela should also get wigs or dye her hair.

CAMINO Ep. 88 Part 1

Fausto clenches his teeth as he asks where Karen got such a stupid idea. Karen calmly tells him not to pretend because she knows everything. He asked Aaron to sabotage the helicopter; her father has blamed himself wondering how he could have lost control; and it was all because of Fausto‘a fault! Fausto insists that what she is saying is crazy. The Karen surprisingly (though nothing she says or does should surprise is) tells Fausto that her mother’s death never really affected her; she never loved her, she was stupid! Fausto looks puzzled as she continues that after that day, her father’s attention and affection were for her, his favorite child. “And I owe it all to you, mi amor.” she spews…and then kisses him!

Gaby continues her disparage against Mac. She tells him that a man who truly loves his family doesn’t lie or deceive them. How was he capable of looking her mother in the eyes, sleep with her…tell her that he loves her?! Her mother broke her back to care for the family while he spent all the money on gambling and of course supporting his other family. At his, Mac denies (supporting the other family) saying that he doesn’t care about “those people” (he can’t even acknowledge them as his family!). He cries that the only ones he loves is them—Amparo, her siblings…and obvio her who was always his favorite…she’s the one who is most like him! Gaby cries that “no! The only one who is like him is Grace, but Gaby feels sorry for her because she did everything led by her resentment for him because he never acknowledged her! Mac counters that the girl only wanted his last name, but she’s not my daughter. Tears rolling down her face, Gaby tells her father he is the worst! She tells him to leave…because just as he rejects Grace, she will no longer acknowledge him as her father! (And viewerville collectively cheers!) Gaby walks away with only a brief look back.

Fausto liked Karen’s kids but continues to deny everything telling Karen she is wrong. Karen tells him that he can take off his mask. This doesn’t change the way she feels for him—she desires and loves him! She smiles that her mother and his parents died that day; he killed them! Fausto argues that she is judging him with evidence…that’s not right (as if anything HE does is right!) Karen, still looking amazed, as she hisses that Fausto worked so hard for nothing! She can just imagine his reaction when he found out that his father left him out if his will!

Dani and Memo are still relishing in the good news as they sit at the table with Isa and Chema who are having some really delicious-looking shakes. Isa asks if the priest allows carriers in church…because she and Chema can t to take Martín to the church when her mama marries her papa Memo. Chema suggests that a photo can be taken of them sitting with Martín. Dark, evil witch interrupts because it’s time for her Martín to have his bottle. She sits at the table, shakes the bottle and when Dani tries to caress crying Martín, Ursula stops her and heartlessly gives Martín the tainted milk! She then purposely tells Memo that she is sorry Gaby hasn’t been able to get out of prison. Chema cries, “Que?! My sister is in jail? That’s why no one wants to tell me anything!!” Ursula feigns surprise as Chema cries that he should have been told! Memo leans over as he chides Ursula for being such a loud mouth…err, imprudent! Ursula defends that she thought his nephew knew since it’s been more than a week. Memo tries to continue but Dani knows it’s useless and stops him shaking her head.

CAMINO Ep. 88 Part 2

Karen tells Fausto that Aaron told her he guarded all of Fausto’s most horrible secrets; and if Fausto thought that with Aaron’s death, would avoid having all his secrets come out, he is very mistaken! His faithful dog left everything prepare to ruin him. Fausto wonders what she is talking about; so Karen explains that Aaron left her a recording where he confesses his crime, admitting that he sabotaged the helicopter under Fausto’s orders. Fausto claims it’s a lie, but Karen warns that her father might get the same video…or Dani…or the police! The day he killed Aaron, he signed his death warrant! He’s a murderer and a thief because she is also aware that he’s been embezzling from the company for years!

Chema cries that he doesn’t want Gaby to be in jail. Isa cries along with him and suggests that pray to the Virgen. Amparo walks in and Chema reproaches her for not telling him about Gaby. Amparo reminds him that she asked him to be patient; she was waiting for the right moment to tell him because this is so sensitive; their family had never gone through something like this. She tries to hug him, but Chema pushes her away asking what Gaby did. Amparo explains as best she can that it was an accident and Gaby was driving. Isa cries that she had told Chema, but she didn’t know that Gaby was in prison. She just knew that her uncle lost his leg. Chema wants to go see Gaby; and after Amparo agrees to take him when she can, they share a consoling group hug.

Fausto finally agrees to stop pretending and admits being responsible for the helicopter accident. He explains that the accident was his father fault…because he had him living off of crumbs…and he is glad for the life of hell Eugenio has lived all these years because of guilt; he deserved it for not allowing him to enjoy his fortune! When he asks if Karen will reproach him for what he did, Karen smilingly replies, “No, because I love you just the way you are. (Bile alert!) until death. She’s not going to act against him for his crime or the embezzlement of the company. Fausto looks leery and asks why; so Karen explains that everyone looks for someone whose demons coincide with each other. The only thing she wants is that they be together for the rest of their lives…she wants him to marry her ASAP! Fausto gives his catty smile and nods.

(SKipped scene) Gaby tells her cellmate about her visit with her father. She can’t understand how he could lead a double life for so long. She then peps up as she shares that she will study physical rehab…she now has it clear what she wants to do with her life. Her love for JuanPa is her motor to move forward.

