I'm currently watching the Greek remake of the Turkish Dizi, "Παγιδευμένοι" (Trapped). I've already gotten hooked and it's just Episode 3. I'll keep an eye on the recaps here to see what they changed. Thanks to dondi for recapping this!
Hi Weirdo. That's interesting. We are missing recaps from first 2 weeks or so. That's when we had 2 hr. eps every night. Too much to recap every day. We might have made some comments. We are a very tiny group.
Quote for Turkish ep 17: "To find the right path, you just need to get lost."- Italo Calvino
Ilgaz confesses he’s no longer a DA and Ceylin blows up. She knows how much he loved being a DA. Ilgaz says he will get a license to be a lawyer. She doubts he can do it. You will have to overlook a lot of things, she says, you can’t even tell a lie. And who will you represent, she asks. You, he replies. Ceylin says this is a burden for her and asks, why are you sacrificing yourself for me? He’s firm in his decision.
Ozlem calls Eren in a panic. Tugce is missing and she has no idea where she is. Calm down, Eren tells her, Tugce is at my house. She was there on the street with her suitcase when I left the house this morning. She told me you knew. Ozlem warns, you’ll get in trouble if you believe everything she says. [welcome to the world of parenting a teenager, Eren.]
Ceylin doesn’t want Ilgaz to represent her. I don’t know how you’ll do it but get your job back. You were where you belonged when I met you. Don’t do this to me. She walks away from him. I’m leaving you with your decision, she says.
Yekta asks Seda for an update. Have we destroyed Ceylin’s reputation? We’re working on it, Seda replies. Seda has the feeling that Cuneyt doesn’t like her. Yekta laughs and says, he’s jealous of you. She asks if there’s anything she should know. Then, she says maybe she was just misunderstanding.
They cut Seda asking Ezge (the girl who said Neva was on the list) to find info on Cuneyt. Is there someone in his personal life? I suspect it might be someone from the court. She eagerly agrees. Seda says, let it stay between us.
Ceylin is about to board a bus. She decides to buy a car.
That night Gul has questions for Ceylin. Will you come home? You got married, Ceylin. Married! We found out by chance. We said nothing. You brought your husband here. I don’t get it. If you’re married, why aren’t you with your husband? I don’t have any answers, Ceylin replies. Then why did you marry him, Gul asks. I had to do it at the time, Ceylin fires back, I had to do it! Gul asks, so what are you going to do now? It’s the middle of the night and he’s downstairs asking about you. Ilgaz is here? Ceylin goes to meet him outside.
He takes her hand and says let’s go for a walk. I wish I was as self-sacrificing or heroic as you think I am, he tells her. You were a factor in my decision. But it’s my decision. Maybe this is a mistake of a lifetime. It will be my downfall and I’ll regret it. But whether I’m making a mistake or not, stay with me. Take my hand… and let’s make a promise. Stay with me, by my side. He kisses her hand, then walks away.
Eren shows Tugce her room. He asks her why she left her house last night. She realizes he spoke to Ozlem. He wants to know where she spent the night.
Flashback. Ugh, she’s in on Serdar’s job. He tells the group the plan is simple, we get the merch and deliver it. We will switch it out in places they can’t check to erase any connection to us. As of tonight, we can’t be seen together. Once the last link has the goods, we get the money.
Cinar understands but asks, where are we going to hide it for two days? The arrival and delivery dates are different. Serdar explains this is where one of them will have to take a risk. One of them will have to hide the merch at their place for two days. Somewhere no one will suspect.
Cinar balks, I’ve already gotten into trouble because of you. Merve says she can’t because she lives with her parents. My mom goes through everything. Tugce volunteers—I’ll find a safe house. Serdar asks where. Don’t ask questions, she replies, I’ll tell you later. End flash.
Tugce tells Eren she was with friends—I was upset and stayed with them until I calmed down. Eren accepts this.
Ceylin and Ilgaz spend the night in separate houses, thinking about each other.

Gul sees the uncle from across the street. She asks about Zumrut. Kidney stones, he replies, I’m picking her up from the hospital now. Oh, and good news! She’s pregnant. A surprise we didn’t expect. Gul panics. She closes the door and Aylin is right behind her. Is she pregnant? No, Gul lies, she had kidney stones. Aylin says she heard. I heard about the kidney stones and pregnancy. Gul says don’t even think about it. Osman walks in and asks if something is wrong. It’s Zumrut, she replies, she’s pregnant. Oh boy.
Ilgaz attends the license ceremony. No one from his family is there to support him. He takes the oath and gets his robe. Then he sees Ceylin at the door. He goes to her. Welcome to the ranks, counselor, she tells him.
Merdan grabs a hold of Seda before she gets into her car. He warns her, stop stalling. Get the answers I want and you’ll be free. The case won’t be resolved for a long time, she replies, and I don’t plan on sticking around longer. Yekta will keep making trouble after I leave. Ceylin will keep fighting him. This is the only way to get him to believe me.
Cut: Merdan tells her she doesn’t have to work for Yekta or fight against Ceylin. She’s innocent. He’s sure because he can tell a killer by looking in their eyes. If I say she’s not, then she’s not. Seda answers, you told me to get close to Yekta. I’m doing what I can, otherwise I can’t be near them. Merdan warns to be careful—don’t drown in the water, running away from the fire. She tells Merdan fear is a valuable feeling and asks him, but why are you afraid? He has no answer.
Ilgaz thanks Ceylin for coming. I couldn’t miss it, she says, you look very good. Now that you have your license and robe, you have to pay your taxes, your share of the bar tab, the office rent, buy tea and sugar, and then you can be on your way. I’ll help you if you get stuck. I bought a car and have a little money left over.
Ilgaz says he thought she would give him a desk at her office. Only if you admit you’re a rookie, she replies, learn from a pro… and that’s me. I wonder what tricks you could teach me, he says.
They are interrupted by someone who asks Ceylin, are you here to appeal? She has no idea what he’s talking about. You didn’t get the notification, he asks. You were under investigation for violating advertising rules. It was decided that you’d be suspended for 3 months. He offers to help her with her case. She politely declines.
Ceylin tells Ilgaz this is something that happened last year. She asks him if he knew anything about this. Ilgaz says he just found out, too. She is wary because he quit and wants to represent her. He says it’s just a coincidence. Let’s get the details and file an appeal.
Seda catches up to Pars as he walks to his office. She wants an update on Engin’s case. He tells her that’s not the only case he’s working on and starts to walk away. She follows him. The file is no longer sealed, she says, but no new reports have been submitted. Pars tells her to calm down, there are procedures in place. She asks if there is new evidence, anything she should know.
