Pars asks the ME, how did this happen? How did my sister die? Starvation and dehydration, the ME replies, she fought hard. We found contusions, dislocated bones, and bruises all over. She didn’t drown in the well. If you look at her neck, she was strangled.
Pars leaves the building. He walks across the way, leans on a wall and cries. Ilgaz gives Pars his condolences. Derya arrives. Pars straightens up and waves his friends away. Don’t offer me condolences. My sister was choked to death and dumped in a well. You shouldn’t offer condolences as if she died a natural death. Find my sister’s killer! What do we know, komiser? This isn’t a toast at a birthday party, he cries, what changed in 24 hours?
Eren answers, one of the victims, a young woman, wore a watch. There was an inscription. We found the family of the woman and… Pars interrupts, I don’t care about that! Get me the name of my sister’s killer! Ilgaz suggests that Pars sit and drink some water.
Pars refuses and asks, have you identified the other bodies? Ilgaz says no. Pars asks, were they choked too? We don’t know yet. Then find out, Pars replies. Investigate! Focus on that! Ask for more resources but find my sister’s killer! Bring him to me alive! And get a statement from that bastard Cuneyt!
Pars composes himself. He buttons his collar and straightens his tie. He goes into prosecutor mode. Has anyone taken over for Metin? Yes. Derya asks Pars if he wants to go home. He tells her he’s going to the courthouse. He asks Ilgaz to send him all the reports, pictures, videos in one hour. He jumps into his car.
Eren finds out that the incident has been leaked to the press. News of Melis Yilmaz is out.
Cinar’s new reporter “friend” asks another reporter how he got the scoop. From an insider, he replies, you need someone on the inside who likes you and will share. We see Cinar serving tea and so does the reporter friend.
Ilgaz reads the riot act to all the cops at the station. I only asked for one thing! We said this was confidential. We found 4 bodies, one an important judge! We only have one surviving witness and he’s in the ICU. You couldn’t keep your mouths shut?! What if something happens to that child? Can you call yourselves good cops? We will find the person who leaked the info and hold them responsible for what happens next!
A young woman walks into the station. I’m Melis Yilmaz, you think I’m dead.
Pars ask Ridvan to unlock Neva’s office. He enters and starts to cry.
Melis says she lost her watch about 10 days ago. The last time I had it on, I was at home. I was with my friends from school, Cihan, Sule and Elif. I took the watch off and couldn’t find it the next morning. She doesn’t think her friends could have taken it.
Eren asks where they can find her friends. Sule and Elif live in the dorms. Cihan lives at home. Melis says she hasn’t heard from Elif in a week or maybe longer. [Uh oh, one of the victims? ] Eren asks Umut to go find Elif or find out who she was with last. He asks someone else to find out if Elif was reported missing.
Ilgaz says Neva came back 9 days ago. Melis hasn’t heard from Elif. Eren wonders if they weren’t rounded up on the same day.
Ceylin arrives at the courthouse. Ridvan sees her and gives her belated birthday greetings. She asks for Pars and Ridvan says he’s in Neva’s office. Ridvan doesn’t know what happened, but he senses something is up by the look on Ceylin’s face. Ceylin doesn’t tell him.
Pars cries as he looks at a family picture. Ceylin enters. Pars lets her stay. He has some questions. How are you connected to this incident? Why was your client’s son at the bottom of the well with my sister? Tell me what you know! She’s taken aback and replies, I know nothing. I don’t think there’s a connection.
Don’t lie, Pars says, you came here to find a way to work this case. You said you wouldn’t abandon your client. The case was important to you. You said you came to me first. Well, you came to me first and now you’ll tell me what you know. How does that boy know my sister?
Ceylin says she doesn’t know. Pars is sure she’s up to something, as she always is. If you’re involved, we’ll all get sucked in soon enough. It’s happened before. We all know you love the darkness. You love to work behind our backs. When you get obsessed, the end justifies the means. What happened? Did marrying Ilgaz change you? You hit the reset button? Ilgaz might believe you, but I don’t. Hard words from Pars and Ceylin leaves in tears.
She gathers herself outside, then returns to the office. She rushes to hug Pars. They cry. Ceylin tells him, I know you said that because you are angry. You want to hurt the first person you see. I know that feeling. Getting angry is easier than crying. Do it, my friend. I’m here for you. Pars says he wishes he could have died in Neva’s place. They choked her with their bare hands. Another hug.
Derya says Pars is at the courthouse. How is he going to review cases? After I lost my husband, I began to investigate the case right away. Sadness makes us illogical. Eren says the young woman is probably Elif Yavas. She hasn’t been reported missing. She grew up in an orphanage and has no known family. And the doctors haven’t given the clearance yet to question Mehmetcan.
Umut comes in with an update. More remains have been found at the crime scene.
Ceylin and Yekta spot each other outside the courthouse. Yekta gives her the death stare.
Ceylin confronts the young man who’s been following her around. She pushes him against her car and puts her hand around his throat. What do you want from me?! He waves a file in front of her. She asks, what is this? She lets him go.
He says it’s the supermarket file she wants. They covered the expiration dates with sale stickers. It’s the proof you need. She wonders why he is giving her this. Who are you? Why are you doing this? Ceylin recognizes him from Zeliha’s office. He says he did his internship there. He just got his diploma.
Ceylin still wants to know why he did this. He shouts, they poisoned people on purpose! You want to be a hero, she asks. No, he replies, I just want the bad guys to get the punishment they deserve! Doesn’t that make you feel good when someone receives the punishment they deserve? Don’t you want to make things right?
This shuts Ceylin down. She thanks him and gets in the car. Then she asks him to get in. Looks like she might have found herself a replacement for Engin.
Five skulls and a lot of bones were found at the crime scene.
Pars meets with the governor. She gives her condolences. She wants to know when the funeral will take place. He doesn’t have a date yet. She tells him she’s appointing a new chief to lead Homicide.
Ceylin brings the stalker boy to her office. She calls for her sister but she’s not there.
Aylin is meeting someone for lunch. She looks nervous. Her date arrives and tells her she looks more beautiful in person. [how original] She tells him he looks the same, but she means that in the best way. The man says he’s exhausted from working at the hospital. Aylin says they could have met another time, but he says no, I had to meet the woman I’m dreaming of day and night. I couldn’t wait any more. [Yep, there’s got to be something wrong with this guy]
Ceylin has an offer for the stalker. He will take Mehmetcan’s case. The court and DA tried to stop me, but I’m in control. You’ll do as I say. The guy replies, I’m like your puppet? Ceylin says that doesn’t sound nice but… She continues, you’ll be his lawyer on paper, but I’ll be his real lawyer. He asks if he has time to think it over. She says no and threatens to tell Zeliha what he did with the supermarket file.
Ceylin thinks she deserves a thank you and a smile from the guy. He maintains a stunned looks. She smiles, you are lucky, you’ll learn from a master. She laughs. I have plenty of experience. He says it’s a deal. [like he had a choice] She adds, if things go our way, and we like and trust each other, which is to say I don’t trust you…. Anyway, if we’re able to work together, you could have a desk here.
He looks around. He’d like that. First test—Ceylin says this convo stays between us. He okay with that. We’ll meet wherever and whenever I tell you, she says. Do you have a phone, she asks. He shows her. She tells him not to add her name to his contacts. She tries to figure out a good name for him to use. Then she snaps her fingers and says, get to work. Leave.
He leaves, and outside he takes out a second phone and starts typing. Ceylin walks out and he quickly puts the phone behind his back before she notices. She tells him, we never met. Leave right now. I’ll call if something comes up.
