secrets #90 part 1

Ceylin meets Ferda’s family at the morgue and offers to represent them.

Rat-fet has the groom (Selim), groom’s father and groom’s best man at the station for questioning. The Rat rudely notes that the groom has been very quiet.

Ilgaz and Eren arrive. Rafet immediately jumps up and welcomes Ilgaz back, we missed you… we felt like orphans without you…. We’re at your service [gag]. Ilgaz gives no response to the greeting [ha, ha], he wants to start with the questioning. When Ilgaz is out of earshot, Rafet gets nasty with Eren.

Ferda’s family enters the room to do the ID. Ceylin asks Tolga to go in with them, she can’t do it. We hear the mother’s wails from inside. Ceylin is upset outside.

Selim is very quiet and keeps his head down. Selim’s father explains this was an arranged marriage. He knew the bride’s father (Arif). Ferda had graduated from HS. My son will soon be past his prime (?), we decided to marry them. [seems the groom wasn’t so thrilled with this arrangement either.]

The father says he noticed a commotion at the venue. I asked Arif what was wrong and he said the bride was missing. She was kidnapped. Selim shakes his head but stays silent and doesn’t look up.

Ilgaz watches Selim as the father continues, we were upset. We also searched the area. We were saddened by the news of her death. Who would kidnap a bride on her wedding day… and throw her in the sea? Ilgaz asks if he was at the venue the whole time. Yes, the father replies, I arrived early to greet our relatives as they came. Eren asks what time. Around 4p.

Ilgaz turns to Selim. So, you agreed to this arranged marriage? Selim continues to look down, he answers yes. Ilgaz asks, did you ever talk before the wedding day? Selim says, a little. What was your relationship like? Selim nervously asks, do you mean, emotionally? I figured marriage would bring us closer together.

Eren asks, do you still uphold the old traditions? Ilgaz asks, so you weren’t emotionally attached? The father interjects—that would come after the marriage. The bride’s family and ours are connected to our traditions.

Ilgaz asks Selim, where were you on that day? In the hall? Selim says we had the drums play on the bride’s way to the venue. My father and I brought her. She spent a few hours getting ready. The guests started to arrive. While we greeted them, we were told the bride was missing… I was talking to Yakup in the main hall. Everyone saw us there.

Did you see the bride after you dropped her off, Ilgaz asks. Selim says he went to her room to see if anything was needed, but she was very shy. I left so she would feel at ease. And how was she feeling, Ilgaz asks, was she okay, happy, excited? Did she do anything suspicious? She was shy and quiet, Selim replies. [they keep cutting to the father, like he’s carefully watching what Selim is saying, hoping he sticks to a script.]

Eren questions, you didn’t speak a few words with your future wife? The father interrupts, my son is a well-mannered boy. Who did this to Ferda? We heard she had a boyfriend [!!!]. What was really going on with the girl? We’ll soon find out, Ilgaz replies, we’ll contact you if we need anything else. Don’t leave the city. We’ll keep you informed.

The bank fired Osman as soon as they heard about the criminal case. He says he’s going to sue, but he doubts he’ll be able to go back to work at the bank. Aylin returns home with the food that Ceylin rejected. She’s upset and tells Gul, she (Ceylin) emptied the fridge and treated me like dirt. She wants nothing to do with us.

Gul asks, did they divorce? Aylin doesn’t know. She said they didn’t, but why don’t you try asking her? I tried and she bit my head off.

 

secrets #90 part 2

Ferda’s family is finished with the ID. The mother and aunt are devastated, they wail. Tolga turns to Ceylin, we have to question them. How can we, when they are in such a state? Ceylin replies, let them live their pain. These are wounds that need to heal. The DA can wait.

Aylin wonders why Osman isn’t ready for work. He tells her he’s been fired. He needs money until he can get back on his feet. He suggests selling the house. She panics and blows up. You want to sell? No way! We saved money to buy it! You can’t sell! [she left out: because I already sold it.]

He’s taken aback by her response. We bought the house to have something to fall back on. An investment. It’s a crisis now. I was fired! Aylin doesn’t care about his crisis. You made me suffer for years, she shouts, you lied to me and your daughter. You spent money on other women! You never made me happy! You only made me suffer! We’re getting divorced. I want to get rid of you, I’m not selling the house! She goes to her room and slams the door.

Parla and Tugce arrive with the happy news that Merdan is home. But he’s under house arrest. They all decide to go visit him.

