#29 part 1 of 3 (some scenes are combined)

FJ tells Cesar he is sure Adriana is being held hostage because he received a call from her and then a woman asking for 5 million dollars. (Juanita and deb, I must have fallen asleep as I got caught up last week and totally missed that call. I did not mean to cause more confusion).

FJ wants Cesar to ask Noelia more about the place she was being held. He refuses to make his daughter go through any of that again and then tells FJ to ask his fiancée where Adriana is being held. FJ looks surprised as Cesar tells him about the emails from a governmentally protected computer and how Camila discovered Alejandra and Adriana knew each other.

At the Del Rio Zoo (thank you Juanita!) the pride lion (thank you novelera!) Pasqual leaves a message for Adriana telling her to call him back and explain this story that she has been kidnapped. His stomach hurts him. Renata brings him a Tums or something and tells him to feel better soon, she is sure it is just a “stomach bug.” She tells him that if Adriana has been kidnapped, she is not going to spend one more cent on her. The kidnappers can kill her for all she cares. She will wait for him downstairs for dinner. He makes faces and mimics Renata behind her back as she walks away.

Chuy is complaining to Olga about Renata firing him. Olga wants to lobby on his behalf or to have FJ do it since Chuy got in trouble because of him. Chuy is angry and refuses help. These people owe us, he says. We owe them nothing.

Cami packs the rest of her things as Ray joins her. He asks her if she really loves Cesar? Yes, she does, is the response. He wants her to testify against Cesar and share what Estela told her in order to save her brother. This dilemma to save her brother and not expose Cesar has Cami torn.

Rocio shows up at Cesar’s house to say hello to Noelia. She immediately wants Rocio to tell him about Cara Sucia. Rocio only shares that Cara Sucia was not a good influence on Adriana. Noelia is insistent that she wants to find out who and where he is because Adriana clearly said that he was behind everything going on. Cesar is clear with Noelia that Adriana has made it crystal clear she does not want anything to do with them. Noelia is not happy with this answer.

Back at the Zoo, a sushi dinner is enjoyed as Renata laments that the Governor cannot make the wedding and Pasqual is happy two of his children are there for dinner. Ale wonders, yet again, where FJ might be. He has not been around all day. As Tomas shares the good news with Ale that his DNA was not found at Jacinta’s place, FJ walks in, glad they all are there. He wants Ale to explain to him how she knew Adriana. When did they become friends and share emails?

Ale becomes very angry. She says that the “loca” was the one who got close to her to use her influences. Tomas looks very uncomfortable with this conversation and Ale never mentions he was the one who introduced them. She tosses it back in FJ’s face that she is not going to give any explanation. He was the one sleeping with Adriana while they were together, he is humiliating her again and she is not so quick to forgive this time around. She thinks the wedding should be cancelled because that woman is only going to torture her the rest of her life as FJ is clearly still obsessed with her.

She storms out of the living room only to be caught in the foyer by Chuy. She hates FJ more every day! He promises to save her and seals this statement with one hot kiss.

 

Episode #29 part 2 of 3

Renata is up early poisoning Pasqual’s morning coffee. She is almost caught by Olga and joking tells her to take the tray up to the bedroom, least the lion king suspect something. Like what? Olga innocently asks. Like I am poisoning him, says Renata with a laugh…ha-ha, just kidding Olga. Chuy comes into the kitchen and Renata snarks as to why he is still there. He wants to talk to her. She knows he only did what she asked of him. Renata chases Olga out of the room as Chuy tells her that he will spill the beans to FJ how he knew where Adriana was hiding.

He offers to be Renata’s right hand man as her children trust him and so does Cesar. He wants to be paid appropriately for his work. He is done making pennies as the gardener. Renata tells him to get back to work, but if he is disloyal again, she will make him pay. Chuy leaves and Ray comes in to show Renata the picture of Cami and Cesar kissing. This is clearly more serious than you thought, he tells her.

