TELEMUNDO Y MÁS (#1): Vuelve a Mí, Amor Imposible, El Señor de los Cielos 9, y más: Week of February 12, 2024

Welcome to Page 1 (Monday edition) of the Telemundo y Más page, issued twice a week: Mondays and Thursdays at 8:00 PM.

Here are the current telenovelas (all times are Eastern Standard Time):

9 - 10PM - Vuelve a Mí**
10 - 11PM - Amor Imposible**    (ending Monday)
10 - 11PM - El Señor de los Cielos 9**   (beginning Tuesday)

**Amor Imposible will have its final episode on Monday. On Tuesday, Vuelve a Mí will be pre-empted by Casa de los famosos, and season 9 of El Señor de los Cielos will begin in the 10 PM time slot. According to Zap2It, Vuelve a Mí will return in the 9PM time slot on Wednesday for the rest of the week, along with El Señor at 10PM. (The sometimes unreliable Telemundo program guide isn't clear whether El Señor will be shown on Wednesday, but I think it's likely that the program guide is simply not accurate yet again.)

Everyone is welcome to join in the conversation. Since discussions of all the novelas share the same page, please remember to put the name of the telenovela you're referring to at the top of your post, so readers can easily find the conversations they're looking for.

By common agreement, this group DOES NOT discuss previews, trailers, or any other plot information not found in a current or past episode of the current production. Spoilers WILL be removed by the admin. This includes reference to earlier productions of the story, and even the original novel. Thanks for your cooperation!

Still waiting to see what happens on Monday, but I hope Santiago gives Martha heck before inevitably accepting her apology. He was doing a good job on that last week, giving her the "I'm so disappointed in you" look. And also by yelling at her. She's a lot like Chelo. Crying a whole lot and saying sorry, but not actually accepting their part in the bad thing they are suppose to be apologizing for. Neither one of them deserves true forgiveness yet. H

Sorry, this episode didn’t do a thing for me.

Santi continues blaming Martha for Braulio’s actions and for letting him leave. Mariano agrees with Santi.

One of the few parts I liked was Pepito hugging Alberto. Then he asked when they’d get married!

There was a long, long scene where coughing Rai finally tells Ros, with Nuria looking on, that he’s terminal. Anytime you see a telenovela character coughing violently into a hanky, you can bet a blood stain won’t be far behind. Rai insists he doesn’t want to die in a hospital.

Amelia finds out about Braulio taking Andres.

The scene with Ari and Casandra was well done. They begin to make love, very tastefully filmed.

Santi and Alberto come to Liana’s apartment and find Mia dead. The cops are called. Liana, you were better off with Tigre. That guy knew how to get rid of a body. Fausto’s track record isn’t good; they found Jacinto right away.

Braulio lets Amelia speak with Andres but doesn’t let it go on for long. Then he tells her she’ll never see “Juan” again.

In Liana’s apartment the cops find the scissors that killed Aida.

Ros turns on Rai. She won’t sleep in the same bed with him because he lied to her.

Chalo is still confused.

Fausto throws bottles with gas-soaked rags into Chelo’s and Nuria’s bedrooms. [Did Chelo tell him the baby was not his and he believed it? Didn’t seem to mind burning up a baby.]

There are long, frantic scenes where the whole pension crowd can’t do much and the firemen don’t come. I guess Ros never owned an axe.

Braulio is bad at telling stories to “his” son.

Fausto and Liana have hot sex to celebrate the fire. Later she gloats about Nuria being gone, saying that Santiago will now be without Nuria. She says she’s won.

The cops come to Casa Zepeda. Fabian filed a complaint about the attempt on his life and about Alicia’s death.

Somehow Nuria got out of her room. I didn’t see how.

Chelo dreams of Jacinto. Looks like they’re going for a joining of the two in Heaven, when Chalo finally breaks into the room. We end with the two of them looking trapped.

