"the game of lies"

the del Rio family struggles with Renata's news that Mariana took the million and left, FJ must find her one last time to find out if she is pregnant, Alejandra appears with those famous words, "¿interrumpo algo?".

Chuy stalks Ale when she goes to the kitchen.

Renata later tells Pascual, haven't you known me long enough not to believe everything I tell the kids?

Cami tells Cesar the news, he is so done with Adriana and ready to move on.

Cesar calms Cami at the beach, now that it's over he has a secret to tell her, but...interrupted, maybe later when the time is right.

Tomas drags Ines to Cesar's furniture shop and sees a pic of Cesar, Adriana, and Noelia, he heads home to tell mama.

earlier, on the way there they ran into Jacinta (Tomas' current favorite pole dancer) whose car is broken down.

Manuel (Cesar's partner) tells Cesar Tomas was there and knows.

Gumchew with a coffee and no gum looks like he could care less Adriana is alive.

Cesar stops by to rip on Rocio, first the necklace, nope Adriana's original mother gave that to her, and to give Adriana the message, he's done, with a tear in her eye she says Adriana didn't do it for the money. (I didn't really get Adriana's earlier flashback about there being an M necklace)

Alejandra tells FJ the reason she didn't toss him is that their wedding will be a major career jump for her and good for the upcoming election, so romantic FJ says.

Cami is off to a place her dad has, and maybe will go all in with Cesar.

Before Tomas can spill, he discovers Adriana's necklace is missing from his bedroom, oh wait, Cesar is standing there holding it.

"SENOR 8" Episode #1203:
Good Morning everyone. Here's my recap of last night's episode:

Deb: Castillo takes Crazy Tracy's gun from her & plans on testing to see if it's been fired.

Novelera: Diana getting her freak on with Creepy Aguirre. She has no idea that psycho was involved in the attack against the Casillas family back in Season 7.

Carmella: Ritula & SuperJavi bickering non-stop LOL.

SpanProf: Tata taking selfies in Tijuana, which kind of annoys Ishmael.

Halimacandy: Aurelio & Felina get into a shootout with a rival gang.

Darcy: Mecha & Roberta see Crazy Tracy, who in turn locks eyes with them & follows them.

VVS: Isturiz & Berenice see each other at her house for a short time period over in Cancun.

Thanks so much, deb, for your mini-recap! It's perfect just to get the ball rolling.

We saw a new side of Alejandra last night. It seems it's not so much her obsession with FJ that is driving her, it's her re-election campaign. She really wants to look like the perfect woman with the perfect marriage to appeal to constituents.

Renata's conversation with Pascual aka Big Ed was an eye opener. Because she said she doesn't tell her children the truth, we can't be sure that DAMA is alive. We know the million dollars happened because of FJ getting the information out of the company finance guy, but who knows if DAMA really has it. It would be odd to give someone all that money and then kill them, but Renata is one twisted sister.

I'm very curious about what Tomás will have to say about how he got that necklace that DAMA swore she'd be buried with in one of the flashbacks.

Others have mentioned this, but it's very odd for César to have fallen for Camila so quickly. At the very beginning they portrayed him as deeply in love with a woman who didn't seem capable of reciprocating. She's been gone, what, 6 days now? And he's completely switched to Cami? This makes him seem a bit guilty.

Deb, thank you for the details as the mystery deepens .

Tomas is a little weasel. He always looks sneaky.

The dynamic between Pasqual,Renata, and Eva is interesting .

The senator always seems to be hovering in the house , and Chuy, in turn, is always hovering around her.

Novelera, yes, Cesar fell for Cami very quickly . Perhaps the shock of learning that his wife had several secret lives made him seek a less complicated person . Cami gives off a calm, easygoing vibe. Plus Adriana (the person Cesar knew) wasnt a very nice person . That birthday party was grim.

"SENOR 8" Episode #1204:

Novelera or Deb: I won't be able to do the recap for tonight's episode due to watching replay of the 2023 Big 10 Championships in Women's Gymnastics.

I will likely be doing recap for Monday's upcoming episode next week though 😎

Thanks very much, deb, for your delightful and helpful mini-recap.

It continues to be difficult to know who did what to Adriana and why. Just as we thought we'd gotten a confession from Renata that she paid Adriana off to go far away, we find her taking it back (maybe) when she talks with Big Ed about not believing everything she tells the kids. And I don't remember who says this, but someone wisely points out that being a Del Rio would have given MAD a lot more than Renata's $1 million bribe. So somehow I feel I'm back on square one.

I'm not sure whether Chuy is all brawn, no brains, but he seems capable of just one line: "You [Alejandra] deserve someone who values you."

There's a similar line that more than one person has said to FJ: "You deserve someone who values you for more than your family name and money."

I guess we knew that Big Ed wouldn't use the knife he picks up. He does hesitate, but in the end, he puts it down, and Renata is apparently none the wiser.

