I will put up a recap of Monday's New Years Day episode a bit later today. Again...surprised they do the regular show on national holidays.

1/1/24 – Pt 1 of 2

We again see Santiago find the photo of Juandres at the pension. He connects the dots. He remembers time spend with Juandres and having mentioned Nuria to the boy.

There was once on this site a list of some stereotypical telenovela tropes. One of them all veteranos recognize. A character is about to “spill the beans”. They stammer a bit, clear their throats, and say several times that they are about to drop a bombshell. Then Viewerville gets deflated for the thousandth time as the “big reveal” is somehow thwarted.

While idiot Chelo keeps not really telling her sister where her child is, Fausto comes in bringing the baby. He announces that his strong kid is out of the incubator and ready to go home. He gives Chelo the baby and gives her some crazy eyes. [I really, really hope that, before he gets killed off or put in the slammer for the rest of his days, he finds out the kid is Jacinto’s.]

Casandra talks with Ari, the now sorta reformed thug boyfriend. She whines and regrets being such a pain in Martha’s hindquarters.

Braulio is with the official (DEA? FBI? Don’t know.). His plan is to somehow extricate Sapo from his cohort of evil guys and turn him over to the feds. No details are forthcoming.

Liana, as usual, does no work at the office. She’s full time obsessing about Santi. Then Tigre comes in to announce that he’s Roberto Zepeda’s side kid. [I still don’t believe this is true.] He goes on to tell Liana the whole thing about Roberto sending people to burn up his mother’s house with her inside it.

Fausto plays good daddy in front of Nuria and Chelo.

Martha tells Casandra that she’ll have the surgery today. But the doctor doesn’t guarantee she’ll walk again. Casandra begs Martha’s pardon for her recent jackassedness.

Braulio stops by the Zepeda house again. He puts on a fine example of being the most despicable, self-centered jerk, one who should probably have had a vasectomy when he was five years old. He tells Juandres that Amalia is getting a divorce because she’s in love with Diego. He does a truly bad acting job of pretending to be sorry to tell the boy this.

Chelo tells Nuria she plans to leave Fausto when they get out of the hospital and THEN she’ll tell Nuria everything. Pffft!

Tigre keeps babbling everything to Liana. Loose lips, Tigre! He tells her the biggie about Juandres being Nuria’s child. He also says that Braulio doesn’t know because he never met the child while romancing Nuria in Juarez. He also intimates that the kid may be the most important thing in Nuria’s life, and Liana smiles.

1/1/24 – Pt 2 of 2

Sapo is leering at a photo online of Amalia and then one of Martha. If Braulio doesn’t come up with his drugs in 24 hours, he’ll kidnap one of the two. He hasn’t decided which one yet.

Santiago tells Alberto, the hacker sidekick, about Juandres. First they showed him desperately trying to find out where Nuria is. Now he’s worrying about the pain this will cause Amalia. [Another telenovela stalling tactic, for sure.] Alberto tells him he has to tell Nuria and pronto.

Martha shows up at the place where the mothers of the disappeared children meet. She sees the poster with Andres’ photo on it and does a royal freak out.

Liana walks in on Alberto and Santiago, saying something about their having an “adult” talk about their relationship. Santi doesn’t look exactly pleased to see her.

Amalia rips into Braulio for being the kind of jackass who hurts at child to get back at its mother. She tells him how Roberto would feel if he knew about this, sending Braulio back to trying to convince himself he isn’t a killer. He also remembers “killing” Celia. The camera homes in on Celia’s purse in that field where she was buried. We see that Diego is calling her.

Juandres is sobbing in his room, refusing to let Amalia in. He’s also angry with Diego, calling him a liar.

Martha comes home in a tizzy because of having seen the photo of Juandres. Amalia tells her what her prize jerk of a son did, and that Juandres is suffering. She says that she’d die if she lost him. Martha gets big eyed and probably isn’t going to speak up about what she knows.

Diego comes to the Zepeda retail store looking for Celia. When Euge and Carmen say they haven’t seen her, he tells them about the police also looking for her for the pyramid scheme.

