Part 1 of 3

Patricia had not run out after all but her sacrifice was worth it as Pintas started spilling the beans.

Aurora told JC she will keep her word to Vicki to be a mother to Angel.

Jezabel tried calling Patricia who did not answer the first time. On the second attempt they agreed to meet at the café later. Patricia asked Pintas more questions, coaxing him with hopes of more money from Jezabel.

Everyone sat down in the Santos house. JC told Angel he had the strength to become the pillar of the family. Angel seemed to want to return to the barrio. Aurora told him he was not alone; they would help him.

In the barrio Maggie, Rolando, Esperanza, Aquiles, Glorio, and Luis sat around in black, mourning the loss, singing praises of Vicki's generosity and goodness.

Jezabel and Patricia talked in the cafeteria, saying that the police were close to finding Pintas. Patricia said this situation was complicated. “The beast must die.”

Luis sat next to Rolando at the funeral. Briana had the gall to take Angel's arm as though she were still his novia. Aurora though back to Vicki's last words. Antonio thought he could not hold back any longer. Helena and Demon entered. Demon almost glared at Angel who told Aurora he understood her years of sadness. Aurora told him his mother trusted her to take care of her family. He thanked her.

Patricia was nervous at the prospect of killing Pintas. Jezabel said it should not be difficult if she got him seriously drunk first and there was that money... Jezabel called forth crocodile tears for Vicki's funeral.

Pascual took Angel aside and told him they should leave the area. He reminded him that someone tried to kill him.

Pintas had Vampi and Huevo over. He wanted to go back to Vicki's funeral, but they reminded him that everyone knew he had killed El Morro.

Antonio interrupted Pascual and Angel to tell them he would pay the funeral expenses. Pascual thanked him. They mentioned the danger of staying there and all agreed to talk later.

Demon wanted to leave but Helena did not. He went outside for air.

Cassandra asked Edgar if he was going to Vicki's funeral. He said No, with an air of indifference. He did not get why she felt any sadness. She finally told him she was pregnant. He looked confounded and confused.

Aurora sat next to Helena who said it was not the time for this conversation but she felt deceived. She said that Vicki had never been insincere to her and wanted her to be there at the end. She rose, went to the casket, and cried. Briana held onto Angel's hands to prevent him getting up to go to her. Demon came back inside to her and she said she wanted to go far away to Las Flores. Angel looked at her and Briana must have noticed.

Cassandra and Edgar argued because he never wanted children due to his childhood having been abnormal. He told her he didn't love her and that this was her responsibility. When he said he'd see her at the office she said she would resign because of the falsified death certificate.

Pintas gave his henchies some cash for cleaning up his place and mentioned he would have a job for them soon.

Edgar asked who knew about this. She told JC who told Aurora. They argued again. She told him to get out of this, away from Jezabel and Demon before it was too late

Pintas talked on the phone to Vampi who said the cops were combing the barrio for him.


Night

Edgar thought about Cassandra's announcement. He was angry, Teté came to see him. He hugged her but did not get away with saying nothing was wrong. She apologized for not having been a good mother. He said he wasn't well and needed solitude.

The funeral started as Jezabel and Patricia entered [At least they were dressed in black]. Pascual was not pleased as Jezabel started the most hypocritical spiel of her life. Patricia sat next to Briana who told her to behave herself. Angel addressed the mourners through tears and spoke of Vicki's goodness. There were flashbacks to happy times. He cried as he touched her photo and was embraced by Pascual and Anita, then Aurora. He hugged her back. Vicki's voice was heard saying “The greatest joy of a mother is the return of a stolen child.”


Three Days Later

Anita told her teacher she didn't like being home alone. The teacher told her her friends had a surprise for her. Cue the Kiddie Broadway Production Number from her soccer team. She flashed back to happy times.

Glorio and Aquiles argued again about the Luis/Jezabel situation.

Aurora addressed the board and Demon resigned as CEO, saying he would take the regional office. Jezabel said nothing but looked shocked.