Surprise, surprise, Yvonne the chimosa is back on TV with Vero. She shares the story Noelia shared with her about the kidnapping. Vero has the upper hand though as the picture taken of Cami and Cesar kissing has hit the front page of the newspapers. Vero claims that Cesar certainly got rid of Adriana fast so he could be with Camila Del Rio. Yvonne is shocked!
Elvira is knitting and watching the TV. She calls Cesar to see what Yvonne is up to. This brings in Noelia as well who sees the photo and is furious with Cesar about lying to her about Cami. They are novios! What about her Mamita? Cesar has a nice heart-to-heart with Noelia and tries to explain that like Adriana, he also has a right to move on with his life. He does love Camilia. Noelia is not happy or impressed with this discussion.

Alejandra arrives at her house, wearing the same red dress from the day before. Cami greets her with a good morning, where did you spend the night last night amiga? (Where did she and Chuy hang out? In the gardening shed?). It is not a good morning snaps Ale. Thanks to you, I am dropping in the polls and will never recover (try campaigning!).

She tosses the paper down with the picture of Cesar and Cami kissing. Ale is laying all the blame of her non-existent campaign numbers at the feet of the Del Rio family, particularly Cami and Tomas. Cami tells her to dial it down, not her fault that the campaign is not going well. She only cares about poor Noelia seeing this picture without any explanation. She is heading back to Cesar’s house, deal with it Ale and go take a shower! (Cami didn’t say that, but we were all thinking it!).

Renata and Ray continue to discuss the photo of Cami and Cesar. Renata tells Ray that she is worried about Camil because she is sure Cesar is using her to clean his name. She shares that Cesar apparently has a bank account in a tax haven country where he is expecting a million dollars to be deposited. Renata asks Ray for his help convincing Cami that Cesar is bad news.

At the office, Pasqual finds FJ working with the IT guy on Adriana’s computer. FJ wants to find any deleted files that might help him. Big Ed definitely looks concerned as FJ does call Alejandra to sit down and talk about what happened the night before. (Hmmm, not sure you want those details FJ).

A sad looking Noelia stares at a family photo as she remembers what Adriana told her the night she was kidnapped. Her Mamita had no intention of returning home. She wants to live her life. Noelia says out loud, neither you nor my Papito love me.

Episode #29 part 3 of 3

Cami arrives at Cesar’s house and is swarmed by the prensa. She tells them the only thing that matters is the 9-year-old girl inside who needs an explanation of what is going on. Cesar lets her inside and is thrilled to see her. He expresses his love and she is happy to hear that he wants a life with her. She is concerned that Noelia has already learned of the photo and is not at all happy. Noelia comes into the room and angrily demands to know the truth from Cami. Does she love her Papito? Are they novios? Are they getting married?
Cami handles the outburst well and tries to explain things to Noelia. She promises that she is not there to replace her mother and yes she does love Cesar. She only wants to get to know Noelia but they will not do anything if she is not in favor of it. Noelia makes if very clear, she is not in favor of any of their relationship. She storms out of the room.

Back at the Zoo, Elvis is in the building. In a disgusting but rather funny move, he puts his chewing gum underneath the mini bar table and steals a fancy bottle of wine or liquor, placing it in his pocket as he awaits Renata. She comes in and comments on how expensive all that liquor is but does not offer him a drink. She wants him to speed up the process to incriminate Cesar. He tells her that he has done enough to make the offshore account look like it belongs to Cesar.

Yvonne and her Tia are walking in the street as Yvonne laments that she should be the one kissing Cesar, not Cami. All she has done is help Cesar. The Tia recommends she take another route to help herself as a black car drives up with FJ at the wheel. He wants her to get in the car so they can talk. He tries to encourage Yvonne to get more information out of Noelia about where she and Adriania were held hostage. Yvonne plays coy for a few minutes, but the offer of money makes her say yes to helping him.

Ray is working on a strategy with Tomas. Tomas cannot believe that Cami is in love with Cesar. They have to get Cami to testify on Tomas’s behalf. Ines arrives and shares what she knows, but it is all secondhand from Cami. Ray still wants her to testify if Cami refuses. Looks like Renata has convinced Ray of Cesar’s guilt. Ines does remember the day of Estela’s funeral when she and Cami went to her apartment and found a box of photos with Mariana, Estela and Ines all predominantly featured. Cami commented at that time that it looked like Estela was conducting an investigation on Mariana with all those photos.

