VENCER LA CULPA #30

Wow! This was another great episode.

FLASHBACK We see that once Genaro ran from the police he was assaulted by a gang who wanted to know what he knew about Dulce.

Yaneli asks Genaro who is threatening him. He doesn't answer and tells her he will never forgive himself if something happened to Yaneli. He regrets that he could have helped Dulce but didn't. She was involved in some heavy stuff. Yaneli wants to know how he got his lawyer and why he is taking the fall for Dulce's disappearance . Genaro has no answers. When Yaneli gets too emotional, he ends the visit and tells her to forget about him.

As for the rape victim, both Manuela and Vicky have nor been able to find out anything about her on the social networks and her phone has been disconnected. Vicky finds it suspicious that when Andrea appeared she was accompanied by Leandro. (Was it planned for Manuela to run into him?) Manuela asks Leandro about Andrea later and if there was any follow up with him. He tells her that Andrea withdrew her complaint, got a new lawyer and came to an agreement with her husband. He has heard nothing about her since then.

Leandro takes the opportunity to paint Lorena as the villain in his divorce to Manuela. He is the poor victim.

Walter is outside of Paloma's parents' old house and asks a neighbor what happened to them. She says that Paloma and her family were evicted and she has no idea of where they moved to.

Enrique tells Amanda she has to leave her children live their own lives. Bhtnof his children now want to start a FAMILY business with him.

Leandro says although that Amanda is still supporting Lorena and not Manuela, he will take care of her debts because she is his mother and hel loves her.

The brat is making plans with her friends to go to a concert. Kiro is going to show up, too! The brat says her father will buy them all tickets. When she comes home and informs Manuela and Leandro what is going on, she is not pleased when Manuela tells her it isn't happening. They have no idea of who Kiro is and how could she volunteer her father to buy tickets for everyone??? The brat goes ballistic but Leandro steps in and tells her to SHUT UP! (BEST PART of the episode) He has had it with her. He will not be taking her disrespect and neither will her mother. The brat is shocked that he is supporting her mother and not her. She disappears into her room. Leandro says all of the right things to Manuela. They have to be a united front for the brat's sake and he even gives her credit for being the great mother she is. Little do they know that Kiro is helping to poison the brat's mind against them both. He suggests she do a challenge. This is more of a challenge for her parents than for her to see what her parents would do for her. She has to go missing for 48 hours. We do not see what her answer is.

Pablo and Jorge find out from the prosecutor that the woman they are looking for from the beauty shop is (DEAD) Brayan's cousin. The search for Brayan and Damián goes on. Carmina is still insisting on helping and is still feeling oh! so guilty for who she treated Damián. She even has a list of apartments in the area for Pablo to take a look at since he is moving out.. While they are out looking, they run into Manuela. Pablo supposes Manuela is there because her daughter lives nearby with her father. Manuela answers that now the three of them are living there together. (Carmina looks like she is enjoying Pablo's look of shock way too much)

VENCER Page 2

Paloma's work buddy starts planting doubts in Paloma's bird brain (a paloma is a dove/that was supposed to be a joke) What does she know about Franco? Is he married? How many exes does he have? Paloma admits he never responded to her friend request on Amibuk. He isn't into social media. Paloma starts to wonder about who Franco is. She goes to pick him up to go to work together (they live on opposite sides of a park) While she is waiting for him to get dressed, she texts with Yaneli, notices Franco friended her on Amibuk and starts snooping. (THAT is always a bad sign) In a desk drawer, she finds an envelope with photos of Dulce and a red string bracelet just like Dulce and Genaro had

CORRECTION PART 1

The search for Brayan's COUSIN and Damián goes on.

It was indeed a great episode Jarifa but your recap was even more so; so well written and engrossing. You shone a bright light on so much.

Oh my, Leandro's verbal tirade to Julieta was a sight to behold. Fierce, furious and fiery, even Manuela's eyes shone a bit with reluctant admiration (as did mine). Magnificently displaying such righteous anger, he surely had to have genuinely meant some of it, right??

I hadn't understood that Kiro was behind the ticket buying suggestion or was the catalyst for having her disappear. One good "talking to" certainly disueded her from being "daddy's little girl" and quickly.

The most upsetting revelation of the night was Genaro admitting to Yaneli that "he could have helped Dulce but didn't". That poor girl.

"Vicky finds it suspicious that when Andrea appeared she was accompanied by Leandro. (Was it planned for Manuela to run into him?)" Quite possibly Jarifa. I am starting to wonder if we are just starting to scratch the surface of exactly who Leandro is. A manipulator and liar certainly but is there even a more evil core?

I might ask the same about Franco. He is definitely hiding something; what on earth is his connection to Dulce??

The mysteries deepen...

Minas + Slightly OT

I loved the comments. Thanks so much for the recap, Diana. Liz, Waterlily was the one who wrote all that additional info - not me! A big thank you to her as well!

We had frequent power cuts today for absolutely no reason. We have 20-something degrees Celsius here. I'd do anything for the weather to be a bit cold. Anyway, I was FINALLY able to watch the episode.

The recap will be up in a few hours.

Vencer #30

Gracias, Jarifa. We are now heading into the outrageous.

I am convinced that Leandro's reaction to The Brat's latest demand was staged by him to score points with Manuela. Maybe he can afford to pay for this, but doing so would get him even further away from his goal of trapping Manuela. It also carries the bonus of enabling him to control The Brat.

Kiro is likely to be someone grooming The Brat. If Leandro really gave a damn about her he would be investigating this, but I believe he only sees her as a means to an end. If anything happens to her he will "be there" for Manuela until he wants to lower the boom on her.

I don't like what Paloma found in Franco's desk. She doesn't deserve to be with a creep, which this is implying. We're not even at the halfway mark.

