FLASHBACK
Pablo is yelling at Damián asking how can he deny what he was doing when Carmina saw him. (they never said what he was doing) Damián cannot believe that his own father is believing her and not him and warns him that one day, he is going to feel very guilty for trusting somebody he should not have. Carmina takes that as an insult and calls him mentally ill. Damián says if thinking differently than she makes him mentally ill, then, she can call him that. Next, Carmina demands that Pedro choose on the spot between Damián and her and Pablito. Pablo tells Damián to go not to his room but to get out of his house. He doesn't want to see him again.
Pablo thinks he sees Damián, but the boy isn't his son. Pedrito is getting better with his treatments. Nancy calls Manuela's number as a stranger saying she needs her help. Manuela tells her she cannot call her on her personal number but needs to contact her at the center. Carmina is happy with that info. She may need it in the future. Carmina still wants to get back with Pablo. Pablo has nothing for her except divorce papers.
Amanda visits with Yaneli. She is sorry for how things turned out. Yaneli is not convinced. Amanda tells Yaneli that the job at the pet shop tis hers any time she wants to come back.
Tamara is having problems with a husband who is just like her father.
Vicky, the lawyer at the center, tells Manuela that Genaro has said nothing about about Dulce. Vicky is going to do her best that Genaro doesn't get railroaded with her disappearance but then it turns out that the blood in Dulce's apartment is proven to be Genaro's through a DNA test. It looks like Genaro is on the fast track to a trial and conviction. Yaneli is overwhelmed with guilt and concern for her brother and goes to see him in jail. He is insulted that she would ever think that he were guilty. He has had it with her and tells her she better work real hard to impress her parents up in heaven because he doesn't care about what she does anymore. He ends the visit ASAP.
Julieta is still trying to get her parents back together. Leandro shows Manuela proof that he is getting divorced. She doesn't care. She is still not interested. Julieta asks her father for a boob job, a nose job, and a butt job. He turns her down. She says he is beginning to sound like her mother. He said she could have whatever she wanted and now is turning her down.
Julieta's quince is being planned by Manuela's family and we see the uncles working at the venue. Manuela is there, too, as well as Leandro who has come by to "lend a hand". It seems like the only "hand" he is going to lend is paying off a waiter to make some alcohol is illegally available to the kids at the party.
Paloma and Franco work together on the Biogene Lab campaign. They are getting along much better but definitely think differently about things. He is going to do the presentation until the rep from Biogene Lab is impressed that Paloma worked on the presentation because of her reputation. Paloma ends up doing the presentation and their project ends up being one of the selected campaigns. Now they need to polish the campaign. He convinces the boss to continue to hire Paloma as an outside independent contractor. it turns out that the boss doesn't wan't to see Paloma in the office any more than she wants to be there with him. Paloma and Franco also kiss.
The rep from Biogene Lab mentioned Renata Sánchez (Angelique Boyer) from "Vencer el pasado."
I was left wondering what could have Damián have been accused of that was so bad that Pedro threw him out at fifteen. Damián definitely had a voice of his own which probably drove carmina crazy.
It seems that the only adult males who aren't tainted by being machistas or just plain stupid are the uncles and Enrique.
We begin with a repeat of Friday’s ending captured courtesy of Weirdo’s recap. Victoria and Leo are finishing up their conversation, Leo making the egregious mistake of saying Sara is a mother to Nico. Victoria grits her teeth and disputes this, saying Sara is definitely not a mother to Nico, she doesn’t love him like her own child. His only mother was Emilia. She stares stonily and leaves. Leo muses to himself wondering “why doesn’t she tell me she’s her) shockingly referring to Victoria and Emilia!
The miners are sitting outside eating, the “plan” in full swing. Marijo comes out with a tray of food, Gael looks away and she sits elsewhere.
A peeved Roberta asks Danilo what is the meaning of this fiesta! Danilo states it’s not a fiesta. His explanations are in vain, she is contemptuous and stalks off as he smiles. Sebas comes up asking what happened.
Sara arrives at her parents, venturing on her mother’s side of the yellow police tape. They verbally spar immediately and Sara tells her mother she is loco and stands on the other side. “Sarita mi amor “Gigi tries to reason with her but she leaves, Gigi’s face crumbling in disappointment muttering about Addled.
Danilo goes to Lolita’s desk, flourishing the biggest yellow rose I’ve ever seen. He is trying to sweettalk her for information about Sara but is stopped in his tracks by Leo.
Victoria is at Nico’s school and as he emerges, she hugs him. She gives him his cell phone after they share a warm embrace. He closes his eyes; I believe he says her perfume reminds him of his mother. Sara comes up to ruin the moment.
Danilo tries to talk his way out of the awkward situation. I think the wheels in Leo’s dense brain may finally be starting to turn.
Victoria tells Sara she returned Nico’s cell. I believe she says to Sara something like she’s not bothering her is she? Nico asks Sara if Victoria can come to his house and actually calls Sara “mother”. Sara plays the moment to the hilt, putting her arms around Nico and hugging him. Emilia’s face reflects her sheer devastation.
I think Marijo sat with the miner that Patricio bribed for information (?) He is trying hard to ooze charm, flattering her. Gael is watching and Tigre is watching Gael.
Diana
Victoria and Patricio are watching Aleida talking with the miners, Roberta’s face looking pinched and pained as always. Roberta seems concerned that Victoria is becoming popular; even Ramiro is sitting down eating. Roberta seethes with resentment and jealousy.
Cayetana is being her usual annoying self with Joaquina, asking for info on Gael. He is in love with Marijo Joaquina tells her, not something Cayetana wants to hear.
After Marijo leaves the table, Gael goes after her and starts kissing her much to the consternation of the other miner who stands there in anger, shaking his head.
A pivotal, cringeworthy scene ensues between Nico and Sara. He smiles telling her he likes Victoria. With that, Sara starts fake, ugly crying. What is it he asks concernedly. It’s your father she lies. What about my father? Leo is going to divorce me because of Victoria!
Leo and Sebas have a conversation, centering on Victoria. Victoria is special Leo allows to which Sebas agrees but reminds Leo he is married!
Emilia is distraught about what transpired with Nico and Sara and complains to Aleida. Aleida seems to sense she is feeling something for Leo but listens carefully to her friend and shakes her head in support and sympathy.
Sara continues her lies to a confused, upset Nico, then thanking her “son” for his support.
Miriam is taking Andres home when he asks who the man is standing in the shadows watching them. She thinks back to Addled’s threats and hurries her son inside.
There is a strange gathering of Addled and a few of his cronies. He introduces Sara and says she is running for president of the municipality. I believe one of the men present is insulting about women and mentions Gigi specifically. Sara stands up, hits the table, and tells them off. They applaud.
The fearsome foursome, Victoria, Aleida, Sebas and Danilo are in Victoria’s office. She has a favor, something about her father. It will be complicated was the comment. Just then, Nico calls Victoria. How are you she asks, her eyes shining. He wants her to come to his house. Of course she smiles and leaves the room, still talking. Sebas smiles…
Oh noes, Fidel is giving Roberta a massage in bed. I never understand anything that transpires in any scene Fidel is in so can’t fill in here.
Diana
Leo and Sara meet at a restaurant, because of course they always have the most intimate important conversations in public. She tells him about her candidacy but Leo is not jumping for joy, concerned about the family. Trust me she says as she kisses him. Talk about timing! At that moment, Addled comes in with several photographers in tow. Sara sort of pulls Leo out of his seat and the two kiss for the cameras.
Roberta isn’t here Joaquina pleasantly tells Victoria when she arrives. An unsmiling Nico greets her. “Nico” Victoria says, trying to take his face in her hands. He backs up and she asks what is wrong.
“Enough pictures” Leo asks as bulbs continue to flash. Addled laughs as they leave. He wants everything put on the internet ASAP. The henchman spying on Miriam calls Addled and fills him in.
Nico starts to cry as Victoria softly tells him she cares about him but he accuses her of trying to break up his family. “Te odio” he blurts out. “Nico” she says in barely a whisper.
Leo and Sara are outside arguing…heaven forbid they ever discuss their problems inside…
There were several scenes with Jenny at her doctor’s. I thought at first she told him she had an abortion but then whatever “process” they were discussing in the next scene was deemed to be “difficult” by the doctor. If anyone can fill in, kindly do so.