Tigre promises Chenta something. About a job? Wasn’t sure. Then he sits down in Braulio’s empty office and makes an anonymous call to the police about seeing someone burying a body!

Martha does a great job of comforting Juandres.

Santi comes to see Nuria at the place where the women’s group meets. He tells her they need to talk. But before he can say anything, Liana walks in saying something about her and Nuria having it out. She says this before she sees Santiago. This should be good!

Novelera, thank you for the excellent recap. Things are moving along .

Fausto showing up just before weeping willow Chelo was going to spill the beans to Nuria was inevitable .He seemed to be threatening the baby. He had those crazy eyes. I am sure we are all looking forward to Fausto finding out that the supposed fruit of his loins is actually the fruit of Jacinto's loins.

Can't wait to see Santi react to Liana's appearance . I hope he goes ballistic. Onward we go. Susan

Vuelve

Thank you Novelera, what an impactful episode and you captured it all!

We were surprised on Friday that Santi found out about Juandres, and now Liana and Martha know too! I'm sure Aida isn't far behind but I haven't watched last night's episode yet so I am guessing. The truth has to come out sooner than later right? Too many people know now, right?? LOL It feels too soon but then again they can do a lot with the impact and fallout after the truth does come out, so maybe...

I was surprised that Tigre spilled the million dollar secret to Liana! I mean it's not much of a secret now, but he doesn't know that, and I would have thought he'd want to guard it as his own ammunition! I'm not surprised he reported the body, surely he wants Braulio to go down for that one.

I like the pace of this, it keeps me intrigued, but doesn't go at such a lightening pace to where it feels like information overload.

Yep, Braulio is a jackass!!! I was so mad watching him go after Juandres like that! Creep!!!

Susan, I am surprised that I am enjoying Fausto's crazy eyes! I saw this actor play a 'good' guy and I didn't like him, he's doing excellent in the role of the bad guy. Good enough to actually make your skin crawl! I put good in quotes because he was supposed to be the good guy but I didn't think his character was all that good. Actually, he was kind of creepy playing good too! lol

Vuelve

Darcy, in which show did the actor playing Fausto play a good guy ? He looks familiar to me, but I can't place him ! susan

Vuelve

Susan, it was in Medicos. He played galán #2, the one that doesn’t get the leading lady but is still supposed to be a good character. The characters name was Arturo, and he didn’t get an anvil so I concluded he was supposed to be considered a good guy but I thought he was creepy, stalkerish, and controlling.

Vuelve

Okay . I guess that is where I saw him . I forget some of these shows almost as soon as they end . Was Livia Brito a Dr in that one ?
Susan

Vuelve

Susan, yes, that's the one. It was 2020ish though I didn't watch it when it originally aired, I watched it more recently on Vix which is why I can still remember who was in it.

1/2/24 – Pt 1 of 2

Viewerville wonders how the conversation between Santiago and Nuria would have gone had Liana not marched right in behind Santiago. Nuria refuses to talk to either of them. She says that she never would have called Santiago had she known that his girlfriend now answers his phone. Santiago asks Liana to leave, but she keeps badgering Nuria and winds up this diatribe by saying that she and Santiago are going to get married.

Aida tells Martha that Nuria can’t be Juandres’ mother. We see flashbacks of Amelia telling Aida about the extortion of Fausto and Consuelo, with Chelo saying she’s the child’s mother.

Liana is just awful in this confrontation at the women’s group meeting place. She tells Nuria she hopes that she never finds her son. During all this Santiago stands around like a mental defective, appalled but seemingly unable to stop the train wreck. Nuria tells Liana: te lo regalo (I give him to you or he’s all yours.)

Before she goes into surgery Casandra asks Mariano to promise to help Ari and to keep him from being arrested. Later on, Ari’s parents come to plead for their son and Martha goes all self-righteous, saying he has to pay. If this stands, Casandra is not going to forgive her.

Diego tells Euge and Carmen that he’ll try to get the money Celia conned from other GZ (Grupo Zepeda) employees.