Pars says that Ceylin remembers and is going to testify. Seda is shocked. Does she remember everything? Half, everything, a little, Pars replies, I hope she remembers everything. Pars goes into his office and Seda calls Yekta to inform him. Yekta tells Cuneyt and they head to the courthouse. Cuneyt looks worried.
Ceylin tells Ilgaz everyone does it. He asks, will you commit a crime just because everyone does it? It’s no a crime, she replies, I broke a rule. She turns to him, if you want to be my lawyer, you have to be on my side. That’s your first lesson. We don’t need to agree for me to defend you, he tells her. You still think I’m wrong, she says. Log into any lawyer site. Everyone advertises themselves. Everyone uses cases they’ve won as a reference. She argues, am I hurting anyone? Why me?
Ceylin is sure that Yekta is behind this because she didn’t take a job at Tilmen with Engin. He and Engin continue to ruin my life, she says. Ilgaz says she needs to be patient. She can’t—I’ll lose all my clients and my trial will take place. And I spent all my money on a car.
Ilgaz tells her she has to testify and go to the station to check with the probation officer. They take separate cars. Lol Upon arriving at the court, Ceylin comments, just a week ago I was here as a lawyer and you were a DA. She’s still suspicious of Ilgaz. This is too much. It can’t be a coincidence.
He asks her, you’ll sign the power of attorney, right? She replies, I don’t have a lawyer, no choice. But… I’ll have full control over everything. We’ll do what I say, you’re a rookie. Ilgaz snarks, yes, I graduated yesterday, this is my first day in court and I don’t know my way around. Trust me.
Neva notices Ilcey enter the building.
Ceylin warns Ilgaz, you won’t find the same Pars you’re used to. You can’t even crack a joke. Ilgaz is aware. She just wants him to be prepared. Don’t take this the wrong way, but there is a rivalry between you two. [no kidding.] He’s going to enjoy this. [no kidding.] He’ll enjoy it more because I’ll be there. [no kidding.] Ilgaz says to stop thinking about him. We are here for you, he says, just tell him what you remember.
Ilcey enter Pars’ office. So, you got your memory back, he says to Ceylin, you look well. Pars turns to Ilgaz, you can’t be here as her husband. She has to be alone. I’m here as her lawyer, Ilgaz replies, I’ll add the power of attorney to her file.
Pars is surprised Ilgaz got his license so quickly. Pars says, it’s hard to keep up with you. You show up married one day, the next day DA Ilgaz leaves and counselor Ilgaz shows up. How many other iterations will I get to meet? Ilgaz responds, the possibilities are endless. Pars asks Ceylin why she is not defending herself. I need someone to do it, she says, I’ve been reprimanded by the Bar. I can’t work for 3 months. Yet another iteration for you, Pars snarks.
Pars gets down to business. How did you recover your memory? She begins, after I left prison, I had time to recover. I was able to remember. You remember? Pars replies, there’s no need to lie. I wouldn’t be here otherwise, Ceylin answers.
Seda catches Ridvan in the hall before he enters Pars’ office. She asks about reports. Ridvan was working on that when Pars called him to take a statement. Is it Ceylin, Seda asks. He doesn’t know and goes into the office.
Yekta shows up. Is Ceylin here? We need to get that statement! We need to find out what she says. Cuneyt excuses himself. Seda looks suspicious.
Cuneyt goes to see Neva. Ceylin is here to testify, right? They both look worried.
Ceylin tells Pars it was a woman. I saw her hair and smelled her shampoo. What was her hair color, he asks, you said you saw. Black, red, brown… long, short, curly, straight? Ceylin doesn’t remember. How can you not, Pars asks, you remember the shampoo but not the hair color? I’m just curious. He gets snarky. It could be selective memory, I don’t care, but Ridvan does. He spends an hour in front of the mirror everyday. Do you recognize your hair color, Ridvan?
Ceylin repeats, I don’t remember. It was dark, everything was blurry after I was hit over the head. I was barely able to open my eyes. Pars says that could be argued.
Pars calls Eren. He wants to know the size of the footprints at the crime scene in Sile. Eren says they can’t be sure but it looks like a 43. End call. Pars asks, can a woman wear a size 43? Do you think you imagined it, he asks Ceylin. Ceylin looks uncertain. There were other women on the list we gave you, she says, you even questioned Seda, suspecting she poisoned Engin.
Those were the days, Pars replies, we worked as a team back then. Ceylin says, we should ask them where they were on that night. Ilgaz suggests they investigate the third person at the scene. Pars asks, should I? Ilgaz thinks Ceylin’s testimony is important and it will help calculate the angle from where the gun was fired. Pars says they will look into it.
Pars continues the questioning. While Ms. Seda, was here, you made a few statements. Your attorney and I were witnesses. You said you’d kill Engin if he got out of prison. Ilgaz has a mild objection. Pars says that Ceylin turned out to be a good shot and they continue to deliver documents that strengthen their case.
Ilgaz says they already argued this before the judge. He tells Pars, you have a gun, too, but you’re not a murderer. My prints aren’t on a gun used to kill someone, Pars replies. One more thing, he adds, it’s about a case you oversaw. The client who poisoned the money. So, what’s the question, Ceylin asks. Pars answers, Seda claims this is how you came up with a plan to poison Engin. Ceylin states she didn’t kill Engin and didn’t poison him.
Ilgaz steps in—who handled that case. Engin and I. Well, he says, Engin knew about this, too. So you’re saying Engin poisoned himself, Pars asks. We’d like you to find out, Ilgaz replies. Pars asks Ridvan to send the statement to Homicide. Have them look it over and provide a report.
Awkward moment in the hall when Ilcey cross paths with Yekta. Pars comes out and Yekta asks to see Ceylin’s statement. I need to question a few more people, Pars replies. Who are you going to question, Yekta asks, what did Ceylin come up with? Pars wants to question Lacin again. He asks Seda to come inside.
Pars questions her, where were you between 3 and 8p [on that day]. She wants to know why he’s asking. I came here to give a statement, she answers, and then I left. She tries to remember the rest. I was upset and decided to move to a different hotel, she says, the one I was at was dirty, there were bugs. I packed. Pars estimates that takes her to 4p. Then what?
Seda says she drove around, looking for another hotel. And did you find a nice hotel, Pars asks. I did, she replies, and then I got some food. What hotel? When did you register? We need to check this, Ms. Seda. Why are you asking? Pars explains that Ceylin said the killer was a woman.
Ceylin accuses Ilgaz of acting like a DA. A lawyer fills in the blanks, you need to answer right away. If you’re careless the judge and the DA are going to give it to you hard. They will ask all sorts of questions. You can’t always wait for something important to say. Speak even if you have nothing important to add. This is your first lesson. [I think this is his second, first lesson.]
