Please, writers, don't let Liana either BE pregnant or decide to pretend to be. I am liking the way they're writing it now. She's given up on him and is even nasty to him. I think it could be a false alarm to get Viewerville worked up since we all suffer from combat fatigue over fake pregnancies in a hundred novelas.

I went to Google because I've been also wondering what the point of Angustias's campaign is. I guess I just thought Mexico was like the U.S; i.e., the legal concept of double jeopardy. A person cannot be prosecuted for the same crime twice. It turns out that's unique to the U.S. Also, the U.S. sometimes prosecutes international criminals who've been acquitted elsewhere. This is used most often with convicting drug traffickers they manage to lay their hands on. Long story short, Mario could be tried again for the murder.

So...is Euge bisexual? She certainly seemed to be into it the time she and Chalo hooked up, although she was not happy he was still in love with Nuria afterwards.

I thought the same. What a stupid plot point to claim that a newborn is starving? Chelo is most likely breastfeeding.

My impression was that Fausto told Chelo that HE was going to commit a robbery, not that she'd participate. But, come to think of it, the idiot already was the getaway driver in the other robbery we saw him commit. And she kept her mouth shut about his having done it.

WTH, Mia! I guess she's ride or die with Liana. She stood right there smirking while Liana unjustly fired a perfectly competent employee just because she's related to Liana's rival.

There's one more thing I forgot to put down. Some of you have mentioned seeing Ximena Herrera (Amelia) as a villain in, I think, a Uni novela. I had only seen her as a good person. But when she gets all mother grizzly about Andres, I can see how she would be able to be that sort of character. Of course they've said over and over how hard she's had it trying to be a mother. But I still don't like the way she behaves a lot of the time. She won't even give Nuria an ounce of sympathy for losing her child. She fired Diego so Rotten Braulio wouldn't get custody, not even standing up to him one bit. And she gave big bucks twice to Fausto instead of telling him to go fly a kite.

Novelera: Amelia will do something very desperate in the Gran Final whenever it happens. She'll plot one desperate scheme to keep Andres away from Nuria.

As for Liana & Co.,: The sooner the villains go down in flames, the better!

Vuelve – 1/18/23 part 1

Back to Amelia and Santi’s fight, and Martha arrives to help, yay! This is mostly the same old fight, and even though I had compassion for Amelia in the beginning I’m to the point where I wish someone would scream ‘He’s not your son!’ in her face. Martha is trying to play Switzerland and wants to leave it up to the judge, but Amelia is livid! She wants to forbid Santi to be around ‘Juan’ or if Martha won’t let her, she’ll move out. Santi gives a little and promises not to take Andres anywhere again without Amelia’s permission. This must have pacified Amelia because she later tells Andres that Tio won’t be taking him anywhere again unless she knows about it.

Nuria continues to cry as she processes what happened with Andres and tells Ros about the visit. Ros tries to encourage Nuria to give it time, it’s a good sign that Andres remembered something, it’s a start; and when they win the case and Andres is with Nuria for good he will remember everything. Nuria is just devastated that he doesn’t remember her.

More of Chalo and Angustias fighting, Carmen and Euge arrive to hear about the attempted murder and Chalo finds out that Euge and Carmen were fired. Well, Euge was fired, and Carmen quit. Chalo says not to worry, when they are married, Euge will lack nothing.

Liana continues to celebrate her ability to step on the little people when she’s feeling down. Mia questions what there is to gain in firing innocent women, but Liana says no one related to Nuria is innocent. Mia wonders why Liana is still after Nuria since she broke up with Santi, but Liana says just because her relationship with Santi is over doesn’t mean she will forget. She’s going to continue to make Nuria’s life hell!

Amelia goes to talk with Andres, but he just wants to play video games. He finally starts talking and reveals he remembered something about his old house, but he couldn’t remember any more and Nuria and Santi wanted him too. Amelia says not to force himself and he doesn’t have to listen to Nuria and Santi. Andres reveals that he’s afraid that if he remembers, he’ll love Nuria and if he loves Nuria, he’ll stop loving Amelia! He doesn’t want that to happen. Poor kid!