Tigre has gotten Chenta a nice suit and brings her to GZ to interview as Braulio’s new assistant. She’s furious because of what he did to Nuria (deceived her that he was single and tried to rape her). But eventually Tigre convinces her to take the job by telling her it’s a way to get off the streets. I can’t tell whether or not Tigre gives a rat’s patootie about Chena or if it’s just part of the plan.

We get another crazy telenovela courtroom scene. Mario, the femicide, is on trial. He actually admits to their having a fight in which she ended up dead. Of course he says the usual crap about her flirting with other men. Chalo, Ros, and others stand up and yell out loud in the courtroom. The judge admonishes them over and over, but nothing really changes. In the end, Mario is acquitted. I guess this is meant to be a PSI about the justice system for women in Mexico, but it did not go down well with me.

The cops come to tell Diego that Celia’s body was found.

Now that it’s too late for Nuria to witness it, Santiago grows a spine. Liana accuses him of seeing Nuria behind her back, but she loves him enough to forgive him. She tries to get him to swear he’ll never see Nuria again. He finally tells her he’s fed up with her jealous, controlling behavior. And it’s over between them. He says he’s not going to stop helping Nuria to find her child.

After he leaves Liana says something about Nuria’s child being the most important thing to her, and she’ll get her that way. Does she plan to kill Juandres? She clearly hasn’t watched enough telenovelas. Those three, Nuria, Santi, and Andres, will be together at the end.

Diego comes to tell Amalia about Celia’s body being discovered. Juandres comes in and yells at Diego that he came between his parents, and he hates him.

1/2/24 – Pt 2 of 2

Fausto comes to Nuria saying something about postpartum depression, but probably to find out what Chelo has been saying to Nuria. Nuria tells him her attitude toward him is because of what he said about choosing the baby over Consuelo during the birth. He tries to excuse himself. He then has the brass cojones to say that she should understand how he felt about losing a child.

Santi talks with Alberto again about telling Nuria about her child vs breaking Amalia’s heart. Alberto says the only sensible thing in this whole episode. Maybe if Andres saw Nuria he’d regain his memory.

Braulio is in his office being hooked up to a wire. He calls Sapo to set up a meeting while the whole DEA or whoever they are look on.

One good thing came from the sham trial. Novelera learned a new word: fallo, which means decision or ruling by a court.

Saintly Nuria visits Violeta in prison, bringing her some tacos. At least Violeta apologizes. And she tells Viewerville that Santi is paying her legal bills.

Santiago comes to confront Fausto. He grabs him and asks him why he and Consuelo led Amalia to believe that Juandres was their child and also extorted money. {Santi, the reason is obvious…$$$.) Santi and Fausto have a pretty fake looking fight where no punches are landed.

Sapo has come to the meeting with Braulio. Looks like it’s in a big parking garage. We see sharpshooters and lots of cops hiding. Braulio tells Sapo that he’s trying to cover things up with the Board of Directors, and he wants Sapo to stop using the GZ trucks to move the merch for a while. Sapo tells him basically that he owns him.

Just then Tigre, somehow nearby in a vehicle, texts Sapo that Braulio has set a trap and that the police are here. We see Sapo pull out a gun and then it’s time for the credits to run.

Thank you Novelera!

It's so frustrating to me to see those scenes where the guy is there to tell the girl the one most important thing she needs to know, and the girl none the wiser is rattling off the 'leave me in peace's and the 'I don't know to talk to you's'. Add a Liana in there and you REALLY have a mess!!! But I guess I should have known that Nuria wouldn't find out on the first try on telling her the truth... Liana is really a monster!! She knows the truth and still mocks Nuria relentlessly.

That courtroom scene didn't sit right with me either. We've seen dozens of them where justice isn't served and the guy lies and gets off, or bribes the judge, etc etc etc. I don't think I've ever seen one where he actually admits he did it and still gets off!!! Wow

Nuria is a saint for visiting Violeta!! But it's nice to see in a way, this world needs more compassion.

I agree that Santiago and Fausto's fight looked fake but I enjoyed it anyway!! It was nice to imagine Fausto getting a tiny sliver of what's coming to him!!!

Well, I gotta get back to work. I took notes for last night's episode and I will type them up and post a recap later this afternoon/evening when I get off work!

