Thanks so much for the terrific recap, Darcy! It would be nice if you could somehow see me nodding along vigorously with every one of your asides and digs at some of the plot points.

Yep, I'm glad my town doesn't have telenovela cops. I sleep better at night. And, thanks for pointing out that Braulio only wanted invisible cops for protection, lest Martha and Amalia catch on that the narcissistic jackass put them in danger.

Yes, I loved Fausto's scared eyes instead of crazy eyes. I can't quite hope we've seen the last of him. I was afraid he was going to the hospital to pick up "Faustito" (really Jacintito).

Martha continues to drive me nuts. Let me count the ways: 1. Obsessing over baby booties 2. Believing Santi killed his ex 3. Trying to talk Mariana out of giving Amalia the baby 4. Insisting Nuria wants Zepeda money and 5. Letting Ari rot in jail because SHE knows best.

Celia's ex is Ezequiel.

The writers were doing a decent job with Juandres early on, but they've let him down recently. His personality change is annoying. And how in blazes could he forget Liana threw him in the pool?

These writers are also staying up late writing conversations for Santiago in which he NEVER tells Nuria about her child.

Why, oh why did they have to give us the pregnancy watch? If it's true, there's several candidates for baby daddy. Braulio, Tigre, and the least likely being Santiago. Unless these writers break with tradition, Santi isn't the father but will be told he is.

IMBD tells me Liana's assistant is Mia.

Vuelve – 1/4/23 part 1

Santi starts in on to Chelo, who plays dumb – but Santi knows too much for her to succeed. Since he’s heard from Amelia, he knows she met with her, she lied about being Andres’ mother, she and Fausto extorted Amelia, etc. Chelo continues to deny knowing anything, but Santi says pleds with her to take this opportunity to tell the truth to him, before Nuria and the police find out and demand the truth from her.

Tigre and Braulio argue about Tigre not knowing or finding out about Juan. Braulio goes off, this is what Brualio pays Tigre for, he is supposed to research and look into these things! How is it possible that his mom found out before they did. Tigre plays dumb too – it must be play dumb day. Braulio’s overwhelmed with all this on top of Sapo. Tigre is subtly tickled to see Braulio losing it.

Amelia continues to try to make up with Juandres and assure him that they will always be a family even if they are divorced. She tells him a whole bunch of very reasonable things about how families look lots of different ways, but Juandres isn’t interested in hearing this, he wants a family united! He wants her to make up with daddy if she loves him as much as she says, she would do it for him.

Martha and Aida discuss the whole Juandres is Nuria’s hijo mess again.

Chelo continues to play dumb with Santi until he gives up and says he’s just going to report her and Fausto to the police, he’s sorry for her baby but that’s what he has to do. He starts to walk away and Chelo finally blurts out that Fausto did it! He’s been threatening her ever since, he threatened to kill her, to kill Nuria, and he’s also threatening to take away her baby! Please, Santi has to believe her. Santi encourages Chelo to tell the truth even though she’s scare she still must do the right thing. Nuria has suffered too much with the loss of Andres. Don’t worry about Fausto, Santi says, he’ll report him, and he will be arrested. Chelo says Fausto escaped, he took his money and his clothes and took off! Santi realizes Fausto split because he confronted him and tells Chelo this. Santi says they must tell Nuria, where is she? Chelo demurs, if they tell Nuria and Fausto realizes that Nuria knows he’ll come for her and her baby!!! Santi isn’t moved, where’s Nuria, he repeats.

Liana arrives at work and Mia asks how the gyno appointment went. Liana isn’t in the mood to chat. Cancel all my appointments and get out, she orders! I don’t want to see anyone! Mia tries to ask questions and Liana screams in her face! Left alone, Liana reads the positive pregnancy test. She is not happy.

Diego talks with Celia’s mom about plans for the funeral, she is going to bury Celia back home. She thinks Diego should go back too. That way she can help him with Danita, she can watch her while he’s at work. Diego thinks she might be right, he doesn’t have anything left to do here in the city.

