A bit late to the party. Thanks so much, carmella, for another fine recap. Maybe I'll copy and paste this comment when the page turns late Thursday. [JUST DID SO.]

We saw Santiago's warmth toward Andres/Juanito at dinner. Just natural and easy, not forced like Narcissist Braulio.

Yes, Martha is changing and less needy and weird. Her hairstyle is even better. Although, SO many of the cast appear to wear wigs. Martha, Santiago, Amalia. At the beginning I thought Amalia's hair might be her own, but now it's in a 60's flip that doesn't move when her head does.

Loved "severe obtuseness" re Chalo. For me personally I loved the beatdown. He's put his hands on Santi more than once, besides all the insults. I think Nuria was in the wrong chastising him. I guess that's the automatic female protagonist's aversion to any kind of violence. But Chalo richly deserved it.

Yep, Violeta is intolerable. Her papi caught on fast that she was only wondering how Santi knew him as part of her hopeless campaign to get Santi to even look at her twice. I can't think of how she will use the prison card, except maybe with Nuria. Rosendo knows. And Chema didn't say that Santi was a Zepeda.

Thanks novelera. I also noticed the wigs. Especially between Martha and Amelia. I’m sure it’s a lot easier to wear one than not. However, Martha’s looks like a wig. Can’t they find one more natural looking? But I also think that the wig ages her and that’s what they wanted for her character.

My recap today will be more on the brief side. Duty calls and fortunately or unfortunately I work 12 1/2 hr days…..so please, everyone, feel free to add both your take on things, and distinct “flavor.”

Nuria and Santi continue their conversation about the man who deceived her. Santi wants to know who he is. Nuria says it doesn’t matter, and has nothing to do with them or their relationship. She tells him how stupid she felt when she learned the truth and asks him not to do that to her. He promises that he won’t

Chalo and Eugenia talking with Rosalia tell her of the footage of Mario with the plastic bags. Chalo fears his sister is dead, but doesn’t want to tell his mom. Rosalia says that no matter what, Angustias deserves to know the truth

Braulio is with Martha asking her who she went to see earlier, but that is not his true intention of questioning her. He is really jealous that Martha and Santi’s relationship is closer, and that Santi is always around now. He is her blood son after all

Rosalia and Eugenia have a talk and Rosalia tells Eugenia to stop waiting for Chalo. He just isn’t into her

Santi and Nuria return to the apartment. Santi is still pushing the issue of who the man is that lied to Nuria. His jealousy is showing, and Nuria calls him on it. Again, she tells him it doesn’t matter and for him to give her a kiss and let it go….he does…for now…. Rosalia shows up, gives Santi condolences on the loss of his father and Santi asks her about renting a room.

Braulio dreams of his last confrontation with Roberto and wakes up in a cold sweat

Nuria and Eugenia are talking about Amelia. Nuria says that she had no idea that Amelia would be a modern day “Mother Theresa.”
Rosalia joins the conversation and Nuria shares that the man who deceived her was Braulio Zepeda..Rosalia also later shares that she rented a room to Santi as Chalo makes an entrance into the room

Chenta (hot pants girl) is in the courtyard with Carmen urging her to stop hiding her body under those bulky clothes. She also tells Carmen that she has noticed how her eyes light up when she’s with Eugenia. Chenta then sashays off

Amelia is talking to the worker at the orphanage about Nuria. Diego arrives and discusses with Amelia that Andres/Juan hasn’t recovered all his memory and that he doesn’t believe that Andres/Juan’s parents abandoned him. Amelia is not receptive at all and is being very defensive. The possibility of what Diego is saying might be true seems to be freaking her out some. Ultimately Diego agrees to stay out of her family business

Chelo goes to Jacinto and he tells her what he’s found out and that Andres is alive….Chelo totally freaks and tells him everything that Fausto has done

Violetta can’t wait to tell Nuria about Santi being in prison, and does so with gusto. Nuria doesn’t believe her at first

Jacinto tells Chelo that she must tell Nuria. Chelo is close to a meltdown as Fausto calls her and she freaks out some more. Jacinto helps her to calm down and take the call…

Amelia is with Braulio at the office for a shareholders meeting and mentions Nuria by name. She wants to give the employees a bonus. Braulio’s radar is up now

Nuria confronts Santi about not telling her that he was in prison. He says it was hard for him, but she gives it right back to him with guns blazing. She says that she’s shared everything with him, the married man, her son’s death, wanting to kill herself and everything that she’s gone through, so it being “hard” for him is not a good enough reason

At the shareholders meeting, Braulio wants to use substandard fabric from China in order to increase their profits. Martha disagrees at first because their brand has always been equated with quality, but eventually her, Lianna and Amelia agree with him.

Jacinto urges Chelo to leave Juarez City while he investigates and gets the goods on Fausto…… first he says that she should go live with Nuria, but Chelo just can’t

Santi confronts Violetta who shouts that she loves him and kisses him as Nuria walks in. Santi puts Violetta in her place, and says that he loves Nuria. Violetta goes off in a huff, but Nuria still doesn’t want to talk to Santi when he asks, and says she’s taken the afternoon off

Tigre goes to the store at Braulio’s urging…

Chalo arrives at the apt building with one of Esme’s neighbors and they tell Angustias the truth. An overwrought Angustias urges the neighbor to go to the police and he agrees…..

Fausto is at the police station and the Captain tells him that Andres’ file was stolen. Psycho freaks out and tells the Captain that if he goes down, so will the captain!

Tigre asks Rosendo if a Nuria is there. Rosendo tells him that she’s gone for the day. Tigre then shows him a pic of Nuria on his phone and asks Rosendo if that’s her……

Violetta is just like the Violetta from " Eternnamente Amandonas, " who would not take no for an answer from the galan, who must let her keep trying and lying until she was crying .

Thanks again, Carmella. Wow...12.5 work days! And you're doing recaps. I definitely admire you.

That was a pretty good cliffhanger as to whether the fairly cowardly Rosendo admits that Nuria is the one Tigre is looking for. Did Tigre say he was searching for her for Braulio? Can't remember. If he thinks it's Tigre, he may protect her. I have a feeling it's a bit too soon for Braulio to find and start harassing Nuria. You can bet the farm he's going to go INSANE when he finds out she's involved with Santiago.

I was glad the whole Violeta thing came out in the open. She may still resent Nuria but she surely was put in her place and, hopefully, will quit pushing herself forward when Santi walks into the store.

Thank you Susan and novelera for your comments. Both of you are wondering if Rosendo will indeed give up Nuria to Tigre, but whether he does or not, Braulio will make sure to go and check it out for himself. When Amelia said that she would go back to the store, Braulio quickly dissuaded her. He will make sure, I’m certain, because his narcissism is much bigger than he is. He will think that she went there for him cause he’s so wonderful and worth forgiving. I agree that he will also blow a gasket when he finds out that she’s with Santi. His jealousy where Santi is concerned, knows no bounds, and there’s no telling how he will react, or what he will do when the time comes…..