Thank you Novelera! I am still trying to catch up but I'm getting there. I'm up to where Diego lost it on Braulio at the police station about killing Celia. Not only was it not smart, but it also seemed very out of character. Diego has always been willing and able to defend himself, but we hadn't seen him as an aggressor yet, had we?

Having only read the recaps at this point, I am of two minds about Martha. On the one hand, I hate the 'but he's my son' line! If you kid is a dangerous criminal, you need to turn him in, period!! You don't allow him to put someone else's life in danger and cover for him because he's your son....and if you do, you should go to prison as an accomplice for anything he does.

On the other hand, the problem I have with Martha is the same one I had when Amelia first learned Juan was Andres, which is Martha is acting from shock and trauma. The way Santi is yelling at her is as if she's known for weeks, or months, or years that Braulio did all these things and covered for him. When in reality, she found out what, yesterday? So he's essentially judging her for not being able to find out her son did a bunch of awful things one minute and then just condemn him in the next without so much as taking a moment to process the horror in front of her!!! I mean all of these characters have been repeatedly traumatized since ep 1, but lately Martha lost her best friend, found out she was murdered, found out her live-in staff guy had a murder board closet and killed her bff. No wait, that was Liana her goddaughter, who was like a daughter to her - but set up Santi to be imprisoned for murder, no wait, that was Braulio!!! Her own son! Who killed her husband too? And Celia? And raped multiple women??? What?? I mean jeez, give the woman a minute to breathe!!! How do you condemn her for not having all that worked out and Braulio in a jail cell within 48 hours of the bombshell dropping? So, she let Braulio go, and she shouldn't have. But I still have some sympathy for the idea that she's just too shocked to think straight.

But of course, Martha's inability to act has put Andres in danger, and that's awful!!!

Oh, I meant to say. I am feeling sooo much better!!!! Finally!!! I will be able to do my recaps this week! :)

"ESDLC 9" EPISODE#702:

Darcy: Glad to see you're doing better. I am more interesting in watching tonight's Season 9 debut of "ESDLC" including the fallout from the church explosion from last Season & Aurelio's bloodthirsty revenge, plus let's not forget there's unfinished business: taking down Cabo once & for all including Creepy Aguirre.

I'm also intrigued to see how Slippery Manzano will avoid being exposed for corruption since he's the DEA Commissioner.

Novelera , thank you for that snappy recap ...you were on fire ...they were in fire .

That fire scene was really odd. They would all be gone from smoke inhalation . okay...beanie cap on...suspending disbelief .

Kim is doing a spectacular job bringing the BSC evil. I am very interested in seeing Kim play the good girl in a new novela coming to Univision. Fausto is just going along with her vfor her last wild ride into Super duper crazy.

I love sweet Rai. So sad to see him him like this .

Darcy, so glad that you are feeling better.

Well, they finished it up last night. I realize no one here is watching it. Dondi commented that it was a flop in Turkey. Presumably the ratings here were similar. I thought the way they finished it off was well done.

We saw Gulcemal presumably killing himself in front of his evil mother. Then we got a 5 year gap in time. Before that, Gulcemal and Deva were shown in bed together for about 2 seconds. After the gap in time we see she has given birth to a boy, Cemal.

Deva is getting ready for a big art exhibit, so her father and mother are caring for him. We get some scenes of all the characters that might have been at odds all now being one big happy family. Armagan and Ipek show up, having been, I think, in another country this whole time. He's had treatment and is out of the wheelchair, the treatment paid for by Gulcemal.

So Deva's son, Cemal, gets away from his grandparents and is found by Gulcemal, who happens to be off a boat for a little while. They bond immediately, but the plot point is that the child is mute. Later we see he recognizes his father from the photo his mother has. Gulcemal takes him to the police station, and Deva and family are overjoyed and relieved. Gulcemal supposedly did not know the four-year-old was his own child.

On the day of Deva's big art show, Gulcemal shows up. He's spotted, and the two lovers are reunited. His mother, Zafer, tells him that, despite what she said at the cliff's edge, she has always loved him. HEA.

