CAMINO Ep 81 Part 1

At the hospital, Humberto wants to leave; and Lola argues that he has to stay. Suddenly they hear much commotion and hear the paramedics say that that they have a patient with a gun shot wound and his vitals are very low. As they wheel by Humberto, he notices it’s Mac! After the nurse asks if he knows the patient and Humberto tells her that he is his daughter’s ex-husband, Humberto suffers a sharp pain in his arm. A doctor is quickly called and Humberto is wheeled away.

Fausto checks in a sleeping Isa and turns off the lights.

Gaby and JP are still kissing. JP tells her that in the deepest part of her soul, he found the woman he loves and with whom he wants to share his life, his body and his heart belong to her. Gaby responds that she she is happy being in his arms; she loves him. They kiss again.

Amparo notices that Ursula has left with the baby. Grace cackles that Ursula probably left while they were bickering. Yo lies as she explains that is the reason Mac brought the baby over here; he found out Ursula was out and wanted to protect the little Angel. Amparo quickly texts Memo to tell him that his son has been found and is with Ursula. Yo hopes that they don’t hold this against Mac because he only took the baby so he wouldn’t be in danger. Amparo’s phone rings and it’s Lola who tells her that she is at the hospital with Amparo’s father…and he is being taken care though he was about to have a heart attack. Lola then tells her that Mac was brought in with a gunshot wound…it seems like he is in critical condition. Amparo has been staring at Yo with eyes wide open, so Yo asks what’s wrong. Amparo tells her Mac is in the hospital and in critical condition. Yo tells Grace that they need to go immediately, but Grace refuses.

Karen has taken Sandra to another hotel and tells her she will be safe there until they can wait for another opportunity to have her talk to Memo. Sandra appreciates all her help; Aaron keeps calling her and she doubts he will stop. Karen assures that Sandra need not worry; it won’t be long before her brother ceases being a problem. Sandra wonders why she said that, but Karen only tells her to trust her.

Aaron arrives at his apartment and finds Fausto waiting for him, pointing a gun and wearing plastic gloves. While he waited, Fausto was remembering that time when he was here pointing a gun at him; he has a thousand reasons to shoot him and kill him like the dog he is, but he didn’t have the courage to pull the trigger. Aaron notes that Fausto is upset and assures that the problem is under control; neither the trailero nor Fausto's wife talked to the nurse. Fausto’s couldn’t understand how a professional like Aaron could delay the job for so long; he reminds Aaron that he told him to kill Sandra more than once, but she is still alive putting at risk HIS freedom, HIS plans! Aaron argues that Sandra knew how to hide; he looked for her everywhere. Still pointing his gun at him and moving closer, Fausto sarcastically remarks that the trailero had the luck to find her first . After Aaron assures that he will find, Sandra, Fausto knows he won’t! Because all this time he has been protecting her; he is a dog that bites his owner! As he adds that he knows the nurse is his sister, Fausto takes out the picture and throws it at Aaron.

Grace finds the money and exclaims, “Lottery!” As she holds up bundles of money, she remarks that this is very little compared to what Mac owes her! All the humiliations, the scorn, the sadness and the abandonment she has had all her life!

Aaron asks where Fausto got the picture, but Fausto thinks that doesn’t matter, he is is dirty, betraying rat! Aaron sneers that Fausto couldn’t shoot him the first time, he won’t do it now. They should talk like the “friends” they are. Fausto mocks that he is only his pet; this is not the first time he acts against his owner…so better to sacrifice the dog. When Aaron reminds Fausto that if he dies, all (Fausto’s) secrets will come out, Fausto is willing to take that risk!

CAMINO Ep 81 Part 2

Fausto sternly asks where his sister is! Aaron asks for a couple of days to bring him her head, but Fausto doesn’t trust him and followed his advice…no one saw him come in and no one will see him leave! Aaron smirks as he reminds Fausto that they’ve been through this before…Fausto doesn’t have what it takes to kill in cold blood! Fausto reminds him that he himself told him that the day would come, and that day is today!

Dani and Chuchita arrive home yelling out for Isabela. JP tells her that she isn’t there. Dani cries that Fausto took her little girl!

Memo arrives home to find Ursula with the baby. Memo was very worried, so Ursula assures that Martin is fine. Amparo and she found him at a nearby town. Memo comments that he already knew since Amparo sent him a message, As Ursula hands over Martin to Memo, he tells her that he also knows that Mac took the baby to Yo since he found out she was out of the clinic and worried that she would harm the baby. Ursula stated that he, Mac and the others were wrong because she would be incapable of hurting her son. As Ursula gets closer to the baby to caress him, Memo moves back slowly reminding Ursula of what she did, she is not well. Ursula looks at him as she tells him she is well now, she recovered her sanity…that is why they let her leave the clinic. She cries that she knows she made many mistakes and pleads that Memo not separate her from her son. Martín is all she has in the world. If she were not well, she would have run away but she didn’t; she doesn’t want to hurt him anymore, he doesn’t deserve it, but Martín is her son and she does not intend to leave him.

Fausto is pointing the gun close to Aaron’s left temple. Aaron smirks as he tells him to go ahead and shoot. There is a close up of Fausto’s finger on the trigger as he pulls it! THUMP!! Fausto comments that he (Aaron) finally stopped barking! He smiles as he adds, “dead dog…ends the rage.” Fausto places the gun in Aaron’s hand and walks out…smiling.

Lupita wakes and thanks Sebas who spent the night to help her take care of Chema. Sebas tells her that it is in the Gentleman ‘s rulebook to never leave your penguinita alone when she needs you (cute!)…and he knows she is very worried about her little cousin and her father. Lupita cries that she doesn’t want her father to die, so Sebas assures her that all will be well. After she thanks him again, Sebas smiles as he tells her that his love is lifelong, he will always be by her side loving her more and more. When she reminds him that he didn’t use to believe eternal love, Sebas replies that he didn’t know her then; she showed him to love and how to dream; and now he believes in eternal love; they will grow old together and carry their grandchildren. Lupita wouldn’t like anything more than that. Sebas promises that is how it will be. After they kiss, Sebas comments that he knows their parents asked them to wait, but if they have no doubts, they should do it, they should get married! He gets on one knee and tells her he wants her to be his wife!; he wants to marry her tomorrow! He is surprised when she say “no” so Lupita clarifies “not tomorrow, but soon”. Things are not going well for her family…when her father and grandfather are better the of course she will be his wife! Sebas is ecstatic and picks her up twirling her as he repeats that he loves her. As they kiss, Gaby runs in and tells them that they’ve brought their grandfather home from the medical center!

Humberto complains that they are taking care of him as if he were a child. After Lola warns him not to be getting upset, the girls run in and hug him. Gaby tells him they will give him more hugs later because they want to go see their father. Amparo looks uneasy but only warns them that Yo will be there. Gaby assures that they will be polite with that lady. After the girls leave, Humberto asks Amparo why she is down. She replies that she is only worried about him. Lola assures her that she will take care of her father and make sure he goes to have the tests he needs.

CAMINO Ep 81 Part 3

Fausto meets with a young man who knows what he has to do—make sure no one sees him, throw the envelope at the entrance of the restaurant and return here with him…where Fausto will pay him well.

JP goes to talk to Grace. Grace thinks he is there to talk about the wedding, but JP blurts that he is not going to marry her! He knows he is risking that her mother will follow through with her threats but, he hopes Grace convinces her that she was also responsible for what happened. When Grace reminds him that she is a minor and he took advantage of her, JP tells her that is not true! She deceived all of them about her age, she had a fake ID. When he adds that all she has done is separate him and Gaby, Grace retorts that Gaby doesn’t deserve him! Gaby has always had everything…while she grew up with a father who spoiled her and loved her, Grace had nothing, Mac never gave her of his time! JP is taken aback as she continues that Mac never gave her affection, and not even his last name! She is also Mac’s daughter!

Dani goes to see Karen at her house and asks where her daughter is; where did Fausto to take her? Karen feigns ignorance, but Dani insists asking where Fausto is. After Karen asks how she would know since Fausto is Dani’s husband, not hers, Dani counters that she is his lover…and adds that Karen’s worst nightmare has become a reality, she has recovered her memory!

After Memo checks in on Martín and Ursula, Bernarda brings him another letter that was left for him. Memo is surprised to see that it is from Aaron, so he quickly opens it and starts to read: I know you and Daniela were close to talking to my sister. Sandra. I barely had time to stop it. I understand that you won’t stop until you find the truth. Olivia left you for me because I made her believe that I had money. She told me the baby she was expecting was mine, but I found out she was lying. I was enraged and decided to take vengeance—I took the baby from her arms and made her believe that baby had died. I found out Fausto and Dani wanted to adopt a child; so I told Sandra to give them the baby and tell them that the mother had died during childbirth. I know Daniela will never forgive me for hiding Isabela’s origin, and you for having killed Olivia. This is the truth you have been searching for, a truth that I cannot continue living with; and that is why, by the time you read this letter, I will be dead!

Karen asks what Dani remembers. Dani quickly responds, “Your betrayal. I never thought you could be capable of hurting me so much; you were my friend of the soul.” Karen realizes that is why Dani wanted to meet her at her house; she wanted to confront them both. Dani confirms but the only thing she hasn’t been able to remember is what happened after she arrived to her house. When she asks why she ended up at the hospital, Karen denies knowing; when she left there she was well. She continues that Dani ran her off from her house and told her she never wanted to see her again. Dani lashes that she was her daughter’s godmother, she was part of her family! What she did has no name! Karen is very sorry (not!); she didn’t want things to end this way. When she starts to talk about her relationship with Fausto, Dani doesn’t want to know! The only thing she wants is to find her daughter. If she has any inkling of shame, she will tell her where she is . When Karen reiterates that she has no idea, Dani urges her not to lie!

CAMINO Ep 81 Part 4

JP can’t believe Mac is Grace’s father. Grace explains that her mother started seeing the man knowing that he was married; she was hoping that he would leave Gaby’s mother to come live with them. When JP remarks that Mac divorced Amparo, Grace pointedly replies that it was 15 years after she was born! She asks if he knows what it’s like to live in the shadows. The disgraceful man never gave her his last name; he was never with her because he was with his family, with the children he DID care about. After JP asks why she worked at the restaurant, Grace snarls that she wanted to be close to her siblings, especially Lupita and Gaby, she HATES them! They had everything that she needed, and they both think they are better that she is (because they are!)…that fills her with rage! She admits using JP as part of her vengeance…if he doesn’t marry her, he will end up in jail!

At the confrontation, Karen knows that what she did is unforgivable; she tried to distance herself from Fausto…she wanted to forget him, but she couldn’t. She loves him! When Dani asks about Aaron, Karen replies that she tried with Aaron, but it didn’t work out. Dani wonders why Karen never told her. Karen responds that she had already explained it to Dani; and she understood…what it’s like to love a married man. Dani tells her not to compare this with her and Memo; she was never his lover! She gave up his love before losing her marriage and before he lost his. Karen reiterates that she did understand her because Dani couldn’t control her feelings for Memo.

JP reminds Grace that he did not abuse her; but she sneers that is not what the police will hear; she will tell them how she begged him to stop…and he forced himself on her. She will destroy his life and his dreams for preferring Gaby! JP retorts that she is worse than he thought…he prefers to spend the rest of his life in prison rather than marry a person as rotten as she is! He storms out leaving Grace with her jaw on the floor.

Karen tells Dani that losing her friendship is one of the most hurtful things that has happened to her. When she offers to help find her goddaughter, Dani retorts that she would rather do it herself because she doesn't need the help of a traitor like her! After, Dani leaves, Karen sneers, “Stupid! You should be dead!”

Fausto continues working his evil wickedness on Isabela who is crying incessantly. He tells her how her mother’s betrayal hurt him, but she has him…and they need to be more reunited than ever.

At the hospital waiting room, Gaby tells Yo that she can leave, but Yo refuses because she loves her father and she will be marrying him. As they argue, the doctor comes in and tells them that Mac woke up. The surgery was a success, the bullet was removed and Mac is stable (how many lives do rats have?) Gaby asks if they can see him and when the doctor tells them that Mac can’t have too many visitors at one time, the girls insist on going in first.

Now in Mac's room, the girls are telling him that they were worried…they will always treat him with respect because after all, he is their father. When Lupita asks who shot him, Mac lies that he has a gambling debt and the people whom he owes is capable of anything. Gaby asks why he took Martín, and he lies again that he found out Ursula was out of the clinic and he wanted to protect Martín.

Yo has called Grace to ask is she is coming to the hospital. Grace tells her that if it were up to her, that man can die…she hates him! He is fed up with him, with her and this damned town! She is leaving today! Yo thinks she is leaving with JP, so Grace tells her “no”…JP doesn’t love her and he never will, nobody loves her. Yo tells Grace that she loves her, but Grace thinks Yo cares more about that man than her daughter! And Grace is letting Yo know, she is taking all the money Max left there! Que!? Yo starts ranting but Grace hangs up on her.

CAMINO Ep 81 Part 5

JP approaches and tells her that he has already told Grace that there will be no wedding! Yo responds that he is doing a good thing; he shouldn’t be manipulated. She then adds that Grace lied to him; that night when he was drunk, he fell asleep. Grace made up the whole thing just to make him feel obligated.

Dani is driving along when Memo calls to tell her that Sandra was Aaron’s sister…they were the ones who stole Isabela and destroyed Olivia’s life. After Dani asks how he found out, Memo tells him about the letter Aaron wrote before killing himself. Dani rushes over to Memo.

(Skipped scene) At the recording studio, Chuchita is commenting to Leo how Dani is so worried because she has no news about Isa. As they talk, Monica approaches and butters up Chuchita. She looks at the outfits Chuchita has made and chooses one to wear to a program that she and Leo will be participating in.

Fausto calls Ursula who tells him that Dani is at the truck stop. Fausto tells her that he wants to meet with her in half an hour.

After Dani tells Memo that she has no news about Isa, Memo assures he that they will find her. He then tells her that he will talk to a lawyer to get custody of Isa. Dani thinks that is thing he could do and she wants to accompany him so the lawyer can start her divorce proceedings. As they kiss, Ursula enters! Memo tells her that he and Dani have started a relationship!

Monica has tried on an outfit and loves it! She then assures Chuchita that the relationship with Leo is just a publicity stunt. When Chuchita complains about the kissing, Monica tells her that there is nothing between her and Leo; in real life, Leo is Chuchita's, but on stage, he is Monica’s. Leo’s career is about to take off, but if Chucho doesn’t accept the pact, she will stop everything! Monica then assures Chuchita that after the duet hits, she and Leo will end their relationship in a very scandalous manner…and Leo will be all hers. Monica then dangles a carrot telling Chuchita that she will wear her designs and people will recognize her as a designer....her creations will be in the best designer shops!

Leo is with Max who shows him his first promo poster. Leo tells him that the name is wrong but Max tells him that is sage name will be Leo Duran sine "Santos" just won't work Leo tries to argues that he is very proud of his last name, but Max sternly tells him that is how things are done here...so Leo needs to get used to it.

CAMINO Ep 81 Part 6

Ursula can't congratulate Memo and Dani because the news breaks her heart. Memo reminds her that he is free. When Ursula points out that Dani is married, Dani responds that she is about to get a divorce. Ursula tells them they can do whatever they want, but Martin will sty with her! Memo tells her they can discuss that later....after her fits, he won't leave Martin alone with her...until he is 100% sure that she is well. When he reminds her that she put her life and the baby's life in danger, Ursula insists that she is well now. Memo won't trust her until he has the doctor's written assurance that she is well. Ursula concedes but adds that Martin needs his mother. As they leave, Ursula shows Dani how she is not holding anything against her...she asks that Dani make Memo very happy. Once they are outside, Ursula hisses that she wishes she could drag the lizard with her wrecker!

Karen tells Fausto that Dani is desperate to find Isabela. After she tells him that Dani recovered her memory and reproached her for being his lover, Fausto asks her to stay with Isabel because he has something important to do. Once he is gone, Isa is very happy to see her godmother.

Fausto meets with Ursula who is fuming since she found Dani and Memo kissing....and Memo admitted that they were in a relationship. Fausto assures her that they won't be together for long; he has Isabela and neither of them will see her again! When Ursula tells him that Dani told her that she is starting the divorce proceedings, Fausto responds that is why he asked her to come--he needs her help to become a widower before Dani divorces him! She asks what he wants her to do, so he explains that she drives a wrecker so she must know a lot about mechanics; they would both benefit if Dani suffers a fatal accident!

Rgv Chick, this was a spellbinding, extraordinarily written summary. Every storyline seems to be heading into a frenzied crescendo and your narrative was perfect.

Aaron knew firsthand how vicious, and merciless Fausto is. While Fausto may have shown himself to have a yellow streak previously, Aaron should never have taken that for granted. Did he really think Fausto would not discover who Sandra was? He should have realized the mere idea that he, Fausto’s “dog” betraying him would be enough to fill him with white hot rage. All to his detriment. I have to admit how clever of Fausto to write the letter supposedly from Aaron, taking all blame!