Secrets #115 part 1

What kind of monster would bury a person in their own backyard?

Ceylin and Eren arrive at Pars’ house, where they find Derya sobbing and holding on to Pars’ hand. What do I do now, she cries. Eren and Ceylin try to lift her. I’m not leaving him, she shouts and tries to fight them off. Leave me alone! I’m not leaving!

Calm down, Ceylin says, think of your baby. They finally get her up. Ceylin takes her to the house, Eren stays with Pars. Anil, Goksu and the forensics team arrive. This is hard for everyone. Eren leaves to let them get to work. He doesn’t get very far and starts punching a wall.

Ilgaz is brought to a room, where he writes out his list of “loved ones”. [which include Tolga and Merve.] He comes back to the meeting and Turgut drops a bomb on him--I’ll be taking over the case. Ilgaz starts to object, but Turgut shuts him down. I’m sure you understand it’s the right thing to do.

Ilgaz explains his objection, I’m familiar with the case. I know everything about it. It wouldn’t be right for you to take over. One of the participants reminds him he is the target of the threats. We shouldn’t put you in danger. We have suffered a great loss, don’t make us suffer another. It will be difficult for you to make the right decisions. The right thing to do is to step back. Go home and rest. If you want to keep working, take another case.

The Governor gives Ilgaz her condolences and Ilgaz thanks her and leaves. Turgut follows Ilgaz outside to smooth things over. I won’t sit idle, Ilgaz tells him. Turgut replies, if you follow a lead in secret, without our knowledge… no one will say anything. But think of your loved ones. You have every right to go after the culprits but do so quietly. He warns, if you’re caught, you’re on your own. Is it a deal?

Ilgaz calls Ceylin. Where are you? We’re at Pars’ house. His body is being taken to the morgue. We are waiting for Derya to get changed. Ilgaz asks her if it is true that Pars was buried in the yard. Her voice trembles, yes, they buried him there as if it was a game. That SOB told Derya. She was crying and trying to dig him up when we arrived. She’s very upset… none of us are okay, Ceylin cries. Ilgaz tells her to go to the morgue. He’ll meet her there.

All the “loved ones” arrive at the Kaya house. None of them have any idea what’s happening. Osman asks an officer outside. He says, DA Ilgaz gave us strict instructions. Go inside. He will tell you when he arrives. Tugce encourages Parla to speak to her dad on that other matter.

Metin and Merdan greet their guests. They make it seem like it’s a get together for Defne’s benefit. Defne is happy and the girls head off to Defne’s room. Gul asks Metin for the 411. He doesn’t know anything either.

Tugce thinks weirdo Eyup told Cinar what happened and Cinar isn’t bringing it up. She scolds Parla for not taking a pic of Eyup’s ID. Tugce does not trust Eyup at all.

Ilgaz finds Ceylin crying outside the morgue. Why is this happening, Ilgaz? Why do the good people die? They go before their time. Inci, my dad, Neva, Ridvan, and now Pars. Why do our loved ones die? How much longer will we have to experience this pain? I don’t know, Ilgaz replies, but it will end. He pulls her into his arms.

Ceylin admits she’s scared. For the first time in my life, I’m really scared. I won’t let anyone get hurt, Ilgaz replies, this will be our last painful experience. The last tears you shed. We need to stay strong. As always, we need to fight to end this.

 

secrets #115 part 2

Ilgaz asks, did Anil say anything about the cause of death? Not yet. Ilgaz wants to get Derya and go home. Ilgaz enters the morgue and finds Eren crouched against a wall. Eren gives Ilgaz a hug and condolences. Sadness.

Turgut interrogates Igor. Rafet is present. I didn’t threaten anyone, Igor claims. Who said that? You told DA Ilgaz in this very room, Turgut replies, that you would kill all his loved ones, and he’d bury them one by one. From here, Igor asks, with these [handcuffs]? Rafet interjects, you think AG Turgut is lying? You have accomplices on the outside. Igor continues to deny and asks, do you have a record of it? Turgut says it wasn’t during an official interrogation. He bangs the table—but we can trust DA Ilgaz’s word.

Igor asks, isn’t the DA human? He’s not above lying. You told DA Derya where to find Pars, Turgut accuses. If you didn’t kill him or give the order, how did you know where he was? It was a guess, and I was right, Igor answers. Rafet loses his patience. What’s going on in your head? What’s the matter with you?

Turgut stays calm. It’s hard to make such an accurate guess. Let’s not tire each other out. How are you staying in touch with your hitman? Igor reminds Turgut that he’s in custody and says he knows nothing about the murder.

Rafet grabs Igor by the coat. Turgut tells him not to get upset. He goes over Igor’s charges: kidnapping, assault, murder. You set a bomb and you made threats. You have a gang, and you smuggle goods. You’ll go before a judge and go to prison. I’ll ask for a minimum of 100 years. I’ll also mention you were caught trying to escape. Turgut and Rafet leave.

Rafet asks Turgut for orders. Prolong his detention, Turgut replies, don’t let him eat or sleep. Don’t let him communicate with anyone. Don’t let him contact anyone. Continue to question him. It will be difficult to get him to talk but keep trying. Find out if he has any other living relatives or loved ones, in Turkey or abroad. Turgut adds, I suggest you keep yourself in check in the interrogation room and act accordingly. Rafet feels disrespected once again.

Umut has info on the person who slipped the envelope under Pars’ door. The logo on his jacket belongs to a restaurant. A team is on its way. Turgut says he’ll go, too, and he asks Rafet to come along. Rafet mumbles that Turgut should go to the courthouse instead.

Defne stays outside, while Ilgaz speaks with the others inside. I gathered you here because someone has threatened to hurt our family. We recently dismantled a criminal organization. This is what we’ll do. We won’t panic. Our officers, secretaries of safety and security, and the governor are working together to eliminate the threat. We will be staying together for a while.

Tugce asks, are we going to live together like in a commune? Yes, Ilgaz replies, don’t go out. If you need anything, officers are outside. They will get what you need. This is the safest place for you. My father is here. If you get suspicious, if you receive a message or call, if you notice a stranger at the house, tell me or my father. He thanks everyone for keeping this from Defne. This shouldn’t last long, Ilgaz says, maybe a day or two.

Ceylin takes care of Derya in Cinar’s room. She helps her get into bed. Ilgaz knocks on the door. How is she? She’s not well, Ceylin replies, there’s nothing we can do. She won’t stop crying. Eren and I are leaving, Ilgaz says, just because I was taken off the case doesn't mean I won’t stop searching for those bastards. Ceylin says she’s going too, and don’t bother objecting.

 

secrets #115 part 3

Cinar and Tugce come out to see Ilgaz, Eren and Ceylin before they leave the yard. Cinar gives his condolences. He also wants to apologize to Ilgaz for getting mad at him. Catch those guys, he tells his brother, no matter who they are. End those bastards. Don’t worry, Ilgaz replies, they will pay for everything.

Cinar asks for just one thing—don’t do anything that will take you from us. Be careful. All of you. Tugce hugs Eren and asks him to be careful, too.