(Skipped scene) Karen relishes in the thought that as his wife, she will be Fausto’s big ally. She has waited so long for Fausto to be free and nothing would upset her more than know that all that time was in vain. She then assures that she would not hesitate to use the weapons she has against him. Fausto puts on his lying mask and tells Karen that he would love having her as his wife and have her give him a child so he could challenge the will and get his inheritance. But he has his reasons to doubt her because she has betrayed him before. Karen reminds him he has also cheated on her…but beyond all that is the love they feel for each other. And if he is marries her, she will hand over Aaron’s sister to him! After Fausto is surprised that she knows where Sandra is, Karen laughs as she shares that she has become that woman’s best friend…and Sandra told her all about Olivia. It’s been a while since she found out that Fausto was responsible for that poor woman’s tragedy. His capacity for evil fascinates her! And she kisses him…almost forcibly…

CAMINO Ep. 88 Part 3

Eugenio and Lupita are in Sebas’s room watching him. Eugenio appreciates Lupita’s love and dedication for his son…be he worries that Lupita is interrupting her studies to stay with Sebas. When he adds that she needs to go on with her life, Lupita cries nooooo! She won’t leave Sebastian until he opens his eyes! Eugenio appreciates her but it could take months, even years; and she has all her life ahead of her. Lupita cries that she can’t imagine her life without her penguinito. She doesn’t care about anything other than Sebas wake up, fulfill his dreams and that they be happy. Lupita then turns to Eugenio and tells him that she knows he broke up with her mother…they should try again. Eugenio prefers not to talk about that but Lupita argues that he should follow his own advice; Sebas would want to see him happy with the woman he loves…and she knows her mother loves him…and she needs him more than ever!

Memo and Dani are putting Martín in bed. When Memo tells Nélida that he has to go drop off Dani, Nélida starts to clean Martín ‘s drool but then notices that he vomited! Dani starts to pick up Martín, but the worst mother of all time rushes in an picks up Martín telling him that his father and she will stay with him until he gets well. She silently tells Martín that thanks to him his father won’t leave with the maldita lizard; he will stay to take care of him and Martín will help her keep his father by her side.

JP is visiting Sebas and asks if Lupita has seen any change. After Lupita sadly shakes her head, JP assures that he will come visit as often as he can. When he offers to help in any way he can, Lupita tries to convince him not to declare against Gaby, but he refuses. He tells her that there are times he feels a lot of pain, but he shouldn’t because they cut it off.

Ursula complains that Dani shouldn’t be there; she can take care of her own son. Dani agrees to leave but first tells them to give Martín a tea that will calm him.

Fausto vows to take care of Sandra who has already tried to contact Memo. Karen tells him that Aaron alerted Sandra that if he died, he would have information sent to her. Fauso worries that if they don’t get rid of that woman, his life is over (oh, if only!!)

Memo worries that Martín looks weak and won’t wake up. There’s a knock on the door and they think it’s the doctor but it’s Sandra who is willing to answer all his questions!

Memo is in his living room reproaching Sandra since she escaped when Dani and he went to look for her. Sandra explains that she was willing to talk to them but her brother, Aaron, didn’t allow it. She swears that she hasn’t had a minute of peace since the day they destroyed the life of that poor woman. Memo snarls that what they did to Olivia is unforgivable! Ursula who has been eavesdropping calls Fausto and tells him Sandra is there and talking to Memo. Fausto orders he to not allow that maldita mujer to open her mouth! After Sandra recounts all she did for Olivia after she was put in prison, she tells Memo that she and Aaron were only following orders. As she is about to reveal who gave the orders, Ursula barges in crying that her son is not breathing! (Oh goodness! What did she do?!) Before following Memo into the bedroom, Ursula gives Sandra a look of scorn (and I’m wondering why Sandra, who is a nurse, didn’t run in and offer to help). Memo tells Ursula that Martín is breathing, but is very weak. Before they rush Martín to the hospital, Memo asks Amparo to watch Sandra and not let her leave.

CAMINO Ep. 88 Part 4

The new chauffeur wheels JP into the house. Isa and Chuchita tell JP that they will pamper him and try to make him feel better. After Chuchita tells him she will make him something delicious to eat, JP turns her down; he just wants to go sleep. But Isa pleads with him to eat with her, so he concedes…just for her. Memo calls Dani that they have taken Martín to the health center…he needs her to go to the truck stop because Sandra is there. He didn’t have a chance to talk to her since they had to rush out…but she needs to go talk to Sandra before she disappears again. Dani agrees to go right over.

Amparo is questioning Sandra when Satan glides in with a scornful look. Amparo asks why he is there; she hasn’t told her family she sold the truck stop. Humberto overhears and approaches asking how that is?!

The doctor tells Memo that Martín is doing much better; the vomiting and diarrhea have subsided, but they don’t have a diagnosis that would provoke his symptoms. Memo tells Ursula she can leave…but Ursula refuses; both of them will stay, together. That is what their son needs, his parents together.

JP calls out to Chuchita because he needs to go to the bathroom. When she doesn’t respond, he tries going by himself, but falls to the floor crying out that he can’t do anything by himself! Chuchita runs in and tries to help. JP sarcastically asks if she can turn back time before the accident. No matter how Chuchita tries to empathize and encourage him, JP won’t be convinced…he can't get rid of he frustration of wanting to be the way he was. he will always have to depend on someone else…he should have died!

Amparo explains to her father why she has to sell. While Humberto turns to admonish Fausto for taking advantage of the family’s misfortunes and assuring him that he will return all the money...he will never own the truck stop, Sandra, who has been watching all along, takes the opportunity to run away. Fausto starts to argue but stops when he notices that Sandra is gone! Amparo gasps…since Memo asked her to not let Sandra go!

(Skipped Scene #3) Lola is on the road on her way back to the truck stop. She smiles and sings along with the radio as she recalls the many special moments she's had with Humberto. She stops and thinks out loud that for years she avoided love…without knowing that in his arms she would find peace.