Ceylin brings Ferda’s family to the station. Ilgaz wonders why Ceylin is there. Eren plays dumb. She sends Tolga to speak with Ilgaz and Eren. Ilgaz asks how this happened. Tolga says through a friend. Eren gets out of the room in a hurry to see the family. Tolga tells Ilgaz he’s representing the family, but Ceylin is helping him. There’s no hidden agenda. Ilgaz replies, tell your advisor I’d like to speak with her before I speak with the family.

Ceylin enters the office. Awkward. He’s fine, she’s fine. He’s back from vacation. She says, I’ve thrown myself into my work. She turns to leave. Is that all, he asks, why didn’t you make it to the hearing? I did, she replies, you weren’t there. I waited for you, he says, but you didn’t provide an excuse. If I hadn’t been there, the judge would have voided the filing. I knew you would manage, she answers, I was sure DA Ilgaz would handle it.

Ilgaz asks again, why didn’t you make it? I was working, she replies, I was too busy. When I arrived, the judge had moved on to the next case. I said I’d be late, but you didn’t wait for me. Maybe it’s because you’re not the only one who is busy, he tells her, we waited 25 minutes for you.

Ceylin tells him she was mediating a case. And you were expected at a hearing which involved you, Ilgaz replies. Are you that desperate to get divorced, she asks. Ilgaz says the judge delayed the hearing for two weeks. He won’t send a summons, but we are expected to be on call.

Ilgaz says she hasn’t come to take her belongings. Ceylin answers she didn’t want to do it while he was away. He notes that she came to leave her ring and necklace. Tell me when I can come to pick them up, she asks. I’m always available, he replies. Ceylin is ready to get to work. She says Tolga will represent the family, and she won’t say a word.

Ceylin tells the family they can go in. I’m not sure who this relative is, maybe the brother, but he gets upset. What do we say? We don’t know anything! We’re not criminals! Ceylin assures him, that’s not what this is about. No one is accusing you. It’s an investigation, but you’re not here to testify. The DA just wants information to figure out what happened. If you suspect anyone, it’s very important you say it. Don’t keep anything from him, okay? [they make it seem like there’s something to hide.]

Eren warns Ceylin to keep Tolga under control. He almost told Ilgaz he asked her to take the case.

 

secrets #90 part 3

Ilgaz starts by offering his condolences. The women sob. They’re devastated. Our innocent little girl is gone, Aunt Sultan says. [wasn’t she the one with dirt on her shoe, that was supposed to be watching the bride?] Ceylin says to let the DA ask his questions.

Ilgaz asks if they ID’d Ferda. The mother cries out, who threw my darling girl in the sea? We’ll find out, Ilgaz replies, but we need your help. We need you to calm down. It’s my understanding that Ferda wasn’t at the venue, that you looked for her but couldn’t find her.

Why didn’t you report her disappearance, Ilgaz asks? We didn’t want any trouble, the father (Arif) replies. Ilgaz answers, but you see that trouble found you. Arif says he was embarrassed, he felt ashamed. We were dishonored. Do you know what it’s like to tell your guests that the bride is gone?

Ilgaz says, if you informed the police, maybe none of this would have happened. Do you suspect anyone? Had Ferda behaved in any way that made you suspicious? Who would kill my daughter, the mother (Izram) cries, she was too young to have enemies.

Sultan says to Izram, maybe it was Ismail. Izram replies, he’s crazy, but why would he hurt her? He loved her. Sultan thinks maybe he thought if he couldn’t have her, no one would. Izram says that’s possible. Akif thought they broke up. Sultan says that Ferda looked very nervous on the wedding day. Ismail would call her sometimes. Maybe he asked her to run away with him. Maybe he took her by force. Sultan’s husband is upset now. He asks, why didn’t you tell us that? Akif says, you said they broke up and he wouldn’t be an issue. The brother says that wasn’t the case.

Eren asks, who is Ismail? Izram says he was Ferda’s boyfriend. He came with his family to ask for her hand, but Arif refused them. Arif explains that Ismail is unemployed and lives off his father. I couldn’t do that to my daughter. She’d starve to death. [but he could marry her off to someone she doesn’t know.] Izram shouts, but she’d be happy and alive!

Ilgaz asks for Ismail’s last name. Yender. Where does he live, Ilgaz asks, what does he do for a living? No one answers. Ilgaz asks if there’s anything they know about Ismail. No answers. Eren takes the name down and leaves the room.