Minas de Pasión - Capítulo 80 - Jueves, 28 de Diciembre, 2023

Some truths come to light, some hide deeper - Part 1/4

Victoria thanks Joaquina. She then asks her about Ignacio, how did he die? Joaquina has an "oh crap" face. She says Ignacio died of a heart attack and he had Alzheimer's. She is then low-key forced to admit that he was bad with Roberta. She tries to leave but Victoria stops her and tells her she just wants to help Nico and she's working on helping his mother's family. She's trying to find a legal way to detain Roberta without getting Joaquina in trouble. Joaquina thanks her before she leaves. Victoria tells herself she has to get Nico out of there.

Gigí is shocked Roberta told her to quit the campaign and let Sara do it. She mentions Fidel and Addled and Roberta says she doesn't need them. Gigí replies that she has to help women become like her (I guess she meant help them not to need a man?) Roberta starts the "we're friends" crap and Gigí finally loses it and says she DOESN'T want to be her friend. Roberta mentions the consequences and Gigí says she threatened her the same way years ago in order not to get divorced. She orders her to leave her house and not come back. FINALLY!

Sebas and Tigre talk about Victoria again.

Danilo is polite to Romina's nana in order to see her. Out she comes. Dan interacts with her a bit, he says he's a magician, gets something out of his clothes and gives it to Romy as a gift. Romy gives him her lollipop.

Leo and Orlando ask Tigre about the intoxication. Leo claims he knows Victoria isn't guilty. Tigre says all the miners ate the same things except from dessert, IIRC. When they ask him if he noticed anything strange, he says that now that he mentioned it, there were some gelatinas on the table. Orlando says they're not theirs. Tigre says some guy who doesn't work in the mines brought them.

Waterlily called it: Míriam calls Sebas, in tears and asks him if he can come where she is (she'll sent him instructions). Sebas says yes (of course!)

Marijó flirts with the dude Gael fought with. He says he's suspended because he fought with Gael. She informs him Gael isn't her novio anymore and the guy asks her out. She accepts.

Very conveniently, there's a woman who sells gelatinas right outside of the mines. Leo approaches her and asks her how long she's been working here for. The lady replies a few days and mentions a delivery to the miners. Leo asks who order them and the woman describes some gal and says she said they're from the engineer Alcázar.

Sebas is right outside of the house where Míriam is, but Addled's got people outside. Sebas calls her and she cries, saying she never stopped loving him and asking if he forgives her. He forgives her, ugh.

Cayetana brought Nico to Zaira's. They're talking about a sponsor when Gael enters. He's happy to see Nico but not that much to see Cayetana. He has to get something from the market and Zaira tells him to go with Cayetana. Cayetana, who's name is too big that I'll call her Tana, is more than happy for that; Gael is not. Zaira and Nico hug.

Dan goes to the same lab Mau went to to get a paternity test for Romy using the lollipop. Gee, he and Mau have so many things in common; they both went to (the same) lab to get the test and they both suck at math. The lady says they need consent from the mother. Why didn't that happen with Mau? Dan just begs and cries and the lady says she'll help him.

Sebas asks Gigí for help. He explains the whole Míriam situation.

Addled is with his best pal Fidel when some dude delivers him divorce papers from Gigí! Oh and I think she wants half of something (Money? House? Both? I couldn't hear). His best pal says "ouch".

Minas de Pasión - Capítulo 80 - Jueves, 28 de Diciembre, 2023

Some truths come to light, some hide deeper - Part 2/4

Gigí tells Sebas about asking Addled for a divorce and something about her candidacy. Sebas says he understands why she can't help Míriam and assures her divorcing Addled is the best decision of the life. Come on, now. Why would Gigí help Míriam? I wouldn't. This reminds me of the whole "Jenny is a good person because she hired Míriam" thing. Being a supporter of women's rights and female empowerment doesn't mean you have to help every single woman despite what they did to you.

Tana runs around like the idiot she is, falls down and hits her leg. Gael helps her. Marijó is flirting with the guy, saying she learnt he won in the fight with Gael. Bad pickup line, IMHO.

Gael massages Tana's foot. Tana's pickup line is legit "what nice hands you have". Geez, girl. I'm pretty sure my neighbour's cat can come up with something better.

Unfortunately, Marijó and the dude arrive at the same café Tana and Gael were forced to stop. The dude sees them - not that hard when Tana is screaming that her leg's hurting her - and tells Mar that Gael didn't wait long to be with that girl. Really, my guy? Marijó is doing the same thing!

Leo talks about wanting to divorce Sara with Orlando. Unfortunately, Sara and Danilo are in the same store (two times in the same episode? Give me a break).

Please welcome on stage our next contestant for Worst Pickup Line Ever, Mr. Fidel Roldán! He brings flowers to Victoria and is acting all cringe saying she should call him Fidel. She asks him if he wants a coffee and he replies he thought it would be a good idea to have dinner together! "Con placer" replies Victoria. Roberta walks in the whole scene and asks Victoria what's the meaning of this.

Back to Kindergarten, Tana sees Marijó with the dude and says to Gael the same thing the dude told Marijó, "she sure didn't wait for a while". Gael just says "let's leave". Poor guy. He helps Tana get up and she hugs him. Marijó gets up too and asks the dude to hug her, strongly. He does. Then, Tana kisses Gael. We're playing Simon Says today in the Kindergarten. Simon Says kiss your partner... And Mar asks the guy to kiss her. At the end of the school day, Mar tells the dude they should leave.

Victoria tells Roberta about the dinner invitation. She replies they have to talk and Vic asks her if it can wait; she'd love to go to have dinner with Fidel. Roberta looks like she's about to explode as she says it's about the intoxication. Victoria invites Roberta to eat with them! Roberta quickly accepts before Fidel has a chance to talk. Victoria says she'll invite Sebastián too - he's her right hand. Definitely NOT the romantic dinner Fidel expected.

Leo is acting jealous when he sees Sara with Danilo, who he knows as Benito. Orlando is holding him to avoid Leo making a mess, but unsuccessfully. Sara and Danilo make an excuse that they came here for work. Leo doesn't buy it. Ugh, Leo, why does your brain only work when it comes to Sara? Orlando tells him to calm down. Leo and Dan fight, first verbally and then physically. Orlando drags Leo out.

