Rivals Ally; True Love, Forced Love; Poison Takes Its Toll
There is no greater beast than envy, no greater thief than fear, no greater enemy than greed, no greater predator than wrath, and no greater poison than bitterness – Matshona Dhliwayo
Gael comes close to Leona as she turns toward him, putting her hands on his shoulders. He moves his hands, encircling her waist. He smiles, declaring his happiness that Leona is giving him a second opportunity to love her. She leans forward and their foreheads touch. He brushes the hair from her face as we flashback to a young Gael and Leona sitting on a patio overlooking the beach where the sun is casting its last rays of sunshine as they kiss. Gael needs to kiss her again. And they do – as Leona wraps her arms around his neck, the kiss is lingering, soulful and passionate.
We next see a split screen of Leona and Gael next to Camila and David, who are also kissing. Camila feels that David kissing her back gives her hope. David tells her that he has always been sincere about what he feels in his heart, but Camila interrupts and asks that he please not mention “her.” David wasn’t going to mention her, he just wanted to say he wants to try and see if what they have can turn into something more special. Camila thanks him for seeing her as the woman she is and the love she has for him. If David is truly joyful about their kiss he forgot to transmit that to his face as his expression mirrors only uncertainty.
Matias dons a cute, frilly apron, which a smiling Jacinta helps fasten. He tells Jacinta she has him so in love he is going to help her make the quesadillas! Jacinta tries to stop him but he insists it might help him forget about his Tio Apolo and all he lived with him. He entwines her hands in his, sweetly saying she and Danilo are his greatest motivations. Then, he also adds Josefa is as well. He needs to make up for all the time they lost. Jacinta assures him he will make new memories with her.
Josefa is in her cavernous close, rooting through the drawers murmuring to herself asking where “it” is. She finds the gun and staring into the mirror declares only killing you will end the terror! There is a knock on the door and she puts the gun away. It is Aleno with steaming hot soup, a drink and a roll. Viewerville pleads she does not drink it!
Ramses does not seem to be feeling well and Columba (lies) telling him he is out of breath because they are locked up there; she prefers to be at a spa bronzing herself! Ramses assures her their situation is only temporary. He spouts that when his international allies pour on the pressure, everyone will beg him to continue with his business! He tells her that Josefa answered his call and she asked to see him; it’s time to move on their plan.
Diana
Leona tells Gael that their priority should be their children and trying to get closer to them. Gael agrees; he ruefully hopes Benja and AnaJu forgive him some day. Leona insists they try and not give up. Gael tenderly takes her hand and tells her she is his angel who appeared to make him a better man. Leona points out that Benja and AnaJu have much to assimilate but they need to believe that they are their priority and that they truly want to get to know them. Gael agrees and lists all they could do including taking them to where they were born. Gael also wants to strengthen his relationship with Kika. Gael fervently wishes Kika would become closer to Leona, it would help her so much! Gael then confides that Kika has been abused by Romeo; he asks her not to tell anyone else. Que asks a shocked Leona. She looks truly shaken uttering this is horrible! Gael adds that it is unforgivable and he doesn’t understand how the police have done nothing…but they don’t have enough evidence. Leona thinks Kika’s word should be enough (dream on!) They continue discussing Kika until Leona swears that she will be there for Kika.
AnaJu chases down Kika. Kika says she can’t face Romeo. She never should have gone after him and hopes AnaJu forgives everything she did to her; she is paying for it now.
Benja chases down Lola, confronting her about the videos. Lola has had enough with all the humiliation Romeo caused her. Benja tries to convince her what she is doing will hurt her but alas his pleas fall on deaf ears. She tells him a woman has the right to do whatever she wants with her body. He then pleads with her to leave Calixto but the only thing Lola wants to leave is that place! Calixto will help her fulfill all her dreams. And her worst nightmares viewerville silently laments.
Romeo marches back into class targeting Teo and Itzel with his cruel taunts. He threatens them but Teo points out all the witnesses in the room. Teo (rightly) accuses Romeo of being a rich coward who envies others’ happiness. With perfect timing, the policeman who works with Flor arrives and arrests Romeo then and there for suspicion of sexual assault. Romeo scathingly tells him they can’t do that because he is underage and on school property. But not so fast…the police have already talked to the school officials and the charge doesn’t require parental contact. The patio applauds the beginning of this teenage tyrant’s fall.
Jacinta wonders how Matias could fall in love with her when there are so many women that are more beautiful. Matias points out that beauty is not everything; she is very attractive but that is not what he likes best about her; he likes her simplicity, her sincerity and that she is real and true to herself. She is the woman he was looking for to fulfill his life and give him inspiration. As he embraces her in a loving kiss, Lola enters shrieking, chiding Jacinta for kissing her boyfriend and worrying about her! Jacinta needn’t bother explaining because she only came to tell her that this time she is leaving forever! (Good riddance!) That said, Jacinta looks emotionally devastated.
“Hermana” Gael says to Camila, glad to see she is a bit calmer. Camila grabs David’s hand, ensuring Leona sees. When Leona announces she is going to see Josefa, Camila interjects, asking Leona stop trying to take Camila’s place. SHE is Josefa’s daughter, not Leona! Leona assures that she just wants to see how Josefa is…she is her mother-in-law and her children’s grandmother…and her friend. Leona asks the confrontations stop. They should be reconciling, not fighting.
Diana
Leona goes to see Josefa (whose soup bowl is empty viewerville notes alarmingly). Leona wants and needs to be at peace with her. Leona lost her mother many years ago and has come to see Josefa as a mother figure. Josefa thanks her…and adds that she too wants to see her as a daughter. Leona hopes that they will have a love greater than what she already feels for Josefa. Leona gently says how important it is that Josefa spend time with Leona’s children. Josefa smiles that she would like to get to know Benja better; it’s evident that he is an extraordinary young man. Josefa dreams of a strong and true unity, that would give some meaning to Apolo’s passing. She then tells Leona that is why she is going to confront Ramses and make him pay.
