Here are the names of some of the major members of the cast, followed by a brief account of the plot, translated from Telemundo's web site. The cast: "Fernando Colunga and Ana Brenda Contreras lead a star-studded cast including Marjorie de Sousa, Sergio Sendel, Chantal Andere, Víctor González, Helena Rojo and Omar Fierro." Premiere – Part 1 of 4
We begin in San Jacinto, a town in Jalisco, Mexico, in 1952. There’s a big party going on with lots of well-heeled guests and a string quartet playing. Someone says they don’t know where this Conde de Monenegra came from. Gerardo Villarreal (Sergio Sendel) tells one Vicente not to forget that he’s law and order around here and Vicente is in charge of the crooked stuff. We see said Count (Fernando Colunga) putting on his black tailcoat over the rest of his evening dress. He looks into the mirror with a bitter expression on his face and then goes down a long flight of stairs into the group telling them they’re welcome. They might want to know why he’s come here. He says it’s because his mother was born here. Later most of the cast are sitting around a dining table. He looks at each of them and thinks to himself “I’m no count. I’m the man they imprisoned unjustly, and I will get justice."
And then we go back to 1935
We open with the usual fiesta in town that we’ve seen so many times. People are enjoying themselves, eating, and there a guy on stilts. There is also a bullfight happening. Mariana Zambrano (Ana Brenda Contreras) is there with her nanny. [These Mexican nannies always stick close even when their charges are in their 30s.]
Alejandro Gaitán (Fernando Colunga) a bearded guy, is waylaid by a woman who grabs his wrist and begins to read his palm. She tells him he’s awaiting the woman of his life. She will save his life twice. As he pulls away, she adds: “They will betray you.” He doesn’t appear to hear this. Alejandro hears Mariana singing, gets closer to the stage and is captivated at the sight of her.
A couple are kissing in the barn. It’s Josefina de Zambrano (Chantal Andere) and Antonio Rodriguez (Uriel del Toro). Antonio seems to be a worker on one of the haciendas. A boy peeks at them, and Josefina says it’s the son of Chole. Antonio chases him down and cuts his throat.
We see a bit of the bullfight, but the bull lunges at a gate and escapes into the streets. Alejandro sees that Mariana might get knocked down and he moves her out of the way. He then is able to rope the bull and get it to stop charging. Gerardo doesn’t look happy. [Sendel has no cell phone to throw because they aren’t invented in 1935, but he looks pissed.] After the big rescue, a young redhaired woman sort of drapes herself all over Alejandro.
A young woman has come to speak with Gerardo Villareal. [Not sure what his role is supposed to be here…district attorney?] But she says her father is innocent, and she’ll do anything. We see Gerardo get up, lock the door, and close the blinds. [OK, Sendel is on his usual baddie road.]
We find out that Alejandro is the capataz (foreman) at the Gallardo hacienda. The other hands talk about him, saying he’s the first one at work at the last to leave.
We see a fire start at the Gallardo hacienda. Meanwhile, there’s a dinner at the Zambrano hacienda. Leopoldo Villareal (Javier Díáz Dueñas) is griping about how the government has let those campensinos get away with starting a sindicato (trade union). Mariana’s father, Benjamin Zambrano (Omar Fierro) says that he’s worried about how many of his people are sick from cholera and tuberculosis. [Clearlyl he’s the kind hacendado.] But his wife, Josefina, pipes up that he shouldn’t worry about that gentuza. Leopoldo says they need the government to get rid of los ejidos. [I believe this refers to common land created after the revolution so that each landowner had to share part of his land.]

