Yekta’s holding a winning hand right now. He says he never loses. I think he’s one of the best dizi villains I’ve ever seen. This actor is very skilled at playing the bad guy.

ITA with the patio, Osman wasted his opportunity. Maybe he should tell Ceylin. I hope he doesn’t waste this opportunity with Gul and tells her what he found out.

I would love to see Gul’s answers to Burak’s survey.

Yes, Lucio, why woo Aylin? She’s an easy mark, but what is the goal?

Every time they mention Pars’ epilepsy, I get a bad feeling he won’t be around for the end.

BTW, I looked ahead on Zap2it and saw 1-hour episodes starting on Sept 13, 9-10p. Hoping it lasts until the end of the season. It also shows El Señor de los Cielos at 10!

Yikes, Yekta is back on top, but surely it won't take long for Lacin to realize he's faking and to kick him out.

Yekta thinks he's Solomon, but has it crossed his mind that Burak is psycho enough to kill him (Yekta) even if he doesn't fit the profile? Burak is PSYCHO.

ITA sadly Ilgaz could be overestimating his ownself too if he thinks his personal threat to Burak will help protect Ceylin. This guy is PSYCHO.

Great when everyone just ignored Gul's useless outburst. They should keep this up.

Everyone in the Kaya house is happy to have Ceylin back safe and sound. Ilgaz wonders when Ceylin became such good friends with Merdan. She just says they like each other. He tells her if she needs to go somewhere, Ismail will take her. For once, she intends to listen to Ilgaz. This time, Ceylin sincerely thanks Cinar for helping find her.

Gul continues to rip into Osman. The dope lets her “go on and on”. Finally, he tries to tell her what he found out, but she doesn’t want to hear it and walks away.

Ceylin gets a breaking news notification on her laptop. It’s Burak’s story—The Well of Death. He mentions Ceylin by name. She’s pissed.

Thank goodness Osman calls Ceylin. He wants to meet with her about Aylin.

Ilgaz is at the well mansion. He speaks with ME Anil. All fingerprints found match the victims, including Burak. Eren and Pars arrive at the scene. Anil says there were traces of blood found in another room. They belong to a man. Could be Burak’s.

Eren thinks Burak might have hurt himself and then went into the basement. Anil says it’s hard to tell if Burak hurt himself. Pars thinks if there was a scuffle, there would be DNA. Anil says either the killer was always there, or Burak is the killer, or the killer was always walking around with gloves.

Osman tells Ceylin about the real Dr. Cetin. Aylin believed that liar! Ceylin agrees to look into it. She makes it clear she’s not doing this so Osman can get back together with Aylin. He wants Ceylin to warn Aylin that she’s in danger.

Ilgaz and Pars are in the basement. Pars sees Neva’s name scratched into the wall and gets upset. She was here, in this dark place… thirsty and hungry. May Allah punish me. He leaves the building, hurries to his car and goes.

Ceylin puts Tolga on the case to find out about the real Dr. Cetin. She says Ilgaz found out about their game. Tolga is shocked. What did Ilgaz say? She calls him out on using Ilgaz’s name without his title. He says he knows another Ilgaz.

Anil gets a report. Burhan’s autopsy is done. He was killed inside and with a knife. Everyone touched the knife. Ilgaz wants to take statements from everyone who was in the basement and he wants Ceylin and Burak to do it again.

Ilgaz calls Ceylin while she’s on her way to her mom’s house and tells her she has to give another statement.

Tolga tells Ceylin he found out that Dr. Cetin is an old guy.

Ceylin tries to talk sense into Aylin. She refuses to believe she’s being scammed. She blames Osman for making this up. Ceylin shows her a pic of the real Cetin. I did this for your sake, she says. Aylin says she’s seen pics of him in the OR. He’s told stories of the children he’s saved. He has a big boat. Ceylin says Ilgaz is coming, let’s ask for his help.

Aylin whines, I’m an adult, why are you doing this to me? I’ll talk to Cetin. I’ll get his diploma and show it to you. Don’t talk to Ilgaz yet. Don’t humiliate me. Ceylin agrees but says, if this man is lying to you, he must have a hidden agenda and things won’t end well for you. Try to understand.

Ceylin leaves with Ilgaz. She keeps her promise to Aylin and doesn’t say anything to Ilgaz.

Cut: Pars is at Mehmetcan’s house. He talks about Neva and shows the boy childhood pictures of him and Neva. My mother brought her home and put her in my arms, he says, I didn’t want to let her go. There is a pic of 6 year old Neva with a bandage on her head. The boy asks what happened. Pars says they were playing and he chased her, she tripped and hit her head. She didn’t tell on him.