Novelera, after seeing a few videos online, I never got into watching this show because Stoneface did nothing for me. It was nice of you to do this recap of the finale . I wonder what new shows are next .

Thanks for giving us the wrap up on this dizi, novelera. I was watching, but not consistently enough to add anything of value to a conversation.

I thought this was a tubful of silly soap. Why was Zafer forgiven so easily? It reminded me of Azize’s ridiculous redemption in Hercai. Does Ayda Aksel have a redemption clause in her contract? The best thing I can say about this dizi is that it had a happy ending for everyone. I’m always grateful for that.

Gulcemal, played by Murat Ünalmış, didn’t do anything for me. Although “dead” Gulcemal looked better to me than the “alive” one. I’m not impressed with Melis Sezen (Deva) at all. And the dubbing for her, here and in Infiel, irritated me. I couldn’t stand Gulendam.

I’m sorry Ayda Aksel got stuck in this mess. Ditto for Cahit Gök (Vefa) and Edip Tepeli (Mert). I like these actors.

Unfortunately, Vuelve didn’t do enough to tear me away from diziland. I hope there’s another TN or dizi coming soon to bring me back to the patio. I miss “chatting” with you all.

I watched the first episode of the third season of “Secretos de Sangre” (Yargı) and it was good. Hoping Telemundo airs it.

I’ll likely tune into the ESDLC premier tonight and hate myself in the morning.

ESDLC
I am curious about this show. Maybe I will check it out tonight. I watched " Griselda" on Netflix , and one of the actors Alberto Guerra had a part in ESDLC.

"ESDLC" EPISODE#1247:

Susan: I only caught some glimpses of last night's Season 9 premiere.

Some of the highlights:
1.) Aurelio meets with President Gomez Labrador, Psycho Jaime, Manzano, Creepy Aguirre (who likely was involved in the bombing attack), Alfaro & Co., at the church discussed new plans & developments before Aurelio realized something beeping & the church exploded.

2.) Flashbacks from several months earlier: Aurelio & Professor Said together at one of his ranches.

3.) Ritula, Laura & Diana having the time of their lives in NY St.

4.) We see President Gomez Labrador getting kidnapped by Ismael, Skinny & Co., where we see Aurelio confronting Gomez Labrador.

imposible

Thanks for chiming in, dondi. I agree that this was certainly not a prime dizi offering. I kept wondering if there was more that was cut that explained how those people ended up all one happy family before Gulcemal even showed up.

ITA about Melis, the Deva role. I hope to never have to see her again. I believe you've mentioned twice that the person doing the dubbing made her look worse. But hysteria seems to be her go-to emotion, over and over again.

I also disliked Gulendam. They at least gave a call-back to Mert's spiteful nature when IIRC he didn't want Vefa to hold his daughter.

I hadn't thought about it, but you're right. Makes no sense that awful Zafer is the child Cemal's favorite, the one he runs to when he comes home from the police station.

I also agree that Gulcemal looked handsomer with the haircut he had at the end, rather than that sculpted, not a hair out of place look he had the rest of the way.

I got a kick out of Ayda having a "redemption clause" in her contract!

Vuelve

I'll miss most of tonight's show but if it goes as slowly as the barrio crowd did during the fire emergency, I won't miss much. They really need to take some how-to-do-emergencies classes. Or learn the number of Mexico's 911. But maybe all that standing around and screaming vibrated Nuria's door open and that's how she got out?

Shame Fausto and Liana didn't meet earlier because they're good together. Not GOOD good, of course. They're horrible. But equals in terms of evilness and more effective at it than the other bad guys. Liana even managed to take down Tigre, which is an accomplishment that she can be proud of. Doubt Braulio will even get out of the hotel room with Andres.

Imposible- I wasn't watching this but I caught bits and pieces and it always seemed like everyone hated the lead man, Gulcemal. It looked like an odd one, but Turkey does have some of the most beautiful people. If they bring back one with tiaras a la La Sultana, then I'm in!