Humberto reverts to his old self as he complains about Amparo selling the truck stop…they should have let him die! Lola tries to calm him down and Amparo explains that she has no choice…as Dani walks in. Humberto insists that as long as she doesn’t sign over the deeds, they still have a chance of keeping the truck stop. After he snarls that they will only be taken out of there over his dead body, he walks off and Lola follows. Dani approaches and sits with Amparo, worried about what Amparo has done and asking why she didn’t go to Eugenio. Amparo shares that Eugenio broke up with her; and she is not about to owe him one more favor! The trucking business gets worse as the days go by and the restaurant is not doing as well as before. This will hurt everyone, but they have no choice but to start over elsewhere.

CAMINO Ep 88 Part 5

Oh good grief!! Sand-ummy has called Karen! Sandra tells her that Fausto found her and she was so scared that the only thing that occurred to her (itty bitty brain) was to call Karen. Karen tells her she is in danger and the only thing that will save her is the evidence she has against Fausto. Sandra tells her that Aaron told her not to trust Karen since she was that murderers lover. To convince Sandra, Karen tells Sandra that she just found out that Fausto killed her mother; does Sandra really think she would protect him? Karen wants Fausto to pay for all he’s done. Karen is on Sandra’s side, but she can’t lie to her anymore. Since Karen knows that Sandra sent her the USB with Aaron’s confession, then Sandra must have all the other evidence. Sandra remains quiet so Karen suggests they go to a secure place.

Dani explains why she is there…to meet with Sandra. Amparo explains how it was that Sandra suddenly disappeared.

Karen and Sandra are walking along. As Sandra tells Karen that she has all the evidence (in her bag) that she was supposed to give Memo, Fausto appears. Karen grabs the bag telling Fausto that thee evidence is there, and pushes Sandra toward Fausto! Traitor! cries out Sandra. Karen hands the tablet to Fausto who throws it to the ground and shoots at it! After Fausto releases Sandra to thank Karen and kiss her, Sandra runs off!! Karen warns that Sandra is leaving; so Fausto quickly turns and shoots at Sandra but (thankfully) misses!

Dani goes to the health center to ask about Martin. Memo tells her that they are running tests because they don't know what is wrong with him. Memo needs to leave because he doesn't want to leave Martin alone...and Dani has to go check on her brother.

Eugenio is in Sebas's room telling Lupita that is admirable how she has stayed by Sebas's side. He thanks her and would give anything for some change...maybe he is being selfish for wanting to keep Sebas alive...and avoiding the ultimate decision. Lupita pleads with him not to give up...there hasn't been a change in Sebas but he hasn't gotten worse. She begs him not to give up!

Humberto finally acknowledges Leos success and is proud of him. Everyone chimes in sharing how proud they are of him. the conversation then turns to Gaby. Amparo hasn't received a call from the lawyer. And Memo can only imagine how Gaby feels.

JP goes to see Gaby who enters the visitor's room crying. She tries to reach out to her pezesito (little fish), but he tells her not to get close. He only came to tell her th her sentence will be decided today (What? with no lawyer??/)...it could be 5-8 years...which doesn't compare to the time she condemned him to this chair!

Lupita tells Sebas that he needs to wake up...she felt that his father seemed different this time. Este enters to visit and is sorry that there has been no change. Lupita notices a bruise on Este's arm which Este tries to hide. After Lupita asks how her marriage is, Este lies that it is marvelous. Kind Lupita offers that if Este ever needs someone to talk to, she can count on her. Este thanks her but claims it is not necessary. Este tells Lupita not to get discouraged, she is sure that one day Lupita will have her incredible wedding.

RGV Chick: AWESOME recap of tonight's episode. Deep & thorough analysis.

I hope you'll do a special Caray Caray special on the late Rebecca Jones soon.

Thank you RGV Chick! Your recap is excellent, this episode was disappointing!

Gaby sentenced to five years!!! And did they ever check the car? I think what makes me maddest is that Amparo sold the truck stop so she could get Gaby a GOOD lawyer!!! How good could he be??

Then there's JP who comes to twist the knife! I am so done with him. He's such a self-righteous little punk. I tried to feel sorry for him but I just don't, it's time to accept reality and live with it and stop making everyone else miserable. The truly sad thing is Gaby would take him back in a heartbeat, and will if/when she gets the chance. Gaby deserves better than JP.

I am too horrified by Ursa to keep talking about her...she can't get away from that baby fast enough!!!

You have a good point about how nothing should surprise us about Karen. I suppose I'm more disappointed than surprised. I was looking forward to Karen turning against Falso and these two taking each other out!!! But she just continues to beg for a wedding ring and doesn't give a damn about her mother since her death earned her daddy's attention?? Sigh...what a let down. Boo!!!

My cable and internet provider was doing maintenance yesterday so I haven't yet gotten to Ep 21. I ask for your patience.

Thanks Rgv Chick, a great recap of a disappointing episode. Absolutely nothing was resolved. Do we even know if Martin survived? Nothing was said, but I assume he’s ok for now.

Karen is unbelievable. She never loved her mom so is fine with her death. But she sure heaps guilt on her dad.

Sandra goes to Karen in spite of her brother’s warning!

Gaby mentions the brakes not working again. It’s three months later, if someone decides to check it might be too late.

JuanPa needs to leave his self pity behind, there are wheelchair sports, he can get an artificial leg, I know the word but I’m a bad speller!

If there’s any dawn coming we have to wait until Friday! Hope they don’t leave everything for the last episode. I like to enjoy some time with the HEAs.

Camino.