Victoria sliiightly flirts with Fidel?! Roberta, unnerved, keeps shifting the conversation topic to business and says they lost the miners' trust because of the intoxication. Vic says they'll get it back. Roberta insists that they won't forget about it, since it nearly cost them their life. Vic agrees about not forgetting life-threatening things, like her almost dying right after she signed the papers to become a partner of the mines. Tension in the air...

Gael, back at home, says he'll call a cab for Tana and Nico.

Minas de Pasión - Capítulo 80 - Jueves, 28 de Diciembre, 2023

Some truths come to light, some hide deeper - Part 3/4

Roberta says she can't forget about the incident and mentions the investigation. Fidel is like "let's not talk about that". Vic and Roberta are both opposed to each other's way of thinking. Vic wins when she says Roberta already bankrupted a mine with her ideas. Fidel half-smiles at this smooth roast. Rob gets suspicious and asks her how she knows about the other mine. Vic is all "I investigated before I became your partner, DUH" as she sips her champagne. Roberta claims the mine bankruptcy wasn't her fault, she blames the miners and most of all Emilia Sánchez, La Minera. Sebas arrives at the best moment he could have. He and Victoria kiss quickly. Roberta smiles widely and congratulates them while Fidel looks like he got punched in the face.

Aleida gifts some baby stuff to Orlando. Orlando confides in her that his dad is involved in illegal activities, but he isn't. Al tells him to calm down, she knows he's a good guy. She advises him to turn his father in, otherwise he'll be considered an accomplice. I mean, Orlando was the head of the precinct, I'm pretty sure he knows about it...

Victoria mentions Roberta and Fidel being a couple from right after Ignacio's death. Fidel tries to talk but Roberta cuts him again, confirming that they've been "friends" for a long time. Victoria says that "el amor y el dinero no se pueden esconder" - love and money can't be hidden. Fidel now wants to talk about the mines, completely coincidentally. Roberta says that he's completely right and calls him her love. Fidel gets up and leaves and Roberta follows him.

Sara says the same lie to Leo when they get back home. Leo screams at her that they have to get divorced, it's the best thing for all of them. Tana and Nico come home at that moment and of course they hear.

Zaira massages Tigre's back. They hug and says she has a surprise for him. She shows him some sexy pijamas and his face is PRICELESS. He says they know he can't respond and Zaira say they can try. Tigre whines he doesn't want to and Zaira gets angry.

Nico screams at Leo if it's true. Sara uses this opportunity and says SHE doesn't want them to divorce. Nico screams at Leo he's a liar and that they're supposed to be family. He runs to his room. Sara blames LEO and he says he never wanted to hurt the kids. Sara tells him he'll make Romina very sad and Leo says all of this is her fault, this is a result of her mistakes.

Sebas freaks out when he hears about Fidel wanting Emi and Emi doing... well... this. Emilia says Fidel will want to be with her more now that he knows they're together. "You're going to do the same thing you did with Leo?" he asks her. Emilia doesn't look very happy when she hears this.

Leo tries to get Nico to talk to him. He doesn't, with pillows on his ears. They don't seem to be doing a good job, bud. You can still hear everything.

Seb says he's worried, Fidel is dangerous, he could harm her when he finds out the truth! He mentions Leo again. All Emi says is "Do you think Leo could hurt me when he finds out the truth?" Leona from Invencible, Version 2.0. Oh and she says she's trying to convert her affection as a friend to romantic love. Way to ruin the mood. Sebas' kiss ends on her cheek, with no indication from Emilia that she'd rather kiss her on the lips. Awkward.

Roberta drinks and remembers some previous scenes with Victoria and Emilia. "These two women are so alike", she mutters. Yeah, you think?

Leo runs around. He finds the car which almost run Victoria over in a previous episode.

Minas de Pasión - Capítulo 80 - Jueves, 28 de Diciembre, 2023

Some truths come to light, some hide deeper - Part 4/4

Sara asks Roberta for help with Leo. Roberta asks her if she gave him a reason to divorce her or something. Sara admits it. Then she does another imperdonable thing: she lies that the guy she's seeing is BLACKMAILING her with INTIMATE stuff of theirs. Dude, what? How on EARTH will she get redeemed?

Roberta asks her his name. Sara says that it doesn't matter. Rob replies that she needs his name to turn him into an enemy. She adds that "muerto el perro, se acabó la rabia" which vaguely translates to "the dog's dead, the rage has stopped". The literal translation is a bit weird in English. Sara says his name is Benito ___ (didn't get the last name). "Victoria's employee?" Roberta asks. "I don't know what I was doing" or something similar is Sara's answer. Roberta remembers more scenes with Victoria and FINALLY says "Emilia!" out loud. "What was that?" Sara asks, but no response.

And with Roberta shocked, we have the Fin del Capítulo.

O/T: Vix.com

I've seen the first 7 episodes of the original El Maleficio from 1983 and totally recommend it. This is available gratis on that service with fewer ads than you will get on Amazon Prime.

The cast includes many familiar faces: Ernesto Alonso (who was also Executive Producer), Jacqueline Andere, Norma Herrera, Rebecca Jones, Erica Buenfil, Humberto Zurita, Maria Sorte, Sergio Goyri, and Eduardo Yanez.

"VINO" EPISODE#80:

Weirdo: Howdy from the Alamo City. Thank you very much for your hardworking efforts in keeping us informed especially the recap of last night's episode.

Memo to Emilia/Victoria: You, Adelia & Danillo would've been better off staying in Spain for 20+ years.

Sebastian forgiving Miriam OMG. Such a wimp!

Someone mentioned that Adelia's phone was missing which is a HORRIBLE red flag because the Fearsome Foursome's revenge plans are likely going to blow up in their faces.

The dude who portrayed Smarmy Fidel was also on one of those Omaha Mutual commercials yesterday LOL.

Dumbass Danillo needs to come clean & tell Slow Leo that HE, Dumbass Danillo is the father of Romina.

MINAS

Weirdo, this was an absolutely incredible recap. Your wry wit and humor added so much.

This might have been my favorite episode to date.

“Gee, he and Mau have so many things in common; they both went to (the same) lab to get the test and they both suck at math” was one of many favorites.

