#24 "Los secretos de la senadora"

Cesar and Marquez talk strategy, Marquez turns a little cold when she hears Cami was there, so everyone wants to be a cop, Marquez says, maybe Cami can help, Cesar throws out.

Cami (who has seen the pics with ale and Adriana) asks Ale about her, nope, never met Adriana.

Renata has showered and as Pascual goes for his she grabs his phone and calls Kevin the dentist, why are you still here she asks Adriana, what?, it's complicated Adriana replies, we are all ears but the phone goes dead.

Vero the entertainment journalist shows up at mansion del Rio to cover Ale's press conference, looking down on the house help, Olga and Chuy, with questions, they slide away, there's coffee somewhere Olga throws out.

Pascual has breakfast and a fresh cup of coffee for Renata, how nice, she dumps the coffee as soon as he is gone.

the press conference starts with Ale announcing they are moving up the wedding, things couldn't be better, FJ is all in, next on to Tomas, who of course all agree is innocent, but then Ale who is the defender of all of the women of California throws in, but if he's not ...

Cami's back at Cesar's, she spills on the photo booth pics of Adriana and Ale, he spills on the emails from Adriana coming from a government encrypted computer, Ale ??? but Ale and Cami have been friends forever, the Cesar/Cami trust is building, Cesar says he will never let her go, Cami says, you already have.

Ines visits Tomas at the jail, he doesn't think he can last much longer, Ines assures him she has his back, (must be the code of the invisible people)

Renata confronts Ale about betraying them on Tomas, Ale throws out how Renata knew FJ was cheating on her, we're even.

Renata confronts Pascual on still hanging out with Adriana, threatens to tell FJ about his dad betraying him, was it the woman or beating out on your son she asks, Pascual goes for the throat, (can't wait on the poison), but slides into submission for a little damage control.

Chuy breaks down about Ale and FJ getting back together, if only I had money, (like a million).

Ale pulls Vero aside, drop Cesar from your story and maybe we can work together, I can get you inside info on Tomas.

Ray brings Cami to see Tomas, Tomas spills on the 5 eggs from Adriana and how he can't have physical sex because of dad, and... Cami looks like she swallowed a quart of ice cream and is having a brain freeze.

Renata pulls Chuy aside, I have a task for you, (start boinking Ale, nope) follow Pascual 24/7.

Pascual pulls Eva aside, double the poison doses, I'm running out of time, time for what she asks, err... the kids need to be free of her, I'm not your slave Eva says.

Cami and Ines meet at the foundation, Cami wants to see her emails from Adriana, she and Cesar suspect it's another person, you still love him Ines asks? nope.

Noelia is out of school and searching for someone, a lady shows up, sent by her mother, oh know.

 

"SENOR 8" Episode #1214:

Howdy from the Alamo City Caray Caray family. I hoped you all enjoyed the Easter holiday break, etc., here's a very SHORT mini-recap of last night's episode:

*Psycho Jaime discussing campaign promotional pictures with Berenice at their residence in Cancun. I don't think she's interested in that LOL.

*Two suspicious looking folks wearing all-black open fire at Karla as she was walking toward her automobile. Last we saw, Karla ducked behind the left side of the vehicle.

*Castillo gets notified about the shooting & leaves his meeting with DEA Boss.

*Psycho Tracy & DEA Lackey take their belongings out of the vehicle & leave for the nearest airport, we can assume they're heading to DEA HQ.

*Alfaro looking at some stuff about Dahlia following his meeting with Dahlia. Does this dude have enough time to focus on his current job ?

*Mecha collapses in front of Roberta & What's His Face (forgot his name).

*Ritula, Laura, Ishmael, Skinny, Grenas find out about the shooting ambush of Karla.

Thanks so much, deb, for another quick, witty recap.

Well, we do now know for sure that Adriana is alive and kicking. That was definitely her on the phone with Renata.