Tomas opines that perhaps his mother is right, it is DAMA who is behind the murders after all. Ines shares that Adriana recently called her asking for the million dollars. She also tells Tomas that maybe he should speak to Adriana about the frozen embryos. Tomas has decided not to move forward with having a child, especially one with the DAMA DNA.

Cami makes one last attempt to talk to Noelia. She tells her of the recent deception from her own father that made her furious with him and she is an adult. Cami explains that she had to realize that her parents problems had nothing to do with her. Noelia warms up a bit and seems to feel better especially after Cami promises not to have any relationship with Cesar until Noelia approves.

Back at the Zoo, the boda preparations are in full swing but Ale does not look happy at all. Renata gives her an interesting pep talk starting with how similar they are. Who cares about romance and wedding dresses, do what is right for your career. Strong woman like the two of them have to play hardball like the men in their midst. Marry into a good family, play the part and focus on your career, the election and one day being the president of the country.

The episode ends with Cami telling Cesar that she is going to testify on behalf of her brother.

thanks so much for the recap VVS! you are so good at prying out the little details that add so much color to the story, I know the effort that it takes and greatly appreciate it, and it's always a pleasure to hear your take on things.

when Noelia wants the scoop on Cara, Cesar diverts her, and Rocio just sits there like a dummy and doesn't spill, frustrating, Noelia is the master detective here and Cesar is not helping.

I believe in the english caps Renata refers to FJ as having an Oedipus complex as to his relationship with Ale, you are just like me. (I'm sure flattery will work just fine with Ale)

interesting that Renata is using Ray to uncover the tax haven connection to Cesar that GumChew put there, now it seems that what Ray lacks is motive as to why Cesar would kill Estela which he seemed to get from Ines, and as usual I'm astounded as to Ines being in the thick of things while being so clueless.

some names I picked up, Paola is Ale's campaign girl and Chris is FJ's IT tech looking into Adriana's laptop that Cesar gave to him.

I guess Yvonne doesn't have a car. (is she still in high school, ha!)

so the wedding is the next day, will FJ remember?

Thank you so much Susanlynn and deb for your comments. Susanlynn, I always marvel how you can even watch a TN or dizi without knowing any Spanish. I am no expert in the language but can order a beer or in my case a tequila without embarrassing myself too much and still have to use every caption possible. Having said that, I still missed the “Oedipus complex” parallel Renata made with Ale. Thank you for pointing that out deb.

I am also astounded that Ines continues to play such a big role in all of this. I am not sure if I want FJ to make it to the wedding. Ale is going to make his life miserable. Does she plan on marrying him and keeping Chuy as a sidepiece? Renata seems above all of that but Ale definitely has some pole dancing tendencies! Yvonne acts like she is grade school.

Well our Lion King seems a bit lacking in grey matter. Having the exact same stomach pains that Renata had before and he doesn't catch on he could be being poisoned?

Thanks for mentioning Ale showing up in the same dress. That one went right by me. I saw the passionate kiss, but didn't catch on they'd probably done the deed. Loved the idea of our ice princess in the gardening shed.

Sometimes I could do without the adoration of children in telenovelas. Noelia is cute as can be, but she seems to think she has the right to issue edicts over her father's life.

So they've used the device of Cami promising Noelia she'd not be César's "novia" to keep the two of them out of bed. This works perfectly for the TN trope of good girls never bedding down with a married man, unless she's drugged and raped!

LOVED "Elvis is in the building". If there is a sleazeball acting award in telenovelas, he's a shoe-in. Laughed out loud at his stealing a bottle of something. Looked like a split of wine. Maybe he didn't want to risk a whole liquor bottle that might stick out of his jacket pocket.

I was very disappointed in Chuy. He'd seemed like such a good guy. I suspect he's trying to earn some big bucks to "earn" Ale. He should just run the other way.

Speaking of Ale, why doesn't Cami move the heck out of her house. Why is she patient with those accusations of her ruining the non-campaigner's campaign?

I was not sure what the bottle Elvis pocketed was novelera but you are correct, it was a half split of wine or maybe an expensive bottle of port or Moscato.

Chuy was a bit disappointing in his sell out to Renata for money. I am trying to be sympathetic to Noelia but her bratty, Adriana taught, naughty behavior is annoying. You are so right novelera, Cami needs to move out of Ale’s “campaign” HQ soon!

