Caray, Caray!

Alina and Luba, nursing the unconscious Emilio, were startled by a knock. It was only Vera. Luba asked her to put some powder in Thelma's tea. Vera was afraid to do it but finally agreed.

She took the tea to Thelma, who whined because there was no honey in it, then went to sleep. (Luba drugged her so she wouldn't go to Emilio's room during the night and discover Alina there.)

Vera went outside and saw Thelma's Aunt Rebeca sneakily discarding Thelma's red dress in a trash can. When Rebeca was gone, Vera retrieved the dress and decided to keep it, saying, "All the women will envy me."

Orlando went into Emilio's room, startling Alina so much that she broke a glass. Orlando assured her, "I've always respected you," and promised not to tell anyone she was there. "I don't want Thelma to humiliate you. Count on me for whatever you need. This will be our secret."

Jose got drunk and told Felicia, "You make me feel much better." He said he wanted to go to sleep, but Felicia kissed him. Of course, since this is a telenovela, Jose immediately hallucinated that he was kissing Mariana. He said, "Mi amor, it is you!" and started taking off Felicia's clothes.

The next day, Jose was upset and told Arcadio he hadn't meant for it to happen. Arcadio just laughed and said, "You are a man," that Mariana would never know.

Santos's mother, Carmen, told him he should stay far away from Maximo. Santos said he wanted to be near Rosita and would kill Maximo if he bothered her. Later Carmen told her friend Chela she was afraid Maximo and Santos would kill each other.

Thelma woke up from her drugged sleep and told Vera she would go see Emilio after she bathed. Vera raced to Emilio's room and warned Alina that Thelma was on her way.

Before leaving, Alina told Emilio, "I love you." To her surprise, he mumbled, "I love you too, Flor." Alina exclaimed to Luba, "Did you hear him? Emilio, open your eyes!" Luba had to drag her out of the room.

Then somehow Luba disappeared and Alina was alone in the hallway with Donkey/Tonqui/Don Quixote or whatever that dog is named. Hearing Thelma approach, she slipped behind a door to hide, leaving Tawnkee in the hall. It turned out she was in Angel's bedroom. He saw her but didn't say anything.

Thelma found the dog and went into Angel's room to ask, "Whose dog is this?" She didn't notice Alina standing behind her, plastered against the wall. Angel said it was Flor's dog and he would take care of it. Thelma snapped, "I don't like animals! I hate animals!" and left the room, leaving Dahnkey behind.

Angel told Alina he knew about everything (Emilio's illness, her almost-marriage to Emilio, etc.) He asked, "Do you think Emilio is going to be OK?" Alina admitted, "I don't know."

She said she loved Emilio with all her soul, then apologized to Angel for saying it. He said, "Don't worry about me," adding that he knew women like strong, macho men like Emilio.

After Alina left, Susi came into Angel's room wearing a tight white outfit. She said, "You look very sad." Angel replied, "How difficult it is to love a woman who loves someone else."

Thelma and Rebeca visited Emilio and heard him mutter, "Flor, I love you too." Thelma said, "Emilio, my love, it's me, Thelma." Emilio muttered, "I don't want to marry Thelma, no no."

Meanwhile, at Marianita's school: Marianita's friend Juanito was singing to cheer her up when she suddenly passed out.

Mariana visited Marianita in the hospital. Her doctor admirer (I'll call him Dr. Love) explained that Marianita was having a reaction to chemotherapy. Mariana said despairingly, "I've spent years listening to the same. The cancer keeps coming back. By God, what do I have to do?"

Back at Don Loco's hacienda, Adela told the suddenly-awake Soledad that Alina was alive. Soledad diagnosed, "Alvaro is loco," and Adela agreed. Soledad said she was glad that Alvaro thought she was loco, too. "I want him to suffer the way I've suffered. Will you help me?" Adela said, "Si, Señito."

(Wouldn't it be smarter for Soledad to try to escape from Don Loco's evil clutches? After all, Adela has the house keys... but I guess sticking around and pretending to be insane is a good plan, too.)

Later Soledad prayed for Alina's safety, saying, "I'm not important. What matters is that she is all right."

After learning from her father that Rosita was at home, Maximo went there and found her dancing while she swept the floor. He said, "Dancing and hard-working!" Rosita told him her father was at the hacienda. Maximo said he'd come to see her.

Meanwhile, Carmen was telling her friend Chela about her bad memories of Maximo. "Maximo was enamored of me. I did not want to give myself. I wanted to marry the good one, but this man no longer wanted to make me his."

In a flashback, she remembered waking up one night and hearing Maximo shouting outside her house, "Carmen, open this damn door! I found out you're seeing another man!" He broke into the house and shouted something like, "I wanted to do good for you, you didn't want it, now I'm going to do bad!" then raped her violently.

Remembering this, Carmen told Chela, "He is a bad man," that he lashed and kicked her when he found out she was pregnant. "And now my son is going to confront him. He's capable of doing harm to his own son." Chela said she should try to forget the past. Carmen said, "How can I forget? He marked me for life."

Back at Rosita's house, Maximo was telling Rosita that he loved her in a good way and wouldn't hurt her. Rosita protested, "I have a boyfriend and we love each other." Maximo sneered, "You love this starving Santos?" Rosita said yes, and Maximo grabbed her violently, yelling, "Then you are an idiot!"

Santos burst in, yelling, "Let go of her!" He said he was there to defend Rosita. Maximos laughed and said, "Defend her? You couldn't defend her from me." He left, cackling evilly and repeating, "Defend her! Hahaha!"

Later Maximo's good-looking minion Castulo offered to make Santos disappear forever. Maximo said not yet because if anything happened to Santos, suspicion would fall on him, so they would wait a little while.

Dr. Vasquez told Thelma that Emilio was much better, thanks to Luba's magical herbs. "This woman knows a lot." Later the doctor told Angel not to let Emilio know he was married to Thelma because that news could kill Emilio.

At the cave: Luba told Alina not to trust Emilio, all men were liars, etc. She reminded Alina that Emilio was married to "la tal Thelma" and she was pregnant. Gaspar, who had been napping, jumped to his feet and exclaimed, "I'm going to have a child?"

Luba snapped, "What stupid thing are you saying? Did you hear that, Flor?" Seeing the steam coming out of Luba's ears, Alina hastily left the cave, saying she was going to look for roots.

Gaspar asked Luba if simpletons' children were also simpletons. "Am I also going to have idiot children?" Luba shrieked, "Why the hell are you asking me that?" Gaspar said, "Tell me. Is my child also going to have a blow to the head?"

Pacing, throwing things, and screaming (very loudly) Luba said his children wouldn't be idiots, "You are a normal boy," and insisted that he wasn't going to have a child. Gaspar insisted, "I know it, I know it."

Luba demanded, "What is it you know?" and Gaspar said, "Senora Thelma is the little doll from the Devil's Cave. Her child is my child, Mama!"

Luba's mouth fell open. She knocked something over, breathing heavily and looking terrified, and said "No, it can't be." Gaspar said, "Si, Mama, si si." Luba roared, "I want you to tell me everything!" Gaspar said he tried to tell her before but she wouldn't listen. Luba hollered, "Now I am listening! Go ahead! Tell me!"

Gaspar told her about the Devil's Cave and his little doll. He finished, "And when I had her in my arms, my little doll said --" Luba interrupted, "Quiet! You don't have to tell me that!" She demanded, "Are you sure the little doll from the Devil's Cave is la tal Thelma?"

Gaspar said, "I know how to recognize. I recognize Florecita; Tonqui; you, Mama. I know who is who. She is the little doll, Senora Thelma is."

Luba said, "I tell you to be quiet!" It wasn't directly shown but apparently she slapped him. She snarled, "Don't repeat that! You're not going to tell anyone, do you hear? No one, because I'll kill you!"

Then she totally freaked out, kicking things and screeching, "I can't believe it, that you do this to me, I can't believe it, Gaspar!" Gaspar wisely chose to hide behind a piece of furniture.

(Luba was really spitting nails in this scene -- Don Loco would be proud. I know there's a lot of scenery-chewing in telenovelas, but I think Luba broke new ground. Along with a few vocal chords!)

Gasping and crying, she went to her picture of the Virgin Mary and said, "Forgive me, Mother." She hit herself on the head, saying, "It isn't fair, it isn't fair. I am a mother... Oh, what's happening to me? The hand burns me." (Because she hit Gaspar.)

She pulled herself together, wiped away her tears, and held out her hand to the cowering Gaspar, saying, "Gaspar, son. Come, sit down." Gaspar obeyed.

Luba knelt beside him and said, "Son, look me in the eyes. You are all that I have. I gave life to you." She said it hurt her to see him suffer, that he was a good man, and her hand burned because she had slapped his face. "I want you to know your mother Luba will defend you because you are more important to me than my life. Do you forgive me?"

Gaspar said, "Mami, Mama. I love you, Mamita," and they hugged, both crying. I think this was the best scene of the show so far.