Vuelve

Novelera , thank you for bringing us every moment .

Did we just get a disturbing PSA that a man can get off murdering his wife if she was flirting with other guys? Yikes . That is a terrifying message . Has that actually happened in Mexico ?

Santi standing there looking dumb as Liana rants and raves at Nuria was ridiculous . Galan paralysis.

I think that Carmen and Euge will end up together . Now that Chalo has suddenly decided that he wants Euge, she doesnt seem interested in him. Chalo, you are a day late and a dollar short .
Susan

Vuelve – 1/3/23 part 1

Starting with the Sapo and Braulio showdown. As we saw yesterday, they have a meet but Tigre sends a text to Sapo warning him that the cops are there and all hell breaks out. Sapo grabs up Braulio and is holding him behind a pillar while the crossfire is going down, he tells Braulio that he’s a dead man! But he doesn’t just kill him right then and there because that would be too efficient! Or maybe it’s what Tigre suggests later and Sapo would rather make Braulio suffer by killing off his family first, then he’ll kill him later. Sapo manages to escape of course, and the always spectacular novela cops lose him in traffic in short order. When the shooting is over Tigre plays the role of concerned henchman and runs to make sure Braulio is safe. Braulio is smart enough to realize someone must have sold him out and that’s why Sapo went off right after reading a text, but he shows no sign of suspecting Tigre. Braulio exchanges harsh words with the cops, telling them they are responsible if anything happens to him or his family, but the DEA guy is good at standing up for himself and he points out that Braulio made his own choices. He says they will double the protection duty around Braulio’s family, but Braulio only wants protection for his family if it’s invisible. He’s worried about them but not worried enough to let them find out they are in danger because he is doing business with gangsters! No way, gotta protect the image.

Santi and Fausto’s brawl may have been poorly choreographed, but I still enjoyed someone other than Fausto getting the upper hand for a change. Santi’s asks questions and makes accusations between punches, but I could have told him that wasn’t going to work! Fausto is a liar and a coward; no way was he coming clean! He deny, deny, denies and this fight ends with Santi knowing nothing more than he already did and Fausto knowing he’s in hot water now!

Chelo is going home tomorrow and asks the doc to call Nuria and not Fausto to come get her. She again thanks the doc for not spilling the beans to Fausto about the not preemie, preemie. Doc sort of shakes his head and walks out, Chelo is left alone, we see through flashbacks that she is thinking back on memories with Jacinto.

Cassie wakes up from surgery but can’t move yet, her grandparents try to assure her that they need to wait for the anesthesia to wear off. Cassie asks about Ari, but Martha doesn’t answer. After Cassie falls asleep, Martha makes it clear that her mind is made up, she’s going to keep that Ari away from Cassie no matter what!!

Juandres is still mad at both Amelia and Diego and is still throwing a fit about it. He arrives home with Amelia and she’s trying to reason with him but he stomps and yells and tells her to leave him alone because she’s a liar! Liana arrives to see this and offers to talk to Juandres – methinks this is just a bad, creepy idea but Amelia agrees. Liana goes into Juandres’ room and the initial talk goes well enough, Liana even almost makes inroads by pointing out that at least Juandres has his parents (sort of), hers are dead. Not one to bring a potent moment home, Liana quickly drops this subject and suggests they do something fun, she wants to go swimming!!! Juandres isn’t sure because he’s not a very good swimmer, but Liana says auntie will teach him and take care of him!!! Viewerville, can hear the ominous music starting in the background.

Fausto is out of here!! He’s not sticking around to go to jail now that Santi knows everything. He packs up a few clothes, his gun, his dinero and splits! Lying to everyone on his way out, that he is just bringing stuff to Chelo.

Vuelve – 1/3/23 part 2

Celia’s ex (whose name I still can’t remember) comes to Diego’s place to snarl once again about whether or not Diego has found her, and Diego immediately goes into attack mode thinking this jerk killed his daughter’s mother. Accusations are hurled but ex didn’t have any reason to kill Celia, he needed her alive to own up to her crimes!!! This ends in a sort of hostile truce and Diego lets the guy go.

