Angel / Aurora

I will need a second viewing in the AM to clarify a few points so this episode will not be up until tomorrow. We are scheduled to have #55 tomorrow.

Part 1 of 3

Jezabel said Aurora's words hurt. Aurora wanted her to learn to care for her son. Jezabel said she would. She asked whether Demon said what he was going to do with Fabrizio's ashes. Aurora said no, but also that he needed time. Jezabel said she'd prefer they be put in the family niche [so she can look at her trophy, no doubt]. Aurora was going to Las Flores the next day and Jezabel said that if the DNA test was positive, she was not to suffer anymore. She said that the hospital administrator had not communicated with Elvia, and that Rocha had been a scammer. It was not certain whether the tests had been done there or elsewhere. Jezabel told herself afterward that Aurora was stubborn.

Understanding Fabrizio's suicide was difficult for Helena, Demon, and Antonio. Helena told Demon he had to understand and forgive his father. Demon had difficulty with the notion that his father had killed his own father. Antonio said he was innocent and flashed back to a conversation with Fabrizio which confirmed that he did not kill his father, as there was no evidence of asphixia. Further, that Jezabel was capable of rewriting history. Demon looked relieved. Of course he also didn't look surprised at the idea of Jezabel torturing his father with a guilt he didn't deserve.

Patricia came to see Jezabel who told her to stop the tears of a clown. Patricia claimed that Fabrizio was important to her [We can assume that this is due to nobody else being willing to boink her]/. Jezabel then said he would have killed her eventually and that nobody must know she had those videos.

The Lunch Club talked about the forensic report. Aquiles had been looking for evidence about Carlitos' suicide and found proof that Aurora had been raped. Cassandra wondered why Jezabel had that. Esperanza was getting scared, Glorio said that Jezabel is more evil than they thought. Two people close to Jezabel had committed suicide. Aquiles took out an envelope and slid it across to Esperanza. [I think there was a cut in this scene because we didn't see Cassandra or Glorio leave]/

Aurora and JC talked about Demon sleeping in his father's room while holding the last shirt he had worn. The lack of an autopsy looked suspicious to JC despite assumptions about his psychiatric issues. Jezabel and Patricia came in, looking inappropriately cheerful. Patricia made assumptions about the upcoming wedding and JC moving in. Aurora told her this was none of her business and ordered Patricia out, saying she was not welcome there. “This is Jezabel's house and she is my friend,” said the actriz de quinta. “This is my house,” said Aurora at which point Jezabel motioned for Patricia to leave. She complied but not before kissing JC specifically as a dig against Aurora. After she was out Aurora declared that this was the last time she was ever to enter the house. Jezabel said “Okay” and went upstairs.

Briana was in the barrio, forcing her company on the Santos'. She offered to help with Vicki's medical bills [Chica, creating an obligation like this is a bad move]. When Angel said they were going to the beach she asked if she could join them.

Demon was playing needy with Helena.

Angel was actually willing to allow Briana to come to the beach with his family, She asked if they could eventually be a couple.

Fabrizio's ashes were delivered [This looked a little soon]. Helena told Demon they should not be a couple yet; he needed to recover. She did not want there to be any more mistakes. He said his feelings for her never changed and h asked her to accompany him to Acapulco to scatter the ashes. She agreed. His facial expression when he hugged her implied that this was all an act.

Aurora, JC, Jezabel, and Antonio had coffee and talked about this. Antonio said that Demon would recover. Jezabel seemed to want Demon to stay in the mansion. Aurora didn't like this and JC commented that the lack of an autopsy leaves unknowns. Jezabel said he should talk to Demon about this if he has doubts. Pintas showed up, barging in past Carmela. Antonio looked at Jezabel for her reaction. Jezabel called Pintas by another name and JC got suspicious, recalling his first encounter with him in the elevator [He was wearing the same leather jacket]. Antonio also looked like he smelled a rat. Pintas said something about a job. JC said “Do we know each other?” Pintas denied this and tried to leave. Jezabel said the equivalent of “Don't call us, we'll call you” then he left. Jezabel went back to her seat, bitching about employees and their nerve.

Angel said that this might happen in time. Briana said she would make him the happiest man in the world. [In your dreams, little Miss Mean Girl]

JC then recalled seeing Pintas in the elevator at the office and later shouting at Aurora outside the building. Jezabel lied that Pintas was there a few days previously about a job as a gardener. Demon and Helena entered, with the box containing the ashes. Jezabel said that Padre Vigilio would be there the next day to say a special mass. Demon thanked her. He said that his father meant so much to him and how hard it was to lose him so quickly. They told the others they were going to Acapulco to pour them into the sea. He wanted to talk to Jezabel in the library.

El Morro – Mario – was at Maggie's to see Rolando. Maggie not want him to have anything to do with Vampi, Huevo, or the others. For the moment, he was there just to see Rolando.

Vicki figured out that Demon got Angel free in exchange for him giving up Helena. Pascual mentioned Antonio's comment about the two of them separating. Angel gave his previous excuse for this. Pascual said that Demon offered to buy them a house. and Vicki told him that if he loved Helena he should fight for her by demonstrating his worth, getting another job, etc. He hugged her and said he would.