Addled getting the divorce papers was sweet and I loved Fidel’s reaction “ouch”.

Loved the new and improved Gigi, the lioness roaring that Roberta leave!

I’m sure Sara will use every weapon (her children) to her advantage to delay the divorce. She is really looking irredeemable at this point.

I had several favorite scenes. The first was with charming and somewhat duplicitous Danilo getting the DNA test done. His megawatt smile would make the coldest heart melt. His “fight” with Leo was rather lackluster but when I realized I wanted Danilo to win, I can’t imagine I’ll be happy when Leo ends up with Emilia.

Next, was the dinner with our favorite couple, Victoria and Sebas and our loathsome now “consciously uncoupled” Roberta and Fidel. Roberta slow burning as Victoria toyed with Fidel like a cat with a mouse. Then, her joy at seeing Sebas and Vic are more than friends while “Fidel looks like he got punched in the face”!

I didn’t understand Emilia and Sebas’ conversation after the infamous dinner. “Emilia says Fidel will want to be with her more now that he knows they're together. "You're going to do the same thing you did with Leo?" he asks her. Emilia doesn't look very happy when she hears this”. And yes, there was no romantic kiss between Emilia and Sebas either.

Light finally dawned on Roberta that Victoria is Emilia. Surely Emilia and company have realized this could occur and have formulated Plan B??

Thanks, Jarifa, another excellent recap. I love the mystery in this show and hope we get to see all the episodes!

I thought Leandro looked guilty of something when Manuela was questioning him about Andrea. I couldn’t understand the dialogue so was just watching him and he seemed nervous. I was also surprised at his outburst at the brat. I think he did it all for show. His main goal is winning over Manuela I think he figures he’s got the brat on his side and is now working to get Manuela caring for him.

I felt so sorry for Pablo when Manuela told him she was living with father and daughter. I hope he doesn’t go back to that awful wife.

I like Franco and am wondering if Dulce is a sister or cousin and he was looking for her. He could have taken the consulting job knowing Paloma was her landlord. If he took her would he have those pictures with him? I just want him to be a good guy. I don’t like Walter!

minas
Thanks,weirdo.
It took exactly one episode for Miriam to run to Seb. I didn't realise he forgave her. I remember her also telling him she shouldn't have called him because she's only exposing him. I mean, it's a little too late when he is outside your house already. But I think that's her general attitude: I come first. It's only later that she changes her mind. I suppose the writers would argue she is scared. But then she shouldn't have agreed to come and live with Addled. I noticed that the writers made both Seb and Miriam be pushy when it comes to relationships with those they are in love with. The difference is that Sebas ultimately is a very good person whereas Miriam, like Sara, seems to pick herself over anyone else. They could have made her into a character with flaws but could have given her enough good qualities to make her likable. Now it's only 'the lost sister' syndrome and that's it. Roberta tells Sara that if stupidity were an illness, hers would be in the last stage. This goes for Miriam too I think.
Someone said that Emilia is being cruel by using Sebas the way she does and I agree. I'm angry at her because I think it's easy to use feelings like guilt or love to your advantage. She was entirely honest with him so I bet deep down she knows she made Sebas play a game he can't win.
I don't understand why Roberta all of a sudden started comparing Emilia and Victoria and realised they were alike.
Why did Emilia get so angry when Sebas asked her if she is going to do the same with Fidel as what she was trying to do with Leo? Isn't she doing exactly the same thing? I'm starting to wonder why Leo and Sebas are so in love with her.
I wonder if Leo is going to go through with the divorce plan. He never really showed any courage. For a pairing to work for me, I have to fall in love with the character a bit too, I can't tolerate Leo because I have no respect for him at all. What is the point of this kind of galan? What does he bring to the story? Or is constant frustration supposed to tell me he is a worthy galan? There's flawed and then there's Leo... Well, and also David. Why can't Seb be on his own? Please?

Minas

Thanks, Weirdo, great recap. I am so tired of Gael and Marijo. Although I think Marijo was probably trying to find out if he and his friends were hired to beat up Gael. Tana needs to leave, she did not listen to Joaquina at all.

Someone said Victoria would be found out in episode 80 and it looks like Roberta has figured it out.

I couldn’t figure out why Victoria invited Roberta and Sebas to her dinner with Fidel. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Is Roberta going to have Danilo killed to save Sara’s marriage. Sara is lowering herself to Roberta’s level.

It’s going to get worse for the good guys before it gets better!

Liz

Minas

Weirdo, thank you for that detailed recap of all the trouble and strife.

To tell you the truth, at this point, I am tired of all these folks ..Orlando and Jen seem to be the only happy couple. Sweet Aleida , who has suffered so much due to Fidel and Roberta, awaits in the wings to finally reveal to O that she is his mommy.( She must have been in that manicomio since O was a little boy. )

I am fed up with everyone else . Even sweet , protective Seb is starting to get on my nerves because he has become a martyr trying to protect the woman he doesn't love Miriam and is still hopeless!y devoted to Em\Vic , who has put him in her eternal friend zone .

Leo is a big , apathetic disappointment . Not my idea of a hero . Basta. I am also tired of Em\Vic ...so let those two finally get together . Do not care.

I've had enough of all these people . I just want this story to end and move on to the next crazy tale . Maybe Dan could end up with Flor and move from from this maddening crowd. Susan

Super job, Jarifa. "The brat goes ballistic but Leandro steps in and tells her to SHUT UP! (BEST PART of the episode)" -- Yes, indeed.

ITA Leandro shutting down the Brat is likely a ploy to manipulate Manuela, but dang I still enjoyed the hell out of that scene. :>

Paloma has reason to worry about Franco, but I do think he has the photos/bracelet for righteous reasons. Too bad he won't trust Paloma with these reasons. They showed him taking prescribed pills earlier, and I'm thinking he has anxiety issues.

Pablo is just not looking smart strolling around with Carmina for an apartment for him to rent. He needs to do something really sharp for me to forgive him for kicking out Damian in the first place. Letting Carmina hang on him is annoying.