Diego’s neighbor (I guess) comes to see him with a newspaper and Diego thinks he just wants to talk about what happened at GZ, but the neighbor has other news. That is the guy who was coming to visit Celia!! He points to a front-page pic of Braulio. The neighbor thinks Celia was cheating but he’s not sure!! LOL

Chenta is ready to leave work and Braulio basically orders her to let him take her home. She tries to refuse but he says she is a peon, and he is the executive! If I had a quarter for every labor law GZ has broken, but I guess the labor laws in Mexico might be different.

Nuria tries to call Chelo again, no answer. Euge arrives and they talk about Andres and the problems with Angustias, and Euge informs Nuria of the newest obstacle, her getting fired. They agree that Liana is one vengeful bitch! They decided to work together on the clothing business, they can expand and get a website and everything. Chenta arrives with the unwelcome news that Braulio is there.

Fausto is still bitching about his failed attempt with Amelia and is annoyed by the baby’s constant crying. Chelo just says he’s an idiot and it was never going to work. Fausto decides with the little money he has left he is buying them bus tickets and they are getting out of dodge, tomorrow!

Braulio wants an answer to his marriage proposal, sigh. He gets one too, a great big slap across his face!! This is the same you need me vs. I don’t need you and I never want to see you again in my life conversation. But the whole building shows up to kick Braulio out. As he’s leaving, Braulio threatens he could be worse as an enemy than he was as a boyfriend.

 

Vuelve – 1/18/23 part 2

Santi and Martha talk next. Martha still thinks both women have a right and claim to Andres? Santi seems to agree though he’s team Nuria. Martha reminds Santi of everything Amelia has been through and says Santi’s obsession for Nuria is blinding him! Martha wants Santi to leave this to a judge and focus on the company. All the things that have happened at the company lately have put it in danger. Put his father’s legacy in danger! Santi is president now; he needs to focus there! Santi promises to focus on the business but says Andres will remain a priority for him.

Liana is at home and is having a hot date (ie. Having sex) with a stranger from the internet. Next morning, she’s content to still have him in her bed which is surprising. I expected a love him and kick him out type reaction. Martha arrives to talk to her while dude is asleep in her bed.

Diego thinks about the possibility of Celia being with Braulio. Danita looks adorable in her highchair.

Fausto is ready to take off, but the baby is still crying. He’s still annoyed, but Chelo is worried, she thinks he may be sick. Fausto says he seems okay, a little warm, but okay. Chelo begs to take him to the doctor, but Fausto says no, we’re leaving. Chelo refuses so Fausto finally breaks down and agrees to them take to the doctor. They arrive to see the doctor and only Chelo is allowed back with the baby. Jacinitio has an ear infection. The doctor writes a prescription and Chelo begs to use the phone. Fausto is impatient and harasses the nurse in the waiting room. She should call security to throw his ass out!!

Martha wants to know about the pregnancy scare of course, it’s none of her business, but that never stops Martha! Liana is upset that Santi shared something so personal and assures Martha she isn’t pregnant. But Martha says that Santi is worried, and Martha is concerned that Liana might be lying about being pregnant, because she is independent and strong. (Far be it for me to defend Liana, but I don’t get these people, Liana is a frequent visitor to their house, VP of their company, etc. If she was lying, they would find out about it in a few months!! This hard sell to take another pregnancy test is not exactly needed) Liana agrees to take a pregnancy test again and tells Martha that if Santi is sharing personal details about their lives surely, he told her that he is still seeing Nuria. Martha doesn’t really react to that and advises Liana to stop comparing herself with Nuria. She’s a beautiful, accomplished woman and she should move on and be happy.