Turgut and Rafet are at Zulkuf’s döner shop. Turgut studies the photos on the wall. A worker says, I don’t question the boss, I do what he asks. He told me to go to AG Pars’ office and deliver the letter. I didn’t check the contents. That’s all I know. Lol, Rafet taking something to eat and then spitting it out.

Zulkuf’s son explains, that a man that they called “Old Bird” would come occasionally. AG Pars had a problem and he asked my father for help. Rafet asks, what was his problem? Why did he ask your father? Turgut continues to study the photos on the wall.

Rafet wants to know how Zulkuf died. The son says his father, spiced the meat for the day, closed the shop and got on his bike. He rode to the bakery at the end of the street and was run over. The driver took off. Did anyone get the plates, Rafet asks, did anyone see it? The son says it was one of those ghost cars. The police checked and couldn’t find anything.

Rafet asks if Zulkuf had enemies. Who doesn’t, the son answers, I made a list and gave it to the police. I haven’t heard back. Rafet wants to see the place where Zulkuf was hit. Meanwhile, Turgut takes some snaps of the photos on the wall.

Yekta has had another successful day in court. He and his client gloat over their victory. The client praises Yekta’s skills and Yekta eats it up. The client leaves.

Omer shows up and Yekta is ticked at him for leaving the courtroom. You were acting strange, he says. It was worth it, Omer replies. I have great news, you’ll understand when I tell you. Yekta mocks, are you a reporter now? Working on the evening news? Are you chasing headlines? Get to the point.

Omer looks around and drops the bomb—AG Pars was found dead this morning. Yekta is stunned. Pars is dead? That’s not all, Omer replies, the head of the Balkan gang who killed Pars, threatened DA Ilgaz. He said he’d kill all his loved ones, one by one. His loved ones? Yekta adds, that’s a long list. Four pages worth. Omer smirks.

Yekta commands, wipe that smirk off your face! This is no laughing matter. Am I laughing? We need to offer condolences and find out if there’s anything we can do [he left out: to save our own asses and play it into an advantage.]

Ilcey and Eren return to the station. Ceylin sadly says she was going to ask if Pars was joining them. Ilgaz acknowledges it’s hard to accept. Eren gets a call that IT has traced Pars’ route.

Our group watches the footage. There’s the woman and child. The woman deliberately throws herself into Pars’ car. That’s how Pars fell into the trap. He takes them into his car, and they arrive at the hospital parking lot. The IT guy says the woman and child leave 30 minutes later, but Pars or his car never leaves. Ilgaz tells IT to watch the recording again and note every vehicle that left the hospital. He wants a copy.

Our group runs into Turgut on his way out. Turgut is surprised to see Ilgaz. Ilgaz tells him, we’re working on another case. Turgut comments, all three of you? Even your wife? Ceylin pipes up, I’m just keeping them company. Good, Turgut answers, that’s what it means to share your life. Turgut asks to speak with Ilgaz, privately, in Rafet’s office.

Turgut says, Zulkuf sent Kesik’s address to Pars’ office. A hit and run was used to cover up his murder. Do you know him, Turgut asks, have you heard of him? He’s probably heard of you. Turgut shows Ilgaz a pic of Zulkuf and Merdan and says, he was friends with your grandfather.

Ilgaz is surprised. How do you know my grandfather? I did a thorough background check on your family, Turgut replies, I look into my colleagues’ families. [that seems kind of creepy.] Ask your grandfather if he put Zulkuf and Pars in touch.

Yekta and Omer arrive at the Kaya house. Ayten is in the yard with Gorkem and has to run and hide. Yekta makes fun of the house’s architecture and how everyone lives in such close quarters. Merdan answers the door to an unpleasant surprise. Yekta offers his condolences.

How did you find my address, Merdan replies, what are you up to? Yekta says he will overlook the unjustified attack, and he sympathizes. My son and I are here to offer our condolences and to meet with DA Ilgaz. Merdan responds with a no way and he starts to close the door on Yekta.

Yekta blocks him. Merdan, this is important. This is a complex situation. This is urgent! We have something to tell about AG Pars. Yekta pushes his way in. Merdan shouts at him to stop. [Turkish] A chicken that wanders a long time gets into sh*t! Take off your shoes! Put on the slippers! Yekta laughs about the traditional house rules.

Yekta’s welcome from the rest of the “loved ones” isn’t much better. Metin sharply asks, what going on? They are here to speak with Ilgaz, Merdan says with displeasure, we’ll have to let them stay until he gets back. Yekta is surprised Ilgaz is not there. They will have to wait. It’s a very unpleasant and awkward situation.

Ilcey head home. Ilgaz looks at the photo of his grandfather with Zulkuf.

Thanks so much, dondi, for a recap that explained many things to me. I felt a bit confused about what happened with Pars and the woman and child in his car. Your explanation was perfect.

I now like Turgut Ali. He's a real pro. What I don't understand is why he keeps having Rafet involved in interrogations, even though he's a total liability in each one.

I love the way the young 'uns: Parla, Merve, and Tugce are so good with Defne. They don't seem like some U.S. teenagers who wouldn't be in the least attentive to a little girl.

I think that the dish that Rafet tried was very spicy. Something was said about it having been picoso (spicy hot, lots of chiles). They sure are showing that Rafet is all about the food.

Derya's grief is very hard to watch. They keep showing her clutching her stomach from time to time, but I feel pretty sure the fetus is going to survive.

I was listening to NPR in the car this afternoon and overheard a news report about today being a special day in Turkey. Apparently, every year on November 10 at 9:05 AM, Turkey has a moment of silence to memorialize the time of death in 1938 of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the George Washington of Turkey. Google this guy; just an exceptional person.

Yes, it’s nice to see the girls take care of Defne. Maybe it’s because they consider everyone in this circle as family.

Rafet is a lazy slob. Maybe Turgut takes him to force him to do some work. You’re right about the spicy snack. Rafet asked Zulkuf’s son “what kind of pepper is this? How sharp!” And the look on the son’s face was great.

Turgut seems to be a good guy, but I still think he’s very odd.

OT - Atatürk

ITA, novelera, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was a very interesting and exceptional person. The surname ‘Atatürk” means “Father of the Turks”. Insulting him is a serious crime in Turkey. Movies, miniseries, and specials about him have been released this year. October 29, 2023 was the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey.