Not off to a good start this episode, everyone is busy weeping over JC & Pau’s doomed romance. JC is content to suffer alone, weeping and looking all the more pathetic and pale in his stupid yellow sweater (ugh). Gabe is comforting Paulina, when Regina shows up with the big news…JC is sick. Paulina falls apart. Regina tells the whole story about JC’s great plot o’ secrecy and ends with, the only thing that can save him is a marrow transplant, Paulina jumps up ready to donate hers right away. Gabe, ever the voice of reason (who knew?) says, calm down girlie, it’s not quite that easy. Duh. They start on their own little Operation Big Secret (from this point forward, referred to as Operation BS), and decide to help JC without telling him. This sounds like a really dumb idea. Group hug.

Dr. Bedazzler (Leo—today draped in full bedazzled glory) is worried about JC and has realized how thankful he is for life and blah blah blah. He and his mom weep together and hug.

Paulina goes back home and tries to do her best b*tch act…which, of course, is not very good, maybe she should sign up for a basic course at Jocelyn’s College of BadA** B*tches. She’s decided to fight for their love and asks to show him the power of her love, yada yada yada.

Otilia and her coven are cackling over her plan to conquer the pre-hispanic clothing market.

Regina confesses to Lola that she told Paulina & Gabe. Lola asks if she’s going to tell the big D. Regina’s not sure. Lola tells her that Karen knows too and Regina’s like, oops I treated her like a little hussy because I thought she was nosing in on my son’s marriage. Oh no, she’s not a hussy anymore Lola says, she’s changing.

As we speak the hussy Karen is out with JC and telling him that Paulina is doing the right thing. Awww…the doctor is in.

Jos & Miriam are scratching each other’s eyes out with worry that their evil plans are all falling apart.

Gabe sends up a silent prayer for JC when Nicolas comes in talking business about investigating the big D’s business affairs. Gabe says that’s fine, just be discreet. Nic asks if he’s heard from MA. Nope….it’s a big fat mystery. How weird!

Silvestre & Elsita are arguing about her drinkin’ ways. She says I promise I won’t drink anymore, just don’t tell my mom or my irritatingly perfect, holy roller brother ‘cause I won’t never hear the end of it!

Jos confronts Gabe about MA’s mystery vacation. Joselyn herself looks like she’s got a nightjob as an Everest sherpa, but couldn’t afford the good gear so she just killed a muppet and made a coat out of its pelt.

Regina, Paulina sit down with Karen to apologize for thinking she was a total hussy. They clue her into Operation BS. They all spit on their hands, shake hands and call it good. They’re BFFs.

JC is pondering what a total idiot he is and thinking of new ways to be an even bigger one.

D is asking Regina what’s been bothering her lately. She says she’s just tired. He guesses it’s about JC. He’s going to man up and go talk to him but really he’s just peeved that she didn’t tell him every little thing on her mind.

Paulina is busy demonstrating her love by sweeping off eraser dust from JC’s design, picking up dropped pencils and otherwise being an insufferable nag. D bursts in and confronts him about his crappy attitude of late. JC goes to chat with his mom and gets all dizzy—she freaks out and almost blows her cover. They end up crying, hugging and telling one another how much they love each other. Awwwww…

Elsa and Silvestre are home and greeted by Dr. Bedazzler and Cande. Elsa beats a hasty retreat and everyone gives each other a look of discomfort.

Gabe wants to call off Operation BS, but Pau, with her keen logical mind, convinces him otherwise.

Nicolas confronts Tiberio about some project or other and wants to know if there are any of Demian’s special little surprises in store. Tiberio, says, no, everything is in order, but Nico isn’t convinced and lets him in on a little secret…he wants to know how involved Ty is in D’s dirty work. Tiberio is totally confused. I say it every week but this plot line could really be underwritten by the National Mexican Alliance of Mental Health Care Professionals if Tiberio would just go and talk to someone about all these conflicting feelings.

Gabe confesses to Lola that something happened between MA and him. He gives her a letter, to see if she can make head or tails of it. She can’t. Lola suggests that maybe Jos has something to do with all this, since she’s the one who wants them separated. Hmmmm….Gabe’s got something to think about.

Regina goes to Joselyn and rubs MA’s magazine cover and her big projects in her face. Jos goes nutsy and tears the magazine to bits. Enter Demian and they start arguing about the plan and threaten each other, blah blah blah.

Dr. Bedazzler, as usual without any patients, calls Gabe about running the tests to be a marrow donor for JC. They’ll do them that evening. Silvestre stops by with the magazine about MA. Leo wishes there was a centerfold, but will settle for the little old article about her professional life.

Elsita is drinking alone again.

Karen delivers her designs to Miriam with a cheery disposition and Miriam is like, that’s enough of that silly attitude, what’s up? Karen says she just wants to be a better person. Miriam tells her she’s just becoming a stupider person every day acting like that. Karen’s all whatever, you guys sure as hell aren’t happy so I’m going to try it this way instead.

Nicolas tells Lola that Tiberio didn’t spill any beans about how wrapped up he is with Demian’s shady business deals. Lola’s worried and so he offers to take her out for coffee.

Miriam is going off on Demian about his little ruse with Jos. She says that there are going to be some pretty serious consequences when Gabe finds out, because he’s certainly going to make a big stink about it, and then Regina will find out. She calls him a real imbecile.

Gabe’s on his way to the hospital, when Jos comes down the hallway, telling that guy that he’s leaving the building. Oh god, how corny. She has set it up so the car almost hits Gabe, but she saves the day, but then will need to be taken to the hospital by Gabe where they can fall in love all over again. But…Nic & Lola (on their way for coffee) are like, no way, there’s nothing wrong with that little faker. Joselyn, however, has a PhD from Joselyn’s College of BadA** B*tches, so she keeps up with the ruse. Gabe is befuddled, as usual.

Real Marfil (henceforth RM) is in bed complaining to Bruno. Repeat of yesterday’s conflagration. Why do you want me to sleep? If the neighbors hear, they will call the police. I hope they will. This is scary. She falls asleep. Bruno actually looks tender, and is stricken. My poor little one. She actually cries into her hand.

More payback for Pancho. He is sneaking outside the motel parking lot in a towel. Pancho sneaking around outside in a towel. Two girls come by. Don’t be so modest—show us everything, they say. Then they astutely observe that they are sure you had your manos in the masa (hands in the dough) for your girlfriend to leave you nude out in the street. Good idiom, like hands in the cookie jar.

Granny DS has a new doll and a matching pink hat. Max comes to visit. Where is Diana? She is always with Marfil. Max breaks it to her that Diana won’t be coming back.

Back to M/D. What happened? Did she really wake up? Yes, it’s a miracle. How could this happen precisely now? What about our plan? Bruno tells M/D that RM is very angry. We had to give her a sedative. We must convince my twin to play along. M/D then thought bubbles “She will never return. Ha! I will be the new Marfil. Rolls eyes and tosses shoulders haughtily. Folks, this actress has the whiniest voice and delivery you have every heard. Wait for her crying scenes with Max. (When I was a kid, if I pulled a number like that my mother would call me “Sarah Heartburn.” This punny putdown was always used by mothers in my day. It would stop a tantrum in its tracks. It perfectly describes this scenery chewer’s acting style.)

Granny DS is talking to Max about why Diana isn’t coming back. He lies and tells her Diana has problems at home and her granny is very sick. Why doesn’t she bring her granny here and take care of both of us? Oh, she lives very far away. Then I am going to die. Than I am not going to eat. Max holds the dolly and tells her a story. Of Cenicienta (Cinderella). There was a pretty and poor girl. Lives with stepmother and bad stepsisters. Granny doesn’t like that part: skip to the end. Max does and Granny DS falls asleep. This is kind of touching—and a two-ton insertion of foreshadowing by the writers.

Diana is combing the papers for a new job. It’s hard to get to work without a car—and a nursing license. Reviewing past with Granny. It’s very hard that I can’t get work in a hospital. My license was suspended because of Dr. Evil (I’m still not clear on all the details of her license loss—if anyone knows please add). Granny vows that he won’t prevail. When will the judgment come? We don’t have a court date yet. But I’m going to talk to Gaviota, as she is my lawyer. (Folks, I have not seen the beginning, but I don’t know how Gaviota can be a lawyer. Ex-felons don’t get to be lawyers, except in extremely rare circumstances, and that is if they attend law school after prison (excluding “jailhouse lawyers,” who are just people who help other prisoners without having real training). The idea that she obtained a degree in prison is extremely unlikely, unless Florida has a very different system from New York’s. This has got to be just another fantasy the writers cooked up to add yet another coincidence to this highly coincidence-driven show. Did anyone see how Diana came to retain Gaviota as her lawyer? Did Gaviota hang out a shingle at the “bar”? Does she have any other clients? I will step off my lawyer’s high horse now, con permiso.)