Daniela and Memo cannot get one moment of happiness before being ruined.

I laughed out loud at “(how many lives do rats have?)” Well, Macario certainly has at least two! I was surprised he lived but should have known better. A telenovela rule of thumb is never assume until you see the actual corpse in the coffin being lowered into the ground.

I was also surprised Yo told JuanPa the truth about Grace. Did she do that because she is assuming Grace took the money and ran?

JuanPa and Gaby have reunited seemingly stronger than ever and Sebastian and Lupita vow to marry soon. This is all joyous but all I am feeling is nagging sensation of uneasiness.

Seeing Isabela cry in Fausto’s arms was so upsetting.

Rgv Chick, thank you for this incredible recap.

Well said.
I wished MAC the rat died. I’m so sick of his lies, right after he opened his eyes to his daughter’s in the hospital— he lied!! Uggh I can’t stand him.

I actually felt bad about Fausto killing Aaron. Not that Aaron was a saint, but I felt like he had no life, his choice to be Fausto’s dog, and Karen’s fake love - he never had happiness. It was just like at the end he was trying to do good, save his sister & wanted to love Karen - but his life of lies caught up with him.

Frosto is such a sociopath. To smile and leave after killing a person is so sick.
Now he is gaslighting Isabella.

Karen might be the worst of them all.
We have yet to see.

Ursula is off her rocker & if she follows Frosto’s directions - then we are in for more tears.

There is a part of me that wishes Grace a better life with the stolen money - in a way, I would rather see her have it then MAC - he will only gamble it away in days & so let Grace go out and start fresh. How cruel he was to her an entire life & Yo let him be that way towards their child. Traumatic in all ways for a kid.

Thank you so much for you excellent recaps and the comment that followed.

Camino

Thank you Rgv chick! You captured every minute, every twist and turn as we continue to build up to what is sure to be a dramatic close!

This is a bad day for Amparo, when it rains it pours, the second Martin is okay, Martin is potentially in danger again with Ursa, then before she can even determine that she gets a call that her dad is in the hospital because he almost had a heart attack!! You can tell it’s ‘Ultimos Capitulos’ because it’s hit-hit-hit-hit!!

I wouldn’t be mad if Grace took off with the money and got away with it! Especially knowing Mac is alive I’m more tempted to laugh imagining Mac’s reaction when he learns Grace stole all his stolen money than I am going to be upset if Grace escapes an anvil. She’s done some horrible things but she’s villain-light around here compared with all the murderers and child traffickers! And with the parents she’s had I kind of want to believe she could run away and find happiness against all odds; who knows if she would make the best of a fresh start or just make more trouble wherever she landed but I could live with it if that’s how her character exits. Maybe away from everyone she would learn to let go of her resentment. Maybe she’d even grow up and realize that her half-siblings aren’t to blame for her father’s actions. Even better, if she learned she can have a happy healthy life despite the fact that both of her parent left a lot to be desired.

I wonder why Mac lied to cover for Ursa shooting him, but I don’t think I want to know.

I wasn’t surprised that Fausto actually killed Aaron, but the scene did trick me because it sounded more like a gun misfire than a shot so I was expecting to still see Aaron still standing there and was surprised to realize he was actually shot! And then, agh!!! Stupid, smart Fausto and his ‘suicide letter’ for Aaron!! It won’t stand of course but for the moment Memo takes every word at face value and Fausto is in the clear! Sandra is still alive though as far as we know so fingers crossed, she manages to stay out of Fausto’s clutches.

Karen trying to convince Dani that she already explained her affair to her and that Dani had told her that she understood her!!! LOLOLOLOL That was the laugh of the night right there!

The one bright side of Yo and Grace’s dysfunctional relationship Yo tells JP the truth to spite Grace!!! Now JP is truly free from the threat of Grace. Meanwhile, more too cute scenes between Sebas and Lupita and even an engagement, I want to believe we are just headed to happily ever after, but like Diana I feel nothing but dread

Thanks, Rgv Chick, a great recap filled with all the extremes of this episode! I was really surprised that Aaron was really dead, kept expecting his hand to move or something. But he didn’t really manipulate people, he was basically a hired assassin, so a fitting end. And that wasn’t the first time he mentioned that if he died all his secrets would come out. That should be interesting. I wonder if Fausto wrote the suicide note. If so Dani will recognize his handwriting. But if he was smart he got someone else to write it.

I loved how JuanPa told off Grace. He’d rather spend his life in jail! She can leave with the money, I can’t wait to see Mac’s face when he finds out. Yolanda will spend her life supporting him, that’s fitting. But hopefully he’ll end up in jail. I think he didn’t tell on Ursula because if she has the baby he can still sell it.

I feel so sorry for Isabela. Fausto will hopefully get what he deserves. I can’t wait till everyone knows he had his own parents killed. I bet he was mad Eugenio survived.

Not sure if Leo will go along with the name change. The Santos are pretty proud of who they are! But Chuchita seemed pretty swayed by Monica’s offer. But I hope she turns it down and becomes famous without Monica’s endorsement.

The truths are beginning to come out and the baddies are falling by the wayside. But I think we still have some hurdles to leap!

Dear Chickie, thank you for piloting us on a wild ride as this story careens towards its ending .

As soon as the camera focused on that briefcase under the table, I just knew that Grace would find it and probably flee with it to parts unknown.

So, Mac survived the bullet . Can't wait for him to find out that Grace took the briefcase .

My theory was that Aaron would finally get tired of being ordered around and kill Faust and Karen. Looks like they will have to take out each other . Evil vs evil.

After all the angst and evil, I think some folks will get HEAs...Dani and Memo, Amp and Eugenio, Seb and Lupy, JP and Gaby. We need some happiness after all the sadness.

Does anyone know when the finale is.?

Camino

Susanlynn, I believe there are 92 episodes so assuming there are no preemptions the grand finale would either be two weeks from tonight, or a two hour finale two weeks from yesterday if they do a two hour finale as they like to do.

Part 1 of 5

Elena was an idiot admitting in front of the police that she had contracted Olmos, Armando told Elena to call his lawyer. Then Fuentes advised Armando of his Miranda rights. They cuffed him and took him away. Sofia asked Elena why this happened. Armando told her he was going to give a statement. Gerardo said this is a mistake and it will be resolved. Martin asked why they arrested his father and Gerardo said he would be back. He led them into the dining room while Elena went to call the lawyer. The uniformed cops put Armando into the car and drove off.

Lamberto told Angela off about her public escandalos y groserias. He was tired of her rudeness to Silvia and the Morales family. Furthermore she provoked the slap Silvia had given her. Angela had intended to humiliate Silvia as a tit for tat. Again, Angela played the forged Victim Card. Lamberto had been prevented from marrying Silvia. When Angela asked he had admitted that she was a consolation prize. But despite that she had been beautiful and sensual, the love never happened as expected. He now had the opportunity to go back to Silvia and she laughed when he said the D word.

Elsa demanded to know why her mother was as she was; Leonidas told her that the trauma was horrible and strong emotions would provoke this. Elsa questioned whether the treatment was the right one and he stood on his Professional knowledge, blaming Estela's reaction on Elsa and the others for insisting on visiting her. He tried to BS her and Padre Reynaldo pointed out that he has known Estela long enough to know that her current state is nothing normal for her. He had visited many hospital patients in his time and had never seen anything like this. Leonidas was not phased and Elsa said her mother would be better off at home. However Leonidas played the card of Round-the-Clock care by professionals. Elsa paused and turned to look at Flor.

Armando sat in Fuentes' office. The Commandante entered, quoting Armando's obvious motive for this crime. He went on about Angela being a beautiful woman, any man's dream, etc., so why didn't he com to an agreement with Olmos to make the photos disappear? When Armando didn't respond to that Fuentes implied that Elena had tried to conceal this. Armando denied that Elena had anything to do with this but Fuentes made it clear that if either of them had been accomplices he would interrogate them. Armando refused to say anything else before talking to his lawyer. Fuentes laughed slightly, then pulled out a plastic evidence bag, which contained the murder weapon. All he needed now was to have the ballistics experts look at it and compare the bullets to the ones retrieved from the body. Armando tried to bribe him to make the pistol disappear and end the investigation.

Angela poured her favorite poison. Lamberto wanted to discuss the divorce but Angela told him that will not happen. She could have the house and everything in it; she said that was insufficient. SSDD. She refused to let go of him despite of the misery.

“Everyone has his price,” Armando said. “Let's negotiate.” He offered him a million pesos ($53,055 US) in cash, but Fuentes said “I am incorruptible.” He picked up the gun and the photos. “Enjoy your stay.” He left Armando in his office as he went to the ballistics department.

Part 2 of 5

As they walked out of the manicomio Elsa asked Flor and the padre how this all happened. The younger kids did not see their mother immediately after the accident. The padre had seen her being driven away. She had been upset but nothing like they ever saw. Elsa was sure that her mother had been taken there against her will and she was determined to get her mother out . The padre said she could count on his help. They left.

Aurora went home and argued with her mother about Angela's behaviour at the Morales house. She accused her mother of not wanting anyone to love her. Angela denied this, repeating her same old song. She did not in any way want her to marry Carlos, saying he was beneath her. Claiming to speak from experience. She told Aurora she would just go running into another man's arms. “Don't marry Carlos. Do as I say. I won't bless this or do anything. And Hector is his father. This is worse than Armando.” She blamed Armando for their work situation.

Speak of the devil and his daughter appears: Elena called Angela to tell her about Armando's arrest and that he was the prime suspect in Olmos's death. Angela must have been sober because she didn't lose her composure. She ended the call without saying Elena's name, took her purse, and went out.

Gerardo started questioning Elena about why Armando got arrested when it was she who hired Olmos. Elena pleaded ignorance. Elsa, Flor, and the padre arrived before she could answer. Elsa asked what happened and Gerardo answered. Elena said that their father was incapable of this and Elsa said she was not so sure. She described Estela's condition and Gerardo said this was possible because these treatments are very aggressive. He told her that the kids were upstairs as he and Elena left to go to the police station.

Angela got there first, saying she needed to see Armando. The desk man informed Fuentes who told him to let her in [Is this even legal at this stage?]. When she sat down in that room he told her things were worse than they thought. The bribe attempt didn't work. He said there was one other possibility as in “No man can resist your charms.” [Egads!] Angela was not shocked, nor was she outraged.

Elsa tried reassuring her younger siblings but they were concerned about effectively becoming orphans and ending up in a facility. Elsa told them that they aren't orphans because their parents are alive and because they had her. She would see to it that their mother came home. Flor came in with a tray of freshly squeezed orange juice and Elsa asked if they'd like to watch a movie.

As Angela entered his office Fuentes turned the bulletin board around to face the bookcase. She sat down and after the usual pleasantries she said “Could we talk somewhere more private?” with the excuse that she was a little nervous in that environment. He may have sensed her intentions but then said they could meet at her office in an hour to have a drink. She agreed and left. He breathed relief as she exited.

Elsa went to her room and called Andres. She had to see him and told him to come to her house. He hesitated but she told him that her father had been arrested. She said to meet her in the garden, as usual.

Lamberto went to Silvia's house but she was not at home. He said he would wait for her outside but Antonia would not hear of it. He was there to talk about what had just happened and that he was seeking a divorce.

Elsa ran out to meet Andres and told him what happened. That she suspected that her father forced her mother into the manicomio. He embraced her.

Fuentes arrived at Angela's office and they began talking. She got him to say that Armando is suspected of murder because Olmos tried blackmailing him and Armando decided to eliminate him rather than pay him. She got up and poured him a drink. He stood up and started the come-on. E could not gt the photos out of his head. She said that the photos did not prove that a murder was committed. They only prove a forbidden relationship and he knew what that would mean if they were made public. He touched the ends of her hair and she quickly retreated behind the desk. He said she was the one who suggested a more private location. She said it was so they could talk without interruption. He then said he would leave. That if he discovered that she is Armando's accomplice that her beauty will not save her. He drank down the booze and left. [The slut began crying. How amusing.]

Silvia got home and they repeated their usual conversation.

Elsa told Andres that there had to be a way to get her mother out of there. He said to get a second opinion but she had heard Gerardo say that this was not unusual. She did not trust Leonidas. Andres told her he would help her find another doctor. They kissed and were caught.

But not by Elena, who was at the police station. Fuentes told the desk man that Armando was not to have visitors. “But Señora Angela – ” “No! No visitors!” Elena protested, then became as rude as Angela usually is. Gerardo shut her up by saying that the lawyer will handle this, then led her outside.

It was Flor who had caught Elsa and Andres. She had freaked out because of the danger if Armando had found out. She warned her of the consequences.

Andres spoke with Luis about Elsa's problem. Luis said he would call his cousin Gaspar who worked in a psych hospital.

Elsa and Flor continued their conversation over coffee. Flor agreed that they had to get Estela out of that place. Elsa then felt sick and ran to the bathroom. When she came out Flor asked when she had had her last period. It was three months ago and Elsa said that had to have been from stress. She had vomited several times because the food at the Magdalene house was so bad. Flor said she needed to get a pregnancy test. Elsa refused to believe she was pregnant. Flor suggested that she talk to Gerardo but Elsa was afraid he would say something to Elena. Flor was confident that Gerardo would not.

Part 3 of 5

Angela went back to the police station. Fuentes allowed her to see Armando, then peeked through the blinds on his office window. Angela told Armando this was not a good idea and informed him of Fuentes' threat. She suggested that Armando just offer him more money.

Antonia told Andres about Lamberto's visit. He was still not ready to believe any of this would happen. He became angry and left saying he will talk to him.

Fuentes looked at the photos [which by now should be in an evidence file] and put them in his desk drawer. He then went to see Armando in the interrogation room. Armando was as cold as an iceberg as he asked if he would accept his new offer. Fuentes replied that two million sounded good but he needed one thing beyond that: to spend one night with Angela. Armando told him he had to be insane and Fuentes said it wasn't insane to want to be with a woman like her [He doesn't know the half of this]. Stalemate. Fuentes left the room, not seeing Armando's expression that probably meant he had been outfoxed. He finally said that Angela would have nothing to do with this. Fuentes put his hand on Armando's shoulder and said to think about it. He knows how women are and what they are willing to do when the chips are down.

Angela was getting wasted in a bar. Hector asked the bartender how many drinks she had had and he said “Five.” Hector brought Angela her sixth drink and said something about the last time she had been at his home and her issues with Lamberto. Angela was definitely intoxicated as she spoke of Lamberto as worthless. Hector told her that drinking doesn't solve problems and that she should go home. He offered to have an employee of his take her home but she declined. He told the barman to call a taxi.

Later Elena was brushing her hair when Gerardo decided it was time for some nooky. Which she resisted once again. He picked her up, put her onto the bed, and tried again only to have her push him away again. He asked her what was wrong and she said “Nothing.” She refused to talk about any of this and left the room. He finally asked “Did something happen that I don't know about?” She did not answer and left the room. He punched the dresser surface in frustration.

A letter opener with a significant blade lay on the sideboard near the Monteros' front door. Knocking. Aurora came to the door to ask who and Andres identified himself, saying he was there to talk to Don Lamberto. Aurora let him in and told him her father was not in. This became an argument over her refusal to recognize him as her half-brother and that this condition had happened before their father had married Angela. Aurora – por supuesto – ignored that and said that she would never recognize him as any part of her family. She pulled the Class Card again, blissfully unaware that she had none. He told her that like it or not he was a Montero for which she slapped him [We really should make a drinking game out of this] and shoved him back, saying that all she wanted was for him to disappear from the face of the earth.

She tried shoving him again, he grabbed her wrists, and she continued shouting. Angela entered, heard the screeching, and grabbed the letter opener. “What are you doing, you wretch?” she said. She got closer and said “You will not touch my daughter, you damned bastard” and stabbed him in the shoulder with the letter opener. She dropped as he stared at her in shock before slowly collapsing onto the floor. She looked down on him with an air of cold disdain.

Part 4 of 5

Lamberto came in and ran to Andres, demanding to know what happened. Angela tried to say she was defending their daughter. Lamberto sent Aurora to get towels and he held his hand on top of Andres' as he nearly closed his eyes.

Another detective stopped by Fuentes' office to tell him that Armando wanted to talk to him. Fuentes paused a moment then went to see him. Armando said he wanted to talk to Angela, saying that he could not guarantee her agreement. Fuentes smiled and held out his hand to shake. Armando raised his to indicate he was still cuffed. Fuentes then unlocked the cuffs, saying that tonight he could go home and rest. He had until morning to convince Angela and to admit to his children that he was a murderer and that he had an illicit relationship with his wife's best friend. Armando nodded that he understood. Fuentes then aid he was also to confess to “us incompetents.” [What move is this?]

Andres told Lamberto that Angela had stabbed him. Lamberto looked at Angela and demanded she call an ambulance. She refused. “What do you think's going to happen?” he shouted. “He will die.” Andres' eyes closed.