I think the reason Alejandra doesn't want César mentioned in Vero's reporting is to keep the presser on message about her "brave defending" of women despite marrying into a family with a family member in the slammer. Plus mentioning César could lead to Adriana, where Ale has some remote possibility of FJ being revealed as Adriana's lover and possible rival for Ale.

I hope that cliffhanger ending is a big fake. I'm not ready for Noelia to be whisked off anywhere. I'm 99% sure it isn't Adriana who sent the woman.

Verónica sure has cojones. She asked Olga to let her roam around the Del Rio mansion. Who does that?

I'll say this much for Renata, she wasn't having Ale's performance at the poorly attended presser. She kept interrupting and saying Tomás is innocent, not letting Ale stay on message.

I got a kick out of Pascual meeting DAMA at the bar. She gives him a flirtatious look and he's right out of his seat and closing in when his own son shows up and introduces the two of them.

OT, I get a lot of random movie channels in Spanish. Last night I watched part of one called Narco Terror with a 24 year old Big Ed trying to save his father from some bad narcos. He had that same hairstyle as a lot of guys in the 80's.

Thank you Deb for the brief but all encompassing recap of last night's episode. Please teach me how to do that!! :)

I have finally caught up and I don't have any idea what's going on! LOL Except I wasn't at all surprised that DAMA is Kevin...Pascual was way too interested in the answer when he kept asking Thomas if he was really still in contact with Adriana. I figured he had to be in contact with her too...but sleeping with his son's lover? Or is there an even deeper level to this than that? It would appear it's the lover angle, especially with Eva reading the messages from Pascual to Kevin saying they will be together after his wife dies, but that's pretty predictable and nothing around here is predictable so I am still expecting it to be more complicated.

I agree that Ale is trying to kill the Cesar story because she doesn't want the additional spotlight on the family and wants to protect her campaign. Right now, I am also wondering if she is the one who set up Thomas because she had WANTED him to go to jail so she could become the candidate who defended all women even when she had to send her BIL to jail.

Is Ale 'Carita Sucia'? Are she and DAMA in this together? Maybe they plotted it all together since the very beginning including DAMA's seduction of FJ?

Why is Ines visiting Thomas in jail and promising her devotion when she was stabbing him in terror last we saw???

I actually do think Adriana might be behind the meetup with Noelia, for now at least, I think Miss Adriana has her fingers in all the intrigue going on around here, she just isn't acting alone. She told Renata the reason she's hanging around is complicated....maybe she now needs Noelia for some reason....to be clear, I hope not because I'd hate to see that poor child used, but I can see her trying to convince Noelia to get information and/or an item for her and not tell daddy...

#25 – El Secuestro – Parte 1 de 3

So…not a head fake for Viewerville. Noelia did go off with the woman who said she had come to take the child to her mother. A school bus rolls slowly by, and then we see César parked across the street in his pickup. He comes to ask a teacher why Noelia hasn’t come out yet. He’s told they let her go because an email came from the mother authorizing the pickup.

Eva gives Renata the vial of poison wrapped in a plastic bag. Renata wanted Pascual’s fingerprints on it, just in case. Eva tells her that hers are on there as well.

Yvonne isn’t giving up. She’s come to see César. Elvira sees right through her. She accuses Yvonne of using César’s problems to get herself on TV.

Alejandra comes to see Cami at the foundation. So highhanded! She’s come to say that her press person saw Cami visit César. [What? They’re following the Del Rios?] Cami fires back about how Ale practically accused Tomás of murder during a publicity event. Ale replies that he could well have done it. Somehow Cami refrains from slapping her. But she shows her the photo on her phone of Eva and DAMA in the photo booth.

Gumchew shows up at JetAir. He ogles Eva from behind. When she turns around, he gives her a smirk and offers her a piece of gum. Now looking closely at her front, he announces that he’s here to see Renata Del Rio.

When Pascual comes to see his wife and announces some pretext for going out, Renata sends Chuy to follow him.

What Barros has come to show Renata are some photos of César the day he came to see Estela in the hospital.