Gaby is talking to Lala about how sad Diana is to lose her job. Lala says better my son will help her find a new job (the Diego Employment Agency has a great success rate. For a nice guy he has a bunch of awful associates. More later.) O comes in. You are fired. Because of your sister. Shut up, igualada. Your sister is a golddigger who is waiting to take over for the lady of the house. No, she’s a good and decent girl, she never wanted to conquer a man to raise herself up. Get out of your uniform and out on the street with your sister. I will send your severance pay with Lala . Octavia pleads for mercy. O says, shut up. You have years of service here, but I don’t permit anyone to judge my decisions. If you don’t like it you can go too.

Gaviota tells Diana she is glad she left that horrible house and those bad people. No, all was my fault. I should never have kissed Max. I let him kiss me. No, don’t feel guilty, the truth is that you have been in love with a married man. The same as your mother. No, I was happy working there and I was near him.
I loved him, Gav. But now you have to forget him. You must hate him. You cannot love people who are trash. Diana says he is different from his mother. Gav says no. Forget him before it’s too late. He’s worthless, he’s an Irazabal. Lots of repetitive discussion like this.

Max tells Emilio that if Marfil were gone, he would marry Diana tomorrow. Emilio says O would be mad. Max doesn’t care.

Camila on beach talking on cell to D/M . Asking if she has the money. No. D/M says she will find something to sell. Camila hangs up and gloats about how no one can conquer her and Marfil

Bruno tells D/M that she is going to see RM. D/M is hysterical. Tells her about the secret plan. Enlists her in going to O’s room to steal jewelry.

Diana and Granny are talking about Max. Then Gaby comes home and tells how she got fired just for being Diana’s sister. They are all upset. Too many debts. They are on a losing streak. Granny says God will help us. Gaby is most upset that she won’t see Larry anymore.

Larry tells Lala that he will save the day—he has something very good that he will do with Gaby. Just then Larry gets a call from—Pilar! She is in trouble in Mexico. Please help.

Diana walking in street and meets Diego. Wow, he’s got a new job lined up for her as a “telefonista,” which seems to be a receptionist/telephone operator. It’s working for a company for some millionaire where he is giving piano lessons. Good luck. (BTW, why have we never seen Diego actually playing the piano. Maybe he can't play at all. Judging from his students, they wouldn't know the difference. They certainly are not applying themselves to their studies.)

D/M calls Max in his office. Tries to get him to come home. No, honey—too much work. Meanwhile, Bruno fishes through the jewelry box and finally finds something good—a giant gold bracelet with several large emeralds. (vocab: Esmeralda= emerald, pulsera—bracelet. I like that, it helps to remember: pulse points—wrist--bracelet.).

Back to Pilar: Kiki hit me, he took my passport, and my bag and money and my tarjetas de credito. I can’t get back to U.S. Larry says: oh, now you want me. When you left with that trash and left me at the altar. Please. Kiki comes up and Pilar is cut off. You can tell Larry is torn!

Gaby tells about Larry’s marriage proposal. Granny says it’s not a good idea. He is just looking for a refuge and a balm for his pain. But Gaby likes the illusion. They talk more about finding new jobs.

D/M looks at the pulsera. Tells Bruno to sell it. Bruno wants to use any extra money for therapy for RM. D/M is not happy with that idea. Bruno says that sooner or later, RM will have to return to the mansion. Bruno calls D/M an impostor, and D/M slaps Bruno. It almost makes you feel sorry for Bruno. D/M says, get out of here, igualada. Payback to Bruno. D/M is mad because Bruno prefers paralyzed Marfil. Out in the hall, Bruno cries. I am paying, my golden child, I am paying. We don’t know what this is about yet.

Max is filling in as nurse for Granny DS. More whining about how they both miss Diana.

Diana is trolling streets of Miami in a strapless dress. Arrives at new job at Bracho Imports (I wonder what they import? We can only guess . . . but I bet it isn’t coffee.). Receptionist can’t keep up with calls. Old receptionist says, oh you are young and pretty. Lucky you got this, but you are young and pretty. I am going on vacation. They’ll probably fire me when I get back. I’m now 50 years old. Diana says she would never allow that.

Cut to shot of man in open bathrobe with goatee and ponytail. The effect is not Larry the hunk but Al Pacino in the latter part of Scarface. This is Senor Victor Bracho. Wants to know if the new telefonista has arrived. His wife comes in, and says if I catch you cheating I’ll kill you both. Not to be a looksist, but this is almost too much of a joke—the wife seems to be 20 years older and 75 pounds heavier than Victor. A beauty she is not. Wife puts a small gun in her purse.

Cut to O. Nancy, call the chofer in 10 minutes. I don’t want to drive. She is looking through the jewel box. Naturally she is looking for the pulsera—which Bruno took because she thought she didn’t wear it often and might not notice it was gone right away. O accuses maid of doing it. No, I swear.

Camila and Bruno. Camila wants to see the bracelet—she says she has a place downtown. They speculate on the secret. After Bruno leaves, Camila laughs that Bruno is delusional if she thinks that Camila won’t win out.

Back to Bracho Imports. More instructions on phone answering, Mr. Bracho is cranky. He loves young and pretty girls like you. He always treats them well.

Max is swimming in pool. D/M comes out with walker. She tries to kiss him. He pulls away. Don’t you want me? He says the truth is with two years separated my passion cooled. It’s not easy to maintain a marriage that way. The only solution is that get a divorce. She is impactada.

Bracho arrives and asks how’s this new telefonistsa. She is young and pretty. Send her in.

O is quizzing everyone about the bracelet. Of course, she accuses Diana. Yolanda tries to get her to remember when was the last time she saw it. O is having none of it.

Gaby is sweeping the house. Larry comes in door. Did he even open the door? At least on Seinfeld you saw them come in and open the door without knocking. Here they just walk onto the set.

D/M scolds Max about divorce. She can’t believe it. Major tantrum ensues. He says he will take care of her until she recovers. Tantrum continues.

Come in says Bracho. Leers at Diana. Diego assured me that you are a good worker. In my profession of nurse, but I’m not sure about this. I just want to get experience. How did you get here? I took the bus and subway. Don’t worry. I will pick you up in the morning. No. I am accustomed to public transportation. Don’t say another word. For me it is no trouble. When you finish work, I will take you home. Can you guess what’s coming? (Fool me once; shame on you. Fool me twice; shame on me. All I can say is, Diana had better not use the Diego Employment Agency again.)

Back to more repetitive arguing between Max and D/M. He says, If I could do over my life, you are very pretty and all, you deserve a man who loves you. I am not that man. Don’t go Max, don’t go. He goes. She vows: No no this will not happen. He will never divorce me.

Lety likes this shell because it’s not broken like her heart. Aldo asks if her heart is still broken. She says yes, it still hurts to be next to Fer. She decides to move the furniture to put the picture right in front of her. Aldo comes right out and asks her, “Lety do you really think Fer wasn’t in love with you?” She simply doesn’t want to talk about him because she doesn’t want to feel what she feels. He wants to know what that is, but she doesn’t want to remember all those lies and hurtful things. Aldo understands, but he just wants to fight against beating him up every time he sees Fer because he can’t help but remember all the pain he caused her. He can’t conceive of why someone would want to hurt someone so wonderful as she. He leans in for a kiss and the phone rings. These bells are sure opportune.

Fer and Omar the Imbecile are chatting about Aldo, Omar says you should be content because now she is going around with Aldo, and just a little bit ago, she was with Tomas. Fer wonders why he would give a picture of a shell. Fer wants to measure how long he is with her and wants Omar to be quiet. Alicia and Marcia too are wondering why Aldo gave her such a gift. Mar thinks it could just be that he’s nice to everyone and a gentleman. Alicia is perplexed at why Aldo wouldn’t like her she’s perfect, except for her stockings says Marcia, and if she did go out with him, it would do her some good to bring her back down to earth. She doesn’t quite get this as she looks at her feet and thinks she’s touching ground just fine, and besides is a great walker. Blond moment for sure. [OK, I have to wonder how many actual days it took to film these episodes. Did they do it all in one day? I haven't really noticed continuity issues so I'm impressed if they did it over more than one, but I feel sorry for them having to wear those clothes for so long. Especially Alicia, whose stocking rip now extends the entire length of her leg. Ugh, it would drive me nuts to have to wear torn up stockings like that!! I wonder if she gets hole imprints on her skin...]

45 seconds. Fer thinks it’s been 38 minutes. Marcia then discovers them spying on Lety. They discuss the whereabouts of the cuartel. Alicia says they spend all their time in the bathroom because they think they are immune as friends of the Presidenta. Marci says we’ll see about that and she leaves Ali in charge of the boys.

Marcia then happens upon the cuartel discussing how Lety the ugly could take Fer away from Mar who is so pretty, blech….and how bothered she must be and so on….Mar bursts in and they try to cover by saying they are talking about a novella, again with things including police. Lola borrows Lui mimisqui.
She tells them the police would come for sure when she rips them to pieces…..she’s not a fool. If you have something to say to her tell her what’s up now that she’s there. Marta asks to go back to work she says yes, but to work, not to gossip.