Nuria comes home to find out that Mario went free. Everyone is demoralized but Nuria says the fight is just beginning, they are going to make sure that this injustice goes viral!!! They aren’t going to roll over and play dead like the authorities want them too. Even Angustias’ spirits are lifted a little and she is determined to keep fighting.

Juandres fears the big pool, but Liana belies this with some comforting words about protecting him every second, and then without any more pomp, she just tosses him into the deep end and sits back down in her chair! This viewer was actually shocked by this, I expected her to do something more cunning, subtle and crafty but apparently, she’s going full psycho today! Juandres struggles and screams for help as Liana looks on bored, but of course Aida arrives to the rescue! The second Aida shows up, Liana reacts and jumps up and into the pool, fussing and crying to high heaven like the concerned aunt she isn’t. This goes on for a couple minutes and a few chest compressions, but Juandres eventually wakes up. Sadly, he doesn’t seem to remember that Auntie pushed him into the pool and doesn’t contradict Liana’s account of him having fallen. Aida points out that Juandres was screaming for help and Liana was sitting there doing nothing, but Liana claims it was shock and she’s just so happy Aida snapped her out of it when she did! Even after the near-drowning Juandres still doesn’t want mommy, he wants to stay with Aunt Liana who saved him!

Alberto tells Santi off for showing his hand to Fausto, but Santi isn’t concerned, he’s not going to be intimidated by some criminal. Alberto points out that Fausto isn’t just some criminal, he’s an ex-cop, he knows his way around the block. And do you know why he was fired? Because he was involved in fraud and trafficking. This turns on light bulbs for Santi and he says it must be Fausto who kidnapped Andres. Alberto wants to report Fausto right away so he doesn’t have time to wiggle out of this, and because he’s very dangerous; but Santi is worried about Nuria finding out Chelo is involved, it will break her heart! He needs to find out just how involved in all this Chelo is before they do anything else.

Amelia comes home and finds Juandres recovering on the couch with Tia Liana and Aida. She is told all about the ‘accident’ and she tries to love-on Juandres but he’s still stubbornly resistant. Liana’s ruse has worked and viewerville groans as Amelia offers her undying gratitude to Liana for saving her son. Liana gets up to help Juandres to his room and has a nice dizzy spell – that’s right folks, we have a pregnancy watch….sigh.

Sapo calls Braulio at work to deliver the required ‘You’re dead’ speech and Braulio tries to backpedal, defect and beg; but nothing doing. Sapo is going to kill his mother, his brother, his wife and son and leave them in pieces, he hopes Braulio likes jigsaw puzzles!

Martha shows up in Braulio’s office and tells him about Juandres, demanding to know if he stole Nuria’s child. Braulio doesn’t believe her that Juan is Andres at first, but she shows him the flyer. Surprisingly, Martha is team tell Nuria the truth, but Braulio is willing to keep the secret! He doesn’t want to lose his son!!!! Martha says they can’t do that to a mother and Braulio counters that he’s not talking about staying silent forever, he just needs time to think.

Vuelve – 1/3/23 part 3

The march for Andres is tomorrow and the residents of Ro’s apartment building deal prepare for that while dealing with the fallout of Mario’s release. Euge tries to comfort Chalo who can’t find the faith to believe this will work out. Ro rages and Rai calms her with his assurances that love will win in the end. Nuria and Chenta talk about the injustice of the decision before moving on to their growing suspicions of Fausto’s behavior. Nuria next wants to hear all about Chenta’s new job, but Chenta beats it out of there with an excuse about her kid’s dinner burning so she won’t have to tell Nuria where she is working.

Chalo proposes to Euge, he has the ring and everything. She looks scared and she doesn’t answer right away but when Chalo asks what’s wrong she says it’s just shock and that she’s worried that he’s just asking because he’s trying to find some solace after what happened. He assures her that isn’t the case, he’s been planning to propose all week and he believed that Mario would be found guilty. He told mommy about it and everything! He asks the big question again, and Euge pauses again but then she says yes.