So you say I should ramble and not stop talking, Ilgaz asks. No, Ceylin replies, it’s the art of defense. It will take me a while to get it, Ilgaz says, it’s a good thing you have an incisive and meticulous lawyer or you’d be in trouble. He walks away from her. [point for Ilgaz]
The police are back at the scene in the woods. Metin directs, find hair, hair clips, anything that might belong to a woman. They investgate the angle of the bullets. Metin thinks it’s odd. One of the bullets was a shot closer to the ground. Eren reads Ceylin’s statement: “he was killed while I was on the ground.” She watched him fall from the ground. Then she saw the hair.
Eren thinks it’s possible that the gun could have been put in Ceylin’s hand and fired while she was unconscious. The angles are a match. Metin counters, or she shot Engin, she was hit over the head, and fired again while she fell to the ground. Eren says both scenarios require three shots.
Metin orders a search for a third bullet. Let’s say there was a third person, and she shoots Engin. Why aren’t there fingerprints on the weapon? Maybe the person was wearing gloves, Eren offers. Metin shouts out, look for gloves, too.
Seda and Yekta leave the courthouse. She tells him they suspect a woman did it. Ceylin’s statement steered them in that direction. Pars asked me where I was that day and I told him. He’ll question Lacin, too. Yekta is ticked. He tells Seda, your stupid sister went to Sile to say goodbye to Engin. Seda is alarmed. Yekta continues, when I called her, she got scared and returned home. Seda says Lacin can’t keep that a secret. They will use her phone to locate her. Lacin comes to the courthouse. Murat looks concerned.
Ilcey go to her office. The maintenance man says a man was looking for her. He’s upstairs. The man says she represented a relative of his awhile ago. You won his case but now I need help.
Pars interviews Lacin, with Yekta and Seda present. Tell me everything you did that day. You mentioned the beach, but then you went to Sile. Yekta interrupts, that’s irrelevant to the case, check when she was there. You’ll see she left Sile before the murder took place. We live in an electronic age, Pars replies, the truth will come to light.
Lacin signs her statement and gets up to go. One more question, Pars asks, do you smoke? I smoke occasionally, she replies. The Tilmens leave. Pars looks at Ridvan and says, that’s strange.
Lacin tells Yekta he shouldn’t have forced her to say she was in Sile. You’re so smart, Yekta snaps back, you didn’t think Pars would find out? Technology and GPS are a thing, in case you don’t know. I guess she doesn’t know because she asks Seda, what is GPS? Seda explains it.
Pars calls Eren—I need the whereabouts of Lacin Tilmen on the day of the murder.
Eren finds a glove in the mud.
And we are out.
Thank you, dondi356.
Ceylin couldn't pay her heating bill so she was freezing sleeping in her office. But she got a new electric car right after getting out of prison. Meanwhile Ilgaz is driving a 10 year old Honda CRV.
Pars was funny when Ilgaz told him he was Ceylin's lawyer. He is right, it's hard to keep up with them.
Not sure what role Yekta and his lawyers play in Engin's murder. They are not part of the prosecution, the state is. Ceylin couldn't get any info on Ingi's investigation until she became Cinar's lawyer.
Thanks again, dondi. I got a kick out of "welcome to the world of parenting a teenager". Mine was SO easy until senior year of high school. Patted myself on the back all the time. And then...I sent him to live with his father in another state (for the summer) right after graduation!
Not liking Ceylin very much. She was subdued because of concussion and memory loss and VERY grateful to Ilgaz. Now she's back to being a brat. Lucio, she got a fee from the hospital after her work resulted in the woman being revealed as harming her own child. Doubt it was the whole cost of the car, maybe a big downpayment.
That was a drastic Telemundo cut of what you wrote, dondi. I refer to Seda maybe homing in on Neva as a guilty party.
So the man who announced Zumrot's pregnancy is her husband? And the "uncle" mention means he's an uncle of someone in Ceylin's family? Must be. If she's pregnant and unmarried, I doubt the man would announce it on the street. Somehow I forgot she was married.
I googled Turkish judicial robes, and got a bit of an answer and lots of images of bathrobes!
Ceylin is probably right that Yekta is behind her suspension for advertising. Guess things are different than the U.S. Sometimes I listen to the San Francisco Giants baseball games on the radio. They often have a legal firm pitching their representation of men. They try to be a bit subtle, but the gist, at least to me, is "we'll help you keep your money and max child visitation rights".
Every time Yekta, the entitled lawyer without any real title to back it up, appears on screen I have to refrain from throwing a coaster at the TV.
Now I'm starting to question my theory about Neva having killed Engin. It's starting to look like a red herring with all the plotting with Cuneyt and Seda's suspicion.
Ceylin should give Ilgaz a warm thanks for getting it before Pars that Engin worked on the poisoned page case. And...thinking back...Engin was SO eager to get that "package" he was expecting. And it seemed to be the autographed book he was expecting. Maybe he did poison himself, not realizing how bad off he'd end up.
Thank you, Lucio and novelera.
Lucio, I think Pars is the funniest one in the dizi. So much funnier in the Turkish. His delivery is great. I’m worried that they will use his epilepsy to kill him off in a future episode. I hope not.
The main thing Yekta’s lawyers are doing is the online smear campaign against Ceylin. Doesn’t matter if they have no right to info, anyway Cuneyt gets all that info somehow and feeds it to Yekta.
novelera, Ceylin annoys me too. Ilgaz is a saint.
IIRC, the man who announced Zumrut’s pregnancy is Zafer’s brother, who is married to Zumrut. That made the scandal much worse for all.
I’ll have my recap up in a short while.
This was a bombshell episode.
The glove is bagged as evidence.
Seda enters Pars’ office. She asks him, why only two women? Pars replies, I don’t see any other women related to the case. Not apparent to you, Seda says, but it is to me. Ridvan excuses himself. She asks Pars to meet at her hotel in an hour.
Ceylin speaks with the potential new client, Mithat. He had an argument with his business partner, Omer, over money and debts. After a few drinks, tension increased and they fought. The partner left. The next morning, he got a call from the police saying Omer was dead. He began to worry, “Mithat what if you’re a suspect?” And the police want a statement tomorrow morning. He thought of Ceylin.
Ceylin says they will do a power of attorney and they will go together for the statement. Looks like Ilgaz doesn’t agree with the quick decision. She asks for details of what happened. Ilgaz makes an excuse for them to step away to talk.
They have a quiet argument over accepting this client. Ilgaz is thinking like a prosecutor again. He thinks Ceylin should ask Mithat if he did it. Ceylin didn’t think of that. She adds, as lawyers, the right to a defense is sacred, Mr. former DA. He says, you’ve been through this. Don’t pain and loss change a person and make them question? You can protect or defend a murderer? Ceylin returns to Mithat.