Premiere – Part 2 of 4
We see that the Gallardo hacienda is up in flames. Alejandro goes into a burning building to save someone’s baby. He also has the men line up and start digging a firebreak.
Whoa, we later find out that Leopoldo Villareal had some guy start the fire. He’s angry about Gallardo being so kind to his employees. Gerardo is his son. Josefina is absolutely pushing for her step-daughter Mariana to marry Gerardo Villareal.
Alfredo Gallardo (Sergio Reynoso) is very, very grateful to Alejandro for the way he organized the guys in a firebreak. Another guy in a suit says Alejandro was like a general ordering his troops. Vicente, the administrator, is told by Alfredo Gallardo that Alejandro will be in charge until he recovers. Guess he was injured somehow in the fire.
The next day Mariana and her family are at the Villareal hacienda. A horse is pointed out, a mare that no one has been able to ride. Mariana’s brother, Felipe, (Roberto Romano…yikes, for those watching Vivir de Amor, it’s that dern Bruno again) puffs out his chest and gets on the horse. He’s thrown almost immediately. But Mariana speaks in a gentle voice to the horse and is able to ride her. Of course there’s a snake that scares the horse into becoming a runaway. Alejandro sees them race by, gets on his own horse and catches up. He then jumps onto the back of the mare and gets her to stop.
After Alejandro helps Mariana down from the horse, he tells her she won’t believe what happened to him the day before. A gypsy told him that he was going to meet someone special, the woman of his life. She smiles and tells him he’s now saved her life twice. They introduce themselves. She asks about his girlfriend, but he says she’s just a friend, She also tells him she doesn’t have a boyfriend.
The body of the murdered boy appears, snagged on a log in the river. Two women see this, one screams, and we get a brief glimpse of the recently departed Helena Rojo. She died in February of this year. If she’s playing a humble campesina, this is unusual for her.
Mariana and Alejandro arrange to meet up later at the 5:00 mass.
Leopoldo wants to put the mare down. But Mariana pleads for Candela. Gerardo Villareal gives her the horse. She’s obviously not wanting to be beholden to him.
Gerardo approaches his father about the fire. Leopoldo replies that Gallardo is a traitor to his class. Gerardo insists that he’s the law around here, and things like that cannot happen.
Alejandro tells Alfredo Gallardo that the fire was set in order to burn the largest amount of senbradíos (crops). There was evidence of the gas used. Gallardo says that he has enemies among the landowners. They have to be alert and even to be armed. Alejandro says he’ll do all that he can.
Josefina confronts Antonio, her lover. She’s worried about the boy. He says that he shut the kid’s mouth, and the body is well hidden.
Alejandro asks about when Vicente will return to work. Don Gallardo asks him to help Rodrigo with the administration. He then gives Alejandro the accounting books.

Mariana resists, but her father backs up Josefina (to keep the peace). Alejandro shows up at church with a rose and is teased. The guys tell him she’s fina and even lived in Europe. He realizes she’s not coming. One of the guys says he can help. The plan is for him to be a waiter at the big party.
Gerardo Villareal and Josefina de Zambrano chat. He’s admiring Mariana from across the room. Josefina tells him she hopes he won’t content himself with looking at her from a distance. He tells her not to worry. She’ll be his wife, unless Don Benjamin would poner piedras en el camino (come up with an obstacle, object). She assures him it’s done and dusted.
Gerardo and Mariana are dancing when Alejandro enters the room with some canapes on a tray. She sees him and looks ready to go after him. But Josefina urges her to play. She’s singing when Alejandro appears out of the corner of her eye, gives her a sad look, and leaves.
The evil administrator, Vicente, cooks up a plot. “The patron is going to send Alejandro with the money to pay the workers. Follow him, grab la marmaja (the dough) and give him a good beating. ¿Pan comido, no? (done deal).
Benjamin Zambrano is meeting with some English speakers. Josefina brings in a tray with some tequila, but the guys leave rather abruptly. She wonders why. Benjamin: “They wanted to change the name of my tequila and change the processing method to produce it cheaper.” She says that they need the money. “No gringo is going to tell me how to make tequila!”
Margarita, the redhead, shows up trying to seduce Alejandro. He tells her there’s really nothing between them. He tells her she’s beautiful, but he doesn’t love her. He puts her in the friend zone, and I have a feeling she’ll be a part of the conspiracy.
Josefina is smoking in the stable. She’s fuming about the lost income from the gringos. Her lover shows up. She says she wants Benjamin 6 feet under. Antonio replies that accidents happen all the time in a hacienda. They start making love again. [Hope she gets some straw up her tush.]
Josefina goes to some sketchy looking herbalist. She says she needs to get rid of a plague. Floripondio is recommended. The evil one says she guesses it shouldn’t leave any traces. Think this is a variety of nightshade.
Alfredo Gallardo comes to see Gerardo Villarreal to say that the fire wasn’t an accident. Gasoline was thrown on the crops. He wants an investigation.
Mariana comes to see Alejandro. He looks at her a bit coldly and says that they had arranged to meet at church. But when he was at the party, he saw her with her boyfriend. Mariana: “If I had a boyfriend, I wouldn’t do this.” She kisses him. She gets embarrassed and leaves. We see a Colunga smile, at last.

