Papas # 31 part 1

Valerio has no idea where Circe is. He took a cab on the street and lost her, but has his phone. Tino is choking him.

Melina is cleaning up the blood from the thing she hit him with. She gets his phone and sees the message from Rudolf. Meanwhile Rudolf calls Nazario wondering where he is. Nazario is rattled but tells him something about meeting a client.

Tino checks Valerio’s phone and calls a taxi Valerio apparently did call. Valerio was alone in the taxi, no girl with him. Circe wakes up in the bathroom of the club. Checo is taking pictures and his boss is on him about something. He sees Circe come from the bathroom. A large guy tells him he can’t leave but Checo says this is his friend and he’s taking her to the hospital. He calls Tino on Circe’s phone. Valerio wants to know what he’s doing with his wife. Checo tells Tino Circe is coming around and he’ll stay there to they arrive.

Gisela and Hernon are in bed and quite pleased with themselves. Her on wants to tell Tino and Aide about their romance , Gisela says no hurry. Her on brings up the crytocurrency, they may have to have a long distance romance. Gisela doesn’t respond to that, she just suggests they do it again. Under the covers they go.

Rudolf has gone back to Maximax. The stick(murder weapon)was in the doorway. He picks it up as he sees Gibron on the floor and runs over. Melina comes in screaming he murdered him. She’s going to call the police. The police a there, he tells his side, but Melina is more convincing and Ruldof is now the prime suspect and is taken away.

Nazario is talking about something. Prisma offers to help. He says he has the best wife as Clara Luz makes a face. She gets a call from Melina, who tells her her version and says Rudolf is a killer. Clara Luz is yelling it can’t be.

Valerio is ready to attack Checo at the hospital. Tino grabs him and wants to know what he gave him, he seemed to deny giving her anything. Aide tells Checo,he’s their angel. A doctor comes in, Circe was poised, the next hour is critical. Bill has the kids and is trying to reassure them that all is well.

Hernan and Gisela return home to police at the house. Melina tells them Rudolf killed Gibron. She’s really upset, she’s never seen a dead body before.

Uli asks about the mixup on Aide’s date night. Bill doesn’t know what happened. Uli gets a message from Tino to take the kids home, Bill will drive them home. At home they find out Gibron was killed.

At the hospital Checo is telling them drugs are put in drinks, Circe wasn’t aware of it. He tells them Valerio uses them, I’m not sure if he told them Valerio was drugging her, but I think he knows he was. Circe is out of intensive care. Aide has a bunch of missed calls from Melina but Uli calls to tell them Gibron is dead at Maximax.

Clara Luz is at the police station with Nazario(combing that mustache). She said Rudolf couldn’t have done it. She wants to see him. The police officer says Rudolf may remain in prison. Her lawyer comes and she decides the lawyer should go in.

Tino goes back to the house. A detective comes to talk to them. Tino tells
Bill he should leave, Bill says if he son lives here this has to do with him too. He’ll be back,tomorrow.

Papas #31 part 2

Circe wakes up wondering what happened, she doesn’t remember anything. Aide tells her she was drugged and it had to be someone very close to her. She goes from denying it was Valerio to remembering different things and decides her parents were right, marrying him was the worse mistake of her life

Serena tells the kids to get ready for school. Their brother and father already left for work. Chacito announces he’s not going to go to school.

Clara Luz thanks Nazario for remaining at the jail with her. She tells him he can go help Prisma with the kids.

Chachito is still saying he’s not going to school. Serena tells him to quit acting like that and get ready. Chofis gets mad as at Serena, she feels she has no business getting on her brother. Serena says she will correct him as needed.

Circe is realizing that she doesn’t love Valerio, he treated her good at first and they were playing house. Then she wanted it to work. But she knows the love of her parents and grandmother, and she doesn’t feel love for Valerio. Tino and Uli come into the hospital room. Tino tells her Checo is the one to thank for bringing her there. Meanwhile Checo is at the cafe with his laptop talking on the phone about the girls being drugged at the club.

The guy that works there will take the kids to school. Bill offers to but the guy says it’s his job.. Gisela asks if Bill would like a cup of coffee, he would.

Uli and Rino come in to the hospital. Tino and Aide want Uli to stay with his sister. Valerio comes in wanting to talk to his wife. They tell him Circe was given dangerous drugs. Valerio denies knowing anything. Uli will wait outside so Circe and Valerio can talk.

Serena is there for Gisela’s PT but Gisela is cancelling because she has to take care of Alexander. Serena offers to help and takes him out of the room as Hernan comes in. He tells Gisela he’ll probably to take his business to Tiajuana and Gisela accuses him of fleeing. He says he’s fleeing from love. He has nothing to offer her and wants to make money to give her everything she’s accustomed too. She finally falls in his trap, she’ll join the business as the major partner.

Prisma doesn’t want to work at Maximax after what happened. It seems that Nazario agrees with her. It sounds like he’ll leave too.

Clara Luz sees Rudolf. He says he didn’t do it and she believes him. After a few te amo’s he tells her he doesn’t want the twins to know where he is, but what to tell them. Then a detective arrives to tell them he’s being transferred.

Valerio tells Circe he was drugged too. Then she asks him if he drugged her, yes or no. He says he drugged her to save their marriage. She says one thing can save them, if he gets therepy. But then she tells him she’s divorcing him.

Herman tells Melina about Gisela investing as long as she’s the major partner..Melina thinks she was won over because of Herman’s courting her somewhere the night before.

Aide and Tino are discussing Rudolf, and how he would be incapable of this. Prisma and Nazario arrive. Then a detective. No one can enter the scene of the crime. Rudolf is being transferred. They tell the detective Rudolf would be incapable of murder. They also wonder how they can conduct their business.

Thank you for the terrific recap Liz! You cleared up much I missed.

Checo is the hero of the day rescuing Circe! And not a moment too soon. Valerio is lucky Tino didn't throw him into a wall; he was (justifiably) angry enough to, wasn't he?? I hope Circe moves to divorce him immediately.

Things look really bleak for Rudolf. Melina has it all figured out doesn't she? She must want to get rid of everyone Tino trusts, step one = Rudolf with likely Clara Luz next and of course, Aide! She'll likely blackmail Nazario...

What a shame Gisela fell for Hernan's lies. Well, she only has herself to blame.

I liked Bill standing up for himself despite another instance of Tino trying to get him to leave. He's right of course, if Emi is involved, then he is as well. Kudos to Serena as well for not letting Chofis try and put limitations on her. She doesn't have to be Chuchito's mother to do what he needs to. She isn't trying to usurp their mother's place, but she is the adult in the room and in charge.

What a mess things are; sadly, I don't think we are anywhere near rock bottom.

MONTEVERDE #21, Part 1

We begin with Rosalia telling Lucas she will not forgive him for betraying her trust. She is done…he calls out after her, but she is gone.

Carolina and Andres are on the bus as she recalls her and Oscar’s fervent kisses.

Nestor and Eva are having coffee; one look at him makes it obvious he is still smitten. They discuss Oscar; she admits guilt for leaving her son. She is clearly uncomfortable and grabs her bag while maneuvering away so Nestor’s kiss misses.

A heartbroken Rosalia comes home and tells Lucia what happened.

Sister Celeste comes down for coffee which she nearly chokes on. She needs sugar and needs to be reminded where it is. She spoons in half a dozen heaping teaspoons as the women stare mouths agape. Not an auspicious beginning for a seamless transition for the sisters.

Lucas tells Franco that Rosalia broke up with him; he does not have kind words for Nestor.

Angelina has a special treat for Juan David. Where is your mother he asks sheepishly. She isn’t here. All of a sudden there is a knock on the door. A woman with a drill arrives; then Gloria shows up with a woman called Alana. She hands him a paper, I’m a little lost here.

“Buenos Dias” Rosalia greets an angry Nestor. He is furious she told Lucas. She apologizes for spilling the secret but nothing mollifies him. “Lucas is a good friend of Franco” he roars. She broke his trust. She sits down, tears welling as he stalks out.

Lucia, one of her famous cakes (and Franco) show up at Manuel’s. Eva walks in and Franco’s smile fades. She greets her son but he is cold as ice and does not really respond. Lucia introduces herself. Eva orders coffee and Lucia joins her.

Rosalia has her head in her hands when Lucas arrives. He asks her forgiveness. She says it’s not that easy. She blames his stupid comments for ruining the evening. He starts in but she reminds him Nestor is her father. She sits as he leaves, nothing resolved.

