Caray, Caray!

Guerrero. So, does Fede want Augusto's cars to win or lose? I know that the Guerrero brothers have arranged for them to lose, and that Fede owes some gamblers a lot of money and is in big trouble if the race doesn't go his way, but I didn't catch whether his way was winning or losing. Either way, I hope the anvil falls on him soon.
 

Guerrero. Since it was Fede, apparently, who ordered the defective parts, maybe he wants the cars to lose too.

SpanProf, Fede wants them to lose. He is jealous of Jesus and he thinks Augi will blame Jesus and he will get his golden boy spot cemented again when they lose.

To all the Patio. I got a message from Adriana and she's having computer issues. She's been trying but she hasn't been able to get the computer fixed so she isn't going to be able to upload her recap. Feel free to discuss yesterday's episode.

Unfortunately I can't contribute much. I had a very busy day yesterday followed by a business dinner that I was sort of preoccupied/nervous about so my mind wasn't exactly focused on the TV. I did watch but I don't remember a whole lot about it.

Domi caught Augi with Briana and basically told Bri to go to hell and later rebuked Augi harshly, even told him not to call her Dome because she's an adult - so he's calling her Domenica now. Augi had some sort of defense for that to deflect his wrong doing but I don't remember much of that.

Mommy Dearest got falling down drunk having a little pity party and Domi tried to comfort her but I don't think that was too successful. I do remember that MD said something about Lupe being Augi's lover and Domi saying that wasn't true and that Lupe is a good person. I believe Domi sort of alluded to the fact that Augi's lover was someone different but I don't think she spelled it out.

Domi figured out that Damian knew about Briana and didn't tell her so now she's PISSED at him because they agreed no more secrets and he's all secrets. She can't trust him.

Emma almost started drinking again out of sheer boredom, left alone at the Finca; but Adrian showed up in the knick of time and she didn't. She admitted that maybe she needs some sort of alcohol counseling.

That's all I can remember! Hope everyone is enjoying their Friday! Oh, and just in case you're wondering. Dinner went good, nothing to be nervous about. But it's a new job, new co-workers, new boss, etc. Lots of getting use to the new environment. Next week's trip will be the whole team meeting together in Austin so that's when I'll get to really meet everyone!

Guerrero Capítulo 76 Part 1 of 3

We start with Detective Augi confirming Carloca’s whereabouts during Mariluz’s accident. Mica confirms she was tearing up the kitchen beforehand. She knows because she had to clean up the mess. He confirms with Dra. Vega via phone that Carloca’s meds do not contain Benzodiazepines. He’s relieved to find out they do not. He’s convinced Carloca had nothing to do with it. He’s a worse detective than he is father/husband/uncle/etc.

Guadaloops calls Augi and demands he not summon Mari to his House of Attempted Murders anymore. Augi defends Carloca - repeating the findings of his ace detective work. Lupe isn’t having it, tells him to stay away from Mari, and hangs up in his face!

Adrián asks the finca’s main housekeeper if she knew Amelia Sánchez. She confirms she did as Amelia was the foreman’s sister. Amelia Sánchez was sweet and tender, but one day she just left! Nobody ever asked for or remember her except her boyfriend, Margarito Albizú. He was a farmer; now he lives in town. He’s married and has little Margaritos.

Woah! Villalba visits Augi in Augi’s office. He’s there to ask him to join his new coffee venture (since Augi was behind the foreign seeds that got Villalba in trouble). Augi dismisses him and tears the offer up in his face! Villalba glares.

Doménica calls the finca. Ems says Adrián is there making her the happiest girl in the world. She says he will help her find a rehab group, and Domís wishes her well. She hangs up and immediately gets a notification for Augi’s upcoming race. She’s not amused.

Clad in a red “EXPERT LOVER - Passion Changes Everything” t-shirt (LMAO) Valero wants to visit Mariluz with Mica. They’ve brought treats. Lupe is not having it as Valero works for Jesús. She goes into full Mother Hen/Annoying Blowhard Mode so Mica says forget it. Lupe is wrong about Valero, and she stands by her man! They leave. Valero is unsuccessful in taking the candy treats back from Lupe.

