I haven’t been able to watch much this week but have caught bits and pieces. So question. Braulio raped Liana? If that’s correct, then he no longer gets redemption and I’m now on team Tigre. Until he goes after Santi and Martha, at least. But until then, I look forward to his new alliance with Liana and his take down of Braulio. He’s doing a good job so far. I saw Braulio finding pills under the table at work, so Tigre is starting with some psychological warfare. Good. And it seems the deal with cheap fabrics is now an issue for Braulio, but I missed why. Don’t think I caught much else last night, except that Eugenio now knows that Carmen likes her and she’s getting weird about it. Get a grip, Eugenia.
Was hoping to catch up tonight but guess I’ll have to practice El fútbol words instead. Sad face.
K
K ...I wasn't able to watch , but I do know that awful Braulio did rape Liana. Thanks for explaining that Tigre put the pills under the desk to mess with Braulio. Yes ! I hope Tigre and his new partner Liana concentrate on Braulio and leave Santi alone to work on getting Nuria back.
Diego and Almelia are bright spots in this dark drama.
Violeta is scary nasty. Susan
It looks like Peacock finally uploaded an additional episode, but they haven't added two new episodes, which is what it should have been if the show aired both Weds and Thurs nights. Either way, I have some work I have to do this morning before I can watch but I'll be back this afternoon and provide some notes for the episode if no one beats me to it!
Well the episode I'm watching now must have been last night's episode and not the one I missed from Weds - which is still not on Peacock - because this shows the follow up for a lot of things I haven't seen.
For example:
Aida and Amelia are panicked looking for Andres because a woman picked him up from school - but I never saw that.
Rosa and Raymundo are fighting because he didn't tell her that his daughter is in love with her daughter, yikes, I never saw her learn of that.
Martha's bio-daughter is thinking back on a conversation with Santi that I never saw.
I guess the episode is lost to Peacock, maybe I can find out what I missed from the Telemundo website or something. Here's some notes on what I did see which is surely last night's episode.
Juandres was MIA and the ladies of the household were panicked because the school let 'a woman' pick him up!!!! None of the ladies of the household were that woman, but it must have been Braulio's assistant or something because Juandres has been with daddy! Hanging out, having a blast and winning a huge teddy bear!!! Braulio brings him home and Amelia gives him the slap he deserves for scaring the hell out of her but Braulio assures Amelia that he's not above manipulating his son, and he will ruin the image Juandres has of Amelia if she pursues the divorce.
Martha goes back to the support group and there's a woman there who is clearly jealous of Martha's money and thinks she doesn't belong with them since they are poor and without resources. Martha assures her that the pain of losing a child is the same and it has nothing to do with money. Also at the group is Chalo's mother coming to talk about the death of her daughter. She and Martha meet and bond, closing another degree of separation between Nuria and Andres.
Tania, Marta's bio-daughter, thinks back on Santi telling her how Martha was forced to give her up for adoption and she wonders why she had to wait 'til now' to look for her, it struck me as odd at the time, since there's no time like the present but we find out later in the episode that she has terminal cancer, she tells Santi she will meet Martha. Also, it looks like she had a wonderful loving relationship with her adoptive parents but the way she was talking to their picture made it seem like they were dead now.
Violetta apparently picked a fight with Nuria, I didn't see it but it must be in the missing episode because this one has the follow up with Vi telling Santi that Nuria attacked her out of jealousy now that they are novios!!! (Really, is this chick really delusional enough to believe that she's dating him now just because she drunk kissed him??) Santi tells Vi to go away and tries to talk to Nuria. Nuria makes a comment about Vi being the next employee in the game of the brothers Zepeda, but Santi says he has nothing to do with Vi. Santi lays out the facts, he had been in jail for 4 years and Braulio never spoke to him or visited him, not once, it's easy to prove. Santi met Nuria on the day that he was released from jail and had no idea she knew his brother, they never had any plot to trick her. Nuria actually believes Santi but says it doesn't change anything, too much water under the bridge and she wants to get away from the Zepedas. She wants Santi out of her life. Santi leaves and on his way out tells Vi that they never have and never will have anything going on between them and he only helped her out of loyalty to her father! She says to stop treating her like a child and he says to stop acting like one.
Santi also tells Rosendo that Nuria is untouchable. No one fires her for any reason.
Liana and Tigre must have had some sort of victory over Braulio in the missing episode, because they are talking about this. Liana wants Tigre to get her the copy of her resignation letter that Braulio is using to hold over her head, but Tigre says he isn't stupid. If Liana had that letter she would have no use for him! No, he's going to protect his interests in this new alliance! Liana looks disappointed, but later she decides to use the weapon at her disposal - sex - to gain Tigre's trust. She shows up at his door step unexpected, strips quickly and they do the deed. Afterward, he's as formal as ever and she's trying to get him to drop the 'ustedes' right as Braulio shows up at the front door!!!