Eva and Lucia are getting along well. “You are novios” Eva asks smiling; the response is affirmative. Lucia freely admits she loves Franco very much. Lucia seems to encourage her and kisses her on the cheek before leaving. Eva looks thoughtful.

Gloria obviously has plans for the house. Juan David is upset and Anglelina isn’t able to calm him down.

MONTEVERDE #21, Part 2

Father Gabriel brings Celeste to the school. Oscar comes out and she asks the good padre who he is!! He tells her as Oscar stares; a huge smile plastered on his face. After the father leaves Oscar tells a stone-faced Celeste he reminisces about the day before and says he dreamt about her; he leans in and kisses her and she slaps him. Hard! He rubs his cheek and looks shocked.

Nestor reams Lucas out but Lucas holds firm, clearly contemptuous of Nestor.

Oscar asks Celeste what is wrong; he reminds her of what they shared had and she says “shhh”. She makes a face and leaves. He looks blindsided, rubbing his cheek.

Meanwhile, Carolina and Andres arrive at Convent Chiapa de Corso. It seems Andres cannot stay in the convent; no men are allowed. Carolina argues but it’s the nun’s way or the highway. Andre is obviously very unhappy.

Juan David complains about Gloria to Manuel. Doris comes in and Hugo guides her to a seat. She is concerned about the missing bus.

Carolina tells Andres how brave he is as the sister leads him away. Carolina wheels her suitcase, seemingly resigned to her joyless fate behind the iron gates.

“Are you busy” Rosalia asks Nestor, as she quietly enters his house. It wasn’t her intention to cause any trouble she explains quietly and sadly. She came to Monteverde to find her father. She gently places a book of photos on his desk. He doesn’t look at her but he is listening. She pushes them toward him but he keeps on writing. She says con permiso and leaves. He opens the book the second she leaves, thumbs through a few pages then stops and stares into space.

A fuming Sister Celeste is still livid with what happened with Oscar.

Carolina is shown to a tiny windowless cell.

Andres shows up at class… (it appears to be all boys) and walks sadly to his seat.

Lucia isn’t happy with her cake artwork. Franco gets her laughing anyway.

MONTEVERDE #21, Part 3

A still steamed Lucas beyotches to Hugo; Hugo is a gem always dispensing good advice, in this case he suggests flowers for Rosalia! Lucas finally smiles as they fist bump.

Father Gabriel drives Sister Celeste to the gate where Carolina always went to get cell service. Celeste isn’t quite as spry as Carolina but manages to climb over the gate without the good padre’s assistance. She reams Carolina (in a T shirt out in the convent courtyard with a broom) out about Oscar giving her a beso!! Carolina sort of smiles at the remembrance; Celeste is like a dog with a bone and won’t let it go “Por Dios” she hisses. There are consequences for your actions!

Poor Oscar is holding an ice bag to his cheek as Moises asks what happened. I think Oscar says a door hit him! More like a brick wall I laugh.

Celeste manages to get back over the gate…All of a sudden Moises bursts through the gate and hugs Celeste who of course has no idea who he is. Oscar comes up and Celeste is steely eyed.

Lucas has a plan to have Rosalia forgive him; he enlists Lucia and Franco’s help.

Celeste arrives as the women are gathering to eat. Celeste wants to start with a prayer as the women look at other as they cross themselves.

“Surprise” Gloria says as Juan David and Angelina arrive home. She has prepared a meal as Juan David looks apprehensive but Angelina smiles. She serves Juan David.

Rosalia is primping to go to Manuel’s restaurant.

Lucia asks where Rosalia is going. To Manuel’s she is told. Oh no, Lucia says hurrying out.

Nestor is looking through the photo album and smiles (begrudgingly) at some of the pictures.

A sister is ensuring all the boys are tucked in their bunk beds. Andres lays on his cot crying quietly and Carolina sits up in bed, unable to sleep; she misses her son.

Angelina urges Juan David to have patience, hopefully Gloria will soon be with Manuel.

Oscar and Lucas show up at Manuel’s. Hugo is making sammies and gives Lucas a bottle of wine. Uh oh…Rosalia arrives but sits down at a table with a man!

Carlos meets with the detective. I believe he is told they are at the convent (?)

MONTEVERDE Extras parte 1

Thank you, Diana.

Néstor tells Eva that at first he felt bad for what he did to Oscar but as time went on, he felt less so. He acknowledges that what they did wasn't right but what they had was so beyond . . she cuts him off reminding him she only came back for her son. If she had never fallen in love with him, she never would have lost her son. Their relationship was a mistake. Néstor disagrees.

Franco tells Lucas that Néstor isn't a bad guy. He may have his ways and believes that he is God's gift to single women. Lucas thinks he is a selfish guy who only thinks about himself. Franco shakes his head and tells Lucas that an apology won't be enough. He will also have to change his feelings about Néstor.

Gloria has hired a woman to put an outlet in her room for a television. Next, she brings in Alana, an interior designer, to make improvements. Juan David is not successful telling her no.

Néstor's parting comment to Rosalía (aka the blabbermouth/sorry but I couldn't resist) : What a daughter I ended up with!

Eva suggests that Lucía put a colorful label on top of her cake boxes with her contact information so her customers can contact her directly. Lucía likes the idea.

Lucía tells Eva that she and Franco have been novios for ONE day. Eva would love to get to know her son. Lucía tells her how hurt he is deep down but that he always wanted to know about her. Eva asks Lucía if she could help her out with her son. Lucía tells her that she doesn't want to get involved and end up having problems with Franco. That being said she was happy to meet Eva.

Juan David tells his wife that he is angry because he had to pay the interior designer with the money that he had put aside to pay the loan. No, he doesn't want Angelina to help him pay the bills. He needs to get some fresh air.

Before he kisses Celeste, Oscar tells her that he has a problem because he wants more . . . a lot more.

Néstor asks Lucas not to spread around what Rosalía told him. If he does, it is going to cause a real mess. Lucas says that Néstor is the one who started it when he got involved with his best friend's wife. Néstor tells him that for everyone's good, not to tell Franco. Lucas says he isn't planning on telling anyone but he is doing it for Rosalía.

The nun tells Carolina that her son staying at the boarding school will be a good way for them to work on "detachment." Carolina says that neither she or her son is interested in working on that.

Juan David tells Manuel that if Gloria isn't out of his house soon, he will not have a peso left. He explains about having to pay the interior decorator with the money he had saved for the loan payment. Juan David informs Manuel that he might end up having to pay the loan if Gloria keeps on spending his money since he cosigned the loan. Manuel assures him that he will come up with something to get Gloria out.

Doris has found out from the police that her bus never left Monteverde. No bus like hers ever passed through the toll station. Somebody has to have it hidden in Monteverde.

Celeste tells the good father that she has to talk with Carolina. Oscar kissed her! She wants Carolina to explain that.
 

MONTEVERDE Extras parte 2

Carolina says that her room is cold. Sister Brigida ells her all of the rooms are cold. She hopes she brought her flannel pajamas. She also tells Carolina to change her clothes because she will be doing cleaning, while she is staying there, among other things.

Andrés is given "The Life of a Saint" to read in class.

Franco looks at Lucía's designs for labels for her products. He tells her she is the best pastry chef but she didn't end up with much talent for design. He doesn't know anyone to help but suggests ask the women at the inn.

Hugo tells Lucas that like it or not, Néstor is Rosalía's father and, of course, she wants to be close to him. If Lucas is opposed to that, he will be the one who will lose out. He also tells him that a simple apology won't do it. Lucas is deeply in love with her like nobody before. Hugo tells him to show her with flowers, an invitation to supper . . . he could write her something lovely. . .make her feel like she is something special. Lucas is appreciative of his help.

When Celeste calls Carolina, she tells her about the kiss but she wants to make sure that Carolina didn't sleep with Oscar. Celeste says if he tries to kiss her again, she will accuse him of harassing and committing offenses against a religious. She blames it all on Carolina.

Lucía agrees to help Lucas out by delivering Rosalía to Manuel's reataurant. .

Moisés thinks that it seems more like somebody hit Oscar and not a door. He thinks it could have been Franco's mother. If Oscar doesn't like her, Moisés is sure that she dislikes him even more. Moisés refuses to buy the door theory.

Celeste tells Carolina not to complain about Sister Brígida. That convent was the only place she could find that would take her in.

It turns out that Rosalía is going out for a beer with Iñaki at Manuel's restaurant. She is no longer going out with Lucas. They didn't understand each other so it was better to turn the page! Iñaki is one of Oscar's worker's sons. She likes him.