Ceylin asks Mithat if he killed Omer. He denies it, saying Omer was like a brother. Yes, they fought but he could never kill anyone. If you have doubts, he says, it’s better I leave. No, Ceylin replies, your statement is important for us.
Osman gets a text from Zumrut, meet me in the park at 8p. He smiles and texts back he’ll be there.
The glove is brought to the station. It needs to be dried and cleaned of mud before checking for blood and DNA.
Seda calls Pars to see if he’s on his way to the hotel. He’s wary. She might record him there. She could say the DA had a private conversation with the lawyer. Seda threatens, I’ll go to court tomorrow and ask in writing for the name of the person I want to make a statement. [We know she has dirt on Neva.] Pars is cornered, he will meet, but he will pick the place. He asks her to turn off her phone.
Ceylin tells Mithat that Ilgaz will take the power of attorney. Mithat has doubts about Ilgaz. Ceylin says that Ilgaz is a great lawyer and will do a great job. Mithat accepts.
A man shows up at Gul’s house claiming to be a friend of Zafer’s. He tells her a BS story. Zafer is okay. We went together to Haiti [!]. Gul has no idea where that is. It’s far, the man says, near the USA. I heard my mother died and I came back as soon as we landed. The others stayed on the ship. I heard that they made it to Haiti. Gul asks, when will the ship return? The man says he doesn’t know. The shipping company went bankrupt. The ship is being held. Zafer said to give you this. He hands her an envelope and leaves.
There’s a wad of bills in the envelope and a letter: Gul, my longsuffering wife, I curse the day I got on this boat. I wish I hadn’t left the house. If I sat at the table… if I provided for you… I’d wish I had the ezogelin soup you made, and you’d bring me tea with a thin slice of lemon. But that’s life. Fate can separate people, but I’ll be back. We will be reunited, inshallah. Take care, Zafer.
Soup recipe:

Of course, this man was sent by Merdan. They got someone who is an expert at forgery to copy Zafer’s handwriting. They got a sample of Zafer's writing from one of his jail cellmates.
Ilgaz gets the power of attorney for Mithat. He calls Eren. Eren tells him about the glove. Ilgaz asks for information on Mithat’s case.
Ilgaz returns to the office and Ceylin starts a discussion on where they should place his desk. Forget about the desk, he says. She wonders if he went through with the POA. I’m embarrassed to say I did, he replies, we still don’t know if he’s a murderer or not. We asked, she says with frustration. And we should just believe him, Ilgaz asks, would he admit it? He launches into a mini rant. He may be a murderer and he will walk free from the police thanks to us.
Ceylin says that’s called being a lawyer. You’re still thinking like a prosecutor. What are we supposed to do? Wait and see if he’s guilty or innocent to defend him? That’s DA instinct. Leave it behind or you might as well throw in the towel and surrender, DA Ilgaz. That’s how this works.
Seda and Pars meet at his place. This was weird. She takes off a layer of clothing. She begins, I’ve taken a special liking to you. I don’t know what to call it. Let’s call it a weakness. That’s why I wanted to meet face to face, without an official request.
Pars says let’s get down to business. She obliges. She knows Neva visited Engin in jail and got in his ambulance. I know you suspect a woman, she says, I request that Neva’s statement be taken, or our statements, Lacin and mine, be stricken from the record. We both know that Neva isn’t the killer, Pars says, Neva would never do anything like that. You’re smart, you’d notice it.
Seda stands face to face with Pars. I remember the day we met. When you faced Neva’s weakness. You believed in your sister so much. You were 100% sure she could do no wrong. Listen, even if she is your sister, she did it illegally. And you did nothing, you ignored it. She snarks, we get along well, no? You have me and I have you. Either take Neva’s statement or remove our statements from the file. Period.
Before she leaves, she tells Pars she’s disappointed. When you called me to your house, I thought you’d make preparations. A meal, something nice. You didn’t. But I don’t care. He says nothing. Was that her phone, he returned to her? She leaves.
Ilcey continue their discussion. Ilgaz asks, what would you do if the man gave a very vague answer or said, “I did it but defend me?” You’re not the only one who has changed, Ceylin says, as much as I have hurt you, you have positively changed me. Yes, in the past I wouldn’t have questioned him. I wouldn’t care. But if the man said he did it, then I’d show him the door. She wants to order food.
Neva is looking at apartments with Cuneyt. [I still don’t get what this relationship is about] Pars calls her. Where are you? He tells her he’s not feeling well. She panics and bolts.
Ilcey eat and have some pleasant conversation. Eren calls. The glove is still drying, but he’s got info on Mithat’s case. Ilgaz leaves the table. Eren says Umut was at the scene, he talked to Mithat there. He (Mithat) said he didn’t know Omer had been shot. They found him (Omer) in the bathtub covered in blood. The whole body was under water.
There was a delay in investigating, Eren says, because Metin went to handle the incident where three people were shot. He got there 4 hours later. After taking him (Omer) out of the tub, they discovered the man was shot.
Ilgaz says, that’s when he was with us. Eren agrees. Ilgaz reasons Mithat was the killer. How else would he know the man was shot. Ilgaz says he will send Mithat’s address to take him into custody. As you order, Eren replies. Ilgaz clarifies, it’s not an order, it’s advice. Ilgaz returns to the table and says nothing to Ceylin about Mithat’s case.
Eren tells a cop there’s an anonymous tip. Arrest the man and tell the DA.
Lacin’s phone results: She was not in Sile. He calls Pars with the news. [Did I see Pars lick his finger while reading Sahver’s book? lol]
Yekta and Lacin have dinner. Cuneyt calls Yekta about Lacin’s phone. No Sile. Yekta glares at Lacin. She asks, did Cuneyt say something? Something happened? Yekta says no.
Neva arrives at Pars’ place. He’s disappointed with himself and Neva that he had to trick her into coming. She’s angry. He tells her he has to take her statement tomorrow. Why? It might be because you visited Engin and got into the same ambulance, he replies, or because… you committed fraud in that infamous case. She gets up and states she’s not testifying. Pars insists she will and he will take her statement. I’ll even ask where you were at the time of the crime.
Neva says this is ridiculous. She only visited Engin out of curiosity. Pars asks, where were you when it happened? She refuses to answer. Pars presses her. How did you go to law school and become a judge? All I’m doing is seeking answers. I asked you where you were when the man was murdered and you’re going to answer. She refuses again. She warns, if you say you are dying, I won’t come. As she walks out, Pars calls out, I will call you to my room as many times as I want. Neva is panicked.
Ceylin downloads social media apps on her new phone and reads the flood of messages against her (and by extension, Ilgaz). She asks him if he’s seen the messages and he says he doesn’t use the app. He’s got no time for it. [lol, I loved that!] Yekta! He’s a piece of garbage! [a big piece of something I can’t print here.] It’s a cheap shot, Ceylin shouts. Ilgaz looks at the postings and says it’s to be expected.