Chalo and Angustias return from the police dept. The neighbor cooperated and told the cops about Mario’s actions. This gives Angustias hope, but not Chalo

Tigre tells Braulio that it’s “his” Nuria and gives him her address. He goes to see Nuria and starts singing the same ole song about his marriage and how much he loves her. Nuria tells him, basically, to go to hell. He begs some more, but is run off——finally——by Chenta, Nuria and Carmen. Later, the “sisterhood “ Eugenia, Chenta and Carmen, say they have Nuria’s back and not to leave town because of Braulio

Martha admits to Aida that she loves Andres/Juan

Santi goes to headquarters at Lianna’s request. She tells him there’s been a complaint about his relationship with Nuria and she will have to fire her. He says no, she needs the job and he will resign. Lianna asks him why he’d do that for her and he says that he loves Nuria. Meltdown time, yet again, for Lianna. After her histrionics, he’s forced to tell her that he doesn’t love her and never has. She tells him to leave

Eugenia tells Santi at breakfast that she will help him with Nuria, but he shouldn’t have lied

Breakfast at the mansion and Braulio is clearly preoccupied. Andres/ Juan asks if he can stay home to play chess some more with Martha. Amelia agrees

Braulio and Tigre go to the store to see Nuria, but Amelia shows up so they leave

Chelo rushes over to see Jacinto

Amelia wants to have lunch with Nuria——Nuria not so much—- but Rosendo chimes in and Nuria has no other choice but to go. Amelia takes her to the school and Nuria seems to have a rush of emotions while there. Amelia tells her that she knows that she recently lost a son. She introduces her to Diego who asks if they’ve met before

Crooked Capt goes to see Fausto to tell him that Jacinto stole the file. Fausto already figured that out. The Capt will fire him, but Fausto says no, he’s got a better plan for Jacinto

Gracias, Dondi. Ay, things are as bad as they can get and then they get even worse. Then I get clarification from your sterling recaps and realize things are even worse than that.

Poor Derya. It's tough to watch her horror and pain. Such a shame she and Pars were in discord right before his death.

ITA Turgut seems like a good guy. It is realistic that they would take Ilgaz off the case.

Yekta has some nerve coming to see Ilgaz at his home. I loved the stoney reception he got from Merdan et al.

Yuck, I have something in common with Rafet. We both like eating pistachios.

I sure hope Tugce tells her dad about her suspicions of Eyup.

There's the annoying - like Violetta telling Lianna, 'HE's breaking the rules you need to fire HER!' And Lianna telling Santi 'YOU'RE breaking the rules, I'm going to fire HER!' But that is to be expected in a novela of course.

And Jacinto not telling Amelia that Andres is ALIVE!!! That is driving me crazy!!! He doesn't even have to tell her the whole truth about Chelo and Fausto if he wants to protect Chelo. It's entirely possible to tell Amelia that a DNA test proves she buried the wrong child without giving her all the other details - not that he SHOULD hide the truth, but even if he wants to hide the truth, he can still tell her Andres is alive. Or Chelo can, it's cruel to keep it from her!

There is the creepy - all things Fausto!!! But the actor is killing it!! He's really doing a fantastically creepy job in this role. BTW I didn't realize he KNEW the dead kid wasn't Andres, I knew he just latched onto the dead boy as convenient, but I figured he just didn't really know one way or the other whether it actually was Andres. But nope, he absolutely knew that the dead kid wasn't Andres and lied. And Novelera, I was wrong the other day about how Fausto is gaslighting Chelo - he told her that Andres was killed BECASUE Chelo went to the thugs and asked about Andres and tried to get him back! Thus, it's her fault that he's dead. That's not just cold hearted, that's frozen ice hypotherma inducing cruelty, what a thing to do to the woman you 'love'...

But there's so much more good...

The softening of Marta - I am really pleased to see this because I love Laura Flores and I wasn't enjoying disliking her character! lol

And especially Diego and Amelia. I loved their conversation once again, two people who are at cross purposes but still have enough goodness and respect to be honest with each other and treat each other well instead of simply being threatened. Amelia is scared to lose Juandres naturally and could easily turn Diego in just to get him out of the way and contain her fears; but she doesn't. She admits that Diego is a good man and simply states she won't help his search because she fears its outcome. Meanwhile, he silently accepts and respects her position instead of arguing his point. It's almost too mature of an interaction for a novela! :)

Thanks again, carmella for a fine recap!

I have been wondering who plays Vicenta, hot pants neighbor. So far the Wiki doesn't show her in the cast. I know I've seen "Chenta" in some other TN but can't place her. If I knew her real name, googling her would show the TN in which I'd seen her.

Violeta just doesn't get it, does she. Nor does Liana. Liana pretty much forced Santiago to say that he never loved her and never would. The way the scene was played it seemed to be the only way he could convince her to let go of her obsession. And, of course, this being a TN, she won't. The "other woman" in TNs is doomed to spend the entire show being thwarted.

Laura Flores is always very good in her roles. Being annoying enough to almost make me throw a shoe at my TV, she's now morphed into a skeptic about Braulio and "good grannie" for Andres/Juanito.

I enjoyed Diego and Nuria meeting.

I have a bad feeling about Consuelo being able to get away from Fausto and what might happen to Jacinto. It may be too early for Nuria to learn about the awful, cruel thing of telling her that Andres had died in a car fire.

I don't quite understand where Nuria lives now. The entrances to each person's individual apartment appear to open on a courtyard where lots of the scenes take place. And Chalo and his mother seem to walk right into Rosalia's apartment as if they lived in some sort of commune.

The actress playing Vicenta is the same actress who played the female cop, Linda, in Juego de Mentiras. She was also in 100 dias para enamorarnos. I had the same can't place her feeling so I looked Vuelve up on IMdb, which often has a more complete cast listing than Wiki fyi. Her name is Maria-Laura Quintero.

I agree that it's too soon for Nuria to learn the awful truth, but I wish she would learn at least that Andres is alive. Even if she had to learn that he was alive with the believe that he was somewhere in the US, or who knows where, I which she at least could know that he's not dead.

Ilgaz asks Ceylin if she knew of Pars’ connection to Merdan Dede. Pars was set on finding Kesik, she replies, Merdan Dede was the go-to person. I’m not surprised, it makes sense. That’s not what I asked, Ilgaz says. I suspected it, Ceylin answers, but I wasn’t sure. Besides, I wasn’t involved, ask Dede.

Ilcey meet up with Eren at the hospital parking garage. They find Pars’ car and wonder how they took Pars. Ilgaz thinks Pars would have resisted. He would have found a way to leave clues. They somehow neutralized him and put him in another vehicle.

Ilgaz calls IT and asks if the hospital footage was reviewed. The IT guy says a funeral truck left the lot, but he couldn’t read the plates. They were covered in mud. It left 22 minutes after AG Pars arrived. Ilgaz asks him to keep going over the footage and to let him know if anything else is found. Ilgaz shares this news with the others. He asks Eren to send a crime scene unit to examine Pars’ car. Let’s go ask inside if anyone picked up a body that day.

A hospital employee confirms that no deaths were recorded at the hospital on that day. Ceylin asks if the person died earlier, and the family came to collect the body on that day. The worker is sure that no bodies were taken on the day in question.

Now Ilgaz is certain that Pars was in that funeral truck. Ceylin asks if they can find the truck without knowing the plate. Not possible, Ilgaz replies, we’ll have to follow the route they took. It’s a lot of work.

Merdan calls Ilgaz to tell him Yekta is at the house. Ilgaz is reluctant to share that with Ceylin.

