Okay, first things first, why does everyone need Luci's help so much?? I mean I know she loves the land and that her dad taught her everything she knows, and she got a degree; but everyone else around her has spent their lives working the land!!! They act as if they are halfway through their first year on the land and don't know which way is up without Luci's direction!!! It's understandable I guess with Miguel and Aldolfo grieving, but they aren't saying I don't have the headspace for this, they are saying 'I never would have thought of this without Luci!' Okay....

That said, David is being a massive jerk about Luci helping. I get the whole competition thing to a point, but he's known Miguel for Miguel's whole life and he should have some compassion on him, especially since he's experienced his own loss. Added to that, Dave uses the whole 'we are still in the middle of the crisis' line on Luci while he spent the morning/afternoon (?) at Bobby's soccer game and the evening out on the town with Gracie! He's so worried about the dangers of the plague he's off playing all day, but he is upset that Luci took time to check in Miguel who lost his fiancé like yesterday, the vineyard owner and owner's daughter and is too in danger of the plague. It's a jerk-move, and definitely a non-galan move. These people suck!!!

Speaking of, Marta is OF COURSE is team David and complaining to Ramon that Luci is going to see Miguel and he going to get in trouble with the Patron!!!! Ugh!!! What would it take for her to actually be supportive of her daughter, I wonder? I'm not even mad that Lil is piling her with chores, she deserves it!!!! When she told Sonia she had to clean ALL the bathrooms in the house, I wondered two things: 1) How many bathrooms could that possibly be? Two, maybe three?? 2) Who usually cleans these bathrooms if it's not Martha? Pretty sure Lil and Gracie never have. Couldn't see Fern doing it? Sonia, possibly?? It sounds completely weird, that bathroom duty would be new to Marta.

I remind shocked that Gracie hasn't used her new 'relationship' status with David to throw it in Luci's face!!! She hasn't even mentioned in front of her that she and David are dating. I expected her to plant a kiss on David right in front of Luci the first opportunity she had!!! It's weird that she hasn't.

"VINO" HIGHLIGHTS DISCUSSION:

Darcy: Yesterday's episode was annoying. I'm just waiting for both Gullible Perla & Self-Hating Jackass Gutierrez getting their Karma anvils.

Vino. Excellent observation about Luci, Darcy!--Also those about Marta, David, et al. Sometimes David doesn't seem all that bright. The infestation from Juan's property could re-infect his, but not the one from Alfredo's? (as I believe he later notes to Miguel) Please! He should be happy that Luciana is helping disinfect both his and Alfredo"s vineyards. But as in a lot of the plot difficulties of this novela, I suspect it's mostly a problem of poor writing.

Vino el Amor - mostly a problem of poor writing! :) I like it!

It could also be 'mostly a problem of poor parenting', as we get another example of Marta mothering Luci. Ie. giving her crappy advice to stay away from Miguel and comparing Luci's attempts to comfort/help her best friend to Marta's dumb affair with Fernando! I'm amazed that I can still be disgusted by this woman....sigh.

Leon and Sonia are cute as always!

David continues to be a whinny little brat! There were several people on the original recap who felt that Luci should be fired for helping the competition, I disagree. She's helping the vineyard deal with a shared plague outbreak, not helping them craft the next best wine and going into the nuances that go with that, she's not giving information on their own operations - which Miguel already has of course - or sharing trade secrets. And this is the same vineyard that re-routed their irrigation system to help David when he was in crisis a few weeks ago. It's just plain petty to be upset about Luci helping now, and of course he isn't upset about her helping, he's jealous and stupid... that said, how is it that the award winning 'best wine' vineyard can't figure out how to keep their soil from drying out without Luci's intervention?? I know I keep pointing this out, and the answer is 'it's mostly a problem of poor writing', but it's ridiculous that all of the sudden they can't function without Luci's help...surely they have experienced employees, right? They can't have a whole crew on their 2nd day on the job.

Luci should leave David since he doesn't need her anymore, abandon him to his fate and let Marta stay with him!!!! Sonia and Leon should get out with her!

"VINO" HIGHLIGHTS DISCUSSION:

Darcy & SpanProf: The only thing from yesterday's episode was Sonia & LionCub LOL.

Vino. I totally agree that Luci should leave that insecure idiot David. He spends half their time together berating her, which I for one would find very annoying. There is no point in her investing time in such an untrusting person. And ho hum, yada yada, same old plot lines over and over. I almost dozed off. Btw, how did Graciela get her idea about saving the vineyard's finances, i.e., using lower-priced temp workers, extra shifts, etc. Was she listening in on one of Luci's conversations? Did she look at Luci's computer screen? And Lilian just keeps on upping the severity of her persecution of Marta. Revolting! Especially since Lilian is not actually Marta's boss.

Vino

Spanprof, Gracie got her ideas from Tano, when she went to talk to him and asked how things are going with Fern the conversation moved on to the problems at the vineyard and Tano told Gracie how they could save money. Your question reminded me of something I forgot to say yesterday though, why is Luci David's business manager? Why is she being asked to come up with the cost cutting proposal? She has an agriculture degree not an MBA. It's another aspect of stupidity that she's even expected to be the one with the proposal and again, after running a vineyard all his life, David can't figure out how to cut costs with Luci? Or Gracie??? LOL

I still don't feel sorry for Marta, and not just because I don't like her, but because of precisely what you said, 'Lillian is not actually Marta's boss!' She can end the torment in a second by telling David what Lil is doing, and she doesn't. Heck, she could ignore Lil to begin with, David isn't going to fire her! But she doesn't, she just puts up with it so she can be the long-suffering martyr....the only person I feel sorry for is Sonia who is stuck in the middle.

Vino. Thanks, Darcy! Maybe I actually did doze off during part of yesterday's episode. :) I suppose Luci could have taken a business class or 2 as part of her degree, but you're right, even then David shouldn't need her to make management decisions about the vineyard. And Sonia is going to ne the world's most wonderful daughter-in-law.