The tech guy tells Eren he couldn’t find a pic on the phone that was found. Eren is surprised. Is there anything? Messages? Social media? Calls? Only the most recent calls, the tech says. They were from someone named Ismail Yender. Ismail contacted her 17 times on the wedding day. He called and messaged her. The last call came at 7:30p.

Eren thinks. The officiant arrived at 8:15. He asks the tech, are you sure he was the last person to call her? Yes. Another cop comes in and says they have Ismail’s address. Should I send out a team? What are you waiting for, Eren replies, move!

Akif says, when we couldn’t find her, we realized she was kidnapped. Rat-fet interrupts to say the wedding photographer is at the station. Ilgaz says to ask him if he noticed anything. Ilgaz asks the family if they can think of anyone else. They can’t.

Ilgaz says, we will find Ismail and find out where he was and what he was doing that night. We will keep you informed. We will contact you if we need anything else. Don’t leave the city. Ilgaz wants a list of the wedding guests.

Ceylin asks the brother for the guest list and the seating arrangement. The brother says that people sat wherever they wanted. He can get the guest list from his mother. Izram asks about her daughter’s body. The uncle says Eren Komiser told them they had to do an autopsy first. Izram starts crying and Akif tells her let’s go, we have guests at home.

 

secrets #90 part 4

Tolga is rattled by all this. He thinks he should have been a florist. Will it always be like this, he asks. You get used to it, Ceylin replies. Your presence and help will comfort them a little. But you’re also missing the point. Here’s another lesson for you. Flowers are good on happy and sad days.

Derya calls Ceylin. She can’t stop throwing up. Ceylin asks if she is sick. Derya says she doesn’t know, and she’s also very emotional. Ceylin smiles and walks away from Tolga to talk. Derya! Please don’t say it, Derya replies, it’s too soon. I called so you could suggest other possibilities. Ceylin responds, too soon? You’re getting married!

This is different, Derya says, I’m not marrying him because I’m pregnant, but because I love him. And now you’re pregnant, Ceylin replies, what more do you want? You should be thrilled. If you have a boy, you should name him Aslan (lion) or Kaplan (tiger), it would be suitable. [because Pars means leopard or panther.]

Derya says she’s terrified. She asks, can’t it be anything else? She mentions the pandemic. Maybe I’m sick. [this was filmed during the pandemic.] Ceylin tells her to take a test. Maybe you’re sick or going through an emotional crisis before your wedding. What does Pars think? Derya says she hasn’t told him and doesn’t think she will right now.

Ceylin will buy a test for her. Derya says that Pars is taking her home and they can meet in a half hour. Don’t tell anyone. Who would I tell, Ceylin replies, you’re my only friend.

Ha, Ilgaz is watching Ceylin from the window, and she catches him looking.

Derya goes back to Pars. He jokes he’s been standing waiting there so long, he’s grown roots. Photosynthesis is starting. She asks him to take her home and then he can go. She needs to rest. Pars is at a loss at her behavior… Allah, Allah…

Ceylin buys the test kit. Maybe she’s wishing it was for her.

Ilgaz orders Eren and the team to get statements from all the waitstaff, employees, and the venue owner. When we get the guest list, find out if anyone has priors. Rat-fet says he looked at the wedding footage and it looked fine to him, but he’ll defer to Ilgaz. Ilgaz asks, where’s the photographer? Rat-fet says he told him to leave.

Ilgaz is not pleased—why didn’t you ask me first? Rat-fet says he got the guy to talk but he was clueless. [Like you, Rat-fet?] He had no idea the bride was kidnapped. He has nothing important to say. Ilgaz leaves with Eren to look at the footage. The rest of the team looks at Rat-fet because they can’t believe how stupid he is. He tells them he’s the hardest working guy there and then yells at them to get back to work!

Ilgaz and Eren comment on Rat-fet’s work ethic. Eren notices it every day when the Rat runs off at 6p.

IT guy says there’s not much to see since there was no wedding. Just a few test shots. The camera weaves all over the place. We see the fathers speaking to each other. And hey… there’s Fake Cetin Selcuk! The brother (?) pays the musicians. Ilgaz notices that the brother has a gun tucked into his waistband and wonders if he has a license. Eren says maybe it’s to shoot in the air. Whatever it is, Ilgaz says, it’s not good. Eren complains about the quality of the filming. It’s making his head spin.