Silvia and Antonia talked about Andres. Antonia told her mother that Andres went to see Lamberto about his intent to marry her.

Lamberto called Gerardo, telling him there was an accident. He said he'd be right there. Elena asked what happened and who called.

Elsa tried calling Andres, but hung up when she only got his voicemail. She sent a text message.

When Gerardo arrived and saw that there had been blood on the floor Lamberto did not lie to him. Gerardo demanded to know why nobody called an ambulance. Lamberto had put Andres in Aurora's room. He was unconscious. He and Gerardo divested Andres of his shirt. Angela and Aurora left the room.

Elena's phone rang. It was Leonidas calling her because he could not reach Armando. He wanted to talk to him about Elsa's visit.

Gerardo told Lamberto that Andres was sleeping. Lamberto demanded to know what they were going to tell the police. Angela said that she was defending Aurora because Andres was trying to rape her.

UNIVISION/OT:

RGV Chick: I'm assuming "PIENSO" will be replacing "CAMINO" ?

CAMINO

Thank you, everyone! I had already written my long comment and responses, but my cat jumped on my keyboard and pressed something which closed my browser ARGGHHH!

Diana, I too thought Mac was a goner, but yeah, shoulda know better. And Monica, yes, his close call with death had no effect on his ability to lie!

The only thing that surprised me about Fausto killing Aaron was that he risked all his lies coming out. Did he really think Aaron wouldn't do something to bring him down??

Monica and Darcy, I too have mixed feelings about Grace who has had nothing but misery and abuse from her so-called parents. She does deserve to know love and happiness, but I think it will take a life-changing experience to change her ways. If not, she will become just as bad or worse than her parents.

Liz, I feel so bad for Isabela that I hate watching Fausto with her and even more so having to write about it so I write as little as possible.

Karen was so obnoxious and insincere! I wish Dani had slapped her ...a few times LOL

I cheered when JP told Grace off!

Susanlynn, "We need some happiness after all the sadness." AMEN, sister!!

UNIVISION/OT

Steve, I'm sure your assumption is correct. And though I don't care much for the main protags, this TN offers a very impressive cast...LOTS of good familiar faces!

Pecados

Thanks Urban, that was a great recap of all that happened. And there was a lot going on.

I had high hopes that Fuentes was a decent cop but my hopes were dashed. I can’t imagine Angela going along with this but I bet she does. She might have to to avoid an attempted murder charge against her. But I guess they’ll either keep the stabbing quiet or continue with the lie that he was attacking her daughter.

I had hoped we had passed the time frame for Elsa to discover she’s pregnant. That’s going to make her life very difficult.

How long will Elena and Geraldo’s marriage last? She’s not any kind of wife. And didn’t she find out that her dad and Angela were having an affair. But she’s still loyal to him.

I can’t imagine Elena ever being normal again. I hope she will be but not sure how they can get her out. We have a crooked doctor and crooked police. Not good! Guess it will be downhill for quite a while.

Liz

Perdona #14

I haven't counted Fuentes out completely yet. He and Armando are playing a chess game and he is an experienced cop or he wouldn't be in charge in this town. The big however is that this is a small town (although much bigger than Creel) and most police like catching big fish. We know nothing else about Fuentes such as his background, whether he is married or a parent, etc. WE also still don't know whether any of the parent characters in this tale have siblings or other relatives. Since Televisa doesn't make a practice of fully replicating previous versions of any remakes they do it could also be that the writers haven't entirely decided these issues.

There is no question that Elsa can't go back to the Magdalene house. Now that Armando is on the loose again her best option would be to leave town ASAP in the middle of the night. However, Andres' wound is going to delay that just long enough for someone to find out that she is pregnant. That's if Padre Reynaldo isn't able to help her although he will likely be the next person she will go to.

I do not see Gerardo and Elena's marriage lasting either. She is refusing to talk about why she rejects his advances. It's not like she doesn't know what humans who love each other should be doing. However, there is a big, nasty secret that she isn't talking about. Was it something that happened to her or something she only saw? It may still be a while before that revelation. Prediction, not Spoiler: This had something to do with Armando.

Aurora is no longer on my list of potential redemption. She and Angela deserve the ninth circle of hell for what they are now doing to Andres.

I was surprised Grace spilled all the beans about her origin. I guess she expects JP to tell Gabi. I'm glad she found the money. Mac doesn't deserve it because money doesn't love stupid people who love gambling.
Aron's end is just sad. I somehow thought he'd have enough of Fausto at some point and would go against him. His sister is the only person he's got and I wonder if she would have ended up dead eventually.
Yolanda asking Grace if she wanted to come was too much for me. What? Why would she want to come? Yolanda says she loves her, but if she did, she wouldn't have immediately wanted to take revenge. I'm glad JP knows the truth, but you don't try to get back at your own kids out of spite. I find it impossible to have sympathy for women like Yolanda, even if they do repent. It's a bit too late for that here I imagine. Why is she willing to tolerate Mac's nonsense? Isn't she sick of waiting?

So....did Aaron leave info of all Fausto 's dark deeds with sister Sandra?

Urban, thank you for detailing this gripping, upsetting episode so expertly.

Many fabulous lines but “She pulled the Class Card again, blissfully unaware that she had none” and “Speak of the devil and his daughter appears: Elena” especially stood out.

Angela has no heart, no soul. She didn’t even blink when she plunged the knife into Andres and “he will die” shows how bereft she is of any normal, human emotion. Aurora is unlikeable but hopefully she will not support Angela’s lies.

Liz, I thought Fuentes was on the up and up. He is pretty shrewd and would have been a formidable opponent for Armando had he not let his lust temper his judgement.

Elena seems to go through life’s daily motions lifeless and joyless. Urban, yes, her reaction to Gerardo last night showed something may have indeed happened to her.

So Lamberto “had been prevented from marrying Silvia” which doesn’t surprise me as he is one of the few good men here.

Hector at the bar brightened my night. He needs to rescue Estela.

Elsa is pregnant, no surprise.

Diana

PERDONA

Thanks you, Urban for the excellent recap.

Okay, the young ‘uns are not too smart.

Elsa had no idea she could be pregnant since they only did it once and she was only three months late.

Where or when is it ever okay for a man who is physically stronger than a woman to touch her or in this case try subdue her? As soon as Andrés touched Aurora, he was going to be blamed for whatever happened or was suggested to have happened because of the inequity in physical power. The smart thing would have been for him to have left. Nice plot twist (?) young galán wannabe ends up in jail on attempted rape charges with a pregnant girlfriend depending on him.

Will Armando force Angela to spend the night with Angela? I was sorry to see Fuentes being bought off.

Liz, I do not see how Gerardo and Elena’s marriage can last unless she moves out of “daddy’s” house and gets some counseling to see what the problem is nd if it can be overcome.

Urban, I agree that Elena’s problem could have something to do with Armando.

Diana, “Héctor at the bar brightened my night. He needs to rescue Estela.” With the fall of Fuentes, it looks like our only hope lies with Héctor.

Urban, wow...what an episode. Thank you giving us an excellent account of all the evil swirling around.

I had a feeling that Fuentes was not a good cop because it is way too early for Armando to be caught . The deal he wants to make with Armando is disgusting , but Armando and Angela are both disgusting . yuck..these people.

The mystery of why Elena keeps rejecting Gerardo deepens . why?

Angela stabs Andres ?????What???? She is a loose, drunken canon. She is a walking, talking mess. Yikes .

Andres was lucky to get that job with Luis because Luis seems to be all in on helping Andres in any way he can . Their bond formed very quickly. We usually see this type of loyalty shown between siblings or lifelong friends . Will Luis's cousin help to get Estella out of that awful place ?

Whoopsie: will Armando force Angela to spend the night with FUENTES?

Jarifa, although Armando gave Angela a meaningful look when he told her Fuentes wanted her, I was a bit surprised he didn't actually say she needed to do it. And as she has no morals, I was also surprised she didn't immediately offer to do so to "help" the love of her life. I have a feeling if she had found Fuentes attractive, that may have already occurred. She has her standards, right? :(

Susanlynn, Luis seems to be the only friend Andres has besides his kind but rather weak-willed father.

Rgv Chick, thanks for my afternoon treat. I'm happy as a clam catching up with your recap.

I'll admit I'm glad Mac survived. I'm still hoping this rat gets tarred and feathered before all the Santos (except Chem). No. 3, where are you? Come back and mix it up with Yolanda.

ITA all said on Grace. If she leaves with the cash, I'm fine with it. She'd hang onto it longer than Mac would have. But she's only 15/16 and needs to get in school and graduate. Silly girl had no positives in her life except for the Santos's, whom she betrayed.

Dang, sorry to see Aaron go by Fausto's hand. Aaron went down a hero of sorts for trying to protect his sister.

When Memo started reading the letter, I cheered because at first I thought it was from Aaron. Fausto is clever penning this, but I sure hope Aaron's earlier threats about revealing all if Fausto turned on him pans out. Aaron, please trump Fausto's letter.

Camino #81

Great work, RGV Chick. This is one of the craziest episodes yet as this tale comes to its end.

I didn't see Grace's "confession" coming but the circumstances probably left no room for it to happen any other way. While I think she needs an anvil because of how she treated everyone else -- including stealing from Amparo -- I'd rather she take the briefcase and run than have Macario gamble it all away in a couple of days. However, if he did that he would likely end up getting the cement overcoat treatment which is long overdue.*

Por favor, I don't want to see Daniela end up in hospital again.

Somehow or other I think we will end up with a "Perils of Pauline" sequence where Memo has to rescue both Daniela and Isabella from Fausto.

Fausto has become a cartoon villain in many ways. He only lacks the facial hair to be Snidely Whiplash.

*I have previously mentioned that Ursula and Cesar are "invisible" to the other characters in the party scene end credits. After appearing in the opening shot of this Macario is standing with his arm around an beautiful old-fashioned street lamp that doesn't look like it belongs on this set. Not moving and also apparently invisible to others.

Gracias, Urban. I love your recaps, details, commentary, snark, and all. This TN is more layered than I expected, and you put the pieces together with finesse.

Angela will have to guzzle plenty of booze before being able to stomach Fuentes. He is so beneath her class-wise in her mind, this could kill her. But what makes Armando think one time will make Fuentes drop the case. As long as Fuentes has the gun, Armando will be under his thumb. I can't stand Angela, especially after she stabbed Andres AND just stood there, but Fuentes's proposition is so eeeooooh!

If Elsa is pregnant -- still got my fingers crossed she's not and learned a lesson about BC -- at least she's in TN Land, where the pregnancies don't show until the 9th month. She'd be able to graduate from prison/school without Monster Superior ever knowing she was pregnant.

I must say the scene with Sabine Moussier and the detective in her office was well acted.

Niecie,
that's a very good point about Armando's expectations. He may now be in uncharted territory. That's why it's seriously important to check facial expressions and body language.

When recapping any story where police investigations are this important to the story attention to detail is crucial.

Camino #82 Part 1

Daniela is holding Martin as his sweet countenance watches her with the eyes of an angel. Memo sweetly notes how comfortable Martin is in Daniela’s arms. With a hint of sadness, Daniela remarks that even though she couldn’t give life with her own body, Memo and God have given her the opportunity to experience it with Isabela. She looks at Martin’s pure innocence and says she has been given another opportunity to do feel it with Martin. Then her face distorts as she cries that the anguish of losing Daniela is killing her! What wounds her the most is that Fausto reported her for taking Isabela from their home when he knew all along they were staying at the truck stop. He stole her and she has no idea where she is. Memo swears that they will find Isabela. Memo she says caressing his cheek, thank you for supporting me. She gently affirms she knows he is as worried as she. Memo holds her hand so oh so tenderly and kisses it. They are stronger together he promises her. Arguelles the lawyer will be here shortly to advise what the next steps are. Daniela, with a mild look of disgust, tells him about Karen’s “offer” to locate Isabela. She doesn’t believe a word of it but hope Karen has enough dignity to follow through; IF she actually loves Isabela as she claims. We offer thanks in that Daniela has been spared the vitriol with which Karen has treated her beloved daughter and moreover, how much she despises her.

Mi mamita Isabela cries heartbrokenly in Karen’s arms. Her mother never told her that she and papa Memo were doing something bad. Like what Medusa asks? She said Fausto showed her a picture of them kissing, like married parents do. Instead of trying to soothe the child, Karen poisonously spews that everyone knew what was happening between Daniela and Memo except her. Isa is old enough to understand what she is about to tell her (no she isn’t you harridan). People who betray their spouses with others are called amantes; which is what your mother and Memo are. It’s terrible and shameful and Karen will not lie to her; what they are doing is a sin! Isabela, lips quivering, heart breaking then asks if God is angry with them. Karen sneers that He never forgives amantes; and further, both are going to hell! And with this, Karen has added another stamp to her one-way ticket to the burning fires of the netherworld.

Memo apologizes to Daniela for the uncomfortable meeting with Ursula. Daniela admits it was very awkward but it is something they will need to get used to. She is Martin’s mother who doesn’t intend to keep away from Memo; she will always be part of their lives. Memo thinks Ursula’s reaction was much better than expected, in fact quite a bit more so. Daniela is relieved Ursula is well as Martin needs his mother. Memo still (rightly) worries Ursula will have a relapse. Dani tells her she will move out of Amparo’s rental so Ursula can be close to Martin. She will return home as Fausto is gone. She will have JuanPa and Chuchita with her. When Memo says he will miss her, Daniela assures him they will be together as they have been. She leans over and kisses him, and he leans in, savoring the kiss, as his lips seek hers out again. He then brings out “Aaron’s” letter.

Eugenio calls Karen. I’m sorry father I’m busy she begins but he tells her it’s important. He tells her Aaron is dead. Was it an accident she manages (with not a hint of sadness in her voice)? No, he shot himself but Eugenio doesn’t know why and has no further information. As he has no family, the company will pay for the funeral after the police finish their investigation. When Eugenio tells Karen he is very worried about her, Karen sneers she will be fine. Eugenio wants to find Fausto so he can tell him where he has Isabela. After he tells her Daniela and Memo are very worried about the little girl, Karen replies she hasn’t seen Fausto all day but knows about Isabela and will tell Daniela if she finds anything out about her goddaughter. Liar.

Diana

Camino #82 Part 2

Fausto asks for the “bastard”. After Karen tells him Isa is in the bedroom, she tells him about Aaron, but Fausto already knows…that’s how people end up when they betray him! And she should learn from that since someday the same could happen to her!

Ursula hisses that soon the road will end for the maldita lagartija (lizard) (thank you Rgv Chick). She takes a tool from her box and stabs Daniela’s tire.

Dios mio Daniela utters. She is understandably confused and states she can’t (and shouldn’t) believe Aaron confessed everything in the letter. Memo is sure Aaron was in the house with Sandra and he is the one who spirited her away in the boat. They can’t believe how close the man who deceived Olivia was to them and how he deceived them all! Memo is suspicious that Aaron noted Fausto knew nothing about it; he muses that they were such good friends, that seems highly unlikely. Daniela is conflicted because Fausto never mentioned Aaron having a sister and doubts he even knew. However, she admits that after everything with Karen, she doesn’t know what to believe! Memo is going to take the letter to the police so Sandra can be held responsible for all that she did. Daniela won’t rest until she talks to Sandra. Memo echoes the exact same sentiment.

Sebastian invites Lupita to the lunch with the investors but she is worried about her father and grandfather and would prefer to stay should something happen. Sebastian tells her he will return quickly and maybe the four of them can go out to dinner. He throws her kisses and leaves.

JuanPa tells Gaby that Grace lied about him; her mother assured him he fell asleep!! Gaby is livid and swears when she sees Grace, she will tell her all that she deserves. JuanPa silently thinks about Grace revealing Macario is her father. JuanPa starts to defend Grace explaining he is only trying to understand her. Gaby will not be calm in the face of everything Grace did! She is a hypocrite and the worst person she has known!

Grace is in the parlor counting out her money. Ah Macario she says kissing the bills. Grace thinks she deserves the money; she will have the grand life her mother couldn’t.

Diana

Camino #82 Part 3

Macario is still languishing in the hospital. When Yolanda asks who shot him, he tells her it was Ursula. When she asks why he didn’t turn her in, Macario retorts it would have been like hanging himself. Ursula knows so much about him; his hands are tied. Yolanda tells him Ursula took Martin but he had already figured that out after he talked with his daughters. When he tells Yolanda his explanation for taking Martin, they laugh they think so much alike! (Like seeks like. Always). She then spills major tea; Amparo now knows that she has been his woman for a long time and that Grace is their daughter.

In the hospital, Humberto is worried about the medical bills. Amparo asks him not to worry; her book sales may not pay for everything but will pay for meds and tests…for now. He kisses Amparo and Lola as a nurse takes him away for his tests.

