"Stolen kisses require an accomplice"
Part 1/4
Dona Clara is in surgery, the fall she suffered was pretty bad. The family is very worried.
Itzel gets a message about Clara, too, so Leona goes to the hospital to see David and offer her support. She tells him she plans to do something about the information she just got and when David is worried about her safety, suggests they enlist Flor’s help, but Leona says she has to take some risks, wants to do it all alone (ughh!).
As soon as she leaves, Camila shows up to offer her support, too.
Ramses, Columba and Calixto (not wearing masks!) come to check out the girls they took to do a quality control, I guess. I will spare you the details, I could barely watch it myself, Ramses actually says they will have a great life on another continent, bringing “joy” to so many clients.
And we’re back to Leona, all alone (WTF), I guess she was tracking Columba’s phone and she is now in the woods, sending David an “I love you” message and letting him know what she’s up to. David sends her a message, too, asking her to stay safe, she is so close to meeting her kids.
Ramses gives the transfer order and the girls are pushed outside by masked men. It’s awful to watch, the girls are screaming and trying to get away. One of the girls actually runs farther away and Ramses threatens her directly, while Leona is filming the whole thing, realizing this is enough proof to send Ramses and his entire gang to jail.
Columba tells Ramses the police is searching for the girls, Calixto adds the bus exploded and the plan is to call the families and ask for ransom, get some extra money from their deal.
Gael chooses this very bad moment to call Leona. She manages to reject the call, but it’s too late because Ramses hears the buzz.
She starts to literally run for her life through the woods, with some gunman following her. But she is smarter, she hits the guy with something, making him fall to the ground and then runs farther away. But she lost her phone, wants to go back for it, but the guy screams and threatens her, so she has to keep running.
When David tries to call, too, Leona’s phone doesn’t have service. He tells Camila she can go home, but she’s rather stick around until they have some news. David is not only worried for Clara, but he can’t talk about it. The doctor arrives telling the family their mom had an emboli, it’s too soon to tell what will happen to her.
Ramses and Columba are leaving, when the guy calls them to say he couldn’t catch the guy who was following them.
"Stolen kisses require an accomplice"
Part 2/4
Gael tells her mother Leona reminds him of Marena, and no, she’s not dead, she lives through AnaJu. And Leona has the same eyes, and the same sparkle. Josefa thinks this is his nostalgia talking. But Gael keeps waiting for her, still dreams about Marena and what he wouldn’t give to see her again.
Joseja thinks he is turning Marena into a symbol and using Leona as a replacement.
Leona is still alone in the woods, upset because she lost her phone, when a car approaches. She explains a guy was following her and she lost her phone. She gets into the car.
David is with his mom, trying to cheer her up. He promises to help her get better and feels so bad he wasn’t there with her when she fell. Clara actually remembers who pushed her and tries to scream, David tries to calm her. She can’t speak.
Lola finally arrives at the hospital, apologizes to Josefa for not hearing her message earlier, she was with Kika. Josefa scolds her, but this is not the moment, they need to take care of the abuela, this is a good moment to get closer to her. Having a grandma is a blessing, Lola should be grateful.
Jeremias arrives to the hotel room to find a lot of boxes of clothes and a note from Lola, saying he has to keep her new stuff hidden from mom. And she is going to the hospital because abuela is not feeling well.
David is still trying to reach Leona, promises Josefa he will take care of their mom’s recuperation himself. They can’t understand why this happened to her, how much pain is their family supposed to take?
Leona is home, crying with Consuelo and Cristobal, furious over what she saw. She couldn’t help those poor girls and she lost the proof she had against Ramses. Cristobal suggests an anonymous complaint to the cops, but Leona already tried this in the past and got all her family killed, she can’t risk it again.
Theo asks if her phone could be still on, he could try to retrieve the video she filmed, but Leona had to shut it down when Gael called.
"Stolen kisses require an accomplice"
Part 3/4
Kika is at home, listening to music, when Gael comes to ask if she apologized to AnaJu. She lies about being best friends again, but AnaJu is too worried about the cheerleaders’ bus disappearing to protest. Gael looks shocked, I think he has his suspicions, too. AnaJu wants to go to the march they are doing the next day for the girls and Gael wants to accompany her. Kika isn’t interested, but AnaJu insists they have to do something, create some noise, and pressure the authorities to take action.
Flor is doing a briefing with her team about the missing girls when she gets into another fight with her nasty colleague. The guy is a waste of air.
Benja and Itzel are with Lili, trying to cheer her up. This has to be their date.
Ramses pretends to be worried about the cheerleaders, too, in front of AnaJu and Josefa. AnaJu, tears in here eyes, asks him to help with the search, he has a lot of power. Ramses actually looks moved.
Leona manages to call David, she is now feeling better after Consuelo and her family spoke to her. There is a knock at the door and she thinks it’s them, they probably forgot something. So she actually answers the door without asking who it is. And I forgot to say she is changed into a baby doll type pj, which looks very cute, but not really appropriate to answer doors in the middle of the night.
And sure enough, her night caller is Gael! Leona is lost for words, so David, who is still on the phone with her asks what’s up and she has to very casually say that her boss just arrived and she has to call him back. And hangs up. LOL
She apologizes to licenciado Gael for receiving him like this, he explains he dropped by because he was very worried for her, felt like she wasn’t OK (Good, guess!). He’s very sorry to show up like this, but he was indeed very concerned.
Leona does her best to keep him at arm’s length, doesn’t think he should worry like this for an employee, but he says she’s much more than that. Ever since she came into his life, she’s become someone very special to him, someone he needs so much. She’s changed his life completely, he finally has a reason to live again.
Leona, deer in the headlights look, offers to give him some water, but Gael didn’t come here for this (for sure!), that’s not what he needs. What then, Leona asks.
And he goes in for the kiss!
I can’t tell if he’s doing all the work or if she’s a willing participant, too, but the kiss is long enough and…. Wait, she IS a willing participant, because she has her hand on his shoulder now. But then Gael goes too far, when he starts to caress her back. This has the effect of a cold shower on Leona, who pushes him away.
She reminds him she works for him, she is not one of his lovers! He can never do this again! No more stolen kisses, OK? And she quits! But never slaps him, so I’m adding a couple of pebbles to my wishful thinking box.
Gael begs her to reconsider, he has deep feelings for her, but promises to never kiss her again.
Leona is still furious, she has a boyfriend who deserves her respect and he is MARRIED!
Gael tries to back paddle, apologizes again and again. Leona admits that she really needs this job, but she can’t go to work afraid of what he might do next, so Gael promises again to keep his distance. But please don’t quit.
Leona gives him an ultimatum: this is the last time he can make this mistake, their relationship is strictly business.
Gael agrees and also informs her that the loan has been approved. Leona thanks him and promises to pay back every peso.
As soon as he is gone, she shrieks with a helpless look on her face, furiously wiping her mouth, too. Can’t tell if she’s mad with Gael for what he dared to do or a little bit upset with herself, too, for allowing it to happen.
"Stolen kisses require an accomplice"
Part 4/4
At the hospital David is furious Gael is visiting Leona at these hours! Oh, boy, if he only knew…
Ramses calls some people he knows in the Government to help with the search party for the girls. Adding that maybe it was an accident or kidnapping. AnaJu doesn’t care, she will go march for those girls. Ramses doesn’t want her to risk anything, especially not for people she doesn’t know. But AnaJu doesn’t need to know them to feel bad and want to help.
Just then Columba arrives, like a little flower, complaining about a busy day at work. AnaJu confronts her directly, she should know something about the girls, she and the other moms got them to come help with the cheerleading routine. What has the bus company told her? Columba says she already talked to them and to the other parents, promised to help with money and with the searching. All they can do now is wait and pray to God the girls are returned safe and sound. Ramses watches all of this with a smirk on his face, he must be very impressed with his nasty lover, indeed.
Consuelo and her kids offer to help Benja with the house. They have to go back to their old apartment for now, but they will be back soon. Theo remembers how he was bullied earlier in the day, but doesn’t talk about it.
Consuelo would like Benja to help her a bit, by cutting her hair shorter, as a way to prepare herself for the chemo. Benja wants to do it for free, as a gift, even as Consuelo refuses, so Benja accepts a tip, but only a tip.
Kika and Romeo are up to no good. They are at his place (I think), about to get stoned. But Kika would rather they have “fun” without help from anything. And they start making out.
Leona has come to the hospital, to talk about her frustration with David. She had proof against Ramses and she lost it, all she can hope now is nobody finds her cell. She is also worried for Clara, David says she will be out of the hospital soon. But her recuperation will be a long one. Leona tries to encourage him.
David asks about Gael, Leona says he came because he was worried for her and also to let her know he approved her loan. David is upset she went to Gael for help, but Leona points out that he has enough worries of his own, this is a loan from the company that she will pay it back herself. Consuleo’s health comes first for her.
David insists Gael has to have other intentions with her, so Leona admits that he kissed her.
“Stolen Kisses Require an Accomplice”: truer words never spoken! I think we know where this is headed. Baby doll pj’s to answer the door? Why not? Yes, that was so funny. I am wondering who will find Leona’s phone with the evidence of the kidnapping/trafficking. Thanks, Adriana, for the entertaining recap.
Hi, Jarifa! Early morning or all nighter? :)
The first part of this episode was so awful to recap, I had all the fun I could with the second part. Can't really afford to be picky, right?
I'm mad with Leona for thinking she could take Ramses on by herslef. She has no actual training, no backup... what did she think she would accomplish? Her little exercice routines are hardly enough for her to have enough strenght againts a human trafficking ring.
And Flor is actually working on the case, she should have gone to her.