Dear Chickie, thank you for bravely going into this tunnel of doom and gloom to deliver each and every soul crushing moment.

I cannot watch the scenes of Ursula drugging her own baby to make him sick in her vain attempt to cling onto Memo.

My favorite scene was mastermind Fausto hiding behind a tree in the park to spy on Karen and Sarah.

I do not understand Karen at all. Could she actually be setting Fausto up just to pull the rug out from under him and bring him crashing down, or has she just gone completely around the crazy bend . As she gets more and more vicious and evil, her lipstick gets redder and redder. She is always pulling Fausto into a kind of scary , violent liplock, and Faustian just can't say no. She reapplies her lipstick often. Perhaps it is poisoned , and she plans to kiss him to death.

Camino

So it seems that Este's new husband is abusive . I don't understand why Tonyv wanted to marry her in the first place. Does her mother know that he is abusive ? If so, she would probably tell Este to divorce him and push for a big settlement. I realize that this is supposed to be Este's anvils , but this storyline makes no sense to me. Where's Loreta's anvil for being an awful mother \person. As for Estes sudden change....hmmmm.....really ? She suddenly became a nice person .

Camino #88

Gracias, RGV Chick. This is a very frustrating episode. My favorite line: The marriage of Satan and the wicked witch ends with a kiss. (hope their fangs get stuck!)

A three-month time jump and no forensic report on the car? That's insane.

Aaron stashed some documents in the restaurant's storage room. We need to hope that whatever they are would also have been on the tablet. I am still wondering what that tablet contained that wasn't on the flash drive. Is anything from that tablet on the cloud?

Estefania should have seen the abusive in Tony when he tried to force himself on her. I agree that her mother would try that tactic but would that even work?

As for the whole inheritance issue, my understanding is that the legal standing of adopted children is equal to that of "natural" children, so Isabela is still the legal heiress to her grandfather's assets. Karen got played.

CAMINO

Thank you, Steve, Darcy, Liz and Susanlynn! You all are so generous with you kind words and incredible insight.

Darcy, "Gaby sentenced to five years!!! And did they ever check the car? I think what makes me maddest is that Amparo sold the truck stop so she could get Gaby a GOOD lawyer!!!" Very upsetting , isn't it? I can't believe that teh writers are being so careless about this; it even makes the storyline sound ridiculous.

Liz, "The doctor tells Memo that Martín is doing much better; the vomiting and diarrhea have subsided, but they don’t have a diagnosis that would provoke his symptoms. Memo tells Ursula she can leave…but Ursula refuses; both of them will stay, together. That is what their son needs, his parents together." Martin is okay, they just can;t find what is causing him to get sick; keep in mind that this is a local clinic, so they probably don't have the best equipment or specialized staff.

Susanlynn, "I do not understand Karen at all. Could she actually be setting Fausto up just to pull the rug out from under him and bring him crashing down, or has she just gone completely around the crazy bend." I'm hoping for the former and am sure that she is another who has gone completey nutso!

CAMINO

Thank you, Urban!

"Estefania should have seen the abusive in Tony when he tried to force himself on her." I do recall that she reminded her mother that Toni tried to force himself on her and even tried to hit her, so I think she did know that abuse was probable, but I don't hihnk she had any idea how bad it would be.

Susanlynn, "As for Estes sudden change....hmmmm.....really ? She suddenly became a nice person." I have to agree with you on this. This is just about as insane as Gaby getting five years.

Rgv Chick, wielding superior wit and wisdom, you courageously battled last night’s horrific carnage and heartache. Your riveting, exceptional recap gave no ground to the seemingly insurmountable evil. We know it’s darkest before dawn but somehow, you have instilled a bit of hope that life and peace (at least for some) are on the horizon.

“The marriage of Satan and the wicked witch ends with a kiss. (hope their fangs get stuck!)” could not have been more perfect. Is it the culmination of her dreams or revenge? I still have no idea.

When Ursula was seeing the specter of Cesar, her mental illness dominated. In poisoning her own child, her calculated evilness prevails.

This bears repeating in its entirety: “When she tells him that she loves him, JP barks that she should stop talking about love; she needs to understand that their love has been destroyed forever! This is what they have--her being here locked up and he destined not to move like before”. I’m sure the five year sentence did not cut Gaby as deeply as this wound combined with her father’s betrayal.

Did anyone really think Sandra would get to turn the incriminating evidence over to Memo?

Memo and Daniela’s pain, Amparo’s grief, Chema’s hurt, Este’s bruises hurt the heart.

Sebastian, it is time to open your eyes lad…

Outstanding Rgv Chick. Every word. Thank you.

For some unknown reason , the writers decided that they needed to ramp up the evil and danger in the plot . That wasn't a good decision . Were ratings falling , so someone decided it was time to jump a couple sharks ? The storylines have become unbelievable. Meanwhile, the actors are doing their best with the lines that they have been given. They deserve better. I am ready for this angst and terror to end . I am looking forward to " El Amor Invencible" and new characters and storylines to watch . I especially need that storyline about Ursula drugging Martin to end . Awful .

Camino #88

Nothing wrong with the ratings except two single-episode below-average dips in December, but there is the possibility that a program on a competing network was perceived as a threat. Also, there were 14-15 weeks of episodes before the first airdate. Turning the last few weeks into roller coaster rides has been a habit with Televisa since YNCELH.

Camino

Thanks Rgv Chick. I had read that, but I guess I assumed she would continue drugging him. I guess she feels she has Memo now so no need to drug the baby.

Susanlynn, I also thought she might be setting him up. She seems to plan on “getting him” but then seduces him. I was surprised Fausto married her. All I could think of was a wife can’t testify against her husband. Not sure if that is true but would be a reason to marry.