The cuartel files out of their meeting room and is noticing Fer spying and so call him a traitor. They hiss at him. Fer is clueless but aware. Mar also comes out. As usual, Ali wants to know what’s up. Ali answers PM s phone and tells Lety about the meetings as usual in the bathroom, PM is mad, so she grabs the phone back and says that Ali stole the phone. It’s Lety and she wants to see the cuartel all in her office. They are impactadas

Lety is still with Aldo deciding where to move stuff. Ali and Mar confront Fer, about why they were keeping watch outside the presidency. He says they were just walking through and were tired so stopped to talk about the cuisine project, the mole, etc…. They depart to “their” office, the one that they have, you know, together, like when they were in school, they sat together then too. Mar tells Ali she thinks Lety spilled the beans to the cuartel about the Fer love affair. Ali wonders what the swindler was doing outside of that office. Mar tells Ali should investigate because maybe they’ll raise her salary, but she wants her to let Mar know when Aldo comes out of Lety’s office. Ali is duped. Another blond moment.

Aldo says he’s got to go to the meeting because everyone is waiting. Lety thanks him for the painting and he kisses her hand while the cuartel swarms around them licking up his honey. He flirts some more with them pollinating guapa all over the place. Lety is still upset though.

Caro-chan shows up looking for Aldo because Lui needs him like heroin. Aldo wants to know how well she knows Fer. She says well. He wonders if it’s possible that Fer really loved Lety. Caro-chan dismisses that and says no you know that story very well. Aldo says but he feels Fer seems legitimately jealous of him. Caro is impactada. She thinks that he’s misinterpreting the signals and tells him it’s just not true. He is convinced Fer was really mad and really jealous, not faking in anyway. Lui then calls from afar for Aldo, he agrees he better go so Lui doesn’t get a mimisqui. Caro fixes his hair and lets him go. I’m telling you, something has to be there between those two. They are just too buddy buddy. The way he looks after Lety, Caro looks after him. Hmmmm……

Lety shows off her painting to the cuartel. They tease her “Bien Po-Po.” They discuss how they might help move the furniture for her. Lola then takes the hammer that would be used to hang it and has a better idea for it; to mash Cheque. She mashes her hand by accident though. Duh! Ouch. After the pain subsides they spend time pondering the shell of evil (ok there’s a better reference here, but I can’t pull one out of my brain right now, but that shell is eerie, like it’s haunted or possessed or has evil powers or will make you turn into a werewolf or something. I can’t look at it too long, it creeps me out) making artistic critiques. Lety decides now it’s time to get tough with the cuartel. She tells them to ixnay so many of the eeting-mays in the bathroom, that they need to work more, she’s worried about Mar watching her under a microscope. She’s cool about it though, because they can talk in her office sometimes if needed. They are bummed but agree.

Omar and Fer are in “their” office talking about Aldo, which Omar says is boring him so let’s talk about Mar instead. Oh yeah, now there’s a subject that can really wind your binder!!!! Omar tells him he should take Marcia with him all over. He says he already sleeps at her apartment etc, and sees her daily at work, that should be enough so I don’t have to take her everywhere. AAAAAhhhhhh! Fer is impactado, he notices the infamous black bag of goodies is gone, that held the Jallmarks, that he put in the trash can, that was emptied and sent to the trask collection site. He wants to know when the trashman comes. The two have another pissing contest over the desk chair, but not as injurious this time.

On the other side of the firm Lety recalls the bag as well and flashes back when she said it should go in the trash and while day dreaming of this she spaces out to the computer install man talking to her. PM shows up with Lety’s calendar etc. She wonders about the trash man too, so PM calls Celso and finds out it’s coming soon. Lety is “anxious.”

Fer asks Juana casualmente when the trashman comes. She also says soon, and he tells her the desk is a little dirty. Fer tells himself if Lety doesn’t care about these things then he’ll save them. Echo, echo, echo, …well actually, Lety tells herself the same thing. Will they reunite while digging through the dumpster? I hope so.

Lety runs out of her office determined to recover her dreams. She is stopped by Caro-chan and she wants to chat and know what her office looks like. Lety tells her she already knows because it is the same as Fer’s because she wants to go dig through trash.

Tomas pays homage to Einstein, oh, no wait, presto, it’s Alibubis!! That’s a great idea to have reversible artwork. I get bored with my surroundings very quickly and could easily be in a Frida Kahlo mood one minute and a Thomas Kinkade, Painter of Light mood the next……well, no not really, but…

Tomas continues talking to his art’s backside and does some prep to confront the Oxi with the little brown bolsa. Bolsas figure prominently into this novela’s storyline I’ve noticed. I wish they’d make better use of them though. I can think of a few cast members whose heads I’d like to pull some over.

Lety tells Caro-chan she’s happy Aldo is here with her and she owes him her current fortitude. Caro affirms Aldo’s dedication to Lety.

Ali practices her next meeting with Aldo and waltzes into his office and fantasizes about his appreciation of her. Tomas overhears her acting out her fantasy solo, but he can’t see Aldo’s not really there. He makes a noise trying to get away, and Alicia hears it and is afraid someone discovered her. She goes to look for whoever it was but finds no one.

Tomas curses that Apachurro de Aldo for moving in on his girl.

Aldo is sharing his thoughts with Mar and Lui & Ricky about the project. Lui of course loves his idea. Alibubis interrupts, Lui wants to know why and she tells Mar she has a message for her. She then tries to pull Aldo out. Lui reprimands her for being inopportune. Ali asks him if she can talk to him about something important but not urgent. He patronizes her. The plants are moving, oh it’s just Tomas playing secret agent 007.

Ali asks Aldo if he’s free tonight. He thinks he might be, but she’s probably not. She says she has many things to do, but if someone special invited her for dinner tonight she could cancel everything. Just then Lui walks up and notices Tom in the bushes. He asks what the metamorphasizing oruga is doing there eating plants, no less. Tomas says it’s just him, and Lui says and he’s wondering what Woody Woodpecker is doing in this tree.

Lety wants to know if Caro will help her with the project and she says yes, but she wants to know what she’s getting into. Lety says welcome to the hell known as Conceptos. Caro says that’s because Fer is here no? Lety says yes, she wanted to stay away from him, but every time she sees him she just feels worse.

Sara answers an urgent call from the US Embassy. They ask to speak with Fer and she asks Omar if he knows where he is or if he would like to speak with them instead but he shirks his responsibility and says Lola can take the call or maybe Fern should call back since he’s the contact with them. Omar says to say Fer is putting on his lion face in the bathroom. She thanks in them English. Sara begs pardon for forgetting to dial Gui for Omar.

Simon wanders in singing loudly. Sara tells him to go find Fer because someone from the US is going to call him back in 10 minutes. Simon says he’s not here he went outside the office. He says he’ll go find him. Simon babbles on about liking this country and singing stuff.

Fer is now outside and is searching the trash areas; he is only finding organic trash at first. He then finds what looks more like office trash. The trash men notice him and wonder what he’s doing. He dismisses them telling them now is not the best time to collect the trash. They think he might have lost some money.


Caro and Lety are talking and Lety says the international publicity is what is concerning her the most. Caro said she and Aldo saw Gui, and he’s lined up advertisers here in Mexico but he’s waiting to speak with someone at Conceptos. Lety says she left that to Omar. Caro and Lety understand the problem now. Caro continues on and Lety drifts off. Caro asks her if she’s listening and Lety says, well I’m thinking that I have to see Fer again and I’m feeling bad…..

Funny I was thinking to include these links that I found to the first Fea episodes last night, but I didn't. Ironically some comments are showing up about them so here is the very first one. I noticed no spoilers (didn't search for them, but pretty sure none are obvious). Once you get here you can easily click on the following chapters, each goes up to 5. I can post more of them if you have difficulty finding the successive scenes. Enjoy! I spent my lunch hour watching them yesterday because I never actually saw them. Our network had an outage those first two days and as far as I know they never reran them. Man I was mad, and so thankful I found these!!!!

It's Ruth's daughter's birthday today, so I'm subbing for her. It was no pleasure: this episode was so down I can't even crack jokes about it.

1. The Gabriel and Mariangela problem.

Gabriel is straining his last brain cell trying to keep up with the plot. He keeps creasing his face, trying to understand. Mariangela? Hasn't been answering her cellphone? Is gone? Took the baby? Throughout this episode he will be saying he doesn't understand.

He goes to Candelaria and says he doesn't understand. She says she isn't allowed to tell him anything except that MA has gone to represent Regina in some conference out of the country - then she hands him MA's note, which he reads in the same stupor of incomprehension. "I have to leave, for work. After what I heard and saw, there is nothing remaining between you and me. I feel profoundly deceived. We'll talk when I return." He repeats her words many times in befuddlement. He goes to Nicolas and repeats everything. Nic says, be patient.

Joselyn is impatient to find out if her cuddles with Demian-masquerading-as-his-dumb-brother had the desired effect on Mariangela; she is exasperated to hear MA has left town and the showdown must wait till her return.

Jos goes to mommy to complain; Miriam says once again that the whole scheme was a big mistake and will result in disaster for both Jos and Demian, and that now Gabe will never trust her and she will lose everything. Jos says, "that's not what I wanted to hear from my mother."