The reporter calls out to Cinar. How’s your hand? He asks Cinar to lunch. Ilgaz and Derya arrive at the station. Ilgaz notices Cinar talking to the reporter. [which means Cinar will be blamed for blabbing even if he doesn’t]
Back to Aylin’s lunch date. The guy gets a call about a patient and has to go. He’s overly apologetic. He puts his hand on hers. He says he’ll text her. [this guy is not legit]
The ME says they need to clean the skulls and bones that were found. Which bone belongs where, how many people there are… it will take time to figure it out. Ilgaz wants to bring in extra help to get the job done. The ME gets results from the wet fingerprint test. Eren says let’s run it.
Ceylin asks Mujde for an update on her son. He’s improving but still in the ICU. Mujde wonders who would have done this. What would they want from him? The cops told her he was in mortal danger. She says, they asked if I told anyone. I don’t understand. Ceylin says the cops are right. Mujde replies, my relatives and friends are asking about him. I can’t say a word.
Ceylin changes the subject. I found another lawyer. He’s going to help us with Mehmetcan’s case. She gives Mujde papers to sign for the notary. Mujde is reluctant but Ceylin gets her to agree.
Cinar is at Serdar’s mom’s house. He brought her something to eat. Looks like she’s not well. Cinar asks, has your son called you? She says no. Cinar says he hasn’t been to work either. We want to make sure he’s fine. Mom says Serdar never tells her about his life. He comes and goes. Cinar asks if anyone looks after her, the neighbors? God bless them, she replies, everyone who visits the store thinks of me. Cinar gets up to go. He leaves the woman some money.
We see the reporter helped Cinar find Serdar’s mother. Cinar is upset, not only did Serdar lie about his home, but his mother is disabled! He always told me he had no family. I’m such an idiot! [no comment.] The reporter says to forget it. We all lie at one point or another, don’t we? Cinar replies, I owe you one. [this can’t be good. He’s grooming Cinar to become his informant.]
We see Serdar peeking from around a corner and he watches Cinar and reporter walking away.
Eren is with Pars and they are at Neva’s door. Pars asks if anything else has been found. No, Eren replies, the house is clean. We didn’t find anything suspicious. They left everything as Neva left it. Eren asks if he can stop being Eren Komiser and go inside as Eren. Pars thanks him but wants to be alone.
Eren comes outside where Ilgaz is waiting. Ilgaz asks, you didn’t tell him, did you? I didn’t, Eren replies, but won’t he find out? It’s written in big bold letters in the report. He won’t read it yet, Ilgaz says, keep him busy, tell him we have nothing yet. First, we have to investigate if this is connected to the incident. It’s a large sum of money that was never accounted for.
Pars wanders through Neva’s place. I see kintsugi was her hobby. Pars picks up a completed vase and lets it fall to the floor. He pulls the pieces of a dish she was working on, off the table.
Ceylin finishes most of the unpacking and arranging. Then Ilcey sit and relax. She asks if he checked on Pars. Yes, we took him to Neva’s. Ceylin says she’s tried calling him several times but he hasn’t answered. He may need something or someone to be with him. I don’t know if I should go to his house with food. Ilgaz says Pars wants to be alone.
And how are you, Ceylin asks. [Turkish] I’m in pain, he replies, the person I knew intimately, about whom I knew everything, disappeared in an instant. I can’t hear her voice…. See her face… seeing her in the morgue. Ceylin tells him, if you want to cry, don’t hold back for my sake. He nods and says she’s wonderful.
Derya shows up at the crime lab. She asks, is he in there? Goksu says yes. He kicked everyone out and won’t allow us back inside. Derya enters and she finds Pars sitting on the floor. I think he has pieces of the dish Neva was working on. He asks, how did you know I’d be here? She replies, when we can’t say goodbye, you can’t stay away from this place for very long.
Derya asks Pars what he’s holding. Neva would gather everything carefully, Pars says. [Turkish] She collected everything that was destroyed. She collected both me and herself when we were broken. He sobs, how did I fail to protect my sister? She was entrusted to me by my parents. She was still so young. I was a terrible brother! I want to fall off the face of the Earth! Derya reaches out and holds him. She cries with him and tells him, this will pass. It won’t, he replies, It won’t. I died with her. Only difference is you won’t have to bury me.
Ceylin wakes Ilgaz for breakfast. [That’s a change.] At the table he asks, but doesn’t really want to ask, what did you do with your client? I dropped the case, she replies, I told Mujde to find another lawyer. She was obviously upset. I told her the case is in good hands, DA Ilgaz and Eren would find the culprit. Ilgaz tells her it’s better this way. Thank you.
Metin is renting the bottom floor of the house. [What happened to Makbule? Where and why did she go? Maybe she went off with AG Melih.] A woman comes by to see it.
Aylin speaks with Cetin by phone as she leaves the house Yes, I’m available tonight. Gul leaves the house and notices Aylin. I don’t think she can hear anything.
Yekta is getting ready for another day of liens, when Aysun calls him. Good news, I found Mrs. Lacin’s address.
Is this Metin’s replacement? Eren and other cops are in his office. Pars is there, too. The new guy is not happy with the progress on the case. The information leak was embarrassing. He orders everyone to focus on this case. There are 4 bodies and one witness. And more remains. This is in the middle of Istanbul! A very important judge was murdered. The sister of our AG. No excuses! He dismisses the crew. The chief asks Pars if he wants tea. Not necessary, Pars replies, congrats on your promotion. Keep me updated.
Defne holds out her clenched hands to Ilgaz and says, pick one. Nothing in either hand. Grandpa showed her how to do a trick. Ilgaz asks Merdan about Makbule. He says she will visit occasionally, we’ll make it work. Cinar comes out of his room. He mentions that Ilgaz has someone keeping an eye on him.
Eren calls Ilgaz with an update from Forensics. One of the men was murdered with the knife we found. Neva’s prints were on it.
A note was left on Ilgaz’s windshield. “If Ceylin Erguvan doesn’t leave the knife you found in the first drawer of the nightstand on the left side of room 6108 of the Erwens Hotel at midnight, you’ll find more bodies. She goes alone. No police. He’s stunned. Ceylin comes out of the house and he quickly hides the note the note in a folder.
Ceylin gets the sense that Ilgaz is hiding something. He answers no, but if I had to, I’d do it to protect you, he tells her.
Pars walks through the courthouse not acknowledging anyone who speaks to him. He stops at Ridvan’s desk and asks for a file. Ridvan doesn’t know what to do or say. I’m still in shock, he says, I’m so sorry. May I offer my condolences? Pars keeps his eyes on the file and answers, don’t. It doesn’t matter. It’s pointless. He tells Ridvan to take the files and come in the office. These are to be sealed. No one can know, not even Ozge. And get me the strongest coffee we have.
Pars runs into Derya in the hallway. She asks if he’s okay. No, I’m not, he replies, and I don’t think it will be easy for me to be okay. She reaches out to touch his face. She says he can count on her. He flinches and walks away without a word.
The woman has seen Makbule’s apartment. She loves the yard. She asks if she will be able to use it and Metin says yes. He tells her that he lives on the top floor and his son and wife are below. Think it over, he says. She says there’s nothing to think about. Her mind was made up when she stepped into the garden. I’ll rent the apartment.
Merdan comes out and sees them. He asks what’s going on. Ms. Aytem came to see the apartment, Metin replies. Merdan doesn’t look to happy about this. Is he suspicious of something? She leaves her number and Metin says he’ll call her tonight.
