Juan Soler's new business venture

Some may find what follows shocking. Others won't believe it. Others may think that I have concocted this item to further weaken any token support Aldo might have among the viewers of La Fea Mas Bella. But you would be wrong. I am not making this up, as Dave Barry would say.

Yes, thanks to a cover story in the March 6 issue of TVNotas magazine (a goldmine of information about novelas in general), we now know that "Ahora Juan Soler y Alan Tacher venden toallas sanitarias!" That's sanitary napkins, for anyone who needs a translation. A copy of the article appears http://ninasbloggg.blogspot.com/ (my blog). In my view, this is just the sort of patronizing claptrap that Aldo would inflict on us.

I could undertake to write a translation, but I don't have time tonight.

P.S. Who's Alan Tacher? I'm not familiar with him.

Pictures of Fernando Colunga from new movie "Ladron"

Lesa, who sent these pictures, writes:

I thought maybe you would like to share these photos of Fernando, taken in August/September on the set of the movie, with everyone on the Blog.

The first photo is with some of the cast, from left to right: Gabriel Soto, Ivonne Montero, Fernando Colunga, Miguel Varoni and Oscar Torres, the guy on the right wearing the glasses and the plaid shirt is JoJo Henrickson, the writer of the movie and also is in the movie.

This photo has the original working name for the film, "Movidas" then later it was also called "Bandoleros" and now they have named it "Ladron Que Roba a Ladron".

The second photo from the set, left to right: Oscar Torres, Fernando Colunga and JoJo
Henrickson.

Wow, THANKS, Lesa. But are they going to show this movie in the U.S.? How are we going to get to see it??

Fernando Colunga movie coming in April: "Bandoleros" AKA ""LADRON QUE ROBA A LADRON"

Lesa wrote:

I see a lot of questions about Fernando Colunga and what he's up to on your site. I'd like to let you and everyone know that Fernando has a movie [NOT a telenovela, a real movie] that is to be released in April. [It's called BANDOLEROS.]

It also stars other novela stars including Gabriel Soto, Oscar Torres, Saul Lisazo, Miguel Varoni and Ivonne Montero. It is a Lionsgate film, directed by Joe Menendez, produced by Roni Menendez and Ben Odell, writen by JoJo Henrickson.

I've have seen the first cut of the film last week at a screening for the film and I must tell everyone that it is well worth seeing, it shouldn't be missed, especially if you're a Fernando Colunga fan.

Death of "La Fea" director Sergio Jiménez

From esmas:

Mexico City, January 3, 2007. Consternation and sadness were the sentiments that invaded the forums of "La Fea Más Bella" upon learning of the death of director Sergio Jiménez.

"Today we were waiting for our director to arrive but he didn't come. People close to him went to find him at his apartment and saw it was locked, that his car was outside and hadn't been moved for a few days," explained Rosy Ocampo.

"It was decided to go to the ministry, they came to his house and found he had died watching television. It was death by natural causes, apparently a heart attack. He had recently turned 70 years old, with many plans for the future," she added.

Rosy notified the crew and cast. "He called them 'mis troyanos' [Trojans?] because he commented that part of the success was this grand team."

The Prof himself, as he was called affectionately, already had made plans for the new year. "He spoke of the next movela we were to make together, and that he wanted to go to Greece when La Fea terminated. He was a man looking forward in his life."

The last time he was with the crew was December 23, the last day of taping in 2006.

The producer said Angélica Vale was the one most affected: "They arrived together at that which is 'Lety'. They had a grand friendship, he even called her his grand-daughter."

Rest in peace.