Mariano asks the doctor how long they have to wait before they know if the surgery worked, they still have a while to wait. Alberto comes to visit, and they chat about Cassie and Martha. Alberto questions Mariano, he is so dedicated to Cassie he can’t bring himself to leave the hospital and he obviously has feelings for Martha, but does she feel the same?

A crying Chelo is approached in the courtyard by Rai. I figured she would have one of those famous crying novela conversations where she doesn’t really reveal anything, but to my utter shock she tells him the truth!!! Surely Nuria is really going to find out soon now, too many people know for this to remain a secret from her much longer!

 

Vuelve – 1/4/23 part 2

Liana has made up her mind, she’s not going to have the baby. A baby would ruin her life and her career! She gets instructions from the doctor for how to take the pills, I guess they are doing abortion by pill now? Tigre comes in before she can take the pills and gives her the news about Braulio not getting killed and Braulio and Martha finding out about Juandres. Liana too realizes that too many people know the truth now and that Santi must know because he was investigating it. That must be what he was about to tell Nuria yesterday! Sapo calls Tigre, he answers on speaker phone while signaling Liana to be quiet. Sapo says Tigre better not have been involved in Braulio’s double cross and Tigre says of course he wasn’t, that’s why he warned Sapo in text. Tigre confirms his loyalty is to Sapo as always, and Sapo says that’s good because Tigre is going to help him kill Braulio. Hearing this, Liana thinks back to the day Braulio raped her and smiles.

Braulio and Martha have another conversation about what to do about the Juandres situation and Braulio wants to make sure Martha hasn’t told Amelia. Martha says she hasn’t, but they need to, they can’t keep this secret, it’s going to come out. Aida rushes in to let them know Nuria is on the news and there are pictures of Juandres everywhere! Martha knew it, it’s too late!!! Amelia walks in at exactly that moment, too late for what?

Back at the march Nuria is making an impassioned plea for the return of her son as Santi arrives. He walks right up to her, interrupting her speech and they do the novela stare for a minute until Santi finally says, ‘I know where he is!!!!!!!!’ ‘What?’ Nuria asks, ‘really?’ ‘Where is he,’ she asks desperately. Santi tells her it’s a long story and they should talk privately someplace quiet.

Back to the living room with Martha, Braulio and Amelia; and again, I am ready for a near reveal which Braulio attempts by claiming they were talking about work, but Martha repeats, it’s too late, the whole world knows! She gives Amelia the news, they found the real mother of Juandres, and it’s Nuria!!! Amelia is confused because she ‘knows’ who Juandres’ real mother is, and it’s Consuelo!

Alberto and Mariano continue to talk about Martha and Alberto encourages him to go for it! We learn Alberto is divorced, precisely because he closed off his heart from his wife and didn’t share his feelings with her. She got tired of it and left.

Amelia thinks it’s impossible that Nuria is Juan’s mother, but Martha tells her she saw the posters and it’s all over the news! Amelia says it can’t be true! She’s met the parents of Juan, their names are Consuelo and Fausto! Braulio is beside himself; how could he not know she did this??? When did Amelia meet them? How did she find them? Why didn’t she tell him? Fausto and Consuelo aren’t the parents of Juan, he informs her, they are Nuria’s sister and brother-in-law!! They played her for a fool!

Aw, Diego is already packed and ready to go, but before my heart can break entirely, he changes his mind! He’s staying to find out what happened to Celia. He promises that he won’t keep Danita from grandma.

Santi gets Nuria alone to talk – interestingly, she’s changed out of her Andres shirt and is in a dress now!?! Nuria wants to know where Andres is and wants to be taken to him immediately, but Santi wants her to hear him out first. Nuria is understandably impatient, but Santi wants to make sure she knows the whole story, especially that he didn’t know what Andres looked like until now. He does tell her immediately that Andres is alive, which is quick reassurance, but Nuria is impatient again when he starts talking about Braulio adopting a child; she isn’t interested in hearing about Braulio and his wife adopting. ‘It’s him,’ Santi interrupts her protest, ‘The boy that they adopted is Andres!’