Parla gives Merdan Dede a big hug and big thanks. She won’t forget what he did for her. She keeps hugging him. You’re like a grandpa to me, she says, I love you so much. Merdan says, there’s an answer to every problem we face. But there’s no remedy for something that’s already passed. I tried to prevent this, but there’s no stopping fate.

 

secrets #90 part 5

Tugce says they brought gifts for Merdan, and she gives hers first. It’s a backgammon set. Cinar recommended things you would like, she says. Merve got him crossword puzzles and sudoku. Parla gives him prayer beads.

Eren keeps complaining about the photographer. He makes fun of the typical things you see at a wedding. That’s it for the footage.

Umut tells Eren and Ilgaz that Ismail is missing. His family says they last saw him two days ago. The father says he took his car. We checked the addresses the family provided but we can’t find him anywhere. Ilgaz says to use his phone to track him. Find him and bring him here. Ilgaz wants to know more about the girl’s family. Did she have a friend?

Ceylin brings the test kit to Derya. She does the test but can’t bring herself to look at the result. She sends Ceylin to do it. The results are in… two lines! Ceylin delivers the happy news to Derya with a big hug—you’re pregnant! Derya sobs and sinks to a seat, I’m scared, Ceylin. I’m terrified.

Ilgaz reviews what they have so far. Eren asks him if he wants to order food. Ilgaz says he’s going home. But he asks, what do you know about Ismail? Did you find him? Eren says according to GPS records, Ismail is still in Sile and our agents are looking for him.

Ilgaz thinks it’s odd that Ismail is still in Sile. As long as he’s alive, Eren answers. If he had kidnapped her, he wouldn’t have hurt her. But if they were caught while they escaped… I shouldn’t get ahead of myself. [let me do it for you, Eren. Once they mentioned she had a boyfriend, Ismail, I had a terrible feeling this was an honor killing. Her red ribbon was removed. Whatever it is, it’s terrible.]

Ilgaz shows Eren a pic from the bride’s room that was posted to social media. It’s the bride and groom. Ilgaz notes the bride was wearing a necklace. She wasn’t wearing it when we found the body. Eren says the divers didn’t find it either. Ilgaz says to find it. He leaves for the day.

Ceylin is about to knock on Metin’s door when Merdan’s guests start filing out. It’s uncomfortable. Aylin explains they were there to see Merdan. Awkward greetings. Gul exits. Ceylin? She walks past her mother without acknowledgement. Metin comes out to speak with Gul.

Merdan pats a place on the sofa next to him. Ceylin smiles.

Metin advises Gul to be patient. She (Ceylin) has a very big heart. She’s been through a lot and I’m sure she’ll forgive you. Give her more time. Inshallah, Gul replies, Metin Bey… what happened? Did they get divorced? Metin has no answer. Gul asks to let her know if she mentions anything or if he hears anything. He agrees.

Gul tells him that Ceylin no longer speaks to her. I understand why, but it still breaks my heart. We’ve been worried about her. She abandoned me, but I’m her mother. [yes, a mother who disowned her when she represented Cinar.] I never experienced anything like this, to know nothing. I feel terrible. Metin says he understands and will let her know.

Ceylin asks Merdan how he’s doing. I could ask you the same thing, he replies. She gets teary and shakes her head. She hugs Grandpa and he comforts her.

And we are out.

This whole thing about their "traditions" makes my skin crawl. The whole patriarchal crap about you and I are friends, buddy; you have a girl and I have a boy turns my stomach. I had forgotten that Ismail showed up to honorably ask for Ferda's hand and was refused.

Aylin, pfft! Someone here mentioned that Aylin might have gotten their house in a divorce. But are they even divorced? And, if she sold the place, she's committed fraud. Osman has every right to ask for help because he's been fired. From what we've seen Aylin hadn't worked a day in her life until Ceylin took her on. She said "we saved". Sounds like she put the money HE earned into a jar. Oh well, I've been over Aylin since Epi #1, so what else is new?

Does Ilgaz have to demonstrate he's wearing at stick at all times? Tolga was going to be the "official" attorney for the questioning at the courthouse.

Derya's behavior is again odd. This is a woman who's been married once before and is a state prosecutor. And she can't buy a pregnancy test? I kept expecting someone to see Ceylin buying it and broadcast it all over Istanbul.