David tells Gael that after Ramses’ threat, they must protect both their families, defending them with their lives if necessary. Gael tells him that he has nothing to do there any longer. It is best that David focus on his own family and Gael will focus on his. David retorts that the one who doesn’t understand is Gael who not only destroyed Leona’s life but also his (David’s). If Gael had had a bit of the courage that David had, none of this would be happening (Really David?) Gael agrees that he was weak then, but now he is a new man, stronger, and capable of defending his own. Gael then tells David to leave, but David refuses arguing that Benja is his nephew and he is now with Camila. Gael wonders if David truly likes his sister…since he has noticed how David looks at Leona. David explains that Leona is only a good friend and he will help her reconnect with her twins. Gael remarks that he is AnaJu’s and Benja’s father and Leona’s husband; David should not get into areas that he has no business in. David points out that HE was the one who has always helped Leona and HE was the one who brought the twins into the world! Gael ran like a coward and didn’t even care if they survived the fire. Gael justifies that he was only a child…and his father dominated him, he knew far too well as to what his father was capable of. David questions why Gael did nothing to stop Ramses…he had 15 years to do so and yet he did nothing! Gael reiterates that he is a different man now. David can have his relationship with Camila but needs to allow him to be the father and husband he should have been! David tells him that he will not be able to fight against his father and Calixto by himself…they should fight them together! Perhaps a less accusatory (and frankly less derogatory) approach might have aided David’s cause, but I digress.
Leona’s attempt to try to talk Josefa out of confronting Ramses is fruitless. Leona reminds her that an “eye for an eye” is not beneficial and will solve nothing. Josefa had never lost anyone at Ramses’ hands but now, she better understands Leona. The only way to stop living in fear is to kill him! An emotional Leona tries again to stop Josefa, but to no avail; Josefa has made her decision. Leona pleads they need her alive! Josefa stares speechlessly.
Columba wants a drink but Ramses reminds her she is pregnant. Ramses flashes back to holding and carrying AnaJu out of the hospital, leaving Benja behind as Gael screamed in frustration and torment. He tells Columba he has another heir…Marena’s other baby survived the fire and he has to find out who he is. Columba hisses that her baby will be his only heir but Ramses needs to know who else is a Torrenegro…and he needs more ammunition to make Leona suffer!
Benja and Jacinta are pleading with Lola to reconsider going with Calixto. Stoopid Lola insists “Cali” loves her. She doesn’t want to stay and end up like her mother. Further, no one will stop her from fulfilling her dreams. Benja asks Lola to respect her mother but his words reverberate, unanswered. As Lola ascends the stairs, leaving them behind, Jacinta calls out “Lola, hija” but Lola ignores her and finally steps out of view.
Diana
Leona tells Gael that his mother wants to confront his father. Gael thinks it’s too dangerous and won’t allow it! Leona adds that Josefa insinuated that the only way to stop Ramses is to kill him.
Josepha sits at her dressing table where glass cases house innumerable pieces of jewelry glistening in the light. Josefa takes out the lipstick that she thinks Apolo sent her (this is what we couldn't figure out what was in the box), applying it liberally as she smiles. Why she would even consider wearing it to see Ramses is indeed puzzling. She takes the gun out of the drawer, puts it in her purse, grabs her jacket and leaves with a determined look.
Gael goes to church and meets Ramses’ personal confessor. He asks if his mother is with him but the answer is no, he hasn’t seen her! Gael’s expression reflects his sheer panic.
Josefa and Ramses meet on the rooftop but this is hardly a lover’s rendezvous. “Ramses” she cries, pointing the gun at him saying he will disappear and stop causing so much pain. Ramses tries to soothe her saying he wanted to meet so they could talk peacefully. Josefa declares she will talk and then she will kill him! He mocks that she is crying for him but Josefa tells him she cries due to anger with herself. She knew it was a mistake to marry him but never imagined it was the worst of her life! Ramses tells her that she married him and enjoyed many luxuries. When he adds that she has never lacked for anything she retorts that she lacked love! She did have many materialistic things but her heart has always been empty because the only man she has ever loved is his brother! Ramses remarks they were the ideal couple; from the first time they met, he knew what he wanted. Why can’t she understand that he loves her? Josefa questions why he was in such a horrible business if family was so important. He wouldn’t have hurt his family, or cheated on her or killed his brother! Ramses argues that he did everything for them; if he was unfaithful it was because she distanced herself from him. (Viewerville collectively sighs in disgust) And if he killed Apolo it was because he was trying to destroy his marriage! Josefa spews that everything he says is a lie; he never did anything for them; it was all just for his ambition! Ramses tells her he dedicated himself to making sure they would be together forever and that they rule as the king and queen of an empire. Josefa cries that she and Apolo would have been very happy but Ran tells her to be realistic; love is not a fairytale. They need to be practical. They were the perfect couple. Josefa reproaches that he had a family and grandchildren who saw him as a hero and he destroyed everything. Ramses agrees and challenges her to shoot him right in the heart that will always love her. They decided to reject him and his life. Josefa hates him! Ram tells her that if she hates him that much then she should free herself of him…he reaches and takes the gun, putting it next to his heart as she holds it. Go ahead…She pulls the gun away from his chest as she aims.
Gael tells Leona that no, everything isn’t all right; his mother got away and probably contacted his father!
Diana
Back to the rooftop, Ramses crows to Josefa that she still loves him; that’s why she can’t pull the trigger! Josefa insists she isn’t like him. He wants them to return to what they used to be. He argues the world isn’t black and white; if they want to survive they need to make it truly theirs. Josefa asks him to leave and stay away from the family. As she asks Ramses to promise, Josefa seems to be faltering, losing her balance. Ramses stares knowingly telling her she forced him to do this. Not even with her lover dead could she resist putting on the lipstick; does she like the color he chose for her? Josefa tells him that Apolo gave her the lipstick but Ramses explains he exchanged the gift as he didn’t think it would have its desired effect; he asked Aleno to put a solution in the food and when she put in the lipstick there was a chemical reaction in her body. This hurts him more than it does her (such an old, stale line/lie) and urges she not fight it…it will only make it worse.
Leona is giving orders to the bodyguards; she needs to find Josefa and tells them to access all the area cameras. She calls Valerio and asks him for help; she suspects missing Josefa is with Ramses. AnaJu, Benja and Kika arrive, asking if they can help. When Leona deflects, AnaJu tells her if she wants to build a path to them, the lies must end. Leona admits their grandmother may have gone to confront Ramses.
As Josefa moans “no”, seemingly losing consciousness, her head lolling to the side, Ramses tells her to rest. He tells her she did everything she could. He is proud of her confronting him saying she was very brave. He will miss her and hates that she made him come to this. Josefa pleads for mercy. Ramses tells her that he does have mercy. He asks her to forgive him for doing what he did; for killing their memory and not knowing how to love her, for not being the man of her life. He kisses her forehead as the lights of the city burn and flicker in the background.