Thanks VERY much, VVS, for another superlative recap. Wow, it's hard to believe that not so long ago you expressed doubts about being able to write a recap! Yours are among the very best!

I loved your snarky remarks re Ale, esp. "try campaigning" and "Ale definitely has some pole dancing tendencies!"

Ale keeps threatening to cancel the wedding. I keep wishing she'd do so. Everyone would be the better for it, even Ale.

I keep thinking that the threat of Camila testifying in court could actually work in César's favor. True, Estela did apparently tell Camila that "Mariana's husband" shot her, but it's also the case that César did tell Camila that he went to see Estela in the hospital. It's unlikely that he'd have admitted this if he'd been the one who killed her.

Has anyone proposed GumChew as Cara Sucia? The "sucia" certainly fits, as does his lack of moral scruples.

As you noted, VVS, Pascual seemed quite nervous when FJ's IT guy started delving into the contents of Adriana's computer. I would imagine Pascual has good reason to be nervous. There are likely to be all kinds of incriminating emails and other documents. I wonder whether Pascual will find a way to get rid of them before they come to light. Erase the hard drive? Dump the computer into a friendly pond or lake?

Like novelera, I found myself a bit annoyed that César and Camila are letting Noelia run the show. Yes, she has just lost her mother, and she deserves some extra sympathy because of what she's been through. But I found myself uncomfortable when C and C agreed not to do anything unless/until Noelia gave her OK. (BTW, I was under the impression that Camila and César have already done the deed several episodes ago, and that therefore the "TN trope of good girls never bedding down with a married man, unless she's drugged and raped" doesn't apply here. Am I mistaken?

Juanita, my trope still works. When Camila and César had sex, she was still thinking that what he'd told her in the car that time about his wife being deceased was true. He was determined to tell her the truth, but he never got a chance to do so. I can't remember exactly what happened, but I think Renata did something to impede his 'fessing up.

Merhaba! Briefly back from diziland. Thanks, deb, for providing the info.

Yargı/Judgment is a very popular dizi currently nearing the end of its second season in Turkey. It’s at ep 61. It was supposed to make an end, but a third season was recently announced. I’m thinking they should quit on a high note, but the Turks are making money on this.

I was excited to see the promo. (Yay, VVS, a non-Akın dizi!) I planned to watch this when it started in Turkey. Unfortunately, I had to give up because I couldn’t fit it into my already packed schedule. I only saw 4 eps. I plan to watch it now. I would consider recapping, too. My viewing time will free up when my current dizis go on summer break.

Some of you might know Kaan Urgancıoğlu from Amor Eterno/Kara Sevda, where he was the evil Emir. Not sure if anyone here is familiar with Pinar Deniz. I’ve seen her in some dizis and movies and I like her. She and Kaan were also in the main cast of a Netflix dizi, Aşk 101/Love 101.

Give it a try. You might like it.

Howdy from the Alamo City folks. Here's a super short mini-recap of tonight's episode!

*Isturiz & Berenice were making out at Fun & Fitness Club, where some creepy stalkerish dude took pictures of them with his cell phone.

*Unfortunately, the creepy dude got into a fight with Isturiz in the upper stairs & presumably falls to his death. Berenice & Isturiz argue over annoying nonsense.

*Castillo gets triggered by Crazy Tracy & DEA Lackey being brought back into the DEA's operation of taking down the Casillas family.

*SuperJavi & Co involved in another shootout either in Colombia or Venezuela.

*Aurelio & Mecha in another rough patch: Fast Forward! Mecha needs to tell the EXPLETIVE truth to Aurelio that she's preggers. She's becoming annoying!

*Laura meets with Creepy Aguirre. What could possibly go wrong ? You know this will NOT end well as I've got a gut feeling she'll be having sex with Aguirre soon.

Juego de Mentiras - Capítulo 30 - Martes, 18 de Abril, 2023 - Parte 1/4

César tells Camila that he'll go to jail if she testifies against him. Camila says that she won't testify against him, she'll only tell the truth. She adds that they'll prove he's innocent and that he doesn't have to worry. (I'm not so sure about that, Cami). She says that after this they will finally be together.