MINAS

"For a pairing to work for me, I have to fall in love with the character a bit too," is so true Waterlily! I think that is why those of us who watch telenovelas for faithful, unwaivering, glorious true love have been so disappointed.

Unless things change drastically Em will end up with "big apathetic disappointment" [so true Susan] undeserving Leo and Sebas will be saddled with Miriam.

I know Sara is unworthy but I'm really rooting for Danilo. Liz, now that Roberta knows who he is, I'm very concerned for him too.

Steve, thanks for the info on the actor portraying Fidel showing up on commercials. I'll keep an eye out!

Diana

VENCER

Diana and Liz, I am a big fan of all of the mysteries, too. It is what has kept me going with this novela. Then there is the the medication/drugs(?) Franco is taking besides the contents of his desk drawer.

Urban, I agree that there are all kinds of unsavory possibilities lurking. "Kiro is likely to be someone grooming The Brat." Just because they gave Kiro the voice of a kid means nothing.

I cannot wait until tonight!

Minas

Thanks to everyone for your comments!

Steve, I kinda like "Dumbass Danilo"! Yes, as much as he needs to tell Leo the truth I don't think he will, or at least not yet.

Diana, I'm happy you liked the episode, because it pissed me off a bit too much to like it. While there were good scenes (like the epic dinner one), Míriam, Emilia's "I'm trying to love you" talk, Sara being worse than ever and the Kindergarten were our daily dose of annoyance.

"Surely Emilia and company have realized this could occur and have formulated Plan B??" I sure hope so! I think they will have made one; it's too soon for our main villain to know the truth, verdad?

Waterlily, thanks for adding Roberta's great line to Sara. I don't remember hearing that for some reason. Cut content? Or bad hearing?

ITA about Míriam. Ya basta.

"I don't understand why Roberta all of a sudden started comparing Emilia and Victoria and realised they were alike." Yeah, that was a bit weird and random. It sure took her a while to realise.

"Why did Emilia get so angry when Sebas asked her if she is going to do the same with Fidel as what she was trying to do with Leo? Isn't she doing exactly the same thing?" LOL and yes, she is IMO. I'm tired of her.

I also want Sebas to be on his own. Míriam surely doesn't deserve him and Emi is getting on my nerves now.

Liz, "Although I think Marijo was probably trying to find out if he and his friends were hired to beat up Gael." That's an interesting theory. If only she hadn't been copying everything Tana-Gael did, the scene would have been bearable. I'm generally not a fan of her nor of Mar-Gael.

I just LOVED "Sara is lowering herself to Roberta’s level".

Susan, I definitely understand that feeling of "I just want to get this over with". 107 episodes are too many with these storylines. They could tie the whole thing in 10-15 episodes, but they chose 27 more. Oh well.

"Leo is a big , apathetic disappointment" was simply perfect.

It's 20:35 here. Got to sleep! Good night/day to all of you!

Vencer #30

The voice is in The Brat's mind. I don't recall her ever having spoken to him.

Minas #80

Thanks, Weirdo.

I am getting rather fed up with this tale and we still have 27 episodes to go.

After all this time Em/Vic is being cruel to Sebas, even if unintentionally. He doesn't deserve this at all. This is so out of character for her or is she becoming more like Roberta as she fights her?

Nothing new to say about anyone else except to speculate on when Joaquina will finally spill the beans.

Jarifa, thank you for that excellent recap that is allowing me to keep up with this story.

I hope that Franco turns out to be a good guy who knows Dulce and is trying to find her. Paloma deserves some happiness because her parents have had a devastating effect in her life as they scare away her suitors and take advantage of her financially . How could any parent do this to his or her child ? Most parents never want to have a negative impact on their children and never want to be a burden .

The theme of this show seems to be good people coping with bad folks making their lives difficult. Susan

Does anybody know what the time VENCER will broadcast when the new telenovela starts jan 15 at 8pm?

VENCER

Anon, your guess is as good as mine.

Susan, my pleasure! All I can say is that Paloma’s parents are despicable. I, also, hope that Franco doesn’t turn out to be a jerk but it isn’t looking good right now.

VENCER LA CULPA #31

A few important things, but not many, happened tonight to push the story ahead.

FLASHBACK We see Carmina accepting Pablo's marriage proposal. He is so impressed how she has cared for his son.

The narrator says it only takes one step to go from hatred to love but wonders how many steps it takes to go from love to hate. At the end, he adds that one has to be careful because once you run the risk of crossing the threshold of hatred, there is no longer an opportunity for another chance at trust or love.

Manuela takes the brat to the shopping mall. The brat goes to the bathroom and Manuela waits for her outside of the bathroom in the mall. After a good amount of time goes by, Manuela goes to check on the brat but she is gone and has left her phone behind. Manuela freaks out and calls Leandro. She watches the security videos from the mall and sees the brat leaving the bathroom and actively avoiding her. Leandro is quick get involved and to "console" her. (She certainly isn't thinking clearly) They go to prosecutor Bravo who tells them that the brat could be involved in a new "challenge" online popular with teenagers: disappear for 48 hours. When the brat sees that her mother actually opened an account on Amibuk to try to find her, she has had enough and texts Kiro that she is dropping out of the challenge. (so the brat had TWO cellphones?) She contacts her father and he and Manuela go to pick her up. They are unaware that somebody is recording their picking up the brat. They take her home . Manuela has to admit to Leandro that she doesn't know what to do with the brat. Leandro is quick to "comfort" Manuela one more time.

Carmina continues to try to be a support for Pablo hoping to get back with him. He didn't like the apartments they saw but she will help him find one that he likes. She gets a message from the beauty shop. They have photo of Brayan's cousin who they are looking for

Enriques's children want to start businesses in his home . Enrique says he is up to changing his home for a business not for theirs but for Amanda's. His kids say that the house belongs to them, too. Enrique tells Amanda that is true but not before he is dead. Amanda doesn't mind if his children have a business there too.

Manuela tells Vicky she was surprised to see Pablo with his ex. Yes, she was but she still is attracted to him.