Back to the agonizing scene with Nico and Emilia. She says she isn’t guilty; his accusations aren’t true. It is noted that Sara is the mother of Romina. He walks over and hugs her.
Sebas comes home calling “Miriam” then “Andres” but alas, there is no response. Radar on high alert, he immediately calls her. Miriam watches the phone ring and finally picks it up. She asks him to forgive her. He looks (justifiably) alarmed. She finally thanks him for everything and hangs up. Sebas realizes the gravity of the situation and calls Orlando telling him Miriam and Andres are gone. “Dios mio” he says.
Nico breaks away from the hug saying “largate”. In order to quell her son’s anguish, Victoria promises Nico she won’t interfere in his parents’ relationship. “Bette por favor.” Nico asks.
“You are a good person Nico” Victoria says trying to control her tears as a somewhat confused Joaquina comes in.. “Con permiso” a devastated Victoria manages to get out.
Dan and Aleida are outside in the car waiting for Victoria. She tells then what happened and says she suspects that Roberta or Sara are to blame. At this, Danilo’s face reflects his concern and upset.
Diana
Another marvelous recap Jarifa!
“I was left wondering what could have Damián have been accused of that was so bad that Pablo threw him out at fifteen” echoed my feelings exactly. That said, regardless, Pablo telling his son he never wanted to see him again was shocking and cruel. It is almost impossible to reconcile that those words were uttered by the man we now see before us.
Am I a bad person for not feeling terribly sorry for Genaro? I do think he’s innocent of abducting Dulce but I can’t forget how he manhandled her in the flashback, so much hate and anger. I don’t want him railroaded for murder but he definitely needs anger management. I wonder when the prodigal brother will return and if he will be of any help to Yaneli.
I’m not surprised Julieta asked her father for that array of plastic surgery. I am surprised he said no. So, spiking the punch at the party? He is sinking lower in each successive episode.
I’m sure Carmina will find some way to stop the divorce proceedings. I really hope Damian is still alive.
Amanda’s apartment is beautiful!
Diana
Diana: Howdy from the Alamo City. Thank you very much for your recap of last night's episode.
So we're going to the Fearsome Foursome: Emilia/Victoria, Adelia, Danillo & Sebastian.
I see Nico has been manipulated & brainwashed by Psycho Roberta & Crazy Whacky Blonde Sara again OMG! Now he hates Victoria OMG!
Sounds like Leo will be the last figuring out that Danillo is Romina's father & I'm looking forward to seeing the downfall of Crazy Whacky Blonde Sara since this Telenovela is supposed to have 107 episodes.
Thanks Steve!
Yes, poor Nico has been subjected to much manipulation. The only comfort is we know he will find out the truth eventually.
I think Sara is going to have to do something drastic (e.g. kidney donation) to have her redeemed although many characters have been who have done much worse than she.
Getting ready for company so look forward to checking back later this afternoon.
Appreciate your good wishes yesterday Jarifa and Susan.
Weirdo, we did lose internet on and off yesterday but thankfully, it worked last night. Several downed trees in my neighborhood but we were lucky to escape with just branches and a fence down.
I will put something up for tonight.
Have a good day all.
Diana
Great job, Diana.
I think Roberta and Fidel were discussing the fact that Sara was having an affair with someone. They need to find out who that person is. The massage btw is needed because sSara's affair is causing Roberta a lot of stress. Fidel thinks the guy might have been planted by their rivals.
Jenifer indeed had told the doctor about having an abortion. The doctor told her clandestined abortions are dangerous and are 4th reason of maternal deaths in Mexico. He promises not to tell anyone what she did (how could he even do that?). They are going to carry out some tests to see what her state of health is. I do wonder how it would be possible not to involve Orlando, given that it's not necessarily Jen's fault she can't get pregnant. Hasn't she studied biology?
Emilia had asked the other two to help her find a specialist for her father because she wants him to walk again.
I hope they don't redeem Sara because she is worse and worse. Or is being unhappy your plans didn't meet your expectations now a reason why the viewers should feel sorry for her? Nico's behaviour is a bit strange to me. I suppose he wants a mother, but he and Sara never got along so it's odd her immediate change was enough to convince him she was sincere. Besides, even if they got divorced, Nico wouldn't lose Leo as Leo would take Nico to live with him. Nico barely knew Sara and didn't seem to have developed a close relationship with her so I can't believe she manipulated him so easily.
Is Miriam leaving Seb supposed to be her redemption? It's not much of a redemption as Seb will figure out pretty soon who's behind it. What I do fear is that he'll put his life in danger to protect her. He even refers to Andres as'my son.'
If Leo honestly thinks Sara loves Nico as her son, he must have been living in a differentplanet. And if he does know the truth, why say what he knows is a lie to Victoria? I can't stand liars. And he believes Sara. After all this, it doesn't matter to me if he recognises Emilia or not. It wouldn't even matter if he had recognised her right away. That doesn't mean much if he continues being so...obtuse and passive.
Roberta is determined to make the miners dislike Victoria. She wants the guy they bribed to watch her.
Diana , thank you for providing us with every maddening moment .
Waterlily, thanks for the additional info.
I am pretty disgusted with everyone except Sebas at this point. It looks like Miriam is going to win the big prize by moving away from Seb to protect him from Addled . bah humbug .
That leaves donothing galan for the leading lady . Wow . What a surprise .
The only folks getting any loving are Rob and Fidel . This seems to be an incentive to choose the dark side . QTH? Susan
Jarifa, thank you for that fine recap of all the Male toxicity boiling and bubbling in this show. I am so grateful that none of these men are in my orbit .
Yikes, A girl that young asking for plastic surgery is tragic. Maybe a sign of the times with girls so concerned with outward appearances .
I haven't seen Ingrid ( Carmen) in a long time . I am trying to remember if she usually played good girls or bad ones.
I wonder if Carmen lied and told a Pablo that his son was using drugs. Susan
Gracias, Jarifa. I've had a great afternoon break with your recap.
After Genaro ran off Yaneli, he broke down in tears. What in blazes is he hiding?
I've never noticed before, but a wall of Manuela's sitting room is adorned with old movies posters of a beautiful actress who looks like young Helen Rojo (Manuela's mom).
With his combed-back hair and straight bushy mustache, Tamara's husband looks like one of the Mario Brothers.
Pablo chose Carmina over his bespectacled, braces-wearing teen? Whatever Damián did or didn't do, he needed help and not to be kicked out.
Franco kissing Paloma seems too soon to me.
Leandro is going to give the kids alcohol to put Manuela in jeopardy? Whoa, he's bad.
Thank you for your kind words Waterlily. As always, you have added so very much!! I so appreciate your wise, intuitive comments.
"Is Miriam leaving Seb supposed to be her redemption? It's not much of a redemption as Seb will figure out pretty soon who's behind it. What I do fear is that he'll put his life in danger to protect her. He even refers to Andres as'my son.'" This is such an important point Waterlily. There is no doubt Sebas loves Andres so much! He would do anything for him.
Roberta has now turned her evil eye on finding out Sara's lover's identity. Now that she has his picture (with Sara) it shouldn't take long as Danilo has been out and about amidst the miners. Danilo needs to be very careful - glibness alone will not save him from Roberta's wrath.
"he (the doctor) promises not to tell anyone what she did (how could he even do that?)". Good question; my guess is that I doubt Mexico has HIPPA laws.
Any adult abusing a child's affections and manipulating them are pond scum to me. Sara crossed so many lines with her lying to Nico.
Diana
Thank you so much Susan!
"That leaves donothing galan for the leading lady . Wow . What a surprise" had me nodding in agreement.
Do you remember when there was actually tender love scenes and true, unadulterated love? So sorely lacking now...
Diana
Gracias, Jarifa.
I can't imagine what Damian did but the writers better pay off on this one.
Brat's birthday demand for plastic surgery is very likely coming from social media influence. Leandro would know that while there is no law against it being done at all (I looked it up), he would know that Manuela's consent would be required and that she is highly unlikely to give it. I would bet on her saying No Way.
Obregon obviously feels threatened by Paloma But I am more concerned at what plans her parents m ight concoct against Franco (whom I think might be an Aspergers case since he seems limited in his to read emotion.