Macario is upset as he worries Amparo will tell everyone and his children won’t want to see him again (dude, they don’t want to see you now). He will have the entire Santos family after him! After Yolanda tells him that everything had to come out sooner or later, she has more bad news…Grace left the house. Macario is relieved and happy…and thinks Grace will come running back since she has no money. When Yolanda tells him she took all his money, he stares and eyes bulging, asks why she didn’t stop her? Yolanda doesn’t care about the money or Grace (how cruel)…she only cares about him. (All those years with him and she still doesn’t realize he only cares about money?)

Lupita takes Martin and his crib as Memo and Daniela talk with Arguelles, the lawyer. Dani tells Arguelles that Fausto has an order that prevents her from reporting him for taking her child without her permission. Arguelles thinks that Fausto probably showed that Isa’s wellbeing is guaranteed if she is with him. Daniela admits Fausto had this very well planned. Memo mentions that he wants to fight for custody of Isa, but Arguelles reminds him it’s a lengthy process. Dani then tells Arguelles that she wants a divorce, but wants her daughter to stay with her. Arguelles explains that first she needs to get the divorce; then they can fight for custody. Memo is afraid Fausto will prolong the process and Isa will suffer. The lawyer then explains that with the changes in the law, only one party needs to submit for the divorce without giving a reason. Daniela remarks that she doesn’t want to be married to that man; she is desperate to rid herself of everything that unites her to him.

Fausto quizzes Karen as to what else Daniela told her. Daniela must have remembered that Karen pushed her down the stairs? Karen tells him she doesn’t remember that; Daniela has blocked that day, but there is the possibility that she may remember someday. Fausto tells her not to worry because by tomorrow, Daniela will cease to be a problem; there is another person who wants to see her dead.

Memo and Daniela walk hand in hand outside the restaurant, discussing where Fausto might be hiding Isabela. Daniela thinks (wrongly) that Fausto loves Isa and will not hurt her. What makes Daniela ill is that he is using Isabela to threaten her. She hopes Fausto will call once she gets home. Then they see the flat tire and that Daniela doesn’t have a spare. Ursula slithers up and offers to take the car to the shop with the wrecker. Daniela refuses initially, barely able to make eye contact. Memo skeptically wonders why she is being so nice. Ursula insists as it is good for her to get back to work. Ursula knows she has made many mistakes, but she wants to change…and she doesn’t want to be separated from her son. Daniela thanks her and gives the go ahead.

Diana

Camino #82 Part 4

Eugenio has nothing but praise for his only son as they discuss the successful luncheon with the investors. He toasts Sebastian of whom he is very proud. Eugenio knows his mother is also very proud of the man he has become. They toast to the many projects they want to work on together going forward. Sebastian thanks his father for not pressuring him into working at the company. He never imagined that working there would make him feel as good as it does now. He toasts to his “pops”, the best father! When Eugenio wishes Karen were there to celebrate, Sebastian tells him he is worried about and disappointed in Karen. Why Eugenio asks? Sebastian tells him he didn’t want to tell him because it is so filthy; his sister and Fausto are amantes! Eugenio looks as though he might faint.

Ursula tells the men that while they fix the tire, she will check on the motor. Ursula opens the hood of Daniela’s car, takes out a pair of pliers and cuts what appears to be the break lines.

Later, Juan Pa and Gaby show up. Ursula gives JuanPa the keys and tells him to give the keys to Daniela.

JuanPa and Gaby arrive at his house. They are both hopeful Daniela has good news about Isabela. Gaby tells him she wants to go visit her father even though Yolanda will be there. JuanPa agrees he doesn’t like Grace’s mother either but appreciates that she told him the truth. Gaby is surprised and asks, “Yolanda is Grace’s mother?” After JuanPa confirms, she asks how long he has known. JP explains he’s known since he hit Grace with the car, but he promised not to say anything because Grace didn’t want problems at work after Macario and her mother supposedly started going out. Gaby stares and repeats a questioning “supposedly”. JuanPa doesn’t want to keep any more secrets from her. He just found out something important and he may be wrong in telling her but he can’t keep it from her. “What did you find out?” asks Gaby. JuanPa explains that he only knew about Grace’s mother but today Grace told her that Macario is her father; Grace is her half-sister! Gaby recoils in utter horror, hand covering her mouth.

Memo is bouncing a yellow and blue blanket clad Martin as Leo tells Memo he will be singing on TV and then interviewed. Humberto and Amparo arrive, Humberto grumbling he was fed up at the hospital. The worst of it is that they want to put him under the knife! Amparo tells them that they want to operate tomorrow to open up his arteries, but Humberto will not submit to an operation!

Gaby is beside herself, wailing that this is but another of her father‘s and Grace’s lies. Grace turned out just like him and never said a word! The cynic went to work at the restaurant knowing she was our half-sister and never let that stop her from hurting us! JuanPa then hands Dani the key Ursula left for her. JuanPa thinks they should leave but Sebastian didn’t bring his car (why Sebastian, why?) Daniela offers her van but Eugenio asks that Sebastian not drive since they were just drinking. Gaby offers to drive!

Camino #82 Part 5

Eugenio needs to speak to Daniela about a very sensitive matter. When he hesitatingly begins that it’s about his daughter and Fausto, Dani admits she already knows. Eugenio is very embarrassed and will talk to Karen; he can’t believe that she would be capable of destroying Daniela’s marriage. Daniela assures him that she has already decided to divorce Fausto and has started the divorce proceedings. After Eugenio offers his full support, he adds that, as it is stipulated in Rodolfo Beltran’s will, if Fausto divorces, she will be the executor of Isabela’s fortune. “What are you talking about. What fortune?” asks a stunned and confused Daniela.

Daniela’s understanding was that when Rodolfo died, he left his fortune to Fausto. Eugenio explains that Rodolfo and Fausto never had a good relationship. Fausto was always problematic as an adolescent; he grew up spending money without taking any responsibility. His parents knew they had gone wrong with their son. Consequently, Rodolfo forced him to work at the company and live only on what he earned. Fausto changed and became responsible…so Eugenio doesn’t know why Rodolfo changed his will, maybe he was afraid Fausto would revert to his old ways. He did leave Fausto a hefty allowance but the fortune will go to Isabela when she reaches age of majority.

Amparo begs Humberto to consider the operation. Leo pleads with him as well but receives an icy cold rejection. Humberto sneers he left home and has no right to voice his opinion. Leo tearfully pleads that he is still his son. But if he won’t do it for him, he should do it for the rest of the family. Humberto is adamant that he will not allow the butchers to cut him open! He gets to his feet and leaves. Amparo is very upset as both she and Leo are crying. Memo stares sadly.

Eugenio tells Daniela that Fausto asked him several times to give him his father’s fortune, but he always respected Rodolfo’s wishes. Daniela doesn’t understand why that would change if she got divorced. Eugenio explains that Rodolfo wanted to protect her in the event that she got a divorce which is why he stipulated that if they divorced, she would be the executor of the fortune. Daniela now understands why Fausto refuses to give her a divorce; he wants to take her daughter and fight for custody. She is dying of anguish because she knows nothing about her daughter’s whereabouts!

Speaking of, Isabela is in her bed crying her dear little heart out. Fausto rolls his eyes and then manages a smarmy smile asking his “princess” what’s wrong. She wants to see her mommy. Fausto reminds her of what they have talked about. When Isa cries that she misses her, Fausto asks if she is going to forgive her mother’s lies and all the harm she has done to be with Memo…she didn’t even care about her! Isabela’s heart breaks a bit more as she lies down, tears flowing down her cheeks. Fausto looks down at her, looking angry.

Gaby is in the driver’s seat as the car hurtles down the dark road. Emotionally distraught, Gaby cries that she is fed up with her father’s lies! JuanPa asks her to calm down as does Sebastian, but to no avail. Taking her hands off the wheel to wipe away tears, Gaby cries that she is hurt, her heart is broken!

Camino #82 Part 6 (last)

Ursula is holding Martin as Lupita looks on. Ursula understands why the family is upset with her, but they don’t understand that she will do anything for love. Lupita argues that true love is honest without the lies and deceit which Ursula committed. Ursula thinks she is too young to understand. Lupita describes her love for Sebastian and knows they will be together forever (another omen of doom). Memo comes in and Lupita tells him Sebastian, Gaby and JuanPa are coming to pick her up for dinner.. He holds and coos to Martin as Ursula tells him he doesn’t have to have someone with her all the time when she is with Martin. Memo stares sternly and retorts that after what happened, he will not put his son at risk.. Ursula understands why he doesn’t trust her (as Martin wisely tries to drown her out by crying) but she will prove to him that she has completely recovered; she wants to be with her son as he is the only thing she has left of the man she loves. She kisses Martin and then Memo and leaves.

A now fully panicked JuanPa begs Gaby to stop! She cannot continue to drive so distraught; she needs to calm down. Gaby finally agrees to stop and move to the side of the road. As the car accelerates, Gaby frantically steps on the break, but the car continues to speed…Sebastian and JuanPa scream for her to break, but she can’t!! At that moment, a truck approaches and turning the wheel to avoid a collision, the car careens down a ravine, flipping over several times finally landing with a heartbreaking crash.

Ursula sends a message to Fausto that she did what he asked..

Karen ignores her father’s call. Fausto tells her that he received a confirmation and needs to call Daniela. Daniela wants to know where he has her daughter; she wants to talk to her! He asks if she is home. Yes…they have much to talk about. Fausto agrees but says not at the house. She should take car and meet with him in half an hour. Alone. Chuchita won’t hear of it and insists on going with her.

At the bottom of the cliff, we see inside the car. Gaby’s face is bloodied and JuanPa’s leg appears to be stuck as he is groaning in agony, saying he can’t move or feel his leg. Gaby screams for Sebastian but there is no answer. JuanPa tells Gaby to look for Sebastian. She finds him face up, lying prostrate on the ground, having been ejected from the car. JuanPa yells, asking what has happened. Gaby screams “no Sebastian, please no!” She stares at Sebastian’s seemingly lifeless body as she yells I think Sebastian is dead! He is dead!

First, all thanks to Rgv Chick for her incredible and all encompassing dialog, without which I could not possibly have done this. Such generosity, kindness and and kindness is rare but oh so appreciated! THe gift of time is the greatest gift of all.

We suspected tragedy was lurking although I did not expect such a terrible tragedy. JuanPa is gravely injured. I will not speculate on Sebastian's fate and merely say I am keeping hope alive.

I look forward to reading everyone's insightful comments and thoughts.

Camino

Thank you Diana and Rgv Chick! Diana your compassion was sorely needed for this one for as you said the tragedy was worse than expected and although I may speculate on it, I definitely don't want to. That accident looked bad!!!

Karen telling Isa that Dani and Memo were going to hell because God never forgives lovers was a new level of twisted... It’s too sad, to be funny, this is one sick chick. I hate that Karen and Falso are both so unrelenting in their torture/manipulation of Isa. They’re evil, we get it, you don’t have to endlessly torment a child to convince us, we are on the bandwagon!

Dani’s only (false) consolation is that Falso loves Isa despite everything, if only she knew. And then later when Falso calls Dani to come – thinking she’ll drive her car – he makes sure to order her to come alone. If you didn’t know better, you’d think he was trying to make sure there were no innocent bystanders.

Secrets spilled out left and right, from Karen and Falso’s relationship, to Gaby finding out about Grace’s parentage, to Dani learning of Fausto’s inheritance, it was the hour of truths for sure!

This episode felt like a tribute to Sebas… from the cute goodbye with Lupita and his penguin exit in the morning to the heart-warming acknowledgement from Eugenio highlighting how proud daddy is of him and how far they’ve come as father and son, Lupita’s contrast of Ursa’s obsession to Lupita’s pure love with Sebas, the spilling of Sebas’s secrets (ie. The information about Karen and Fausto’s affair) to daddy as well; the whole episode felt like it could be a character send off. I hope I’m wrong, normally I take an episode ending on the note of ‘I think he’s dead’ as a sure sign that the character is going to live happily ever after, but this time feels different. I am afraid the love story of Lupita and Sebas will live forever – in Lupita’s memory of the love she lost in her youth.

Dear Diana, oh my goodness. I recorded the show and have not watched it yet.... now, I don't know if I will watch. I can imagine how heavy your tender heart was recapping this brutal episode. Thank you. I feel beaten up just reading about the angst, evil, and tragedy that the writers heaped on us in this episode . I can't believe that they kille off Seb. It seems that the writers felt they had to kill off an innocent so that not every couple would get a HEA. Uff.

Well, I wonder what anvils the writers have forged for the villains who have caused so much heart ache and suffering....Karen, Fausto, Mac, Ursula.

Camino

Thank you for your always uplifting words and support Darcy!

Your remark that "They’re evil, we get it, you don’t have to endlessly torment a child to convince us, we are on the bandwagon!" said it all. I wanted to look away during the scene where Karen tormented Isabela, but as you know, as a recapper, you can't close your eyes for a moment!

"This episode felt like a tribute to Sebas… from the cute goodbye with Lupita and his penguin exit in the morning to the heart-warming acknowledgement from Eugenio highlighting how proud daddy is of him and how far they’ve come as father and son..." was lovely and touching.

"I am afraid the love story of Lupita and Sebas will live forever – in Lupita’s memory of the love she lost in her youth" mirrored thoughts in the back of my mind. Yet, we dare to hope...

Thank you for everything you said. Dreading, just dreading tonight...

Dear Susanlynn,

This was not an episode for the faint of heart.

There was no time to cry or to process this latest and completely unexpected hurt to the heart. But as Darcy noted, Lupita and Sebastian had transformed into a totally devoted and loving couple. Why the writers chose to do this is a mystery at this point. The message will likely only be revealed as the story concludes.

I did note that "She stares at Sebastian's seemingly lifeless body..." We have known each other for many years and know that in the most desperate situations, there is hope. Even a flicker, but it exists.

Diana

Dear Diana, yes, we have never met but have years of sharing not only these telenovelas but also the ups and downs of our lives. Perhaps Seb survived . I was thrown from a car when I was 16 and survived. However, they just surprised us with Mac surviving being shot by Ursula,so I am wondering if the writers will do that switcheroo again.

Camino

Thanks so much Diana, This was a heartbreaking episode. While I kept thinking he can’t be dead I know he could be. At first I was more worried about JuanPa as it looks like his Olympic dream is ruined. How awful that the young people are suffering so. I hope Sebastian lives but Darcy was right in that this episode was a tribute to Sebastian. He has turned his life around and how cruel it will be if he dies. This will affect Dani who told them to take her car. She will have so much guilt. Also, Gabby will feel it’s her fault. Hopefully the ones that really caused this will be caught. Maybe it will be the beginning of the end for them.

I just want Isabela home with Dani and Memo. If she stays with Fausto and Karen any longer she’ll need years of therapy. I was sure Dani would end up back in the hospital. Now I hope Sebastian gets to fight for his life.

Humberto is sure on the back burner now. I have no sympathy for him anyway. You do what the doctor says you have to do, and that’s it.

I’m afraid the last scene wiped out anything that happened earlier in this episode and I
can’t think of anything but the accident. Poor Eugenio will lose his whole family. I’m hoping the writers won’t do that to him.

Thanks, Diana and RGV Chick. This was a tough episode to watch, I can’t imagine recapping it.

Liz

Camino

It was indeed "a heartbreaking episode" Liz.

Some of real life's cruelest twists occur when one fights to survive, to dig out of despair, to be able to breathe after feeling suffocated. This was a "tribute to Sebastian", very well said.

Thank you for noting Dani will feel guilty for giving them her car! That filtered through my mind albeit briefly. And Gaby will suffer terribly, no matter the outcome. Gaby and JuanPa care deeply for each other but they have had their trials and tribulations. Are they strong enough to survive this?

And Eugenio. I felt all along Karen will die. Like you, I can't believe the writers would leave him childless. I felt all along Karen will die, but perhaps she will spend the rest of her miserable life in prison. Sebastian's fate, hanging in the balance.

Diana

Camino

It would be cruel if the writers decided to have Eugenio lose both of his children , but, perhaps, they are considering that when he marries Amp , he will share her children and Memo's children .

I still think that Faust and Karen are too toxic to survive and will somehow take each other out.

I wonder how the writers will wrap up the Este\Badmama and the Grace \Yo storylines .

Part 1 of 4

Angela claimed that Andres tried to rape Aurora, who seemed stunned by this statement. Neither Lamberto nor Gerardo could believe this. Gerardo tried to get Aurora to talk but she walked away so no one would see her cry. Angela blamed the men for that.

Elsa could not sleep. She went downstairs to find Elena in the kitchen; she told Elsa that Gerardo had left to attend to an emergency. They talked about their mother. Elsa said that their mother was a strong woman and had just discovered the adultery. Elena asked “Are you crazy?” and denied any monkey business ever happened between Armando and Angela. She did not question Armando's decisions about their mother. Elsa said that sooner or later the truth would come to light.

Fuentes drove Armando home, reminding him that they had a deal. Armando reluctantly shook hands with him before going inside. Elena hugged him and he said that the police had no proof against him. Elsa just greeted him verbally and went upstairs. Elena then ratted out the padre. Armando was displeased.