Diego wonders who killed Celia if it wasn’t the ex. Could it have been that guy who was coming to see her… I’m not sure who he’s talking about here, but I’m guessing I missed it when Diego either found out about Celia seeing someone or suspected it. So, he’s suspecting Braulio, without knowing it’s Braulio he’s suspecting.

Liana is ranting and raving again about Santi and Nuria to her assistant (I forget her name too). The assistant says Liana is losing it and needs therapy (no kidding) but Liana says that what she needs is an appointment with the gyno….so, does she suspect she’s pregnant??? She’s drinking.

Carmen comes home to find Chalo and Euge discussing their engagement. Euge is uncomfortable and those looks she’s giving Carmen are intense!!! Chalo doesn’t notice of course. Carmen manages to congratulate them in a very subdued way, but she excuses herself quickly. She does learn they have no wedding date yet, Chalo is eager and Euge is begging off saying they need to wait and give time for things to settle and to not steal Ro and Rai’s thunder.

Braulio looks at the missing person’s poster and thinks back to when Nuria first lost Andres. He says he has Nuria’s greatest treasure in his possession!!! He also thinks about not wanting to lose his son and flashes to memories with Juandres. He seems almost genuine in his affection for Juandres, but no one would truly loved their child could have done what Braulio gleefully did to him just yesterday.

Chelo and the baby make it home to bring joy to the apartment building. They can’t help smiling and enjoying the baby despite their pain. Fausto’s MIA status is mentioned but not dwelt upon.

Santi finds Chenta (who looks very professional) at the office and learns of her new job. She makes a snide comment about how everyone ends up working for the Zepedas eventually. Santi starts to ask about Nuria and Chelo and even though Chenta wants to deflect him she doesn’t quite manage it and ends up telling him that Chelo was released and is home now. Santi needs to see her.

Everyone at the apartment building except Chelo, the baby, and Rai are off to the march. Chelo takes care of the baby and wonders if something happened to Fausto. She looks and notices his clothes and money are gone. She goes back to the baby and tells him that she will make sure nothing happens to him. He belongs with her!

Vuelve – 1/3/23 part 4

The march is on, and everyone is decked out in Andres shirts with signs, demanding justice.

Back at the building, Chelo is looking for Nuria and learns from Rai about the march and that there are now posters everywhere with Andres’ picture. Before she can react to that, Santi shows up. Chelo and Rai try to get him to leave but Santi says he’s there precisely to discuss people who hurt Nuria, like Fausto for example!! Chelo agrees to talk to Santi and asks Rai to take the baby, Rai does and leaves and just as our episode is about to fade to black Santi tells Chelo that he’s there to talk about what Chelo and her husband did with Nuria’s son!

Darcy , thank you for all the dark, disturbing details .

Liana is a bitter itch who has certainly hidden her true nature from Amelia . I suppose Liana is pregnant by Tiger , but she will tell Santi and Nuria that Santi is the dad. I wonder if Kimberly enjoys playing all these bad girls ...blonde and brunette.

I hope Chelo is squirming Now that Santi has started figuring out that Fausto took Andres and Weepy is involved . boohoo

That store evidently has a revolving door since everyone who needs a job eventually ends up there ....Euge, Vi, Nuria, Carmen , and now Chente. I wonder if Chente now gets to keep those clothes that Euge and Carmen let her borrow.

Thanks, all, for keeping me up to date over the holiday. Just can't get the family to get in to novelas. Don't know what's wrong with them. Or what's wrong with Santi who seems to so badly want to tell what he knows but can't get in the middle of Liana and Nuria and yell "Shut it, y'all, and also Juandres is alive!". Or just regular Andres, I guess, at that point. But it shouldn't have been that hard. I did enjoy his fight with Fausto and I think they did too. But mostly I hope that Nuria punches everyone in the face who knew about Andres and didn't spill. She can start with Martha, just because even her hair is terrible.

Here's a real PSA to make up for the "how to get away with being an abuser" one: Watch your kids around water. It only takes a second for them to drown. Fence your pools. Learn CPR. And make sure the babysitter isn't a psychotic murdered hell-bent on revenge for her boyfriend having dated before.