Ilgaz updates Eren and asks the komiser to come by the house when he’s finished. Eren worries something happened at the house and he asks Ceylin. Ceylin says, it’s not what you think, everyone is fine, don’t worry.

Awkwardness continues at the Kaya house. Yekta makes a comment to Defne, and he tells Omer that Defne is Metin’s daughter. Cinar sends Defne to her room. Aylin halfheartedly serves tea to the guests. Yekta accepts, Omer declines.

Metin comments that Yekta doesn’t deserve tea. Merdan adds, many people who don’t deserve to breathe continue to do so. He’s one of them. Gul chimes in, God has the final say, of course, but not even a helal morsel will pass down his throat. I’ll guess that’s like saying Yekta should choke, which he sort of does. Lol. Merdan and Metin give Gul such a look.

A knock at the door breaks some of the tension. It’s Ilgaz and Ceylin. Yekta gets up and gives his condolences. He was a great jurist, wonderful in the courtroom. He will be missed. Ilgaz snaps back, what do you want? Yekta doesn’t want to talk in front of so many people.

They go up to Ilgaz’s place. Ilcey and Yekta enter, but Ilgaz shuts the door on Omer, saying, this is a private conversation. Yekta apologizes for coming empty handed. Ceylin says he shouldn’t have come at all. Say what you must and go, Ilgaz tells him.

Yekta won’t talk with Ceylin present. Ilgaz asks her to step into the other room. She objects and Ilgaz puts his foot down. He brings her to the bedroom. Yekta is amused, he thought Ceylin was the boss in the relationship.

Ilgaz explains to her he hates having Yekta there. Stop this and let him say whatever. I’m nervous, Ceylin replies, this is Yekta. He tells her not to worry and leaves. Ceylin calls Eren and tells him Yekta is at the house, and he wants to talk to Ilgaz. Hurry up and come.

We may not get along, Yekta begins, but I’m here to do what’s right. I’m here to do something I shouldn’t do. I’m here to offer help. Ilgaz snarks, you’re making me cry. Yekta leans forward. An AG was murdered, I know your family is in danger. How long can you keep them safe here? Ask for my help and I’ll help.

How will that work, Ilgaz asks. This is the risky part, Yekta replies, but you know I love danger. I think Hilmi knows more than we think. He may know who killed Pars or he can help us find out. Okay, Ilgaz says, let’s call him to give a statement.

Yekta notes that Turgut is now in charge of the case. I don’t know him well, I’m not sure what he’s like and I don’t want to be blamed if anything goes wrong. But I know you. Yes, Ilgaz replies, enemies tend to know each other well. A common trait, Yekta answers, let’s work together in secret. Ask Hilmi for a meeting and I’ll act as an intermediary. I’ll be with him as his lawyer. I’ll make him talk.

What do you gain, Ilgaz asks. Nothing, Yekta claims, I’m doing you a favor. Ilgaz jumps up—leave! You’ve never done anyone other than yourself any favors! Get out! Yekta gets out of his seat. Ilgaz, the footage you obtained for Ferda’s case came from our office and it was given to us by Selim. That’s how you got Hilmi and the others. It all leads back to me. If those men find out about this meeting, I’ll be in trouble too.

Ilgaz understands. Yekta says, the enemy of the enemy is my friend. We will both win and be safe. Think it over. Let me know.

Yekta and Omer run into Eren on their way out. Snarky exchanges. Eren warns, if anyone in that house gets hurt, I swear I’ll erase you and that snob from the 70s from the Earth. Eren gives Yekta a good bump as he passes. Yekta brushes the “dirt” from his suit. Ilgaz watches at the window and makes sure Yekta leaves. So does Merdan.

Ilgaz shares Yekta’s proposal with Eren and Ceylin. Eren doesn’t trust Yekta. Ceylin thinks it’s clear that Yekta is scared. If we tell Igor that Yekta is behind this, you think he’ll let him live? He’s trying to protect himself. He’s using you. The devil whispers for you to tell Igor about Yekta. Don’t worry, I’ll kill Yekta myself. Ceylin! A reproach from Ilgaz.

Ceylin continues, if it means nobody else dies or gets hurt, I think we should make a deal… even if it’s Yekta. Haven’t we suffered enough? I can’t breathe anymore, can you? We are always pushed to the edge… I’m done. I want a peaceful night’s rest. This could end and no one else would get hurt.

Eren’s not sure. He says, the way I see it, Ceylin is right. We’ve suffered enough. Ilgaz makes the decision—we will accept. He calls Yekta, who is pleasantly surprised to get the call so soon. See what fear can do, he says. He tells Ilgaz he will be in touch.

Ceylin and Osman talk out on the balcony. We buried the body, he says, but now everyone is in danger. How is that possible? I don’t understand. You know more than you’re telling me. Ceylin complains that Osman is driving her crazy. She calls him a coward. Ilgaz gave me classified info, she says, he explained it, the kids get it, but you don’t. All you have to do is stay here with your family for 2 days. We lost Pars!

Osman says, I’m sorry about that. He was a good person, I was fond of him. I think if we had been able to go out for drinks, we’d have become great friends. We had a lot in common [really?] It wasn’t meant to be. Ceylin rolls her eyes and walks away. Osman sighs, such is God’s will.

Ilgaz talks to Merdan. I wish I had warned you, Dede says, I didn’t tell you Pars was about to do something stupid. He seemed so determined when he showed up. Had I told you, Pars would still be alive. Much like my old friend Zulkuf.

Ilgaz comforts Merdan, it wasn’t your fault. He didn’t talk to me either. They found out we were after Kesik. They were killed before they got to Kesik. Sometimes you think you’re doing the right thing, but it’s such a fine line that you fail to see you’re doing something wrong. There’s nothing to do.

Dinner is served and Ilgaz gets a call from Yekta. Ilgaz says he needs to step out. Metin wants him to sit. He says they need to talk about Yekta. Why did that disgusting man come here? Ilgaz says it was the same old usual nonsense. Start dinner without me.

Ilgaz answers the call. Yekta says it took a lot of work, but I sold Hilmi on the idea. He will be at my house at 9p, don’t be late. End call. Yekta tells Lacin important guests are coming, make one of your tasty desserts.

Gul wonders how everyone will fit in the house. Ceylin tells her they will make it work. What matters is you are all safe. Ilgaz calls Ceylin. She tells her mom she’s stepping out and asks her to keep an eye on Derya. Gul is making soup for her.

Eren makes sure Umut brings food to Ozge. Ilgaz tells Eren they are going to Yekta’s house. Eren knows why they chose the jewelry store. The owner used to gamble at the casino. They probably took the keys and made copies while he was gambling.

Gul brings Derya the soup. She leaves it on the bedtable for her. Is there anything you want, she asks. Derya replies, can you give me a hug? Gul obliges. Derya sobs.
Ilcey and Eren arrive at Yekta’s. Omer answers the door and says only Ilgaz can enter. Eren and Ceylin go to the car to wait.

There is a condition for the meeting. Everyone must leave their cell phones away from the discussion, on the dining room table. Ilgaz complies. Why is Omer looking at the phones on the table?

