Thanks so much, Darcy, for another really fantastic recap. I appreciated some details that I can't believe didn't stick in my skull. For example, Fausto's trying to poison Amelia's mind about Diego.
I've been searching my memory banks for the guys Santi and Roberto went after in Ciudad Juarez. I think that, when we were first introduced to #1 a-hole Fausto, he owed money to those guys. Somehow the idea of kidnapping Andres and selling him was the way to pay the debt. I do clearly remember when Consuelo went there trying to find out where Andres was being held.
My subtitles say Celia, and I'm pretty sure that's what I hear when her name is spoken. And it surely looks to me that the writers came up with Braulio hitting her as a way to get her out of Diego's hair. I've thought all along that Amelia will end up as Danita's mother.
What Sapo said to Braulio is, from what I've read, the sad truth. The cartels now force compliance on the young men they recruit by threatening to kill their entire families.
I've just felt like throwing my shoe at the TV every time they've shown the way Braulio treats his poor assistant. That's another thing I missed, that she's going to be replaced.
Yep! I felt like cheering as well when Martha decided not to be a guilt-ridden doormat for Casandra. If she's paralyzed, I won't lose any sleep.
Braulio really is a dummy. He's opened up his every sin to Tigre and is too dumb and/or arrogant to realize that he's exposed every weakness to someone who could end up biting him in the hindquarters.

Vuelve – pt1
Repeat of Santi missing Nuria’s phone call because he’s in the shower with Liana.
Braulio sits with Celia’s (Thank you Novelera for the correct name) body and imagines Papi, as much as he wants to believe it’s not a murderer, here’s more proof that he is. Tigre arrives and doesn’t even need an explanation, let’s just get rid of the body!
Liana looks at Santi’s phone and sees Nuria called, she calls back! Nuria is happy when she thinks that Santi has called back, but instead she hears the witch’s voice ‘Why are you calling my boyfriend!’ Yikes, Liana tells Nuria that she and Santi are together now, and they are going to get married so Nuria needs to stop calling him! Nuria hangs up and kicks herself for being such an idiot. Turns out she was calling not just for Andres, but because she had decided to give herself another chance with Santi, but no, she’s just set herself up AGAIN! Or so she now believes.
Braulio and Tigre argue about whether getting rid of the body is the best call, personally I would start with checking for a pulse, but ultimately Tigre decides that he will take care of it, that’s what he was called for anyway and both he and Braulio know it.
Diego denies knowing anything about the note and is insulted that Amelia could think that. She quickly agrees that she shouldn’t think it. Diego has been nothing but good to her. Diego says Fausto is Fausto, who knows where his craziness comes from? They need to ignore him. Diego asks if it’s true that she’s leaving Braulio and getting divorced. Amelia says Braulio already moved out and Diego wonders if this means they can be together but Amelia has a question of her own; did you find Celia?
Tigre has found a laundry basket and is hauling Celia out like dirty laundry, he’s almost caught and questioned by a supervisor who thinks he’s an employee but he misdirects him.
Martha and Aida talk about Cassie and how to deal with her attitude, what will happen if she can’t walk? Aida suggests that Martha go back to the support group, it will help her. Martha is torn.
Chalo is telling Euge how Nuria put flyers together and is going to plaster Andres’ picture everywhere. Fausto overhears and throws a fit because he was supposed to be taking care of it!!! Doesn’t Nuria trust him? Chalo says if he were Nuria, he wouldn’t trust the guy who hasn’t even bothered to come visit his wife or baby in the hospital either! Fausto makes a crude comment about how Chalo must like him if he’s keeping track of what he does and doesn’t do. Chalo asks what Fausto’s problem with the police is, and a brawl starts to breakout but Euge breaks it up and drags Chalo away.
Chelo remembers back to meeting Diego and Amelia about Andres, Nuria finding out Andres is alive; and other moments leading up to Nuria’s new search for Andres. Now, everyone is going to find out the truth and she can’t take anymore. She can’t keep this secret any longer.
Amelia and Juandres say goodbye to Diego and Danita. Diego thanks Amelia for taking care of Danita and Juandres makes one more plea for Diego to return to teach at the foundation but it’s not to be. Diego comforts Juan and reminds him that he’ll be busy taking care of his cousin and that he will see him again soon. Diego leaves and Juan can’t help but notice Amelia is sad too, could it be that she too thinks of Diego as her best friend, he asks.