 

Vuelve – 1/4/23 part 3

Amelia defends herself from Braulio’s attacks by saying she kept the secrets because she knew how he would react, and she didn’t want to give him more ammo to take Juandres from her! She tells them about the extortion she gave into, and both Braulio and Martha are shocked!!! How can Consuelo be involved in the kidnapping of her own nephew? Martha is the sensible one here saying they have to tell Nuria the truth. Amelia and Braulio are united for once, in one thing; they aren’t giving up Juanito!! He is legally their son and he’s a Zepeda!!!

Chelo continues to spill out the whole story to Rai and he speaks for all viewerville when he asks how she could do that and watch Nuria suffer! She must have ice water in her veins. After Chelo cries out the whole story, Rai says he hopes God can forgive her because Nuria never will!!

More scenes from the March and now Angustias is talking about getting justice for Esmeralda while Euge and Ro are wondering what Santi is saying to Nuria.

We already get to see Fausto again, darn! He’s in a hotel room counting his dinero and figuring he’ll have to call Amelia again to get money to disappear. Good luck with that one, buddy! He pauses and wonders if she already knows everything, no, he must think of something else! Maybe he should rob another bank? LOL

Liana says Tigre must be happy because Sapo is going to accomplish his goal and leave him as the only Sapo heir. Tigre says Liana should partner with him since it benefits her, but she has other things on her mind. She doesn’t care about Braulio but before she can say what she does care about she has a nausea attack and kicks Tigre out of her office.

I guess Alberto is spending all day in the hospital with Mariano. They are still chatting, and Mariano asks about Alberto about Ari’s possibilities in court and whether he would be forgiven if Mariano and Martha dropped the charges. Alberto is being asked because he used to be a lawyer and he says probably not, but it might go a long way with the judge showing him leniency. (This shouldn’t be just Mariano and Martha’s call to make. Ari injured Juandres and he has three parents who would potentially have a say in whether they want Ari to be charged for endangering their son).

Braulio wants to flee the country and Martha tries to reason with Amelia, telling her she has to do the right thing. Nuria is suffering without her son! What about me? Amelia demands. It costs her everything to become a mother and if she loses Juandres it will kill her!!! Martha begs her to think this through, as Braulio continues to talk about getting out of dodge!

Liana reads about her pill side effects, sigh. I don’t want to see more of Liana and her pregnancy problems, let’s get back to the fall out!!! She’s crying though as she takes the pills and convinces herself she needs to get rid of this pregnancy and forget it ever happened! She tells the picture of her parents not to judge her, they know she killed them! She can’t be happy, she can’t! We see more of the accident scene and young Liana trying to wake her dead parents after the crash.

Ro comes home and she and Rai talk about the bombshell landing and what they both learned today.

Nuria reacts to Santi’s news and says he must be lying, it’s not true! It’s impossible, her son knows her! He knows her name! How could that be? Santi must be lying!!! She asks for proof and Santi shows her pictures from the last year! Nuria cries over and over again. ‘It’s him, that’s my baby!’ When she shakes out of it, she immediately assumes that Braulio stole her child, and she got close to her to get to Andres, but Santi says that’s not true. Braulio didn’t know Andres, they never met. He tells her about the car accident, Andres’ memory loss and the orphanage. Nuria is out the door and Santi asks where she’s going, she’s going to look for her son of course!!!

 

Vuelve – 1/4/23 part 4

Ro comes to tell Chelo off! Chelo wants to explain but Ro wants to yell and give her the smack across the face she so richly deserves!!! Ro rattles off everything Nuria has done for Chelo, everything she has done!!! She tells Chelo not to hide behind Fausto because Chelo is an adult! She made her own choices; she could have come to her!!!

Euge and Carmen talk about what happened at the march. Neither Nuria nor Ro are answering the phones, and they don’t know what’s going on, they hope Nuria is with Andres. Carmen asks why Euge doesn’t seem happy about her engagement, but Diego arrives before Euge has to answer. Diego comes to give back Celia’s name tag and gives the ladies the news that Celia was murdered.