Diego went to see Chelo, he is convinced she is a decent person who is scared of Fausto and he tries to get her to tell him more about Juandres before Fausto gets home. He asks all kinds of questions about how she can abandon such a loving and joyful boy, but Chelo doesn't answer any of them and just stands there looking afraid and telling Diego to leave. Diego guesses correctly that she might be willing to abandon the boy to save him from Fausto. Speaking of the devil he appears, and Diego tells him to leave Amelia alone or they will go to the police. Fausto says he has friends in the police department and tries to dismiss Diego as just part of the help, but Diego says his relationship with Amelia isn't Fausto's business. He isn't afraid of Fausto and he isn't a violent man, but if Fausto doesn't leave Amelia alone?? Well then, who knows? It's a vague threat but I actually think it might have been effective??! Fausto did look a little intimidated when Diego walked out and when Chelo suggests that they leave Amelia in peace before all of this comes back on them and the truth gets out, he looks like he's considering it.
Santi tells Martha that he found her daughter and she wants to meet her! I don't know if he also told her about the cancer, I don't think so, but I got distracted and may have missed it. Braulio is told too that the long lost half-sister has been found.
Amelia is cuddling with Juandres getting assurances that their bond is unbreakable. Juan falls asleep beside her but is startled awake by a dream he has of Nuria. He doesn't see her face clearly in the dream but hears her voice and when he wakes he knows of whom he dreamt. 'I was dreaming with her' he tell Amelia, 'who?' she askes, 'My mommy' Juandres answers, and we fade to black.
Darcy, thank you so much for the recap. I have seen some photos online , and I believe this was capitula#39. I think you might have missed #38 . In that one , I think Santi went to see the woman he believes is his mother's daughter .I remember thinking that her wig was awful....then we find out she has cancer.
It seems this show's Violeta is self deceptive and relentless . She was Pawing all over Santi.
I am worried about Diego, who is now the second good guy to confront Evil Eyed Fausto , who has surely sold his soul to the devil just as Faust did .Fausto killed sweet ,foolish Jacinto , so I hope Diego isn't the next good guy to go. I suppose it will take the galan to bring him down along with Brother Braulio andHalfbro Tigre.
Kimberly DOS Ramos ( Liana) has perfected the seductive villain roles. I don't think that I have ever seen her play the goodgirl. . As you said , she goes with her strong suit and seduces Tigre completing her trifecta...Brau!io, Santi, and now halfbro Tig. Wow. Susan
Susan, Kimberly Dos Ramos played a good girl in Tierra de Reyes, she was the fun, flirty, carefree one but a good girl. She did good in the role too but I'm guessing being bad is more fun. Per Wiki, Kim is the top billed actor in an upcoming televisa production, 'Vivir de Amor' which most likely means she'll be taking on a protag role again, but maybe they are just giving the villain top billing?? LOL I guess we'll see.
Thanks Darcy!
Fast-moving developments. Hope you are able to find Wednesday’s episode. Amelia went to Diego and they made love. (I know you like C de la C)!
Tania (the missing daughter) was quite hostile to Santi and said she had no interest in the woman who abandoned her. You are right, her adoptive parents are dead. Tania has a daughter, Cassandra, whom she introduced to Santi.
Seemed as though Braulio was unaware Tania existed and was none too pleased.
Hmmm, the final scene I saw in last night’s show (Thursday) was Chelo calling Diego to say she needed to see him before he returned to CDMX.
Thanks again Darcy, also Carmella, novelera others who’ve recapped and commented.
Thanks for the recap, Darcy. I will read it thoroughly, probably tomorrow, after I've seen the whole episode online. I don't know what happens to people in other parts of the country, but here in Califas I sometimes get the end of a soccer game. My DVR thinks it's the 9PM novela and records the end of the game and part of the TN episode. Grrr. If they're showing futbol, why don't they just cancel the whole episode for that night and catch up the next?
And then Secretos was a repeat of the night before, which was fine, but I had to FF through the whole thing to be sure they hadn't thrown in some more new content.
Anon, you're right the episode did end with Chelo calling Diego and asking to see him again, I forgot to add that.
I also forgot to add that Rosalia is insisting that she is ending things with Raymund because of he 'lied' to her by not telling her about Carmen being in love with Eugenia, but Nuria called her out on that and said she's really just making excuses because she is afraid to give up her independence. Also, Rosa is officially divorced now.
This will be shorter than usual. I’m recapping from original Turkish episode 61. There will likely be differences in scene order, edits, and/or dialog.
Gul is surprised to find Lacin at her door when she returns from the market. Lacin asks her if she can stay for a few days. Yes, sure, Gul says.
Eren and Derya watch Ilcey having fun by the water. They look so happy, Derya says. May God not separate them, Eren replies. Amen, Derya sincerely answers, but she feels her loss.
Ceylin tries to take an Ilcey selfie. She slips and her phone falls into the water.
Goksu’s team finds relics in the rental cars. She calls Ilgaz, who shares the good news with everyone. Ilgaz tells Eren to send a team to raid the car rental place.