Moisés tells his father that the nun is suddenly strange as if she were bewitched. Oscar says that is pure superstition.

Lucía finds out that Rosalía is going to meet Iñaki.

The detective tells Carlos that the nun must have decided to go to CiudadJuárez to get him off their track but he has had a man in Zacatillo. He spotted his wife and son on a bus headed towards Tuxtla, Gutierrez, Chiapas. He has them located . . .
 

MONTEVERDE

The kids: Moisés was at his best last night. Loved his bewitched theory. Poor Andrés!

The time has come for the newlyweds to send Gloria packing. Bad enough she is a thorn in the side of their newly married life but now is spending Juan David’s money? I am actually happy that Manuel has a price to pay if he doesn’t move Gloria out.

Great clue: the bus never passed the toll station.

Loved the comment about the flannel pajamas.

Can’t wait for tonight!

Jarifa, thank you for your razor sharp insight and for translating so many important, savory details. I laughed out loud at "(Rosalía (aka the blabbermouth/sorry but I couldn't resist) :)"

"Hugo tells him to show her with flowers, an invitation to supper . . . he could write her something lovely. . .make her feel like she is something special". The smartest tool in the shed and handsome to boot.

"Before he kisses Celeste, Oscar tells her that he has a problem because he wants more . . . a lot more". Oh my. No wonder Celeste is so fired up!

Lucia needs someone artistic. Hmmm, I sense her desire not to get involved with Eva might be taking a turn.

Rosalia moved on and did so quickly. Iñaki is quite handsome...

I don't know how Manuel is going to reign Gloria in. She's sly, manipulative and too much. Unfortunately, she is also highly entertaining!

So Carlos knows where Carolina is. I am afraid for her.

Diana, I wrote a whole paragraph and I hit something somewhere on my IPad and it all disappeared. Oh, well! 🤣😂🤣 This is a shortened form.

Anyway, I was surprised that Carolina made it to the convent. I had expected her to level with Oscar and hole up with him at the ranch as Celeste continued in her job as teacher. Does the detective have a general idea of where Carolina is or knows exactly where she is? That was a good cliffhanger!

You just might be right that Lucía will become more involved with Eva. IIRC, Eva mentioned doing some painting when she married to Oscar out in the middle of nowhere on that ranch.

Manuel now has a $$ incentive to get Gloria out of Juan David’s home. Maybe that will help? Gloria is a hoot anytime she appears.

Hopefully, Rosalía learns a lesson from her “blabbermouth” experience. Her blaming Lucas for the situation was so self-serving.

Jarifa, I really liked your scenario that Carolina should have stayed with Oscar while Celeste continued to teach. In thinking about it, as Carolina and Andres' current situation doesn't seem to be working out, I wonder if they may sneak back to Oscar's??

I don't know if Carolina's exact location has been pinpointed or if they just know the general area? That is certainly contributing to the suspense!!

Rosalia doesn't seem like the type to play games. I don't see her trying to make Lucas jealous (although she did a darn good job didn't she!). She likely made her decision and Inaki seemed like a good place to move on.

I can't wait to see what Manuel has up his sleeve!!

Watched the first episode and loved it...so many familiar faces we know from past novelas. Beautiful scenery and a gorgeous house ( I think it is the one from " Monte Cristo). Lovely clothes . Scarlet Gruber is wicked wicked with her smirks and pouts. Character names are changed from " Soy tu duena." I tried to find the recap from that show and saw comments from people ..some still here and some , like Dr. Carlos , gone. Susan
 

Domenica Montero Episode 1:

Hi- Princess Juju here with the recap for the first episode of Domenica Montero, it will be a short recap but hopefully enough to get us going.
We meet Domenica at the orphanage that she runs, she has a sweet nature and cares deeply for all the children that live there, while at the orphanage she meets "Max Langer"- and they proceed to trauma dump on each other, she tells him she lost her parents at the age of seven, he tells her he grew up in an orphanage in Costa Rica, he's at the orphanage giving out dinosaur toys because he remembers how much it meant to him to receive even small gifts as a child. Max has also made a substantial donation to the orphanage, and now they can afford a computer lab for the kids. Yay! But wait, Dominica is a multi-millionaire, surely she could have afforded the computer lab on her own? Make it make sense. Max seems great right? Well friends, Max is a fraud.

 

Domenica Montero Part 2:

Friends, here's the thing, Domenica has grown up with her maternal aunt Pilar and her cousin Kiara, Domenica sees Pilar as a mother and Kiara as her sister, Kiara however is deeply jealous of Domenica because she has "everything" and she sees her mother and herself as freeloaders who have never really been accepted by the wealthy people that surround them. It's important to point out that Domenica's money comes from her father, it seems like her late mother and Pilar had more humble beginnings.
 

Domenica Part 3:
Kiara is so deeply resentful of Domenica that she comes up with a plan to take her money, she and "Max"- not his real name set up Domenica, they orchestrated the initial meeting at the orphanage and then a second meeting where Max saved her from falling of her horse. Kiara fed Max all the information he would need to successfully court Domenica, she set up his social media accounts to make it seem like he was a legit business owner with plenty of his own money. It worked. Domenica and Max start to date and eventually get engaged. Max does own a restaurant, which he opened with money he scammed from two women, one them is not letting the issue go and his friend warns him that he could go to prison if he's caught, Max is not worried, first off he lives in Puebla and the woman he scammed lives in Mexico City, secondly, he used his real name to scam her- not his alias of 'Max Langer"- this dummy actually used his real name to scam. He also tells his friend that once he marries Domenica he will use her money to pay off his victim.

Kiara and Max have a small tiny problem: Domenica's most trusted advisor, who was best friends with her father and who has helped run the business alongside Domenica tells her that given her wealth she should get a prenup, she agrees that this is a good idea and gives him the go-ahead to draft the document, Kiara overhears to runs to Max with the information. Dude, why did these two never consider the fact that someone with so much money on the line would want to protect their assets?

Max has an even bigger issue. It seems like Kiara actually loves him? And she's starting to suspect that Max might actually have feelings for Domenica which just can't happen because Kiara believes that he belongs to her. They still plan on defrauding Domenica of her money but also Kiara has stolen money from her mother, the money came from the sale of an apartment that they go from Kiara's dad, Pilar wants to use the money to start a small cafeteria and I'm like WTH? This woman has lived for 30 years surrounded very wealthy and influential people and her best plan is to open a cafeteria with her daughter that wants nothing to do with it? Kiara tells Max that she has 6 million pesos in the bank and that once they take Domenica's money they can leave Mexico and go live a life of luxury. Ah yes, trust a known scammer with your future and see what happens. At the end of the episode Max shows up at Domenica's house to tell her he can't marry her.
 

Domenica Part 4:

We meet Luis Fernando and his wife Paula who have returned to Mexico after spending time in the US where Paula was getting treatment for cancer, the treatment left them in a difficult financial situation but Luis Fernando tells Paula not to worry about the money.

They meet up with Mercedes, who is Luis Fernando's mom and who was one of the women who Max stole from! They tell her that now that Paula is in remission they are going to start their family, before her treatment Luis Fernando suggested they freeze her eggs and now that she's better they will use her sister as a surrogate. The months go by and the pregnancy is going well- however Luis Fernando and Paula get devastating news: the cancer is back and it's terminal. Paula makes Luis Fernando promise that he won't spend the rest of his life alone and that once she's gone he will find a good woman to settle down with, Luis Fernando promises that he will only remarry if he finds someone as special as she is.

Papas #32 part 1

Melina shows Herman a girl she invented on social media. For now “Cindy” will be following all the kids. We see Melina making comments on the kids social medias. She’s enjoying herself as she thinks about manipulating the kids.

A replay of the detective telling everyone Rudolf is the prime suspect and they can not use their offices as it’s a crime scene.

Valerio is blaming Circe for everything. He says his dad was right to be against the marriage. Uli comes in and mentions going home, but not Valerio. Although he can get his clothes.

Clara Luz and the lawyer are talking. Clara Luz can’t believe how fast everything is moving, she knows Rudolf wouldn’t be capable of killing Gibron. The lawyer says the evidence says differently..Clara Luz remembers Gibron wanted to talk to them about something important. She always mentions Rudolf was jealous of Gibron.

Everyone is talking about the crisis at Maximax. Gisela says they don’t have to worry about her loan to the,. Nazario seems to offer to do Rudolf’s job, he also implies he thinks he’s guilty. Tino doesn’t want to hear that. He asks
Clara Luz about him seeing Rudolf but she’s not sure about when.