César blows up at the people at the school, and rightly so. Everyone in San Clemente probably knows that Adriana Molina is missing. Why would they let the child go off with a stranger because of an email. A little girl who knows Noelia tells César that the car that took her was black and elegant.

After Cami tells Alejandra that she lied about not knowing Mariana, Ale admits it. We see a flashback of when the two perras met. It was an event at the foundation. Adriana poured it on thick, flattering Ale with her record on women’s issues. Then they had a meeting that included Inés at the foundation. Adriana is blathering on about an event raising funds for Ale’s campaign at the foundation, in spite of Inés saying the foundation can’t be involved in politics.

Alejandra goes on to tell Cami that Mariana mentioned wealthy friends in Miami that might contribute to Ale’s re-election. Camila brings up the government protected IP address she and César had discussed, but Ale just scoffs. She says thousands could have that sort of protected address. And (as we all have wondered) what would she gain emailing a 9 year old.

Pascual arrives…somewhere. Chuy watches him checking that his hair is just right and then going into a house after a woman opens the door. Chuy sneaks up, peeks through the window, looks shocked, and then runs off.

Gumchew tells Renata that Estela died a couple of hours after César left. But he has a way to change this up. Renata is delighted. He mentions the new job in L.A, and that she needs a “trustworthy” guy looking out for her there.

César looks at Noelia’s computer. [Carpentry business must be good; kid has a tablet AND a computer.] He finds another all-caps email that includes a photo of a resort Noelia will love. He remembers when he and Linda went through DAMA’s things and found that photo of the same resort torn out of a magazine. Written on the back of the torn-out piece is a note: Here’s where we’ll spend the million. It’s signed Carita Sucia

César goes over the resort photo with Linda Márquez. He tells her his suspicions about Ale. She tries to calm him. She tells him they’ve put out an Amber Alert. Yvonne rushes in, wanting to help. Linda gives her a look a bit like the one she gave Cami when she saw her close to César.

Elvira convinces César to join her in praying to La Virgencita.

Pascual comes home quite surprised to see Renata enjoying salmon and a good white wine. She tells him she felt badly for a few days, but now she’s better than ever. Gumchew texts Renata about Noelia. Her face doesn’t show anything at all.

Ale calls Chuy. She can’t stop thinking about him. Renata comes in so Ale gets a hangup. Renata shows Chuy a photo on her phone, and he confirms that the woman Pascual met was Adriana. Renata, to herself: “I found you!”

#25 – El Secuestro – Parte 3 de 3

Cami finds out on TV about Noelia. She’s still at Ale’s. César arrives, enraged, and accuses Ale of taking his child. Cami convinces Ale not to call the police.

Renata tells Eva about Pascual having a thing with his own son’s lover. She pulls out the baggie with the poison vial and tells Eva to eliminate him!

Francisco Javier comes to talk with his father about Tomás. He reminds his father that he did the same thing with him (FJ), using outings with a son as an excuse to see women. But Tomás was too sensitive. FJ tells him about Tomás being too traumatized to ever be with a woman. But he wants to be a father. FJ says that Mariana donated eggs that have already been fertilized and exist as frozen embryos. His brother will be looking for a “rent a womb” when he’s free.

Eva goes through with it and gives Pascual a cup of poisoned coffee.

Cami and César see that Noelia’s disappearance is on the news. Announced, of course, by Verónica.

Ale comes to tell FJ and Pascual about César showing up at her house. She tells them that all is NOT well. Por primera vez las encuestas me dan como perdedora. (The polls show me losing.) She says it’s all Tomás’ fault. And FJ and Pascual just sit there and let her say it.

César shows Inés and Cami the email on Noelia’s computer. They agree that it doesn’t look right. There are no accent marks, no commas, and written in all caps. César tells them that Adriana would never have written something like that. Cami tells them that that’s also true of Ale.

Yvonne’s aunt tells Elvira she saw Noelia in that luxurious black car. And the child was quite content.

The press is again outside Cesar’s house. He talks to them this time. He asks the viewers for their help in finding Noelia. He appeals to them as parents.