Omer walks through the house. He calls for Lacin. She’s not there. Is that Yekta’s robe he puts on? He goes to the window and spots the cops who are keeping tabs on him. [stupid cops made it too obvious!] Omer continues his stroll through the house. Ha, ha, he takes out his phone and plays Bach Cello Suite No. 1 in G major, IIRC, the same song Yekta would play for relaxation. He doesn’t pour himself whiskey like Yekta would do, he pours himself a glass of water instead. He settles in on the couch and takes a sip, looking mighty pleased.
Celebratory baklava from the Contraband Department as a thank you for the successful operation. Derya wants to go home to rest. Her friends worry if she’s feeling alright. She tells them Pars would be happy to see how much they care about her. Or maybe he sees, she says. You didn’t leave me alone, thank you very much.
Metin brings pastry (şekerpare) to his blind friend, Hidayet. It’s a thanks for getting the info to find the relics. Hidayet takes a bite and says it’s not good. He tells Metin, if you had a wife, she would cook this with şerbet. Eat. Don’t start again about a wife and marriage, Metin warns.
Dear God… did Cinar say he wants to be a police officer? Cinar waits for Parla at school. He was worried about her talk with Osman. He wanted to check in, or so that’s the excuse for showing up. They hug. Tugce reminds them she’s there, too. Don’t be so romantic. So Cinar pulls her in for a group hug. She shouts and pulls away.
Cinar shares his future plans with the girls. Yes, I heard right, he wants to be a police officer. Tugce breaks into laughter. She says, think of us. I’ll stretch out my hands and you can take me in. We can’t get rid of problems—you’ll catch us on the first day. They laugh. And then we see Eyup lurking and cops following the trio.
Reporters catch Ilcey as they leave the station. Did you find the artifacts? Yes. Did you catch the criminal organization? Have the culprits been caught? Ilgaz replies, during today’s operation, we caught a criminal organization that set a trap for me. We handed the artifacts over to the police. Ten people arrested, 7 wanted. Thank you.
Ceylin gets ready for Aylin and Osman’s divorce. Ilgaz says that Osman won’t want a divorce. Ceylin says Aylin is determined. Osman is too, he replies, he loves Aylin very much. Ceylin says she tries to understand him, but he loves Aylin all wrong. It’s difficult to participate in a divorce of relatives.
Ceylin is nervous, she drops her bag and spills the contents. Ilgaz tells her to let Tolga take the case. She says he’s been away and is coming back today. Then she accidentally breaks her necklace. Allah kahretsin! What a great way to start the day! Ilgaz says he'll take the chain to be fixed and put it back on her tonight. Ilcey have to take separate cars, they are not going to the same place. For some reason he wants to take hers.
Somber Osman and Aylin at the breakfast table. Parla comes in shouting for her thermos and her grandma. Don’t shout, Aylin says, Lacin Hanım is sleeping. Grandma comes in with the thermos. Parla notes her parents are dressed up and asks why. She notes the gloomy faces. Aylin tells her about the divorce hearing. Parla loses her appetite and leaves.
Eren has been looking at footage when Ilgaz arrives. Your signature was forged 10 days ago, he says, look at what day this video is from. It’s not from 10 days ago. Ridvan and Ozge are there. Someone in the courthouse changed it. Ilgaz notes it would be someone who doesn’t know Ozge and Ridvan.
Yes, Eren replies, while you digest that information, I’ll detonate another bomb. Meral from Contraband gave me the info. The police team that you sent to the operation, the second team, were late because of an order of one DA. We don’t know which DA.
Turgut returns to the office. His assistant asks about Turgut’s daughter. She’s fine, he replies, thank you. She will get better, God willing. Turgut asks if Ilgaz has requested an arrest. The assistant says that Yekta is still in the holding cell and Omer was released. For what reason, Turgut asks. All the assistant knows is that Ilgaz gave the order.
Ozcan is in “his’ office and on the phone. Don’t tell me that, he says, you know I’m doing my best. You put a lot of pressure on me. How do I know what he’s thinking? How should I know?! Turgut walks in and Ozcan stops talking. It looks like he shuts the phone. He welcomes Turgut back. Turgut is looking for Ilgaz. He said he was going to the station, Ozcan replies.
Turgut is ticked. Explain why Omer Atamer was released. Ozcan explains, Yekta Tilmen testified. He admitted everything. He set everything up. He used these plans to destroy DA Ilgaz. Turgut doesn’t understand… he did it? Is that what he said? Ozcan confirms it. The signature, Turgut asks, did he forge the signature? Yes, Ozcan replies, he took the document and returned it to this office.
Why didn’t we see it in the video, Turgut asks. Ozcan has no idea. He adds, when Yekta confessed, Ilgaz released Omer. We’re sending Yekta to court. I’m waiting for him now. Something doesn’t add up, Turgut says, something is wrong. Where did you say Ilgaz went? To the station. Turgut abruptly turns and walks out. Ozcan dials his phone.
