VENCER LA CULPA #9

I wasn't very happy with most of the females in this episode for the most part.

After Leandro and Tamara INSISTING that Everardo didn't plan the mistake with his medication to make life difficult for Amanda, she gives in just to shut them up and says she might have made a mistake REALLY??? At least her grandson thinks that Everardo set her up and insists he is going to prove it. I sure hope he does. I also hope she doesn't go back to woking after him again. I have little respect for her at this point.

I just knew that the BRAT aka Julieta was going to throw a tantrum when Manuela told her that they would not be moving into Leandro's apartment. At least Manuela held her own on this one and avoided Leandro's attempt to get way too friendly with her.

Manuela's problem is that whenever she should be working like attending to Dulce, she has been on the phone with Julieta. How do these people keep their jobs anyway? I long for a novela where it is the old days where there is only one phone in the house and no answering machines.

So, Lorena visited the domestic violence shelter to see who Manuela was with the story that her foundation wanted to donate money to their cause. Interesting that neither Manuela or her assistant thought she was legit.

Here is hoping that Lorena gets more of a backbone when dealing with Leandro who very easily had her apologizing for her questioning why he had no time for her. I had to laugh when he told her that she had too much time on her hands and should take a class.

Carmina just proved again what a *itch she is by slow walking getting Pablo a replacement credit card and wiring him some money. She suspects he wanted the money for a private detective. She wants to get him back home ASAP and then seems to have a plan to get him to stay there(?)

At least we know how Dulce and Genaro met due to a sushi delivery gone wrong and how they were instantly attracted to each other. It sure didn't take long for her to be afraid of him as he was pounding on her door wanting her to let him in. At least, Amanda, Manuela and Paloma are working together to find her. Might Yaneli be finding out more about her brother than she wants know?

BEST PART of episode: Enrique finally got to go to the animal shelter and get a dog called Ranchera. Unfortunately, he didn't have any time to put the moves on Amanda yet.

MINAS #59 Part 1

Any additional comments/explanations are greatly appreciated as are any corrections. The dialogue continues to be enormously challenging.

Emilia laments to Aleida about Leo and Sara.

Sebas walked in on Sara and Danilo; Danilo tries to cover up the awkward situation by mumbling something about a personal situation and then shaking Sara’s hand and leaving. Sebas seems rather contemptuous about Sara being there and of Sara in general.

Leo speaks to Marijo in the mine, apologizing to her. His sadness about Emilia covers him like a shroud.

Roberta is giving Patricio a (well deserved) dressing down. It seems the company has no money; all was given to pay Victoria the contracted amount; there is nothing left to invest. Roberta orders him out and tells him she needs to be alone to think.

Orlando pays a visit to Fidel who orders they not be disturbed. Orlando will be able to reopen the restaurant!

Gigi and Jenny meet with a fertility specialist. Jenny has to commandeer the conversation from Gigi who is answering for Jenny. The doctor asks about previous pregnancies. Jenny flashes back to telling a friend she is pregnant. “Jennifer Michele” Gigi calls out as Jenny flees the office.

Roberta calls Fidel and ends up slamming the phone down. I’m alone she admits. Oh, and we are so sorry Roberta! NOT!

Marijo’s admiring miner is pushed away from her by Gael. When he objects, Gael punches him and he doesn’t seem to be getting up. Marijo goes to his side and calls Gael an animal. Ramiro takes Gael to task as Tigre comes up. Ramiro threatens to report Gael to La Patrona. Tigre is annoyed with his son for causing problems. Marijo tries to speak up but Tigre doesn’t want to hear it. Marijo, who toyed with Gael, knowingly sparking his jealousy, stands and pouts.

Outside the doctor’s office, Gigi caught up with Jenny. Gigi tries to get Jenny to talk to her. She tells her Orlando loves her as Jenny continues to cry.

Sara recalls her passionate kisses with Danilo. She texts him she needs to see him. He is also daydreaming about their romantic rendezvous; he is obsessed. “Mujer divine” he begins as she calls him. She wants to see him, he offers to go there but before she can say no, Leo appears at the door. From what she says, Danilo has correctly deduced Leo was there and listening.

Roberta visits Victoria in the mines. Roberta wants to be associates! I think Victoria rejects her offer of a partnership as after she leaves, Roberta looks concerned.

Victoria and Aleida walk in on Sara and Leo. Victoria’s long sleeved, conservative white pointed collar blouse atop the black leather dress with a sweetheart neckline is very strange.

Diana

MINAS #59 Part 2 of 2

Patricio is again on the hot seat. I loathe Patricio but I don’t know how Roberta can blame his ineptness when it is she who barks out the orders; it was her decision to pay Victoria what she asked.

Victoria, Danilo and Aleida meet in Roberta’s office. I believe they are concerned Victoria rejected Roberta’s offer saying she might never have another such opportunity.

Danilo is in his office hardly working. He can’t get Sara out of his thoughts. Sara is also drowning in thoughts as she gets a text from him “…mi musa. Necesito verde”.

Sara gets a call from Gigi asking her for a huge favor for Jenny. If anyone can fill in what that was, kindly do so.

Victoria is in her car outside the gates of Roberta’s house, musing about Nico.

“Answer me” Danilo begs as he phones Sara. Aleida, now well aware of his feelings for Sara and knows what’s what, walks in and catches him, gently teasing him.

Teresa brings Gigi comfort in the form of soothing cucumber slices for her eyes…At that moment, Miriam and her son come in. Gigi thaws a bit and says what a good man Sebas is. Miriam tells Gigi she is very concerned for her; she reiterates how bad Addled is and warns her to be careful. Gigi looks concerned and a bit upset as they leave.

Orlando is getting ready to reopen the restaurant and is Jenny there? Nopis, but Flor sure is. They commiserate about Fidel. She thinks back to meeting with Fidel, handing him a fistful of cash as he feels up her leg. He takes a healthy wad of bills and puts them on the table. She objects and he kisses her on the forehead. She tries in vain to advocate for Orlando to no avail. Back to the present Orlando asks her what’s wrong. She reproaches herself but keeps her thoughts to herself.

Jenny has a mini meltdown about Orlando. She has a small red satchel she removes from her bra as she sips seemingly odious tea. Under her mother’s watchful eye, Jenny replaces the satchel. “Te amo” Gigi tells her. After Gigi leaves, Jenny smashes the mug of tea on the floor and picks up the shards, cutting her hand, bleeding profusely.

Emilia is still outside Roberta’s house.

Nico tells Sara he wants to watch a movie. Sara says watch it with Leo. She starts being her nasty stepmother self and Leo rebels, saying she isn’t his mother and can’t tell him what to do. Things escalate quickly and Leo decides he is going to run away.

As Nico screams at Sara, stepping outside, Emilia sees him and calls out his name. But Nico is already running as if his life depends on it!

VENCER

Jarifa, thank you for your unfailingly thoughtful, insightful observations.

“I just knew that the BRAT aka Julieta was going to throw a tantrum when Manuela told her that they would not be moving into Leandro's apartment” mirrored my thoughts exactly. Julieta is insufferable; I can barely tolerate her in the few instances when she isn’t mewling or whining.

Genero completely unnerves me. Seemingly charming at one moment but frightening when his anger is aroused. My heart goes out to Dulce, how terrorized she was! She fell through the cracks with everyone. Had just one person stopped and listened…

Everardo and her children have been chipping away at Amanda’s sense of self-worth for years. She is such a lovely, kind person who deserves a family that will love, cherish and support her. Their continual criticisms have eroded her self-confidence to the point she continually lets them walk all over her. I hope her journey eventually gives her the strength and courage to stand up for herself.