Demon accused Jezabel of killing his father by driving him insane. She almost laughed when saying that Fabrizio committed suicide. She insisted that he went mad at having killed his father and counter-accused Demon of the same by not putting him back in the manicomio. He insisted his father was innocent and accused her again. She accused him again for taking his father to the mansion from Antonio's house. She went into a standard maternal rant about “all I did for you.” At “Ordered to kill” he told her to shut up, took the ashes, and left the room.

Maggie finally got Rolando to go to bed. She then told Mario they needed to get a few things straight.

Jezabel closed the door and opened a small safe on the bookshelf. She took out some cash and left.

JC was about to leave but he and Aurora took to the sheets instead.

Part 3 of 3

Pintas lay in wait for Jezabel and then argued with her. He flashed back to seeing Patricia with Fabrizio and Patricia and Briana in the barrio. Jezabel told him she called him Romualdo so that Aurora would not realize who he was. She warned him about JC who could find out about him. He said he would disappear until she needed him. She gave him some dinero, dismissed him, then called Briana to add the name Romualdo Garcia Garcia to the janitorial payroll with a recent resignation. She asked why and Jezabel only answered that she was to do this immediately or be fired.

Love talk for Aurora and JC.

Jezabel and Luis talked over the phone. He said he would wake up at 3AM and think about her. He wanted to see her but she put it off because of recent issues, including not wanting any more conflict with his father. He really wanted to see her. He told her that his father was overnighting with Aurora. Jezabel was caught off guard and did not like that.

Antonio and Helena almost argued. He had determined that Pascual worked on Aurora's house back in the day.

Angel asked Pascual why he thought that Jezabel was worse than Briana. Pascual said that he knew Jezabel when she was young. And that like her father she has no heart.

Helena understood that Antonio wanted to find Aurora's rapist. She was still annoyed with her father over his interference over what he said to Angel. She said he needed a new life. He said he had a moral duty to Aurora [Neither of them know how closely these two things could be related].

Pascual said he did not know Aurora back in the day but he did know Miguel and Jezabel. Miguel had treated his workers very badly. He tried to close the subject but ended up telling him to be careful of her and never speak of his family.
 

Angel/Aurora. Another excellent recap, Urban! Some very nice snarky comments as well. We seem to go back and forth about whether to feel sympathetic toward Demian. How long until Antonio figures out Pascual's real connection to Juventino/Pintas and what happened to Aurora? Jezebal seems to be throwing obstacles in the way.
 

Angle / Aurora #54

Today's episode has the same issue, so I will have to watch it again this weekend.

Demon is very damaged and he wavers between knowing the truth and imagining other things. Jezabel will systematically destroy him the same way if he fights her or wants to do anything else she doesn't like. She was probably afraid he would learn the whole truth about her gaslighting of his father. Now he has figured it out.

She wants him to marry Helena because of her family assets but Helena is a tough nut she can't crack. Jezabel is a truly difficult adversary because it might usually be difficult to prove her guilty of murder in these situations.

Part 1 of 3

Helena asked Antonio if this creep worked there. She didn't want him to hurt Angel's family. That was not his intention. She advised her father to let Aurora marry JC and be happy.

In her bedroom it looked like this would be the case. She told JC she had a very bad vibe at the sight of this “Romualdo.” He told her that they could not allow him to cross her path ever again. They kissed and she said she could get over her trauma with him. He said she was the best thing that ever happened to him.

Pascual told Angel not to tell Vicki. He gets a bad vibe around bad people. [This must be about Jezabel].

Possible deleted scene: Antonio wondered what made Fabrizio take his own life. He thought back to past encounters, including their youth when he became engaged to Aurora, ending with Fabrizuo telling him he came back to save Demon from Jezabel's claws.

Demon sat on the floor holding a pillow, looking at the box of ashes, and asking Fabrizio for forgiveness. He flashed back to the first incident with broken glass, then to childhood, then to the most recent incident. He felt responsible for his death. He cried.

Jezabel looked in on Aurora and JC with an evil thought. She planned the same fate for him [undoubtedly using Luis as a weapon].

Anita and Angel had a disagreement. Vicki tried to settle this. Antonio came over to talk to Pascual about something important from the past. Vicki looked disturbed.

Mario ate at Maggie's and he asked about whether Pintas and Jezabel knew each other. Maggie looked shocked.

The priest arrived for the mass for Fabrizio. Helena said she would pay for the monthly masses. Padre Virgilio thanked her and asked asked about the wedding date. Jezabel said it would be very soon. Helena tried to deny this but Jezabel ran over her, saying the padre just needed the date.

Aurora tried talking to Demon. He was not inclined to accept her love because it was just crumbs of hr love for the ghost Gabriel. He was angry with both her and Jezabel for denying him the important love of a father, claiming she had no understanding of this. He demanded that she leave him alone.

JC approached Briana about “Romualdo.”