Ceylin buys a new phone.
Ilgaz arrives at the courthouse and runs into Turgut. They head back to Turgut’s office. Ilgaz asks about the AG’s daughter. She’s better, thank you. Turgut says, you released Omer Atamer. That’s right, Ilgaz replies, I’ll tell you everything.
In the office, Turgut asks, how did you get Yekta to confess? We made an agreement, Ilgaz replies, Yekta says he’s not guilty and I don’t believe Yekta is behind this case. It is hard to believe, but Yekta is innocent for the first time. He did not refuse to help us. He pretended to admit his guilt. [I’m thinking Ilgaz is making a big mistake confiding in Turgut.]
Ilgaz continues, someone is behind Omer. But it’s not Yekta. [note Turgut’s slight throat clearing.] Who is it, Turgut asks. We don’t know yet, Ilgaz replies, but we will find out. How will you do that, Turgut asks. I released Omer, Ilgaz says, he will definitely contact his accomplice. We’re following him, we’ll catch him.
Ilgaz hopes Turgut is not angry they did this without him knowing. [yeah, but he knows now!] Why should I be angry, Turgut replies, it’s a good plan. Only, I didn’t understand. Yekta was already in the cell, there was no need to make him confess. You could tell Omer that you believed him.
This confession was not for Omer, Ilgaz explains, it was for DA Ozcan. Turgut is surprised. Ilgaz asks, who watched the footage from the courthouse? DA Ozcan, Turgut replies, he asked security for it. First he looked and then I did.
Ilgaz tells Turgut those videos are from the wrong date. Not from the date we needed. Wait… Turgut clears his throat again… you’re saying that Ozcan is involved? Ilgaz says they got information from the Contraband department. The order I gave to the police was suspended by another DA. And during that time, the warehouse was emptied.
Who did this, Turgut asks. We don’t know but we will find out, Ilgaz answers. This suspicion gnawed at me from the very beginning, Turgut says, I tried not to pay it any attention. I can’t accuse another DA without being sure. I can’t make that mistake again. Talk face to face if you want, Ilgaz says.
Yekta gets impatient. He calls the guard. DA Ilgaz or the DA from Bakirkoy, the one with the hair like a rooster’s comb, none of them came for me? They didn’t ask about me? The guard says no. Yekta worries, they won’t forget about me, right? Someone has to come, right?
Divorce court. Aylin looks excited. Osman looks depressed. Ceylin is tense. We’re the ones getting divorced, Aylin says. Ceylin asks if Aylin would be upset if she asked Tolga to take over. Aylin objects. Will you leave me alone? Please. Ceylin stays. The case is called.
Ozcan is not in the office. Turgut notes he was just there. We can wait, Ilgaz says, maybe he went to the restroom. Turgut says he’ll call his wife in the meantime. We see Turgut dial, then there’s a cut to Omer, ready to leave the house. His phone is ringing (unknown number). He lets it ring, places it on a table and leaves.
Omer goes to the car. Ozgur asks, to where? I’ll tell you on the way, Omer replies.
Just as we all thought, so I’ll make this short. Aylin wants the divorce, Osman doesn’t. Osman makes a good enough case that the judge decides to give additional time to the defendant (Osman) to provide evidence against the causes for divorce. Aylin walks out in frustration before the judge finishes.
Aylin is ticked at Ceylin for not objecting to anything. Ceylin explains there was nothing she could do. If someone says no, the divorce is contestable. Aylin walks and Osman chases her.
Tolga arrives and crashes into Ceylin with his cup of coffee. She shouts at him. She has 4 more cases today. He wants to give her his jacket…lol. She goes off to get new clothes.
Ozcan hasn’t returned to the office. Turgut calls him. No answer. Maybe he’s running away, Turgut speculates. Turgut gets a call… he says it’s Ozcan calling back. Where did you disappear to? Ilgaz and I came to drink tea. Yes? Okay, we’ll come to you. We’ll be there in a half hour. Where is he, Ilgaz asks. He went to the barber in Ortakoy, Turgut replies. We can meet for lunch.
Omer is dropped off at a Metro station.
Parla and Tugce take an exam in class. Tugce smells something burning. Smoke comes through the bottom of the door. The fire alarm sounds, and everyone starts to leave the building. Parla falls behind, she has trouble breathing and gets separated from Tugce. And someone we don’t clearly see, (Eyup) grabs Parla from behind and drags her away.
Turgut directs Ilgaz to stop at a location. There’s no entrance at that side of the street and Ilgaz can’t park. Turgut walks down the street and into a hotel. Guessing that’s his hotel. He enters a room. He goes to the bedtable and looks at a pic of his daughter. Then he takes a gun from the drawer, loads the clip and tucks it into his waistband.
I think this might be the end of the episode. Please fill in or correct whatever is necessary.
Gracias, Dondi.