Everyone is gathered at the church, Gael, Camila, Matias. And, of course, David. Gael has no news unfortunately. Leona calls and he tells her the same. She tells him AnaJu, Kika and Benja are with her, but Oliver isn’t. Gael gets on speaker and tells them he swears with his life he will come up with a solution. Gael tells them he loves them with all his heart. AnaJu asks what if Ramses did something to her abuela? Gael answers that if so, there will be no one who can hold him back; he will make Ramses pay! Killjoy David comments that they should think positively; vengeance is not the answer. Leona agrees that they shouldn’t lose faith. Gael reiterates that if it’s the last thing he does, he will find their grandmother!
Diana
The kids suggest utilizing social media to help. AnaJu thinks Ramses might be in one of his safe houses. David advises that they proceed with caution…Ramses will probably want to hurt them (eyeroll please!). Leona agrees and suggests they make a list of all the safe houses. Kika then asks about Benja and how he is her brother. David suggests that Leona tell her everything. Leona then sits down and gently confesses to Kika that she is Marena, her father’s first love. And many years ago, they had twins…AnaJu and Benja.
Jacinta is (literally) spoon feeding Lola in her hospital bed. Jacinta can’t hide her tears and Flor asks her what’s wrong. Jacinta shares that Lola is gone forever. Flor tells Jacinta the cold, hard truth. Lola has chosen her path and Jacinta needs to stop begging her. Jacinta holds her daughter’s hand and caresses her cheek.
Lola arrives at Calixto’s; Jeremias is there. Jeremias is having doubts they can destroy Ramses (sigh). Calixto sidesteps telling him to concentrate on finding people to blackmail. Lola tells Cali she has done everything he told her to do and she needs something in return. She wants the breast augmentation surgery she has been asking for. Jeremias agrees “they” should be getting something for what they are doing. Esta bien Calixto says, agreeing to look into getting her the operation.
Leona knows that the kids will need time to adapt. Benja takes Kika’s hand, telling her she has siblings who will help. Leona stands between AnaJu and Benja and puts her arms around them. Kika thinks he’s corny but appreciates what he is saying. Leona states they will have each other to confront whatever life brings them. Kika apologizes to AnaJu for everything she has done and AnaJu forgives her since she is her hermana. The sisters hug as Benja hugs them both. Leona is overcome with emotion and joins in, her arms tightly and lovingly embracing them.
Diana
Thank you to the extraordinarily talented Rgv Chick and her kind and generous providing of dialog and important events.
Although Josefa's life is seemingly hanging by a thread, I am hopeful she is still alive.
I was buoyed by Gael and Leona's kiss which seemed very real to me. Camila and David's was a bit deceiving as David's uncertainty was only revealed by his expression.
Diana
Thanks, Diana, for the amazing recap.
I'll comment more later, but regarding to this: "She tells him a woman has the right to do whatever she wants with her body." Such hypocrisy! Lola is literally helping "Cali" to TRAFFICK women! Don't THEY have a right to do whatever they want with their body? Or is it just her? Double standards...
As for Leona saying Kika's word should be enough: really, now? Doesn't she ever watch telenovelas? Instead of this, I think governments, police departments, you get the point, should inform women of the procedure they have to follow, because let's be honest, they can't think clearly after such a traumatic event. And the days pass and the evidence is lost... And it's just Kika's word against Romeo's in this situation... It's just as Jarifa said in a previous page: they only care about evidence.
Dear Diana and Chickie, thank you for a great recap that caught every detail. We got a few answers to some questions.
Since the Camera focus was on that tube of lipstick, I thought Jo was somehow going to give Ram the kiss of death with a poisoned lipstick that she somehow concocted. . Instead, it was the catalyst for whatever Alino was sprinkling into everyone's food. Hmmmm. This is a complicated version of the wicked queen giving Snow White the poisoned apple. Will Jo survive ?
I wonder why Gael ended up at church . Did he go to his mother's mega closet and find her missing, and thought " I bet she went to church? "
I enjoyed the confrontation between Gael and David . Gael poured himself a drink without offering one to David which struck me as obvious game playing...my bar, my house, my wife, my kids......and why are you still here??? I am glad that Gael told David that he notices the way he looks at Leona, MI MUJER. Step back, buddy. I see you. Sometimes not only does teenage love last into adulthood, so does teenage rivalry. I am getting tired of David's self righteousness . He is coming off more and more holier than thou. He cant stand that Gael and Leona are married and living together in that house ....where he has almost moved in himself . It must be driving him crazy. He did make a good point that the two of them must unite to protect the family from Ram and Cal. Is Col still on his radar?
The split screen of Gael kissing Leona while David was kissing Camila showed a big contrast. Gael wins that round.
I am getting a little embarrassed for Gael as he pleads with Leona to resume their teen love affair wearing his heart not just on his sleeve but all over him .
Ram and Jo met on the same rooftop where Gael and Leona met after David revealed to Gael that Leona was Mar. I am still wondering why David told Gael that . Was it so that Gael would protect Leona , or did he hope to break them apart?
Jacinta and Matias are cute, but no kissing allowed in the school cafeteria kitchen.
Lola now wants breast augmentation. I logical reason to get I to human trafficking . This girl is an idiot . Those scenes of her with her father and her criminal sugar daddy are disturbing .
I guess we got another PSA...the police can arrest you at school.
Diana, I loved your asides in the parts with David. If he had stopped loving Leona, he wouldn't try to humiliate Gael at every opportunity. I never understood people who instead ofappreciating someone is trying to change only say things like ' you are in the gutter as you should have already done this'. What is then even the point of change if you are just going to throw person's mistakes at their face? David even has the stupidity to compare his situation with Gael's. The man has no self-awareness. In a way I'm surprised he is so good with kids as this job requires empathy and hisempathy is mostly limited to Leona and himself. I canunderstand it can be sort of selective, but it feels as though David is enjoying the fact he can now be horrible to Gael. And then he suggests they join forces? I'm sick of him at this point.
Josefa's commentconfused me a bit. It felt as though this was just another of those 'protagonist is forgiven' lines. On the one hand, I can see how Josefa's situation now makes her see Leona's side, but on the other, why would she have to 'understand her'? Stupid plan is just stupid, whether you can see a person's motives for it or not.
I do wonder what Lola's dreams are.Tat brest surgery? Or does she dream of being a human traficker's partner?
I wonder if Ramses himself actually believes all that nosense he is telling Josefa. When I read the bit where he says they should be the king and queen, I imagined him watching game of thrones.