Carmina could be the ultimate cause of Damian's disappearance. She obviously never cared about him which makes her determination to keep her claws into Pablo so much worse.
That Tamara married a man like her father is not too surprising; he's a devil she already knows.
Thanks, everyone for the fascinating comments bringing up things I never thought about.
Diana, thanks. "Amanda’s apartment is beautiful!" I never even probably looked at the apartment I was so busy writing. I appreciate you bringing up the "finer" aspects of the settings and costuming.
Susan, "I wonder if Carmen lied and told a Pablo that his son was using drugs." That certainly seems like possibility.
Niecie, "With his combed-back hair and straight bushy mustache, Tamara's husband looks like one of the Mario Brothers." Exactly. LOL There is definitely something cartoonish about his styling. Looks like they struck out, to me anyway, on that one.
Urban, "Obregon obviously feels threatened by Paloma But I am more concerned at what plans her parents m ight concoct against Franco (whom I think might be an Aspergers case since he seems limited in his to read emotion." That is an interesting possibility.
Thanks, Diana and Waterlily.
Poor Nico will need a shrink when this tale ends. He knows Sara doesn't love him and he must be becoming aware that Roberta doesn't either. He is in survival mode.
My gut is telling me that the actors playing Gael and his rival will be future rivals as they mature into getting top billing.
Based on Nico's other senses he should soon realize that "Victoria" is his mother.
Urban, yes, Nico is being used and abused by his stepmother and grandmother. Too much for anyone, let alone a vulnerable child.
"Based on Nico's other sences he should soon realize that "Victoria" is his mother". Yes, fingers crossed.
Diana
More questions but no answers.
Paloma and Franco are definitely attracted to each other but he will pull back insisting that they only have a work relationship. This kisses were a mistake. Paloma agrees. Mystery: we see Franco at home and an alarm on his phone goes off. He goes to take a medication for what we know not. Is he dying some dreaded disease?
Paloma's parents are still sitting and doing nothing. They want her to rent a storage space for their stuff. She says she doesn't have the money for that. She suggests they sell their stuff or she will.
Carmina is not going down without a fight for her marriage. Pablo is not interested. Pablito tells his father he doesn't care if they get divorced as long as they are happy.
El Chiro tells Pablo that El Muñeca died from a crystal meth overdose and that is why the rehab center he and Damián were at was closed down. He shows Pablo a news article on the internet to prove his info is correct so he can get his $$. .
Pablo tells Manuela the truth about throwing Damián out of his house and his regret. He tells her that he is interested in her. He loves her. She "supposedly" doesn't have the time for a relationship. Leandro tells a detective that he wants to knew all about the man that Manuela is interested in.
Leandro's plot to get Manuela blamed for serving alcohol at the brat's quince, is successful. She is perfectly framed! The kiids get drunk and everyone, including the brat, blames Manuela. Manuela takes full responsibility for what happened and finding out how it happened.
The brat is into a guy she communicates with online via an emoji. He is Kiro and was supposed to come to her quince but texted her that he couldn't come. Mystery: Who is Kiro? Some 50 year old sexual deviant? Your guess is as good as mine.
The brat plays sick and has the school call Leandro to come pick her up. He takes her out shopping for new outfits. She feels much better. When Manuela comes to pick her up, the brat informs her that she is not going anywhere. She is staying to live with her father at his apartment.
Yaneli comes on to her teacher who is blocking her from reclaiming her scholarship. He isn't interested until he finds out that she is 18. Then, he shows up at her door with a six pack telling her that he loves how she says "profe." It looks like Yaneli is getting more than she bargained for.
Enrique and Amanda run into Leandro. Leandro cannot believe that a woman of his mother's age would be interetsed in havng a relationship. Enrique has Amanda over to meet his two grown children. They look at her like she is an alien. Mystery: Why would Amanda or Enrique care about what their adult children think?
Victoria, clearly upset, emerges from Roberta’s. Seeing her face, Danilo urges her to be calm. She relates what happened with Nico and suspects Roberta or Sara are to blame. Danilo clearly blanches, his face mirroring his concern and upset.
Addled giggles like a schoolgirl talking to Fidel, (well not exactly), telling him about the photos of Leo and Sara kissing. Fidel (who never changes expression) repeats the joyous news to Victoria. He then changes tactics. He wants to present Roberta to the world as his wife. Jutting her jaw out wearing a pasted smile that doesn’t quite reach her eyes, Victoria makes it clear her sole concern and interest is money and power. He stares as she imperiously walks to the door and leaves.
Orlando calls Ezequiel to inquire about Miriam but Ezequiel’s attention is elsewhere, having a woman on his lap who is all over him like a cheap suit.
Emilia decides to torture herself by looking at pictures of Nico as a baby and his little outfits. An understanding Aleida looks on sympathetically. Emilia says she was so happy when she found out she was pregnant. Uh oh, then the tiny baby shoes come out.
Joaquina talks to Nico who has not touched his sammie or chocolate milk. She wants him to tell her what happened with Victoria. He tells her about his fears that his family is going to be fractured as Leo is going to divorce Sara because of Victoria. She softly murmurs and puts his meal on a tray.
Orlando and Jenny talk about Sebas’ problem with Miriam. She tells him she had hired Miriam to work at the restaurant. He smiles sweetly and kisses her hand. He nestles beside her, his amorous intent obvious but she rejects him and gets up. He looks (understandably) upset.
Leo, in pajamas and undershirt flashes back to a young Leo and Emilia then back to present day remembering a recent hug from Romina. He murmurs and is clearly concerned about his children.
Diana
Gael and Zaira chat as a Prime delivery man walks by (who btw is a major sponsor of tonight’s epi) 😊. Marijo is there looking on longingly. She does come over and she and Gael quickly argue but end up in a tight lip lock.
Sebas talks to a policewoman about Miriam but he leaves unsatisfied as she stares after him looking a bit guilty.
Jenny is on the doctor’s table and is receiving what appears to be an ultrasound.
Teresa is serving dinner to Gigi and Addled, sitting next to each other at the dining room table, separated by the yellow police tape. Poor Teresa has to relay messages back and forth between the two as they won’t speak directly to each other. Then they start yelling at each other until Teresa has had enough. Addled seems to be trying to sweet talk her a bit as they lean forward toward each other. Then, Sebas arrives and confronts Addled about Miriam.
Cayetana walks up to Gael and Marijo, sarcastically asking if she is interrupting. Cayetana tries to claim ownership and Marijo walks off. Cayetana puts on a show of petulance and flounces off next. Gael is left frustrated.
Joaquina talks with Leo about Nico, obviously concerned. He tells her about Addled wanting Sara to run for the municipality presidency. She tells him Nico is his son and a good boy. Sara is of course mentioned and then Victoria. He decides to search for his son and talk with him.
Roberta taunts Sara again with the photo of her kissing Danilo. You know I love Leo Sara says and at that moment, Victoria arrives. She is ready for bear, determined to confront them for being responsible for getting her in trouble with Nico.
Gigi gets up and stands next to Sebas as Addled and Sebas lock horns. Sebas wants to know about Miriam. Addled throws Sebas out and in response, Gigi folds her arms and looks at him expectantly. Addled calls Gigi a traitor but she holds her own until he lunges at her holding her by the throat. She is clearly shaken, holding onto a chair. Addled is clearly a fool but it is glaringly apparent he is also a very dangerous one! Gigi needs to be very, very careful.
Victoria lights into Sara about Nico. Although Sara is trying to hold her own, Roberta intercedes and asks Sara to leave. If someone could kindly fill in what was said, it would be greatly appreciated.
Playing outside in the yard, Nico tries to cheer Romi up. Leo comes over and she runs to his arms “papi”!! Leo takes the ball and they start playing. Joaquina is happy to see them having fun. Leo and the children are on the ground smiling and Inez comes up to take Romi. Nico asks Leo what is going on with the divorce, and Victoria. Leo admits to problems. Leo hugs him comfortingly.
Diana
Danilo shows up to haunt Sara again at her office. “Sara” he murmurs nuzzling her neck. She looks like she is melting. She is the love of his life he murmurs. His love assault is fierce and passionate kissing ensues. She breaks away and slaps him, much to his delight. She has just broken away from his embrace when Victoria shows up at the door. Danilo makes another uncomfortable getaway. Victoria warns Sara for talking badly about her to Nico and threatens her not to do it again.