Ceylin is ticked over having to wait outside. She calls Lacin and asks her to keep an eye out and listen to what they say, now and after Ilgaz leaves. Don’t worry, Lacin replies.

Yekta opens, I told Hilmi about your situation and told him what you asked me to do. Hilmi says it’s a difficult situation. I don’t know the hitman you’re after. Yekta interjects—but he wants to help. Don’t you, Hilmi? Of course, Hilmi replies, but it’s very risky.
Yekta tells Ilgaz, you know how dangerous this criminal organization is. Gathering info can prove deadly. Omer walks from the kitchen with a glass of water. He walks to the dining room table and puts his glass down by the cell phones.

Ilgaz asks, what do you want? Yekta says there’s a case under investigation. Hilmi’s partner owns a warehouse. I don’t know the details, but he’s being watched on your orders. Ilgaz asks, the Belykozu Warehouse? Hilmi nods. I’m having it watched because I suspect antiques are being smuggled there.

Yekta asks him to call off the officers and grant them a 2 day break, so Hilmi can send his belongings abroad. In exchange, he’ll get you the name you want and everyone’s happy. We see Lacin listening in from the kitchen. Omer is smirking.

Ilgaz stands up. You’re asking a DA to cover up your crimes and commit one? Are you asking me to abuse my position and play dumb so you can get away with it? Yekta says, no, we just asked a question. How much do you love your family? Are you willing to pay the price? Ilgaz takes his phone off the table and leaves.

Oh… the DA is very upset, Yekta notes. What happened, Hilmi asks, I’m in danger now. He won’t leave me alone. Calm down, Yekta says. Haven’t you ever gone fishing? You throw the line and wait for the fish to bite. Be patient, sit down.

Ceylin and Eren are anxious to hear how the meeting went. Ilgaz says, they are trying to drag me down with them. That’s their goal. What do you mean, Ceylin asks. I’ll tell you. They drive off.

Metin gives out the sleeping assignments.

Cinar tells Tugce he will deal with her and Parla later.

Osman thinks he’s sharing a bed with Aylin, but Aylin says she’s sharing the bed with Parla and Osman gets the floor.

Eren asks Ilgaz, what do we do now? If we strike a deal with the devil, Ilgaz replies, we might not survive. I don’t know if we will know the right thing to do. We need to find that funeral truck. Eren says everyone is on high alert but no luck. Ceylin asks, what if we can’t find it? Will you accept Yekta and Hilmi’s offer then? We’ll think about it then, Ilgaz answers. Eren tells Ilcey to take care of Tugce and he leaves.

Ilcey are glad everyone is together and safe for now. Ceylin wonders how Derya is doing. Ilgaz says she doesn’t know about Ozge yet.

Turgut gives the half-time locker-room speech to the team at the station. A funeral truck without plates entered a tunnel and never exited. What kind of team are you? What kind of investigation are you running? You’ll check every funeral truck in the country if need be! I understand, we are dealing with an organized crime syndicate, but is this the first criminal organization we are dealing with? AG Pars was murdered.

Ilgaz walks in on the speech. Turgut continues, is this the best we can do? Is finding a hitman too much for us? Tomorrow is AG Pars’ funeral. What are we going to do? How can we face the people we serve? What will we say to them? And what will we say to our colleague, DA Derya? That we are sorry and we can’t solve the case? You don’t respect his memory.

That’s not all, Turgut says, another DA, Ilgaz Kaya, was threatened along with his family. Should we let them keep humiliating us? Find that hitman. Bring him in! That’s the only result I want. Kolay gelsin.

Eren tells Ilgaz there’s nothing new. Intelligence located 2 men. One died and the other went abroad. We have nothing! They clean up after themselves every time! There’s no time to waste, Ilgaz says, I couldn’t sleep thinking about who’s next.

Eren asks, what are we going to do? Call Yekta, Ilgaz replies. Eren asks, you’re taking his offer? I’ll lie a little, Ilgaz answers, I’ll show some initiative by getting rid of the officers that are following them. I’ll have another team take over. They’ll trust me when they see the officers are gone. It will take them 2 days to move the antiques to the border. In the meantime, we will identify the hitman and catch him before Hilmi can smuggle the goods.

Eren thinks that’s a great plan. In the end, the criminals will be punished. Ilgaz calls Yekta to accept the deal. The officers will be gone in 30 minutes. I want the name and address of the hitman, or I’ll set that warehouse on fire!

And we are out.

Another illuminating recap, dondi. You filled in many of the "huh?" scenes for me, as usual.

I loved seeing the door shut in Omer's face. And I also enjoyed Ilgaz comforting Merdan. In the past he's been too "stick up his..." to be affectionate with his grandfather.

Why does Lacin keep behaving like she's Yekta's wife, dining with him and not screaming when he requests desserts for some meeting of his? Drives me nuts! I get it that she wants Omer to be her son and takes Yekta into the bargain, but I still hate it.

Thanks for explaining the jewelry store owner's connection and possibly having his keys stolen. I missed that completely.

I expected Gul to say something to Derya about the pain of being a widow softening a bit with time, but maybe just holding her while she cried was enough.

Yes, why is Omer looking at the phones and putting water near them?

I enjoyed hospitable Metin smiling as he decides where everyone will be able to sleep. Metin doesn't smile enough to suit me and looks so sweet when he does so.

I also see actors and actresses on telenivekas for both Uni is ion and Telemundo. The Alecia actress played a villain on " Amarte es mi Camino ," and Violet as dad in prison was her wealthy , goid guy dad. I think Rosalie and Chalo were mother and son in " Herencia. "

Secrets #117 part 1

Yekta tells Hilmi, we are all set, Ilgaz is on board. He will help us. Omer listens.
Omer heads to his office, crosses paths with Ayten, and stares at her as he closes his office door. He calls Eyup. We don’t hear what he says, we only hear “okay” from Eyup. Eyup takes a wad of TL from the register. Another worker watches him. Eyup tells him he’s taking the money to Cinar and will be back.

Omer does something with his phone, then he opens his laptop and sends a file somewhere. [Is he doing all this on his own, without Yekta’s knowledge?]

Ozge goes before the judge. Ceylin and Tolga are with her. Ceylin begins, Your Honor, as a member of the Justice Department, my client made a confession based on her respect and blind faith in the system. This is a sign of her faith in the process. My client has no reason to flee and has a known address. In fact, you know her well. As a preventive measure, she can be granted house arrest and be forbidden from leaving the country. I ask for your discretion that my client be released under strict supervision.

The judge replies, Ozge, you know I’m fond of you, but you admitted your crime. Counselor, your client admitted to killing a person. Don’t expect me to grant supervised release.

They leave the judge’s chambers and Derya is waiting in the hallway. Ozge tells Derya she’s sorry. They hug. I’m so sorry about AG Pars, Ozge cries. Derya gives Ozge the engagement ring and tells her, Ridvan bought this for you. Pars had it in his office. Wear it, it will give you strength.