Ilgaz drops off Ceylin. She suggests pizza for tonight and then going to see Pars. He says he will be working late with Eren. As soon as Ilgaz drives off, Ceylin walks away.
Ilgaz calls Eren and tells him to send a team to the Erwens Hotel right away. Find out if anyone is staying in Room 6108. They need to search the room even if it’s empty. Eren asks what’s happening. Ilgaz says he’ll tell later. Have them find out who was the last person who stayed there. Get security video. Examine the state of the building. Have them ask for a list of staff and management.
Eren says, ok, if you’re done, can you tell me what’s going on? I’m on my way to the station, Ilgaz replies, I’ll fill you in there. Before he hangs up Ilgaz adds, I also want footage of what took place outside my home. Have someone identify who came near my car between yesterday afternoon and this morning.
Yekta is on the phone with Aysun. He’s annoyed and wondering if she gave him the correct address. She asks him to double check using the GPS on his phone. He has no idea how to do that. He says that’s why people hire employees. Figure this out now! [Why is he ordering her and why is she jumping at his command?] She sends a message to him. Click on the link, she says, and it will take you to the address. He starts walking.
Ridvan shows files to Pars about the remains that were found. Pars wants to see the report of the search in Neva’s home. Ridvan says it’s not here. He requested them, but they haven’t sent that one over. Pars orders him to ask for it again. I want it in 5 minutes. I don’t want to go there. Tell them the AG asked for it.
Ceylin meets stalker boy at a restaurant. He’s late. She’s set up the notary. She sees he looks worried. He is nervous and says it’s because he’s late. He’s never late. I don’t want to make a bad impression, he says, I don’t like fights, conflicts or arguments.
Ilgaz meets Eren at the crime lab. Eren has assigned teams to all of Ilgaz’s tasks. The talk about the possibility that Neva killed someone. Ilgaz finds it hard to believe. Eren tells him Pars asked for the report. Ilgaz says to keep him busy. What do we tell him, Eren asks.
Pars is pissed over the missing report. Ridvan says Eren went to Forensics and they said Eren would bring the report. Pars thinks Eren is holding on to the report and he’s going to the station. Ridvan looks worried.
Ceylin and stalker boy arrive at the hospital and find two a-holes recording a girl in a dress who is one flight up the stairs from them. Ceylin calls them on it and says, you can face up to 6 years in prison. Sexual harassment. She grabs the phone.
The girl hears all this and comes down the stairs. Ceylin shows her the video and says she can delete the pics or press charges. She hands the girl her card and says she’d love to take her case. The girl tells the idiots off. She deletes the pics. She doesn’t want to deal with them and walks away.
Ceylin is disappointed. She goes to hand the phone back and, oops, she drops it. The guy gets angry and stalker boy interjects that Ceylin is married to a prosecutor. The guys back down and Ceylin gives them a final warning.
Ceylin approaches the girl again with the names of the culprits. She asks again about pressing charges. I can be a witness. I saw them taking the video. Tolga is the stalker boy’s name and he’s also a witness. Ceylin persists. They will do the same again if you stay quiet. Keep my card and think it over.
The ME shows the knife to Ilgaz and Eren. It’s the knife that killed the man and Neva’s prints are on it. Ilgaz says they can’t conclude she killed him just from that. Eren says they already did. Goksu adds if we consider Neva’s height, she’s a likely suspect.
Ilgaz asks how the others died. One woman died from a blow to the head and the other man’s jugular vein was cut. Eren says Neva couldn’t have killed them all. Ilgaz says he needs to turn this over to Pars.
Yekta has reached the destination. He knocks at the door. Poor Lacin comes to answer not knowing what awaits on the other side. She’s frightened and quickly closes the door. Yekta speaks to her through the closed door.
Lacin is panicking on the other end. Yekta begins, Lacin… I never meant to scare you. Can you open the door? We’ve accumulated many memories over the years [probably 99.9% of them bad for her.] You’re scared because I came unannounced. You’re right. But you wouldn’t see me otherwise. I’m not well, Lacin. Please open the door.
“Yekta goes on and on.” He begs her to open the door. I’m a vagabond at your door. I’ve swallowed my pride and honor. [and if Lacin swallows this, she’s stupid] Will she open?
Mujde signs for the notary. Tolga senses Mujde does not like him. Ceylin says she thinks your young and inexperienced. But I told her you are working with me.
Tolga asks Mujde how Mehmetcan is doing. He’s still not awake, she says, the police and DA Ilgaz keep asking. They want his statement. They want to know if I know the people found with Mehmetcan. Mujde asks Ceylin not to leave her. Ceylin assures her she has everything under control.
Ceylin sees Metin at the hospital. She asks him if he’s sick. No, he replies, my boss is sick with a migraine. Ceylin is surprised. Where are you working? He’s head of security at Dolapdere. That’s all she wanted to know and walks away.
I think Metin’s boss is the same Haluk Yekta wanted to work for. Metin had a very strange look on his face when he entered Haluk’s room. Something doesn’t seem right.
Derya wants Melis to come to the morgue to identify Elif. She’s scared and doesn’t want to go. Derya understands but Elif doesn’t have family. It’s your civic duty, she says, to help the authorities. I’ll be with you. We need to do this for your friend’s sake. Derya sees Pars enter the station.
Pars bursts into the chief’s office. He’s angry and gets right down to it. Why did I have to come here to get the report of your search at Neva’s home? The chief doesn’t understand. Did we make a mistake in hiring you, Pars asks. Where’s the report?
Derya is about to leave with Melis when Eren and Ilgaz arrive at the station. She tells them that Pars is with the chief.
Lacin has let Yekta in, not to embarrass him further. Yekta looks around and comments, I didn’t know you were so fond of color. Everything is so bright and inviting. You chose well. If only this was our home. You’re wishing it were, she asks in astonishment, for this to be our home? Did you ever ask about my likes and dislikes? Did you care? You wish you had now?
Yekta notices a painting on the wall. He laughs at it. You still like these pieces? Who’s the painter? She asks, why did you come? What do you want from me? Nothing, he replies, I’ll take bitter coffee if you have it. That’s all. Catch that look on Yekta’s face when she leaves the room. She should never have let him in.
Lacin tries to catch her breath in the kitchen. She reaches for her phone.
Ceylin gives Tolga instructions. Schedule a meeting with DA Ilgaz. His assistant, Ozge is a little difficult, but I like her. If you speak nicely and politely, you’ll get the meeting. Ilgaz will say you can view the report when it’s uploaded but don’t let that fool you. Remain steadfast and ask for a physical copy. If necessary, pressure Ozge a bit. You’ll succeed thanks to me. Tolga is a bit worried, he knows that Ilgaz is a competent DA.
Lacin has called Ceylin. Come to my house, Yekta is here. How is that possible, Ceylin asks, how did he find the house? I don’t know, Lacin replies, he asked me for coffee. Come over! Ceylin asks if she should call the police. No, Lacin says, having you here is enough. Ceylin is on her way.
Melis freaks out at the morgue. Derya tries to calm her. Derya understands it’s difficult. Easy for you to say, Melis tells her. This is part of your job. I can’t see my friend like this.
Derya says, I saw my husband on one of those slabs. I wasn’t a DA then, I was his wife. This isn’t easy for anyone. I also understand why you’re scared. But sometimes you have to be brave. Life forces you. We really need your help. Your friend is in there, she really needs you. We need to find whoever did this.
Lacin lets Ceylin in. Immediately she shouts, where is he? Yekta! Where are you? Lacin stops her. Yekta is here, Lacin says, he’s upstairs showering. You must be joking, Ceylin replies. She’s very upset.