I get that she's scared because her going to the police failed miserably 16 years ago, but she could have actually done something to save those poor girls. Now the trace has gone cold and she has to go back to playing life coach extraordinaire, deny her feelings for Gael and get even more conveniently in love with David.
adriana, Wow thank you for every disturbing detail of a wild episode.
My beanie popped right off , and I think I pulled a muscle suspending my disbelief . Leona goes on a solo mission impossible to spy on the human traffickers. Then, her phone buzzes. QTH ? You have to silence your phone in the movie theater , but Leona forgets this important point in the middle of the woods . Who will find that hot potato phone ?
David gave Leona some good advice. The police are necessary, and Flor is a trusted relative.
The scenes of Ramses and his minions Columba and Calisto terrorizing those young girls was disturbing and disgusting . Awful.
The irony of Enemy so upset about the missing cheerleaders and confronting Columba and Ramses a out helping to find them . uff
Now a complete 180 ....the kiss. David, you are in major trouble because that kiss was something else. Adriana, you are going to need a lot more pebbles because that was not the kiss of a villain. I wonder how many times they had to rehearse it.
"Adriana, you are going to need a lot more pebbles because that was not the kiss of a villain."
I know, right? When the villain goes for the kiss, you don't hold onto him for dear life... at the very least you put a robe on when you open the door for him in a sexy PJ. But, hey, Gael has already seen everything there is to see, even if he doesn't realize it yet, Leona didn't even give it a second thought.
No clue how many times they rehearsed the scene, but they sure did a good job, because they were very convincing LOL
Adriana, you conveyed all the tense horror of last night in mesmerizing fashion. I felt as though I saw the entire episode in my mind’s eye again.
First, the pure evil. Almost impossible to watch, every face mirroring unspeakable horror. All of those young women played their part far, far too well. Correct me if I'm wrong but the mastermind never, ever appears in front of the victims do they? They live and breathe in the shadows; the actual dirty work being done by minions. Ramses’ feeling he needed to strut, threaten and intimidate, reminding the prisoners their lives would be a living hell from this point on was puzzling. Columba, whom all the girls knew showing up to gloat also seemed off. The entire scene was just terrible to watch.
And now to THE celebratory moment of the night for team Gael. Leona was seconds into the kiss before she realized she needed to break free. Her annoyed grimaces after he left didn't fool me! She still loves him. It wasn't her head that responded, it was her heart. The mind can rationalize but the heart reacts with the truth. Plain and simple. I’m throwing a handful of pebbles into my wistful, wishful thinking box. 😊
It was beyond foolish for Leona to attempt to rush off BY HERSELF to catch Ramses in the act. She is lucky she escaped and her luck can only hold out for so long. Jarifa, I was hoping the phone would stay missing but I fear you are right; someone will find it. David dispensed good advice about involving Flor. If only she has listened.
“I get that she's scared because her going to the police failed miserably 16 years ago, but she could have actually done something to save those poor girls. Now the trace has gone cold and she has to go back to playing life coach extraordinaire, deny her feelings for Gael and get even more conveniently in love with David”. Perfectly expressed Adriana…
Clara seems in very bad shape...I hope she will somehow be able to communicate who pushed her. Lola actually seemed worried about her grandmother. Perhaps there is a heart in there somewhere.
Gael not being involved in the kidnapping and having no knowledge of it beforehand is a bit of a relief. It doesn’t absolve him, but he’s not involved in the planning of these heinous crimes.
I’m sure David will still be pouting tomorrow night…
Diana
Thanks Adriana, that was excellent. The cheerleader scenes were very disturbing, even more so because the bad guys weren’t masked. So even if Ramses wanted to help them for the sake of AnaJu he couldn’t. And I admit that I did have hope that Ramses was moved by AnaJu’s plea and would let the cheerleaders go. I have a hard time believing the girls will be gone for good. And it’s also hard to believe that they’re all parents of girls that age but can still do that.
The kiss kind of sealed the ending for me. Leona and Gael seem destined to end up together. And I’m including Gael’s conversation with his mother.
I’m glad Clara remembers what happened to her. How long will it take her to be able to let the others know. I think it will be a while.
Let’s hope the phone is found by the right people!
Liz
Ok I think this was the point where I got completely confused. someone said the writers said they'd decided to give the audience what they want in the end and I'm wondering what exactly they think people want. If they assume everyone wants her to end up with David, that's not 'giving the audience what they want', that's just following the script. I wonder what Leona could have done to save them. If she had told Flor about the girls and where they were, would the police have managed to save them?
Gael did what every man does and what irritates me about telenovela galanes: told her to reconsider when he has no plan and can't set himself free. Had she loved him, he can't think she'd be fine with being his lover. It somehow never stops to amaze me how even after marrying someone else, every telenovela galan I've seen still goes after a woman they're in love with. I have a feeling women would bejudged way more if they did this because men can get away with so much. I've just seen episode 54 of this telenovela and could slap the writers for pushing this idea that men have no self-control and should be forgiven.
Thanks Adriana for the great recap! I have little time to write something, so I'll try to make this short.
Lots of beanie tightening in this episode. As others have noted, Leona going to the woods alone was very, very stupid. And who doesn't silence their phone before doing something like this? And why on EARTH would Columba, Ramsés and Calixto not send someone else to the cheerleaders? And if they wanted to go see them themselves, WHY NOT WEAR A MASK? This is very, very unbelievable. I almost thought I would stop breathing by all that beanie tightening in this episode.
I hope Gael or AnaJu finds that phone. I mean, Gael already knows about Ramsés's "business", but to be completely fair he couldn't have done anything back then. Now he can though.
Jeremías is making us hate him more and more each episode.
I think Gael is supposed to be the galán.
Waterlily, "I could slap the writers for pushing this idea that men have no self-control and should be forgiven." I wanted to say this too! I've seen this in WAY too many telenovelas. I honestly want Leona to go somewhere alone with her kids. Neither Gael nor David deserve her.
I watched this episode again, and I don't think Clara saw who pushed her. She was sweeping the stairs when Jer wearing one of those stocking cap\masks came up behind her and pushed her . Then he removed the mask from his face as he stood next to her , but she had her eyes closed. I don't see how she could have seen him. Nobody appeared to help Clara until Flor showed up , so I don't think anyone saw Jer there.
Diana, your "I’m sure David will still be pouting tomorrow night…" made me LOL - this definitely looks like his defacto face and things can only get worse for him from now on (one can only hope).
Liz, I sure hope you're right about Gael being endgame for Leona, but he still has to prove himself to her before she can even consider giving him a true chance.
Waterlily, if Leona would have told Flor and Flor would have bought some cops with her they could have caught the whole crew and then we would have no novela I guess... But this just proves that Leona is not exactly ready for the fight she embarked on. She's a little girl playing with the big bad wolf for now.
As for the writers giving the fans what they want (I was the one who wrote that), all I know is that there are two very vocal fanbases that want Leona to end up with either David or Gael (one more vocal than the other). They are filming the last scenes these days so a decisions must have been made, but I'm trying very hard to stay away from spoilers, because I enjoy the torture of watching and hoping with the rest of you. The "will they, won't they" is what made me watch in the first place.

Part 1 of 5
Elsa and Horacio walked out into the street and he was hit. The car just kept going. Hector came out and called for an ambulance. [This did look deliberate and was badly staged.]
Gerardo phoned a colleague to help him find a place to sleep.
Horacio was taken into hospital. Hector and Elsa were told that he had no head injury, but both lower leg bones were fractured. He needed a signature to authorize the surgery. Elsa went to the office to do this. Hector called Carlos and Meche to tell them. The left the dinner table and headed out.
Lamberto and Silvia went out for a lovely evening, dining outdoors. There were lights, a table set with china and crystal, He talked about how it had been a long time since and he was grateful they could finally be together. He told her he loved her and she was the only woman he ever loved and she disqualified all other women. He took out a small box, knelt down, and proposed! [Good song and nice ring!]
The operation was successful and Horacio was in recovery. Carlos and Meche talked about Elsa and Horacio, then Carlos took out his phone to show Meche the photo of Leonor. He told her about his issues with Aurora.
Wine in proper glasses, cheese, fruit.. Lamberto knows how it's done. He also said to Silvia it was time for him to give her her proper place. [I can't wait to see the steam coming out of Angela's ears.]
Elsa went into Horacio's room. He was a little upset at the temporary loss of mobility but knew he would get over it. She felt responsible, He said he would have died if anything had happened to her. He asked if she felt the same and she said not to joke about such things. That they have much to live for. Together. She kissed him and said “I don't know what I would do if anything happened to you,”
Hector, Meche, and Carlos went home. Hector was still upset at the image of Horacio lying in the street, saying he didn't know what he would do if anything happened to any of them. He was very afraid. He hugged both Meche and Carlos.
Demencia went into Andres' room and started talking about how well he got on with Nora. Actually she was there with information and a deal to try to force a decision. When she left his room he was nervous.

Part 2 of 5
Elena entered Gerardo's office and made another attempt by bringing him coffee and pan dulce. She started kissing him and he gently pushed her away, asking what game she was playing. When she answered she was doing something nice he told her to stop behaving as though nothing happened. Did she not think of an explanation for what she did? She said for the nth time that life without him would not make sense for her. He asked if she really believed that three or four pills would deceive him? She was looking to blackmail him into staying with her. She said she was desperate and didn't want to lose him. He said their marriage was over. She got even more desperate, saying he could continue to be friends with Antonia and he should say something if he felt smothered. They didn't have to separate. He finally told her to leave him alone. She ignored that, kissed him as though he were going to come home to her at five, and left. He immediately called Lamberto's divorce lawyer.