Even seemingly confident Lorena seems somewhat cowed by Leandro, allowing him to manipulate her. It was interesting that Manuela didn’t seem to believe Lorena when she showed up.

I can’t wait for more Enrique and Ranchera!

Diana

Minas
Thanks so much, Diana. You got all the facts. I really appreciate your recaps, especially as Waterlily was unlucky enough to have an accident involving a hot water bottle that exploded. boiling water+ skin= a lot of positions that don't involve sitting:)
It wasn't clear what favour Sara was supposed to provide because she told her mum she was busy when Berta told her her sister isn't doing well and needs her family. Sara told her 'so you call her. I will calltoday if I have time.' They make Sara worse and worse. I'm starting to wonder what they are going to do with her.
It was Sara's idea to have a family movie night. Nico wanted to pick the movie they were going to watch but Sara said they'd watch something everyone would enjoy.I never thought I'd agree with her on something. Nico got angry he didn't get his way and said then hedoesn't want to watch anything.
Sounds like Flor is not just spying but also selling drugs at Orlando's restaurant. It was her idea the business Fidel has is more a kind of thing you'd find at a bar and Fidel thought this was a grand idea. She asked Fidel to let her stay with her mother before she dies and F said she was helping her more by earning money.
It's really a pity Nico is so unhappy. I suppose we are meant to think Leo did his best by trying to 'give him a family' but it was obvious Sara wasn't going to love him and Leo married her without really meaning 'to do his best' as this was only a marriage 'for the kid'.It's hard to feel sorry for him when it was obvious this was a bad idea.
I wonder what will happen if Danilo is forced to pick between Sara and E at some point. Those two are on different sides. But I can't watch him talking about how in love with her he is when it just looks more like two people meeting for sex.
Marijo was annoying. I know she's young, butI somehow thought she had a bit more sense.
It made me laugh when Patrichio told Roberta 'if only you were losing money...there's no money to lose anymore.' I do have to say Roberta's unwillingness to give up is quite something. She also lamented the fact Mari isn't dead and R can't keep her money. Now how long will it be before anaccident in the mine puts Mari's life at risk or something similar. That's why the bad guys win so easily: they have no limits at all.

"MINAS" EPISODE #59:

Diana: NOT shocked Sara turned into StepMommy Dearest (see Joan Crawford beating her kids) & escalating her mistreatment of Nico.

Memo to Danillo: You want this Crazy Whacky Blonde. You can have the nutjob because you two dumbasses deserve each other.

Waterlily: Drug-Trafficking UGH. Why am I NOT surprised by these developments ? Does the production staff have anything else to offer us ?

MINAS

Oh Waterlily, I am so sorry to hear of your accident. Boiling water sounds truly painful. I am sending you healing prayers!

Thank you for your kind words. I was so relieved that I was able to "get" a few things right overall. I so appreciate all that you provided and with such grand humor!

I hadn't understood Flor came up with the idea to sell drugs (or that they were selling them). It doesn't seem as though she will get to see her mother before she passes. While I feel for her, she never should have proposed selling drugs, so hurtful and harmful...

Your observation that Sara "wasn't going to love (Nico) him" was spot on. She resented him from the onset. She doesn't even seem to love her daughter does she??

Danilo is SO much better than Sara, their coupling makes no sense.

Roberta is laser focused and you are SO right; she just doesn't give up...

I will put sonething up for tonight.

Diana

MINAS

Steve, Sara is no mother of the year, that's for sure.

Can't argue there!

Diana

Minas
Diana, I didn't express my thoughts correctly. Flor told Fidel something along the lines of 'it' being more a bar thing. I'm not sure what she meant by this. But I don't think she realised Fidel was going to use this idea. I'm assuming she is selling drugs because Fidel said she gets paid well for not doing much. But maybe it's not exactly selling and more like bringing the goods to the buyer or something. Unless she meant that offering her services to men is more a bar thing? But that's not what 'not much work' sounds like. Maybe she is only supposed to bring Fidel the money she gets from those who buy drugs? But then wouldn't she be the one who has the goods, too? If she has the cash, there's something going on. Fidel also told her she isn't in danger because he is the boss. After hearing this I remember thinking that either police orsome criminals might get her.

Minas

Diana and Waterlily , thank you both for providing a recap. I will look for some photos .

Waterlily, ouch....that hot water bottle accident sounds painful . I hope you are okay .

Well, Gigi doesn't seem to be helping Jen much . It would be better if Orlando accompanied her to the doctor . Did Jen have an abortion ?

It is a mystery why Dan is so smitten with cranky , sullen Sara. I guess the bunnyhopping was spectacular . Dan deserves better .

It will be very interesting to see how the writers wrap this story up. They have painted Seb and Dan as truly good souls , loyal and protective of those around them , but Leo has been written as a do nothing , passive, depressed guy. I am also not a big fan of Em, so I am okay with them ending up together . I would like better mates for Seb and Dan .

Is Miriam's warning to Gigi that Addled is dangerous foreshadowing ? Will Addled try to eliminate Gigi?

Fidel and Rob deserve each other, so I hope that they are standing close when the anvils start to drop.

I want to see Orlando with his mom. That will be a love!y reunion full of smiles and hugs.

I liked young Gael much better than older Gael. Susan

Vencer

Thanks, Jarifa. I have to agree with you that most of the women we’re disappointing last night.

I was so mad that Amanda’s kids sided with their dad. I can understand Leandro siding with his dad. Even though he is usually more decent to his mother than his sister is, he is his father’s son. I think his father raised him to not respect women. I’m not sure why the daughter treats her like she does. I’m hoping Enrique will help her walk away from her family. He’s so kind and respectful to her. Has he(the actor) ever played a bad guy?

Lorena apologizing to Leandro was crazy. She’s pretty sure he’s cheating on her but he convinces her she expects too much from him because he works so much. She already knows he’s not always working when he says he is.

I was glad Manuela had turned down the apartment. I hope her whiny brat doesn’t get her to change her mind. I can’t stand Julieta, I don’t see how her family can put up with her.

I hope Yaneli will eventually join the other three to find Dulce. I know it would be awkward for her as I’m sure she suspects her brother.

Liz

Vencer

Jarifa,,thanks for the recap. As with all "Vencers," we will see the women uniting to solve their various problems. Susan

minas
Susan, it does seem Jen had an abortion. I think that friend who promised to help her was the one in the hospital with her. We saw this flashback a few episodes ago. It appears they went to a very shady hospital because the doctor there was very unsympathetic.

Vencer #9

Gracias, Jarifa.

Our protagonistas are really starting from the ground up.

I think Amanda will end up adopting Yaneli whose brother is seriously no good. But she needs to get free of Everardo first.

Tamara must have been brainwashed by him since childhood. She has no respect for Amanda at all. Does she work? Did she even go to college?

Carmina is a piece of work and her abuse needs to be exposed.

Here's hoping that Manuela doesn't cave.

Minas

Waterlily, thanks . I kind of shudder at the thought of Jen becoming a mother. I haven't seen her concerned about anybody but herself, and her sister Sara has not been a great mother to her daughter or Nico. Susan

MINAS

Thank you waterlily! If Flor is involved at all in drugs (procuring, selling, moving), she is guilty. And it seems she is, even to some small degree.