Liz

Liz, they keep showing wacky, nasty Karen applying that bright red lip gloss . Why? She is a study in black and white, and those blood red lips make her look like a vampire. I think she and Faust on are destined to elimimate each other . Maybe Karen has joined Ursula on the crazy train . Fausto, on the other hand, seems sane but greedy, unscrupulous , and heartless . With Fausto, it's all about the money.

Gracias, Rgv Chick. Excellent recap. I was riveted from top to finish. Loved "Oh good grief!! Sand-ummy has called Karen!"

I'm thinking of when our esteemed JudyB would say something like "well, I'm learning Spanish" when a TN got really cray cray. I've certainly learned freno (brakes) and testamento (will). JudyB, I hope you're having a great day.

At last, Sandra saw with her own eyes that Karen is not her protector -- and lived to tell it. I'm betting Aaron has everything backed up on a cloud, or something.

I was glad to see JP visiting Gaby. Despite all he said, you could see he still loves Gaby and does not have the heart to stay this angry and bitter forever.

What anvil should Karen get? It's tough for me to choose, because the only thing Karen cares about is Fausto. I'm betting she will not be able to get pregnant again. She started trying late and now she feels pressured and her body will not cooperate. She will grow even battier.

That the substance Ursula is putting in Martin's milk doesn't show up in urine and blood tests is a crying shame. Being in a madhouse for the rest of her life is not a good enough anvil for Ursula.

Camino #88

I am not sure I agree. Being in a madhouse makes you go even crazier.

We know Karen's mental illness will get worse no matter what else happens before the end. She relishes in her own evil.

As for JP, if I were Gaby I would drop him on his butt for all the nasty things he had said. Those kinds of words should not be said because you can't unhear them.

Part 1 of 5

The bachelor party continued but Horacio decided to leave. The rest of the guys didn't even notice.

He went to Aurora's room. They hugged. He said “You're getting married tomorrow and I will lose you forever. You broke me heart.”

Hector called the Quiroga house to talk to Elsa. Flor told him she had an argument with her father and he locked her up in her room. He did not think this punishment appropriate. “You know how Don Armando gets when he's angry.” Hector said he would talk to Elsa the next day at the wedding. He then closed his computer and left his office.

Horacio begged Aurora to embrace him one last time. She did, but looked frightened, sad, and indecisive all at once.

Elsa sat up and prayed for her baby's survival.

Andres told Antonia about this. He felt frustrated because he couldn't do anything.

Flor went to Padre Reynaldo for help preventing the forced abortion. She begged him to help Elsa, who wanted to have her baby.

The birds were chirping when the wicked Elena barged into Elsa's room. She demanded to know why she was still in bed. She ordered her to get up because she would be relieved of her baby. Elsa refused. “You don't get to ask; it's my father's orders. Get up. This can be the easy way or the hard way.” “Why don't you help me? If you were in my place I would help so nobody could hurt you.” “I never would have a bastard child. I can't be the example.” “Why do you treat me like this? We're sisters.” “Precisely because I'm your sister I agree that this creature can't be born.” “Then I'd rather die so you and my father will have it on your consciences!” “Oh, please, stop with these ridiculous threats! Now get dressed.” She left and locked the door.

Horacio was lying in the bed, half-spoon position with Aurora. Both were still clothed. She woke up in a panic. It was eight o'clock. She said that nothing had happened the night before. He had told her she broke his heart. In vino veritas. Room service knocked and Horacio hid in the bathroom, Carlos came in with a champagne breakfast on the cart, complete with mimosas for two.

Armando was leaving the house with Martin and Sofie following him, asking where he was going. He told them he was going to the dentist Elena shoved Elsa toward Armando and almost dragged their younger siblings back into the house. Elsa asked him “Are you sure you are obligating me to do this?” “Of course. Someday you will be grateful I did. You have your whole life ahead of you. You may not know this now, but in time you will be grateful – ” “No! That will never happen and moreover I will never forgive you.” He didn't argue, only said “Let's go” and opened the car door. Flor came outside and hugged Elsa. Armando took Elsa by the shoulders and said “Let's go” again as he turned her toward the car. Both Elsa and Flor got into the back seat.

Aurora and Carlos ate breakfast and he toasted their last morning as novios. She said she was happy. He said he was. Horacio heard this through the bathroom door.

Estela made her bed. Hector came in and she told him she was worried about Elsa. Hector could only tell her what he had heard from Flor. Estela never agreed with this and there was never a time when he would leave her in charge of their children. She was frustrated at not being able to help them. He reminded her she needed to get well first, then left to go to the wedding.

Carlos and Aurora finished breakfast; Aurora thought the mimosas were a little strong. He thought of giving her a preview of things to come later, but she said she needed to leave so she could get dressed, She rushed him out the door. Horacio came out of the bathroom and she told him to leave. What just happened could have provoked a disaster. He told her her he was profoundly in love with her. She finally opened the door and told him to leave so nobody would see. He apologized and left.

Andres came to the Quiroga house only to encounter more vitriol from Elena. He threatened to shout to the town that Elsa is having his child, starting with her younger siblings. He tried to really stick it to Elena by saying how happy they would be to have a nephew. This shouting match got Sofie's attention. Andres told Sofie to tell Elsa he came to talk to her and she agreed. He left. Elena ordered Sofie into the car and got in behind the wheel.