Cami visits Tomás and lets him know that Ray is working on getting him house arrest. She asks him to describe those emails he received that were supposedly Mariana asking him to come to what turned out to be very near Jacinta’s house. Then she goes on to say that she thinks the whole email thing is a farce. She thinks that Noelia is with her mother.

Linda Márquez shows César a video from the school cameras that show the woman helping Noelia into that black vehicle.

Pascual comes to tell Renata that Tomás wants to be a father. And that Mariana donated her eggs so he could be one. We see Renata’s jaw drop.

Gee, Adriana was sleeping with father and son while donating eggs to the younger son. She was a very busy buzzy bee.

Chuy looked shocked...shocked , I tell you....when he peeked in that window .

Eva, chief poisoner , is caught in the middle of this murderous pair . Renata has turned the tables and is now the poisoner. Will Pasqual start having tummy aches?

Darcy, yes, perhaps Ale is Dirty Face. I thought it might be Ines.

Eva just isn't cut out for a life on the dark side, sadly she had to spill on how she has always loved Pascual before handing him his coffee, of course he could care less, gulps it down and asks for another.

yes, straightening his hair before he goes to the door, that's our Pascual, but why did Chuy gasp when he peeked in?

and the shock on Pascual's face when he is told about Tomas and his 5 eggs (I don't really want to know how they got fertilized). Why can't his son make a baby like a real man? and of course Renata shares his disbelief.

curious how it was Tomas that introduced Adriana to Ale, he seems to be Adriana's entry point into the del Rio family, and curious how after taking on FJ as a lover Adriana toys with Ale, and curious how Ines was in on the later meetings, she has always known more than she says, funny how she too wanted pics with Adriana and Ale, but of course she is just hired help.

"Largate", haven't heard that word in a while, Ale's response to Cesar barging into her house.

hmm, I wonder how long before the pendulum swings the other way and Noelia misses her dad, did she take her tablet with her?

so if Adriana is alive, she must be playing this game alongside Carita Sucia.


something I have been toying with is for a surprise ending how about if the murderer is the least suspected, Cami, which has me noticing how as a character she is changing, going from the naive do-gooder kitten looking for a snuggle to an actual player, interesting how she has Cesar hooked but is holding him off, and also how she has stepped away from her family and is now making the rules, and recently how she is standing close to Ale. Nah...

Thanks VERY much, novelera, for this superb recap! I helped me a lot to better understand what's happening. Of course, I'm still completely mystified by who is behind all this intrigue and what his/her/their motive(s) may be.

Yes, in the flashback where Adriana meets Alejandra, Adriana really lays it on thick, so much so that at one point I think even Alejandra was becoming somewhat suspicious (or perhaps that was just my feeling that she SHOULD have been suspicious).

I remember asking several episodes ago what Alajandra would gain from writing to Noelia. Last night, it occurred to me that if Alejandra is working with Adriana, perhaps she's writing these emails at Adriana's request, and that her reward will be much-wanted campaign fund$. It's clear that Ale will do just about anything to advance her campaign.

I too enjoyed watching Pascual make sure his hair is just right before knocking on Adriana's door. As for Chuy's shocked look and rapid getaway after he looked in the window, my assumption is that he recognized DAMA and was stunned both that she was alive and that Pascual was coming to, um, see her. And Chuy also wanted to get away quickly before either Pascual or DAMA saw him.

I wasn't at all surprised when the older woman came to pick up Noelia at school. As soon as Noelia received that email saying that there was a special place Adriana wanted her to see, I fully expected that she would either be kidnapped or tricked into leaving. I wonder whether she will in fact be taken to Adriana. If she is, surely it won't be because Adriana misses her.

As for how Adriana's eggs became embryos, I suspect that there's a procedure used quite commonly for this kind of situation. Quite possibly the reason that Tomás accompanied DAMA to the gynecologist's office was so that he could provide his sperm, which would then be used to fertilize one or more of the eggs.