 

Secretos #71 part 2

Pars shows Mehmetcan Neva’s last picture, with her last smile. He’s trying very hard to hold back his emotions. The boy notes her hair looks different. Yes, it was dyed brown. Pars asks, do you remember anything else besides the hair? She stayed next to me, Mehmetcan says, she didn’t leave me at all. Brief flashback as Mehmet speaks. She told me ‘we’ll get out of here’ and she smiled. Just like the picture.

Anything else, Pars asks. Mehmetcan remembers another person. Another flashback. He was very nervous. He was mad at me, I think. He screamed and came at me. Then Neva Abla stepped between us. She had a knife. She stopped him from hurting me. I closed my eyes. Then the man was on the ground. There was blood.

Pars asks, would you remember this person if you see his face? Do you remember anyone else being there? Pars describes Burak. Mehmet only remembers Neva.

Pars tells Mujde to call if they remember anything else. He says Mehmet might have to come for another statement. Pars heads for his car and can’t hold out any longer. He crosses the street and walks into the yard of an abandoned house and cries. End cut.

Yekta leaves the house to go to work. There’s the new car and Ozgur waiting for him. Lacin comes out and wants to know what’s going on. You’ve always brought me good luck, he replies, I landed a great case. And my lovely client gave me this beautiful car. I just got you out of your misery, she says. God pitied me, Yekta responds, he wanted me to be happy before I died. I want to die on the job.

Haluk tells Metin he’s going to the courthouse with Burak. They want another statement. He wants Metin to talk to Ilgaz and tell him they are good people. Metin says that Ilgaz has great perception, everything will be sorted out in due time. Burak realizes they’re being followed by an undercover cop.

Tolga meets up with Ilcey outside the courthouse. Ilgaz says, you can stop acting like you don’t know each other. Ceylin tells Ilgaz that Tolga is innocent. I forced him to help. Ilgaz interrupts. Tolga smiles at him and Ilgaz thanks him. I did my best, Tolga replies.

Wait, what’s going on, Ceylin asks, why no lecture? Ilgaz starts walking away. Ceylin asks, what’s going on between you two? Ilgaz reveals he’s known Tolga since he was a child. His father was shot over a land dispute. The siblings killed each other. I oversaw the case. He saw me like an older brother.

Ceylin asks, you not mad at me, because you can’t get mad at him? No, Ilgaz replies, I asked for his help. Fortunately, he was an intern at that firm. I knew you’d keep following Mehmetcan’s case, so I decided to have him help us. You’re not the only player in this game, Ilgaz tells her. I did it so I’d know when to intervene. I did it to protect my wife. Ceylin is very impressed.

Samet, the RE agent and Burak wait in the hall for their turn to give statements.
Eren speaks to Ridvan and Ozge. He asks, are you getting married or not? I get paid once a month. I want to buy gold for you, you can’t spring it on me at the last minute. Ridvan says they are waiting for the families to meet. If we are lucky, Ozge says.

Ilcey come walking down the hall holding hands. Burak greets Ceylin. She gives him a nervous cold shoulder. She goes over to Samet.

Eren says cops are questioning Cigdem (the girl) at the hospital. Ilgaz says if the child specialist, lawyer and the AG are ready, we will take Samet first. Eren says Pars will be there in about half hour. Ilgaz says he will start with Ceylin. Yekta complains—we were here first. You’ll go last, Ilgaz replies. Eren smirks at Yekta.

 

Secretos #71 part 3

Pars goes to the crime lab and speaks to Adil. He wants Neva’s report. But what he really wants to know is if Adil is done with all the collection and testing. Give me my sister’s body, I want to bury her. Adil says given the new evidence, if we confirm Burak is the killer or if we learn… Pars interrupts, you have everything you need to compare samples. Why are you doing this? He gives Adil two days to finish. And don’t make me exhume her body later.

Ceylin gives her statement. I don’t think it’s any different than the first except for the fact Burak is suspect. Ceylin says, he would say his hands are clean, he’s not a murderer. Eren wonders about the previous victims, so everyone killed each other. But someone survived, who killed that last person? Ceylin says Burak wanted them to start killing each other with the knife. Burhan, the taxista, was killed while I was sleeping.

Eren says you spent time with these people. If the killer wasn’t there, who stabbed Burhan? Ceylin says Samet was sick, he slept. The other man, Vedat, the agent was afraid of everything. The girl was scared, you know she attacked me. We need more evidence to prove she did it. But there’s no one else.

Vedat is interviewed. He says he didn’t see or hear anything. I swear I didn’t do it. Samet says he was sleeping, he was sick. Ilgaz asks Samet about Burak. Had you ever seen him before? He gave me chocolate and some water. The mother says, thank God. Maybe he’s the reason they are alive.