The doctor tells Jenny she is pregnant! I will be a mama a teary Jenny repeats, eyes shining, lip quivering with joy. Congratulations he affirms! Thank you God she cries.
Emilia prays to her padrino as Leo comes up behind her. Leo tells her how he feels saying it’s not easy. She speaks the obvious, he is married and has a family. I believe he mentions something about Emilia, his heart.
Gael is the love of my life a lovelorn Marijo admits, sitting alone on a log cooling her legs in the water. She takes off her clothes for a swim and Cayetana appears and steals her clothes.
I was able to understand little of Leo and Victoria’s conversation other than Mauricio and something about jail were discussed. I do believe she asked why he married Sara and he tells her Emilia was dead and Sara was pregnant with his child. Victoria listens, staring at him hard eyed.
Any scene between Patricio and Roberta is fraught with anger and angst. Victoria puts a vial on her desk. If I were a betting woman, I would say it is something more powerful than eye drops. I can only speculate that she wants to harm/poison someone. He doesn’t want to do it but she insists. As he is the slimiest of weasels, in the end he agrees.
As murmurings of how impossible things are, Leo moves in and starts passionately kissing Victoria. And there we fade to black.
Diana
Jarifa, an outstanding job as always.
Mysteries are indeed deepening; yes, what on earth is wrong with Franco?
Leandro is getting so low he will soon be crawling on his belly. How is Manuela ever going to be able to prove she had nothing to do with spiking the drinks? What is Leandro’s end game? Does he think he is going to get Manuela with these tactics or is he just trying to get Julieta away from her? He was so cruel to his mother denigrating her relationship with Enrique. He is his father’s son isn’t he? Uh oh, I’m adding to the questions rather than providing any answers.
I didn’t see several scenes (I didn’t think I dozed off?) including the one where Julieta told Manuela she wants to stay with Leandro. No surprise there. I would want to stay with the parent who spoils me rotten and lets me do whatever I want.
“Who is Kiro? Some 50 year old sexual deviant?” I wouldn’t be surprised Jarifa. Whoever it is, it’s not good…
Also didn’t see Yaneli’s professor showing up with beer. How classy. I haven’t liked him at all and like him less now.
Pink and white seem to be Carmina’s primary and only colors.
Diana
Great job, Diana. I laughed out loud when you mentioned the sponsor.
Roberta says that desperation turns some people into idiots. Victoria hopes this is the last time something like that happens. She says that if Sara comes into the mine, their society is over. Roberta knows this game and has a counterargument: If you want Sara out, I'll give you a list of people you have to throw out or our society is over. Victoria tries to say her people are necessary but Roberta says Sara is necessary too because she needs 'her people' in the mine. Two goats on a bridge:my people aren't leaving! Mine either! Roberta says there's no point arguing about something that can be resolved and asks Victoria to leave Sara 'in her hands'. Victoria says'fine, but I don't want her near me.' Roberta says to herself that here everyone does what she says and she'll show this to Victoria.
Victoria asks Leo why he betrayed Emilia. And we are again on this amusement park ride...Or is it a cricket match? Anyway, Victoria says she knows that Leo was with Sara when E was still alive. Leo, who sounds like a broken record, says he wanted to be with her but E was crazy and aggressive. Interesting reasoning, I have to say. Victoria asks if this justifies putting her in that hospital. Leo, who somehow still thinks he did the right thing and that his actions are beyond reproach, says 'oh it was this or prison, Victoria.' V says prison, or even death, would have been better. Leo says he thought it would have been easier toget her out of there. Victoria says 'you wanted to believe this, but still you maintained your relationship with Sara. You married her.' Leo gives her the whole 'she was expecting my child...I thought having a family would heal me' But then he spins things around and uses this to his advantage by saying Victoria had come to heal his heart and how now he is more alive than ever. Victoria says he has a family and isn't going to lose it. Leo says he knows they can't be together and that he doesn't want to hurt his kids. Victoria asks if he really loves Nico as his son. Leo says he and Nico 'chose each other'. Victria admits to feeling something for Leo since the first day she saw him, but she also says their feelings shouldn't hurt Leo's kids. I'm resentful I had to type this because Leo's words are always empty. Doesn't it occur to Victoria she wouldn't even have to ask Leo if he loves Nico as his own if Leo's actions had made it obvious? I have no such questions when I see Sebas with Nico. Leo did take Nico to live with him, but he barely spends time with his kids. Joaquina has to tell him what's going on and she is the one comforting Nico. I don't understand what the point of Emilia's question was.
Joaquina tells Leo he isn't Sara's priority when Leo comments he knows now Sara won't be able to make him happy. However, he thinks Sara loves him 'in her own way'. What way is that I wonder? he says he won't be part of Sara's political game. But he seems to have changed his mind after Nico asks him to stay with Sara. Why can't Leo explain things to him?
Roberta gave Patrichio 'special seasoning' to add to the food the miners are given.
I was wondering when we'll see 'the lunge'. I was pretty sure Addled would go for her throat.
How is it that Orlando thinks Ezequiel would go to look for Miriam when she has only been gone for a few hours? I mean, aren't kids the only ones whom the police searches for right way? It was just so odd to see him demanding Ezequiel do something that most probably would have been considered a special favour and something you would only get if you knew 'the right people.'
Sara actually tells Danilo what she feels isn't important because her daughter is what's important because she needs a father. Danilo seems to have guessed Sara is affraid of leaving Leo. He says he could love her daughter and that she needs to see people who love each other together because she needs to learn by example. . It's irritating that Sara always uses Romina as an excuse. At least Roberta is usually openly horrible.
Diana, I'm glad you're well.
Diana and Waterlily, you guys rock! Thanks a lot for the recap and additional information!
I can't stand Leo anymore. I don't think anything he does will redeem him at this point. Putting Emilia, the crazy deranged psychopath, according to him, in the mental hospital because "it would have been easier to get her out"? And how was he trying to get her out, exactly? Emilia, I have a sincere question: how on EARTH are you still in love with him after the bullcrap he says and does?
Emilia was oh so happy when she found out she got pregnant? Really? She was freaking raped! How could she be so excited about the baby from the get go when it was a product of rape? I'm not saying she should have hated the kid, but all this sunshine and rainbows from the start is unrealistic.
Marijó and Cayetana act like 6 year olds. I'll be interested in them when they grow up.
I laughed at the sponsor part, Diana. LOL!
ITA with Waterlily about Sara and Roberta. I prefer Rob to Sara. I can't stand Sara victimising herself all the time.
I can do two recaps this week. I'll definitely do Friday and either today's or tomorrow's. I'd rather tomorrow's, but if Diana prefers it, I'll do today's.
Weirdo: Had no idea Emilia was violently raped. But who's Nico's biological father 🤔 ?
Diana: Awesome job with the recap of last night's episode. Wake me up when the Karma anvil hits Crazy Whacky Blonde Sara & Danillo soon.
Diana and water lily, thank you so much for that detailed account of all the trouble bubbling .
Are we on a ferris wheel now going around and around ? Vic's lines, Leo's lines . Rob's lines...etc.
Poor Seb seems to be headed straight for Miriam in order to keep her son with him .
Well,it appears that Jenny's arc has been completed and reformed Jen is getting her wish for baby . I guess she , Orlando, and baby makes three are headed toward a happy ending once Fidel gets his anvil and Aleida reveals to the Big O that she is his mother.
Dan , why Sara ? Two bunny hops , and she is the love of your life. Magic. Susan
Thank you for filling in all that I didn't understand Waterlily! An excellent job as always.
Waterlily, your wisdom shone with "Doesn't it occur to Victoria she wouldn't even have to ask Leo if he loves Nico as his own if Leo's actions had made it obvious? I have no such questions when I see Sebas with Nico". So, so true!!
I so appreciate your translating the very pivotal conversation between Victoria and Leo where she says prison or death would have been preferable to the manicomio. Of course you are exactly right in that none of Leo's weak arguments seem to have any merit.
"Two goats on a bridge:my people aren't leaving! Mine either!" Love it Waterlily!