So César, holding the A necklace, confronts Tomás in his room. I enjoyed his asking Tomás, "Have you told your brother that the two of you share an amante whom you made pregnant?" None of this accounts for the M necklace. I had assumed that it stood for Mariana. And perhaps it does.

juego, #14, "La partida"

"the game of lies"

Cesar and Tomas chat, we hear how Mariana saved his life, with a scene of her hovering about looking after him at the bar, his reason to quit drinking, when alcohol no longer is your friend as she put it, and a story about her godmother (Rocio) who lost everything to drink and became a dancer at a girly bar, he and Mariana were just friends.

but Tomas worries about Cami, they strike a deal, Cesar is leaving and will tell Cami the truth, Tomas will hold off, too late, Renata sees Cesar leaving Tomas' room, gets Tomas to talk.

Marquez researches Adriana, dna shows Rocio is not her mom, she grew up in nearby orphanage but was never adopted, nuns said she had an overactive imagination and was always lying, Gumchew chews on it.

Noelia spots FJ lurking, promised not to tell her dad but since FJ is mommies friend lets him know Adriana (or someone I think) is emailing her, FJ tells Grandma when he catches him there, she tells Cesar.

Cesar falls in bed with Cami, Chuy walks in on them the next morning but who cares, Cami is in heaven.

Renata sets Eva to research Cesar on a Saturday morning, she can't just payoff/kick Cesar out, she needs to exorcise him from Cami's heart.

FJ discovers the carpenter is Cesar, what?

an where is Noelia?

Renata gives Cesar a choice, he can return to his daughter renouncing Cami as a fling, or go to jail for stealing Renata's jewelry.

but who will finish the Pergola?

juego

ah, Alejandra appears to be setting the hook in Chuy, later talks to Cami about having a fling with the help, no, no, Cami says, she is in love, Alejandra looks confused.

Juego

Deb, thank you for that snappy recap. My favorite line was " but who will finish the pergola?"

Is DAMA alive and texting Noeli?

Since DAMA seems to have known Tomas and FJ , how did she miss Chuy?

juego

MANY thanks, deb, for another delightful recap. I love how you're able to convey so much so concisely and wittily (is that a word?).

As usual, the episode left me with more questions than answers.

One non-question thing I found interesting: Tomás's account of how he first met MAD, and his insistence that it was NOT a romantic involvement. Though that doesn't mean he couldn't have fathered MAD's child (if, in fact, she really was pregnant), it does make his being the father less likely. (Of course, in this novela, "less likely" sometimes turns out to be "more likely."

I'm somewhat puzzled by where Camila and César are when Chuy barges in. Would they really do the deed in Renata's house? Also, would Chuy ever barge into Camila's room without first knocking? But if they weren't in Renata's house, where were they?

Another question: who is sending emails to Noelia? I kinda doubt that it's MAD. But if not MAD, then who. Whoever it is is pretending to be Noelia's mother. Who would benefit from doing so? And what email address are the emails coming from? (I at times have tried to identify a message as legit or not by looking at all the headers and tracing the IP numbers. If a relative novice like me can do that....)

And (as you also have asked) where the heck is Noelia? Has Renata already kidnapped her? I kinda doubt it, but that may only make it more likely.

Good way for the novela to leave us to ponder over the weekend.
Again, thanks VERY much for the recap!

juego

Thanks again, deb, for putting up another terrific short recap. I don't know how you do it. And you always come up with a zinger like "who will finish the pergola?"

Juanita, I believe the room where César and Cami did the deed was the room allocated to César when he was "hired" as resident "carpintero". I seem to recall someone saying that, because he lived far away, they'd give him a room in the mansion. Maybe it was Cami who set it up. She obviously knew he lived in San Clemente because she drove him to his house, allowing Noelia to see that hug.

I'm starting to be on board with Pascual's plan to do away with his wife. My God! She's planning to frame César for "stealing" her jewelry if he doesn't ghost Cami. Even worse, he can't just block her cell number, he has to tell her in person that what happened between them was just a fling.

I hadn't thought of Noelia's disappearance as being part of Renata's plot. I actually thought she might have been getting emails from DAMA. But I do not think she'd want Noelia to join her...wherever. She is pretty far from motherly.

I like FJ's scenes with Noelia. The actor is, of course, gorgeous. But he gets an opportunity in those scenes to not look like an entitled jerk. And he's established a rapport with the child not only to get information, but I think he's fond of her as the child of the woman he loves.

Too bad Tomás, a major wimp, couldn't fend off his mother's questions and keep César's identity a secret until he could talk to Cami about it. Pretty sure she's going to find out some other way and be angry. There always has to be a TN way to keep the lovers apart for weeks on a time until the "misunderstanding" is cleared up.

I was disgusted with Alejandra's on-and-on about how unsuitable César is. And she's obviously pretty close to starting things with Chuy. That talk they had last night...wasn't she in a pair of sexy shorty pajamas, with a flimsy robe on over them?

Thank you deb for providing the great recaps! I am very late to the commenting party as I was away on business and had no time to watch the Thursday/Friday episodes. I just wanted to thank you for the highlights!