Gisela is worried that when the police question them they’ll find out they weren’t home and their secret romance will be known. Herman wants to talk about the crypto stuff, and asks he he loaned Tino all her money, she says she has other investments and also,shows him her jewelry..

Circe tells Gisela she’s getting a divorce. Gisela wonders wat and Hernan thinks she just needs time and space.

Bill is telling Paulina about the events at the house. They agree this will affect Emi. Paulina thinks Emi should live with them. Bill sees a look on Paulina that he knows, what is she thinking. She gets up and calls her detective.

Clara Luz talks to,Aide about her distrust of Melina. Aide says Tino considers her a good friend. Clara,Luz is sorry she and Rudolf feel distrust of Melina. Aide says they’ll do everything they can to help prove Rudolf’s innocence Serena brings Alexander to Aide, she has to go. Gisela comes out to tell Aide that Circe is getting a divorce. She realizes Aide already knows.

Melina is busy on social media. She’s meeting Nazario and isn’t happy that he’s late. She tells him he needs to pay with interest for her keeping him out of jail. She’ll tell him exactly what to say.

Gisela feels Aide is at fault for the divorce..if she’d had a better relationship with Circe, Circe would have gone to her for advice instead of her grandmother. Aide feels Gisela should have given more thought to the future Circe would have. Meanwhile Tino is comforting Circe. She tells him she wants to divorce Valerio. Aide comes in and says they will help her. They both want her to denounce him because what he did was criminal. She doesn’t want to. They tell her to think about it. Tino gives her a talk about social media not being a great place to meet someone. She deserves someone who will truly love her.

Cheno and Serena are talking about Maximax and wanting to help
Clara Luz and Rudolf. Chofis comes in to say she’s going out to eat with friends When Serena is alone with Poncho he says it’s not easy living here. He leaves and she records in her phone the problems of stepparents and the titles they carry.

Bill comes in. Gisela tells him what a gentleman he is. Scarlet is worried that El Chacal is back. Her grandmother takes her out, and Uli goes to do homework..Bill says he feels Emi would be better in his apartment. Tino feels the family needs to be together. Emi gets mad because no one asks what he wants. He leaves and Aide says he’s right.

An excellent recap, thank you so much. I did watch and Angelique is always superb. What a gorgeous setting. I agree with Susan that this bears little resemblance to Soy Tu Duena (at least what I remember). If I weren't already watching Papas and Monteverde I would definitely watch this. If only there were more hours in the day!

Papas #31 part 2

Circe tells the family she’s getting a divorce. Scarlet wonders if she live here. Tino says she made the right decision.

Valerio is losing his job because of drugging his wife. And others have been drugged.

Serena is going to make dinner. Chofis will make her own. She’s not going out because she needs to be there for Chacito. Serena says she’ll be there and they begin to argue over this.

Uli and Aide are talking. Uli thinks Emi is the strongest of the kids. He says Bill is real nice but doesn’t know how he got the message on the date night, it was from Aide’s computer. Uli suddenly remembers Melina on the computer.

Tino and Emi are talking. Emi feels that since Íker came Emi is not as important to Tino. Uli comes in talking about a game. Tino decides he will go with his two boys.

Prisma is comforting Clara Luz but gets up to check on the twins. Nazario moves in, talking about when Eudolf was so drunk and how jealousy can make someone do things. Through all this Clara Luz is saying Rudolf would be incapable of hurting anyone. Rosario calls and Clara Luz hopes it’s good news.

Tino and Aide are talking when Melina announces dinner. A drunk
Valerio enters wanting his wife. Circe yells and then Gisela yells, but nothing stops him until his dad appears. They should lock their doors.

Chofis wants Chachito to take a bath. When he yells at her Serena comes in and tells him to respect his sister and do what she says. Chofis thanks her but then says she’s been his mother since their mother died and she doesn’t want someone else to be his mother because she’s afraid he’ll forget his mother.

Valerio’s father says he’s had trouble with drugs before and has been in rehab several times. His lawyers will do a quick divorce and if she wants to denounce Valerio she can. He makes Valerio ask their pardon, several times, until he gets it right. He also asks their pardon and they leave. Valerio sobered up quickly!

Maximax will continue to function. Bill and another client can meet with them. Gisela doesn’t think anyone will want to do business with the police there. Tino points out it will be temporary. Tino mentions something Íker is doing at school, Melina didn’t know about it. Gisela makes some comment about mom’s not knowing what there kids are doing. When they leave, Hernan leaving with Gisela, Tino mentions visiting Rudolf. He can only have one visitor at a time.

Clara Luz tells Rudolf she knows about him being drunk and trying to fight Gibron. He wonders if he’s doubting him. She tells him Gibron didn’t sent the flowers and he’s guy.

Melina is on social media when Aide comes in and says she’s has till the weekend to find a place for her and Íker to stay.

Rudolf is surprised Gibron was gay. Clara Luz says he’s never came out of the closet because of his dad. She then mentions Gibron wanted to talk to them about something important. Rudolf knows that, he also says it was something about Nazario.

Prisma says Pipe is wondering where his dad is. Nazario tells her to finish his work, he’s going to water the bird? She sits at the computer and sees the order for flowers from Gibron to Clara Luz, and the message for the note.

Melina says all she’s done is help them why does Aide want her to leave. Aide says she no no confidence in her. She knows she sent the note to Bill and mentions a couple of other things. Melina is not happy.

Tino is wheeling Emi and they are talking. Then Emi tells him he’s going to live with Bill for a few days, not only because of what happened but to get to know his biological father better.

Herman is talking about the crypto stuff and Gisela says she’s not investing anything right now. The guy that works there wonders what’s going on and Gisela tells him nothing, which pleases him.

Serena is talking a mile a minute to Chofis. She tells her where everybody is and then I think she asks if she wants to come with her. Chofis has schoolwork. But then a girl is at the gate and needs Chofis’ help.

Liz, your recap was sharp and insightful; I really enjoyed it. Thank you.

Right now, the two characters I'm really feeling for are Iker and Emi. "Bill says he feels Emi would be better in his apartment. Tino feels the family needs to be together. Emi gets mad because no one asks what he wants" which is so true! He is clearly hurt that Iker has become so important to Tino although in his heart, he understands.

Aide wisely realizes at least some of what Melina is up to. But, then "Tino tells Aide he’s not losing another son, Melina and Íker are staying here". I hated Melina's smirk knowing Iker is her "ace" to keep her safe and near Tino. Poor Iker. I have thought all along he isn't Tino's biological son and feel ill that he could possibly be Melina's bio son, especially as she doesn't seem to have a kind or caring bone in her body.

So is Hernan going to take the jewelry? Gisela seems to have come to her senses but is it too late?

MONTEVERDE #22, Part 1

The detective tells Carlos he has an “associate” in Zacatilo; he shows Carlos a picture of Carolina and Andres (wearing her striped sweater) leaving no doubt he was not only hot on their trail, but he has tracked them down.

Lucia and Franco talk to an upset Lucas, trying to calm him down. He is furious and stalks off; he’s had enough.

Celeste is having coffee and snaps at one of the other residents. I imagine that soon, everyone will be wondering if the dear sister a) had a personality transplant and/or b) was abducted by aliens and replaced by another!

Lucia tells Rosalie how hurt Lucas is. It is crystal clear Rosalia values her relationship with her father with Lucas running a distant second.

Carolina joins the nuns for breakfast. The boys file in and she goes to hug Andres murmuring “mi amor”. She asks how he is and Andres answers “it’s horrible”. Needless to say he wants to leave and go back to Monteverde. She tells him she can’t be sent to jail. Sister Bridget scolds Carolina who meekly sits down. She and Andres stare at each other across the room.

Sister Celeste chastises Moises (and Oscar) for being late. Moises senses something is up and when he goes to hug her she softens a bit.

Lucas confronts Inaki, calling Rosalia his novia. Inaki takes exception and Lucas hits him! Nestor comes along to break it up but when Lucas mentions Rosalia, the protective papa instinct kicks in and Nestor proceeds to pummel Inaki!

Moises admires Eva’s work and they get acquainted. She asks about his mother and he answers truthfully he doesn’t know. He then talks about his father Oscar. Stern Sister Celeste comes and takes him away.

Nestor barges into Rosalia’s office like a thunder cloud! He says it’s your fault, referencing Inaki and Lucas. I think he told her he liked the pictures she gave him.

MONTEVERDE #22, Part 2

Angelina is doing laundry and we immediately see all of Juan David’s sweaters have been shrunk to child size! Angelina apologizes but Juan David is not mollified; he has reached his boiling point and says he is leaving; Gloria has just gotten to be too much. Angelina dissolves in tears.