Derya says she will meet with the prison DA. Ceylin tells Ozge to stay strong, don’t give up, I’ll get you out. Ozge thanks Ceylin for everything. The guard escorts Ozge down the hallway. Derya asks Ceylin if Ozge will be safe. Ceylin tells her Ilgaz spoke to the warden so he’s aware of the situation. Ozge will be in her own cell.

Eyup comes to see Cinar. He gives him the money and asks if there’s anything he needs. Merdan watches and asks Tugce, who is that guy? [He asked the right person!] Tugce replies, I’d love to tell you, but it must stay between us. Merdan answers, did I ever break my word to you? Tugce says, I don’t know what it is and where he came from. He showed up out of the blue when Defne was kidnapped. He said he saw her and Cinar trusts him. Idiot! [so glad she told Dede!]

Eyup tells Cinar everything’s good at the pool hall. He asks if Ilgaz is there, he’d like to say hello. Nope, Ilgaz is not home. Eyup says he should go. He tells Cinar to text if he needs anything. On his way out, Eyup eyes the stairs up to Ilcey’s apartment.

Hilmi makes a call to have the merch ready for shipping. We’ll leave tomorrow afternoon. He tells Yekta that Ilgaz kept his promise. Yekta tells Hilmi it’s his turn now. Give Ilgaz the name and address of the hitman. Hilmi hands over a note. Yekta comments, you had it all along?

Ilgaz counts—40 minutes. Eren worries, why hasn’t he called? They want to be sure, Ilgaz replies. Ilgaz gets the call. Yekta says the guy is called “Doctor” and he’s hiding under a bridge at the Golden Horn Shipyard. Container 11-32.

Eyup leaves the Kaya premises as Ceylin and Derya arrive. They go straight upstairs to Ilcey’s place. Ceylin heads to the kitchen to make something to eat. Derya admires a figurine on the shelf. Ceylin asks her, what is it?

Derya doesn’t answer that. She asks Ceylin to order a burger with large fries and a soda. I’ll have everything that Pars hated. And a very sweet dessert sounds great, too. The camera focuses on that figurine. [bad feeling about this…]

 

Secrets #117 part 2

A team is assembled at the shipyard. Turgut is there, too. Eren and Special Teams are headed to the location by boat. Turgut gives the order to start “Operation Seckin”. Special Teams moves in. There are gunshots. Eren radios, is the suspect dead or alive? He’s alive and in custody, comes the reply.

All the loved ones have gathered at the table outside before going to Pars’ funeral. Ilgaz and Eren arrive home. A big hug from Ceylin. Then a hug and thanks from Derya. And a hug from Defne, who asks, is the danger over now? Are we safe? Yes, it’s over, Ilgaz replies, we are safe. Thirty-nine people, including the hitman, were arrested today. Every member of the gang is in custody. You can go back to your normal lives.

Defne is a bit sad. She liked everyone all together. Ilgaz says, sorry, you have to settle for just us now. He gives her a kiss and a hug. Everyone comes the table to eat.
The Governor speaks, it saddens me to say goodbye to AG Pars Seckin, a man I had the honor to know. Our only solace is that the authors of this heinous attack have been arrested and processed in the court of law. I hope we don’t have another attack like this. I now ask our colleague, DA Ilgaz Kaya, to say a few words. He and Pars attended school together and worked together.

Ilgaz begins, my friend, our colleague, AG Pars Seckin, is in the courthouse for the last time today. Every day he fought with faith for justice. It behooves me, and all of us, to have justice be done to ensure that everyone responsible for his death will be punished in every way possible. AG Pars deserves it.

Someone comes over to whisper in Turgut’s ear during Ilgaz’s speech. Ilgaz continues, without compromising my integrity, I’ll continue to do the work he did without reservations. I’ll abide by my oath and my word. Ilgaz gets emotional, “Sen rahat uyu Başsavcım”- Rest easy my AG. Your name will always be remembered, you will never be forgotten. We will proudly carry on your legacy… our word of honor.

Everyone stands and applauds as the honor guards raise Pars’ coffin and carry it out of the hall. “Şehit, Cumhuriyet Başsavcısı, Pars Seçkin, 1986 – 2023 – Martyr, Chief Prosecutor of the Republic, Pars Seckin. The attendees file out behind the coffin.

Turgut walks over to Ilgaz and asks him to come to his office. The procession continues out of the courthouse and Pars’ coffin is loaded into the funeral truck. More applause from the crowd gathered outside. The officers, including Eren [who looks handsome in his uniform] and Rafet, salute.

There’s someone waiting for Ilgaz in Turgut’s office. What’s going on? Other officials enter the room. Turgut proceeds, Ilgaz Kaya, an investigation has been opened against you by the court in Bakirkoy and DA Ozcan Sandik [the guy waiting in the office.] There’s concrete evidence of bribery, corruption, and abuse of power. I have to place you in custody. Ilgaz is thunderstruck.

Ilgaz asks, what bribe? Is there any evidence? What do you mean you’re detaining me? Should I remind you you’re dealing with a DA? Ozcan steps in. Calm down, it took more than a rumor to bring us here. Turgut says DA Ozcan will give his statement.

Ozcan says he’s not singling out Ilgaz. I’m well aware of whom I’m dealing with and I’m very disappointed. Ilgaz tries to speak but he’s shut down. Turgut wants this handled as quickly as possible. Ozcan continues, a complaint was filed against you. We notified the Department of Justice and the Council of Judges and Prosecutors. We got permission to investigate.

Ilgaz asks, who made the complaint? These are baseless accusations. Ozcan explains these are not false accusations. The complaint was accompanied by concrete evidence. This is an organized crime case. Law enforcement was notified of a bribe you allegedly took and that’s why we investigated your accounts. Large sums were transferred into it. And then, you gave instructions and had other transfers done to your father, Metin, to your brother, Cinar, and your grandfather, Merdan, who is still pending trial.

Ozcan continues, these transfers were made at the time of the incident. Ilgaz denies it all. I didn’t transfer money or give instructions! He asks, what version of events are we talking about? Ozcan replies, we received a signed copy of instructions from your bank. They are in the file.

Ilgaz exclaims, this is a lie! It’s a plot against me! I’d like to attend my colleague’s funeral and be present at his burial. Let’s call this an accident and I’m sure once you do an in-depth investigation, you’ll realize these are baseless accusations.

Ozcan says Ilgaz will be detained. There’s too much evidence. The Department of Justice and the Supreme Court support us. Turgut wants to look at the file.

Ceylin wanders over to Eren. Have you seen Ilgaz? Turgut called him over. Something’s going on. We get a shot of Yekta and Omer as Ceylin says, the nightmare isn’t over. Let’s go inside. Yekta notices the two entering the building. The funeral truck drives away.

Yekta turns to Omer, where did they go? Who would leave their friend on his final journey? Interesting that Ilgaz is also missing. Omer says he has no idea. [I call BS.] Creepy Omer smiles.