Now Leona's son is in danger.I wonder if she remembers it's her impulsivity that might cost her dearly now.
This whole 'I'm willing to try' idea never sits well with me. It feels as though regardless of your willingness, you are still deceiving the other person becausefeelings aren't about 'trying'. They are either there or they aren't. Camila deserves better than a guy who is obsessive and would run to Leona if she so much as hinted she wanted to be with him.
Weirdo, thank you!
"Lola is literally helping "Cali" to TRAFFICK women! Don't THEY have a right to do whatever they want with their body? Or is it just her? Double standards..." is exactly right! WTH??
As you smartly pointed out, Lola's "logic" is twisted and completely illogical.
Speculation only, but I have a bad feeling about Lola's upcoming surgery, something she could have been spared if only she'd come to her senses.
Jacinta's trying to put on a brave face while her heart is breaking really got to me. There are so many ways to mourn the loss of a child.
Diana
Suaan, thank you so much!
"This is a complicated version of the wicked queen giving Snow White the poisoned apple" was excellent. Nothing cut and dried here, certainly! A convoluted series of machinations to harm Ramses' "beloved" Josefa.
Loved "Gael poured himself a drink without offering one to David which struck me as obvious game playing...my bar, my house, my wife, my kids......and why are you still here???" which had me chuckling away.
When you really think about it, how awkward would it be if David and Camila really became a couple. Seeing Gael with Leona every day would be an impossibility as David would see every day what he lost. Or, rather what he never had!
Diana
I'm glad you enjoyed the recap waterlily!
You are so right in that David takes every opportunity to belittle and criticize David and yet "he suggests they join forces?"
Your comment that David "...has no self-awareness. In a way I'm surprised he is so good with kids as this job requires empathy and his empathy is mostly limited to Leona and himself" was spot on. For one that has acted as a hero and indeed saved lives, he just cannot extricate himself from his "Leona is mine" mindset. His obsession has never abated and is as strong if not stronger than ever.
"Now Leona's son is in danger. I wonder if she remembers it's her impulsivity that might cost her dearly now". Excellent point. I wonder...
Diana
Diana, forgot to tell you that I loved the quote and the title .
Yes, one can mourn children who are truly gone from this earth as well as those who are still here but making bad, dangerous decisions.
And yes, if David does marry Camila and actually moves into the glass house, seeing Gael with Leona every day and every night will drive David crazy.
Right now , Leona looks sullen and dazed. She let Gael give her one of his signature kisses , but was she really feeling it ?
I listened to Whitney Houston's " I Want to Dance with Someone " this a.m. Maybe David and Gael should have a dance off for Leona. I'm sure Gael would win hands down.
I hope Jo survives. Ram is a demented demon.
Thank you, Diana, for your detailed recap. Hopefully, I will have time to watch it before tonight. : )
"Demented demon" fits Ramses to a "t" Susan!
Jarifa, I hope you are able to watch, especially Ramses and Josefa's rooftop showdown.
Diana
I understand Paula's feelings after the snub over the jewelry but I didn't like seeing her break the chain on that invisible necklace and throw it on the floor. But nothing that happened at all that day in any way justified Imelda's spoiled brat behavior and her refusal to have relations with Fernando.
What do those two even see in each other? How can he miss how declassee she really is?
Rogelio is an idiot. That madman stabbed him in the back then comes back to try to kill Paula at the wedding so how can he give any credence to anything he says? A child can see that he's off the rails.
None of which will matter to the ultimate Monster In Law. Seeds of doubt are already there. YEESH!
Urban, ITA that Rogelio is an idiot. Who would believe anything that Òscar would say? Is it because Óscar is a guy? Does masculinity trump crazy? They might have made Rogelio handsome, easy and breezy but I cannot accept STUPID.
I still find it difficult to tell who is who here. What's the name of that reasonable guy who tried talking sense into Rogelio? I can't tell those brothers apart after four episodes. If Paula and Rogelio is the end game, maybe I should stop watching already because I can tell already that I'll end up hating him. But it does amuse me that Imelda's tantrums get ignored. 'you should have consulted me first' and 'odio esos numeritos' were my favourites. So Oscar is crazy but scheming guy. And here I thought he was just crazy. But maybe scheming is too generous, given that Rogelio seems to believe anyone except his wife.
Btw are there many families like that in Morelia? I don't know why, but I could believe this being true about Turkey and I know it's a telenovela, but I'm curious as to how realistic it is to find a family with a matriarch like this there.
Well, I see we have gone into the pushing away part of this novela pretty quickly. Maybe this is a PSA about marrying someone right after you meet him\her. Marry in haste ; repent in leisure .
The young actress who had a night with young master looks familiar , but I cannot recall where I saw her. Maybe in one of the Vencer shows.
The maid who is always lurking and eavesdropping played a maid in an Azteca telenovela about nine years ago. She was the comic relief and talked very fast .
This show is all about human trafficking , and I just had on the local news and was shocked . A guy wearing a fake security shirt was caught trying to take a 14 year old out of a mall .We have been wondering how Ram and Cal and Col got all those poor girls. It is so easy to get a shirt or uniform that looks official.
I only saw some of this but it seems Rogelio went from too good to be true to nasty and suspicious in seconds flat. Is this a record??
"Rogelio is an idiot. That madman stabbed him in the back then comes back to try to kill Paula at the wedding so how can he give any credence to anything he says? A child can see that he's off the rails" is exactly right Urban!
Susan, Valentina Buzzurro (Blanca) played Gemma in several of the Vencer series. She is adorable! There are quite a few Vencer alums. Arantza Ruiz (Cecelia) and Francisco Pizana (Fernando) are others. Julia Urbini (the real life love of Francisco who appeared with him on caer en tentacion) is due to appear as well.
Diana
There certainly are many mothers and suegras from hell in other novelas; I have seen many. As for ones who are as controlling as Martina they do exist. Think of Ana Joaquina in EPDA who brainwashed her son into entering the priesthood and the monstrous Ursula of YNCELH who gaslit both of her children into mental illness with the help of an unscrupulous doctor and lawyer.
And yes, there are such monsters in the real world.
Forgot to mention this earlier but loved the switch Paula made on the dress. Unfortunately the coincidence of the attempt on her life bought into Martina's thing about bad luck (Paula's, not her own).
Thanks, Diana and Rgv Chick. That was great! I just assumed Josefa had died so after reading this and the comments I have hope. And now we know what gift was switched, but that seemed like a big box for a lipstick!