Ricardo, one of the Gallardo hands, has a visit from a woman named Juanita. She’s pregnant, and its his. He stares wide eyed.
Alejandro is on his way with the sack of money. He gets off his horse for a minute, and the guys Vicente sent start to hit him.
Gerardo comes to offer to invest in Benjamin Zambrano’s tequila business. Zambrano is skeptical. “You want to invest in my business, but I’ll be the one profiting?” After he’s assured that’s what Gerardo wants, he accepts. [Gerardo probably thinks it will help his wooing of Mariana.]
Alejandro comes to see Alfredo Gallardo and says that they tried to rob him. He hands over the money. Alfredo says he should just have given it to them. Alejandro says that some campesinos came along just then and that the maleantes (bad guys) were stopped. What worries him is that those guys were expecting him.
Josefina intercepts the maid with Benjamin’s tea and doses it, presumably with floripondiio.
Alejandro is going over the books. Vicente walks in and asks him what he’s doing with HIS books. Ale says that he’s reviewing the deposits. Vicente: ¡Méndigo lamebotas! (bootlicker, suckup). Vicente tells him not to get above himself; he’ll only have this job until he, Vicente, recovers. Alejandro: “One thing. Why are 13 bags of fertilizer missing and 10 bags of food for the chickens?” He inventoried the storerooms, and things don’t add up.
Gerardo and Mariana are at a nightclub. Felipe (her brother as chaperone?) is asked to go to the bar. Felipe calls him brother in law and leaves. Gerardo tells her he loves her and asks her to marry him.
Alejandro: “You knew I was going to take the money for the workers and, what do you know, I was assaulted. I’m going to show these books to Don Alfredo.” Vicente says he’s not going anywhere and pulls out a gun.

I just caught up with the first episode this morning. Thank you, novelera, for your fantastic recap! So much happened and you got it all. I so appreciated you including the actors names along with the characters. Yes, poor Sergio Sendel not being able to do his schtick with the phone. So funny. I also got a laugh out of when Ana Brenda was told the horse was INDOMABLE which made me think of the novela she starred in “Corazón indomable.”
Hey, we have a tale of revenge, a tequila company, literally snakes in the grass, equine beauty, low and high level connivers/criminals, established and murderers in the making, a first class villain with Sendel, poisoning, some apparently stupid guy named Ricardo, who is surprised that sex can lead to pregnancy, a possible coerced marriage on the horizon, a performance from the long gone Fernando Colunga, and so much more. What is not to like? I will try to keep watching.

Hey, we have a tale of revenge, a tequila company, literally snakes in the grass, equine beauty, low and high level connivers/criminals, established and murderers in the making, a first class villain with Sendel, poisoning, some apparently stupid guy named Ricardo, who is surprised that sex can lead to pregnancy, a possible coerced marriage on the horizon, a performance from the long gone Fernando Colunga, and so much more. What is not to like? I will try to keep watching.

Thanks Novelera. You did your homework as you knew all the characters names, real and fictional. That helped a lot. I thought the palm reader said he would save a women's life twice and sure enough he did, though that bull was pretty docile in the end. Also any horsewoman worth their salt knows how to stop a runaway horse. you don't scream ayudame as you gallop off into the woods.....
Does anyone know how long they stay in the past before going back to present day? The characters look way too old in those scenes and it is quite distracting.
Wonder if the actor that plays Bruno in Vivir has all his tats in this show, can't imagine it was a thing back in the 30's and 40's, especially to the extent people have them nowadays.

I will put up another recap tonight, probably briefer. What's up with Google/Blogger? It makes me sign in now. I did that yesterday. It used to continue to know who I was every day. The stupid thing can't remember the password I set yesterday. Now I've done two-step verification two days in a row and I'm not a happy camper. It's the same blasted computer I've typed into this blog with for, I think, 6 years now. My philosophy on computers is: if it ain't broke don't fix it; i.e., buy another one.