Armando knocked on Olivia's door. When she came out Elsa said “I don't want this, I don't want this. Don't make me do this.” Armando said “The faster we get this over with the better” and shoved her inside. Flor grit her teeth through all this and followed inside. She was taken into a bedroom and put on the bed with instructions to bend her knees. Armando forced her down. Olivia told him to wait outside just as Padre Reynaldo forced his way into the room. Elena pleaded with the padre to help her. This became an argument between Armando and the padre. The padre tried to make him see that these conditions put Elsa's life in danger. Besides, she was more than three months' pregnant. Armando would not accept that, called him a busybody, and said he didn't have the right. Padre Reynaldo said he didn't have the right to do this, as he would be committing a sin. This caused Armando to shove the padre into the outer room. Olivia then began a battle with Elsa with Flor watching helplessly shocked by this entire ordeal.

Padre Reynaldo tried to tell Armando that Elsa could die; Armando said this was not going to happen.
The padre then asked if this became an emergency what was he going to do? This could mean his daughter's life. By the time they get help it could be too late. Olivia came out of the room saying that Elsa would not comply and she could not do anything. Armando thought for a second, want back in, and said “Let's go.” Elsa and Flor couldn't leave that room fast enough.

Lamberto had a discussion with his corporate attorney and got good news regarding his business interests. The man then recommended a divorce lawyer [First name Fabian] and gave Lamberto his business card.

Silvia delivered some new clothes to Estela and filled her in on Angela's situation. She then asked about whether Angela was still involved with Armando, but Silvia knew nothing about that. She knew about the affair for 7-8 years. Estela was shocked but told her not to tell Lamberto. Silvia said she would not. She left to get back to the wedding duties, telling Estela to send for her if she needed her.

Padre Reynaldo emphasized the most important thing here was Elsa's life. He said “You don't have the right to take anyone's life.” Armando looked like he had a chest pain as he removed something from the nearest pocket. He handed the proverbial brown pay envelope to Olivia who immediately began counting its contents as they left.

Hector went out to the dining area and gave instructions to staff. Lamberto arrived to talk with him and all seemed well. Silvia reported back to him and then decided to make herself scarce during the wedding so as not to upset (rile up) Angela. Hector thought that wise.

Armando was talking with Estela's relatives and pretending all was right with the world. They knew nothing about recent events. Elena came in just as he hung up the phone and he told her that he had told them nothing about Elena, least of all that she had disappeared. Any more enquiries would need to be anticipated. She asked about Elsa and he told her that the conditions were not good. He would have to find better. She then told him that Andres had come that morning threatening to tell that world that Elsa was having his child and he was being prevented from seeing her. Armando asked what Andres was looking for and Elena said that he was looking to see Elsa and won't stop until he succeeds. This was enough for Armando that he couldn't think at the moment and asked to be left alone. She left his study looking sad and disappointed. He took out his phone.

Aurora's hairdresser finished and left her alone in her room. As she left Horacio was just outside and came in to attempt to tempt her again. He talked about how jealous he got listening to her and Carlos. He kissed her and she kissed back. [Run, Carlos, while you still have a chance.!]

Antonia excused herself to hit the bathroom leaving Silvia alone at reception. Estela called for something to eat and Silvia was prepared to write this down Angela came in and began to needle her about being a receptionist. Estela recognized her voice. Hector and Carlos came out to reception just as Silvia told Angela to behave herself. She said she was there to see her daughter and started asking questions about whether the reception was ready, etc. Hector – in a quiet but stern way – demanded that she show Silvia some respect. Carlos gave her the key to Aurora's room, telling her it was at the top of the stairs. As she walked away Silvia thanked Hector for defending her. He said it was nothing; Angela was someone who needed to learn her place.

Angela walked in on a hot kiss between Aurora and Horacio. “Are you crazy?” she asked. “Mother, why did you came in without knocking?” “Is that all you can say to me?” “I can explain,” said Horacio. “You can't marry Carlos,” she finally said to Aurora. She asked Horacio to leave her alone with her mother. He left as quickly as possible. “I forbid you to say anything about what you just saw,” Aurora said to Angela “..or I will cancel the wedding.” “How are you going to marry Carlos when you were just kissing Horacio?” “It was a moment of weakness. I love Carlos.” “Of course, of course, why not? It's obvious you aren't in love with him. This will torture you for your entire life. You live with one man, are in love with another, you will regret this.” “No, no, no and it would behoove you to shut your mouth, Mother. If you don't I will go to the police and tell them that you forced me to lie about Andres.”

Angela's mouth hung open like that of a newly caught fish.

“Shut your mouth or the police will know you lied. I don't think you'd be happy in prison.” “I don't believe you capable of doing that.” “The proof will be worth more than that.” “My whole life I never thought my daughter would do something like this. “Whom do you think I learned from? You ran a great school, Mother.” Angela shook her head [$20 says two pints will make one cavort.]

Once home Elsa went into Elena's room and used her cell phone to call Andres. They barely had a chance to say anything when the evil sister ran in, screeching as she grabbed the phone. She had cut off the call. She then yelled at Elsa, saying she was forbidden to use the phone. Elsa ran out of the room and the argument continued on the stairs. [The proverbial Staircase of Doom] “My father told me to keep an eye on you. At the first opportunity you call that bad guy.” She grabbed Elsa's wrist “I am locking you up again” and tried to force her back upstairs. She pulled her arm one way, then the opposite a few times and Elsa rolled down the staircase.

Flor, Martin, Sofia, and ran over and found Elsa unconscious. Domingo came in on his crutches. Elena stared down at them, her face showing no expression. Flor looked up at her and demanded to know what she had done.

Angela continued to insist that Aurora's marriage would be a failure. “Do you really think you are the most qualified to advise me?” Aurora asked. Lamberto came in, hoping to escort her down the aisle. Aurora made it clear that she wanted Gerardo to do that. He was disappointed but said he needed to respect her decision. He left her room and before Angela could say anything else Aurora kicked her out.