David seems to be trying to love Camila. Not the most ideal situation. And she’s just not nice to Leona.
Susan, I loved your comment about not being in her closet so check out the church! She does spend a lot of time in that closet!
Matias is so sweet. He will be good for Jocenta. She needs to let Lola go. I’m sure Calixto will get some back street surgeon who will mess up the breast job.
Definitely thought Gael and Leona’s kiss was better than David and Camila.
Hope they discover Josefa was poisoned. And have the cook arrested!
Liz
I enjoyed the events before the wedding. Loved that the jewelry gifts caused Paula to change into that gorgeous dress.
I enjoyed Imelda’s tantrums and getting told off by Martina! Be careful what you wish for!
Rogelio was a big disappointment. I can’t believe he listens to the crazy that stabbed him and his mother! Paula told him the police had arrested Oscar, her aunt was threatened, but he still is mad at her for not telling. He should be giving thanks she is alive.
I think Paula should be with the brother that has asthma! A much nicer guy!
Liz
Liz, ha...Jo's closet reminds me of walking into Banana Republic .
Daniel has been perfecting that signature kiss since he started in telenovelas at about 20 in Venezuela . If it's not broke, don't fix it. My guess is that his style started when he was a teen. Maybe he played a lot of spin the bottle. He's a natural . David needs to take notes.
Not much to add, except: what is Josefa thinking, confronting Ramses on her own??
Also, David is getting worse every day. Showing up at the house while Leona was with the kids and talking with Gael on the phone was another WTF moment for me. He says he was there for Camila. Then go BE with Camila, give Leona some space to breathe. Benja might ne your nephew, but he's Jacinta's son and you don't see her in the glass house 24/7, do you?
The guy has a lit of nerve blaming Gale for everything when only a few months ago he almost died drowned by one of Ramses' goons (not even Ramses himself) and it took Leona and Apolo to save his sorry life
Ughh, I just can't with him anymore.
I'm sad to say, but Leona seems more interested to stay with Gael for the kids than for himself. I don't like it.
Adriana, say it,girl. You hit the nail right in the head . Leona lets Gael hold her and kiss her , but all we hear her say is " the kids, the kids, the kids." I didn't hear any " I love yous." I am feeling really sorry for Gael as he pours his heart out to Leona 24\7 , and Leona stares at him and talks about the kids....no smile , no sparkle in the eyes. Gael looks more stoned in love than ever, while Leona just looks stoned. ...stone cold ...brrrr.Meanwhile, David is constantly buzzing around and Leona looks tres pissed whenever she catches him with Camila.
Liz, I'm hoping Josefa is alive. It would be too horrible to have her and Apolo die in the space of a few days!
Liz, I'm with you in liking Matias! "I’m sure Calixto will get some back street surgeon who will mess up the breast job" - ooohh, that sounds like a plot line that would fulfill our fear as to what might befall her. Spectacular speculation!!
Adriana, thank you! Your David comment "The guy has a lit of nerve blaming Gale for everything when only a few months ago he almost died drowned by one of Ramses' goons (not even Ramses himself) and it took Leona and Apolo to save his sorry life" made me smile. He keeps hanging around and trying to insinuate himself into every discussion. He's not family for heaven's sake, he is just hanging round and round...
Adriana, I can't say I disagree with you in that Leona wants to stay for her children, not for Gael. I keep hoping but...
Susan, "Gael looks more stoned in love than ever, while Leona just looks stoned. ...stone cold ...brrrr". Ouch, but again, I can't say you are wrong!
Diana
So, it looks like Ignacio and Irma are ready to put their plan for revenge for into effect with Ignacio’s family into high gear since they are the owners of the new transportation company which will be competition for Rogelio’s family’s company and have bought a farm next to Villa Morelia (is that where Martina lives?) which, wherever it is, will be too close for comfort.
I was unable to see a good portion of the episode because of tornado warning PSA’s one more time, so I am asking if we ever found out what Rogelio’s family did to Ignacio’s family that he and his mother are so hell-bent on revenge.
Sure hope that Josefa isn’t dead. She should have just shot Ramsés when she had the chance before he launched into his act.
Thanks Jarifa! I haven't even seen Irma yet so I guess I'm watching less than I thought...
Diana
Jarifa, I hope you will be able to watch this episode . We have been getting those tornado , severe storm warnings occasionally , too. Scary .
Can't wait to see tonight's episode .
Nice moment with Leona and kids.
Last 3-4 episodes almost ruined this telenovela for me with Apolo' s death and unsuccessful revenge plans.
I had some time tonight so here are some some “Highlights from the Couch”
Martina continues being *itchy.
Paula is living at the local hotel. Rogelio is not answering her calls because he is frustrated that she doesn’t understand the role and image of their family in the society of Morelia. After the wedding attack, it turns out that the family business lost 5 million pesos due to a lack of confidence from the public. Ignacio and his mother rejoice in the bad news. Rogelio refuses to take on any new partners until stock price improves.
Marco seems a good guy but refuses to be pressured by Blanca, who wants to marry him into anything. He has been under enough pressure from his mother: get good grades or work at company. Marco saves Blanca from an attacker. Micaela reminds Blanca that she and Marco are not equals but has no idea that they text all night long.
Martina forgets all about Fernando’s birthday until the day after. Fernando is getting no action from his wifey.
Ignacio puts the moves on Cecilia at a bar. He invites himself along when Cecilia goes to eat supper with Paula and tries to insinuate himself into their wanting to start a music school. He leaves. Rogelio arrives to talk with Paula since she has not been answering his calls.
Ignacio continues to push his support for the music school.
Rogelio is not happy when he finds out that a guy was with the girls and paid the bill. He tries to explain how bad it looks that Paula is a married woman out at night alone, etc. Paula decides that she would rather go back to Mexico City with Cecilia than live like he wants her to in Morelia. Paula and Cecilia catch a bus that night.
Martina calls a lawyer to set up a divorce for Rogelio. The lawyer delivers the papers to Paula who goes to see Rogelio at his office. He knows nothing about it and blames his mother but reminds Paula that she needs to live by Morelia societal norms. She is not having it until he can separate from his mother and Morelia society.
Rogelio mentions having a helicopter!
A young paparazzi has photos of Paula out alone at night without her husband. Martina supposedly pays him off so the photos are permanently deleted and threatens him with never working again if he tries a similar stunt.
Martina welcomes her new neighbor: IRMA. Uh oh!