El Senor- No. Just no. I watched up to the third series, I think, and Aurelio should have been killed back then. Can't get back into it now and will wait for another one to rejoin the patio. And will try to improve the Spanish enough to help out on recaps.

"ESLDC" HIGHLIGHTS DISCUSSION:

Howdy from the Alamo City CarayCaray Family. Here's some of the tidbits from last night's episode:
1.) Aurelio has President Gomez Labrador kidnapped & taken to some secret tunnel, where they discuss who might've been involved in the church bombing, etc.,

2.) Manzano is having a very bad day at the office over at DEA Mexico HQ: Castillo & Colon walk into Manzano's office & take some gleeful joy watching Manzano ranting & raving, etc.,

3.) Alfaro, Dahlia & the Mexican Secret Service are at the location & tracking Gomez Labrador's whereabouts (turns out they placed a tracker in the President's SUV). Before they get a chance to open fire on Aurelio & Co., Gomez Labrador & his security detail agents walk out of the location alive & well.

4.) Over in NYC, NY St: Ritula, Diana & Laura still having fun & discussing business plans. Telemundo needs to give them a spin-off Telenovela ASAP.

5.) In the National Palace, Gomez Labrador scolds Alfaro & Dahlia for the incompetence for something that I couldn't comprehend.

6.) Ismael ranting & raving & arguing with Aurelio about Aurelio's meeting with Creepy Aguirre. This dude needs to SIT DOWN & be quiet.

7.) Manzano goes to the National Palace & meets with President Gomez Labrador in the President's big fancy office.

8.) Mercedes is living in Spain at one of the island towns & very pregnant. Her son goes somewhere to meet with some mysterious dude.

9.) Aurelio & Mimi getting their freak on back in Mexico: Wake me up when she's PREGGERS too.

10.) Cabo & his Crew are also in Spain having fun with the local girls at some bar or some weird-looking place. Back in Mexico: We see Psycho Jaime eating breakfast with Berenice at his fancy apartment.

11.) Mercedes packing heat, fires her gun in the air & tells her son to drive away. Cabo & his crew chase after them, but not before Mercedes shoots the tires of Cabo's vehicle. Later in the evening, Mercedes tells her son she's preggers & Aurelio is the Baby Daddy.

12.) Aurelio, Felina & Co., arrive in Colombia to make business ventures, etc., but we see Cabo aiming his gun presumably at Aurelio: open fire. We are in suspense to wonder who got hit, but we'll have to find out later this evening.

God bless you for the recaps...this show is dragging it out for real!!

Vuelve – 2/14/24 part 1 of 3

Back to the weirdest fire scene. I can’t figure out why both Chelo and Nuria didn’t just walk out at the very beginning of the fire, or why Chalo didn’t walk right back out with Chelo as soon as he finally got in, I mean for the drama of course, but it didn’t look like the fire was blocking the door. This show has done a lot right, but these fire scenes were just awkward. Anyway, luckily everyone’s out in the first two minutes as the fire dept finally shows up and we don’t have another half episode of this drama.

Alberto runs in to see Chenta. She’s okay, just rattled like everyone else.

Rai and Ros talk and even though Ros is initially devastated by the damage to her building, Rai helps her see that what’s important is that Nuria, Chelo and the baby are safe. Ros also sees that being with Rai and enjoying the time they have left is more important than being angry at him for not telling her about the cancer. Ros wants Rai to fight but he wants to die in peace in his own home. Ros doesn’t want to accept this, but she does. She promises to be with him, make him laugh and take care of him until the very end.

Chelo and Chalo also ride the wave of the fire putting things in perspective and the pause to think is over, these two want to be together and they will be!!! The making out starts, and they are two fools happy to be together! The only cloud on their horizon is of course that Fausto is still out there and Chelo is rightfully still scared of what he might do next.