Vedat also had some good things to say about Burak. If it had not been for him we would have starved to death. He didn’t eat or drink. He was kind and made sure we all had something to drink. I think he’s a wonderful person. He did his best to save us.

Aylin calls Cetin. I’d like to come to the hospital today. He asks why. She says she made börek and will bring him some. He tells her he’s not at the hospital. He’s at a medical symposium at the Bandor Hotel. He says, I’ll send you my location. Don’t take a taxi, it’s far. I’ll send a car. Send me your address.

Ceylin is in Derya’s office. Derya says after all this, everyone is going to need therapy. We’ve lost so much. I don’t know how Pars will cope. His illness has flared up and he ignores it. Therapy will help us deal with our fears. While you were held, Ilgaz was a wreck. Ceylin says it’s a good idea. I was in therapy for two years after I lost my husband, Derya tells her. Ceylin replies, when you lose a loved one, you question life… the meaning of life and fate. The questions don’t vanish.

Eren can’t believe the taxista was killed in that small room and no one heard or saw anything. Ilgaz comments, they were starved. Their blood pressure dropped. You tend to sleep more. Ilgaz tells Eren to bring Burak in, but first he’s going to Derya’s office.

Ilgaz tells Derya and Ceylin there’s nothing new. He’s about to question Burak, and they are waiting for the girl’s statement from the hospital. No one met Burak beforehand, except for Ceylin. They said he was helpful and kind. Ilgaz asks Derya, where is Pars? She doesn’t know.

On her way out, Ceylin runs into Tolga. Congratulations, she says with an outstretched hand. He shakes it. I called you rookie, called you quail. I tried to teach you how to play the game, you bested me. It upsets me to know you worked together to set me up.

Sorry, Tolga replies, I was helping Ilgaz Abi. He helped me graduate. I wouldn’t be a lawyer if it wasn’t for him. My mother is sick and he’s been looking after her for years. He’s never abandoned us. Wow, Ceyin answers, he told me a lot but he left out that detail. He never brags. I care deeply about him, Tolga says, I’d do it again.

 

secrets #71 part 4

Tolga asks if Ceylin is mad at him. No. She says he’s going to make a great lawyer. She thanks him and says, see you around. She walks a few steps and turns back. What are you doing now, she asks. I have an errand and then I’m going home, he replies. I told you I’d put you to the loyalty test, she says, you passed the test. You’re loyal to Ilgaz, so you’re loyal to me. Be at the office at 9a. Don’t be late.

Ceylin tells Ismail she wants to go to the hospital.

Ilgaz keeps Yekta and Burak waiting while he reads over the files. Yekta complains about the lengthy and tense silence. Ilgaz shows the police sketch of the person Burak said was the kidnapper. We can’t find anyone who looks like this. Yekta objects. This was supposed to be about the man who was killed in the basement. Is my client a suspect or a victim?

Ilgaz asks Eren if there is a limit to the questioning. Eren says no and actually parts of Burak’s statement are lacking. We should ask about that too. Ilgaz asks about Burak’s Sociology degree. He hands him the survey. Yekta grabs it. Burak shrugs it off. I’ve participated in a lot of surveys. I don’t remember this. Ilgaz asks, you forgot something you created? Is it possible?

Yekta asks, how do you know my client put this together? Do you have evidence? Witnesses? You’re accusing him of something. Ilgaz says it’s his job. I’m here to find the truth. He goes back to Burak—did you create this survey?

Burak leans on the desk and calmly answers… no. He adds, these are good questions, though. He looks directly into Ilgaz’s eyes—if you had to kill someone, would you? Would you kill someone to save a loved one? Those are profound questions. How would you answer, sir? Would you kill? A resounding no from Ilgaz. I wouldn’t put myself in a situation that could force me to kill someone. [maybe we should remember this for later.] Yekta looks uneasy. Let’s stop this nonsense. Burak doesn’t this let go. I think you would, he tells Ilgaz.

Aylin shows up at the hotel during a break. Cetin tells her the boring part is over. Want to get something to drink? She’s up for it and says, maybe I could meet your friends. Of course, he replies, I’d like you to meet Aziz Yildiz, he’s the best teacher ever. He calls an older man over and flatters him. He introduces him to Aylin. Cetin is anxious to eat that börek and anxious to get the heck out of there.

Burak’s questioning continues. Ilgaz asks, if you didn’t hold the knife after it was on the floor, how did your prints get on it? Maybe it happened while I was trying to save your wife, Burak responds. Yekta interjects, maybe you should spend time looking for the murderer, instead of your desperate attempt to blame my client.