Chenta and Tigre are talking at work, and I’m getting impatient too, bigger things are going on people!!! Tigre is trying to get Chenta to do his bidding, but Chenta isn’t an idiot, she knows when something is shady. Tigre tries to reassure her and says he’s trusting her, Chenta still looks torn. Sorry but I didn’t catch exactly what he wanted Chenta to do.

Chelo continues to plead her case and tells Ro the news about the extortion of Amelia…. it’s just more fuel for Ro to reprimand Chelo’s heartless actions or inactions.

Finally, Nuria and Santi arrive at the house!!! Braulio, Martha and Amelia are still fighting in the living room, so they haven’t missed them! Martha keeps telling them they are talking about kidnapping, but Amelia can only think of one thing, she can’t lose her son! Martha can’t believe Amelia is taking Braulio’s side, but they make up their mind to flee. It isn’t going to matter though because Nuria bursts into their crazy conversation and demands to know where her son is!! Shocked faces everywhere and Braulio looks to Santi who entered behind Nuria. ‘What have you done, Santiago?’ he asks as our episode fades out.

Thanks again, Darcy. Another stellar recap! Well, things really heated up last night. Amalia surprised me. She’s willing to do anything to keep Andres and has no consideration for Nuria at all. Relax, Amalia, you’ll be raising Danita as part of your HEA.

Santi knew just what to say to Chelo. She was trying to bluff her way through it, but being sent to prison convinced her. I can’t stand that whiny face. The actress must be good; I despise her!

So bad girls get to have abortions. Liana taking those pills surprised me. Of course she told Mia quite a while ago that she never wanted children. But I thought the opportunity to try to trap Santi would be irresistible. The good girls never have abortions. I’ve seen a few show up for the appointment and then run out in tears.

I enjoyed Jorge Luis Pila advising Mariano. He’s always been one of my favorites.

What Tigre wants Chenta to do is call someone at GZ and, as Braulio’s assistant, get those sales results by retail outlet, which is what Santi wanted when he couldn’t believe Braulio’s profit numbers.

I’m SO glad neither Ro nor Rai let Chelo off the hook.

I think the picture Santi showed Nuria may have been taken of the two of them the day they went to the beach.

What Ro said to Chelo reminded me of the beginning of the novela. She said that Nuria was busting her hindquarters for her sister. As we remember, Nuria was working at the maquiladora, putting up with sexual advances, while Chelo was supposed to be in school. Of course she was cutting classes to spend time in Fausto’s bed. And she was completely self centered, resenting helping out with Andres.

Don’t know if we’ll see it tonight, but the big scene with Nuria and Chelo when all is known should be a barn burner. Hoping for some more slaps. Chelo deserves more of them.

1/5/24 Pt 1 of 2

Nuria confronts the Zepedas. She berates Martha, saying that she saw that placard with a photo of her son and said nothing. Why? Martha begins to feebly apologize.

Nuria accuses Braulio of pretending to court her so as to take her boy and give him to his wife, the one who cannot have children. Amalia continues to behave badly, only grasping to hold onto the child with very little sympathy for Nuria.

We get some more of the scene with Ros and Chelo. Chelo tries again to justify what she did, something about saving Nuria and her own child. Ros tells her that Nuria will get her child back, but Chelo has lost her sister forever.

Amalia tells Nuria that Juan wanted to be adopted by her and that she’s consoled and comforted him.

Rai calls Euge to come home; there’s a crisis. She leaves Carmen to run the store.

Braulio tells Nuria that they adopted Juan legally, and Amalia says that Nuria would have to kill her to take him. [It may have been a legal adoption, but Nuria has plenty of evidence in Juarez that the kidnapping happened. I can’t see how Amalia would win, unless it’s only about money talking.]

Jacintito appears as tired of Chelo and her excuses as is Viewerville. He fusses and spits out his pacifier.