Pasqual calls Adriana, but she doesn't pick it up. He leaves her a voice message he wants to see her. After he ends the message, his stomach starts hurting him again. Renata walks in and acts suspiciously sweet. She also says that he'll be better in a few days, just like her. She kisses him and leaves. For a minute, I thought Pasqual was on to something, but then he said to himself "what is happening to me?", I think, so nope. Idiot.

Alejandra is still preparing the marriage. FJ tells her that she must want to talk with him since she's here. She says that she's here because she lost many years of her life. (What a great reason to get married.) FJ asks her how she met Adriana. We actually see this. Tomás introduced Adriana as Mariana. She (Adriana) started sucking up to her (Ale), saying things like "this country needs more women like you". Back to the present, Ale tells FJ that she met her without knowing she was FJ's lover and they only talked a few times, end of subject. She kisses him and hugs him. Renata watches the kiss and hug as she walks by. She seems pleased. She and Ale look at each other.

Yvonne asks Noelia about the place she was being held, she says she doesn't know were it was, but it was horrible, she remembers asking herself how could her mamá live there, I think? She also mentions a pizzeria called Luna. Yvonne tries to get more info, but Noelia says she's only asking her so she can be on television. Yvonne says that FJ wants to help find her mom and that's why she's asking.

Renata is at the place Camila works and tells her that somebody claiming to be Adriana send Inés an email of a bank account to transfer 1 million dollars and lies that the bank account is César's. Camila doesn't believe her at first, but from her face you can tell that she's having second thoughts about César.
 

Juego de Mentiras - Capítulo 30 - Martes, 18 de Abril, 2023 - Parte 2/4

Ale tells Chuy that she made a decision; she'll marry FJ. She says her political career is the only thing she has left. She kisses him, but I don't know if it was on the lips or cheek, because the video lagged, ugh.

Pasqual tells Eva they have to talk. Every day Renata is getting better and is healthier than ever, while he's getting worse and worse. He asks her if she's sure she's giving her the correct dosis, I think, she says that yes and she's giving it every day. He then asks her if someone is messing with the coffee she's giving him and to watch out, because it'll be her fault if this continues. After he leaves, Eva says "I'm sorry. But you betrayed me first".

Yvonne actually gave FJ the info. He tells Pasqual, who just entered, that Noelia said there was a pizzeria called Luna in the area she was abducted. He found one in "this" zone (they don't tell us which, he's showing it to Pasqual on his laptop). Pasqual says that it's a very big area. Just then the woman who abducted Adriana calls. FJ puts her on speaker and asks her how is Adriana. She says she's getting tortured and that he should give her the money, or else he'll find Adriana in a grave.

César tells his mom, Elvira, that he can't stop thinking about Adriana. She may be suffering and he's not doing anything! How can he explain this to Noelia? Elvira says Adriana has ruined their lives enough already and that he can do nothing anyway. César starts talking about prison and Elvira asks him "why are you saying things like that?" He tells her that Tomás's lawyer wants to blame him so Tomás gets away. Elvira says that he hasn't done anything, Adriana is still alive etc. César, just like me, seems to think that he doesn't have to do something to frame him and throw him in prison.

FJ tries to find the 3 million dollars the kidnapper (Ullyria or whatever her name was) has asked for. He asks the bank to make an exception for him. He hangs up and tells Pasqual that they need at least 1 week to give him the money, I think he said they'll have an investigation first because it's a lot of money. Pasqual says that he has saved some money in the bank, it's not a lot but he can take it. FJ tells him that despite what Tomás said, to him he's been the best dad. Just then, the IT guy comes in and says: "I found the folders that had been deleted and there is one called Alejandra" (Encontré las carpetas que se habían borrado, y hay una que llama 'Alejandra'). FJ is shocked.

Alejandra, meanwhile, is driving and screaming at Paola. Paola says that only a miracle can save the campaign.
 

Juego de Mentiras - Capítulo 30 - Martes, 18 de Abril, 2023 - Parte 3/4

Inés tells Cami that there's someone who wants to see her. It's Verónica Baeza. She tells Cami, using the informal "tú" form, that she invites her to her program to talk about César Ferrer, his wife and Cami's relationship with him. Cami, using the formal "usted" form, declines the invitation.