Manuela has noticed that the university has not called her to sub.She thinks they are trying to get rid of her.

Leandro's detective tells him that Pablo is selling his house in Guadalajara. Leandro still wants more info but is less worried since he seems to think he is winning Manuela back little by little.

Paloma meets with Yaneli who tells her what her brother told her. Paloma suggests they go talk to Manuela who will know what to do.

Axel is still pursuing Yaneli.

Palma is relentless trying to get Franco to tell her about his ex-novias and his family. He suspects that she is upset about something to do with him but cannot put his finger on it. He is upset with Paloma because he doesn't know where all of these questions about his past are coming from. He would rather their relationship evolve more slowly. Exasperated with no info, Paloma asks her friend Tolita to find out what she can. Tolita finds out that Franco is not from Chihuahua as he says but was born and raised in Mexico City. Paloma confronts Franco about the photos of Dulce and about who he really is. Franco admits he has lied to her. He has HIV.

Jarifa, you masterfully captured the highlights, wisely infusing the gamut of many and varied emotions that coursed through our characters’ minds and hearts.

This is getting more puzzling nightly and I’m really enjoying each successive episode. Now, I am suspicious of most and am tending to trust no one.

I kept wondering. Could Leandro possibly be Kiro? Could he have masterminded all of this to drive Manuela into his arms? Is he simply beyond selfish and manipulating or is he a cold, calculating monster??

The HIV diagnosis was a surprise but has no bearing on the fact I am equally leery of Franco. I can’t think of any plausible explanation as to why he has Dulce’s pictures. And how many of those red bracelets are there??

How any child could pretend to be “lost” causing their parents immeasurable heartache is beyond me. I suppose Julieta gets a tiny bit of credit for not waiting the entire two days to notify her parents. Manuela was so relieved to hear from her, it didn’t seem to register that Julieta called Leandro, not her. Is that important or am I making too much out of it? I tend to never want to give Julieta the benefit of the doubt.

I’m with Niecie and others who haven’t quite forgiven Pablo for casting his son out. The flashbacks show him as so young and vulnerable and why on earth did it take him so long to start searching??

“Paloma suggests they go talk to Manuela who will know what to do”. Manuela does seem to dispense better advice to others than she gives to herself but the jury’s still out.

I like Axel but Yaneli will likely be too afraid to pursue any relationship with him. Is anyone going to come to her aid??

Enrique seems too good to be true. It would be nice if that is indeed the case, wouldn’t it?

Diana

Minas

Thanks, Urban.

I'm also getting a bit fed up with this.

I loved "is she [Emilia] becoming more like Roberta as she fights her?" It seems to be like this.

I'm watching the episode. Worst case scenario the recap will be up tomorrow, although I think I'll manage to finish it today.

Minas de Pasión - Capítulo 81 - Viernes, 29 de Diciembre, 2023

Good people get better, evil ones get worse - Part 1/2

Roberta claims she didn't just say Emilia's name and tells Sara to stop thinking about that dead woman.

Victoria is by Emilia's grave and is praying to the Virgin. Nico comes and asks her why she's here. Vic lies that she knows Emilia was the best mother and she came to ask for advice regarding her son. He says she is a lot like his mom. She asks him if they can be friends; he refuses because Leo and Sara will divorce because of her. Vic says she doesn't want them to get divorced but Nico doesn't believe her. He says Sara is the only mother he has left. Sure, she doesn't love him as much as she loves Romina, but with time...

Vic asks him who brought him here, Nico replies that no one did, he came alone. He asks Vic not to tell his grandmother anything and Vic tells him not to worry. Nico at first can't believe she actually won't say anything and when he does believe it, he's very thankful. Later, Vic calls Joaquina and tells her about Nico. Joaquina goes to the cemetery and Nico leaves with her.

Jenny and Orlando are happy about their baby. Leo calls Orlando and tells him he found the car which almost run Victoria over. Orlando says he's coming.

Gigí meets up with her gal pals to go save Míriam. Really, now? *Eyeroll*

The car hasn't got any licence plates and its owner is pretty much unable to be tracked. Orlando tells Leo whoever did this knew that they were doing and that the prime suspect is Leonardo's mother.

Said mother is looking at a picture of Emilia and a picture of Victoria. How she has these pictures on her laptop isn't explained, just like how can Emilia have a picture of her son at his current age. She scrolls through Victoria's website then closes the laptop telling herself it can't be true.

Gigí and her friends are screaming outside of the house Míriam is locked up in and demand Míriam's freedom. After some threats from Gigí, the guards let them try to open the lock. They mumble that there's no way they'll be able to open it three seconds before Gigí's short haired friend opens the lock. Irony. Míriam runs outside and thanks Gigí and her friends. IIRC, her short haired friend wants to post this on social media, but Gigí says that they didn't rescue Míriam to show people.

Gigí goes to Zaira's and tells her she's getting a divorce. Zaira says she's getting divorced too! They talked about Addled, Zaira's magic and female empowerment. As much as I like the new, empowered Gigí, I can't help but say it's very out of character.

Ramiro, Tigre and Sebas talk about Victoria. They're all, Ramiro included, on her side and not on Roberta's. They agree they have to watch out for Patricio. The miner payed by Patricio overhead them, I think.

Danilo gets the paternity test results. Aleida is there for him. Dan looks at the results and tells Aleida Romina is his daughter! They hug.

Ezequiel is the unlucky fella who informs Addled of Gigí + friends saving Míriam. Addled is enraged.

Roberta tells Fidel her suspicions about Victoria being Emilia. Fidel says they're a bit alike (yeah, only a bit. You know, since they're exactly the same with different hairstyle and eye color) but Emilia died in the fire they caused. At first, Fidel seems to be in Victoria's side, but Roberta threatens him she'll say everything she knows if he isn't on hers. She tells him her plan to export the metals of the mines. If he's with her, they'll share the profit. She says she wants Victoria dead. Oh and Fidel was low-key flirting with Roberta at some point, but it was too cringe and unimportant to add.