Ceylin bangs on the bathroom door. Come out! We hear Yekta singing in the shower, but we are not spared seeing Yekta in the shower. Ceylin continues to bang…Come out! Come on, come out! Yekta responds, what was that Lacin? I can’t hear you? He thinks it’s funny.
Cinar brings tea to Eren and Ilgaz. Ilgaz asks him if he saw anything strange when he left the house. Cinar doesn’t answer. It has nothing to do with you, Ilgaz assures him, it’s something else. Strange, like what, Cinar asks. Anyone suspicious near my car, Ilgaz asks. No. Cinar wants to know what happened. Ilgaz says it’s not important.
Cinar leaves and Eren asks Ilgaz are you finally going to tell me what’s going on?
No time for an explanation because Pars and the Chief enter Eren’s office. Ilgaz knows Chief Rafet. Yes, the chief says, it’s been a long time, but fate brings us together. Today’s my first day. Ilgaz congratulates him. Pars interrupts, if you’re done with the greetings, I’ll come out and say it. Where is the report of the search of Neva’s house?
And we are out.
Boy, oh, boy, the plot thickens! Thanks, dondi, fantastic recap as always.
Pars, in his pain, has reverted to the closed off person he was before he let Ilgaz, Eren, and Derya into his life.
One thing I appreciated about Ceylin last night...she went back to speak to Pars after the tongue lashing he gave her. And she embraced the poor, suffering guy.
Thanks, dondi, for explaining about the stickers covering the expiration dates. I couldn't understand why Ceylin even had a case.
I really want Tolgas to be good and helping Ceylin. But I have this awful feeling about all these newer characters...that all roads lead back to Yekta.
Amen on something wrong about Aylin's date with the guy she met online. Another Yekta plant?
Ceylin really doesn't deserve Ilgaz. He made it very clear to her that he's not giving up this important murder case, nor should he. Instead of respecting the very honorable man she's managed to land, she gets devious in order to find a workaround.
Is Cinar the leak at police HQ? You are right, dondi, about that reporter "grooming" him. I just hope he wasn't the one who leaked the name on the watch.
What, no APB on Serdar? How is he still at large?
Thanks for explaining kinsugi. I'd seen this sort of pottery before but didn't know the word for it.
Yes, indeed, why is Aysun helping Yekta? Hasn't that famously rabid press revealed all his sins on the front page?
I DO NOT understand why the mystery note writer wants Ceylin to bring the knife. [More knife stuff! I know they have guns in Turkey because I've seen lots of them fired, especially in Hercai.]
I was happy to see Merdan suspicious of the new tenant. I felt the same way. Yekta? OTOH he seems to be too broke to leave the electric light on, so how is he doing all this?
Does Ceylin care about the girl whose dress was looked up and photographed, or is she trying to hustle clients?
I really couldn't STAND it when Lacin let that cockroach into her lovely new space. I guess we're supposed to think she's incapable of standing up for herself. I can think of a good scene with a knife when Yekta comes out of the shower.
Dondi356: I've heard about William Levy's upcoming Telenovela is going to debut on October 9th. Big question is whether it'll be on the 7:00 PM CST timeslot or 8:00 PM CST or 9:00 PM CST timeslot ?
Steve Boudreaux
Thank you, dondi356.
"Looks like she might have found herself a replacement for Engin." - exactly.
And yes, Aylin's new guy is also up to something.
"He asks if he has time to think it over. She says no and threatens to tell Zeliha what he did with the supermarket file." - that's blackmailing a guy into working for her. Even if he was willing, he may become resentful.
People in these shows never look in the peephole before opening the door. Lacin never should have let Yecta in. Why doesn't she have a restraining order against him? She should get one right away.
Secretos is not on tonight in my area. MLS soccer is on. Messi's Miami team is playing Cincinnati. After that, Los 50 is on. This is East Coast. Don't know what's happening in other time zones.
Hi Steve, I wonder about the schedule starting Oct 9, too. With 2 hour episodes, Secretos might be over by then. If Secretos is still airing, I hope they reduce it to one hour eps.
Thank you novelera and Lucio.
ITA, novelera, that was a nice scene between Ceylin and Pars. I don’t trust Tolga either. And “Ceylin doesn’t deserve Ilgaz”.
Yes, Lucio, people never look through the peepholes. I really thought Ceylin got that restraining order on Yekta along with the divorce. But I guess not.
Recap is coming shortly.
Yikes! My DirecTV guide says it's on tonight at 9PM, for two hours like always. Maybe it's one of those shows where they recap what's happened before. I can't BELIEVE they'd show us West Coasters an episode that the East Coast doesn't get!
"And I can fight for everything and for everyone that I find true, justified and beautiful..." - Nâzım Hikmet
Pars asks for the report on Neva’s home search. Ilgaz turns to Eren and asks, you have it, don’t you? Eren hands it over. Pars scolds Eren and leaves the room. Rafet tells Eren not to let this happen again.
Melis finally works up the courage to view the body. It’s Elif. The girl is devastated and Derya comforts her.
Eren reads the note that was left on Ilgaz’s car. How is Ceylin involved, he asks. Ilgaz would like to know this too. Eren thinks the culprit left the knife on purpose. Or he knows we found it, Ilgaz says, it’s because the girl’s name was leaked. We don’t know if this one person or a group of murderers. We know nothing! Ilgaz is frustrated—we need Mehmetcan’s statement.
Eren realizes this is why Ilgaz asked for all those things to be done. Ilgaz says we are going on a mission together. Only we will know about it. They are interrupted by Goksu. Ilgaz had asked her to come. He gives her the note to test for prints. Don’t read it, don’t tell anyone. It’s confidential. When you’re done bring it to Eren.
Ilgaz and Eren watch footage related to Ilgaz’s car. There isn’t a full view of the car on camera.
A cop gives a report on the hotel. An elderly Italian couple is staying in the room. Ilgaz asks that the couple be moved and that the surrounding rooms stay empty. Eren says to make a list of anyone who is staying there. Keep the team watching the entrance, Ilgaz adds, and get blueprints of the hotel.
Poor Melis is sick to her stomach. She can’t believe her friend is dead.
Ilgaz and Eren listen to the recording of the anonymous tip. [It sounds female, but it also sounds like a recorded voice to me.] “I want to report a crime in Erenkoy. There’s a body in a well.” Ilgaz wonders why she said there’s just one body. There wasn’t a camera at the location of the call.
Derya reports that Elif was identified. She says she remembers Elif from somewhere but can’t place her.
Pars shouts for Eren and upbraids him. I asked if you found something at Neva’s home! You didn’t say a word! You didn’t mention money! You both knew and kept it from me on purpose! Ilgaz takes full responsibility for this. Pars asks why he did this. Because you are the AG, but you are also the victim’s brother. I wanted to be sure of the facts.
Pars replies, then take my statement. I’ll tell you what happened. Rafet asks Eren to stop at his office later.
Ceylin is beside herself. She can’t believe Lacin let Yekta in. We worked hard to be rid of him! Now he will worm his way back into our lives. Lacin says she didn’t know what to do. He wouldn’t leave and kept begging. Ceylin asks if he threatened her. What did he say? No, Lacin replies, he was as quiet as a cat. So you pitied the poor beast, Ceylin fumes, and had him take a shower to feel better?
Lacin defends her choice, he was insistent, and he smelled very bad. I felt sorry for him. [she’s the only one.] What should I have done? Viewerville and Ceylin shout, you should have kicked him out!