Vero informs her that there's a group of feminists on social media against César and call Adriana's murder a femicide. Cami tells her that she and the feminists miss some information. Vero asks her "aren't you scared to be with a murderer?" Cami replies that César is NOT a murderer, Adriana isn't even dead and she kept contact with Noelia. She adds that she's more scared of women like her, who ruin lives of young children who can't defend themselves, like Noelia. Vero, instead of understanding that she should just shut up, she gives her a card and says that she can come to her program to clean her boyfriend's name. Cami says that she already said no. Vero tells her that if she changes her mind she'll be welcome and leaves.

The IT guy shows FJ and Pasqual photos of Adriana and Alejandra. They also find an anonymous email to Adriana saying "Damn bitch. Leave my boyfriend in peace or I'm going to kill you." (Maldita perra. Deja en paz a mi novio, o te voy a matar). I love that the Subject of the email is "You're a bitch!" (¡Eres una perra!) We now know that she definitely lied when she said that she didn't know Adriana was FJ's lover.

Adriana is tied up to a bed. She looks somewhere and says "Cara Sucia".

Pasqual says that Adriana had all of them watched. FJ says that he expected it from Adriana, he got surprised by Ale. FJ asks Pasqual if he thinks Ale wrote the email (who else can it possibly be, FJ?) He adds that maybe César was right and Ale is the one who has Adriana locked up. Pasqual looks sceptical.

Adriana starts screaming to Cara Sucia to respond, she wants to help. Somebody walks in and Adriana says "finally"! Surprise! It's not Cara Sucia. Adriana looks at the woman who entered and says "you?" It's Ale. Ale tells her that she didn't learn the lesson that real/honest women don't steal another's woman's husband. Adriana is shocked.

Adriana and Alejandra have a long conversation. Adriana still can't believe it's Ale. She says she didn't really expect her to be a murderer and Ale says that just because she's a senator, that doesn't mean that she's unlike her. She adds that she hates Adriana because she was FJ's lover and her campaign was ruined "because of her". Adriana tells her that she'll report her for kidnapping and what's her plan anyway? Ale says that nobody will believe her if she reports her. Her plan is to force Adriana to help her win the elections. Ale is crazier that I thought.

FJ and Pasqual have a fight. Pasqual says that he should just forget this and get married to Ale. What Adriana did is worse. FJ says that he can't be with a woman who has lied to him and says he'll go find her so that she explains this email. Pasqual tells him to not go and to think about it. He doesn't go, at least not yet.

Adriana tells Ale that she doesn't understand many things. Why would she send a message asking for 5 million dollars? She doesn't need that much, especially now that she'll marry FJ. Also, was she the one sending all these emails that were supposedly from her? Ale tells her not to ask questions. She also questions many things, like, for example, why would FJ cheat on a woman like her with a woman like Adriana. She repeats that she'll use her to win the elections. Adriana tells her that she can't keep her alive either. Ale leaves.

Camila goes to see Ray. She asks him what proof they have that the bank account where the money was sent belongs to César. Ray tells her that she shouldn't play with fire and that what he'll tell her is confidential and can play a part in Tomás's trial. He tells her that the police found the account and it most likely belongs to César. Cami asks if it's possible that the evidence was planted. Ray tells her that she should expect the worst. "What do you mean the worst?" she asks and he tells her that if the account belongs to César, he'll go to jail for many years.

On the news, the reporters are talking about Alejandra and how Tomás's case and Cami having a relationship with César messed up the campaign. Like that loca needs reminding. FJ is on the phone with said loca and he says that they'll get married and forget about Adriana. He's with Pasqual, who feels bad again. The wedding is tomorrow. Ale hangs up. Chuy shows up at her house with a wine bottle. She tells him that FJ can show up any minute now, but he just doesn't care. They kiss. No, Chuy, NO!

Ray is getting Tomás ready for court. By the way, is Ray George from Santa Diabla?

Camila tells César that he has to leave. There's a big chance he'll go to prison.