Alberto runs into Chenta as she’s leaving for work. He’s all cute and nervous as he asks her how she came to work at GZ and if Tigre is her boyfriend. Chenta says she and Tigre went out a few times, but they have lots of differences. Alberto smiles and says he hopes that means he has a chance with her. Chenta smiles and we don’t hear her answer.

Chelo calls Nuria but she’s with Alberto going over the paperwork for Andres and doesn’t answer. Meanwhile, Ros and Rai are outside talking about how to set up the courtyard for the wedding reception. Ros has a bunch of ideas and Rai wants her to do whatever she wants because he only wants her to be happy.

Chelo is still trying to call someone, and the doctor is getting uncomfortable, but Chelo makes it clear she can’t call in front of her husband. The doctor gets the picture when Ros finally answers and Chelo makes it clear Fausto forced her to leave with him and threatened to take the baby from her if she didn’t go.

Cassie tries to force herself to walk, out by the pool. I was worried, but she just fell on the pavement and Aida was right there to help her.

 

Vuelve – 1/18/23 part 3

Amelia goes to see Braulio and tells him about Santi taking Andres to visit Nuria and that now Andres is starting to remember things. Amelia doesn’t want to lose her son and she needs Braulio to help her! Braulio owes her! Before they can get further into this unholy alliance, Diego shows up demanding to know what Braulio was doing visiting Celia at his house. Braulio denies of course and pretends to be shocked that Celia is dead. Diego says Braulio was seen by the neighbor, so he admits being there and Diego wants to know why. We don’t get the answer… at least not in this episode.

Santi is talking to his PR rep I’m guessing; he needs to repair the image of the company.

Nuria is taking too long, and Fausto is pounding on the doctor’s locked door threatening to break it down, so Chelo hurries off the phone just telling Ros when the bus is leaving and from where, but she doesn’t have time to say the specific bus number. Chelo opens the door and convinces Fausto they were just getting the baby checked and he has an ear infection and needs medicine. As they are leaving, Fausto tells the doctor he expects the visit to be on the house since she made him wait so long!! LOL The scared doctor nods. She might be scared but it looks like this doctor is smart and as soon as they leave, she makes a call, hopefully to the police or security!

Ros, Chalo and Nuria take off for the bus station. Alberto calls Santi and tells him that Fausto kidnapped Chelo and the baby and he’s about to take them out of the country. The runaways make it to the bus station and the bus is there. So far no one is in sight, but then Ros & co, show up but we have the typical they don’t see them anywhere even though they are about 200 feet apart scene.

What is Liana up to with the random hombre , and why is Martha so pushy about Liana taking a pregnancy test ? Where is this going ?

I like Alberto , and so does Chenta, but Tigre is not going to be happy about Alberto cutting in on him . Tigre thinks Chenta owes him for getting her the store job . uh oh

At this point, Amelia doesn't deserve sweet Diego , but I am sure she will get him and a HEA at the end . susan

Thanks so much, Darcy. Your recap and asides were fantastic! Amen on turning sour on Amelia. Her apparent lack of sympathy for Nuria is pretty awful.

And, speaking of Nuria, I think she really blew it in that one meeting with Andres. IIRC Ros told her to play in cool and not to cry. The way to win him over was to just appear like someone who wants to be his friend, like Diego. Instead, she kept pushing him to try to remember her. And now he doesn't want to see her at all.

Like a good villain, Liana doesn't disappoint in her vengeance on Nuria for having "beaten" her in the Santi sweepstakes. The only wrinkle in the usual plot is that she doesn't seem to be staying up nights trying to figure out a way to get him back. Of course, now I'm wondering if she might be trying to get pregnant by the rando. Could she have reconsidered, maybe re-watching an old novela where the villainess gets pregnant by someone else or fakes pregnancy to get the galan? I have a memory of at least one featuring a fake belly.

ITA about the inappropriateness of Martha showing up to grill Liana about the printed pregnancy result that no one should have seen!