Titi and Simón went to Angel's office to tell him that Pintas was being sought and they knew where he was hiding. Angel wanted to leave with them. Pascual came in to chase them out. He insisted they needed to leave the area. He told Angel that if he did not leave with them he would leave with Anita and he would never see them again. He was determined to get Anita away from danger and a life of deceptions.

Part 3 of 3

Jezabel told Demon not to go, saying this decision was premature. Antonio reminded them about the investors' need to be informed. Helena said she made this decision with Demon, not her dad. Nobody was able to change his mind [Demon in a purple suit? Does he think he's royalty?]. He left the conference room and Jezabel followed him.

Angel asked Pascual why he was leaving. He answered that he could not take another loss; he was afraid of losing him. “When we are together, Vicki is always there.” He brought up the future event of Angel getting married. Angel said they would be a package deal when he marries. They hugged.

Demon told Jezabel he had enough of everyone, including her. She then got on his case about how much she did to secure the company for him and now he gives up his position to his aunt. She talked about his father having been a coward running from the first sign of danger. They had made a deal and he said he didn't want a deal with her. She said he was as worthless as his father. He demanded she respect the memory of his father and told her she had no soul. She told him to watch his words because she knows what to do and that Helena would throw him over for Angel. He dared her, saying that he would see her head roll.

Aurora and Antonio were still shocked. Helena said she and Demon decided this together. JC said it was a good decision with a hint that interference in their marriage would create problems, which got a look of suspicion from Antonio. Aurora especially didn't get this. Helena implied that she did not know Demon very well.

Jezabel told Demon he had threatened her. She called him an ingrate. “I made this empire for you, not for your aunt who will degrade it all for that muerto de hambre.”

He replied “A lone queen is useless” as he put the chess piece on the table and knocked it down with one finger. “No, Jezabel. You will fall in your own mud. You won't drag me down with you.”

“If I had known that you would turn out just like your father, I wouldn't have bothered giving birth to you. You are not a Campero.” She turned a framed photo face down.

Her last close-up made her look ages old, like a witch of legend.
 

Angel/Aurora

Thanks Urban, another great recap. I hate that Vicki died, but i guess we expected it. Helena is still being testy with Antonio and Aurora. I guess Demon convinced her they weren’t putting her first and had betrayed her.
Demon giving the presidency back to Aurora was a surprise. Jezabel couldn’t have been any crueler to him. Maybe he will turn on her.

Angel/Aurora. Another excellent recap, Urban! It was dramatic irony that Aurora promised to be a mother to Angel, since she is his mother. Yep! Casandra is pregnant and Edgar is being a jerk. She should sue him for child support. It seems to be too much even for Demian that Jezabel had Aurora raped. Kind of a measure of the depth of her evil. Of course, if Angel leaves the area, how will he finish college? I'm anticipating that as part of this novela's ending, they'll show him accepting his diploma.

I have wondered all this time how the Karmageddons of Jezabel and Demon will work out. Is Demon capable of killing? We know Jezabel does.

I am not sure what to think of Demon's reaction to this startling revelation. It looked genuine and he does know that there is nothing normal about his youth or his mother. It would be ironic if he deals her final hand in the nasty game they're playing, but I don't know that he can ever see the light.

Jezabel said “Think about it. It does you no good to do anything to oppose me.” She looked at the chess piece as he left.

Aquiles and Glorio pushed their way past Cassandra and entered Jezabel's office, accusing her of causing Carlito's suicide. Aquiles started first, including her intent with Luis. Jezabel dismissed Cassandra, who stepped out. She tried to mock them, then accused them of entering her office. She then fired them both and called Briana in HR [This could be the luckiest day of their lives]..

Demon called Edgar who did not answer or listen to his voicemail. He looked at Cassandra's photo and said “I can't be a father. Forgive me.”