[I’m thinking Ilgaz is making a big mistake confiding in Turgut.]
ITA. I was wondering if he really trusted Turgut or this was false trust that was part of his plan.
Ceylin's bad luck (phone, necklace, clothes) was worrying, but when she bought a new phone and a new pant suit I wondered if it was simply product placement.
If Cinar makes it on anybody's police force, his trainers will deserve their weight in gold.
Sigh. Why in blazes couldn't Parla hang onto Tugce's hand and walk out like the rest of the students. Instead she leans on a wall, easy pickings for Eyup to snatch. I actually felt sorry for the actress playing this.
Quote for Turkish ep 62: "Then cities will come between us, we will never meet. Even coincidences won't be able to bring us together. Then maybe one of us will die, the other will never know." - Nâzım Hikmet
Tugce panics, she can’t find Parla. She searches, she shouts, and she asks if anyone has seen her.
Eyup has Parla bound and gagged and in the back seat of his car. He’s singing along to Serdar’s favorite song on the radio:
Aldatıldık/We Were Deceived - Jabbar Feat. Deeperise
YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPlKWii7Nec
Translation: https://lyricstranslate.com/en/aldatildik-we-have-been-cheated.html
Parla tries to make a move to her backpack and phone. Eyup sees and throws the backpack out the window.
Why do we get a close shot of a dumpster that seems random? What’s in there?
Ceylin goes to a shop and sees a green jacket in the window. [Uh oh, is this what she was wearing in the fatal flash forward?] She tries on the jacket with matching pants and a white blouse. Looks like Ceylin is dressed to kill. The salesperson tells her she looks great. May it bring you good luck. [she’ll need it.]
While waiting for Turgut, Ilgaz gets a call from DA Mesut at the prison. You asked me to notify you if anyone visited Haluk Yildirim. Omer Atamer is meeting with him now. Ilgaz asks if he’s had other visitors. Yes, someone came to see him in the morning, Mesut replies. Who is it, Ilgaz anxiously asks. Who?
Turgut returns to the car. Ilgaz finishes his call and he’s in shock. Turgut lies to Ilgaz. Ozcan wasn’t there. Maybe he’s playing with us. I’ll call him again. Ilgaz grabs the phone from Turgut. We don’t have to meet with Ozcan, do we? What are you talking about, Turgut replies. Ilgaz says, you’re the person I’m looking for. You’re Omer’s puppet master. You’re the one who tried to ruin my life and career. Turgut pulls his gun on Ilgaz and tells him to drive.
Ilgaz drives and puts the pieces together in his mind. Turgut has a sick daughter who needs treatment abroad. He remembers Yuksel saying the fear of losing someone you love forces your hand. Ilgaz asks Tugut to put the gun down. Let’s go somewhere we can talk calmly. I’m sure you were forced to do this.
A flashback. Turgut tells Haluk, May God never test anyone using their children. Nergis and I feel powerless. Ipek continues to get worse before our eyes. I’m too ashamed to hold her hand. How much do you want, Haluk asks. Turgut says he’d never do this for himself, but his daughter… Haluk asks again, how much?
A lot, Turgut replies, and it can’t be done here. We must go abroad now. Every minute she spends here, she gets worse. Don’t worry, Haluk says, we’ll get it done. We’ll care for Ipek until she recovers. I also buried a child… and a grandson. I don’t want anyone to suffer that pain.
Turgut thanks Haluk. Haluk replies, don’t thank me. I just need one favor. Bring me DA Ilgaz, the dog who killed my grandson. Put him next to me. Once he’s here, the money will be in your account. Turgut refuses to sell justice or his honor. Forget it. I want justice, too, Haluk tells him. Think about it. When you lose your daughter, your world will shatter. Is your honor worth more than your love for your daughter? Your honor more than her life? Think carefully. Turgut leaves. End flash.
Ilgaz suggests, let’s talk before we reach the point of no return. Turgut says they are already at that point.
Ceylin returns to the courthouse in her new clothes. She meets up with Tolga and they head to the next case.
Turgut has Ilgaz stop at an isolated area near a cemetery. He tells Ilgaz to stop the engine and get out. Ilgaz shakes his head. What are you doing, he asks the AG, what are you trying to do? Are you going to kill me? Turgut gets out and aims the gun at Ilgaz. Get out, Ilgaz!
Ilgaz gets out. Now what, he asks, what will you do? Turgut asks, how did you figure it out? Omer went to see Haluk, Ilgaz replies, and you did, too. Why did you do it? Was selling your honor worth it? What overwhelms you?
We go back 25 days.
Turgut comes home and can’t find his wife or daughter. He finds a note: Turgut Ali, I tried to find a solution after you called. Nothing worked. There’s no way out. We’re going to fail. I can’t watch her die before my eyes. If I can’t keep her alive, as her mother, I can end her suffering. He asks his young son, Can, where they are. The boy points up.