I love Pars' humor. The waiting so long photosynthesis is happening was terrific. We need Pars now because the whole dizi is dark, dark, dark.

I had a thought when they were viewing the wedding photos. They were so bad that Eren kept complaining. Could Ismail have shown up pretending to be a photographer in order to stop the wedding?

I enjoy Ceylin and Merdan together.

Ceylin is sensitive as well as smart. The lawyer I would want. But do she and Eren really expect Ilgaz to believe Tolga is representing the bride's family?

I'm not used to this insecure Derya. Ceylin made me laugh when she said, "I have no friends, so who would I tell?"

Ceylin was late to the divorce hearing and missed it. If it was important to her she would have arranged her schedule to make sure she could make it. I think she consciously or subconsciously did not want to make it.

Cetin / Selcuk gets around. He was stalking Neva, then Aylin, and now he is a wedding guest.

The Aylin-Osman divorce thing is confusing. They've been separated for a while. I thought they went to court, it should have been finalized by now. Aylin always talks as if it was final. She also spoke as if the house was hers in the settlement. Maybe she just feels entitled because of all her pain and suffering. Give me a break! Wait till they find out she was swindled.

Derya's behavior does seem odd. But Derya has trauma from her first marriage.

"Ceylin made me laugh when she said, "I have no friends, so who would I tell?" I lol'd too, Niecie.

Right Lucio, the Faker was watching Neva on her vacation with that loser Cuneyt. What ever happened to Cuneyt? He was arrested for fighting. Did he get a life sentence?

Ismail is brought to the station. He was found in a hotel near the wedding venue. He had been drinking heavily and was passed out. Eren says to put him in a cell to sober up and he’ll be questioned tomorrow.

Ceylin and Merdan walk outside. He can’t walk past a certain point, but he’s not complaining. Thanks to you, he says, I can look at the night sky. Do you know how blessed I feel to be out of prison? I’m home with my loved ones.

Did you get Ayten a job, Ceylin asks. She started yesterday, Merdan replies. Did Yekta say anything, Ceylin asks, does he suspect anything? Merdan says there’s nothing to worry about. Ayten is smart, she’ll find a way. You lit the flame of revenge. If you lose yourself to the fire and stoke it for long, he warns, you’ll burn yourself and what you hold dear will turn to ash.

Ceylin replies, I have nothing left. It might seem like I don’t care, like I’m unfeeling, but that’s not the case. It’s hard to pretend you don’t love someone when you do. It starts to thunder. They head back inside.

Ceylin knocks on Ilgaz’s door. You said you were available, that’s why I didn’t call. I’ll get my things and go. Ilgaz knows she’s been there for a while. She tells him she was visiting Merdan. Can I get my things? He lets her in. She looks in the drawers, they are empty. Ilgaz made it easier for her and packed. Are you in such a hurry to get rid of me, she asks, is this how you make a clean break?

When I got back and saw everything was still here, Ilgaz says, I thought you couldn’t stand the idea of being here. I wanted to make it easier for you. She’s ticked. I get it, you want me out of your life asap. That’s why you were upset when I was late to the hearing. Good luck to your next lover.

Ilgaz is upset now and he grabs her arm. I’m not making room for anyone. I’m trying to pick up the pieces. I left so I wouldn’t have to smell your scent. I still don’t know how I’m going to sleep in that bed! Don’t treat me like I’m heartless. You know very well how much I love you. Fine, she replies, I’ll take my things and leave.

He tries to help her with the suitcases. She can do it. He raises his voice—you’re stubborn! She shouts back, I’m trying to get used to living without you! Do you care? Ceylin heads out into the pouring rain. She can’t get a taxi. Ilgaz watches her from the window. And there’s that lurker guy walking by.

Ilgaz finally goes outside to help Ceylin. He’s going to take her in his car. Of course, she resists. She’ll wait for a taxi. He loads her cases in his car. There are no taxis.

They arrive at her office. They are both soaking wet. Ilgaz asks for a towel. He dries his hair. Ceylin needs a towel, too. Ilgaz takes his and starts to dry her hair. Flashback to an earlier time, he dried her hair and remembered when he first kissed her. End flash. She tells him to take the towel with him for the drive back.

Lacin visits Ceylin. So the test was positive, Ceylin asks, Omer is Yekta’s son? Yes. What did the narcissist do when he found out? He wasn’t happy, Lacin replies. Of course not, Ceylin says, it’s impossible for someone like him to be happy about something so human.