Antonio tried to get Helena to talk about why they were going to move to Las Flores. She was still determined to go with Demon. They had not had a honeymoon and Helena said there was no time for it because she wanted to get pending stuff done before the move. He was sure the issue had to do with him and Aurora. She was still peeved that she wasn't the center of attention [Girl, you're an adult now, so get over this[. Antonio told her she would soon understand. Aurora entered, asking to talk to her.

Pintas handed wads of money to Vampi and Huevo, telling them there would be more.

Helena said there was no issue with Demon and did not want to talk about Angel. She pointed out having supported her all along. Aurora told her that she only came to tell her the videogame project was canceled.

The Lunch Crowd talked about the latest disaster. The security cameras appeared to have not been working in their favor. Glorio was afraid to face his mother. Jezabel called Cassandra to her office.

Aurora said this was nothing personal; it was too expensive. Demon entered Helena's office. He agreed with the cancellation, suggesting they talk at home.

Teté looked at a lipstick delivered by the tattooed man who warned her to be careful. She looked at it and said “Just the right shade. Excellent work!”

Jezabel tried to first intimidate and interrogate, then fire Cassandra who then told her she could not because she was pregnant... by Edgar. Although Jezabel said nothing she was caught off-guard.

Helena told Tania she had been caught off-guard by Demon's recent behavior. Anita and Rolando invaded Helena's office, followed by Maggie, who seemed to have the day off. They invited her to join them for quesadillas.

Pintas' previous place of work – where he was known as Romualdo – was being searched. Angel – whose statement provoked homicide charges against Pintas – arrived and was told that Romualdo Garcia was being sought for having raped Aurora.

JC accused Antonio of using the search for Gabriel to remain in Aurora's life. Antonio replied that he had news. Aurora asked “Have you found him?”

Angel said that El Pintas was the accused. The cop would not tell Angel any more. Angel then said he would find him.

Aurora asked Antonio where he found Gabriel. Antonio told her he was close; he needed to contact the family he was with. Aurora was impatient; Antonio told her to be calm, telling her that Gabriel is alive. She hugged Antonio in front of JC, who looked jealous.

Part 2 of 3

Jezabel flashed back to Cassandra's pregnancy announcement, then she threw her out after showing her disdain for motherhood. Luis came in as Cassandra left. He was grinning, saying he was glad to work there. He kissed her and she grabbed his face saying he had better be loyal to her. He looked at her, hurt and confused.

As Aurora sat down and asked more questions Angel called Antonio to tell him about the police finding Pintas' hovel. Antonio told him to leave this to the police. He put the phone on speaker so Aurora and JC would hear the restt of this. JC knew of the aliases, so then all four knew of Juventino Macias and his aliases.

Helena went out to eat with Maggie and the kids.

Antonio told Angel to go home. Aurora was confounded at her son and her rapist turning up at the same time. JC did not think this was a coincidence. She remembered a conversation with Helena about Pintas and the Santos family. Helena thought it odd because she had a bad vibe about him. Aurora was further confused by this. Antonio left to meet Angel.

Jezabel was annoyed with Luis who was friends with Aquiles and Glorio. He asked why and she declined to tell him, saying he was a rich kid who didn't need to be bothered with clucking hens. She then said they were inventing things about her, that she has something to do with a friend of theirs. She lied, saying she didn't have anything going with employees. He mentioned Edgar. She told him not to annoy her and asked if they had come into her office. He said No, to that and to her question about the messages. After he left her office she looked at her burner phone. The screen was blank.

Luis spoke to Aquiles on the phone, telling him this happens when you don't think about the consequences. Glorio said his mother will hit him over this. As Luis got to the bench where the kids were he asked them to hold. They invited him to join them and he told Aquiles he'd meet them there.

Helena wanted to talk to Demon about the presidency, whether he argued with his mother about it. He told her he argues with her all the time, then looked at his watch. She told him she was not going to the meeting; she was going to do something with the kids. After she walked out Demon called a lawyer and said “Proceed.”