Demencia said she was going to Agua Prieta to pick up some horses and left the breakfast table. Nora asked Andres hw he felt. He had been unable to sleep the night before. He asked why the burial had been so fast and why there was no death certificate. Nora said she didn't know, only that the baby died while Elsa was in hospital and that her mother and Armando were in charge of the burial. Noemi and Digna were there. Andres asked to talk with them. Nora said alright and she would pave the way for that.
Elena went to Armando and told him about Gerardo's rejection. Again with the “I will die without him” crap. He told her she needed to control herself; she was acting crazy. She said she didn't know how to prevent him leaving. He said “I know what to do, Leave it to me.” He called Angela into his office. She thanked him. He told her to go home. She left and Angela arrived. She told Armando that Gerardo was determined to leave Elena. He repeated his threat and Angela countered with his role in the crime, saying he would also fall. He had no answer for that and she walked out.
Gerardo called Antonia. He told her why he didn't stay with his mother. She told him about Elena's nasty visit. He couldn't believe this\ and wondered whether Elena had lost her mind. Antonia said quite the opposite. Elena knew what she was doing and Antonia knew why she did it. Gerardo told Antonia he only wanted to be with her and she said that Elena would never leave them alone. He told her not to fall for this; it's Elena's MO. She said she doesn't want to but she can't deny that it affects her emotionally. She didn't want to have to live like this. He said she had to be smarter than Elena. She then said she had to get back to work and ended the call.
Nora entered the kitchen and pretended to have had a bad night. When one of the aforementioned servants asked her about it said she had a nightmare about Elsa's baby dying in her arms. The woman said “Oh, my God, you poor thing.” Nora voiced surprise and wondered why she dreamt this because she hadn't been there when the baby died. She asked them if they knew what actually happened. One said that the night of the birth Elsa was taken to the dispensario in San Miguelito. Demencia and Padre Reynaldo stayed with the baby. Nora prompted for more and was told that the following morning Demencia and the padre left the ranch with the baby without disclosing their destination or at what time they would return. The other servant said they had no good knowledge of the events or when the baby died. Until Don Armando returned with Doña Estela and they were at the burial. They hadn't heard any conversations about any of this. Nora took a deep breath and thought about this as she drank some water.

Part 3 of 5
Irene – who is the majority shareholder of the business – went into Armando's office to fire him. She told him he had until the end of the month to clear out of the office. That would give him time to find another position. Someone else would take over this company. “Who? One of your lovers?” “That is my business,” she answered, leaning slightly over the desk. “You can't do this. Magnolia Textiles is what it is thanks to me.” “You are no more than a employee. You don't no how much I appreciate your years of service but all life has a cycle and yours is over. Good day.” She left him speechless.
A few moments later Elena called his cell and asked whether he did what he promised about getting Gerardo to stay with her. He told her he had but it was ineffective. “Well, you have to do something” she said. He said it was up to her now. She didn't know what to do because the pills didn't work. He told her she handled this badly. Again she replied she would die without him. He asked why she wanted to stay married to an idiot who didn't value her. He was getting quite irritated by this time. She answered that there was no one better in the world. “You yourself told me.” “Well, I was wrong. I'm sorry, daughter, but I have to go, We'll talk later.” He ended the call and left the office.
Nora told Andres what she heard from the servants. That Demencia and Padre Reynaldo were left in charge of the baby and left with her the next morning. The servants knew nothing beyond that point. They were confused. They did not know whether they were going to see a doctor. As far as she knew her mother went in to check on the baby and came out saying she wasn't breathing. None of this made any sense to Andres, that Elsa was taken to hospital but the baby not. Nora agreed with him. The nearest doctor to them was named Hernandez and the two decided to talk to him.
Irene went to the mayor's office to find out that Horacio was in hospital with a leg fracture. The next day was Hector's birthday and the staff was preparing a celebration. Irene asked what she could help with.
Armando went to Guillermina to request a favor from her cousin who worked for the federales. He wanted Irene investigated. She had left San Juan when young and was establishing herself in San Juan and had no reason to return to France where she had lived. Guillermina said she would call her cousin and asked Armando if he had any more information. He said that her husband was in shipping, they lived in Paris and had a cottage in Bordeaux. Guillermina took notes.
Dr Hernandez – who looked like an older version of Gerardo – told Nora and Andres that he had not registered the birth or death of the baby and had not been at Santa Ramona in a long time.
Bruno was excited at finding the right student to play Romeo because of his delivery of the lines. He read out a short passage and discovered – to his disappointment – that Natalia thought that Romeo and Juliet was corny and nobody would understand this manner of speech. He commented that he hadn't expected someone that young to have this sensibility. He discovered that she was not listening and was on her phone the whole time reading the news.

Part 4 of 5
Andres was frustrated at the lack of information. He knew no more than he did when he arrived and decided he no more reason to search. He wanted to put flowers on the grave to have closure. Nora agreed and they were on their way.
Silvia showed Antonia her engagement ring and told her about the proposal. They hugged. Silvia said the wedding would be small just with family and close friends. They would plan it after Andres returned. Neither had heard from him and Silvia said she prayed last night for his safety.
Andres put a bouquet of mostly white flowers on the grave. His thoughts: I passed many nights imagining you in my arms lulling you to sleep with kisses. Telling you how much I loved you. And in life I wasn't allowed to. When you were in your mother's body I could not be with you. But I want you to know that you were the fruit of our love. He took out the blue paper airplane and placed it among the flowers. Your grandmother made this for you. I love you, daughter, wherever you are. I will always carry you in my heart. He touched the cross. Nora watched him with concern.
Gerardo went to Silvia's place to talk to Antonia, who was home alone. He told her not to not to be bothered by Elena's tricks. He understood her reaction but said one never knew what Elena would do. He said she should not be influenced by her. This was only the first time. He promised he would be divorcing Elena to be with her. That was all he wanted and nobody would prevent that. They kissed [and based on what that led to we must hope that he had some condoms handy].
Guillermina got a call from Alfredo about Irene being involved in arms dealing. Her husband was in prison and there is an arrest warrant out for her. [I think her husband – whom she divorced – dragged her name into this,] Guillermina was incredulous. She said they needed to alert the authorities because she worked in the mayor's office and that was unacceptable. Alfredo said he would take care of it. She would give him the phone number of the new police chief.
Gerardo and Antonia were on the couch, fully dressed. He told her he would look for a flat in Alcocer, near the hospital. She was alright with that. He wanted her to approve because he planned to marry her. He told her he had spoken with a lawyer that day. She didn't want to ring the bells prematurely so she said they'd talk about this when he is actually divorced. She did not want to hope in vain.
Andres thanked Nora and told her he was leaving the next day. There was no more to do and he needed to go. She said she would miss him, like others who have come and gone. She hugged him.
Armando received a call from the messaging service. Demencia had sent him a message about “Gerardo's” visit, requesting that he talk to Don Lambert about buying land. That Gerardo had seen the information but said his father needed to make the decision. He looked confused at first and clarified that the name was Gerardo Montero. He said that the message was urgent and was told the earliest it could be sent was in the morning. He was satisfied then dictated a reply back to her saying he had never sent anyone there and the man there is... [the wretch that knocked up Elsa.]
Capitulo 51, Jueves 4 Mayo 2023
Discovery: Dialogue as Necessary Edition
Part 5 of 5
Leonor cried and Aurora could not get her to sleep. Angela wasn't much help except to tell Aurora that the baby sensed her tension. Aurora tried to get her to take the baby to her room, but Angela refused. She would need to get used to this. They talked about Carlos. Angela told Aurora she gives up too quickly. She had to try harder. Angela kissed the baby and left the room. The baby was quiet for a few moments, but cried when Aurora yelled at her mother that she would leave if Mama didn't help her.
Elena drove to Antonia's place and tried to get her to help her get Gerardo back. She caught Antonia as she was leaving for work. Antonia aid she couldn't and didn't want to get mixed up in their problems. Elena tried the Sisterhood Motive. Antonia looked confused.
Elsa was in hospital with Horacio. Hector arrived and it was his birthday. They wished him well and a year full of good things. He suggested that they stay at the hotel until he could walk again ecause he would have assistance. Elsa agreed and they left the hospital.
Alfredo called Natalia to tell her that Irene was an arms trafficker. He added that he had informed the authorities in France. Natalia ended the call and called for Ramos.
Armando's message arrived at the ranch during breakfast. Demencia opened it and began reading it in front of Andres.
Fin de Capitulo 51
Oy, things are heating up now and I dearly wish we would not be getting so many repeat lines about Elena not being able to live without Gerardo or Aurora telling Carlos to understand her. And he still doesn't know that she had boinked Horacio.
I would also really like to know why everyone in Demencia's area is dressed so heavily when Andres and others complain about the hot weather.
Thanks for recap
Leona is not so good as an undercover agent. I hope that she will forgive David for Benja. I feel sorry for David, because he is torn between Leona/ Marena and his family.
Urban, thank you for yet another excellent review as the angst and secrets continue.
It looks like Gerardo talked Antonia into moving the sofa again right there in the living room by the front door . They are taking a big risk of someone walking in on them....Silvia, Lamberto, crazy Elena. Odd. I am afraid Elena will try to kill Antonia. Elena has gone over the brink at this point.
Thanks so much, Urban. Seems like the two servants gave Nora a big hint. As they told her her mother and Padre Reynaldo left with the baby. When will she and Andres put two and two together! It seems like Andres is just accepting the death. It seems to me he should be getting more suspicious.
I’m not sure why Armando would want Irene investigated. It seems that she’s only come home when Elena needed her. So she’s using the airlines and if anyone wanted her they know where she is.
Andres should have left a day earlier. I don’t think Demencia will be kind to him. As soon as she talked about contacting Armando I would have been gone.
The proposal was beautiful. So glad Lamberto proposed to Sylvia. And I’m also looking forward to Angela finding out!
This keeps getting better. Can’t wait until tonight!