Angela went straight down to the bar where Horacio was about to pour himself a drink. “What will you do so Aurora doesn't get married?” “Nothing.” “Nothing? If she was kissing you it's because she doesn't love Carlos.” He said it was a moment of weakness but Angela didn't buy it. She said that Carlos could not marry just as Hector arrived and heard this. He asked her what she was saying.

Gerardo talked to Elsa in front of Flor. Unfortunately Elena was also there saying that Elsa tried to escape and they tried to stop her. She didn't know why she fell. Gerardo sent Flor to get his medical bag, which was in his car. Flor left and Gerardo asked Elsa if she was in pain. She said No, but had felt faint. “Really? That was nothing,” Elena mocked. Gerardo kept what was left of his cool, then finally said “In any case, I have to examine her. She is pregnant.” Elena would not move.

“Why are you saying that Aurora and Carlos can't marry?” Angela lied, saying that it was because Aurora wouldn't permit Lamberto to walk her down the aisle. [Come on, Angela; you can do better than that.] Hector didn't quite believe this and Angela said that couldn't happen because it wasn't correct. Horacio excused himself to help Aurora and left the bar. Angela asked if Hector could think of something to say to Aurora. Hector looked at her and asked “If you who are her mother can't convince her, what do you think I can do?” He excused himself, looking out of the corner of his eye before leaving the bar.

Gerardo looked at Elsa's eyes and said the fall had no consequences. He said she should see a gynecologist as soon as possible. Elena asked “What's the beg deal? Nothing happened.” “It's not just the fall. Elsa is at least four months' pregnant. This fall could affect the baby.” “Four months?” Elena said. “Does that mean you were pregnant while in the boarding school?” “Yes.” “Shameless!”
“Why are you standing here in her room?” Gerardo asked. “Because my father asked me to. She is locked in her room because I caught her in mine with my phone.” “But she got out and fell. Did you push her?” [¡Bravo, Gerardo!] “I don't believe you think that! She took a bad step.”

Silvia brought Estela's food to her and told her that the problem with Angela was SSDD. Estela told her that she was sick to her stomach, wondering how Angela could be her beset friend while cheating with Armando. Silvia said that to Angela other people are just a convenience and she feels no ounce of guilt. Estela felt like a fool upon the discovery. However it was better to know and also Andres found out who his father was. Estela told her that she and Lamberto have a second chance and they deserved it.

Flor brought a food tray to Elsa. Armando followed her into Elsa's room and asked what happened. Elsa told him she fell down the stairs. He asked whether she was trying to escape. She said no, but was arguing with Elena who was trying to lock her up again. He actually asked her whether she was trying to escape. She said she was not and she now had to see a gynecologist to make sure her baby was alright. “Why? Tomorrow we're going to a clinic in Alcocer to end your pregnancy.” Of course Elsa objected in the same terms as before. Armando pointed to the food tray and told Flor to bring the food tray to the kitchen after Elsa finished it. No more food until after the procedure.

When Flor was alone in the kitchen she called Padre Reynaldo and ratted Armando out to him. He told her not to worry; he would be there to help.

Angela went home, put on a low-cut dress, and called Armando. She wanted him to come over and he told her it would not be prudent to be seen near her house. The situation with Lamberto is delicate. He (himself) will not be manipulated by her. He told her to relax and go to Aurora's wedding. She wanted him to go there with her. He was incredulous and she answered that he was a friend of the family and nobody would suspect anything was going on between them. She wanted to be with him. He still said no and ended the call. She did not know that Gerardo had been standing in the doorway. “Ay, Mother, who were you talking to?” She looked at him in shock.

As the Morales men went out to the car Carlos felt his pockets and ran back inside because he didn't have the rings. Hector pondered the story he thought Angela invented about why Carlos and Aurora can't get married. Horacio said that wasn't a lie. Hector suspected that something else was going on. Horacio said there was nothing else. Carlos came running out with the ring box and the three jumped into Hector's SUV.

Angela lied to her son, saying she was talking to Teresa. He heard what she said about people wouldn't suspect that anything was going on between them. She denied that and he told her to stop lying for once in her life. She tried to say they needed to get to the wedding. He accused her of having a lover. She evaded this again and they left so as not to be late.

Armando must have been talking to Leonidas because Estela was the topic of discussion. He ended the call just as Padre Reynaldo knocked and came in. They had the same conversation as before regarding Armando's intention to force an abortion. He made Armando an offer: Allow the baby to be born and he would take charge of it. He would see that the baby was adopted by a family that lives far from St Juan. Nobody would have to know. Armando said nothing but looked interested.

Bloody hell, we finally have two people who suspect that Elena tried to kill Elsa. I could almost understand this if they were fighting over a man their own age like the two sisters in Corazon Salvaje but this is upper-level psycho.

I wonder whether Guillermina will crash the wedding and/or whether Horacio will try to stop it.

How on earth could Elsa and Andres get out of this hell to Mexico City? He doesn't have a car, but could he get enough dinero?

Gerardo needs to get out of that hollow marriage eventually but I think he will stay until Elsa can get free. She needs protection.

Perdona

Thanks Urban, you really went above and beyond to get this recap out. I appreciate that.

Elena really is cold blooded. She would have been fine if she had killed the baby. I hope we will eventually find out why she hates her sister. And also more about her relationship with her dad.

Geraldo has no idea that his wife and father-in-law are trying to end the pregnancy. I wish he would find out. I think he could stop Armando. He probably realizes his mom has a lover and he knows she’s a liar, so I’m not sure why he believes her about his dad hurting her.