Thanks Susan! I would also prefer "better mates for Dan and Sebas"! But I fear this is definitly heading in Sara and Miriam's direction.

Addled plays the buffoon but there's no doubt he is extremely dangerous. Gigi should pay heed.

Roberta "lamented the fact Mari isn't dead" was so startling waterlily. We know she feels that way but I hadn't understood she actually said that. Chilling.

I cannot wait for the Orlando/Aleida reunion!! And for justice for Fidel...

Diana

VENCER

Liz, Juan Carlos Barreto was a villain in La double vida de Estela Carrillo and a rather frightening one. I definitely prefer him in good guy roles.

Leandro is indeed his father's son, good point.

Urban, Tamara is terrible to her mother and seems to have no compassion or love for her.

I wonder how they are going to attempt to start finding out what happened to Dulce.

Diana

"MINAS":

Waterlily: It's so obvious Jen had the abortion UGH. I HATE storylines like that UGH & wish they don't exist.

Susan: Sounds like the Good Guys won't be winning until maybe mid-Spring 2024.

Minas #59

Gracias, Diana y Waterlily.

Waterlily,
I hope you're okay. That accident sounds seriously painful. Get well soon.

I agree that the wardrobe choices are bizarre and make no sense. That leather dress should not be paired with a button-down shirt, no woman should walk into the mine in high heels, and Gigi's color combination was painful to the eyes. Emilia/Victoria's hair is a very obvious wig. However I can't fault Livia Brito for not wanting to cut her real hair to this style.

Makeup is also bad on some. Miriam in particular; that 1920's rosebud mouth defies her natural lipline, which is ridiculous.

Sara is just as cruel as Roberta whom I now think will try to kill Marijo.

Jenny needs a shrink.

MINAS

Thank you Urban!

Yup, that leather dress is definitely a crime of fashion. Not the way to wear leather; the combination school girl and vamp "lukes" just don't work.

Great point about the makeup. I will have to look at Miriam's lipline tonight; you are very observant.

Yes, Jenny is in desperate need of counseling. And quickly.

Diana

Minas

I agree that the black leather " jumper" with the white blouse under it was odd, but I have seen this look before in a telenovela.
I saw photos online .

Miriam has some fierce eyebrows .

Vencer

I keep wondering if Genero will find redemption in the end. Unlike the other baddies (Leandro & son and Carmina), he doesn't seem smug and satisfied - but definitely violent - with how he treated Dulce and does seem to care for his sister.

It must be so hard for Amanda to break from the tradition of being a caregiver for the family. Her silly daughter thinks she herself is special and exempt from playing the role she expects from her mother. Fool.

VENCER

VENCER

Diana, I was also surprised how quickly Lorena gave in to Leandro. She needs to hang around with Manuela and her newly found friends. They can all move each other along to greater independence. I would love to see Lorena divorced from Leandro and besties with Manuela.

Liz, Juan Carlos Barreto played a real nasty villain in "La candidata", too.

Susan, "As with all "Vencers," we will see the women uniting to solve their various problems." That formula has worked so far, I hope it works here.

Urban, "Our protagonistas are really starting from the ground up." You can say that again! ; )

Niecie, I could cut Amanda some slack if her ex-husband had been decent but to put herself though his mistreatment again just so that her lazy self-centered children don't have to do anything is what I cannot take. It will be interesting to see what Genaro's story is. At the present time, apart from the apparent violence, I feel sorry for him being a kid himself with adult responsibilities having to care for Yaneli for how many years?? Neither has had an easy time it.

Vencer #9

Juan Carlos Barreto was also seriously evil in Te Acuerdas de Mi and Yo No Creo en Los Hombres. I am unfamiliar with his early work.

VENCER LA CULPA #10

THE GOOD

Manuela leads Amanda, Paloma and Yaneli to the prosecutor's office in charge of missing people to look into Dulce's disappearance. Manuela has had experience with the department through her job. The prosecutor says they will search the apartment and see if there are any security videos. Later the group, without Yaneli, is shown a video where a man is following Dulce. They both enter her apartment building. One hour later the man comes out but she doesn't. Manuela thinks the man could be the one responsible for Dulce's disappearance and that she could still be inside the building some where.

Amanda accepts Enrique's (he is a widower) invitation to go out for coffee. He is clearly interested in something more than a friendship. She is only interested in being friends and helping him with his new pet. I hope she takes up with him and tells Everardo she has a novio.

Franco is extremely critical of Paloma's work habits/processes but not necessarily the results she comes up with. He gets her attention (and mine) when he says he knows that what she does she does with love. Franco and Paloma both seem to be kind of weird in their own way.

Lorena is no fool. She even tells Amanda she is afraid that her son is cheating on her. Amanda doesn't think that Leandro would ever do that but if he ever did, she would back Lorena 100%. Later while reviewing Leandro's phone, Lorena sees Julieta's post about the new apartment she and her mother and her father are going to live in. Lorena recognizes the apartment as their apartment in Polanco. Whoopsie! I cannot see her sitting on this new found info. What will she do with it?

While Manuela is talking to Leandro about establishing parameters for his relationship with Julieta, he makes it clear that he wants them together as a family. He is getting a divorce. He blames the mess they are in now on her for not telling him she was pregnant 15 years ago. She reminds him he was cheating on her back then and leaves him sitting all alone and smirking to himself. Gabriel Soto is doing a great job of being disgusting.

THE BAD

Pablo has to wait for the private detective to start on his son's case until Carmina FINALLY transfers money to the detective's account. She makes him wait as long as she can. Pablo tells Carmina he wants a divorce. She tells him if they get divorced, he will never see Pablito again. She sends her sister to talk to the private detective about his new client Pablo. I wonder what kind of dirt she is going to come up with.

Amanda is still taking responsibilty for the pill mix up to keep peace in the family and helping out with Everardo who wants her back. She is not interested.

Leandro and Julieta have an ongoing relationship, unknown to Manuela, via phone calls and texts where they are planning things behind Manuela's back. The only truthful thing I think Leandro said was when he called Julieta "his little liar." That was truly precious!

MINAS #60 Part 1

I was unable to understand some of the dialogue in several pivotal scenes but did the best I could. Please fill in if you can and correct anything I may have gotten wrong.

After yelling at Sara, Nico runs outside as Emilia is watching from behind the iron gate. At that moment, Leo appears at her car door saying buenos noches.

At the restaurant, Flor tells Orlando she doesn’t want to cause him any problems. They are friends she says, right, then kisses him on the cheek.

I think Emilia explains her presence by telling Leo she wanted to talk to Roberta. As it isn’t a good time, she drives away, saying it can wait. Leo looks confused, as usual 😊

Roberta and Fidel just finish a tryst; mercifully we are spared everything except a few putrid kisses at the end. Fiendish plotting in lieu of pillow talk ensues; the victim? Victoria. And her money. Roberta seems confident she will be able to talk Victoria into becoming her partner, doing whatever is necessary to steal her fortune.

Miriam welcomes Sebas home. They talk about Victoria, and Miriam’s curiosity is piqued. Is she pretty she asks? More or less Sebas seems to say but is smart enough to be vague in his answer and exit as quickly as possible. After he leaves, Miriam looks decidedly jealous…

Sara is spoiling for a fight. First she snarls at one of the staff regarding Romina. Joaquina tries to intervene without success. Leo walks in and Sara stalks off, Joaquina at a loss for words.