Nergis is up on the roof and has Ipek in her arms. Turgut calls out to her. Nergis! Our daughter is dying, she cries. She’s suffering. Don’t do this, Turgut pleads. Let’s go home. Ipek is cold. Nergis says Ipek is getting worse and I won’t let this go on. You have no right, Turgut replies. I’m her mother, Nergis answers, I can’t stand it anymore. I can’t live while my baby dies. Look after Can, please.
Nergis turns to the ledge. Turgut tells her he got the money. She doesn’t believe him. He swears he has the money. He moves closer. Things have changed, he says, I wanted to surprise you. That’s why I didn’t call you. He grabs hold of Nergis and Ipek. Nergis sobs, is this true? He swears it is. She will get better. She will grow up and be a happy girl. We’re going to Germany.
20 days earlier.
Turgut visits Haluk again. He reluctantly agrees to the deal. I’ll send Ilgaz to prison, but time is running out. Ipek needs to go abroad immediately. If you can give me an advance… Nergis and Ipek can go… Then hurry, Haluk replies, the time is in your hands, not mine. Once Ilgaz is sent to prison, you’ll get the money.
Do you think it’s easy to accuse, arrest and send a DA to prison, Turgut asks, am I supposed to do this by myself? Ipek doesn’t have time! And I do, Haluk asks in reply. If you’re pressed for time, you should hurry. I’ll send someone to you. He’s smart. I care about him, just like I did my grandson Burak.
I guess we are in the present again. Ceylin wins her case and Tolga goes with the client to finalize stuff. Ceylin has a missed call from Tugce and calls her back. Parla’s missing! What do you mean, Ceylin asks, she’s not at school? Tugce talks about the fire, she’s very upset. Ceylin tells her to calm down and call Eren. She already did that. Eren is there and the police are looking for Parla. Ceylin leaves Tolga in charge and hurries off.
Eren says they didn’t see anything on security cameras outside. Once the firefighters finish, we will check the cameras inside. The principal says they can’t. The fire started in the Security office. It’s in ashes. Tugce is very worried. Eren tries to keep her calm. Maybe Parla left. Don’t worry, we’ll find her.
Ceylin calls Eren and says she’s got Parla’s location on her app. Eren sends this out to the team. Tugce tags along.
I assume we are in a flashback again. Turgut returns to his room and is surprised by someone waiting there for him. Turgut gets his gun out and points. It’s Omer. Turgut asks, who are you? I came to see you, Omer explains, Haluk sent me. I’m here to help. My name is Omer. He holds out his hand to shake. Turgut lowers his gun.
Back to the present. Turgut tells Ilgaz that’s how it began. When I arrived, Pars had been killed and you and your family had been threatened. Things kept getting complicated. Yekta’s request was a unique opportunity and we capitalized on the situation thanks to Omer’s intelligence and help.
Ilgaz realizes that Turgut took the document from his office. You had others, he asks, why didn’t you use those? Why risk it? They were too old, Turgut says, I wanted a current signature, from that day. If it was proved to be fake, we’d be 50/50, and the truth would remain hidden. [I don’t quite get that reasoning.]
We are down to 9 days earlier. An assistant brings documents for Ilgaz to sign. Current Turgut narrates—I took the document you signed that day as soon as you left the courthouse. We see Omer receiving the message that Turgut has the document. This was during his meal with Ceylin.
Eyup takes Parla to a secluded spot with an abandoned building. She struggles against him. I’m going to kill you, he growls, be quiet. You hear me? Her gag comes loose, she tries to scream for help. He covers her mouth and threatens, if you keep this up, I swear I’ll make it hurt more. I will kill you. He drags Parla into the building. He pulls out a knife. He threatens her again to keep quiet.
Aylin gets the news from Ceylin about the fire and Parla. Aylin is frantic. Ceylin tells her to calm down, she’s located Parla on the app and is on her way. Aylin checks her app, too. Osman comes home and is informed. The Erguvans leave to find Parla.
Eyup pushes Parla onto a chair. He terrorizes her. We are alone, no one else here. It’s quiet and peaceful. Look at me. If you’re smart, you’ll shut up. I’ll untie you. If you shout or try anything, I’ll kill you. Understand? She nods. He cuts her ties. He looks her over, says she’s so thin. How did were you able to hit and kill my brother?
Parla squeaks… I didn’t mean… Eyup shuts her up. Serdar is dead, but you go on with your life. You got to be with your family and friends. You eat, drink, and have fun. You even have a boyfriend! And my brother is gone. He’s rotting in the ground! Why? Because you killed him!
Eyup grabs Parla. Should I cut your throat? Kill you? She pushes him away and Eyup and the knife fall to the floor. Parla is able to grab the knife, and Eyup gets on top of her. In the struggle, it looks like he might have fallen on the knife. Not sure if she did it in reaction to protect herself.