2. The newly-weds on their honeymoon.

Elsa is drinking in bed. When Sil comes in she quickly hides her bottle under the pillow. At long last he notices the alcohol on her breath and after a brief struggle finds her bottle. "I can't let you destroy yourself," he declares, "I'll take charge now."

3. The JC problem.

Regina read the letters her son has been writing to his future child and hiding under his blotter. "Son, I'll miss seeing you smile, your mischief, your first steps, I'll miss having you sleep in my arms. Know that I left your mother still loving her with all my heart. I had a mortal illless - but I always loved your mother ..." Regina breaks down.

Dolores and Leo are in his hospital, agreeing JC has gone too far in deceiving his mother and wife, when said mother bursts in and shouts: "Stop lying, is my son really going to die?" Their somber expressions tell the tale.

Regina yells at Dolores for deceiving her - "you're a mother, you should understand I needed to know" - but eventually forgives her, knowing JC orchestrated the deceit.

She finds out she might be able to give her son a bone marrow transplant, but JC has refused it because the operation would be dangerous for her. All fear for her heart; she insists on the operation and goes to see the specialist who will determine if her marrow is compatible. Then she makes the exact same mistake JC made: "We must do this transplant without his knowing." (I've heard about this on the internet, in reverse: you wake up in a bathtub full of ice and discover somebody has harvested your kidney.)

JC is determined to leave Mexico, though his ex-boss Manuel says this is all a mistake.

Paulina is sobbing over JC's pictures when Karen comes to visit. Paulina upbrades Karen for trying to steal JC - Karen is about to explain everything, I think, but Paulina shoves her out the door and slams it behind her.

Regina sobs, thought-bubbling about a Mother's Love and how she's been scolding JC when he really needed her support. She goes to him and promises him her unconditional love - but he mustn't leave, he must stay with her. As they hug, he thought-bubbles: "I will never leave her until death takes me," and she: "Son, I'm afraid this will be our last embrace."

Dolores is also thought-bubbling about a Mother's Love and crying when Tiberio comes in. He is surprised to see her crying, saying she has always been so strong. He even gives her a hanky. Is he getting rehabilitated?

Pau tells Daddy that JC is leaving her, so Demian goes and yells at JC. There's a showdown at the apartment. Gabe says JC doesn't deserve Pau and suggests she leave with him.

She says, "You taught me to fight for what I want, I'm going to stay and talk to my husband." She tells JC his eyes are telling her his cruel words are a lie. "Why not lie by my side and be with me when our child is born? How can you think I could be happy with another man?" He says she'll find consolation in the child. She says: "I'll always miss you, I'll remember your voice, carry in my heart the memory of your embrace and the warmth of your skin. We're at the moment of deciding our future..."

She demands he look into her eyes and say he doesn't love her. He manages to do it. She leaves, in tears; he breaks down sobbing after she leaves, soliloquizing: "Forgive me for breaking your heart - I'll die with your name on my lips. In the days that remain to me I'll think of you every moment."

Paulina rushes back home, and she Gabe are rehashing in shock together - he says he'll take care of her and her child, and she will just have to live for her son - when Regina arrives and tells them that JC is dying. The cheery goodbye music strikes up.

Thelma tells a coughing Angel that if Emilio dies everything will be hers. That's one way to make an impression on your new brother-in-law.

Luba and Flor hear Don Loco approaching the cave. Luba pushes Flor into the back as Don Loco enters in a rage. Luba says she knew he'd be furious about what happened, (the wedding), but she couldn't do anything to prevent it. That conceited Emilio set a trap for them and they fell into it. Don Loco says "Oh you wish I'd believe that, you liar," and gives her a smack. Flor eavesdrops as they argue.

Luba tells Don Loco to calm down then she tells him her story...first he (Emilio) sent Gaspar on an errand, then when Luba and Flor were alone his servants took them by force to La Rinconada. Don Loco keeps shouting "damn it" throughout her story. Luba continues...that guy (Emilio) said he would kill la mula ("the mule" which is what Luba calls Flor in front of Don Loco), if they didn't comply. Don Loco ponders for a second, and agrees that wouldn't do because it would thwart his own revenge. But there's one thing he doesn't understand and Luba's going to tell him right now. How is it that Flor was wearing her mother's wedding dress, how, damn it?? It must mean Soledad knew about it. He starts to choke Luba in retaliation.

You'd think Thelma would be in a good mood because she finally got to marry Emilio, but noooo, she's a bigger bitch than ever. She tells Angel she got to marry Emilio because she's carrying his child. She gloats, too bad for Angel her son will be the legitimate heir. Angel says unlike Thelma he doesn't care about an inheritance. Spoken like a true artist. He says she's a thief, a thief who has robbed Emilio of his right to marry whom he chooses. Thelma doesn't give a damn about his opinion, tells him he's contagious, and stomps out of the room. Good riddance.

But wait, there's more, she returns and tells him to pack his bags because if Emilio dies she'll sell the property and she doesn't want to see Angel ever again. He has a coughing fit and nurse Susi arrives to calm him down. "Please brother, don't die," he gasps. He wants to see Emilio.

Don Loco and Luba argue forever. He makes threats of dire punishment against all of them, especially Soledad. Luba asks Don Loco what he intends to do with "la mula." He tells her "Don't think I'm convinced by your story, God only knows if you were paid my Emilio." Luba acts outraged, "When have I failed you boss?" He waves his whip in her face and stomps out. Flor comes out of hiding and hugs Luba. "What's he going to do to my mother, what horrible punishment is he thinking up for us?" she asks. Luba says she doesn't know, but it will be very bad.

Orlando is having a one-sided conversation with the unconscious Emilio, "It's the end for you, you're going to die, but not the way I would have wished. You'll leave the world without suffering. I won't have the pleasure of seeing you tied to a woman you don't love. Damn! It's going to make me sick to have the tell the world how incredible you were. I hope you burn in hell!"

Nurse Susi helps Angel into the room in time to hear Orlando conclude, "...don't you die on me, damn it, don't you die!" Angel puts his hand on Orlando's shoulder and says, "Emilio is strong." Orlando is impactado, "Uh, were you there, did you hear everything?" Angel says yes,but obviously he wasn't and didn't, because he, who formerly loathed Orlando, says that Orlando is nothing like Thelma, the whole world knows what kind of woman Thelma is. He has to get her away from Emilio. Orlando holds out his hand and says he will help in any way he can. Snake.

Thelma's aunt sings and talks to herself in the mirror. She imagines she's getting married. She "sings" Ave Maria and Thelma rushes in and shrieks for auntie to shut up. She's on edge because she argued with Angel. She goes ballistic when Auntie tells her she hasn't had a chance to get rid of the red dress. Thelma says she's going nuts, she can't stop worrying about that imbecile (Gaspar). I REALLY wish they would stop calling him imbecile. And we've already learned about ten ways to say idiot.

Cut to Gaspar running and yelling for the doctor. He intercepts the carriage, he has something important to ask the doctor. He has money and can pay. He asks the doctor to help him. His munequita doesn't like him because he's an idiot, can the doctor get the idiot out of him? Please?

Mexico City - The new doctor tells Mariana there are some alternative treatments he'd like to try on Marianita. He wants to help them. He puts his hand on her arm in a very undoctor-like way and says she made a most pleasing impression on him from the first. She tries the old, "Oh you should meet Marianita's dad, he's MUCH more pleasant than I am" line. The doctor is surprised and asks if she's married.

Jose is sweaty and loading wood in the back of a jeep. The guards step away and Jose thinks he sees his chance to escape. He says goodbye to Arcadio, jumps in the jeep and peels out. Jose is a stud but he's dumber than a piece of kindling, a little planning would go long way. The guards shoot at him.

Don Max is having his "I want your daughter for my very own so make her like me" conversation with Braulio. Braulio squirms and says Rosita will never comply as long as that Santos is around, they're gaga about each other. Don Max says Braulio has to be firm, they are firing Santos from La Rinconada because he helped Don Loco escape. "You'd better prohibit her from seeing him or he'll betray your confidence too," threatens Don Max.

Mariana tells Malena that she told the doctor she was married. "To the phantom Jose? Forget about him," answers Malena. Mariana says Jose is the great love of her life.

Oops, looks like Jose failed to escape AGAIN, he is tied to the chair AGAIN, and Arcadio is tending to his wounds AGAIN. A guy in black with a gun tells Jose there is much to do and he'd better demonstrate he's inclined to help if he doesn't want to spend the rest of his life in the mountains. I don't know why they haven't killed him. Seems to me he's more trouble than he's worth. He won't even have sex with the boss's sister.

Don Loco is in Soledad's room. It's dark. She sleeps. She wakes, "Dios mio!" I fast forward. I see the wedding dress. I stop. He shows her the bloody dress. She gasps.

After the commercial Soledad freaks out, "You killed your own daughter!" She faints. Don Loco tries to revive her. He calls her "my love" and says he loves her. Sicko. He yells for Adela and Sergio to get the doctor.