“Mi amor” Orlando says, looking concerned as he arrives home finding Jenny bandaging her cut hand. She brushes off his concern in a brusque manner and leaves the room.

Aleida is looking at articles about Fidel when Emilia comes in, upset about what transpired; she is very concerned about Nico (not that I blame her!) Emilia muses about Roberta and Sara, monsters. Meanwhile, Nico is looking at a picture of Emilia, hugging it and crying. Emilia is fretting about her padrino as Aleida tries to cheer her up.

Leo, in pajamas, is looking up Victoria on social media when Sara comes in. She starts rubbing his back and sits on his lap. She starts kissing him but he doesn’t really seem to respond. Her anger palpable (her pervasive mindset throughout this evening), she gets up and gets into bed.

The next day at the office, Roberta slithers in while Leo is on the phone. She and Victoria are negotiating she tells him.

Sara pays a professional visit to Danilo. Lolita leaves them to their “business”. Lolita has but one foot out the door when Sara grabs Danilo and starts to kiss him which he passionately returns. He starts removing his jacket…

Victoria meets with Roberta and Leo. They continue to negotiate and it appears Victoria rejects Roberta’s first offer but not her final one; they shake on it. Victoria seems to have papers already drawn up.

Diana

MINAS #60 Part 2 of 2

Danilo now his shirt off as he and Sara grapple with their clothes and emotions. I don’t think the office shades are drawn.

Emilia is distracted, flashing back to the fire in the manicomio where Dan helped her and Aleida escape.

Your mother is a practical and intelligent woman Victoria tells Leo. It seems negotiations are finally complete as Victoria calls her “socio”. Victoria and Leo share a look but there is no love emitting from Victoria’s eyes.

Marijo is struggling with some heavy bags at the mine when Gael helps her. She is teary, reminiscing about Nico and Emilio. They end up locking lips as Ramiro shows up, scolding them. Gael leaves and Marijo gets back to work.

There is a scene at Nico’s school where he seems to have been put in his place a bit. Later, he talks to a school administrator who ends up meeting with Roberta. The meeting doesn’t seem to go smoothly as Roberta appears to leave in a huff. I’m not sure what all of this is about so if anyone can fill in, kindly do so.

Another charming breakfast at Gigi and Addled’s as discussion centers around Miriam and Sebas. She tells him to be careful in a warning voice.

Victoria meets with the miners as Tigre arrives. Ramiro is openly contemptuous and mentions La Patrona; Victoria puts him in his place. Sebas is right behind Ramiro and he questions her.

Danilo and Sara are dressing; it seems clear that Sara got what she came for; Danilo wants more. Sara decides to take this most inopportune time to impart one of the most important secrets in this entire telenovela. Just as she says “Danilo, Romina is…” Aleida comes in! JUST as she was on the verge of telling him Romina is his daughter!! Still, he is sadly none the wiser.

Sara and Danilo trip all over their words as Aleida stands there, taking it all in. Sara makes one of the most awkward departures of all time. Aleida reaches into Danilo’s pocket, taking his kerchief out, wiping his face with it. She tells him to sit down, what is it? Nothing he lies. She is exasperated and waves the kerchief at him…

Victoria admits to Sebastian that she is now Roberta’s partner. He is clearly disappointed in her as he believes this proves her ambition and that she is only out for herself.

Fidel and Addled meet at the restaurant. Fidel tells Orlando to sit down and hands him a folder. He puts a bunch of bills down but Orlando angrily pushes them away. He does walk away with the folder but I don’t know what Fidel wants him to do.

Flor tries to cheer Orlando up as Jenny comes around the corner. Orlando looks guilty and Jenny doesn’t stick around.

Addled brings Sara to a room where I believe they are preparing for a political rally.

Aleida and Victoria are discussing Roberta. Leo comes in and asks what was said about his mother! I am purposefully vague here as I didn’t catch what was said.

Diana

VENCER

Jarifa, thank you for your superb summary.

I especially loved “The only truthful thing I think Leandro said was when he called Julieta "his little liar." That was truly precious!” I fully appreciate the irony (and truth) of his comment and thank you for translating that gem!

I can’t believe Leandro’s gaul to actually invite Manuela and Julieta to live in an apartment that his family own! Lorena is neither stupid nor gullible, did he really think he would get away with it? Not only that, but he is lying through his teeth that he is getting a divorce, which he has no intention of doing. Juggling two families is impossible. Wait until Manuela finds that out. Not that it matters, she doesn’t seem to have any intention of being with him anyway but hopefully this will end any feelings she has for him. Julieta of course is going to be the problem.

I was completely baffled by the scene with Tamara and Amanda. Did she actually tell her mother that she was an excellent one? Also, is she taking the blame because her parent’s marriage failed because of her? Why would she say that?

Carmina’s declaration of love to Pablo followed by her crocodile tears had no effect on Pablo. I’m surprised it took her this long to threaten that he won’t see his son again if he goes through with the divorce.

Diana

Please I know the rules—no gossip

but I could not help myself and it does appear true!!

Blanca Soto is 5 months pregnant with Fernando's baby!!!!

Minas
Thanks so much, Diana.
It appears Roberta included a life insurance in the deal. I have to admit I'm not sure how this works, but if I understood it correctly, if E dies, Emilia's money goes to remainingpartners. So R would get the money E has invested I imagine. That's why E remembered the moments she nearly died. She said she isn't planning on dying, though. R said she isn't either, to which E responded you are unlikely to die in an office job.
Nico was told his parents would have to come to a meeting because he has not presented many asignments he was supposed to have presented. So Nico tells the headmistress the teacher did it on purpose as she knows his parents are dead and that if Robrta learns this, she will no longer donate the money she was planning on donating to buy new furniture for the school. Also, the headmistress won't get her present. Roberta tells the headmistress not to call Nico a liar and that what he said is true. She also says something about the state education department maybe finding it interesting. I'm not sure what that was about. The headmistress promises to keep her mouth shut and R praises the fact she has about two neurons after all.
Emilia says R is capable of anything and this is what Leo overheard. Aleida said to E that agreeing to sign that contract is like committing suicide and E assures her she knows what R is like.
Jen overhears Orlando saying he worries about his business because of his father's involvement in it.
Fidel gives Orlando all the necessary permissions to open the restaurant/bar. He tells him the alcohol and glasses (I think) will be delivered so they should open tomorrow. Fidel tells Addled that he prefers his child to fear him and obey him to the child loving him after Addledcomments that Fidel's treatment of Orlando is a reason why Orlando doesn't love him.
I wonder why Sara wanted to tell the truth to Danilo. How does she expect him to react? If he forgives her this, he deserves her because it would mean he is willing to forgive her anything even if it means being trampled by her selfishness. Sara also complained to Leo nico was rude to her. I wonder what she thinks he can do about this. Nico was rude and I wonder if it is because he knows she doesn't love him or because Leo spoilt him in some way because he was rude to Joaquina at one point.
I somehow fear Danilo might ruin their plans through his affair with Sara. He asked her why she is with Leo and she said she is trying to give her daughter a family. If only she wasn't such a liar. I can't stand it when someone pretends to make huge sacrifices when in reality they are doing things for their own benefit.Maybe they will kill Sara off? She isn't improving. But then again, suddenly becoming nice isn't unheard of in telenovelas.