Neyse… Parla is horrified. Eyup passes out. She shouts for him to get up. She searches for his phone and calls Ceylin. She gasps and whimpers… Auntie, auntie… I killed him! I killed him! Are you okay, Ceylin asks. Calm down. Parla keeps repeating, I killed him! Ceylin asks, who did you kill? Parla answers, I killed Eyup!
Eren, Tugce and the team reach the app location. Tugce wonders why Parla would be there. The team starts searching. Cinar and Merve show up. Tugce thinks if they are getting a location from Parla’s phone, it’s turned on. Tugce calls her and lets it ring. Let’s look around, she says.
Eren calls Ceylin but she shuts her phone.
The kids locate Parla’s buzzing phone and her backpack. Cinar, who wants to be a policeman when he grows up, picks up the backpack and Eren shouts at him not to touch it. Eren calls the guys to check out the area where the pack was found. Eren calls in for satellite recordings.
Back to Turgut and Ilgaz. Your signature was forged, Turgut explains. While you spoke with Yekta, just like you guessed, Omer installed the app on your phone. We see that in a flashback titled 8 days later. Omer swipes the phone as he leaves the room. He installs the app and wipes the phone clean.
Turgut continues, I didn’t think you’d accept, but I know your honor was not for sale. You did the right thing even when doing what was wrong. You have that unique determination which helps you cling to your principles. Turgut gets very emotional. I’m just like you, Ilgaz replies.
Turgut shakes his head no. Unfortunately, It’s too late for me. I’m not as smart as you. I couldn’t find an honest way in which I didn’t get my hands dirty.
7 days earlier.
Yekta tells Hilmi and Omer that Ilgaz accepted their offer. Omer calls Turgut. Turgut thinks Ilgaz must have another plan. He would never sell his honor. I’ll make sure the officers are late, he tells Omer. Tell Hilmi he has one hour to move the merch. Have him give you a piece. You’ll have to find a way to get it into Ilgaz’s house.
Turgut says it was Omer’s idea to blame Yekta. If you could prove your innocence, we had a backup plan. Omer made sure everything led back to Yekta. Did it work, Ilgaz snaps back, were you able to save your daughter? No, Turgut replies, because of you, your wife, your ingenious friends, and Yekta. You figured it out. Haluk was going to deposit the money, but you were absolved. He didn’t deposit the money. It’s all your fault.
Ilgaz makes an appeal. Turgut… you’re trapped. You’re in a difficult situation. You made a mistake because you are human. You’re a father. We can save your daughter without hurting anyone. We’ll do what we can to keep her alive.
How will you do that, Turgut asks, have a charity event? Wait until we get donations? I can’t watch my daughter die, he cries, my daughter is dying, Ilgaz! And my hands are already dirty! What more can you do to me?! Ilgaz says, we can fix this. You’re a father who is trapped. Your desperation and love drove you to this.
You don’t understand, Turgut replies, you’re not a father. Do you wonder every night when your daughter is going to die? Do you check to see if she’s alive in the morning? Are you sad because your child won’t grow older?
I don’t understand, Ilgaz says, but I can help you. Turgut shakes his head. There’s nothing you can do. You and your wife ruined everything. Haluk started a new game and I’ll play accordingly. He wants you dead, Ilgaz. You should have stayed in prison. In exchange for my daughter’s life, you will die. My daughter will live.
You’re not going to do this, Ilgaz states, this isn’t the way. We’ll think of something, I promise. You’re a good man. I get your desperation. But believe me, this isn’t the way. I’m going to turn and walk away now. We’ll pretend we were never here. We’ll both find a way out. A way in which Ipek lives and her father doesn’t commit a crime.
Turgut stops aiming at Ilgaz. Ilgaz turns and starts walking back to the car. Turgut takes aim and fires two shots into Ilgaz's back. Ilgaz falls to the ground.
And we are out!!
Wait? What? Does Ilgaz really die because Turgut shoots him? How does Ceylin get blamed for killing Ilgaz? Ceylin had a knife in the flash forward. Does that have something to do with Parla stabbing Eyup? I can’t wait to see the next ep!
Finally catching up! What an explosive week! Thanks Darcy and novelera for your recaps and everyone for your comments. They really helped me to stay current with the story. My favorite thing this week———Diego and Amelia making love! It was really well done, and they are just perfect together! I like them more than our protags right about now, lol…
So Juandres is starting to remember…….not his mom’s face but her hair. He still seems far off from remembering too much, and he’s so connected to Amelia that he wants her to always be his Mommy………
I must say, Lianna needs to trade places with Chenta if Chenta is indeed a prostitute. She’s done the most sleeping around of any character in this story! Like Tigre??? For real??? She’s really stepping below her standards even if he turns out to be Roberto’s son. Then she would’ve now slept with ALL the ZEPEDA brothers! Like yuck! I must say, she is getting a lot of information on the Zepeda’s this way though, lol….