Minas de Pasión - Capítulo 81 - Viernes, 29 de Diciembre, 2023

Good people get better, evil ones get worse - Part 2/2

Leo is at the company telling Sebas about Ignacio's dream. I dozed off during that part and I couldn't re-hear it (long story), but I think Leo said something about making some sort of place for the miners to live in. Victoria enters and tells Leo they have to talk about something personal. She tells Sebas to stay, but he says he trusts her and leaves.

Marijó runs into Gael. They're both upset about seeing each other with someone else. Liz called it: Marijó tells Gael she went out with Velos or whatever his last name was to get info on the dudes who beat him up. The convo doesn't end so well, with Mar leaving and Gael going after her.

Sebas tells Míriam he's happy Gigí saves her. Míriam says Gigí is a good woman. She notices Sebas is a bit weird and he admits that she's right and he'd rather learn it from him; he and Victoria are dating. Míriam says she's happy for him, while crying. Ugh. FF-->

Gael records Patricio giving money to the other miner for the snitching. He also gives him money to give his friends for the beat up.

Vic tells Leo not to get divorced for Nico. Leo says his love for her is too big (really? Nice way of showing it) and Vic just tells him to love Sara. Leo asks her why is trying so hard to love Seb when she's clearly not in love with him. Vic now says she's not here to talk about love and that he and Sara should stay together for the kids.

Sara, meanwhile, has taken Romina to some doctor. The doctor says the kid is in perfect health. That hyena tells the doctor to give her some fake medical exams that say Romina is very sick. She says she'll make him an offer he won't be able to say no to: she needs a secretary now that she's running for president.

Back at home, Sara is crying and tells Leo Romy is very sick. I'm also sick, of her, after everything she's done.

Danilo has hacked Nico's computer and has his camera on so Emilia can see him. She thanks him and watches. Dan informs her he's looking up info about Victoria Alcázar. Nico is also holding a picture of his mother. Roberta walks in and freaks out. She violently grabs him from his hand and screams at him. Emilia says she can't do that anymore. She won't let Roberta mistreat her son. "It's time everyone knows I'm alive", she says, with Dan and Al by her side!

And on that note, we have the Fin del Capítulo.

"MINAS" EPISODE#81:

Weirdo: I cringed watching Psycho Roberta getting extremely rough with poor Nico while the Three Amigos (Emilia, Adelia & Dumbass Danillo) watch on the computer over at Three Amigos HQ.

Crazy Whacky Blonde is getting much worse & worse. It's getting much worse for the Good Guys before it'll get better!

Looking forward to seeing Emilia making her grand appearance as herself.

MINAS

Weirdo, another exceptional recap! Your humor was interspersed perfectly throughout giving us greatly needed relief from all the evil machinations. Loved the title!

“Fidel says they're a bit alike (yeah, only a bit. You know, since they're exactly the same with different hairstyle and eye color) but Emilia died in the fire they caused” had me smiling away in appreciation. Exactly right!!

Sara’s crossed the line so many times yet I thought she might be salvageable, if only for Danilo’s sake. But the fact she will pretend Romina is ill leads her down the path of non-redemption.

So now Zaira is getting divorced??? The red nighty (was she wearing it as a shawl 😊?) rebuttal by Tigre obviously hurt her but she’s going to end her marriage over it?

I wish I were more tech savvy so not quite sure how Danilo managed to rig Nico’s computer.

It’s painfully obvious Emilia does not nor will she ever love Sebastian the way he deserves. I did feel for Miriam who capitulated rather graciously and kindly. I felt like yelling at the screen telling her to dry her tears cause it ain’t over til it’s over…

“He says Sara is the only mother he has left. Sure, she doesn't love him as much as she loves Romina, but with time...” was heartbreaking. From Nico’s lips to his mother’s crushed heart.

I had hoped there was going to be a grand revelation with Victoria, in the midst of friends and enemies alike declaring “I AM Emilia”. But no. Roberta, evil incarnate has finally put the pieces together just as Victoria finally realizes she never, ever should have left her son in Roberta’s heinous clutches.

The jig is seemingly up but again, I have to ask, what is the “plan”???

Thanks, weirdo.
You were right about Leo wanting to give the miners a place to live. Sebas was like ýou didn´t get the approval for the canteen and now you want to get them a place to live?'
I have to say I find Leo's attitude towards this business of divorce interesting. Obviously there's no point for these two to stay together, but this makes me wonder if Leo generally wouldn't be the kind of man who puts his wishes first if he is so determined to get divorced. I mean, when E lost the baby, Leo cared more about his own hurt. And he never really did anything to help E. All he does is talk about how he couldn't stop loving her and that's of no use to anyone. Even when Victoria told him Nico needs a mother, Leo somehow didn't seem to grasp how upsetting this was for the kid. He reminds me of Rogelio from eternamente. That one also was self-centered to an amazing degree. These telenovelas make me think that we,as women, are taught to put others first. I just have no other explanation why so many women end up marrying such assholes. I personally know a man who was lucky enough to find a wife who is willing to be like a lady from the 19th c entury. So she is responsible for most things and no complaints because 'the man of the house' only needs to earn money. I wonder what man would marry a female version of Leo. We saw just how useful he is in times of trouble.
I was in shock after that scene with Sara. Jen told her she should get divorcedd. And Sara said she can't abandon her election campaign because she wants to prove to herself she has more power than Roberta. Apparently this, according to her, has given her life a new objective.Isn't Addled the one providing funds for her campaign, funds that Roberta gave him? How does winning with your enemy's money help her feel she has more power? If she did win, Roberta would make her do whatever she wanted by blackmailing her with all that info she has about her. So to win the elction she is going to make-up an illness for Romi. By the end of this even Danilo won't want her. Her only redemption I could see would be sacrificing herself to save Romina.
It doesn't happen very often, but I felt no sympathy for Miriam. Someone told her to goto the police about Addled and her response wasn't that Addled would get off. Her response was that he is Andres' father! So what? If he abused the kid, would she say the same thing because the only thing that matters is that he is the boy's biological father? I imagine she is supposed to do something brave now that Sebas is unavailable for a bit but her way of thinking makes her seem like someone with no sense.
Sorry for ranting but Miriam and Leo with Sara managed to piss me off.