Ilgaz says, I thought you were afraid at the sight of blood. Burak answers, no, who said that? You’re not afraid, Ilgaz asks. Someone made that up, Burak replies. Eren recalls Burak fainted when they came in. Maybe I was scared, Burak answers. Eren calls him a liar. Ceylin said you feared the sight of blood. Yekta claims that Ceylin is at it again. She’s imaginative. Ilgaz tells him to keep his opinions to himself.

Ceylin visits Cigdem. They are both doing okay. Ceylin says she’s fine physically, but not sure about mentally. You know. Cigdem says she does. She apologizes to Ceylin. I slandered you and lost control. Ceylin says, we all did. None of us had ever experienced anything like it. That maniac tried to turn us against each other. He succeeded at some points. Don’t be sad, it’s fine.

 

secrets #71 part 5

Cigdem asks if he’s been caught. Ceylin says, it’s still under investigation. Cigdem is alarmed. Ceylin tells her it’s only a matter of time before he’s caught. The DA and the cops are after him. No reason to worry, we have protection. Ceylin asks, do you remember anything? Any detail, no matter how small can help. Cigdem says no, I told them when I gave my statement. I didn’t see the person who kidnapped me.

Ceylin helps Cigdem get comfortable in her bed. She notices red marks on the girl’s arm. The girl quickly covers them up. Ceylin excuses herself and says, get well. The girl finally tells Ceylin her name.

Burak signs his statement. Yekta says let’s go. Ilgaz wants to take a statement from Haluk.

Pars arrives at the courthouse, just as Burak exits. Where are you going, he asks Burak. I gave my statement and I’m done, he answers. My prints were on the knife and they asked why. I’m here to help and I will do so until we find the real killer. I’m at your service.

Pars thinks Burak is way too at ease. Why don’t you look scared? Pars explains, one of the people in that basement was discharged from the hospital, another one is still in there, Ceylin is a mess, but you’re wandering about like you’re on holiday. Burak smiles, well I entered the basement a little later, sir. I was lucky. And then you rescued me. I wasn’t as affected as the others. Pars replies, you will be…. If you’re our suspect.

Haluk says only Burak survived the fire. My son, my DIL and my grandson died. [someone is missing, wasn’t there a sister?] Ilgaz asks, Burak was home when the fire started? Haluk says yes, but God kept him safe. He’s the only family I have left, my heir. I took my grandson in, I raised him. He’s an amazing young man. He hasn’t done anything wrong, he never will. [I kinda feel sorry for Haluk,]

Ilgaz is by the window and has had his back turned to Haluk this whole time. He turns around and asks, does he fear the sight of blood? Haluk has a blank look. Yekta clarifies for him. Does he faint when he sees blood? Does he show fear or disgust? Of course not, Haluk replies, my grandson is not weak. Ilgaz tells Haluk he can go.

Pars enters the office. Yekta tells him he was going to see him. I wanted to inform you of a few irregularities. Such as? Yekta says that Ilgaz has an undercover cop watching his client. He’s not a suspect. Pars asks, seriously? He turns to Ilgaz, you did that? Bravo! He tells Yekta that Ilgaz did it because he suspects Burak. Or maybe it’s to protect him. Ceylin is under protection too. Anything else?

Yes, Yekta replies, Ilgaz visited Burak’s home last night. I’ll file a report. Pars complains about doing more paperwork. Haluk tells Pars, I’m not afraid of anyone. I’m not hiding anything. Do your searches. Let DA Ilgaz do whatever he wants so he feels confident when he moves on to search for the real killer.

Haluk and Yekta leave. Pars asks Ilgaz why he went to the house. I wasn’t there as a DA, Ilgaz replies, I was there as Ceylin’s husband. I only gave him a small warning. Pars says he understands, but just like you warned me about my mistakes, and I appreciate it, it’s my duty to warn you. Please don’t let it happen again. Yekta will create a problem for us.

Umut brings info on Burak’s phone records and computer. And his bank account.

 

secrets #71 part 6

Ceylin talks the cops at the hospital into letting her read Cigdem’s statement. It seems to follow the same story as the others. Then she mentions the water bottle thrown into the room. I had a drink when the fat, bald man tried to take the bottle from me. When I refused to hand it over, he hit me. He was hostile, violent and kept picking on us. He was mentally unstable. He tried to kill himself but we stopped him. He continued to show hostility to us. He looked at us weird. I think the fat man killed him. He always looked as if he wanted to kill us.

Nothing strange is found in Burak’s records. Eren notes he gave a lot of money to charities. Ilgaz says the psych professor they visited emailed everyone, including Burak. He wrote the survey was fake and asked for information about it. The Sociology and Psychology departments work hand in hand, Pars says, it would be normal for Burak to receive correspondence. Ilgaz says someone who knows the truth, could have replied. Eren says he will contact the prof.