Ceylin is ready to go off the rails again. She grabs the phone to respond. If he wants war, he’ll get it. Ilgaz grabs the phone back. She asks, can’t I defend myself? He can’t do this to you. I don’t care, Ilgaz replies. You’re going to let him, she argues, it shouldn’t be like that for a person like you who lives by what others say. Doesn’t it bother you?
Ilgaz is taken aback. Excuse me, do you really see me that way? She replies, aren’t you the one who shapes his life so people don’t think anything bad? Not because of what others think, he answers, I shape my life according to what I know to be true. We are going to make this right, he assures. Let’s overcome these predjudices from the beginning.
Ceylin apologizes, I went too far. But in the next second, she grabs the phone again. He takes it back. Replying to him means you’re talking to him. She says, innocent people also defend themselves because they have to. Ilgaz replies, things don’t work that way in this dumpster [of social media. lol]. They’ll take what you say out of context and put you in a tighter spot. We are going to make a mistake. Calm down and listen to me for once. Ilgaz wins that battle.
Osman meets Zumrut in the park. He’s ready to resume as before. She backs away from him. I didn’t come here to fulfill my desire, she says, we have a problem. The baby? She’s sure it’s Osman’s. She cries, I couldn’t hide it from Ziver because he was with me in the hospital. The doctor said I was two months, but I told Ziver one and a half. It was that night… Osman says, we’ll find a way. Zumrut keeps crying, I was happy to get rid of you. I regretted it! God punished me and now it’s in my belly. I can’t do anything! He hugs her. Don’t worry.
Niyazi tells Gokzu (the other lab tech) he will be back in an hour, don’t touch anything. She notices the glove is finally dry. She takes it out and examines it under a microscope. Yes! Yes!
Ilgaz tells Ceylin it’s time to go home. Home, where? Remember the couch where you found peace, he replies, you weren’t there last night and it missed you. Let’s go and sit on our couch. He lifts her from her seat and pulls her close. Real close. She says, I think we have some questions to answer, and clear some things up. She puts her arms around his neck. They are nose to nose now. He asks, what’s confusing you? Everything, she replies.
He moves in for the kiss and… she backs off! Is this the right time, Mr. DA? I mean, counselor. Very much so, he replies. [Damn you, commercial break!] This kiss was not meant to happen yet, because Mithat calls Ceylin and to Ilgaz’s dismay, she answers. He tells her he’s been arrested and they are taking his statement. Please come. Ceylin shoots a look at Ilgaz.
Gokzu calls Eren. Engin Tilmen’s blood was on the glove. And a hair was found, too. She will have the result soon. Eren says he will “teleport” over there. [lol, does he read Caray?] After Eren teleports, Gokzu explains, there was blood on the the index finger and the tip of the middle finger. It’s Engin Tilmen’s. The hair belongs to a man.
Niyazi walks up on them. Eren says, look what Gokzu found. The look on Niyazi’s face—I’ve been beaten to the punch. Eren praises Gokzu. Then he says, IMO the murderer isn’t a woman. It’s a man. A man with long hair. Niyazi says it’s possible. Eren is pleased with their work. Niyazi and Gokzu seem to have a bit of a rivalry. [Hmm… do we know a man with long hair?]
Ceylin prepares to go to the station for Mithat. She’s wondering if they found evidence. Ilgaz gives his opinion again—saying he didn’t do it means nothing. She asks, are you ready for your first police interrogation? Wait, she says, why are you so calm? You don’t seem surprised. Is there something you want to tell me?
Maybe, he replies. She’s listening. Ilgaz states, that man is a murderer. Remember what he told us? “They’re going to think I shot him.” And? I asked, Ilgaz says, I investigated. The man was shot in a bathtub. Forensics was late. They pulled him out, covered in blood while he was with us. They realized hours later he was shot. He killed his friend and lied about it.
What am I going to do with you, Ceylin replies. I lost a client because you caused a problem. You keep chasing the truth like a DA. You worked behind my back while I had dinner. She pushes him back in a chair and tells him, this can’t happen again. She adds, I should have figured. I’m supposed to be mad at you, but I can’t be. I’m proud and I don’t understand why. He takes her hand. Maybe life is giving us what we need. He pulls her onto his lap. There’s that kiss.
[And there’s more to that brief scene. I’ve seen it, but I can’t find the link now. This was the one “spoiler” I had coming in—the famous armchair scene. If I find it, I’ll post it.]
A man approaches Niyazi as he leaves his house. He tells him, the owner says if we sell, you’ll have to move out immediately. Niyazi just walks away. Another man has been lurking and listening.
Cut: Niyazi lives in this house with his elderly parents (bedridden father), his sister who has a several kids and a deadbeat husband. There’s not even money for his mother to go to the market.
Niyazi makes a call from a public phone. When are you going to give me the money? The man’s funeral is almost done! The voice on the phone says, are you crazy calling? [do you recognize that voice?] I’m worried, Niyazi says, you know how things are. There’s that lurking man again. Niyazi notices him. He tells the man on the phone, Batuhan’s loan shark man is after me 24/7. Niyazi takes his cigarette out of a holder.
We get a flashback to that night at the house in Sile We see Niyazi behind some bushes. He’s been smoking, there are several cigarette butts on the ground. Niyazi also sees the struggle between Engin and Ceylin. Looks like he follows them. We see the flashback in the woods including Ceylin being hit on the head and kicked.
And it’s Niyazi! He shoots Engin! He checks Engin’s pulse on the neck and gets blood on his glove. [remember, Ceylin scratched him there.] Semi conscious Ceylin sees Niyazi’s long hair, then blacks out. Niyazi puts the gun in her hand and fires two shots. End flash.
Gul shows up at Ceylin’s office. She must think it’s llgaz. She asks, did you get the simit? Gul asks why she didn’t come home. Ceylin says she forgot the time and then was too tired. Ilgaz comes with the simit and Gul surveys the situation. She looks scandalized [it’s okay mom, they are adults and married.] Ceylin rushes to Ilgaz. Make something up, mom is here. Ilgaz greets Gul with a good morning.
Gul tells Ceylin Zafer sent a letter. I came so we could go to the police. Then Gul says she burned the letter.
We see Aylin at home with the remnant of the burned letter. Parla tries to comfort her. She burned it without asking us.
Ceylin is annoyed that her mother burned the letter without letting her read it. How do you know he wrote it? Gul snaps back, let him sink with his letters! It was his handwriting. He wrote “my long-suffering wife”. He always calls me that. He also wrote about ezogelin soup. And the slice of lemon in his tea. Who else would know these things?