The doctor tells Gaspar there's nothing he can do for him, his condition is irreversible. Gaspar doesn't understand. Just then Sergio rides up and tells the doctor there's an emergency at the hacienda. "See you later, idiot" Sergio sneers at Gaspar as he rides off with the doctor. Gaspar is distraught, "Nobody wants Gaspar. In the Devil's Cave my munequita wanted nothing else, but she doesn't want me here. Perhaps she didn't recognize me, perhaps she wants to see me, I'm going to look for her again, yes!!" He smiles and runs off. Dang, he's optimistic! And relentless. I'm not sure I could take that level of enthusiasm.

Braulio asks Rosita why Santos helped Don Loco escape. She says of course it's not true, Don Max is a swine, a liar, he invented the story to get rid of Santos. She loves Santos and Don Max can do nothing to separate them. Papa Braulio sighs, he has a long hard road ahead of him.

Thelma is all hormonal or something. She's an uber-bitch. She bitches at Orlando who is continually lounging around in her room. She bitches at the help when they knock on her door. She's not handling her role of Lady Of The Manor very well, so far Emilio's brother and all the servants hate her. Orlando tells her she's the queen of La Rinconada and can make the servants do whatever she wants. Oh ick, he tries to kiss her and she bats him away as they flounce out the door. She's the queen all right, the Queen Bee-atch!

Flor talks to Donkey about her destiny. She tells him she can never return to La Rinconada. Donkey bares his teeth and barks, "Snap out of it, human!" Flor says Donkey is right, Emiliooo needs her now more than ever! She runs out of the cave with Donkey at her side.

Thelma and Orlando have invaded the kitchen. The two guys, I can't remember their names so I'll call them the two boobs and you'll see why, tell her they don't know why she's nervous about thieves, La Rinconada has never been robbed. I guess Don Loco arriving to break up the wedding and shoot the groom doesn't count. She shrieks at them to guard the grounds and shoot first and ask questions later.

Naturally poor Gaspar is sneaking around the grounds and the two boobs shoot him in his bulging bicep. Meanwhile Flor and Donkey are nearby and hear the shot. Donkey barks. Gaspar runs away. The two boobs see Gaspar's blood, hear the bark, and think that they shot Donkey.

Angel begs Emilio (cough cough) to wake up. Nurse Susi convinces "joven" Angel to take his medicine and rest. They leave and Emilio mutters "Flor, I love Flor."

Thelma is sure she heard a shot. She hopes it was Gaspar and she hopes they killed him. "Why such hate Thelma?" wonders Orlando.

Edelmira and Granillo are thrilled. They are doing a booming business thanks to Coral. Granillo buys a guy a drink and Edelmira glares at him, 30 pesos of profit down the drain! We get to see a split second of Coral's rock-hard buns doing a boom-shakalaka to the drums.

Thelma bends over to kiss Emilio while Orlando is raiding his toiletries. He says Thelma still hasn't told him why she hates that idiot Gaspar so much. Doesn't he know Gaspar is the guy who boinked and impregnated Thelma the drunken slut? Guess not. "No reason," she shrugs, "he's repugnant, that's all. Does he live nearby?" Orlando says he lives in a cave with his mom the witch, and Flor. Flor was put there by Don Loco. Thelma asks why Don Loco hates Flor so much. "Because he's loco," answers Orlando.

Orlando says he'll have to be careful of Don Loco if he wants to conquer Flor. This revelation interests Thelma and they spend the next few minutes taking digs at each other. She says her desire was to be presented as Emilio's wife in Puebla, but he doesn't even know he's married. Orlando says he probably knows, that's why he keep protesting in his delirium, that's why he has no desire to live. This ticks Thelma off, "of course he's going to live, he has to!" Orlando says they only have one recourse but Thelma's not going to like it. Luba, the curandera, is the only one who can save Emilio.

Cut to Luba tearing up strips of cloth to treat Gaspar's wound. She waves some herbs over his arm and wraps it up in dirty cloths, she's some healer. He keeps wailing about his munequita. Luba is sick of hearing about it. She tells him the woman in La Rinconada is Emilio Valtierra's wife. They are married. Period.

Flor returns and is shocked to see Gaspar bleeding. Luba tells Flor he took a bullet. "Is it serious, does it hurt?" she asks Gaspar. He nods his head with fervor, he's liking the attention.

The doctor is in Soledad's room. He tells Don Loco he wants to examine her alone. He gives Soledad smelling salts and she moans, "He killed my daughter. Murderer! He killed her..."

Thelma doesn't want to consult Luba. Thelma says she doesn't need that riffraff, she doesn't need anybody! Orlando asks would she prefer that Emilio die? They bicker some more until Orlando goes to bed. Alone, Thelma kisses Emilio, "wake up my love." He stirs and moans in her face, " I love Flor...Flor...Flor..."

Luba and Flor are commiserating in the cave, wondering what new torments Don Loco has in store for them. Flor cries that thanks to him she has been stuck in the cave for two years wearing the same clothes. Really. She said that. Luba can only imagine what kind of torture Soledad must be feeling, the kind of hell she must be going through without her daughter. Luba is a mother and understands. She gets angry and says one day everything will change, it has to change.

PAY ATTENTION because this is the wackiest scene so far: Coral is leaving Edelmira's place with a wad of cash. She walks out into a dark alley but someone is waiting for her. It's Jerimias, the old dude she beat up earlier. He brandishes a whip and tells her they're going to have a little chat. To Coral's credit, she doesn't look scared (and why should she?) merely annoyed. Suddenly, out of the dark, a feminine voice asks Jerimias what he's doing accosting a defenseless woman. Coral smirks. The camera pans up to reveal the speaker. Holy S**t, I think it's Granillo in drag! He's made-up and wearing a dress, a red wig and a feather boa. Jerimias is clueless, he says he'll play with both of them. Granilla says it will only take one of them to put Jerimias in his place. She yells "Aieeeeee!" and karate-chops Jerimias on the neck then stomps him into the ground. Coral claps, "Ay Ay Mamacita!"

Later, at La Rinconada, the soldiers are talking about getting back to work. Coral and "Grani" arrive. The soldiers are all "Que????" and roll their eyes. Guess the girls are having a sleep-over. I hope Don Max tries to sneak into Coral's room tonight....heh heh.

Don Loco has a flashback to happier times with Soledad. The doctor interrupts the daydream. Soledad's condition is very delicate. He doesn't understand why Soledad doesn't want to get out of bed. He has examined her carefully and can't find any physical wounds. (Ummm, didn't she fall off the balcony earlier? He can't tell? No wonder everybody goes to Luba and Flor for medical attention. This guy sucks.)

The doctor says Soledad has been out of it for hours, she won't move or open her eyes, that sort of apathy is very dangerous. "Your wife believes her daughter has died. She has lost all her will to live!" Don Loco is impactado, but I'm not sure why.

* MA is in her office, crying in disbelief after spying on Jossie and Demian's acting job against her and Gabriel.

* MA returns to Gabe's office and just outside the door, she overhears through the door the private conversation between Jossie and Demian (pretending to be Gabe). MA is hurt even more.

* Nick and Dolores have dinner together - they discuss the investigation and Dolores has misgivings because her son is involved.

* Jossie and Demian laugh about how well the scheme went with MA. Jossie leaves just as Tiberio enters. Tiberio asks Demian about Jossie.

* MA cries outside the building and thinks about the conversation she just overheard between Jossie and "Gabe".

* Demian and Tiberio discuss Jossie's presence in the office - Tiberio wants details, Demian refuses to give any and gets back to work.

* Pau storms into JC's office and demands that JC explain why he is treating her so horribly, she doesn't understand. JC tries to brush it off but she demands an explanation so he gives her a doozy of one - he is confused and wants to separate from her immediately. She is shocked - he claims that he isn't sure he ever wanted to be a father - she is upset and cries - he wants her to find someone else to love her and be a father to the baby - she can't believe what he is asking her to do and screams her hurt and anger at him - he says it is true - she is so hurt and angry she storms out of the office. JC sits in his chair and takes a deep breath and prays.

* Gabriel is in his office trying to contact MA by cell phone but she's not answering.

* MA is sitting in church, crying and praying for help.

* At the palace office, Jossie tells her mom about the scheme she and Demian just pulled off on MA to try and break her and Gabriel up. Miriam warns Jossie that it could blow-up big time in their faces.

* Tiberio is at the computer working as he remembers seeing Demian and Jossie making out in the office. JC enters frazzled as he sits down at the drawing table. Tiberio asks what's the matter? JC doesn't answer him and only wants to focus on work.

* Demian visits Gabriel in his office about a big business meeting. Gabriel is distracted and doesn't want to talk. Demian leaves. Gabriel tries again to call MA - he's concerned about her disappearance.

* MA still in church, crying and praying and trying to make sense of what she just overheard and saw. She tells herself all that's important now is her and her son.