We see the professor lecturing in class. He’s talking about liars. How compulsive, pathological liars continue to lie even when they don’t benefit. They play roles of heroes and victims. They believe their lies. [I can think of some RL examples, but I will quote George Costanza “it’s not a lie… if you believe it.”] The prof’s phone buzzes with Eren’s call. Ilgaz says let’s go to see him.

Ceylin returns to Cigdem. I read your statement. The man you claimed beat you, the one who tried to kill himself, the man you claimed attacked you, even when you tried to help him, is Vedat. He’s married and has two kids. He suffers from panic attacks. Cigdem looks upset.

Ceylin continues, I was there and he did none of those things. He was afraid of his own shadow. You made him sound like a murderer. The man who died, Burhan… you stabbed him, didn’t you? Did you kill him?! Tell me! Cigdem cries, it was an accident. I didn’t mean to. I swear. Ceylin asks her what happened.

Flashback. The slot opened, Cigdem recalls, the knife was thrown inside. I had been sleeping but I saw Burhan take the knife and hide it. I was very scared. He looked at us like he was going to kill us.

Cigdem says she pretended to sleep. I swear I never meant to hurt him. He hid the knife in his clothing. Then I waited until he fell asleep. I walked up to him very slowly, I tried to get the knife and he grabbed my arm. He tried to choke me. I don’t know how it happened, I couldn’t breathe. I was fighting for my life. I was running out of energy and then the knife went into his belly. He let me go and he dropped to the ground. I don’t know how it happened!

You have to understand, Cigdem sobs, he was going to kill me. I had to fight back. There was a child in there! He was going to kill him! I did it for him. Please! Ceylin says she has to tell the police. You can’t keep it a secret. You can’t hurt an innocent man. I can’t go to prison, Cigdem cries. You killed someone, Ceylin replies, say it was self-defense, anything. But you can’t blame someone else. You might not even go to prison. I can’t go to prison, Cigdem says, I’m pregnant.

Burak greets his reporter friends outside the station. They welcome him as the man of the hour. Burak enjoys the attention. Cinar comes outside and sees Burak laughing it up with the others. Cinar goes over and wants to talk to Burak outside the station. Another reporter gets in Cinar’s face. Burak calms them down and tells Cinar we can go.

Cinar confronts Burak. How did you do it? How did you find me? Murderer! Burak replies, first things first. I’m not a murderer. Would I be here? Maybe you should use your brain. I’ve heard that before, Cinar says. He takes a swipe Burak’s coffee.

Burak calls him stupid. Your brother is still after me. He asked if I had friends at the station. How did I know the child was alive? How did I know about the hospital? I didn’t tell him, I didn’t sell you out! Because I’m a true friend. And I didn’t tell him about your stupid plan for Serdar. It wasn’t worth it. I’m a true friend. Good for you, Cinar says, now go on with your life. Stay away from the girls and me or I’ll break your bones. Go away!

Burak leaves the station, and a cop follows him.

Fake Cetin compliments Aylin’s cooking. I don’t know how much weight I’ll put on after we marry. Aylin tells him she’s still married. Aren’t you getting divorced, he asks. When you talk about marriage, I take it very seriously. Cetin says, can’t you see I love you very much? I’m in love with you and you with me, right? Aylin says since we are serious, we shouldn’t hide anything from each other. He says he’s not hiding anything.

Eren and Ilgaz meet with the professor. Ilgaz asks him about the email he sent about the survey. Our department was used as a front and that’s illegal. I mentioned that in the email. Eren asks if anyone responded. Yes, the prof says, I knew I’d have to inform you and the police. A student, Erde, said he was a classmate of the survey’s creator. The creator was Burak Yildirim.

Ceylin speaks with Cigdem’s doctor. She will be released in a few days. Ceylin asks about her baby. How is it? The baby is fine. She’s about 7 weeks.
Eren finds out Burak is at Haluk’s house. Ilgaz is going to go. He tells Eren to find Erde for a statement.

Aylin wants their families and friends to meet. We should share more of each other’s life, she says. He says he has. He reminds her he went to Ceylin’s office. I wanted to meet your mother and daughter. Having their approval is important to me. Especially your daughter. He knows something is bothering her. She says it’s nothing. She asks, do you really want to meet them? Yes, he wants to do everything the right way. I can’t listen to his BS anymore and I’m disgusted with Aylin FF>>

Rafet asks Umut for Eren. Where is he? Didn’t I tell you to keep me informed? Rafet snatches a file from Umut. Well, well, another arrest warrant was issued against Burak Yildirim. What’s the plan? Does he have evidence? Umut says he doesn’t know.