I don’t really care if Aurora gets married or not. She’s not going to be happy either way. The wedding should be interesting.

I’m so glad Silvia is there for Estela. I think they will end

Lizup as friends.

Aurora is too young and emotionally immature for marriage. The only reason she is marrying Carlos is that she has to get away from Angela for her own sanity. I don't even think we have a clue about what she is studying in school.

Here we learned something new: Estela never was the disciplinarian in her own family. It was always Armando (whose name, BTW, means "military man"). Estela has at least some living relatives as well, but we have not yet seen them and don't know what they're like.

Elena could be a Bad Seed, but I don't like the idea of hereditary personality.

Urban, this was an amazing recap. I so appreciate your marvelous dialog translations; everything you included was so crucial.

“The proverbial Staircase of Doom” reared its ugly head but fortunately the fall wasn’t fatal.

The scene at Olivia’s was just gruesome. Thank heavens Padre Reynaldo showed up in the nick of time (again) and was able to stop Armando’s cruelty. At the least, the Father hopefully has bought distraught Elsa some time.

“The birds were chirping when the wicked Elena barged into Elsa's room” was perfect. Amidst so many villains, Elena continues to take center stage as she vies with Angela for the wickedest of them all. “Precisely because I'm your sister I agree that this creature can't be born” was inhuman. Elena is a fire breathing dragon with her foot on Elsa’s neck, preening with righteousness. All at the behest of her father, Satan. Whatever is behind her unwavering allegiance and adoration of Armando?

The best moment was student Aurora turning on teacher Angela and threatening her where it hurt. That said, Aurora is going to have to recant her testimony regarding Andres, and hope it is sooner rather than later.

I wish we knew if Aurora and Horacio had a backstory or if everything transpiring is them just acting on long submerged crushes. As you noted Liz "she is not going to be happy either way". Aurora is no saint but Horacio pursuing her on the eve of and day of her wedding was wrong. He should have either backed off or been a man and told Aurora that if she wasn’t honest with Carlos, then he would be. So much for brotherhood.

“Did you push her?” [Bravo, Gerardo!]” had me nodding in agreement. Surely his eyes are open as Elena is taking no pains to hide her contempt for her sister. I hope he is only staying at Armando’s to protect Elsa (as you noted Urban). His marriage was over before the vows were spoken and I’m sure he has grounds for an annulment.

“Hector – in a quiet but stern way – demanded that she show Silvia some respect”. His sharp stare and authoritative tone have such a commanding presence.

Elsa, Estela, talk about damsels in distress. Thank heavens for the good padre and for Hector.

So will Aurora make it down the aisle? I fear she will….

Thank you Urban!

Actually, if Aurora makes it down the aisle she is still better off. She doesn't seem to mind having sex with Carlos, he is good to her, and this should give her time enough away from Angela to get her head together. Of course since Angela has time on her hands now it won't matter if there is no luna de miel. There is also the risk that Carlos will move into the Montero household, but I doubt that Aurora would go along with this. She wants to be away from Angela, who is desperate to keep her at home. Not for Aurora's own good, but for selfish reasons.

Carlos will get hurt either way, but he will get over it.

PERDONA

Well, after catching up with episodes of "La fea más bella" and "Soy tu dueña" on Unimás, my mood is better this morning. Nothing like Leti putting don Fernando in his place or hearing Alicia say "Ay, Marcia" for the umpteenth time or for knowing that Lucero's character will soon be romanced by Fernando Colunga to make me smile. : )

Diana, "The proverbial 'Staircase of Doom' reared its ugly head but fortunately the fall wasn’t fatal." Good one! I also agree with you about Urban's “Did you push her?” [Bravo, Gerardo!]” Gerardo is getting a good idea of the monster he married. He is one of the few characters that seems "normal."

Padre Reynaldo at least came up with a short term solution for Elsa to keep her baby but once it is born there will be another crisis. I can only guess and probably predict correctly , so I won't do either. If Elsa and Andrés had only listened to us and had gotten out of town ASAP rather than "making plans" to leave. Andrés should have had some money from his job in Mexico City.

I find the whole Horacio -Aurora-Carlos situation tedious which is just another way of saying boring. Horacio was obnoxious. Héctor as Horacio's father suspected that something was up. He looked and sounded GUILTY.

Here is hoping that Estela's sister arrives on the scene soon and turns out to be her ally and not Armando's. I am ready for a new character to mix things up.

They sure seem to be pulling out all of the stops on telenovela tropes in this one! Do they have a list they are working through? A contest maybe with one writer competing with another? I think it is time to break out the BINGO cards.

All that being said, I will be watching tonight!

Perdona

Thanks, Urban. Fantastic recap. I appreciate all the dialogue, especially between Elena and Elsa.

Surprisingly, the padre's argument that Olivia's work wasn't safe and that Elsa would hate Armando for the rest of his life if he made her abort seemed to affect Armando. Somewhere in that mean ogre, he does seem to want his kids to love him.

I've been scoffing at Elsa not breaking the bedroom window or overpowering Elena to escape, but on second thought I can see how growing up where it's routine for dad to lock you in your room and to boss your mom around can make you more accustomed to obeying him.

Surely the Padre is playing Solomon and doesn't really plan to put Elsa and Andres' baby up for adoption?

Poor Carlos. Yet another rotten marriage added to the population. Aurora isn't thinking about him at all, just what's best for her. She and Horacio deserve each other.

Elena may be thinking that helping her father control Elsa will make her [Elena] his favorite, but that's not happening. He is not using her as a confidante, but only as an aide.