I really appreciated "He says he could love her daughter and that she needs to see people who love each other together because she needs to learn by example". Poor delusional Danilo! I like him a lot though and keep wondering what is going to happen to him.
Diana
Weirdo, don't be this nice. It's bad for my ego!
I had the same question for Emilia. She hasn't answered yet. They made Leo impossible to tolerate, let alone like him.
I was pissed off about the 'happy I'll have a kid' bit too. They seem to be pushing the 'abortion is bad' angle because even though in the last episode the doctor told Jen abortions in shady hospitals are bad, the scene made it seem they aren'tin favour of abortions in general. This whole plot of Jen not being able to get pregnant screams 'see what happens when you do things like that?' There's nothing about how desperate she must have felt. Nope. Let's focus on the ' women do this and end up dying so be good' angle.
I saw in the preview we're getting some more of Miriam's complaints to poor Seb. If he suddenly realises he is in love, I will throw something at the wall for sure.
Weirdo, thank you for your kind words.
Your comment on Leo regarding Emilia that "it would have been easier to get her out"? And how was he trying to get her out, exactly? Emilia, I have a sincere question: how on EARTH are you still in love with him after the bullcrap he says and does?" was perfectly phrased.
I agree with you in not being able to believe that Leo and Emilia will be together in the end. Too much has happened and the bottom line is that he is not worthy. All he seems to be doing is staring, deeply in thought. He won't leave Sara yet feels free to profess his love and affection to Victoria.
Speaking of, I'm confused. The other night it seems he knew Victoria IS Emilia. He didn't seem to think so last night or am I wrong?
Weirdo, I will do tonight. If you could do Thursday and Friday, that would be great.
Diana
As I suspected last night when there was no flashback, Univision's episode #24 was a combo platter of the "original" episodes 24 and 25. That being said, I will be using the Univision numbering system in referring to the episodes.
Here is the important info that was cut. In the flashback at the beginning of the episode, Paloma's parents were meeting with Walter and informing him that he would NOT be marrying their daughter let alone taking her out of Mexico.
Thanks Jarifa...
I wondered why I missed several scenes and the hacking would explain it. They started slicing and dicing early this time didn't they?
So, you were right all along! Paloma's parents sabotaged her relationship with Walter. Did they also ruin her first attempt at marriage at the church??!! She needs to "divorce" them from her life.
Diana
Thanks, Jarifa, that was a great mid morning read. When Leandro payed the waiter to give the kids alcohol I had no idea why he did it. It seems like he timed his arrival perfectly to be able to accuse Manuela with his mother as a witness. He’s going to use Julieta to get Manuela. I hope Manuela can refuse. Leandro has stooped to a new low. Or maybe he just wants all his kids and neither of the moms! He was starting to hint to his sons about their mother. I wish the mothers would join forces, maybe they will.
So Amanda and Enrique have an uphill battle because of their kids! And poor Yaneli is in over her head. I hope someone shows up to help her out of this!
Liz
Diana, it took a little lucky research this morning since I only saw what was on Univision last night. Apart from that omission, I appreciated Univision’s edit. I don’t know how much more I could take of the whiny brat and her slimy father or of the drunken quince, or of anything really. I am ready for them to pick up the pace already and if the old slice and dice is the answer, I am on board.
“Leandro is so low he will soon be crawling on his belly.” Is a keeper! Now the question is will Manuela move in to Leandro’s to be close to the brat. I so hope she doesn’t cave. I was disappointed that Yaneli decided that coming on to her teacher could solve her problem but desperation can lead people to desperate actions. She is one of the few I still like.
Liz, "And poor Yaneli is in over her head. I hope someone shows up to help her out of this!" Me, too. I do not think she actually realized what could happen after her initial invite. " I wish the mothers would join forces, maybe they will." Love it! Would that not be wonderful? Manuela and Lorena actively plotting against Leandro. That would perk up the plot!
Thanks, Diana, I enjoyed your recap. I spent a good part of the evening wondering how Victoria/Emilia could have Nico’s baby things. I guess they were still in her original house.
Loved the maid ducking under the tape! I think I would have reached over it!
Addled scared me and Gigi. He looked like he could kill her. I know he’s a slime but never figured he’d go for murder.
So Roberta doesn’t like them serving food to the miners so she figures she’ll poison the food, they’ll all get sick and they’ll be no more food.
Fidel wanting to marry her is crazy, he knows she killed hubby #2.
I’m glad Jenny is pregnant. Orlando deserves some happiness
Liz
Well, I made a comment awhile ago , but it seems to have evaporated .
Diana and waterlily, thank you for teaming up to bring us all the scheming and dreaming .
Jenny is getting her wish to have a baby , so she appears to be on the road to redemption and a HEA with Orlando and bebe. Do we know who the father of the aborted bebe was ...Mauricio? Orlando?
I liked young Gael and Marijo, but the older G and M just annoy and frustrate me . Do not care . They act less mature than their younger selves .Basta.
Oh, Leo, I had such high hopes for you at the start ...now, all you do is look stricken and love sick . Not an attractive look for the galan. Do something positive . Susan
Gracias, Jarifa. "More questions but no answers." -- Truly.
"Who is Kiro? Some 50 year old sexual deviant?" - Yes, yes, yes.
Ya'll called it about Paloma's parents running away her fiances. Let's see how Franco handles them.
"Leandro is so low he will soon be crawling on his belly.” -- Diana, lol.
Leandro is awful, but I'm actually hoping the brat moves in with him so I can see how this plays out with his wife and sons.
No question, Dulce is in over her head.
Jarifa, I am also relieved to miss any/more of Julieta's scenes. She is headache inducing! :)
I was sorry to have missed the scene of Yaneli and her teacher though but grateful you included it as that is likely important to the storyline.
Leandro and Julieta are going to either get along famously or end up bickering and disillusioned. I vote the former. For a while. Manuela is going to be (rightfully) distraught when she hears of the new living arrangements. And yes, how will Leona react? I don't think Leandro's (oldest?) son is too crazy about his father but...
Diana
Thanks so much Liz!
"Addled scared me and Gigi. He looked like he could kill her" mirrored that scene exactly! It's always startling when we see a very dark side to someone who seems pathetic but not dangerous. Now, we know...
No spoiler but seems very lucky Roberta is scheming to make Victoria look bad to the miners. Tainting their food is certainly one way to do it.
'
I am happy for Orlando. Jenny has some redemption to do but she's not a terrible person so I'm happy for her too.
Diana
"I liked young Gael and Marijo, but the older G and M just annoy and frustrate me . Do not care . They act less mature than their younger selves" is absolutely right Susan. This love triangle has no appeal to me. O/T, I think wwe both prefer the younger Gael and the younger Nico.
I hadn't thought to wonder as to who was the father of Jenny's first pregnancy. Interesting question. I wouldn't think she would have gone ahead with it had it been Orlando's but...
Diana
Diana, Did the writers ever tell us who the father was ? I am assuming it was Mau . If it was Mau, she was desperately trying to pull Mau away from Em and marry him , so why would she have an abortion ???? Did I miss something , or did the writers drop the ball on this storyline like they did on how and why Dan went into the manicomia ???? Susan
Susan, if the writers revealed who the father was, I don't remember. I don't think they've gone into what constituted her decision either.
Perhaps these answers will be revealed later.
Diana
Niecie, "Leandro is awful, but I'm actually hoping the brat moves in with him so I can see how this plays out with his wife and sons." That could be delightful, I am sure! : )
Gracias, Jarifa. Lots of bad stuff going on.
I believe that Leandro is getting revenge on Manuela for her rejection, her refusal to be his doormat, and never telling him about Julieta. Spiking the drinks at the quince was a perfect move because -- in addition to making poor Amanda think badly of her -- this can also interfere with her career. As she is single and has been for all this time he's also looking to wreck her budding relationship with Pablo which currently carries the double whammy of an accusation of adultery. If he contacts Carmina there's no stopping him except... Carmina could be BSC.
I totally agree that Yaneli is in over her head. Like it or not she has to start over from scratch. Genaro is too volatile.
Totally peeved about not seeing the confirmation about Paloma's leeching parents. She needs to find that out.
Great work, Diana.