Lamberto tried to question Aurora about what happened but Angela stopped this. She demanded that he leave Aurora alone and what good does this interrogation do. Aurora asked to be left alone with her mother. He got up and left. It turned out that Aurora did not want to lie about what happened. Angela told her that this was a golden opportunity to get revenge. That this lie was nothing compared to what Andres had done [which was merely to exist] and they could not pass this up.

Gerardo and Lamberto talked about this. Lamberto was sure that Angela was doing this to hurt Silvia. Both knew that Andres was incapable of such a thing. Gerardo said they would need to talk to him in the morning; he had given him a sedative so he would sleep all night. Lamberto stayed in the room to watch over Andres.

Silvia and Antonia were worried about Andres. Silvia called Lamberto but he did not answer. She then called the police who gave her the usual 102-hour BS. [When time is of the essence you should not have to wait even two hours.] They were sure that the Quirogas had something to do with this.

Andres woke up to the pain. Lamberto was still out like a light. Andres put on his blood-stained shirt and jacket.

Armando called Angela and told her the Cliff notes about what happened. He said he needed to go to the bank on the way and they would talk at the office. When Angela ended the call Andres had come down the stairs. Angela praised her son's medical talent; he did a good job. Andres said “Insufficient since I was stabbed in the chest.” She had the nerve to scold him “Don't try to play the victim. You know damn well what you did in my house.”

Lamberto and Gerardo appeared. Gerardo asked how he felt and Andres told him he felt a bit weary. Gerardo said that was normal and that he would need rest [Based on how pale Andres looked he should have also told him to eat some serious red meat]. He handed him antibiotics to take every four hours to prevent infection and said to call him if needed. Andres thanked him and left. Angela then argued with Gerardo about his wanting to talk to Aurora. “What do you expect? He was base-born!” she said, along with a few other insults. She then went upstairs to shower before work.

Antonia went to see Elsa on her way to work. Now both of them were worried about Andres. (MORE)

Angela dressed for the work [What kind?]. As she combed her hair she said that Lamberto and Gerardo were stubborn about getting her to talk. Aurora did not want to blatantly lie about any of the previous night's happenings. Lamberto came into her room. Angela sat behind Aurora with her hands on her and Aurora began lying to her father but the details did not match Angela's. She said she had been watching television when she heard a sound in the kitchen. She went in, told him to leave, and he didn't. She also said that he grabbed her hands and slammed her against the wall. Lamberto said “In the kitchen? Your mother said this happened in the living room.” Angela said that Aurora was confused. Lamberto sat down and asked Aurora if that was it. Angela kept on as though Aurora was traumatized. Lamberto asked Aurora if that was the truth. Aurora looked as though she was about to cry, then got up and left the room without a word. Angela accused him of making the situation worse.

Silvia and Antonia talked. Antonia told her mother that Armando had nothing to do with this; he had been arrested and was not at home until midnight. Silvia was not yet convinced.

Andres went to the police station to report the attempt on his life. He told the true details to the Ministerio Publico.

Aurora had gone to the Morales house to escape her parents. She cried in Carlos' arms and he tried getting her to talk. She started saying she couldn't take it anymore in her parents' house. He told her that they would soon be married and she would be alright. He left the room to get a glass of water and Horacio arrived. Horacio told Carlos that their father wanted to talk to him. After Carlos left the room Horacio tried to get Aurora to talk and to agree to a double date with Carlos, himself, and Elsa. She was not on board with this. At the mention of Andres' name she got angry, protesting that Andres was not her brother. Horacio stared wide-eyed.

Fuentes saw Andres in the station and noticed all the blood. The AM desk man told him why Andres was there.

Elsa talked to Gerardo about her mother. She was reading a psychology book. Just as she was about to bring up the subject of her pregnancy when Elena ran in, faking being a happy newlywed who missed him the night before. Elsa left them alone and Elena asked what they had been talking about. Gerardo did not tell her. Gerardo commented on the fake affection and still could not get Elena to talk about her rejections.

Andres went home and called Silvia from the land line. He didn't want to tell her the details on the phone.

At the office Angela got the bad news that Fuentes was making this demand. She didn't like this. Armando told her that if this didn't happen he would use the photos to prove that he killed Olmos [He didn't mention the gun]. The alternative would only bring more suspicion. The thought of this disgusted Angela but she said she would do this. He confirmed she was willing to do this and thanked her. She started to cry, telling Armando that nobody loved him as she did. [Gag me with a spoon, please!] She asked if he killed Olmos; Armando denied having done so.

Elsa called Meche to arrange an urgent meeting. They agreed, but Elsa put the phone back in the drawer. [Why would she not take it with her? This is beyond careless.]

Aurora was not pleased at Horacio's continued attempts at getting her to talk. Carlos came in asking if they were having an argument. Horacio denied that. Aurora gladly accompanied Carlos to the hotel office, although Aurora looked back at Horacio as she took the car keys from the table.

Armando called Fuentes to tell him that Angela agreed. They were to meet at the company office. Fuentes asked if Armando had been to the bank. Armando answered in the affirmative, reminding him to bring the gun and the photos. Fuentes said he was a man of his word, then ended the call, taking a deep breath along with a somewhat lascivious expression.

Elena and Gerardo discussed Estela's situation, She was not overly concerned due trusting her father and to Leonidas' reputation. Gerardo obviously cared more about Estela than her own daughter did. He ended up leaving without kissing her.

Elsa told Meche she was pregnant.

Armando went to Padre Reynaldo, who strongly questioned his actions regarding Estela. Armando – in a sinister tone – demanded that he mind his own business. Guillermina was approaching and heard at least some of this.

Meche became concerned. Andres did not know about this yet. Carlos and Aurora came in, then Horacio, who told Elsa she was pretty. She was surprised and he apologized but had not seen her in a while. Meche chided him for making Elsa feel uncomfortable. He then winked at Aurora who was annoyed.

Gerardo called Lamberto, who told him that Angela had locked herself in her room. He also told her that she and Aurora had told contradictory versions of the story, which he took to mean that both were lies. Gerardo wondered why Aurora was lying and Lamberto said Aurora took after her mother and was easily manipulated by her. He was sure that Aurora wanted to tell the truth.

Antonia and Silvia came home and Andres told them what happened. Antonia wanted to go over to give Angela a piece of her mind, but Andres told her not to, as he had already gone to the police about this.

Aurora went home and did not want to talk about any of this and did not answer her father's questions. Angela came downstairs and said she was going to a party at her friend Adriana's place. Lamberto scolded her because Aurora needed her. Angela ranted about “I am not going to change my life any more because of your wretch of a son trying to rape your daughter!” [Please correct me if I'm wrong.] “No; I defended her. I defended her the most I could – ”

Aurora yelled “Enough! Enough! I'm tired of your fights and I don't need your help. Either of yours!” and left the room. Angela turned to leave and Lamberto demanded to know where she was going. He did not believe her answer and then accused her of meeting with another man.

Flor asked Elsa if she had bought a pregnancy test. She said she had not. She was still somewhat in denial. Her phone buzzed. Flor noticed the sound but Elsa did not tell her. Flor left the room and Elsa took Andres' call. They agreed to meet by the lake in the morning. She put the phone back in the drawer. [Who else thinks that Elena will find it in the next episode?]

Angela went to Armando's office, downed an old-fashioned glass full of the straight stuff, and asked for another drink to help her get through this. Armando was reluctant as it could dull her alertness in case anything happened. She asked again because of how repugnant she found Fuentes. Armando poured her another drink. She drank half of it then touched his face. Fuentes arrived and put a briefcase on the desk and asked about the money. Armando told him to watch out if anything happened to Angela Fuentes asked “What could happen? I would kill her and put the body in the lake? Does this story sound familiar? Don't worry. I will treat her like what she is. a real lady. Thanks.”[Obviously this is a statement of irony.]

Fuentes walked out of Armando's office. He opened the briefcase and found the photos in their brown envelope and the pistol in its plastic bag. He breathed a sigh of relief [which we are all hoping is premature].

Lamberto made another attempt to get Aurora to talk. She said nothing but looked sadder than usual.

Silvia and Andres talked. She was feeling guilty. Andres said it was only Angela who was guilty and that would pay dearly some day.

Fuentes drove Angela to another hideaway, not nearly as good as Armando's.

Lamberto entered Armando's office. Armando was in no mood to talk to anyone. Lamberto then asked Armando how long he had been boinking Angela.

Fuentes gave Angela a drink and started talking about what a lucky man Armando was to have a woman who would do whatever he asked of her. She drank the shot in one gulp. He said that until the hour she was to do whatever pleased him. He then told her to strip. Slowly. She looked totally humiliated [which she richly deserved].

Camino #82

Gracias, amigas. This was a truly brutal episode.

Never believe anyone is dead until an MD or an ME says so. I agree with LIz in that it would not be right to end this story with Eugenio losing both of his children. Karen will either end up dead or in prison so it would not be right for him to lose Sebastian even if he marries Amparo and has a baby with her (which is still possible but a little contrived if that happens).

I think the writers have decided Ursula's fate from this episode. She's a dead duck now.

This blog has a track record of worrying about child actors of Isabela's age group, but since a fair number of them go on to have acting careers into adulthood I have to believe that Televisa knows what's what.

Camino

Gracias, Diana. Finely crafted, sensitive recap of last night's tragedy. I thought Sebas would have some trouble, but not this. Thanks for being so careful with our feelings. I loved "And with this, Karen has added another stamp to her one-way ticket to the burning fires of the netherworld." Karen hates Isa. There is no other reason for her to be so cruel. On the light side, "Ursula understands why he [Memo] doesn’t trust her (as Martin wisely tries to drown her out by crying)..." made me smile.

I got annoyed with Lupita when she, with her vast experience (not) of being in love, lectured Ursa on the meaning of true love. But now, poor Lupita. We all hope Sebas lives, but the writers have been doing some serious foreshadowing (something, sadly, we don't often get in real life).

"Daniela thinks (wrongly) that Fausto loves Isa and will not hurt her." The look on Memo's face when Dani said this was like "better not to burst her bubble."

Thinking of Grace. Will she hear of this tragedy of her former "friends"? Will she care?

Camino
And here I was wondering if you all were going to place bets on whether Sebas will live.
If there's one thing they got right with this scene, it is how life can be turned upside down in a second and somehow it's usually a negative change. They kept showing those comertials where the actors talk about not driving while drunk and I was like 'Gabi isn't drunk and she couldn't have done anything." Does anyone know if there is realistically a possiblity of avoiding a tragedy if someone does to a car what Ursula did to Daniela's?
I'm confused about Eugenio a bit. He was surprised when Karen told him Daniela and Memo were lovers. So did he believe her? Now it sounded as if he didn't want to believe Karen would be that horrible. I know everyone wants to believe the best when it comes to their kids, but I wonder what he thought was more likely: that Karen was Fausto's lover or that Daniela would ruin her own marriage.
I can't remember if we were told how exactly Fausto plans to take Isa's inheritance once she turns 18. Does he plan todeceive her? I can't think of anything else.

OT

Televisa is preparing a new version of Telemundo's La Patrona, with Ariande Díaz as the protagonist (confirmed, I think).

Here's a video (in Spanish) with more details

Manú Díaz (the youtuber) always has quality content, so I thought I should mention him here.

Perdona

Thanks, Urban. Those scenes with Fuentes and with Angela are nauseating. You took one for the team detailing these two for your recap.

She [Elena] did not question Armando's decisions about their mother.

Elena seems to care about no one except Armando. She's not even interested in her physician husband checking on her mother's condition. And Elena showing him affection because Elsa was present, just ridiculous. I'm wondering how long Elena has been like this.

Andres went to the police station to report the attempt on his life.

Yay! A TN character does what one would do in real life. But it's a strange police force that doesn't even ask if the bloodied person reporting the crime needs immediate medical care.

About Lamberto calling Gerardo to attend to Andres instead of calling 911 (which Gerardo questioned himself), it seems Lamberto overriding aim was to keep his family out of scandal. I don't know if he's worthy of Silvia yet.

She started to cry, telling Armando that nobody loved him as she did. [Gag me with a spoon, please!]

ITA. In fact, Armando has pointedly said in the past that this was heat in the sheets for him and not love. But I guess he'll be stuck in the affair after this.

She put the phone back in the drawer. [Who else thinks that Elena will find it in the next episode?]

Hand raised. Worse, Armando might find it, or the dunce Elena will give it to him.

Young lovers Andres and Elsa sure have a lot to learn.

Camino #82

No, Waterlily, we still don't know. Fausto never had any conversation about that within our view. He seemed fond of bribing his way through life until he actually killed Aaron. It would have been easy for him to bribe a bank official or a forger to forge a new will. We have no idea about the value of the inheritance other than it being a life-changing amount.

He hates Isabela so irrationally that I imagine he would have played the long game here. If he had succeeded in killing Daniela he would have done what it took to send Isabela to a convent school where she would have no exposure to the Big Bad World and found some way to kill her after she received her inheritance. It would be nice to know if any of our guesses are correct but that will only happen if he ever confesses to what his plan is.

PERDONA

Thank you, Urban. "Who else thinks that Elena will find it in the next episode?" Elsa is unbleievabler. Duh! The phone still made noise no matter what she had it set on. Loved your running commentary.

Niecie, "In fact, Armando has pointedly said in the past that this was heat in the sheets for him and not love." Yes, it was so easy for Armando to pressure Angela to having sex with Fuentes. He could not have cared less how she felt. He and Angela deserve to be saddled with each other.

We live in the digital age or does the novela want us to believe it is 1970? They do have smartphones. So in 2023, what does it matter if Armando has the photos as prints? That doesn't mean that Fuentes doesn't have them also stored away digitally.

Time for Gerardo to look into getting a divorce/annullment.

Perdona

Urban,

Urban, you did an excellent job with this cringworthy episode.

From forced promiscuity to a mother forcing her child to lie about her knifing an innocent man, this had so many sins it was hard to count. All while Estela languishes in that horrid hospital.

Elena definitely had some traumatic incident in her past. But you can't be ice cold one minute then warm and flirty the next. I think Gerardo is already checking out...

Poor Andres...

Niecie, I'm thinking Elena finds the phone and hands it over to Armando too. And retribution will be terrible.

"Lamberto made another attempt to get Aurora to talk. She said nothing but looked sadder than usual" was exactly right Urban. I have to remind myself who raised her and what a heinous example of a human being Angela is.

"Horacio, who told Elsa she was pretty. She was surprised and he apologized but had not seen her in a while. Meche chided him for making Elsa feel uncomfortable. He then winked at Aurora who was annoyed". OMG. Horacio the horrible. He really thinks he is God's gift.

Perdona..

Question : so... I guess Elena and Gerardo never moved the sofa before they married and Downs must have told him that she wanted to wait until they were married. Elena is an enigma.

Whoops.... Tablet changed Elena to Downs. ??????

Thanks Urban.

As we still have another week plus to go, I have a horrible feeling Sebastian's fate might not yet be revealed. Unless he's officially declared dead, there is some hope.

It appears Eugenio and Amparo will marry. Although her children will likely welcome and love him, nothing or no one can replace the love and loss of his own children. I'm hoping it doesn't come to that.

I wonder if Ursula will end up dying. I've changed my mind several times and am now thinking the only one definitely destined for hell is Fausto.

Thank you so much Niecie!

With such a terrible tone throughout, I was so happy to see Martin crying, completely unscripted. He actually did make a few words she said impossible to hear! All for the best I say. :) I'm happy that made you smile.

"I got annoyed with Lupita when she, with her vast experience (not) of being in love, lectured Ursa on the meaning of true love. But now, poor Lupita". Exactly and very well said.

Ahhh Grace. How will she handle all this? Honestly, I don't know. I would really hope that she makes amends and tries to be there for her semi-siblings. But whether her heart will soften or not...

Good afternoon waterlily.

"If there's one thing they got right with this scene, it is how life can be turned upside down in a second and somehow it's usually a negative change" is tragic but true.

I'm a huge proponent of never taking any time, an hour, a day for granted. Life is precious and I try to be grateful for every day.

I am glad Urban answered your question about Fausto's plan. She answered it far better that I could have! :)

Thanks, Urban, a great recap. Angela has officially become a whore but looks down on so many people. And if she believes Armando’s lies about his being innocent she’s doing it to save face. She doesn’t want people to know about the affair! I doubt a police officer would pass the pictures around. Although Fuentes is a different kind of police officer. I wonder if he’ll be content with just one night!

I hope Aurora has a bit of decency and doesn’t tell the lie to the police. But if Angela is charged with attempted murder I’m sure she’ll lie for her mommy dearest.

The big question is how did a cold, unfeeling Elena end up with a kind, compassionate, good-looking doctor.

And what will Armando do when he finds out Elsa is pregnant. He can put her away too!

Perdona #15

Great comments, everybody.

Fuentes doesn't have to think of whether he can get a second shot at Angela. As soon as he gets back to the office he will find out why Andres was there that afternoon. He can blackmail her over that.