Rogelio tells Martina off about the divorce. He goes to see Paula and they reconcile and return to Morelia. Martina is angry she is back as well as Imelda. Paula tells Rogelio she is planning on working. She gets the job! Martina is not pleased.
Got a phone call here and missed something about a sexual predator that Rogelio was investigating ??? Is it the person who hired Paula?
Paula asks Rogelio if he ever had a great love before her since he was considered to be the #1 bachelor in Morelia. We see a woman in LA. Looking at old photos.
Jarifa, thank you for the excellent Highlights from the Couch. I saw little but you filled in all the gaps.
I saw the divorce papers being served in the preview after last night's episode and was flabbergasted Rogelio filed so quickly.Thank you for explaining it was Martina who was behind it. No surprise there.
Martina forgot Fernando's birthday? Mother of the year for sure! :)
Nice to see Paula and Rogelio reconciling but if he really loves her why is he bringing her back to the house of horrors??
I can't answer your question about the predator but did see the woman with a suitcase packing pictures of Rogelio. Hmmm...
Diana
Diana, thanks for clarifying that those were photos of Rogelio.
Rogelio is bringing Paula back because, as he tearfully explained, he is torn between taking care of his mother and the family and his love for her. Okay . . .
Martina tried to make it up to Fernando by giving him his father’s 1980 collection is some kind of coins the next day.
Weirdo: Will any of the Good Guys be among the living ?
It seems Crazy Ramses & his Crew will massively increase the Body Count in the closing stretch.
Steve Boudreaux
Gracias, >Jarifa. Just finished watching On Demand.
Martina is certainly not above the most underhanded, vicious -- and illegal -- means to make Rogelio's life as unhappy as possible. This is a theme called If I'm Not Happy Nobody Can Be Happy. We're also in a worse version of small-town thinking if there is any credence to anything being said about Morelia. And another crooked lawyer to boot.
Imelda's motive for marrying Fernando is obviously to get to Rogelio. It's two days later and she still hasn't consummated the marriage and -- unlike Elena of Perdona -- I don't think she has any past trauma or similar excuse. If Fernando didn't have it in for his brother I could almost feel sorry for him.
How old is Marcos supposed to be? Martina treats him like a child. It looks like she doesn't love any of her sons.
I think the predator is the guy who interviewed Paula. Rogelio was researching him on the internet. Paula didn't see the suspicious look on this dude's face when she left his office.
Does anyone else think that Diana Bracho is looking a bit like Bette Davis in this series?
The family is united again (and many "what?" moments) - Part 1/2
AnaJu, Kika and Benja hug. Leona joins the hug as well. Kika thinks back to Romeo abusing her and Columba acting like it's no big deal. She tells the rest about Romeo. Leona hugs her.
Colu asks Ramsés if he killed Josefa. Ram gets angry and tells her about being his lover, not his wife. Romeo pops up (what?) and Ramsés starts hitting him for abusing Kika. Columba apparently has no problem with what Romeo has done, because she just stands there. Ramsés threatens him, you either help with Josefa or you will cease to exist. Romeo is scared of Ram, so he accepts. This guy has underestimated Gael.
Itzel tells her parents she has questions (dudas, usually used as "doubts") about sex.
Leona has a bad feeling about Josefa. She starts crying and has something like a panic attack. David calms her down. Leona thinks of her children and calms down entirely.
Just then Ramsés video-calls Leona (who's with David) and Gael (who's with Camila and Matías at church). He calls them traitors, they ask him what did he do to Josefa, he starts saying that he wished things were like back then blah blah. Leona volunteers to swap places with Josefa. Ram shows her (Josefa) on camera. He says that he wants all his money back to let Josefa live, so she ISN'T dead! Leona promises that she'll transfer 50% of the money now and the other 50% after he lets Josefa go. Ram accepts. Gael is screaming to him that he hates him.
After the video-call, David tries to calm down Leona and Matías does the same to Camila. Gael says he'll kill Ramsés.
Colu asks Ram if they'll give Josefa the antidote. We don't hear his answer. We just see him take some pills.
Itzel, Teo and their parents talk about protection, how it's both male and female responsibility etc.
The three siblings arrive at home, where Leona and David are. Leona transfers 50% of the money to Ramsés. He calls them, he claims he gave the antidote to Josefa, but he wants the other 50% now. They start shouting at him but nope, 50% or she'll never return. Leona transfers the other money. (Did NO ONE think about asking to see Josefa first? It could have been a trick!) Ram is satisfied with the money, but says he'll release Josefa when he wants, since they're his marionettes and hangs up. Gael, Cami, Matías and David will go to search for Josefa themselves. Leona wants to go too, since she thinks it's her fault this happened and we get a miracle: Gael and David actually AGREE on something! Wow! They say she should stay here. David adds "your (plural, Leona and Gael's) children need you". Everyone else leaves.
Consuelo, Cristobal and their kids talk about Itzel being non-binary. She (they?) uses gender neutral pronouns.
Leona is praying with Óliver and Danilo about Josefa. Kika and AnaJu join too. (A lot of praying in this novela. This got me thinking that atheism, agnosticism or any religion except from Christianity is almost never depicted in telenovelas.)
The family is united again (and many "what?" moments) - Part 2/2
It's the next day.
AnaJu makes some posters about some demonstration in a collage that has something to do with Romeo (huh? Did I miss something? Where did this come from?) Kika enters. AnaJu says that while she was praying, she thought that if Josefa returns, she'll stay here. Kika is happy with that and says she shouldn't leave. They hug. (I'm glad Kika is watchable now, unlike Lola, who's less watchable than ever.)
Ramsés is taking more pills and tells Columba he wants to see AnaJu, she's the only person he truly loves in this world. Columba notices the "only" part.
Gael, Cami, Matías, Leona and David say they've put an alert for Josefa, so if anyone sees her they'll tell them. Gael is upset at the whole situation so Leona goes to comfort him. David gives both Leona and Gael a death stare (ugh).
Consuelo's family has made something like a small spa area in their house for Consuelo.
There's a small feast at Flor's house for her return. Silvano comes too, Clara freaks out. He has a bag, he wants to explain to Lili what his job is.
Romeo hits on Columba, what? Colu tells him she's too much of a woman for him (oh, so she doesn't care he's a minor or that he abused her daughter? Oh wait, it's Colu. She doesn't care.) There's a knock at Romeo's door (why is Columba there?) It's Rom's dad. He wasn't expecting him.