That sweet boy is far too nice, says the oblivious Lacin, I never would have thought he was related to Yekta. That’s Omer’s curse, Ceylin replies. Lacin says she’s put up with Yekta for Omer’s sake and because you asked me to. But I’ve had it with him. I can’t stand him anymore. The incident with Serdar… your separation from Ilgaz… I can’t take it anymore. I want to cut all ties with Yekta!

I know, Ceylin says, and you’re right. But what did we say? Yekta needs to feel proud of himself and see me as a loser. I’ll use his own tactics to get back at him. I need more time. Lacin asks, do you think it will work? Ceylin says she has no choice. I’ll make him regret what he did to me.

Tolga brings the wedding guest list to Ceylin. She scans it and tells him to get it to Ilgaz. She apologizes to Lacin, she has to leave. She thanks Lacin for all she’s doing and for being so patient. Good will triumph in the end. Inshallah. [I’m wondering if this dizi will end well.]

Ilgaz and Eren have Ismail in the interrogation room. The guy is shaky. He starts his story. Ferda and I started dating in school. She was my first love. She was a decent girl. He starts to cry. My family asked for her hand, but we were refused. I was angry. I didn’t take action after being rejected. I work for my father. Her father said I couldn’t support a household and that I should open a business. I loved her very much and I wouldn’t give up. In the end, he said he’d think it over.

So Ferda left you, Ilgaz asks. Ferda loved me, Ismail replies. Eren notes she was going to marry someone else. She didn’t love him, Ismail answers, she wouldn’t leave me. Would she give up on true love just like that? We weren’t going to give up. I told her we needed to run away so we couldn’t be found. I told her so on the day we asked for her hand. I work two other jobs. I work nights and weekends. I would have done anything for her.

Ismail continues, while we were saving to run away, the wedding date was set. Ilgaz asks, she was forced to get married? Yes, she was, Ismail sobs. I told her we should run, that I wouldn’t give her up. She was okay with the plan. Her brother and father caught her as she was leaving. They didn’t let her leave. On the day of the wedding, I found a place by the venue and told her to wait for me there. She said she would… then she said she wouldn’t. Then she said she’d go. Ismail starts crying again.

Ilgaz asks, what did you do? I waited there all night, Ismail replies. When she didn’t show, I got upset and cried. And I got drunk. When the police came to get me, I knew something was wrong. I heard the news this morning. He cries, if only I had taken her with me. If anyone hurt Ferda, it was her brother or father. They killed her. When she ran away, they beat her. They killed Ferda and me, they ruined everything.

Would a parent kill their child, Ismail asks. This isn’t over, I promise you. Ilgaz says, we’ll find the culprits and they will be punished. Their punishment is not up to you. You say that now because it hurts, but if you get out of line, I’ll have you arrested. Don’t make this worse. Ilgaz gives his condolences. May God give you patience. Ismail asks, will He? Ilgaz doesn’t know, all you can do is wait and ask.

Ismail is taken from the room. Eren says this really affected him. Ismail was madly in love with Ferda. Goksu and Anil arrive. Anil says the girl didn’t drown as he suspected. Toxicology reports revealed she overdosed on sedatives. Did she commit suicide, Ilgaz asks. Eren says, maybe she did if she was being forced to marry. Goksu says in order to die of an overdose, she needed to take more than ten sedatives.

Anil adds, when we examined the contents of her stomach and ran blood tests, we couldn’t find traces of the gelatin used to cover the pill. Not enough to account for the dose she took. Goksu says that someone took the medication, opened it, and then she ingested it with something. Probably cherry juice, Anil says, we found that in her stomach. The ribbon tied around her ankle was used to bind her to a weight.

Goksu says the divers found a new tire on the sea floor. It matches the tracks found at the scene. She had lots of old bruises, Anil says, her ribs were broken. Are we sure someone killed her, Ilgaz asks. Both Goksu and Anil nod yes. Eren concludes, someone killed her and disposed of her body to get rid of the evidence.

Ilgaz wants both families brought to the station. We’ll question them one by one and find out what they are hiding. And Ilgaz wants to look at recordings again.

Ceylin tells Tolga she made a decision after yesterday’s storm. She’s taking out a loan and getting a car. She' sorry she sold her previous car. [I wondered what happened to it.]

Ismail comes out of the station as Ceylin enters. We see the lurker who has been following everyone.