Epi. #2 – Part 1 of 3
We resume with Vicente holding a gun on Alejandro. Another ranch hand comes into where they are and Vicente has to put away his gun. Vicente leans forward and tells him that those who don’t take advance don’t get to be old.
The next scene is a lovely outdoor wedding that includes some good norteño music. Mariana and Alejandro are both in attendance on opposite sides of the aisle. We discover that Helena Rojo is playing Alejandro’s mother, Guadalupe de Gaítan. I think Fernando is doing a good job portraying a humble, hardworking guy.
Afterwards Mariana and Ale meet at “their place”. They talk about that kiss. He makes a formal offer to court her.
A mother and daughter come into a dining room in full luto (mourning clothes, including veils). One of the town gossips tells Josefina that the daughter has been left a lot of money. This comes up right after said gossip mentions Felipe being seen carousing.
Alejandro’s mother warns him about flying too high. It’s the same old classist stuff we’ve seen many times. As I watch this scene I think of the same two actors as mother in law and son in law in Amor Real, probably my all time #1 favorite.
For a change Sendel isn’t the worst villain in the novela. His father, Leopoldo, is much worse. He tells his henchman, Ramiro Menchaca, that the dead don’t talk. [Referring to the guys who set the Gallardo crops on fire.]
Antonio, Josefina’s barn buddy, is showing Don Benjamin one of the horses when Benjamin feels faint and sinks to the ground. [Guess that’s a slow acting nightshade.] Mariana has come home from the wedding and runs to her father.
Adela, the officious nanny, tells Alejandro that Mariana won’t be meeting him as planned. Her father fell ill. She tells him not to dare set foot in that hacienda. She’s just outrageous, telling him they’re not equals.
We get a revealing scene between Josefina and the wastrel Felipe. I am a bit confused about his parentage. She seems to be his mother, but his name is Zambrano, after Benjamin. And we found out that Mariana is not Josefina’s child. So…this charming guy makes some crack about the vejestorio de tu marido (geezer or old goat of your husband). To me this sounds like he’s a stepson, but maybe time will tell. She insists he get married. When he says he wouldn’t appear in church even tied up, she reminds him that he was the one who stole the money, not the maid who was blamed for it. She goes on to say he spent the money on prostitutes.
Benjamin has survived. He has a scene with his daughter where he advises her to only marry for love.
Ramiro (a truly evil looking guy) shows up to shoot the guys who did the burning at the hacienda.

Mariana has “the talk” with Gerardo. She tells him she only thinks of him as a friend and lets him down gently. She doesn’t mention anyone else in her life. He takes it well saying he was pushing too quickly.
Ramiro brings one of the guys before Leopoldo, who gets in a good rant about horrible, ungrateful peons. Gerardo and Mariana come out and see the guy kneeling, with blood on his face.
Alfredo Gallardo praises Alejandro for saving the hacienda. He also gives him something valuable on one of those red cloth bags. Alejandro tries to refuse it, but Alfie insists.
Gerardo tells Alfredo that the guy who set the fire is one of his workers. They found all the stuff he used to set the fire in his belongings. The guy is named Paco. Alejandro objects, saying he’s been drunk a few times, but not that kind of guy. Gerardo gives him a poisonous look. When they go to the cell, Paco has “hung himself”.
Some family arrives at the Zambrano hacienda. It’s Paulina Zambrano (Erika de la Rosa) who might be a cousin, not positive. Mariana tells Paulina that, despite what her stepmother said a moment ago, she doesn’t have “plans” with the fiscal.

Either he’s running for the first time or is running for reelection, I’m not sure. Gonzalo pulls out a folder and shows him that all the money Leopoldo donated for his campaign is still there, untouched. [Ay, he’s spitting in the devil’s eye!]
Mariana and Alejandro have come to one of those handy hacienda huts and are soaking wet. He offers to go outside so she can undress decently. He wants them to be intimate after they are married. Well, that idea went nowhere. They definitely make love in the hut.
Josefina and a friend are at a convent doing some “good works” when an older woman bursts out, calling Josefina hija. Josie’s face freezes. The nuts tell her that the woman is delirious. We see a flashback to a staggering woman leaving Josefina at the convent.