More product placement. Leona and David have a conversation, FF--> After David leaves, Leona sees something and runs to find Josefa!!! They hug.
Josefa hugs her children. She says she never thought she'd see them again.
Ramsés takes more pills. AnaJu goes to see him and tells him she can't look at him the same and that he's despicable. Ramsés looks hurt.
Kika, Óliver and Danilo enter and hug Josefa. The Torrenegros (+Leona +David) realise that AnaJu is missing.
Gael grabs a security guard and asks him about AnaJu. He thinks back to him watching over AnaJu when she got a text from Ramsés "I need to see you. Come alone." She told the guard something like "I'm going to the bathroom" and slipped. That idiot guard! Gael screams at him.
(No sound from this point on, only mediocre subtitles.)
Romeo's father knows about Kika's denunciation. Rom says he left no evidence behind. Columba, who was overhearing this, starts hitting Rom, slaps and pushes him (what?). She even hits him straight in, um, more intimate parts. Rom's father KNOWS her and says that he pays for Ramsés and Columba's "business" or something like that. Colu stops hitting Rom.
AnaJu's and Ramsés's conversation continues. AnaJu grabs her phone to call the cops, Ram grabs her and says that she betrayed him too. He lets her go, she leaves. Ramsés starts crying!
And with Ramsés crying, we have the Fin del Capítulo.
Thanks, Jarifa, loved your Highlights from the Couch. And they filled in some blank spaces for me.
But why would Rogelio bring Paula back to that house of horrors! Especially after his mother sent divorce papers. I’m glad Paula didn’t just blindly sign them. But Rogelio needed to be firmer with his mother.
Marco seems to be in college, but not very interested in his studies. I predict he’ll give Martina her first grandchild.
Martina didn’t recognize Irma. I wonder if Martina’s husband did something to cheat Irma’s husband.
I love the servants! Not usually aware of what they’re saying but at least they have fun. Martina and Imelda are so over the top that so far they bring a smile to my face! That might not last as they’ll probably get more determined to get rid of Paula.
Liz
Weirdo,
Your amazing recap explained everything with crystal clarity. Loved “The Torrenegros (+Leona +David)”
“A lot of praying in this novela. This got me thinking that atheism, agnosticism or any religion except from Christianity is almost never depicted in telenovelas” was insightful and certainly true of any telenovela I’ve ever seen.
What an ordeal Josefa endured! But I was so happy she survived although the physical and psychological torture she endured was evident and reduced her to a shell of her formal self.
Romeo trying to seduce Columba was pathetic. I did enjoy Columba pummeling the stuffing out of him though! I have to say though that Romeo’s father was very scary. If he and Ramses end up at odds, it would be a very fair fight.
We’ve seen that AnaJu is Ramses weakness and he loves her (in his own sick way). But his hysterical crying and devastation over AnaJu’s rejection was just over the top. It seems whatever Columba substituted in his pills are taking some kind of toll. But hardly enough.
Speaking of crying, Gael has to put away his handkerchief and stiffen his spine. Where is the impassioned man who took Romeo to task? Where is the hero who singlehandedly scaled the wall attempting to rescue the kidnapped women? He’s there but he can’t get out of his own veil of tears. Basta! Be the galan you need to be.
“David gives both Leona and Gael a death stare (ugh)”. Exactly Weirdo! And further, Leona definitely gave him a little apologetic look! David needs to back down and just go away.
The only bright spot was Flor’s welcome home feast. The table laden with enough food to feed an army! I wish there had been time to incorporate Flor into more of the plot.
Diana
Weirdo, thank you so much for bringing us every detail of this worryfest.
I am starting to feel sorry for the young actor who is playing Romeo. We could start a list of everyone who has come at him ...Gael's head on sudden charge being the scariest ...up until Col had her spike heeled boot right on his bits and pieces. Yikes .
I always watch the chess pieces . It was interesting to note that as the three siblings sat together on the sofa , Leona was sitting right across from them. ...and ... Hey! Guess where David was ...yes, you win....standing right behind her. I saw the disgusted look David cast Leona as she moved to sit behind Gael and put her hands on his shoulders. Diana, I , too, saw the little smirk Leona gave David. Was David still there when she she sympathetically clutched Gael to her chest to comfort him as he cried? If so, that must have left the lad simmering . I am dedicating The Police song " I'll Be Watching You". to David .." Oh, can't you see you belong to meeee..." The triangle tightens and twists.
David was right there for Leona's panic attack. Captain Physical Therapist to the rescue. ( Try to picture David in a cape.) I thought Angelique might really hyperventilate.
Well it's another excuse for another night for Leona . " I can't ...my mother in law is missing ,"
Ram's interactions with Anaju are disgusting. Ram is a monster incapable of love .
I think the actor playing Romeo's father was in "Desalmada"with Marlena ( Col) . Was Col afraid of him ? He must be buying what Ram has been selling . Now we know why Romeo is the way he is. By the way, what happened to Romeo with the police?
I am confused . Does the family know now that Ram had Alino put something into their food ?
PSA...the birds and the bees.
They like to show us food .
Today's word.....maldito. Gael repeated it several times for us. He gave us a lot if crazy eyes episode. Do not mess with a guy's mom. Poor dude has had no time to put the moves on Leona, but he did get to show his macho skills by grabbing the inept security guard and giving him a good shove. You had one job, guy.
Thanks, Weirdo, that was great.
I was proud of AnaJu. She really told Ramses off. And his feelings were hurt! What did he expect.
Loved the Romeo and Columba scene. I’ve seen the guy that is playing his dad in a couple of other telenovelas. He’s been a good guy and a bad guy. Looks like a bad guy in this one. I guess Romeo was raised being aware of his dad’s business dealings with Ramses.
It looks like a heart attack might end Ramses’ reign of terror. Except I think he’s rubbing his right arm, I always thought it was the left side.
I hope Josefa remembers what Ramses told her so they can fire the cook!
Liz
I saw the promo for the new Vencer. I think I saw Gabe Soto and the gray haired guy from Herencia and the cop from Invincible . I didn't recognize any of the actresses.
I turn this show on at 8. Does it actually start at 7 ?
They seem to be depicting Rogelio as a spoiled Mama's boy and his wife as a free spirit.
Urban , I agree that Diana ( Martina) is channeling Bette Davis.
It's a bit early but as has been the case recently, the upcoming week is an abbreviated one with Amor airing only on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Adriana and Weirdo I am hoping we can each take one night. I would prefer to do Monday but can do either Tuesday or Wednesday if that works better for you. Please let me know and thank you.