Liz
Urban, another spectacular summary. Smiled at and totally agreed with “Wine in proper glasses, cheese, fruit.. Lamberto knows how it's done”.
As you noted, the heat is on and things have percolated to a full boil.
I am so grateful for your dialog translations, especially Andres’ lament “I passed many nights imagining you in my arms lulling you to sleep with kisses. Telling you how much I loved you. And in life I wasn't allowed to” which was truly heartbreaking. If only the note delivered via pony express had come hours later. Now all Clemencia needs to do is get her gun.
On a happier note, “[Good song and nice ring!]” was so right! What an oversized sparkler. Lambeto and Silvia looked so happy.
“Elena tried the Sisterhood Motive” without success. Her childish fits and pleas are getting tiresome, even to Armando! Is her plan to annoy Gerardo and Antonia to distraction so that they just give up on each other? She’s got nothing. No game.
Aurora has a disgusted husband and her cheatin’ brother in law has fallen at Elsa’s feet. What’s a girl to do? She is stuck in neutral with no forward motion. While nothing has been alluded to, I still have a feeling Horacio might be Leonor’s father. Something has to jump start Aurora’s storyline.
Horacio “said he would have died if anything had happened to her”. How very touching. Not.
Initially we saw Natalia seemingly deeply in love with Bruno. Now, she is totally distracted and definitely disinterested. A quick change of mood seemingly opening the door for Meche. Are there no unattached available men??
Good luck with trying to keep that charge against Irene stick Armando.
Poor Andres’ life has been relegated to the gutter. I’m fearful it may go even lower.
Diana
Thank you Adriana for your recap.
Leona/Mar's skill set is fairly limited. She messed up with the electrocution, the presentation, and now her sole wonderwoman attempt to get the goods on Ramses - all failures. She needs to rethink her strategy.
Not sure who deserves to be her final novio, David or Gael.
I think that Ramses needs to have his lights turned off
Great job recapping the horrors of this tn. Its very addicting though lol
The more I watch the more I hope they leave the ending loose. As in Leona and her kids are together and she is yet to decide whom she wants by her side.
At this point in the story I feel that ..maybe a bit of a spoiler.. Leona doesnt deserve Gael. Gael has really won me over and I get Leona and her revenge and everything but shes very morally ambigious. In a way she'd fit right in with Gael but for me at least, Leona has crossed a few lines. Lets see how things turn out though.
I do think she will end up with David, which would be so boring and unbelievable for me but we will see.
I wish Gael would talk to Leona about his past, that way Leona could know he is sorry and he's still in love with his Marena.
Though I think both Gael and David are too mesmerized by Marena and the memory of her and they dont realize that this is Leona now. Time changes people and they have both idealized their first love a bit too much.
Susanlynn, you've got that on the money. You know Elena has gone over the edge when Armando loses patience with her. It would not surprise me if she started stalking Antonia especially if Gerardo doesn't leave a forwarding address.
Andres doesn't seem to have had a major conversation with Padre Reynaldo since getting out of prison. If he doesn't this time the writers have lost it. The padre may or may not tell him the truth because Andres is likely to go off half cocked and go after Armando for this.
Adriana, your recap is so vivid and rich with detail. On the lighter side, I loved this line: ”Leona, deer in the headlights look, offers to give him some water, but Gael didn’t come here for this (for sure!),”
I too am livid that Leona failed to at least call 911. And since, crazily, Ramses, Columba, and Calixto showed their faces to the girls, they would kill them rather than let them go. I can't imagine how this has gone over with Mexican viewers, since there is a major case (maybe more?) of a group of young students missing there.
Gael didn't think through coming to Leona's home in the middle of the night to steal a kiss. Did he expect her to become his mistress? Or is he planning to leave Columba? If he's going to take the galan role from David, he's got to be decisive. Plus, does he thinks it's coinkydink that his dad is a human trafficker and cheerleader at his daughters' school got snatched?
I'm waiting for Matias to show up to see what kind of galan he will be.
I don't think Gael is thinking . He seems to have ked a miserable life these past 26 years manipulated, controlled, and physically abused by Ramses while in a fake marriage that Ramses evidently forced him into somehow. He is drawn to Leona because subconsciously , he knows she is Mar. It's the call of that past young soulmate love. I don't think he went to Leona with the thought of kissing her. I think that he feels desperate and alone and wanted to see this person he feels pulled to. We know why he is having this feeling of attraction, but be doesn't yet understand it . Sometimes you can be drawn to somebody but have no idea why.
Urban, your recap has me spellbound.
ITA kudos to Lamberto’s proposal. Romantic but not overdone. His eyes danced with joy and gratitude.
My favorite scene was Andres and Nora when Demencia is reading Armando’s notes. Their eyes say it all, as both quietly try to remain calm.
Loved Armando getting irritated by Elena. He had a big hand in creating this monster.
Irene travels internationally easily. I can't see her doing this while on an Interpol wanted list. Guillermina is making me sick. And Natalia the comisario too.
From the hopeful way Horacio looks at Elsa, he's still waiting to hear she's in love with him. He's certainly not my favorite, but I have to give him props for being gentle and not pushy about it.
A tale of two families. Horacio enters the hospital and all the Morales circle to support him. Elena enters the hospital and chases Estella way, who (rightfully) keeps mum about Elena to Elsa and the other siblings.
Thanks, Urban! Great recap! On the road today so limited comments. Irene better watch her back or she could end up like Horacio in the hospital. Tostadas and telenovelas tonight: the perfect 5 de mayo!
Niecie, Horacio is like a puppy looking to play fetch. That's adorable on puppies and grown lap dogs but no so on grown men. You are right, though, in your assessment of the differences between the families.
Elena resents all her siblings but Elsa most of all. Once Sofie becomes 18 (if Elena is still alive) she will hate her just as much as she now hates Elsa. I do not see redemption in her future. Armando is responsible for how sick she is but that is more out of ignorance than malice.
Demencia is a true demon and I see genuine mental illness there.
Feliz cinco de mayo a todos!
People often claim to hunger for truth, but seldom like the taste when it’s served up – George R.R. Martin
Painful Secrets, Anguished Murmurings and Agonizing Revelations
We begin where we left off…Leona admitting Gael kissed her, David, clearly upset saying he is taking advantage of her as she calms him down. She tells him she set Gael straight but David pouts prettily. Leona puts her arms on his shoulders and down his arms, caressing him lovingly as she puts her head on his chest. David stares angrily over her head.
Leona is on the phone with the bank seeking assurances her money can’t be stolen again as Columba listens in the background. A bit startled, Leona has her wits about her and murmurs that some have nothing to do but steal money from others. Columba arches her eyebrows and urges Leona to keep her eyes open as they may steal other things from her. Columba smirks as Leona glares at her, leaving to find Ramses.
Gael greets Leona coming down the stairs, his eyes radiating his feelings without saying a word. She looks and frostily bids him good morning. She says she is on her way to see Ramses as he stares after her. She reaches Ramses’ door, takes a deep breath and knocks. Come in he answers. She flashes back to the previous night, recalling filming the poor prisoners, as Gael calls her and gives her away, Ramses calling for the guards. Good morning Ramses says snapping her back to the present. The time for the infamous hunting trip has arrived and he decrees she is going with them. He wants her to focus on the children as they are nervous and don’t like the idea of hunting (who can blame them viewerville laments). His presence sickening her, Leona takes her anger and frustration out on the chair, digging her nails in deeply. Calixto stares smirkingly from his front row seat.
Gael and AnaJu are making posters as Kika lurks around the corner. She watches them, simmering with jealousy as Gael tells AnaJu how proud he is of her, hugging and kissing her on the top of her head. Leona, her eyes shining like stars upon seeing her daughter, bids her good morning. She is going to accompany them to the demonstration and then meet everyone at the hunting lodge.
David arrives and tells Gael about his mother’s accident and he is sympathetic. After, Columba slinks up to him. She puts her hands on his chest and slimily suggests Calixto hasn’t touched Camila in years and has the temerity to suggest he be her lover!
Jacinta and Benja are at Clara’s bedside. Eyes wide in pain, Clara’s inner voice screams that it wasn’t an accident! She grips Jacinta’s hand to her daughter’s delight, thinking she is gaining her strength but is sadly missing the point her tortured mother is trying to make!
Jerm asks Lola about her new clothes but she lies and says Kika gave them to her. Jerm wants to strike while the iron is hot and with Clara in the hospital, wants to search for the apartment deeds.
Diana
Camila is overjoyed when David tells her she is a good candidate for the specialized surgery. She hugs him just as Calixto arrives to ruin the moment, ordering David to take Camila’s luggage to the car. Camila tells Calixto he isn’t her father and will never possess his power. Calixto leans in menacingly and sneers he will have the power as he has the best teacher.
The demonstration is in full swing as the marchers’ chant “Justice” for the kidnapped girls (Thank you Rgv Chick for this and other pivotal information). Gael and Leona are clearly affected and proudly flank AnaJu as she takes her place in the ranks.
Ramses and Josefa stroll outside, holding hands. He has a romantic breakfast table set overlooking the beautiful forest. He starts by apologizing for keeping her out of his businesses but (lying) that she is his priority. He opens a jewelry box, where beautiful, shining, ginormous diamond earrings are nestled.
Calixto interrupts Columba’s massage where she urges him to make Leona his mistress. He tells her they have already leaked the news about the bus and everything has been cleaned so there won’t be any evidence. Calixto’s pass is rejected, and Columba urges him to go after Leona. If he can’t win her over, he should “take her” by force. Viewerville is shocked and repulsed.
Leona tells AnaJu that she knows what it’s like to fight against the frustration of knowing that there are bad people, but they should fight and raise their voices against injustice. AnaJu is sad seeing the mothers of the missing girls suffer. Gael tells them that they found the bus, and the bus was completely burned. Leona suggests that this may be a case of trafficking but that someone is trying to cover by making things look like an accident.