Pascual lit a candle and prayed, telling Vicki how much he missed her, asking why she had to die. There was a flashback to her deathbed and tears. He hugged the framed photo of Vicki.

Part 3 of 3

Angel was attacked by Huevo and Vampi, who were masked on the approach. He punched both, which unmasked them. They attacked him again as a hooded Pintas came, armed with a knife. Angel fought all three to end up held by Vampi and Huevo while Pintas held Angel's throat with the knife at his face, saying “You're worth it, my little angel!” Angel managed to tell him he will pay for what he did tp Rolando and ask what he did to Aurora. Pintas kicked him in the gut. The others let him fall on the sidewalk. Angel got up, the others ganged up on him. The two henchies held him as Pintas got free, still armed. Angel grabbed him from behind, but he freed himself. Pintas cried out “You came out just like your father! Great for the arms. Too bad your time has already come! He's going to load you with bones!”

JC and Aurora came down the stairs. Jezabel said they could not sell the house “Think of your nephew. Starting married life.” Aurora said he will be in Las Flores, so this blackmail will not work. Jezabel said she gave a statement then lied about Pintas. Aurora began feeling ill.

Pascual prayed to Vicki to look after their children.

Pintas threatened Angel who dared him, then head-butted him and the fight continued. :Say hello to my kid and my friend, too. I've got you, damn it. I'll cut your wings, Angel.” said Pintas. Angel freed himself, but Pintas slashed his left thigh through his jeans Pintas then stabbed but it was Vampi he got. Pintas ran off. Others came to Angel's aid. Someone took out a cell phone.

JC got Aurora to sit on the couch. Jezabel commented on her heart and Aurora was having none of her hypocrisy. Jezabel said she should reconsider her plans for the house within the family. JC looked at this viper and said that the only possibility is Gabriel.

Briana went to Edgar's place but he did not answer the door. She called Teté, saying she was looking for another way in. She ran in and Teté said she was on her way.

Pintas ran from the crime scene and got into a car with Huevo and Vampi, th latter bleeding out in the back seat. “Let's go visit the blind man. Filthy brat, snitch.” He looked rabid.

Jezabel told Demon about Aurora selling half the house... to Gabriel. Aurora said “He's my heir.” Demon assumed they were leaving out of annoyance. JC said they would go to his house. Aurora was tired of Jezabel's manpulations and her hiding things. She told Jezabel that if she discovered that she was in cahoots with Rocha she would turn her in. She told her she was incapable of being happy for anyone. Not happy for her finding her son and not happy that Demon resigned. All lies and part of another round of gaslighting. She gave a condensed version of this to Demon and walked out with JC. After they were out the door she said “Dirty bitch. You will find your son, but dead.” Demon did not care, telling her to shut up; he was tired of this. He left the room.


Night

Angel was in hospital telling the police what happened. They said they would get him.

Antonio called Aurora to report that Angel was alright and she should come to see him. Elvia was with him. When he ended the call Elvia asked him to be honst with her. “You weren't looking for Gabriel, were you? You found him.”

Aurora wanted to go to the hospital. JC objected because Angel was not Gabriel “...and I need you here.”.

Pintas – masked once again – went into the barrio and grabbed Helena by the arm, then pulled off his mask.

Thanks Urban, I enjoyed your recap. Pintas is really going crazy. I haven’t liked him in anything I’ve seen him in.
I’m glad Aurora is wising up to her sister. She’ll be shocked when she learns the whole truth.
I loved how Cassandra used her pregnancy to prevent Jezabel from firing her. Too bad the guys got fired, but what did they expect.
Edgar saying her sister can’t be a father, for give me, is a little scary. I hope he’s not a suicide, how many can happen in one show!

I'd like to see Edgar survive this maelstrom of evil and become a decent human being. Not wanting to have children due to his self-assessment is not being evil or selfish, so he has a streak of decency in him.

Briana is another story. She is a narcissist, just like her mother.