Santi and Liana have an argument about Nuria. Liana admits to looking at his phone and she knows Santi was in Juarez looking for Nuria’s son. Liana is feeling sure of herself tonight and is ready to make an ultimatum, it’s her or Nuria! Santi is standing by his decision to be with Liana, but that doesn’t mean he will stop helping Nuria. The police have done nothing after almost a year and after everything Braulio and Santi have done to her it’s the least Santi can do. Liana doesn’t want to live in the shadow of ‘that woman’ or her son but Santi isn’t going to be manipulated. He lets Liana know that he will never be up for an ultimatum and come to think of it, he needs some space! He’s going to sleep at home tonight, he leaves and Liana seethes.
Chalo’s mom encourages Nuria to call Santi again, even if it hurts her that Santi moved on, he could still help find Andres. He helped Rai after all! Nuria agrees to think about it and has the misfortune of running into Fausto as soon as she’s left alone. Fausto starts in on how Nuria messed up by going to the cops, but he doesn’t get very far before Chelo calls because she needs to talk to Nuria NOW!! She needs to see her to tell her the truth! Nuria wants to come tomorrow and Chelo says come first thing, I can’t take the guilt anymore. Nuria hangs up and Fausto wants to know what’s up, but Nuria tells him it’s just about the baby. She says goodnight, but Fausto didn’t buy it and Chelo is probably in mortal danger right judging from the look on the psycho’s face.
Speaking of, dark black SUV in the middle of nowhere rolls up with Braulio and Tigre about to bury the body. Tigre says ‘let’s go’, but Braulio isn’t up for this, and it looks like Tigre is on grave digging duty alone. Tigre digs and Brualio deals with his tormented mind. ‘It’s not my fault. I didn’t kill her’ he says over and over again. (I’m still waiting for this chick to regain consciousness, but I guess she really is dead)
Cassie’s surgery is tomorrow, and Martha and Adia are optimistic. Juandres gets home and is hopeful too, he’s excited and he mentions he saw Diego today so of course, Martha has to talk to Amelia, heaven forbid she mind her own business!
Tigre continues to dig and grumble about Braulio’s cowardice. He says all the Zepedes are the same, they are murderers but also cowards!!! Tigre is ready to dump the body, and I was right!!! Celia IS alive!!! See, I knew they should have checked her pulse! Unfortunately for Celia, she’s of more use to Tigre dead and as Braulio is looking away from the dig site – Tigre kills Celia!!! Braulio continues in the car ‘I’m not a murderer, I’m not a murderer, I’m not a murderer’ and this time he’s right, but Tigre will make sure he doesn’t know it!!!
Diego calls Celia and leaves a message asking where she is, he’s worried. Braulio sees the call and ignores it. Like clockwork, Celia’s ex shows up on Diego’s doorstep with the police and of course he doesn’t believe Diego that he doesn’t know where Celia is. He wants Diego arrested as an accomplice, but the police don’t have any proof that Diego is lying. Diego shows them the note Celia left and all the messages he’s left looking for her, he mentions that she’s missing from work too.
Braulio continues to fall apart, and Tigre continues his subtle assault on Braulio’s sanity. They finally leave the scene of the burial – even putting on their seat belts! And I didn’t see any sign of anyone seeing them, but I kept wondering about how loud that car beep was when they open and shut the trunk of the SUV.