Back to the ginormous earrings. They are precious Josefa says but doesn’t seem to want them. Ramses suggests Josefa wear them at their vow renewal. She is taken by surprise and admits as much. As he rubs her arms up and down she is unsmiling and is clearly not reciprocating his feelings. I love you he claims, pulling her forward for a kiss. When Ramses is insistent, asking if she will marry him again she replies I don’t know, I don’t know what to answer. He stares stonily.
David and Camila are also outside on this sun kissed day. He works his magic therapy as she lies on the table. She apologizes for Calixto and he shrugs it off. As he helps her through the rotations, he looks very handsome and very appealing. No wonder Camila is smitten. He tells her the surgery can be scheduled the next week. Camila smiles thinking AnaJu will be happiest about the surgery. David does comment that she is a good woman and wonders how she stays married to someone like Calixto. Camila replies she always thinks of her daughter. She doesn’t have the self-confidence to leave. David assures her it’s never too late and cites Jacinta’s leaving Jerm as an example.
Diana
Lola wants to know what her father will do once the apartment deeds are found. Jerm tells her they can sell the apartments for a lot of money. Lola, to her credit, is worried but Jerm assures her that Jacinta and Clara are liars and hypocrites who keep deep, dark secrets. Lola demands that she be told what they are hiding. Jerm tells her that Benja is adopted. She is teary eyed but he ends up kissing her hand.
Benja is very worried about Clara but Jacinta reassures him. She asks if he has talked to Itzel but no he hasn’t…he admits that Itzel makes him feel good.
Lola asks who Benja’s parents are but Jerm tells her to be satisfied with knowing that Ben isn’t her brother. He points out that her mother has always favored Ben…Lola agrees that they have always treated her badly but that the adopted one, like an angel. Jerm convinces her that is why they need to take revenge.
Flor gives instructions to her team to investigate the bus…and look from traces of the girls.
Awkward silence between Ramses and Josefa ensues. She doesn’t want to renew their vows as there is an absence of love in the family. His true colors are showing as he glares. She brings up Matias who left because Ramses had to prove how powerful he is. Ramses angrily tells her never to bring up Matias! Josefa doesn’t think they should renew their vows when the family is falling apart. Ramses still insists…
AnaJu likes the clean air at the hunting lodge but not the reason they are there. When she notes that some are so cold blooded as to kill, Leona recalls Ramses shooting and killing, annihilating her family. Gael tells Leona that he spent a very special moment with her…being at the demonstration. He sometimes thinks he hasn’t had the courage or done enough for justice.
Romeo and Kika experience a far lesser version of splendor in the grass as they roll on the lawn. He calls her AnaJu as she slaps him and gets up, running away.
A distraught Kika runs into Leona and tells her she is tired of being second to everyone…but that is at an end. She takes off the bracelet Leona had given her and throws her “dumb gift” at her. Leona looks after her very concerned (as well she should).
AnaJu tells Cami that her grandmother is summoning them.
Diana
Calixto is also roaming the forest, armed with a long range rifle with a scope. As he aims, David clearly in his sights, AnaJu arrives and he puts the gun down. David walks several feet away, talking with Jacinta on the phone.
We see Gael and Ramses in the forest as father tells son this trip needs to strengthen their blood ties. Although he knows the truth, Gael verbalizes the hope his father had nothing to do with the disappearance of the young women. Ramses denies it but Gael doesn’t believe him and tells him to stop the business. Ramses smirks asking how he will stop him. Gael said he will gather an army to unmask him and show who he really is. Ramses says they need to use their minds, not their feelings. Gael flashes back to a hunting trip when he was a small child. Ramses shot a deer and insisted Gael stick a knife in the dying animal’s neck. Gael, in tears and horror could not do it so Ramses did. Ramses then put his fingers deep in the wound, smearing blood on them and then painting Gael’s face with the blood despite his agonizing pleas to stop. He was trying to get him to be a real man, strong like Ramses, not weak Gael asks if he will get rid of everyone just like he did Matias? Ramses challenges him to kill the “great” Ramses. Gael, fueled by fury pushes Ramses against the tree and says he hates him and starts to choke him. As life finally starts to fade from Ramses’ eyes, Leona who was in the background watching steps forward (but it took her a moment, didn’t it). At her appearance Gael removes his hands from his father’s throat. Leona silently thinks that Ramses can’t die so quickly. Ramses asks for her discretion and that he doesn’t want his wife to worry. Leona acquiesces.
As Calixto’s rifle aims, the red X clearly on David’s neck, the gun is fired. David goes down quickly. Calixto murmurs “I warned you not to mess with me”.
Back at the lodge, Ramses announces he’s asked Josefa to renew their vows. Josefa stammers they haven’t really decided. More good news, the hunt will soon begin! Kika wants to take the first shot. When AnaJu says she doesn’t want to use a weapon, Kika spews she doesn’t need a weapon to state the truth. They should take advantage of this reunion with everyone present to tell AnaJu the truth about her origin…she is adopted!
Silence falls as shock, outrage and sadness falls upon those gathered…
Diana
Thanks for recap
Leona is playing with 🔥 involving this deep inside Torrenegro family. Ramses, Columba and Calixto deserve punishment for what they have done. Especially Columba.
This is my first telenovela by J. Osorio as a producer. It's so much better than I expected. Definitely not just another Montecristo versión.
Adriana Noel here, writing from work, as I didn't have the patience to wait to get home :))
Diana, that was an amazing read, I couldn't help but spoil myself by reading even before watching the show because your amazing title pulled me in immediately.
You manage to paint such a vivid picture, some of my favorite parts were:
"David pouts prettily" (he's becoming an expert)
"Gael greets Leona coming down the stairs, his eyes radiating his feelings without saying a word" AND "Leona, her eyes shining like stars upon seeing her daughter" are such beautiful descriptions of the characters emotions. Are you sure you're not doing this for a living?
As I said, I haven't watched yet, has Calixto really shot David? That poor family really is going through it, aren't they?
And AnaJu finds out she's adopted? Oh, uh....
Leona thinsk that Gael is part of his father's team, right? Did she actually hear what they were fighting about, too?
Also, are these the woods where Leona lost her phone? This is a novela, there can't be more than one wooded area and Ramses is exactly the type of man who would take his "loved ones" on a family vacation in the same area were he does his nasty business. Since his arrogance knows no limit...
Will someone from the family find the phone?
Thank you for your extremely kind, generous words Adriana. They mean so very much...The gamut of emotions from pure love to pure hatred and everything in between were on full display last evening. It was a thrilling episode.
Seeing what Ramses did to Gael left me amazed that there is an ounce of humanity and kindness left in Gael's soul. My wishful and wistful box received several addtional pebbles last night.
Yes, not only did Calixto shoot David, he had him dead in his sights. It's far too early for anything fatal to happen to him but logic dictates he should not survive.
I don't think Leona is sure exactly how far immersed Gael in Ramses' crimes. As she was so intently watching them, it seemed to appear she did hear part of their their conversation although she may have been watching to see how far the fight would go. Her heart is slowly overruling her thirst for revenge toward Gael although she's not fully aware of it yet. Her hatred toward Ramses is still being fueled and will never die. I thought that was evident for her waiting to intervene until the last second before Gael choked Ramses to death. Ramses knew Gael wouldn't do it.
This bears repeating in its enirety: "This is a novela, there can't be more than one wooded area and Ramses is exactly the type of man who would take his "loved ones" on a family vacation in the same area were he does his nasty business. Since his arrogance knows no limit..." Perfectly expressed. I would tend toward saying it is a different forest but only as Ramses would have ensured his prison of torture was not a place where he would bring his family.
I am thinking that the phone might be found by an outsider or not at all. I'm usually wrong in these predictions so...
Anon, glad you are enjoying this. There are so many guilty and I'm sure plenty of punishment to go round.
Diana
Dear Diana, what a wonderful start to the day with bright sunshine and your wonderful retelling of all the dark details ! Love your writing style. You bring every scene to life .
The scene between Gael and Ramses was amazing . Ramses sucker punches Gael as he must have done so many times in the past , but this time Gael reacts and turns the tables displaying his strength. It was amazing to see that Daniel held his own in that tense scene with the talented Cantu. What did Leona think watching ?
After seeing awful Columba completely uncaring with those poor kidnapped girls, I shouldn't be surprised that she told Calisto to either seduce or force Leona. She is stone cold evil. Telling David to become Camila's lover was out of the blue. I guess she just likes to mess with people. Why doesn't Gael push her away when she hangs in him ?
One correction , that was a wild boar that Ramses wanted terrified young Gael to stab. The camera kept focusing on its eye. Horrible . Ramses has a disregard for all life . He is a monster. His dies Cantu shake this role off when the cameras stop ?
Can't believe that Capital shot David.
More later . I am loving this show as it unfolds.
Thank you Susanlynn!
Gael has surely suspected Ramses of atrocities over the years, but this crime pushed Gael to the brink. The tension so thick it could have been cut with a knife clearly applied to their mesmerizing scene. The acting has been stellar throughout as you noted.
I am anxious to see how injured David is as Calixto had him dead in his sights.
Thank you for noting the poor creature was a boar. It didn't look like a deer but boar didn't occur to me. Yes, that eye was just pitiful.
There is much justice to mete out and Ramses and Columba should receive fitting retributions.
Diana
Thanks so much, Diana, for your great recap!
I love the quotes you choose!
Columba has reached a new level of evilness. I can't believe she told Calixto to force Leona to be his mistress. What an awful human! I can't wait for her anvil.