Narcissists -- even stupid ones --are dangerous. Addled is a perfect example in this series. He will eventually kill someone and it could easily be Gigi.
I am very disturbed over the whole thread in this story about rape, pregnancy, and abortion. Although it can't be criminalized now these writers are still demonizing it, even going so far as to have Emilia happy about her pregnancy. It almost makes her romance with Leo creepy as he was the brother of her rapist. He's nothing like Mauricio but that still meant a connexion between her and Mauricio who showed no real evidence of remorse and still regarded Emilia as his property.
That's one more thing poor Nico will eventually have to know about.
Fidel definitely should be thinking about the circumstances of Ignacio's death and should listen to Roberta's statement about her lust for money and power. She is up (or down) there with Catalina Creel of Cuna de Lobos.
Finally, was it deliberate or a coincidence that this episode with the poisoned food ran on the same night as the spiked drinks at the quince on Vencer? Both of these incidents can have disastrous results for our female protagonists.
Great comments, everyone.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who's pissed off with the writers making Emilia so happy about the pregnancy. It doesn't make any sense and it's actually slightly creepy. I also think that they're against abortion. And what was up with Jenny getting one? Are they ever going to explain that? You guys mirrored my thoughts when it comes to the father. We have female writers in this one so I'm a bit surprised. You'd think women would be more open-minded, since it concerns them more. Thanks for the link, Urban. An interesting read. I didn't know abortion was illegal in Mexico until very recently!
I also think Addled can be dangerous. Gigí shouldn't underestimate him. Although, to be honest, I'm tired of this storyline too. The yellow police tape only suits comic relief.
ITA with Waterlily: if Seb suddenly falls in love with Míriam, I'll also throw something on the wall. Why are all the relationships written so weirdly in this show?
ITA with Liz on Fidel being crazy to want to marry Roberta. Why is he doing this? Is he actually in love in her? I'd like it more if it was some sort of plan or something.
Oh Susan, I also like Gael and Mar's younger selves, but not their current. How obnoxious they are now.
Well, this was another double header covering the original #26 and #27 but I will do my best to give you the facts.
Yaneli manages to get her teacher to leave saying that her brother is due to be home any time now and wouldn't be pleased. Her teacher makes it clear that he can get her scholarship back but it will take her becoming involved in some "extracurricular" activities. She asks if he is talking about more presentations. He answers saying that you could call it that. She is rescued from this situation when Manuela, Amanda and Paloma all agree to pool contributions of their own money to pay her tuition for the next month.
Enrique's children are not in favor of their father gong out with Amanda. They didn't like how he treated their mother. He tells them off and they leave in a huff. Amanda tells Enrique that he was pushing things too fast. She later introduces him to member of her family only as her "friend" to his surprise.
Amanda find out that she has been the victim of a scam online. The result is that somebody has cleaned out her savings account. Her life savings is gone and the bank can do nothing to help her.
Carmina is SHOCKED, when after she offered to help Pedro look for Damián, that he still divorces her. She thinks she is just being notified that he has filed for divorce but he has gone the route of a "divorcio encausado" aka an express divorce. Only one party has to file and sign off. The other party's agreement is not required. All that is left is establishing support and splitting their property. Pedro is planning on relocating permanently to Mexico City and selling his company. He tells his lawyer Carlos that he hopes Carmina and Pablito will stay in the house he has gotten them and he will find another place for himself. He is in love with another woman.
Pablo gets the address of Brian López's uncle from El Chiro. Brian was the dead boy that everyone thought was Damián. Pablo talks to the uncle who thinks that his nephew is still in jail. He had no idea he was dead and he wasn't the person who claim his body. So, who did?
Leandro's detective sends him a photo of Manuela and Pablo together where they are touching albeit very innocently. Leandro tells him that he wants to know all there is to know about Pablo.
The brat has joyously gone to live with her daddy dearest. Manuela is beside herself and is going to take him to court. Vicky will handle her case and is confident that she will triumph. Manuela is not too sure considering Leandro is a well-known lawyer with plenty of connections. When Leandro finds out that she is taking him to court, he shows her a document that proves that the brat now has his last name. Leandro blames her (again) for this whole mess because she never let him know that he had a child. Manuela insists she will win in court. Leandro laughs at her and her "lawyer". He informs her that he is going to sue HER for custody.
A romance continues to simmer just below the surface of the interactions between Paloma and Franco. When they present their BiogeneLab plan to the boss, he is upset that Paloma is doing all of the talking and has to be reminded that BiogeneLab wanted stronger feminine input. When Paloma is done talking, the boss asks her to straighten up the room because the maid didn't show up. It is a joke!! Ha! Ha! Franco comes to Paloma's defense and tells the boss he is sick of his machista comments and his misogynist attitude. He makes the boss apologize. The boss apologizes minimally but tells Franco that when the BiogenLab campaign is done, he will be reporting his actions to the head of the company. This is not over!!! Paloma's parents catch her and Franco kissing.
Leo and Victoria kiss but realize how impossible things are; Leo having a family, yada, yada, yada.
Sebas goes to Orlando for help with recovering Miriam, referring to Andres as his son. They discuss Addled and Orlando calls the situation peligroso and calls the police asking for discretion. The bros hug.
Marijo realizes her clothes are gone as Cayetana holds them in her hands, giggling like the insipid prankster she is.
Jenny comes in asking Orlando about Sebas and Miriam as gifts her with a glorious, dazzling smile and hug. Holding a brightly wrapped box, Jenny hands it to him murmuring “I love you”. He opens it to reveal the tiniest pair of white baby booties. We are going to be parents she proclaims happily. He picks her up, gently spinning her around once, proclaiming himself the happiest man in the world.
Victoria sees the picture of Sara and Leo kissing, the front-page headline. Roberta doesn’t want problems with Victoria and Sara rolls her eyes.
Gael walks by and seeing Marijo in the water holding her sneakers, rightly assesses her predicament. As she is in her underwear, she wants him to leave but then thinks the better of it. Being the gentleman he is, Gael removes his shirt showing off his chiseled biceps in the process. He tries to pull her out but falls in. The water is just fine and he asks her for another chance sealed with many kisses. Cayetana certainly pulled her little revenge ploy at the wrong time. Cayetana goes “home”, Marijo’s clothes hidden behind her back as Joaquina comes in and confronts her, recognizing Marijo’s clothes. Joaquina starts to make a call but Cayetana stops her.
Marijo finally manages to get out of the water and puts Gael’s T shirt on. He feels she is perfect for him, calling her guapa, sexy. More smooching.
Sebas finds out where Miriam is and knocks on the door. She answers with a scowl, asking him to leave. Finally, she relents and lets him in. He immediately asks where Andres is. Sebastian puts his hands gently on her face, asking Miriam to return so they can be a family. All of a sudden, Andres bursts through the door yelling “papa”!! Their joyous reunion is quickly over as Addled strides in.
Roberta’s snitch fills her in about Marijo and something about Tigre. She pulls out her wallet and puts a bunch of bills in his hand. She smiles with self-satisfaction.
Diana
Andres plays with his toy gun and runs out. Miriam stares stonily telling Sebas she will not return. There’s no doubt Addled’s presence is making everything much more intense. Sebas threatens Addled not to mess with his family. You aren’t a family Addled spits out. Miriam stands with Addled although she looks anguished.
Leo fights with his coffee maker recalling Victoria telling him things are impossible.
Zaira comes upon a crying, very vulnerable Emilia. Emilia laments the loss of Nico and Zaira hugs her with comforting words as Tigre comes up. He asks what she is doing there.
Miriam tells Sebas she is concerned with her future and that of her son. She squares her shoulders and mentions the specter of Emilia. Addled puts a proprietary arm around Miriam’s shoulders saying she is “his”. Sebas tells Addled off and when Addled moves toward him, Sebas breaks a vase over his head! Miriam looks horrified but surprisingly, Addled tells his henchie to leave Sebas alone.
Zaira doesn’t really give Tigre a good answer and Tigre hands Victoria a gold necklace. Is it THE necklace that Sebas gave to Nico or is it something else?? She asks Tigre if she can give him a hug, yes of course he answers and she does so with tears sparkling in her eyes.