This is way beyond expectation. You'd think that in a town this size everybody would know everything about everybody else. Therefore I thought Fuentes knew about Angela's drinking and would get her drunk to get information out of her. In vino veritas.

I have also wondered about the gun. Is it the one Armando threw into the lake or just another one like it?

Elena is either a virgin or a crime victim. If she and Gerardo moved the sofa before this tale began this would have come up several conversations ago. If the latter she really knows how to keep a secret.

Elsa should run away to Mexico City where Luis can help her until Andres gets back.

Camino #83 Part 1

None of us knows what might happen even the next minute, yet still we go forward. Because we trust. Because we have faith – Paulo Coelho

(Skipped Scene #1 courtesy of Rgv Chick) Amparo compliments Lupita telling her how pretty she looks. Lupita tells her that Gaby, Sebastian and JuanPa are on their way, they are going out to dinner. Amparo notes that Gaby and Juan Pa have settled their differences and is delighted to have some good news amidst so many problems (at which Viewerville’s collective hearts sink). Chema can’t reach Isa and is wondering why she isn’t answering. (Oh, dear child, it’s best you don’t know). Amparo tells him she is likely asleep and Lupita chimes in he should be doing the same!.

Este scrolls through photos on her phone of she and Sebastian together. She cries to herself that she was such a fool! It was only at Sebastian’s side that she was truly happy. She loved him above and like no other but she ruined everything. She sits down in despair.

Loreta and Tony are at a restaurant playing “Let’s Make A Deal”. Is it a new washer and dryer? Regrettably not. This game has a far more sinister tone, her “cherished” daughter’s future and non-happiness. Loreta is drinking a hideous looking green cocktail that resembles algae. She apologizes for her daughter who is somewhat volatile. Tony cold heartedly gets to the point. He knows she and Este are close to living in misery…and he has a proposition - to marry her daughter! His father is pressuring him to marry a girl who will know her place. He is willing to pay all of Loreta’s debts and give her a generous monthly allowance. He asks if she is willing to make the deal for her daughter. She doesn’t leap over the table to embrace him in relief but does manage to look mildly intrigued.

Karen arrives home and Eugenio sternly tells her they need to talk. She enters and he tells her to sit. She stares at him with hooded eyes, her blood red lipstick against her pale skin. He doesn’t know where he went wrong with her, perhaps she needed guidance and advice only a mother could provide, but he did the best he could. Karen tells him he knows how much she loves and respects him (she has zero respect for him and whether she loves him or not is buried in her tiny heart). He asks why she has been lying to him. Why is she acting like a woman without morals and decency? He knows full well what her relationship is with Fausto! Karen thinks Sebastian told him and retorts that it’s a lie! Eugenio tells her to admit that she is the lover of her best friend’s husband!

Daniela’s car arrives at Fausto’s. He stands up and sees Daniela and Chuchita alighting. He raises his arms, fists clenched in frustration. Daniela wants to see her daughter and demands that Fausto tell her where she is! Fausto ignores the question asking why she came in a taxi (which will hopefully resonate with Daniela once she hears what happened). She insists that doesn’t matter but does say she lent it to JuanPa. He reminds her that he told her to come alone and turns angrily to Chuchita when she tries to speak, menacingly telling her not to get involved! Daniela keeps asking where Isabela is, but Fausto refuses to tell her. Fausto reminds her that he warned her what would happen if she went back to that trailero. Dani retorts how dare he reproach her for her relationship with Memo when he has been Karen’s lover all his life! Now she understands why he refuses to give her a divorce; it wouldn’t benefit him to be separated from her because he knew in that moment, Eugenio would put the inheritance in her hands! Yes she knows about his father’s will and if he doesn’t take her to her daughter right now, he will never see one peso of that miserable money! There is a split screen of their two faces (beauty and the beast).

Diana

Camino #83 Part 2

Memo is putting the darling (yet fussy) Martin to bed when he receives a call. He answers, thinking it is JuanPa but no, it is a frantic Gaby, blood streaming down her face. Staggering, struggling to walk, voice quaking she sobs they had an accident and need help! JuanPa’s leg was stuck in the crash and he can’t move. And Sebastian…she thinks he is dead!

Fausto mocks Daniela for showing her true colors and warns that she shouldn’t threaten him; that inheritance is rightfully his! Daniela retorts that based on what Eugenio told her, his life has been a farce and he has gone to great lengths to make everyone believe that he is hardworking and honest with his family. But, underneath it all is the real Fausto who is ambitious, a liar and despicable. Fausto sneers that she doesn’t know him that well yet…and it would not behoove her to know him (incomprehensible on the surface but the sad truth). Daniela dismisses the notion that his money means anything to her! Rather accusingly she asks what he did that his father gave someone else control of his fortune. Fausto thinks Eugenio is an idiot for having told her, but Daniela refutes that; Eugenio is a great man who carries a double weight…because he found out about him and Karen. Fausto snarls that is all he needed; she has become an ally of the person who took it all from him…he not only took his parents in the accident, but he also stole his inheritance! Daniela argues that Eugenio has done NOTHING but administer what is stipulated in the will for their daughter. When she adds that the helicopter incident was an accident, Fausto barks that Eugenio was the pilot! Daniela admonishes him to listen to himself! He is sick with hate, resentment, and ambition!! He only cares about money! He doesn’t care about anything not even his daughter. Fausto tells her she has never lived a tragedy such as his; her parents didn’t die in an accident. He then asks how she would feel if something happened to…her brother because of someone else! (the second comment Daniela will need to harken back to once the shock subsides).

Karen asks her father to not look at her like that. Eugenio points out that she has dedicated herself to destroy a family…including her goddaughter! When he adds that she could at least tell them where Isa is, Karen denies knowing. Eugenio demands that she not lie! Eugenio tells her that she has done enough harm to Daniela, a mother desperate to find her daughter. Karen thinks he is siding with Daniela and tells him not to betray her! (That was rich). Eugenio argues that it is she who has been disloyal to Daniela, to him, to the whole world! He can’t fathom that she spent years pretending that she hated Fausto when what she really felt was beyond what he could imagine. Karen admits that she loves Fausto with all her heart; she loves him despite everything! And he (Eugenio) has no right to reproach her because of she became a married man’s lover, it was his fault! (Viewerville can but stare).

Diana

Camino #83 Part 3

Daniela informs Fausto she already started divorce proceedings. Fausto retorts they will see each other in court…AND Isabela stays with him! Daniela snaps that he is acting out of spite…he knows that Isabela is better off with her as Isabela needs her. Fausto retorts that it is Isa who doesn’t want to be with Daniela; she knows about her romance with Memo and she hates them! Que?! Daniela’s decimated face reveals her horror. How dare you she accuses! Fausto reminds her that is she who is a proponent of honesty—she insisted on telling Isa that she was adopted and she brought Memo closer to Isa. Daniela asks why he doesn’t tell Isa about himself and Karen? She won’t let him manipulate Isa against her. Fausto will only say goodbye, if there is anything else, she can contact his attorneys. Daniela stops him as she has a proposition (one of several tonight). She will sign over control of the money as soon as she becomes executor…he just needs to return Isabela to her. Fausto tells her that once he has his inheritance; they can talk…and she shouldn’t bother sending Isa a kiss because Isa doesn’t want to hear anything that has to do with her…because she destroyed this family! We can only hope the darkest demons from Hell will be fetching Fausto shortly.

Eugenio can’t believe Karen blames him (neither can we). Karen hisses that Eugenio condemned Fausto to his marriage and kept him from leaving Daniela for her…by refusing to give Fausto his inheritance! Eugenio points out that he did not write the clauses in the testament…it was Rodolfo‘s last will. The only thing he did was implement what was dictated. After Karen reiterates that HE made her become a married man’s lover, Eugenio tells her basta! What she did is unforgivable! Karen retorts that he has no right to judge her when she forgave what he did which is a thousand time worse! Or has he forgotten that he killed her mother? Eugenio is clearly devastated that Karen is resurrecting the worst pain in his life. Karen then asks if he would be able to forgive if Sebastian or she died in an accident provoked by an imprudent driver! Eugenio admits he couldn’t because he hasn’t been able to forgive himself. How interesting that Karen and Fausto both posed the same question.

Gaby is sitting next to the car door where JuanPa has now passed out. She cries as she repeated says it is her fault. Hearing the sirens wail, she yells “Here! We’re over here!”

Loreta has great news for Este. She “got” Tony to marry Este in a few days! Que?!

Gaby tells the medics that she is fine; they need to help Sebastian and JuanPa! She cries to Memo that she doesn’t know what happened; she was driving and couldn’t brake; it’s all her fault! Memo tells her it’s over; it was an accident. She cries that if something happens to JuanPa, she will die. Memo assures Gaby that she will be fine but tells Leo not to leave her.

Diana

Camino #83 Part 4

Memo calls out for JuanPa, then asks how Sebastian is. The medics tell him they lost him! A stricken Memo cries “No! No! No!” He shakes Sebastian saying, “Sebastian, react! Come back!” The medic yells, “He’s alive! We need to transport him to a hospital!”.

Este refuses to marry Tony, but Loreta isn’t asking her, the decision has been made! Este reminds her of what Tony did to her…he tried to force himself on her and even tried to hit her! (Does Loreta rethink her deal even an iota?? Absolutely not). Loreta reminds her that they are in a desperate situation…does she want them to be thrown out of their home? When Este replies, “no”, Loreta explains that Tony agreed to pay their (her) debts; he gave her a hefty advance so they won’t be evicted. When Este asks if she is selling her off, Loreta tells her not to be so dramatic; this would not have happened if she had ruined everything with Sebastian! Tomorrow they will meet Tony’s parents where he will ask for her hand; so, she needs to look pretty…and willing! As Este stares, bewildered, Loreta pats Este and then turns on her heel and leaves.

Lupita and Amparo are with Martin when Ursula shows up. Lupita muses that she can’t reach Gaby or Sebastian; they should already be there. Ursula is looking for Martin so Amparo tells her Memo had an emergency and left Martín with her. Ursula thinks Memo could have left the baby with her. Amparo tells her not to start because if it were up to her, Ursula would far from there! Ursula warns her to be careful with what she says because if Ursula leaves, she will take her son with her. Amparo retorts that the Santos’ won’t permit it…even Macario took the baby when he found out she was out. Ursula laughs that now Macario is the good guy…after Amparo found out that he has another family! Lupita stares and cries out “what did you say?” Ursula taunts Amparo, asking if she told Lupita about the woman and daughter Macario has in another town. Amparo bristles she was planning on talking to Lupita and Gaby and asks Ursula to leave, but Ursula wouldn’t miss seeing Lupita’s face when she finds out that Grace is her half-sister!

Humberto and Lola are holding hands with the lovely star and moon cups in clear view. Humberto thought he would never live again until Lola showed up. Lola feels the same; she thought the love she felt for him was buried. Humberto thinks they shouldn’t miss the opportunity that life is giving them…to love again. He loves her! They sweetly kiss. She loves him too! Smart, loving Lola gently asks him that in the name of that love, he should agree to the operation. He should do it for his children, his grandchildren, his family! Humberto admits that he is afraid…but with some sweet insistence from Lola, he agrees. Super Lola AND Miracle Worker.

Lupita brokenheartedly asks her mother if it is true. Amparo cries as she confirms that Grace is the daughter of Yolanda and Macario. Lupita cries no, no, no! Amparo barks at Ursula, “Are you satisfied?” Ursula leaves to answer Fausto’s call. She can’t believe their plan failed. Fausto tells her that Daniela lent JuanPa her car. Ursula admits giving the keys to JuanPa. When he asks if she has heard anything, Ursula remembers Amparo saying that Memo left urgently…they must have had an accident because she made sure she left the van without brakes.

Diana

Camino #83 Part 5

Yolanda comes into Macario’s room fussing as though he were a wounded bird, rather than the crocodile he is. He tells Yolanda to help him; he has to get away. He doesn’t want to face Amparo and the girls when they come looking for him…much less face Chema when they find out all the truth. He has to hide for a while because when Fausto and Mr. Uptight find out he sold to them both, they’ll send him straight to the joint! Yolanda tells him they also need to find Grace and get back the money. He dresses hurriedly.

Lupita cries that her father always lets her down. She loved him despite everything and he would always disappoint her…but having another family…it’s too much! Grace came into our lives to harm us yet Macario did nothing to stop her! Amparo shares that from what she knows, Macario has treated Grace worse than an animal; she talked about her father with so much resentment! Lupita argues that doesn’t excuse her actions; she is responsible for what she did to them! Amparo continues that Macario was a father to them, but he didn’t even give Grace his last name.

At the crash site, Leo tries to reassure a worried Gaby that she needs to let the medics do their work.

News of the accident starts to spread. Amparo gets Memo’s initial call followed by Eugenio. During his call with Amparo, we hear only music and none of their conversation. We see Amparo’s distraught expression and Lupita’s devastation as she faints dead away. Eugenio’s call is also conducted without sound.

We have audio for Daniela’s end of her call to which she reacts by screaming. Chuchita asks what happened. Daniela sobs that JuanPa had an accident! Chuchita envelops Daniela in a comforting hug.

Macario stumbles back to Amparo’s apartment. He tells Yoyo that, without being seen, she needs to find out if Macario and Eugenio have found out about the double sale of the land.

Dawn arrives.

Humberto wants to order a hale and hearty breakfast but after Lola gently calls him on it, he just orders juice. Humberto notices none of his family is around .Ursula tells him not to wait for them; Gaby and his granddaughter’s novios had an accident last night. Gaby was driving and it’s possible one of the young men won’t make it. His pain begins and he reaches for a pill.

Diana

Camino #83 Part 6

Este wants to go see Sebastian too but Loreta tells her to forget him. However, Loreta WILL take advantage of the opportunity to be with Eugenio. Loreta asks Este about Tony and low and behold he appears at the door. Tony asks if Este isn’t going to greet her future husband with a kiss.

Sebastian is in the hospital bed, hooked up, head bandaged, motionless and intubated. A gowned Eugenio comes in and stands at the foot of his son’s bed, grief written across his face.

Leo and Chuchita, Memo, Gaby and Amparo are in the waiting room. Gaby’s face is red, bruised and her arm is in a sling. She is giving her statement to the police, relating that she lost control and the car flipped over and careened down the ravine. Inconsolable, Amparo pleas that she does not torment herself.

Eugenio gravely tells Amparo that Sebastian is in bad condition; he can’t breathe on his own and the doctors don’t give him any hope. Karen sneers, “It was her! Take her! Lock her up! Murderer!”

Daniela is at JuanPa’s bedside. He awakens and says “Dani”. He is shaking and looks disoriented. Daniela tells him not to be scared, he is in the hospital and was in an accident. Recalling what happened, he asks “Gaby?” to which Daniela assures him she is fine. He next asks for Sebastian – is he dead? Daniela gently replies that he is critical but is fighting for his life; he is in a coma. JuanPa screams “nooo”. Daniela has been gently stroking his face during their conversation, trying to calm him as best she can. She asks how he is feeling and JuanPa replies he doesn’t know, he feels very weak. She cries that he will overcome and he can count on her! We see a dawning of comprehension flash across JuanPa’s face as he reaches under and then throws back the sheet to reveal his leg has been amputated at the knee. Daniela buries her face in her hands distraught as JuanPa cries “nooo. Dani, my leg! My leg Dani”.

“Rest this assassin” Karen demands. Memo sneers that no one will put a hand on his niece! Eugenio seemingly disagrees, advising it’s best Gaby cooperate with the authorities. Whipping her head around to face him, Amparo cries that it was an accident! He more than anyone should know Gaby isn’t at fault. Karen asks, “well then? Who was driving?!” Amparo insists that in an accident no one is at fault! Karen retorts that it should be clear to her that her daughter has to pay for her crime!

Diana

Camino #83 Part 7

JuanPa loses control crying and raging, in pure denial. Why my leg? I promised my mother I would go far. Daniela knows and understands and says he accomplished that. JuanPa then yells he should have died! Daniela tries to restrain him to no avail. She calls for help and warns him he is going to hurt himself. The doctor tells him to calm down and administers a sedative. Daniela gives her word they will come out of this. Together.

A gowned Lupita stands at Sebastian’s bedside, eyes wide and luminescent with love. She gently caresses his bandaged head as she murmurs “Penguniito, our love is forever. You have to fight. Don’t leave me she begs him.

Este wants Tony to tell her that this is a bad joke…he doesn’t want to marry her or anyone else.! Tony explains it’s for convenience. In his family, duty is first—study, work, marry. When Este tells him to marry someone else, the first girl he meets, Tony retorts that is her! He argues that it would benefit them both; he’ll get his father off his back… and she will avoid living in misery. It’s a win win!

Gaby cries that she would give anything to be in Sebastian’s place and in JuanPa’s. Karen growls that she should turn herself and pay for her stupidity! Amparo demands that she not talk to her daughter like that! Memo adds that Gaby is not alone and Leo demands that the police do their job; he vouches that Gaby is a good driver! The policeman orders that they hand cuff Gaby! Memo tells Gaby that everything will be fine; her family is behind her.