We know that Kika is a complete brat, but just like her mother, she has reached a new level. Of being pathetic and stooping low. How awful that AnaJu learned she's adopted that way.
David will definitely survive. Calixto is getting worse.
Adriana is right, Ramsés probably took them to the same woods. I have no idea who'll find the phone, but I hope it's either Gael or AnaJu.
Go Gael! I can't see him as a villain. I think he's the actual galán, probably because in telenovelas, almost no protagonista is in a relationship with the galán in this point of the story. I'm sure the original galán was Gael, but the writers are confusing me with the "giving viewers what they want" line. What do they think we want? Lol.
Ramsés is just getting worse. I didn't think it was able for someone to get worse that Ramsés in the first few episodes, but here he is to prove me wrong.
Thanks so much Diana, your writing is captivating. You could write for a living.
Ramses shows his feelings so well. When Josefa wasn’t sure about marrying him again you could just see his feelings change. A scary dude, but good for Josefa. (That she stood her ground, not that he’s good for her!)
Columba has ice in her veins and Kiki is going to be just like her. They both delight in other people’s suffering. Kiki revealed the secret to hurt AnaJu because she is so jealous of her. But I hope this backfires on her. I wonder if they’ll reveal that Gael is her real father at this point. She wanted to bask in being a true Torrenegro, can’t wait for her to find out AnaJu got there first!
There still might be hope for Lola, she needs to open her eyes to exactly who her father is.
I don’t care for Clara but I sure hope she recovers! Jeremías is putting them all in danger by revealing Benja is adopted.
I’m still worried about the cheerleaders, they must be out of the country by now. Will they ever be saved? Seems doubtful.
On the forest debate, I was thinking it’s the same forest but in a different area.
Also, I’m not good at names but I was thinking J. Osorio is the one that puts his son, that sings, in them. And they’re usually not this dark. Actually lighter fare! But I could have names mixed up.
Liz
Thank you Weirdo!
Kika lashed out at AnaJu like the troubled and vindictive teenager she is. Yes, what a cruel, powerful blow she inflicted. I am fairly certain Ramses will make her rue such a rash decision.
Perhaps there is just one forest in this! One of Amazonian proportions...it will be interesting to see.
I'm sure there are several camps in the who Leona ends up with debate. I imagine it all comes down to which one Osorio listens to...
"I didn't think it was able for someone to get worse that Ramsés in the first few episodes, but here he is to prove me wrong" was exactly right! And we are only at epi 25!!
Diana
Liz, I so appreciate your kind words.
You made an excellent point about Ramses showing his feelings "so well". He does, doesn't he? And his expression changes with the flip of a switch. Smarmily smiling one moment, dripping venom the next. A hideous creature.
I agree with you that there is hope for redemption for Lola! Fingers crossed.
I am trying to keep faith in that the missing girls will be recoverd but that hope seems to be diminishing. I'm never good at keeping track of how much time passes during these episodes. I think we will need to watch Flor to see if she and her team can find them.
Yes, Emilio Osorio usually sings the theme songs and appears in his father's TNs. I think this is Juan's darkest TN to date (at least that I've seen) But you are right, I haven't seen him in this; he wasn't in La Herencia either.
Diana
Thanks for the info, Diana. I think he did both Mi Marido tiene Familia and another one with the same clothing company. They had bad guys but were mainly family fare. And the bad guys were good compared to our trio here! I’m ready for another one like that!
Liz
Great comments. The writers certainly are keeping this show interesting and the viewers on the edge of their seats.
I am sure that Cal didn't kill David , but David was hit. Evidently ,on a hunting outing , people are fair game for Calisto.
I can't wait to see where this story goes next . Anaju will be devastated and want answers . Will she soon find out that her beloved tio is actually her father or will they drag that storyline out ?
It seems that Romeo didn't mind cavorting with Kika ,but he really is focused on Anaju which makes Kika crazy. Do we have to keep an eye on Romeo ? Will he try to take advantage of Anaju who was so upset about the missing girls and now will probably be even more confused and upset since Kika maliciously blurted out that Anaju is adopted.
I dont think the writers will leave that cellphone in the forest for long. Who will find it...A good guy or one of the demons ? I would like Gael to find it .
Daniel is doing a fantastic job depicting the torment that Gael feels as he tries to be a good father\uncle to the kids , a good son to his mother, and a good brother to his sister as they all live with three demons in that glass mansion. Amazing that the glass house hides so many dark, dangerous secrets .
Sensational recap, Diana. So full of imagery. Like reading a terrific novel. The quote is powerful (one I'd never heard before). Yep, Kika and what's his name sure were a trashy opposite of "splendor in the grass."
You go, Gael! Choke that sob. The flashback to that wounded animal was heartbreaking, I could barely watch this.
Though Calixto's aim was good, maybe David is wearing something that blunted the bullet's impact? Certainly not a bullet-proof vest, but maybe something else. We know he'll survive, but I don't want him to be laid up with Calixto free to humiliate Camila.
I'm expecting Kika's words to backfire on her, at least I'm hoping...
Kika is a mean teen corrupted by Columba, so I get her jealousy of AnaJu. But Benja has been a good son to Jeremias, so this idiot trying to turn Lola against Benja is sickening.
I can't help but be amused by Ramses insistence he wanted to make Gael strong. Whenever someone shows a ounce of resistence, that person pays dearly for it. Matias was strong enough to leave 'the dinasty' (love the stupidity of the title), Gael chose a girl Ramses didn't aprove of. We all know how that one ended.Ramses idea of strength seems to be sadistic. It's quite something watching twisted, sick people spouting nonsense like that and being convinced they are right. I'm starting to wonder if Ramses' father had mental issues or if somehow Ramses is the only one. I bet he'd score high on those antisocial personality tests.
I wonder what Columba would do if David indeed became Camila's lover. I know that's not happening, but she doesn't strike me as someone who would let others be happy. Calixto is the same way. What is going on with those two? They supposedly have things they want. Gael doesn't love her, but Columba most probably knew what she was getting. Are they just sick or is there something more? If Calixto caused Camila's accident, he has the same kind of cruelty as Ramses. But he enjoyes humiliating her as well. I used to think this kind of behaviour could spring from resentment, but maybe it's not the case here.
David should really end up with Camila. He gave her some good advice. I love it when someone tells someone else it's never too late. I really want Camila to be happy.
That was a long comment, but the recap made me wonder about many things.
Niecie, thank you very much!
It will be interesting to see how wounded David will be. I know I'm repeating myself but it was such a clear shot!! "We know he'll survive, but I don't want him to be laid up with Calixto free to humiliate Camila" was great - me neither!
Because Columba wa the one who told Kika about AnaJu, she is the only one who knew Kika had this information, or am I wrong? Ramses is going to be livid especially as it is his favorite who is wounded. I wonder what AnaJu's reaction will be. Also, Leona looked shocked but I thought I saw a very brief flash of some emotion (joy/shock) that part of the truth was out there. Did anyone else see or feel that??
Susanlynn, I'm sure the cell phone will come backc to haunt Leona. However, no one from Ramses' camp realizes she dropped it. If they make an effort to "sweeep" the area, it might well turn up. But I think if that were to happen, it would have occurred already. Perhaps it has a mind of its own like a certain "ring" and will show itself when it is ready. :)
waterlily, Ramses, Columba and Calixto are so depraved, it's almost impossible to know what is going on in their diseased brains! Yes, "it's never too late" and David and Camila would be a great couple. She stares at David the way Gael stares at Leona...
Diana
Diana, I dont know what ring you are referring to! Sometimes I lose track of things because this show has so many characters and storylines .
You are so right that Cami stares at David the way Gael stares at Leona. They are both attracted to not only the beauty of these characters but also their innate goodness juxtaposed against the evil in the three people they live with.
I am definitely starting to think that David is not the galan
as I had supposed when I first read the synopsis of this show . I had never watched a show with Daniel Elbittar as the galan . He makes an excellent villain with his signature evil side eye which we don't see him using as much of in this show. Also, his character abandoned the leading lady and was the son of a villain. However, I had seen Danilo as a galan in several telenovelas. That kiss he planted on Leona made me convinced that he was the galan. That was a galan kiss for sure . Also, he is so sweet with the children . I think we are going to see Gael on the hero's journey.
Great talk on the Patio, this show is making our brains work overtime.
Danilo Carrera definitely started as the galan, he has second billing and was advertised as such. Daniel Elbittar was the antagonista (not a villain, just a grey character).
Now they are starting to talk about Daniel Elbittar as the co-protagonista, and I have to believe this is because of the very good public response Gael is getting. It can't only be the Patio that is in love with him and is rooting for him and Leona to be endgame.
Of course the writers will do whatever they want with the story, but it's rare to have a novela where you actually have 2 men with equal chance to get the girl right from the start.
Daniel Elbittar has a lot of charm and gets very decent writing (all the focus on the abuse he has suffered is making him be a very sympathetic character).
For whatever reason they asked Fanilo Carrera to talk in that funny accent he sometimes uses in novelas - that's not the way he actually talks and I don't think it does him any favors. Besides, his writing is not as great...
There is an interesting parallel here: Gael is on the path of redemption, David might descend into darkness if his obsession for Leona increases.
Adriana, thank you for that interesting information . I wonder if Danilo C. was happy with the turn of events.
Daniel Elbittar seems to be a very charming guy,and he managed to convene charm and vulnerability and sweetness as Gael. Also,i think that was the best galan kiss that I've ever seen, and my first telenovela was watching Fernando Colunga as the galan Don Luis in Alborado.
Thank you to everyone who commented today. What an insightful group!
Susanlynn, I was referring to the ring in the Lord of the Rings, who kept trying to get back to its master. :) I am a huge fan and many of the quotes I've used over the years are from Tolkien.
