Vino

First, I want to say, I was looking at the times wrong over the weekend. Thank you, Steve for commenting on the time, I double checked and Vino will be showing 2 hours a day for the rest of the week but it will be starting at 2 pm/1 central and going til 4, instead of starting at 3 and going to 5.

Okay, on to today which I meant to check live and make sure the episode did indeed air today but I forgot, so I am assuming it did since it was scheduled. I watched on Vix.

New year same ol' vineyard! lol I was glad that Luci didn't actually barge into David's bedroom and declare her love for him but watching these two play 'Susan, can you please tell David/Luci' right in front of each other was more annoying!! How old are we? I totally get the whole avoiding each other/ talk to Susan instead of me thing, but if that's what you are going to do, AVOID each other! I would say this isn't Jr. High, but this is so totally Jr. High; it's ridiculous!!!

Marta cries, literally cries, about being sent home for a few days and unable to see 'her ninos', did she show even a teeny tiny change in temperament over Luci's heartbreak? Any upset? anguish? Did her day even get less bright? And she's CRYING over having to take a couple days off and not see the kids??? I am so done with Marta, forget Jr. High, she's in elementary school!

If one more person suggests that Luci should think of how Fern feels and how happy she is - first it was Marta and today, it's Tano - I am going to throw something at the TV!!! Buck up Luci, at least the spoiled brat got her way, that should make you feel better!!! In what world would that ever be the right thing to say??? I mean I know Luci genuinely cares about Fern and her welfare which says a lot about the kind of person Luci is, but Fern's welfare was never jeopardized by daddy's relationship with Luci!!! Luci was never the problem; Fernanda was always the one out of line. It kills me that every single person, every single one of them, just accepts this idiotic idea that David and Luci had to break up for the good of the children at face value!!! Not so much as one voice of reason in the whole bunch.... what exactly is in the Kool-Aid at that vineyard? Or wine, or water; or whatever!

I know I'm supposed to be done commenting on the stupidity of breaking up for the sake of the 'kids' angle, but I feel like I have to since no one else is!!! Enough, I'm team Gracie anyway! She finally went to rub it in to Luci, I guess the restraint is snapped!

I want to know just exactly why Gracie and Lil think getting David to give Marta a couple days off because her back hurts is just about equal to getting her fired? Lil even said she was going to make sure Marta never came back, like how do you make that jump? David isn't even upset with Marta, why would he fire her??? This makes no sense! Oh wait, this IS the vineyard where things that make no sense make sense!! Yeah, that's probably what will happen next! :)

I would love to know what the actors actually thought about this script, writing, storylines, etc. I wouldn't be able to say half of this stuff with a straight face.

"VINO" HIGHLIGHTS DISCUSSION:

Darcy: I had the mute button on throughout yesterday's episode. So boring!

Slippery Juan is plotting one final sneak attack. Big question is who's going to be the target of Slippery Juan's next counterattack ? 🤔

Vino. Great comments as usual, Darcy! This episode had a fitting title: "Cansancio extremo." I know, I'm tired of this novela. :) Yep, Marta is as annoying as ever. Thank goodness Luci decides against confronting David about Graciela, at least while drunk. Once again David shows he's not very bright about Marta's need for rest, and she attributes a motivation to him of keeping her away from the children. Ho hum. It's dumb of Juan to return to migrant smuggling--and there's no one else he can blame for it now. Lilian is evil as usual. Cesar is right that David is making a huge error, and Graciela is creepy as usual with Luciana. Luciana really should quit that job. It would be nice if there was a novela in which the heroine kicked both galanes to the curb and found a much nicer romantic interest, more worthy of her. It would make for a nice surprise ending too.

Vino

Well, I can't be annoyed for two hours a day, so I decided today that nothing about this crazy show annoys me anymore. It's just interesting visuals passing by the screen... although I'm thinking I already stopped paying close attention because I didn't even catch that Juan was going back into migrant smuggling, definitely not smart but hey, he's gotta do something to get caught.

So now that Grace has finally convinced David to date her for the good of the children, and they've been together for all of five minutes, she's started the hard sell to get him to marry her for the good of the children! And given the lack of reason, sanity, and sense in most of David's decisions I'm thinking Gracie has a shot, she shouldn't, but she probably does.

It's laughable hearing Fernanda say that Grace is the only one who can make their family happy, so self-involved she can't see that Grace is making her daddy miserable. And of course the kids get to gang up on daddy and throw a fit just because Aunt Gracie is mad and there's no consequence for this. I would have told them they eat breakfast at the table or don't eat breakfast at all, but I'm just mean. Hey, at least we get to see how you take a nice normal kid (Bobby, until a few weeks ago) and turn him into a total brat! It's like a front row seat to seeing how Fernanda was made! No one wanted to see that show, but it's free admission!!

I'm all for Luci ditching both galans! Ditch mommy too!!! Go somewhere far, far, away. I hear they make wine in Italy.

Lilian seemed genuinely upset and surprised that Gut dumped her... she's got a weird psyche. There's a part of her that is like a damaged child, deeply insecure; that's why she's always reading how-to books!!! She's probably the saddest character here, because I think deep down she really does just want to be loved, but she has no idea how to love or be loving so she desperately tries to manipulate instead.

Leon wants to propose to Sonia! At this point, that's about the only wedding I could root for when we finally get to the Por Fin!

I meant to say this yesterday, but I don't buy Adolfo's 'I just want my daughter to rest in peace' reaction. It sounds noble but what father wouldn't want justice for his daughter's death? And he's oh so thrilled to give his daughter's boyfriend half his vineyard because it's what she wanted for the whole 3 months they were dating! LOL But I guess they were engaged, so why not? At least the people at their vineyard are happy and getting along.