I thought Nuria had some common sense, but following Chlo around to find his sisters murderer has got to be the DUMBEST move ever! She could’ve lost her dang fool life and would never then be able. To get justice for her own son. She really needs to concentrate on her original plan and stop being miss everything to everybody! She’s totally giving Chalo hope for a chance with her. Like doesn’t Chalo have any BFF’s who’s got his back? That whole escapade got on my left nerve!
Rosa and Rai are acting like children. It seems to be all or nothing with these people and that’s just setting oneself up for failure. Even Nuria talks a good game about other people’s problems, but she won’t listen to anyone else’s good advice. She’s getting on my nerves too———along with Santi. He’s drinking and mooning over her and about to secumb to Lianna’s BS again without giving him or Nuria time to regroup. Let the girl realize that she’s better off with you than without you! Freakin just let her know that if she ever needs you, you’re there and let it go at that. She says that she wants you out of her life PERIOD, yet she continues to work in your store??? Make it make sense Santi!!
Fausto has got to die! That’s it! He’s a psycho, but he makes some genius moves in order to get what he wants. He uses Chelo like a fine tuned instrument and she’s just to weak to stand on her own two feet. It’s disgusting watching him use and abuse her and even more disgusting that has no strength left to fight. She used to be spunkier and tougher and now she’s just an annoying whipped crybaby. Slowly poison him girl! Rat poison works just fine!
Martha and Tania’s reunion really teared me up and I confess to using a tissue or two, lol. Even Braulio seemed moved, but he’s so eff’ed up in the head over Santi always winning that he has no room in his heart for anyone. His jealousy over Santi runs deep and he’s not about to be moved to 3rd place by an adopted sister. He really is a pitiful piece poo and I honestly don’t get why. He’s had everything and nothing is enough. The way he treats and talks to his employees, especially Tigre, really drives home the kind of man he is……..
So do I really think that Chelo will confess anything about Andre’s’ disappearance to Nuria? NAHHHHHH! But I guess we’ll have to wait and see…….
And how come all the baddies in this story use their cellphone cameras to catch folks in awkward positions, and good people, like Nuria for instance, just sees Rosendo and Violeta madly making out and calmly walks away??? Proof girl! When it presents itself, get it!!! At least you’d get that delusional parasite Violeta off your back!!!
Gracias, Dondi.
Oh-no, the quotation for this epi is sad, but surely Ilgaz will survive the shooting.
How in the world does Turgut expect to get out of this? I was actually expecting him to shoot himself, not Ilgaz.
Hoorah for Parla stabbing Eyup. But, girl, stop shouting for Eyup to get up. Get away from him while you can.
Very late to the party. I don't usually have three evenings in a row where I'm out and about. Very glad to just stay home today. Thanks a million, dondi, for two excellent recaps! My head is spinning.
Yes, I did get a hint about Turgut being the one when Ilgaz told him the whole story because Ilgaz thought it was Ozgan who was the bad DA. And of course, his getting the gun was the big reveal. And I need to say that you, dondi, were totally right with your bad vibe about Turgut. I kept thinking of the guy who praised Ilgaz at that long ago presser. What I notice so much lately is how the Turkish novelas totally keep me guessing, while the Spanish language ones almost never fool me.
What was the point of Ceylin's phone going in the water? Nearly always, when something like that happens, it feeds the plot somehow.
Yep, Cinar as a policeman? Be afraid, be very afraid citizens of Istanbul.
The only thing I could think about when they focused on the dumpster was a callback to when Inci was dumped in one way back when.
I never once thought of Haluk being behind the whole plot. I kept thinking Balkan mafia, even though they got most of them. I had actually forgotten all about him. But, of course, he was completely irrational about Burak. He wanted Ilgaz dead even though he knew about the monster his grandson was.
I am remembering, though, when we thought that Yekta and Omer were working together to take control of Haluk's company and giving him not very good defense.
Aylin is frantic can be cut and pasted like Yekta goes on and on.
Yes, these writers continually fool me. There's Ceylin with a bloody knife and Ilgaz shot in the back. But...if Eren was chasing Ceylin saying she'd killed him, why would being shot in the back be the reason? I give up. I seem to always guess wrong!
Thanks again, dondi, for two fantastic recaps.
Thanks for the comments! We are in the final week!
Niecie, I also thought that Turgut was going to kill himself. I guess that was too easy.
novelera, I always thought something was different about Turgut, not necessarily that he was an evil person. And he didn’t go “bad” until he was tested with a loved one, a la Metin and Yuksel. This is a recurring theme in this show. Our characters are constantly tested using family and friends. They’ve bent and broken rules all over the place.
ITA about Ceylin’s phone. Wondering now if that was some sort of product placement. But they usually delete those things from our eps.
“… the dumpster was a callback to when Inci was dumped.” Will Ilgaz be dumped? Looked like a small dumpster. Ilgaz is very tall.
Interesting way to bring Haluk back and tie up that loose end. “Yekta and Omer were working together to take control of Haluk's company and giving him not very good defense.” Omer was already plotting against Yekta at that time. If Haluk was innocent then, he’s not innocent now.