Leo sees the article with the picture of him and Sara kissing on his phone as Sara comes in. She goes to hug him as he talks about his concern for the children. She leans down and kisses him. Kindly note that he makes absolutely no attempt to immediately disengage himself. Finally he does and just as he is about to tell Sara something he is told about the miners. Sara mutters about Roberta and picks up her phone.
Sebas tells Emilia Miriam has gone back with Addled. Emilia is supportive and they get up and hug, she ruffles his hair. Meanwhile, outside, we see Ramiro clutching his stomach and actually keeling over on the ground, having a seizure, and foaming at the mouth. Off to the side, other miners are also getting sick. Patricio is there seeing all the devastation he and Roberta have wrought.
Diana
Sebas and Emilia emerge from the mine to find Ramiro on a stretcher and the miners, one by one, getting sick.
Marijo tells Gael money isn’t important to her and laments about Tigre and Emilia. They agree they are novios and seal it with a kiss.
Gigi is ecstatic about Jenny’s news! She can’t wait to be a grandmother and wants to throw her a baby shower. Addled walks in to spoil the moment calling Gigi a traitor. She ignores him but tells him Jenny’s news. He seems happy but Jenny pointedly ignore him.
Patricio tells Roberta that things are bad they had to call an ambulance. Of course she doesn’t give a damn and gets up and walks away.
Marijo brings Gael home (bad idea). He is wrapped in a blanket as Nico comes in and the brothers are happy to see each other. Nico tells Gael that Victoria is coming between his father and Sara. Understanding dawning in his eyes, Gael looks down and says “ahh” a very non-committal response.
At the hospital the doctor tells Emilia, Tigre and Sebas that the miners have been intoxicated, Ramiro is the most serious.
Aleida shows up at her namesake restaurant and is warmly greeted by Orlando. Things are perfect he tells her as they hold hands. I am going to be a father! They stand and she hugs him tightly telling him how happy she is for him. She sits in happy shock. I’m going to be a grandmother!!
Tigre leaves Sebas and Emilia in the hospital coffee shop. Emilia agonizes over the fact Sara is indeed Nico’s mother and feels terrible for hurting him. Sebas listens with great concern and support.
Diana
"Fidel definitely should be thinking about the circumstances of Ignacio's death and should listen to Roberta's statement about her lust for money and power. She is up (or down) there with Catalina Creel of Cuna de Lobos". Love it Urban!
I hadn't thought of Addled as a narcissist but you make an excellent point.
Weirdo, thanks for confirming you are "on" for Thursday and Friday.
Diana
Superb recap Jarifa. Thank you so much for all the clarity you provided for this "2 for 1" episode. :)
So yes, who claimed Brian's body? I find Damian's and Dulce's disappearances some of the most intriguing storylines. I keep wondering if we have seen the last of Dulce and if we are ever going to see Damian in present day rather than only in flashbacks.
Yaneli's teacher was always off putting to me so I'm not surprised how predatory he's become. I wish one of the women would take her to live with them; she isn't safe alone.
Franco stands up for Paloma but he has to do much more to make him "Paloma worthy".
I saved the worst for last. Leandro was enraged after seeing the shot of Manuela with Pablo. Now he's going to sue her for custody? He is ruthless and seemingly will stop at nothing to get what he wants. The only bright moment was when Leandro's housekeeper was regarding Julieta with obvious distaste. She and her father are two peas in a pod. I don't know how she could side with him against Manuela who has been an exemplary, supportive, loving mother. Manuela is in for much heartache I fear.
Diana
Thanks so much. Diana. I loved your description of the scene with Leo and Sara. Men and their sudden paralysis. Leo told Sara they are going to stay together for the kids. Sara for some reason didn't like this. She said she could make him love her as he used to and that she is trying/will try to be a good mother and a good wife. I do wonder if he again believes her. I'm sick of him.
At least we are done with Mari and Gael. Though I have to note that if he hadn't said they should stop their games, she apparently would have been happy to continue that whole'I don't loveyou/you can't be with anyone else' game. Now we'll see just how unprepared they are for what Roberta is planning.
Tigre made the necklace out of that nugget Ignacio gave him.
As sad as Miriam is, the fact remains she would have stayed with Seb even knowing he didn't love her. So her saying he can't even love her as Emilia's ghost actually seemed like something she was thinking but wouldn't admit it for fear Seb would break up with her. She did say Seb is in love with Victoria who just arrived immediately after complaining he doesn't love her as 'Emilia'sghost'. I wonder whatMiriam is planning to do. Seb asks her if Andres needs a father like Addled. Miriam gives the weirdest response ever 'and he needs a father like you?'. Really?Did you hit your head, Miriam? Of course he does. He is actually the best father figure in this show. Her responses should offend Seb because of how unfair they are. I have a bad feeling about Seb and Miriam because of how upset Seb was when he was talking to Emilia.
Coffee makers are all Leo is able to fight with I'm afraid.
Is Cayetana a Gael and Marijo shipper? What was the point of stealing M's clothes?
Sara pointedly says she is sorry for the employees when she and Leo arrive at the hospital. Roberta mentioned something to her about having other matters to attend to and Sara now realises she's behind the poisoning. She could do some good by telling E the truth, but of course she won't. I mention this because I have no idea how they are going to redeem her.I loved Roberta telling her she is paying for her election campaign when Sara said its her and her faher's project. The woman is naive if she thinks she has a single argument in this discussion. She keeps whining about not liking Roberta and being miserable but I'm starting to think she actually likes it on some level because she is desperate to keep things as they are.
I wish they'd hurry with the 'baby isn't yours' reveal just so we could get Leo's I've been deceived attitude out of the way. This might be the only time I'll feel sorry for him. But maybe he'll have pissed me off so much by that point that I'll forget to be mad on his behalf.
Waterlily, thank you for your kind words and support.
"Tigre made the necklace out of that nugget Ignacio gave him". Waterlily, thank you for this and all the golden nuggets you supplied!
"Men and their sudden paralysis" and "He (Sebas) is actually the best father figure in this show" were both perfect and oh so true!!
I'm also baffled as to how Sara is going to be redeemed. As you pointed out, she knows but keeps Roberta's secrets to herself. I have a very bad feeling about something but will keep my crackpot theory (credit Doris) to myself for now.
If Leo can't win a fight against a machine, I mean, can we really expect him to "man" up and do the right thing concerning anything in his life? He will stay with Sara and suffer? We know it won't be forever as the fact Romina is Danilo's has to surface sooner or later, right??
There are so many interesting storylines here, please writers, don't waste any more time on Gael and Marijo!
Miriam should have told Sebas immediately that Addled threatened to kill him. Standing by his loathsome side has only earned her contempt. Well, at least mine...
Waterlily, I hope you are improving a bit more every day and feeling a bit better.
Thank you so much!
Diana
Diana , thank you for an excellent, bouncy recap of all the drama and doom. Water lily, thank you for providing more details.
I loved your remark about Leo fighting with his coffeemaker ! Perhaps he is getting his frustrations out on the electrical appliances now . He hasn't fought effectively for much so far. Lackadaisical Leo can't even summon the strength to move away from Sara's lying kisses .
Through it all , Seb continues to be the true hero by relentlessly trying to protect Miriam and her son from Addled .
Susan
Diana: AWESOME job on the recap of last night's episode. Crazy Whacky Blonde Sara is keeping Psycho Roberta's secrets to herself. Let's see how long before the Body Count increases.
Waterlily: Bold Prediction: Danillo being Romina's biological father will be exposed sooner or later! Leo will find out one way or another.
We all know Emilia & Leo will be endgame in the end in several months from now.
Weirdo: Keeping my fingers crossed that Adelia gets her happily ever after too after what she's been through.
Jarifa, thank you for doing double duty and bringing us the news from two episodes mashed together .
That teacher is disgusting , but it does happen unfortunately . ugh.
Leondro is crafting a giant anvil for himself . Can Julieta eventually be reformed from becoming an increasingly toxic teen ? Since Leondro just met her, we can't blame him for her brattiness.
Amanda cannot catch a break. I guess the writers are sending a PSA for seniors .
Yaneli reminds me of that poor young girl in the last Vencer who was living all alone after her mother died. We hoped that one of the three women ,who were also dealing with their own problems ,would take her in. She fell in with a bad crowd . Yaneli is dealing with a predatory teacher. Awful.