Yekta is enjoying his lunch with Haluk at a Michelin star restaurant. Haluk isn’t enjoying it much. They are blaming my grandson needlessly, he says, they blame him for something heinous.

Rafet calls Yekta with the news. Yekta tells Haluk they found something. They’re going to arrest your grandson. They did the same thing to my poor son, Engin. Haluk pounds the table, this is not the same! Your son was a criminal and you know it! You think I don’t know the story? He hurt innocent people. My grandson is innocent. Yekta says nothing.

Haluk calls Metin to ask if Burak is there. Yes he is. Haluk says an arrest warrant was issued for him. Talk to him and keep him calm, the police are coming. Make sure he turns himself in peacefully. We are on our way.

Eren and Ilgaz get stuck in Istanbul traffic. Using the siren doesn’t help much.
Ceylin goes back inside the hospital and talks to the cops on guard. You will tell DA Ilgaz when Cigdem is being discharged? Yes, and we’ll take her to the courthouse to give her statement. Ceylin says she was wondering if Cigdem will be watched.

Metin heads up to Burak’s room. He knocks and enters. He can tell Burak is in the bathroom. He leaves the room and stands outside the door.

Burak comes out of the bathroom and checks his phone. He plays grandpa’s message—the police are coming to arrest you. Don’t panic and turn yourself in peacefully. I’ll handle everything, I’m on my way home. He gets a message from Yekta—get out of that house now!

Metin knocks at the door and calls for Burak. He opens the door when there’s no answer. Are you out of the bathroom? We need to talk. Metin enters the room. Burak knocks him out.

And we are out.

I was glad to see Ceylin treat Cinar like a member of her extended family. Not sure what the prior coldness was about.

Well, what can I say? Brass cojones on the part of Burak. He writes about his "terrible experience" being held by the killer.

Yep, I wouldn't write about Aylin's stupidity either. Her sister, about 200 IQ points ahead of her, tells her about the real Cetin being an old man and she keeps defending him.

Why in the world did Telemundo cut out that scene with Pars and Mehmetcan? Seemed pretty crucial to me.

Oh my God. Yekta tells Lacin about the car as a bit of enjoyment before he dies!

Haluk definitely crossed a line asking Metin to help with Ilgaz's pursuit of Burak.

I loved the reveal of Ilgaz having had Tolga on his side the whole time. I'm also grateful he isn't a baddie and that Ceylin is keeping him on.

Enjoyed Yekta sweating during the scene where his monstrous client is being grilled about the survey. And Burak can't resist getting in Ilgaz's face about it.

It seems to me Cigdem was let off to easily. Pregnancy trumps everything? Throwing the poor, frightened real estate guy under the bus was LOW!

I really don't get why Cetin is trying so hard to conquer Aylin. [We'll probably find out why in one of those famous dizi flashbacks.]

Aha! Rifet is helping Yekta. But why? Yekta only just got 100 lira together. Besides $, what is Rifat's motive in helping a disgraced lawyer?

I'm thinking Ceylin's coolness towards Cinar and Metin is due to the Zafer incident. She's not completely over it.

Gul and Aylin: is it possible to have negative IQ points? Fake Cetin is unwatchable for me. I just want him busted asap!

It is interesting to watch Yekta's reactions now that we know he knows all about Burak.

I'm also happy that Tolga is a good guy. It was his relationship with Ilgaz that caused us to suspect him. Nice twist, but what a coincidence that Tolga happened to be an intern at that particular law office.

Maybe Yekta has a secret on Rafet so he's forced to cooperate?

I'll catch up on Tuesday's episode right after work. I'm sure it's crucial.

It was amusing when Ilgaz revealed that Tolga is his double agent. Ceylin thought she was playing Ilgaz but was played. I was surprised she took it easy. But when Ilgaz said "you go home and try to rest" she said "I will" and immediately went to the hospital to see Cigdem. I thought it was a small rebellion.

Good afternoon, I was looking at the TV listings for next week and I noticed a dizi is starting on Unimas on Monday. It's Aşk-ı Memnu or Spanish title, Amor Prohibido. It will be showing 7PM Eastern, I believe. I just wanted to share with you all in case anyone is interested, because I know several of the Telemundo patio members are Dizi fans. Beren Saat is the lead in this. I don't know much else about it.

Aşk-ı Memnu is an iconic dizi. Telemundo did a remake, Pasión Prohibida, with Jencarlos Canela and the late, great Monica Spear. The Telemundo version stayed close to the original, all the way to the end.

I watched Telemundo's first and then went looking for the original. I kind of skipped around on that, looking for all the "good parts". Beren Saat and Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ are great together.

I'm not sure if I'm up for another viewing, but I might check in from time to time.