Oscar pulls up to get Moises as Celeste frostily hands him Moises’ huge backpack. Oscar asks about the exam but I’m not sure what she says.

Father Gabriel and Sister Celeste talk about…what else…Carolina and Oscar. She sits ramrod straight and scowls sourly.

Eva shows Lucia some of her drawings. They are incredible Lucia enthuses. Lucia confides her dilemma about needing a logo for her cakes and Eva is delighted to assist.

Father Gabriel is shocked to find Juan David at his table having coffee. Juan David tells the good padre he just could not take Gloria’s interference any longer. As long as his suegra is there, he won’t be! Back home, a teary Angelina talks with Gloria. Gloria seems unconcerned and unsympathetic.

Andres goes to see Carolina who is cleaning. Carolina explains one of their problems is that she doesn’t have any money. All of a sudden a wicked witch flies in and takes Andres away. He looks over his shoulder at Carolina.

“Hola Lucia” Franco smiles greeting Lucia warmly. Hello mi amor she retorts. She shows him the artwork which he approves of until she tells him his mother did it. He is angry and she apologizes; it wasn’t her intention to upset him. He is agitated and she leaves.

Sister Celeste is in prayer when Oscar walks in. She gets up and he tells her that her recent persona is like she is a different person (BINGO I yell!) He tells her he loves her with all of his heart. She coldly tells him she does not love him and tells him to back off. She gets formal and calls him “senor” although I can’t interpret most of what their conversation was. He does mention their kisses and she mentions her vocation. He shakes his head, angry, confused and hurt as she kneels down to resume praying.

Lucas asks Franco what’s wrong. He tells her about Eva and the logo. I think Lucas tries to tell him that her leaving was years ago but she is alive and has returned. Franco seems to take it all in.

Celeste joins Juan David and Father Gabriel for coffee. He tells her about his unbearable suegra. I think the good padre suggests he stay at the house with the women; Celeste seems to agree.

A man asks Hugo for American coffee. He says something that makes one of the patrons leave. I think it might have been about the missing bus?!

MONTEVERDE #22, Part 3

Juan David and Father Gabriel arrive as Celeste is talking with the women who seem to be in an uproar. Juan David mumbles about Gloria as everyone stares sympathetically. At their (and Gloria’s) home, Angelina hugs one of his mini sweaters and lies on the bed.

Hugo tells Doris he may know where the bus is!

A bewildered Oscar confides in Nestor about Carolina.

Franco goes to see Lucia and she greets him kindly. He asks her to forgive him; she sweetly kisses him and says she understands his feelings.

The search party, ready to track down the missing bus but not to encounter Froilán, is equipped with brooms, a stick and cutting board as they make their way to a garage/storage space with a locked door. They open it but it is empty.

Carolina is awoken by Andres; she makes him laugh as he takes off his jacket and climbs into bed with his mother. She puts her arm around him and holds him close.

There are tire tracks in the garage indicating the bus could very well could have been there!

Juan David is helming the kitchen and has prepared breakfast for the women. Cranky Celeste sits at the head of the table. Angelina comes in and asks what Juan David is doing there! They end up arguing about Gloria in front of everyone. Celeste suggests they leave them alone but as everyone starts to get up Angelina leaves.

Sister Bridget comes in and demands to know why Andres is in Carolina’s room. She will not permit it. This is a convent, not a prison Carolina states. We are leaving she announces as an astonished Andres stares.

Nestor runs into Eva and they walk together down the street.

Lucas shows up with flowers. Why are you here Rosalie asks. They are lovely she says. Although they talk, (she mentioning a pelicula), they are not ready to reconcile.

Carolina, Andres, and their suitcases leave the convent as the iron door shuts behind them. Unfortunately, the timing could not have been worse! A grey sedan drives up and the driver alights. “Papa” Andres calls out. Carlos holds his arms out to Andres as Carolina stares, worry and fear clearly etched on her face.

There were a few scenes where I was rather lost and some dialogue that I simply could not translate. Jarifa, I look forward to your sure to be marvelous summary which will dispel my confusion.

MONTEVERDE Extras parte 1

The detective tells Carlos that Carolina and Andrés are at the Santa Inés convent in Chiapa de Corzo.

Moisés asks Celeste why she is so nasty to his god-father. She tells him that he will not talk to her that way. She demands respect! Moisés doesn't get why he has to take a test. She knows what she taught him. She says the test is to see what he has remembered. He next asks her what is going on with her. She didn't give him his hug!! He is"a bit better" after he gets his hug.

Lucas asks Iñaki what he is doing with Rosalía. Iñaki can't quite place her at first but then remembers her as the "little doctor". He thinks the witch is "really fine." Lucas tells him not to talk that way about her. Iñaki asks why he would care. Lucas says she was his novia. Iñaki laughs and says she didn't remember Lucas or even pause when she accepted his invitation to have a beer. Everyone can see that the little doctor is hare-brained. Lucas tells Iñaki to respect her and the fight is on. Néstor arrives and separates the men. He then finds out the fight is about Rosalía. Néstor asks what Iñaki had to say about her. Iñaki doesn't get why they all defend her like they do since she really isn't anything special. Néstor starts to fight him.

Néstor tells Rosalía that there was a fight at the stables all because of her. How could she go out with Iñaki the day after she broke up with Lucas? She answers that she is an adult and can do what she wants. He informs her she has to be more careful with how she acts. A man see a pretty woman, invites her out and then tells his friends all sorts of lies to look good. She needs to remember this is a small town. If she doesn't want her name on everyone's lips, she needs to think about what she is doing. She thanks him for the advice. He scoffs at her gratitude as he leaves but says he looked at the album she gave him. She asks if he liked the photos. He says they will talk later. She concludes that he liked them.

Juan David tells Angelina that she doesn't get it. Her mother is putting on a good show so they don 't kick her out. He will not ask her to choose between her mother and him, so he is making the decision by leaving.

Celeste tells Oscar that, after looking at the test results , Moisés can do better if he works harder. Oscar is confused citing the times she told him that Oscar was advancing day by day. Celeste says she was wrong. Moisés has to be more disciplined. She expects to see them tomorrow ON TIME. After she leaves, Moisés tells his father that the nun is stranger than ever. She didn't even tell him a joke. They both wonder what happened to her.
 

MONTEVERDE Extras parte 2

The good father fills Celeste in on Moisés and his education. When Carolina got there, Moisés could not read or write. The child made significant advances due to her. He is more concerned what could happen if Oscar discovers that she and Carolina are not the same person. She needs to be careful to not be so cold with him. She doesn't want him trying to kiss her again. He gets it but if she is that drastically different he will suspect there are two sister Celestes. She doesn't like his idea. He suggests a little flexibility would not be a bad thing.

Celeste reminds Oscar she has consecrated her life to God. If he doesn't leave her alone, she will have to take more drastic measures. As he insists, she asks him to look at reality. She has a habit on and they are in a church. He found her praying. The only devotion she has is to God, nobody else. He continues to insists that she cannot forget what happened between them. She says he doesn't get it. She already told him that what happened between them was a mistake. She apologizes if she gave him the impression that things could be different between them because they can't. He asks how she can turn her back on something so profound that they shared. She explains that she was going through a crisis where weakness overcame her. These things sometimes happen with the religious. Life gives them tests to reaffirm their vocation. This situation was the test that God gave her. Oscar cannot believe it. She asks if he sees any doubt in her eyes or any attraction for him. She says he doesn't see anything because there isn't anything. She is sure about what she wants to do with her life. Her religious vocation is her reality and priority. Nobody or nothing will change her opinion. There is nothing else to say. It is over. Oscar has to agree it is over and she goes back to praying.

Tiburcio tells Hugo that some of the guys were out and about and said that somebody put Doris' truck in the Manzilla's barn. There is a man at a table taking it all in. He quickly pays and leaves.

Néstor tells Oscar that he was warned by Celeste when she told him there would be a drastic change. Oscar admits she did but didn't believe it. He cannot understand the changes in her. Something isn't right. Néstor thinks he has to respect her decision and stop thinking about it. Nothing lasts forever.

Lucas tells Rosalía that he will not leave the spot where he is standing until she accepts his apology and gets back together with him. She tells him to stop being foolish. He is not moving until she accepts his apology. If she doesn't, he will die from love and she will have to go to his funeral. She thinks he is crazy. What about work? He concludes that he could end up dead and unemployed. He admits getting this idea from an Italian movie. She reminds him that life is not like the movies. He agrees but their love story is. He will do whatever he has to do to get her back. She has to get to work. He reminds her that he will be waiting for her right there. She bets him that he will not last an hour.
 