Ceylin asks, who brought the letter? What company did he go with? A guy on the same boat, Gul replies, they went to a faraway place. Do you think I’m stupid, Gul asks. He handed me a letter all of a sudden, I didn’t even ask his name. He said Zafer would be gone a long time. Ceylin asks in frustration, why did you burn the letter? Gul answers, if you were home, you would have received it.
Makbule informs Metin that Ilgaz didn’t come home last night. [he’s an adult, auntie.] Metin snarks, do I tell him to sign out everytime he comes and goes? Cinar comes in and asks if Ilgaz is a lawyer now. This is a surprise. Makbule thinks it’s not true. Cinar shares the awful posts on the app.
Gul leaves. Ceylin follows her to the door. [I’ll give you the Turkish here] I didn’t mean to upset you. I’ll find out what happened. Leave your father out of this, Gul says, what’s going on in this office? Do you think it’s best for you? You said you got married and I didn’t say anything. But there is something called shame.
Ilgaz listens in. Gul continues her rant, if you say this man is your husband, bring him to me and let him kiss my hand. Why are you embarrassing me in front of a stranger? What will I tell him? How will I treat him? I was stunned! It is forbidden. It doesn’t work this way. Let him bring his father or whoever he has, and sit down at the table like matchmakers, and we will do everything as it should be. Let everyone know their place and do what is right.
Ceylin says okay. Would you do the same if your father was here, Gul asks? He would have broken your legs. I’m useless, what can I do? Dad’s not here and you don’t have to explain to him how you spend your time. Gul walks away. Ceylin turns to Ilgaz. He looks embarrassed.
And we are out.
Wow, wow, wow! Questions. How did Niyazi know Engin was escaping or if Ceylin was in the car? Is it through Cuneyt? Was this direction from Yekta? He made a deal to pay the desperate Niyazi? Maybe that’s why Neva handed over a bag of cash? What’s her part in this? Then the fire that burned the coat was no accident. Niyazi didn’t want Gokzu to handle the glove. He would have fiddled with the result.
Thank you, dondi356.
Now we know it was Niyazi who pulled the trigger, but we are still not much closer to who is behind it. The suspects are Yekta, Neva, Cuneyt as an agent of Yekta or Neva, or Merdan who is everywhere. They are keeping us hooked.
I think the letter from Zafer will trigger more suspicions, not alleviate them. Of course, Gul believed it, but Ceylin with Ilgaz may not.
Maybe now that they found male hair on the glove, Pars will not have to call Neva and Seda with Lacin to testify.
Wow, indeed! Thanks so much again, dondi. I would never have guessed Niyazi in a million years. Actually I don't even remember him at all, except for the hair. Normally when one watches any kind of a mystery the lab people are assumed to have no role other than testing things found at the scene. They don't stand out in our minds like the police do.
Well, the person who knew Engin was escaping was Yekta. And maybe Cuneyt. And, yes, Neva's role in all this (bag of money) is very confusing. Unless it really was Neva behind it. How could she, on the fly, know Yekta had arranged an escape out the hospital bathroom window and presto-changeo have hired Niyaki?
And why did Engin smile at Niyazi over Ceylin's shoulder? It looked like a smile of recognition.
And, yes, I have a hard time adapting myself to Turkish culture at times. Both Gul and Makbule seem to feel they have some right to object to a married couple spending the night together. It's true, of course, that their marriage was suspicious to the families. The only one who knew bout it, at first, was Pars.
I'm still not understanding the conversation with Metin and Eren about three shots. One shot killed Engin. And we had decided a shot was fired with Ceylin's finger on the trigger so as to have her be blamed. Don't understand how they knew there were three and to search for another casing.
Aylin is right to be furious with her mother. OK, the letter was a fake. But such a letter should have been shared with his children, who are very worried about him. But then, as you said, dondi, Gul is a rose with thorns.
Hmmm. Zumrut has sex with her husband so infrequently that she can pinpoint Osman as the father of the baby she's carrying? And what the heck is he supposed to do about it now?
Quote for Turkish ep #18: "When I had all the answers, the questions changed." - Paulo Coelho
Over their delayed breakfast, Ilgaz asks Ceylin if she would like to spend the nights at his house. She doesn’t want to bother anyone. Besides, she says, we have to clear the air. He was only suggesting it because he thought it was easier. Order is good. This is an office, he tells her, and we are… He pauses, she asks what are we? We are… He’s having trouble figuring it out. She’s smiling… what are we? Tell me.
Ceylin laughs at him. You’re struggling to say it. It’s complicated. Admit it. Ignore the marriage part. We are two adults who had an “aventura”. [In Turkish she said they “started a relationship.”] Would we share a house? He admits they wouldn’t.
She continues, I’m not saying we have to get to know each other… I stayed at your house because I had to, but as a guest. It’s not easy to say, “we’re married”. I haven’t been able to do that yet. It doesn’t make sense to live in the same house. We’ll see each other often and I’m your wife on paper. But that’s not the point now. We became lovers. Ilgaz says he’s glad to hear it. He has the same questions. Let’s go on like this and see what happens. Ceylin says she’ll figure out something with her mother.
Ilgaz gets a call from someone who was referred by Sahver—represent us.
Seda barges into Pars office and he lets her know he’s not happy. All she wants to know is when the reports and statements will be ready. Are you going to question Neva, she asks. He tells her to get out. She leaves. Pars tells Ridvan to get Neva for questioning.
Neva is on the phone to Cuneyt. Did you manage to convince him, she asks anxiously. Cuneyt says he did. She’s relieved and grateful. I can’t thank you enough for all you’ve done. My pleasure, he replies, I did it because I wanted to. She says, maybe we can get together tonight. The call is interrupted when Neva is summoned for questioning.
Fatih is back home. Ozlem tells him that Tugce is staying with her sister for a while.
Eren brings borek for the lab techs. He asks about the hair. Gokzu says she prepared the report and unfortunately there’s no match for the DNA. Niyazi is relieved. Eren asks Niyazi about the third bullet. Are you looking? Niyazi says the search was canceled, they couldn’t find it. Eren replies, we’ll find it and the shooter too, right Gokzu?
When Eren leaves, Niyazi tells Gokzu she shouldn’t get involved in this. She says she’s just doing her job. Okay, he replies, but I’m your boss and you need to do what I say.
Ilcey get ready to meet the new clients. She says he’s lucky to have had a professor who cares about him. She never got along with hers. Big surprise, ha, ha. She starts in with the digs and advice. Ilgaz is calmly irritated. He says maybe she shouldn’t join him.
Eren meets Ilcey as they leave the office. He tells them about the hair. Ceylin is surprised—weren’t we looking for a woman? Ilgaz says it could have been a man with long hair. Eren explains that blood was found on the glove. The person must have checked Engin.