Ale and Chuy unfortunately did you-know-what. My audio was very bad here, but I think they talked about FJ, Chuy said that he'll still cheat on her and Ale says that it was Adriana's fault (doesn't mention her name, she just says "that woman"). They kiss. Ugh, the only good thing from this scene was that Chuy was shirtless.

Pasqual and Renata have another one of those fights. Pasqual says that they have to help FJ, he still misses a million to pay to Adriana's kidnapper and he (FJ) won't be able to live with the guilt if something happens to her. Renata asks him if he's in love with Adriana, the woman who was his oldest son's lover, his youngest son's egg donor and the wife of his daughter's novio. He screams that he'd rather not have met Adriana at all. She's harmful and he says that he knows this because he has went out with many women (the only translation of "he andado" that made sense). Renata slaps him I think, my video lagged again. She turns her back and cries and Pasqual's stomach is still hurting him.

Cami tells César about the bank account. Camila says that Ray is a serious lawyer. He swears that he doesn't have any other bank account. He says he'll clean his name for Noelia and most importantly for her. They kiss passionately. Well, Cami certainly didn't keep that promise she gave to Noelia.

And with that kiss, we have the Fin del Capítulo.

Wow...I have tightened my beanie and suspended my disbelief . Wait. What? I am very confused .

One thing I am clear on is that Pasqual is definitely the sharpest tool in the box .He has stomach pains just like Renata had , but he doesnt do the math to figure out that HE is the one being poisoned now. Perhaps he is so vain that he thinks both Eva and Renata are so enamored with him that they couldn't possibly want to harm him.

What was that whole scene with Ale confronting DAMA about ? Is Ale Dirty Face ? I don't get what is happening . Is Ale the kidnapping asking for ransom money ?

I don't think Ale is Cara Sucia. Adriana got surprised when she saw her, but she was expecting Cara Sucia. Ale is the kidnapper. Now she has some crazy idea to use Adriana to win the elections. She's getting crazier and crazier.

Thank you for including some of the Spanish. I especially appreciated your pointing out that Veronica [hiss here] addressed Cami using tú while Cami responded using the more formal usted. I missed that.

I too found Pascual's response to not feeling well very strange. How could it not occur to him that the tables have been turned and now he is the one being poisoned? He doesn't seem to be a dummy about other things (except, perhaps, for marrying Renata).

I'm a bit confused about how much money is being asked for releasing Adriana. Originally, it seemed to be 5 million, but last night FJ spoke about trying to get 3 million, as if that would be enough.

Right after FJ gratefully and sincerely tells Pascual he's the best father, the IT guy enters. I really expected that the IT guy would report that he's found all kinds of documents linking Pascual with Adriana, but no. (At least, not yet.)

I was surprised that we've found out so soon that Alejandra is not just obsessed, self-centered, and shallow, but is actually a real baddie. I was also surprised that Adriana recognized and made it clear that Alejandra couldn't release her and let her live. Where does the novela go from here?

I was puzzled by Camila's telling César that they were going to arrest him and he had to leave now. I think she said "Noelia can't lose her father." So does Cami envision César taking Noelia with him as he tries to disappear??

Questions, questions, questions. And no episode tonight to clarify or muddy things further.

The actress playing DAMA is really chewing up the scenery and playing this crazy character over the top. I got a big kick out of those faces and gestures she was making at Ale. I thought she was going to throw that picture of water she picked up. I think they bleeped something she yelled at Ale.

Thanks so much Weirdo for this detailed and fantastic recap! I don’t think you missed a thing even with the video lagging. I was not expecting Alejandra to be the kidnapper. Did you notice the one-way mirror in play again at the house Adriana is being held at? Sounds like Ale has been the one watching all this time and Cara Sucia is still an enigma out there somewhere.

I was thinking back to how viciously Adriana attacked that restaurant server with a fork at the beginning of the TN and wondered if Ale is really up to dealing with the scrappy chick. Who is helping Ale other than the assassin lady? How Ale thinks Adriana is going to help her win the election is beyond me.

The original ransom amount was 5 million. It sounded like FJ was able to raise 4 million and the Lion King was asking for 1 million from Renata.

Darn soccer interrupts our plot reveals tonight. Thanks again Weirdo, this was an amazing recap!

