***The telenovela based on Alexandre Dumas' novel, The Count of Monte Cristo, will begin next Monday, July 1, starring Fernando Colunga in the title role of El Conde. Some of us may remember Season 1 of La Reina del Sur, in which Patti O'Farrell lent Teresa Mendoza a copy of the novel, translated into Spanish, while they were both in prison.***
El Señor de los Cielos concluded Wednesday evening, but there may be comments on the finale for Page 2 as well.

I will recap the premiere of the new novela with Fernando Colunga, El Conde on Monday at 10PM. Probably will be up very late Monday night.
I am a fan of Fernando , so I plan to watch. I am currently enjoying watching Fernando as Pirate Captain Rick in " Pasion" reruns on Unimas. So many familiar faces in thus old show ...Susana Gonzales, William Levy, Albert to Estrello, Marcelo Cordoba , Mariana Carr.... It is campy fun ..pirates, horses, ships, swirds, hoop skirts, treasure chests ... Susan

Patricia "La Tenienta" O'Farrell, masterfully portrayed by Cristina Urgel, is unforgettable.
I'll watch El Conde. Thanks for offering to recap the premiere, novelera. You always do an excellent job with those.
I hope we can get recappers or at least some commenters for this. I'm willing to recap Fridays.
Donde, it will be fun to watch another novela with you. I am missing having a good dizi to watch, but I like Fernando and ABC. Let's hope it is a good story. Susan

Lots of familiar faces in this telenovela. In addition to the star Fernando, the cast includes Sergio Sendel, Chantele Andere, Helena Rojas , Marjorie De Sousa, and Alejandro Avila. Wow, that is quite a cast. The clothes and settings should be interesting because it is set in the 1930s to 50s I think . Susan

Susan, I am also watching Pasión again on UniMas. Don't think I could hack it without a DVR. Two-hour episodes are kind of brutal, but zipping through the commercials AND the big scene where they show the whole cast dancing around probably cuts it to 1.5 hours. I wasn't sure I'd stick with it, but the plot is good. And I certainly don't remember what happened to all the characters, except Ricardo and Camila end up with a HEA.