Speaking of Gonzalo he’s giving a speech, asking for some humble peoples’ votes when a woman gives him a note about who set the fire at the Gallardo hacienda. He goes to a house and talks with one of the guys, wounded, who was one of the three. He implicates Ramiro and Leopoldo.
Alfredo is praising Alejandro at some gathering. He introduces him to Benjamin Zambrano, who then presents him to his family. Josefina refuses to shake his hand and Mariana smiles ear to ear.
Margarita again rejects a handsome cowboy, who tries to stop her running after Alejandro. He then takes her to where Mariana and Alejandro have been meeting. She sees them together, kissing. Uh oh! Of course she goes right to Josefina.
Gonzalo continues to risk his life. He rejects an alliance with Gerardo, telling him he knows Leopoldo is behind the fire.
Alejandro proposes and gives Mariana a ring. Oh boy. Josefina looks on. She goes right to Gerardo. She kind of makes it sound like he’s stalking Mariana.
Mariana tells Benjamin she’s in love. Alejandro is expected there to ask for her hand.
Gerardo shows up on the Gallardo hacienda, threatening Alejandro, who doesn’t back down. He basically tells Alejandro that he's completely beneath Mariana.
Josefina puts her mother up in a cheap motel and gives her a bottle. [dosed? I kind of think it’s too early to bump off such an interesting character.]
Alfredo tells Vicente he has a new job for him in San Luis Potosí, making it sound like a promotion. But Vicente asks if Alejandro is taking the admin job and is told yes.
A guy in a scary mask (but the same build as Ramiro) walks right up and shoots Gonzalo Aguilar and his wife. Alejandro hears the shots and comes running. He puts his coat around the man and runs after the shooter. They fight some, bad guy drops his gun, and Alejandro picks it up. Alejandro runs after the guy. Josefina, horrified, witnessed the whole thing.
While Mariana raves about Alejandro to her father, we see police arrive (got there awfully fast) and accuse Alejandro of killing Gonzalo Aguilar.

I think I now know the main characters ,but I am still struggling with some of the minor ones. There are two big, nasty, scary older guys win big mustaches that I get confused. I think one is Gerardo's ( Sendel) father, and the other is working for the same guy as Alejandro.
Yikes..there have already been a lot of murders . That hitman in the hooded trench coat wss scary. Of course Ale had to pick up his gun . Right.
Mariana and Ale got one stolen moment , and now ...... Rain always sends the country lovers into a secluded barn, shed , whatever.
The cowboy who likes the girl who stalks Ale looks very familiar to me , but I can't figure out what show I saw him in.

I think I now know the main characters ,but I am still struggling with some of the minor ones. There are two big, nasty, scary older guys win big mustaches that I get confused. I think one is Gerardo's ( Sendel) father, and the other is working for the same guy as Alejandro.
Yikes..there have already been a lot of murders . That hitman in the hooded trench coat wss scary. Of course Ale had to pick up his gun . Right.
Mariana and Ale got one stolen moment , and now ...... Rain always sends the country lovers into a secluded barn, shed , whatever.
The cowboy who likes the girl who stalks Ale looks very familiar to me , but I can't figure out what show I saw him in.

I loved your referring to Antonio as "Josefina's barn buddy."
I keep wondering why Benjamin ever married Josefina. When he tells Mariana she should marry for love, is he motivated by regret that he didn't do so? Or did he do so but Josefina had other motives?
BTW, I suspect you may be using a defective spell-checker. In the recap's first paragraph, you say that Vicente tells Alejandro that "those who don't take advance don't get ahead." I assume you wrote "advice," not "advance." Similarly, at the end of part 2, my guess is that you wrote that "nuns," not "nuts," tell Josefina that the woman is delirious.

I agree with everyone who mentioned yesterday how hard it was to believe that Mariana would not recognize Alejandro posing as el conde. Epi. #3 – Part 1 of 2
These buggers sure know how to pack a lot in the first week. And they only show about two short commercials early on.
No review of yesterday, we get right into it. Alfredo Gallardo tries to help, and he’s the one who tells Guadalupe (Alejandro’s mother) that her son was detained. Margarita overhears.
A maid tells Mariana about Ale being arrested. Josefina remembers seeing the murder, but I have more chance of winning the lottery than Josie telling what she saw.
Alejandro tells Gerardo Villareal that he was with Ruben and Vicente when the shots were fired so he could not have killed them. And he also says that he cut the real killer with his own knife. There is a big crowd of supporters for Alejandro on the stairs of the courthouse.
Gerardo (er Sendel) plays the two witnesses perfectly, first saying they’ll be accomplices. Then of course they won’t say Ale was with them.
Josefina’s mother has gotten herself spruced up in the cheap motel and has somehow gotten into Don Benjamin’s office. She steals a couple of things and then, when Josie and Ben enter, she pretends to be Josie’s nanny. The look on Josie’s face…priceless.
Because Ale mentioned Ramiro’s wound, Gerardo goes right after him accusing him of killing Aguilar and his wife. But he tells him he doesn’t work for Leo anymore; he works for him.
Ale meets with Alfredo and tells him what really happened. Alfredo says he’ll provide a good lawyer.
We get a couple of really fantastic scenes with Josefina and her avaricious mother. This is a quick recap, but we can see where the rottenness came from. Chantal gets to really chew the scenery telling her mother what it was like to sleep with 50 other kids with bedbugs. And to be adopted by someone wanting a servant or a sex object.
Mariana pleads for Gerardo’s help. She just says she knows her mother, and that they’re good people.
A kangaroo court ensues. Actually, apologies to marsupials everywhere. They’d be outraged by this trial.
Some real hanging judge says there’s been a lot of disturbances in town and, for this reason, the courtroom is closed. He has the gall to say this is to avoid any violence toward the accused.
Gerardo says that the accused’s defense lawyer isn’t here. The judge is willing to postpone a day, but Gerardo suggests the abogado de officio (public defender). The judge is, of course, fine with this. Alejandro is indignant, asking why he can’t choose his own lawyer.