Diana, the scene between Tamara and Diana had two issues. First, Tamara admits she has always been a daddy’s girl and that has always prevented her from having a closer relationship with Amanda. She recognizes Amanda as having been an excellent mother and wife. She wishes she could be like her in her own marriage because her husband is feeling less since she has a career and better job than he does. Tamara feels bad about that. Amanda says he should be happy for her. The conversation ends with Amanda saying the only good thing of the whole situation they are in with her father is that she and Tamara have been able to get closer. Tamara agrees.

"MINAS" EPISODE#60:
Diana: Bold Prediction: Dumbass Danillo will ruin the 3 Amigos' revenge plans because of his obsession over StepMommy Dearest (AKA Crazy Whacky Blonde Sara).

Waterlily: Praying for your speedy recovery!

MINAS

Waterlily, once again, you've shone a very important spotlight on several critical issues...Everything you supplied was perfect.

I cannot believe Emilia consented to a life insurance policy being part of their deal!!

"Aleida said to E that agreeing to sign that contract is like committing suicide and E assures her she knows what R is like". Knowing soomeone is a cold blooded killer is no protection in and of itself. Roberta is deadly serious (so to speak) and here, knowledge is not power. So what does Emilia do? Drives straight to Roberta's house because she misses Nico. Not to mention Emilia being in the mine so much of the time. A sitting duck, literally.

I smiled away at "The headmistress promises to keep her mouth shut and R praises the fact she has about two neurons after all". Very clever! No wonder Nico is acting out, still...

I was shocked Sara was about to tell Danilo the truth. Why?? To put salt in his wound? Does she think he will sit quietly by? That said, he is a wanted criminal so his hands are tied even if he wanted to do something. Lastly, what's in it for Sara? She does little that doesn't directly benefit herself.

I hate seeing the hurt in Orlando's eyes after every interaction with Fidel.

Danilo is the loose cannon at the moment.

Waterlily, I hope you are healing. It was so nice of you to add all this. I so appreciate it!

VENCER

Jarifa, thank you for explaining the somewhat shocking and unexpected conversation between Tamara and Amanda.

If Tamara has shown the slightest bit of support or tenderness toward her mother, I have totally missed it. Still, I am very happy that she praised Amanda for being not only a wonderful mother, but wife as well (to someone who is despicable and completely undeserving but a moot point I fear). I imagine Everardo wanted an ally and thus took great pains to forge his relationship with his daughter for his own selfish purposes.

I hope things turn around permanently for mother and daughter. Tamara has a lot to make up for.

One of Vencer's strengths is the complex relationships between the characters. They are multilayered and sometimes, shocking.

Again Jarifa, thank you so very much.

Diana and waterlily, thank you both for the recap of everything that happened .

I guess those two bunnyhops with Sara were amazing because Danilo seems set on having more bunnyhops . Since the writers have made Danilo such a big admirerer of Em , how will they have his lust \ love (whats to love) for Sara play out? He knows that Sara has been awful to Em , doesn't he? Does Sara know that Rob is responsible for the fire which she thought would kill Em ? Do Em, Al, and Dan know that Rob did that ? I am getting confused at this point. Well, maybe Sara will now be pregnant by Dan again ! I still cannot imagine how Dan can end up with Sara when she has been so hateful to Em and tricked Leo into marrying her .

Still suspending my disbelief at nobody recognizing Em since she looks the same except for short hair , lots of make up , and fancy clothes . Really? Neither Seb or Leo has gotten the call of love . Really? I've had people recognize me after we haven't seen each other in years . Susan

MINAS

Thanks Susan!

Danilo seems blind to Sara's many faults and hurtful actions. I'm not sure what he knows or doesn't regarding Sara's treatment of Emilia. He is obsessed, plain and simple as unfathomable as that seems.

Your questions are good ones. I suspect Emilia and company know/suspect Roberta was behind the fire. I think Sara does know Roberta started the fire, but am not sure.

The most surprising thing to me is that neither Sebas or Leo recognize Emilia!! I'm smiling at your noting people recognize you after seeing you after a few years. Perfect sense!

I will put something up for tonight's epi.

Thanks, Jarifa, for an excellent recap and the info on Juan Carlos. Thanks also to Diana and Urban. It looks like he has quite a background in the villain category. I hadn’t seen any of those. He’s always been a nice guy to me. In this one he’s really meek.

I’m also hoping Manuela and Lorena team up. But that smirk on Leandro’s face when she left the table makes me think he plans to win her over. And his encouraging Julieta to lie to her mom is really low. His dad apparently had more influence on the kids than Amanda did.

I’m glad Amanda will stand behind Lorena, but it seemed sad that she thought the mother and daughter in the hospital were Enrique’s. He must have cheated on her their whole marriage. I’m mad that she’s still taking care of him. And he’s bringing up those pills constantly!

Jarifa, thank you for the recap.

I really like the silver fox. I think he played a bad guy in a telenovela I watched years ago about one female twin taking over the life of her twin. He played the beloved man servant in " Herencia"....well, beloved by everyone e felt crazy\dangerous Pedro.
I think Gabe Soto might be enjoying playing a rich villain in fancy suits for a change . Susan

VENCER # 11

Tonight we find out that

Before he disappeared, Damián accused Carmina of trying to pit him and his father against each other. No, she never beat him but her indifference hurt more than hitting him. Pablo took Carmina's side against him.

Nancy pays off the detective that Pablo hired to NOT look for Damián. The detective says he would have to tell Pablo something so he calls Pablo later with "a tip": he found out that Damián was now in Vancouver Canada.

Pablo and Carmina find out that Pablito is most likely suffering from a kidney disease. If the diagnosis is confirmed , he might end up needing a kidney transplant. (I think I know where this is going)

Pablo wants a divorce and Carmina doesn't. He tells her that they do not need to be married for him take care of Pabllito.

Manuela has three jobs. She works at the domestic violence center, and teaches at the university and???

Franco is still telling Paloma that she is not as committed at her job as she should be.

Lorena finds out from the Polanco apartment building door man that there was a woman and a child with Leandro at the apartment the other day. Leandro later tells her that he was there as a favor for his father leaving her with the impression that the woman and child were Everardo's lover and daughter. If the girl's pics were sent to Leandro, it was only because he helped them so much on behalf of his father.

Enriques's daughter Susana tells her father that he better not be romancing Amanda because NOBODY will EVER take her mother's place in the household. It is not happening!

Leandro takes Lorena to bed as as a way to "celebrate" the anniversary of him asking for her hand. (lucky her?)

Leandro manages to arrange that only he and Manuela are at Julieta's dance team finals. Julieta does his bidding telling the other fextended family members that she would love to be there with only her mother and father like a normal kid. Her team wins.

Leandro tells Manuela that he signed his divorce papers. Later, he tells his father that Manuela is a fool and everything is going to fall into place with her. His father tells him she is too much trouble given the situation.

Paloma and Manuela visit Amanda to tell her that the prosector found blood in Dulce's apartment and it is going to be tested for Dulce's DNA. Manuela gets a call from her assistant that Lorena wants to talk to her. As she is listening, Amanda shows Paloma photos of her family. Her ears perk up when Amanda starts talking about her son Leandro who has been married for fifteen years and has two children.

MINAS #61 Part 1

Addled and Sara are in a room being prepped for a political rally for Gigi.

Emilia and Aleida are discussing their plan saying Roberta is capable of anything just as Leo appears in the doorway.

A distraught Jenny tells Flor to leave and confronts Orlando about his relationship with his father. He tries to get a word in edgewise but she finally blurts out “It’s impossible” with a trembling lip. “Jennifer” he calls out after her looking very concerned.

