Caray, Caray!

Ginebra had the gall to tell the public on television that she had been unjustly arrested. She then said that justice would come for her accusers. Esteban was incredulous and outraged in view of the list of her crimes and the evidence presented. Humberto was equally astonished.

Mireya told Mauro that if he loved her his better side would leave her alone. He told her if she wanted to protect her sons she would leave with him. She refused, saying that he and his sister were demons. He said she had 24 hours to decide.

Ginebra provoked Paz over Maria, saying that God will allow her to recover what was taken from her “starting with the daughter I raised. Are you going to give her up, Paz Roble? Of course. Sam is mine... ” and the rest was drowned out by Paz' justifiable anger and her declaration that nobody will hurt Maria again. This was a clear threat. Esteban tried to calm her down. Paz said she could kill Ginebra with her own hands. Elvira turned off the TV set and said she understood. “I gave birth to her and she is full of hate, but you are not like that.” She then said she herself was the one who should confront Ginebra. Paz left the room to see Maria and Esteban followed her.

Paz told Mireya, who had been watching Maria. Esteban tried to assure them about the stepped-up security, including police protection in the barrio for Lupita. As he and Paz left the room Mauro's deadline echoed in Mireya's head.

Elvira started talking about next steps when Gala and Bosco entered, also having just found out. Elvira declared that this all started with her and it will end with her.

After dark, Ginebra got to Mauro's hideout apartment where Abdul let her in. They hugged as she said nothing will stop them.

Paz and Esteban checked up on their kids; all were still sleeping in the same room. They tried reassuring each other that all would be well.

Elvira and Lupita actually began talking like two mature friends. Elvira talked about her feelings for Fobo and Lupita about hers for Porfirio. They were encouraging each other. [Did it take this series of disasters to make this happen?]

Gala headed for the fridge. [Ominous music was heard as] She removed multiple containers from the shelves, then put them back for a plate.. Salomón stopped her before she could begin binge-eating and put the plate back. He poured a cold drink for her and got her talking. She started expressing her anger about Ginebra getting out of the slammer. He tried telling her that justice will prevail.

Esteban and Paz lay in bed, talking about their good fortune this far [Isn't it a little early for her to be wearing full p-js?]

Ginebra commented on Mauro's accommodations as she fingered her wine glass [I'm betting the contents came from Vampire Vineyards] and made her usual nasty insults about Elvira et al. She could not wait to pay them a visit to see their anguish. Mauro tried to tell her they needed to be careful and not commit any crimes. She had just been released and he was still officially a fugitive. They had to watch their step also because of Sabón. As he poured himself another drink he said that Paz and Esteban had increased security. She was not surprised. After more disparaging comments about their weakness in believing in love and related things she said this can't go on if they're all dead. Mauro paused for a moment then asked if she cared about missing out on Elvira's fortune. She paused for a moment then said (I think) that she won't have the money but will have the satisfaction of her suffering. Paz and Esteban will not get to enjoy their love. She was determined to “make them all suffer.”

As she got Mauro's agreement to help she toasted their sibling relationship. He smiled back, but it did not look sincere.

Esteban and Paz talked about packing up her restaurant because they were not going to be there for a while. MORE

Maria/Sam told Elvira about how Ginebra had abandoned her. Manolo and Eder were also reassuring to her. Elvira even accepted being called Yaya by Manolo. [Yes, Elvira has achieved redemption.]

The next day Esteban, Paz, Gala, and Bosco went to the restaurant to find Ginebra waiting outside. MORE

Ginebra was her usual condescending self, mocking the grief she caused with the death of Berenice Esteban caled her a psychopath to her face. Paz got on her for taking her daughter and the babies from other families. She mocked Bosco for his trust in her and the rape accusation against him. He asked if she had killed Giovanna. She said no, but it would have pleased her. More of the same. Abdul arrived – and with gloved hands – handed over a note which fell to the sidewalk as Ginebra said it was her address. She and Abdul left as it fell. She said to enjoy themselves because the cavalry won't come. Gala almost picked it up when Esteban flashed back to the disintegrating black widow wedding photos. He stopped her from touching the note. Paz went inside.

Kenzo and Nandy talked; this relationship is not ready for prime time, so finito.

Mireya told Humberto about Mauro's ultimatum. He wasn't buying her belief that Mauro loved her or that he would help set a trap for Ginebra. He told her not to do this because her sons, her mother, and her whole family needed her. She wanted her whole family to be happy and when she didn't mention himself he pointed that out. She said she believed om him. They kissed.

The note – which Esteban held up on a pen or other slender object – was put put in the sink. It had a hotel address on it. Esteban mentioned the photos. They had to know the address before the thing disintegrated. [Take a picture with your phone, FFS]. Gala wanted to confront the demon. Esteban realized this could be a trap. Bosco asked why they don't hire a hitman. Esteban said “Because we are not criminals.” Paz backed him up.

Mireya was floored by the kiss but determined to elope with Mauro. Humberto said that life was short and he had felt a connexion with her and her sons. He almost begged for a chance with her. He did not want her to risk her life. He offered to see her out of the city. She had to think about this. Another kiss later it looked like she might be on the fence again. [Music here sounded like it was from a classic Hollywood film.]

Mauro was packing a small suitcase for the elopement. He told the bald guy to tell Ginebra he was off to settle things with Sabon. He looked at the passport he got for Mireya and the man asked him why he was doing this. Mauro answered that it was not his business. The man stepped away with an apology. He may have heard Mauro say to himself that  "Mireya is the only woman I have ever loved my entire life. The sort of love one feels in the soul. Profound emotions although my heart is rotten. It's worth all the risks."

Jerónimo and Gema were still determined to kill Gala and Salomón. In fact, he was getting ready to meet with Ginebra. [Yes, it looked like they had just done something we're better off not having seen.]

Salomón and Pepa cleaned their room [Too bad Cobija wasn't riding on the Roomba], their differences seemingly forgotten. Mireya came in, eventually saying she would do anything for them. She hugged them as though she would never see them again. Pepa looked like he knew something was wrong. [It seems to me that Mauro never considered the possibility that Ginebra would retaliate by killing them].

Esteban and Paz were ready to leave; Gala and Bosco was with their security chief. Gala was wanting to confront Ginebra, which would not end well. Paz was at a loss about this. Esteban told Paz about a family he knew as a child and the issues about it. She thanked him for the parenting lesson.

Sabón and Ginebra talked about him impersonating a child psychologist; he showed her the faked credentials. He was going to get Esteban to hire him. She liked his plan. He began flirting with her and she wasn't having it, even shoving him away from her. He then told her that Mauro was on the brink of betraying her.