Pars sits at the interrogation table. Ilgaz says, don’t do this. Go to your office and I’ll question you there. Pars barks, I’m the AG. I’ll give my statement wherever I want and whenever. I want to show you how to do things with transparency! Pars tells Ilgaz, I know you are suspicious of the money found and you kept it from me in case it became an issue. If that’s the case, ask and I’ll tell you.
Derya and Eren watch behind the glass. Now she understands what happened better. She’s sorry Eren was caught between a rock and a hard place. He wishes he could split himself in two. She comments, it would be great to have two Erens.
Pars starts, Neva went on vacation with Cuneyt. She called me. Flashback. Neva walks to the beach. She cries. She calls Pars who is having lunch with Derya. He knows right away something is wrong by the sound of her voice. I wish you were here with me, she whimpers, I wish you were by my side. Pars asks her to calm down and tell him what happened.
Cuneyt stole money from Yekta, Neva says, from the company. A large sum of money. He did it while Yekta was detained. When we were helping Ceylin. He hid the money at my house. What will I do now, she sobs. There’s only one thing to do, Pars replies, take the first flight home and bring that idiot to me. Then go home, get the money, and kick him out.
Neva begs Pars not to do this. She asks him to get a copy of her house key. Pars tells her that idiot should come and get his money. Neva whines, but I don’t want to leave him. While Neva talks, we see a man nearby on his phone. It looks like the man Aylin had the date with.
Neva starts to make excuses for Cuneyt. She asks Pars, if you don’t help me, who will? Pars is adamant, leave that bastard or I’ll never talk to you again. [ugh, his final words to her] She hangs up on him. Pars goes back to Derya.
Back to Neva’s vacation and we hear Cuneyt fighting with others. We also see Aylin’s date watching with interest. End flash.
Pars calls Cuneyt a coward and a bastard. After that, he called Neva many times, but she never answered. She never replied to his messages. Then she came back, he says, and you know the rest.
We get another flashback. Metin is at the airport and sees Neva arriving. He calls to her, are you okay? She shakes her head and hops into a taxi. Metin is there to pick up Haluk. Haluk asks him if he knows that girl. She was on his flight and very upset. End flash
.
Pars says it’s an endless chain of possibilities. Where did she go? Who did she meet? Ilgaz says she turned her phone off after the airport and didn’t turn it back on. We have no knowledge of what she did next.
Flashback. We see Neva get out of the taxi with her suitcase and head to a bench, where Yekta is waiting for her. He says, how can I help you on this beautiful afternoon? We see Tolga with a woman in a wheelchair, a short distance away. They look over at Neva and Yekta. End flash.
Pars says Neva’s car wasn’t parked outside her house. Did you look into that? Ilgaz says they are investigating everything Neva could have done. We’ll find out where she went after that.
Flashback. We see Neva get in her car. Lurking Serdar watches her go.
Ilgaz says they know Neva dyed her hair. We are talking to the stylists in the area.
Flashback. We see Neva coming out of the hair salon with the stylist. It’s the woman who rented the house from Metin. The reporter who befriended Cinar is nearby having an argument with his girlfriend. The gf leaves and Neva walks closer to the reporter. Do they know each other? The reporter leaves. Neva looks at her phone. End flash.
Ilgaz assures Pars they are investigating everything. We will find out what happened to Neva and the others. Pars says it’s Ilgaz’s job to find out. He signs his statement. He asks if there is anything else Ilgaz is hiding. Furtive looks between Ilgaz and Eren. Ilgaz tells Pars that Neva’s prints were found on the knife in the well. One of the victims was killed with that knife. Pars gasps for air.
Yekta is out of the shower. Is he wearing Lacin’s robe?
Ceylin calls Aylin to say she can’t come to the office. Take the files to court, I’ll be there for the trial.
Lacin and Ceylin head towards the bedroom, where Yekta is getting dressed. He’s rifling through the drawers. Ceylin bangs on the door. Yekta! You have 3 minutes, then I’ll call the police. Get dressed and come out! Just a second, he lies, I’m still naked. I haven’t put on my costume yet. Don’t rush me, I’m an old man. Will you kick me out while I’m still naked? Yekta continues to search the room.
Pars threatens, if you keep anything else from me, you’re fired. You have to keep me informed of everything. He asks Derya if she’s going to the courthouse. Yes. Let’s go together, he says.
Eren tells Ilgaz, he reprimanded us, threatened us. We have to tell him about the note. You saw the state he was in, Ilgaz answers, he’s blind right now. He’s acting illogically and won’t think of his friends. He’s questioning himself. You know why, Eren replies, his sister is dead! That’s exactly what Ilgaz is talking about. Eren argues that Pars has a right to know. Forget about your situation right now! We need to tell Pars, then we do things our way. We can do the operation without Ceylin.
Ilgaz thinks if they tell Pars, he will involve Ceylin and she’s always ready for this sort of thing. Eren says they will talk him out of it. Ilgaz is done talking. Ceylin is his wife. It’s his duty to protect her. We’ll do this and catch the bastard who asked for the knife.
Ceylin warns fully dressed Yekta not to come back or she’ll call the cops and file a restraining order. Yekta ignores that. He compliments Lacin on her looks. I hope we meet again soon, he tells her. Thanks for everything. Why are you still talking, Ceylin says, leave!
Yekta goes and Ceylin turns to Lacin. Next time he shows up, call the police. Don’t do this again. Don’t let him come after us again. Lacin promises not to let him in. Ceylin tells her to check the house for anything missing. We see Yekta has taken a key.
Pars tells Derya she is helping the case without his permission. Derya says she’s helping for his sake. Being empathetic isn’t against the rules. Then show empathy, he replies. They are doing whatever they want. They don’t give me information. Now that you’re working with them, gather the information and share it with me.
Derya asks the driver to stop the car and she gets out. So does Pars. She asks, do I look like a snitch or a disposable tool? I won’t play the spy game. Sorry, AG Pars. Feel free to reprimand me. You’re my girlfriend and I’m asking you to help me, he replies, it’s obvious they are working together and hiding something. I need someone on my side.
Girlfriend, Derya asks, what are you talking about? We were just having fun. Pars stops her from going and asks, what’s the matter? She says, you had been angry with Neva for 10 days and I hadn’t noticed, and you’ve been distant since your appointment. I felt alone. Now it’s your turn. She walks. Pars tells his driver he’s walking and heads in the opposite direction.
Yekta catches a ride on the dolmuş. Ozgur spots him but can’t get to him in time. He takes a taxi to follow him.
Rafet reprimands Eren and warns him. If you get me in trouble, I’ll show no mercy. Ilgaz comes in and intercedes on Eren’s behalf. He did what I asked. If you have objections, come to my office and say it to my face. Then I won’t show you any mercy.
Tolga shows up at the station to introduce himself as Mehmetcan’s lawyer and ask for the case files. Ilgaz asks if the boy is awake yet. He’s not. Ilgaz gives the answer that Ceylin predicted—you can see them when they are uploaded to the system. Tolga doesn’t argue and Ilgaz and Eren leave the station to have soup.
Ceylin barely makes it to the court for the trial.
Goksu examines the note. She leaves it to get her phone and calls Eren. There’s nothing on the note. Ilgaz says to destroy the note. Goksu goes back to the lab and realizes the note has been moved. She shreds the note.
Rafet gets a message. It’s a picture of the note.