Augi & Villalba now enter a pissing contest (figuratively) about who Gaudalupe likes more. Augi says, “Nanner! Nanner! Nanner! I kissed her.. Just ask her!” and sends him away. Outside, Villalba mumbles approx. 17 words that make sense to nobody.

Newly single Mr. Patty-Cake brings flowers to Mariluz. She’s flattered that someone as important as Patricio would come visit little old her. I’m totally distracted by the song that plays, “Me Puedes Pedir Lo Que Sea” which I first heard in Amores Verdaderos (which brought me to the patio in the first place.). Wow!

He says, no pressure, but she’s invited to the land shareholders’ meeting. She accepts. He’s blown away by her knowledge of business and agriculture. She shares that she was a florist and goes on and on about agriculture. He can’t believe it; is she for real? Is he dreaming? He’s smitten. I can totally get behind this couple. Team Patriluz!!! Lupe and Conchita give their blessings (for them to attend their meeting) and leave. Jesús walks up just in time to see him kissing her hand and confirming their date(!). RIP Marisús. Just kidding. We’ve all seen the credits, but this couple is fun and entertaining for a change.

It’s time for los Ruíz Montalvo to make their appearance at the races as the perfect family. Doménica is boycotting (for obvious reasons) and Carloca is whining about Augi sending Jesùs ahead. Augi sweet talks his wife and favorite firestarter, and they head out.
 

Guerrero Capítulo 76 Part 2 of 3

Doménica asks Mari if she should tell Mommy Dearest about Augi’s dalliance. Mari cannot believe he would do such a thing. Domís says he’s fallen from the pedestal, and maybe MD is right. There’s no such thing as an honest man. Mari brings up Damián. If this were Family Feud, she’d get a big red strike. Damián knew and didn’t tell her. She doesn’t know if she can forgive him. She doesn’t think she’ll take him back.

Selena shows up at the garage where Sam is wearing his racing suit. He explains he broke up with her because he didn’t want to mislead her. Things were going so well; she wants to know what happened. Does he like Briana? He teases her and tells her not to get mad…but…he doesn’t like Bri either. She wishes she could stay mad at him, but she can’t. She knows that (old) maneater is taking advantage of Sam’s innocence. She agrees to just be friends - a friend that will protect him from Bri! They shake hands and hug.

Elisa is in a chapel praying loudly for guidance. I’m concerned for the other people in the chapel as they are keeping their thoughts and prayers to themselves. Oh, snap! Guadalupe enters the same chapel and takes over lead vocals. She’s giving thanks for Mariluz’s recovery. Elisa lights a candle and then walks out - dropping a rosary. Lupe catches up and returns the rosary. She recognizes her and asks if Elisa remembers her!

Guadaloopy thinks maybe she knows her from the flower market but then convinces herself that she’s mistaken. She invites Elisa to the Pozolería. Elisa is very grateful she returned the rosary as it has significant sentimental value. Lupe has to run but asks her name. Elisa says, “Corelli.” Lupe leaves and Elisa remembers that Guadalupe García is the daughter of Conchita, Augi’s NANNY! Good thing Lupe didn’t recognize her!!!

Adrián & Emma are in the marketplace. He gives her an indoor task so that he can stay out and ask around for Margarito Albizú. A mariachi(?) points him in the direction of a store when Mrs. Albizú works. She will know where he is. He finds her and finds Margarito. Does he remember Amelia Sánchez?

D’oh! The mariachi calls Fede and tells him someone is sniffing around for Margarito. Fede doesn’t remember Margarito. The mariachi brings him up to speed.

While chit chatting with Emma, Mrs. Albizú reveals that she remembers when Victoriana was preggers, how Mommy Dearest was a raging witch. Hormones are blamed. Patio eyes roll. Outside, Mr. Albizú tells Adrian that Amelia was the love of his life, but she disappeared without a trace. He never found a clue. He confirms she wanted a white wedding; hence, they never had relations. Emma clumsily interrupts this trip down memory lane, and they head back to the finca.

Fede has everything ready to head to the racetrack, but Augi wants him to find the permit for the imported Colombian coffee seeds. Someone calls Fede and tells him the kid (Adrián) has left and he couldn’t catch up with him.