Vicki served Antonio some coffee as Angel prepared to leave for classes. and decided not to wait for Pascual. He asked Vicki about whether Pascual ever worked in Las Flores. She hastily said no before leaving with Anita. Angel asked Antonio why he needed to talk to Pascual about Las Flores.

Part 2 of 3

It looked like Angel is also back to college, which Antonio thought was a good thing. He offered any needed help. We hear little or nothing about the past. Angel mentioned Edgar.

Anita asked Vicki what this was all about and was told that these were adult matters. Pintas harassed Vicki on the street, saying that Pascual was a busybody. Vicki became afraid.

Angel knew nothing of 30 years ago, so no revelation here.

Briana showed JC the falsified employment papers regarding Romualdo Garcia Garcia. She said he came to the company two years previously and resigned one month ago. JC had questions she was not prepared for, the last of which was “Did Jezabel know him?”

Rolando was thrilled to pieces to have two parents. Mario flashed back to his previous conversation with Maggie about Pintas and Jezabel. She had been incredulous at the idea of Jezabel having anything to do with Pintas. He was sure this was more than anyone thought. He later told Rolando his full name. That made the bou's name Rolando Juarez Perez. Later they met Vicki and Anita on the way to school. Vicki warned them about Pintas who was watching from across the street... and plotting against Em Morro.

Helena and Demon talked about the mass and his sadness. Antonio had not been at the service, but Demon said he understood, saying he was grateful to him for helping his father. Helena then mentioned the priest and how he was waiting for their wedding date. Aurora came out just as Demon tried to kiss Helena so he went off on Aurora. Helena was disturbed by this and Demon accused Aurora of wanting Helena to be with Angel.

Briana called Jezabel to tell her about JC's visit to her office.

Aurora told Demon he was mistaken, but he would not be convinced. “Angel is not your son,” etc. Aurora got angry with him and walked away. Helena scolded Demon and he apologized to her. Elvia walked past them.

JC and Luis ran into Edgar who advised JC to be careful of Luis being with Jezabel. This almost became a fight until Edgar's phone rang. It was Antonio wanting to meet with him. He walked off. JC told Luis that he was not to trust Jezabel.

Elvia and Aurora talked at the mansion. Aurora explained that her father had returned in the wee hours of the morning and had told her nothing. She was not sure what she could find out in Las Flores. She advised Elvia to check all institutions, orphanages, etc.

Dr Rubio paid a house call at the Santos home to give Vicki a serious injection. She told her to come to the hospital after the beach weekend for treatment. She told her that Demon had deposited one million pesos [about $50,000 USD] for her care. After she left Vicki pondered this and wondered “What did you do, Angel?”

The lunch crew talked about the connexion between Pintas and Jezabel. Esperanza thought out loud about this as Maggie talked with Aquiles and Glorio.

Angel went to Demon's office to deliver condolences and his thanks for Vicki's treatments. Demon was grateful st first but his anger came in at the thought that this barrio boy still had both his parents, loving parents worthy of envy. All Demon had was money. He told him to see Brenda about a loan. Helena came in and then Angel left. Helena was surprised to see Demon at work.

Aquiles handed the duplicate music box to Maggie saying it was for Rolando, but it looked to Glorio that he was interested in Maggie.

Helena talked business with Demon regarding videogaming as a theme for a new line. He seemed to like the idea [maybe knowing that his egg donor won't?]. As she started to leave he called her back. She would not let him kiss her. He told her he had lent money to Angel.

Edgar and Antonio talked about the fire and then about Pintas. Edgar told the same lie about an artist of that name, saying that Patricia must have been confused and overheard something she didn't undrstsand. [Antonio looked like he knew Edgar was lying].

Briana booked a flight and hotel room telling Angel she was paying for this, leaving him to take care of the food bills for the weekend [Angel, don't be a fool here].

Aurora and JC talked about the investigation; both trusted Elvia. They talked about Luis and Jezabel, JC was hoping that this would end with Luis studying abroad.

As Briana packed for the weekend Patricia asked her if she could come along. Then whether shewould like to have a baby brother. Briana looked perplexed [which I stopped feeling as I typed this because I flashed back to her kissing JC in front of Aurora], then suspicious.

Angel and Aquiles talked about the beach trip, then Angel was worried about Pascual, thinking that he may have done something bad in his youth.

Antonio looked at the roster of names and saw Pascual's name on the same list as Juventino's. The lightbulb went on.
 

Angel/Aurora. Another excellent recap, Urban! A lot of the action kind of has an aura of almost being over--but the novela isn't even half done. I expect there will be a lot of complications and barriers to Aurora's finding out the truth about Angel, etc. Is Aurora coming closer to recognizing Pintas? Again, Demian's reaction to Fabrizio's death makes him seem more human and almost sympathetic--but then he blows that, of course, by being nasty to Angel and overly hard on Aurora. I'm glad Angel's going back to the university (nothing says middle class lik a college degree), and it seems as if Antonio is willing to help finance his studies. What conclusion will Antonio arrive at about Pascual? A valid one?