I’m looking forward to your recap. There was quite a lot of conversation that I didn’t get. But it did look like Edgar just drank too much. I’m wondering if that lipstick is poisonous. Who has to be careful with lipstick. Maybe meant for Jezabel.

Pintas grabbed Helena by the arm and unmasked himself. She cried out “It's Pintas!” He pulled out his weapon. Maggie held the kids. Helena pulled out an impressive chef knife. She and Maggie stood between him and the kids. Pintas said this all was Rolando's fault. Maggie threw a bowlful of salsa in Pintas' face at point-blank range as he cursed everyone out. Demon arrived at that moment and gave him a punch to the face. Unfortunately he got away thanks to Huevo, who drove up to the corner. Demon got Helena to give up the knife ad Pintas shouted “I will kill you!”

JC and Aurora argued about Antonio and Angel. Aurora told him she was keeping her word to Vicki. JC still accused Antonio of taking advantage of this situation. She accused JC of jealousy. He said he doubted Antonio, not her. This ended unresolved.

Aquiles and Glorio tried to persuade Luis to return the watch.

Angel talked to Antonio and Elvia about Pintas, saying he must fall.

Helena could not understand how anyone would want to kill a child. Demon could not understand her willingness to get involved. He could not take her opposition to his,,, viewpoint. He told Helena this was the second time she was in danger in the barrio. She conceded. [A gilded cage is now in sight].

Teté and Briana took care of Edgar. Teté thanked her while cursing Jezabel. Briana said he needed help but doubted he would be willing to seek therapy. She told Teté about Cassandra. Teté suspected that Edgar cared for Cassandra because in vino veritas.

Aurora prayed to the Virgen for help with her marriage and Angel's family. She asked if it was possible to love too much.

Jezabel went to JC's office to look for Aurora. He suspected her motive and stood by everything Aurora had said before they left. He told her Aurora was at the hospital to see Angel because of Pintas' attack, saying he was not seriously injured.

Luis started talking to Aquiles and Glorio about starting a business in clothing sales.

Jezabel tried to escape but JC asked her why she never admitted she knew Pintas. She claimed not to have known him. JC watched her carefully, as though he were cross-examining her in a courtroom.

Angel had been released so he went home. Aurora called him and he told her he was alright and would be at the cemetery the next day. She said she would not be able to meet him there but invited him and his to join her for dinner the next evening. He accepted. She thought about JC's accusation that she loved Angel more than her own son.

Antonio and Elvia were at the Santos home. Angel told them that Anita was at Maggie's house. Antonio advised Angel to rest. Pascual wanted to talk to Angel.

Pintas was with Huevo who showed him the news broadcast on his phone about the police looking for him. His photo appeared on the screen along with the charge and two of his aliases.

Demon brought Helena home. Carmelita showed them the news report on her phone. Jezabel came into the room and the phone was passed to her. She faked relief. Helena pulled out her phone to call Aurora but Demon and Jezabel stopped her, pretending empathy. Demon told Jezabel what he saw.

Pintas warned Huevo not to talk. He seemed to suggest blackmailing Jezabel because she knew too much and could expose Pintas.

Part 2 of 3

Aurora told JC she had gone to the church so she had not seen Angel. JC put blankets on the couch. She was upset but he said he needed space to think. They were also going to the police station in the morning.

Demon argued again with Jezabel about Pintas, but she dismissed him. She seemed unsure but he did not see that.

Helena looked at the picture of Angel on her phone. He looked at the photo of her.

Anita and Rolando slept. Anita dreamed of Vicki as an angel telling her she is always with her and will always be protected by her love. Rolando had a similar dream about his father. Mario told him to open his eyes again to see the world. Rolando did not want to but Mario persisted, telling him that the brave face their fears to get rid of them.


Morning

Angel and Pascual went to Vicki's grave and put flowers on it. Antonio met Pascual there to settle the important issue.

Angel spoke as he placed the flowers, telling Vicki how much he missed her, how he saw her everywhere, especially in Anita's face. and how empty the house felt without her.