Diana
Susan, double episodes of Eternamente ran this week (except for Wednesday) starting at 7 pm Eastern.
Urban, looks like Eternamente is running double epis through Wednesday next week. No show on Thursday and Friday, a one hour show from 7-8 ET. At least that is what is showing now.
Diana
Based on what Univision has aired for the promos, Vencer la culpa is having its debut Tuesday August 1 at 9:00 ET. Gabe Soto is the villain and Matias Novoa the galan! I can't wait.
Tierra Esperanza is starting the same night at 10:00 ET!
This could change but that's what I saw last night.
Diana
Thanks for your entertaining recap. You have a way with words! : )
Best moment of the night: Columba doing a job on Romeo’s privates with her stiletto heel. Too bad his father stopped her.
Saddest moment of the night: Ramsés on his knees begging Ana Ju for her forgiveness but unwillingly to do what it takes. He is just another broken old psycho geezer.
Isn’t it odd that 2 of Ramsés’ children ended up lame or partially lame with him being directly responsible for Matías’ situation and it being a mystery why Camila’s horse threw her. Was it due to Calixto? If it was, was it at Ramsés’ direction?
Urban, good call on the Bette Davis look.
Liz, no, Martina did not recognize her new neighbor Irma. That being said, Irma mentioned either early in this episode or in the last that she had not been back to Morelia in 40 years. This plan for revenge could be decades in the making. Who knows?
I just have to add:
Martina’s plaid tweedy earth tone outfit for the weddings made her look like she was going out on a fox hunt. I bet she had on a pair of “sensible” shoes.
I have noticed that Gael always wears a red string bracelet. I wonder if he will give them to Leona and his kids for protection at some point.
P.s. Autocorrect prefers to call Gael ...Carl .
This and Perdona have me wondering about the weather in Mexico. Martina looks like she's dressing for fall while all the younger characters are garbed for spring and summer. Elena in the previous series wore long sleeves and cable-knit sweaters that made me cringe in comparison to the spring and summer dresses worn by women of comparable age.
Considering how beastly swampy my city is this is making me crazy.
Hi Diana. I'd rather take Tuesday's episode - Wednesday is a good day for me to recap.
Weirdo, thank you - Tuesday is yours!
Adriana, let me know which day works for you, Monday or Wednesday.
Diana
Thank you, Weirdo, your writing is always very entertaining.
I actually don't feel sorry for Josefa, all she managed to do with her quest to confront Ramses was almost get herself killed and get Leona to give him a lot of money.
Ramses is still taking the pills Calixto switched, I wonder if his black heart will stop beating before he's done ruining his entire family.
AnaJu is another idiot for going to see tito alone. Sure, she managed to get away alive, but she cost that poor guard his job.
Oh, should I get started on the ever present, why is he still here, please go away, David? Of course he can help Leona through her panic attack and OF COURSE he knows a guy who knows about poison (eye rooollll) - whatever it takes to justify his presence by Leona's side. And she keeps looking at him with sad, wistful eyes, makes me wanna throw up.
Consuelo and her family sure are modern and open minded, talking about sex and being non-binary and whatnot.
I'm looking forward to Josefa gerting to know Benja (because he DID go back home as opposed to his annoying uncle).
And I actually want Gael to give Leona some tough love and ask her to make up her mind already... Yeah, keep dreaming, why don't I?
"I'm looking forward to Josefa gerting to know Benja (because he DID go back home as opposed to his annoying uncle)" had me grinning away Adriana. To be honest, David is truly getting on my nerves as well, especially as he is glowering at any interaction between Leona and her HUSBAND! Ack.
I am perturbed at Gael who needs a fire lit under him. Stop crying, get up and get going, be the galan we want you to be...
Diana
Hi Adriana and Diana, It seems Daniel is trying very hard to make Gael a strong character , but the writers seem to be trying very hard to emasculate Gael.
I have been trying to figure out how long Gael and Leona have been married ,so I went back and watched some episodes . David revealed to Gael that Leona was Mar soon after the wedding . Then Gael and Leona immediately had the rooftop confession . Then, all the secrets started tumbling out...the twins found out who their bio parents were. Everyone found out that Leona is Mar ..except Ram, Col, and Cal. Does Camila know that David is Adrian , the third part of the teenage triangle , so he has been in love with Leona for fifteen years,?
I noticed that David and Gael have a lot in common . ...besides being crazy in love with Leonamar, They are both devoted sons and brothers . They are both good with kids. They are both protective of those they love. They can both give and take a punch.
Oh , most importantly , Gael and David each raised one of Leona's twins.
I can kind of see David's view when Gael reminds him that he is the twins ' father. David saved those babies and raised one of them . It's complicated, but I want Gael , Leonamar , and the twins to have a HEA. I have enough reality . I want HEA.
Susan, I'm faulting the writers for making Gael a bit spineless...
I do believe David did tell Camila that he is Adrian a few episodes ago. Now she knows how deep his relationship with Leona truly runs...
You make an excellent point that both Gael and David are good sons and brothers. David did indeed save Benja's life. But David is too controlling and is becoming even more so! He is dismissive and contemptuous of Gael and Leona's relationship, continually brining up Gael's failure to defend Leona when he was a teenager under his father's stringent control.
I hope they end up together but Gael is going to have to be a lot stronger and more assertive. And even if that happens, I'm not at all certain Leona will allow herself or want to love Gael again.
Diana
Great recaps all around!
I really giggled at was it Susans comment about Josefa being in her master closet all the time lol
She really is either in the company or in her closet.
I really like the change of heart Kika had and how she is developing now. I do feel a bit sad that we havent seen much of Oliver lately. Id like some more sibling bonding moments between the whole of them, the twins and the Colu/Gael children. It would definitely lighten the mood.
The Flor and Silvano storyline seems to only get a few 'lines' each week. I really like their story so Im bummed that it hasnt gotten much screentime. We get more Camila/David/Leona than I could ask for. I kind of want both David and Leona to end up alone but it seems that theyre really pushing them togther. Well I guess they do fit, both are obsessed with something and cant seem to stop..
Gael has been a bit spineless and whiny lately but I still prefer him anyday over David and Leona. He is becoming a bit too good of a character for Leona.. She never appreciates him. I know they have their past and obviously she is still hung up on it but I dont think she'll ever start seeing the man he is today. In this case he'd be better off alone or with another woman, who supports him. I like them togheter though so we'll see.