Turgut reads, you made a deal with people who smuggle antiques? You’re also accused of being a member of their organization. The accusations are terrifying and as mentioned, large sums went into your account and were transferred out. It says a large portion of the collection is in your home. [the figurine?]

Ilgaz explains, if you are talking about the Beylikduzu warehouse, that was under surveillance for smuggling. Exactly, Ozcan interjects. Ilgaz says he took some initiative to get the hitman’s location. And he’d do it again if necessary. He looks at Ozcan and says, I’m sure you’ve done similar in large operations.

Ozcan stands and faces Ilgaz. I’ve never taken a bribe. Sadly, most of our colleagues you could use as an example are in prison, where they belong. Ilgaz admits, yes, I met with Hilmi Yozva, Yekta Tilmen’s client. He asked us to withdraw the officers watching his warehouse in exchange for giving us the hitman. That’s what I did. That’s how we got him. I assigned another team to the warehouse. The warehouse is being emptied today and we are ready to move in. Was this examined?

What a shame, Ozcan says. Ilgaz continues, I pretended to make a deal to capture the hitman! We attacked them and the rest of the gang were captured! Turgut asks Ilgaz to calm down. We need to find common ground. Let’s find out if things happened as you say. If you are confident everything happened as you say, we’ll do what it takes to correct any mistakes. We’re not judges, we don’t get the final say.

Ilgaz claims he has nothing to hide. Do whatever you want. Turgut says they will search Ilgaz’s home immediately. His room, his phone records. He asks for Ilgaz’s phone, which he hands over right away. Ilgaz is sure they won’t find anything. [Ah, Ilgaz, ah, you’ve been set up by Omer.]

Ozcan wants to take Ilgaz to Bakirkoy to detain him. Turgut says no need. He can stay here. We need to work together on this anyway. Ozcan argues Ilgaz should go to where the crime was committed, but he gives in to Turgut.

Ilgaz demands to know who filed the complaint. Ozcan says he can’t say, the file is sealed. [Did you catch that look from Turgut? Does he know?] Ilgaz removes his robe and leaves with the officer. He knows the way. Turgut and Ozcan look at each other. [Does it mean anything?]

Ceylin and Eren cross paths with Ilgaz. He tells her to file a POA immediately… we need to talk. He quickly explains he’s being detained, etc. Ceylin and Eren are stunned. What? Is this a joke? What are you talking about? Bribery? Smuggling? How can you be detained?

Ilgaz tells her, do what I ask. Look into the evidence. He notes he’s an Adjunct Attorney General, maybe the same level as those who came to detain him. I’ll only testify before a judge, he says.

Ozcan has the permits and gives the order to first search Ilgaz’s office and then his home. Ceylin comes to Turgut’s office. Why was my client detained? Ozcan comments, how quickly he found a lawyer. Was he prepared? Did he think he’d be caught?

Ceylin fires back, how can you waste the time of such an honorable colleague? Turgut explains that Ceylin is Ilgaz’s wife. Your POA isn’t on file, Ozcan says. I’ll file it as soon as I learn more, Ceylin replies. Okay, file it, Ozcan replies, and I’ll answer your questions. Turgut tries to diffuse tension. Remember we are all on the side of the law.

Exactly, Ceylin answers, I’ll ask again…why did you detain a DA? Did you get permission from the Council and the DOJ? Have you been authorized?

Ilgaz is brought to the holding cell. The guard is too embarrassed to look at him. Ilgaz removes his watch and the pic of Pars from his jacket. He tells the guard don’t be ashamed, do your duty. Ilgaz tucks Pars’ pic in his inside pocket. He hands over his tie, his wedding ring, his belt, and shoelaces.

The guard who accompanied him says he’s sorry, and he locks Ilgaz in. The cell guard says, I’ll be here in case you need anything.

Ceylin reads the file. Ozcan says the file was sealed; he’s only letting her look at it because Turgut requested it. Then he snatches the file from Ceylin. Turgut tells her they will search Ilgaz’s office and home. Ceylin says she wants to go with them. She also wants Hilmi and Yekta questioned since they are the ones who allegedly struck a deal with Ilgaz. Turgut says they will be questioned. She adds that her client will only speak before the judge.

Turgut has some questions for Eren. You’re always with Ilgaz so maybe you can help. Eren explains, we were in my office when Ilgaz proposed the plan. He made it seem like he would go along with what they wanted. He also said he’d have another team take over.

Turgut asks, were you with him when he went to Contraband? No, Eren replies. Then you’re not a witness, Turgut says. No, I’m not, Eren confirms. Turgut asks, did he leave? Yes, Eren says, he did what they asked and got the address. That’s how we caught the hitman. You were there. Turgut asks about the operation to stop the shipment. How far along was that?

Eren says he’s in Homicide, so he doesn’t have the details, but he’s sure Ilgaz would not let that slip. Turgut notes that Ilgaz was very upset. He looks at his watch… 11:30. We’d be at the cemetery now. We would have buried Pars and been back by 14:00. He either didn’t have time to do it or never planned to. Let’s wait for the search results. Let’s find out if Ilgaz is telling the truth. If you didn’t go to the meeting, you weren’t involved. If needed, we will review your accounts and question you.

Before he goes, Eren has a question. You were here once before when we were slandered. You ran the investigation then. Thankfully, we came out clean. And you even praised us outside the courthouse. Please don’t take this the wrong way… why do you suspect us now?

Turgut replies, even the biggest sinners were innocent at some point. Man is a vulnerable species. You’ve seen so in your line of work. Aren’t some culprits the person we least expect? A complaint was made, and I was stuck in the middle. I’m looking at this from every angle, trying to see whether a crime was committed.

Ilgaz office is searched. Ozcan comments that it seems Ilgaz has an interest in art. Derya calls Ceylin, wondering where she is. I’m almost at the cemetery. Are you coming? Ceylin explains the situation and Derya is shocked. Ceylin tells her they’ll talk later.

A document is found. “scan documents to Sariyer bank branch.” It’s signed by Ilgaz. What is it, Ceylin asks. Ozcan replies, it’s the original copy of the bank instructions given by Ilgaz to transfer money to Metin Kaya, Cinar Kaya, and Merdan Kaya. Ceylin asks to see it and Ozcan hands it over.

And we are out.

Yes, Tugce and Merdan are two high IQ cast members and can hopefully figure out who Eyup is. But it seems like he should only be after Parla and maybe the rest of the kiddos. Since Omer's target is Ilgaz, I don't see why he wants Eyup as a pawn.

"You had it all along." It seems like even Yekta was surprised that Hilmi would keep his mouth shut and let an assassin and the other 39 Balkan mafia roam free until he got what he wanted. Of course Ilgaz had a Plan B. We don't yet know if Hilmi was thwarted in getting his own antiquities out of the warehouse.

Yes, indeed, Eren looks great in a uniform. He even looked clean shaven, something that, with the exception of Ilgaz, is rare in this dizi.

Why is Ozgan so nasty and determined to sink Ilgaz?

Well...at least Ilgaz can't be stabbed in a cell.