MONTEVERDE

Jarifa, you clarified not only every conversation but every event perfectly.

I hadn't realized "When Carolina got there, Moisés could not read or write". It seems teaching is Carolina's true vocation.

"Iñaki doesn't get why they all defend her like they do since she really isn't anything special". How horrible he spoke about Lucia that way! It's a wonder Nestor didn't pummel him into the ground!

"She asks if he sees any doubt in her eyes or any attraction for him. She says he doesn't see anything because there isn't anything". Moises and now Oscar definitely know something is amiss. I can't imagine how Carolina and Andres are going to get away from Carlos now that he has them cornered, but I hope Carolina gets back to Monteverde where we have both sisters in action. What fun that would be!

Rosalia and Lucas' conversation was so enjoyable; thank you for explaining it.

I'd love a lot more Hugo...here's hoping.

No, I am not watching this remake of the remake, etc., etc., but did catch a few minutes of it before Monteverde and have to say that Angelique Boyer was outstanding in the starring role of the rejected and swindled bride with a heart turned to stone. She is always the best at whatever she does.

Thanks for your kind comments, Diana. I feel like I miss things by trying to get done in a reasonable amount time. Sorry I haven’t been commenting after the recap. Between doctors appointments and life I feel like my days fly by. I’m not sure if Gisela has come to her senses or just feels like waiting because of all that’s going on. If Hernan takes a few pieces of jewelry Gisela might not notice. But he’s greedy. I really thought he was beginning to care for Gisela, but I was wrong. I hope Rudolf doesn’t remain in jail but it seems pretty bleak for him. I had to delete some stuff because my comment was too long. I think I got it all in except Melina talking to the camera about manipulating people so they end up doing what you want them to do. Bill is nice but I’m sure Paulina is going to show up. I wonder how Emi will feel then. I hope he doesn’t find out she’s using him to get to the money from Jason!

I have been here at Caray even when it was the original blog Pratie Place with blog mom Melanama ( Jane Pepplar). I surfed into Alborado and saw a handsome man ,and then I found Pratie Place . That was 18 years ago . The community grew , and people started sharing their own lives. Since I came here 18 years ago after the loss of my mother, I have lost 8 more people I !ove, family and friends, so I feel that it is a good place to share your feelings during difficult times . Even if you can't recap, please stay here with us . Susan

I’m trying to be faster with Papas!

Since then , I have lost seven friends , including my three best friends . Caraycaray is like being with friends . Luckily, I have two daughters , four granddaughters , a devoted cousin , nieces and nephews, an older sister., "adopted" sons who help me in various ways , some good friends , and the daughters of the three best friends that I lost. Papas #33. Part 1

Scarlett is cheering Íker up while Emi looks on,unhappily. Then we see Tino playing and teaching Íker, while Emi looks sad again. Then Aidé and Tino are arguing while Melina lurks. Aide has nothing against Mikey, it’s Melina. Tino says they’re just friends. Aide disagrees and tells him she sent Bill on their date night.

Clara Luz and Rosario are talking, Clara Luz tells her
Gibron wanted to meet with them, and he told Rudolf not to let Nazario know. She suggests checking Gibron’s cellphone

Nazario admits sending the flowers to Clara Luz to make Rudolf jealous. He tells Prisma to use her brain, if they break up she and Nazario will get Pipe and the money.

Chofis friend wants her help. She needs a job and can help Chofis, and live there. Chofis tells her the house is full. The girl still wants to work there.

Tino thinks Aide is being jealous ..Melina is a friend that helps both of them. He’s only had eyes for Aide. No, he will not accept Melina and Íker leaving the house. Melina, lurking again, is quite pleased.

The chauffeur catches Hernan sneaking out of Gisela’s room. Hernan goes on the offense and says he has no business questioning him. Gisela comes around the corner and he stops yelling at the chauffeur.

Circe is with her girlfriend wondering how she could have married someone she met online. Her friend says she’ll cheer her up, and shows her the pictures Checo took and the fact that there girls were being drugged.

Tino feels Aide has never accepted his kids like he did hers. So he’s going to recognize Íker as his son, legally, I assume. Melina is ecstatic. But surprise off as our chauffeur brings in a detective to ask Tino and Aide some questions.

Hernan tells Gisela she only likes rich men and isn’t interested in him. He’s going to Tiajuana He also mentions the chauffeur, I think he says he’s only interested in her money. Gisela looks confused.

Circe’ s friend tells her
Checo’s article is getting lots of likes and Circe should like it too. Circe says she’ll send him a message but is not interested in love.

Melina wonders if Hernan is leaving before the detectives talk to him. She says she’s an expert at erasing her past. Hernan wonders why El,Chacal found something on her. He doesn’t think she had anything to do with the death because she had no contact with the guy, so true!

Tino and Aide say most of the family was at a cafeteria for dinner. They tell the detective they don’t believe Rudolf did it. They tell him who was home, he wants to,talk to those three. Tino leaves to visit Rudolf. Melina tells the detective she had a ticket to somewhere but came home and Rudolf was over the body, she knows what she saw. Hernan also had a ticket,the detective tells him he needs to find it. Gisela says she’s went to bed early with a headache.

Serena and Cheno are talking about Poncho. Cheno realizes he doesn’t have his phone and leaves. He arrives home and Chofis’ friend is in a facial mask. Both scream as Chofis rushes in.

Melina confronts Aide as Aide is remembering her argument with Tino. She wonders what Aide has against her. Aide says she’ll send doesn’t have to give her any explanations. Melina wonders if it’s because she had a biological son of Tino’s, or something else.

Tino tells Rudolf the last signal of Gibron’s cellphone was at Maximax, but no phone was found. Rudolf is worried about Maximax but Tino,tells him only Bill knows about the murder, as one of their clients.

Paulina,wonders why Bill is still using Maximax, soon everyone will know of the scandal.

The choffer hurries the kids into the house, past a crown of reporters. Melina is accusing Aide of not respecting her son as he comes in. Melina asks what he heard but he is upset over the reporters

Papas #33 part 2

Paulina was the one that notified the reporters. Bill is upset but she feels, thanks to her, Emi will now live with him.

Chofis is explaining to her dad that her friend’s mom through her out and she wants to live with them, apparently it will only be for a week.

Clara Luz,is,questioning Nazario on his relationship with Gibron and why Gibron wanted to talk to Rudolf about him. Narazio says something about the production with the kids and Clara Luz acuses him of being egoistical.The twins come in, Pipe asking about his dad and Natalie asking about Rudolf and Gibron. She sends them off.

All the kids are upset about the reporters. Tino asks how they are and wonders how the reporters found out. This could hurt Maximax. Gisela is nervous and Aide tells her to have the kids wash their hands. Aide wants to speak to Íker, he didn’t seem to want to but Melina told him to listen to Aide.

Serena tries to convince Cheno to let the girl stay, Cheno says they already have 8 or more here.

Aide asks forgiveness of Íker. She has nothing against him, she and his mother have a problem. He says he understands it must be hard for her to have him and his mother there. After he leaves Melina tells Aide thanks for apologizing after she was so horrible about my son.

Melina goes to Emi to tell him Aide was mean to her son but has repented and Tino is going to legally recognize Íker as his son, and Aide will make his favorite cake. Emi only says “que”.

Pipe wants to know where his dad is. He starts banging his silverware. Nazario grabs his hands. Clara Luz tells him that’s not the way to treat him. When Pipe bangs again Nazario takes the silver from him. Clara Luz decides to get the food, she Prisma and Natalie leave. Nazario tells Pipe his father did something very bad, it’s probably on the news, he scrolls through his phone.

Gisela coughs at the dinner table, Melina says that’s normal for someone her age. Gisela goes to lie down. Aide announces she made Iker’s favorite dessert, but it’s for all of the . Emi doesn’t look happy.

Hernan is gambling again.

Gisela is talking on the phone. She doesn’t want Hernan to go so,far. Then she opens her jewelry box and is missing some of her jewelry.

At dinner Serena convinces Cheno to let Jeni stay. Chofis goes to the kitchen to thank her for convincing her dad, but she’ll still be watching her over Chachito. Pancho comes in and sees Jeni. Their eyes meet. Do they know each other?

Pipe wants to look at the internet for a song, alone. Clara Luz gives him her phone, at the dinner table. He finds the news and screams that his father is a murderer.