Nuria tells Amalia that she carried Andres in her belly. She was the one he first called mama. She saw his first step. The last time she saw him was on his 7th birthday. Nuria insists she’s taking Andres, pushes Amalia away and rushes up the stairs.

Casandra doesn’t feel anything in her legs. She asks to call Ari, but Mariano tells her that her phone is at home. The doctor tells Mariano that the surgery did not fix the paralysis.

Liana groans on her sofa. Mia comes in and Liana tells her she never wanted a baby inside her. I keep hoping she does lose it. Who needs a Braulio or Tigre offspring running around and, worse, raised by Liana?

The Zepedas talk. Amalia sobs and says she’ll die if he is taken. Santiago calmly tells them that they will lose the child. Nuria is his mother.

Nuria hears Andres playing outside and remembers those scenes we’ve seen many times of when he lived with her in Juarez. She kneels in front of him. “I found you, my love.” We get a nice long batch of commercials so we can wonder how this will go. The boy says: “¿Quién es usted?” Nuria asks if he doesn’t recognize her. [I was pretty sure this was the way it was going to go, but it’s not like I’ve never been wrong in a TN!] Nuria tries to get Andres to remember their being together, the action figures, the bracelet they both wear.

Santiago holds back Braulio from interrupting, but Amalia rushes right over and tells the boy that this woman won’t bother him again.

1/5/24 Pt 1 of 2

Euge is outraged when Ros tells her what Chelo and Fausto did. Ros says that Rai doesn’t know the part about the extortion, and she wants her to keep it quiet.

Santi, Braulio, Amalia and Nuria talk. Amalia continues to behave obsessively, not admitting that Nuria has any rights. She tells Nuria that he’s suffered enough living in an orphanage in Aguascalientes. Santiago tells Nuria that no one knows how Andres got from Juarez to Aguascalientes. Nuria responds to Braulio saying that he never met Andres by saying that he was kidnapped the day they were to meet and funny how he never showed up. Amalia tries saying that Braulio didn’t even want to adopt an older child; he wanted a biological child. Adopting Juan was her idea.

Amalia says that the way to clarify what happened is for Nuria to speak with Diego. Nuria: Diego? Who’s Diego? Amalia says that he’s the guy who found Juan in Aguascalientes and was with him in the hospital constantly. Santi tells Nuria that he realizes it all looks odd, but Braulio and Amalia had nothing to do with what happened to Andres.

Diego tells Raquel at the foundation about Juan now hating him.

Andres asks Martha if she can get that señora to leave.

Amalia keeps insisting that the boy stay with her. Nuria goes on her knees begging. She says she knows that Amalia loves Andres, and she’s so grateful for what she’s done. But not one day has gone by without her thinking of her child, missing him, crying over him. “Please return my son to me.” Amalia also kneels down and says she can’t do it. Legally he’s her son.

Nuria asks why he doesn’t remember her. Braulio says they’ve taken him to doctors, and no one knows why he doesn’t remember what happened before he woke up in the hospital. Amalia says that these people are his family. A mother wouldn’t make her child suffer. Nuria replies: “If it takes the police, I’ll get my child.” Braulio freaks a bit. Santi asks her to give him some time, for Andres’ sake. Amalia asks Santi whose side he’s on. “I’m on the boy’s side; and he needs to be with his mother!”

At the door of Casa Zepeda Nuria is distraught, and Santiago hugs her. He tells her she needs to understand that it wasn’t his family’s fault. “Talk with your sister. She and Fausto knew Andres was here and that Amelia had adopted him.”

Casandra gets it out of Mariano that Martha didn’t prevent Ari’s being arrested.

Nuria is shocked. She tells Santi that he’s accusing her sister of something horrible to protect his family. He says that Diego cared for Andres in Aguascalientes. Amalia and Diego went to Juarez to investigate. Fausto contacted them. Fausto and your sister lied to Amalia and said that Chelo was his mother. They asked for money to keep quiet.

Martha comes to the two of them and asks Nuria not to take the boy, for his own sake. Nuria says she won’t take him now, but she will be with her son. Santi tells Martha that he’s going to help Nuria.