Aleida leaves Leo and Emilia to talk alone. After a bit of discussion, Leo utters the bottom line, the only important thing is the mine.” Claro” Emilia answers looking thoughtful.

Orlando chases Jenny down. She finally admits she can’t get pregnant and folds into his arms. He is kind, loving and supportive; she finally smiles and relaxes as he holds her.

Sebas calls out for Victoria outside the mine. As they talk, Miriam comes up; Sebas is surprised to see her. She and Victoria introduce themselves; Victoria regards her seriously. Miriam holds onto Sebas’ arm proprietarily and while she didn’t exactly say stay away from my man, her intent was obvious. She mentions her son and how marvelous Sebas is (she is right there). Sebas flashes back to Nico running into his arms with Emilia many years ago. Miriam continues to babble on, Sebas clearly uncomfortable. After Victoria leaves, Sebas is clearly exasperated with Miriam’s behavior. She hands him a blue lunch satchel which was obviously her excuse to come looking for him.

Roberta is with Nico at school, turning from angry into sweet as she takes him by the hand.

Gigi is also at the rally looking slightly confused at seeing Sara there. She is asked for a photo op and smiles graciously.

Marijo is eating with the miner who is Gael’s competition. He is sitting nearby having a fit. All of a sudden, a comely young woman comes up to Gael and sits down. Although she is a stranger to him, both are soon beaming at each other as Marijo watches not too covertly.

Gigi’s pictures are plastered on the wall and the event begins. Addled is the first speaker spouting his oft repeated line that family is the most important thing. Then, out of nowhere, he calls Sara up from the audience. Gigi looks flummoxed. Sara gives a speech as Roberta, Fidel and Nico come in, looking equally surprised to see Sara with the microphone. I guess this is THE social event of the day as Emilia also arrives. Addled finally gets around to introducing Gigi. Gigi gives an impassioned speech about her foundation. When she finishes, Emilia stands and introduces herself and her association with La Gloria. She announces she is making a donation to the cause (was it a million dollars?) Roberta sneers under her breath, Gigi is delighted.

Marijo can’t contain herself and goes over, insinuating herself into Gael’s conversation.

Gigi tells Emilia how much she appreciates her gesture; Roberta is hot on her heels. Nico was not at all friendly and said something to Emilia I didn’t understand; she looked a bit upset. Fidel and Addled both came up and shook Victoria’s hand. Addled makes inappropriate comments and even Fidel’s using his hand to motion to Addled to shut up doesn’t work. My stomach roils.

Victoria and Tigre have a conversation, does she tell him of her new arrangement with Roberta? He talks about Emilia and Nico with great sadness. I think he says miracles don’t exist. Emilia seems to encourage him and puts her hand on his shoulder as she leaves.

Diana

MINAS #61 Part 2 of 2

Roberta, surprised by Sara’s seeming political ambition, warns her not to do anything to thwart her plans. Sara hits back saying there is a vast difference between getting involved and betrayal.

Leo and Sebas are antler bashing. Sebas again accuses Leo of being the reason Emilia is no longer with therm. Sebas explodes with anger saying he betrayed Emilia with Sara and accuses him of being manipulated by Roberta. Emilia appears and tries to intervene. “Sebas” Emilia call, going after him.

At home, a huge, beautiful bouquet of flowers is delivered to Sara. Marijo naturally assumes they are from Leo and gently teases Sara, saying what a romantic gesture it is. Sara takes the card away from Marijo’s prying eyes, leaving the flowers on the table without a vase or water!

In her room, Sara calls Danilo and asks him “are you crazy”? “Yes, for you” is the answer, just as we expected. “Sending me flowers at home” she goes on. “I love you” he responds and makes it clear he won’t be deterred. Sara sort of smiles and shakes her head.

Leo is still reeling from his confrontation with Sebas. He harkens back to Emilia being in jail and caressing her face through the bars; then grim-faced he reflects on Sebas’ accusations.

Sebas comes across Emilia in the mine. He tells her she can count on him. The conversation takes on a personal tone, he asks her if she has children.

Gael is looking at pictures of Marijo on his phone. Zaira catches him and they have a conversation regarding life, love and Marijo.

The last scene of the evening has us returning to the mine. Emilia is clearly uncomfortable as she struggles to answer Sebas’ question. Yes, I have a son she admits. Does he have a father Sebas asks? I believe she says no and gently tells him she doesn’t want to discuss personal issues.

After she leaves, Sebas stares intently. Things are transpiring that bear striking similarities to the past. Are they merely coincidences or is there something else at play? Sebas seems to argue with himself as he grapples with trying to make sense of what he has seen and heard. For the moment, he seems to be refusing to see what is before him, deeming it not possible.

VENCER

Jarifa, thank you for summing up tonight’s episode so perfectly.

“Leandro takes Lorena to bed as a way to "celebrate" the anniversary of him asking for her hand. (lucky her?)” had me nodding grimly in agreement. Leandro is a master manipulator who lies at every turn. Ensuring only he and Manuela were at the dance reception?? Bald-facedly lying that he signed the divorce papers?? Constantly lying to Lorena? Just no…

Pablito is such a sweet child and doesn’t deserve illness or a loathsome mother.

The police should have searched Dulce’s apartment when she was first reported missing. Every day that passes means the further away she is from being recovered.

I was surprised the detective took the bribe. I had him pegged as an honest person. Silly me.

Everardo got upset with Amanda when she took Enrique’s call. He expects her to be at his beck and call 24/7. What nerve!! At least Tamara is a bit more supportive evidenced by Everardo’s frown when she hugged her mother.

Enrique is a widower and a grown man, deserving of having a life and being happy. I was so disappointed Susana saw his interest in “another woman” as a threat. I certainly hope he doesn’t let her immature childish attitude hold him back.

Diana

Juan Carlos Baretto played a really terrible, cringe worthy villain in:

'Para volver a amar', with Rebecca Jones, Rebecca Jones, René Strickler, Alejandra Barros, Nailea Norvind, and Mark Tacher, among others. He played his role so realistically that I couldn't watch any of his novelas for quite some time.