1/19/24 – Pt 1 of 3

Just as Darcy said last time, the gang from the pension continue to not see Fausto, Chelo, and Jacintito 20 yards away. Nuria gets a brainstorm and asks the bus station security guys to help her, mentioning how dangerous Fausto is. [I still don’t understand why Fausto says they’re leaving the country…on a bus?] Fausto notices Chelo looking around constantly. He also notices the guards looking around.

Diego grills Braulio about his neighbor having seen Braulio at Diego’s apartment. Braulio talks fast. He was coming to talk to Diego about messing around with his wife. When Diego asks how he know where he lived, Braulio says he got the address because Diego was an employee of the family foundation. [Braulio thinks fast on his feet.]

Amelia keeps doing dumb things. She doesn’t want Diego to keep grilling Braulio in case somehow it tinkers with her hanging onto Andres.

Liana admires Diego when she sees him in the office. Mia thinks he’s un poco colorido. [Not positive what this means; my dictionary says “local color”. At first I thought she meant he was mestizo or something like that. Oh well.]

Santi is about to run off to the bus station to help the others when Liana reminds him they have an appointment with a gynecologist.

Amelia talks to Braulio about being united so as to keep custody of Andres. Braulio tries to tell her he still loves her. Nuria no te llegue hasta tu talones. (She doesn’t rise even up to your heels.) He grabs her in an embrace and Diego, of course, sees this and leaves.

Why is Braulio hanging out at GZ this whole episode? He refused Santiago’s offer to work at the company. Later he’s shown sitting at some table in an open area. Tigre comments it’s odd not to see him in his office.

Chenta gives Tigre a piece of her mind for having put her up to getting those sales figures. She’s sooooo over him.

Aida and Martha talk about Casandra having fallen down while trying to stand. Martha isn’t best pleased she went to an AA meeting with Ari, but she does admit the guy makes Casandra happy.

Braulio tells Tigre that he has to get Amelia to reconcile with him. Tigre reminds him he was just proposing marriage to Nuria. Braulio says that she rejected him. Now he wants to see her suffer. Braulio asks Tigre if he’s sure he got rid of Celia’s things.

1/19/24 – Pt 2 of 3

Consuelo spots Nuria at the bus station, shouts her name, and runs toward her sister. Fausto grabs her. Chelo tells him she’s just giving him a chance to get away. Nuria, Ros, Chalo, and a security guard run toward them. Fausto runs. He manages to climb into the bed of a good sized truck that’s pulling away.

Carmen wants to talk about “us”, but Euge keeps looking guilty and not wanting to talk about it. I’m getting a bit tired of this. Carmen deserves that conversation.

Amelia goes to Diego’s apartment asking why he left. She assures him the thing with Braulio was nothing. They end up jumping into bed together.

At the pension Chalo and Rai assure Chelo that they’ll keep watch so Fausto can’t get into the pension and take the baby or her.

Great! Liana is not pregnant. My worries about her one night stand being a way to quickly conceive did not come to pass. She’s sarcastic with Santi, telling him she never wanted to be a mother, even though she’s madly in love with him. She sneers that she was the one who would do anything for him and he’ll regret letting her go.

Ros talks with Nuria. She’s now convinced that Chelo was dominated and manipulated by Fausto. She makes a comparison to how she herself felt being with her ex-husband, afraid all the time. But Ros says that, now Chelo has a child, she has had the courage to call Nuria.

Diego and Amelia are cuddled up. She says he wants a relojero (watchmaker) to slow time so that he can stay with her. He also says he worries that people will think he’s after her money. She intuits that he means Martha and assures him it’s only because Braulio is her son. Diego asks her not to take it the wrong way but is she sure Andres’ best place is to be with her and not Nuria.

Nuria tells Chelo she’d die if anything happened to her. Chelo tells her tale. She loved Fausto in the beginning. We see the flashback of his giving her a piece of plastic as a temporary engagement ring. Then later came the insults, attempts to brainwash her, pushing, and finally the hitting. She was too ashamed to tell Nuria. She tells Nuria that Fausto killed Jacinto right in front of her. And he also threatened to kill Nuria, to kill Andres. Nuria forgives her. [But Chelo still hasn’t come out with the truth about Fausto having kidnapped Andres.]