Wow! This episode completely blew up all my theories. The main one was that Burak somehow killed Ilgaz and blamed it on Ceylin.

The presumably cold and calculating Burak is unnerved upon hearing they’re going to take him in again. He doesn’t even know he’s been outed as the author of the survey. After hitting Metin in the back of the head, he takes Metin’s gun and tries to run. I’m sort of surprised Ilgaz and Eren came with lights and sirens.

Eren and Ilgaz see Burak through the glass front door and that he’s trying to run. Both say: ¡Deténte, Burak! Stop! He runs through the back garden and then turns and shoots Eren twice. It looks like Eren got shot right in the heart. [Novelera is worried until she remembers that she saw Eren pounding on Ceylin’s office door in the flash forward scene.]

Burak keeps running and Ilgaz fires a warning shot in the air. He keeps yelling at Burak to stop. He doesn’t want to shoot him. Burak is almost over the tall fence when Ilgaz shoots him in the back of his thigh.

Ilgaz tends to Eren. Metin (yes! Was worried about him) comes out and helps, putting pressure on Eren’s wounds. He calls the ambulance. We see a flashback to when the Team discovered that Burak is a hemophiliac. Ilgaz uses his belt for a tourniquet and tells Burak that the ambulance is on its way. Burak tells him that he’ll bleed out before they get here. Looking malevolent, he tells Ilgaz: “I told you that all of us can be a killer.”

The cop who’d gone to the mosque for prayers returns and is ordered to help with Eren. Ilgaz takes Burak to the hospital in the back seat of a police car.

Haluk and Yekta (who always seems glued to Haluk’s side) are, I think, at the courthouse when they find out what happened. Yekta looks upset, probably at the thought of his big fee for Burak’s defense going, going, gone.

Ilgaz looks devastated while blood is wiped from his hands and put into an evidence bag. Wow! They have a whole police section and a forensics setup at the public hospital. Ceylin keeps calling, but Ilgaz looks like he’s in shock.

Ridvan comes to tell Derya and Pars about the two people shot, and they both race to the hospital.

Haluk and Yekta arrive. Ilgaz, after a long pause, tells them that he shot Burak because Burak shot Eren and was trying to escape. Haluk immediately goes into “Gul mode” and tells Ilgaz he better start praying that Burak is all right.

Metin tells Haluk and Yekta about Burak hitting him and taking his gun. Haluk is told Ilgaz had no choice. Burak shot a police officer and was clearly trying to kill him. Ceylin arrives and Ilgaz cries in her arms.

Rafet arrives at the crime scene, looking shady as always. Umut asks permission to leave and go to the hospital. Rafet manages to get rid of the other cops and looks even shadier than usual as he takes a call from someone.

The doctor comes out asking for Eren’s family. Tugce runs down the hall yelling “Papa!...Papa!”. Of course, it’s the perfect time for a commercial.

Ilgaz is sobbing while Ceylin tries to console him. Haluk comes up and says that Ilgaz killed his only family. Ilgaz should have let him escape; he was innocent. Pars runs over and says that he understands pain. Burak killed his sister. [Pars is great throughout this whole episode.] Haluk raves about how much Ilgaz is going to suffer.

Ceylin asks Ilgaz why he didn’t speak up when Haluk called him a killer. Pars and Ceylin both keep telling Ilgaz that he only did his duty.

Pars has coffee with Derya and lays out his fears. Haluk is a powerful man and has Yekta beside him. It’s a bad combination.

The two baddies, Yekta and Rafet, interview Nimet, Haluk’s housekeeper. Rafet gets a call from Pars, telling him to do everything perfectly with the forensic evidence.

Everyone gathers around a smiling Eren, who’s clearly going to be fine.

Yekta begins the plot that will take up much of this episode. He tells Haluk that he thinks “they” deliberately killed Burak. He’s watched this “gang” in action before. He says his only goal going forward will be to assure that they suffer.

Ilgaz insists on giving his official statement right away. Pars suggest creating a separate case from that of the bodies in the well so as to keep Yekta out of it.

Metin tells Haluk he’s sorry for his loss. He goes on to say that what happened made his employment impossible. Haluk just tells him to get out of his sight.

Gokem, the autistic kid, runs toward Merdan, calling him “papa” while Defne and Ayten look on, a bit surprised.

Pars reads aloud from the housekeeper’s statement that she heard 3 shots. Ilgaz insists that there were four: two fired at Eren, his warning shot, and the one that hit Burak. Yekta barges in and says that Burak was hit in the femoral artery. He brings up the threatening visit Ilgaz made to Burak the night before. “Yekta goes on and on” and novelera’s stomach turns. He hints that Pars took the case of Burak’s shooting because he’s Ilgaz’s friend.