I have my doubts about how good a father Tomás would be, but I confess that I was nonetheless a little bothered by the fact that both Pascual and FJ also felt that Tomás would not be a good father.I guess I don't trust their motives for feeling that way.

They added an episode, numbered it 25 and even named it The Kidnapping but the video attached is actually episode 24 so we'll see if they correct that and actually upload the correct episode.

I didn't see it but from everyone's comments I'm wondering about Chuy's look of shock too. Maybe he saw Noelia in the room with Adriana and Pascual?

What a fantastic group of conspiracy theorists! We are definitely having a great time looking for the villain, or villains.

Susanlynn, ITA about DAMA being a busy bee. Apparently she spent her daylight hours, after quitting her job at the bookstore, sucking up to the rich and boinking, at least, Francisco Javier.

deb, we are all wondering about Chuy's shocked expression. Whatever it was, he didn't tell Renata anything except that the photo on her phone was the woman in the house. And, yes, it's quite typical of Pascual to be unable to even wrap his head around Tomás not having sex with women.

I'm not on board with Cami being a villain. Her holding César at bay is quite in keeping with the well-known behavior of "good girls" in TNs. Now she knows about the lie he told about his wife being dead, she's not going to be jumping into the hay with him. She's also sticking up for Tomás, believing in his innocence.

Juanita, very interesting theory about Ale helping Adriana to get access to those Miami Big Bucks. But the recent emails came after she discovered her sleeping with FJ, so there's that.

I think that FJ and Pascual's doubts about Tomás as a father stem from his obvious damaged psyche. Who's to say he won't start drinking like a fish after there's a baby in his life? If it's a colicky one, I can relate!

Darcy, that's a great suggestion, Chuy seeing Noelia there. Somehow I still doubt that DAMA has her child with her. But we'll see.

#26 "El regreso de Adriana"

Renata lays it out for Pascual, tell Adriana to get rid of the eggs and leave.

Cami stops by to see Cesar, and gets the VIP treatment past Linda and Yvonne (loving Marquez's looks)

the civil wedding is in a couple of days (the big ceremonious one will be after the election) and Vero has set up a photo shoot at the del Rio mansion, Vero is not happy Ale has not come through with any hot tips, she spills that Cami is visiting Cesar, and afterwards gets Cami's info from FJ so she can interview her.

Chuy is uncomfortable with the wedding buzz, he tips FJ, I know where Adriana is.

Ale looks down on FJ, first your brother is arrested, now your sister is in a hotbed of reporters, are the del Rios trying to sabotage my campaign, I need you to control things, yes, yes FJ is all in.

Ray has arranged for Tomas to be under house arrest.

Adriana calls Cesar, we need to save Noelia, they took her to get to me (did she mention the Boss), Cesar spills to his mom.

Eva is having trouble poisoning the man she and Renata love, what about when you tried to poison me Renata asks, I didn't love you Eva says.

Noelia wants to borrow a phone to call pop, nope, and is beginning to see through the facade, but not quite the 2 way mirror she recognized from her trip to the police station.

Adriana calls again, gives Cesar location of a gas station, she'll give Noelia's location once he is there, Elvira wants the address.

Tomas arrives home to a family greeting, Renata takes him aside, this wasn't cheap, you owe me, get rid of the eggs.

Tomas explains, this was his dream, to give a son the happiness his dad never gave him, Renata tells him to get a dog.

FJ is getting frantic to see Adriana and doesn't want to wait till tomorrow, now, nope, tonight Chuy tells him, but how did you find her, Chuy reminds FJ, the deal was no questions.

FJ makes time to see Tomas to apologize, Tomas isn't buying it, you told mom about the eggs.

Ines sqwings by to see Tomas but gets intercepted by Renata, give me back the million and leave, Renata says, can't, it's Adriana's money she emailed me an account, but I want to make sure it's her.

Pascual swings by to ask Tomas for forgiveness, but his poor memory of those days isn't helping, Tomas brings up the Russian girl he paid to console him, who whispered in his ear, jail brought back all of his memories.

it's dark and Chuy with FJ arrive at the Adriana house, Chuy has lock picks to get in.