At the racetrack, Jesús is on the phone with someone - telling them if they review the merchandise, they’ll see that the serial numbers don’t match. The mechanics never saw the invoices; everything was handled by Augusto + nephew. He’s confident the callee will find everything he needs to prove he’s telling the truth.

Sam wants to know if Damián will be calling Doménica. She’s not there! Damián says nope. It’s time to release the Augi & Bri photos! Jesús authorized it. He clicks around on his phone. [Published!]
 

Guerrero Capítulo 76 Part 3 of 3

Emma is asking the finca’s main housekeeper about MD’s pregnancy. She’s told Vic had a difficult pregnancy, and she was pissed off all the time. Actually she was frustrated. She wanted to become an architect, but she couldn’t with a baby. Emma is slowly putting two and two together.

MD & Carloca are making their way to their seats when the latter gets the pictures of Augi & Bri on her phone. She shows MD.

Augi makes a grand (late) entrance at the track. The press is champing at bit for interviews. The photographers are snapping photos left and right. He takes a time out to ask Jesús & Crew if they now see why winning is so important. Jesús let’s the cat out of the bag regarding Fede’s refurbished parts. Fede lies, and the press pounces.

They start with some soft questions. Augi volleys his answers, and Patricio soon joins. Now before we get to the good stuff, it must be noted that Valero (in a red cap) has been mugging and waving to the cameras this whole time). LOL

An official shows up and serves a complaint against Augi for fraud. Augi’s auto parts are stolen so he can’t race.

MD is in denial and saying the pictures must be Photoshopped and cannot be believed. Carloca is physically swatting the crowd with her purse (LOL).

Augi gets on his high horse and asks if the authorities know who they are dealing with! He basically starts pounding his chest and declaring sainthood. Patricio begs him to shut up. He finally does, and they leave. Fede ushers out the press.

Carloca tells MD the photos look real to her, but she’s on her side. They try to leave. [It’s unusual (but smart) that Carloca isn’t blindly defending Augi right now. Remember, MD knows a little about Baby Iker.]

Augi plays the “That’s not my signature” card with the racing officials and swears this is all a setup. Patricio is weary of another scandal. It should also be noted that Los Guerrero are grinning like Cheshire cats this whole time. Jesús cooly tells Augi that they should get Fede’s take on all this.

Next is a flurry of activity at the races. Fede sees some hoodlums approaching and calls security. MD bum rushes Augi about Bri, and Carloca shows him the photos that are breaking social media.

Back home MD is on a tear about how fed up she is. Augi dismissively says he has bigger problems. Today he lost a fortune and his prestige is at an all time low. MD points out the fortune he lost was HER money. She’s done! She will find an attorney, fight for her money, and file for D-I-V-O-R-C-E. Augi remains calm.

Fede is reading his partner-in-cheap-parts the Riot Act. Partner says there must be a whistleblower - someone who wants to jack you up.

Mari and Doménica are still commiserating about menfolk. Domís asks about her childhood sweetheart. Mari says she’s found and confirmed him, but ooh la la, he moved to France. Brrrrrrring - Domís gets an alert. It’s the pictures of Augi & Bri. She races to see if MD has seen them.

Emma comes back home and is greeted by a Welcome Home party of 2 (MD +.a wine glass). Ems wants to talk and share her triumphs at the finca. MD is not in the mood. Emma wants to know if MD hates her because she kept her from being an architect. MD goes on a brutal rant about what a screwup Emma has been…And I swear I am not typing anymore of their dysfunctional crap until they say something new!

Good Morning O.S., thank you for another sensational recap! If I retyped everything that made me laugh I'd be retyping all morning and I have a busy day today so we can't do that! :)

I think my favorite was: 'If this were Family Feud, she’d get a big red strike.' Too true!! Sadly.

I am team Partriluz too! We won't win but we can root all the way down! I hadn't noticed the song during the episode but I looked it up on youtube, beautiful! I recognized Eliza Gonzales who is featured in the official video and is a singer/actress. She was in one of the early novelas I watched many years ago Lola, una vez...like maybe 2008 or so. It was a youth show and really cute but also really wacky with enchanted everything, and magic growing trees and I don't even remember what else - but I still listen to some of the songs from that show her voice is beautiful.