Susan
Gracias, Jarifa. What the hell else are they cutting?
Is it even legal for Leandro to give the brat his name without Manuela's knowledge or consent? Obviously Leandro is corrupt in his professional dealings, so he could make that happen. His threat to sue Manuela for custody could fall flat in front of a female judge if Manuela testifies that he was married to or about to marry Lorena when he had boinked her and she had ghosted him before knowing she was pregnant. The waiter he bribed at the quince looked like he might have an attack of conscience about what he did, but it's a little too early to resolve all this.
On the romantic front Pablo did serve the divorce papers and his marriage to Carmina was on the rocks for several years already. It looks like Manuela hasn't dated in ages so anything Leandro tries to say about her will be lies which I predict The Brat will support.
Palooma's parents' reaction to seeing her kissing Franco is a harbinger of more interference.
I will take this opportunity to speculate that Franco takes anti-depressants. He looks way too healthy physically for it to be anything else. You can see there's no t-shirt under his business shirt.
I applauded Eugenio's reaction to his selfish brats about his relationship with Amanda. She needs to do the same with hers.
I appreciate your kind comments Susan. "Lackadaisical Leo can't even summon the strength to move away from Sara's lying kisses" had me smiling away! Isn't that the truth? The man simply lacks gumption.
Even after what transpired last night, I still can't shake my fear Sebas is going to end up with Miriam. I had a tiny bit of hope for her which has now evaporated. Part of being in love is fighting for that love, banding together to vanquish any threats. And above all, believe and trust in each other.
Diana
Your supportive remarks are very appreciated Steve.
I fear you are right in that Leo and Emilia are end game. But that doesn't mean we have to like it!
I am looking forward to Orlando finding out Aleida is his mother...
Diana
Thanks Jarifa, for telling all that’s happening. I’m not sure why they are cutting things out. I’m really enjoying this and want to see everything that happens.
It seems like Leandro doesn’t want Manuela anymore, he just wants to hurt her for rejecting him Manuela will be heartbroken but Julieta is so awful she deserves to be with her father. And I think Leandro has a very good chance of getting custody.
I like Paloma with Franco. He might be the one to stand up to her parents. He did tell off their boss
Carmina is awful. How has Pedro lasted this long with her. And I can’t understand him choosing her over his son.
I guess I thought banks insured your money. I find it hard to believe a bank would just sit there and say they can’t do anything. I wonder if her ex is doing this. It came out of nowhere.
Yaneli did a good job of getting rid of the teacher. Let’s hope he leaves her alone now.
I’m hoping both Dulce and Damian are alive. And I hope we’ll see Yaneli’s brother.
Liz
Thanks again to Diana and Waterlily for the details.
This looks like cyanide poisoning. It was an easy murder weapon back in the late Victorian era and was popular with female serial killers, usually of the Black Widow type. It's colorless, odorless, and tasteless and may have been impossible to detect back then. It can be tested now.
Roberta is seriously unhinged to be doing this. It would not surprise me if her final fate is to commit suicide to avoid prison and public humiliation.
Miriam isn't the brightest bulb in the chandelier, but may know Sebas well enough to realize he would not be afraid of Addled. They should have left town ages ago. At this time I think at least one of them will end up dead at the end. Most likely her since Addled has a propensity for being physically threatening/abusive toward women, leaving Andres behind to be raised by Sebas.
Cayetana just wanted to humiliate Marijo. I doubt she expected Gael to show up at the scene.
Oops; forgot to post this. It's the closest I could find online to Victoria's great necklace from a few episodes ago. I'm definitely buying it!

The new El Maleficio has begun airing in Mexico but the original is now on Vix gratis and can be seen through Amazon Prime. The great Ernesto Alonzo is in very elegant villain form as the title character.
Thanks, Diana, that was great. I loved how Cayetana’s prank really backfired on her. I hope she realizes how she helped their romance along.
I know Miriam is doing this to save Sebas but I still don’t like her and don’t want them to be together. But Sebas does love Andres. And once Addled meets his ending, Miriam will be free.
I was surprised the miners got so sick. I hope the doctors discover they were poisoned. This is going to hurt Orlando too. Maybe Patricio will feel bad, but he’s helped her before so he’s pretty low.
I’m happy for Aleida. I hope Orlando will find out the truth soon.

Urban, you made an interesting prediction about Miriam possibly being killed by Addled which would put addled Addled in jail and Andres in Seba's loving care. If that doesn't happen , I fear that Miriam will win the big prize of this show..Sweet Seb. ..so much for karma and getting what you deserve .
OT..Whenever I stop by to read the comments, I am always struck by the wisdom and compassion of the folks who gather here . It lifts me up to feel the kindness and intelligence so evident in the comments . Susan , grateful for the good vibes that are always pulsating here at caray
Diana, thanks. To be honest, I prefer these two in one episodes to double episodes. I agree about the Dulce and Damián story lines. For me, all of the others pale in comparison. "Franco stands up for Paloma but he has to do much more to make him "Paloma worthy"." You can say that again. He is an odd duck. I like Paloma and feel that she deserves better than him or her awful parents.
Urban, thanks for the info on "El maleficio." "What the hell else are they cutting?" is the question. My bet is that they want this novela to end by a specific date to be replaced by the "next great thing" and the 80 original episodes is not fitting into their schedule. "I will take this opportunity to speculate that Franco takes anti-depressants. He looks way too healthy physically for it to be anything else. . . . " That could very well be. We have seen him without his shirt and he is far from emaciated and not fat . . . just sort of thick. LOL
Liz, As for Leandro and Manuela with the brat I totally agree with "And I think Leandro has a very good chance of getting custody." The question then will be if Leandro and the brat will be able to convince her to come and live with them so the brat can have "the family" she always wanted. I may be wrong, but I think that Leandro will use the situation as leverage. As for the bank, I am guessing that banking rules are different in different countries just like the legal systems. "And I hope we’ll see Yaneli’s brother." Me, too. It seems like the justice system has swallowed him up.
OT
I watched the first few episodes of "Mi marido tiene familia" the other day on Vix while I was baking and found it as charming and enjoyable as I did the first time. It will always be one of my favorites. Urban just mentioned Vix before. It has so much great free content. It is a real treasure trove.
Susan, great question: "Can Julieta eventually be reformed from becoming an increasingly toxic teen ? Since Leondro just met her, we can't blame him for her brattiness." No we cannot. She night have been born a brat but IMHO it doesn't look like Manuela did much to rein her in when she was younger. "That teacher is disgusting , but it does happen unfortunately . ugh." It sure does. Yaneli technically is no longer jail bait being 18 BUT he would have her PAY for her tuition with this definition of "extra-curricular" activities? Yes, these single young females are always at a disadvantage in these novelas. I think you were talking about Rayo in "Vencer la ausencia." yes, she was another example of the same thing.
Thanks so much Urban!
Very interesting info about cyanide poisoning. Hmmm, hopefully they will be able to find the source. Ramiro seems to be very sick; I'm wondering if he will make it.
"Miriam isn't the brightest bulb in the chandelier, but may know Sebas well enough to realize he would not be afraid of Addled". Exactly! Sebas is clever and resourceful and can take care of himself.
I am not able to see the picture of the necklace you posted and hope I will be able to later.
Diana
Thank you Liz...
I don't care for Miriam either but I think the writers are going to put her with Sebas.
When you think about it, Emilia has loved Sebas for years, but in the brotherly sense. As much as she may want to reciprocate the way he loves her, you cannot dictate what your heart years for. It is possible but highly unlikely she will wake up one day and decide she loves him in the romantic sense.
Aleida is one of my favorites here and like you, cannot wait for the mother and child reunion.
Similarly, Sebastian does not love Miriam. If they end up together it will be because he knows Emilia doesn't love him the way he wants, deserves to be loved. He will settle for second best but have Andres, whom he loves dearly.
Diana
El corazon no se manda. When did we last hear that one?
As to the cyanide, I'm a true crime addict and I learned about this from ID Network's Deadly Women. Once life insurance became a thing there were Black Widow serial killers cashing in by poisoning inconvenient husbands and other relatives. Here are examples of some of the most notorious ones. A few of them were featured on DW. There are some full episodes on Youtube.