Ozgur grabs Yekta. He says he was in prison and he’s been after Yekta since he got out. You ruined my life! [as if he himself had nothing to do with it.] I’m here to get what’s mine, he says, and that’s good enough for me. They (cops) wanted to find Serdar. I was questioned day and night. News traveled and clients stopped coming to my store, then it was attacked.
You said you were strong, Ozgur continues, you said, don’t worry, I’ll always be with you. I want twice as much as you originally promised. Yekta pushes Ozgur away. Sure, he snarks, would you like anything else? They teamed up to steal everything from me. All my accounts, national and international, were seized. My ex kept whatever was left. All I have is my life. Ozgur doesn’t care. He wants his money. I’ll seek you out every day until I get it… or I’ll stomp on your neck.
Ceylin wins the supermarket case. A decisive victory. A proud Aylin is in the gallery.
A cop reports on the hotel. There are 24 floors, 2 front entrances, 2 rear exits. Two rooms on a floor, 6108 is on the 6th, Our floor is empty, and our teams are in the rooms. Officers have taken over for staff and housekeeping. The building is surrounded.
Eren wants to empty the building. Ilgaz is against it. We will deal with him quietly without scaring anyone. He’s probably watching the hotel. Let him think we are playing by his rules. He can come and get his knife. Ilgaz asks for a sniper.
Eren hands over a list of guests who stayed in the room in the last 6 months. Two have priors. One is in prison, the other is abroad. No one at the hotel has priors. Ilgaz asks for a female officer who looks like Ceylin. Eren doesn’t look happy about that.
Derya asks Ozge to review and search files for Elif Yavas. Pars is waiting by Derya’s office. She walks right past him without a word and closes the door in his face.
Rafet shows Pars the message with the note. He says Ilgaz had it dusted for prints. This is his doing and I’m showing it to you.
Ceylin comes looking for Pars, but he’s out. She runs into Derya. Ceylin asks her about Pars. Derya says, he’s like a bomb, exploding all the time. She warns Ceylin not to get too close. Ceylin says she already got a taste of his anger, but she understands him. It’s normal, it will pass. Derya hopes so and invites Ceylin for coffee. Ceylin already has plans with Aylin. Ridvan was lurking nearby.
Ceylin and Aylin have pide for lunch. Ceylin wants details from her. The lipstick, the constant messages. Aylin fibs. Ceylin isn’t buying it. Aylin comes clean---there’s someone. Ceylin wants to know everything. He’s a doctor, Aylin says, his name is Cetin.
Slight edits on this scene: Metin visits Kiymet’s grave. He plants flowers. He tells her Defne is growing up and tells her finances are tough. He’s renting the apartment to a woman. When he’s done there, he stops at Zafer’s grave and starts to care for it. Gul comes to the cemetery. She sees Metin planting flowers at Zafer’s grave and gets emotional. Metin has also planted flowers for Inci.
Metin leaves and Gul approaches the graves. Anger rises up in her. She throws the tools he left behind. She shouts, leave us alone! Why are you touching her? She begins to rip out the flowers Metin planted.
Metin goes back for his tools and sees raving Gul. He turns to go and she calls him. Why do you dirty their graves with your dirty hands? With your dirty flowers? He says they are just flowers, they don’t dirty anything.
“Gul goes on and on.” They are yours, Gul shouts, your flowers dirty them! Is this the way you ease your guilt? You think you can ease the guilt you and Cinar feel this way? It’s not going to happen! Metin says, I know what I did was wrong and I’m sorry. I won’t do it again. She shouts, don’t do it! Don’t do it! Look after your son the murderer. So he doesn’t kill more innocent people and fill the cemeteries. [I’d love to remind her that Zafer tried to kill Cinar.]
Metin turns back to Gul, I made a mistake, I’ve sinned and God has issued his sentence. He will continue to punish me. I know no amount of begging will get me your forgiveness, but keep your anger away from my children. Cinar was acquitted by the law. He didn’t kill Zafer! If you want to be angry, let it be at me. He storms off.
Eren puts a knife in a bag that’s similar to the real weapon. Officer Hande, the Ceylin look alike, enters. Ilgaz tells her she’ll dress like Ceylin. He gives her clothes. The mission will take place at night. Let your hair down and cover your face.
Pars and Rafet enter Eren’s office. Pars tells Hande and Rafet to leave. He tells Ilgaz, the deceased is my sister, your ex-fiancée. He turns to Eren—she was your friend. Did you ever think of that? Three others were murdered. Don’t you want to find the murderer? You worked hard after Ceylin’s sister was murdered. You even helped with the toothbrush story. I know I lost it two hours ago when I gave my statement. I ask, why are you still hiding things from me?
We are doing the right thing, Ilgaz replies. Pars shouts, you should have told me! Chief Rafet came to me with a picture of a note you had dusted for prints. That’s how I found out. You’re working in secret. And where is Ceylin? Ilgaz says that Ceylin isn’t participating. A police officer will take her place. Everything is ready. We are handling it.
Pars asks, who are you trying to fool? She doesn’t look like Ceylin. He will know. We can’t miss our only chance because you feel protective. The murderer will get away because of you. Can’t we keep Ceylin under control and protect her? Ilgaz is adamant, Ceylin is not going. Pars asks Eren to come with him.
Pars tells Eren, you know I don’t have to convince anyone. Tell that to your friend who brings his problems to work. I’ll never forget your lies, Eren. You’re a false friend. [he’s forgotten prior “betrayals”, so I’m not too worried.] Pars gets in his car.
Cinar’s reporter friend is lurking. Cinar comes out and he looks around. Reporter asks, what’s going on, everyone is tense. I’m here to pay you back, Cinar says, I have good news. Do you know about the well? There was a child down there and he’s alive. He’s at the hospital. [Why’d ya do it, Cinar?!]
Eren goes back to his office and Ilgaz wants to know what Pars said. Who am I telling, Eren asks, Ilgaz or the DA? The DA. Eren says nothing. Ok, then, talk to Ilgaz.
Eren shuts the door and asks, why did you leave me alone in this mess? Two days ago we planned to go on vacation next year and Pars was there with us. Now he looks like he wants to kill me. He’s close to not wanting anything to do with me! Rafet is expecting me upstairs! He will make me pay for what you did. We made a very big mistake! We should have told him! We should have explained!
It’s Eren’s turn to go “on and on”. We should have told him Ceylin can’t be involved, we could have convinced him but that chance is long gone. Ilgaz says to get the officer ready, she will go instead of Ceylin. Poor Eren says, Allah’im sabır ver ya, God give me patience.
Ceylin sets up a social media account for Aylin and shows her how to use it. Find future BIL Dr. Cetin.
Pars makes a (not so) surprise visit to Ceylin’s office. Are you alone, he asks. No, my sister is inside. He says, meet me downstairs and we’ll will go for a walk. I have something to tell you.
Aylin searches for Dr. Cetin. No results found. [Red flag, Aylin, red flag!]
Ayten signs the lease for the apartment. She hands over security deposit and first month’s rent in cash. Metin says, I haven’t even asked what you do for a living. She says, I won’t be late with the rent. I’m able to support myself, I’m a manicurist and I work in a salon. Metin needs to go to the hospital. He shakes hands with Ayten. Congrats. And there’s grandpa Merdan watching from above.
Pars shows the note to Ceylin. Her reaction is, why me? Pars theorizes it’s because her client’s son was rescued from the well. Ceylin asks if the knife is a murder weapon. Pars is silent. She says, if you’re going to ask for my help, you need to give me something. Pars tells her about the knife and the connection to Neva. Neva killed someone? Pars doesn’t want to hear that, and Ceylin quickly apologizes.