Minas
This episode was as frustrating as the one where they sentenced E.
I don't know who was worse:Sara with her 'oh a knight wants to fight for me' and 'competition and betrayal isn't the same attitude towards her mother, Miriam with her stupid jealousy or Marijo with her 'he can't leave' order.
Marijo wanted to make Gael jealous but apparently she can only dish it out and can't take it. This kind of plot gives women a bad name. She told she was Gael's boss and he couldn't accompany the girl who came there and claimed to be lost.Marijo definitely has something that almost feels like arrogance coming from her higher class. She was convinced Gael would jump for joy when she got back. It's like she thought they could come back to being novios after four years of not seeing each other. She really irritates me.
Miriam introduced herself as Sebas' wife and said Andres is his son. Even when Sebas made it clear he didn't like the scene she caused, she seemed angry. What did she think would happen? Or did she think Victoria was ugly and she had nothing to worry about?
Roberta told Sara she will betray her mother by going into politics. Sara said competition and betrayal are different things and that R doesn't get it. I wonder what she'd think if someone did this to her.
Leonardo said the stupidest phrase of the evning. He said Roberta sent E to manicomio just to make sure she didn't go to prison. He also said E 'went crazy, which is sad but true'. Can I please strangle him? I can't believe he is the galan. The writers must think we have no standards for galanes.
Emilia wants tigre to keep working with them. Tigre says he is leaving once they open the tunnel. She tells him she is the partner at the mine. He tells her life has taught him to be mistrustful because he has met people good at convincing but bad at keeping their promises. What if she turns outas bad as la patrona? She tells him that if he wants justice, he needs to work with them. He says' words, only words'. She replies,' if you want proof/facts, come to the mine tomorrow.' He isn't entirely convinced.
Sebas talked about Emilia's scar at the end.
Nico thought R would be proud of him because 'he who hits first hits twice'. Roberta, however, told him you can'tbe the best if you are a lazy person with no aims. She told him he has to do all his homework. Emilia asked Nico's opinion about helping poor kids. He said that their parents should just work more. E said some do and still don't have enough money. Nico responds his mum worked and looked after him. It's quite something to listen to a child talking like this. I mean, it's both mean and naive.Did he ever notice how hard it was for her?
It was funny to see how angry R got that men praised E. She just had to make it clear that 'she is the most important'. I do think women in this town are being poisoned with something because they all talk the same crazy stuff. Are men poisoning them?
I can't watch Danilo with Sara. What is there to love about her? She would pick herself over anyone else, including her own mother, her child and Leo. I bet she doesn't even love Danilo and only likes the fact he is interested in her and acting like a romantic scoundrel from a novel. Now we only need a scene where he charges in on the back of a white horse and kidnaps her.

"MINAS" EPISODE#61:

Waterlily: This episode was definitely frustrating as usual. Danillo is going to destroy the 3 Amigos' revenge plans just trust me: mark my words!

His obsession over Crazy Whacky Blonde Sara is going to be their downfall.

Let's not forget about the possibility of somebody opening their big mouth by revealing Victoria/Emilia to the world.

Leonardo & Sebas getting into heated dispute. What could possibly go wrong ?

Diana: Good job with the recap of last night's episode.

MINAS

Waterlily, thank you as always for your stellar details!! I hope you are feeling a bit better?

In her little spat with Victoria “Sara said competition and betrayal are different things.” I did get the betrayal but didn’t get the “competition” so wrote “getting involved”.

Thank you for explaining Tigre and Emilia’s conversation. I wonder what proof she intends to provide.

“Miriam introduced herself as Sebas' wife and said Andres is his son. Even when Sebas made it clear he didn't like the scene she caused, she seemed angry. What did she think would happen?” was phrased perfectly.

Danilo is rather pathetic with Sara. Still, the actor is so appealing I don’t mind in the least. 😊

Steve, thank you for your kind words, I appreciate them!

MINAS RECAPPING

Trying to understand dialog that is above my head has been challenging and exhausting.

Three recaps a week is the max I can do.

Tonight, I will put up a few highlights to start the discussion.

Have a wonderful day all.

Vencer

Thanks, Jarifa, a good morning read. No surprise that Damian left because of Carmina. But I was surprised she decided to bribe the detective. And disappointed that he took it. I’m sorry about little Pablito, but I think I’m thinking the same as you. Wouldn’t it be great to see Carmina desperate to find her stepson! And isn’t he her sister’s son. Wouldn’t you have love for your nephew. I think Pablo must have married in haste after his wife died.

I didn’t like to see Julieta lie to her relatives and keep them away when they were excited to go. I’ll be as happy to see her disappointment as I will to see Leandro’s. I missed that he told his dad that Manuela was a fool and he was going to win her over. That made her seeing his picture on Amanda’s phone even better. I really hope they get together(wife and Manuela)and plan something great for him!

I couldn’t believe Enrique’s daughter. These characters don’t want to see their parents happy. I hope Enrique and Amanda can enjoy a relationship without any guilt.

Minas

Diana and Waterlily, thank you both so much for the recaps . I will try to find some photos , although it is frustrating enough to just read your accounts of what happened without seeing what transpired on screen .

I wonder how long it will be before Rodrigo Brand ( Danilo) gets a galan role . We saw both Oswaldo and Daniel Elbittar gradually work their way up to become galans . The actor playing Sebastian has been doing a spectacular job in this role, and I think he has earned a galan role, too. Some of these actors do so much with the words and actions they are given . Sometimes it seems like they might feel as frustrated as we are watching .Do they ever say , " This is stupid, and I am not going to say it !"?

I dont see how the writers are going to redeem Sara enough to deserve a HEA with strangely smitten Dan. Will she suddenly stop being a cranky, bitter itch and start loving the daughter she has been ignoring ? Really?

I guess we are supposed to feel sorry for constantly morose and whimpering Jen . ugh. Orlando deserves some smiles and fun after dealing with his dreadful dad and sad sack Jen.

I guess Gigi is supposed to become the powerful women's advocate after producing two spoiled daughters and putting up with a cheating , corrupt husband . Yeah. No.

Miriam knows that she has stumbled on a golden hearted guy and is determined to keep him since she gave up on Addled ever marrying her . I find her exhausting . Seb doesn't reserve to be saddled with her , but he loves her son.

I have a funny feeling that I am not going to be happy with how the writers bring this show to a conclusion . susan

Minas/ot
Diana, I quite like this way of contributing to recaping, especially as your recaps are very good guidelines for me. But last night I almost regreted being able to understand what they were saying because I wanted to slap most of the characters.
Orland seems to think he can somehow get his father off his back. He told Jen he ´couldn´t refuse´when his father wanted to turn his restaurant into a bar. We really need a win for the good side.
I haven´t improved sufficiently yet. I never thought burns take so long to heal. Now even making a cup of tea is challenging because it involves way too much standing. Who would have thought! The doctor was like ´woonds are in a very inconvenient place´. I remember thinking´tell me please where would be convenient so I will know where tu hurt myself next time.´´ They seem to be hhealling, though. If only it would stop hurting as well. Thanks for asking!

MINAS

Susan, I completely agree with your comments.

"I dont see how the writers are going to redeem Sara enough to deserve a HEA with strangely smitten Dan. Will she suddenly stop being a cranky, bitter itch and start loving the daughter she has been ignoring ? Really?" had me shaking my head in agreement. WTH??

All of the men you mentioned DEFINITELY deserve galan roles. While dreamy good looks are always a plus, I feel they are secondary to the charm and personality of the character. And the actor. Carlos Gatica (Sebas) is very appealing. He has an intensity and charisma that draws me to him. And Rodrigo Brand (Danilo) is hawt and earnestly believable.

Jenny is her own worst enemy but she bothers me less than many others here. Orlando wanted her, pursued her and got her. But I fear Flor is going to really tempt him. I hope Jenny can change...

It seems likely Sebas and Miriam are going to end up together. I am hoping for some character redemption as the romances here leave so much to be desired.

Diana

MINAS

Waterlily, I am so sorry you are in pain! Yes, even the "simple" task of making tea is proving difficult. Healing can only occur so fast so I will keep you in my prayers.

That said, "The doctor was like ´woonds are in a very inconvenient place´. I remember thinking´tell me please where would be convenient so I will know where tu hurt myself next time´´ had me smiling that you have managed to keep your marvelous sense of humor!

I am so appreciative that you come in and explain what exactly occurred with such clarity. I hadn't realized Fidel wanted to turn the restaurant into a bar. Poor Orlando. If he can figure out a way to get Fidel off his back, I'll be amazed!

Hoping you have as pain free a day as possible.

Diana

Minas

Warerlily, I am so sorry that you are in pain .I dont know much about burns except that you shouldn't put butter on them which isolated an old wives tale. Did your Dr give you anything for the pain? I hope you feel done relief soon .