Aide brings Íker a piece of his favorite cake. A brownie. He begins coughing and needing air. Tino says to call an ambulance while Melina accuses Aide of giving him something he’s allergic to.

I am beyond impressed you continue to create these wonderful stories, especially as you are in the process of recovering and dealing with so much including doctors and everyday life. Please, you do not need to respond to my comments. Your detailing is amazing; I am getting increasingly lost most nights and you clarify oh so much. Thank you.

So I'm thinking Melina put something in the brownies that Iker was allergic to. If so, it MUST mean she isn't his mother - right??

I despise that Emi and Iker are being pitted against each other by Melina, such a cruel master manipulator.

"Tino feels Aide has never accepted his kids like he did hers. So he’s going to recognize Íker as his son, legally, I assume. Melina is ecstatic". I however, am definitely not!! Surely this validates the fact Tino is not Iker's father!

Aide is right in that Melina shouldn't be there. Too bad Tino took Melina's side; a shame he can't see what's right in front of him.

Looks like Pancho was hit by the thunderbolt.

I like Chano and Serena's relationship, too bad Chofis isn't more on board.

Looks like Rudolf is in for a significant stint in jail.

Gisela needs to tell Aide and Tino Hernan stole her jewelry.

MONTEVERDE #23, Part 1

Carlos alights from his car; ”papa” Andres exclaims. Carlos asks for a hug and Andres runs into his arms. Carlos holds his arm out to Carolina but she just stares icily.

Eva and Nestor are walkin’ and talkin’ and getting along like two peas in a pod. They agree to go to his house for coffee.

Carlos seems glad the family is together. Carolina smashes that into smithereens by saying “nunca”. Yet, they get in the car as she gives him a detestable side eye.

Angelina cries to her mother “why, why”. She loves her husband. Gloria doesn’t seem too sympathetic and hands her a napkin and dries her eyes.

Lucia and Rosalia emerge from the house and lo and behold Lucas IS still standing there (just as he promised) 😊. Lucia smiles but Rosalia doesn’t. She calls him absolutely loco but Lucas stands his ground undeterred.

Eva and Nestor are having coffee when Oscar barges in. Why is she here he snarls? He continues to insult her as Nestor tries to intervene (rather in vain), asking Oscar respect her. Franco meant absolutely nothing to you he yells at her. That’s too much for Eva and as her eyes fill with tears, she walks unsteadily out the door as Oscar barks, eyes flashing “Get out of Monteverde”, eyes flashing. Nestor tries to speak up but Oscar doesn’t back down.

The not so happy family are at a restaurant, Andres hugging his mother. Carolina asks him what he is up to. She calls him on his crimes as he says “basta”. I can’t follow the conversation but he seems to be threatening to take Andres.

Hunky Hugo and Juanita are talking with Manuel.

Eva is in the forest crying when Franco drives up. Concerned, he stops to ask if she is all right. She talks a bit about the past and he turns and leaves. Gracias Franco she says wiping her eyes. She talks about Oscar and asks Franco if he is a good father, the answer is yes. Forgive me she begs taking his hand. He withdraws his hand as she pleads but he is not ready. She puts her hands up to her face as he drives away.

Carolina leaves to go to the ladies room. She calls Celeste and leaves her a message. Are you all right Carlos asks when she returns. He puts his arms around her shoulders, but she shrugs them off. Carlos asks them about their whereabouts but Carolina puts her finger up to her mouth to Andres, indicating he is to say nothing. He nods without words.

Juanita and Hugo have a flat tire and have broken down on the road.

MONTEVERDE #23, Part 2

Celeste listens to Carolina’s message. She clutches her cross when we hear a click and it’s Oscar, training his gun on her! He says it’s private property. A livid Celeste grabs the gun right out of his hands and climbs over the fence!

Uh oh. Carlos drives straight into a roadblock. Carlos tells Andres not to be nervous. Carlos gets out of the car and shows one of the officers his license. The men search the car, asking him to open the suitcase – they find nothing. Is everything all right Andres asks. It seems it is.

Franco talks to Oscar about Eva. I can’t add much here other than Franco is overwhelmed and Oscar holds him close.

Carlos brings Carolina and Andres to a house. He puts his hands in her hair and on her shoulders. He holds her close and she leans forward, no doubt her mind going a mile a minute.

Stuck in the middle of nowhere, Hugo and Juanita take advantage of their breakdown, having a snack and conversation. He puts his hand on her cheek oh so gently. Their lips are thisclose when he hear a car horn honk and Oscar drives up. More bad timing I grouse! But Juanita was definitely open to that kiss and smiles broadly.

Carlos is showing Andres pictures on his phone of some lush looking destination, I believe the Cayman Islands. Andres asks about Carlos’ troubles with the law which Carlos seems to deny. He continues to show him pictures of exotic fish…

Lucia asks Rosalia to forgive Lucas, saying he is truly repentant. Rosalia is unresponsive as we hear thunder in the distance.

Carlos enters the bedroom where Carolina is already sitting. Carlos removes his shirt and sits on the bed. He kisses her face as she winces. He sits on the bed ready to remove his pants.

Hugo and Juanita drive up in the pouring rain to find Lucas standing steadfastly outside Rosalia’s. Lucas tries to talk some sense into him but to no avail. Lucas isn’t moving! Oh and Juanita had leaned over and given Hugo a goodbye kiss 😊

We next see Carolina running down the stairs; she grabs Andres and they run out.

At work, Father Gabriel talks with Juan David about his problems. Juan David adores his wife, but not his suegra. All of a sudden, Angelina arrives. There is silence as they start working.

MONTEVERDE #23, Part 3

Fresh from the shower, Carlos calls for Carolina. Hearing no response, he rushes to find Andres. He goes to get his shirt and realizes the keys and car are gone. They are indeed as we see Carolina driving down the highway, Andres ensconced in the back seat. I believe Carolina grabbed Carlos’ phone on the way out. She tells Andres Carlos will be livid!

Franco gets home calling for Lucas. There is no answer. He tells Lucia about talking with his mother; she is pleased and gives him a hug. She tells him he isn’t alone; he has many people that care about him. They kiss.

Father Gabriel is setting the table and asks Angelina and Juan David to sit down. He talks about love and matrimony and gives them a pep talk citing the importance of communication. Just then, there is a knock on the door and Gloria rushes in, demanding to know what the meaning of this is! She grabs Angelina as the padre tries to interrupt and explain. She insults Juan David and he tells Gloria SHE is the problem. Gloria tells her daughter Juan David doesn’t respect her. She grabs her by the hand and pulls her out. Gloria is impossible Juan David tells the good padre.

Carlos leave the house muttering furiously about Carolina.

Lucas, who is now soaking wet and shivering is offered a towel by one of the women when Lucia comes up. She is not relenting; Lucas tells her he isn’t manipulating her, he loves her. Celeste advises him to go home (I think).

Hugo greets Doris, who is upset about the bus.

Carlos is walking down a dark road as a car drives by him without stopping. He curses angrily…

Juan David has prepared a nice meal for the women, one in particular fawns over it and him!

Andres is asleep in the car as Carolina pulls over to call her sister. They are returning to Monteverde!!

I so wish I had understood more of the dialogue! Thank heavens Carlos was so (unexpectedly) careless. It appears our two sisters will be together once again. I cannot wait!!

MONTEVERDE Extras parte 1

Gloria tells a tearful Angelina that Juan David moved in with the women at the inn and not his uncle just to provoke her. He wants her to get jealous so he can control her. That is how men are. She needs to not go after him. By her being indifferent, he will be back in no time. If he doesn't come back it will prove that he doesn't love her. Indifference is a great weapon! In a few days he will be back with his tail between his legs.

Lucía thinks that Lucas is super romantic. It is like that scene from that Italian movie. Lucas says it was "Dolce Amore" (Sweet Love) and he is doing the same thing that Marcelo Mastroianni did to win back his love. Rosalía cannot be moved.