Vicente and Ruben lie on the stand, saying they were in a cantina drinking and never saw Ale.
Josefina’s mother sees her with her barn buddy. When Josie tries to send her away with all the money she can come up with, she refuses. When Josie says Ben will believe her, the woman mentions the barn buddy and holds up the vial of nightshade. Josie bashes Bad Mommy on the head with a shovel. Antonio sees the body.
Alejandro’s lawyer is useless. The judge declares him guilty and sentences him to 99 years.
As he’s being dragged out of the courthouse, Ale’s friends create a disturbance and get him away. He’s sort of crouched down waiting for the coast to clear when Margarita shows up, having seen it all. She wants him to go with her to Morelia. She says she’s his woman. He finally blows up at her. And, just like she did before, Margarita ruins everything. She goes to Gerardo.
Alejandro and Mariana have a tender moment together. She wants to go with him. But, thanks to Margarita, he’s apprehended again.
Gerardo comes to gloat through the bars. Ale tells him he now sees the trap, just like the one they set for Paco Lopez. This is a very good scene between two good actors. A: “You did this because you want Mariana for yourself. You’re covering up for the real killer. I’m going to make sure people learn this.” G: “You’ll never speak with anyone ever again.”
Josie doses Ben again. When he asks why Rosario didn’t bring the tea, Josie tells him she had to fire her for stealing some valuables.
Ale’s friend’s wife gives birth to a son, but dies.
Ruben talks with Margarita. He figures out that she told the cops where to find him because she was disgruntled. She tells him that she’ll be waiting for him when he gets out, showing she’s the one who truly loves him. He tells her about the 99 years and she sinks down.
Gerardo and Leo fight about who’s the bigger crook. Leo tells his son that he’s not going to be the fiscal in San Jacinto any longer. He’s talked with the attorney general of the state, and Leo will be posted in some town in the sticks.
A month has passed. Alfredo Gallardo has found out where Alejandro is imprisoned. But Vicente hears about it and tells Gerardo. Sendel’s blue eyes bulge. When Alfredo and a good lawyer arrive at the prison, a crooked warden describes a prison uprising, a big fire, and two dead prisoners, one of them Alejandro Gaitan. Alfredo is shown a burnt up corpse.
Gerardo is shown telling the crooked warden, who would have been happy to have him killed for less money, that he wants the guy to suffer. We see Alejandro hustled out of his cell to somewhere else.
Alejandro may not be in Chateau d’If, but I have a feeling it won’t be much fun.

Novelera, you are so quick with the update. Thanks so much for this it is a great help. I'm on the road so was only able to see this episode on my phone. Well I actually found it on my son's TV but it was only the last ten minutes so I had to use the phone. So many characters and many look similar! I'm so lost. I wish cc's put who is speaking in front of the CC's. ViX does this for some shows and it is so helpful, especially in the first episodes.

MANY thanks, novelera, for another very helpful recap! Like Kat and some others, I'm still finding it difficult to distinguish one character from another. The age issue bothers me less, except occasionally with regard to Alejandro. On the whole, they've done a pretty good job of making him look a lot younger than he (Colunga) really is, but for some reason the crows feet bother me. It wouldn't have been all that hard to hide them, I imagine, so I'm surprised they didn't do so.
I may be the only one who is looking forward to a number of scenes in the prison. After all, if the telenovela is based on Dumas' novel, there has to be an Abbé Faria character who saves a despondent Ale and, over a number of years, teaches him a lot that, as a relatively uneducated campesino, Ale wouldn't know. What he learns from the Abbé Faria character will be vital to his success as El Conde.