Ceylin says Ilgaz never mentioned the note. Pars says he hid it from everyone. He’s sending someone else instead of you. But what if she’s found out? We will lose our only chance to catch the killer. The knife is important to the killer. This could be our chance. Let’s say we don’t. Nevertheless, making contact is important. If he makes any mistakes, we’ll track him down, and if it goes as planned, we find the killer. I want you to assist us by participating in the mission. Think you can help us? She needs to think about it.
Merdan is entertaining the young ladies who are waiting for Cinar to come home. Cinar doesn’t look too happy to see them. It’s hard to find good friends nowadays, Merdan tells him, be a welcoming host so they will want to come back. Cinar gives a non-welcoming, welcome. Why are you here at night? Merdan says he is embarrassed by the way Cinar is treating the girls. Then he excuses himself from the table, but he doesn’t go very far and listens in.
Tugce says they came to apologize for the other night. He says it doesn’t matter. She continues, I told them we shouldn’t say anything, but we’re sick of your obsession with Serdar. Merve says, you’re only working at the station because of that idiot. Eren is after him, Tugce says, they will find him soon. Merve says, if I was Serdar, I’d be abroad by now. Parla adds, of course he’s not here. [they give Serdar too much credit]
Cinar asks, why do you care? He ruined my life! And what did I do? I didn’t stop. I made a mess of everyone’s life. My father had to retire. His case is ongoing, my case is ongoing. And let’s talk about Ilgaz. He’s very noble. When I was suspected of killing Inci, Ceylin trusted me. And what did I do? I ruined her life! I’ve ruined everyone’s life. No one looks at me, they are too ashamed. I feel like garbage. And you show up as if to mock me, asking me to let it be. He gets up.
Parla says they are here to support him. She asks him to sit. Let’s talk about it. Maybe we have something to tell you, too. Merdan goes into the house.
Ilgaz and Eren have a link board set up for their caper. Eren finds out that there will be a wedding at the hotel. Ceylin shows up declaring—I will give my life for justice. I bring pastry! Cheese, beef and potato. What do you want? The guys stare at her.
What’s wrong, she asks. I was a member here once upon a time. Besides, this place is boring without me. She plants herself in a seat, tell me boys, how is it going? Ilgaz tells her they are in the middle of something important.
Ceylin says, sometimes you have to take a break. You need to eat. The guys don’t move. She knows something is up. Ceylin knows they agreed not to meddle in each other’s affairs, so she says she won’t. I brought pastries, I’d like to get a “thank you”. “It’s kind to think of us.” I’d like to hear (looking at Ilgaz), “I missed my wife.” What’s the matter with you?
Ilgaz thanks her. Eren and I will eat, but I think you should leave. You’re kicking me out, she asks. Ilgaz says this is a secret mission. So there’s nothing of interest for me, she asks. Nothing, Ilgaz replies. Ceylin leaves.
Cinar told the girls he found Serdar’s home and he found a new friend. I’ll introduce him to you. He’s charming. We support each other and help each other out. Tugce is skeptical—I hope you don’t get yourself in trouble. [too late.] Cinar says that Serdar’s life is a total lie. His mother is disabled and lives in that house. If I was able to find his house, I’ll find him no matter where he’s hiding.
Tugce says, let us help you. (We see Merdan listening from the balcony.) We were with you at your lowest. If we don’t do this, we will feel like we abandoned you. We know you can’t forget but you can’t obsess over it either. Cinar softens. He says we have a deal. Merdan smiles.
Ceylin leaves the station. Pars is waiting for her outside. She tells him they are still hiding. What do we do now, Pars asks. Ceylin says, let’s go inside.
Eren and Ilgaz go over last-minute details as Pars and Ceylin walk in. Pars says Ceylin is here to participate in the mission you two bastards put together. We will brief her, give her instructions, and get everything ready. It’s 8:20, there’s still time. Ilgaz says this is not going to happen. Stay out of this and don’t hurt our family.
Pars replies, we all have family, Ilgaz. Neva did. Ceylin does. She will participate so we can catch the murderer or murderers. She agreed to help. Ilgaz argues, we have an officer ready, she’s the one who’s going. Ceylin interrupts, in case you haven’t noticed, I’m here, too. I can decide for myself. Why don’t you ask me? Or should I decide for myself? To Ilgaz’s dismay, Ceylin says she will participate in the mission.
Aylin waits by the embankment for Cetin. He calls out to her from a yacht. He wants them to have dinner on the boat. They set off immediately.
Ilcey speak privately. They are both angry. Why are you doing this, he asks. Why did you keep this from me, she replies. He wants to protect her, she doesn’t want to be protected. She asks, can you silence that voice inside you? You can’t protect me by disregarding me or keeping things from me. It’s hurtful. It didn’t work, Ilgaz replies, you volunteered right away. I made my choice, she tells him, keep me safe now.
Ilgaz says he was going to tell her but there was no time. (?) She asks why she was chosen. He doesn’t know but it worries him. Maybe because of Mehmetcan or maybe because I’m the DA in charge. I don’t know. That’s why I wanted you away from this. Tell me you’ll follow our instructions, he asks…. Promise me. She promises.
Aylin scrolls through patient pics on Cetin’s phone. It’s what I do, he says, I save lives. [this guy is sickening to me.] He tells a story about a 6 yr old he saved and she gave him a bracelet. Aylin spots a tattoo on his wrist. He says that’s a bit of a tragic story. She tells him he doesn’t have to share… oh, but he must. It’s the name of the only patient I made a mistake with, he says, I had the name tattooed so I wouldn’t make the same mistake again.
Cetin asks her if she likes the boat. Of course she does. She says she’s only been on the ferry. She shares, my late father was a captain, but he didn’t take us out to sea. He traveled long distances. Maybe I was never curious about the sea because it made me miss him. But this is nice, she says, it’s different. We’ve just started to do nice things together, Cetin replies.
He tells Aylin he needs to be back by 10p. He has to work. Thank goodness, because I can’t take much more of this pompous jerk and I’m sure he’s up to no good.
Yekta has taken a taxi somewhere. He asks the driver to wait, and the driver complains about driving to the middle of nowhere. It’s a large fare and he’s worried Yekta might try to skip out. Is this the house that Engin escaped to on that fateful night? The key is still in the same hiding place. Yekta heads upstairs. He opens a safe in the bedroom. It’s empty and there’s a note from Lacin: Thank you for the rainy-day fund, my dear Yekta.
Flashback. Lacin calls Ceylin and tells her Yekta took the key just like she said. Ceylin says she’d love to see the look on his face when he opens the safe. Let me know if he comes back. End flash.
Yekta crumples the note. He screams, damn it! Damn it! and empties the wardrobe contents onto the floor.
Ilgaz fits Ceylin with a bulletproof vest. She complains it’s heavy. He says it’s a precaution. She says, I’d have a bullet wound like you and you would take care of me. He doesn’t recommend that. It’s such a burning pain you wouldn’t want to experience. Are you trying to scare me, she asks. He tells her she can give up now if she wants. She shakes her head no. He knew her answer. She gives him a kiss.
Should we go over the instructions, Ilgaz asks. Yes, we’ve gone over them 100 times, I’ve memorized them, Ceylin replies. He tells her he’s worried something might happen to her. She assures him nothing is going to happen. They hug. Eren comes in. Ready, lovebirds?
Osman comes to the Erguvans. Parla greets him at the door. He’s brought her phone numbers from college students who do tutoring or give music lessons. He tells her to pick what she wants. She gripes. She wanted to go to the renowned tutoring center with all her friends. Osman can’t afford tutoring and her tuition.