* Nina and the other nanny are playing with LD and LG in the nursery. Jossie enters and the nanny puts LD in the crib. Jossie shocks the nannies when she picks LD up and plays with him.

* Tiberio leaves JC alone in the office. JC writes another letter to his unborn son.

* Pau in the office, thinking about her confrontation with JC. She's still in disbelief and calls Manuel to meet her for coffee. Tiberio enters the office and listens.

* Nick visits Regina at her home. She asks him about JC's sudden change in attitude. Nick is surprised. She asks for his help in finding out what happened to cause it. Nick agrees to talk with JC.

* Tiberio sits at his desk. JC enters and asks about Pau - Tiberio says she went out for coffee with Manuel, and then asks who Manuel is? JC stares at Tiberio.

* Pau cries to Manuel about JC's harsh attitude towards her and their baby. He tells her to be patient. She's hurt and disillusioned.

* Tiberio continues to question JC about Manuel and Pau - JC tells him point blank to butt-out of his marital affairs. Regina enters and Tiberio tells her that JC is trying to push Manuel and Pau together - Regina is shocked. JC sits at his desk. Regina glares at him. Tiberio excuses himself and leaves the office. Regina starts to yell at JC for his harsh, cold attitude towards Pau. JC claims he made a grave mistake marrying Pau. Regina is shocked and scolds him some more. JC says he is positive about not loving Pau and wanting to separate from her. Regina reminds him about the baby they are expecting. JC doesn't have a rebuttal. Regina scolds him for being so irresponsible.

* Nick and Dolores meet in the living room of Demian's mansion. They discuss Nick's investigation of Demian and Tiberio. Nick tells Dolores that Regina asked him for help with JC. Dolores is surprised.

* MA returns to the palace. Miriam stops her in the living room. MA is in no mood to talk. Miriam presses her about separating permanently from them and leaving the palace forever. MA, still depressed, agrees that she wants to never see them ever again and agrees to Miriam's offer to buy her out.

* MA enters the nursery and sees Jossie singing to the boys. MA, without saying anything, picks up LD and leaves. Jossie continues to hold LG and sing to him.

* In her bedroom, MA puts LD down and cries as she thinks that selling out maybe best for both of them.

* Gabriel and Demian meet outside the restaurant with the important business clients. The clients enter the restaurant - Demian stands outside as Gabriel calls MA again on his cell phone (MA hears her cell phone ring, knows it's Gabriel and doesn't answer). Demian asks who Gabriel is calling - Gabriel says it's personal and enters the restaurant.

* Leo serves Candy lunch at home. They discuss Candy's worries about MA. Just then the phone rings, Leo answers. It's Sylvester - happily reporting in from the honeymoon suite at "chez pobre" hotel. Elsa sits on the bed beside him, bored and reading a book. Candy is so excited with Sylvester's call that she asks to speak with Elsa - Elsa rolls her eyes at Sylvester as he hands her the phone. Elsa is uninterested in talking with her mom, makes the conversation very brief and hangs up. Sylvester doesn't look happy. Candy is now worried about Elsa. Leo quickly comforts her and then rushes off to work.

* Karen finds JC walking in the parking garage. She notices he looks frazzled and frustrated. She gives him a friendly hug. Pau sees the hug and runs off crying.

* Regina is working in her office. Pau runs in crying, she can't take anymore of JC's games. Pau tells Regina about seeing Karen and JC hugging in the parking garage and thinks her marriage is really "on the rocks." Pau also informs Regina about Manuel.

* Karen and JC continue their discussion of his plan and his terminal illness.

* Regina consoles Pau and tells her that she will do what she can to help.

* In the palace office, Miriam hands MA the check. MA has changed her mind and rejects it. Miriam is shocked, takes the check back, and hopes MA doesn't regret it.

* Leo and Dr. V discuss the possible experimental treatment that JC is no longer eligible for. They discuss the only option left is his mom, of which JC is still adamant about not telling his family anything about his condition, especially his mom.

* Nick and Regina meet in the office - he asks her to attend a highly visible event for the business. Regina is hesitant. Nick hopes she reconsiders and leaves. Regina makes an urgent phone call to MA for a favor.

* Gabriel and Demian are still at the business meeting. Demian is doing most of the talking with the clients. Gabriel is nervous and preoccupied.

* Regina is in JC's office. She is desperately searching for something, anything to explain JC's sudden behavior change. Karen enters. Regina jumps all over her for her interference in JC and Pau's marriage. Karen sputters to try and explain, but Regina slaps her and doesn't want to hear any of it. Karen walks out in disgust.

* Leo meets with JC and Dolores to tell them JC isn't eligible for the experimental treatment - his only option is for Regina to help. JC is adamant about not involving or telling her or Pau anything. Dolores and Leo try to explain but he doesn't want to hear it and leaves.

* Regina continues to sift through JC's files at his desk. She searches through his computer files and then picks up his portfolio and other papers on his desk. There she finds the letters he wrote to his unborn son. She sits down, starts to read them and starts to cry. When she reads the words about his terminal illness - she is heartbroken, in disbelief and devastated. She can't believe that her son is dying. She hugs the letters tightly to her chest and cries.

Excuse me while I do a little celebration dance because my classes tomorrow are canceled!!!! I'm so excited, I just might go sled riding. Who says that two feet of snow in one day is not a good thing? I love it!

Sara and the cuartel read the letter trying to figure what exactly it means. After Sara reads the line about Fernando sleeping with Lety, they all shake their heads in disbelief.

Lety sits in the car dealership, thinking about Aldo's wise (and somewhat mushy) words about love and how it loves even defects. Tomas interrupts her thoughts to tell Lety that she needs to sign the papers for the car. She wanders in one direction, but he corrects her and off they go!

Meanwhile, in the bathroom at Conceptos, Lola deduces from the letter that Fernando signed "something" over to Lety. The rest of the cuartel takes a stab at figuring out the mystery. First there was the board meeting, then a lawyer talking about an embargo, then Lety was made President, then she made her ex-boyfriend vice-president! Martha is not interested in talk
about the business. She wants to know about the last line of the letter - the romance between Lety and Don Fernando. Sara gets frustrated and points out the Fernando only made Lety fall in love with him to save the business. Martha gets up to leave and tells the cuartel that they should talk to Lety. PM wants to know why Omar would write such a letter to Fernando. Lola takes the folder and at Martha's suggestion decides to analyze it and later give the cuartel a report. They exit their conference room.

Alicia sits at her new desk, trying not to listen to the girls conversations about Omar and El Cheque. Sara stops to ask Alicia why she didn't clean the floors. Alicia says she was waiting for Conceptos' own Cinderella to do it. That is, she was waiting for Sara to clean them. Sara says that the floors are just going to have to stay the way they are. They argue some more about the floor and go their separate ways. Marcia enters the room and asks PM for Aldo's phone number. There's dramatic music, but I'm not sure why.

Fernando pulls up to Conceptos in his "BMW." Fernando complains to Omar that he (Fernando) does not want to go into Conceptos. He does not want to run into Domenzain. The thought of it makes his stomach sick. Omar assures Fernando that Aldo is only interested in Alicia and is not the slightest bit interested in Fernando's little gargoyle. "To who?" Fernando replies. Omar stumbles over his words and eventually says that he meant the current President. Fernando points out that she has a name, Leticia Padilla Solis. Omar replies that he has no doubt he will learn that name in a few more days. They decide to go into Conceptos.

Marcia tells the cuartel that she desperately needs to contact Aldo. Luigi needs some information that only Aldo can give her. PM apologizes and says she does not have the number. Marcia tells PM to call Yazmin to see if she has any information. PM reluctantly does so, but asks Marcia to remain standing by her while she calls Yazmin. Yazmin says she will look for the number and will later talk to Marcia personally. Marcia catches Sara and Alicia tossing a towel back and forth. She asks them both if Fernando has arrived. They say that he hasn't; nor has Lety. Alicia points out that this must be a coincidence. Marcia does not appreciate the joke and tells both women to clean the floor. Ummm...isn't Juana the cleaning lady?

We present another commercial break! Lety would like the red Ford vehicle! She thanks the salesman, but first wants to know if there is a special plan for businesses. (Me, me, me! I know the answer! It's called the "X" plan!) She wants economical vehicles with financing for her business's employees. The salesman says he'll send her the information. (Hello? Did you not hear me? It's called the "X" plan. Duh, my information is like totally reliable!) He asks for her card. She replies that she didn't bring one, neither did Tomas. She gives her e-mail address instead. After they leave the salesman, Tomas pulls Lety aside and says it's pathetic that they don't have business cards. No one will believe who they are. (As if Lety's pirate shirt and Tomas's parrot hair didn't give them away.) Tomas says he'll make the cards. He also thinks they need another "weapon," cell phones! He begs, and Lety caves. Lety wants to know why Tomas did not buy a car. He hints that he has another option in mind.