Santi comes to see Nuria and after he’s assured that she is safe, he tells her about Liana and Braulio setting him up for Alicia’s death and he also reluctantly tells her that Braulio took off with Andres. Nuria is devastated of course. Santi wants to believe Braulio won’t hurt Andres, but Nuria points out he’s capable of anything! Look what he did to his own brother!!! Help me, Nuria begs.

The fire department finds firebomb bottles started the fire and Nuria is sure Fausto did it though she saw nothing. She tells Santi that and the police that Fausto had threatened them.

Fausto and Liana find out their attempt on Chelo and Nuria didn’t work, and the ladies are alive! Liana is pissed but she has other problems Fausto informs her, Mia’s body was found, Liana is wanted by the police now!

The next morning, Nuria hadn’t slept and Chelo slept very little. Nuria can’t sit still, she’s going to go look for Andres! She doesn’t care that Fausto is out there, she is going to find Andres. She takes off over the protests of Chelo and Ros.

Martha, Marino and Amelia are having a horribly tense worried breakfast when Fabian shows up to read Martha the riot act for letting Braulio escape!!! He isn’t interested in excuses or playing nice, Braulio is going to pay! And Martha will too as his accomplice if she helps him!!!

Santi and Chema talk and Chema advises Santi to release some of his stress and not let hatred get the best of him. He tells Santi to forgive his mother because any parent would’ve done the same, yuck! Just when Chema seemed to be succeeding at getting Santi to relax a little, Ros arrives with the next round of bad news. Nuria took off to look for Andres!! Santi tries calling Nuria who doesn’t answer and Ros worries. Chema tries to calm everyone down and believe in the best but it falls on deaf worried ears.

Vuelve – 2/14/24 part 2 of 3

Cassie is worried about Andres and venting to Ari. Ari is thinking about sex and trying to assure Cassie that not EVERYTHING around them is horrible! LOL He’s as supportive as a horny teenage boy can be.

Ros turns to Angustias for support with all the piling up problems and especially to talk about how she can possibly stand by and watch Rai die. Angustias says all the right things and is very supportive, but I just can’t stop seeing her pouring gas all over a man and lighting him up!!! She’s just creepy to me now, can’t help it.

Braulio calls Nuria! This man hasn’t given up!!! His new blackmail, Nuria, only has one hope of ever seeing Andres again and that’s if she comes with them! He wants her to run away with him and Andres and be a family. This man…. He’s so evil! Nuria resists of course but at the end of the day she’s scared. It’s the only way she can see Andres and the only way she can protect Andres, so she agrees. Braulio tells Nuria to tell no one and she promises not to, but she tells Santi. She tells him not to stop her, it’s the only way. He needs to trust her and not come looking for her. She will contact him when it’s safe, she loves him!

Amelia is beside herself too and catching Diego up on the Alicia of it all when just for more fun Celia’s mom shows up to accuse Diego of killing Celia!!! Oh boy!!! Mama Celia tries to word it as a question at first but when Diego tells her that no, he didn’t kill Celia, she calls him a liar. This would be almost funny if it didn’t feel like it was over the tipping point of too much drama right now! This lady lays into innocent Diego and pays no attention to Amelia’s defense of Diego since she’s just the other woman. Mama Celia is going to make sure Diego pays for killing her daughter AND she’s going to take Danita from him!

Braulio tells Andres he’s going to leave him alone in the hotel for just a little bit because he must go pick someone up. Andres is not to open the door for anyone! Andres is excited because he thinks daddy is going to go pick up Mommy Amelia!!! Too bad he has no reason to be suspicious, because he now has the perfect opportunity to escape while Braulio is gone, but he won’t.

Martha is blaming herself, but Marino tries to tell her that she’s a good mother and it’s not her fault, Braulio must answer for his own choices! Martha rightfully points out that she let Braulio go, but Marino says she can’t change what already happened, they must find Braulio so he can answer for what he did.

Amelia thinks Diego should take a few days and lay low, but he won’t. He’s innocent and he has nothing to hide. He’s not going to run away like that coward Braulio! LOL The police and Mama want to think he’s guilty, but they have no proof, and he will fight them!