Time for Martha’s holier than thou rant about how Amelia had better not be with Diego. In fact, she accuses Amelia of still being with Diego and being a slut! Good for Amelia, she tells Martha that she won’t let her talk to her that way even if it is her house. She isn’t going to put up any of Martha’s temper tantrums!!! Hehe. Amelia doesn’t even deny being back with Diego, she simply tells Martha that she should understand as a mother how Amelia feels. She sacrificed everything for her son, but she also can’t control how she feels about Diego. Amelia walks away and Martha is left dumbfounded!!!
Nuria talks with Ro and Euge about Chelo’s ‘news’, they all think she’s going to say she doesn’t want to be with Fausto anymore. They all agree if Chelo wants to leave Fausto they will all support her. This devolves into why can’t men be trusted conversation. Nuria says Rai and Chalo are exceptions and she so hoped Santi was an exception too, but no.
Fausto is at the hospital trying to see Chelo, but he isn’t allowed in because it’s after visiting hours. He throws a Fausto sized fit, but security throws him out anyway. The doctor tells Chelo her baby isn’t premature, and she can go home now. Chelo says she can’t leave yet but the doc says it’s time. It’s not his first rodeo and he isn’t going to say anything to Fausto, that’s up to Chelo but they can’t continue to stay in the hospital, it’s time to go home.
Santi comes home and finds Amelia in the sitting room, he wants to talk about Amelia meeting the real parents of Juandres, and we’re getting close to something folks, because when Santi asks if Amelia remembers the names of Juan’s parents, she says of course!!! I’ll never forget those two, Consuelo and Fausto!!!! Santi is impacted and Amelia wants to know what’s up. Santi wants to know what Juan’s real name is but Amelia doesn’t know, doesn’t want to know. Santi thinks back on all he’s learned and says something is off about Juan’s backstory, it doesn’t make sense. Amelia can’t take this, she’s terrified of losing her son and now Santi is starting this precisely when Fausto shows up again to threaten her!!! What, Fausto is in Mexico City? Amelia confirms. (I don’t understand the hesitation on Santi’s part… he has the matching bracelets, and the confirmation of Fausto and Chelo being involved, it doesn’t take a mathematician to put this equation together)
Fausto calls and leaves creepy threatening messages on Chelo’s voicemail. He’s freaking out and he tells himself to calm down and think.
Santi goes to Juandres’ room and starts wondering, what if…. (What if you took a picture and just showed Nuria and asked her???) Juandres wakes up and is happy to see his uncle there to watch over him.

There doesn’t seem to be any residual animosity between Martha and Amelia from last night, and Martha is heading to the support group before going to the hospital for Cassie’s surgery. Just when breakfast was going to be pleasant, Juandres asks if Diego is going to come by the foundation again today! Amelia says no and Juan says to tell him if he does because he wants to play with Danita. He also wants to give grandma a drawing for Cassie and for her to tell his cousin that he loves her very much. Martha says she will, and Juan gets up to go get the drawing. Amelia grabs Martha’s hand and says ‘Martha, we aren’t at war, everything will be okay.’ I thought it was an odd thing to say, but Martha just smiles and says thank you.
Santi and Alberto talk over what they’ve learned, and Santi has decided exactly what I thought – too many coincidences, no mathematician needed. Alberto gives Santi good advice and tells him to go tell Nuria exactly what he suspects, no more beating around the bush. Santi says that’s what he is going to do!
Braulio’s assistant begs for her job, but it does no good. Braulio throws her out and she leaves crying right as the district attorney arrives! He guesses Braulio must have something good for him and Braulio says yes, I want to give you Sapo Fernandez!
Nuria comes to see Chelo and shares her guess that Chelo wants to leave Fausto and she promises to support her. Chelo says it’s not that. She wants to share something that’s been haunting her for months. She has no peace. She’s the most horrible person in the world and when Nuria hears this she’s going to hate Chelo, for good reason….
Meanwhile, Santi arrives to talk to Nuria but she’s not there and he gets Ro instead. Ro gives him the whole ‘Leave Nuria alone she doesn’t want to talk to you, and she knows you’re with someone else’ speech but Santi insists, and Ro insists some more; but before the argument can get any further, Santi notices a picture of Andres!!!! He asks who it is, and Ro confirms it’s Andres! The son of Nuria!!! And we fade to black.

Thanks again, Darcy. What a fine and detailed recap! You got a real humdinger. I am, I'm afraid, too jaded by years of TN watching to believe that Chelo will manage to tell Nuria tonight that she's known for weeks where Andres is.
"personally I would start with a pulse"...Good one, Darcy! Celia was a pretty despicable character, but bashing her to death with a shovel was awful.
I am enjoying Chalo getting in his digs at Fausto. The women in this novela have let him win every battle. Ever since he arrived in D.F., he's behaved like HE owns the pension instead of Ro.
Liana was not using her head last night. Giving ultimatums to a man you already know "just isn't that into you" is a foolish move.
I enjoyed Amalia not taking crap from Martha. Sheesh, she got a good look at what a loser her son is. Where does she get off lecturing Amalia?
I'm having trouble figuring out the timing on this one. I think it runs through January. But, if Santi now knows where Andres is, how can they fill the rest of the month?