Now that they know more about the families, Ilgaz and Eren look at the wedding video again. Ceylin comes into the office. She hands over the wedding guest list. She takes a peek at the video and sees Fake Cetin Selcuk and comments, uh oh, what’s that man doing there? Ilgaz quickly shuts the laptop.

Ilgaz asks, who is that man? Ceylin says he’s the man that told Aylin he was a doctor. I gave you his number so you could investigate him. He’s the idiot that goes by the name of Cetin Sarioglu. Eren wonders what he was doing at Ferda’s wedding. Ceylin asks to see the video again. Ilgaz hesitates, but let’s her see it.

Ceylin gets a call and Eren notes she’s not using earphones. She tells him she got rid of everything that stops her flow [she left out: including Ilgaz]. Could the Faker be related to one of the families?

Ceylin answers the call a male voice says: tell your husband not to shake things up. The bride is dead. Call it a suicide and close the case. Don’t let the investigation drag on or we will ruin him. You will pray Al-Fatiha at his funeral.

Eren and Ilgaz notice the concerned look on her face. Is something the matter? No, Ceylin replies, it’s an automated call about my heater. Nothing important. Why do they call when I’m busy? Don’t call! They stare at her.

Ceylin turns the attention back to the wedding video. Why was Cetin at the wedding? Ilgaz asks if he’s still in touch with Aylin. She’s not sure. Ilgaz says they’ll look into it. He also wants to see the bride’s family. Tell Tolga I contacted the bride’s family, Ilgaz tells Ceylin. She asks why. Ilgaz says the bride didn’t drown, she was murdered. She either took pills or someone forced her. Ceylin is shocked. She leaves. Ilgaz comments about Ceylin, something happened, right? Eren agrees.

Outside the station, Ceylin thinks about the call. She turns around to go back inside, stops and turns back to leave.

Eren wants to question the guy who shot the video. [or maybe he just wants to shoot the guy.] Knowing what they know now, Ilgaz thinks the family (?) looks a little tense, like they are hiding something. A cop tells them the team at the scene are waiting for further orders.

Ilgaz and Eren head out. Another cop tells them that the tire tracks at the scene indicate this was a commercial cargo vehicle. Ilgaz says to review the guest list and see who drives one like that.

Ilgaz catches Rat-fet is yakking about non-work stuff to the guys when he should be working. Ilgaz tells the lazy Rat that there’s a report on the tire tracks and assigns him the task of going through the guest list to see who drives that type of vehicle. You want me to do that, Rat-fet asks? Who am I talking to, Ilgaz fires back. Ratfet replies, I understand, savcım. Could’ve fooled me, Ilgaz mutters as he walks away.

Eren and Ilgaz head outside and they are approached by a reporter wanting an update on the bride case. They blow him off.

Ayten takes snaps of documents in Yekta’s office. Yekta walks in. What are you doing, he asks. I baked cookies for everyone, she replies, to celebrate my new job. I don’t know if the others will like them, but I figured you would. He looks interested. What kind, he asks. Ginger…my recipe is a crowd favorite. My favorite, he says. He takes one and bites into it. Mmmm…. Delicious… they would revive a dead person. [Is he flirting with her? lol]

They laugh. He licks his fingers. She offers to get him a coffee. He stops her and asks, do you oversee the floor? There was someone else here recently. Ah yes, Semiha Hanım, Ayten replies, she also manages the floor. We split up the work. Yekta tells her, you can stay here from now on, handle things here. Keep doing what you’re doing. My office and I are to be your main priority. [Good grief, is he giggling at her?] As you wish, she replies.

Ayten goes, Yekta eats another cookie. He looks through the papers on his desk [that Ayten snapped] and calls Aysun—have Omer come to my office right now!

Ceylin comes to see Pars. Pars starts talking about wedding stuff. He asks Ceylin if she received her invitation. Yes. He talks about witnesses and asks, is it okay if Ilgaz participates? We’re not children, she replies, it’s fine. You look tense, he says, I thought you were worried. She snaps back, can we stop talking about the wedding for a minute? That’s not why I’m here.

I got a call from an unknown number, Ceylin says, and the caller mentioned Ilgaz’s case. The dead bride case? Yes, she replies, I was told he’d be killed if he didn’t close the case. Ilgaz said the bride didn’t drown, she was killed. We have a killer on the streets. Maybe the caller is the killer. Pars wonders why they called Ceylin. Maybe because I’m his wife, she says.