Neva’s questioning starts. Pars begins, Engin Tilmen was poisoned in the prison and sent to the hospital. Did you go to see him that day? Yes, she replies, he sent me a note saying he wanted to see me. I found the note on the office floor. I went out of curiosity, she says, but I didn’t get to talk to him. He was very sick.
Pars asks why she went in the ambulance. Did you plan to interfere? As far as I know, you only graduated from law school. She says it was a quick decision. She didn’t think. I thought I would get the chance to talk to him but didn’t. Yes, Pars says, because he was about to die.
I think we’re done, Neva says. No, Pars replies, where were you on that day between 3 and 8p? She bristles, is this what you ask of those who testify? You’re making a mockery of everything. Stay within the parameters of the law. If I’m a suspect, make it official.
Pars reminds her she’s here as a civilian, not a judge. A man was murdered and anyone who came in contact with the victim, without exception, must prove where they were. The truth always comes to light. So, I ask a question and get an answer.
Neva says something personal came up. It’s none of his business. It’s unrelated to this topic. Pars tells Ridvan to stop writing. He tells Neva she’s making it worse. We are relatives. If you arouse suspicions, I’ll have to hand this case over to another DA and then you’ll be stuck. Answer the question.
They are interrupted by Eren, who has brought the latest report about Engin’s blood on the glove and a hair from a male. The third person is not a woman. And there’s no match in our system.
Pars tells Ridvan to void the statement. Neva leaves.
Seda is waiting outside the office. Ece [I called her Ezge before] calls to tell Seda she found out who Cuneyt meets—Judge Neva! They’ve been spotted together several times. Her source is good.
Seda confronts Pars in the hall. She wants Neva’s statement. He blows her off.
Ceylin keeps trying to remember. The person who fired the gun had long hair. Who could it be? Ilgaz thinks it might be someone they know. He asks her to sign the POA so he can get info from the DA, police, and Ms. Ceylin. She smiles, I have no lawyer, I have no choice.
Breakfast at the Tilmens. Yekta questions Lacin. What if you saw Engin when you went to Sile? Would your memory of the trip be more gratifying? Would you be happy to have seen your son? Of course, she replies. What a shame, Yekta says, you should have waited longer. Lacin gets nervous. Yekta continues, if I hadn’t called you, maybe everything would be different now. You would have seen Engin. Maybe you could have prevented what happened.
Lacin says, I went to Sile to wait for him, but I got scared when you called and came home. How did you get there, Yekta asks. She says by taxi. How did you get back, he asks, there are no taxis there. I asked the driver to wait, she replies. She’s had enough of the questioning. She says, Engin’s autopsy was completed and you have to collect his body. I’m heartbroken and you’re asking stupid questions! She gets up from the table.
Lacin goes to the kitchen and finds a way to be alone with Murat for a moment. He holds her hand, are you okay?
Cuneyt arrives and hands over the files Yekta wanted. Yekta asks Cuneyt to take care of the funeral arrangements. He tells Cuneyt that Lacin is lying to him. She’s plotting something but I have no idea what. He asks Cuneyt to run the GPS to find out where she was, if there were restaurants, cafes. Look at the cameras and see if she met anyone.
Ilcey are at the furniture factory. Sahver recommended Ilgaz to the owners. They lost their lawyer two days before their trial. He wasn’t well, they didn’t realize. Everything is a mess. The owners ask, will that be a problem? Ilgaz says yes, Ceylin says no. Ilgaz thinks there’s not enough time before trial. Maybe a postponement? The owners have already delayed, they want to move ahead.
Ceylin says if we work together, we can catch up. He still has doubts. She says they will take the case. She smooths everything over and all Ilgaz can do is smile and go along.
There was an accident on the job. A nail gun broke and ended up in a worker’s (Galip) eye. He lost 90% of his vision in the eye. The company covered expenses, reduced his workload and offered a raise. But Galip doesn’t want to work there anymore and he wants compensation.
The question: is this company negligence or is it employee error? Ceylin thinks the employee is lying about something. Ilgaz looks at her and softens the statement. The owner says by law, the employer and employee are responsible for accidents. Everything is on file. Ceylin says let’s do the POA, etc.
On the way out Ilgaz asks her, what did you do? I got you a case, she replies. One I’m going to lose, he says, thanks a lot. It’s impossible to prepare in two days. He gives a bunch of reasons. Thanks to you, I’ll lose.
Ceylin says she thought they could figure it out. I didn’t think there would be a trial. Ilgaz would have liked her to ask him first before saying the employee lied. Maybe he isn’t lying, she replies, but it is your job to defend your clients. But she admits that Ilgaz is right.
One of the owners stops them before they leave. There’s a witness. Maybe you want to talk to him before you leave. They do.
The coworker says that Galip is meticulous in his work, knows everything inside and out. He wouldn’t have had such an accident. I was with him and I used the tool right before he did with no problem. Ceylin asks, are you saying the business is responsible? No, he replies, I think it was done on purpose. Ceylin is surprised. Galip wanted to blind himself? The worker replies, debt can cloud your judgment. Galip has many debts. He tried to borrow from everyone, and then the accident happened.
Ilgaz asks the man if he witnessed the accident. He replies, no one did, but that’s what I think. Ilgaz notes the man was with Galip. Yes, but my back was to him. He says, using that tool is second nature to us.
Ceylin tells Ilgaz she can’t believe a man would willingly sacrifice an eye. She says they have to prove Galip lied about how the accident happened. They have a back and forth discussion. Upshot is Ilgaz is upset.
Ceylin says she will give her POA to Ilgaz and then there’s a place she wants to visit. I’ll drop you at the office, she says. I want to go to the consulate to talk about my father. Is there a Haitian Consulate? Ilgaz says let’s go to the German Consulate. They go together.
Pars barges in on Neva. You got your way at the last minute, he says, if it wasn’t for Eren, you would have answered my question. Now I ask as your brother, where were you? What’s all this personal business? What are you hiding?
I have an important hearing tomorrow, Neva replies, I’m busy. You may leave. Pars insists, answer my question, I’m your brother. It’s none of your business, she answers, I have a personal life. Leave. Pars doesn’t accept this. He says, either you have a problem or a secret. Neva refuses to answer. I didn’t ask you to be like this, she tells her brother. He replies, I’m nervous and under a lot of stress. He warns, I’ll leave and won’t look back.
Neva unloads on Pars. So don’t! I’m overwhelmed! You’re not my father or mother! I’m an adult! Not a child! I’ve had it with you! I’m sick of being suppressed and humiliated, being treated like a child and having to answer to you. I’m sick of your arrogance! I’m sick of it all!