"They are both attracted to not only the beauty of these characters but also their innate goodness juxtaposed against the evil in the three people they live with" was lovely.
Adriana, thank you for all of the information on Daniel and Danilo. It will be fun to see where all of this actually leads. Personally, I'm rooting for Daniel because as you so wisely observed "Daniel Elbittar has a lot of charm and gets very decent writing (all the focus on the abuse he has suffered is making him be a very sympathetic character)". Exactly! Except when he is with one of his children, or Leona, he often has a sorrowful look that would break your heart. It is clear that his lot in life weighs heavily and has taken a toll, mentally exhausting him.
David is a good person who has made several bad decisions but that doesn't mean he doesn't deserve to be happy. And poof, here is Camila to make it so!
Diana
Diana, thanks for explaining " the ring!!! " I was trying to think of a ring in this telenovela , but I could only remember the necklace that David gave Leona!!!
Perhaps some viewers would like to see the parents of the twins reunited and the family that was so brutally torn apart by demon Ramses reunited .
P.s. I collect quotes and have journals filled with my favorites . I read them when my spirits need a boost . I always enjoy the quotes you share with us . Your recaps are wonderful, and I always look forward to them . Even though these shows can be a bit crazy and exaggerated , they really are studies in the human condition. .....man, woman, birth, death, infinity.
Álvaro Montaño - main villain in "Apuesta por amor" and Pedro - main villain in Los que la vida me robo
I didn't finish my previous comment. Main villains in those telenovelas finished in prison tortured with gang rape on daily basis. Well, I am looking at you Calixto and Ramses
I don't think Gael is Kika's father. That spoiled, self-centered, sadistic creature acts like a Columba's clone.
I noticed the comments about Emilio Osorio. I don't think this can be considered a spoiler, so I'll say it: El Amor Invencible has 2 intro songs listed in Wikipedia, "El amor invencible" without a singer (no lyrics) and "Solo un beso", sang by Emilio Osorio.
Since Weirdo mentioned songs and we know how important they are in a novela, I remember very well how during the kiss between Gael and Leona there was no romantic music, just the type of sound that comes with a tense scene, the kind of dramatic background they normally use during a pivotal moment. They do use a lot of mushy music for David and Leona, though... He's still our prota for now...

Escape: Just the Facts Edition
Part 1 of 5
Demencia finished reading the message. Nora asked what it said and she answered “Nothing. Just greetings.” She then got up and left the room. Both Nora and Andres knew that this was not like Armando. They got up, both certain that Armando revealed that Andres was not his brother. Before they could do anything else Demencia returned with her shotgun and said “Don't move, wretch, or I'll blow your head off.” Both Andres and Nora tried to talk her down, but Demencia would not be deterred. “You are the wretch who knocked up Elsa.” She shouted for Manuel who came running in, shouting at Andres that he invaded her home under false pretenses. She refused to listen to him, then ordered Manuel to take him out and tie him up in the barn. As Manuel complied with a look of reluctance Nora tried talking sense into her mother, who then shoved her back.
Guillermina called Armando, telling him she had the dirt on Irene, asking him to stop by her office on his way to work. He agreed.
Irene stopped to talk to Estela on her way to the mayor's office to tell her that it was Hector's birthday and she was going to the office to help his staff with the party. She asked Estela if she would be there later and she agreed. At noon.
At that moment Hector and Elsa brought Horacio to the hotel room for his recovery. Horacio wished his dad a happy birthday and Hector left for the office.
Guillermina closed her computer as Armando entered and she told him she had good news. This was that René Dumont (Irene's ex-husband) was in a French prison for arms trafficking and there was an arrest warrant out for her as an accomplice. Armando appeared surprised. Both gloated. She said she would talk to her cousin, then asked why he suspected something. He said that it didn't appear logical that she did as well in France as she said and then came to establish herself in San Juan to work in the mayor's office. He asked her to follow up with her cousin and she agreed. He thanked her, kissed her on the cheek, and left. As he closed the door on his way out she looked confused, then deluded.
Aurora told Carlos she would not let him see their daughter if he did not live with them. [Carlos, call Gerardo's lawyer.] He told her that for their daughter's sake he was willing for them to live together. She was excited and hugged him but he told her that it wasn't about them but their child. She swore she would do what it took to save their marriage but Carlos still had gave doubts that this was possible. “We'll see.” He told her he would not tolerate even one more lie. She swore there would be no more. [Every shrink in the world will tell you that a broken marriage isn't good for children to live with.] She asked him to pack and move back in but he told her he was staying at his father's place until their house was finished. She was to pack up her and the baby's things.
Hector was at the office talking to his secretary who was telling him his agenda for the day on the way to his office. He opened his office door and everyone yelled “Surprise!” He made a gesture and said “You almost gave me a heart attack” then was hugged by each staff member and by Estela.

Part 2 of 5
Andres tried to get Manuel not to tie him up, saying he only wanted to know where his daughter was buried. Manuel then realized that he was the father of Elsa's baby and that was why he was looking around the cemetery. Andres explained he only wanted to find his daughter's grave to say goodbye. He asked him to let him go and he could tell Demencia that he escaped. Manuel said he wanted to help him but feared the consequences of doing so. Demencia would not give any consideration to Nora for doing so so he could not take the risk. He apologized for that before leaving.
The staff sang Las Mañanitas. Hector gave Estela a meaningful look, then blew out the candles on the cake.
Antonia called Gerardo and told him about Elena's next stalking and how she tried to get her to help her win him back, asking her all sorts of questions. He suggested that she tell Elena she wasn't interested in being her friend. That she should say not to impose on her. Love talk, then another comment to say to Elena to stop bothering her.
Hector thanked his staff then told Estela about the accident. She was a little upset that he had hot told her earlier but he had been worried about Horacio. She wanted to help and he told her that Horacio and Elsa were in the hotel for the time being. Natalia barged in, apologized for interrupting the party, and arrested Irene. She handed the arrest warrant to Hector for inspection. Irene said she was innocent. Natalia said “Tell it to the judge” and had the two uniformed cops take Irene out. Hector and Estela followed them out. They may or may not have noticed Guillermina watching from the end of the block.
Demencia demanded to know whether Andres had been deceiving her. Nora denied it and told her mother she was mistaken. She had no reason not to believe him. She said to let him go and forget about it. Demencia refused saying that Andres had mocked her(self) and will pay dearly for this.
Meche and Bruno talked about their students' talent and Meche showed him her casting choices. He had alternate suggestions for some but they agreed on the choices for the leads. When she imitated the way her choice spoke the lines he was emotionally impressed [and another triangle is born]. He looked as though he was going to kiss her and was saved by the bell. He said they would discuss understudies next as he went off to his class.
Natalia returned to her office and called Alfredo to let him know she had made the arrest.
Elena showed up at the hotel as Antonia ended her shift. She almost shoved her into her car so they could go to a restaurant.
Estela was in shock. Irene had a bakery in Paris and rescued dogs, so WTH was this about? Hector called his lawyer.

Escape: Just the Facts Edition
Part 3 of 5
Guillermina called Armando to tell him that the arrest had been made. He was impressed that this happened so quickly and she assured him that her cousin's position was such that he could make this happen ASAP. As for when she would be sent to the capital she would let him know. She gloated about Irene being discovered to be a criminal. Armando sounded like he was embarrassed about this until Guillermina said something about if she were Hector she would demand background checks on all personnel. He said “Good idea; why don't you propose it?” She said she would and if he needed her help...[You know the drill. It was obvious he couldn't wait to end this call, but she could not see that.].
Elena brought Antonia to what she said was Gerardo's favorite restaurant and behaved in a very condescending manner regarding the cuisine and atmosphere. After the waiter left with her order she started asking Antonia personal questions about herself. Antonia was very uncomfortable with all this. Elena began talking about studying fashion but there was no school for that in San Juan...
Armando told Renzo he was going to see Irene in the lockup. He told him to be discreet.
Estela got there first and told Irene that Hector had engaged his own lawyer for this. Irene told her to thank him and was incredulous that this happened. Estela assured her that the lawyer would straighten this out.
Elena continued her interrogation of Antonia after the food was served, obviously looking for anything she could use later to embarrass her. Antonia – who obviously felt trapped – hesitated to answer anything in more than two or three words. When Elena said Antonia was pretty “for your level of society” and started suggesting a makeover that would virtually have changed everything about her Antonia looked at her incredulously and told he she liked her own style and didn't need anything else. That didn't stop Elena, though, who suggested they go back to her place so she could do her face [From the look on Elena's face Antonia should fear an acid throw].
Nora carefully looked around but Demencia shouted at her. She answered that she was going to the veterinarian about equine medicines. Demencia didn't believe her, saying she was going to see “that wretch.” Demencia forbade her to go anywhere. She was not to leave “until I decide what to do with this impostor.”
Hector told Carlos he couldn't understand this abuse of authority. When Natalia came in she told him her superiors would notify her when Irene would be transferred to Mexico City. He demanded that Irene be released as it was impossible that she was guilty. Natalia refused with an explanation that put the responsibility in French hands. Nor would she tell Hector who provoked the arrest. Hector explained to Estela and Carlos that his lawyer is contacting a law firm in France and they had to be patient due to the time difference.
Meche got home to find Aurora and the baby. Aurora told her she and Carlos were back together and Meche correctly surmised that this was because of the baby. She couldn't imagine Carlos trusting anyone whose lie sent an innocent man to prison. She would not listen to excuses. She was glad to have her brother and niece back home, “but not you.” She kissed the baby and said to Aurora “Forger that we were ever friends.”

