I gotta be honest I had a hard time focusing on this episode. I don't know how much I actually saw. I read the original recap before the airing this time and I was so distracted by the fact that they were actually having a funeral like service for Lisa that everything else is a blurr...

I can't even imagine!! This week is actually coming up on the one year anniversary of my mom's death and attending her celebration of life the first time was hard enough, to have another one after a couple of years? or Ever??? No thank you!!!! No, no, no, no, no, no! Who would do that? I thought they were just going to honor Lisa in some way - do her favorite activity, cook her fav meal, something like that - not have a second service. Did I mention I find this horrible???

I do remember one other thing - I finally agree with Miguel on something. Bobby and his bullying is David's business not Luci's. She just has no qualms about insinuating herself where ever she wants to be does she? And suggesting to David that she needed to intervene because he doesn't seem to care about his children's issues was cold!!!! Especially since he left the mopping awhile back and is now paying attention to his kids.

Vino. Great observations about the memorial service, Darcy. Btw, Graciela seems completely incapable of feeling guilt. Psychopath or sociopath? Re Luci's intervention in Bobby's being bullied: Yes, that was David's business, not hers. OTOH, her idea of Bobby's confronting the bullies directly was pretty good, but Bobby's using his aunt's acquaintance with a world-famous soccer star was incredibly crafty. (of course that would probably have gone over better in Mexico than in Sonoma). At least he knows that he can now use both his voice and his brain to stand up for himself.

I don’t really know the difference between psychopath and sociopath but Dr. Google says she’s a psychopath! Lol

A sociopath is a person with a personality disorder that is marked by traits of impulsivity, risk-taking, and violence. A psychopath is a person who has an antisocial personality disorder characterized by a lack of regard for the rights and feelings of others, controlled and manipulative behavior, the absence of shame, and an inability to form emotional relationships.

Vino. Thanks, Darcy! Dr. Google. Who'd have thunk! :)

Today we discovered where Luci gets her entitlement from!!! Marta!!! She's getting ready to go on what her 2nd date with Gut and she has no qualms about telling him exactly who he can and can't be friends with!!! Not to mention all the other hoops he needs to jump through....Gut is no prince so I don't feel bad for him but wow! The controlling gene is alive and well in that family! To be clear, if you are actually in a committed relationship with someone I think it's fine to ask them not to be in certain relationships that make you uncomfortable but to make demands before the 2nd date seems inappropriate to me!

Speaking of inappropriate, I was trying to imagine my boss's face if I refused to be involved in a project because I don't like who's running it.......but then I realized I don't want to see that look! Luci was like 5 years old when she was laying down that ultimatum. And again, the entitlement runs deep, I mean her whole argument about honoring all the years of hard work and the land might have sounded a lot less ridiculous if she wasn't on like her 15th day of work at the vineyard (counting from day 1 and subtracting all the days in the middle when she didn't even work there!!) but it did make me laugh so there's that...lol

And now, I want to copy and paste my two favorite comments from the patio on the original recap of today's episode:

Niece ‘Juan is so happy getting off scot-free for the bad pesticides and being back in David’s good graces. He’s an affable guy – he’s hit on Graciela, Susan and Luciana each and taken their rejections well. He’s smart enough to wait for the right time to pull the immigration card on Luciana. And I like that beard. Yikes, I’m being pulled to the dark side!’

And Susanlynn: ‘niece…Yes, come to the dark side!! I think that Juan is the bestlooking guy in this show. When Hubba had a beard and mustache like Juan’s my mother called him “Mephistopholes”..the devil, but she said that she meant it in a good way!!! Dark and dangerous!

I 100% agree with this message!!! Christian de la Campa for President!!! :) LOL On a serious note though, I can't figure out why Christian doesn't get cast in main galan roles, and not just because he's good looking enough for the job but because as we saw in Guerrero he has the acting chops to go along with the handsome face! he's had one I think, and a couple like Tierra de Reyes and Guerrero where you could say he was a co-galan, but mostly he's just cast as the side kick over and over, I don't get it. But then I also don't understand the appeal of a couple of the actors who are cast in the galan role novela after novela....I guess I am just not the target demographic. Shrug

Vino. Yep, Luci seemed like a terribly poor sport when she said she wouldn't participate in the launch of the vintage wine because she didn't like David's and Graciela's plans for it. She doesn't know that Graciela is a crook and a killer, and launching the wine along with an art show actually seems like a pretty good idea--and the type of thing that would probably get a lot of coverage in local media. Btw, did anyone notice that Lilian and Graciela are anti-latino snobs? They look down on the workers who are from Mexico or of 100% Mexican or Central American descent. And Lilian speaks English with a very upper-crust British accent. Totally agree with you about Christian de la Campa!

Vino

I agree the wine launch with art show is a good idea. Luci probably would have agreed too if Susan had suggested it instead of Gracie!

Yep, I noticed the classism and racism...it's sad, I thought that Lillian's attitude was because Marta stole her man but it sounds like she looked down on her own husband too. Why marry him then, I wonder? Gracie's attitude is learned I guess. You grow up hearing it and you become it I suppose.

More arguing about the presentation and more of Luci being childish! I love that David called her out on being unprofessional. I don't love that every conversation between Miguel and David becomes a pissing competition - that would be so annoying to live/work with.

Gracie seems to be making inroads surprisingly and it makes me wonder, why would Gracie be okay with the kids when Luci isn't?? If it were me I would be way more weirder out by the idea of my dad dating my aunt versus just meeting someone new.

I was surprised Fer was upset about Peter playing with Bobby you'd think that she'd be happy to have Bobby entertain him instead of dealing with him herself.

The character of Miguel annoys me as I've said before, but a comment on the orginal recap of this episode made me stop and think about the quality of Raúl Coronado's acting made me stop and think, it can be hard to appreciate a performance when the character annoys you but after thinking about it I gotta give credit where it's due - he is actually doing a fantastic job of playing a much too eager, hopelessly smitten doofus!! LOL Kimberly dos Ramos (Gracie) is also fabulous! I love her facial expressions - I am still amazed that she played this role in her early twenties but she's pulling it off, most of the time I forget that she is really a goo 15-20 years younger than the character she's playing.

Vino. Yep, Darcy, in the Catholic Church it used to be forbidden for someone to marry the sibling of one's deceased spouse. In high school I had a classmate whose mother was the sister of her father's deceased wife. They had to get a formal dispensation to marry in the church. And Peter just keeps showing himself to be more and more wonderful. So silly for Fer to prefer Tano, who is too old for her and not interested anyway.