She continues to rip into her brother and he continues to stand there and take it. Look around you! You’re on your own! Do you have anyone? No! You don’t even have a friend or a woman who loves you! You don’t even know what love is! You only have your job. You cling to me because if I leave, you’ll be all alone. I’m not a toy you got so you would be happy. Enough! Leave me alone! [Harsh, Neva.]
Cut: Pars says he will take his annoying presence and go. Don’t call me if things are bad or if they’re good. Ne ölün, ne ölüme. [Wow. Neither your death or mine. Can take that as “you’re dead to me.” I won’t go to your funeral and don’t come to mine.]
After going to Missing Persons, Gul stops in to see Metin. Metin says he goes there every day to ask. [but not for the same reasons as Gul.] She tells him about the letter. He’s been found. Don’t waste your time looking for him. A letter, Metin asks, what letter? Gul replies, he said he was going on a ship, and he did. One of his friends brought me the letter. Zafer is fine but he won’t be back for a long time. Metin asks for the letter and Gul tells him she burned it. But thankfully, he’s been found. [Metin has got to be thinking Merdan.]
Ceylin paces at the consulate, while Mr. Remsi makes calls. He calls them inside. Remsi says that Zafer Erguvan boarded a ship illegally and was detained. The list was sent from Berlin. The ship was fully stocked when the company went broke. The merch is still onboard and the creditor expects it. They hope to reach a deal. It could take a year, but hopefully not that long. The Coast Guard is helping them. They can’t go anywhere but they are not abandoned. Ilgaz asks if there’s a way to contact him. Remsi has no other info, but he says the honorary Turkish consulate in Haiti can help.
Ceylin is relieved at least her father is alive. Sooner or later he will return. I will reprimand him, she says. What if he reprimands you, Ilgaz asks. If he didn’t know Cinar was innocent, then his daughter and Cinar’s brother…. Çok komik. They walk with arms around each other.
Remsi watches Ilcey from the window and calls Merdan. The woman you mentioned came by. I told her what we discussed. They believed it. [Merdan has people at the German Consulate?!] Merdan thanks him and says he’ll send something over with his boys.
Metin shows up at Merdan’s place. He gets right down to it—did you sent that letter? What letter, Merdan replies, I’m not that old… do people still send letters? Everything is online now. Metin persists, did you send a letter to Ceylin’s house? Merdan admits it. Did you think they won’t recognize the handwriting, Metin asks? You think people are stupid? Merdan shows an original letter from Zafer and a forgery. You underestimate me, he tells Metin. You’re shameless, Metin replies. Merdan thinks Metin should kiss his hand.
Cuneyt tells Yekta everything is ready for the funeral. The body is at the hospital. What about the other matter, Yekta asks, did you learn anything about Lacin? Nothing yet, Cuneyt answers, I’m looking into it. [Did Cuneyt look a little nervous to you? Did Yekta look suspicious? This dizi is making me suspicious of everyone.] Yekta thanks Cuneyt. Cuneyt says they found a house in the area that belongs to Lacin. Yekta jumps from his chair—what?! Give me the address!
Ilcey are working. Ceylin says they will win this case and then she will sell her car and buy a new one. She’s waiting anxiously for the POA to go through. Ilgaz says it doesn’t matter, there’s only 30 hours left before the trial. She admits this is her fault. Ilgaz snarks, you got this, you could do it with just 3 hours.
You’re mad at me, Ceylin says. She gets up and gets close to him. What can I do to change that? These tricks won’t work, Ilgaz replies, but you can start by admitting I’m right. Okay, you’re right, she answers, but I’m doing this for you. You won’t learn to swim unless you jump into the water. A notification interrupts them on the way to a kiss.
Yekta breaks into Lacin’s little hideaway. An opened bottle of wine and two glasses. A dish with food scraps. An unfinished puzzle on the dining room table. Paintings. An unfinished one is of a man but the face isn’t completed. Men’s clothing is in the closet.
Ilcey arrive at his place. She asks, does your father know you’re a lawyer now? No, Ilgaz says, he only knows I quit. He’s more worried about the work they need to get done. Ceylin says she will make lots of coffee. They run into Metin as soon as they enter. He knows that Ilgaz is a lawyer. Ceylin excuses herself. Ilgaz tries to get away—he’s busy.
Are you running away, Metin asks. Ilgaz, life took your mother away from me. But I was sure of something—that if anything happens to me, Ilgaz would take care of his siblings. He’s centered and sensible. Why have you changed? Ceylin hears all of this this. This isn’t about being a son or brother, Ilgaz replies. I made a career choice. I understand you don’t like it but it’s done. Metin says, everything you do affects us.
Metin mentions that Ceylin’s mother stopped by. We’re going to have dinner, get to know each other. What families do. She’s right, this marriage shouldn’t be just on paper. At least face us. Why do you hide things from us? Ilgaz says Ceylin’s exoneration is more important now. We’ll get together soon.
Ilcey enter the apartment and Ceylin collapses in a chair. What’s wrong, Ilgaz asks, you said you’d make coffee and we’d work like crazy. You look defeated. I’m caught in the middle of a father and son, she replies, I can see it now. You shouldn’t eavesdrop, he tells her. I was in the stairwell, she says, I heard you clearly.
Don’t worry about it, Ilgaz tells her. Ceylin says she’s worried about what comes next. I’ve noticed how he watches you. I heard the implication. What would Ilgaz do if I died? He’s right. You left your job and married me to get your way. You have a bad record. She admits she might still be angry with Metin. One hand he’s right and the other he’s wrong. It’s about what he did to my father. Maybe is shouldn’t make myself a visible target. Ilgaz says his father needs time, too. We will give everyone and everything the time they need.
Ceylin doesn’t want to think about her mother--she might even ask you to ask for my hand. Ilgaz says, maybe your mother is right, too. Mom is right, Dad is right, you’re right, I’m right, Ceylin notes, someone has to be wrong or we won’t have fun. He laughs, I can’t picture you carrying the coffee.
Stupid Cinar is hanging out with Serdar and Merve. Parla messages him: “I’d like to be with you.” He says Parla is naïve.
Ilgaz makes dinner. Ceylin suggests that he work and she’ll cook. He gets snarky. Tell me what you want and I’ll make it, she says.
Serdar takes Cinar’s phone and sends Parla a selfie of the them. Serdar says they need Parla with them she’s the most innocent among us. We need her! She’ll make the first delivery. Parla looks at her messages.
And we are out.
Thank you, dondi356.
Since Ceylin got out of prison, Ilgaz and Ceylin have spent all their time together. They only separated for some time after he told her he quit the prosecutor job and until she came to see his lawyer license ceremony. Other than that they have been together - day and night.
Lacin is in real trouble now that Yekta has found her secret house.
Merdan has people everywhere. I agree, dondi356, it is a stretch that he has someone at the German consulate.