Omer says Berkhan Tokdemir left the newspaper because he got into an argument with the manager and owner. Both parties reported each other. Then he was fired. He left without making a fuss. What a sad ending, Yekta comments. Omer continues, exactly one week before his death, Berkhan met with his boss at a play and they had another argument. What a coincidence, Yekta laughs, life 2, Berkhan 0.

Omer picks up, Berkhan had called the cops on his upstairs neighbor twice. They got into a verbal altercation and then a physical one in a parking lot. There were witnesses. Yekta thinks Berkhan was a rash and irritable man. Omer says Berkhan wrote an article about a factory. The owner’s guards threatened and subsequently attacked him. He had to be hospitalized.

Yekta asks, who handled the case? Was it Chief Rafet? Omer says no. They said Haluk was their only suspect, Yekta recalls. We will meet at the prison at 2. Let’s tell Haluk what happened so he can see how hard we are working to save him. Yekta gives a compliment—Omer… well done, son. [Wow, a faint hint of a smile on Omer? That’s the most emotion he’s ever showed.]

Think about it, Pars says, back then I was new to this courthouse. AG Melih was yet to be promoted to AG. I didn’t know anyone and was trying to fit in. And then threats came in and I was so tense. Nothing came of it, Ceylin. All bark and no bite. Ceylin is not convinced--so everything’s fine, AG Pars?

You become proper when you’re upset, Pars notes. He’s going to be fine, trust me. The murderer is trying to get away with it. He’s using the easiest method. Ask Ilgaz, I’m sure he’s come across similar situations. In any case, I’ll have someone look into the number. Ceylin is frustrated. She tells Pars, if anything happens to Ilgaz, I’ll blame you.

Pars tells Ceylin to calm down. I don’t think you understand, she replies, you didn’t hear his voice. The caller is serious. Okay, Pars answers, I’ll tell Ilgaz. We will be careful. We’ll assign protection if need be. Do you feel better now? She does. Pars calls Ridvan about identifying the phone number.

Ceylin sees Derya in the hallway. Ceylin asks, did you tell him? Shhh… Derya whispers, no one knows, I haven’t told anyone. No one can know. They go outside for air.

Eren, Ilgaz and the forensics team arrive at the wedding venue. Eren announces, stop what you’re doing and don’t touch anything. Ilgaz gives orders. The body of a woman was found near this venue. As you know, we believe the deceased was drugged and poisoned in her private quarters.

Ilgaz continues, unfortunately, everyone panicked and went into shock. After the guests left, the place was cleaned. Then another wedding was held here. It will be very difficult to find any evidence here. But a trace or clue must be left behind. Be more thorough than usual. Let’s find something. Start in the bride’s room. Focus on the pills, Ilgaz tells Goksu. Look for an empty capsule.

Ilgaz asks Eren to come with him. Let’s take the car to the back entrance and find out how long it would take to get to the cliff. That way we will know who left in that time frame.

Derya recalls, Erhan and I wanted children. We worked hard to have them. We went to the doctor and everything looked fine, but we couldn't get pregnant. When Erhan looked at me, I felt at peace. I knew he tried to make up for it and I just accepted it. I told myself it would never happen, that was my luck. Just as I had given up, I found out I was pregnant.

At the cliff Ilgaz theorizes, if he was alone, he got her out of the car, tied her to the tire and threw her in the water in 10 minutes. Eren thinks this was a two person job. She had to be put in the car, brought here and dumped on the ground. Then tied to the tire. A lookout would be needed. Ilgaz agrees. He says, let’s go back to see how long it will take.

Derya continues her story. The day I gave him the news, he picked me up from work. I walked outside… and Erhan was shot before my eyes. Right on the day he found out he was going to be a father. Derya cries. One week later, I lost the baby. I was overcome with grief and I failed to protect what he had given me. I couldn’t protect it. That’s why I can’t do it.

Ceylin asks, what do you mean? I can’t, Derya replies. Ceylin asks again, what do you mean you can’t?

And we are out.

So Lacin is in cahoots with Ceylin to get Yekta. Lacin is a sweet lady, but she must be made of steel to put up with Yekta living in her house.

Oh boy, if Yekta has googly eyes for Ayten, que horror for her!

At least Derya shared her anguish with Ceylin. That's a start.

The bride had old bruises, probably from her own family. Sad.