I like that Sam and Selena broke up and are becoming friends. Now hopefully, when (if, but hey we've seen the credits) they reconcile maybe we can get a true romance budding that it's built upon them both truly falling for each other and not Selena seducing innocent Sam because Fede made her do it! At least that is what I am hoping for! Please, writers!!!

Jesus handled the outing of the parts very smartly. Doing it at the races but before the race and with the authorities shutting them down. Augi gets his humiliation and the race is lost/forfeited but Jesus can't be blamed for it or be associated with losing since the cars never drove. And then to have Augi/Bri photos linked at the same time! Brillant.

I wonder how much Fede is going to be in trouble with Augi, not to mention his bookie. Although I guess maybe since Augi didn't race the gambling thing might be okay, not sure how that works.

I just can't feel sorry for MD. I know that Augi treats her horribly, gaslights her, killed her father and is controlling her financially; but she's such a horrible person and so awful to Emma that I don't feel one ounce of sympathy for her. I don't know if the writers are trying to make her sympathetic but it's failing with me. I only feel for Emma.

Loopy grates more and more on my nerves. I was trying to remember the last time I saw a novela portray one of the 'good' characters so unlikable and I am drawing a blank. Usually mother's are toxic and evil or good and loving. Loopy has parts of all of the above! She's too controlling and overbearing. Mica is right she was way out of line with Valero! Mari is a grown woman and is way past the age of choosing for herself who she does or doesn't want to have visiting her! I can understand to an extent the Jesus thing as I've said before, because of the Carloca of it all, but this banning everyone who has any connection to Jesus is ridiculous.. I just don't like the character at all! She's a bad good guy and I won't root for her! :(

Just a reminder. I am out of town next week and will not be able to do recaps for Monday or Tuesday. I hope to stay engaged in the conversation though. It's a big, all week team meeting and team building type trip and I know events are planned all week that include dinners and such so I am not sure what the time line will look like and how that will translate into being able to watch timely and comment but I will do my best!

Guerrero. Excellent recap, O.S. "detective Augi." Cute! Ah, too bad Albizu can't be Adrian's father. It would solve the problem of Adrian's and Emma's possible blood relationship. (We can only hope Vicky was unfaithful then too). Yes, it was very likely Jesus who informed the authorities that the replacement parts were stolen. Fede's scheme comes back to bite him (since he's fired), but I agree, Darcy, he now may be ok with the bookies from his bet against Augi's team winning. Yes, O.S., if Patricio truly is the honest man he appears to be, he would likely bet a good match for Mariluz. Too bad he's not the galan. Selena seems very sweet and truly cares for Sam. Beanie cap! Evidently there is only 1 church in Mexico City (just as there is 1 hotel, 1 bank, 1 hospital, etc.). Vicki is even more incredibly cruel to Emma than ever and explains all the selfish reasons why she never loved her. Oh oh! If Vicki files for divorce does that mean she's not long for this world? Not that anyone would miss her. Have a great trip, Darcy!

Hi, all! Just checking in fast (from my work computer) to let you know that my laptop is officially dead (not buried, since I plan to hold onto it in the hope of retrieving some photos).
I'm repainting my living room. And my daughter has the flu. And my parents cancelled their trip to visit us because my dad is sick. And I might be changing jobs... When it rains, it pours, apparently.

As you can imagine, I've had no time to watch, think or snark about Corazon Guerrero (as much as I like that last part). And I'm afraid I have to throw in the towel when it comes to this novela, it's impossible to care about it when I have so much stuff going on around me.

I'm very sorry I have to bail!! I hope I can come back when things settle a bit, but most likely that will be with another novela.

Adriana, I am sorry to hear your laptop is officially dead! :( I was hoping you'd be able to save it. I know how difficult it can be when you are in one of those when it rains it pours seasons, but just remember the rainbow comes after the pouring! I hope you are able to get to the other side quickly.

We will miss you as SpanProf said and I hope both your daughter and father feel better really soon!