Cesar arrives at the gas station, Adriana calls, she is outside in her car...

So now Pasqual is the one getting poisoned by Eva! I'm pretty sure that if Eva tries to weasel out, Renata will blackmail her with her fingerprints on the poison.

I also don't think Cami will turn out to be the killer.

"Tomas explains, this was his dream, to give a son the happiness his dad never gave him, Renata tells him to get a dog." Yeah, I don't think that's how it works, Renata.

I'm having doubts if it's really Adriana outside or if it's a trap.

Wow, Alejandra becomes more obnoxious with each episode. All she can think of is herself and her senatorial campaign. She complains to FJ about his family's sabotaging that campaign, and he seems to agree that he'll deal with it. I'm guessing that he does that just to shut her up until he can find out whether Adriana is really alive and nearby. Though frankly, choosing either one of those women would be a big mistake.

I loved Eva's response to Renata about why she was able to try to poison her but not Pascual: "I didn't love you."

So Renata tells Tomás to destroy the eggs and get a dog. But he already has a perra for a mother, he doesn't need another dog.

Noelia is one smart 9-year-old, able to play nice but also to switch gears and let the woman who is with her that the woman has essentially kidnapped her.

I'm not sure what to make of the episode's end. It certainly looked like Adriana in the car, but arranging for César to meet her there sends up all kinds of danger signals. I guess we'll find out more tonight.

Juanita, on Adriana what I first thought of was how Tomas said he was set up being lured to Jacinta's place, but then supposedly since Adriana did not kidnap Noelia, the emails weren't from her.

also interesting is how Cami's suspicion of the emails led Ines not to transfer the million.

I guess as a politician you have to work all the angles, which Ale tries to do.

also Chuy's concern for FJ's relationship to Ale had him comment on whether Chuy likes Ale more than he does.

I've been wondering if Carita Sucia and Adriana had a falling out but then Adriana mentioned the boss, which opens up a whole new level.

The Del Rio kids did NOT hit the jackpot when it comes to parents. Their respective treatment of Tomás was simply awful. Pascual comes to try to humble himself a little bit; but I was struck by the language he used with Tomás. He kept asking his youngest to forgive him. That's backwards to me. Instead of a heartfelt apology for dragging his son to places where he could have sex with prostitutes, he kept asking Tomás to forgive him. He just wants some quick and dirty absolution and doesn't want to own what he did. He even tried to wiggle out of it by barely remembering bringing him there once.

And Renata. Her son has, with help from Ray, managed to get away from prison. But instead of offering him her support until he's cleared in a trial, she rips into him. She heartlessly criticizes his ability to parent. At some point she says to herself: What did I do (wrong)? Got an hour, Renata, I'd be happy to fill you in.

Of course, that's how the writers wanted it, but why didn't Renata grab up Chuy and rush over to the house where DAMA is staying? An entire day goes by after she said I've found you and nada?

I'm sure that is DAMA in the car at the gas station. I definitely recognized her face. Whether or not she's trying to get her daughter back or setting a trap for César remains to be seen.

I also noticed the look Linda Márquez exchanged with Yvonne when Elvira wrapped her arms around Camila and brought her to César's bedroom, where he was lying down with tears in his eyes.

It wouldn't surprise me if Noelia managed to get away. She's one clever little girl. She reminded me of Sofía in La Reina del Sur 2. Whoever is holding Noelia, it strains credulity that they'd have a one-way mirror in place where they're holding the child.

I agree it was DAMA in the van, no doubt. I have no idea what she actually wants. I think she's either an evil mastermind or a terrified victim of 'the boss'. Every episode I get more and more confused by what is going on in this one, which I actually like. The writers are doing a good job building a mystery so far, I hope they can keep it up.

I am late to comment and there's not much I can add to the excellent comments that have already been shared today. I can't wait til we know enough to form a theory that doesn't change daily lol.