Weirdo, thank you so much for such a terrific recap, with all the details. ITA with "Ale is crazier than I thought". The actor really brought it last night. Definitely crazy eyes. I do not think she ever loved FJ. What set her off was his having the nerve to want someone else and her poll numbers going down.

Adriana, you were fantastic in that scene with U.S. Senator/Crazed Kidnapper. She told Ale that every time FJ beds her going forward, he'll be imagining DAMA's face. And he'll be thinking of her smell at those times also. Telenovelas and dizis often mention the longing for a lover's smell. Probably pheromones or some such thing, but humans do "imprint" on the scent of a loved one.

Adriana's defiance was amazing. She needs to break that water pitcher, after drinking it, and use the broken glass to cut the rope binding her hands.

Ale's plan is crazy, but I think her insane idea might be to compel Adriana to say Ale rescued her and thus resuscitate her campaign.

Pascual scored a real blow when he pointedly told Renata that, yes, he has experience with mujeres dañinas (women who cause pain or harmful women). She slapped him, IIRC, but her face was a mask of pain realizing he was referring to her.

VVS I was slow to catch on but yes, the scenes of Adriana were filmed looking through the 2-way mirror from where Ale was watching her, so cool.

(and of course kidnapped victims only get the mattress on the floor, never the whole bed).

3 million came into play as all that FJ had in his accounts to put toward the 5 million.

I suppose driving around the Luna pizza neighborhood with Noelia to find Adriana would be too simple, but then Noelia said her mom would have left for the beach.

I don't suppose we could rip Adriana's laptop away from FJ and look at ALL of the files.

I think the english caps gave Pascual's response to Renata's, do you love her, was "I'll regret meeting that woman until the day I die, she fooled me and she fooled my son.

interesting that Ale wasn't answering Adriana's questions, I'm curious about the emails, she had to have written the ones to Noelia setting up her kidnapping.

and I'm thinking when the dust settles Adriana and Alejandra won't both be standing, most likely Adriana's death will be pinned on Cesar. (not that Ale is smart enough to pull it off)

and then there is the Cara Sucia.

Susanlynn and Novelera, I too loved the actress playing DAMA in the scenes with Ale. And yes, Susanlynn, they did bleep something out. I keep wondering why they write swears in the script if they'll bleep them out anyway.

Thank you Weirdo for the fantastic recap! Yesterday just rushed by me in a blurr and I didn’t get to read until now!

I was both surprised and disappointed that Ale was revealed as the kidnapper so soon! I wanted the mystery to drag out a little longer! But I think we still have plenty of places to go from here. For example, how did Ale know Adriana was alive to kidnap? Adriana was shocked to see Ale which means she wasn’t involved in her faked death so how did she know it was faked? And how did she know how to find the fake dead Adriana to get to her? Yes, use Noelia, but how do you know you can use her if you think DAMA is dead? And why assume the trap would work if DAMA already abandoned her? Why would she come back for her? And how did she know where to find her when she did go back? Who are the ‘bosses’ Adriana was in trouble with and who is Cara Sucia? The questions go on and on and on…

I think you’re right Susanlynn, it is Pascual’s vanity that keeps him from realizing that he is being poisoned now! What a tool, I don’t think he’ll die though both he and Renata have the feel of the characters who will be around until the very end to go down with the ship. His anvil won’t arrive until right before El Fin.

Wow, Ale must really hate FJ and the Del Rio’s considering she was building a campaign around the possibility of Thomas being the murderer and she knew all along he wasn’t!!! That is one vindictive crazy lady!

I can't imagine what it would be like to be in a cold, angry marriage like Renata and Pasqual have. Being married to your best friend is wonderful , but being married to your worst enemy would be hell on earth.

I get a kick out of the scenes where Renata and Pasqual are seated side by side like a king and Queen on their thrones in the living room with their kids having cocktails .

I have had the impression all along that Cara Sucia is someone Adriana met in the orphanage. Rocio knows something about him or her. She said that the person was a "bad influence" on Adriana. And I seem to remember her using a masculine pronoun, but don't go to the bank with that one! Of course, Rocio wiggled out of saying any more or the writers inserted one of those famous interruptions telenovela writers love to use to keep Viewerville frustrated.