So Fidel wants the restaurant to become a bar. I guess that's because Flor told him bars are where to sell drugs???? Fidel has Orlando under his corrupt thumb , and I think Orlando will stay there until his awful dad is in prison or dead and O is reunited with his sweet mother .

Leo is still the do-nothing galan , so I don't think that he would be my choice at this point . Seb has been constantly good and kind to everyone in his orbit. That is the type of guy I am used to . Danilo is romantic and charismatic . Susan

Minas

Thanks, Diana, great recap. I’m on episode 60, so one behind. But I agree with everyone’s comments about Victoria not being recognized. Although when I came down the aisle at my son’s wedding a friend’s husband said, that must be Liz’s sister, she looks just like her”! So clothes and makeup can make one look different. He usually saw me when I was walking the dog. But only her brother knew it was her. Her dad, after thinking it was her, easily accepted it wasn’t.

I had thought Danilo liked Emillia. Maybe it is just lust with Sara. If she tells him that Romina is his daughter I would think he’d be pretty upset. And her marriage would be over.

I’m starting to not like Flor. She’s not thinking or Orlando, just doing his father’s biddings. I feel sorry for Orlando. I wish he’d find out about his mother. I even feel sorry for Jenny. She needs to see the doctor as maybe any damage is fixable.

Nico has really changed. I can’t believe Roberta has influenced him so much. I’ve always heard the first five years are the most important so he shouldn’t lose his character. But she’s turning him into an awful kid in weeks.

Emillia knows how Roberta is and still made the deal with the life insurance. I don’t think being a partner in the mine was part of the plan. I can’t imagine what the plan is, if they even have one.

Liz

Minas/ot
Susan, it appears the bar is because it's more appropriate for drug selling. At least I think that is what Flor meant when she said it was more a bar thing because I couldn't think of anything else. Ido wonder who his clients are. Maybe the higher-ups Fidel was talking about at one point will get him in the end. I somehow hoped Orlando mightwake-up when he finds out his mum is alive but that seems a bit too optimistic.
Leo is another one who needs waking-up. But he has been asleep for so long that an earthquake wouldn't wake him. I wonder if he will be even harder to watch once he learns Sara deceived him.
The doctor only told me to takeordinary painkillers, but as the pain isn't as strong as it was immediately after I got hurt, I avoid it. Thanks for your concern.

Minas

I can't believe how much I missed! These were some tough days for me but I'm okay now.

Waterlily, I'm very sorry to hear that you're in pain. I hope you get better ASAP. Thanks SO much for contributing to recaps despite the injuries!

And a huge thank you to Diana! I'm so grateful for the recaps you provide us with. I couldn't watch but I finally caught up.

What I find most ridiculous in this show is Emilia's "transformation". Like, come on now! Even I, as horrible as I am in remembering faces would recognise her! Just contact lenses and that HIDEOUS wig? I think Susan has also noted this.

I'm disappointed with almost all plot lines, but the three most problematic ones are the Emilia one, the Jenny-Orlando one and the Sara-Danilo.

I'm seriously frustrated with Emilia's return. Not only has NO ONE recognised her except from one person, I think it's the wrong person too. Don't get me wrong, Gael is a good option, but I would have liked much more Zaira to be the first to identify Emilia. They didn't get along at the start but their relationship got better with time, so I think Zaira IDing Victoria as Emilia would have been a nice touch. And freaking SEBAS! How in the WORLD hasn't he recognised her? I just hope he does fast because I'll get even more mad if he doesn't. Leo is such a lost cause that I'm not even going to comment further on him.

I honestly have no clue where they're going with Jenny-Orlando. This was my favourite coupling choice at first, but now I honestly have no idea what will happen next.

Sara is getting even MORE annoying, if that's possible. If the writers find a good way to redeem her I'll be seriously impressed. But when the writers make this kind of galán, my hopes are slim. Why is Danilo oh so in love with her? I mean, what's there to love?

Waterlily's quote could sum up the whole episode: "I don't know who was worse:Sara with her 'oh a knight wants to fight for me' and 'competition and betrayal isn't the same attitude towards her mother, Miriam with her stupid jealousy or Marijo with her 'he can't leave' order." Perfect!

I can do Friday's recap but I can't do tonight's.

MINAS

Liz, thank you so much! Glad you have just about caught up! I loved your wedding story, thanks for sharing.

I also thought Danilo liked Emilia, but I guess Sara's allure has a grip on him and he just can't let go! I don't think she has any intention of leaving Leo (and his money) so am still reeling that she tried to tell Danilo Romina is his...I think it was impulsive and I would be surprised if she tries to tell him again, especially for the reasons you noted. I suspect there might be a medical crisis that brings out the truth but we'll see.

Yes, Flor should leave Orlando alone, he has enough problems.

Roberta has indeed turned Nico from sweet into sour in no time, hasn't she??

They finally gave Livia Brito a shorter wig. Was the longer one too similiar to Roberta's?? Regardless, it's ridiculous no one else has realized who she is, especially Sebas and her father...

Diana

MINAS

Weirdo, thank you very much!

I hope things are settling down a bit for you...

I can only say I agree wholeheartedly with and share your disappointment that neither Leo or Sebas has recognized Emilia. Had they changed her appearance more drastically, it might be believable. But shorter hair and lighter eyes do not a disguise make.

I am still rooting for Orlando and Jenny even though her incessant whining is annoying...

The plots are convoluted; still, I am enjoying this and am looking forward to seeing how everything plays out.

Glad you can do Friday's recap!

"Leo is another one who needs waking-up. But he has been asleep for so long that an earthquake wouldn't wake him". Hysterical, but sadly true!

Susan, your musing that Orlando won't be free of Fidel until Fidel is in jail or dead was exactly what I've been thinking! I'd be happy with either....Ack.

MINAS

My first comment above was directed to Waterlily! :)

Diana, well, it does seem that a number of our characters are not quite right to put it bluntly. Susana is on her own line of looney with wanting to honor her mother's memory ad infinitum and deciding FOR her father what he needs or doesn't need. So many tedious characters in this one.

Liz, "I think Pablo must have married in haste after his wife died." Too bad he didn't find out what kind person Carmina was when his wife was alive. And now poor Pablo will be on a wild goose chase due to the misinformation fed to him by the private detective. He can't catch a break!

JUAN CARLOS BARRETO

Victoria, he is just another example of how expert these actors are in doing both drama and comedy.

Gracias, Jarifa.

Since Amanda can't stand up to Everardo yet, I've got my fingers crossed that she stands up for Manuela when she finds out about her son's lies and Julieta.

Eeek, shaking my head at Pablo siding with Carmina against Damian back in the day. The poor man has certainly earned his guilt.

Niece, " The poor man has certainly earned his guilt." You said it! It was unbelievable how easily he sided with Carmina without missing a beat.

"MINAS" EPISODE#61:

Diana: I strongly agree with you that Orlando will NEVER be free of Fidel until he's dead, most likely sometime in later in Spring or Summer 2024.

Isn't Orlando a law enforcement officer of the San Lorenzo Police Department ?

"MINAS" EPISODE#61:

Waterlily: Not shocked Crazy Roberta turned Nico into an annoying spoiled brat. I wouldn't be shocked if we've got a timejump of 24+ years LOL.

Weirdo: Looking forward to seeing tonight's episode. I know that the band of villains will keep upping the ante even further!