En route to the police station Aurora and JC were swarmed by the press. She handled it well, saying such cases need to be handled for the good of all women in the country. “The investigation is ongoing anf there is an arrest warrant out for Juventino Macias.” She spoke of emotional paralysis after the crime and encouraged all women to come forward. Helena was watching nearby. JC spoke, requesting a respect for privacy until a press conference at a later date.

Aquiles and Glorio waited for a delivery that Glorio didn't want his mother to know about.

Antonio and Pascual disagreed about revealing the truth to Angel. Pascual feared losing him at the revelation. Antonio told Pascual about the attack by Pintas. Antonio told him that the truth could come to light any time and Angel had to know now. When Angel got up Antonio said it was time for the truth. Angel looked at both and asked “What truth?”

Maggie got the kids out of bed. Anita told her about her dream. Rolando still could not see.

Pascual started telling Angel, but Antonio had to help. Flashing back, Pascual explained that Vicki had a miscarriage and they had asked God and the Virgen for a miracle. He told of being handed a healthy baby boy by a very heartless man in the middle of the night. He was ordered to make the baby disappear. “The man was your grandfather. The baby was you. I am not your father. Vicki was not your mother.” He hugged Angel as he cried. “But we cared for you. Protected and fed you.”

Angel was incredulous. He asked Antonio what Pascual was saying.

“It's true, Angel. Your real mother is Aurora Campero,” said Antonio.

Angel thought back to hugging Aurora at the Santos house and other places before the eyes of Helena and JC.

Rolando told Maggie about his dream. He opened his eyes and saw her.

Angel knelt back on the grave and asked what he was to do. He could not believe this. Pascual knelt before him, telling him he was not his father and Vicki was not his mother. He reminded him on the newspaper article about his disappearance. Angel, anguished, walked away from the grave. Pascual sent Antonio after him to tell him everything else. Pascual sat down.

Helena talked with the police about the events of the previous night.

Palmiro spoke with neighbors about future safety needs.

Jezabel went to see Pintas who said that he failed because Angel had more lives than a cat. She showed her own claws, slapped him, and left.

Aurora and Helena left the police station. Aurora asked if she would accompany her to the cemetery but JC said he was not going there. Aurora asked why not and not to let them go alone. He looked at his watch.

Angel looked at the baby photo on Antonio's phone. Antonio told him it was taken hours before he had been taken away from Aurora. Angel asked “So, who is my father?” Pascual walked up to meet them. Angel hugged Pascual, saying “This is my father.”

 

Angel/Aurora. Great recap, Urban! Good one about the gilded cage! Both Helena and Maggie are very brave. How long before Aurora finds out that Angel is her son? I loved that dramatic irony with JC about Aurora treating Angel like a son--he is her son! JC seems to be doing himself in with Aurora. He should be more trusting. I hope they catch El Pintas! Or will Jezabel or someone else do him in first? At any rate, his days seem numbered. El Morro's ghost is very wise.

Thanks Urban, you filled in many gaps! I can’t imagine why a crazed Pintas feels it’s all Rolando’s fault. I think Jezabel will get rid of Pintas. They both know too much, but Jezabel is a planner. Pintas just seems crazy most of the time. I can’t imagine Patricia as a killer but it seems that was the plan.
I thought JC would have to die for Antonio and Aurora to get together, but since his marriage he’s become so jealous and unreasonable that I can’t picture the marriage ending. I felt so sorry for Angel when he was learning the truth. I hope Antonio gets a DNA test, I don’t want Angel to ever think Pintas is his father..
Yes, the gilded cage was an accurate description. I hope Helena realizes this soon. I wonder if Demon is even capable of love. I thought the original plan was marrying Helena for her money. Much needed since Jezabel seems to give stacks of it away!!

Since Jezabel is the lead villain, she will be the last to fall. She and Demon have been at each other's throats almost from the beginning, but I can't recall any past novela which ended with a son killing his mother.

One of them will kill Pintas, either directly or by proxy.