Aldo plays with a fountain. He tells Carolina that he's sure Lety has received his gift. Caro asks if Aldo sent the gift in order to "conquer" Lety. Aldo says no. He thinks it's absurd to expect to receive love because of material gifts. Aldo says that the office feels very destructive, and Lety's going to be spending a lot of time there. He wants this painting to mean the same to her as the painting that she painted on her bedroom wall. Also, it represents their time in Acapulco. There's a quick flashback to when Aldo gave Lety a miniature conch shell. He says that he's going to conquer Lety with his heart and because he loves her.

Fernando and Omar enter the reception area. Omar takes notice of Yazmin. I guess it's Jazmin now. Fernando asks her about the large package. She reveals that it's from Aldo and it's intended for Lety. Fernando looks "thrilled."

We, the audience, are treated to a lovely shot of the Nextel office. Tomas argues to Lety that he thinks it's a great idea. Lety thinks that it's a dumb idea to buy a repossessed car. Jeez, I wonder what repossessed car Tomas will buy. A silver Mercedes perhaps? Tomas tries to reassure that his idea is great and that he loves the car. Yeah, so does the Oxigenada, Lety reminds him. They walk into the Nextel office. Lety says they need two phones. Tomas asks the saleslady her name. It's Alicia. Tomas points this out to Lety and also points out that this lady is a blonde. (I think). Lety replies that this lady is a natural blonde. Lety points out to Tomas all the cell phone options that they have. Tomas pretends that he's calling his girlfriend. The saleslady plays along and pretends to answer another cell phone. Everyone except Lety giggles.

Alicia calls her ex-husband, who is in a meeting. Alicia not so nicely tells the receptionist to have him call his wife. "Mauricio is with his wife?! He married again? No, he did not tell me." PM and Sara overhear this whole embarrassing conversation. Alicia corrects herself and say's that she's his ex-wife. The receptionist asks which one. After Alicia says her name, the reception remembers her. She was the witch!

Fernando thinks that the reception area should look professional, and that gift doesn't make it look good. He gives what is apparently a painting a nice kick. Jazmin says she's waiting for Saimon to take it to Lety. Fernando says this will not do. Saimon always takes a long time and that package will just sit there for a long, long time! Jazmin agrees, and says she can call Celso to do it. Fernando says no because Celso cannot leave his post. The phone rings; Fernando picks up and says that they're busy. After giving a nice little speech about how Conceptos is a leader because it always does things immediately, Fernando offers the services of one Omar Carvajal to carry the painting to it's destiny. Omar says it's going to give him an hernia. Yazmin tells Fernando the location of Lety's office. Fernando thanks her, and the men walk off with the painting.

The cuartel rush to Sara and PM to tell them the latest news. They looked through some boxes of Fernando's. Lola asks the girls to come to the conference room where they can safely talk.

Omar complains to Fernando about what their doing. Fernando tells him not to complain; he must see what's in the package. Omar asks if Fernando really intends to open it!

Fernando apprehensively opens the top of the painting. We're treated to another of Omar's squeals before Fernando goes at it and rips the paper off to reveal a painting of a conch. Fernando does not understand the significance. Omar thinks it would be a good idea to take the painting to it's place. Fernando agrees and puts Omar in charge of re-wrapping the painting.

Omar explains to Caro that the conch represents the beginning of life, of our own interiors. It's something physical and something spiritual. Guillermo interrupts and brings some books that will help them prepare for the big expo.

Fernando and Omar return to reception. Fernando asks Jazmin for Aldo. She tells him that Marcia was looking for Aldo as well, but no one had his cellular number. Omar asks why Marcia needed Aldo's phone number. Jazmin replies that Marcia has a meeting with Luigi and Ricky Armstrong. Fernando asks if Lety is in the meeting as well. Jazmin says that Lety has been away from the office for a long time. Fernando postulates that Lety left with Domenzain.

In the Nextel office, Lety selects her phone. Tomas asks Alicia, the saleslady, to explain the phones. We get a nice little commercial for Nextel. Lety rushes the saleslady; she needs to return to the office. Tomas asks Lety to accompany him to the mall so he can buy something intimate. Lety says she'll go.

Fernando and Omar talk about the possibility of Lety being with Aldo. Omar asks if Fernando intends to keep the painting. The boys, for what I think is the first time ever, talk business. Omar thinks the campaign should take place in the United States. Fernando disagrees, he thinks the Mexican diet is more important in Europe. Of course, the decision will be left up to the "hache" Lety. Omar thinks the "h" stands for horrible. Fernando says that of course it means honorable.

The cuartel returns to it's conference room. Lola tells the cuartel it's worse than they previously thought; Conceptos owes forty-five million dollars to a company called Filmo Imagen. PM figures out that Filmo Imagen means Tomas Mora. They resolve to research some more.

Alicia finally speaks with her Mauricio. She asks him for money. He reminds her that they are divorced. She says that when they married he said he would support her through the good and the bad and that they would not separate until death. She begs him for help. Aldo and Caro enter the room and overhear Alicia's pleas, but Aldo rushes Caro away from the difficult situation. Mauricio threatens to hang up the phone. She says they're not going to hang up until he resolves her problems.

I was hoping we would make it a whole episode without a Luigi scene, but no such luck! He, Marcia and Ricky talk about the slogan for the Mexican diet campaign. Aldo and Caro enter the office. Luigi introduces Aldo to Ricky. Luigi asks Aldo if he would like a modern slogan. No, Aldo says he would like something warmer that shows a Mexican family around the table eating a home-made meal. Affection is the most important thing.

Alicia continues to talk to Mauricio. Alicia guesses that it doesn't bother Mauricio one bit that her life is now in ruins. Lety and Tomas enter to hear Alicia crying while talking to her ex. She has photos she can use as blackmail. He'll pay so that no one sees those photographs.

The cuartel continue to talk about the Conceptos situation. Lola gives a brief summary of the situation to Juana. Lots of re-hash. Martha and PM are still pre-occupied about Lety and Fernando's romance.

Lety and Tomas continue to listen to Alicia talk to her husband. Mauricio thinks that Alicia is extorting him. He hangs up on her. Alicia wails. Lety approaches her and asks what's wrong. Alicia cries for a moment and then explains that these are just her problems. Lety asks for the cuartel. Alicia says that they're in the bathroom, and they've been in their all day. Juana passes with Omar’s trash. Lety stops her and asks about it and then tells Juana to go on with the trash. Alicia says that she needs to speak with Lety. Lety asks for a little time first. Tomas remains at Alicia's desk and asks her to come to his office.

Tomas stops to ask Lety if that was the trash bag contained all of her and Fernando's memories. She confirms. He asks if Lety thinks it's dangerous having that bag go all over the office, there's a lot of gossips. No, it's going to where it belongs now.

Marcia asks Alicia about Lety’s arrival time. Alicia says that she came into the office a few moments ago with Tomas Mora. From the other side of the room, Lety and Aldo enter the scene. He's wondering about the painting. She says that she hasn't seen it, but she'll ask Jazmin about it. She asks Aldo to describe it. He does and at that moment, Pinky and the Brain walk off the elevator. (In a few weeks I'll leave a youtube link with these two and that theme song; currently, there's just too many spoilers in it.) Fernando literally walks into Aldo's arms. Marcia asks Fernando why he has the painting. Fernando pulls away from Aldo, hands it to Omar and oh so slickly says that he doesn't have anything. Besides, the package was just sitting in reception. There was nobody to take it to its place. Aldo points out that Fernando had the painting in his possession for quite a long time. Omar replies that they had to go to the editing room. Aldo thinks that Fernando knew that Aldo gave it to Leticia. Fernando plays dumb. Aldo thanks Fernando for bringing it to its place.

The cuartel re-hash some more about the bolsa roja that Omar left for Fernando. That's when Lety began to cry so much. They figure out that must have been the time that Lety found the letter.

Fernando snatches the package from Omar and hands it to Aldo. He tells Aldo not to thank him because he didn't do it as a favor for Aldo. Marcia asks if he did it for Lety. Yes, wait, no, no, no! Not for Lety! It was that it looked bad sitting in reception. Besides, it's just a painting of a conch. (How did this guy get away with cheating on Marcia so many times?) Aldo knows that Fernando opened the package. Fernando pulls the "wrapping just came apart" trick. Omar, as a good friend, backs him up. Fernando offers Aldo to help carry the painting into Lety's office. Aldo says he doesn't need help; he's stronger than Fernando. OOOHHH! Man fight! Alicia asks why Aldo gave Lety a gift if it's not her birthday. Aldo replies that he gave the gift just to give a gift. Lety and Aldo leave the room with the painting. Marcia and Alicia tease Fernando. He asks if they heard Aldo panting. Omar thinks the painting gave Aldo a Hernia. Fernando tells Omar to give it up.

Lola cannot believe that Lety would do such a thing with Fernando. Pam’s not so optimistic. She would have done the exact same thing. (You and almost everyone else, PM) Sara thinks that Lety should not know that the cuartel read the letter or that they know about the balance.

Lety tells Aldo that the painting is precious. Beautiful, really. She thanks him with a hug. She says that the conch is not broken, like her heart. Aldo caresses her and asks if this means that her heart is still broken. And fin!