Oh, one thing I can't forget, THANK YOU CEASAR!!! Finally someone says, this is absurd!!! He rightfully points out that Gracie hasn't done anything for kids selflessly, she did it in order to get something; David!!! And he's too dumb to hear it or see it. Do I feel sorry for him? Nope, not one single bit!

"VINO" HIGHLIGHTS DISCUSSION/OT:

Darcy: When in doubt, Slippery Juan is going back to migrant smuggling. What else is new ? Gullible Perla is just gullible.

Cesar called it: Crazy Whacky Blonde HATES kids especially Naive Bobby & FerBrat. The truth about Crazy Whacky Blonde whacking Santa Lisa will come out eventually. How long can this Blonde nutjob keep up with the facade ?

My question is Kimberly dos Ramos an evil person in real life ?

Sonia & LionCub: Only exciting thing happening in today's episode.

Fast Forward Moments: Luciana & David: Blah-Blah-Blah!

Had no idea Carito was doing the cooking for Marta temporarily.

PS: Congratulations to the Michigan Wolverines & Washington Huskies on advancing to the 2023 CFB Playoff National Championship. Looking more likely Michigan wins their 12th national championship in a blowout victory.

My beloved Alabama Crimson Tide lost a heartbreaker in the Rose Bowl last night in Overtime.

Vino. So right on about this novela, Darcy. Also, totally agree that Cesar is one of the few sensible characters in it, and David should take his advice. Btw, Italian immigrants pretty much started the wine industry in Napa. I was one of the few kids in my catechism class without at least 1 Italian grandparent. (Como was Napa's sister city). Glad David won his lawsuit and Juan lost. Adolfo could probably use a young business partner, regardless of the tie to Erika. Luciana says she would take David back? Yuck. And yes, it is very jr. high the way Luciana and David communicate--double yuck. Juan is actually right about Graciela. He's the only person who knows she's a killer. Gut's rejection of Lilian will make things worse for Marta. Lilian is dangerous. As usual there are manipulative expressions on Graciela's face when no one is looking. Well done, Kimberly Dos Ramos! And Miguel is right that David is responsible for his own behavior.

Vino

Steve, I doubt Kimberly dos Ramos is an evil person in real life but who's to say? She is very good at acting the part though! I did see her once in a protagonist role, Tierra de Reyes, and she was very good there. I also see that she is cast in a Protag role in an upcoming novela so we'll see if she's equally good in the role of main female good girl. In Tierra, she was one of three sisters and didn't have to carry the weight alone. I am watching Kimberly in Vuelve a Mi on Telemundo too, she plays a very bad girl in that one.

SpanProf, I'm not surprised it was Italian immigrants who started Napa, I have been lucky enough to travel to Italy and I'm not a big wine person but I had to try some Italian wines there. There was this one little bed and breakfast we stayed in, in I forget which city; where they had their own little winery on property and I tasted their wine there, it was very very good!!

Luci left the vineyard like we wanted her too! She only went across town to Miguel and not off to Italy, but it's a start! One thing really confused me in the episode, they had one of those montages that usually mean the passing of significant time, but then after the montage they were still talking about Marta ending her 'vacation' and going back to work. Unless Marta's few days to rest became months off there couldn't have been much time past in that montage!!

The passing of time would make more sense for David's marriage proposal, but I don't really think time did pass, or it passed at one vineyard and not the other? Either way, dumb David is even dumb enough to let Fernanda pressure him into getting married so he'll be settled by the time she goes off to college!!! Dude, you are like 95% of his problem, like if you just went off to college then maybe he could have some freedom to breath. But no, you want to make sure he's good and shackled to his unhappiness so he doesn't do something stupid like free himself from the trap you and auntie set for him when you go. Oh well, I'm team Gracie anyway, and Gracie wins again!!! And gets a nice big diamond ring and Luci gets to show up just in time to be the first to find out! blah.

Elsewhere,

Juan continues to grow desperate and more and more dangerous.

Carito has grown a back bone!!! She tells Perla off and walks out! And good for her, but I worry about her bold declarations of turning Juan in..... she definitely should turn him in, and she definitely shouldn't tell him or Perla that she is going to do it!!

Everyone struggles and laments under the weight of all the work without Luci!!! Kind of makes you wonder how the vineyard survived all those years she was in Mexico, no?

Tune in tomorrow for another zanny day on the vineyard, don't drink the water, kool aid, or the wine whatever you do!!!

Vino

I forgot to say, Leon opening a taco truck is the best idea they've had in all of this novela!!! Tacos!!!! Leon and Sonia continue to be the one bright spot in this show!

"VINO" HIGHLIGHTS DISCUSSION:
Darcy: Noticed your PSA reference about NOT drinking the water, kool-aid or wine because Slippery Juan probably had it sabotaged.

SpanProf: Looking forward to seeing Sonia & LionCub & maybe Carito too.

Vino

Lol, that’s funny Steve! I meant don’t drink the water, wine or kool aide because you might end up thinking, acting and reasoning like these people! But Juan could be a danger too!!

Vino. Even with 2 episodes a day this novela doesn't move along all that quickly. And we got an awful lot of "Will she stay or will she go?" scenes before Luci finally quit. And I agree, Darcy. it's both a good thing that she did and surprising how badly the winery runs without her. OTOH, she practically single handedly saved both wineries from the infestation! I hope Leon's business turns out well--Marta's joining it would be a good idea. And I too wonder if Carito's going to last. D. Adolfo is very friendly, agreeable and sweet. He's probably a great boss. A bad sign that David tells Bobby that he can "become" happy with Graciela. Lilian is getting her revenge against Gut with all her nasty phone calls. I hope it comes back to bite her! David's face when he announced his engagement to Graciela was very revealing! Gabriel Soto does lack of enthusiasm very well.