Nuria tells Chelo to pray to God that the baby (so far nameless) isn’t Fausto’s, so they can get him out of their lives. [Chelo should have grabbed up his toothbrush or some hairs from a brush so she can do a DNA test.]

1/19/24 – Pt 3 of 3

Braulio overhears Liana massaging a client over the phone. [How can we miss you if you don’t go away?] He has the cojones to ask her to help him get the presidency back.

Euge and Nuria talk about what Chelo went through. Euge sort of apologizes for being so judgmental. Santi arrives and Euge tells him his ex-girlfriend fired her. She smiles at Santi and tells him about the new business she and Nuria are starting.

Amelia reacts like a scalded cat about Diego questioning her absolute right to hang onto Nuria’s child. Now she’s cast Nuria as the bad woman who got involved with her husband. [Guess she forgot that heart to heart they had at the GZ store where Nuria told her that she did NOT know Braulio was married.]

Braulio and Liana engage in some more finger pointing. She plays innocent about Sapo coming to GZ. He reminds her that she was the one who found the crappy fabric company. She shoots back that it would have been fine if he hadn’t been to cheap to insure the quality of the delivery.

Nuria thanks Santi for helping her. She asks a pretty dumb question: “Why do you help me?” Of course he says that he loves her. And she loves him too, right? Lots of kisses. Nuria, for once, is all in. She says they need to make up for lost time. Rai and Ros look on, thrilled.

Euge can’t quite tell her mother about Carmen, but she does say she’s not sure if she wants to marry Chalo.

Diego finds lots of calls to a certain number on Celia’s phone bill. He calls the number. Bingo! It’s Braulio.

Braulio asks Tigre to find Fausto. [Huh? Did I miss something? Can’t think why.]

Martha tells Amelia that she knows she’s had a bad time, but she needs to lay off Santiago. Just then a letter arrives for Amelia. It’s a summons to appear before a judge. She looks stricken, saying she believes they’ll take Andres.

Alberto tells Nuria about the session before the judge. She’s over the moon and immediately asks if she’ll be able to take him home with her. Alberto doesn’t say it out loud, but from the expression on his face, he doubts it will be that simple.

OMG Amelia is getting more creepier 24/7 with her obsession over keeping Andres.

Wake me up when the Karma anvil hits her ass & she's in some mental institution.

I'll be shocked if Telemundo brings this back for a 2nd Season.

Thanks Novelera! Excellent as always and you captured some details, I must have zoned out on so I appreciate it!

I agree that Carmen deserves that conversation, but I actually think she's wrong to insist. Euge isn't ready to have that conversation, she isn't sure of what she feels like she's said many times. Insisting is only going to drive Euge away. What should have happened is Euge should have never even hinted at her feelings for Carmen until she was ready to discuss them! But it's too late for that now.

Amelia is losing it, but I don't think she's headed for a karma anvil or for a mental ward, she'll be redeemed. It's too bad Diego is only tip toeing around the subject because he's afraid to lose her, he is probably the most likely person to get through to her. I'm still betting it'll be Andres' memory recovery that decides it in the end.

Glad Chelo is away from Fausto, I don't know why but she pulls at my heart strings, maybe it's the actress' performance. She's done everything wrong and is still hiding more lies but somehow, I still feel bad for her.

I want to add that when I said the other day that I didn't know what good Angustia's protesting was doing, I wasn't even thinking about double jeopardy, thought that's a good point. I just don't know what standing on a street corner alone with a microphone does... she should be talking to lawyers, writing letters to authorities, holding sit-ins at courthouses demanding to be heard, I don't know what, but standing on a street corner? Now, if you had a whole crowd and news crews and everything, they had at prior protests then maybe, but just one woman on a corner who no one is listening to? What is that accomplishing?