Ridvan comes to tell Ilgaz and Pars that only 3 bullet casings were found. Pars is way ahead of Ilgaz and puts his finger on Yekta.

Ceylin tells Cigdem that she needs to tell the truth about stabbing the taxista and that she’ll be her attorney. Her phone rings. [Months and months of watching Ceylin juggle that cord attached to her phone while it rings and rings continues to drive me nuts.] It’s Osman. She tells him that she told Aylin about Cetin’s faking being a doctor, but Aylin is an adult, and she can’t do more.

Haluk is taking Burak’s body in a coffin when Pars, Ilgaz, and a forensic crew come to the scene. He’s angry, but Pars tells him they have to do their work at the crime scene.

Yekta comes to a restaurant that he considers beneath him. He’s sitting back-to-back with Rafet, so no one sees them conspiring. There’s some coded language about a “message” that I think may be about Rafet’s payoff. Rafet gets up and leaves the missing bullet casing, wrapped in a napkin, on his seat. We do see that Yekta opens the napkin in front of a security camera outside the restaurant.

The crime scene is gone over inch by inch, and the search comes up empty. Pars asks Haluk why there are no security cameras on his property. Haluk replies that that’s not against the law. Pars tells Ilgaz that this isn’t about negligence; someone was in this garden.

Metin gives his statement to Rafet. [Did this guy specifically grow that long villain mustache for this role?] When Rafet asks Metin why Haluk chose him, Metin shoots in a fast ball that hits home. “When someone stands out in their job, those people are chosen for security work.”

Ilgaz looks like a thundercloud. He tells Ceylin that no witness said he ordered Burak to stop. He tells her the bullet casing that would have shown that he fired a warning shot disappeared. And Yekta insinuated that Ilgaz took Burak in his car to let him die rather than wait for the ambulance. Ceylin said it wouldn’t be the first time Yekta tampered with evidence. That’s how he wins his cases. For once Ceylin is the perfect partner for Ilgaz during this whole episode.

In Eren’s hospital room Pars tells him about the missing bullet casing. Eren: “Yekta!”

Osman comes to ask for Ilgaz’s help in finding out the truth about Cetin.

Tolga gets Cigdam released on OR until there’s a trial.

Why does Yekta get to sit in on the Housekeeper’s second declaration? Of course, he “goes on and on”. The woman says that no one came before the police came. [I think she meant before the whole crew and isn’t mentioning Rafet because she’s been paid off or ordered to keep silent.] Yekta says that Ilgaz shot Burak because of what happened to Ceylin. Pars loses it and says that Burak shot a police officer and Ilgaz wouldn’t have committed a crime if he shot Burak in the heart.

Yekta puts the worst light on things in a conversation with Haluk. He says that the case has been closed by Pars and Burak died in vain. Hulak blows up. Yekta promises Hulak that he’ll ruin Ilgaz and Pars.

We see Neva’s burial. As we’ve seen before, all the men put shovelfuls of earth onto the casket.

Yekta comes to some building that appears to be where judges and prosecutors are accused of malfeasance. He’s given 10 minutes. The guy who hears his complaint is the classic bored functionary. Yekta presents his long diatribe about how Pars and Ilgaz conspired to kill an innocent young man and lied about everything. We do not see the result of this as the episode ends with the guy looking at Yekta. I can’t tell if he’s convinced or wants to throw Yekta out of his office.

Thanks for the information on Ask i Memnu. I have watched some of this in Turkish without understanding any of it. But it is a compelling tale even without and English or Spanish to help me! The actors are great! So excited!

Never say never, Ilgaz. Burak was a sicko right to the end. Dying was too good for him.

Your Burak killing Ilgaz theory was interesting. I’m holding out that Ilgaz is somehow still alive at the end of the season. No idea how they will pull it off.

Ha, Sema wouldn’t dare kill her husband off the show, just like she’s not giving him a love interest.

I guess Yekta and Rafet have asked Nimet to lie about the number of shots. Maybe she will eventually tell the truth.

We still don’t know why Rafet is connected to Yekta. It’s gross how Rafet scratches his head with the antenna of his radio. Then he looks at it.

“Ilgaz looks like a thundercloud.” – nice description.

Glad that Osman went to see Ilgaz about the faker. What will it take for dopey Aylin to believe?

They did slight edits on Neva’s funeral. Not that it made a big difference in the story, but I think funeral scenes should be left intact.

Yekta went to Ankara. They edited out his conversation with the taxista about the weather. He arrived at the “Hakimler ve Savcılar Yüksek Kurulu” – High Council of Judges and Prosecutors. The decision to promote Pars to Başsavcı came from there, too.