Vuelve – 2/14/24 part 3 of 3

Martha and Mariano arrive at GZ and the police are there looking for Liana. Martha doesn’t know where she is, and she finds out from the officer that Liana is the likely murderer of Aida. Martha calls Braulio and gets his voicemail. She leaves a voicemail begging him to turn himself in. She swears to stand by him if he does the right thing and never leave him alone. She loves him!!! She’s afraid if he keeps running, he’ll be killed by the cops and if he dies, she will die with him! We see Braulio hears the voicemail and is affected but mama wants him to turn himself in and he can’t do that. He wouldn’t survive jail.

Braulio is listening to the voicemail in a parking lot and Nuria arrives asking where Andres is.

Carmen calls from San Diego. Ros asks all about it and lies about Rai being out running errands because Rai is avoiding telling Carmen about his health condition. Ros promises to give Rai her new cell phone number. Ros wants Rai to tell the girls the truth and she thinks it’s selfish of him not to. Ros will support him because she promised to, but she wants him to know that she thinks his decision is wrong.

Chelo has some idea for drawing Fausto out. We didn’t hear the details. Chalo thinks it’s too dangerous, but he agrees to support her no matter what. Angustias doesn’t like it either, but reluctantly goes along and will alibi them to the others if they ask where they are. I don’t know exactly what Chelo is about to do but I’m surprised she’s taking the baby with her!

Santi is back at GZ complaining to Alberto about being helpless to stop Nuria. Alberto seems to think Santi should step back like Nuria asked and trust her to do what she plans without putting her in more danger by looking for her.

Someone keeps calling and calling as Nuria is begging Braulio to take her to Andres. Braulio is going to take her to Andres, but the phone is staying behind! He grabs the ringing phone from Nuria as she swears, she kept her word to tell no one! Braulio checks Nuria’s purse for a second phone and finds none. He looks at the caller ID on the ringing phone and answers to hear his brother’s voice: ‘Nuria?’

We fade to black.

Vuelve

Darcy, thank you for bringing us all the drama .

The fire scene was so odd . I don't know where to begin and evidently the writers didn't either . And Nuria, Chelo, and baby didn't go to the hospital due to smoke inhalation. Really? Not even that tiny bebe? Whatever . Then, instead of focusing on the bebe , Chelo is thinking of romance with Chalo. I am suspending my disbelief and looking for my beanie.

I guess we all knew That Nuria would take Braulio up on his offer so that she could get to Andres. Is Andres going to suddenly get his memory back ?

Fausto will drop Liana like a hot potato . I am curious to see the anvils that the writers chose to hand out to these two.

Imposible

I did watch pretty much of the series, but missed a few in the last week. Was the boy's ( Cemal) muteness explained? I figured he'd say "Papa" when Gulcemal returned to the family.
Yes,yes, much better hair on G.mal at the end.
Seems like the ending was rushed, with all the loose ends tied up quickly and neatly.
Don't care to ever see Deva actress or G.mal actor ever again. This wasn't a terrible dizi, just kinda odd, not up to the others I've seen. It's my least favorite, by far.
Hope something better shows soon!

Beth

imposible

Beth, nice to see you here. No, they never explained why Cemal was mute. Maybe his diagnosis was in some of the parts they cut out. I have a hunch that a lot was cut out so as to finish it off. It probably had terrible ratings and they were eager to get El Señor up in that time slot.

I sort of got to enjoy the Gulcemal actor as the show went on. He was ridiculous at the beginning, forcing Deva to stay with him, falling right into his mother's plan for him to fall in love and then lose her. But he did a pretty good job showing how much he came to love her.

And ITA on the Deva actor. I've sat through two dizis with her being hysterical 50% of the time. The whole plot was just weird, ending up with one big happy family after all the awful things they'd done to each other for months.

Busy day. I'll read and comment on Darcy's 3-part recap on the second page, which is almost ready to post.
