So, Gut already has a new plan to leverage Ingrid to recover his reputation....to me that shows he hasn't changed any. But maybe he'll still genuinely help Ingrid while helping himself. One thing I have thought several times and I don't think I've commented on is that I am surprised there's so much immigration activity in Northern California!! Is that really a thing? I would think the operations would be happening closer to the border in S. Cali.

Marta and Lil going at it is really only interesting because of the experience and talent of the actresses!! Watching two women who clearly know what they are doing and have had plenty of practice doing it get all up in each other's faces so dramatically is fun in a weird way. I wonder if they enjoy it? Laugh between scenes, ect. It would be interesting to see outtakes of scenes like that. The one reveal I found interesting (although who knows if it's true or if Lil is lying) is that Marta cheated on Marcos with Lil's husband!!! I assumed the affair happened before Marta was with her husband, but Lil clearly said Marta cheated on Marcos!!! Hmm....

When Luci and Susan were talking and Luci was telling Susan to stand up for herself, I was thinking Luci should be saying for Susan to defend herself against the writers and not let them paint her as being this stupid!!! LOL Jeez

It was interesting to see Luci stand up to Mark! He did seem almost intimidated to have Luci in his face. I just thought wow, this chick could probably give him a run for his money! And she should, she needs something to take all that frustration out on!!! #BeatMarkLuci

David and Gracie bonding over the good ol' days is weird, isn't that the time when Gracie was bitter because David dumped her for Lisa and Lisa was trying to keep lil sis away??? Now we are supposed to believe they all hung out and had the time of their lives???

Vino. I missed yesterday's episode because of a civic luncheon, but read the Caray very detailed summary. In the past when that happened for some novelas I used to move heaven and earth to watch the missed episode online. Not so much for this one. As long as I know what happened so I can follow the next episode, that's sufficient. I see that Brian has not become a better person. What a surprise! :) But I am glad to see that Ingrid now has protected refugee status. And ho hum. How many episodes before they find out that Juan ruined those wine barrels?

It's kind of fun watching the next day on the Uni app - less commercials so the torture ends sooner!!! LOL j/k sort of.

I can't remember ever watching a novela where I honestly didn't care what happened less! It's kind of fun to watch with no vested interest and it's kind of annoying too...I really don't care about any of these characters or storylines.

That said, the kiss between Ingrid and Leon was sweet and the look on his face was adorable, but it kind of makes me sad because the one storyline I was enjoying before was the Leon and Sonia relationship which appears to be over now.

I did like Erika's comment to her dad that no one dies from a broken heart! That is a sentiment that I think should be expressed far more often in all areas of life. Too many people are paralyzed by the fear of getting hurt and miss out on too many opportunities and keep themselves from taking chances because they don't want to get hurt. Yes, getting hurt sucks, yes heartbreak is hard; no, it won't kill you!!!! Live!!!

Luci said Gut is the worst person she ever met...they must be believing/assuming that he knew all about the deportation all along (which he did) because the simple act of deportation in and of itself doesn't make him the most horrible person ever, besides Luci works with Juan!!! Oh Juan, so handsome so horrible... at least he wanted to abandon the immigrants and not murder them...at least I don't think he wanted to kill them. He wants to turn in the coyote and not kill him so maybe there's a line there he won't cross, yet.

 

Vino. Some wise comments there, Darcy. If only a bit of wisdom could rub off on some of the telenovela writers, some of whom only seem to be going through the motions. It seemed to me that Marta is starting to be tempted by Brian's efforts to make up with her. We'll see what happens. Can he redeem himself at some point before this oh so long novela is over? And I can hardly wait to see the anvil fall on Mark. Will Ingrid stay in Mexico or will she be be back soon now that she has refugee status?