(Skipped scene #2 courtesy of Rgv Chick) Tony points out that Este can’t live without her luxuries or money. Este agrees to marry him and they kiss. With little to be grateful for tonight, missing that scene was a small blessing.

Camino #83 Part 8 (Last)

At JuanPa’s bedside, Daniela prays God help them overcome this great pain and give her strength to help her brother. Memo enters and asks her how he is. She hugs Memo tenderly and tells him that JuanPa woke up but when he found out about his leg, he started yelling. Memo shares that when Gaby called him, he never imagined they would live this nightmare. He has to go because Gaby has been taken away. Daniela asks for Sebastian and Memo relates it was a miracle he survived. He is connected to a machine that is helping him breathe, but without that machine, he would die immediately. Dani can’t understand why these tragedies happen…three young people who had their whole lives ahead of them and in a split second everything changed and in the worst way. Memo comments that is how auto accidents are; they take us by surprise and we don’t understand what happened. He asks if she knows anything about Isa. She tells him about talking with Fausto. The lowlife dared to tell her they are amantes and now she doesn’t want to see her…because Isa thinks the worst of them! Memo looks crestfallen.

Fausto tells his “princess” Isa not to go out of her bedroom because he has a client coming to see him. Isa wants to see Chema, and her uncle. Fausto tells her she needs to wait. Isa also wants to see her mommy and her papa Memo so they can tell her why they lied to her. Fausto responds it’s simple…Memo and Daniela betrayed her and his duty as a father is to protect her and that is what he will do! He will not allow either of them to harm her again! Isabela’s confusion and heartache is clearly reflected in her beautiful, troubled face.

Daniela cries that the thought of her daughter believing she is the worst of women makes her feel very distraught Memo is sure Fausto filled her head with lies. Daniela wishes she could be with Isa to explain how things happened so she can understand. But how can she leave her brother? She doesn’t know where she will find strength. Memo assures her everything will turn out well. Daniela fears that the longer Isa is with Fausto, the more he will poison her against them. As Daniela buries her face in Memo’s shoulder, he tells her to have faith, soon they will have Isa in their arms. Dani only wants to know when.

Tonight ends with Ursula ransacking several drawers. She finally appears to have found what she was seeking. She pulls out a vial containing an unknown (to us) substance.

My heartfelt thanks to Rgv Chick whose dialog so beautifully framed tonight's sorrow and heartache. Wisdom and insight. And such generosity.

Like many tragedies, the angst and anguish trickles down like a river into streams. Anger and blame overflow as resentments grow, turning family against family, loved ones against each other. Protecting one's own assumes paramount importance.

JuanPa's life changed forever as Sebastian's hangs in the balance. Gaby, an innocent for all intent and purpose, is now held responsible not only in the eyes of the law but in the eyes of many whom she loves.

So, what on earth is Ursula going to do??? I cringe at the thought.

I so look forward to seeing what our wonderful patio's thoughts are.

I have no idea who has the truth - but that letter has both Dani & Memo believing it was Aaron - not Fausto who instigated the baby died lie, the incarceration & ultimately Olivia’s death.

I totally agree Niecie.

Urban Anthropologist, Im not sure where you see the street scene. I don’t think I have ever seen it & I looking for it tonight because of your comments. Is it in the beginning or the end of the show? Party Scene credits? What does that mean?

I’m learning along with you all.

I hope my 1st reply this week was in the right place.
It asks for my name each time.
Oh - my last comment to Niecie - I forgot to
Put CAMINO on the 1st line. So sorry. I will try to edit it now.

Thank you to Rgv Chick, Anonymous, Diana, Darcy, Waterlily, Susanlynn, Niecie & anyone else I missed.

My stomach is in a knot after tonight.

The sadness of those young lives hanging in the abeyance right now is tortuous.

It is truly cruel to see Isabella being played by her FAKE father. Frosto is sickening.

I truly hope the writers ‘right’ some of the wrongs.

While this main family is going through one tragedy after another - Loretta & Stefi are beginning their decent into hell it seems as well.

Loretta will use her daughter if her daughters car was not enough. She is such a bad mother. Maybe she & Yolanda should compare notes one day - because it seems like Loretta’s many husbands at least set her up in fine clothes and furnishings, Yolanda is just a servant at Mac’s disposal.

My heart is aching for the good ones.
I can’t believe we still have more to go.

I think we will see more evil in the bad ones and I hope Sandra lives to tell the truth.

Tonight left me sick watching Karen berate her Father for her Mothers death and her brother supposedly lies to him. It was never Eugenios fault that the Crash occurred. Yet Karen is so haughty she thinks her Father should have just given the keys to the kingdom to Fausto and then she would not be an ‘amante’ but a wife.
She is living in a delusion of grandeur that is non stop.

The fact that Ursula with zero emotion tells Humberto, when he wonders where everyone is — they’re all at the hospital - yeah no big deal - accident etc.
When she told Frosto that the car had no breaks the night before when he called & why did he call???
Because this filth of a man was upset that Daniela took a Taxi to meet him.
Versus taking her car which would have killed her. He did not care at all for his brother in law or Don Eugenio’s son, just forget Gaby a trailero family member.
He is horrid!!!!

Poisoning Isabella’s mind against her Mother non stop.

This is one tough last week - or more or Episodes.
Yeah, I hope Leo gets to use “Santos” as his stage name, but it’s small potatoes when you have an amputee and a guy living on a machine.

Same with Mac & his missing money.
Someone is missing a limb thanks to his relative.

Fausto is behind it all.

The greed.
The vile person that thinks he is above the law.

I feel bad for Estefi - but it’s her entitled mothers fault now.

The pain has got to end.
I had real nightmares last night about these characters.

Too much. Too much.

Thank you Diana and Rgv Chick....this must have been a difficult night to recap and yet you missed nothing, painting the tragic scene with as much compassion and warmth as you could on what was a stark and cold night.

I really wanted to jump through the screen and slap Karen! Making a huge scene to upset everyone, calling Gaby a murderer, and demanding she be arrested! She doesn't care about Sebas! I'd have at least some sympathy for her if she was truly distraught but no, she's just been a witch! And the police arresting Gaby? I know this is novelaland, but we don't even pretend to investigate before declaring it a crime and making an arrest? Not even lip service given to the idea? It makes me fear they won't check the condition of that car at all!!! And it makes me wonder if they ever checked the wreckage of the helicopter - I'm guessing they must not have since no one ever even suggested foul play...they better check the van for malfunctioning...that should be car accident 101.

Despite the tragedy, I was thinking last night, I'm really impressed with the writing on this show. The little suggestions they throw out like with Falso asking Dani what she would do if something happened to JP and Karen asking Eugenio about Sebas. It's a little on the nose, but it's not too over the top. They are pretty good at slowing building up tension and dread, teasing the audience reaction in advance of the actual unfolding as everyone learns of the accident. I thought all the actual reveals were excellent - especially Amparo and Lupita's reaction - except for Dani's. The way she reacted you'd think they told her JP was dead though I'm sure what she was actually told was he was hurt but alive. It must have been too soon for her to learn his leg would be amputated, though that reaction would be appropriate for that news!

I can't believe JP lost his leg!!! I didn't foresee that!! And his reaction, dramatic and painful was believable. Sebas in a comma, kept alive only by the life support machines....so much pain and Ursa has not a second's regret for her choices coldly and harshly informing Humberto of the accident as if she was saying good morning and already plotting whatever it is she was plotting with that substance.

The whole further reveal of Grace being Mac's daughter just pales in the wake of this accident and the rat himself goes to hide in a hole before anyone can hold him accountable for his actions....sigh. Yo still steadfastly by his side, smh. I really hope Grace gets away with all that money and mommy and daddy never find her! Although technically it's Eugenio's money so that means he's losing out if she does.

I am almost afraid to find out what happen's next...I suppose it's hopeful that Sebas is still alive but they certainly didn't give much hope stating multiple times that he was all but dead with nothing but a machine keeping him breathing.

Gracias, amigas, for taking this one for the team. This was easily the grimmest episode of this story so far.

Gaby getting arrested made my blood boil. How on earth can any cop arrest a person just on the word of a harridan who didn't even witness the event? Great point about whether the remains of the helicopter were ever examined properly when that happened and now a wrecked car where it will be obvious that the brake line was deliberately cut.

I am going to guess that Sebas will wake up with a major headache and possible amnesia (which we don't need to go through again) but that he will survive. As previously said by a few of us, Eugenio doesn't deserve to lose both his children. Karen is a goner for sure.

Estefania is getting the hell he deserves, which I hope includes getting her off our screens.

For Perdona viewers: I was out last night and need to catch up to it. Please be paitient.

Thank you for all of your thoughtful comments and sentiments.

"Loretta...is such a bad mother. Maybe she & Yolanda should compare notes one day - because it seems like Loretta’s many husbands at least set her up in fine clothes and furnishings, Yolanda is just a servant at Mac’s disposal" had me nodding in agreement.

"Poisoning Isabella’s mind against her Mother non stop" was indeed one of the worst atrocities as there is nothing more heinous than torturing a child, physically and/or emotionally.

The events of the past few days have been particularly disturbing and I think sleep has been elusive for most of us.

The above was Camino.

Darcy, thank you so much for your kind words.

As always, you drew our attention to what is important, in this case, proof of innocence: “It makes me fear they won't check the condition of that car at all!!! And it makes me wonder if they ever checked the wreckage of the helicopter - I'm guessing they must not have since no one ever even suggested foul play”. I’m sure you are exactly right about the helicopter crash.

“The whole further reveal of Grace being Mac's daughter just pales in the wake of this accident and the rat himself goes to hide in a hole before anyone can hold him accountable for his actions” is so, so true!

I agree the acting has been excellent. I think Dani’s reaction to the accident reflected her tender heart and loving nature. She is beside herself with Isabela missing, believing her mother betrayed her. Being told someone is hurt can and does encompass a world of painful possibilities.

I am still trying to process everything. I can only hope that Sebastian will recover. I would be happy if a kiss from the fair Lupita would wake him from his coma. Also, the way he was intubated seemed so real it made me shiver.

Good morning Urban.

"I am going to guess that Sebas will wake up with a major headache and possible amnesia (which we don't need to go through again) but that he will survive".

I would hope the writers wouldn't draw this out if he is to die, but I have no idea what will actually happen.

My heart sank when Eugenio grimly agreed Gaby should be arrested. Guilty in the court of grievous pain. And yes, after the torment he has gone through he should have known better. But, few think clearly faced with the prospect of losing a child.

Diana

Oh. My. Goodness. Last night's episode was absolutely terrorizing and sorrowful. Why did the writers feel that they needed to end this ride by handing out more pain and grief to the innocents ????. The writers brought so many " slings and arrows of outrageous fortune." It really was everything everywhere all at once . (I haven't seen that movie ,and I don't want to.)

I watch telenovelas as an escape from the news and real horror , so I am not pleased with this writing decision full of bad news and horror.

I dance every morning as I am getting ready for the day. Today it was to the tune " Everybody Dance Now." It helped .

Karen, Faust ,and Ursula can't survive the evil and pain they have inflicted on others . I am not sure what will happen to Yo's tigre Mac.

No idea what Ursula's next evil plan is or whom it is aimed at...Dani?

We must echo Caray's beloved Judyb " It's just a story" and hope that the good guys get HEAs.

Camino

Oh my....this episode upset me so much that I forgot to thank Diana and Chickie for recapping this sad and painful episode . Thank you so much . You are brave and dedicated.

Camino

Thanks, Diana and RGV Chick. That was excellent, it brought back every torturous moment. Nothing really positive and lots of bad omens for the future.

Will Eugenio blame Gaby, which would end his relationship with Amparo. Since Este’s mom will be arriving at the hospital I see a shaky future for that couple. (Amparo and Eugenio)
And was Karen’s anger all an act. I thought she knew Fausto planned to get rid of Dani. Maybe she hasn’t realized they were driving Dani’s car. I doubt she has any real love for her brother or her father. I’m assuming she was an adult when she lost her mom, so this sick personality is not the result of being motherless.

I think Sebastian will live, since JuanPa lost his leg that can be enough tragedy from the accident. But what will this do to how he feels about Gaby?

I thought something was wrong with my sound during the phone calls. I changed to another channel to see if it was working.

We really have three cold blooded killers on this show. They make Macario seem like a fumbling idiot.

I’m glad Gaby mentioned she couldn’t brake. I didn’t know last night if she’d said anything. I hope she or Memo report it to the police. How many episodes before they find out the brakes were cut!

I couldn’t tell what Ursula was getting but if it’s a vial she might be planning to drug someone. Maybe so she can sell the baby. I don’t know if she knows Macario is alive.

The hints that Fausto and Karen said were done really well. And both have happened. If Eugenio and Dani compare notes they might start realizing something. But how likely would that be.

Aarón had said a couple of times that if anything happened to him the truth would come out. I wonder if some lawyer has his will and the full confession.

So much still needs to be revealed. My patience is wearing thin!

Liz

Susanlynn, I'm also sad things have taken such a sad and depressing turn.

It's looks like Ursula is getting ready to serve up an unhealthy dose of whatever is in that bottle. I would think yes, Dani is her target since her last plan failed but who knows??

Glad you dance every morning. Sounds healthy and fun!

Diana

Thanks so much Liz!

"Since Este’s mom will be arriving at the hospital I see a shaky future for that couple. (Amparo and Eugenio)". Oh my! I completely dismissed Lor continuing to pursue Eugenio but now that he seems to be blaming Gaby, I fear the door is open for her to "console" him. Ack.

I fear there are very difficult times ahead for Gaby and JuanPa. He does love her but he will have to battle through resentment of the fact Gaby was driving along with the fact his lifelong dream has ended.

"We really have three cold blooded killers on this show. They make Macario seem like a fumbling idiot". Very well said!

I also think Aaron left some incriminating evidence against Fausto behind.

Diana

Camino

It sounds like I am in the minority but I didn’t see Eugenio as blaming Gaby. I think he was more like projecting his own experience on Gaby. When he was flying the helicopter he had to cooperate with the investigation and now he thinks Gaby should do the same. That’s what he said too. Not she’s guilty or she’s a murderer or anything like that, but that she should cooperate with the investigation. I think in his own traumatized way he was actually trying to look out for Gaby.

Camino

Darcy, I hope you are right about Eugenie not blaming Gaby.

OT ...Diana, I find that listening to music every day is useful . I used to play "Lovely Day" by Bill Withers every morning to wake the kids up for school. It is a great, positive way to start the day or lift your spirits. Dancing is also great for the spirits .I'll bet evil ,BSC, joyless Fausto and Karen can't dance .

CAMINO

Good Day, Everyone! I'm very late to this party...or should I say "party of doom?" First and foremost, I must thank Diana for her extraordinary compassion and eloquence in relaying all the sad, sordid events...and what a perfect quote!! I only write what the characters say, but you, Diana, always manage to find the perfect words to describe so many emotions; unfortunately, in this episode it was all the hurt, the anguish, the anger, and the frustration. Your writing is mindboggling!

I can't see Sebas dying. As everyone else has already pointed out, Eugenio can't be left childless...and I'm not counting Karen because after all she has done, she can be none other than the devil's child! I would like to see a miraculous recovery...one of those where the machines are turned off and the patient refuses to die...I can hope, can't I?

How horrible that JP's leg got amputated! I too think this will cause major problems bewteen him and Gaby; I'm sure he will blame her for not stopping sooner. Although, in the previous episode, I kept wondering why he didn't grab the keys when he knew she was so upset...he shouldn't have allowed her to drive.

Darcy, "... I didn’t see Eugenio as blaming Gaby. I think he was more like projecting his own experience on Gaby." You're not alone! did the others relly expect Gaby to refuse to be arrested? That would have only made things worse. I really don't think the police were swayed with Karen's demands, but I was surprised that they arrested her so quickly.

Liz, Yes! Gaby did mention that she tried to brake, but couldn't. I am gald too! I do hope the cops don't disregard that!

That last scene with Ursula was odd...seemed like they had cut the scene right in the middle. Hmmm...poisoning Dani is a good prediction.

Camino
I couldn't decide if I was outraged or amused by Fausto's comment that Daniela sided with someone who ruined things for Fausto. I mean, what did he think? Or does he think she is going to be on his side because she's masochistic? Karen going on that rant about how it's all Eugenio's fault was ridiculous too. It's like her brain switches off when the topic turns to Fausto.I'm curious why we never heard her really asking herself why Fausto never picked her in the first place.Maybe she's used to getting what she wants, but her hatred for Daniela and now acusations to Fausto baffle me. I know it's impossible to find reason where none exists but maybe that's why I'm trying. Karen's obsessive behaviour when it comes to Fausto is interesting. I wonder what she was like as a child.
The waythe character of Loreta is written doesn't sit well with me. I think I'm a bit tired of 'rich and horrible' type. But Yolanda should take lessons from her. Loreta never stuck to just one husband. If she had had common sense, everything would have been fine. So Yolanda shouldn't take her financial advice.