Escape: Just the Facts Edition
Part 4 of 5
Elena went to the Montero house only for Angela to tell her that Gerardo was not there. She further told her that she didn't know where Gerardo was and that it had been a long time since he shared his life with her. Elena said she was desperate and needed her help, but Angela told her she had tried and failed. “He decided to leave you and you have to accept it.” “How dare you say this to me. I married him for life!” Angela said she had warned her but she didn't take her advice. Elena tried to guilt-trip her over the fact that she had not ratted her adultery out to her mother so she owed her. Angela said she couldn't get her with cheap threats. Estela knew everything now so Elena had nothing on her. “You could make him come back to me,” Elena said, but Angela was fed up. She said to excuse her, she had many things to do, and told her to leave. As she left it looked as though Angela was going to roll her eyes.
Elsa and Horacio were discussing a crime movie they were watching when room service delivered their evening meal. [More love talk that most of us have heard before.]
Angela went up to Aurora's room to find an empty closet. She called Rocio who told her that Aurora and the baby must have left with Señor Carlos. Angela was angry, said she wasn't hungry, and asked for some gin and ice. She finally left the room.
Andres had managed to slide his tied hands and the rope closer to the end of the broken banister or whatever he was tied to. Manuel brought him some hot tea, saying he couldn't come earlier because Demencia had him and Nora watched. Andres asked how much longer he would be imprisoned in there. Manuel answered “No idea; you never know with her.” Andres replied he couldn't take any more of the pain from the ropes. He implored him to let him go. Manuel started to loosen them.
Armando paid an out-of-hours visit to Irene; undoubtedly he had his contacts for this to happen. He told her that when she was extradited he would be back in control of the company. She told him that would not happen because everything would be cleared up. “Drop your smile.” He said goodnight and left. She realized that he was behind her arrest.
Gerardo went to see Antonia; Lamberto let him in. He wanted to know whether Gerardo did the right thing. Gerardo explained that he had talked to the lawyer and initiated the divorce process. Lamberto as satisfied with this answer and sent Antonia to him. She told him about Elena's latest attempt and that no matter how many times she said no Elena would not give up. He said to just tell her to stop and she told him how she had almost dragged her to the car. This got him and he said “That can't be” and then Elena tried calling Antonia. “It's her. This will drive me crazy.”
Demencia was having her morning coffee when the cook entered the dining room telling her something was wrong with the stove; there was no gas. Demencia finally got up and went to the kitchen. Nora had been watching and then slipped out.
Capitulo 52, Viernes 5 Mayo 2023
Escape: Just the Facts Edition
Part 5 of 5
Elena hadn't eaten her breakfast and told Flor she wasn't hungry. Estela came down to breakfast and Sofie asked about Irene. Estela said there was a problem that she hoped would be back by that night. Elena said that Irene “had a tail to be stepped on” and said in front of her younger siblings that she was told that Irene had been arrested. Domingo asked if she was in jail and Estela told her there was a misunderstanding that would soon be resolved. She then said to Elena not to talk about what she knows nothing about. Elena said “Well, then you explain it to us” with a spoiled brat look. “When it's resolved we'll talk about it,” Estela said. Miguel asked about Gerardo and the crocodile tears began. She did the Poor Little Me thing of saying he abandoned her. Estela told her to give him time to reconsider and her reply was “Time? To f**k that other woman?” “Elena, watch what you're saying in front of your siblings.” She then suggested the kids brush their teeth before going to school.
Nora went into the barn and apologized to Andres for not coming earlier She cut him free with a kitchen knife. She had created a distraction but there wasn't much time. She told him to escape and she would follow. He was not to stop.
Horacio sat in the hotel's garden and Elsa left to go to the office to get his computer so he could work.
Manuel was carrying the gas tank when Demencia appeared with her shotgun. She said he would pay dearly for mocking her. Manuel asked if it wouldn't be better to just let him go and she said not to tell her what to do. And that he deserved worse.
When they arrived at the barn Andres was gone. Demencia got madder.
Fin de Capitulo 53
I hope Nora escapes, too. Demencia is both a sociopath and a psychopath and who knows how many other people she has tortured or killed in the past. And how much does Manuel know about any of that?
I can't believe Angela gave up on Elena (not that I don't like that she did). Does she not care anymore now that Armando has rejected her? Guillermina is more deluded than ever and it seems that nobody knows yet about her Big Secret.
Terrific recap, Urban. I hung on every word.
"He [Armando] said “Good idea; why don't you propose it?” She [Guillermina] said she would and if he needed her help...[You know the drill. It was obvious he couldn't wait to end this call, but she could not see that.
I got a kick out of that scene. Guillermina is a fool, getting zero for herself in catering to Armando.
The charge against Irene came out of left field. How convenient for Armando.
The sensible thing for Demencia to do is to send Andres packing. But nope, she ties him up at gunpoint and is waiting for inspiration on just how to torture him.
I was yelling at Antonia not to get in the car with Elena. I guess she never saw "Single White Female" or "Fatal Attraction."
Urban, thank you for your picture-perfect rendition of all of Friday’s gloomy events.
Given her distrustful, hateful nature it is surprising Demcenia wasn’t immediately suspicious when “Gerardo” first appeared. It was in his favor that she lives not in the present day but in a bygone era without modern day technology. Having to find out the truth from Armando surely fueled her fire. She will have no hesitation in shooting Andres and he needs fate to intervene somehow.
Elena is only firing on one cylinder at this point and the remaining fuel is ebbing quickly. Stalking with a sticky, sick sweetness. Poor Antonia. And yes Niecie, it does not appear she saw “Fatal Attraction”. 😊
So Irene has “a bakery in Paris and rescued dogs.” To me, that sounds delightful and I would never have left. Sweets and saving our dearest companions sound ideal.
Aurora should just let Carlos go. Neither wants the other and when he finds out about Horacio, any tiny possibility they could successfully reconcile would evaporate. She should concentrate on raising her daughter, getting away from her mother and move forward.
After Meche finished her lines, Bruno looked as though he’d been hit by the thunderbolt. We saw her eyes light up when she met him as well as a few wistful looks. As you smartly noted Urban “another triangle is born” and she may well go the way of being the “other woman” as quite a few already have.
Diana
Niecie, I think Armando created that charge and it's not entirely out of left field.
Irene said a number of episodes ago she was divorced and didn't explain why. My feeling is that she found out her husband was involved in this and divorced him, then got out while the getting was good. Had she been anything close to being implicated in this she could not have left Paris, let alone France.
Diana, a bakery shop owner who rescues dogs is a delightful person with a charmed life to be living in Paris, especially one who is sitting on a fortune. Irene only left Paris to help Estela after Hector contacted her.
Demencia gets off on torturing people. Elena is on her way to this; there could be a SWF or FA plot line some episodes from now which could require Gerardo to become the White Knight. If this happens sooner rather than later Armando would have to face his own responsibility for this.
Aurora should let Carlos go. There is no fixing their relationship. If Horacio had not survived tat accident she might have gotten away with it all, but I don't see that either. Meche is a very loyal sister who won't let this go.
Urban, thank you for that very detailed account as this tale gets more and more frustrating.
Let's hope that Hector and his lawyer come to Irene's rescue quickly. Irene and Estela had Armando backed into a corner, but now he is smirking again. What magic does Armando that makes Angela , Demencia ,and Guill do his bidding ? He is joyless and without any charm or manners.
Elena is nuts. Antonia has to stay as far away from her as possible . I think she could try to kill her in her crazy , possessive attempt to hang on to Gerardo. Antonia should never be alone with her.
Does anyone know how many episodes are left?
Thanks Urban, that was a great read to go along with my cookies and milk.
I guess finding out from Padre that Armando had wanted Elsa to have an abortion didn’t wake Guillermina up to the fact that Armando is a snake in the grass that is using her. I do wonder why she had to contact her brother to find out about the gum smuggling. And Armando seemed surprised. Yet part of me feels he is behind those charges. So I really don’t understand but hope she’s innocent. And I’m glad she realized Armando is behind her arrest. Guess he didn’t like being fired.
Elena is dangerous and Antonia needs to refuse to have anything to do with her. She might need a restraining order!
And Demencia is another crazy one. Does she just torture and kill people at will? I wonder if her husband will reappear! Or had he left the area! Nora should go with Andres, she’s a prisoner there.
Loved hearing Meche let Aurora know where they stood in terms of friendship.
Apparently no one suspects the hit and run was a planned attempt on either Elsa or Horacio. They seem to get along great, but I find it hard to believe they “te amo” each other.
Liz
According to a Mexican novela fan site this will have 90 episodes.
Armando made a good public image for himself; Estela said so a number of episodes ago. If he actually quadrupled the company's profits he knows his job. He might even be a firm but fair boss in terms of pay scale; you can't run the place like a sweatshop and maintain that.
He and Estela have been married for 25 years. He may have been a good husband for a while, but may have started to become more controlling a few years after Estela's father died. Silvia estimated that the affair with Angela started "8 or 9 years ago" before the time jump, meaning that Elsa would have been 9 or 10 years old and Elena 4 or 5 years older than Elsa.
Guillermina was pregnant when Armando was about to marry Estela, so what happened to Guillermina then? The smart money says she went away for a while and came back after abandoning the baby or giving it up for adoption. Was Armando involved in that? She may not have returned right away; she may have needed to complete her education to become a teacher. Today she is a spinster school principal. And who is that baby today? Manuel? Nora? Someone else?
Guillermina is even more pathetic than Elena; you'd think she would be intelligent enough to understand her situation but -- like Elena -- she doesn't want to.
Little heads up, I have a busy week ahead, but I'll be able to post recaps for Wednesday and Thursday.
Talk soon 😀
Hi Adriana, thanks so much for offering to do Wednesday and Thursday.
I will put highlights up for Monday and Tuesday.
Jarifa, Friday was quite an exciting episode!!
Diana
I can recap or do highlights for Friday, depending on how busy my day will be. But I'll definitely write something.