Parla says, if you only thought about your daughter and spent less on frivolous things. Like other women. Then we wouldn’t be having this conversation. Take these back. She crams the notes in his hand and walks away. He shouts after her.
Aylin walks up to the house as if she’s walking on air. Until she sees Osman by the door. He questions her, coming home at this hour? Is work keeping you busy? Do you care, she replies. She says she was out with friends. Who are these friends, he snaps.
She tries to walk, and he stops her. We’re not officially divorced yet. You can’t just go out and do whatever you want. Think about our daughter. You remember you have a daughter, she snarks. We might not be divorced on paper, but we already are in my heart. She enters the house and slams the door.
Aylin heads to the kitchen where Gul is prepping food. Aylin opens the fridge and asks where is the cake? I’m hungry. Gul asks, didn’t you eat? Aylin says she was too excited to eat. Gul gives her daughter a stern look. What do you mean excited? Aylin blathers on about how great it was to be in the courtroom for Ceylin’s trial Gul grouches, don’t talk nonsense. Stay where you are and don’t make trouble. Do your job quietly.
Derya gets a message from Ozge. I know who Elif Yavas is. She was a witness you were going to question. Derya looks through the files she took home. She finds a picture of a woman. Not sure who it is. We cut to Mujde at the ICU. Was that her in the picture?
Mujde goes to the door and sees Mehmetcan’s hand move and eyes flutter open. She starts shouting for a doctor or a nurse. The cops walk over.
Eren gives final instructions. This mission needs to go as planned. We’ll go in, detain him and leave. When Ceylin arrives, she will go straight in.
We see this happening as Eren continues to speak. She’ll go to the front desk to get her keycard. She’ll go upstairs. There will be officers in civilian clothes. In the meantime, we will be outside. Someone in the lobby will provide us with the feed. She will go to the sixth floor. We see Ceylin use the keycard.
Back to real time. The operation is about to start. Ilgaz reminds Ceylin to follow instructions. Be careful. He holds her like he doesn’t want to let go. A nod to Eren and to Pars and Ceylin walks towards the hotel.
And we are out.
Thanks, dondi! You cleared up quite a few things for me. AND, I've come to the conclusion that I can't recognize Turkish people. Maybe my years and years of TN's trained me to recognize Latinos from a distance and in any circumstances! I did not connect Neva's stylist with the Kaya's new tenant. I also did not recognize the guy Aylin is infatuated with as being on the beach observing Neva.
So...Elif, Melis' friend, stole her watch, the one with a message engraved on it? Odd.
Viewerville surely hopes Lacin learned her lesson. I didn't realize Yekta had come to some other place. I thought he was sneaking into Lacin's house. But in any case, the sticky post-it note was perfect!
I also don't remember there being money at Neva's place. Speaking of cut and paste, I could start one: "novelera doesn't remember; novelera doesn't recognize..."
We see that a big part of Pars' lashing out behavior is related to his guilt over having refused to help her when she called him. She wasn't thinking straight, but still.
"Gul goes on and on". Yep, that crazy witch (or the one beginning with "b") can't get it through her exceedingly thick skull that Zafer (egged on by her even before Yekta, lest we forget) was going to kill Cinar. Cinar was completely innocent of anything. If he hadn't kicked that gun away and then struggled for possession later, he'd be dead. I felt like screaming at my TV when she began ripping out flowers.
OTOH Cinar got exactly zero DNA from his father. His father tried to save him and ruined his career. I think they said something about losing his pension. Now he's too dumb to realize that he should leave Serdar alone. He's too dumb to catch him. And now he's going to lose his brother's protection by slipping information to a press guy, the one who plays him like a fiddle.
I'm finding the new Chief, Rifat to be a sketchy sort of guy. The camera keeps showing him looking like he's up to something.
Yes, indeed: "red flag, Aylin" about no social media presence.
I thought Parla was kind of a brat to her father. We know he works but doesn't seem to be rolling in money. We have some entitled brats where I live, and Parla seems to think she's owed a wonderful education, despite her past behavior of taking drugs to win a swim meet.
Pars was a bit too eager, for my taste, to put Ceylin in danger to solve Neva's murder.
Again, thanks dondi. I hope Telemundo doesn't screw up by showing West Coast people an episode that East Coast folks miss because of Messi Madness.
Thank you, novelera.
There was a lot of twisted stuff on Tuesday. I hope I got it right. All the “new” people seemingly popped up in the Neva flashbacks. Waiting for dependable Lucio to check in with confirmation.
After all this time, how in the world could Lacin have any sympathy for Yekta. Glad the ladies screwed him over with the hidden cash.
Yes, what did happen to the money that Cuneyt stashed in Neva’s apartment? They edited the scene when Pars went there. First, he sniffed her jacket. Then he went through all her closets and drawers, throwing stuff all over the place. Was he looking for the money? The cops were already there and Eren said they found nothing. If Neva had given it back to Yekta he wouldn’t be living like a vampire in a dungeon.
“…Pars' lashing out behavior is related to his guilt…” He used to be weirdly obsessed with Neva. Since Derya came, that changed. They made a point of it with the flashback. Otherwise, I think he would have gone to get Neva. And maybe now his guilt is causing him to back away from Derya.
I have a visceral reaction when Gul (lol, witch with a b) comes on the screen. I’ve made it clear I can’t stand any of the Erguvans. I barely tolerate Ceylin. She is ruining Ilgaz. I’m glad Pars told her about the note. She wasn’t happy Ilgaz kept it from her. Ceylin would have been strong enough to refuse Pars if she didn’t want to cooperate.
“Cinar got exactly zero DNA from his father.” He is the prince of poor choices—Serdar and now the reporter. But Metin wasn’t too smart either when he covered up for Cinar. You would think a police chief would know better. This will always bother me.
I usually stay away from MLS games as I find them painful to watch. But since it was Messi, I decided to watch the 2nd half and it was exciting. Went all the way to penalties.
Thanks, Dondi, Lucio, and Novelera. Your recaps are incredible. This is the most intricate dizi I've watched.
I got a kick out of seeing Yekta living in the basement of a storefront and eating lousy soup. But you can't keep this foul bad guy down.
Ceylin seems to think she's invincible. Ilgaz will have to work overtime to protect her. On the leap to the future, I'm guessing Ceylin fell into someone's trap and was made to look guilty.
Poor Aylin. Just looking at him without getting all the dialogue, I just knew her date was a fake.
Neva's murder shocking, and so gruesome. Poor Pars. Derya is tough as nails to still argue with him (though understandable) at a time like this.
Glad to have the info that this is the start of the new season.
Thank you, dondi356.
Yes, I can confirm that Aylin's new guy was observing Neva on the beach, Tolga was shown with a woman in a wheelchair when Neva met Yekta and the woman renting from Metin is Neva's stylist. They are all circling Ceylin now.
I agree with Ilgaz that Ceylin shouldn't be involved in this operation. A trained police officer is much better. The officer can follow commands, can use weapons. Even ignoring this note is better.
Thanks, Niecie and Lucio.
ITA, Niecie, Yekta will not be down for long.
I can’t feel too sorry for Aylin, though. She’s dumb enough to fall hook, line, and sinker for this stinker. She should have done more research on “Dr. Cetin” ahead of time. I’m surprised Ceylin didn’t look him up.
Thanks for the confirmation, Lucio. For the reasons you mentioned, a cop would be better in place of Ceylin. But no matter who goes, I don’t think they are going to catch anyone tonight. They have to drag this out.