Fausto lurks somewhere and wonders if Santi has told the truth yet.

Chelo blubbers and tells the baby that they have to leave. She begins writing a note to Nuria asking for forgiveness.

Amalia is ready to go to war. Santi tells her that, if she’s a good person, she’ll realize that Andres needs to return to his mother.

Wow, Novelera, thank you so much for delivering every dramatic moment . Santi has become a true galan who is now on the hero's journey . I suppose Liana will use her pregnancy now to snare him even though she never wanted to have a bebe.

Things have really started to percolate . I am anxious for Nuria to meet Diego.

One of these women will be left broken hearted , and I am sure it will be Amalia, but with Celia gone , her HEA will be with Diego and His daughter . Susan

I can give Amelia a pass for now because she's reacting out of shock. She's not throwing this fit weeks or months after finding out the truth, she's reacting within hours of her whole world turning upside down! When she adopted Juandres she genuinely believed he was an orphan. Then when Diego first suggested that whole orphan story didn't fit Amelia reacted badly at first but was ultimately willing to search for the real parents and do the right thing. But then she found out, or thought she did, that Juan's real parents were horrible criminals and that she was going to keep him. And now this bombshell! If she's still fighting to keep Andres away from Nuria in a few days or weeks, I'll change my mind but for now I am giving her slack. Amelia is a good person, I think she will do the right thing after the shock wears off, as painful as it will be.

I also give Nuria a pass because obviously this is a high emotion and shocking day for her too, and her history with the Zepedes has been anything but rosey But I actually thought she was harsh and unfair to Martha. Martha saw that poster of Andres YESTERDAY! It's not like she saw it a month ago. She saw the poster and she too was in shock, she ran out of there; but she went right to Braulio and revealed what she learned. She advocated for telling the truth, I think it's reasonable that she would want to tell/prepare her family before just dropping the bomb on Nuria. Similar to Amelia, if she had known for weeks or months and said nothing I would feel differently, but she was shocked.

Speaking of shock, I too am shocked that Liana wants an abortion and not to use the pregnancy to try to trap Santi!!

I also agree about Jorge Luis Pila! He's a good actor, he has that presence where you just smile when you see him! I wonder if we'll see a reconciliation with him and his ex-wife, he definitely seemed regretful of not opening up to her. That would be a nice side story.

Thanks for your comments Susan, Darcy and Steve. Darcy, thanks for softening my rather harsh analysis of Amalia's reactions. I also feel she'll come around, but I was taken aback by how stubbornly she insisted that a biological mother whose child had been kidnapped, ripping her heart out, cannot get the child back.

And ITA about Nuria's suspicions about the Zepeda causing her to blame them for losing Juandres. Braulio, of course, is a complete cad. But Santi should have told her the truth about his last name long, long before it came out. And I haven't forgotten Martha showing up and ripping into Nuria about trying to steal Braulio away from his family and, when that didn't pan out, going for Santiago. Nuria definitely can be forgiven for assuming the worst.

Susan, I am also looking forward to Nuria and Diego meeting. But I suspect he will be guilty for not saying he was the one who caused Juandres' memory loss in the first place. Did he tell Amalia the truth about how he met the child? Can't remember.

Novelera, I am not sure if Diego told anyone that he accidentally hit Andres . So much time has passed since that happened .

Well, there are a lot of people involved at this point . Chelo will be knitting her eyebrows and weeping more than ever . I need to see Fausto get a bigger , better beat down from Santi before he is brought to justice .

Liana is going to be right there stirring the pot and pulling Santi away from Nuria by telling him he is going to be a daddy and must concentrate on his own little bebe.

Tigre will be sitting back smirking and enjoying the suffering .

Diego did tell Amelia about the accident, I don’t remember exactly the circumstances but I remember he told her. I think it was right around the time he first started talking about finding Juandres’ real parents, and that he told her as an explanation of why he felt obligated to find out the truth about Juandres. But I might be wrong about the circumstances of the conversation, a lot has happened since then.