More Lies: Just the Facts Edition
Part 1 of 4

Angela began stripping. She was naked under her silk dress which slipped down around her ankles, covering her FM shoes. Fuentes got up and kissed her.

Armando denied having anything to do with Angela, asking Lamberto why he would do that to his best friend. He was just convincing enough for Lamberto to leave in a state of confusion.

It was not quite the next morning when Angela dressed to leave Fuentes naked in the bed, She went into the bathroom and he quickly got up, put some powdery substance in a shot glass, and poured the poison of the day into it. He then poured a shot for himself. When she came out he gave her the tainted shot, which she downed in one gulp. He tried moving in on her but she got away and at least out the door. He had quickly put on his shirt and got out just as she was about to collapse from whatever he had put in the shot.

After sunrise Lamberto and Aurora were at the breakfast table. She had managed to sleep but looked far from refreshed. He told her he had to go out to take care of some unfinished business.

Gerardo went into Elsa's room to finish their conversation. [Why the hell didn't he close the door?] He mentioned a pregnancy test, which she was flaking on again. He told her the needed to check her vital signs.

What must have been hours later Angela woke up covered in sheets, with a headache, and only the sound of chirping birds outside the window. She walked uneasily out the door barefoot.

Armando went down to the kitchen in a bad mood, accusing Flor for disobedience for allowing Padre Reynaldo to accompany her and Elsa to see Estela. When his phone rang he dismissed her. It was Angela who called him from the side of the highway. He told her he would pick her up.

He had no idea that Lamberto was following him. [Lamberto should have borrowed another car for this; his car is a little distinctive.]

Gerardo told Elsa she was pregnant but healthy. She became concerned about what to say to her father. Andres didn't yet know. Flor and Gerardo both told her she could count on them. Elena came in, wanting to know what was up. They did not tell her. There was a disagreement between Elsa and Elena about their mother's treatment. When Elena left the room Elsa asked Gerardo to tell her everything; he agreed.

Guillermina arrived at the rectory with a cake. She started talking about Armando's arrest and her doubts the he could commit murder. The padre pretended to know nothing and complimented her on the cake.

Andres left the house to meet with Elsa. Silvia warned him about this and he told her he was taking every precaution.

Armando found Angela, got out of the car, and hugged her when she rushed into his arms. She told him what she could remember and realized she had been drugged. She had no idea what happened after she had passed out. He had his back to the road and didn't see Lamberto pull up behind his car. Lamberto got out and there was a confrontation. She tried to lie her way out of this, claiming she had called a taxi from her friend's house and the driver tried to assault her. Lamberto didn't fall for this and dragged her to his car and told Armando this was not over.

Elsa and Andres met at the lake. He had found a psychiatrist who agreed to see Estela. He was thrilled to find out that Elsa was pregnant.

Nurse Ratched [Surprisingly her name is Dulce] entered Leonidas' office. He told her that Estela was not to receive electroshocks today, the medication was to be suspended, and that her daughter and son-in-law were expected. She was to disavow all knowledge of Estela's treatment. He was also unavailable to visitors. She wrote something on the chart before leaving [Her profile and haircut made her look more like Rosa Klebb].

Angela and Lamberto began arguing on the way back until he told her to shut up.

Elsa and Andres knew they had to flee. However, she wanted to visit her mother before that to tell her she was going to be a grandmother. [Time for another premonition of doom].

Angela and Lamberto got home just as Aurora was going out. She asked her mother what happened, Angela said to ask her father, and Lamberto said that nothing had changed.

Armando got back to the office and called Renzo in. Behind te closed door he told him that a lesson has to be learned, as in Who Is The Boss Around Here. Renzo said this would not be easy.

Dulce showed Elena and Gerardo into Estela's room. Before she left she said to call if they needed her. Estela's eyes were wide open but vacant. Gerardo asked Estela if she recognized him. When she looked at him and had no reply he looked back at Elena and said “Your sister is right; your mother is not well.” Elena said she had not expected to see her mother like this. Gerardo took out the blood pressure gauge and Estela yelled “No more injections! No more injections!” He gently told her to calm down; he wasn't going to give her any. He asked again whether she recognized him. He told her who he was. A few seconds later she yelled “Help me! Armando locked me up in this prison! He locked me up here because I found him in bed with his mistress!”

Elsa didn't want to be separated from her siblings or her mother. Andres said that would not be forever. They had to disappear and get settled. After the baby is born they would contact her family. In the meantime they would be in contact with his mother and sister. He then told her about Angela trying to kill him and that he reported it.

Part 3 of 4

Elena continued to cry out about discovering Armando in bed with his mistress She remembered the accident with Domingo's bicycle and started crying out about wanting to be with her children. Gerardo had Elena step closer to her mother. However when Estela was about to name Angela as the Scarlet Woman Elena began protesting to prevent her saying so. Gerardo got Elena to leave the room, then tried to get Elena to calm down.

Angela called Armando. She was obviously in a state. She said something about getting him to believe the lies she told. Armando said that there was no proof available at this time. She was not to tell anyone anything about this. He said he would make Fuentes pay.

Horacio found Aurora near the fountain. She did not want to talk to him but he talked her into a huge dessert with piles of chantilly cream. They left the area arm in arm.

“This will be the last time we will be separated,” Andres said to Elsa. [We all dread these harbingers of doom]. They talked about Mexico City and having a baby.

Gerardo told Elena he was very worried. He wanted to stay there to keep an eye on Estela. Elena still did not move on her original position on this. He wanted to talk to Leonidas who was not in. She wanted to leave; didn't want to be there another minute. She went out to the car.

Horacio served Aurora a latte and she talked about things being bad in her family without going into detail. He said that all families have problems including his. He didn't want to get married or have children. She said maybe that's the best way. Her problem was that she didn't know whether she genuinely wanted to marry Carlos or just get away from her family. Speak of the devil....

Elsa told Flor about her positive test and that she an Andres were happy, etc. She was sure that her and Andres' love was enough to fight any battle they would face.

Carlos demanded they talk about her doubts. She said they should talk about this calmly. He didn't like that his brother was there for this and told him he was not the person he wanted to talk to. Horacio took the hint and left. Carlos wanted answers since they were supposed to get married in a few days. He was particularly annoyed that she was talking to Horacio about this instead of himself and didn't want to end up getting left at the altar. He got up and left rather than saying something regrettable.

Lamberto visited Adriana to apologize that he could not come to her party the night before. She told What party? Her husband was ill. She had not spoken to Angela for a long time. Lamberto took his leave, telling her to give his regards to her husband.

Gerardo and Elena argued all the way back. She did not want him to talk to her father about this. Gerardo asked how she could expect him to keep quiet about such a thing. If her mother stayed there her condition would only become worse. She insisted that her mother's utterings were pure lies. Gerardo couldn't believe that Elena could prioritize offending her father over her mother's health. She continued to defend her father but Gerardo told her he was going to talk to him whether she like it or not. [Physician, look out for this one. She is the crazy one.]

Aurora had just arrived home when two uniformed police came to the door with an arrest warrant in hand. They told Aurora they needed to talk to her mother. Aurora went upstairs to tell her mother that the police were there on official business. When she got downstairs they told her that they had a report of an attempted homicide. She denied this, saying she was only defending her daughter. They told her that if she didn't appear at the ministerio publico she would be arrested. She refused and repeated her original lie. She tried to make Aurora say it, but the cops were adamant. They handed her the envelope and left. Angela was angry with Aurora, who repeated that she did not want to lie about this and that Andres was not trying to rape her. Angela yelled “Who would you rather see in prison, me or that bastard?” Aurora ran up the stairs with Angela yelling “Traitor! You will regret this!”

Aurora took off her shoes and as soon as she hit the bed Horacio called to find out if she was alright. She said she wasn't but he insisted on coming over in ten minutes. She was okay with that. She went back downstairs.

Elsa was packing for her departure. Flor was concerned, as usual. They hugged and Armando walked in. Elsa made up a story about donating to the poor in the New Year. Armando smiled but when she left the room he looked at Flor and said “What a girl. Does she think me a fool?” then threatened Flor with termination if she helped Elsa in any way.

Lamberto waited outside Silvia's house. When she got home he told her about Angela's accusation against Andres. She reminded him that Andres was incapable of such an act and that Angela had lied many times before. Like the times she had told her she was going to hang out with Estela and was meeting some man instead. She had not told him out of concern about causing issues.

Angela was on the phone with Armando when Lamberto came back. He heard his name being used in vain. Armando told her that she should stick with the taxi story. She agreed, saying he would never know. Lamberto circled around her and waited until she ended the call. “Once more iI walk into something you're trying to hide?” She denied it, there was some shouting. He tried to keep her from running upstairs but did not. The argument continued with him calling her a liar and ended with him locking her in her bedroom.

O / T

In case none of you know yet I just ran into the news that Ignacio Lopez Tarso died on Sunday, March 11th, 2003 at the age of 98. His last novela role was as the dying patient in Medicos, la Linea de Vida.

Diana and Rgv Chick, excellent recap. Ya'll took one for the team covering last night's grief and loss. I had to look away a lot. Great quotation. As always, the recap is vivid and wise. On the not grief and catastrophe side, some of my faves:

Loreta and Tony are at a restaurant playing “Let’s Make A Deal”.

There is a split screen of their two faces [Dani and Fausto] (beauty and the beast).

Yolanda comes into Macario’s room fussing as though he were a wounded bird, rather than the crocodile he is.

It doesn't sound promising for Sebas, so I'm wondering if Lupita might be pregnant, making Eugenio a grandpa.

"...I didn’t see Eugenio as blaming Gaby. I think he was more like projecting his own experience on Gaby. When he was flying the helicopter he had to cooperate with the investigation and now he thinks Gaby should do the same..."

Darcy, I saw it this way as well. Too bad Eugenio's words came so close after Karen spewed her venom.

Absolutely no reason for handcuffs. I'm sure Eugenio was never handcuffed in the aftermath of the helicopter accident.

I've had a weebit of sympathy for Ursa in the past, but no more. She could care less about these innocent people. On top of it all, she knows she'll never get Memo back and she really doesn't want her baby, so her hate is futile. Ghost Cesar, come back and take her out.

Say what you will about Macario, but the rat does know when to make an exit. He left the hospital just in time.

Camino

Rgv Chick, thank you for your very kind and generous words!

You encapsulated last night's dire doings perfectly with "hurt, the anguish, the anger, and the frustration"...ao much devastation.

"How horrible that JP's leg got amputated! I too think this will cause major problems bewteen him and Gaby; I'm sure he will blame her for not stopping sooner" seems very prophetic. There are good souls and kind characters who we have and continue to root for. These deserve our sympathy and our empathy.

"As everyone else has already pointed out, Eugenio can't be left childless...and I'm not counting Karen because after all she has done, she can be none other than the devil's child!" Yes, Karen will suffer in hell, which was always her destiny.

Diana

waterlily, I smiled appreciatively at your "I know it's impossible to find reason where none exists". You just wrote the declarative statement for Karen.

As the adage goes "why ask why". There is no rhyme or reason to explain Karen's thoughts and actions other than that was what her feverish little brain concocted.

You asked what she was like as a child. We can only imagine...

Iexplicable.

Thanks, Urban. All the deets I needed. You certainly nailed Elena visiting her mom: "Estela's eyes were wide open but vacant. I had to look up "Rosa Klebb," but yes! that horrible nurse is like her.

So much for the sweet life in a small town. This town is steaming with the worst people.

Fuentes seemed well prepared to abuse Angela. I don't think this is his first time. Angela wants Armando to kill him, and I can't say, as awful as Angela is, that she's not wrong about that.

Everybody's got secrets, but nobody closes the door when they spill them.

Andres and Elsa are so happy to become young parents. Easier for him, since he at least has graduated high school and is on the fast track at work.

Without the (insane) daily electroshock, Estela was pretty lucid. I hope Gerardo keeps coming so the psy-quack is too scared too keep up the electroshocks.

OT

Que en paz descanse. I enjoyed Ignacio Lopez Tarso as the flirty grandpa in the comedy Amores con Trampa. How rich that he continued working with gusto through his 90s.

PERDONA

Thanks, Urban.

"Why the hell didn't he close the door?" I was thinking the same thing.

"Nurse Ratched [Surprisingly her name is Dulce]" Ha! Ha! that is a good one.

"Gerardo couldn't believe that Elena could prioritize offending her father over her mother's health" Gerardo cannot be THAT blind in reference to his daddy worshipping wifey.

“This will be the last time we will be separated" It would not be a "harbinger of doom" if they both packed up the bare necessities IMMEDIATELY and headed to Mexico City. Unfortunately for us, they will probably hem and haw until it is impossible to escape.

Why do women always end up locked up in rooms??? Why not break the windows and call the police once freed? It isn't medieval times.

Another question I have to ask: Do women keep pregnancy tests in theses novelas as some sort of proof or "souvenir" when it has been in contact with their urine? For that reason, I find the whole pregnancy test stick presentation gross.

Jorge Salinas is so wonderfully evil in this one. His facial expressions are delightful in the most wicked way.

Camino

Niecie, thank you for your unfailingly kind comments.

I'm glad you mentioned the possibility Lupita might be pregnant which has crossed my mind once or twice. I worry that if she is it may signify that Sebastian is indeed going to die but will "live" on through his child.

"Gaby's hate is futile" was perfect!

"Say what you will about Macario, but the rat does know when to make an exit. He left the hospital just in time". Yes, his street smarts are what have kept him alive. Thus far. :)

Thanks, Urban, I enjoyed your Just the Facts Edition. Fuentes really surprised me. He went from being an honest cop to drugging and raping. Although I don’t really feel sorry for Angela.

I’m glad Geraldo is going to try and help Estela. I can’t believe how unfeeling Elena was to her mother. She brings the term “daddy’s girl” to a new level. And she must know he’s guilty. She’s just in denial.

I can’t even imagine what Armando will do to Elsa and Andres. I imagine Andres will rot in jail because Fuentes will have to do as he is told. Now Armando has the upper hand. But maybe Elsa will get away in time!(doubtful).

Ángela and Lamberto have a marriage from hell. She should let him have the divorce. Geraldo and Elena’s marriage is heading that way. How could he have not seen what she was like!

Why do these men lock their wives in their bedrooms? That’s just strange.

Aurora really doesn’t want to lie, which surprised and pleased me. But I bet she will lie to keep her mom out of jail. But there may be hope for her. Carlos just looks weird. Guess it’s the beard.

A truly excellent recap Urban.

"She insisted that her mother's utterings were pure lies". How detestable Elena is! She looked at her mother with cool disattachment...My heart went out to Estela. A prisoner, helpless and alone. I hope Gerardo continues to be worried; he should be very, very worried.

“This will be the last time we will be separated,” Andres said to Elsa. [We all dread these harbingers of doom]." echoes my sentiments exactly. They should leave immediately but as you noted Jarifa "Unfortunately for us, they will probably hem and haw until it is impossible to escape". I can only hope love will triumph but what a hellish journey they will have in the interim.

Armando is a monster, pure and simple.

Why doesn't Horacio leave well enough alone? The writing is on the wall...

Perdona #16

Indeed, Elsa and Andres need to get out of San Juan and go to MC immediately. Elsa can finish school a little later if necessary. I would also recommend they change their names so they would be harder to find. Now we also know that she can count on Gerardo.

Elena's reaction to the manicomio was suspicious. It makes me wonder whether she had ever spent time in one of those herself and her brain got screwed up.

As I said after the previous episode I think Fuentes could get the upper hand if he is in a position to arrest Angela. I was actually expecting the 'I got no satisfaction so I will demand a replay' line, but Fuentes isn't stupid. I am disappointed because while we expect big city narcs to be corrupt a small-town police chief should be honest, especially if he is a homicide detective.

Niecie - Lupita very well could be pregnant. Wow! That would be a bittersweet pill to swallow.

Anonymous- I agree, nothing explains Karen. I am really wondering exactly how old she was when her parents died. Had Frosto’s parents known about him deflowering her??? That’s why he did not marry her, could it be in the Will?

Waterlily - I too am sick of the snobby attitude of both Loretta & Karen, Stefi seems to be childish in her anger, there might still be hope for her. She seems to have grown up slightly from the time her character was introduced.

Darcy - so glad you brought that element to light of Eugenio projecting onto Gaby.

Liz— I can’t keep up with many of the sentences they say, thank you for making sure we knew that Gaby said she could not break the car.
I can feel the sting of not using the name Santos —- Leo will get called on that for certain.

Rgv - doom & gloom all the way- just horrible. Thank you like the others for your dedication to this. Excellent recaps from all.

Urban Anthropologist— all your hard work on so many novelas, it’s impressive.

Diana & Susanlynn - it’s hard to watch this for sure.

Susanlynn - I am having a hard time remembering everyone - but you are inspiring to dance each morning, a great idea for me to begin. Thank you!

I can’t wait for tonight’s episode to be thoroughly explained.

Do we yet know the final night?

Many thank to you all.