Jarifa, I watched but so much flew over my head. Your recap gave me all the deets I needed.

Franco's revelation. I didn't see that coming at all. Here's hoping he'll give Paloma (and Viewerville) some relief by confessing why he's got Dulce's pics and one of those red bracelets.

That flashback of a younger, kindhearted Carmina floored me. What happened to her to make her so mean?

Vencer

Thanks, Jarifa, I enjoyed your recap. I’m hoping I’m wrong but it seems that both Manuela and Pablo are weakening and being drawn back to their toxic “roommates”! I hope I’m wrong!

Paloma drove me crazy with her questions. She may not need her parents to drive Franco away! I was surprised he has HIV. I had no idea what he had said so learned it reading the recap. I still think he’s one of the good guys.

I didn’t realize the brat had called Leandro. That’s strange when you consider she gave up the challenge when she saw her mother was worried and posting it online.

If Leandro is going to help his mother I think she should keep the shop where it is. Enrique’s kids saying it was their house too made me mad. He should marry Amanda and change his will.

I hope our missing people are alive. It was awful that Pablo basically chose wife #2 over his son. And Genaro seems to know something. Not sure why he won’t tell.

Liz

Minas

Thanks Weirdo, that was excellent. I thought Roberta had realized Victoria and Emil’s were the same person the other night, but apparently she just has suspicions, which maybe Fidel ended. But since Emilia’s ready to get her son back it may not matter.

Ok, so I’m watching two telenovela and they both want the child to have health problems. And people recording on phones, I have to wonder which one I’m watching!

Roberta’s treatment of Nico was horrible, I hated that Emila had to see that. I used to like Joaquina, but she knows what’s going on and does nothing. Plus, she knows Nico doesn’t trust Victoria so not sure how she expects Victoria to help him. Leo needs to man up and remove his family from his mother’s home. Didn’t Marijo say it was her house a few episodes ago. She needs to get control of her money and house and kick Roberta out. Leo should be helping her. How does he miss all the stuff that’s going on?!

Liz

Weirdo , thank you for every frustrating moment.

I wonder how the writers are going to wrap this mess up. I feel like I have stayed too long at this party . We are now just going around and around wasting time until the writers hand out the HEAs and the anvils. I no longer care that I can't watch Uni right now.

Why does Zairie suddenly want a divorce ? Was she disappointed that Tigre didn't like her new pjs? QTH?

I will be fine if Seb ,Miriam , and Andres end up together . At least they are less annoying than the other people in this show.

I also want to see Aleida letting Orlando know that she is his mother and enjoying her grandbaby. Jenny has simmered down, so that will be a happy family after Fidel gets his anvil. Adios, Fidel.

Leo and Em can end up together . Do not care. Susan

VENCER

I enjoyed this latest episode where everything was allowed to just percolate.

Thanks, Diana. Yes, there sure is plenty of fault/blame to go around in this novela even among the supposed "good guys". "I’m with Niecie and others who haven’t quite forgiven Pablo for casting his son out. The flashbacks show him as so young and vulnerable and why on earth did it take him so long to start searching??" Yes, I am also still waiting for the other shoe to drop with Enrique. I hope it doesn't. "Could Leandro be Kiro?" Excellent question.

Niecie, I am glad that my recapcito was useful. Paloma got on my nerves with her endless questions but how Franco's admission to having HIV really answers anything she was asking was lost on me. Guess we will have to wait until Monday. "That flashback of a younger, kindhearted Carmina floored me. What happened to her to make her so mean?" That is another good question that needs to be answered somewhere along the way.

Liz, thanks. "I’m hoping I’m wrong but it seems that both Manuela and Pablo are weakening and being drawn back to their toxic “roommates” " Yeah, I was sort of feeling that way, too with Pablo continuing to allow Carmina to assist him in apartment hunting and finding Damián. Then there was Manuela allowing Leandro to hug her while she was overcome with worry over the brat and then agreeing to go to Everado's dinner. Not good. "Enrique’s kids saying it was their house too made me mad. He should marry Amanda and change his will." I would love to see that happen. They are just as bad was Amanda's kids.

Minas

So many great comments!

Steve, ITA about Sara. She has crossed the line. And I also want to see Victoria telling everyone who she really is.

Diana, thank you for your kind words!
"Sara’s crossed the line so many times yet I thought she might be salvageable, if only for Danilo’s sake. But the fact she will pretend Romina is ill leads her down the path of non-redemption" was very true. This was the last straw for me.

Zaira wanting to divorce Tigre because of him not wanting to "try" was odd in my eyes as well.

Míriam unnerves me very much so I wasn't able to feel any sympathy for her.

What's the plan is a great question. I don't feel like our gang of three ever had a clear plan.

Waterlily, "These telenovelas make me think that we,as women, are taught to put others first. I just have no other explanation why so many women end up marrying such assholes. I personally know a man who was lucky enough to find a wife who is willing to be like a lady from the 19th c entury. So she is responsible for most things and no complaints because 'the man of the house' only needs to earn money" was wise and very true. I also know some people like the woman you described. I am lucky enough to have a very open-minded mother but most people I know teach their daughters to have men as their first priority. Ya basta.

Thanks so much for adding that Sara-Jenny scene. "By the end of this even Danilo won't want her. Her only redemption I could see would be sacrificing herself to save Romina." I agree, but Sara is too selfish to sacrifice herself for someone, even if that someone is her child.

No worries about the ranting! I do that too. I could copy-paste your entire paragraph.

Liz, ITA about Joaquina and Leo. I also think Roberta's eureka moment -which didn't last long- won't matter now that Emi will reveal herself. I wonder why the writers chose to show it this way.

Susan, I understand your frustration and I nodded IRL when I read that "we are now just going around and around wasting time until the writers hand out the HEAs and the anvils".

Míriam actually annoys me more than half the cast so... ITA about Al, Jenny and Orlando. These three, alongside with Sebas, are the only ones who I care about.