At the restaurant, Carolina sends Andrés to wash his hands so she can talk to Carlos. Carlos wants to make up the time he lost with his son when Carolina took him away. She asks him what was she supposed to do being a fugitive from the law. She wasn't going to wait around at home only to be arrested when he is the criminal. He takes issue with being called that. She says that is the TRUTH. If he doesn't like that she can call him a thief! He tells her that is enough or this is going to end badly. He explains that he found them through a private detective. He says that for the good of their son, they should all get along and be the family that they were. She tells him to forget it. He reminds her that he has the same right to be with his son as she does. She will never allow Andrés to be with him since he is a swindler leaving who knows how many people out on the street. What is worse is that he blamed her, his own wife. He tells her to not be so anxious. She says if he wants things to be like they were before, he needs to turn himself in AFTER he has returned the money he stole.He cannot do that. He no longer has the money. He invested it abroad. He tells her to stop thinking like a mere housewife. That has always annoyed him about her. They can live a life of luxury in the Cayman Islands. he has it all arranged. They are going to fly to the Caymans in a friend's private plane. He obtained false passports so they can travel freely. So, the decision is up to her. Either they go as a family of three or he will go alone with his son.

Manuel sends Juanita on an errand with Hugo.
 

MONTEVERDE Extras parte 2

Eva talks to Franco about having spent so much time with him Franco in the forest on the way to the river. She asks him if he remembers a tree she points out. He says no. She tells him that when he was a little kid they used some rope and a piece of wood to make him a swing. They came every afternoon so he could swing and he would tell her how the day at school went. He would ask her to sing the spider song. Sometimes, his father would catch up with them after work and play a little while with him. Then the three of them would go home.No, he doesn't remember hardly doing anything with her. She also remembers him liking to look for frogs at the river. He admits he did that until he was a teenager. She thinks they should go look for some frogs now. He has to go to work. She understands and thanks him for stopping to talk to her. He asks why she didn't take him with her when she left. She explains that she thought about taking him with her but she was in such a bad place that she was afraid she could not take care of him and give him a good life. She also didn't want to take him away from his father. She knew if he stayed with him, he would be fine. and she didn't make a mistake because he has become a real man. Oscar is the best father in the world. Franco agrees that Oscar excelled at that but he always missed her. She knows and asks him to forgive her for all the damage she did to him. She never should have gone. She made a mistake. She asks him to think about getting together with her again and they can go find frogs at the river and maybe remember more from his childhood. Franco doesn't know about that.

Carolina tells Celeste not to call her so Carlos doesn't find out that she is involved.

Hugo has a flat tire but no jack.

Oscar says Celeste made it clear that she didn't want anything to do with him so that includes being on his property. Celeste cannot believe that he would threaten her with his rifle. She tells "the little man" to shoot her and ends up taking the gun with her.

Franco asks Oscar if he remembers hanging up a swing for him on a tree when he was little. His mother told him about it. Franco asks his father if he remembers . Yes, Oscar does remember him going to play by the river after school with his mother on a swing that he made for him.

Carolina wants to sleep with Andrés but Carlos wants her with him being the married couple that they are.

Andrés expresses his concern about his mother being arrested to Carlos. The police are after her because of him and he needs to fix the situation. Carlos says he is going to hire a lawyer to take care of the matter but it will take time.In the mean time, they can live peacefully in the Cayman Islands. There are manta rays. . .

Rosalía tells Lucía that she feel like she is being black mailed by Lucas. She cares about him but is not sure she wants to go back with him. Lucía thinks Rosalía really loves him and is only punishing herself.

Carlos wants to bathe with Carolina but she is not interested. She says she is worn out.

The good father tells Juan David and Angelina that he wants to have an administrative meeting about something very important at his home with them that evening. When they arrive, it turns out that he wants to give them some time to talk about their problems alone.

Carolina tells Andrés to throw his father's phone out of the window so he cannot track them.

(Even) Celeste asks Rosalía if she has a heart seeing how Lucas is shivering. Rosalía says she has a big heart but if he wants to die of the cold, that is his decision. Celeste tells him to give it up and go home. She sees what he is doing as a form of black mail. It is not the correct way to apologize.

Doris is upset with the police who do not seem to be doing much of anything to find her bus.

Carolina calls her sister to tell her that they have driven all day and part of the night. They are in Campeche and tomorrow they will take an early bus to Zacatillo. She has decided to return to Monteverde.

Oh Jarifa, your summary was divine! Ahh, a manta ray! I was struggling to ID that interesting creature of the sea which you knew right away of course.

Thank you for explaining "Lucas says it was "Dolce Amore" (Sweet Love) and he is doing the same thing that Marcelo Mastroianni did to win back his love". I admire his strength but Rosalia doesn't seem to be overly impressed does she?

Eva is becoming very "human"...it's hard to envision her leaving her family, what she felt for Nestor must have been a powerful force indeed. Much advice was dispensed last night, most of it questionable such as "Indifference is a great weapon!" Hmm, Gloria, I'm not too sure about that! I think the father's advice is much wiser.

Marcelo Cordoba is SO handsome but his rationale is totally flawed. "She asks him what was she supposed to do being a fugitive from the law". Good question Carolina. I am a bit surprised though that he just didn't try and steal poor Andres and leave her in the dust after alerting the authorities. One of the many reasons I like this show, it's not predictable.

I did think Carolina told Andres to throw his father's phone out the window but wasn't positive as we didn't see it. I'm sure he won't be "down" for long. Unfortunately. :(

Thank you for clearing up so many elements of this fascinating TN Jarifa. You enable me to understand what truly transpired which is so vital to the story and I am so grateful.

Diana, no need for thanks since I am getting to do something I enjoy: dissecting some of these well-written scenes.

I loved the scenes about the frogs and the swing. How poignant without being sappy!

As for Carlos’ phone, Carolina did tell him to throw it out the window and he sort of looked like he threw something out the window but then again he didn’t seem close enough to the window to me so I don’t know.

How many years since I have heard of Marcelo M.? He was a good looking actor. Makes me want to see exactly what he did in that movie. Who would think that Lucas out in the middle of nowhere was into foreign films? This novela never fails to surprise us.

I always enjoy another cute Marcelo: Marcelo C. Unfortunately, he has not been in many novelas I have seen.

Yes! The twins are together back in town!

Jarifa, yes, Marcelo M. was good looking although I can't recall if I ever saw any of his actual movies. :)

Marcelo C. was in Pasion one of my favorites. It was the first time I'd seen him and he was amazing. I thought that would definitely lead to more leading roles but alas...

I am sure there will be quite some time until the "big reveal" and I can't wait for the hijinx before that happens. :)

I too am sure Melina did something to Iker’s brownie. I think she’s his mother but it so incredibly selfish and going after what she wants, so Íker is just a pawn in her plan. I wonder how Tino will react to Iker’s emergency. I’m not sure why Melina is intent on having him. He seems to be pretty broke, in spite of the nice house.

I wonder if Gisela will suspect Hernan, or is her love blind!

I like Serena but in the original show I liked the mom and Checo the best. It was always hard to know what they were saying. And still is!

Susan, I remember when you lost your husband, and would watch your granddaughters, or spend time with them. You’ve had so much loss. I feel like these telenovelas are a break from reality, but I definitely prefer the lighter ones. I’m enjoying Monteverde, but playing catch up a lot!

Because Lichita is in the opening credits, I think we are going to see her again (no spoiler). But whether it's in flashback or present day remains to be seen. I'm thinking she is involved in whatever Checo's terrible memory is of the gun going off but...

Domenica Episode 2 Part 1:
Let's get to it. Max shows up at Domenica's house, he tells her he can't marry her because he is bankrupt, he throws his business partner under the bus and blames him for losing millions of dollars. Domenica acts like a baby moron and offers up her money- with no written agreement for repayment, she's just going of off good vibes. She continues her bad choices by telling Andres that she will not ask Max to sign the prenup.

Later she meets Max at a church and he tells her that he does not deserve her and that she has changed him- but not enough to not steal from her, cheat on her and leave her at the altar! The wedding is set for the next day.

At this point Max has taken millions from Domenica and from Kiara who transferred to him all the money she stole from her mom. She totally deserved to be scammed. Kiara tells Max that she wants him to leave Domenica at the altar, she wants her to be completely humiliated. We also get some back story about how Kiara and Max met. They spent a week in Vegas, Kiara was all over him until she found out he was a broke boy and that's when she and Max started to plot against Domenica.

On the day of the wedding Domenica gets ready and puts on the ugliest dress I've ever seen. She is ready to get married, Max is nowhere to be seen, eventually the priest leaves because he has another wedding to get to. At this point Domenica and everyone else are under the impression that something bad has happened to Max and then the letter arrives.

Liz, thanks for an excellent recap.. I, too, think that despicable Melina DoD something to iker's brownie . iAre we sure that she is Iker's bio!ogical mother ? If so, how did he ever become the sweet, sensitive boy that he is ?

Hernan is a grifter, and Gisela isn't as smart as she thinks she is falling for that guy. His sticky fingers will grab that jewelry and gamble it away the sane day .
